expresses his love through quality time. armin goes through life feeling like there are never enough hours in the day. he just has so much stuff to get done that tasks get pushed off because he overbooks himself. since his time is so valuable, blocking out time for you and planning how you should spend it is not something that he takes lightly. this doesn’t mean that every date is extravagant, he just wants to show you how important you are to him. he does his best to put effort into thinking of something you could enjoy together, even if it’s just reading in near silence. always shows up. you are a top priority.

armin needs words of affirmation to feel loved. he has a hard time believing that he is deserving of good things, armin really appreciates reassurance. hearing you, someone he has so much admiration and care for, insist that he matters reminds him that maybe, he is worthy afterall. tell him how lucky you are to have him in your life. armin is one of a kind and should be appreciated for it. “simple” affirmations are important too; “that sweater looks great on you,” “i missed you today,” etc. remind him that he is so, so loveable.

is all about gift giving. but not because he spends all his time/money on it. he just finds shit that he thinks you would like and gives it to you. expect to acquire a (genuinely interesting) rock collection. he would have specific reasoning as to why he picks each one, like if they’re shiny or heart-shaped. 100% picks wildflowers for you whenever he sees one. if he gets bored and there’s paper nearby, he’ll make “origami” (he can make the basic swan and then everything else is up to interpretation). also buys some smaller items when he’s just out and about, but he goes all out on important occasions. rarely gets you food despite buying it for sasha though. 

connie wants to hear words of affirmation. tell this man every single positive thought you’ve ever had about him. this might cause him to make some jokes at your expense, like teasing you for being “all obsessed” with him, but hearing such thoughtful things coming out of your mouth gives him the much needed reminder that people care about him. you care about him. there’s a reason he makes so many jokes, and it is not (just) because he is a funny guy.

*bonus* - connie likes having physical touch in his friendships. he just wants to platonically hold hands on walks with his friends (Jean has slapped his hand away more than once). he wants greeting and goodbye hugs whenever you have plans to hang out. expect him to give you hair ruffles/head pats and playful shoulder punches. he wants you to take turns giving each other hand massages. he’s also down if you ever need a piggyback ride, but keep in mind that he’s expecting one in return.

is a quality time guy. eren is a fan of deep conversations. can these get depressing sometimes? yes. is that one of his favorite things about them? also yes. if you can handle that shit, then he knows you’re the one for him. he is a small talk hater, and if you’re taking the time to understand his deepest, darkest thoughts and let him in on yours without making light of it, he’ll feel very connected to you. of course, no one can keep that up all the time and while he isn’t a fan of small talk, he likes really bizarre hypotheticals, comfortable silence, and head scratches.

eren is so grateful when you lend him a hand. this man is by no means lazy, but he is 110% a procrastinator when it comes to any practical facet of his life. he’ll be so focused on doing his tasks for work that his home is just a total wreck and it never seems to get better on its own. to be frank, he would not notice if you helped him with a little bit of everything. but if you helped him with one specific task, like doing his dishes or making him a grocery list, he would be elated. of course, he would never use the word “elated” or allow his face to show that emotion, but it would relieve a lot of his stress when he gets home. please remind him that every task is an accomplishment, no matter how small.

is dying to get their hands on you. take that any way you want. scientifically, romantically... very romantically. there’s lots to experiment with. all jokes aside, hange is a physically affectionate person with most people (probably more so if she wasn’t friends with levi and erwin, the least physically affectionate duo ;-;), but mostly in a proximity sense. like, they’re the kind of person who comes to sit beside you on the sofa and their thigh is basically on top of yours they’re so close. they also get closer when they talk to you, like if you back up, you will end up walking backwards to the other side of the room by the end of the convo. but in a relationship, hange is three times more intense. expect them to actually sit on you when you’re on the couch. hugs when they’re super excited, forehead kisses when they’re sleepy, shoulder rubs after long days. if you’re sitting in a chair, they’ll come up behind you and wrap their arms around you

hange loves that you spend time listening to them. to have a successful relationship with hange, the key is paying attention. they have a lot to talk about and they need someone who will not only listen, but expand upon what they’re saying. if you demonstrate even an ounce of critical thinking on one of the subjects of their interest, expect hange to be visibly excited. they will shake you by the shoulders with excitement before taking your face in their hands and calling you smart and looking in your eyes, and- well, the rest is up to you.

jean wants to spoil you. he thinks you deserve nice things and he wants to be the one to provide them. as someone who has always yearned for a taste of luxury, he feels that the best way to show his love is sharing that taste. he wants to take you to fancy dinners, buy you flowers every time you’re feeling down, and take you shopping (he totally loves it when you try on outfits for him. he gets all blushy, but plays it “cool” ofc). and if he’s really in his feels, he might even draw a little something for you. pretty please put it in a special place in your home.

jean feels closest to you when you’re touching. he feels like there’s nothing quite as intimate as being physically close to someone (hence why he’s quick to slap connie for trying to initiate platonic hand holding). knowing that you want him close to you, so close that you have to touch him, makes jean feel important. he seeks comfort in your hugs and kisses, knowing they provide a level of safety and compassion he can only get from being near you. there’s something very exclusive about it for him.

loves through acts of service. his acts are often masked by what some (levi included) might deem as “ulterior motives.” for example, washing/ironing your clothes because he didn’t feel like having dirty/wrinkled clothes around. mostly cleaning service tasks: something like brushing the dirt off the soles of your shoes or organizing your drawers (says he has a thing about privacy, until it comes to cleaning). he assumes that you’ve never had any organizational system in the first place. he will not explain the new system to you. he thinks it’s obvious. but sometimes, when you don’t wake up to him reordering your stuff, you wake up to a cup of tea or a plate of toast. be sure not to make a big deal out of it though or he’ll get embarrassed and "misplace” your birth certificate next time he’s cleaning.

levi secretly craves words of affirmation. frankly, “words of affirmation” might even be a stretch for what he desires most. he doesn’t need to be told how good he is at his job or how much others care about him. he wants you to pick up on little things about him that he hasn’t even realized. tell him if you like the way he pronounces a certain word or how lovely he looks while he’s focusing on the newspaper. he doesn’t let people get close to him easily, so by approaching your position as his partner with such attention to detail, you’re reminding him that he made the right decision letting you in. not even levi is immune to compliments.

*bonus* - levi’s friendship love language is quality time. let’s face it. the only way you’re getting close to levi is if you spend a lot of time together. the problem is actually getting that quality time with him. for levi, this would usually mean doing independent tasks like reading or doing paperwork together. also, doing group tasks (cleaning, cooking, etc) in comfortable silence. being friends with levi is the definition of being alone together. perhaps when you get really close you can have a little conversation with your tea.

will jump at the chance to perform an act of service. she loves to feel helpful, and since emotions aren’t something she is super comfortable expressing, she finds that assisting you with your day-to-day tasks is a good way to show she cares. she especially likes helping out with physical activities. after years of hanging around armin, she knows how vulnerable they can be, so it’s her own special cheat code. besides, she likes that her strength is useful for a variety of reasons.

mikasa feels seen when you gift her something. the fact that you saw something and thought of her makes her happy beyond comparison. mikasa’s typically focused mind will definitely wander to giddy little thoughts of you. how often do you think of her? what kinds of things would you like? what can she do to make you know that she cares? she’ll try to center herself, but part of her is glad to have something so wonderful to be distracted by. gifts are never wasted on her. she will treasure whatever you get her, even if it’s not something she would typically buy herself.

loves spending quality time together. honestly, he just wants to talk. reiner wants to know your thoughts on everything. he wants you to play with his hair while he lays his head in your lap as you tell him about your day. he gives (somewhat) good advice and always remembers small details. he views the people you tell him about like characters and gets invested in your stories.

reiner is eternally grateful for the acts of service you perform. putting out his slippers in the morning, making him a plate for dinner, asking if he needs anything while you’re up/out. he also views the anticipation of his needs as a huge act of service. for example, if he tells you that he doesn’t need anything, but you come back with a blanket because he looked cold, reiner will never stop thinking about it... or you.

will hype you up with words of affirmation. it’s not even something she does super intentionally, and frankly, her encouragement is not something that she provides exclusively for her partner. however, every time sasha has something nice to say about you, she will say it. and since you two are together, she has a lot of really nice things to say. she has a feeling personality, so of course she’s going to gush over you! plus, she thinks that the way you react is really cute and she wants to keep seeing the look on your face as often as possible.

sasha feels appreciated when you perform acts of service. obviously this woman will go feral if you cook her food. that is no secret. but she will also be completely enamored with you if you help her out with other things as well. fold her laundry?? sasha is raving about it for a week. offer to brush her hair? she will give you little kisses all over your face. for sasha, devoting your time and effort is the kindest thing someone could do.

Ok ok ok so

I've bought the Zelda Encyclopedia because I am in a hyperfixated rampage about LoZ. And on one hand it's the best thing ever, because special interest is going brrrr.

But ! But.

I've bought in french. Because I... Am french.

And I don't know if the english version has troubles, alright ? But THE FRENCH VERSION IS A BADLY TRANSLATED HELL and I need to rant.

Keep in mind that I didn't study the book. I've skimmed through. And I'm already holding my head in my hands in a dramatic 'losing my mind' posture.

But anyway ! Here's the defendant :

This is the book I'm talking about, and all the pictures that follow come from this book.

Note : I actually usually prefer the french translation in Zelda ! They do a good job at translating things that make sense, leaving things as they are when it isn't needed, and I often find the translated characters' names prettier. (Example : Makar, the korok from Wind Waker, is called Dumoria. I have NO IDEA why it changes so much but it sound so much better in my opinion !) So this is not VF hate. This is genuine uncomprehension as to WHY IS THE BOOK LIKE THIS.

Now, you don't need to go far into the book to have a problem with it.

First few pages. Like literally before the actual content of the book. Presentation of the games. Easy enough, right ? Not hard to beta read, RIGHT ?

"Miniship cap" I already want to quit and it's my INTRODUCTION to this book.

We can divide the mistakes of this book in three categories :

- Lore mistake

- Translation mistake

- Wtf mistakes

I would place "Miniship cap" in the WTF category, for obvious reasons. (HOW???)

The first two categories are easily justified : they asked someone to reread the book and the person wasn't very interested/didn't know Zelda well. But it makes the book LIE

Example of lore mistake :

The title here is " The Ancient Temple, marked by the loftwings".

THE L O F T W I N G S.

This is the ancient temple in Twilight Princess. This is supposed to read OCCAS ! SKYWARD SWORD WASN'T EVEN RELEASED YET !! LOFTWINGS DIDN'T EXIST !

Why did this happen ? Well, in french, Loftwings are called "Célestriers" (mix of the words "céleste", celestial, and "destrier", which is apparently the same in english but I've never seen it before, it's a horse usually or an animal you ride). And Occas ? Are called "Célestiens". People that lives in the sky, basically.

So yeah, Célestriers, Célestiens, I SEE the mistake, ok ?

But still. Uncool. Boo.

Now, example of translation mistake :

The first sentence here is a description of a picture, it reads "Aryll is abducted by Helmaroc King on Ganondorf's orders".

Why isn't this shocking to you, english reader ? Because Helmaroc King is the ENGLISH name of the big bird. In french, there are no "roi Helmaroc" ("roi" means king). It has been translated.

But maybe the book doesn't know, right ? IT'S NOT LIKE THE NAME IS WRITTEN ON THE NEXT PAGE, RIGHT ?

THERE. LE ROI CUIRASSE. THIS IS THE BITCH I KNOW ABOUT. I'M LOSING MY MIND

But again, alright, I guess someone didn't think to translate the name. Some characters's names aren't translated (example : french Skull kid is called... Skull kid. I am thankful for that), so maybe they just didn't THINK to check if there was a translation.

Even though. It was on the next page.

AND I WAS GOING TO LET ROI HELMAROC SLIDE. I WAS.

AND THEN I LOOKED AT THE SAME FUCKING PICTURE I TOOK OF THE BOOK.

First thing I underlined, "Mélodie", is a typo of Medli's name in french, which is "Médolie". I get it, it's an anagram, I've read it Mélodie my whole childhood, OK French Zelda Encyclopedia. OK.

BUT "ÉPÉE MAÎTRESSE" ?? NO.

THE MASTER SWORD IS NOT FUCKING CALLED "ÉPÉE MAÎTRESSE". MAÎTRESSE IS WHAT YOU CALL YOUR TEACHER WHEN SHE'S A WOMAN AND YOU'RE TEN, OK ?

(Actually, "maître" and its feminization "maîtresse" do mean master. But it's. It feels wrong. It's not the in-game name, and it feels wrong.)

THE MASTER SWORD IS "ÉPÉE DE LÉGENDE", OK ? LEGENDARY SWORD. THERE IS NO ÉPÉE MAÎTRESSE.

AT LEAST I HOPE.

Breathing in, breathing out... Ok. A not so important one :

"Les oiseaux" means "the birds", and yes, in english, those cuties are called "little birds" which would be literally "petits oiseaux" in french. (I know, too much vowels, I'm not here to defend my birth language BEAR WITH ME)

But in the VF ? They aren't 'birds'. They are PIOUPS. (Pronounced pyoop, it doesn't mean anything, just mimic the bird's noise)

THEY ARE 'PETITS PIOUPS' ALRIGHT ? AND I LOVE THEM. I'm just. Sad that their name isn't in the book. This is petits pioups erasure.

(After checking, the item they drop is called "plume d'oiseau", so "bird feather". The word "pioup" is just in the description of the item, so... Maybe it's just me. BUT STILL. LET ME CALL THEM PIOUPS IT'S ADORABLE)

And we're not even in my favorite category ! May I introduce :

BUT THIS IS WHY YOU GET SOMEONE TO RE-READ. This is a fucking official book ! That has been published by probably very official publishers, I don't know, I haven't checked !

The new year had started, He wasn’t expecting much of the new year. He didn’t want much to happen he just wanted to get it over with, keep quite and to himself wouldn’t be that hard. Yet when she sat next to him he couldn’t help but look over, his eyes meeting hers. Asahi felt his heart stop as she offered him a warm smile. That’s all it took, a smile that was genuinely kind.

With that small interaction Asahi continued to steal glances over to her, he took in her appearance very carefully. How the Sun from window made her dark tone glow, how her face rested with mean look to it, that on her lower lip and nose she had punctured holes for pearcings he guessed, how her curls were quite long for their texture. He hated how her eyes would meet his as if she knew he was staring, he hoped every time she caught his eye she didn’t think of him as a creep. But that he was simply admiring her.

And he would continue to for the ongoing week before she even said something. Sitting in her seat she turned her body twords him leaning against the desk, Asahi tensing up when she just stared. “ Considering how much I’ve been catching you staring you haven’t introduced yourself.” She hummed her right leg crossing over her left one.

His face went red “ Huh- no! I’m sorry if I’ve made you uncomfortable!” He panicked.

He watched as she smiled lightly “Hey, you’re alright!” She laughed softly. “I’m L/n Y/n, transferred from Nekoma.”

That’s how it started, they became close quite fast. Conversation with her came easy and never felt forced. He found out a lot about her. That she grew up in the states lived in Japan for the past eight years. Her hobbies, favorite foods and drinks, her favorite color, about her family, that she was a manager for Nekomas Vollyball team before moving. That caught his attention especially after he rejoined the team.

While walking to the gym he asked her why not, worse she could say is no.. to be honest he’d probably cry if she said no. “If you’re not doing any clubs we’re looking for another manager..” he spoke softly.

She looked up at him a brow raised “O-Only if you want to!” He laughed nervously. What was he thinking right of course she wouldn’t it was stupid to ask. He covered his face with his hands groaning.

She noticed his internal panic “Ahh, hey don’t panic just yet I didn’t even answer you!” She laughed jumping in front of him.

Asahi felt her hand grab his wrist lightly pulling them from his face. A smile displayed on her pretty features her head tilted to the side lightly, “I’ll come take a look! I mean why not got nothing better to do.” She laughed, god did her laugh make his heart flutter.

So they walked to the gym together, as soon as she stepped into the gym she was crowded by the two chaotic seconded year’s and their first year follower. Asahi panicked trying to get the out of her face but failed, yet she didn’t look panicked only laughed as they asked her questions and complemented her.

“HEY!”

The three boys crowding her turning towards the voice quickly. “How about you move away from the poor girl and let her breathe she just walked into the gym for Christ sake.” Daichi spoke

“How about you introduce us to your pretty Friend, Asahi-San.” Sugawara spoke his hand falling on to his shoulder.

Her eyes met with his, to be fair everyone’s eyes were on him. “Well, umm, this is L/n Y/n. She’s coming in to looking at being a manager hopefully.” He stuttered.

“Hopefully?” Daichi asked.

“He mentioned it to me, so I said I’d come in. I was a manager before, I’m new.” She spoke laughing nervously.

Needless to say she did become a manager, which Asahi was over the moon about yet so nervous about. She got to watch him every practice now every game.

Weeks had gone by and things had been going great she was now a manager of the team, she got along great with everyone she was a very lively person and everyone liked that. Asahi had fallen hard, and his teammates could tell. Of course Daichi and Suga pushed him to ask her to have lunch with him a bit more often, walk her home and even flat out ask her out. But Asahi always said No, that what if she doesn’t see him that way or he simply couldn’t.

It gave the two third years a headache because of how obvious his feelings were towards her and that she very much reciprocated them. How she would simply boost his confidence when he was feeling down or asked him to help her with small things how she always had her foucus on him. Even Kiyoko had spoke up but the ace always denied it.

Soon enough the Summer training camp had come up. A six hour bus ride, and she just so happened to ask to sit with him. He couldn’t say no, he didn’t want to say no anyway. So they sat together the two talking back and forth, sat in silence even but when he felt her weight on him he froze. Like a deer in headlights he froze up, staying as still as he could stealing glances here and there. Taking in her appearance and new hairstyle, she had mentioned to him that she was getting it done but couldn’t decide if she wanted to get beads or not that maybe it wouldn’t be a good idea that it could be noisy that she needed a second opinion. Yet Asahi thought her points were valid all she had to do was show him a picture of her with her hair done like that once before, “you should get them.” So she did, little did he know multiple of her friends gave different opinions ever her mom she took asahis and got them, pinks, clear, and even reddish tones.

“If you keep staring you might start drooling Asahi-San.” A voice behind him spoke, the short second year teasing his ace.

Asahi had soon fallen asleep his head resting on top of hers, in the picture his friend showed him Asahis hand rested on her thigh as her arm wrapped itself around him they were comfortable both of their mouth wide open. To be fair that his how he woke up, obviously apologizing for touching her, “Asahi, hun, i literally drooled on your arm if anything I’m sorry.” She laughed. The simple nick name though she call many ‘Hun’ or ‘Babes’ it still ringed through his ears.

“I still can’t believe that happened.” He covered his face as his friends shoved a phone in his face with said picture.

“I couldn’t help it! You both look so cute!” Suga teased.

Asahi pushed his friend causing him to fall over.

“Kiyoko I DROOLED ON HIM!” She cried.

Kiyoko only laughed, “You both looked.. comfortable.” She smiled.

“Fake!”

“Plus this picture of you I couldn’t help myself.” Kiyoko laughed.

Later that evening she couldn’t find him, she wondered is she scared him of or if his friends had said something. She continued looking around even asked Daichi only to hear he didn’t even come in for dinner. So taking it upon herself she made him a plate going if to find him eventually finding him sitting on some stairs.

“Asahi?” She called out.

Asahi had excused himself from the group to collect himself, more to get away from his friends teasing. He watched as she offered the plate out to him “I heard you didn’t make it to dinner.”

How could he forget? “Thank you..” he smiled softly taking the plat form her their hands touching.

Maybe it was the way she seemed to be the nervous one, how when she sat next to him she played with her fingers picking at the nail polish on her nails. She was nervous, he could tell by her body language she had something to say but just couldn’t say it. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry if me falling asleep on you on the bus made you uncomfortable, I just really hope I’m not coming of to strongly- and I- oh my god.” She stuttered.

“I like you. A lot, if I haven’t made it obvious haha..” she laughed nervously her eyes avoiding his as she made that confession.

Then the silence came back, for moments, Asahis eyes didn’t leave her frame. “I’m sorry! Im not really good with confessions..” her voice shaky as she stood up. “I get it if you don’t feel the same I really hope didn’t ruin our friendship, because I do really enjoy your company.” She smiled awkwardly, she sounded as if she was gonna cry.

He was about to let her walk away, the girl he’s been smitten about for months was about to walk away after confessing her feelings. “I like you too.” He muttered.

Putting his plate down he stood up “I like you to Y/n.” He spoke loudly, his body bowing down. “I’m sorry I was a wuss who couldn’t confess first, because I really do like you a lot!” He confessed.

He stayed like that for a moment, soon he felt her hand touch his shoulder. His body moving up as her hand traveled down to his bicep. “And please believe me when I say you’ve never made me uncomfortable..” he whispered.

He watched her take a deep breath, and nod tears welling up in her eyes “H-Hey don’t cry I’m sorry!” He panicked pulling her closer, his large hands holding her face up whipping away the stray tears.

“I’m sorry I’m a crybaby sometimes.” She laughed.

The feeling of her arms wrapping around his torso made everything better. How his own arms wrapped around her frame his head resting on top of hers. With her he was safe, with her he was confident and nobody could break that wall she build for him.

As the months went by Asahi had never been happier, all the dates, her support. The support he gave her, the happiness he brought her, that small things the had for one another. Asahi could imagine leaving her behind and he wouldn’t, he wanted them to be forever maybe it was because she was his first love, his first kiss.

His first. The way her lips fitted with his how she tasted of bubble gum and strawberries, his hands learned to touch her so tenderly and rough touch her in the ways her breath got caught in her throat. How his name fell from her lips so effortlessly, she was his. That the way he had her under him was only for him, the goosebumps that formed on her stomach as he kissed down her body. She was his.

The way her hand never left his as the walked through the markets day or night. The way she smelled intoxicated him, how her smile and laugh continued to make his heart flutter.

He remembers the moment he feel in love with you, the first time he let I love you, a word that meant so many things. Three words that meant so much commitment, three words that meant everything. Right before the Mach with Shiratoriazawa. The way you spoke to him as your wrap his fingers just like any other match, how you praised him, building his confidence, “I’m so fucking proud of you, and I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else because I want nothing more to be here with you.” She spoke her eyes never leaving his her words filled with so much love her body close to his.

“I love you.” He whispered, letting his forehead touch hers.

“I love you too, you’re gonna kill it right..” she said a smile on her face.

“I’m gonna kill it.”

He did just that, that final point being set. His body moved quickly towards her his body running twords her picking her up in a hug. Her legs wrapping around his waist, as she hugged him back. This was the first time they kissed in public. Yet with happiness like that there’s also the loses, the last match the played in the Spring tournament. Her holding him tears in his eyes his hand tugging on her jacket. That would be the last time he play Vollyball with them his friends, god and he tried so hard for them. For you.

“‘Sahi, my love you did so good.” She cried with him.

“My love you were amazing, you are amazing. I cant thank you enough for letting me get to know you to know you, to know your friends to let me into your heart.” She spoke holding his face.

“Thank you for loving me.” A sick sob left his throat.

“I will always love you.”

GKWKFJEJ, OKAY, GENYA IS A FAV CHARACTER SO I SAW THIS REQUEST AND I WAS T H R I L L E D.

Genya Shinazugawa:

- NO BUT IMAGINE THAT FACE BEING THE FIRST THING YOU SEE. There is a lot of confusion going on as you're yelling at him to back off, he's yelling at you for yelling at him, and then the rest of the Kamaboko squad finds you two and Inosuke escalates the situation by yelling even harder.

- It's very chaotic and Tanjiro has to calm everyone down and when you do, you start explaining how you're from the future and that you weren't sure how you got here and literally they're all so confused.

- They all take you to Oyakata to possibly help you learn how to get home and for the time being, you tend to stick around Tanjiro's group for a bit and befriend all of them. However oddly enough, you and Genya start to become closer.

- You and Genya would have a tense relationship for a bit. Mostly just because of how aggressively the both of you meet but there will be a turning point, maybe when Genya saves you from a demon and you're just there like, "Oh, thank you, I didn't expect you to- WHY ARE YOU EATING IT!?"

- He explains his abilities to you and it confuses you but also intrigues you in a bit of a morbid way. Also, apologizes for being so intimidating to you before, except its really shy and he says it mumbling but you can tell he genuinely means it.

- OUT OF ALL THREE OF THESE GUYS HE FORGETS YOUR FROM THE FUTURE THE MOST HONESTLY. It isn't until you talk in modern day slang or talk about wifi, phones, and Elon Musk (whoever that is) does he get reminded that you're literally from the future.

- I can see him listening to stories about your time period and how different it is from the one he's living in and asking you a few questions but other than that, he really doesn't care about learning about the future UNLESS its something that is related to you or sparks any sort of joy for you to talk about.

- Honestly he just gets used to YOU. He likes everything about you, something about you soothes him and makes him smile, and kinda makes him feel like a regular teen in general.

- It makes him sad when he's reminded that someday you might want to return to your own time so he struggles with wanting to tell you his feelings for you or not.

- *Cue the Kamaboko shenanigans to get you two together*

Giyuu:

- The calmest meeting ever. You're freaking out about what you're doing, he's just kinda watching you as you freak out and when you say you don't belong to this time, he's all: "Yeah, I figured."

- Seems like an asshole at first but you quickly realize he is rather polite but, like you, he has no idea how you got here so like, your taking a trip to the HQ.

- Very interested in your mannerisms and way of speaking. It is, as you would say in your own words, "giving him chaotic vibes". Also quite fascinated that you don't grow up with knowing what a demon is, must be nice.

- Not gonna lie he's kinda happy that you still hang out with him even after he brings you back to the Demon Slayer Corps. Like there are tons of cooler people than him and yet, he's the first person you look for everyday to just hang out and talk with.

- Like he's training and he notices there and you awkwardly wave at him and he awkwardly waves back at you. Yeah, no, this would be such a slow burn romance bc you guys are dorks. 😕

- No but him responding to your slang once he gets comfortable with you would be the highlight because you're all: "YAS, GIYU, SLAY, KING!"

- Giyuu, as he's fighting a demon: "I am not a king? I am slaying, though-"

- When he starts realizing how much he appreciates your time, he also starts to realize that he might not have much longer with you since you can randomly dissappear as easily as you randomly appear.

- So he enjoys everyday he spends with you, every moment you two create together so he can smile upon them if you ever do leave. Like moments of him sitting next to you on a porch and its raining and he covers the both of you with his Haori and listens to the raindrops fall and then he turns to you and smiles because you look gorgeous as you serenely sip your tea and stare at the rain in simple pleasure.

- Also next time someone bullies him for not "having any friends", he can trust you to run in and be like: "CAP. ABSOLUTE C A P-" he doesn't know what cap means but he likes seeing you go off.

Tengen:

- Also confused as fuck, he kinda just tilts his head when you ask who he is and boy, does this man get OFFENDED. Cue Makio and Suma getting indignant and only Hina seeing how you're clothes are very foreign.

- When you somehow prove that you're from the future then you have Tengen's attention. You're human so that means...Muzan gets defeated right!? and the Hashira save the world and all the demons are gone! This is confirmed when he mentions demons and you're like, "Do you mean like figurative demons like fascist soldiers or like, literal demons."

- Yeah, he meant literal demons you find out shortly. Its a lot to take in and Suma panics when you start to panic and Makio is yelling and Tengen and Hina are trying so hard to calm everyone tf down.

- Takes you back to the Hashira HQ and comes to the conclusion of your appearance in this time period has to be something demon related so he'll have you stay with him and his wives for the time being. Who knows? Maybe you'll have important information to defeat Muzan.

- DIDN'T REALIZE HOW DOWN BAD THEY'D BE FOR YOU. But by god, they are. They're not sure if its your "flashy" way of speaking, the way you help Suma over her anxiety, trying to calm Makio down when she gets upset with Suma, and helping Hina with household chores. Tengen teases you about being his fourth spouse but now it ain't a joke anymore as you help him recover from an injury he had with a demon in battle.

- NO BUT HE GENUINELY LOVES THE WAY YOU TALK AND YOUR MODERN SLANG. I can vividly see him fighting a demon and saying: "YOU DIDN'T PASS THE VIBE CHECK!" before he slices them. The wives also like it when you call them "girlbosses"

- Tengen and Suma kinda butt heads over you. Tengen wants to impress you with a cool trick and Suma wants you to keep petting her hair as she lays her head on your lap.

- Okay but they all like hearing about what the future is like so little storytimes where you spill the tea about what it's like in the future where Tengen makes you sit on his lap and the wifey squad cuddles up next to you and you tell them about random stuff from the future.

- Overall they absolutely love you, get your best outfit on, because they about to spouse you up.

Finally sat through all of Les Misérables 1935, which is of the quality I'd been led to expect (bad). Thoughts, in no particular order:

This version of Cosette is the most savvy to Jean Valjean's history as I've seen in an adaptation--down to knowing who Javert is and the threat he presents--without there being a dramatic confession scene. I think this serves the same function as the confession scenes: Brick!Valjean's dishonesty with her is off-putting, and while I'm not sure Hugo knew that, a lot of adaptations do (and adjust to make him more likable).

This movie, as others, struggles to make Javert the primary villain while not having the material from the original to make it happen. When '35 Valjean declares "This man has persecuted me for twenty years", there's really not the on-screen justification for that, unless he means psychologically. (This is still not as unjustified as musical!Javert's "I've hunted you across the years".) I'm resigned that I might be waiting forever for the adaptation which depicts their dynamic as one of mutual annoyance and surprise.

Whew, did not ward off the implication of incest. Not as bad as '52, but--really--that bar is below ground. As much as Brick!Valjean's hatred of Marius is essential and its absence fucks up the story, watching visual media struggle to communicate it without coming across incestuous really helps defend the musical's decision to dump it. In any case, there's a scene in which Éponine and Valjean are directly equated in their "loss" of Marius and Cosette respectively and it was u n c o m f o r t a b l e.

They took a story held together by coincidence (or fate, if you want to be kind) and added more coincidence (I am not calling this fate) by putting a ramble in Marius' mouth about convicts and unfair prison sentences. Incredible choice.

I'd be curious to see numbers on how many adaptations actually let Jean Valjean die vs. not. This one does not.

I found it genuinely funny when Javert, halfway through a sewer pursuit, stops with a "you know what, fuck this" expression & simply goes back to Valjean's house to wait for him.

Javert's big-ass baton? floats?? gonna be baffled forever, isn't that fucker supposed to be lead-weighted? whatever.

There is a scene in which Jean Valjean is haggling with a man to buy a dog, and I am so used to the intensive use of canine imagery in the Brick that I spent the next twenty minutes of film puzzling over the possible symbolism before realizing that there wasn't any. RIP, my wasted brain cells.

Valjean makes a big deal to Cosette about his going to England as a cover when he expects to be re-arrested (this is a stupid lie on multiple levels, but ok, '35 Valjean, you've had a long twenty-four hours, and the need to be dishonest which is the root of a Valjean welled up). Of course Javert yeets himself into the Seine, and the carriage Valjean said was waiting for him isn't there, so--what? he has to slink back into the house with a big ol' "never mind" having made a massive show of the thing? I feel robbed that this scene was not included.

Charles Laughton ranks above David Oyelowo but beneath Russell Crowe on the personal Javert scale. In 2012 I would have said nobody could rank below Russell Crowe. Life keeps on teaching.

Friendships don't come too easily to Rowan, but once youve proven your trust, he's pretty great, fiercely loyal.

Once he's in love, BOOM. He'd want it all.

Emotionally, he CAN be gentle, depending who to obviously. But physically, in general, he's not a gentle person, he has to really focus on things to be gentle, like, he could open a door and pull it off its hinges by accident without meaning to.

He likes hugs, he'll hug you any chance he gets, HARD overwhelming hugs. 🤣

Rowan can fall in love very quickly depending, and he would have no issue dropping the L bomb when he feels it.

Very jealous, he wouldn't handle it well. He'd take himself off for a while, then, whoevers making him jealous is going to GET it.

Rough, aggressive, and messy.

Rowan isn't good around small children, they make him antsy.

Mornings for Rowan are actually pretty eventful. He prefers to hunt very early mornings, so he's usually up and out very early to do that.

That totally depends on where he is. If he's somewhere with you, he likes to relax (and other things) but if he's at the Den, he's usually either fighting or enjoying the activities there.

O = Open(When would they start revealing things about themselves?)

I mean, once he feels a little comfortable with you, he'll tell you anything.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

Short fuse, he gets irritated and angry easily and its not pretty.

Oh, he'll remember EVERYTHING about a person.

This is hard to answer, but I think his favourite part would be building up trust in those early days, like him realising that you're legit and genuine would be a big thing to him.

EXTREMELY protective..And you already know exactly how he'd protect you.

A lot, once he's got you, he wouldn't wanna lose you, so he'd really try his best to keep you.

Messy in general, in most things. Getting wound up too easily, some could say acting TOO animalistic in his human form at times could be a bad trait too.

okay, so the cut lines, right? WASTED POTENTIAL.

i’m gonna go through each of the most interesting ones and just share some thoughts on them.

overall, in most of them, Vanessa speaks in a very soft-spoken voice. i know i’ve used this word a lot to describe it, but “timid” really is the best way i can express what she sounds like. she sounds much more docile than she is in the game itself, where she appears to be a lot more jaded, aloof, and commanding. this further makes me believe she was meant to be a more unassertive, subdued character. rather than being a grouchy security guard, she was a girl that has been broken down by constant abuse and psychological torment, making her submissive, quiet, and nervous.

“i’m here to help.” / “Gregory, i can keep you safe.” / “i’m here to help you”

in and of itself, these are not that interesting of a line, but i’m only pointing it out because i think Vanessa only says she’s trying to help Gregory in the trailers and unused voice lines. in the actual game, she’s mostly just griping about how she wants to detain him somewhere until morning (which is completely valid, her job is on the line).

but in the unused voice lines, she was clearly meant to be a much more helpful figure. it seems she wants to find Gregory not because she’s worried about her job and is annoyed that there’s some kid running around, but because she seems genuinely worried about it. perhaps because she knows more than she lets on? she knows the true danger of the Pizzaplex? the tone of her voice seems to say so.

“i’m sorry.”

again, not that interesting on a line on its own, but it’s her tone. when you watch the video i linked, you can hear the switch in her tone from the previous voice lines to that one. it’s much more low, almost dry compared to how she sounded before. i just think it’s interesting in the switch.

“i think we lost him.”

this HAS to be directed to Gregory. she seems to be whispering, i think. maybe they’re hiding from someone?

“him” has to be referring to the animatronics, and i think it’s about Freddy. after all, Freddy was meant to have a darker role in the game. so maybe there was a point in the original game where instead of Freddy accompanying Gregory, it was Vanessa for awhile.

“i found him!” / “he can’t be far!” / “he’s here!” / “get over here!”

i just think this one is interesting because it’s most definitely about Gregory, and it’s just a complete tone shift from how she was beckoning to him before. it’s a lot more fitting for how she is in the actual game, forceful and irritated.

“i don’t know how to fix it.”

unsure who this was said to. maybe she was talking to herself? regardless, she sounds very defeated and anxious.

“what am i going to do?”

she literally sounds like she’s about to cry.

“if Freddy was working, we would have him by now!”

Freddy’s broken. maybe this leads into Freddy becoming a bad guy? or maybe this is just referring to how he’s meant to be in lockdown or when he was down in Parts and Service.

anyway, she sounds very desperate and hopeless. on the brink of a whole breakdown, even.

“okay! i didn’t mean to!”

one of the Big Lines.

you can hear her stammering on the “okay.” i can also PERFECTLY visualize the body language she would have during this: shoulders hunched inward, head bowed, bearing the general disposition of a dog that’s being scolded by its owners.

and again, this HAS to be said because someone scolded her or got mad at her. and it has to be evil Freddy or Glitchtrap/Burntrap/William. there’s no way anyone else would reprimand her, especially in a way that gets THAT reaction out of her.

“he walks through every security door like he owns the place!”

more of that anxious irritation. she seems to be getting restless.

and again, it’s another jarring switch from that gentle tone before and into a more biting one.

“no, i can find him! it won’t be like the last one…”

the BIG LINE.

other people have gone missing, that much we know in the actual game itself. but this line implies that Vanessa is kinda wrapped up in it. she’s aware of the missing people (if that’s what this is referring to. i don’t know why it wouldn’t be), so it’s an actual plot point and not just something that’s mentioned a few times and then lingers in the background.

it seems to me like she was REALLY involved in what’s happening. she sounds like she’s tried to save someone before, and it didn’t work out, ending it something bad happening (probably death).

one could say that she says this because, you know, she’s a security guard. gotta keep watch and stuff! but i think this is much deeper than that. like she tried to, perhaps, overcome the control over her body and let one of her victims go, but was unable to fight against it…

also, once again, her tone. she sounds so deeply sad and pained. she seems like she’s about to cry. and at the very end of it, you can hear her take a very faint, quivering breath. just soemthing of note!

“i have the second key!”

TONE SHIFT! TONE SHIFT! TONE SHIFT!

she has a very dark, sinister tone here. like she’s possessed? 👀

also i think this is considered a cut Vanny line. can’t remember, though.

“look, i don’t know where it is.” / “do you know how many arcade games there are?” / “i’ll find it eventually.” / “i’ve looked everywhere!” / “it’s not here!”

she was looking for something. maybe that “second key” that was mentioned? or maybe an arcade game (Princess Quest perhaps?).

“Gregory, we can get you out of here. you and me, together.”

it further entails that Vanessa was, in fact, gonna be a more helpful figure that worked alongside Gregory!

ANOTHER BIG LINE!!!

the FEAR. the WORRY. the ANGUISH. this one single line has more emotion in it than the ENTIRE GAME ITSELF.

she just sounds so scared! she seems to know something, something deeper than what’s on the surface. like this has happened before…

i mean, saying, “hey, these robots WILL NOT stop hunting you” is a pretty damn bold claim. how else would she know that the animatronics will not stop going after Gregory if she didn’t KNOW how this sort of thing worked? also the emotion in her voice is too potent and powerful to be anything regular. she definitely has some larger connection to everything.

also the way her voice breaks on the “none of them.” god, just the EMOTION.

“we have to get you out by morning.”

once again, this is spoken with that soft, worried tone.

“you will do as i say! you will bring me what i want! and if you fail me, then you will… both of you will BURN!”

this is said by i think Freddy? possessed/evil Freddy, and i think it’s directed toward Vanessa! obviously it wouldn’t be Gregory because why would Gregory be taking orders from Freddy? it has to be Vanessa!

so, Vanessa is being told what to do by Freddy, perhaps because Burntrap/William is speaking through Freddy? i wish we could have seen where this went because it’s SO INTERESTING.

“when i first found you, you were nothing. you were small, pathetic. but now, you are more. are you ready?”

okay, this one is Burntrap/William, but it’s clearly directed toward Vanny/Vanessa.

this just straight up confirms that Vanessa is caught up in the chaos of the Pizzaplex. she clearly knows that shit is going on and has a personal connection to it all. almost like she’s under control of the mastermind behind it all…

so, YEAH, Vanessa clearly was meant to play a much bigger role in the game. more than that, she was much more emotional than she is now. and although i like her being all grumpy, i think it would have been fun to have an absolute anxious wreck of a companion.

like, Gregory is being so brave for his age, and then the camera pans slightly to the left to show Vanessa doubled over, having a panic attack.

The Eclipse ep. 11 -- *must* I have so many feelings?

Ok. I have never done anything on this godforsaken site beyond reblogging, but my thoughts have been going back and forth since Friday and maybe writing it down will make me stop thinking about it??

It feels like people are removing nuance from the issue of the variety of responses to Thua’s actions in ep. 11. Can we understand Thua’s motivations and feel that he was entirely justified? Yes! Can we understand Thua’s motivations and still feel upset? Also yes! Is it necessary to tell people that they’re watching it wrong or thinking about it wrong if they either *are* or *aren’t* upset? I certainly don’t think so. It’s not really something you can be right about in the first place. 

I think that’s what’s bothering me the most (maybe I’m being way too dramatic about tumblr discourse, but it feels like it’s reflecting the very issue that the show is trying to address: You don’t get to decide what’s right for everyone), but I also just want to explore my *own* feelings about this week’s episode.

Absolute mess below the cut. 

I disagree with a lot of the takes about this episode, which ..essentially means nothing. This is a   t e l e v i s i o n   (web, whatever) show. Everyone is allowed to have their own interpretations and feelings, and no one’s are more or less valid. None of the characters are perfect. They aren’t supposed to be. That’s what makes the show so good. A lot of people have eloquently expressed the “true evil” of this show being the system etc. etc., so I won’t go into it.

I say all that to say that I’m trying to unpack why I feel so strongly about this episode and the “twist”. This is what this post is. Not judgment or character assassination. Just trying to figure out why I reacted differently to this than other parts of the series where somewhat similar ~unsavory~ things were done by our beloveds.

SO. Thua. 

I just saw a few posts that people being upset about Thua outing Akk and Aye is hypocritical/unwarranted, since Aye blackmailed Akk with the cheek kiss picture and told Thua’s own mom more about him and his struggles than Thua consented to. (Note that I don’t have the energy to go back and watch that scene, so ... I’m just talking out of my ass about it, maybe?)

Again, valid interpretation that I’m not discrediting... it’s just that I don’t personally think they’re anywhere near the same thing. I think intention and audience are important things to consider here (though in the end I’m NOT saying simply having good intentions make outing and/or blackmail correct PLS).

When Aye spoke to Thua’s mother, it came from a place of seeing him struggling and wanting to find a way to help. Was it overstepping a boundary and crossing a line? Yeah, sure. Did Thua have every right to be upset about it even if having it out in the open brought some relief? Of course. I didn’t see much discourse about it at the time, but I think we can all agree that even if it wasn’t the best move, Aye was genuinely trying to help. And the conversation took place in a safe space -- a cafe full of queer people and allies.

The “blackmail” thing. I don’t think this even really needs to be discussed. Does anyone actually think Aye would have posted that photo?? We can say that it was an insensitive way to tease/urge Akk into doing what he wanted, but that’s literally their entire relationship. Aye pushes. Akk yields (and is arguably much better for it). The bigger issue to me was the lack of consent for the kiss, but that’s another thing. At its base, this was Aye and Akk doing Aye and Akk things in a car alone together in the parking lot of the Gay Café. 

(Again, maybe I’m doing too much work to “justify” these two events, but also again, this is just how I feel about them. I’m not really wanting to psychoanalyze myself here)

Ok, so. The big scene.

I think the two factors I brought up earlier -- intention and audience -- are part of why this scene was so upsetting to me and thus maybe hard for me to be super objective about.

Do I think Thua was justified in finally snapping after being forced to endure merciless bullying and the other assorted horrors of Suppalo? Damn right. Do I think he was right to bring Aye’s lack of impartiality to light? Sure.

Do I think the outing was necessary or justified? NO. First of all, this was in front of the entire school, which is so very obviously the opposite of a safe space. Thua himself knows how hostile and homophobic the administration and many of the students are.

Second of all, I think it’s pretty evident in Louis’ acting that the outing brought him some sense of schadenfreude. He had a smirk on his face. Imo (and as he later said), he was so angry at Aye and Akk for “covering for each other” that he wanted to hurt them. It was an act of revenge before it was an act of providing evidence of a compromised party.

As other people have pointed out, it was super messed up of him to steal Aye’s dead uncle’s journal to try to get between Aye and Akk... and then go beyond that and read it?? 

And then go beyond *that* and up the ante on the curse? And then shout about how Akk and Aye don’t get to use their love to justify their mistakes.. while conveniently forgetting to own up to any of his own actions? I guess I don’t feel like Aye forcing Thua into a half-assed, explanation-free confession and then Thua offering himself up for punishment (that one can assume would be much less publicized) remedies that. 

I also find his words during that “confession/explanation” scene confusing. Akk asks something like “Why have you changed?” and Thua replies (this is a direct quote from the ENG subs) “I think I just feel ashamed seeing younger students make such sacrifices and then be threatened. I think every change requires sacrifice. If my bad action could change anything at all, it was worth it.”

But his bad actions specifically made things so much worse for the younger students???? Thua was responsible for the banner, the account, and the doll. Arguably, his actions were more mentally traumatizing for The World Remembers than having an errant flower pot fall next to them or having red paint flung on their posters (again, not excusing any of that OR the literal Truck oh my God Akk even if it was idling it could’ve seriously hurt someone).

So that doesn’t feel like a satisfactory explanation. 

I guess at the end of the day, I feel so upset because Thua had more pieces of the puzzle than anyone else -- he knew about Aye’s uncle, Akk’s actions, Teacher Chadok’s wrongs, when the curse started, etc. etc. -- and he chose to do *that* about it.

Instead of talking to The World Remembers members and bringing them in on the plan and offering them a way to fight back, he used them just like everyone else did. And hurt them much more in the process.

Instead of confronting Aye (whose actions made it clear he genuinely cares for and respects Thua) with his knowledge of Akk being the curse, he assumed that they were covering for each other and let spite and jealousy fuel him. If he had just talked to Aye, he would’ve found out that Aye wasn’t going to let Akk weasel out of facing concequences (we all know he’d been pushing him to tell the truth for weeks) – in the moment, he was just trying to avoid Akk’s entire mental state being shattered in front of the whole school.

I guess that’s what makes the whole thing feel so tragic for all the characters. If they had just communicated and confided in each other, they could have all worked together. Something something people feeling alone facing oppressive systems and choosing to try to survive alone instead of coming together to fight... 

So yeah. Again, I love that Thua’s character finally had enough. I love that he was allowed to break out of the goody-two-shoes mold and scream and yell and fight. I love that he was allowed to make that mistake. It’s obviously realistic to just say things to hurt people when you’re angry. I think it makes the show more interesting, and obviously that scene had a huge response regardless of people’s positions on it.

But I do think people are allowed to be upset. I’m upset.

He had *so* much time (planning the next moves of the curse, observing Aye and Akk, deciding how to target Chadok) to rethink his choices, and he just kept doubling down. Again, realistic. Again, upsetting.

And I think the reason people are even *more* upset is because there was no resolution to that blatant shit move of his. I know a ton of people have brought it up, but the fact that we didn’t get to hear an *actual* full explanation of his actions, that no one yelled at him because of the outing specifically, that we didn’t get to see them all fall apart again together and end up with stronger friendships because of it..... bull. 

Ik some people feel as though the point was that everyone let go of their hurt with the whole truth out in the open... but I think that’s a cop-out tbh. And I love the sweet moments as much as everyone else, but for the story this show is telling, I think we really needed that scene, and ik they could’ve done so much with it.

TL;DR: I feel so upset at Thua because it feels like he had a more complete picture than everyone else and simply used that insight to make everything worse. The audience needed more closure than cutting to a scene where everyone was making a BL together.. as much as I feel like watching BL “fixes” some of my issues. I wish they would’ve given us an extra episode with those cute scenes and actually addressed what needed to be addressed in this one.

I have another doc appointment this Thursday and psychiatrist appointment on Friday LOL!!!

For now I’m also taking acid blockers to help with my digestion / internal inflammation.

Mostly my biggest L has been nutrition—

I’m doing my best to be healthy and what not but my body nerfs me in some type of way — appetite, digestion, blah blah blah

Tldr;

I lost an unhealthy amount of weight because I can’t digest anything and I could barely eat anything for like a week;

My sis told my mom she thinks I should be institutionalized because she’s afraid I’m going to die from malnutrition 🦆.

I feel the need to state here— I don’t have an eating disorder (in the traditional sense). About a year and a half ago I was suddenly unable to eat: wheat, peanuts, egg whites, milk/anything with lactose 🤪

That’s like. Almost every food ever. LOL.

Most things are made with wheat flour, or eggs or blah blah blah.

So completely changing my diet had me fked up for 6 months; I adjusted — but then my health continued to worsen, and in July we finally learned I had an intestinal infection called H. Pylori—all of July I was treated for that.

The first week of august was okay….and then I slowly started to worsen, more and more and more, until the Nov 1st ER trip <33. Where they told me I had a kidney infection. (And as stated before, I just finished treatment for that.)

Anyways; I LOVE food I LOVE eating; but bro. Do you know how much it fvcking SUCKS when it genuinely hurts to eat? When I am constantly fighting against having no appetite, and the constant nausea after like 3 spoonfuls of food—do y’all know how desolate and desperate that can make a person? Blah >:O

Right.

Half the problems I’ve had with productivity in November can be directly correlated with low blood sugar making it so I can’t think worth of shxt 🫥👻

Mentally —

I think I’ve been okay? I mean whew. Literally last Monday to Wednesday I went through the WORST fvcking paranoia. Y’all would not even BELIEVE— 😩

This Friday I’ll be reconvening with my psychiatrist on what we should do (med wise 🤪).

So yeah — those are the basics of my situation.

(Lmao just now realizing idek if I even told y’all the extent of my intestinal and digestion issues 🥸.)
