Current WIPs/Current Ideas/Random Update

So there's a lot going on in my brain right now and I dont want to be the asshole who posts a poll after every single time I post a fic, but it has worked for me thus far. And if you know me - I have always had more fic ideas than I have had the ability to make decisions. Even before Tumblr got polls, I used to post polls all the time to help decide my next fic. It works well for me

However, I am conflicted about doing another poll because of the inherent bias of the Criminal Minds fandom.

90% of you guys are Spencer lovers, and if I put an Emily fic on the poll, I feel like it will get outvoted no matter what. But I could also be wrong about that - people could be thirsting for an Emily fic because she is lacking attention and vote it up for that reason. But I just hate the idea of people picking based on the character and not their interest in the concept/what would be written about that character

That being said, here's what we're working with:

I am actively working on the Dad Spencer fic (Dirty Laundry - I am slightly tempted to change the title? Idk). I have the beginning finished, and I would say I am about 20% done overall, which is good considering that it's going to be a longer fic. But I really want to work on something else while I am working on it

I love working on shorter smut fics while working on a long emotional fic

And here are my ideas for that:

A Spencelle x (Fem)Reader smut. (I usually default to Fem reader, but if more people want to see a GN reader fic, then I would definitely do that too.) - I had so much fun writing The Perfect Brat and I fucking love the Spenelle dynamic - I feel like it's absolutely something that I need to revisit again. I have a mental image of Spencer tied to a chair with Elle and the reader taunting him and I feel like I need to bring it to life.

The Spencer Cane Smut that was mentioned in the last poll. I compared this to my Abby fic Love From The Other Side (aka the Golf Club fic) - where Abby fucks the reader's pussy with the golf club that she used to kill Joel. Because this fic would be Spencer fucking the reader with his cane. Because the idea wormed into my brain and I need to get it out at some point 😂

I would also love to write more smut for Emily or JJ (maybe both at the same time 👀 Jemily x reader would be so iconic). I do have some drafts for them, which I could post summaries of so people could pick based on those? Idk.

My only issue with putting these ideas into a poll is that Spencer is a grossly popular character, and I feel like putting anything with him in a poll automatically skews the results. And while I love writing for him, I would like the chance to write for some of the other characters who don't get as much attention in fanfiction. So idk what to do

I am also heavily considering opening general requests for shorter things like headcanons/MLTs/reactions. But idk

I was a Covid watcher 😅 During the third or fourth lockdown in the UK, all three of my housemates got covid so I suddenly had nothing to do for a couple weeks while they all recovered (they were all fine after btw!!) and one of them had been suggesting I watch it for a while because she was in love with JJ (REAL). I binged 11 seasons in two weeks and haven't shut up about it since.

26. Headcanon that you personally just can't get on board with

Definitely anything to do with Jeid being romantic, especially the fan theory about Spencer being Henry's dad. I LOVE their friendship and it's massively underrated when people talk about the platonic love the team has together, but anytime anyone brings up Jeid and proof of it my ears are suddenly elsewhere and wow is that the time, I have to go. Sorry! 👋

29. Best trope in the fandom's writing (in your opinion)

Give me a fake dating story and I'll eat that shit up, that's MY SHIT. I love it when it's Spencer x Reader, and I love writing it myself, and please PLEASE if anyone has any Garvez/ Jemily/ Temily fake dating fics or any Spencer x Reader fake dating fics that I maybe haven't come across before (or ones I could reread oops) PLEASE SEND THEM MY WAY ❤️❤️

ok so i’ve always pictured emily as the mean dom and jj as the soft dom

so when readers being such a little brat doing things she knows ticks emily off

emily’s like “punishment. now.😡”

and jj tries to convince emily to go easy on her

for this particular situation i picture reader as a bit of a pillow preference

so of course emily decides that she gets no touch from her, jj, or herself

jj still feels sort of bad, however she is also benefiting from readers punishment so she doesn’t feel that sorry for her

emily makes reader sit on the floor as an extra blow to her ego while she eats jj out on the bed

and the entire time readers mewling and whining wishing that she was in jj’s place

sometimes jj steals glances at her but that’s about all the acknowledgment she gets

or when she tries to touch herself and emily yells at her that she’ll add on to her punishment if she can’t be good

and after she and jj switch places emily decides that she’s probably learned her lesson

but that doesn’t mean she gets any touching still

jj’s of course insistent of some sweet aftercare

so they run reader a bath reminding her that she’s still a good girl, she just needs to be reminded to keep it that way sometimes

you arrive at the bau and jj is the first person to greet you

it’s august 21st which means it’s fanfiction writer appreciation day! honestly, as a writer, i wish i had more time to read fics but i do the best i can to make time. this is going to be a HARD list for me to make because everyone in this fandom is an INCREDIBLE writer (and far better than i am) but i’ll try to keep this short and sweet. (no i won’t, i love rambling. you know it, i know it, we all know it.)

this will all be under a ‘read more’ so it doesn’t clog up anyone’s dash ♥ 

@divinereid‘s literal everything is just... awe-inspiring. taylor has an amazing way of capturing a character’s essence and personality incredibly well. everything she writes has so much attention to and care for detail. whenever i finish one of her fics, i struggle to find words to describe how i’m feeling. i always feel like i’ve just finished a published novel rather than a fanfiction when reading taylor’s work. highly recommended works include politics & violence (hotch x reader), domestic bliss (hotch x reader), and heat waves (mgg x reader). 

@agenthotchner​‘s fics were some of the FIRST i ever read for the cm fandom and especially for aaron hotchner. what honestly drew me to snow’s page was how much everyone praised her writing and they were all so so incredibly right. snow’s fics were also the first ones that made me realize my writing is not good enough for this fandom when there’s so many other talented people LIKE SNOW out there. i literally don’t know how snow makes it look so easy. and it’s not just her fics - her drabbles and headcanons are so on point and just... marvelous. highly recommended works include birthday cuddles (hotch x reader), marry me (hotch x reader), and sunshine (hotch x reader) (sunshine holds a very special place in my heart because that’s my nickname AND my mom used to sing that sunshine song to me every morning as a kid) 

@linguinereid... literally all i want to do when i think about bee’s writing is cry and scream at the same time because it’s THAT good. bee is another writer i envy because i wish i could write half as well as her and i also ADORE her writing because her voice is so unique to her and i don’t think anyone else could ever pull it off. bee's intelligence really shows through her writing and i swear to god her vocabulary use just SLAPS me across the face as i read her fics. bee is also the sole reason my heart has been broken and then taped back together and then broken AGAIN and then taped back together... i love bee but she has broken my heart more than any of the white boys i've ever dated have. highly recommended works include mellilla (reid x reader), the 36 types of spencer reid kisses (there’s... 36 here but they’re all SO GOOD i... gotta link the masterlist), we fell in love in october (reid x reader), and orpheus and eurydice (reid x reader). 

next up is @davidrossi-ismydad! i’ll be honest - i don’t read a LOT of nsfw fics because i’m not often in that mood so i haven’t read ALL of sammy’s masterlist (and i hate that i haven’t). HOWEVER, i will say, the ones i have read still stick with me to this day. there are fics of sammy’s i thought about almost every day before i even knew they were by sammy. not only is sammy one of the nicest and most fun people in this fandom, but he’s also an AMAZING writer and i will continue to say that until he believes me. everyone in this fandom has a different voice and perspective when they write and sammy’s is SO good and intriguing to me. highly recommended works include x, x, and this blurb and this drabble. 

@heat-waveee writes the only jemily fics i read and EVERY SINGLE ONE is outstanding. lauren’s characterization is so incredibly on point like i could really see her fics BEING CANON so so easily. honestly, lauren should have been the sole writer on criminal minds in the first place. highly recommended works include: the poems on your skin series and the what’s yours will find you series. 

from here on out, i’m just gonna spam with writers i love because i am RUNNING OUT OF WORDS and it’s late but please know... if i have ever reblogged or liked your fic, that was me giving you a big ol’ forehead smooch and telling you i love you and i’m proud of you and to keep writing because you’re AMAZING.
