I'm going to come out and say that the more I re-read MDZS the more I actually HATE WWX.

I know he's a protag so everything is supposed to be about "poor me I've done nothing wrong" but I can't stand those types of people. He would be a person where if he existed in real life I would not be able to be around him.

I've actually become more of a Jiang Cheng apologist (actually, no, because that implies that he's ever done anything wrong).

I read through all the main points and here are a few things that piss me off. Please add on if I missed something:

WWX is obviously favored by JFM and if JC brings up this concern, all WWX says is: "no he doesn't lol you're so silly I'm not his son" TBH WWX wasn't his child but JFM had a son and it wasn't JC

Golden Core transfer. Need I say less (and fuck you Wen Ning for saying JC didn't deserve the core and the power he had wasnt actually his. He cultivated it for YEARS to get it to where it is today. It is NOT WWXs core anymore. Fuck all yall)

WWX defecting from YMJ and going with the Wens when JC had NOTHING. No sect, no support, no family. He's a new sect leader and has no resources or money to do anything or go against anyone. And thanks WWX for defending the people that, you know, massacred his family but whatever. (I understand they were innocent but still, I can tell it would really hurt JC)

Along with the defecting, WWX and LWJ broke into Lotus Pier and BOWED TO MADAM YU AND JFM WITHOUT JCs APPROVAL. DISRESPECTFUL AS HELL I KNOW WHY JC WAS PISSED. WWX had NO RIGHT to be there after everything he had done.

WWX tells JC to leave everything in the past. As usual, he is running away and not accepting any consequences for the many, many, things he's done wrong. If I were JC, I would permanently ban him from Lotus Pier and kill on sight because if he wants to leave things in the past, then that includes WWX.

Lastly, WWX never once defends JC. Whether it be against LWJ, Wen Ning, or other people that say terrible shit to him because they're being petty. Not once does he come to his defense.

To end my rant, WWX is actually a very terrible person (and so is Lan Wangji. Fight me) with no sense and I finally realized it after re reading the book multiple times. Come at me if you want but this is my honest opinion and I get why JC is such an ass because BITCH ME TOO GET OUT OF MY HOUSE.

Hopefully I have some support here but I also know I'm going to get some hate.

Time of High Energy, Kins Coalesce

Lately I have been utterly exhausted. Struggling with my ADHD even on meds, caring for my wife and kids as we've all been sick on and off, and dealing with mental confusion and exhaustion due to high energy all over the place. People have been irritable, myself included. several of my kins have been hitting me shifts all at once to the point that they almost feel like these multiple facets are trying to combine within me and present themselves simultaneously. I chose this fan art that I adored as a bit of an example of this. This piece depicts Link wearing a combination of Fierce Deity and Hero's Shade armors.

The Hero of Time temporarily became the Fierce Deity while in Termina and later became the Hero's Shade who taught the secret sword techniques to the Hero of Twilight.

Link is one of my highest kins. All Links, but especially Hero of Time. Another strong kin is Fierce Deity of Termina who I see as almost like the Terminian counterpart to Lady Hylia. I also have a deep connection to Hero of the Skies and Hero of the Wilds. All of those are cominng together and showing me a new connection. an AU where in at least one life, Link as the hero is Sheikah.

I also have a very elven nature in general. Many types of elves. Tengu is also quite a powerful facet of myself as a follower of the teachings of Sarutahiko no Okami. Connections with Chinese Taoist Qi cultivation as well as Buddhism lead to a feeling of deep connection with Chinese fantasy characters such as Xuanmin from the novel Copper Coins and Lan Wangji from the novel Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation. All of these are also coalescing into this mix as well and the inability to settle is becoming frustrating. I need to meditate and practice equanimity so I may feel some peace in this time.

Martial arts and energy work are important parts of myself. I especially love the sword as both a weapon and as a spiritual tool. I cannot afford much in the way of a quality blade so I can't have the kinds of collections many have. I also do not wish to have so much unnecessary clutter as well. That is a struggle I'm already dealing with with the things already in my possession. I believe I have myself narrowed down to one blade which will fit all of these facets of myself well, especially as they continue to combine and the shifts fluctuate.

I never actually got around to liking Jiang Cheng, but I did begrudgingly stop hating him as life went on. Wei Ying and he made up as much as they could and I was therefore required to spend time with him.

That being said, i am now a fierce jiang cheng fan in this life and it is annoying. Jiang Cheng Did Many Things Wrong But the Situations Surrounding Those Decisions Made Sense.

I have seen that post about how WangXian owe their happiness to Nie Huaisang.

Okay, I don't know how people even come into such conclusion, but it is very clear that between WangXian and Nie Huaisang, it is a win-win situation. If anything, it is even more beneficial to Nie Huaisang.

1. NHS knew where did NMJ's body parts got thrown into. But he needs someone, to uncover the case.

Someone with considerable status and weight in their action and words. That someone is Hanguang-Jun. NHS must be betting that between JGY and LWJ, Lan Xichen would listen to his blood related brother more. Or even in the worst case where LXC was caught too deep in the lies woven by JGY, there are still Lan Qiren and other Gusulan member who would definitely chose to support their own kin Lan Wangji over the outsider, JGY (when things got worse).

2. However, just to uncover the case is not enough. He needs to completely overthrow JGY. And to achieve that smoothly, Nie Huaisang needs cover. Desperately needs someone who can cover the sky and the ground, and make him completely invisible.

That person can only be Wei Wuxian. WWX is like a bright light bulb, whenever WWX appears moths gathers. Whenever WWX appears he would always be the center of attention. It has always been the case. The reason why NHS chose to revive WWX was not only to add more manpower to fight against LanlingJin who has Xue Yang and Stygian Tiger Seal, or help to quell NMJ's transformed ghoul, but also to make WWX attract all the firepower and attention.

To put it simply, WWX is there to attract aggro from the monsters in a game! LOL

So when WWX is there, NHS can leisurely hide in the shades, leisurely pull the string, until the end of the orchestra. And that is really how it went on, in MDZS.

Why did NHS need cover? Naturally to hide from JGY and from the rest of cultivation sects, so that they won't meddle and ruin all his plan. WangXian knew from the early investigation that there are 2 parties who wanted to hide and wanted to uncover. So, how could JGY not notice such thing when he heard Hanguang-Jun is investigating NMJ body parts?

However, when there is WWX who attract all attention, JGY will have no time to think about the mastermind and focus on how to quickly reclaimed NMJ body parts, Xue Yang, Wen Ning, Yi City, and Stygian Tiger Seal. And that is how it did in MDZS. JGY was suddenly poured so much trouble in just 1-2 months of WWX's revival that he has no time to properly sort out the real enemy. He will focus more on how to lie toward LXC about the body parts, how to throw the blame into WWX, how to arrange things etc. But will have no time to investigate the mastermind behind.

Just like how WWX understands that NHS is not the pustule waste everyone mocks him as, but someone whose intelligence was put on something else, based on his observation during the 3 months of their acquaintance,

NHS also understands that WWX is someone who is destined to be the center of the room whenever he appears, based on WWX's personality and ability. This person will definitely gain his own place, and attract all attention wherever and whenever.

During their youth it is has been so. During the Qishan Education and Xuanwu cave it was also like that. During the war it was especially so. And even during his retreat as Yiling Laozu it was still like that. And finally even dying he has always been the center of attention. Lol.

NHS knew that perfectly. WWX is destined to gather all eyes on him and leave no space for others to be noticed😂 and that is why NHS chose him as the best cover.

i HATED mdzs but mostly bc lan wangji is such a stuck up cunt that it completely ruined the vibe for me. also the timeline was weird and it was hard to tell what was a flashback or not and there were justway too many flashbacks in the first place. i genuinely DO. NOT. understand how mdzs can be the most popular of mxtx's works 😭 i didn't find it enjoyable in the least. (but in true shen yuan kin fashion i read the whole thing)

tbf most people probably dont notice lwj’s sucky behaviour during their first read through. I certainly didn’t. There was a lot of dog food to distract you lololol

imo he’s not that different from jc; they’re similar in certain aspects but lwj gets away with his behaviour by fandom since he’s the ml and jc isn’t. i’ve sort of learnt to accept it as just the way the cookie crumbles atp lol

i agree there were too many flashbacks back-to-back 😵‍💫

but i personally love the book and i think it deserves a lot of its love; i thought it was a fascinating story, had an awesome protagonist, compelling cast of characters, great moral themes, plus i enjoy tragedy haha

also it gave us Jiang Cheng and Jin Ling, two of the best fictional characters ever created 🤗
