Brief Valentine’s Day Plans with Heartsteel

Inspiration: Hahahaha I’m so very single (I’m really fine with that. I gotta focus on myself at the moment) but I love LOVE so you all get this. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Champions: Heartsteel

Type: Fluff. *small sigh* I restrained myself.

Aphelios

I can’t see Phel doing anything super out there or dramatic. That just doesn’t seem like him. But you know what I can see him doing?

Getting your fav takeout and throwing a cute little couples game night for the two of you. Cards, board games, video games, etc. Music he made in the background to set the fun vibe.

I have to think Aphelios is a gamer. Like I’d be so shocked if he wasn’t. Besides card and board games I’m thinking he’s both a pc and console gamer and he’s a big Nintendo guy.

He loves Smash Bros, Mario Kart, or Splatoon, and you two are working through Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom together. And while Phel’s super competitive in multiplayer games, he’s been teaching you tricks! (You’re the only one he’ll teach. Everyone else can just deal.)

It’d just be a lovely night. Hanging with your favorite person and having a great time doing something you enjoy together. Frankly those are some of my very favorite types of dates.

Ezreal

Very fun and very sweet. Heart fluttering. That’s what Valentine’s Day with Heartsteel Ezreal would be like.

I’m imagining a mix of like classic romantic gestures with some fun “young love” type vibes. Like he’s getting you flowers and taking you out to a nice dinner….

And then afterwards both of you go to an arcade/arcade bar and just have a fucking blast together. God help you when you try and take Ez on in air hockey or ski ball though. His AIM. Or in DDR? He’ll absolutely distract you so you don’t beat his score. (Distract him back!!)

But it’s fine because all those tickets he’s winning, he’s spending on you. Or on stuff that both of you can use. Like matching plushies or fidget toys. (So cute oml.)

Just an day/evening of fun moments, sweet kisses, and that feeling of young love, even if you’ve been with Ezreal for years.

Kayn

You might think Heartsteel’s resident bad boy is not very romantic. But, I truly believe Kayn can be, just in his own way of course! I don’t think super sappy romantic gestures are his thing. But having experiences with you is something he treasures.

I can imagine him picking you up and taking you somewhere far outside the city at night. A surprise location in the country. Somewhere quiet and peaceful.

And what does Kayn have planned? Well he packed pillows, blankets, your favorite drinks, and…a picnic basket! He’s planned a surprise picnic under the stars!

I feel like Kayn is really great to have deep conversations with, but you have to be someone special to have such talks with him. Him being so vulnerable indicates the extremely deep level of trust he has with and love he has for you.

Enjoy star gazing, cuddling, and chatting the night away with your person. What a super sweet way to get even closer to each other, no matter how long you’ve been with him.

K’Sante

Oh this would be an excellent Valentine’s Day with those classical romance vibes. K’Sante is fully about to wine and dine you, baby. Enjoy that shit. You’re getting spoiled like you absolutely deserve.

Buys/makes you a whole new outfit because you deserve it. If he doesn’t make you a full outfit he at least helps make part of it. Like accessories or something.

Reservation at one of the nicest restaurants in the city. K’Sante always thinks ahead and made it months in advance. (See why he’s one of the leaders of HS?)

Afterwards driving to an overlook and just watching the lights and talking about anything and everything. Moments filled with soft words and even softer kisses.

Just the classic movie-esque romantic night and I’m all for it (lmao I’m such a romantic). K’Sante definitely knows how to make your heart beat faster.

Sett

(Lord help me I gotta stop myself from going off the rails but he’d be so damn good at this.)

You want romance? By fucking god Sett’s going to give you ROMANCE, darling. He’s a gentleman.

He’s making a full meal from scratch (it’s your favorite meal of his that he makes), and also setting the ambiance. Table set, candles, lights low, flowers/other presents he knows you’ll like. The whole nine yards.

Sett’s not letting you lift a finger either. The most he’ll let you do is help pre-rinse some of the dishes after dinner. He’s in full Prince Charming mode and it’s excellent.

You thought the night ended at dinner? Wrong. Bubble bath with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. Fluffy bath robes. Doing each others skin care. All the sweet shit.

And afterwards? Well just be patient and see where the night takes you. 😉 But overall what a lovely and romantic night with Sett, your gentleman of a partner. (I’m swooning just thinking about it.)

Yone

Your love/relationship with Yone isn’t loud or bombastic. It’s steady and unwavering. And that vibe is how Valentine’s Day is for the two of you.

He picks you up and brings you to his studio where he’s spiffed it up! Your favorite flowers in a vase. Both of your favorite take out (the place he took you on your first date) on a table w/ candles.

Yone’s got music playing softly in the background (a playlist he made just for you for Valentine’s Day of course). It’s every single song that makes him think of you. (When you ask him out of curiosity how long the playlist is, your ever-stoic partner turns a little pink as he mumbles, “o-over 4 hours….”)

During the slow songs Yone will even dance with you a little because he loves how it makes you smile. While dancing, he’ll rest his chin on your head if you’re short enough. And once you’re done dancing, you two can cuddle on the couch in his studio and do/talk about whatever.

It’s not over the top. It’s not grand. But it’s an intimate and personal night with the love of your life and truly nothing can be better than that.

Two years ago, not so much after the Arcane s1 premiere, I got a superstrange headcanon that Ezreal is Viktor's son, who he lost as a baby in the end of the future Arcane s2 events, and Jayce was the one who found that baby, gave it to the adopted family of some Piltover archeologists, but still participated in his upbringing, and that's why Ez is who he is.

Don't ask me how it came to my mind, just embrace it.

Why I decided to share it now? Dunno, but I think this meme suits well

Hello dear anon! First I would like to apologize to everyone for the delay, I'm going through a chronic procrastination crisis, however, I want to continue doing what makes me happy, which is writing and seeing people read my work.

Sett, the Boss

The boss is quite intimidating, that is unquestionable, everyone has a certain fear coming from his presence and this makes him proud of himself, increasing his ego with each passing day. But he's not as intimidating as they think he is. He has some secrets he wouldn't want any living soul to discover. Embarrassing secrets, however... Cute.

Sett loves to cuddle behind the ears, just like animals, this is part of his vastaya side. He might even purr a few times if he's comfortable with it.

His injuries after battles in his arena are often severe, but he doesn't care at all, as long as you is taking care of him, you can tell he would even hurt himself on purpose for these moments to happen.

Irelia, the Blade Dancer

Irelia is very serious and convinced with her goals of protecting her people from any threat. She can appear to be cold at times, but... Like any human she has her sweet side that she can't hide from you, no matter how much she tries.

Everyone knows that she loved to dance before it became an obligation before the wars in Ionia, there are rare moments when she stops and has fun, but in some cases she dances with the person she loves the most, not caring when you misses or is very clumsy, that is one of the few diversions of her day, seeing your face smile beside hers.

The pressure of so many people to trust her blindly it's so much on her shoulder that Irelia often isolates herself, she has to be firm and hold out until the last twirl of her blades. But the times when she needed to isolate herself, she felt comfortable cuddling with you, that was what she needed to get all her strength back.

I'm truly sorry for everyone who wants multiple characters for their request when I choose only one to write about, I'm going to play favoritr here, these men have been at some point my league crush (only kayn stayed, he is the best) so I wanted to write about the 3 of them as husband and couldn't choose...

And I often forget it in my A/N but thank you to everyone who complement my writings and who wish me good days etc, it's always pleasing to read <3, as always since I'm catching up with the request, hope it won't prevent you from liking the headcanons!

Kayn :

I don't know if the order of shadow accept among them people who aren't acolyte but like partner anf s/o of an acolyte

If that's the case then kayn will use this to make you install with him among the order

Or else he'll buy his own house not far from the order where both of you will live together when he isn't in a mission or at the temple

He did a lot of mission by himself so he know the basics of cooking

But he can't clean for the life of him, even rhaast, if you don't clean rhaast yourself rhaast will stay your floor with blood

He can and will pout if you don't want to take a bath with him to relax when he go home

You're one of the few person outside his mission who know when he go, where and when he'll come back

When he is out on a mission he'll send you letter via birds

He don't actively seek a family with children but won't mind having one or two

If you find an orphan needing a shelter Kayn won't think twice before adopting them, at some point he was an orphan too, and without master zed he would probably ended up dead, that's his way to help someone too

If his s/o is fem aligned and get pregnant by accident he'll treat them as porcelain

Again even if the child is an accident he'll welcome them, the same way he can't let an orphan on the street, he won't let his own child become one

Wether or not the potential child is adopted he will love them a lot and train them so they can survive once they're grown up too

Coming back to husband kayn

When he comes home he'll probably going to sleep whenever, the couch? Great! The bed? Awesome! His s/o laps? He is almost running for it!

Outside of the house PDA happens but is limited with hand holding or light kiss on the cheek/forehead ; ionia is a traditional place plus since kayn is part of the shadow order he need to put up a though facade

But once it's just the two of you he is glued to you

Even when the both of you fight, he don't like being mad at you, so when itns time for bed he suggest that at list you hold hands with him, just making sure you're still with him

In the case you live in the order with him he introduce you as his husband/wife to the other acolyte

And you swore on your own life you're never telling kayn this but the way Kayn told Zed the two of you were married looked like a son presenting his partner to his father

The order can be like a family for a lot of people, kayn is one of them, and he is glad you've become a member of his family too

Aphelios :

I'm sorry for you but this man was already a mess for the proposal AND the wedding

He can't process the fact that you're going to be his

The day of the wedding he didn't take his medicine which made him mute so he could talk to you during the whole day

Even if Alune isn't physically with you you swore she is with both of you to protect the both of you and your marriage

Aphelios and you have your own language based on hand sign to talk to each other daily without your voice

Your home is unsurprisingly very quiet

He is a very domestic man, he cook, he clean when you come back from your day he already have a bath ready for you and join you from time to time

He'll not let his mission against the solari go between the two of you but sometimes he can't help it, coming late, not coming back for a few days or even coming back drenched in blood, he don't do it because he likes it but because that's his duty

However when he can he'll tell you when he comes back and when his departure is

He is so sweet too, always peppering your face with kiss and hugs when you're together

He want a family, if he can even twins, a boy and a girl, but he won't raise them the same way he was becaude in the end, before meeting you, when alune were gone, he felt terribly alone

Fight rarely happen at all, when they are he either try to communicate each other point of you to resolve it before bed, or if it can't be resolved before bed he'll spoon you and gather all his strength in his voice to go through the poison in his system and tell you he is sorry

His voice is barely audible and seems very tired but you heard it crystal clear

Even if he know it probably will never happen his dream life would be you, him, your children, adopted or not, in a little house among a lunari village at Targon

But to make this dream true he'll have to make sure you guys, and all the lunari will remain safe from the solari oppression

And only him is able to do that for now

Sett :

He may be a pit fighter and somewhat of a brute his mother raised him very well

Cooking, cleaning, she made sure that if anything were to happen to her and she wouldn't be able to take care of sett anymore he would be able to take care of his own house by himself

When he decided he wanted to marry you he organized himself a dinner with you and his mother, at the end of dinner when you were heading back to your house sett asked his mom what she honestly thought of you, because he was thinking of marrying you

The whole relationship depended on that question, for Sett it was inconceivable to marry someone his mother didn't approuve of, but you were lovely and well behaved so she gave both of you her blessing

Next time Sett took you out for dinner he already had a ring with him a whole cake were supposed to be served as dessert with written on it "will you marry me" and that's when he was supposed to make his proposal, which of course you said yes

Now that Sett is going to be married he wanted you guys to have your own house instead of going to his mom's place since he lived with her or going to yours, with his wealth earned from the pit he bought a almost too luxurious house near his mother's home so he could still be close to her

As stated previously he can help a lot with the chores, and he will

You feel a bit tired? He is running a bath and in a hour dinner will be ready, how does that sound?

He make an effort to be sure to at least come home early and treat you to go somewhere once a week, and another time per week he come home early to have dinner with you and his mother

You mother in law is the sweetest woman ever, you have allergies but she want to make that dish with what's your allergic in it? She is either taking it off for the recipe if possible or straight up cook you another meal altogether

She know by heart your favorite food and she'll be damned if when you come back from dinner at her place you don't come back with some

Usually during dinner Sett sit after you because he bring your chair close to the table as a gentleman should, and if he can he hold your hand during the entire meal

Sett also like to shower you with gift, you're his wife, a member of his family, and you know what he does with his family (except for his dad)? He spoil them rotten ; he know you're not with him for money but he love to see you in these ionian silk outfits

Just like Kayn he grew up without a father and that affected him for a good part of his life, so if he saw an orphan and his s/o and him where talking about having children, he probably wouldn't be opposed to shelter them or maybe even adopting them if the cohabitation goes well

And if his s/o is fem aligned and get pregnant by accident he isn't going to run away like his father did, truth be told he lay even look forward to see if his kid is going to have tiny vastayan ears like he did when younger

The last thing I could say because I can go on and on about Sett as a husband is that now you're granted to come and go to the pit as you please, you need a rest during the day and the pit is nearby? Why don't you come to say hi to your lovely husband, he miss you, you know?

A very good and competent husband altogether

A - Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

Typically Viktor does not show affection in the most typical or conventional sense. Occasionally, when the two of you are alone, he will do - the occasional brief kiss against your temple, or a sleepy hug. His primary way of showing affection is through a combination of acts of service and gift giving. He’ll make small trinkets to make your daily life easier, or just something he knows you will enjoy.

B - Best Friend (What would they be like as a best friend? Where does the friendship start?)

Viktor is a combination of the snarky friend, and the concern friend. He’ll sass you when the moment is right, but then, if something’s worrying him about you, he’ll show that he’s worried.

C - Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

Viktor doesn’t often cuddle - he’s rather touch-starved and can be a little awkward around cuddling at times. Unless he’s asleep - then he loves cuddling. He’ll snuggle up to you, and nuzzle into you - the works.

D - Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking, cleaning, ect?)

He’s not great at cooking - usually his main meals were provided by the academy. He can make a few, small meals, but nothing grand. Cleaning he’s alright at - not that his workshop would tell you that.

E - Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

It’s likely he’ll just completely blank you for several days, pouring himself into his work rather than socialising. Eventually, if you mention about it, he will tell you rather bluntly how he feels - or, rather, how he no longer feels. After that, he will fall silent, and continue ignoring you again.

F - Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? Do they wanna get married?)

Viktor feels he is too committed to his work to settle down in that way with you. It’s not that he doesn’t want to - it’s more that he does not feel he will be able to balance his life at work and his life as a partner in a productive or healthy way.

G - Gentle (How gentle are they both physically and emotionally?)

Viktor isn’t entirely certain on other’s people’s emotions all of the time. He can identify some of the basics, of course, but may struggle in figuring out why someone feels that way, or knowing how to help. It will take him some time, but he will learn how to take care of you emotionally should you need it. Physically he is quite gentle, always approaching you with a feather-light touch. As if you are nothing more than a dream, something akin to quicksand; if he tries to grip you too tightly (both figuratively and literally), you will escape his grasp.

H - Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it, and what are they like?)

At first, Viktor will be a little nervous and unsure of of hugs, much like with his cuddles. He’ll probably grow somewhat accustomed to hugs after some time, and may even become dependent on them to some degree. At first they are awkward, and he’s not entirely sure where to put his arms, or what to do, so most of the time you’re given an awkward pat on the back. Over time and with some practice (or ‘experimentation’ as Viktor mentally dubs it) they become less strained and more natural, more human and emotional, in a sense.

I - I Love You (How fast do they say the “love” word?)

Viktor does not say this for a very, very long time. You could have said it five times or more before he even considers it; purely out of fear. Even if you say it several times before him, he has somehow convinced himself that you would not, could not, feel the same way. The first time he does say it, it’s quiet - as if saying the words risk his own life; and he supposed, in a way, he thought it did. If you were to reject him, his love, he would never recover from it. You don’t hear him this time - he has to take two or three more stabs at it before he finally manages to tell you properly.

J - Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What are they like when jealous?)

Viktor will get quietly jealous- but if you know him even a little bit, he’ll be easy to read. He’ll start pouring himself into his work again, giving you only huffs or grunts in reply to your questions. If you’re lucky, he might give you a short, curt word or sentence. “Viktor?” “Hm?” “Are you alright?” “Yes.” “Are you sure? It’s just you’ve been a little quiet today, and I was wondering if something was upsetting you...” “I am fine.”

K - Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

Viktor loves receiving kisses - but like with hugs and cuddles, he’s a little under-experienced when it comes to giving them. His favourite place to be kissed - his cheek - is basic, but to him, it shows plenty of affection. He likes to kiss you on your hands and fingers when he gains the confidence, taking care with each individual kiss.

L - Little Ones (How are they around kids?)

Viktor is alright seriously mentoring kids above a certain age, and will help younger kids with work in school; but as a parent he feels like he wouldn’t be able to fare too well, and would end up hindering the child more than helping them.

M - Morning (What are mornings like with them?)

Viktor is often up much earlier than you, leaving you to wake up alone. On the plus(?) side, however, he normally opts out of making himself breakfast before either leaving for the academy or starting to work, so you get the opportunity to make him breakfast most mornings.

N - Nights (How are nights spent with them?)

Viktor will spend his time working until ungodly hours; most of the time you will have to gently coax him away from his project with promise of good rest, and a lot of affection.

O - Open (When do they open up about themselves?)

If you ask, he’ll tell. Otherwise, information about his childhood, insecurities and the like come in dribs and drabs. He doesn’t try to actively hide any of this from you, but he won’t directly open up about it unless you ask.

P - Patience (How easily angered are they?)

He has a decent amount of patience - considering he has worked on the same tech for god knows how long, only growing frustrated when those around him do not realise the intent of his work, and realising his days are numbered. Outside of this, though, he has a lot of patience.

Q - Quizzes (How much do they remember about you?)

A lot - if you tell him your favourite food, or your favourite colour, he will find a way to remind you every so often, that he remembers, that he cares about you. He’ll even get Jayce to get you your favourite food on his behalf, if he’s unable.

R - Remember (Favorite memory with you?)

He was starting to teach you his and Jayce’s theory surrounding Hextech. He was speaking very passionately about his personal plans concerning the technology - helping others and improving their lives with something that could quite literally change your worlds. He paused at one point, realising how long he had been talking for, before glancing to see if you were paying attention. Not only were you paying attention, the amount of love he saw in your eyes was so endearing he almost burst out in tears of both relief and joy.

S - Security (How protective are they?)

He’s quite secure in the way that he trusts you. He knows full well you can look after yourself well enough - and he’s aware of the fact that he can do little himself. He knows you would come to him if there was anything you needed - whether that be a place to vent, or some advice. If you wanted a physical protector he’d ask Jayce.

T - Try (How much effort do they put in?)

Viktor’s primary struggle is with balancing his work life, with his personal life. Oftentimes, he spends far too much time in his workshop, the rest of the world out of sight and out of mind for him. Though, when he realises how long it’s been since he’s checked in or seen you, he will work just as hard to make it up to you. Yes, it can be a viscous cycle, but he’s working hard to both show his love for you, and improve the lives of the public.

U - Ugly (What are their bad habits?)

Neglecting himself. He forgets to take care of himself - sleeping, eating, sometimes hygiene also. It gets very bad on a somewhat regular basis; you may have to convince him to step away from his work to take care of himself. (You may also have to help him).

V - Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

Not overly; he’ll make himself presentable for the academy, but outside of that, he isn’t too bothered about how he appears. That is, until, you invited him out on a date - he then starts to panic. “I’ve got nothing to wear that would appeal to them, Jayce! What do I wear?” He’s pacing back and forth, stressing over something that likely won’t make too much of a difference in the long run - over every little detail to try and appear to you as the perfect man, the one you want to be with, not just the one you put up with.

W - Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

He would - he’d miss your presence, your gentle reminders for him to take care of himself. He misses your comfort at night - the way you would hold him, the quiet whispers of reassurance. He missed receiving that - he missed giving that. Needless to say, he would isolate himself further to prevent himself from ever feeling this pain again.

X - Xtra (Random HC)

Viktor has made you many random little gadgets for around your home; a machine to help you make your morning drink? Simple. A little robot to entertain you and keep you company? Oh, but of course. His favourite trinket that he gave you was a small music box, which played your favourite lullaby.

Y - Yuck (Things they don’t like either in general or a partner?)

Just a little cheer up after I was gone for so long.

Kayn Scenario You aren't well, and Kayn tries to do his best.

You sit on the bench with your legs pulled up to your chest. You feel comfortable like this. You can't see the world when your face is on your knees. For a second, it all doesn't exist. The cushion bends down as someone sits beside you, making you focus on reality and the harsh world. The person leans closer to you for a hug. You can feel yourself melt as your eyes burn and tears run down your cheeks. "I can't do this." You say to the man, Kayn. He makes you look up to him; his yellow eye never held such a kind expression. "What can't you do?" Kayn asks you calmly. You have no answer. You can't pinpoint your frustration, making you more frustrated than before. "Everything. Everything is unfair, and I can't do anything." Kayn rubs your back holding you close. "Life is like that. But we have each other. I will never let you down and stay by your side." Kayn got up from the bench, making you follow him. You trust him enough not to ask where he is leading you. He pulls you outside and stops in front of a huge tree. "Come on, if you climb up without my help, you get a kiss." You blink the last tears away and jump at the tree, quickly climbing up. After all, you are an assassin just like he is, and this is easy. You sit down at the top of the trunk, small branches holding leaves reach far over your head. But you can't comfortably sit on those thin branches, so you stay at the biggest spot.

Kayn kisses you as soon as he gets up as well. "Lay down and look to the stars." You do as he says and notice a hole in the treetop, the leaves part, giving a fantastic view of the night sky. "This is wonderful, Kayn." You tell him while you look up at the star constellations. "I wish I could smile for you." He kisses your forehead and holds your hand. "You never have to force a smile for me. I am glad that you are feeling better. It has to be difficult for you at the Order of Shadow when you aren't used to it." You nod because you are at a loss for words. His behaviour is too sweet. "You have to promise you two things." You grab his hand tighter, signalling to go on. "Don't leave me." Your expression softens as you. "I will never leave you, I promise." You can give him this promise without worrying about ever breaking it. "Second. You can't tell anyone I am like this when I am around you." You feel the corners of your mouth rise, and you grin. "I can't promise that." He pokes you in the side, and you both start laughing. It is better to stop being so serious. You needed it when you felt down. Now you both need to feel good and laugh.

It took you some time to realize it and even more time to find the courage to talk to Ekko about it in private.

It is not the fear of acceptance that scares you, but how that will affect your relationship.

But this doesn’t affect the relationship in any way.

"That’s it? You looked like you were about to cry, I thought it was something serious."

Inspiration: This was one of the of ideas that got me to start this account lol. I’m also in the process of writing a fic based on this idea and it would be so much easier to just reference this post in the header rather than explain everything in the prose.

Champion: Ezreal (like Pilty!Ezreal/Explorer!Ezreal)

Category: TINIEST amount of angst but primarily FLUFF and SMUT - I mean what were you expecting. We're talking about best friends with benefits here. Typically the benefits are of an adult nature. 18+ ONLY. MINORS DO NOT INTERACT.

Length: This is a looooong one, friends. In my defense, I'm using this headcanon as world-building/background information for at least 1 future fic (It's quickly turning into multiple parts lmao).

Gender: Fem!Reader/reader who is fem presenting? Ahhhh even my non-binary ass doesn't know how to describe this...mention of dresses and stuff.

These collaborations led to you and Ezreal being together often as kids since you were around the same age, and a close friendship developed.

To the point of casual physical affection (hugs, hand holding, occasional cuddles) and silly nicknames for each other. He calls you princess, you call him…idiot mostly. (Jk…kinda.) You’ve called him Indiana Jones for forever since he was just as fascinated about archeology/artifacts as his parents.

You have called him an idiot many times though, especially when he’s been extremely rash and reckless.

At various points in your friendship, people have seen the two of you and assumed you had to be dating. It’s hysterical to both of you.

“Me dating Ezreal?! Nah, he’s just my best friend.”

You’re one of the few people who can humble Ezreal, a specialty of yours since early on in your friendship.

You: *In your father’s office studying while he teaches a lecture to one of his classes in a nearby lecture hall*

Ez: *Runs into the office, breathlessly laughing as he leans against the now closed door, holding a toupee*

You: *Eyebrows raise* Whatcha got there, Ez?

Ez: *grins* One of the campus warden’s toupees!

You: *Stares at him for a second and sighs* You’re a moron….*goes back to studying*

After his parents’ disappearance, you were understandably worried for Ezreal. You watched as your best friend struggled through the stages of grief, and even worse, stalled before he could get to the acceptance stage of what most likely happened.

You were always there to listen when he needed an ear. Even more importantly you tried to serve as a voice of reason once Ez started planning his own expedition to find the final resting place of Ne’Zuk.

You never said anything to completely dissuade him, because you wanted him to follow his heart and his dreams, but you couldn’t help but worry. With what likely happened to his parents, you were utterly terrified he wouldn’t come back, especially considering his stubbornness, his recklessness, and his age. Losing your best friend was a thought you just couldn’t stomach.

Only you knew about his plan to sneak onto a supply ship bound for Nashramae. You sent him off in the middle of the night with a giant hug and a “Be safe, Indiana Jones. You better come back alive…Write when you can…”

After a second he pulled back from the hug, gave you a signature Ez smirk, and said, “You know me well enough to know I’ll be fine, princess…”

Once he did set off, you had to convincingly act as though you didn’t know where he went. It was difficult, especially seeing how distraught his uncle was once he read Ez’s note, but your loyalty was to your friend.

It was torment waiting for any sort of news. Ez wasn’t exactly going to the most populated areas.

Thankfully, he did eventually return, excited to show off his new gauntlet, using it often to flash behind you and scare you.

“Ez, I swear if you keep scaring me, I cannot be held responsible for any damage to your stupid handsome face.”

*Smirk* “Handsome eh?”

“…Shut up…f-forget I said anything…the last thing you need is an inflated ego.”

But he didn’t forget.

Over the years as he gained notoriety and fame from his adventures, you were one of the few people who didn’t treat him any differently from how you had in the past.

As much as his ego craved the validation and fame, hoping they’d be enough to draw his parents back (god damn this man needs HELLA therapy), having someone who just treated him as Ezreal, not as the prodigal explorer, was really nice…

Once he was a little older, when he started getting invites to parties and banquets to talk about his adventures, you became his go-to date.

As he told you, “It’s just easier than dealing with the rabid fans. Also you’re good-looking, and I need someone with me that helps make me look good.”

That earned him a sarcastic eye roll and “Thanks, I guess?” from you.

With the fame and scale of his adventures, Ez collected a decent amount of wealth on top of what his family already had. As thanks for being his go-to plus-one, he’d always take care of the cost of your clothes and accessories for these events, sometimes even buying outfits for you himself; things that he thought would look good on you. He has shockingly good taste and understands your sense of style very well. (SUGAR DADDY FRIEND EZ, ANYONE?)

It was about a year and a half ago that things in your friendship changed. He’d been gone almost 3-months chasing a particularly legendary relic rumored to be surrounded by an incredible number of traps that were said to be impassable.

“Impassable” is Ez’s specialty, as you know.

Of course, his exuberant return made him a popular invite to all the parties. Everyone wanted to hear the tales of Piltover’s prodigal explorer.

You were just fucking relieved to have your best friend home, alive, and in one piece.

You weren’t sure if it was the alcohol or your curiosity about the direction of this conversation that had you saying, “Yes I do. I’ve thought that for a long time. But, I don’t understand why that matters? You’re my best friend, Ezreal, and to be honest, dating you sounds like a nightmare. I already worry enough about you when you’re on your expeditions. Adding deeper feelings into that sounds like a one-way express ticket to driving myself insane.”

Ez chuckled, “Who said anything about dating or deeper feelings? Feelings are the last thing I need in my life (again THERAPY, MY GUY). But, the way I see it, I’m physically attracted to you, you’re physically attracted to me, neither of us want feelings involved beyond what our friendship is now….that sounds like an arrangement that is mutually beneficial…”

You straightened up and folded your arms together as you contemplate his words. “So like a…friends with benefits sort of thing?”

Ez grinned. “More like best friends with benefits, but yes. I have needs. I’m assuming based on the fact that you’re currently not seeing anyone either that you also have needs. We’ve helped each other out with problems many times….why not help each other with this one?”

Ok, but why was he making so much sense??

He was also right. You’d been going through a hell of a dry spell as of late. And hey, when it comes to people, you trust Ezreal more than anyone else. You’d also be lying to yourself if you said you didn’t find him extremely attractive. All of these reasons pinged around your mind until finally…

“Yes…ok…yes….tonight can serve as a test of sorts…but I’m not finalizing anything until tomorrow morning when both of us are stone cold sober. I have conditions, but they don’t apply at the moment. Got it?”

His response was an frantic nod and an eager “Got it,” as he stepped closer and reached for your waist to pull you to him.

Your response was to turn around and move your hair to the side. “Ah ah ah. First help me with my zipper…then show me what you can do, pretty boy…”

And BOY DID HE. Quite honestly he blew your mind (and your back out 😉). But we’ll get to that later on.

The important conversation happened the next morning after you two woke up tangled with each other.

Ez sat up and stretched, and you couldn’t help it as you sleepily reached over and gently ran your fingers along his abs.

He gave you a sleepy smirk and eyebrow raise before murmuring, “Already want another round, princess?”

This resulted in you pinching him before you also pulled yourself up, not even caring that he was baldly admiring you as you stretched. “I tentatively agree to this arrangement, Ez, but I want to talk about limits/conditions. Let’s talk as we get breakfast ready…”

Your conditions: 1. While this arrangement is in place, he’s not sleeping with anyone else and that includes on expeditions. You don’t want the chance for any sort of disease. 2. If either of you falls for another person, the arrangement needs to end (obviously you two would talk about it so the other knows what’s going on). 3. This can’t fuck up your friendship. Even if things physically end, your friendship needs to remain intact. You don’t want to lose your best friend. 4. No falling in love with each other.

Ez easily agreed to your terms and laid out his own: 1. He’ll see you when he gets home from expeditions and while he’s in Piltover. 2. If he’s not sleeping with anyone else, he hopes you won’t either. 3. He wants you to take care of yourself mentally (a bit ironic), physically, and emotionally, especially while he’s gone. (He won’t admit it, but when he’s on his explorations, he thinks/worries about you often and wonders if you’re doing alright.) 4. He wants to continue to buy you gifts and clothes, and he also wants to start including lingerie in said gifts if you tell him your sizes and style preferences.

The last one surprised you. “Lingerie? Why? That seems pretty intimate for fuck buddies. I certainly don’t expect such gifts from you.”

He was unfazed, instead just grinning and chuckling at the surprise on your face. “Believe it or not, it’s almost more for me than you. Undressing you will be like unwrapping my own present.”

Strangely enough you couldn’t find any fault with that logic.

You agreed to all his terms, and the two of you did a little hand shake to finalize things. A strangely small gesture to seal a massive change in your friendship.

A large part of his initial “selfishness” is hesitance. You two have known each other forever, but certainly not in this way. You telling him off? Whatever you need him to be, he can be.

Ezreal can be VERY PLAYFUL. Your normal friendship is filled with laughter and teasing, and your friendship in the bedroom is no different.

That doesn’t mean he can’t be serious though, he absolutely can be.

He’s the extremely teasing type, expertly working you up with just a couple touches in public or private and then making you wait.

For example, at those fancy dinners you go to with him? If anyone bothers to look under the tablecloth they'll see his hand on you, thumb tracing shapes into the fabric of your dress high up on your thigh, while he casually recounts the harrowing details of his adventures.

There you are, just sitting there trying to keep a straight face and not blush. He does it often enough you think you’d be used to it by now but NOPE.

You’re really glad no one expects you to tell any stories at those things because every time his hand creeps onto your thigh, your brain short circuits a little bit. Trying to tell a story or hold more than a passing conversation would be incredibly difficult.

And he KNOWS IT TOO. Once he’s not speaking, he always looks over at you and gives you a little smirk.

And if you do the same to him when he’s not telling stories? He will not stop leaning over and softly complaining in your ear.

You take great pleasure in whispering in his ear, “Can’t handle what you dish out? This is what you get, you teasing fuck.” (Or something similar lol.) Then you pass everything off as normal with a very quick, friendly, and casual kiss on the cheek which makes HIS brain short circuit a little bit.

When he’s on top though, Ez intentionally will do things that cause your sounds to get louder, making no attempts to quiet you. Instead he just smirks down at you and whispers in your ear, “Is that all you’ve got, princess? I know you can get louder than that…don’t hold back for me…”

Don’t be afraid to mark him. Feeling your nails dig into his shoulders/back or feeling you mark his collarbone with hickeys drives him absolutely wild.

Very very VERY good at dirty talk. His wit and sass translate extremely well to more intimate contexts. And when you dirty talk right back at him? He loves it when you’re just as playful as he is. His favorite is when you murmur something filthy in his ear and follow it up with a playful little nip somewhere.

Loves tying you up and loves being tied up, as well as using blindfolds.

Not the most attentive with aftercare, but hey, your arrangement isn’t romantic so you don’t mind. He at least stays the night/for breakfast and cuddles you which is honestly more than you thought he’d do.

It might be a bit inconsistent concerning WHEN you see Ezreal since who knows when he’ll come back from his expeditions, but whenever he is in Piltover, the two of you certainly have a good time. Besides, it’s good to know your best friend is home safe…at least until he sets off on another adventure.
