With Storm’s friendship maxed and missions completed, I’m pretty much done with Midnight Suns. There is one final mission to tie up the DLC story, but I’ve done everything character-specific. They fixed the trophy bug, but not entirely because there are still several trophies that won’t pop for me.

A lackluster end to this experience.

One of my favourite things about Midnight Suns has always been the references to various characters from across the Marvel universe. I love how fleshed out the world feels.

And with Storm’s release, they’ve added two more Hero Ops that seem incredibly targeted to my interests specifically! Hero Op spoilers and thoughts beneath the cut.

Okay! So. These are two of the Agents of G.I.R.L. from the Unstoppable Wasp!!! With only around 17 Earth-616 appearances each, it’s wild to see them mentioned in a project as high-profile like this and I low-key spent a lot of time just staring at my screen in shock when I first saw them in the game.

Interesting, this makes it sound like Nadia hasn’t yet founded the Agents of G.I.R.L. in this universe. Given how Hank Pym is still a human and not fused with Ultron in the game, I do wonder how Nadia’s immigration process went and how she ended up with the last name “Van Dyne.” The way Magik and Carol discuss him makes it sound like Hank isn’t a particularly beloved figure in the superhero community, so maybe she just came to America, read the “Controversies” section on his Wikipedia page and went “Y’know, maybe I’ll talk to Janet instead” lmao.

I haven't found any scars on his fingers yet, with all the subtle patterns on the clothes, they wouldn't miss this detail I guess. In the meantime, I'm delighted that at least one of the Stranges finally thought of changing his beautiful costume for armor during the battle, this thought bothered me for a long time.

Funny that I made my Nadia moveset with the understanding that she wouldn’t actually happen, but she’s the only character I’ve made a moveset for who is mentioned in the game thus far lmao.

Does anyone know where she is mentioned? I believe “name only” means she is name-dropped in text, which makes me think she’d either be in a Hero Op or a Superlink Post. The former seems more likely to me - Riri Williams and Hank Pym both host Hero Ops I’ve seen thus far and Nadia could naturally be spending time with either of them (Pym is still Ant-Man in this game) - but it’s possible Carol or someone brings her up if she’s an Avenger in this canon.
