I love it when he strings me along and tells me that he thinks of me when I know he doesn't. When we both know what we should be doing but we don't care. There is no love, only a flicker of desire that is like a lightswitch that flicks on when he smiles at me.

today me and my wife were out and about and while we were sitting down drinking some coffee I looked up and saw a family of three- two parents and a child- walking through the area all wearing the exact same shirt:

it was the exact same shirt, two adult sizes and a tiny baby one for the, like, four year old kid they were carrying

so I turned to my wife and pointed them out, because 1. it was really cute and mostly 2. I was wearing this

so we laugh and then i see one of the parents make eye contact, and i impulsively point at my shirt and then theirs and flash a thumbs up

at first I worried that I was being weird but they immediately turn to their spouse to say something, then point at me and they both start excitedly getting the kids attention on me. they nudge and coerce him and point at me and my shirt, smiling, but the child is too distracted by everything else in the room to notice our matching fit

eventually the parents look back at me and call out "its his favorite shirt, so we all got them to wear together" and I respond, "cool shirt, dude!" and they carry on with their day. ive never felt a stronger sense of community with complete randos and I will love them forever

Ideas and feedback welcome. #The core idea behind this AU is that LWJ goes to study with the Yunmeng Jiang sect instead of JC and WWX going to Cloud Recess #But why? Well I imagine Lan Xichen set it up to give LWJ a challenge (more social than skill based) and LWJ rose to it (begrudgingly) #Sort of a 'You've mastered so many Lan techniques but Other Sects have styles that are worth learning.' set up. #Lan Qiren agrees mostly on the basis that...well it's LWJ. Yunmeng Jiang is unruly but LWJ is beyond that riff-raff. He'll rise above it. #This is the story of a boy who thrives on routine and rules spending time in a place that is his apparent antithesis. #Also it is so warm there.
