Sneaky Peek:
"Look, dog-boy," Fuck, that sassy mouth makes my cock twitch. "I'm sure you're used to girls tossing their panties at you every 15 minutes and getting away with murder despite witnesses, but I'm not interested in being your latest conquest. Okay? So, if you'll excuse me,"
With that, she turns back around and plunges back into the throng of bodies milling to their next class.
I want to chase after her, but I'm paralyzed. I'm rooted to the floor. I'm sure I look like a fucking idiot with my jaw on the floor and my stiff inches creating a tent in the front of my jeans, but I'm too stunned to care.
My fists clench with determination. Does she think I'll just stop? She's sadly mistaken.
I'll get her. Oh, I'll fucking get her alright. I have to. Need to. I don't know what kind of fairytale she's living in, but she can't get rid of me that easily.
I'm obsessed.

Stumbling across old Inuyasha tumblr posts is so sad because I look at the notes and the fandom used to be so interactive, but now so many of those people left and I just miss what it used to be.

The Killing Kind
notes: this is something of a spiritual successor / sequel to my original naraku fic, a hundred demons. it’s a been a minute but simpin ain’t easy rating: teen, we don’t cross the smut boundary but this is just gross in some areas so be warned. pairing: naraku / reader word count: 1,604
His tongue is as a worm, slithering over the bed of your lips as his nails find purchase in your hair. He’s taking back that kiss you asked for, trying to show with the pain of his mouth how wrong you are to desire him.
He is again in possession of a body, with arms that reach and claim. Naraku is a cold husk, home to a hundred parasites. You can taste damp and mildew as you kiss him, the sick rot in his soul tainting his insides.
Naraku holds himself against you, his eyes wide open. Your lashes brush your cheeks, eyes closed and face tilted up to receive whatever he means to poison you with.
Anything. He could slit your throat, you're so close to him. He could drive his sharp fingers through the soft skin of your eyelid and blind you for his own fun. In his head there are voices chattering away, demanding your sweet life snuffed out. A thousand tortures spring to mind, gruesome ways he could twist your bones and take until your fluttering soul is torn to shreds.
And yet one voice is above the rest, the defeated sound of a reflective monster. It demands him to pull away, and it is powerful enough to take hold of his limbs. Naraku forces himself backward, making you gasp.
Your eyes fly open, finding him and stunning him to silence. In your eyes there is no confusion or hurt. You only blink as a cat does, slowly and before advancing.
Respect is in your cautious steps, as if his arms that have retreated from your waist displease you. You seek to change it with the careful way your hands find his shoulders, slipping around his neck and cradling where his skull and spine meet. You pull him back against you, more gentleness where the tips of your fingers touch him than a shadow cast over his face.
“I didn’t tell you to stop,” you say, pressing your chest to his.
Naraku’s gaze does not waver, but for a moment you wonder if he expects your advances more keenly than he’d like to let on. Certainly he seems to desire them. But he has never been very good at hiding the way his heart is far from hardened.
“When have you ever been able to control me?” he asks, the sneer in his voice is a knife sharpened too quickly. The blow does not land as he expects, it is the greatest lie he’s ever told.
“A fortnight ago you became very cross with me for teasing,” you smile at him.
And to your immortal shock, his breath catches in his throat when you very suddenly lean towards him. Stopping just short, sighing softly onto the cold lips you hold such adoration for. Such infuriating adoration, one he cannot puzzle out.
For you are content with the worm making a knot in your ribs, it seems. For the demons in his heart to move between your bodies with any connection.
One of your arms falls to his side, your fingers curling between his. Naraku is terrified for a moment as you touch him, afraid for the first time that a piece of himself may be missing. The human shard in his ribs still cries out for the love of a woman, but the coal-black lump of flesh that was once a heart may very well now reside in you.
His flesh, your flesh. His tongue, your tongue. The rot inside him, the host has no new home to claim in you. There is no room for corruption when you have already stolen and consumed some small part of his immortal body.
Death is a choice that you will not catch him making, but he always imagined himself standing alone. You squeeze his hand tight, and claim a kiss from him even when he has the power to stop you. The soft brush of your lips is a heady contrast to his loving violence.
Naraku never stood a chance at conquering you, not when you’d kiss him both in pieces and whole so reverently. You bring him no pain, no more suffering than what he’s already suffered. His body has been eaten from the inside, holes torn in his soul as it was slowly consumed by moths. You hold what is left of him in your hands, he feels cold as ice.
“Why are you doing this?” he exhales, forcing his eyes open but powerless to do much else. He’s stiff and still as you lay your cheek to the baboon cloak draped around his shoulders.
“Because you’re not dead,” you tell him.
“I cannot die,” he says, but there is an unsung question hidden in his voice. He makes no move to untangle himself again, having already been humiliated once with your ability to command.
“Then why are you so afraid of me?” you ask, your eyes are now open too. He wishes they would shut, perhaps forever. The intricate web of your eyelashes was more pleasant than the knowing way you stare now. “Why are you so afraid of a love you can’t feel?”
Because he does feel it. He feels it now in the way his misplaced heart careens towards yours, and gives him a hunger again for the long-forgotten peace of a cave with loving hands on him. He wishes for the first time since his devouring that he could be made of the same hope as you contain. The human heart he once kept behind his ribs, instead of a fist leaking poison.
It shouldn’t be allowed, the way you make him feel. The shaking of his devotion to hate and fury, the fire he starts burning twice as bright as that within no longer holds the same warmth. There is now a hole the exact shape of your mouth in his resolve, and you take advantage by kissing him again.
The singing hum of your breathing will not be cut short so easily. The urge in him to see maggots bloom in your corpse is forcefully pushed aside. His demon impulse is always present, but it is nonetheless impressed by your shrewd dulling of his anger.
You introduce an alternative. Not one that Naraku must act upon now, to which he attributes its success, but you feed the part inside of him he thought had died of starvation. Had he ever considered an end to the blood before? To a pocket of pride he could have for something other than destruction?
There is a reason he turned over Onigumo’s heart so many times, never finding the courage to discard it. For all his lust for power, it has never wanted to leave him. The hope that he could still have quiet, if not peace. Understanding, if not love.
“You think yourself clever,” he could spit, rage against the inevitability of that truth. But his accusation is a cold and decisive echo. “You think only of my weakest part, and how it might be swayed.”
His aching, fetid heart. That is what you advance upon, take without asking, borrow with no intention to return. And then you dare to kiss him like that gives you power. And he has to claw his fingers into you to try and bury that he likes it.
“Maybe so,” you relent. Your silly, little smile hovers before his lidded eyes again. Maybe you’ll touch his heart one day with your bare hands, even if it burns.
Your resolve is as strong as his, as bathed in blood and as consumed by evil. You could not purify him if you tried, decay colors your soul as keenly as it does his own. It’s why, he suspects, he feels so safe in your embrace.
For now it leans towards too tight, the strength of your arms crushing around him as you drag him closer. But his chest is to yours, there is a limit to your taking of him. And yet for a moment he wonders if you will succeed in taking more of him.
Your third kiss contains the bones of your teeth against his blushing lower lip. The shock of such sudden desire makes fine hair on the back of his neck stand on end. Your warm, little teeth worry over his flesh like you mean to eat him.
But never do they break skin, they remain consistent in their devouring pressure but offer no real pain. Only gooseflesh on the hands and arms that belong to a hellish collective. His heart in your hands does have power, the power to make demon skin crawl with frightening affection.
Goosebumps, you can’t help but smile as you put your hand to the back of his neck and squeeze. You’ve given him goosebumps.
You’ve made a mockery of his attempts to wound you, to cut a gash into your bleeding heart. Humans are a diamond mine of fragility, your weaknesses create a sick need inside them. A need to exploit that you simply will not allow. It humbles him how easily you can disprove his point.
Still, you touch him. You ghost your hands over the deep separation between human and demon, the scarring on his back with eight, cruel legs. There is a newness in your indifference for his evil that keeps his budding emotions from becoming a threat. Whatever you seek from him, it does not involve turning him from his course.
The world lies before him like your delicate life, easy enough to take. In one palm is a glittering jewel, and in the other are your warm fingers.

Hello again! As promised here are some of the creations I’ve made over the years!
For clay figures I’ve got pokeballs, salmon and shrimp nogiri, tamago sushi, cheeseburgers and lots of colorful tentacles! (Why? More like why NOT??)
I’ve also made various things out of pearler beads (not shown) and little laminated keychains! I laminated those at home as it was a new thing for me but as I work on improving some of them I plan on getting a few made as acrylic keychains! I’ll update in that as I can!

HIIII I was wondering if I could request an Inuyasha x Reader lime of the reader trying to explain to him that in the modern era people have sex for *fun* not just to have kids?? I think it’d be really silly lol!! If not that’s ok :3 take your time and take care of urself <333
—⛓️ (chain user anon)
It’s something I have considered given the amount of kids that popped up in the sequel, haha. I shall do my best, I’ve never written limes before so I’m curious to see if I can actually expand on more provocative topics. Thank you for the suggestion!
Inuyasha x Reader Headcanons
Featuring Inuyasha and a reader showing him the ways of casual intercourse. This is a lime so expect vaguely NSFW content.
Tumblr media
You’ve been dating for months now and yet Inuyasha has barely touched you, save for the occasional kiss. Which you partly understand, you wouldn’t expect him to aggressively start groping you in front of the others, but even when you’re alone he keeps a certain distance and it confuses you greatly.
It doesn’t help that he’s a massive tsundere and getting him to talk about his feelings is a Herculean task. He’ll blush, avoid eye contact and just bark short, vague responses in hopes that you’ll stop pestering him.
You reach the point of exasperation when you ask him point blank if he’s just not attracted to you, in which case why even bother dating? His eyes widen in shock, completely taken aback by your statement. Was that what you’ve been thinking? He vehemently denies it but you don’t back down without an explanation. Finally he mumbles a barely audible reasoning. “I just don’t want any kids right now.” Now it’s your turn to stare. “Wha- How is that related to anything?”
It dawns on you that Inuyasha associates sex solely with reproduction. It’s not like he’s had any context to be provided a different view. You hold back the snicker that was about to escape your lips, as you don’t want to embarrass him any further. You find his archaic beliefs cute. Thankfully you’ve been prepared for quite some time now, so you quickly reassure him that it is, in fact, entirely possible to avoid offspring while still having fun. As you expand on your explanation you pull out the small box of condoms that you’ve been keeping in your backpack.
He doesn’t really understand the object you’re showing him so you decide that a concrete demonstration will clear up any confusion. Although you have to wrestle him onto the ground to convince him to take his clothes off. There are five stages of grief and you wonder if there’s a similar concept regarding someone too embarrassed to have sex. Refusal to undress, anger at being seen naked, bargaining to leave it for another time - and this is where it takes the turn - curiosity about giving it a try and finally, acceptance.
You don’t have to struggle too much, truth be told. Your body is the final argument and he can’t say no to the sight. Within moments he’s biting your collarbone and panting for more.
Once he gets over the initial shyness he’s almost like a dog in heat. He’ll constantly find excuses to temporarily separate from the group and have his alone time with you. He’ll insist on following you trough the well and to the store so he can proudly stand next to you when you restock on condoms. “You bet I’m the one hitting that” he thinks with a smug expression. Dear Lord, you’ve created a monster.
Though sometimes after your special time together, as you rest your head on his chest, he will lazily daydream about leaving the safety aside and actually starting a family with you. His ears twitch excitedly at the thought. And then a new idea strays away from it: can he still do it with you if you’re pregnant?

Had a Inukag fic sitting in my wip pile for a while now, so I decided to shoot it out before I completed forget about it again lol
———————————————————————
Kagome hadn’t realized how marriage would give her a heightened awareness of almost every thread which wove between her relationship with Inuyasha and the domestic life they’d carved out for themselves after three long and agonizing years of being separated.
She was sure that the soft caresses her hands would massage into Inuyasha’s bare skin would offer some sort of new understanding for the man she’d chosen to wed, but the weight seemed to be much more real and heavy than anything the miko-in-training could’ve imagined.
The realization came in slow waves, like the way her eyes would dart towards the scarred skin around her husband’s heart while she worked her lips along his collarbone or how her thumbs would silently trail through a fresh cut he’d gotten from working in the fields.
He trusts me enough to see what his life has been like, both before and after being sealed on that tree Kagome sighed to herself as she laid within Inuyasha’s grasp during a breezy spring evening.
“Hm, what ya’ thinking about Kagome?” Inuyasha questioned, causing the young woman to tilt her head up and regard him a gentle smile.
“Just how much I love…you know all this ,” Kagome responded, eliciting Inuyasha to give her a loving gaze of his own before rubbing his palm along the skin of her back.
Their lips then reached towards each other in a silent tandem, serving as the only gesture she needed to lull herself into sleep.
————————————————
“It’s almost ready,” Inuyasha called before Kagome hummed from her cocoon within the blankets on top their futon.
She then let out a steady sigh while shedding the covers and raising her arms in a stretch.
“What were you cooking again?” the young woman asked Inuyasha as she began a lethargic crawl towards their fire pit.
She recalled him mentioning that it was a dish his mother used to cook frequently for breakfast, which caused her to bask in the fact that she was continually being gifted more information about the highs and lows which made up his life before meeting her.
“It’s kinda like a stew. My mother…would say it’s usually made with spices, but she obviously ain’t add those in because I wouldn’t like it,” Inuyasha elaborated as Kagome finally reached the warmth radiating from the fire pit and wrapped her arms around him from behind.
“It smells delicious,” Kagome added before planting a small kiss on her husband’s earlobe and then gently raking her fingers through his silky hair.
The young woman couldn’t help but smile to herself while watching Inuyasha’s ears begin to slightly twitch in content, prompting her to split his hair into two parts in an attempt to loosely braid it for him before they both had to go tend to the fields.
Kagome’s eyes then wandered from the base of his scalp to the start of his tanned neck, causing her to let out a gasp at what she saw.
“Hm, what’s wrong Kagome?” Inuyasha immediately questioned as he shifted his weight in order to meet her eyes, which remained glued towards his neck.
“Inuyasha, h-how long have you had these?” Kagome murmured before gliding a finger over the faded maze of scars that outlined the entirety of her husband’s nape.
She usually found a very vague explanation behind each of his scars, but the area before her had never served as a juncture for a story that could only be told through bated breaths and tight embraces.
“Heh? Oh, probably some demon tryin’ to grab me back when I was a pup. Damn thing never got me though, so I’d say- hey are you crying?” Inuyasha then exclaimed before angling his head to the side once more, causing Kagome to vigorously rub at her eye sockets.
“Ugh, you know these things get me emotional,” the young woman rebuffed while gently waving her husband away, only to stop in her tracks when he suddenly cradled her hand within his own.
“I know, I know. Wasn’t trynna make fun of you woman,” Inuyasha murmured before gently placing his lips against the back of Kagome’s hand, eliciting her heart to flutter within her chest as he circled his arms around her figure and let out a low sigh.
“I won’t deny that the memories still sting but…being able to talk through each of the scars with you is all the healing this hanyou needs really,” the young man mumbled, probing Kagome to gently rest her forehead against the smooth surface of his kimono and let out a sweet hum in understanding.
A comforting silence then passed between the two until an aromatic smoke began to waft it’s way through their home, forcing Kagome to tilt her head upwards after feeling Inuyasha’s hands begin to trail along her ribs.
“Fuck, hope it ain’t burnt,” her husband exclaimed before loosening his hold upon her with a small peck to her forehead, crawled across their creaking floorboards, unclasped the lid ontop the large metal pot situated within their fire pit, and let out a boisterous aha! as the aroma of a rich stew began to waft around the room.
The miko-in-training couldn’t help but let out an airy giggle at the domestic nature of the moment, only for her grin to widen even further when Inuyasha looked back at her with a serene smile in understanding.

✨Hello, 2024!✨
I'm excited to share with you a few projects I'm hoping to start posting this next year, while also branching out on some new things, such as new pairings, a different POV, and even an attempt at an original novel by myself. Cheers to the next year!
⌘Sweeter Than Fiction
(InuKag, modern au, strangers to lovers, librarian/hockey player au, eventual smut, fluff)
Summary: Kagome Higurashi is a loner, something that has never bothered her. She has her close friend, she has her favorite books she devours every chance she gets, a family who loves and supports her, and she is in her final year of college, with a dream to become a writer. Kagome’s content, but in reality, she wishes for adventures and excitement, much like the characters in her books. In steps the captain of her college’s hockey team, a rude, unruly, and cocky hanyou named Inuyasha Taisho, and suddenly, her whole world is turned upside down.
Keep an eye out for some fabulous art by @clearwillow with this one.
⌘How To Train Your Human
(InuKag, space/other world au, strangers to lovers, eventual smut, chaos, fluff, funny)
Summary: In their 250th year, every youkai receives their human familiar after they complete all the necessary tests and read the handbook on how to train their human. Even Inuyasha will, despite being the first half demon to do so. He expected a kind, docile human as described in said handbook, similar to how his mother was when she met his father. So what does he do when Kagome Higurashi, his human, is the exact opposite?
Keep an eye out for some fantastic art with this one by @heavenin--hell
⌘Terms and Conditions
(InuKag, modern au, arranged marriage, enemies to lovers, eventual smut, angst, fluff)
Summary: After the disastrous day I had, there were two things I was certain of. One, Inuyasha Taisho, the country’s most eligible bachelor, was going to be my fiancé, and eventual husband. Two, we might kill each other before we ever make it to the altar.
Also planning some fabulous art with @brain-rot-hour for this one as well.
⌘Gifts for amazing people in this fandom.
I've been working with a select few others in creating gifts for the amazing readers, writers, artist, creators of this fandom, so be on the look out for some one-shots and drabbles of our favorite half demona and modern miko, along with new pairings that I'm dipping my toes into.
⌘Becoming Theirs (An Original Novel)
(new novel, modern, strangers, stalker, dark, humor, fluff, smut, healing my own inner trauma with this one)
Summary: Charlotte's life has been turned upside down with meeting Jackson and Elliot, only for her entire world to be shifted again when a past danger reveals itself.
⌘ Maybe/Maybe Not's:
(depends on all the time I have)
Epilogue Chapter to 12 Days of Smutmas: InuKag Edition
Sequel to A Deal With A Demon
Bird In A Cage (InuKag, strangers to lovers, dark and twisty, feudal era and modern au, fluff, first time, teaching, smut.) Summary: Kagome finds herself escaping a fate bestowed upon and stumbles upon a whole new world, where not all are who they seem to be.
Currently celebrating hitting the 400 mark in followers. If you would like to be added to the tag list or removed, please let me know, so I can update it. Also, if there's anything you're excited for, feel free to let me know! I will happily let you know when a new chapter is coming. I'm finally at a point in my life where I have time and energy to create new things and push my creativity. And I'm so beyond excited to share it all with you. Happy New Year! ✨

Yashahime: Awful Sequel
Tumblr media
When the first of the information came out that Inuyasha was getting a sequel, everybody was excited but it was a really awful show that was overhyped. It became a failing sequel to the Inuyasha franchise just like Boruto became to the Naruto franchise. It's a show about a hanyo version of kagome and/or rin who inherited the obsessive clingly nature, a hanyo female version of sesshomaru who barely has a personality that doesn't involve slaying and playing the violin, and a weak comic relief shihanyo who inherited her parents worst traits, who are majority of the time always winning fights.
Rushed
Just like with Inuyasha the Final Act, Yashahime was extremely rushed and boring. The Final Act was quickly wrapped up in 1 season as the manga was longer.
2. Constant Copying
In one of kohakuxrin's post there is massive recycling from the previous inuyasha content and especially the final act manga material that wasn't made in the rushed anime. As they

21) The Rainbow Crystals
Tumblr media
- The Silver Crystal was split into the seven Rainbow Crystals so as to seal away Seven Great Yōma. And as Sailor Moon shed a tear for her lover Tuxedo Mask who was mortally wounded, it caused the seven Rainbow Crystals to react and merge into one, forming the Silver Crystal itself. - As Zero shed a tear onto the Sacred Jewel, upon learning the death of Toga whom she was fond of, the seven rainbow pearls came out of it.
22) Chibiusa and the Door of Time
Tumblr media
- Chibiusa has a key that leads to the door of time which leads to the future, and she was being hunted by bad guys. - Akuru has a pinwheel that activates the windmill of time opening a path to the future, and he was being hunted by Kirinmaru.
No question in those two because Katsuyuki Sumisawa was involved in the first anime version of Sailor Moon and in the same episodes in which the rainbow crystals assembled and Chibiusa took the Sailor Warriors to the doors of time (episodes 34 and 82).
23) Walking Around Naked

24) Pulling Out A Sword

25) Wondering About Name and Bullying

26) Recycled Moves

In episode 20, 2 lizard yokai attempting to break into the hanyo village look very similar to the two lizard yokai in the original series.
moroha trying to touch rion's ears like kagome with inuyasha's ears.

3. Contrived Powerups
Majority of the time, you would notice that towa, Setsuna, and moroha get these power ups to easily defeat an opponent by emotions or hearing about something.
4. Miroku and Sango's Family
Other than Hisui, they are barely seen.
Miroku spent the majority of the series on a 1000 day training and in the last episodes of the season he was suddenly powerful and taking on the grim butterfly. In episode 22, miroku was easily defeated by zero and had kin'u take his place.
Sango, who was known to be a strong female fighter in the original, was reduced to simply miroku's wife and hisui's, kin'u's, and gyokuto's mother. In the last episode of the final act, sango retired from being a demon slayer but could've come out of retirement to lead the new demon alongside kohaku but instead she's reduced to making mask and supplies. In the last episodes of season 2, sango comes out of retirement to fight with a rushed weapon called the black hiraikotsu.
Hisui could've continued to learn under miroku while being a demon slayer despite kin'u being a monk first. Sango, who was the original owner of the hiraikotsu, should have been the one to inspire hisui to be a demon slayer instead of kohaku. The hiraikotsu doesn't have the abilities it achieved in the final act.
The creators of yashahime decided in season 2 to give hisui feelings for setsuna, making it offiical in episode 48, to make it opposite of riku and towa since hisui is a full blooded human riku is a incarnation of a full blooded yokai.
Kin'u and Gyokuto, who appeared the least in the show, only appear to make a character shine. sango, who is a skilled fighter, didn't even train kin'u and gyokuto in combat as the only thing they do is throw sutras and powders. The creators didn't put any thought into their character designs as kin'u and gyokuto should've had different hairstyles and lengths from each other as the only difference in kin'u's hair was the small ponytail and gyokuto's hair didn't change at all. While kin'u's attire did change, the difference between gyokuto's attire from childhood was her apron and woven sandals.
They could've appeared more in the series and developed their personalities and abilities.
And when shippo appeared again especially in episode 48, kin'u and gyokuto reverted back to their personalities when they were little children.
5. Kohaku and the Demon Slayers
kohaku's face looks like iruka from the naruto franchise. Despite opposite character designs and weapons, rokuta and nansuke barely have personalities and don't even have backstories
How could the demon slayers, especially kohaku and hisui, not know setsuna was a hanyo after seeing her abilities and sensing her aura.
Kohaku and the Demon Slayers really don't think things through sometimes and aren't very bright.
Ex. Nikosen was poisoning a mountain and instead of thinking of other ways to defeat him, the only way they thought to defeat him in their minds was to burn the mountain.
6. Secrets
It seems to me nobody wants to talk about the past.
Despite living in the modern era for 10 years, the higurashi family never mentioned or seen pictures of kagome to towa until she was about to leave for the feudal era.
kaede never told kohaku, hisui, and the other demon slayers that setsuna was a hanyo or was sesshomaru's daughter. After 10 years of not seeing setsuna, kaede never once told her about sesshomaru, rin, or towa and even when she returned she still didn't explain. It only took 21 episodes for kaede to tell towa about rin and even then it was quick information about how they lived together for many years and she disappeared shortly after she and setsuna were born.
kaede never even told moroha about inuyasha and kagome.
I wonder why nobody especially miroku and sango told kohaku about towa and setsuna being sesshomaru and rin's daughters and not even a letter.
Even when kohaku found out about towa and setsuna being sesshomaru's daughters, he only mentioned something to them in episodes 5 and 31.
When miroku first met towa, he was informed that she was setsuna's older sister and instead of telling her about their parents he just stood there silently.
When the higurashi family realized that moroha is kagome's daughter, they never told her information about her and inuyasha and tried to fix this in season 2 especially in episode 28.
7. Underage Pairings
The creators of yashahime really don't care about the sick relationships.
sesshomaru and rin, knew her ever since she was 7-8 years old.
riku and towa, he knew her before she was born
homaru and tamano, kidnapped and tried to force her to love him.
moroha flirting with bokuseno.
I don't have an opinion on hisui/setsuna or hisui/aiya.
8. Rushed and Failed Backstories
They really didn't think much into the childhoods.
In episode 15, towa and setsuna were taken away and placed in a forest for 4 years and moroha was sent away to the koga and ayame by hachiemon.
In towa's childhood after being separated from setsuna, there's not much known as we see her meet sota, have a weight set and trophies to explain her life, a flashback of a pinky promise, and they gave of these rushed memories in episode 36 like they gave kagome rushed memories in the final act.
With setsuna, her being taken away from the burned forest, being accepted into the hidden hanyo village, training under 2 orders, defeated 2 lizard yokai, flash forward 6 years later, a recycled flashback from episode 3, returning to the hanyo village, a quick copy and pasted of episodes 51 and 52 except the soldiers are yokai, and leaving the hanyo village.
With moroha, a quick flashback of her last training day with yawaragi, battling a recycled character kodoku, being sold to jyubei, battling the birds of paradise, and giving quick images of her as a baby in episode 39.
9. Contrived Emotional Moments
The scenes that are supposed to be emotional are bland, rushed, and cringe-worthy.
Ex.
sota and towa's relationship wasn't sad for me as in season 1 and 2 they had very little interactions and were forced.
Ex. in episode 4, sota and towa talking and saying goodbye and in season 2 sota and towa meeting again and goodbye again after he tells he will always see her as his own blood daughter as they transform appearance when they first met.
A female wolf yokai named yawaragi was mentioned in episode 14, appeared as a small cameo at the end of episode 15, and official debut. She has a few flashbacks, a quick fight, then they tried to give us this emotional dying scene of her with moroha but i'm not attached to the character and everything goes back like nothing ever happened except for a new ability.
towa and setsuna tearfully hugging each other and apologizing when setsuna regains her memories.
riku tearfully killing zero.
moroha reuniting with Inuyasha and kagome while towa and setsuna, which is weird for her, tearfully watched.
moroha keeping the black pearl with the beni.
towa and mei's moments plus the final goodbye.
riku confessions of love to towa especially before everyone battles the grim butterfly and him dying.
Inuyasha, kagome, and moroha having a family moment on the bone-eater's well.
rin hugging towa and setsuna while sesshomaru and jaken having a conversation while 2 other families watched them.
towa and Setsuna hugging moroha in their new attires.
towa confronting a disguised riku in jyubei's shop.
moroha hugging Inuyasha and kagome before leaving their home.
Basically episode 48 was one of the worst episodes in the entire two seasons.
10. Terrible Characters
Majority of the yashahime series characters were boring and confusing.
Ex.
In season 1, she looked more like she was the big bad of the series than Kirinmaru, who didn't even act like the villain.
Zero possessed much more of a threat to our main characters, as she is responsible for the forest fire that separated Towa and Setsuna and indirectly separated Moroha from Inuyasha and kagome. She's done various other things, blackmailing Sesshomaru by cursing Rin. She feels very much that she had the same level of connection that she had that the same connection Naraku did with Inuyasha.
zero's back story as well seemed uninteresting and confusing, having feelings towards Toga, and when he dies her love for him drives her to kill his descendants. She could have become more interesting as the series progressed. If the rainbow pearls sealed away her emotions, then why is zero taking revenge on toga's descendants and got angry at sesshomaru's mother.
But that was not the case, as when season 2 aired, is when Zero started to run down downhill by gathering the rainbow pearls, for revenge, kidnapping towa, and basically holding rin's life hostage, and it all ends in episodes 36 and 37.
To start with, Setsuna learns from Rin that she must save Zero to stop the curse from killing her. Really wished we knew that before. Thanks, Rin, which leads into the next episode.
At this point, Zero has been emotionally torturing Towa for the entire night by reminding her of her sadness and suffering, and is pretty much trying to get Towa angry enough so that she can kill her, and in doing so kill Rin. She's almost successful when Setsuna shows up, shows Towa the dream butterfly, and suddenly Towa loses all the anger she has towards zero in a matter of seconds.
towa then thanks zero for what she's done and it is really annoying. zero prepares to kill herself and Setsuna cuts the thread of fate tying Zero to Toga and she removes the curse from Rin and commits suicide by Riku.
All of these in a matter of minutes, they make Zero, this threatening and uninteresting villain and rendered her more pathetic. They had to give her a redemption arc when she's been the most villainous character in this sequel. Kirinmaru felt more like an obstacle the same way Koga was in Inuyasha. But this, this was so dumb, and when I was watching episode 36 and heard what Rin said, I knew what this was leading into but it was so much worse when Towa thanked her for it. She really didn't need to thank the person who separated her from her twin sister and tried multiple times to kill her, sister, and rin because it's just wrong.
The creators of yashahime couldn't even give zero an actual conclusion that fitted with her character, and she's forgiven so easily. You didn't see Inuyasha thanking Naraku for setting him and Kikyo against each other and killing Kikyo, Sango thanking naraku for killing her village and controlling her kohaku, and miroku thanking naraku for cursing his bloodline. Could you imagine how messed up that would have been?
11. Timeline Error and Wrong Ages
The story takes place after 18 years after the final act but they keep getting the timeline wrong.
In episode 3, kaede said the bone-eater's well stopped working after 15 years.
In episode 39, kagome said she hasn't seen her family in 14 years.
Despite the yashahime creators making jaken and the tree of ages saying that rin is supposedly 18, she is really 15.
The true creator, Rumiko Takahashi, explained in databooks that rin is 7-8 years old in the beginning, sota is 8-9 years old, and kohaku is 11 years old.
In the 3 year time skip at the end of the final act rin is 11, sota is 11-12, and kohaku is 14.
4 years later when towa, setsuna, moroha were born, rin would be 15, sota would be 15-16, and kohaku is 18.
When they were 4 years old, Rin was 19, sota was 19-20, and kohaku was 22.
10 years later in the present as they are 14 years old, rin is 29 not 32, sota is 29-30, and kohaku is 32.
The reason the creators tried to age sota and rin up is because they forgot.
12. Copied Information
If you watched yashahime, you would immediately notice the constant copy and pasting from the original series and the final act. They're trying to do this to bring back memorable feelings to the new series.
Ex.
Even though the rainbow pearls were created from the sacred jewel and have its essence, as they just copied lesser powerful versions of it.
towa, setsuna, and moroha fighting mistress three eyes to remember the fight between inuyasha and kagome with mistress centipede.
setsuna not wanting to be a hanyo is a reference of sesshomaru disliking hanyo.
towa being controlled by the hitokon like the little boy, but how did it appear in the modern era without being seen.
setsuna remembering mei thanking her is to remember rin smiling at sesshomaru.
moroha appearing in the room naked without shame just like inuyasha.
grandpa higurashi giving moroha, who had a weird look on her face, a kappa foot just like he gave kagome, who also had a weird on her face, a kappa foot as well.
13. Sesshomaru
Personally, I've never really liked sesshomaru as just like miroku, jaken, sango, especially shippo and kagome. As in yashahime, sesshomaru became bland and terrible.
Out of all of the characters whose personalities and motives changed from the original series, The one who got it the worse was Sesshomaru. Despite him not being on screen for very long in the first season and the currently ongoing second season, he's barely said anything. To be fair, Sesshomaru wasn't having full-blown conversations with everyone, but he at least has some conversations with other characters. Here he barely says anything.
He's also not very emotional, which was the same in the original series, but with what has happened in the second season of Yashahime, you'd think the writers would give him some kind of emotional moments not the sick ones of sesshomaru holding rin when the curse was placed on her in episode 27 and it being taken off her in episode 37.
In season 1, sesshomaru has barely appeared and mostly made short cameos and flashbacks.
Ex. In episode 18, sesshomaru only appeared for a short time to quickly fight kirinmaru, orders jaken to not say anything then they leave.
The plot for him is really bad and doesn't make any sense, sesshomaru takes towa and setsuna shortly after they're born, stay away from them and refuses to help them when they were 4 years because homura and zero, who he can easily defeat, who kill them herself and kill rin, who said she would rather die than let them be sacrificed for her sake, but changed his mind when they were 14 years old. And sesshomaru idiotically listened to jaken sealing into the tree of ages and sealing inuyasha and kagome away into the black pearl because they thought they would go after zero and killer which would also kill rin, even though they would find another way to save her.
Even though, sesshomaru secretly gave setsuna items and tasks over the 6 years she's lived in the hidden hanyo village, he's a terrible father as he doesn't tell them anything, basically an absent father, left towa and setsuna to face kirinmaru and setsuna was killed, completely left the task of setsuna saving rin to her and didn't do anything as kohaku and sota were more fathers to them instead of himself.
The creator of yashahime could've made janis or kaname kururugi canon in the series and giving them a story of how they came to permanently live the feudal era, or a new female character with a background but instead they disgustingly chose rin, a girl he knew since she was 7-8 and mostly treated like a daughter.
In Yashahime, sesshomaru is a terrible husband as he doesn't see rin as an equal and majority of the time still has the father-daughter dynamic and treats her like a pet.
Ex. shortly after towa and setsuna, sesshomaru didn't say a word to rin and took the twins without a single explanation to anyone other than a rite of courage and cowardice, commanded her to follow him and stay like a dog especially in episodes 46 and 47 when he commanded her watch him battle kirinmaru, and even in episode 48 when he still ordered him to follow him. The only time sesshomaru is ordered around is in episode 35 by rin.
In season 2, sesshomaru majority of the time just stands and watches things happen for plot, even when he's in the grim butterfly, in a coma, and letting others such as towa, setsuna, and moroha to do the work.
For an example, In Inuyasha, the final act, when they are in the underworld and Kohaku tells him that Rin isn't breathing. Sesshomaru shows genuine fear and concern, which I believe is the only time he acts this way. Then when he learns that Tenseiga can't revive her, he blames himself for it and says that nothing was worth losing her. It's one of the most powerful moments for Sesshomaru and shows just how far he's come. Whether you see Sesshomaru care towards Rin as Fatherly or not, this scene shows just how much he cares for her.
Let's compare that to in Yashahime.
After Sesshomaru kills the dream butterfly, it causes the Silver scale curse to spread more quickly, which will eventually kill Rin. She's pretty much dying in front of him, and he has no way to stop it himself. So how does he act?
He says nothing, even when she talks to him and he keeps the same face.
sesshomaru separated moroha from inuyasha and kagome for 14 years and the one who gets scolded for badmouthing him was inuyasha, who was rightfully so, and he was instantly forgiven, kagome saying 'i'm sure he had his reasons', sat inuyasha, and scolded him for blaming towa and setsuna, even though he wasn't. setsuna also shouldm't have to apologize on sesshomaru's behalf.
He later kills the dream butterfly to motivate Setsuna to be able to use her Yukari no Tachikiri, which nearly causes Rin to die because of him and finally, he doesn't go and save Towa when she is being tortured all night by Zero and Nanahoshi by his minature galaxy.
It feels like they were trying to frame it as Sesshomaru could be genuinely working with Kirinmaru, but in doing so, they make him look like he's the worst father of the year. And with how long this mystery dragged out, it didn't make Sesshomaru look any better.
It definitely it's completely different writing when it comes to Sesshomaru in both series, with Inuyasha, Rumiko wrote him a clear goal and a conclusion. In Yashahime, they're trying to one-up the audience with their mystery and are unintentionally wreaking his entire character.
14. Not Naming Characters
Despite new characters such as moe higurashi, mei higurashi, and aiya receiving names there are lot of characters that still don't have names such as sesshomaru's mother, weasel man, gokoku village headman, northern demon slayers leader, the granny, the lady, the muscle, the ninja, and so many others.
Despite knowing that his name is toga, they still refer to him as the great dog demon.
15. Nerfed
Just like Boruto and Dragon Ball Super, the power scaling doesn't make any sense. In Super, beerus, who is a god, is fighting goku, who turned into a super saiyan god, after a period of time transforms back into a simple super saiyan but doesn't make any sense that he can still can fight beerus, they tried to explain away this through beerus but it doesn't work. In Boruto, there have been many multiple fights where the older generations are nerfed to make the younger generation shine like when jugo hit konohamaru and he couldn't move for a few days but when jugo hit boruto he easily recovered, when karin had to become weak with her chakra chain in order for sarada to be strong, or when in the time travel arc with urashiki that sasuke was constantly weak in order for a genin naruto, boruto, and jiraiya to shine. It also happens in more sequels like in yashahime.
Ex.
kirinmaru, who is equal to toga, can receive massive injuries from towa and setsuna, hanyos, and moroha, a shihanyo.
Zero, who possessed all of her 7 rainbow pearls that contain her immense yokai power that can summon an even greater demonic power that is far too strong and dangerous to even exist and the essence of the sacred jewel, can easily be killed by a feral towa.
The grim comet/grim butterfly, that has vast amounts of demon energy that it took toga, kirinmaru, sesshomaru, and inuyasha to defeat small fragments of it, was being completely held back by miroku and kagome, not even combined can match midoriko and kikyo.
towa creating the twin azure dragon wave but not sesshomaru.
16. UnInteresting Fights
Majority of the fights are boring and rushed.
Ex.
In season 1, you would notice that more than half the fights are recycled from the final act manga and the original series.
towa battling the human boys.
totetsu battles against miroku, hisui, towa, and setsuna.
totetsu and riku battling each other.
In season 2, the fights are stale and lack originality.
towa and setsuna battling rock fiends.
riku and rion battling kirinmaru.
osamu battling riku and towa.
Ex. In the final fight against kirinmaru and sesshomaru, the fighting moves sesshomaru uses are recycled from his fight against magatsuhi.
17. Bland Characters
Most of the yashahime characters lack character and are boring.
Ex.
Despite Raita and Futa having their parents killed by different species, different abilities, and opposite appearances, they're basically the same as one said something and the other agrees and repeats what the other said, they say 'take this' and attack. Raita and Futa's appearances didn't put much thought into them and when they're older the difference they get is armor.
With Mei Higurashi, we're told about her personality from towa but she's annoying and reminds me of kagome and rin when she wants to run into dangerous situations to resolve problems, bossy, and whiny.
Moe Higurashi rarely has a personality as the naive overly cheerful person that reminds us of ms. higurashi and her appearance looks like a light brown haired kagome and the only thing we know about her is that she's a traveling violinist.
takechiyo wasn't much of a character as is a less annoying version of shippo and a boring background story with his twin brother.
18. Sudden Recovery
In the original, inuyasha sustained damages from powerful and mst of them took him a while to heal but in yashahime mostly everyone, including towa, setsuna, and moroha, heals instantly from their injures even hisui.
It feels like when characters are facing powerful enemies they instantly get up without a scratch despite having injuries. I know they're hanyos from a powerful dog demon but it's contrived.
Ex. setsuna becomes injured after being restrained by mistress three eyes but quickly recovered to defeat her.
towa was weak after being released from hitokon's control but instantly recovered when setsuna wanted to remove the hitokon from mei's face.
miroku battled gaga gozen and was instantly defeated and weakened but instantly recovered when he battled setsuna.
In episode 18, towa, setsuna, and moroha battled kirinmaru and easily lost but instantly recovered.
19. Plot
The plot was really stupid and to be dramatic.
Ex.
In season 1, ever since episode 2 when towa and setsuna separated, they constantly remind us for drama by memories and/or through other people in episodes 3, 4, 8, 10, 11, 14, 15, and 20, especially episodes 8, 10, and 14.
placing a seal on setsuna and her main weapon to keep her demon blood in check but during the series she's never fully tries to master it, only a small piece of it known as the blood blade. they made setsuna have a seal but not towa, that's not fair.
Throughout season 2, everyone was saying that towa needed to fight with a demon weapon and not something made by humans but at the last episodes she's fighting with the kikujmonji, a weapon made from humans.
moroha getting through mount musubi's barriers.
In episode 17, setsuna, who doesn't even know anything about sesshomaru and the dog demon clan, suddenly knows the dog demon clan is capable of discovering demonic energies from a distance with their unusually sharpened sense of smell but in episode 23 she questions her clan.
In episode 24, riku stabbing kirinmaru, who had his guard down, to weakened him for towa, setsuna, and moroha and towa stabbing kirinmaru.
In episode 24, setsuna dying so towa and moroha can instantly power up.
In episode 38, towa, setsuna, and moroha attacking kirinmaru and sesshomaru taking kirinmaru's attack and sending them into the black pearl.
In episode 39, kirinmaru showing up and demanding sesshomaru to come out before battling inuyasha, kagome, and moroha.
osamu kirin, who barely appeared in the series, was suddenly the villain of the last episodes of season 2.
riku and rion battling kirinmaru and later riku, who was heavily injured, easily taking rion away from kirinmaru.
In episode 47, towa dying so rion can face fear who ended up dying again anyway.
It doesn't make any sense, Rin was stuck in the tree for 4 before the silver scale curse slowly started to spread but suddenly when the dream butterfly was killed it spread all over her body within a few episodes.
20. Rushed Abilities
The abilities within the yashahime series are quickly inherited and lackluster.
Ex. towa instantly receives the energy blade after meeting the mistress three eyes.
towa receiving the azure dragon wave.
after myoga explains inuyasha's tessaiga absorbing demon energy, towa instantly receives the skill to absorb demon energy with her energy blade.
moroha receiving the crimson backlash wave.
towa receiving twin azure dragon wave.
In the original, the tenseiga was able to revive people once with no time limit as it revived goshinki and rin but in yashahime they decided to give it a stupid 1 hour time limit.
setsuna quickly mastering the yukari no tachikiri after 2 incidents with sea snake woman and mayonaka.
towa instantly mastering the zanseiken.
setsuna instantly achieving vermilion bird ambush.
moroha instantly mastered the bow she received from her parents.
21. Background Characters
The creators of yashahime really didn't put any thought into what to do with the characters.
Ex. The higurashi family basically didn't do anything as in episode 2 they were just get kidnapped and standing there and in episode 3 when towa, setsuna, and moroha were interacting with each other, all they did was silently standing there and didn't speak to them.
With shiori, they barely changed anything about her appearance except she now wears woven sandals and different hairpins and worst short as she doesn't and let's little children fight for her.
With koga and ayame, they only make a very small non-speaking cameo at the end of episode 15 and don't even have children of their own.
22. Hairstyles
The creators of yashahime really didn't put much thought into most hairstyles such as takechiyo, kikunosuke, kin'u, gyokuto, rion, and futa have the same styles.
23. Bad Animation
In episodes of season 1 and 2, you can see multiple terrible animation mistakes.
Ex. Setsuna flying away from towa and moroha.
zero laying on the ground and rin coming out from her slumber when zero died.

I like fanfics where Inuyasha and Kagome are caught in inclement weather, seeing them all cozy together. I was wondering if you had a list of fanfics where our favorite couple is caught in bad weather?
Hello Anon -
You have unknowingly asked for a Mod Favorite list because our Fic Finders had so much fun putting this list together for you. This list is a mixed bag for setting and rating, and while predominantly one-shots does include a few multi-chapter stories that feature inclement weather. Happy reading!
Tumblr media
Snow Route by @superpixie42 (M)
Inuyasha thought he had the best idea for a surprise for Kagome. They would spend the longest New Moon night of the year (aka the worst night of the year) together in the market village inn, therefore turning a terrible night into a wonderful night. Except nothing ever goes to plan does it?
--
The Breath of Death by @roseheartwhitefox (E)
He should have seen the warning signs. The sudden chill in the air. The slow but steady increase of the wind as it shook the trees and blew the snow, completely obscuring his vision, burning even his tough hanyou skin with cold. The rapid pacing of the clouds through the sky. The fact that there were no animals out in the forest, despite it being the middle of the day. He had lived through it once before, and should have seen it coming.
A blanket scenario story featuring Inuyasha/Kagome. Takes place during the final act. Rated for explicit content.
--
Summer's Snow by @heynikkiyousofine (T)
A freak snow storm in summer and only one bed? What's Kagome to do.
--
Snow Bound by @petri808 (M)
College roommates Sango and Kagome along with Sango's boyfriend Miroku and his roommate Inuyasha head to a cabin in the mountains for a vacation. Chapter 3-5 contain sexual content.
--
The Last Stop by BanksDelivers (T)
In a world where demons are ostracized by society, Inuyasha has only his pride and the clothes on his back to his name. When Kagome offers him a place to stay during the approaching storm, will he take a helping hand?
Or, that story where Inuyasha is a stubborn idiot and Kagome has to rescue him.
--
The Bus Stops Here by @neutronstarchild, @fawn-eyed-girl (T)
At 6:04pm, while he was waiting to take the bus home, she would appear. He lived for those moments, waiting at the bus stop together, trying to build up the courage to talk to her. When the day finally came, she was late. And it was raining. And it was all he could do to keep her from catching a cold. But finally, they were traveling in the same direction, together.
--
His Hands by @quickening (K)
Thunderstorms are inconvenient most times, but the rare opportunity to closely study a grouchy hanyou is too good to pass up ... especially when said hanyou insists on sleeping on you. Fair's fair, right?
--
Rain by @lavendertwilight89 (E)
Inuyasha and Kagome get caught in the rain after they had taken on root-head. Inuyasha finally wants to talk.
--
Chasing The Vortex by @neutronstarship @ruddcatha @mickisketch @fawn-eyed-girl (E)
Inuyasha knew what happiness was. It was him alone with a tornado, because tornadoes were predictable, and simple. And being alone meant no more getting hurt. Then Inuyasha’s Ph.D. advisor dropped the ultimatum on him: to host a plucky photographer from Chicago to help get their weather institute funded, or else.
Kagome Higurashi, for her part, couldn't wait. She’d always wanted to chase tornadoes, and wanted to see how close she could get to one, to get that perfect shot. And lord knew the chaser needed the help! And for that week stuck together in tornado alley, it’s not just the debris that’s flying.
--
Fortune Favors The Bold by @mamabearcatfanfics (M)
"Dai-kichi! The person you await comes from a distant place. Be bold! It would be good for you to send them a message." Kagome smiled as she traced her fingers over the printed fortune, picturing a dog eared boy with white flowing hair and amber eyes. Inuyasha definitely fit the description of ‘comes from a distant place’ – you couldn’t get more distant than five hundred years into the past. But what sort of message would she want to send him?
--
Shiori no Yoru by ColhanTheDeviant (T)
Kagome falls victim to hypothermia, can Inuyasha save her? My first blanket scenario!
--
When It Rains by @dawnrider (E)
Modern AU: Kagome gets caught in the rain leaving work. Cursing her luck, she tries to wait it out. Her luck takes a strange turn when she runs into her crush from college. None other than Yash Inukai. And he's very pleased to see her...
--
Hold On by @lavendertwilight89 (E)
Inuyasha and Kagome get caught in a storm. Can he help her stay warm?
--
Stranded by @keizfanfiction (E)
Kagome's car dies in an empty parking lot, she's freezing her ass off, and Sango isn't picking up her phone. Help comes from the most unlikely of sources, and after some heated arguing, childish name calling, and some pretty fantastic sex, Kagome is--what--hey waiT JUST A MINUTE NOW--

Tumblr media
Reasons: I know I go by He and Her pronouns, but I'm biologically not a boy so I do not think I could even remotely write anything pertaining or catering to the male audience and I've seen a lot of writers get harassed in their ask box about only writing Character x ♀️ YN, Do us both a favor and please seek out different writers. Same thing for the furry and omegaverse thing I'm not to comfort at all writing that so please seek out other writers.
Tumblr media
Minors DNI, I am not going to argue with y'all in the comments or reblogs, I will block you immediately please go argue with someone else like yo mama or yo teacher...cause I'm not either one of them.
Warming to Pro shippers: No this isn't to degrade y'all or anything I am a very open-minded and unbothered person, but I want to say this if you send me a request I rather you personally send it to me because other people who don't like what you like can get uncomfortable and I want my blog to be a judgement free and harassment free place, So depending on what you inbox me I may or may not write it, but I will not post it publically, I hope you understand. I repeat (I AM A VERY VERY VERY UNBOTHERED PERSON THAT DOES NOT MEAN I LIKE OR DISLIKE OR SUPPORT, IT GENERALLY MEANS I AM JUST NOT BOTHERED BY IT) and I'm just not the type of person to judge if I'm uncomfortable I will tell you, but I'm not gonna belittle anyone over something they like I just don't have it in me. Sorry.

Just got into inuyasha at 24! Out of nowhere I remembered an anime scene I watched as a child, the only thing I could remember was a desperate girl, and other girl kissing a boy with white hair. Searched for it online, turns out it was when kikyo trapped kagome on the tree and kissed inuyasha. I guess that really marked me as a kid lol. I’ve just finished reading the manga and now I’m gonna watch the full anime. So happy I found ur blog! Yours is one of my favourites in the fandom.
Welcome and thank you for the love!
So many people watched Inuyasha as a kid, it's a core memory that cannot be forgotten it seems ❤ I loved that you read the manga as well, it's a different experience and you get to see all the scenes that were not animated :)
The fandom isn't super active anymore due to lack of new content (we get a new chapter of the Yashahime manga every month but it's not canon content and a lof of people aren't reading it... for various reasons lol) but I hope you can still have fun here! There's still plenty of fanarts, fanfics and meta being posted. For a fandom that's almost 30 years old, I say we're still doing alright, lmao.

@inukag-week 2023 | May 31 | Prompt "Safe"
Summary: Inuyasha has a flashback.
Inspired by Sanctuary by Welshly Arms
Read here or on Ao3
Tumblr media
The evening had been quiet enough. Kagome had gone back to her world. Everyone had been settling down. His friends were already asleep. Just the gentle chirping of crickets. Light snores. In the far distance, something growled.
The sky suddenly opened up without warning.
Liquid. Hot, thick, red and dripping lazily off his fingertips. The metallic taste filling his mouth and the rusty scent overpowering his nose. Then came the screams. Louder and louder and louder. Something in him wanted more.  Sensations terrifyingly close to joy began blooming in his chest as his body chased after another merciless kill. Filling the growing pit in his stomach. Drowning any feelings of wrong. Stomping down the lingering notes of horror, fear and despair. Never enough. Never. Pulling out a man's heart doesn’t stop the sick feeling in his gut or ease the pain lacing every movement. Doesn’t prevent him having to make sacrifices to accommodate for his lack of maneuverability. Doesn’t mean he isn’t trying to find that balance and overcome whatever is in him that relents when he recognizes as his physical limits.
"Inu...here?'
Suddenly there’s no air. He can't breathe. Everything hurts.
Slowly, slowly the world begins blurring between the bloodbath and a swirl of unnatural light. A jarring siren wails in the distance. It’s the unexpected noise that slams him back down into reality and out of his dream-like state. A nauseating cacophony of sound, of scent, of everything, slammed into his face making him stagger. A little vomit gathers in the back of his throat as he takes an involuntary step away from the house in the near distance. Somehow, some way he’s found himself in the courtyard of the shrine in an era he definitely hadn’t been in. If anything, the realization that he’d blacked out somehow - completely mindless and out of control  - escalates his panic to new heights.
No. No no no no no.
He must've turned again. Must've lost his mind. He can’t go back. He can’t go back to that. Who did he kill? He killed somebody again, didn’t he?
Somebody stop him.
A familiar face begins swimming in front of his eyes - blurred and pale - and he loses the battle to keep his stomach contents in check. His knees start to buckle and a black void dances in the corner of his eyes.
He can't-
Somebody-
A soft sob bubbles over his lips.
"Inu-"
The horrifyingly familiar face is closer this time and there’s blood. So much blood warping her features and drowning out her eyes. Four long claw marks flicker in and out of existence across her face, her chest, her shoulder.
Not her. Anyone but her. Please not her.
A voice that sounds suspiciously like his own is mumbling ‘no’ over and over and over until it’s a bloodcurdling scream that simply can't be his.
His head bounced on the tile. Moisture pooled beneath his cheek as his body convulses on the cold ground. Distantly, he registers a frantic voice and cool hands running over his face. With a soft groan, his eyes flutter open and three Kagomes dance in and out of focus. She’s in her pajamas. Her hair is pulled back but still somehow wild.
So pretty.
As soon as that thought hits him, his racing mind grinds to a halt and he sluggishly blinks again to make sure he hasn't completely lost it. Kagome is fine. She's perfectly fine and she's here. It doesn't make sense. No sense at all. Nothing does. Not up or down or even his own name. It's just blood and pain and swirling colors in a world with no air.
Something cold is pressed against his neck while the damp corners clean his tear-stained face. So, so gently.
“Can you help me?” he hears a warped voice he’s fairly certain is Kagome’s. There’s a response but his mind is too fractured to recognize it. Next thing he knows there’s two sets of hands propping his dead weight up. The movement makes him gag and the world spins and spins and spins.
“We’re going to put you on the couch, okay?” Kagome’s altered voice whispers as she moves his arm around her shoulder, “It turns into a bed. Won’t that be nice? Soft and comfy.”
Inuyasha couldn’t give a shit and it is not helping that she sounds like she’s comforting an insane person. Then again, he lacks the energy to get mad at her over it and was just aware enough to know he isn’t all there at the moment. The only thing he can do is pray that the world will stop spinning long enough for him to catch his breath. Every once in a while, he'll glance over at the girl supporting him and the claw marks reappear then vanish.
Maybe he's seeing the future. Maybe he's finally lost his mind. Maybe he's just really fucking tired.
Far too soon, he finds himself being deposited atop something both soft and horrifically uncomfortable. Every single metal coil stabs at his pressure points and the material scrapes painfully at every inch of exposed skin. This he does not like. It was not, as Kagome called it, nice.
Something is being knocked around and a gentle whooshing noise starts. Unnatural. Metallic. Soothing thought in the most uncomfortable way.
“…stay with him…”
“…injured?”
“…didn’t see…”
The hands return and when they withdraw, he vaguely registers that his topmost layers went with them. Cool hands gently run across his skin. Now that? That part is nice but he doesn’t have the energy to even question this turn of events. Everything left in him is trying to stay awake, aware and in control but he knows he’s failing miserably and the world is spinning and-
Something heavy and stale is suddenly weighing him down. Someone lifts his head and puts a cushion down. The lightest of pressure against his leg.
“Inuyasha, can you look at me for a second?" Kagome’s voice asks softly over the continued pounding in his ears - stupid as ever. Inuyasha groans softly as soon as that thought crosses his mind. He fidgets.
Stupid?  She’s not stupid. Suicidal maybe but not that.
His mind slows down even more and the world around him gets a little more in focus. Hazy amber eyes turn from the ceiling and focus on the blurry face staring down at him.
“Hey,” she whispers affectionately - worry lacing her voice, “Would it be okay if I held you?”
Inuyasha can think of a million reasons why she shouldn’t, but he nods anyway and closes his eyes. After a few adjustments of his limp body, he’s cradled against a warm chest and finally the world around him goes quiet. Something cool begins washing through his veins and air rushes into a chest he hadn’t realized was still heaving.
His sore hands absently claw at the silky material closest to him and a whine works it’s way up his throat.
“You’re okay. I’ve got you. You’re okay.”
It’s impossible to fight it anymore and he was weirdly okay with the free fall that stole his breath then gave it back. Love. He feels very loved and safe which makes no sense and yet all the sense in the world.
Oh. Oh. So that’s why he found her. He was always supposed to find her. The world made sense again.
“You’re okay.”
The lights go out before he can ponder his epiphany further.
Tumblr media
Inuyasha groans softly as the world comes back into focus. Nothing feels right and he’s stiff. This, this right here is why he never sleeps laying down. Believe it or not, there is a such a thing as sleeping too deeply. Makes reaction time shit and half the time you wake up sore. Sluggish and confused. Like now. Honestly, if he didn’t know better, he would’ve sworn he was in-
A door opens and closes loudly. Something shifts against him and a hand twitched against his back. Inuyasha’s eyes flutter open but the harsh light filtering in through the winds feels like a thousand knives. Every muscle in his body screams.
But, for some reason, he’s not concerned about waking up in Kagome’s world. At least it was safe here. Who gave a shit about how he got here or why he’s tucked securely against Kagome’s body-
Hold up. He’s what with who now?
Letting out a loud groan, Inuyasha forces his eyes back open to confirm his foggy brain isn’t hallucinating. Well, he’ll be damned. How the shit did he luck out this hard? He’s topless too and Kagome’s hair is a mess. That has implications he doesn’t-
No. Nope. Screw it. He doesn’t give a shit what happened or why he’s here. Waking up in her arms is the best moment of his life and no one, no one is ever going to convince him otherwise. No matter what happens next. Except, well, how did he get here? It’s as terrifying a thought as ever. He'd managed to do it yet again. Blacking out and losing time and control and-
A soft hand suddenly presses the back of his neck and pulls it closer.
“Shhhhhhh. You’re okay. I’ve got you,” Kagome’s thick voice whispers like she’s talking to an insane person and the events of last night finally slam into his brain full force. Well, more like a jumbled nonsensical flood of images but he's smart enough to put the blurred pieces together into a very unflattering picture.
Panic pierces through his brain like a white hot ice pick so he did something he was not proud of. He whines and snuggles closer because if there is anyone who can protect him it’s his miko.  Kagome will keep him safe. That belief - no knowledge - is so ingrained in his system that his mindless body must’ve moved on its own accord. Even when he lost his damn mind, he knew exactly where to go.
Because Kagome was safe. Kagome would take care of him. Kagome was home.
And, now that he’s safe and secure and home, even though he is clearly not in his right mind, his mouth decides that he should poke a hole in this cocoon of safety. Because reasons.
“I'm not weak like you stupid humans so don't go thinking I am,” Inuyasha mumbled into the silky fabric of Kagome nightshirt - making absolutely no attempt to move except to drape his arm around her waist.
“I know,” Kagome laughed softly and nuzzled his hair, “I’m just glad you’re safe. That you knew to come here.”
Inuyasha’s lips twitched upwards and the lingering tightness in his chest melted instantly. Yes, he was safe here. Terrifyingly safe.
“Are you hurt at all?” she asked hesitantly- her fingertips lightly stroke his jaw earning a slight shiver. He shook his head and relished in the stale air of the modern era that normally made him nauseous. God, how did she make living easier?
His stiff hands flexed in her nightshirt a few times before he found his voice to give her a proper answer. One she deserved seeing as how he absolutely lost his mind on her.
“Had a dream or…or something,” he whispered - figuring she deserved some sort of explanation, “About…about that day. But then I…woke up here? Kinda. Didn’t…didn’t know how.”
The hand on his back pressed down with the lightest of pressure and the comfort that gesture brought gave rise to an urge to cry. Weirdest part of all was that he actually considered giving in. It would be okay to shed tears. Because it was Kagome and she’d just wipe them away.
“I’m so sorry. That must’ve been terrifying,” she acknowledged in the saddest little voice while the fingers brushing his cheek moved to lightly drag across his scalp, “We should come up with a game plan. You know, just in case you ever feel like that again. I hope you know you can always, always talk to me. You can’t scare me away.”
Jaw trembling, Inuyasha simply snuggled closer.
“I’m shit at plans,” Inuyasha sniffled playfully after far too long. An attempt to break the tension that went without judgment or ridicule. Kagome let out an understanding hum while her fingers gently stroked his hair.
“Well, how about…you find me and I’ll just hold you until the universe implodes and we’ll call it a day?” Kagome offered - some wry amusement underlying the proposal along with something Inuyasha isn’t sure he’s ready to acknowledge quite yet.
Either way, no matter how she meant it,  hearing someone say they wanted to protect him when he was vulnerable and know they absolutely meant it was the most terrifying thing he’d ever heard. It was somehow also what officially tore down the fortress around his bruised heart. The world’s softest, most gentle battering ram won the day.
The broken child inside of him dusted himself off and smiled.
“Okay,” Inuyasha chuckled hoarsely as a tear broke free and his nose brushed against her neck, “Okay.”
Its all okay.

So it's not quite ready for AO3 buuuuuuuuuuut
I did make progress on The Thing aka my whole 7-part new AU for InuKag Week. After not writing anything for months, I'm a little rusty and this is more ambitious in terms of style and world building than I typically work with so I'm not sure when the whole thing will be ready, but I love love love @inukag-week and seeing so many folks coming out of hiatus to participate really inspired me to get *something* ready to rock.
Much love to @anisaanisa @kstewdeux and @dawnrider for their help as I shook off the cobwebs.
So here is Part 1: Love Languages (aka Touch & Miscommunication)
General Info:
Summary:
Kagome Higurashi would sell her soul to get into a good high school. No. Literally. The ratty old journal she found in her grandfather's shed may have been a long shot, but with only one more day before her entrance exam, she really didn't have anything to lose. But when the Hell Hound Inuyasha actually materializes in her room, it turns out to be more than either of them bargained for.
RATING: M or E (but this part is T, for language)
Words: 2,000 (I know I was shocked too)
TAGS (for the whole fic not just these parts) Modern AU // InuKag Week 2023 //Serial Style// Time Jumps//Tumblr events//Modern setting//Sexual content- masturbation//Demon Summoning AU//Bittersweet Endings//No additional character tags
In which Kagome learns to be careful what she wishes for.
Kagome checked the instructions one more time. She had the candle, the fresh meat, the knife, and was using clean linen paper. Honestly it all looked so… dorky. She let out a frustrated sigh, unsure if she felt more disappointed or just plain stupid. Doing stuff like this was probably why she wasn’t going to get into a decent high school. Or college. And if med school ever found out she honestly tried to summon a demon using instructions she found in a handwritten journal in a shed on her grandfather’s shrine she would have a better chance of becoming a patient than treating them.
And yet here she was. Kagome Higurashi on her knees in a black dress and dark cardigan looking straight out of an American horror movie, hoping against hope that her soul was worth a better-than-passing grade on tomorrow’s entrance exams. She was smart - smarter than her current situation made her feel, that’s for damn sure. But after nearly a semester of sick days there just wasn’t enough cram school on Earth to get her up to speed. She needed this to work. This had to work.
She checked the clock: a good hour before her mother and brother got home. It was now or never.
Taking a deep breath Kagome quickly sliced the kitchen knife across her finger. She pressed down onto the middle of the white page. With as much conviction as she could muster she finally spoke: “Inuyasha, I need help.”
A beat passed.
Then another.
Nothing happened.
Honestly, she didn’t know what she expected.  Defeated, she swore violently and tore the useless little paper with its stupid little spell clean in half.
As soon as the last fiber broke there was a deafening roar. Kagome screamed and stood, pressing her back against her bedroom door. In front of her the air crackled with energy as the room went black, then flashed orange with light and heat as the walls burst into unnatural flames. In the middle of the room, pulling his way out of the torn half of paper, was a giant white dog. It growled and snarled and snapped its jaws; spittle hissing into steam.
The Hell Hound filled the whole room, his red eyes with blue irises bore into Kagome, staring her down like the prey she was suddenly very sure she was. As Inuyasha’s shoulders dropped low to let him take the single step between them, Kagome considered her options.
One, burn to death.
Two, be mauled to death.
Three, something equally melodramatic considering she summoned a fucking demon to pass a test.
She quickly surveyed the room for an option four, looking hopefully at the window behind the hound. Her vision was blocked as the beast twisted slightly to face her fully again, its pointed white ears alert and focused on the heartbeat she could hear loud as a drum. She watched the ear twitch at her intake of breath. Maybe it was a lack of oxygen from the arson she’d accidentally committed, but the longer she looked at the ears the softer they looked. Figuring she was going to die anyway, Kagome slowly raised her hand; Inuyasha finally blinked, then moved his eyes to follow her raising arm.
As softly as she could manage, Kagome dragged her middle finger down from the tip, but the ear didn’t so much as flinch. Emboldened, she quickly caressed her thumb and forefinger on the fluffy white ear.
As soon as her fingers closed around the soft appendage the growling stopped and instead she heard a very human voice shouting in her face.
“What the fuck lady? You don’t pet a Hell Hound!”
As suddenly as it appeared the fire disappeared. Kagome dropped to her knees in confusion and relief as her room reappeared around her, untouched and unscathed by the flames no longer licking at her face. She blinked stupidly at where the monstrous dog had been only seconds ago. In its place was a pale, fit, glowering man - the pointy ears she’d just held in her hand perched on top of a thick pile of frizzy white hair. Below the pinned back ears were thick, scowling eyebrows, molten golden eyes with slit pupils, and an expression as black as a thundercloud. She tried to find somewhere else to look when the heat returned quickly to her face as she realized that the angry demon dog man was a naked angry demon dog man.
She ripped her eyes back to the ears. Unusual.
Then to his eyes. Unsettling.
The penis. Unexpected.
In an undignified fluster she smacked her face to the floor in a deep bow.
“My name is Kagome and my Lord Inuyasha I beg you to help me, please please I have to get into High School! In exchange I’ll give you anything you want I swear! Just make sure I pass and it’s yours.”
Inuyasha stood absolutely dumbfounded in the middle of what he now realized was a small bedroom, in a small house, next to a small shrine. When he’d felt his summoning charm call him he expected to rip into a board room, or a camp fire, or the aftermath of something that had gone very pear shaped. He was used to being offered souls, meat, or blood in exchange for power, murder, money; or to make problems go away in whatever manner he wanted. He sure as shit didn’t expect a teenager in a pink cat sweater to touch his ears and then ask him to help her cheat on a test.
He scoffed. But after five hundred years of the same pathetic, selfish demands, novelty wasn’t something Inuyasha was willing to walk away from so quickly. He bit.
“Keh, what can a girl like you even offer a hell hound?”
Kagome lifted her head slightly to look at him. “Anything you want. I’m a virgin-”
“Nope.”
“I am so!” she shouted indigently. She raised herself up onto her knees and glared. Yes, Kagome was turning to black magic to pass her exam but she wasn’t going to have her character assassinated by a demon. “You don’t have to be rude ya know!”
Inuyasha blinked as his ears flattened of their own accord. It had been a very long time since anyone scolded him. Another unexpected turn in this summoning. He crossed his arms and returned her glare.
“I mean no I’m not interested in your virginity. Or your soul, you humans have such tiny souls anyway.” He smirked as he saw her lip twitch with what he was sure was a scathing retort. Kagome, however, did not take the bait. Instead she reigned in her temper and bowed low again. In a much less desperate tone she spoke into the floor.
“In exchange for making sure I get into a high school that will get me into medical school I will give you anything you ask.”
“You summoned a demon for that? If you can’t even pass an entrance exam what makes you think you can survive medical school? Ya can’t offer your virginity to a demon twice ya know - how were you even gonna graduate?”
That, however, was too much. Kagome stood and stomped over to him, poking her finger into his chest for emphasis as she shouted.
“Listen here pal! I could pass that test all on my own if they would just give me some time! It’s not my fault I got sick, like doctors aren’t allowed to get sick sometimes!?” She growled in frustration, a sound that Inuyasha couldn’t help but appreciate as it sounded not unlike his own. “It’s not fair. I just need time to catch up on the material and I know I could do it on my own. But if I don’t take the test tomorrow, or I flunk and retake it, that’s it, my reputation will never recover even if my grade point average does.”
Inuyasha considered her request. I wouldn’t take any effort at all to change her score on the exam. But then he’d be back to aimlessly wandering until someone much less interesting with a much less, well not wholesome, but definitely more gruesome demand calls him. This Kagome stood up to him, defended herself, faced death in the eye and instead of running she reached out to touch it. While he had already decided to grant her wish, he had also decided he wasn’t quite going to do it the way she asked.
“You ain’t the only one with a reputation,” he said. He took a step back, cutting the tension and giving Kagome space to breathe. “If I’m gonna get you into this stupid special school I gotta make sure you stay there. Folks summoning me need to know I get the job all the way done, not taking the easy way out.”
Kagome narrowed his eyes, skeptical of the idea of creating an ongoing contract instead of the single transaction she expected. But then again, he wasn’t entirely wrong. What if changing her scores got noticed and she needed another fix? What if she got sick again? Isn’t that why you’re supposed to be really, really specific with genies? Assuming there were genies- but that afternoon’s events made her consider taking up antiquing as a hobby just in case.
“You still haven’t told me what you want as payment.”
“Well,” he said, “depends on what you need.” He picked at his ear with a pointed finger to feign disinterest. “To guarantee a passing grade I’ll just need something small. But to un-dead someone you cut up in clinicals will be a whole other matter,” he smirked at her undignified snort, “but not as much as convincing the class leader to take six months in Shanghai to improve your standing. But let’s not worry about that just yet.”
Kagome braced herself, but still felt the air rush out of her lungs when he finally said, “I want your right eye.” He continued quickly, “For one year, I want to see everything you see through that eye. It becomes my eye. If I get bored, I can simply make it go black. Or maybe I use it to track someone for another wish. Or maybe I don’t do anything at all; but it’s mine to do as I will.”
He slit open the tab of his left thumb with a quick swipe of his claw. “Do we have a bargain?”
Kagome hesitated. This seemed more annoying than costly- thought being suddenly blind in one eye wasn’t what she’d expected. Was this better or worse?
Did she really feel like she had a choice anymore?
“Deal.”
With one smooth motion Inuyasha thrust his thumb into her eyesocket. The force of the blow knocked her to the ground and she quickly threw both hands up to cover her face as her left eye burned. As soon as it started, it ended. Kagome blinked slowly, looking around the empty room. It looked exactly as it had an hour ago and if not for the dull ache behind her orbitals and the sweat caking her brow she might have thought it was all a dream. On hands and knees she scrambled across the floor and snatched the small mirror from the desk.
Staring back at her was one of her traditional brown eyes. The other was bloodshot, with a blown pupil, and a bright sapphire blue iris; and without her permission, it winked back at her.
