My second and third casebound attempts! I decided to start binding with some of the older fanfic I’d saved over the years. The Northwest Passage series by torch was one of THE big Mulder/Krycek fic back in the day. It’s a canon divergent slash (m/m) casefic and romance, and spawned an entire fanworks zine project.

This was my first try at printing covers on bookcloth. My bookcloth is all DIY, and for this one, I took a piece of a 100% cotton bedsheet, ironed it onto some freezer paper, ran it through a laser printer, and then peeled off the freezer paper and backed it with iron-on fusibile interfacing and scrape paper before making the case.

The spine is acrylic paint applied over a Cricut-cut vinyl stencil, and I was extremely annoyed with myself when I smeared a bit of white on the cover of Ghosts in the last few seconds of paint application. Whatever! I’m still really happy with how it turned out.

i rlly wish i liked totk. i was trying but this game is not doing much for me. think im gonna just hard focus story quests and at least see the plot but overall it's just not my kinda game

This was my first casebound book! Mistakes were made, but in the end, it turned out book-shaped, and it (mostly) opens and closes.

I wanted to start out by making books for myself of some of the older fanfic I've read and loved over the years, and I've got a few other fic by Torch on the go as well. China is a X-Files casefic crossover, Mulder/Methos.

I finished this one off a few months ago, and I've definitely had some more practice since then. Still pretty happy with how it turned out, though!
