This snippet is from my OP BB that I'm participating in!

Completely ignoring the kid now, he leans back and walks across the room, talking as he goes. “All it makes you, is a dumbass who forfeits his own life.” Porchemy says as he grabs his trusted blade and raises it above his head. However, before he can bring it down, Zoro and Sanji burst through the dilapidated shack door, with three swords and fiery legs welded.  Before anyone could blink an eye, the auras of demons had knocked out the entire shack and the two quickly cut Luffy from his dangling position, tucking him safely in the arms of Sanji.

ngl, the sanji moment at the end of this quote makes me tear up some - for my wci ppl, you know, you know

WIP Wednesday

don’t you remember. we, too, did such things in our youth

“Y-you said we got to…” he trailed off, eyes darting between them, unable to look at either of them for very long. He avoided that other girl approaching him last night for a reason. He didn’t do very well under attention. It made him clam up and want to disappear. He was very specifically not thinking about being inbetween them last night, the attention and brain fog making him sink slightly in a good way rather than a bad way. Weird. Steve grinned, leaning forward as he did. His eyes took their time roving down Jonathan and Jonathan couldn’t quite fight the urge to cover his torso. Maybe he wasn’t quite as sober as he originally thought. He swiftly turned around, intent on finally finding his sweater and getting out of here before he imploded or something (he was vaguely aware that he had walked into this room with more articles of clothing on, but jeans and his sweater seemed good enough for now). The gasp from Nancy followed by a swift giggle caused him to stop dead, turning around to see that she had somehow located her sweater and was pulling it on while Steve shook out the scrunched up blanket they had been laying on to pull out a sock. He wasn’t quite sure what caused that reaction, but Nancy leaning closer to Steve made him turn back around in a hurry. It was still so much just being in this room and he just wanted… There was his sweater.

We’re thrilled to announce our 2024/25 James/Regulus Big Bang! ☀️✨

For those who may be unfamiliar, a ‘Big Bang’ fest brings fanfic writers and fan artists together in a collaborative space to create illustrated fanfiction for a particular pairing. Over the course of several months, writers will write fanfiction centered on ‘Jegulus’ (James Potter x Regulus Black). Artists will then ‘claim’ those fics and create art for them!

Community is the backbone of fandom and we’re so excited to create a collaborative space for authors and artists to work together to contribute fan works to a ship that means so much to us. As we get closer to the fest, we’ll be sending out invitations to our Discord server so all of us can mingle and bond over our shared love of this ship!

We hope you follow along and reach out with any questions (or general excitement!). For additional information, including our schedule, look under the cut!

Authors are expected to submit one fanfic that is at least 20k words long (and no longer than 200k words). Since this is a J/R Big Bang, Jegulus must be the primary focus/ship. Secondary or background ships are permitted but must not be the focus of the fic. Authors are allowed to collaborate on a fic, but may only submit one fic (that means that if you co-write, you may not also submit an individual fic). Because of the timeline and word count expectations of the Big Bang fics we require all authors to have at least one existing published fic of 20k words. 

Artists are expected to submit at least two pieces of work per fic, including a banner and a piece of artwork. Artists may submit additional pieces of art for the fic they claim but are not required to! Artists will be allowed to select one fic to illustrate during initial sign ups. Artists may be allowed to select additional fics if some remain unclaimed!

Betas are welcome to join the fest! Authors are strongly encouraged (but not required) to use a Beta. Authors may bring their own Beta into the fest (we simply ask that they sign up as any other Beta might), or, if they do not have a Beta and would like one, the mods will pair an Author and a Beta for the fest. 

Rules and further information will be released soon. We wanted to introduce our fest to you now to give you all ample time to plan your fics since this is an open-prompt fest (meaning you decide on the plot so long as it is James Potter x Regulus Black-centric), and to shuffle your schedules/WIP plans around if needed.

hollywolf wip, drabble, soemthing?

If you asked him if he’d won the lottery, Leo would say yes. He wakes up in this little apartment that is all his and the street below is filled with more people than he could ever imagine. Sunlight streams in through the windows because there’s no rooster to wake him up or horses to feed. And his father might not bang down his door anymore but he still wishes he would.

This quiet life of late nights bar tending and long days painting the wild horses that slowly fade from the memories in his mind, it suits him quite well even if the city feels to big and too small. And he yearns for something bigger than him, bigger than the whole world but in reality it’s just a small piece of Oklahoma.

On his days off he likes the way the boys try to steal his cowboy hat or reel him in by the belt buckle. It’s just a costume to them, they don’t know that the faded denim has seen more of the world than they have.

Then theres a boy who says his name is Hollywood and Leo just agrees. Becuase he’s not the only one paying dress up in this world. And Hollywood is a fine looking thing with big hands and—

It turns out Hollywood really is his name, his call sign at least. But he’s in the Navy and Leo doesn’t need his heart broken by this city. Not by a man who has to disappear for months on end and for what?

But Hollywood is full of surprises. He lives in Lemoore. Stationed in the base. They keep sleeping together, which turns into waking up together and getting coffee and pastries in the morning.

Which one day it turns into Hollywood introducing him to a couple of guys called Maverick, Ice and Slider. They come to his apartment because it’s the safest place to be. Ice is like Hollywood, but sharper. He squints more and doesn’t quite relax

His RIO is Slider who’s fucking enormous and it seems like he’s there to make sure Ice cracks a smile. Maverick is all over him like a rash. He admires the oil painting that sits on an easel in the corner and babbles on about growing up in Dallas and he’s the closest thing to a kindred spirit Leo’s ever felt.

Wood snakes an arm around his waist and pulls him close. Not long after it seems like the ice is finally breaking for the stone cold pilot. He settles into an easy chatter and Leo gets the idea he’s quite bright because he’ll mention soemthing about poltics or the flying they all do and it goes over his head.

Someone asks him if he’s got any family. Hollywood makes an exclamation about ordering food before it’s too late and no one asks again.

ZKBB 2024 Basic Guidelines

What is a Big Bang?

A Big Bang is a collaborative event where writers are paired with artists and beta readers to write and edit a long fic with accompanying fanart within a specific period of time. In a traditional Big Bang, writers come up with their own story idea, and artists and betas bid for places on writers’ teams based on the story ideas submitted.

What are the story requirements for this Big Bang?

All stories should be centered around Zuko and Katara and their relationship.

Oneshots should meet a minimum word count of 6,000 words when completed, and multichapters should meet a minimum word count of 10,000 words before the end of the event.

Stories must be rated G or T on AO3

Big Bang fics must be new, standalone works. No continuations of existing series or published WIPs are allowed.

Story ideas should be secret before the start of the event to allow for fair, anonymous project bidding.

What are the roles and expectations for this Big Bang?

Writers will be expected to come up with their own story ideas, meet word count checkpoints throughout the event, share their progress with their team, and communicate with their team and the mods as needed.

Artists will be expected to create at least one finished piece of art for their project(s). Any type of art is welcome. Artists will be asked to meet several checkpoints throughout the event, and should share their progress with their teams as the event continues.

Betas will be expected to work closely with the writer and provide advice and feedback as the story is written. All beta readers should be able to provide SPaG feedback, and may be asked to provide additional support with plot and other creative decisions.

Other information

All participants are required to be active in our event Discord server. Work space within the event server will be provided for every team, and separate servers for individual projects are not allowed.

Members who are inactive for three consecutive weeks may be dropped from their project(s) or the event as a whole.

Members who miss formal check-ins (see our event schedule for dates) or fall behind on their progress will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.

Members are welcome to announce their participation in the Big Bang, but should not discuss specifics about their project(s) publicly until after posting begins (or for writers, after the reveal date).

Use of any AI text or image generators is not welcome in the Big Bang.

here are the character design sketches, i am not a very tidy artist

THEN came the clean-ish sketch, where i had 'fun' with having to finalise where things went

at this point i was a solid week into this and it was barely halfway done T-T

i then worked on backgrounds and flats- funny thing, i barely ever complete pieces because i have the attention span of a goldfish, so i literally had no idea how to colour things in ┌(。Д。)┐

THIS TOOK SO FUCKING LONG

I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH HOW PAINSTAKING THIS WAS

i was literally going insane over this ahdnsndn

FINALLY i was able to move onto shading/rendering(?)/details, and via the power of bullshitting my way through things, voila

at this point i had spent every day doing nothing but drawing for two weeks, but i was SO CLOSE to being done

then suddenly, the fire nation attacked something happened dun dun dun

because i was working with around 80 layers (i needed them all trust me <-lying), ibispaintx was running abysmally slow, and at this moment, it just CRASHED

i rushed back on and got this (0_0 )

i had to wait. FOURTY FIVE MINUTES. FOR THE WHOLE THING TO REPLAY AND TRY TO RESTORE MY FILE. at this point it was 3 am a day after the deadline and panic mode was activated

BUT i think the watchers may have been, well, watching over me at that point because miraculously, i got my file back, and i added a few finishing touches before collapsing on my bed in a heap

this whole thing overall was a fantastic experience, all the mods and participants in the discord server were super entertaining and friendly, and i want to thank each and every one of you for making this event so exciting >:D especially my teammates, and of course luna for creating it <3

funny thing this was literally my version of 100 hours hardcore since my canvas tells me ive been on it for around 150 hours ajdnjahd

Hello~  Yes I am back after being ia for months (curse the writing block) so I wasn’t even that active here on tumblr. It really warmed my heart to see people still tagging me like @hushed-chorus, @ileadacharmedlife, @larkral, @ic3-que3n and @artsyunderstudy! Thank you guys so so much <333 Now, as for snippets to share today I suppose I will share a couple since I have multiple wips that I am juggling. If the Mage looks into Baz being a vampire and finds out the truth what would happen? He would have to kick Baz out of Watford, right? The Mage always strives for the safety of the students. There is no way that he would be okay with a vampire around.

You know I'm a show off (I would let you get some): Pure, self-indulgent smut. My love letter to Steve Harrington's, well, everything. He's a goddamn tease in this and Eddie is along for the ride. Quite literally.

Louder: While laying in bed, the two of them can't help but overhear their upstairs neighbors going at it rather loudly. Eddie turns to Steve after a while, and asks, You wanna fuck louder than them to establish dominance? And that they do.

I’m tired of asking to settle the debt: my first ever steddie fic, written for Lex first seasonal challenge. 5 times Eddie warms Steve's hands and that one time Steve returns the favor.

Run Boy Run: Another self-indulgent smutty piece. I'm a passionate runner, and so is Steve in this one. Turns out, he had been running towards Eddie all along.

 Will you cleanse me with pleasure?: The obligatory monsterfucker, pardon me, monster love making fic. Eddie is a lake monster with way more appandages than Steve can handle. Or can he?

The next chapter of hold me close (I’m shaking apart) in which Steve asks Eddie if he wants to experiment. Eddie wants so much more, but he takes what he can get and tries to not let it break his heart.

Dear Future Self: Eddie is in love with Steve, who has become a fast friend after saving the world together but he's too afraid to make a move. Good thing his future self decides to help things along.

Take your time (I wanna cross some lines): Steve wants to try something new: getting used by strangers. He asks his best friend Eddie to watch over him while he's doing that so he can feel safe. But who watches over Eddie's heart?

History throws its shadow over the beginning: B-side to @legitcookie and my very first collab, I wore his jacket for the longest time. It's the same story, but told from Eddie's POV.

The fact that SHIELD would stoop so low was infuriating. Not that he really cared, he left the agency years ago, and Barnes no longer had a dog in this fight. Or at least that’s what he thought.

When Bucky was captured by HYDRA in Italy, he was given a full dose of the serum, not a partial. He’s nowhere to be found when Steve rescues everyone from that base, though Steve’s gut says his best friend is still alive, somewhere, somehow. As he and the Howling Commandos move through Europe, word surfaces of a lone HYDRA soldier stalking the allied forces, a lone soldier dressed in black and with unheard of strength. Unheard of, other than for their own Captain. But as Bucky, now the Winter Soldier, turns his attention to following Steve’s group, memories come back to his mind, and a face is far too familiar. What does this mean for Bucky, and can Steve figure it out in time to try to help him?

Turns out a lot can happen in nine months. — Steve didn’t need his first month back to make him aware of just how many degrees forgiveness comes in, but some lessons feel new each time. Getting a text from Sam asking him to Delacroix for the weekend feels like one tick closer and Steve’ll take it. He’s texting back when Sam adds, Bucky will be there. And Steve? Steve’ll take that, too. A post-The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Stucky Endgame fix-it where a lot needs fixing.

What is the Yorknew Art Auction?

A traditional Bing Bang allows for Writers to create fics over a long period of time, and allows for artists to draw for fics of their choice. The Yorknew Art Auction happily reverses these roles, and allows Artists to create wips that will be selected by writers! The goal is for writers to create a one shot based on their chosen art pieces selected from the Auction. This SFW Event is done at a much smaller scale. The theme of this event is everything and anything Yorknew! Including characters, canon content, and the great city itself!

Due to the quick pace and small size of the Auction, currently there will be 45 applicants
