There’s a lot going on at Six Broadway recently, so I thought I’d run down everything that’s happening/explain some things.

Hailee, Leandra, Bella, Nasia, Zoe, Taylor, Holli’ are all due to leave December 3rd!

Khaila, Storm, Jasmine, Olivia, Didi, Gabriela, Sierra and Wesley are set to join the show from December 5th!

Sierra is set to replace Holli’ as alternate A/C/H

Wesley has confirmed she is covering 4 queens.

Kristina, Aubrey, Ayla, Cassie are all set to stay in their current roles.

Cassie covers A/B/C/H, so presumably Wesley will take on S/P as well as 2 other tracks.

I presume Wesley will be based with the Boleyn Tour and Cassie will be based on Broadway, and they’ll join either productions as and when needed.

I predict Cassie will leave earlier and Wesley will step up as the only universal alternate.

Clarence Williams III (August 21, 1939 – June 4, 2021) was an actor. He played the character of Linc Hayes in The Mod Squad. He appeared in films such as Purple Rain, 52 Pick-Up, Tales from the Hood, Hoodlum, Half Baked, Life, American Gangster, and Reindeer Games. Born in New York City, he was the son of a professional musician, Clarence "Clay" Williams Jr., and grandson of jazz and blues composer/pianist Clarence Williams and his singer-actress wife, Eva Taylor. Raised by his paternal grandmother, he became interested in acting after accidentally walking onto a stage at a theater below a Harlem YMCA. He began pursuing an acting career after spending two years as a paratrooper in C Company, 506th Infantry, of the 101st Airborne Division. He first appeared on Broadway in The Long Dream. He appeared in Walk in Darkness, Sarah and the Sax, Doubletalk, and King John. His breakout theatrical role was in Slow Dance on the Killing Ground, for which he received a Tony Award nomination. His career included the role of Prince's tormented father, who was a musician, in Purple Rain, a recurring role in Twin Peaks, a good cop in Deep Cover, a rioter in Against the Wall, and Wesley Snipes' chemically dependent father in Sugar Hill. Trying to untangle this atrocious dead end on the family tree...

One of my 4th great-grandparents is a woman named Frances Mary Farrer, who married Edward Colbert. Both of them are hard to figure out.

1. 1850 Census

The first mention of Frances is on the 1850 census when she would be approximately a year old. There is a man listed as head of household named Gereah, aged approx. 47 (born in Kentucky), and the next person listed in the household is Mary A. Farrer aged 29. Adding this census info defaults Mary A to being her mother, but if Gereah and Mary are parents then it does not explain the other people living in the household because they range in age from 1 year old to 23 years old. My hypothesis is that Gereah is a widower and everyone listed in the household maybe are his kids? Or extended family? Counting Gereah, there are 16 people total listed in this household on the census.

The people in the household are:

Gereah (47), Mary A (29), George (23), Jackson (21), Sarah (19), Wesley (18), Mireah (17), Samuel (13), Indiana (10), Ezra (8), Almorida (7), Caroline (5), Mary J (4), Joseph (3), Perry (possibly Percy, 2), and Frances (1).

2. 1870 Census

Frances appears again in 1870 already married to Edward. Matching information includes birth year (1849), birth location (Indiana), and Mary A is listed now as the oldest adult in the household. This is where it gets weird. Though it is the same household, it’s split a little bit.

Family one: Mary A (47), Kitty (17), Joseph R (24), Oliver P (23), and Taylor (18).

Family two: Edward Colbert (36), Frances (21), Edward Jr. (2--this is who I’m descended from), Caroline (3 1/2), and Josey Griffith (6).

3. 1885 Kansas State Census

Still with me? This time, Edward Colbert Jr is on this list and he is not living with his parents. He’s living with Mary A Farrar. Katherine/Kitty, presumably Mary’s daughter, is listed as married and not widowed but not living with her husband. She’s living with her mother and their kids Nellie and Harry (12 and 9 respectively) and now there are other kids listed in this house with different surnames.

Frank (10) and George (7) brown, Edward Colbert JR (17), and then randomly a completely different married couple (Thomas and ML Atkinson, both aged 27) and their children George (3) and Lewis (1).

4. 1910 Census

Edward Colbert Sr and “Minnie” are listed on the 1910 census when he was living in a home for disabled veterans. Ed SR had fought in the civil war on the Union side in Kansas, discharged in 1865 (their son Edward being born in 1868), and admitted to this home in 1886 for both deafness and “failing of intestines”. This explains why their son was living with Mary A in 1885 potentially. What this doesn’t explain is why it says ZERO for “number of children born”. They had children as evidenced by the previously mentioned census reports. To make this even more confusing, their son Edward did marry a woman named Minerva--a name closely related to Minnie--but with the ages of the residents on this 1910 census it is clearly not them.

5. WHERE THE FUCK IS EDWARD SR FROM

1870: Listed as being born either in Indiana or Ireland, with both parents listed as “of foreign birth”

Kansas state census 1905 as well as other documents including army enlistments: Listed as being born in New York

1910 census: listed as being born in Connecticut with that state also being his father’s birthplace, and his mother’s birth is listed as Canada English

6. KENTUCKY FARRARS

There’s not a lot of them. What my plan is to try to look at families in Kentucky to find potential matches for Gereah. The closest that I’ve come is a marriage that was conducted between a Joseph Farrar and Mary A. Bell, but Joseph Farrar maybe also remarried at some point to someone completely different.

7. Josey Griffith?? Random unrelated people listed?

WHO is Josey who is on the 1870 census?? Was Mary renting her household out to boarders because she was a widow and trying to make ends meet?

8. Miscellaneous questions

Where is EVERYONE ELSE from the 1850 census??

EDIT: 9. another weird one

I found a relative match who has someone named Margaret Frances Colbert in their tree, b about 1850 and married to William Brown... and they had a son together apparently named Edward. This is on the 1880 census, where she would have been about 30 and Edward was 13. Margaret and William were not married until 1874 which is long after Edward was born.
