This soul stone is surrounded by the actual projection of ourselves, similar to how a heart is encased inside the body. It cannot be taken out easily. In fact, the only ones who can remove anyones soul stone from their physical projection is the First spinjitzu master, Sensei Wu, Sensei Garmadon, and the consciousnesses of the two realms of the dead. Other then them, not even the person whose soul stone it is can remove it from it’s home, and its no easy task for the ones who can either.”

“…If all of that is true, then how are we both looking at your soul stone?”

“….Unfortunately, my soul stone had faced extreme abuse years ago, leaving it fractured and….weak.”

“Is that why it has pieces floating around it? It looks almost like a planet, surrounded by its moons…”

“An interesting comparison.”

“Ahm…that’s besides the point. Why are you showing me this? If its so delicate that it can almost never be removed from its home, then why would it help us in our mission?”

“…the merge, has shown to create unique consequences over the years. One of such, being the slow return of the Preeminent.”

“What.”

“I can’t explain in too much depth to what had happened, we don’t nearly have that much time and I need to use it sparingly.”

“What are you talking about?!-”

“A soul stone is indeed delicate, Lloyd. So delicate, so precious, that the very existence of a soul relies on it.”

“The..what?..”

“If my soul stone gets into the wrong hands, if it faces too much harm, I will no longer be able to keep it connected and in ‘one piece’ as I have so far. I will be erased from existence, and so will all the knowledge I have so painstakingly collected.”

“…Where are you planning to go, Morro?”

“…A place I should’ve visited years ago.”

Will there be a fanfic of this? Probably not, since i can’t stick to finishing stories.

Anyways, take Morro from an AU i created in my head, theres no other content of it other then half completed stories in my notes/word documents and this post.

If anyone rlly wants me to, i can go more into depth of this AU and give it a name. But for now, all you need to know is that its mainly canon compliant, just with a few changes to the story of Morro and then the actual canon divergence starts during the merge. Some things before that will also be changed to fit ideas i have and things i like, such as the issue with Lloyds age.

Oh, alsooo! Morro in this drawing is still a ghost, but in this AU to differentiate departed ghosts from cursed, cursed ghosts look like how they did in the show and Morro’s og design, but departed ghosts tend to look more like how they did when they were alive (with some differences and yknow, being see- through)

So Morro in this looks like how his Departed ghost form would in this AU

I also realised that the gi itself looks a lot like Cole’s because of the black and orange. Pretend the orange is grey/green/yellow, pls and thank you.

I had fun drawing this with another newly acquired art style, this is also one of my first few times drawing Morro and being happy with it. Turns out i am very picky when drawing characters i like over literally anything else.

AN: Hello! I’ve decided to try myself out at this whole writing thing so here it is my first Regulus Black imagine I hope you enjoy and if you any ideas for a new story please dont be shy to request me or message me! Oh and I know its not perfect with all the book names and the homework so if you want to give me an idea of the correct way pls message me I am super open to learning how to improve my writing !

Summary: Reader has a major crush on the mysterious Regulus Black and has always observed him from a distance. She never thought that he would feel the same until proven otherwise late at night in the library.

Pairing: Regulus Black x Slytherin!Female Reader

Regulus Black was a mystery to most of the students that attended Hogwarts. Not much was known of about him other than the fear his last name caused many of his fellow classmates to feel, that he is the estranged brother of the well known and beloved Sirius Black, and that he was a seeker for the Slytherin quidditch team and a pretty good one at that. The aura of mystery that surrounded him made him prone too many rumours, most of them having to do with the group of wizards who all shared a similar tattoo on their forearm that proved their loyalty towards a former Slytherin student. He mostly kept to himself, always having a book not too far at his disposal in case he got bored of the conversation he was in with his fellow Slytherin pure bloods.

But if you payed attention to the little details like Y/N did, you would know his favourite class is potions even if he excelled in every class including defence against the dark arts the small glint of happiness and pride from a well brewed potion that showed in his hazel green eyes gave him away. You would also notice the almost peaceful look he had when he was playing quidditch as if all the other worries that plagued his mind vanished and capturing the golden snitch was the only thing that mattered. The uneasy look he had whenever the oils delivered the mail and he waited to see if he got any word from his parents and the relief he had when he had none or the frightened look when he did receive one. There were a handful of other little discoveries she had discovered over the years of observing him from the other end of the Slytherin dinner table, common room or class room. She couldn’t help herself, there was something about Regulus Black that intrigued her.

“Y/N…Hello? Earth to Y/N” Pandora waved her hand in front of her friends dazed out face hopping to get a reply as too wether or not she had understood Professor Slughorn’s assignment that was due in a few weeks.

Pandora followed her friends gaze that lead her to the youngest brother of the infamous Black family who seemed to be more interested in the leftovers on his plate from dinner than the conversation a Ravenclaw was desperately trying to have with him. Even if his last name caused fear in some didn’t mean they were blind to how handsome he was. Many of the girls in Slytherin had tried to get with him and were all turned down with a indifferent shrug or a forced smile and a cordial no. Y/N was one of the few Slytherin girls to have never pursued him but more shockingly to the most the only Slytherin Pureblood girl as well. Her family weren’t purist that believed that muggles were below them like some of the other pureblood families in Slytherin. In fact her family had a long line of being placed in Ravenclaw or on occasion Hufflepuff, she was the first to ever be placed in Slytherin which came to a chock to her family including her older brother who had saved her a seat next to him at the Ravenclaw table during the sorting ceremony. She was never shunned for being placed in Slytherin but she always did feel like the odd one out when she came home from Hogwarts and her family reminisced of they’re time at Hogwarts and all the fun parties they had in the Ravenclaw common room.

“You’re staring at him again” Pandora sighed while taking another bite out of her plate.

“Sorry… it just kinda happens sometimes I didn’t mean to be rude Pandora I apologize” Y/N replied, sending a apologetic look towards her friend, telling herself to focus all of her attention towards the conversation at hand instead of thinking about how good he looked today and how his hair looked extra soft. A soft blush appeared on her cheeks at the thought of being able to run her fingers through his soft curls.

“Ive told you a million times that I could introduce you to him I don’t understand why you won’t let me help you get to know the man of your dreams on a personal level instead of staring at him from a distance!” Pandora wasn’t wrong she could have introduced the pair a long time ago but Y/N refused saying that she was too shy and that she didn’t want to bother him like the other girls did.

“So about the assignment”she said quickly, tucking a stray piece of hair behind her ear hoping that Pandora will drop the subject.

“I would be happy to help out the oh so clever Pandora in this simple potions assignment what do you need help with oh wise one”

“You know what maybe I should ask Regulus for help instead, I know he wont mock me with sarcasm and who knows I could tell him some interesting stories of one of his many secret admirers that I just happen to sit next to every potions class” Pandora said, slowly starting to place her papers into a neat pile and closing the many books she had laid out in front of her in hopes of helping her make sense of the difficult assignment she was currently stressing over.

“No!” Y/n replied quickly placing her hand over Pandora’s hand in attempt to stop her from getting up from her seat to go talk to the boy who’s name made her heart flutter. Pandora smiled triumphantly at her friend and let out a small giggle before settling back down into her seat. Y/N bent over the table to grab the assignment paper, shooting her a fake death glare before reading over what Pandora had already written down.

“I should give you the wrong answers for always holding that over my head you know” she said jokingly, a small giggle escaping her lips.

“Shut up you know you love me more for it”

The two girls got to work, laughter could be heard from time to time from they’re end of the table. Little did they know that a certain hazel eyed Slytherin was admiring them from afar, his nose now in a book. A small grin could be seen breaking through his usually unbothered face whenever he heard her laugh alongside the blonde Ravenclaw that sat in front of her.

After a few more hours of work the two girls had finally finished the written part of the assignment, the once filled dinning hall now only hosted a few students who had stayed behind instead of heading off to enjoy the rest of their night somewhere else in the school. They had both decided to call it a night, well Pandora did Y/N wanted to head to the library before going back to her dorm room to grab a new book having already finished the one she had taken a few nights ago. The blonde Ravenclaw wished her friend a good night before heading towards the Ravenclaw common room. Y/N walked towards the library, the sound of her footsteps could be heard as she made her way to one of her favourite places in the school. Once arrived she smiled to herself, the smell of books and burned candle wax filled the hair and she felt at piece. She made her way over to the history of magic section, her fingers trailed across the binding of the books that were displayed along the way. A sigh of contempt could be heard once she found the book she was looking for. She flipped through it before heading towards the front desk to sign the book out until she heard someone speak to her.

“You won’t be disappointed in that one, it’s one of my favourites”

Y/N froze, her heart skipping a beat as she recognized who the voice belonged to. She slowly turned around, trying to hide how nervous she was as she came face to face with the one and only Regulus Black.

“Oh I mean I’ve read the authors previous book so I have high expectations for this one” she said looking down at the book, too nervous to hold eye contact for too long.

“Yeah I saw you reading it during divination class” he admitted and he thanked Merlin that she was looking at him long enough to notice the slight blush that crept up his cheeks. Y/N could feel her heart stammering against her chest, her mind going wild at the thought that not only did he knew who she was but that he was looking at her during class.

“I’m Regulus by the way” he said quickly after.

“I know we’ve been in each other’s classes since 1st year” Y/N replied way too quickly and she wanted to slap herself silly for responding like a stalker would.

“I’m Y/N”

The two stood in silence and Y/N thought to herself Come on say something, anything, just talk to him!

“I don’t know if you’ve ever read it but there’s this really great book about Runes that you might enjoy if you liked this one” she said sheepishly. She dared to look him in the eye and it took her breath away. She knew he was gorgeous but in this light he was angelic. His brown curls framed his face perfectly, a few strayed in front of his face that gave her the need to tuck them back, his eyes gleamed and she could spot the green patches that meshed into the hazel that she could stare at for hours without ever feeling like it was long enough.

“Can you show me?”

“Y-yeah” she cursed herself for stuttering in front of him as she made her way back towards the never ending bookshelves. The book she was looking for was in a isolated part of the library, no student in sight as she finally found the right bookcase, Regulus following her closely. She started to look for the red binding of the book she’s read more than once, not noticing the way the boy that stood next to her was admiring her every move from the way her eyes squinted when she looked up, to the way she kept biting her lip before muttering the tittle’s of books. He smiled to himself, proud that he finally got to courage to talk to the girl that has been plaguing his mind day and night for months. Regulus didn’t know when it started but he did know that every time she walked into the room he had to remind himself not to stare too long or else she might think he was a creep or something. He also knew that he every time Pandora hung out with him and his friends and spoke about Y/N he payed extra attention to what she was saying in hopes of getting to know her better without actually talking to her. Until now.

She finally found the book that she was looking for but as if this whole interaction wasn’t nerve breaking enough she wasn’t tall enough to reach it.

“Um I’m too short to get it but its the red one with the rune inscription along the back” she said and she swears that she caught him staring at her, almost in a daze of some sort. The same kind she often found herself in when looking at him. He takes a few steps closer to her, his eyes never leaving hers except to look at the book he was reaching for. She suddenly realized how close they were, she could practically feel his hot breath fanning her face as he reached up and grabbed the book she described. Her breath hitched as placed the book on a random shelf and reached up to tuck a loose strand of hair that had fallen in front of her face but had gone unnoticed when she was searching the books earlier. His hands were warm, warmer than she had expected and she found herself leaning into his touch ever so slightly. He looked at her, really looked at her and appreciated her beauty that he was so used to seeing from a far.

“You know I’ve seen the way you look at me” he whispered, taking a small step closer, towering over her as she felt her cheeks turn red from embarrassment.

“I-I” she stammered but she couldn’t think of a reply. She was mortified but she didn’t dare move not wanting to lose the closeness she has with him, the closeness she’s only dreamed of having with him. His hand was now caressing her cheek softly before speaking again.

“I know this because I stare at you the same way” his nose nudged her’s and her eyes fluttered shut for second before opening up as realization set in and his words echoed in her head. The same way

“I can’t tell you how many times I’ve thought of kissing those plump lips of yours every time I see you bitting it when you’re reading” he started into her eyes before they flicked down to her lips in temptation.

“Regulus” she whispered.

“If you want me to kiss you as badly as I do I need to hear you say it” once again nudging his nose against her’s but this time his lips brushed over her own teasingly.

“Please”

That’s all that he need before softly placing his lips on hers fully, his other hand going up to cup her other cheek. She closed her eyes, her head spinning and she could believe this was happening. That she was kissing Regulus Black in the library and that it wasn’t just another dream or fantasy this was real. She kissed him back, her hand softly gripping this wrist. He pulled back and smiled when he saw that her cheeks were red, probably just as red as his were. She bit her lip, nerves creeping her as she hoped that he enjoyed it as much as she did but her worries soon washed away once she felt his thumb pull at her bottom lip prying it out of her teeth. He bent down kissing her again but this time he was more passionate, he let one of his arms wrap around her waist pulling her body flush against his as the other went from her cheek to back of her neck softly holding it in place. She had let out a small gasp that allowed him to slip his tongue into her mouth and explore the new found territory. A wave of confidence washed over her and she was finally able to run her hand through his curly brown hair like she had wished for earlier today. She tentatively tugged at it, earning a groan out of the boy was currently snogging as if her life depended on it. She decided that in that moment she would do anything to hear that sound again so she wrapped her arms around his neck as she ran her fingers through his hair tugging at it randomly. As the two separated, foreheads leaning against one another both a bit breathless for their shared kiss they never tried to move away from one another. They enjoyed the closeness they had and they wanted to relish in the moment they just shared.

“So hogsmade on Friday ? Wanna go together” he asked while gently massaging the small of her back with his hand.

“As in a date?”

“Yes silly as in a date” he chuckled.

“ I would love to”

My wednesday and saturday mornings are full of laughter because of these two 🤣✋🏻

Ranking Alucard's Designs, Best to Worst

I've had a rough day and feel like being mean. These are just my opinions. Some rules:

I’m not counting each game a character appears in unless the design is noticeably different. I don’t count different art styles as a different design. I’m not counting the mobile game skins with two exceptions. For the most part it’s just him but purple. However, for your pleasure, joker Alucard:

Symphony of the Night

No surprise. It’s his most iconic design. He’s gorgeous. I enjoy how he wears a mixture of human clothes (the jacket) and more stereotypical vampire clothing like the cape. Same with warm colors with black and silver.

2. Grimoire of Souls

I love this design. I kiss it every night before I go to bed. I pray to it on Sundays. His waist makes me go feral. The only thing that bothers me is the brown lining. I wish they did something like the inside of his SotN jacket.

3. Moonlight Rhapsody – Outfit 3

I know absolutely nothing about this game. However, I love this skin. In my head when I imagine Alucard pre-Dracula betrayal this is it. The collar is a bit silly but I can look past it. I love the sleeves. The only critique I have is the brown and we’ll get to my feeling on Alucard wearing brown. But on this outfit, it’s not too bad.

4. Nocturne

They gave him his gay little neck ruffle back nature is healing. I wish they kept the details on the coat, but I’ll happily take the trade. I like his face.

5. The cancelled Dracula’s Curse movie concept art

I need to know what the context behind this would have been. The skirt, the pauldrons, his bloody hands, HIS HAIR PUSHED BACK. The only thing I dislike is his black nipple.

6. Aria and Dawn of Sorrow

I like the suit. The red pocket square is nice. I think it is a really interesting choice for it to be red rather than yellow as a callback. I love the choice to make him resemble Dracula pre-vampirism. All of his color has been drained and replaced with black and red. I go back and forth on if I hate or like (for symbolic reasons) his tie-neck ruffle thing. But none of that is my real problem with the design. His shoes are hideous. The heel is good. He deserves a little heel. But what is going on with the white. It's ugly and going to be a bitch to keep clean. His slacks are too long. He’s a government agent, he can afford to go to a tailor.

7. Season 1 & 2 of the show

I dislike the shirt. I’m not a big fan of how they drew his face either. But I like how they gave him Trevor’s chest scar.

8. Captain N

He’s so rad. But to be honest, Captain N Alucard has a special place in my heart. I remember when this was the closest thing to an animated series Castlevania had. It being this high is purely my nostalgia. I highly recommend watching the episode. It is pure 90s camp.

9. Season 4 of the show

Whore.

10. Grimoire of Souls – Blood and Loyalty

I can’t find a better look at this skin. He’s apparently dressed as a samurai. I like this purely because his hair is up. I don’t see enough of that. (artists pls you’d be doing the world a service)

11. Lords of Shadow 2

The only thing I like about this design is the coat. The dark blue with gold looks really good. I don’t like the belts, but I can ignore them. My issue is the armor. I hate the bronze so much. The armor on one hip is ugly. The ONLY thing that salvages this crime is the fact this Alucard is wearing the highest heels. This looks like an MMO armor set.

12. Judgement

I only unironically like 2 of Judgement’s designs. This is not one of them. I dislike it purely because of how boring it is. They put Simon in bondage gear, gave Trevor a boob window, and made Sypha a Catholic magical girl. But Alucard has to be more modest than the actual child. They could have fun with this but didn't. The most interesting thing about this design is they made a vintage couch into his cape.

13. Dracula’s Curse

This is Alucard’s original design. It’s just your standard pop culture vampire. I like his little owl hair tufts.

14. Legends

I’m fine with changing up Alucard’s design. Hell, we got SotN because of changing it. However, why is he blue? It’s not this illustration either he is just light blue for some reason. I like the short hair. I think it’s a cute way to show this game takes place in the past. But again, purple? Really? His necktie is not doing it for me either. It looks really bad.

15. And finally, last and certainly least: Pachinko and Moonlight Rhapsody

The faces? Good. Hair? Good. But for some reason they made his coat brown. At LEAST for pachinko they had some gold gauntlets and brown gloves instead of his sleeve cuffs. But whatever fucked up person at Konami did the design for MR kept the sleeve cuffs. It’s not like there is the excuse of ‘Oh the inside is black’ because it’s yellow. Now you might be asking: Why is this the worst? I have similar issues with other designs. But here is the thing, they all did something new. This is just your standard SotN Alucard with a color palette change. It looks like a recolor skin but it’s the main one. It's a bad change but not one bad enough to not be boring.

It's something rare that I look back and actually kinda liking the result- 😂 I've been trying to improve my panels flow(?)/pacing And the Lettering- adding words in comics is pretty hard 🥺 if you had some insights, pls let me know ❤ or just give me what you think... Hi! Thank you for waiting this long hahaha

First of all I love your Yugi, is so freaking adorable, big fan over here aaaaaa.

And okay we're gonna talk about comics. Oh boy. It's not a topic I dont like talking but it's something I get way too.... intense, even if I feel I don't have much to defend with. Anyway I'll try to not be so detailed and serious about it so I can bring a decent commentary!

Disclaimer that I have a lot of issues with the use of thought bubbles, but that's a me thing. Myself I try to avoid them so I can focus on a "show more, talk less" type of flow. So if I start talking about them it's because of that, not that you'r doing a bad thing or anything.

I like how you use the panels, by themselves and ignoring the dialogues, they work perfectly fine! I think my thing with the pacing is that I'd draw a 3-4 pages comics instead of 2 for this scene alone. It's a pain I know, but I think for this type of scenario adding a little more of time could help to appreciate some details, like Kaiba being notoriously angry, the moment he touches Yugi's forehead, etc. But this is also a very personal opinion because I'm a sucker for very sloooow interactions, so all this I'm saying is for the sake of a slower pacing. Sadly you gotta draw more or write less if you want to get that effect, also you can get in a situation where things end up vague and ugh, what a pain hjdfhjhds.

I have a serious problem with dialogue bubbles, I never know where to put them Dx. I always feel they're on the way or that they hinder the reading or that they look straight up ugly hahahaha. I think you use a good space for them! they're not in the way of the faces or important scenes, but I can see you needed to add arrows for the conversation to work. In my opinion the dialogue works perfectly without the arrows. We all know there are two people talking so having only the faces on the bubbles was enough to understand who was talking and what order follow.

Now, if you want to work on bubbles without using the faces to show who's talking and don't lose the order in the way, I could recommend something like this:

Sorry if it looks way too clumsy! But a thing we artist have to deal is how the order of the bubbles affects on the flow of the dialogue. Specially when we don't have a specific way to show how the person talks (for example japaneses have many ways to show character's expression so it's easier for them to identify it.) So we need to focus on the flow.

A wonderful person who talks TONS of this matter is the motherfucker Scott McCoud!

This is just an example of how dialogues can contribute to the time and spaces and how the order affects the reading. This is not the exact example for what I mean but Scott is a badass of the comic and the complexity of it.

Understanding Comics The invisible Art is a masterpiece, I blame him for making me doubt is I'm doing a good job or not.

Okay before I go way too into this, one last thing and this is personal opinion. I love white background but you gotta be very careful to not make it look like lazyness. You don't need to draw a full background but maybe adding some shading can help to make the illusion of space rather than having a blank space. Of course this is just my opinion.

Anyway, I really like how you work! my huge recommendation would be to simply take your time on it, I feel it shows a bit of impatience or nerviousness, but that's just my idea. So far you're going a good way on creating comics and I'd love to see more of them :3

HELLOO!!! AAAH Thank you so much for such a thoughtful question, this makes me so happy to hear! I'm so sorry it took me so long to get back to you, it turns out I have way too many things to say about this topic AKLSDHFKLSDG

For the starting point in a design, I try to stick to whatever rules apply for the setting the character is in, and their role in that setting.

Basic colour theory is always at the back of my mind, as well. I tend to use analogous and complementary colours when I design my characters and their closets. Analogous colours keep a palette contained and feeling similar to itself without being monotone. And then using colours that are complementary to that elsewhere in the design adds contrast while still maintaining that feeling of cohesion :D

The intended use of the character also heavily affects what can make a design cohesive or not - it's very dependent on art style and medium. (A design for use in animation would be extremely different from semi-realistic TTRPG concept art. The rest of what I've written skews more towards the second option!)

I consider the colours, shapes and materials that make sense for what I want to convey about the world, and how the character would want to be presented in it. The Dogwood characters are my current exercise; Mel's clothes fit him perfectly since he works a labor intensive job on the farm, and his identity is wrapped up in it so he never strays far from heavy cotton, straight cut. Ryan and Park both wear ill-fitting clothes in completely different ways (Ryan, butchly. Park, autistic and transly) - and they each have work uniforms. Ryan's work uniform suits her gnc appearance (welding coveralls/safety gear), while Park's uniform completely transforms him into "Just Some Guy" and that changes how others read him, too (cashier). And they all shop at Local Thrift Store / Farmer's Surplus / The Walmart 1hr Outside of Town. Their styles give them each a distinct silhouette, and their levels of social comfort as well as public expression contribute to body language, colour choices, and shapes that make them stand apart from each other despite living in the same small bubble. COHESION!

Asymmetrical details and features are my FAAAAV THEY ARE SO FUN, I find inspiration for these in people-watching, nature documentaries, architecture, my reflection, my friends.. <333 This part is also fun to tie in to the character's setting! Springboard questions like. Are they prone to injuries? Magical injuries? Do they have like, modern dental procedures available? Do they give a shit about crooked or crowded teeth? Are they missing a tooth, or did they chip one? Do they smile a lot and have crow's feet/other wrinkles? Do they get a lot of sun, and do they have/use sunscreen? (Even finer wrinkles.) Did they have acne as a teen? Do they still? Are they in a combat-heavy setting, with the scars to show it? Even more uniform features like freckles aren't symmetrical.

Clothing is really good to use to play with asymmetry - maybe the character rolls their cuffs but one is coming undone a little. Jewelry of all types is also great for asymmetry since it can go anywhere on the body!! Facial and other physical deformities or injuries are also incredible to see, and should be researched to find out if they impact other parts of a person's overall health and mobility outright. The different skin texture of a birthmark, for example! I noticed in certain photographs, the subject's red birthmark changed the texture of the skin, so I started drawing Orson with one drooping eyelid on the side affected by his birthmark. The more you look, the more you find!

Before I get too carried away. I try to use asymmetrical details and features as a way to boost that "world setting" cohesion, and to bring attention to parts of the character I am personally endeared by or want other people to notice. Mahon's snaggletooth is an eternal fav, which made me draw him smiling more, which made me more prone to drawing lines around his eyes. And since the anchor is in his left hand, and he tries to hide it subconsciously, I put thumb-holes in his left sleeves, which he plucks through as a nervous fidget, and as a result, his clothes pull a little across his entire body :D ITS VERY FUN to find the right jumping-off point that lets specific details click into place. For Mahon especially, since so many of those details are derived from the setting and his role in it!

Asymmetry and symmetry are just tools at ur disposal. Asymmetry tends to be more comfortable and natural. Symmetry gives a sense of stability and can be pushed for a sense of power, a sense of being uncanny, rigid, etc. Asymmetry can also be pushed into uncaniness depending on what it's applied to!! (But as a matter of personal taste, I find asymmetrical details to feel more natural and inviting than perfectly symmetrical ones. Which. Again. Depending on the character's purpose, could equally contribute to a cohesive design!!!)

OMG ok my final thought. Asymmetry can also be used as a balancing tool which yet again lends to a sense of cohesion. Adding a detail on the left while leaving it out on the right, repeated throughout with different details where applicable. Loam's colour spots, archery gear, scars and jewelry are all areas I've played with this idea.

ALRIGHT WASSUP I love your art style and am an art student so I know a little bit bout what makes art recognizable, (not an expert and definitely not good at remembering terms so don't act like this is some art bible) lemme tell you what I think makes your art recognizable and "lux".

First, you got your shape language. That would be what the other person was referring to as proportions. (Since we're talking about Sora, proportions is absolutely not a wrong word to use, but I'm going to talk about shapes specifically.) The cheek? Always the exact same little curve, same spot, the forehead is the same, which creates a head shape that is incredibly recognizable as you. The hair is also always the same, which may seem weird considering your drawing hair that's pre established but you have a very unique way of doing it. The shape of his lower hair on the back of his head especially stands out to me. His body is always the same type of lanky, you draw his arms and hands a very particular type of way. Overall, very recognizable and consistent.

The colors you use. Honestly, I don't even know how to describe this, and I literally took a class on colors. The only word I can think of is "surreal". They're usually very vibrant, but destaturated at the same time? Like you're taking vibrant colors and putting desaturated ones on top? Genuinely hard to describe. It is one of the most beautiful color jobs I've ever seen tho, and I'm not exaggerating. If you could explain I'd honestly love to try (read: steal) whatever technique you use. Also very consistent, even in the black and white photos. I think it's partially lighting but I digress.

The other person brought up your eyes, and that's probably one of THE most consistent parts of your art I notice. I'm not rly gonna go into detail, cause you said you worked on eyes a lot so I'm gonna just leave you to that honestly cause the eyes you draw are iconic imo. Beautiful. Stunning. Breathtaking. No notes just keep it up 🫡

Your lines (and the texture of the drawing) are specifically sketchy, like a very specific type of sketchy. I'm guessing it's the texture of the brushes you use, and it also makes it consistent and recognizable. This is probably one of the things that makes the black and white photos more recognizable as well, since they don't technically have colors to with with and, imo, that's one of the most recognizable parts of your art. The very specific shapes you use are about on par with the colors, with everything else gradually moving down the list.

Unlike looking at someone else's work, it's very hard to distance myself far enough from my own to see it's prominent features.

For color I can I say I am aware of color theory and mostly follow a sensible routine of cool shadows and warm light points, things that are further away seem more blue etc. etc... But at some point while drawing/painting I do usually fall into adding and prodding the colors into a more impressionistic vibe and away from realism, mostly favoring cool toned colors and adding tones to places that they realistically shouldn't be, but they aesthetically please me, so.

Thank you for all the compliments, I've re-read this quite a few times now, but don't really know what to say besides a boring thank you~! This has left me a lot to ponder, and I'm very glad for your writing..!

Finally finished my Fíli ref sheet!

Since this is my version of Book!Fíli I only kept a few details of PJ!Fíli (moustache braids, twin swords) but everything else is what I went for for his book design!

I may not be given much but by God I'll make Fíli look good

Decided he's a blacksmith and Kíli is a Weaver so he's more on practical attire and goes for battle ready clothes. He has a spade and a firestarter kit in his tools, twin swords and a dagger for his weapons and ofc, his fiddle.

I figured Fíli has a stronger Durin Line gene (blond, blue eyes and long nose) while Kíli resembles their dad more

All the notes in his ref sheet are a mix of headcanons and written canon

I have many request to complete so this is me knocking out one of the request. My inbox is closed at the moment but I'll still be posting and will open it back up soon.

Husk didn’t really care about working at this hotel. In his words he didn’t want to do any charity work. But Alastor made him stay and help out. Husk really couldn’t say no and there were reasons behind it. Reasons Husk didn’t feel like telling anyone and couldn’t tell anyone. So Husk did his work at the hotel. Sometimes he complained here and there. Having to tell Angel to screw off and for Charlie not to hug him for doing a good job. The only people he could stand were Nifty and Vaggie. Husk would just work, drink, and sleep. Everything just felt like a cycle that was until Joey had joined the hotel. Husk stared at Joey for a moment and felt a weird feeling in his chest but he thought it was just from the alcohol so he pushed it aside. Charlie had called a meeting and introduced Joey as someone who will be working here at the hotel. That he would be helping with the teenage sinners. Husk hoped that Joey wasn’t annoying as the others. And to Husk surprise he wouldn’t but Joey would make sexual jokes with Angel or silly jokes with Alastor. Joey was great at his job when it came to teens understanding certain patterns that landed these teenagers in Hell. He was always helping Charlie with ideas for the hotel like when they threw a summer festival at the hotel and everyone had fun. Husk himself even enjoyed it. Husk found himself enjoying seeing Joey. It was night and Husk had finished closing the front desk, he decided he earned himself a smoke break and walked outside to the back alley. That’s where he stopped Joey and saw him smoking. Husk wasn’t up to date with many things but he could see that Joey was vaping. Husk never understood anything about vaping but he wouldn’t judge because times are changing and things are and will be different. Husk walked over and saw that Joey was upset. Husk pulled out a cigarette and lit it. “ What’s up with you? “ Husk said as he placed the cigarette to his lips. Joey looked over at Husk and sighed. “ I made a stupid choice. You see I wanted to impress Alastor even though Vaggie warned me not to do so. I asked Alastor to dance thinking I could wing it since I love to dance but I accidentally knocked down Alastor’s radio and broke it, even though he said it was okay. I couldn’t help but cry and run off because I embarrassed myself and I feel so fuckinf stupid! “ Joey said. As he weeps and looks down. Husk sighed and looked at Joey, feeling bad Husk knew how it felt to be embarrassed when trying to impress someone. “ Hey, now don’t beat yourself up, sure you might have embarrassed yourself but come on we all screw up and make fools of yourselves. I’m surprised that Alastor didn’t send you to a different part of Hell for breaking his radio. So if he didn’t then he must not have been upset. But again don’t beat yourself up. “ Husk decided to try a tactic that Charlie had him do whenever he was upset. “ Joey, look at me. “ Husk said. Joey stared at Husk with tearful eyes. Husk wipes away Joey’s tears and gives him a serious look. “ This may seem silly but just follow my lead. “ Husk looked around and lifted his arms in the air. Joey stared at Husk with confusion.

“ Come on, just do it. “ Husk said. Not wanting anyone to walk into the alley and see them. Joey nodded and lifted his arms in the hair. “ Close your eyes. “ Husk said while he closed his eyes. Joey closed his eyes. “ And now deep breathes in and out. “ Husk said. As he was teaching Joey some breathing exercises. Joey did what Husk said. The two of them taking deep breaths, pausing, and then breathing out. This continued for a few minutes and Joey started to feel better. It also made Husk feel better that he didn’t want to smoke. Husk opened his eyes and dropped his arms to the side. “ Alright, do you feel better. “ Joey opened his eyes and smiled and gave a nod. “ Yeah, I feel a bit better thanks Husk, can I give you a hug? “ Joey asked. This surprised Husk because his boundaries usually weren’t respected mostly by Angel, Alastor, and Charlie. “ Eh…. sure but make it quick. “ Husk said, mumbling. Joey hugged Husk for about five seconds then pulled away. A part of Husk wished the hug lasted longer but he couldn’t get attached. “ I~I’ll I’ll see you around Joey. “ Husk walked back inside the Hotel. Joey smiled and was grateful that Husk calmed him down and talked with him. The next morning Joey was listening to just a couple of songs from the musical Hamilton. He had gotten Charlie addicted to the musical that the two would sometimes listen to it. Husk couldn’t stop thinking about Joey yesterday after what happened. He thought about asking Joey to have a drink with him but he wasn’t sure if Joey was a drinker so he thought maybe he could take Joey to a magic show that was happening. “ Come on, just ask them. “ Husk thought to himself. Husk closed his eyes and sighed. Maybe getting out of the hotel would be good and he could share his special interest with someone. Husk took a deep breath and walked over. He tapped Joey’s shoulder and Joey turned around, he took off his headphones and smiled. “ Hey Husk, what’s up? “ Joey said, with a sweet smile on his face. “ There is this magic show happening tonight, do you wanna go or not because you don’t have to go if you want, I don’t care. “ Husk said, mumbling the last part.

“ Sure, Husk, I would love to go with you to a magic show. Better than staying up another night and playing my game. “ Joey said, chuckling nervously. Joey didn’t want to tell Husk that he stays up late at night playing Mystic Messenger and Genshin. So maybe a change of routine would be nice and Joey hasn’t really explored all of Hell. Husk was happy to hear that Joey agreed to go to the magic show with him. “ Great! “ Husk coughed and looked at Joey. “ I-I I mean great… I’ll pick you up at 8pm. “ Husk said, trying to sound more serious. Joey chuckled seeing that Husk was trying to act chill. “ I’ll be ready then, I have to go now. I promised Angel and Niffty that we’ll go shopping. “See you tonight Husk. “ Joey smiled and walked off as Husk felt his heart do a little dance. He walked off not knowing that a certain radio demon was watching. When it was getting close to 8-pm Husk was dressed up all and had one single rose that he didn’t steal from the hotel garden. He walked towards Joey’s apartment and knocked on the door. When the door opened, Joey stood there dressed up in their romantic goth style which Husk thought Joey looked amazing. “ This is for you. “ Husk handed Joey the single rose. Joey reached out and grabbed the rose and smelled. “ Thanks. “ Joey turned around and placed the rose in a vase and stepped outside his apartment to lock the door. The Husk and Joey walked to the entertainment place called Demonic Entertainers. Husk walked up to the booth and paid for two tickets. He walked over and handed Joey his ticket. “ The show shouldn’t be too long so if you want we can go get dinner after. “ Husk looked at Joey while rubbing the back of his neck. “ I don’t mind paying for the dinner either. “ Husk said. He wanted to impress Joey u tonight and treat him this night. “ Dinner would be nice. “ Joey said. Husk smiled and walked with Joey inside as they handed their tickets to the guy.

Joey and Husk took their seats while the show was about to start. Joey could see how excited Husk was for this show to be at this place. Joey made a mental note. Husk was like an excited child while watching the show on stage. The magic was always amazing to Husk. After the show was over Husk couldn’t stop talking about the magic show. Joey thought this was adorable watching Husk go on about the magic show. Once Husk was done speaking. He looked at Joey and let out a nervous chuckle. “ Sorry if I’m boring you. “ Husk said. “ No you aren’t boring me, I don’t mind hearing you talk about something you are passionate about. “ Joey said, walking down the street with Husk. “ Thanks, Joey. “ Husk continued to walk with Joey and found a nice small dinner called Auntie Bee’s Diner. He opened the door for Joey and The two walked inside the smell of the food made Husk’s stomach growl. He hadn't eaten anything all day; he had been too excited to take Joey to the magic show. The two of them took a seat as the sheep looking demon woman handed them their menu. Husk decided to order a steak and eggs with a small drink. While Joey ordered whatever looked tasty on the menu. The waitress gave a nod and walked off. “ So Joey, how did you end up in Hell?, if you don’t mind me asking. “ Husk took a sip of his drink. Hoping that Joey wouldn’t find that question uncomfortable since most people who end up in Hell had traumatic experiences. Joey closed his eyes thinking about how he ended up in Hell and told Husk about how he came to be in Hell. Husk made sure to listen since he wanted to learn more about Joey. “ You had an interesting life. “ Husk said. “ And now I have an interesting life in Hell. I even found out I could put hits on my enemies who are still alive. This guy named Blitz gave me one free kill for next time because he said I was cute. “ Joey said. The last part made Husk feel a bit jealous but he wouldn’t show it. The waitress came back with the food. After eating and talking, Husk paid and walked with Joey. Husk walked Joey back to his apartment and smiled. “ I’m glad we got to hangout tonight, thanks for your company at the magic show. You aren’t as annoying as the others at the hotel. “ Husk said. “ No problem, thanks for inviting me, I had lots of fun, maybe next time I can treat you. “ Joey said smiling. Husk and Joey stared at each other for a while. Husk wanted to make a move but his mind panicked that he didn’t want to just leave. He kept thinking about how he should just kiss Joey but he hasn’t had to worry about these things for years. Husk was snapped out of his thoughts when he felt Joey’s lips on his. Husk kissed back as Joey smiled. “ Goodnight Husk. “ Joey closed the door.

Husk stood there touching his lips and couldn’t believe what happened. But he was glad that it happened. Husk looked at Joey’s door and chuckled. He couldn’t wait for the next time him and Joey get to hangout because he would make sure to be more confident because knew that he loved Joey.

hi everyone! It's the 2nd anniversary of my comic today! i started on I Love You Lin Peckett a whole two years ago!!! isn't that crazy!! anyways i wanted to celebrate with some type of art contest this is my first time doing something like this.

so basically all you guys gotta do is draw lin with a cake with a big 2 on it! you can draw her eating it or lighting the candles and since my comic is centered around fashion you can dress her in anything you like! no matter how silly or goofy or even shall i say...seductive??

here are the rules! do not change anything about my oc that would be insensitive like changing her race or skintone pls, if u wanna change her makeup or earrings go ahead tho! there is only 1 entry PER PERSON!

now heres the FUN PART the prizes! 1st place gets a full colored (or b&w) comic page from me thats up to 10 panels (this can be of ANYTHING you want!) 2nd place gets a 3 panel B&W comic strip of anything you'd like 3rd place you get a little flat colored icon! preferably chest up of your character.

another year another silan portrait babey.... a few days late this time but we still ballin'

i've been very into manga cover design lately (studying them, making my own, etc) so it only felt right to incorporate that into this year's portrait, right? and go way overboard designing the entire front, back and spine including a blurb and barcodes and retail/publishing info, right?? and then go all in on making a matching japanese version with its own alternative blurb and barcode area bc u can't have one without the other, right?? obviously!!!!

like i said i've been really into manga design-

funnily enough this ended up being an actual portrait again after i did away with them in favor of illustrations in recent years, but ig it's fitting since this is the 10th one, right? (more on that later i wrote this out of order-) a callback to the first one all those years ago... the other reason it's a portrait is bc art has been fighting back lately and a full illustration probably would have been a lot; most importantly tho i just thought this composition would make for a cool dramatic manga cover heh heh

anyway bro the impossible happened i fully rendered flowers AND completed the portrait this year hello??? this has never happened since the v first year wait i just checked it happened in 2019 too this has not happened since 2019 wowie!!!! i put my whole ass into those flowers pls observe them (except the tall purple ones don't look too closely at those. look at the pansies they're my fave ♥️)

this year we have morning glories taking center stage, surrounded by pansies, forget-me-nots, some kind of nondescript purple perennial or perhaps lavender, and some kind of pink blossom (idk that one was just a space filler). don't ask abt the random petals on his mouth & collarbone uhh theres some kind of flowering tree growing just offscreen it's possible

anyway the morning glories are significant bc they represent sythra, silan's twin sister; in my mind her colors are blue & yellow and it seemed like such a good fit, so i'm officially adding it to the Flower Lore (there is no flower lore)

there is, however, Twin Lore; silan's eyes are brown and sythra's are blue, but when they're telepathically linked their left eyes exchange color (so silan's becomes blue & vice versa). the flowers here are meant to represent that, like sythra isn't here but at the same time silan carries her with him wherever he goes... smth like that

the plot described in the blurb is like, sort of what happens but i simplified things for the sake of a neat little fake manga blurb. nobody asked me to do this yet here we are. if i were being realistic abt it this would probs be like vol 2 BUT i made it the 10th volume bc this is?? the 10th silan portrait??? i did the first one in 2014?? hello??? time is fake (my hc is that it's a slice of life club manga about flower pressing for the first 9 volumes but it pivots hard in vol 10 bc the author got so sick of drawing flowers no i am not projecting-)

now regarding the japanese version: i tried my best*

*(if u or a loved one know japanese ur not allowed to make fun of me ok orz i used 姉妹 bc theres no way for silan & sythra to know who's the older twin & idk what u would do in that situation like do u just pick one & go w it or is there another hierarchy-neutral word for sister, 姉妹 is the best i can do w my limited knowledge and even then it probably just sounds like silan is having twin girls which like good for him but even so if i sound like a dork keep it to urself ok but actually do tell me if u know bc i would like to Learn ik this is probably the least of my worries when it comes to that entire paragraph but rn we are just going to focus on the issues i know about and pretend that everything else is fine as is ok thank u for ur time & have a lovely day ur a star ⭐️)

misc fun facts aka u learn how unhinged i was abt this:

the title is May 16th bc that's just what silan's story has always been called. luckily i have that up my sleeve or i'd have had to come up w smth out of my ass like The Silan Portrait or some shit

the author and publishing company are both called astralibrary yes that's me (it has a nice ring to it as a manga publisher name don't u think). i made up the logo on the spot it's my best work. especially the one in the bottom right of the japanese bar code area where i just typed the name and put a star next to it bc that makes it look professional somehow

i stole borrowed the barcodes from existing manga i have good pics of (bc i have an entire folder in my gallery dedicated to manga covers & jpn typography, unrelated); the english one is hanako-kun vol 4, and the japanese one is after the rain vol 10. i changed all the numerical codes tho (variations on the date 5/16 repeating)

i made up the english prices but i picked ¥640 specifically bc that's the price of the natsuyuu volumes i have in my manga covers folder, my only possible point of reference,

rated teen even tho in my mind it'd be targeted more towards young adults; it doesn't have anything in it that would warrant a mature rating but it does feel strange to categorize it in this way even knowing these ratings don't necessarily dictate the target audience

i thought about messing around w the design of the japanese version more to reflect some of the design sensibilities i've observed in japanese manga, like different placement of the text on the cover or a different spine entirely (since they tend to differ a lot between jpn and eng versions)- i even thought about trying to design an obi (long strip of paper that wraps all the way around the bottom portion of the book, usually has announcements & promotional stuff on it), but that is a whole ass project for another day i think this'll do just fine for now skdjlfkdg

Hiii your character designs look so cool and detailed omg. I was wondering what age all the characters are and how the apocalypse all started?

Also can I draw them? I’m having terrible art block and your designs are sooo creative and would be fun to draw!!!

they are in middle school when it all starts, so they're like 12-13, while I did wanna make them older, I didn't think highschool would fit the KIDS, so I made them around middle school age

gives them more advantages too, making them faster, smaller, and overall more capable of doing things, plus with how they are they ofc would have more advantages with strength

while i wouldve kept them at like 9-10, i just feel like even for them (and how the zombies are in this au, which ill make a post about later) they wouldn't be able to survive long as little kids

the apocalypse started by cartman thinking it would be funny to spill a mixture of chemicals on a kid during science class, the chemicals mess with the kid's head, they attack others in the classroom, and they miss school for a few days (which cartman brags about). the apocalypse doesn't start right then and there, but murders being reported that look like the same person/thing. the chemicals ill get into later with the zombie stuff, but it takes a while for there to really be an outbreak, the people who were sick turning at the same time on the same day, attacking others in the town.

AMKSMDJSNJD WHAT A SURPRISE TO WAKE UP TO!!!! Oh my goodness, they are the most precious beans!!!! Op I am shaking and wailing and lovingly cradling your art this needs to be framed in a museum!!! 💖 they've been through so much angst but that brief moment they get to be kids and just have fun trying to dance and they're so awkward and silly PLS 🥺 Tenko's little giggle because I guess the music and atmosphere got to him and he couldn't help but do a little tappy tap and Keigo's all :0 heck the whole art has an element of surprise like they aren't expecting their reactions and are shy and awkward about it, the spinning around dance is so very much "testing the waters for the first time + super curious about actually being able to dance" the one on the bottom sob their smiles are so precious, protect themmm (or don't because the comfort after the hurt is delicious) that's the first time since the incident Tenko's been able to laugh so purely and openly, the way Keigo is hiding his face with a plushie, this is new for you too huh?

the trope of "It's you and me against the world and we'll always be together" as you hold onto your friend's hand, never letting go and race into the light of the morning sun, THE DESPERATE MID-AIR FLY CATCH HUG, aw yeah Keigo being as fast as he is makes for prime "I need to get to Tenko right away" angst, and "I haven't seen you in so long, are you really real?" also wings!!! you draw them so huge and fluffy, imagine the protective hugs. And the orphanage escape! Lmao, whenever I read a plot like that I think to myself "I should've written this fic four years ago before Hori gave that entire plot line to Dabi, people are gonna think I copied-" 😔 whatever it's fun!! access to much plot relevant locations and info and secrets!! Lol and also rip at Kai just dragging Oboro like that. Is he half-sentient Nomu already or a corpse mid-revival? We shall see. More desperate flying, love Keigo holding Tenko and something about most of Tenko's face hidden by his hair so all you can see is that one intense eye looking dead ahead is creating SOME kind of energy I wanna make a joke about but I've got no words 😭 Maybe it's his Transcendent Princely Villain Energy poking through, maybe it's the youngest sibling energy, if Prince Tenko wants to be carried he will, also the way he's clutching onto Keigo, the TRUST even with his quirk, he will get them out safely and swiftly. Maybe it's the lingering trauma from AFO encounters, gosh whatever, between this and that and all your art, I am asking for hand in marriage for your spectacular ability to display emotions and expressions with such intricacies!!! Op lock your doors, I am kidnapping the blorbos from your drawing table because they're just too darn cute 🥰

I've been reading this over and over today and smiling like a goon while trying to figure out how to respond because MAN this was so nice of you!

I'm so happy that you noticed all the small details and nuances I try to convey with my drawings (especially the dance one it's like you were there when I made it lol) Expressions are some of my favorite things to draw so I'm happy the intended readings came across so well! I had so much fun with Tomura's face in the rescue scene as well, he's so intense!

Them relying on each other because they are literally ALL they have and they would do ANYTHING for that person is just a trope I like way too much lol ngl. The unquestioning trust that can both build somebody up while knocking them down at any moment is just--
