Dipped a toe and snooped in the pro IC and Co. tag just for shits and giggles and it's crazy how so many can't seem to comprehend general criticism of the acotar books and will call people or stans of other characters abusive and idiots and whatever else for simply being a stan of (name character) but do not see the total hypocrisy in their own faves. The abusive nature of their faves. The favoritism towards their faves. The manipulation both from and of their faves.

Many resfuse to see how all over the place SJM writing generally is and I find it hilarious how when it's stated that SJM retcon blatantly to fit the 1st person narrative of the book it's bullshit people and antis are hating for no reason, but as soon as it comes to ACOSF it's lies pandering to pro Nesta despite the story being written in 3rd person from both Nesta and Cassian's POV. I'm sorry, your fave Rhysand has always been a dick. They'd take everything in first books as gospel, but the moment it's Nesta's or even Bryce’s, it's not true? It's biased. It doesn't count.

I don't like ACOSF. The story wasn't about healing, but beating a character down into submission and as a Nesta stan, I still critique it because...I can and I will. Cassian can go fall down those stairs and give the usefulness of his wings to Emerie.

If they want to read the books blindly, go ahead, but don't get mad when others actually internalise and think about the messages being spoken. Everyone digest media differently, and that's OK. I personally like reading about ambiguous and indepth characters. Not a fan of being told how to feel and what to think. The ability to ready between the lines and pick up things that aren't in big neon writing is preferable. SJM has the capability, generally, which from what I've seen, is why TOG is far better recieved, even with the criticism.

They say if we hate Rhysand or Feyre so much, why keep reading? Well, at this fucking point, we're all too deep in this shit show to stop. Call it morbid curiosity. These books have made me a masochist.

If you're an anti blog, keep doing your thing. If you're a pro blog, same thing. Who cares? We find our communities and have fun talking shit. But the unnecessary harsh name calling over something supposedly "not that deep" is wild.

The fact that there are people who TRULY believe that Feysand AREN'T going to become High King and Queen in the end is WILD to me.

SJM is making Rhys claim that he doesn't wish to be king BECAUSE she is going to make him king, and because he doesn't 'wish it', other characters are going to see Feysand as noble and kind and good because they 'sacrificed their happiness for the good of Prythian', which is the biggest lie EVER, but there is just no way that she's going to let any other pair become THAT MUCH MORE POWERFUL THAN FEYSAND.

Even though other characters would fit the High King and Queen much more than Feysand - Lucien would make a GREAT High king, and for some reason I always saw him, a Fae, being a High King and Vassa, a human, becoming his High Queen and uniting the faeces and humans through either their friendship or marriage (yes, I do ship Elucien, but it's too much of a 'happily ever after' ending if BOTH Elain and Lucien become High King and Queen, plus I feel like both Jassa and Elucien would be aware of their responsibilities andnot minding it cause they're besties).

It's just too bad that SJM is in love with Rhysand and is a shit writer.

Lucien, Elain, Jurian, & Vassa

I think people forget this line when it comes to shipping Lucien and Vassa together:

“I asked Lucien to escort me, and he’d been more than happy to do so, given that his own status as a mated male made him uninterested in any sort of female company these days.”

And Lucien also said this when talking with Ianthe:

“I’m a mated male now.”

Those happened in ACOWAR BTW.

Also, in ACOSF, Cassian notes this about Lucien when he gives Elain her Solstice gift from him:

Cassian’s heart strained at the pain etching deep into Lucien’s face as he tried to hide his disappointment and longing.

And that was after he said this to Nesta when she asked about Jurian and Vassa:

“At each other’s throats, as they like to be,” he said, a tad sharply. <---- and this 'being at each other's throats' is a typical thing Sarah does for couples who will more than likely end up together.

Those things happened after the halfway point in ACOSF, and we know Elain rejected Azriel's gift he gave her later that night after their encounter which signals an ending between anything that was previously brewing between them (not that there was much anyways since Azriel himself said it was all lingering stares and brief fingertip touched and he'd been keeping away deliberately).

We also know Elain has appeared to keep the gifts Lucien has gotten her. One gift that was a pair of enchanted gloves that was a well thought out and suitable gift for his mate who loves to garden. Which means she's still open to him, despite appearing uncomfortable around him because that can always change and she can grow new feelings for Lucien.

So it's safe to assume that it will be Jurian and Vassa, not Lucien and Vassa, and Elain and Lucien endgame pairings given the evidence from ACOWAR and ACOSF.

We know what Jurian did to Amarantha sister.

He even disgusted the fae with the torture of her.

Imagine his revenge on the queens that cursed Vassa. Hrs going to be flaying, taking off body parts etc.

Through her visions. Both went into the cauldron.

Elain infiltrates autumn court. Kills Beron for Lucien, Eris and loa.

She made the king of Hybern fall to his knees. She's going to do the same to Beron.

I believe elain can see someone's true soul.

She's going to betray the night court to defeat Beron and Koschei.

I believe she will be apart of autumn and day courts. Maybe even spring.

Cause I truly believe Tamlin will help her with Beron and Koschei.

Vassien is such a funny ship to me because vassa and jurian are literally said to be “at each others throats” (they wanna fuck if you couldn’t tell) and their stories literally align with both of them ruling the humans together one day but yes vassa and lucien are the obvious endgame 👌.

No but seriously.....

I had a similar post the other day but seeing her insult the BOE a second time really makes me think it's something worth paying attention to.

Any time Feyre insults a character, it's almost like SJM is letting us know, "just wait, you're going to be surprised by this!" Just like her thinking Cassian and Az could wipe the floor with Lucien only to have Lucien later sitting on a couch, immaculately dressed, commanding Cassian with a single word.

I really think this "Band of Exiles", the ones Feyre made fun of, along with her "pleasant companion" Elain who is good at planning parties and hosting balls are the ones to accomplish what the IC hasn't been able to by getting the peace treaty signed.....

..... through their leadership, hosting and courtier skills.......

The four of them together are a bit of a dream team when it comes having others listen to them and I imagine they'll be able to accomplish it with minimal violence.

Lucien and Vassa: a firebird retelling.

So often I see Vassien shippers argue (most recently in a @acourtofthought anon) that the last book of the series will be a retelling of The Firebird, a Russian folktale which inspired many versions of the story, including the most well-known Swan Lake, with Lucien and Vassa as the MCs.

And to justify this, they point to the fact that Vassa is literally a Firebird and that Lucien is a spellcleaver who can break her curse and save her from Koschei. Well, as always, I’m not too arrogant to admit that yes, this is always a possibility. No one knows what SJM has planned, but to those who are using The Firebird folktale as your evidence, you’re actually making a claim for Elucien that much stronger.

See, in most versions of this story, Prince Ivan (our Lucien) does not even end up with the Firebird. He falls in love with and marries one of the women/females/princesses who are also claimed by Koschei. Prince Ivan and the Firebird build a deep friendship and loyalty to each other through their shared struggles. That sounds very much like Lucien and Vassa, does it not?

Yes, there are so many versions of this tale, and SJM could really use it as inspiration rather than a retelling as such, but to argue that Lucien and Vassa are endgame because of the Firebird folklore is somewhat misguided, and is practically confirming the countless theories that Eluciens and many other ACOTAR fans have already predicted: Lucien AND Elain will play a role in the demise of Koschei TOGETHER.
