WWX truly and genuinely does mean it when he says he wants to support JC #And that JC hopes for that too! Tragedies hit the hardest when you can feel the lost futures characters would have together #And I feel it here in this scene so painfully. There's complicated feelings between them but it wasn't what broke them apart. #The rumours and the twisted family dynamics that tried to pit them against each other likely wouldnt have worked. #It set the stage for JC to have an inferiority complex which then grows into his responsibility complex. #WWX even calls it out! That JC has to be the responsible one in the dynamic. #And it sucks to be in that unequal position with a sibling or a not-sibling. #You don't get the love *or* acknowledgement but you do get the pressure to be the 'better one' in the face of the other's misbehaviour. #But I digress. There was a world where they did became the twin heroes of yunmeng jiang and stayed together. #And we'll never see it. That world is gone now. And just like Lotus pier -even if they tried to rebuild it - they will never be the same.

Hornet x Quirrel stuff

• Quirrel telling Hornet stories about the lands outside Hallownest and teaching her more about the world outside. And Hornet telling Quirrel stories of Hallownest and helping him to remember his old home.

• The two of them practice sparing with each other And of course Quirrel teases Hornet about the first time they met.

• Hornet easily relaxing around Quirrel but being upset about it later, after she's realized.

• Quirrel writing about her and sketching pictures of her. (He just finds her so intriguing!)

• Hornet loves dancing, she learned how to dance in the hive and she feels so relaxed and free when she does it. Quirrel would absolutely enjoy dancing with her, and learning from her. And he's a quick learner!

• Quirrel and Hornet doing tasks together and Quirrel gets so easily distracted. Hornet keeps him focused and he helps her to slow down and enjoy the simple pleasures of life.

• Both of them love water, and swim very well. They spend lots of time at the blue lake, or dancing in the rain in the city.

• Hornet making Quirrel silk bandanas, he loves to wear.

• The two of them visiting the dreamers memorial in the resting grounds. Placing flowers by their stone.

• Herrah and Monomon watching over them, absolutely adoring how close the two have become.

started a playthrough as locket's partner from 100 years ago, before eilistraee's fall, and made locket her dream guardian 🥺

bonus pic of locket's first love rothgar, who i made her dream guardian in my most recent save... she met him at the promenade of the dark maiden. he turned to eilistraee + became a paladin after his wife and son were murdered by lolthsworn drow. he died on a mission and it broke locket's heart :(

(side note that most of the eilistraee worshippers at the promenade were drow, but unsurprisingly, locket was drawn to outsiders, so her lovers wound up being a dwarf and a half-orc.)

I’ve been reading some theories on the status of Grulovia twenty years after the deluge, and speculation seems to range from “it no longer exists” to “it got invaded again” but sometimes I think about the idea of the Grulovia that lived. The Grulovia that survived. The Grulovia that clung on by the skin of its teeth, took every bit of stolen wealth that the Maliks couldn’t take with them, and used it to rebuild. The Grulovia that beat the odds.

I can only imagine what kind of country it would be like. A country of those who stayed behind, of those who wouldn’t - or couldn’t - leave for greener pastures. A country equal parts traumatized, hopeful, and vindicitve. A country with a fear and distrust of psychics that is both deeply unfair and deeply understandable. A country trying to reinvent itself even as it’s still digging itself out of the ice, half trapped in the past and half desperately running from it.

This is all just speculation on my part, of course, but I personally think that, in a hypothetical “Return to Grulovia” storyline, a place like that makes for a much more interesting setting than an uninhabited frozen wasteland. It becomes a lot harder to confront the ghosts of your mistakes when it turns out those ghosts never actually died.
