the most affective thing I've ever watched on climate change was comedian Jordan Klepper's episode on the L'eau Est La Vie water protectors in Louisiana. Not because it was well put together or terribly comprehensive (there's a documentary that does it better) but because it was the first time I'd seen a public figure follow in activists' footsteps---and be scared so absolutely shitless, he can't quite hide it from the cameras.
these days, Klepper goes to the big political rallies and smirks and jokes, and though that can be fun to watch---it just isn't the same.

This is a calligraphic filigree rose window mandala design for an upcoming book I'm working on. The single circle form is primary here, as in ancient cosmology this symbolized the One, the unknowable Divine source of all being, as well as becoming the form for the emergent Cosmos as in Plato's "Timaeus". The concentric rings of filigree hearken to this, adapting medieval illumination motifs for the planetary spheres, in this case centrally oriented to the Sun, which symbolizes the undying light of the Divine. This rose window begins the Gospel omnigraph, and for this I selected the famous verses from St. John's prologue, which tie together the eternal origin of all things with the Logos and the embodied entrance of that Logos into human history as the man Jesus Christ.

Less an ask than a compliment, but how did you write a draft of His Secret Illuminations in less than a year?! There's so much, and every bit is SO DAMN GOOD!
I just finished it, and will be reading His Sacred Incantations ASAP, but I just have to say thank you for creating this story and these characters. I started the book with my partner reading it to me years ago, and it was a huge door opener for my personal gender journey, as well as understanding a lot about my sexual identity.
Thank you for giving the world such a wonderful story full of so many strong queer women, a well-represented nonbinary character who openly uses they pronouns (my people), and having them all take care of the best and kindest subby boy with an unbridled strength and praise kink. This story is everything! 💜
If you know where to find more like it, whether crafted by you or others, please share.
I was possessed by the ghost of the story and frankly it would have been harder NOT to write it! There were days where I got to scenes I'd been extensively workshopping in my head and I would pour 10k+ words onto the page in a fugue state of furious typing. It was genuinely a force of nature, and almost impossible for me to re-create now, alas. (I'm still writing and a pretty fast writer, but I don't have that 10k a day energy driving me anymore.)
I'm so glad that my book could help you at a time you needed it, and boy howdy do I have good news about what you'll find in the second book: Even more of the first, but kinkier and queerer.
I made a post with a few recommendations over here!

HIS SECRET ILLUMINATIONS
A Sheltered Monk
By day, Lucían brews potions and illuminates manuscripts in service to the monastery that took him in as a child, wielding magic based in his faith and his purity. By night, he dreams of the world outside the cloister--a world he knows only in books and scrolls...
A Mysterious Warrior
A mercenary known as the She-Wolf hunts for a shipment of stolen manuscripts. When she needs a mage to track them down, she chooses Lucían for both his adorable blushes and his magic. She purchases his contract, hurling him headfirst into an adventure that will test both his skills and his self-control...
A Sacred Vow
Inexorably drawn to the She-Wolf's strength, surprising kindness, and heated touches, Lucían fights temptation at every turn. His holy magic is both vital to their mission and dependent upon his purity. How can he serve both her and the Lord if he gives in to his desire? As intrigue and danger forces them closer, how can he possibly resist?
HIS SACRED INCANTATIONS
An Illicit Desire
Lucían left behind his cloister, his vows, and his self-denial when he joined Glory, first for a quest and then in her bed. He tells himself he should be happy, but when he looks at her strong arms, her sharp smile, and her smooth dominance, he wants—something he cannot yet name...
A Deadly Foe
A fatal threat lurks in the mountains above Granite Falls, attacking travelers with fangs and claws and a horrible curse. Lucían and Glory seek the cause, and he can't help wondering why it all seems so familiar, and why his dreams are full of cold stone and an evil presence...
A Perilous Mission
As their investigation proceeds, Lucían finds himself once more embroiled in an adventure he wasn't expecting, one full of dark magic and ghosts from his past. Haunted by what he can't change, Lucían makes a solemn vow: He'll end this, once and for all, or die trying...
