Im still thinking about how fucked up Willow getting canceled is.

Not just because a sapphic show got canceled. Like. That is very important. And upsetting. Tanthamore is EVERYTHING. And Kit being the first lesbian disney princess is everything.

But also like

Its a fantasy show that showcase little people going on adventures! Featuring actual little people! (No shade to LotR but yeah.)

Willow was made to show little people can go on fantastical fun adventures like anyone else.

And while s1 didnt focus on that as much as I would have liked. It was obviously setting up s2 to focus more on Willow's growth. And his daughter Mims to have her own adventure as well.

Also!

Its main 3 romances are all interracial! Like, that so important. Cause we still rarely see mixed couples in media. And the fact that all 3 are is so so special

And the main prince is Guatemalan! His character. A sad prince wrestling with the darkness inside of him. Thats usually given to white guys. And it was given to Tony! Like. Thats so special!

And the Han Solo character type is Indian!

And the story focuses on women! Its a female driven story! All of the most powerful characters are women! Thats so so cool

And it was all taken from us. Before it could even finish.

Like. How expensive could 2 more season even be?? Thats not asking much!

Why would Disney show that they dont care about these stories? Especially when they were trending and doing really well! And the fandom was growing everyday!

God Im so upset

can we talk about how much queer and trans joy was this season? maggie and nina. they/them muriel, saraquel, beelzebub, even GOD. "you're a good lad" "im not actually, either". that one shopkeeper and his non binary spouse, played by a non binary actor. beelzebub and gabriel. shax, nina and maggie all thinking azi and crowley were together. also yes i'm gonna mention: crowley and aziraphale's kiss. it's just, i get that everyone's hurt and so am i but can we please focus on how beautiful this season was to us? we got so much and i'm so happy, despite the ending.

Process below (and a quick recap of all the other people in the room (+ rambling because it's my favorite thing to do gkgkflflk)) vvv

Do I think Maul would have a friend group ? No. But it's time to open our hearts and and free ourselves from the shackles of common sense.

Anyway starting from the left, the togruta woman was a design I created nearly... 3 years ago ?? In my first fanart for the fic serie "how to..." (I think I named her Narla).

In the bg is my sw barbie ! In hommage to someone who said on my last maul drawing "I think Maul deserves barbie as a friend" (something along those lines-) and I think they are right so here she is !

And the last person is... The death stick guy from the second film gkgkfkoffk I could not resist not including him idkw. He seems to enjoy going to the club ? That's enough for me ! (Don't think of the timeline, for the love of god nobody think of the timeline-)

When I was doing sketches for this, I thought about one crutial detail I could not comprehensively include in the final image, so here it is : Maul and my togruta lady chose each other's outfits. He picked something he thought looked cool, she picked pink.

PS : the longer I was working on this piece the more Darth Maul was looking like a mean lesbian lhlgkgofok anyway if you want to interpret this image as trans mean lesbian Maul I won't stop you <3 (join me and my evil advisor in this delightful vision)

PSS : my only exposure to maul was though sw1, and half of the book 'maul lockdown' (that I remember nothing about-). I barely know this man, he is just the weird guy from sw I like to draw. (I obviously know other things about him, but only through fandom(tumblr))

I still have hope that this show will get renewed (by some miracle).

The moment Netflix knew this was gonna be a sapphic series, they’ve already decided it’s fate. Well, screw fate and fuck Netflix. I’m gonna keep on fighting for it. I’m gonna keep on rewatching and making sure that Netflix knows how much they screwed up.
