Just found out Duolingo has Scottish Gaelic on it and so begins my first lesson. I cant wait till I am fluent in it and can sing it what a stunning language to learn.

i just wanted to post this song because it is actually beautiful

so Julie Fowlis is a scottish singer, and most of her songs are in Scottish Gaelic (including this one). Her primary genre is Scottish-folk - and i’m down for any type of folk. I have absolutely no clue what this song is about, but it just conjures images in my mind of, like misty mountains and rivers and shit. idk.

also i am 1/4 Irish, and grew up with Irish folk music, as well as English folk.

i found her because she sings the song “touch the sky” from Disney’s Brave. - one of my favourite Disney songs.

So I'm planning on trying something new, starting with the post I'm about to put up. It will be Gaelic Word of the Post I am proud to be Scottish, and love the fact that more and more people are trying to learn and reintroduce Scottish Gaelic. I am also (slowly) trying to learn some myself. As such, whenever possible I am planning to include the Gaelic names for places and landmarks as well.
