Passionate Morning
Husband! Sesshomaru x Wife! Reader
Rated: M
The sun has just begun to rise over the mountains on the horizon. The clouds were a beautiful painting of orange, pink, and purple. You were in a delightful daze, just staring at the beautiful sight that you were greeted with every morning. You shifted slightly and you sighed in contentment. You never would've imagined having a demon lover as beautiful as he was, let alone a crowned prince turned king.
Just as you thought about him, he moved just barely behind you, making you look over your shoulder at him. Honestly, you were shocked that he was even in the bed, he'd usually be moving around the castle, or he'd be wandering across the lands on the quest for power. You stared at him for a moment over your shoulder. He was laying on his back, his Mokomoko laying under his head. Not a hair was out of place, he looked like a true sleeping prince. He wore a simple, yet elegant resting kimono.
You could've stared at him all day, but you were basking in the aftermath of waking up from a good night's sleep, so you laid back down, and you got comfortable, shifting yourself until you were laying on your side, and you sighed once more as you closed your eyes, the edges of sleep creeping in to take you back under. But the feeling of a large, powerful hand could be felt gently ghosting over your curves. It started at your hip, and it trailed up your waist, ever so slowly. You gently chuckled at the feeling. You felt him shift closer to you, the bed dipping in under you as he sat up on his elbow and leaned over you.
He trailed his nose up the side over your neck, and you raised your head up, allowing him to do as he pleased. "Good morning, my love. I assume you sleep well?" He asked, his deep voice made your insides tingle and you slightly shivered. You hummed at his words before you answered. "Yes, I did. I'm surprised you're here this morning." You said as you continued to lay on your side. He hummed in acknowledgment at your words. "This Sesshomaru, decided to stay the night with you. For I fear that I haven't been doing that enough with you." He admitted as he placed a gentle kiss on your neck.
You smiled sweetly at his words. "Thank you." You said sincerely. The fact that he decided to stay with you because he felt that way, made your heart flutter. He lightly growled in response as he began laying gentle kisses along your neck, his hand running up and down your waist. The tips of his nails brushed the underside of your breast gently, but the slight prickly feeling of them made you moan. His gentle kisses on your neck trailed up to your jaw and you turned your head towards him in response. You both stared at each other. Yours clashing with his honey golden ones. They were always so pretty in the glow of the sunrise.
"You're ever so beautiful, for This Sesshomaru is a lucky demon." He said, his eyes tracing your face. You smiled softly at his words, he always made you fall back in love with him all over again. You shifted onto your back, and you gently caressed his face. Not a blemish in sight on his ageless face. It almost made you sad to know that you only had about 70-80 years with this man. But if you could come back, then you'd always love him in every lifetime. The hand that was on your waist grabbed your hand that was on his cheek, and he closed his eyes and he turned his head to gently kiss your hand.
Your heart never ceased to never not flutter by his small yet meaningful actions. He held your hand a little longer, before he let it go and he adjusted himself to lean over you. His hair gently slid off his shoulders, making a curtain of beautiful silky white locks. He stared down at you for a moment before he leaned down and he claimed your lips. You moaned gently into the kiss, it nearly took your breath away every time he kissed you. Your hands slowly wrapped around his neck, pulling him down closer to you.
Your lips molded together perfectly, your tongues twirled and curled around each other's, the tips of his fangs presses slightly into your lips, it always seemed to remind you that you were waltzing at death's door, but his tender stares and touches always made you crave for that danger. One of his hands moved down without your knowledge, but the large palming of his hand on your breast made you moan slightly louder and you pressed up into his palm. His mouth detached from yours, and a string of saliva connected you together for a moment before it broke.
He gazed down at you, watching as you slightly huffed from the lack of oxygen, your lips plush and full from the kiss, your eyes hazy with lust and want as you stared up at him. His inner beast growled in success at the sight of you. He looked down at where your resting kimono crossed over your chest. Through your sleep, the fabric separated itself, and he could see the valley between your breasts. His hand moved from your breast and up to the fold. He gently parted it with his claws, before he slipped his hand into your clothes.
With a firm pull, he revealed your soft body to his piercing gaze. You looked away from him in embarrassment, and you took your arms from around his neck, but you didn't cover yourself from him, as he didn't like it when you did that. Instead, you lay your arms down next to your head. He looked up at you, his eyes reading your very being down to your soul. "Don't shy away from me. For This Sesshomaru, wishes to see you in your glory." He said. Your cheeks warmed at his words before you timidly looked over at him. You've both laid in bed together for a few years now, but you always wanted to hide from him, your silent insecurities always making you second-guess your beauty. But he always reassured you, that you were just simply too beautiful for even him to put into words.
His gaze softened when you looked up at him. He kept his gaze locked with yours as he leaned down to your breast. "Keep your eyes on me, for This Sesshomaru is possessive of your beautiful gaze." He said, before he latched onto one of your nipples. You jumped at the stimulating feeling of his warm mouth enveloping your nipple. The tips of his fangs scrapped over your nipple and his tongue lapped at it, the attention made you whine and moan as your breathing picked up. Your gaze was squinted but you kept your eyes on him as your head turned to the side. One of your hands slipped up his shoulder while the other slipped into his hair. He stayed on that breast for a moment longer before he dragged his lips to your other breast.
The attention he gave you every time you both had sex, was always so intoxicating. He'd treat you like the finest piece of China, making you lose all your modesty, turning you into a crude woman. Your moans bounced off the white walls of your bedroom, his low growls making your chest tremble with excitement. When he finally pulled back, you were a painting mess, your kimono practically open, the only thing keeping it together was the thin tie around your waist, hiding your most precious part from him. He stared down at your moist chest, his saliva coated you, mixing his scent with yours, as it should be.
He looked down at the tie around your waist, and he nearly growled in irritation as he realize that your precious body was hidden from him. "Lord Sesshomaru.." Came your voice. He looked up at you, waiting for you to continue. "Please, My Lord. Please take me, pull me under your spell and never let me go." You pleaded. He stared at you for a moment before he traced your cheek gently. "You never need to beg me, for I shall always come to your becking call." He said. Your dazed eyes softened at him and you held his hand to your cheek as you nuzzled into his palm. His stare softened and he lightly growled. You smiled, it was so light, till it almost sounded like he was purring. He pulled his hand from your face, as he sat up straight. Your arms pulled from him as you rested them on either side of your head.
He looked down at the tie and he moved to loosen it. With a few tugs, the tie loosened and he pulled it from your body, dropping it on the ground. His hands laid on your waist and he rubbed his hands up and down gently. You hummed at the light massage. His firm yet gentle hold was comforting. He picked at the fabric and he pulled your clothes open, revealing you completely to him. Your legs pressed together, as you hid from him and he frowned. "What have I told you." He said, his voice slightly crossed as he grabbed each thigh in his hand.
You tensed up and you presses your thighs closer together. "Don't hide from me. Your everything belongs to This Sesshomaru." He said in a possessive tone as he pulled your legs apart effortlessly. You yelped in slight surprise as he pulled your legs wide apart, revealing your moistness to him. You whined in embarrassment but the heat pulsed through you as you watched his hungry gaze linger on you. You watched as he licked his lips like a beast who was about to feast.
Your core clenched and his eyes sharpened at the sight of it. His hands moved down your thighs and under your hips. You yelped when he pulled you down towards him, your back practically laying on his lap, as your hips were angled up to his mouth. He leaned down close to your core, and took in a deep breath and he exhaled with a deep shaking sigh. You whined from the embarrassment as you covered your face.
"Don't smell me there, I haven't bathed yet." You whined out. "This Sesshomaru prefers this scent, it's your most natural state." He growled out. You whined in response, but you moaned out loud when his tongue flattened out over your core and he licked up to your clit. Your core clenched and unclenched as he continued his long strokes. Your hands gripped the fabric of his pants and the sheets as your hips jutted up in humps against his mouth. He kept a firm grip on your hips as his tongue dug deep into your core and his nose brushed over your clit.
You felt the pressure building, and you knew what was coming. Your moaning grew in pitch and your hips began to roll more frantically. The clenching of your core around his tongue made his cock twitch as he gave a low hum. He pulled his tongue out and he latched onto your clit, he sucked and flicked his tongue over it. Your body tensed up and your eyes widen as your vision faded to white and your moan poured out uncontrollably as you thrust in time with your climax. His eyes rolled some before he closed his eyes. Your orgasm lasted a little longer before you slacked against him.
Your breathing was heavy as you rested on his lap. You whined in sensitivity as he continued to lap at your clit, drunk off the overwhelming scent of your release. He pulled off with a pleased sigh as he sniffed the air. "This scent is intoxicating. I can't ever seem to get enough of it. " he said as he pulled back, he laid your hips back down. You were once more on the bed, your legs wide as they lay around his hips. He stared down at you for a moment before he pulled open his kimono. His strength could be seen in his lean and toned muscles that lay upon his perfect body. The magenta markings on his cheeks lay upon his waist and his forearms.
You could never get tired of seeing his beautiful body. No scarring, no marks, just a plain field of unmarked skin. He leaned back over you, his hands on either side of your head, his hair all fell to one side of his body, forming another thick curtain of silky white locks. He dropped down onto his elbows and he leaned down to press a kiss against your neck. You lifted your head up, giving him access and he growled in appreciation. He kissed your pulse before he licked heavily up the collum of your neck.
It was a ritual at this point, he always had to remark you after a few months once the scarring healed from his bite. It always hurts, but the aftermath was always forgiving. You felt his fangs rub against your skin and you relaxed, you learned that tensing up made the pain worsen. But you were pleasantly surprised when you felt the head of his cock rubbing against the opening of your core. You looked down in question, but he suddenly bit down while also trusting into you and your back arched and you painfully yet also pleasuringly gasped out. Your hands tangled into his hair as he thrust into you at an even yet rough pace, your hands tangled tighter into his hair and his fangs gently pulled out from your wound.
He licked the wound, pouring some of his salivae into it to heal it faster, while his thrusts slightly picked up speed. You moaned and gasped as you held onto him tightly. Your legs locked around his waist and he groaned at the position change. He slipped in deeper and he was able to hold you closer. Tears pricked in your eyes as you threw your head back into the mattress, the slapping of your hips connecting echoed out through the room. One of his hands slipped under your body, while the other stayed on its elbow, he presses your chest up into his chest. The thumping of your heart could be felt and he groaned at the feeling of it.
The thumbing of your heart, matched the clenching of your core around his cock. He always felt more connected to you when he had you like this. Writhing under his mercy, lost in your own world of pleasure, the pleasure that he was causing. He felt empowered, yet he also felt vulnerable, he felt like you knew what he was feeling. The way his breathing was slowly becoming erratic, the way his heart beats against your chest, the way his cock would twitch in time with your clenching. He felt open, yet it felt good. To be vulnerable around someone without having to worry about you using it against him.
He loved that, and he craved it. More than he could've ever thought that he would. 'Perhaps, this is why father loved Izayoi more than mother.' He thought as he angled his hips up more and you nearly yelled from the strong stroke of his cock against your g-spot. The small patch of meat deep inside of your core was grazed and your breathing picked up, your hips met his halfway as your end was coming closer. His grip on you tighten as his lips latched onto your neck, kissing everywhere he could reach. He gave a shakily groan at the feeling of your core tightening. His thrusts became faster and stronger. Your body bounced from the strength of his thrusts, your head bobbing as you loudly moaned.
"It's... It's coming." You warned him in a shaky voice. He groaned in acknowledgment at your words. "I... I can't hold it... Anymore." You whined as your core began to pulse. "Then let go, I won't let you get far." He responded. Your brows tightened and your mouth went slack as your orgasm hit you hard. Your moans sounded out with each pulse and he slightly slowed his thrusts, he didn't want to hurt you as you tightened up around him. He growled out lowly, as he helped you ride out your orgasm. Your body went slack as your grip on him loosens. Your breathing came out in heavy pants as you huffed. He looked down at you, his stare was wild with lust but the love was mixed in it.
He pulled out from your sensitive core and you whined from the feeling. His cock was still hard, as it glistened in your liquids. He grabbed your arms and firmly pulled you up before he flipped you by your waist onto your front. You immediately got into position. Up on your knees, hips angled up, legs spread. You were used to him needing to go longer, his stamina far surpassed your own, but you never complained. You loved serving him, it was one of the many ways you showed your love to him.
He gently held your waist with one of his hands while his other guided him into your moist caverns. He grunted as he pushed back in while you whined. He bottomed out and he sighed before he grip your hips in his hands and he began his thrusting once more. Your body rocked as you moaned weakly, your hips slightly trusted back, the feeling of another climax already building once more. He grunted at the tightening of your core. "Already so close to another one are we?" He light-heartedly taunted you. You whined in response. "Your body's sensitivity is always so fun to explore." He said as he traced his hand up and down your back, your sweat from your first orgasm made your skin dewy yet beautiful.
"The paleness of my skin against yours is simply divine." He breathed out as he admired your skin tones clashing against one another. You listened to his words, but you couldn't respond as the feeling of his cock seeming to swell within you made your eyes roll back. He grunted and his gaze narrowed. His knot was inflating and he was catching onto your core, he was getting close to his own end. The fuzzy feeling of his orgasm climbing up his cock and through his body made him shiver in anticipation. He usually lasted longer than this, but it's been a while, so he's a little pent-up. He grabbed your hips, and he picked up his speed, chasing his orgasm with hard yet quick thrusts. Your ass jiggled from his powerful thrusts, the softness always reminding him how fragile you were.
Your hand came up next to your head and you gripped the sheets in your fist as you felt another, stronger orgasm coming. You tried to warn him, but you couldn't form words. But the shaking of your hips and the clenching of your core was enough of a warning. He gave a rather loud groan as he released your hip, he leaned over your body, his hands pressing into the mattress as he slammed his hips into you from behind. He clenched his eyes tight as he felt his end coming, but he refused to finish before you did.
But he didn't have to wait long before your shaky moans grew loud and your vision faded out as a powerful orgasm tore through you. You clenched tightly around his cock and his hips studdered as his thrust became sloppy. His knot swelled up and he pressed himself against your back. He grunted with each squirt of cum that went into your waiting body. The clenching of your core was enough stimulation. Once your orgasm ended, your body began to slope down, but he quickly gripped your hips once more, the knot locking you both together. You both painted, yours heavier than his as you both basked in your afterglow.
He fell to his side, taking you with him, holding you close. His knot is going to stay that way for a while, so he might as well get comfortable. You laid upon his Mokomoko, the fluffy fur was always so soft and warm. You felt it wrap around both of your bodies, its fluffiness acting as a blanket as it covered your nakedness. You slowly opened your eyes and you stared out the window. The once orange, pink, and purple sunrise was now a yellow, white, and blue sky. You stared at it a little longer, before you closed your eyes again, and you fell back to sleep. Finally getting that extra morning nap.

VIII Eternal Flame VIII
Tumblr media
The final moon before the feast dawns on the young demigod, and with it, it's threatening consequences.
Parts: ❧ I II III IV V VI VII ❧
Warnings: Fem Afab reader, she/her pronouns. Angst, mentions of death, violence, slight nsfw (if you squint).
Even as a child, I remembered how the fire dancers in the east would tell stories of the old. Their fires in hues I had never seen before. Deep crimsons and pale yellows with greens that rivalled rain forests. That was the first time I realised that every flame was different.
The dancers moved and their long braids swished around them, their movements sharp and lithe, not missing a beat. Fire dancing was an old tradition, performed every year, one night before the feast of manana. It was called the ceremony of the Khar-moon, the incomplete moon.
It was less a form of entertainment and more of a ritual, a portrayal of faith towards the Goddess. They said that the performers practiced all year long just for those few minutes on stage. And it never failed to take my breath away, twirling on the stage, aglow with the torches behind them, the dancers looked like flames personified.
This year, I knew the story well. It was the same boring text my aunt had grated into my brain. She would even sit me down and make me recite it over and over, until the words clouded my thought the moment, I closed my eyes. So, it wasn’t surprising that I recognised it at once. They were telling the tale of ‘the hearth’. The beginning of all life. Or what we understood of it.
The dancer dressed as the hearth was in silver and orange, their eyes lidded, a beacon of peace and tranquillity. The music fanned, low and rhythmic as the singer began the first song.  Their clear voice rang out, rippling through the crowd.
My palms sunk into the grass as I leaned forward eagerly. My aunt swatted my ankle, “sit properly!" but the swelling music drowned out her voice.
They sang of how every fire was born from the Hearth. Each eventually taking different forms. Dancers dressed in gold twirled around the Hearth. The fire of the stove, I recognised. Gold bangles glittered around their wrists as they moved, calling fire that looked like molten gold, its flames docile and controlled.
The music shifted suddenly, becoming faster, louder just as a dancer in scarlet jumped high from between them, red flames curling around their wrists. The flame that lights the torch for war.
All the flames gathered around the hearth and bowed deeply. Paying respect to the one that birthed them. And that’s the end of the story, I thought.
“Can we leave, father? -” I started and my aunt hissed me into silence. I furrowed my brow; was there more?
It was then that another dancer jumped up front, my heart jumped at the sudden action. Their clothes were blue, flowing around them like water, replicating the shades that flickered within my flames.
It was a harsh contrast to the others dressed in shades saffron. A stranger, an anomaly.
I remembered feeling a pit in my stomach, the curiosity I had for the play suddenly dissipating like someone had put out a candle.
My flames were blue.
And I wasn’t told this part of the story.
It did not bow to the hearth, the dancer flicked their blue robes arrogantly, the fabric rising like the audacious plume of a peacock. I gulped nervously as my aunt finally pulled me back on the seat. I heard her mutter sharply but my father shushed her down,
"Leave her be Hathor." He grumbled.
I felt my breath shallow. As the head clan, I sat with my family at the very front. Placed closest to the stage, second only to the Gods. It was the highest honour, something to wear with pride, yet I wanted to crawl away. I couldn’t help but curl my fist around my father’s robes in anticipation. While every eye was on the performer, I was the one who felt the burn of their gaze.
The blue flame was different. I was told I was born with divinity. But there was nothing divine about this flame Without a shred of warmth, something born in hell, far away from the fire of a hearth.
The flames that dance on a pyre.
An immortal bound in death.
Even now, years later, as I stared at the Khar-moon high in the sky I couldn’t help but remember the performance, the fire dancers, and the pit in my stomach.
One night before the feast of manana.
I tore my eyes away from the moon, no point in brooding over that now. I looked over at Sesshomaru and he was already halfway down the hill. Prideful steps, not even bothering to look over his shoulder. So, it had taken him about 4 seconds before he went back to his mutt like ways.
I shook my head, gathering the hem of my kimono so I wouldn’t trip and land on his head. Rin and Jaken could be anywhere down the mountain. And it was about time I greeted them.
❧
“It’s a human village.” I realised, “We’re staying here?” I asked, genuinely surprised. Sesshomaru and his disgust towards humans was more than apparent, why in the world would he set camp in a human village?
His eyes looked back as I trotted up to him. In the darkness of the night, it was hard to tell, but there something haunting about this place. I pulled my eyes towards the village again. There was a morbid silence that coveted the landscape. The small bamboo knit cottages looked empty, abandoned. Like a painting standing still before us, there was nothing alive in this village.
“It’s been deserted…” I stated. A strange nervousness settled in me,
“Humans.” He said, his voice basically a pained sigh, “cowardly creatures.”
I started back at him in horror, what kind of a person thinks a deserted human village is a good resting spot? Even I knew that humans emptying out entire villages was bad news. And not just the ayakashi kind, the apocalyptic prophecy kind.
“It better not be plagued.” I tell him,
Sesshomaru just scoffed in response, “Try and keep up.” He replied, “I won’t come searching for you a second time.”
I gave him a sarcastic smile before starting to walk.
A singular fire burned in the still landscape, like a dying ember. Despite everything that had happened in this short period, I had always found myself back here. Maybe it was suiting that I spend my last night with them. The khar moon was already high in the sky, and I could feel the exhaustion of the travel weigh down on my shoulders. I dragged my feet down, trying to push unnecessary thoughts away. Spending your last night in a plagued town. I thought, how poetic.
❧
Jaken cried more than Rin. Which was surprising.
“W-what a r-relief.” Jaken sobbed out loudly, I looked over at the goblin grinning, “You did miss me how cute.”
Rin ran into an embrace, her wiry arms clutching onto my kimono like she was afraid to let go again. There wasn’t anything childlike in the way she cried, no angry tears, no broken sobs, just silent tears of relief. I stood frozen in my place, just…unsure. My arms felt like lead, and in that moment despite how glad I was to see the human child alive I couldn’t make myself show it.
Something tugged at my heart, but I pushed it aside at once.
Humans are delicate creatures. Death comes to them swiftly, whisking them away like they never existed. Befriend them and you live on with their ghosts.
I patted her head awkwardly, “Hey it’s okay.” I said. “I’m okay.”
The child pulled away reluctantly, she nodded wiping a runny nose with the back of her hand, “are you s-sure?” she sobbed out.
I stepped back so I could give her a turn, “All good, see?”
Rin gave me a skeptical look, “You don’t look very good.” She replied.
I threw back my head and laughed, my voice ringing out in the midnight sky. I looked down at the kimono I was wearing. It was one of Sango’s pink ones, and I had really put it through hell and back. “Do you have a spare?” I asked jokingly.
Rin peeked a smile watching me laugh, a sense of relief rushing to her face. “Follow me!” she chirped, the old self I knew slipping back. I grinned at the little skip in her step as she sprinting down towards the cottage. “It’s the one behind the big tree!” she said giddily, pointing towards a bamboo knit cottage. I grabbed the hem of my kimono, not realising the easy smile lacing my lips and ran after her.
❧
Jaken patted down his own tears, “I’m so glad you found her Lord Sesshomaru!” He said, “Rin must be so relieved now.”
Sesshomaru grunted in response, watching the human child skip towards the cottage and the woman clutching on to the all too big kimono to keep up with her. The two of them laughed, bare feet skidding on the dew-covered grass. A human world of their own.
It had been less than a month since the strange woman had appeared, Sesshomaru shook his head, he had saved her. He assured himself. Returned her safely, yet the daiyokai couldn’t seem to quiet his thoughts. The haunting stories of the infamous blood moon somehow sneaking up on him, ringing constantly at the back of his mind.
He tossed his hair over his shoulder, turning away. Once the wretched crimson moon had passed us, he thought, It’ll be quiet again.
❧
Rin grinned wide, stretching out her hands to show all the space we suddenly had. This cottage was way better than any we had come across before. With all the travelling and avoiding humans, there was hardly any liveable spaces to begin with. Much less an entire village. Rin dug into one the chests in the cottage pulling out spare clothes, they had even left clothes behind.
This place… its like the humans had just randomly disappeared into thin air. They had left everything behind. Clothes, pots of grains and rice, children’s toys scattered on the grass like they had disappeared while playing.
I jumped as Jaken snored loudly in the background. This sound I had not missed.
Rin giggled at my expression, “Master Jaken couldn’t sleep at all, while you weren’t here.”
“That’s…” I started, “Surprising.”
I took the new kimono Rin had offered me, finally pulled off Sango’s borrowed one I had on. Man I had really put these poor clothes through the apocalypse. Every time I got a new one, I’d just get attacked by something or the other.
Rin’s eyes pinned on the bandages, wide with worry,
She opened her mouth but the words seemed to hang in her throat.
“Someone very skilled helped me with it.” I assured her, although I didn’t know if kagome’s grass medicine could be categorized as very skilled, it had saved my life like it was ambrosia of the Gods.
Naraku’s poison had quite literally charred through my skin, clumped out the flesh. Nothing I hadn’t seen before, but this mortal body didn’t heal the way my ayakashi one did.
“Does it still hurt?” she asked timidly.
“No.” I lied.
Her thumbs fiddled with the hem of the checkered fabric, “Who was the woman that attacked us?”
“Does it matter?” I asked. “We run into ayakashi all the time.” I said, She was so young. I thought, at her age all I cared about was chasing fire birds and setting yokai on fire. She shouldn’t feel the need to carry that much.
“This one unfortunately was the bad kind, that’s all” I tried to convince her, the lesser she knew about all this mess the better.
Rin’s face fell regardless,
What’s wrong?” I asked.
“I just thought…” Her voice wavered, lower lip quivering as she pulled on a brave façade, “I thought you got hurt.” She completed finally.
I turned on my side to look at her. Her eyes looked glassy from the tears, the runny nose and ears red from the cold, bony elbows sticking out of the blanket and a swelling mosquito bite on her cheek.
“No one would tell me what happened.” she said quietly. “Then Lord Sesshomaru left too, and I just had to wait here.” She completed.
Sudden anger flared in me, after everything she had witnessed, all he did was take off without a word? At least I was trying to make up lies.
“But it wasn’t just that.”  Rin replied, cheeks puffed from trying not to cry, “It was that other thing.”
I turned my head towards her, “What do you mean?”
Rin’s face paled, uncertainty flickering in her eyes, “I don’t know what it was.” She started,
And I felt my heart drop. “I-, I think I saw something when we met that woman in the forest.”
“It wasn’t her, it felt darker,” her voice quivered, “Meaner, like there was something more than just the lady before us.”
She gulped, eyes glazing as she tried to remember, “It was all around her looming over the forest, like a spider made of shadows,” she said softly.
I felt myself holding my breath.
“It’s like I could feel how-” Tears welled up in her eyes again, “Wei, it wanted to hurt you so badly.” She croaked out.
Something bitter curled in my mouth,
Rin shook her head, her voice got very low, “I don’t even know if it was real, or I’m going crazy.”
She sniffled, wiping her nose with the back of her hand, “but I know what I felt. I know it, even though I couldn’t see” her brow knitted in frustration, “And even though master Jaken said it was in my head.” her eyes finally met mine, she shuddered, “Am I crazy?”
I stared at her, out of all the things I thought she would have to say…
“You’re not crazy.” I told her, knowing that I should probably just agree with Jaken and tell her she dreamed it. Keeping her away from all of this mess was the best mercy I could grant her. And yet I couldn’t make myself lie to her. At the end of it she deserved to know the danger before us, something we would soon be facing down whether I like it or not.
“The spider…” my voice trailed, how much of everything do I even tell her. “He exists.” I confirmed.
Just the memory made the scars on my chest sting, “and he did want to hurt me.”
I pulled my eyes to the shadows on the hay roof of the cottage, dancing in the dark like the curling legs of the spider. His strength had completely caught me off guard and the helplessness I had felt in his clutches still haunted me. I hated to admit it but the thought that I would probably be dead before I see him again was relieving.
“Why?” she asked, her voice barely a whisper.
I shook my head, “What matters is that he couldn’t.” But he will try again and again. If he wants hellfire then I’m his only link to it. I pursed my lips,
Rin’s silence rang of hesitation.
“Lord Sesshomaru can protect us from him.” She finally said, trying to sound dutiful.
“Yeah.” I mimed out absently. Honestly I’d like to think that too. Sesshomaru hadn’t ever shown me the extent of his powers, But if Inuyasha and the others don’t stop him from mining that ore, maybe even the daiyokai of the east won’t be able to stop him.
“Could you sense him too?” she asked hopefully, “The way I did?”
I shook my head, “Not really.”
Thinking back to the encounter, my reaction was purely instinctual, I hadn’t even noticed naraku’s powers until after I was already in his void. It wasn’t uncommon for humas to see demons. But it was nearly impossible for them to sense their magic. And Rin had seen naraku’s miasma even before he had shown up.
My heart felt heavy, now the coincidences were getting too cruel.
“But,” I started, my mouth felt like sandpaper, “There are some humans who can see and sense more than others.” I told her.
In the east we called it the gift of Manana, blessed by the moon with the power of premonition. Someone who could see terrible things before they actually happened. Wei, the real Wei, had the same powers.
I gave her a pained smile, “Just think of it as a gift.”
Rin looked horrified, “I don’t want it.” She croaked out. “I don’t ever want to see anything like that again.”
“It’s not all too bad.” I replied, “I knew someone who had a similar ability. She could sense things, before they actually happened.”
Not that it prevented her death, I thought bitterly.
“So, I can learn how to control it?” Rin asked.
Wei had learned to control it, I remembered. It was painted in my mind like an ink scroll painting.
Her eyes lidded as she sat before the fire, and her face crinkling as I broke her meditation. She would hiss out of frustration when I continued to egg her on, her leaf green eyes opening wide, “even the toddlers in the village know better, y/n, Toddlers!”
I averted my eyes painfully, “I guess you can.”
Rin flexed her fingers as if expecting the magic to show up on her palms, “How do I do that?”
“I don’t know.” I replied quickly, pushing away the torrent of emotions that often-accompanied Wei’s memories.
“Maybe you could ask your friend.”
“No.” I replied sharply.
I can’t ask her. Not anymore.
They would have gotten along. I had realised that the moment I had met Rin. wet tears slipped down my cheekbones sliding over the shell of my ears.
"Wei are you crying?" Rin's sleep heavy voice called out,
I felt my vision grow cloudy.
"No." I sniffled.
Rin hand threw an arm over my torso, "it's okay" the child mumbled, "I missed you too."
“You say you wouldn’t do that for anyone.” She had sniggered, twirling the scared bells around before bonking it on my head,
I pushed her hand away angrily and she had laughed, “But I bet you’d do that for me.”
I sat up suddenly.
“Where are you going?” Rin asked,
“Go to sleep.” I told her, I ran a hand along the nape of my neck, it was drenched in sweat. The cottage was too warm, and my mind was too heavy with the thoughts. I pulled my hair up in a knot. It was my last night before my death, and I didn’t want to spend it under a covered roof.
The spring looked prettier than usual, but it didn’t help that the water in it was biting cold.
I groaned as I lowered myself in the spring slowly. With the full moon on the morrow, there was no scarcity of moonlight. A view like that would have enchanted anyone, mortal or not. I sank into the numbing cold water, my fingers trailing over my arm absently. This body the curse had put me in had only started to feel like mine. It was brittle and lanky, so weak I dared not test its limits. But I had surprised myself with everything it did withstand.
Maybe it wasn’t that easy to kill humans after all.
With everything I had survived, I wondered how exactly death would come for me under the moon tomorrow. I let my head roll back in thought. I didn’t even have the capacity to think how I was to die tomorrow. I took in a deep breath pulling myself under the surface.
It felt calm underwater, the water cancelled out the sounds of the forest. God, what would I give to fall asleep under the surface just like this. This would be a nice death, like you’re drifting away to sleep. It would be a sad death; they probably wont even sing of me in the east. I stayed under water until my lungs screamed for air, eventually bopping my head up over the surface.
“human.”
His sight just left me frozen,
What the actual fuck was he doing here now.
It was a little pathetic how much I ogled him as he lowered himself into the spring slowly.
His body was that of a warrior, honed over the years, stripped with scars, some fading some brazen. I couldn’t imagine how many stories he had to tell about just the scars on his arms.
I tried to keep my eyes on his torso, trying not to dip any lower than the magenta marks around his waist.
But while the chilly mist rising from the spring was thick, it was not opaque enough. His shamelessness in my presence was surprising, but then again, he probably thought of me like a bug. Who covers themselves in front of insects?
Even in the hot spring, he settled down like a king on a throne. His silver hair pooled around him like molten starlight. With the damp hair matted across his forehead, and the slitted amber eyes peeking through the bangs, he looked every bit the god they painted him in the folk tales.
I averted my eyes awkwardly, heat rushing to my face. My body remembering the time he had actually let his reatsu out after we had hunted the boar. The way it had crawled over my senses, overwhelming me until I could feel it in the back of my throat- stop it. I screamed at myself, pressing my thighs together.
“What are you doing here?!” I snapped at him. Even after being in a human body my demon instinct still persisted and I did not have the time to deal with how badly my ayakashi-self wanted to ride him.
“Your scars.” He stated casually,
I looked down finally realising that I was also naked before him. I gulped, “urm, yes.” I replied awkwardly. In the moonlight it looked even worse than it actually was.
“It’s still poisoned.” He stated. “I can still smell his miasma off of you.”
I winced as he said that, brushing my fingers over the wounds. I had been afraid of that being the case, even without my ayakashi senses, I could feel the poison in the wounds, keeping them from healing properly. Remanets of his disgusting magic that have permanently branded themselves on my body.
“It will only fade in his death.” I sighed, a miasma like that is connected to an ayakashi’s soul.
“You won’t have to wait too long for that.” He replied.
I felt very cold, “What do you mean?” I whispered out.
His voice sent chills ran down my spine. “Isn’t it obvious?” he snarled out, “I am going to seek out the spider.”
My jaw slacked, “what do you mean seek him out?”
His eyes flicked towards me, already annoyed, “Do you think I’m a coward that sits back silently, Human?” he growled,
I shook my head, “You cannot defeat him.”
He snarled in reply, the sound making the hair on my arms stand.
“Not another word-” He growled out.
I felt a lump in my throat as his amber eyes narrowed, they were truly a beautiful colour, I forced myself to think clearly, “You don’t know what he’s capable of.” I told him.
Sesshomaru grunted, “How strong he seemed to a human like you is irrelevant.” He replied, “To so much so as look at someone under my protection was a death sentence.”
“He will pay for this insolence towards me. For even thinking of challenging me. For a spider like that to do this…” he growled out, “How humiliating.”
What stung my heart was how familiar it all was. His words, ego masquerading as nobility. How selfish the words truly sounded.
It sounded like me.
“To you?” I scoffed out, my voice low.
“I am standing here and I can fucking feel what he did to my body.” I told him, the scars, the phantom pain, the fear will never wash away. “And you have the audacity to talk about how he slighted you?”
My breathing was heavy and angry. “Because that’s what it is, isn’t it?” I said, “you’re just worried about what the world will think of you, the great daiyokai bested by a spider.”
Tears pricked at my eyes, “She used to tell me revenge is selfish, and I… I just couldn’t understand her.” I mumbled out.
My shoulders slumped; I am a fool.
All my fucking life, I had created an idea of myself. The great demigod, a ruthless warrior, and I had truly believed I was meant to live that life. But in the end, it had all been so meaningless. What had that gotten me? I had lived through my immortal life haunted by Wei’s voice, buried under the weight of her death. Tortured by just the thoughts of all that could have been. The whole truth shattered around me into a million pieces.
I buried my face in my fingers, my legs going very weak.
“What I thought would give her peace, was truly just a step I took for myself. I should have pressed that ego down. I should have stayed with her, somewhere I knew it was what my heart wanted. But I was scared that the act would be called too cowardly.”
“I failed her.” I completed. “I failed her in every way.”
The taunting voices in my head were dead silent.
“Tell me Sesshomaru.” I asked him, “Do you wish to kill him because by attacking me he questioned your authority? That you felt emasculated that someone under your protection was taken from right under your nose. Or is it truly because you wish to bring someone justice?”
He stared at me silently as I continued.
“There’s a difference, you know. A difference I just realised existed.” I shook my head, giving out a dry laugh.
“One you do for your own ego, to put someone who has defied you in their place. To tell the world that you aren’t the coward. The second…” my voice trailed away. Why hadn’t I understood such a simple thing when she was alive?
“What of the second, human?” he hissed out.
I looked up at the daiyokai sadly, “The second you do out of love.”
He actually laughed, which I soon realised was a lot more horrifying than his poker face.
He turned his head away, “It’s this trait of you humans that I cannot understand. You worry too much about your fragile lives, it’s foolish, weak.”
I frowned, my own anger bubbling up to the surface.
“Not only that, you begged me to abandon you to save her.” He continued.
His amber eyes slitted, the mountains around us seemed to shift, “you are fooled if you think you’re not weak.”
 He’s exactly like me.
Rein in your temper daughter of the hills, the voices sang,
But you can’t put out fires from hell.
"You talk of how I'm lesser for saving Rin, yet you came crawling to search for me remember?!" I said pointing a wrinkly finger at him,
Sesshomaru looked like I had just slapped him across his face. The water around me chilled. I knew the moment I should stop yapping, but my bitter temper just continued to pour out.
“You’re the one that’s weak and cowardly.” I snarled out. “Cowering away under the guise of arrogance when all you have is your empty honour. Even the measly humans you seem to hate show more chivalry.”
His growl rang in my ears as he charged. Within a second his fingers were curled around my throat, pinning me down.
His hair fell around me like a rain of starlight, his ragged breath fanning my face as his fangs slipped out. My heart hammered in my chest, as he spoke, “You have constantly, tested my patience human.” His grip tightened around me, nails digging into my skin.
“Do it.” I spat out. The anger in his eyes flickered, taken aback with something of the same ferocity staring back. After everything I had gone through, with my death facing me down tomorrow, did he think a tantrum would scare me?
“You’re only angry because I’m right.” I gurgled out. “Wei tried telling me that.” I told him, watching his brow furrow with confusion. His grip loosened and I pushed him away.
,It may be that mortal lives are delicate, but they aren't like flowers that wilt away. Many like battle scars leave their mark. They are immortalised in memories, daughter of the hills. Even bound to death, they are worth living.
“Maybe my death will make you realise that.”
I strode towards the camp angrily, in my rage I hadn’t even dried myself, just draped my kimono over my body, screamed at him and left.
I cringed a little, such dramatics. Couldn’t have just dried myself before making such impactful exit. Now the clothing along with me was sopping wet, water dripping down at my feet making small puddles as I walked back.
Something rustled making me halt. As I stared, a strange figure seemed to loom around the opening of the groove.
I furrowed my brow, the silhouette looked like that of a child that was crouched over. Did Rin follow me all the way here? I craned my neck, about to call her out when the figure spoke up first.
“Does mortality fare you well? Daughter of the hills?”
The voice was light and girlish, unrecognizable. My heart went still,
It couldn’t be.
The figure stepped forward, striding into the moonlight so I could see her.
It was a child, yet it wasn’t. The alarm that rang in my bones wasn’t from fear, it was recognition. The more I looked at her, the more inhuman she looked. Markings adorned her body, inky lines running up her face and arms, whorls made of runes mapped like galaxies on her body.
It was the same creature, that 14 moon before had appeared before me differently. My breath shallowed as time slowed around me.
The crone.
I raged towards the crone, but it felt like someone had tied boulders to my feet. Illusion magic? The invisible weight slammed me into the ground. The impact knocking the breath out of me.
She pointed a chubby finger at my face, “Have you learned nothing?”
I looked up at her aghast, the girl was no bigger than Rin, barefoot with windswept hair like she had just casually wandered out of a nearby village. She tossed a flat- stone between her hands, giving me a grin that missed a front tooth. “By now you should know you can’t compete with me.”
I growled angrily at her words, my nails dug into palms so hard I drew blood, while, she just watched me a mocking smile.
I knew it was the unnerving eyes, the iris was completely white, blinded by a cloudy white haze, like the moon peeking from behind clouds. Her unyielding gaze was pinned on me. I knew in that moment it was nothing but her gaze that had pinned me to the ground.
Don’t fucking stay down this time.
I pushed through the invisible weight with everything I had. The more I struggled against it the worse it seemed to get, gripping down my bones until they broke. I screamed through the pain, the pressure sending a stream of blood down my nose. The first time I couldn’t face her, this time- I will not go down that easily. With spots dancing before my eyes, I managed to drag myself up to my knees. My smouldering gaze finally met her, “Give m-!”
Within a second the pressure doubled, it felt like someone had grabbed my shoulders and slammed me back into the ground with a thud.
“Mmph!”
She put a hand to her ear theatrically, “I’m sorry, what was that?” the cheeky tone of her voice really pissed me off. “Couldn’t hear you with your face planted in the dirt.”
I looked up at her painfully, spitting out grass. “Give me...” I growled out. “My powers back.”
The kid gave me a toothy grin, “Even if I did,” She said cheekily, “You know your current body won’t be able to contain it right? Your flames are so ruthless, they won’t even show their own master any mercy.” She giggled as if it was the funniest thing in the world, “They’ll roast you from the inside out!”
I looked at her morbidly, “I miss the crone.”
The girl laughed, “We’re not much different.”
“Why are you here?” I asked. “What more could you possibly want?” I told her, “You have taken everything. Everything.”
My neck felt like it was going to snap from the pressure, “My powers, my body, everything that made me, myself. You stripped me of my very being” I cried out.
The creature sighed, “yes, how unfortunate.”
My anger surfaced again “You vile masochistic demon.” I snarled out, thrashing on the ground as the invisible force continued to pin me, “What did you gain by putting me through all of this?”
The child arched an eyebrow,
“So your mother levelling mountains because someone ticked her off is divine, but me cursing a sad demigod is vile?” She challenged, “Such double standards.” She said clicking her tongue, “I was right the first time, your ayakashi blood does make you stupid.”
My eyes widened, my mother?
I felt my mouth go very dry, I should have figure that the scorching light wasn’t just any spell, it was divine spirit energy. No ayakashi can put curses out like that. No, I realised bitterly, it wasn’t a curse at all, it was a prophecy.
A Goddess.
She could bend everything that the moonlight fell over. Bathed in divine light, the goddess of the crimson moon.
Just like the different phases of the moon she appears different each time.
Oh seven hells. Maybe I should apologise for calling her a masochist.
My jaw tightened, “You’re her.” I gasped out, goosebumps flooding my body, “You are Manana.”
A ghost of a smile played at her lips, the blind eyes crinkling at the sound of her name, “Well then,” she said, sounding very pleased. “Now that you know, we can actually begin.”
“What do you want?” I said, feeling the exhaustion in my bones. I had fought for this stupid human life for days, scrambling to keep myself alive. I hadn’t expected mortality to be so heavy.
“What I want?” She asked, giving out another laugh, “I thought you would be rubbing your nose at my feet begging me to spare your life tomorrow.” She completed. “Tell me daughter of the hills, do you not fear the fate tomorrow’s crimson moon will bring you?”
Considering how much it did scare me, I should have been begging her for life. For most demigods in the stories, begging for mercy to a Goddess worked out well.
“Unless..” She picked up on my thoughts, “That’s no longer what you wish for.”
I pulled myself to tell her what was truly ripping me from the inside, “If Naraku holds my dying heart, he’ll get his hands on hellfire.” I said,
“But my death will prevent that” I explained flatly, “There won’t be a beating heart to hold.” I told her bitterly. My eyes met her’s with a broken smile, “it’s not much, but I can accept a death like that.” It’s the best defence I can provide the others.
The ends of her mouth twitched, “Are you really naive enough to believe that something so mundane as death would stop him?” She replied, “There’s no stopping his ambition. He’ll find a way to attain your flames even if he has to carve out your corpse.”
 No. I mouthed.
“That’s not what was supposed to happen.” I whispered out, my throat going very dry, my death won’t matter. He will continue to hunt everyone I will leave behind.
I curled my fists, “You don’t understand, this isn’t just about me anymore.” I looked up at her, trying to gather any shred of sympathy. “If he gets his hands on my flames, I–“ I shook my head, “I don’t even know what all he would be capable of.” I looked up at sudden desperation closing up my throat, “No one else understands.”
“Not Sesshomaru not inuyasha and the others, they don’t fucking understand how powerful he is.” But I do.
I felt the brunt of his powers firsthand, the poison in his miasma and how his talons tried to carve out my heart. “They will not be able to stand up to him.”
“And?” she asked.
My words faltered, “And?” I cried out angrily, My voice cracked, “The death and destruction he will bring would be a thousand times worse than what I did.”
“Human lives obviously.” The Goddess said, “Naraku’s descent into power will spark a war bartered in lives, ayakashi and humans.” She flicked the flat-stone and it disappeared mid-air.
“But it’s a war that does not concern you.” She said, “It is something you won’t even have to deal with at all. What has changed so much, that it has you pleading, daughter of the hills?”
“That doesn’t…” I pursed my lips, no longer knowing what exactly to say. I will die tomorrow. And whatever fucked up shit naraku is brewing I won’t be a part of it. Wasn’t that the easiest way out of it?
“I can’t just leave now.” I said finally, my head dropped, No matter how much the fire clan sang about glorious deaths, and how much I thought I desired a gore-y end on a battlefield. I realized I wanted to live. Even as a sad, unattractive, mortal, mountain girl. I still wanted to live. Especially now. Especially now that I’m-
My voice quivered, “I’m leaving behind too much.” I rasped out. “With my hellfire, I can give them a chance.”
“What does it really matter which tyrant holds the flames?” She tilted her head, “Do you think he would use it any different than what you did?”
The world around me went very still. Hellfire isn’t something I deserved either.
I begged her, “I know… I know I deserve my end.” I bowed to the divinity before, surrendering every sense of ego I had, “So please, Please” -
I thought of Rin and Kagome, and all those who had shown me so much kindness. They would all fall under his hand, hounded by my flames. The same flames I could have used to protect them. Even if I can’t change my destiny.
“I don’t have anything else to barter.” I replied, “You already have my life, so I can only beg this to you.”
“You can’t let Naraku get my flames.” I told her,
“I don’t care what you have to do to this body for that.” I continued, burned, eaten by animals, “Whatever brutal death I’m fated to tomorrow” I said, “Please, make sure it rids my entire existence, and I’ll pull my hellfire back into hell with me.”
There was a momentary silence, where I thought, she would start laughing again. But the Goddess just hummed curiously.
“Fine then, daughter of the hills.” She spoke, the voice ringing out hauntingly in the grove.
My eyes widened
“Tomorrow when death comes for you, I’ll allow you a chance.”
The Goddess beckoned her powers and magic shook the forest awake. I could feel the ancient, strange spirits of the forest peek over the shadows around us. Stirring from years of slumber to witness another prophecy.
Her white iris gleamed, “Just one.”
I stared at her in absolute silence. Just like the first time I had encountered her, the temperature around me dropped, making my ears ring painfully.
The tips of her lip curled, “I’ll give you one chance to change your destiny, where you can seize back your flames, return to a life of immortality.”
As I watched, the markings on her face began to glow, knowing what was coming I shielded my eyes from the blinding light. It still seemed to sear into my skin, like I had embraced a burning star.
“Daughter of the hills, death will come for you under the crimson moon.” Her voice boomed around me, “But as the blood moon rises for my feast, I shall grant you one final bargain. Take it, and you’ll find your flames again.”
When the light died, I was still on the ground, my kimono soiled from dirt and sweat. As I came to myself, I felt my heart hammer in my chest, a singular thought running in my mind.
Even if the earth splits open and the sky shatters around me, even if it was nearly impossible, even if I only had one chance, somehow, anyhow, I had to survive.
“Wei!” Rin called out in the darkness and I jumped.
In the dark she looked like a little tent, sitting up on her knees the moment I walked back into the cottage.
“Didn’t I tell you to sleep?” I sighed,
The child looked at me expectantly, “I was thinking about what you said earlier.”
I shook my head, far too exhausted to think about this again, “Rin I really don’t want to talk about this.”
“Hear me out.” She persisted as I dropped down on the mattress beside her.
“Next time.” She told me, “When I see something, we can just run away together.”
She said it with such sincerity I wheezed. That did seem like a simpler solution.
“Don’t laugh!” Rin said, her fingers tugged the sleeve of my kimono, “Promise me.” She said seriously, “Promise me that the next time we’re in danger you won’t stay back alone.” her sound was barely was a whisper, but it hung in the icy air like a sword over my neck.
“Promise me that we’ll run away together.”
I stared back at her,
One chance.
I tried to give her a small smile. One
A fool’s bargain, yet a bargain nonetheless.
“I promise.”

Tumblr media Tumblr media
[🌸] ay mi ciela 🦅
warnings: yanderishhh— and thoughts
characters: sesshomaru;; some character mentions
haha :b… wHAT—
Tumblr media
- - -
-okwy, okay, okay, okay
-hear me out… 🔥
-I know I said I wasn't going to write anything about yandere or something similira bUT—
-a Sesshomaru soft yandere…
-woman, do you think the same as me???
-like????
-that would be our sesshomaru from the first season!
-*happy noises* okay imagine a demon lord being jealous of the slightest interaction you have with human men because-
-YOU don't deserve to be with those human garbage
-yes, he knows that you are human but you are different, you know?
-You're the only human being he can stand not cutting off their head (and then Rin arrived, so there would be two... no wait; there's Kagome, Kohaku and—)
-well at least he stand others BUT
-don't think that the man who looked at you in a seductive way and wanted to touch you will go unpunished.
-sesshomaru will growl with evil intentions when he sees another demon/human approaching you
-our man is ✨wild✨
-his level of protection towards you will rise to infinity
-his level of love and adoration for you will rise to infinity
-his level of jealous will rise to infinity
-but he won't hurt you!
-of course not!
-how can you think that? You are like a delicate flower that he must protect because he decided to make an exception for you when he decided to be with you
-The touches you will receive from other people other than him to you will be few.
-rin can hug you all day without suffering consequences or an annoying growl from your grumpy man
-Kagome is fine, she can hug you... for a limited time (he's counting time)
-with jaken it's an in-between... the demon goblin can feel your touch if YOU are touching him, which happens if the little demon goblin gets hurt and needs your help. although he prefers that Rin be the one to take care of him
-As for Inuyasha... please no
-just no…
-no :)
-sesshy is going to be the type of yandere who will tell you that he's doing it for your own good while hiding you in a cave or something similar when he's feeling particularly jealous of showing you to the world
-(If it were up to him he hides you underground so that the evil of the world will never touches you... but he discovered from the annoying girl called Kagome that humans need sun. AKA: vitamin c)
-sesshy sad because his plan is not going to work
-In the end, to keep you happy and let you go out more often, he decided to put a nice cloak on you with his scent so that at least others could smell him on you BECAUSE—
-he will not share your smell either, my dearest friend
-(he almost put out the eyes of the monk who accompanies his foolish younger brother when he discovered him looking at you)
-It was worse when Naraku decided to kidnap you... he almost sent the world and human existence to hell—
-Jaken vaguely concerned about how the good of living beings depends on your life and what you want
.
.
.
-Well, I hope this has been satisfactory ✌🏼 haha
Tumblr media Tumblr media
that would be me if I met sesshy from the first season— like… dude pls calm down 😭

༶•┈┈⛧┈♛ ᎬΝᎫϴᎽ ͲᎻᎬ ՏͲϴᎡᎽ ♛┈⛧┈┈•༶
You were sitting in your room by your lonesome as you quietly sipped your tea. You wore an elegant kimono draped over your white one, as you rested on your bedding. The candle was the only light source in the darkened room. You sighed to yourself, as you soaked in the gentle aroma of your tea.
Your strength has come back, and you’ve been able to manage around the castle on your own, but you preferred Kohaku’s ever-sweet presents with you. You smiled as you thought of him, he was such a sweet boy. The sound of a light knocking against the shogi doors brought you from your thoughts, and you looked over at them. “Come in.” You said.
The gentle voice of Kohaku sounded through and your smile spread. He slid open the doors and you smiled sweetly at him. He smiled in return as he placed a tray with food on the floor of your room, before he moved to close the door behind him. “Good evening, Kohaku. How are you?” You kindly asked him. He smiled as he walked to you with the tray. “I’ve been well, Miss (Y/N). I’ve just been busy around the castle is all.” He answered kindly as he moved to sit before you. You smiled at his answer, as you watched him place your tray before you. “I’m pleased to hear that. Thank you, Kohaku.” You kindly said.
“It’s no problem at all, Miss (Y/N).” He replied as he sat with his knees tucked under him. You smiled at him before you looked down at your food, it wasn’t anything special, just a bowl of rice, a grilled fish, and two boiled eggs. You looked up at him in question. “Are you hungry, Kohaku?” You asked him. His eyes widen some at your question. “Umm, I am a little hungry, but I’ll eat later.” He said with a sheepish smile. You gave him a concerned look before you picked up a boiled egg and you offered it to him.
“Here, eat this, and once you’re done you can have some rice too.” You said. He shook his head as he held his hand up. “Oh no, I can’t. That’s for you Miss (Y/N).” He said. Your face went stern as you pushed the boiled egg toward his hand. “I understand that, but you work so hard around here, you deserve a well-earned break, so please eat.” You pleaded with a stern voice. He stared at you with a worried look before he looked down at the egg and he sighed in defeat before he took the egg.
You smiled in triumph as you picked up the bowl of rice. “Once you’ve finished your egg, you may eat some rice too.” You said. He nodded as he took a bite from the egg. You smiled tenderly at him, happy to see him eating. He devoured his egg quickly before he greedily picked up the bowl of rice and he began shoving it down his throat. You smiled fondly at him as you picked up your tea cup and you moved to hand it to him. “Here, drink something before you choke.” You said with a slight chuckle.
He stopped eating the rice, as his face flushed red with embarrassment. He placed the bowl down and he took the cup of tea. You smiled sweetly at him as you watched him eat your whole meal. But you didn’t mind. ‘He’s such a hard worker, he takes his job so seriously till he doesn’t even eat much.’ You thought. You smiled to yourself in thought as you looked down at your lap. ‘He’s such a sweet boy, he reminds me of Inuyasha when he was a young boy.’ You thought.
Your eyes suddenly flashed worriedly as you looked off to your side. ‘I hope he's fairing well. I know he's strong but I can't but worry.' You thought. Your cheeks suddenly warmed as you thought of the young lord of the castle. 'It’ll come as an unwelcoming surprise if he finds out that I’ve fallen in love with the young lord of this house.’ You thought worriedly. ‘But maybe he won’t mind so much, after all, he’s a half-demon just like himself.’ You thought hopefully.
The sound of wooden dishes being placed down made you snap from your thoughts and you smiled at Kohaku as he let out a contented sigh. “Ah! That hit the spot.” He said as he rubbed his stomach. You chuckled at him sweetly. “I’m glad that you enjoyed it, I hope you eat more often like this, Kohaku. I worry for you.” You said. He smiled at you. “I’ll try, Miss (Y/N).” He promised. You smiled as you nodded at him.

Inuyasha and the group were moving quickly through the woods. Inuyasha had recently caught the scent of Oak Trees and Miasma, and he immediately jumped into action and everyone followed. Kagome was forced to ride on Kirara since Inuyasha just suddenly took off, but she couldn’t blame him, his mom was in danger. If her mom was in the same predicament, she'd do the same thing. It was a pretty silent chase, not much could be said about the situation at hand.
Inuyasha’s solid focus was on keeping the scent as he ran and glided through the forest. ‘Don’t worry Mom, I’m coming to save you.’ He determinedly thought. He blinked in shock and confusion when a familiar scent rolled through. He looked towards his right, and he looked towards his left, but he didn’t see anything. ‘Why do I smell Sesshomaru nearby?’ He thought in confusion as he continued his chase.
Sango, Miroku, Kagome, and Shippo all sat in silence as they followed Inuyasha from above on Kirara. Kirara suddenly growled in warning as she looked back causing everyone else to react. “What’s the matter, Kirara?” Sango asked in concern as she looked at her companion. “What’s wrong, Sango?” Miroku asked as he looked around at Sango.
She looked back at him in confusion and worry. “I don’t know, but Kirara is reacting to something.” She explained worriedly, her eyes trailed passed everyone and her eyes widen. “Huh? What’s he doing here?” She asked in confusion. Everyone looked at her in question before they all followed her gaze behind them. Their eyes widen when they noticed that they were being trailed.
“What in the world?” Miroku asked in shock. “It’s Sesshomaru!?” Kagome called out loudly in confusion. Her voice caused Inuyasha to look back and he narrowed his sight on Sesshomaru. 'There he is. I knew I smelled him.' Inuyasha thought. Sesshomaru was flying behind the group, his impassive face dead set as he shot through the sky like a comet. “What’s he doing here?” Shippo asked in a frightened voice. “I’m not sure, but it probably has something to do with (Y/N).” Mirkou said.
“He must be following the same scent as Inuyasha.” Kagome said. Sesshomaru paid them no mind as he sped past them, the speed at which he traveled caused a whipping wind to pass by the group. They all closed their eyes as they hung on tightly to one another so as to not be blown away. Kirara growled in struggle as she fought against the powerful winds that pushed her back causing her to fall back some. “KIRARA!! ARE YOU OKAY!?” Sango yelled in worried as she felt Kirara give slightly under the wind.
Inuyasha growled in worry as he watched his friends struggle against the winds before he glared over at Sesshomaru. “What the hell are you doing, Sesshomaru? If it’s anyone who's going to take out Naraku, it’s going to be me.” He declared as he ran, keeping up with Sesshomaru's speed. Sesshomaru said nothing, as he kept focus on the sight in front of him. His eyes were glossed over with rage as he practically ignored Inuyasha. Inuyasha’s annoyed stare turned into a confused one before his glare softened some before he looked ahead of himself once more.
“Listen, I get it, you’re upset about Mom getting taken by that creep, but we’ll get her back.” Inuyasha said, trying to comfort Sesshomaru while also reassuring himself. He was feeling rather antsy, he was honestly nervous about it all. Sesshomaru glanced over at Inuyasha for a second before he looked back ahead. “Hmph, that woman is of no concern to me. I am simply here to defeat Naraku.” He scoffed. Inuyasha scoffed in return. “Huun, don’t give me that load of crap, you’re just as worried as I am, face it Sesshomaru, you’re here to save mom just like I am.” Inuyasha said. Sesshomaru scowled but he didn’t say anything in return.
The group flew behind the brothers, listening to the two as they conversed. “So, Sesshomaru knows of (Y/N)’s abduction.” Miroku noted. Sango nodded before she looked back at him. “Yes, but I’m not sure how, unless Kagura spoke to him just as she did to us.” She said. Miroku nodded. “Yes, that would make the most sense. Kagura needs as many people as she can get to help her obtain her freedom.” He said.
Sango nodded in agreement. Kagome looked down at the brothers with a thoughtful look. “Yeah, but how did Kagura know that she had any kind of connections to Sesshomaru?” She asked. They both looked back at her in shock. “That’s a good question.” Sango said. Miroku nodded. “It is, it does hold some concern. I now wonder how much of what Kagura told us was true.” He said as he thought over what Kagura told them a few nights ago.
“Yes, like if this Kusho Pearl even exists.” Sango agreed. Kagome spoke up. “I think it does.” She said. They both looked back at her in question. “Oh? How do you figure?” Sango asked. “Well, if she was lying, she wouldn’t of have sounded so hopeful. Don’t forget, she wants Naraku dead just as much as we do.” She said. Miroku nodded. “That’s true, she would have no reason to lie about the Pearl then.” He confirmed. “The question that now remains, is how did she know that (Y/N) even had any sort of connections to Sesshomaru.” Sango said. Everyone grew silent as they thought it over to themselves.

In the rocky mountains, a group of wolves could be seen running along with Ginta and Hakkaku, they were all breathing heavily as they ran through the mountains that lead towards the woods. “KOGA!!” Ginta yelled in exhaustion. “WAIT...FOR US!!!” Hakkaku yelled as they both tiredly jogged. They could see a twister that was a few yards away from them before it vanished into the woods.
They came to a stop, as they leaned over, their hands on their knees as they caught their breaths. “What’s got him… so wired up?” Hakkaku panted. “I don’t know… something about Naraku maybe.” Ginta panted. Koga ran ahead, a determined glare on his face as he charged through the forest. ‘Naraku, you bastard. I’ve finally caught a whiff of your disgusting scent. You’re mine this time.’ He thought as he raced through the forest. In the sky,
Kagura floated on her feather, as she stared down in wonder. ‘So Koga is in on the hunt too is he? I wasn’t expecting this, but the more the merrier as they say. With Naraku’s sudden change in plan, this is perfect.’ She thought, pleased with the outcome. ‘I was about to change tactics, but this should work out just fine.’ She thought before she flew off in the same direction that Koga was heading in. ‘With this amount of people, we might just have a chance to actually defeat Naraku.’ She thought as her eyes gleamed in unpromised triumph.

In Naraku’s castle, the Kusho Pearl gleamed a dark purple aura, the Jewel shard reacting in kind as it shined its own pure aura. Elsewhere in the castle, Kohaku walked with you down the many halls of the castle. “This castle is ever so gloomy.” You suddenly stated. Kohaku nodded in agreement. “It truly is.” He said. You sighed as you stared at the darkened hall before you. “I wonder, if perhaps the young lord will allow me to decorate the walls with some life?” You pondered aloud.
Kohaku looked over at you with a kind smile. “It’s hard to say, but it doesn’t hurt to ask him.” He said, as he encouraged you. You smiled over at him. “Ask me what?” Came Naraku's smooth voice. You both looked forward, seeing Naraku walking down the hall towards you both, Kanna walked behind him silently, her mirror shining a white light before it went back to being a reflective surface.
Kohaku straightened up in slight nervousness while your cheeks warmed and you bowed your head bashfully. “Oh, um..well my Lord. I was wondering...” You said shyly before you tailed off. Naraku stared at you for a moment before he walked forward toward you. He stopped before you, his socks coming into your field of vision but you didn’t look up. “I’m sorry, but I can’t quite hear you. You’ll have to speak up some, Milady.” He said politely.
You slowly looked up at him bashfully. “Well… I was just speaking to Kohaku, and I wanted to know if that, I perhaps could decorate the castle some.” You said shyly. He stared down at you, his eyes studied you with question before he smiled kindly. “You may, but what did you have in mind?” He asked. He honestly could care less, but he had to make your heart swoon for him completely.
You beamed up at him happily before you began to give him a list of ideas. He watched you intensely, not really focusing on what you were saying. He focused on the familiar aura of Onigumo’s aura that was leaking from you. It grew some since he last saw you. ‘Ah, so my plan is working after all, is it? I thought that perhaps it wouldn’t take hold, but alas, her half-human heart soaked in that ridiculous emotion like a sponge.”
He gave a small smirk in triumph as he ‘listened’ to your ideas for the castle. ‘Inuyasha will be most ‘pleasantly’ surprised when he discovers that his mother is loyal to me. Her heart beats for me, just as strongly as it does for him.’ He thought, as he placed his hand gently against the small of your back, leading you along with him as he nodded to your silly ideas. Kohaku stared after the two of your figures in concern for your well-being.
Kanna walked slowly pass him, as she kept up with Naraku. Kohaku looked over at her, watching as she slowly passed by him. He sighed before he decided to follow as well. The darkness of the castle swallowed you all, as your happy voice carried out through the darkness of the castle.

The Young Lord's Bride (Part 1)
(a Dororo x Inuyasha crossover)
Tahomaru x f!Reader (romantic, non-smut) | Sesshomaru x sister!Reader (platonic) Summary: While on the search for Naraku with your older brother, Sesshomaru, a strange demonic energy brings you to an abandoned village in the Land of Daigo. There, you meet the Lord's son, Tahomaru, with whom you begin to foster a forbidden bond.
A/N: Ages -- Sesshomaru and Reader are both many hundreds of years old (as demons). Physically Sesshomaru is 19, Reader 17. There will NOT be smut or sexual content in the story
"Aniue."
Sesshomaru didn't respond. He kept on walking ahead of you down the path, deep in his own silent thoughts.
"Aniue."
Typical to his character, he still didn't respond.
You sighed and ran to catch up with him. "Aniue, I'm talking to you! Hey!"
Without looking back, Sesshomaru replied, "Y/n, I am not in the mood to talk. Heed your older brother's will and be silent."
"That's right, y/n-sama!" Jaken piped up, waving his staff of three heads in a scolding manner. "You must obey Sesshomaru-sama and stop your babbling at once!"
You glared at the loudmouthed imp. "Who says you can tell me what to do?"
"Jaken," Sesshomaru said calmly, without emotion in his voice. "If you give another scolding to my sister, I will kill you."
Tumblr media
Jaken cowered and made many quick steps backwards.
You looked at your brother as he continued on ahead.
"Aniue. Will you let this gripe with Inuyasha over the Tetsusaiga go?"
Sesshomaru slowed down a bit in pace. "You do not understand the blow to my pride Chichiue gave me by leaving me nothing but this sword that cannot cut," he said with bitterness in his voice, his eyes refusing to glimpse at you.
You sighed. "Yeah, well he left me the So'unga, which I can't even use."
Sesshomaru's eyebrows furrowed very slightly. "That is your weakness if you cannot use it."
You folded your arms over your chest. "Then why don't you help teach me how to overcome its aura, Anieue? It's too much for you, too."
Sesshomaru was silent for several steps.
"Still, y/n, Chichiue was willing to leave you with something of value."
There was no point continuing to argue with him. You stayed behind him, watching as the fluffy piece of his armour seemed to wave behind him like a tail.
But then, suddenly, he stopped and put his arm out in front of him. "Do you sense it?"
You concentrated more. "It's very weak. Do you think it's Naraku?"
Sesshomaru took off at full speed.
"Aniue!" you call as went after him. You hated how he had the habit of sprinting away without warning.
"Sesshomaru-sama! Y/n-sama! Please don't leave me behind!" Jaken's squeaky voice shot into your ears before you disappeared into the distance.
You and Sesshomaru followed the faint demonic energy until you reached an area where you were surrounded by it. The two of you both elegantly came to a stop, finding yourselves in a damaged village. The demonic energy was lightly pulsing under the ground like the echo of an earthquake.
Somehow, despite being left far enough behind that you would think he would be lost for good, Jaken always catches up to you. After you and Sesshomaru took a moment to survey the area, searching for the core of the demonic energy, you heard Jaken panting, completely out of breath. The small creature then collapsed to the ground behind you.
"This human village is a mess," you said as you looked around. The place was deserted, with no people to be seen and X markings on most of the houses.
Jaken, having taken in large inhales of air, cringed from the stench. "It smells like decaying bodies over here! Fuu! There must have been a human plague here. What do you think, Sesshomaru-sama?"
Sesshomaru didn't answer him. Instead he moved closer to you and put a hand on your shoulder. "Y/n, let's go. We do not want this smell to contaminate us."
You nodded in agreement, and were about to leave with your brother, when a young man's voice called over to you.
"Who goes there!?"
You could see in Sesshomaru's jaw that he was gritting his teeth at the sound of the voice. From what you could sense, it was obviously coming from a human, and an uppity one at that.
You turned in the direction of the voice to see a young man dressed in samurai attire. He had a harsh expression on his face, as if he was pressing his muscles into a scowl to try to make himself look tougher. His slanted eyebrows dug into his brow as his glare pierced heavily towards you. You couldn't help but bring your attention to his right eye. It was closed with a vertical scar going through the middle, as if he had been slashed in the eye. It was rather shocking. He looked like he was only around Inuyasha's age.
Tumblr media
Jaken started to shake his staff at the young samurai. "How dare you talk to my Lord and Lady with that insolent mouth, human! If you value your life you will get on your knees right now and show some respect --!" His squawking speech was silenced with a kick from Sesshomaru's feet as he calmly and deliberately stepped closer to the young man.
The young man seemed to be made uncomfortable by Sesshomaru's presence, but he stood his ground. "Who are you and where do you come from? This is Daigo Land!"
You heard Sesshomaru growl quietly under his breath and wondered if the young samurai would end up soiling himself out of fear.
"Daigo Land?" you ask and step forward, moving between Sesshomaru and the stranger. "Some land you've got here. This village seems to have fallen to its death."
"Y/n. I will speak with this human," Sesshomaru said.
"Let me take care of it, Aniue. You're too annoyed right now."
"Y/n ..."
"Aniue, just let me handle him."
The bickering seemed to relax the young man. The muscles in his face stopped squeezing together so roughly, and he looked at you with a gaze of curiosity.
"Do you know of a demon named Naraku?" Sesshomaru asked in a stern voice.
The young man looked confused. "Naraku?"
"That's right!" piped up Jaken. "Have you no ears!?"
"Silence, Jaken!"
"Y-Yes, Sesshomaru-sama."
You rubbed your forehead. "My brother is really focused on the mission we've got. But it seems you don't know anything."
"Mission?" the young samurai asked.
"Y/n, we will be going," Sesshomaru said.
You looked at the young samurai. He was kind of cute, now that he wasn't trying to look as angry and authoritative as before. "Aniue, I think I'd like to talk to him more. Maybe he knows more than he lets on."
"I --" the young man began.
"Y/n," Sesshomaru said with an underlying harshness in his voice. "We will be going. I desire to investigate the demonic energy in this region. We will not be wasting our time here."
"Demonic energy?" the stranger asked. He stepped closer to you. "What demonic energy?"
"You don't sense it?" you asked.
He shook his head.
"It is because he is a useless human, y/n. We are going." Sesshomaru started to walk away.
"There is ... a place around here that concerns demons," the young man said.
Sesshomaru stopped.
"Can you bring us to it?" you asked.
"I ..." He seemed to not really want to, but felt very pressured by Sesshomaru's threatening eye. He didn't appear to catch on to the fact that you and your brother were demons, but it was clear that you were both very powerful and in the strange company of your imp servant. "Yes. I can. If you will allow me."
"Well then, let's go, since we found ourselves here!" you say before your brother can utter a word. You look to the young man. "We'll be following you then. Or at least I will." You look to Sesshomaru, who gives you a glare.
"Yes," the stranger seemed to be nervous. "Follow me." He cleared his throat. "The place I'll bring you to is a bit of a distance. I have my horse tied at the edge of the village, but there aren't any others around. We'll have to ride to the Castle to secure some for you."
"Castle?" Sesshomaru asked.
The young man nodded. "Yes. I'm Lord Daigo's son, Tahomaru."
Sesshomaru appeared to take him slightly more seriously after hearing his pedigree, although at the end of the day he was still a human.
"My sister and I do not require horses. You will point us in the direction we are to meet you at."
"I'd like to ride a horse," you say. "It's something new."
"Y/n, this is not a time for adventure."
"Why not?"
"This is a serious matter."
You sigh. "I still want to ride a horse. So, Tahomaru can point you and Jaken in the direction to go, and I'll go back to the Castle with him and get a horse."
"You will not be going alone over there."
Tumblr media
"Then come with me, Aniue."
It was all too overwhelming for Tahomaru. He cleared his throat and tried to stand straighter. "Please, if you come to my Castle, I will treat you to some tea."
"We do not eat human food," Sesshomaru said, almost in a snarl.
Tahomaru froze. "Human food?"
"We're demons," you say. "Couldn't you tell?"
Tahomaru just stared, his eye popping open wider.
You sighed. "No, no, we aren't those kind of monster demons that are overly aggressive and kind of stupid. We're more sophisticated demons."
"That's right!" came Jaken's voice. "You should know better just by looking at my Lord and Lady!"
"Jaken." Sesshomaru sounded like he was coming close to losing his patience.
You look back to Tahomaru. "Don't listen to my brother. We can eat human food. He's just being difficult. But we prefer raw meat, if you can arrange that."
Tahomaru stuck his nose into the air a bit. "Well, we do have plenty of high-quality raw fish at the Castle. There's more than enough that can be arranged for your liking."
"Sounds good. I'm actually pretty hungry." You look to Sesshomaru. "I'm going with him, Aniue."
Tahomaru straightened his shoulders and started to lead you to the horse. Jaken started to rant again about how you should not defy your older brother's wishes before he was stepped on by Sesshomaru, who reluctantly followed you. He caught up with you in an instant, hovering over your back as you walked.
"I do not like going with him," he said under his breath in a very low voice.
"He might have more information about that demon energy. It's the best lead we've got," you said to him back.
Sesshomaru sneered but agreed, and all of you began to head to the Castle.

Hey, can I request some headcannons of Dabi, Zuko, and Sesshomaru with a s/o that like cutesy things and bright colours. Pretty much the opposite of them. Thank you.
Dabi, Zuko, Sesshomaru Headcanons
Anime/Manga: BNHA, ATLA, Inuyasha
Warnings: None
Enjoy this cutesy goodness! 💕
——————————————————————————-
Tumblr media
Dabi didn’t think he would fall for you. He thought you were to good and pure for him. he would watch as you got excited over the littlest things, how you would bring color back into his life. Even though you are the complete opposite of him he didn’t mind, he would do anything for you because one of his main priorities is keeping that smile he loves so much on your face.
“Dabi! Look I learned how to make flower crowns! - and that’s not all, I made us matching ones!” You say happily while storming into his room.
“You expect me to wear that don’t you.” He says with a smirk
“Well I did make it especially for you.” You say while flashing a smile at him. He knew he couldn’t say no once you smiled at him the way you do, then again when was he ever able to say no to you. Dabi took a flower crown from your hand and put in on his head and smiled down at you.
“I hope you realize I wouldn’t do this for anyone else.”
“You always make me feel so special.”
-Later that day-
“Is that a flower crown?!” Himiko asked while trying to suppress a laugh.
“Say one more word and I’ll burn you.”
He is usually stressed out due to his work with the League of Villians, during these times he likes to be around you even more. You are his light in the dark that always seems to relax him. You fill his life with love he never knew he needed even if you can be childish at times and want to do things he isn’t interested in.
“Hi honey bun! I know you had a hard day so I rented some Disney movies and set up these fairy lights for us.” You say with a smile while he walks into the room.
“That’s good.. but why is there stuffed animals everywhere?”
“Whenever I watched Disney movies growing up I would watch it with my stuffed animals and I’m not going to break the tradition now.” You say with a giggle.
Dabi only really laughs around you. You are the only person to make him laugh until his stomach hurts and most of the time you don’t even try to make him laugh when it happens. However other times you do because you miss the sound of it.
“Dabi... hugs?” You say while looking at him form the bed as he gets dressed for work.
“Come over here then.”
You walk over to him and start to put your arms around him but at the last minute to tickle him and he laughs before finally being able to capture your hands in his.
“What was that for princess?”
“You always look sad before you leave for work.. I wanted to make you smile this time.”
Dabi is actually pretty good at dates. He knows what you like and what would make you happiest just based on what you say around him. He makes it his priority to plan all the dates even if you two can’t go on them often. However even if he doesn’t let you plan the dates you still try to do things for him, like bake his favorite desserts or write him love letters.
“Where are we going today?” You ask happily while you two walk across a bridge.
“It’s a surprise.”
Dabi stops walking and you look around, a field of sunflowers is right in front of you and your heart skips a beat.
“It’s beautiful!” You say happily before running into the field.
Dabi looks at you as you run through the field laughing and smelling the flowers. “Yes, you are beautiful.”
He’s protective of you and wouldn’t like to see you hurt. He would do anything you need from him while your hurt or sick, and would even do more than you asked of him just because he wants you back to being happy and bubbly.
“Dabi you didn’t need to get all that medicine, it’s just a cold.” You say with a small smile.
“Stop complaining and let me take care of you.”
Tumblr media
King Zuko likes having you around even though you two don’t have much in common. He likes getting to learn new things about you and spending time with you whenever he can.
“Y/N you told me last time how much you like being outside, so I arranged for us to take a stroll through the city today.” Zuko says before taking your hand in his.
“Really?! Thank you. There’s so much I want to do with you while we are there, like share ice cream together or play some games at the carnival in town.”
“Don’t rush, we have a lifetime together, we will fill it with all the things you can ever imagine.”
He is often stressed out with ruling over the Fire Nation and repairing the destruction that happened before his reign. You noticed this and try to do things for him that would help make him more relaxed, such as helping him with his paperwork or setting up moonlight picnics when he’s working late.
“Y/N not that I mind or anything, but why did you sign this form with a heart next to your name.” Zuko said walking into office where you were deligently helping him with his paperwork.
“It made it look more cute.”
“Princess, you are cute enough as it is.”
Zuko smiles and laughs but rarely and it has to be a good occasion. You always make it a mission to make him smile or laugh around you, whether it’s telling him puns or doing something cute for him like putting candles in line to form the words “I love you.”
“Katara he’s on his way! Thank you for helping me set this up!” You say before seeing her out the door.
“Of course! He’s going to love it Y/N.”
You finish throwing putting the roses in place before hiding so you can fully surprise him when he walks in. Zuko opens the door to be surrounded by rose petals and in the middle of the bedroom floor candles spell out I love you. He can’t help but smile before tears start to tickle his eyes.
You pop out from behind a chair and say “surprise! I wanted to do something special for you today!”
“I can’t put into words how much I love you Y/N.” Zuko says while pulling you into his arms.
Zuko doesn’t have much time to plan dates, every now and then he will plan elaborate and fancy ones fit for a queen or more lay backed ones that are usually last minute when his schedule clears unexpectedly. You are the one that plans any dates, you plan them for either things around the castle or trips where you both can get away for awhile.
“Zuko, here’s your bag. The boat is here, let’s go.” You say while taking his hand and start walking down the halls.
“What? Where are we going?”
“We are going to the beach for the weekend. I already had your advisors reschedule anything you had to do this weekend.” You say while looking back at him with a smile.
“How did I get so lucky to find you.” He says happily before picking you up and carrying you in his arms.
He’s protective over you and wants to make sure he can give you the best in life. He wants to be the best guy he can for you and give you everything you deserve. If you are sick? Best healers will be sent to the kingdom, if you are sad? Be prepared to be pampered with anything you want.
“I know you aren’t feeling well and even though it’s just the flu I brought you roses since they are your favorite flowers.”
“Zuko you brought like 100!” You say while laughing from the bed.
“I just wanted to make you laugh.” He says before getting in bed to cuddle with you.

Sesshomaru never fell in love with a human before, especially someone who loved life as much as you do. You taught him to slow down and enjoy moments and things he would have never thought about before. You made him see the the beauty in life that he didn’t realize was there.
“Sesshomaru, Rin and I were in the garden today and I saw these begonia’s and I thought they would look good in here.” You say while entering his office a placing a vase of flowers by the window.
“Won’t they just die in a couple of days?”
“Then I’ll replace them each time.”
He’ll never admit he actually loves the fact that every few days you come and replace the flowers and looks at them when ever he thinks of you.
Sesshomaru doesn’t show that he’s stressed out very often, but you can read him easily and like to do things to help him when he is stressed, like watching the stars together after he’s worked late nights or reading books from his ever growing library on calm afternoons.
“Y/N , Jaken told me to meet you out here tonight.” Sesshomaru said stoticly before sitting down next to you.
“Yep, the stars looked really beautiful tonight so I thought we could enjoy them.”
“It’s not the only that’s beautiful tonight.” He said while staring into your eyes.
Sesshomaru hates to smile or even laugh around you even though you two have become so close together. However sometimes you manage to make him smile when you least expect it and it usually ends with you being embarrassed.
“Y/N, wake up.” Sesshomaru said softly while waking you early in the morning. He had just gotten back from a trip he had to make across the land and it’s been about a week since you’ve seen him.
“Sesshomaru you’re home!” You say before jumping in his arms.
“Yes. Now what is that?” He said pointing to a doll you had made that looked like him.
“I got lonely while you were gone so-“ you said while blushing and he started to laugh at your expression leaving you speechless.
“Good thing theres no reason to be lonely now.”
Sesshomaru as much as he tries doesn’t have the time to plan dates effectively, so you always make the effort to plan them. However he will do things for you often to make sure you know he cares like giving you your favorite flowers or bringing you gifts he finds while he’s out of the kingdom.
“Sesshomaru, are you free tonight?” You say eagerly.
“Yes. Is there a reason you asked?”
“I found a hot spring near here and wanted to go with you.”
“Fine, be ready by 8 to go.” He said with a small smile that contrasted his stotic words.
Sesshomaru doesn’t want to see you sick or hurt ever. He gets stressed out because he knows if you are sick there’s nothing he can do other than try to make you get better and the fact that you are human and you could die any day kills him on the inside because he can’t imagine his life without you anymore.
“I don’t want anyone coming in this room until she is well. Also don’t let her walk around the castle while I’m not here and especially not outside-“ Sesshomaru dictates to his guards while you are sitting on the bed.
“Honey, I’m fine I don’t even feel sick and it’s just a cold.”

it was pretty windy that night, the stars were hidden behind the dark clouds obscuring the sky.
you were curled up against a-un, that was peacefully sleeping by your side.
you were pretty tired; in fact, you were the only one trying to sleep this early. jaken took rin to a little lake, hidden in the forest, while sesshomaru simply sat by a tree, looking at the sky. you wondered what thoughts were currently passing through his head, he always seemed absorbed into his own world.
he rarely spoke to you and rin, jaken was the only one who usually tried to have a conversation with him. no need to say, every little effort from the imp was useless.
you shivered as the cold breeze hit you, you tried to cover yourself better but your kimono wasn’t enough to protect you from the cold weather.
”y/n,” sesshomaru called your name, you turned your head towards him so quick that you felt a bit dizzy. “sesshomaru-sama?” you noticed that he wasn’t even looking at you. “come closer.”
you looked at him, confused by his words. once he noticed you were lingering, he turned to look directly at you. you shivered again, but for the way his eyes locked to yours. he didn’t seemed angry; was it a look of compassion? you pushed that thought away and quickly got up, reached his side and respectfully kneeled, keeping your gaze low.
one of his hands reached and grabbed your cheek. his hand felt warm against your cold and flushed skin, his thumb grazed your slightly parted lips and noticed that it was trembling. “you should have told me you were getting cold,” he let go of your face and made space between his body and the mokomoko, so you could lay by his side.
you simply stared at the space he made for you, thinking it was some kind of test, to see how you would behave and that stuff. but when you met his gaze you saw none of those intentions, he was inviting you to lay with him indeed.
you moved closer to him and carefully laid by his side, his right arm circled your shoulders and soon you were covered by his fur. you finally found some comfort from the cold. you held back the need to curl up against sesshomaru’s chest and simply closed your eyes.
”sesshomaru-sama?” you murmured after a while, slowly caressing the fur. he didn’t answered, but you knew he was listening because, even if just for a moment, you felt his arm stiffening. “i know what this means to you, i’m sorry for being… like this. i want to thank you, i’m grateful you’re letting me be this close to you and keeping me warm.”
sesshomaru took a moment or two to reply, it was probably one of the first time you actually talked that much with him. you sighed when he finally said, “you should rest, now.”

The old folklore of the east whispers of a terrible power. Wielded by a lone demigod, fated to walk through the eras the dark fires of hell dancing on her fingers. With no regard for human life, she was fated to be feared and worshipped. But fate is a bitch. Now cursed to be stripped of her powers and doomed to mortality she finds herself in the care of a sworn rival. The great Daiyoki of the west.

❧ Home
Kagura's face twisted in a daunting smile, the beautiful fan fluttered, the wind rose and I pushed Rin out of the way.
The child wailed as the entire impact of the vortex slammed into me. I was thrown backwards,
Pulling tuffs of soft earth as i tried to dig my nails into the ground.
Fuck fuck fuck.
I pulled myself back on my feet, heart hammering. I looked up in time to see Kagura’s sneer deepen.  She sent another wave of wind towards me and it scaled, scaled the trees around me. I rolled away in the nick of time, getting away with only a cut on my cheek. On the brighter side she seemed to focus all her energy on me, forgetting Rin. I only hoped the child had the brains to start running.
She flicked her wrist and the fan gleamed morbidly; the impact hit me right in my stomach. I gagged as I was thrown backwards, painfully hard into a tree stump. I blinked stars out of my eyes as I braced myself for what could be the next blow, but something beat her to it. In retrospect, I would have preferred that wind lady over whatever the fuck happened next anytime.
There was a sudden shift in the sky, a cunning entity entirely hidden, now finally revealing itself.
Within moments, the world around me went black. And no, I did not pass out. It was as if I had been pulled inside the mouth of an ancient Deitya Beast. And I would know, because once I was stuck in there for a week- I forced my mind to focus. It wasn’t just some miasma clouding my sight. I was no longer in the forest.
The dark miasma flooded over my senses like a rolling tide. I jerked back, tripping over the hem of my kimono. My ears popped as I crouched lower, covering my ears. I had never felt energy like this, something so vile yet so all encompassing. Like I was facing a churning ocean in all her rage. I forced my eyes open, choking and gasping through the thick poison.
I had to see what abomination of nature held power like that.
“How curious.” The voice said, and my human blood ran cold. The voice had a strange hum, as velvety as a shroud. It came at me from all directions, I spun my head around, what the hell?
“Show yourself coward!” I screamed out.
The reply was a laugh from the pits of hell. Ancient, yet incomplete, a monster that hadn’t stepped into his power yet. I gritted my teeth, the miasma sending pain shooting through my body. I knew I wouldn’t be able to keep up with it much longer.
“But I am right here.”
I froze. The thing sat crouched beside me, warm breath tickling the shell of my ear as he whispered. Panic rose in my chest, how the fuck had I not noticed? He hummed curiously, long fingers brushing against the small of my back. This little fuck-
But I couldn’t move. Not one bit. I opened my mouth, but only an estranged yelp came out. Finally, I felt the things that were holding me down. Long dwindling legs, sprawled along my body, like crawling black legs of a spider. Bile rose up by throat.
“Don’t struggle now demigod, in this body you can’t fight me.”
Demigod. My blood chilled as one of the legs wrapped around my throat tapping my cheek playfully.
“You see, I’m not as dense as the mutt.” He said lovingly, “Even in your human body… I can feel your hell fire.” He breathed out. The spider legs tightened around me, pulling me in an embrace, “I can free you.”
Liar.
My rage bubbled inside me. I will kill him; I will kill him slowly.
“Join me and I can return you to your former glory.” His hands slid up my torso, “Power like the one you hold, is rare, you would hold great power in my ranks.”
I felt sick, I could hardly hear his words over the feeling of his crawling limbs across my body. His hand stopped on my chest, palm pressing against my hammering heart. “Submit to me child of hellfire.” For a heartbeat he paused. Panic like I had never felt before rang in my ears. “It was nice meeting you Y/n.”
His talons dug into my chest. The pain nearly blinded me, as his fingers continued to dig deeper charring through my skin. I tried to fight my very being to gain some sort of control, but I couldn’t fight back. He was just too powerful. He was about to carve me out. Blood gurgled as I spluttered out, I couldn’t do anything.
I closed my eyes in absolute defeat, scouring down within myself trying to grapple on to any shred of power I could conjure. But I couldn’t. There was nothing. Tears streamed down my face as a final broken sob tore out of my throat.
Empty, empty and empty. What a horrible end to a sad story. For the first time since I lost my powers, I stopped fighting.
And the magic exploded.
It wasn’t mine. It couldn’t have been. It was bright, blistering, like I had looked directly at the run. The beam shot through me, pulling a wall of pure sacred power between me and the thing. I was pushed forward, I stumbled on hard ground, falling face first into sand.
Naraku was taken aback by the pain, the light that threw him back was sacred magic, pure yet unyielding. It was impossible for the demigod to hold any magic energy in her human form. It sizzled through his limbs, he retracted them at once, more surprised than hurt. What in the world?
I was… I was smoking, curls of steam rising off my body. There was no way that was my fire, it was something else entirely. Before me Naraku’s eyes narrowed. For the first time I saw the thing that was holding me down. The dark hair, the sharp face and the crimson eyes. The miasma around us flickered again.
This time I actually saw it. A pure ray of white-hot light shooting across between us, putting enough space for me to scurry away as far as I could manage. My body still felt painfully heavy, I tripped over myself again, heels skidding on the soft muck underneath me. The darkness around me thinned and I fell with a sad thud.
“TESSAIGA!”
The attack cut through the wind, slicing through the remaining miasma. Just as quickly as it had appeared, the spider’s miasma disappeared. My chest heaved as I gulped down clear air again. As my eyes adjusted I realized I wasn't in the darkness anymore.
,"Are you alright?" A voice asked as a figure ran towards me helping me to my feet. I groaned in response, my head still ringing, my skin stung where the spider had wrapped it's talons. But the pain on my chest was unbearable. I tried to look at the young man holding me up by my arm, but more splintering pain erupted across my body. I collapsed on the ground again. Eyesight blurring.
"She's bleeding, be careful Miroku." A woman's voice said sharply. The girl set down her bow, as she crouched down beside me, the pain dulled and I tried to focus on her features.
"I'm fine." I mumbled out, pulling my arm free of the man's grip.
"Easy there love, that was a nasty miasma you were caught up in." The man said. I tried to stand up but my legs gave in, I groaned in defeat as the bow girl eased me on the ground.
“Her chest- God, Sango, hand me my bag now.”
“So it was Naraku.” The man said.
Naraku?
“I’d know his rotten scent anywhere.” The boy grumbled. He scratched the back of his head. I tried to look at him, white hair, amber eyes… were those ears on the top of his head?
“we’ll have to clean her wound right away Kagome.” Another voice said, “otherwise the poison from the miasma will infect it beyond help.”
The voices sounded underwater.
Don’t fight the fatigue Y/n.
For once I complied and closed my eyes.
❧ ❧ ❧ ❧ ❧ ❧ ❧
I jerked awake and someone beside me jumped violently.
“Seven hells!”
I had just snapped out of the most peaceful sleep I had gotten in days. I looked around a little bewildered and the girl sat up by my side at once.
“Its okay we won’t hurt you!” The young girl said, putting her hands up in assurance. I stared at her wide brown eyes, wasn’t she the one who bandaged me up? my heart twinged at the thought. Her aura, it reminded me of Wei.
“Try sitting up.” The older woman said gently. I shifted, sitting up. I was expecting blinding pain, but it never came. I was fine. I blinked up at her in surprise and the woman grinned, “Looks like your herbs worked Kagome! You’re getting really good at this.”
The upper part of my kimono was bloody and ripped. The top half fell open as I sat up, showing my chest wrapped securely in bandages. The guy in the monk style clothes pinned his eyes on my breasts and the other woman kicked him hard.
“You’ll be fine now,” she said softly. I could feel the bitter taste of herbs in my mouth. They must have fed me something too. Even after the awful encounter, my body felt well rested. The unbearable pain replaced with a dull throb.
Why daughter of the hills, you keep getting lucky.
I put a hand on the bandages, feeling the soft thump of my petrified yet working heart. I had somehow survived.
“Thankyou.” I told her. More sincerely than I had ever talked to a human. “I owe you my life.”
The girl with the bow blushed, “It’s quite alright. Not a big deal.”
I stared at the quizzical faces before me,
“I know you must have questions,” I started.
The monk dude winked. “We could start with your name~”
“Wei.” I told them, ignoring him.
Lying to the ones who showed you such kindness. You really are a wicked thing.
“And what job does that Naraku have with a lady?” Miroku sang, he slipped his fingers through mine, gazing at me intently, “Tell me little dove, where did you come from?”
“I’m from…” my voice trailed off, I couldn’t risk telling them the truth, “I’m not from here.” I said.
The girl who did my bandages gave me a half smile, “It’s okay, I’m kinda far from home too.”
“My name is Kagome, that’s Sango, Miroku but you can ignore him and that-“ she pointed to the boy I had scared earlier, “Inuyasha! Why are you sulking all the way over there?” she snapped at him.
I scratched my neck. Inuyasha? Why does that name sound familiar now. The half demon looked at me skeptically, “She smells weird, its almost like… urgh forget it.” He said looking away.
“You’re being rude!” Kagome yelled back him. These two seemed to get along.
“Wei,” The other girl with pink makeup… Sango, asked. She sat down beside me, setting her huge weapon aside. “What did Naraku want from you?”
“I don’t know.” I said bitterly, “I don’t even know who he was, I had literally never even heard of him before.” I closed my eyes, head still throbbing.
"I was someplace else before - and then i was in that purple slushy thing- and now I'm… here." I explained. I looked around my surroundings for the first time. From the auburn sky I could tell it was already late evening.
We stood on a levelled hill top. The mountain range was huge, surrounding us in a circle. Against the evening sky they looked like deformed hunchbacks. There wasn’t any greenery on the mountains, just dark, unfertile sand. Everything about this place filled me with a sense of dread.
“Where is this place?” I asked, my voice hollow.
Sango handed me an apple. “The locals just call it Kuroi Yama, the black mountain.”
“It doesn’t have much human settlement, other than a few villages and a bunch of skeletal birds.” Miroku said, he gave me a cheeky smile, “The monks always had morbid stories of this place.”
“We were demon hunting in a nearby village.” Kagome explained. She turned to inuyasha scowling, “When this idiot just ran off mid fight because he smelled ‘something familiar.’”
Inuyasha rolled his eyes, he snapped back at her, but my mind was too busy elsewhere.
I knew the place;
The black sand hills, the same place my great- grandfather burnt down the entire enemy fleet, charring the sands of the mountain a forever ashen grey. Such a strange coincidence, I thought. My clan rarely crossed the eastern sea. We didn’t have any history in the western lands. Nothing except maybe just this one place. I picked up a fistful of the dark sand, letting it fall through my fingers. And the spider had dragged me back here of all places.
How strange.
“Let’s set up camp here for the night.” Sango said. She looked up at the sky as some skeletal birds squawked distantly. “We have had enough of an adventure for the night.”
❧ ❧ ❧ ❧ ❧ ❧ ❧
I curled up against the dried-up tree bark, the evening shadow of its branches eerily similar to the spider’s. Sango had kindly lent me one of her spare clothes. I had just pulled it over my previous kimono like a blanket.
I watched the campfire before me crackle. Behind me Inuyasha’s eyes were pinned on the horizon, as if he was making sense of something beyond him. I continued to stare at the flames, holding back every instinct to just put my fingers through it.
Fire is not your friend anymore Demigod. Play with it and it will sear through you.
“Careful not to burn yourself.”
I looked up. “Oh, Kagome.” I said as the young girl sat down beside me.
She brushed her dark hair over her shoulder, “How are you doing?”
I shuddered, “I… don’t know.” And I truly didn’t.
In my head I counted the remaining nights. 4 more moons. I was foolish to think I would die before the prophecy. The crone would not grant me that mercy, while I was fated to die, I had to die on her terms not the spider’s.
Kagome seemed to consider my answer.
“If Naraku was targeting you that means something.” Kagome said.
I pressed the fear down. Naraku had come after me because he knew I was the demigod. But why would he want me dead? It wasn’t that the FireLords didn’t have any enemies. Half of east would rejoice my death, but what did this spider want?
Inuyasha nodded as he walked over, “He doesn’t just go after small fry. He has minions to do that, the wind lady and that short white-haired kid an-
“The point is,” Kagome cut him off, “Even if you don’t know why, if Naraku wants you dead he will see it through. He’s dangerous.”
She pursed her lips, “Wei, we can’t help you, if you can’t tell us who you are.”
I closed my eyes considering my options. I had no fucking idea where I was. I had no fucking idea if Sesshomaru could even find me here. Or if he wanted to. For now, this odd group had shown me kindness, but I wondered how long that would last. If I told them my real identity, they for sure would forsake me. Who needs a cursed demigod doomed to meet death? But I couldn’t keep lying to them either.
“I’m from the east.” I said finally.
Inuyasha’s eyes widened, “Really?” he asked, “Never met anyone from there before.”
“Yeah.” I replied, “My father… he is related to the firelords of the East.”
“Although human!” I added quickly, “We’re both human, I mean.”
“As for how I got here is-“ I sighed morbidly, “It’s a long treacherous story I won’t bore you with. But right now, I can’t go home. Not like this. So I’m pretty much stuck in the west.”
Kagome put a hand on my shoulder, “What about your mother?”
I opened and closed my mouth.
“I never knew her.” I replied, no longer lying. I hugged my knees to my chest, no one had really asked me about her before. “I have no memories of her.”
Something like sympathy settled in Inuyasha’s eyes, he kicked a small pebble out of his way, “Parents are overrated anyways.” He grumbled out. “You just stick with us.”
I blinked at him, “What?”
There was a ferocity in his amber eyes, I knew in a different situation we would get along well. “Naraku is sure to come after you again, thankfully for you we’re already on his hitlist. What’s one more?”
Something like warmth tickled my insides. “I couldn’t bear to be a burden.”
Kagome’s eyes flickered, “You wouldn’t be.” She told me. “And yes, Inuyasha is right, most of us here don’t have the nicest idea of home, I think you’ll fit in.”
I couldn’t help but peek a smile. “Okay.” But my heart still weighed down. I couldn’t put the picture of Rin’s tear-soaked face as I had pushed her away, screaming at her to run. Maybe it was better for the child to think I was dead. The sinking feeling deepened. What if she didn’t make it back? What if Kagura caught up with her after the spider took me? What if-
Urgh, what was the matter with me? The situation I was in with Sesshomaru was temporary, neither of us wanted to be in it. The human child was bound to die in a couple of centuries any ways. Why should it matter to me so much? It shouldn’t, but it did.
I didn’t want to admit to myself but I was hoping to go back to Rin, quietly hoping that I somehow find my way back. How embarrassing.
I pushed that thought away, “Inuyasha you said that Naraku was after you too, why is that?”
Inuyasha shrugged, “It’s another long story, and it involves far too much fighting… even for me.”
Kagome rolled her eyes, “Do you know anything about the shikon jewel?” she asked me.
I dug into the apple, “you mean the pearl thing that can grant a yokai God like power?”
Inuyasha and Kagome exchanged a glance. “Naraku is hell bent on collecting all of its pieces. If he attacked you, there must be something that connects you to it.”
I stared at Kagome, “You mean to tell me the jewel is real?”
She shook her head, “Unfortunately.”
A heavy silence fell over. I had only ever heard of the jewel in casual talk. Something voyagers and guests from the east would chat about. For me it was an old wives’ tale. What could it possibly have to do with me.
“If what I heard about the jewel is correct… if that spider dude-
“Naraku” inuyasha corrected me under his breath.
“Well, if he gets his hands on it, he’ll-“ I gulped down the thought. The memory of his miasma choking me. It sent violent chills down my spine. He was already too powerful, with the jewel, I doubted if even I with my hellfire could defeat him.
“Which is why we can’t let it happen.” Inuyasha stated. I blinked at the young man before me. Now why did he looks so familiar?
“Dinner’s ready!” Sango’s voice called, the woman appeared with Miroku, each carrying a delicious smelling bowl.
“Here’s yours, Wei” She said, setting one in my hands, “Don’t be shy.”
I stared as the small fire demon ran to me and curled in my lap. Well. As with Ah-Un, fire demons really could sense that I was something more.
“Kirara!” Sango, exclaimed, “He doesn’t usually do that.”
I watched as the group huddled together by the fire. Sango chatted to Miroku animatedly just as Kagome said something and everyone laughed. Kirara purred in my lap. I realized this might be the closest I would be to home. I looked up at the sky sending a thought to the companions i had until now.
❧ ❧ ❧ ❧ ❧ ❧ ❧
Sesshomaru stared at what had become of the forest. Her sword in his hand trembled with rage. The miasma still hung in the air, charred remains of the portal had seared itself into the nearby trees. What in the actual fuck had happened here.
His lips twisted in a scowl as he noticed the blue scrap of her kimono stuck on one of the tree's charred remains. The sword in his hand grew white-hot. Humming with life like a heart outside of its body. With all of his being Sesshomaru just wanted to leave it at that. Throw away the sword and forget about this strange human here and now. He had let her overstay and Rin had gotten too attached.
But something pricked at his soul. The razor sharp grin, the sheer audacity of that wiry mountain girl before him. Like him being a daiyokai didn't faze her one bit. The first time he had seen her, she was half-dead, caked in yokai entrails, but Sesshomaru swore he saw violet-blue hellfire flash in her eyes. How does a human bring anger like that?
He felt himself bare his fangs as he whiffed out the sent of her blood. Human as she may have been she was still under his protection. He was about to tear through the heavens themselves if it meant getting her back.
His eyes shifted to the Yokai sword in his hands, "Lead me to her." he growled out, the ancient markings on the sheath gleamed, blazing so hot smoke curled off of them.
The Daiyokai took that as a yes and kicked off into the sky.

Inuyasha and Sesshomaru stared at one another, the wind blowing their hair and clothing in the wind along with the grass and the trees, they said nothing for a while, sizing each other up. Then, Sesshomaru broke the silence but not the tension. “Inuyasha, you’ve approached me in your human form. How atrocious.” He sneered. Inuyasha scoffed. “Humph, you damn right I did, I heard that you only come to visit Mom when it’s the new moon.” He said in a cocky voice, he was already mentally prepared for Sesshomaru to see him in such a form, so he doesn’t care. Sesshomaru shot back. “And what’s it to you? Last I checked you never even visit the woman, so much for a son.” He fired.
Inuyasha growled at Sesshomaru’s words. “Well I’m here now, and I’m not going anywhere until I get some damn answers, Sesshomaru.” He said, determination in his voice. Sesshomaru stared at him for a moment before he stepped forward, Inuyasha steeled his resolve before he stepped forward as well. They walked towards one another, until they were just a few feet apart. They stared each other down for a moment before Sesshomaru spoke. “You want answers, yet you can’t even answer the fact that you never visited, half-breed.” He shot.
“Humph, I had my reasons for not coming by, but why have you been visiting? She’s got nothing to do with you.” He said in a defensive tone. Sesshomaru huffed in false amusement. “Ha, don’t make me laugh, you barely even know the woman, how can you question my visiting when you didn’t even try.” He said. Inuyasha snarled at him. “Get off my back, I couldn't do anything about that, I was asleep for 50 years, how could I?”
He defended himself, his fist clenching in frustration. Sesshomaru nearly smirked but his face stayed unreadable, he then immediately shot back. “How pathetic.” He said in a disgusted voice. Inuyasha’s eyes widen. “Wh-what?” Inuyasha questioned. Sesshomaru continued on. “You're a disgrace of a man, what kind of a pathetic excuse is that? You’ve been freed by that human woman for quite some time now, you could’ve made an appearance, but you wanted to play ‘pet’ with two human women.” He said in a lecturing tone.
Inuyasha was left speechless, he didn’t know how to defend himself, all he could do was drop his head as he silently cursed himself. Sesshomaru observed him for a moment before his stare seemed to harden slightly. “You dare come out to me, in this pitiful state, and order me to give you answers? Preposterous. You’re a bigger fool than I thought you were, Inuyasha.” He degraded. When Inuyasha never gave an answer, Sesshomaru lost his hard glare and he closed his eyes in a dismissive matter, before he walked forward, stalking past Inuyasha.
He barely got 5 steps past him before Inuyasha called out to him. “WAIT!” He called out. Sesshomaru stopped, his eyes opened, but he never turned towards him. Inuyasha took his pause as his moment to speak. “Instead of lecturing me, can ya just give me an answer to my question?” He asked in an annoyed voice. Sesshomaru stayed silent, and Inuyasha growled, he opened his mouth to complain but Sesshomaru spoke up. “My business with her has nothing to do with you, but ask your pointless question, and if I deem it fit, I’ll give an answer.” He said.
Inuyasha studied his back for a moment before he asked his question. “Why do you come to visit? She told me it was because you wanted answers to Tessaiga, but now you have your answers, so why bother to still come by?” He asked. The silence between them stretched on for a moment, the tension was high, yet it remained suspiciously unreadable, but it wasn’t a good kind of tension.
Sesshomaru suddenly started walking again, seeming to disregard Inuyasha’s question. Inuyasha glared at his brother’s back. “SESSHOMARU!! ANSWER MY DAMN QUESTION!!” He shouted in anger, his fists clench in frustration, he was powerless to beat the answer out of Sesshomaru, so he was just forced to yell, but he was shocked when Sesshomaru’s voice suddenly rang out to him. “You already know the answer, I’m sure she already told you, about our history.” He said as he walked. Inuyasha stared after him in wonderment, thinking over his words.
“I already know? What the hell does that mean?” He asked himself aloud, he refocused on Sesshomaru once more, noticing that he was beginning to vanish into the darkness. “HEY!! COME BACK AND EXPLAIN DAMMNIT!!” He shouted as he gave chase after him. Sesshomaru kept his same pace, it was slow to him, but it was causing Inuyasha to huff in exhaustion. “Wait, dammit Sesshomaru.” He huffed as he leaned against a tree, he silently cursed his human body as he stared at Sesshomaru. Once he got his breath back he gave chase once more.
They kept up this chase for a while, Sesshomaru never sped up, and Inuyasha kept having to stop but he wasn’t stopping as much as he was when the chase began. Eventually, Sesshomaru stopped in a clearing of the woods, the wind blowing his garments and hair back, as he seemed to stare at nothing. Inuyasha huffed, as he entered the clearing with Sesshomaru. He stood there for a moment, a tired glare in his eyes as he stared at Sesshomaru. They stayed in their spots for a moment longer, before Inuyasha walked over towards him.
“Sesshomaru, you’re an ass in a half, ya know that?” He huffed out an insult as he walked next to Sesshomaru, but he kept some distance from him. He glared at Sesshomaru a little longer, before he stared towards where Sesshomaru seemed to be in a trance. His eyes slightly widen when he saw his childhood home. “The hell? Why are we here?” He asked. Sesshomaru’s eyes slightly lowered in annoyance but he remained calm. “Shut up, and watch.” He ordered. Inuyasha looked over at him in question before he looked back at the hut. They watched as they seem you exit the home. You stretched your arms high above your head before you walked outwards from your home.
“It’s mom, what is she doing out here for?” Inuyasha asked as he watched you. Sesshomaru never gave an answer, but instead, he kept on watching so Inuyasha did the same. They watched as you walked into the field until you suddenly crouched. You seemed to be doing something. Inuyasha stared on a little more before he shot Sesshomaru a septic stare. “You’ve been watching her? What are ya, some kind of creep? I would expect this from Miroku, but not from you Sesshomaru.” He accused as he stared at Sesshomaru. Sesshomaru almost rolled his eyes at Inuyasha’s words.
“Be quiet you fool.” He said in an annoyed voice. Inuyasha stared at him questionably before he looked back over toward you. You stood back up, what seemed to be flowers bunched up in your hands, they were beautiful white flowers, that seemed to glow. You then walked back to your hut, once in front of it, you sat down on a little bench, the flowers still in your hands. Inuyasha blinked as he stared on. “What am I supposed to learn, asshat?” He shot in annoyance. Sesshomaru suddenly began to walk forward, never answering Inuyasha’s question.
Inuyasha watched him with a confused stare, before he huffed, placed his hands in his sleeves, and silently followed Sesshomaru. The closer they got, the more they could make out the loving smile on your face. You suddenly looked up, spotting Sesshomaru and surprisingly Inuyasha. You blinked in shock and confusion before your smile grew joyous. Inuyasha stared at your smile, he had never seen that look on your face before. It was joy, but it was more happier than joy.
You scooted over on the bench till you were in the middle of it and you patted both spots on either side of you. “Sesshomaru, Inuyasha. I am so happy that you both came down together to visit me.” You happily said. Inuyasha was confused, he stopped walking when Sesshomaru did. Your smile never left your face, and Sesshomaru spoke up. “You seem to be fairing well, hahaoya.” He said in his usual monotone voice, but his eyes shined fondness. Inuyasha stepped back in shock at Sesshomaru’s words. “Huh!?” He confusingly called. He went unnoticed by you and Sesshomaru.
Your eyes widen at his words. Disbelief on your face from what you heard, your breathing was shaky and your hands shook as they came up to clench together in front of your fluttering heart. “Yes, I have been very well, On.” You shakily said as you smiled. Inuyasha stared dumbfounded at the exchange. Sesshomaru walked towards you, he took a seat next to you on the bench, making you smile at him warmly. You looked over at Inuyasha, seeing his confusion and you chuckled. “Come, come. Sit here, Inuyasha.” You said as you patted the spot next to you. He remained frozen for a moment longer before he came back to his senses.
“What the hell is going on?” He asked in irritation as he glared at you both. You and Sesshomaru stared up at him for a moment in silence before Sesshomaru closed his eyes and you giggled. “HEY!! DON’T IGNORE ME!!” He shouted as his fingers twitched. You stared at him with a sweet stare. “Come and sit, Inuyasha, it’s a joyous night after all.” You said, your voice was cheerful. Inuyasha’s glare left and it was replaced with a shocked face. “But… why?” He asked. Sesshomaru stared up at Inuyasha, an amused gleam in his eyes. “Yes, little brother, come join hahaoya and I.” He teased. You cheer at his words as you wrapped your arms around Sesshomaru’s arm.
Inuyasha glared heatedly at Sesshomaru before he huffed and he pointed an accusing finger at Sesshomaru. “I don’t know what you’re up to, but I’m on to you, Sesshomaru!!” He said in a defensive voice. Sesshomaru turned his face away from Inuyasha, but he remained silent. In his defense, you glare at Inuyasha. “Would you stop and just sit down already!!” You scolded, Inuyasha backed away in slight fear but he grumbled and sat down next to you.
You smiled once more when he finally sat down. You all sat in silence, just… enjoying each other's presence. But it didn’t last long before a slightly stronger wind blew, causing your flowers to be blown from your lap. “OH NO!! MY FLOWERS!!” You shouted in panic as they were blown away by the wind. You were so happy to finally be able to cuddle with Sesshomaru, that you forgot to hold them down. “Oh...” You sighed sadly as they went up into the air. Inuyasha stared on along with Sesshomaru, they watched your flowers blow into sky, watching as they seemed to blend into the starry sky.
Inuyasha spoke up. “Don’t worry, you can always pick more.” He said, trying to comfort your worries over the flowers, but it only seemed to make you sadder as you sank into your seat. “No, they only bloom on the night of the new moon…. And those were the only ones that bloom around here.” You explained as you sighed sadly. Inuyasha stared at you a little longer before he looked up at the flowers that blew away. Your hold onto Sesshomaru’s arm loosen as you placed your hands in your lap, Sesshomaru briefly glanced at you before he looked back up towards the flowers, his gaze narrowed and he stood up.
Both you and Inuyasha looked up at him in question. “Sesshomaru?” You questioned, but he never answered as he suddenly shot off into the air. Both you and Inuyasha stared on in shock and confusion as he flew up toward the flowers. You stared on in wonderment while Inuyasha scoffed and he snatched his head off. “Tch, showoff.” He muttered. Once all the flowers were captured by Sesshomaru, he gracefully floated down, he landed a few feet away from you both.
You stayed seated, and watch patiently as he walked towards you and Inuyasha. He presented the flowers to you, they were in perfect condition, and they seemed to glow even brighter in his hand. Your eyes studied their brightness, and you gave a knowing smile before you grabbed them gently from his hold. “Thank you, Sesshomaru.” You kindly thanked him. He said nothing as he closed his eyes and he quietly took his seat next to you once more.
Inuyasha glared over at him before he looked away and huffed. You smiled down at your flowers, the glow from them seemed to dim before they lightened again. Inuyasha looked over at the flowers in confusion. “Why are they doing that?” He asked. You smiled at his question. “They’re reacting to Sesshomaru’s touch.” You explained, this seemed to catch Sesshomaru’s attention as he too looked at the flowers. “But why? If anything they should’ve shriveled up and died.” He said with an unimpressed look on his face. Sesshomaru scoffed at his words before he asked you a question.
“Why did they react?” He asked, you stared down at the flowers watching their whiteness brighten and fade. “Because they’re reacting to your heart. It would seem that you’re opening up more and more to your Father’s wishes for you.” You explained. Sesshoaru’s and Inuyasha’s eyes widen at your words. You all remained silent after that, watching the flowers pulse. They both seemed to be in a trance, each lost in their own worlds. They suddenly stopped pulsing and Inuyasha blinked. “Why’d they stop?” He asked, he almost sounded disappointed at the fact.
“Because the main source isn’t directing touching them anymore.” You explained. Inuyasha gave a sly look towards Sesshomaru, but his brother seemed to sense him as he turned his face away from him. The silence was broken by you. “These are demon flowers. They’re known as Heiwa Lily, they adsorb overwhelming feelings. Such as Love, Sadness, and Hatred. They only adsorb demonic energy.” You further explained.
They both quietly listened to your words, Sesshomaru’s eyes narrowed slightly. “If they can only adsorb demonic emotions, why do they bloom on the night of the new moon?” Inuyasha asked. You smiled. “Because they don’t want to accidentally absorb the energy of a half-demon.” You explained. Inuyasha looked over at you in curiosity. “Damn, even the damn flowers are picky?” He asked in annoyance as he glared at the flowers.
Sesshomaru huffed in amusement and Inuyasha instantly glared at him. “What’s so funny?” He said. Sesshomaru closed his eyes. “Nothing is humorous, just that even the flowers know when a filthy half-breed is in the area.” He said. A vein bulged on Inuyasha’s fist as he glared at Seshomaru with pure rage. “Why you?” He said in an angered tone. Sesshomaru’s eyes opened and he looked over at Inuyasha. “Got something to say, human?” He asked, a tease in his tune. “You bet I do, and this human is gonna kick your royal ass!!” Inuyasha said in anger as he cracked his knuckles. Sesshomaru grew a challenging glare in his eyes as he stared at Inuyasha. “I’d like to see you get one hit in.” He said.
Inuyasha growled and Sesshomaru glared, you sighed sadly at their antics. “So much for a story.” You sadly said, as the sound of punches landing on skin sounded out and Inuyasha cried out in pain. ‘A-HAOW!!!!” He shouted. Sesshomaru scoffed. “Hmph, pitiful, I barely even grazed you.” He taunted. Inuyasha shouted back. “YEAH RIGHT!!! YOU DAMN NEAR KILLED ME!!” He shouted. Sesshomaru remained silent for a moment before he spoke again. “You’re exaggerating.” He stated. “HAH!?” Inuyasha said. “Hmph, If I had actually tried, I promise you that you wouldn’t still be breathing.” He claimed. “WHY YOU!!!” Inuyasha shouted,
You smiled as you listened to their bantering, the flowers seemed to brighten, soaking in the energy emitting from Sesshomaru. ‘He’s so content, till he doesn’t even notice his demonic energy leaking out.’ You thought as you watched the flowers glow to nearly a blinding white before they began to disintegrate, they turned into purple lights, that floated up into the sky like fireflies. You watched as they floated off into the sky. ‘For the first time, in a long time. Sesshomaru is surrounded by family.’ You thought, as your heart bloomed with love. You sighed happily as you leaned back, causing the brothers to halt in their bantering.
They looked down at you in curiosity, watching you closely. “I’m so happy. Both of my boys are here, together, for the first time ever.” You said in a soft voice, as you smiled. Inuyasha smiled at you while Sesshomaru’s eyes soften. All was quiet after that, as you all three for the first time, just enjoyed each other's company.

The Young Lord's Bride (Part 2)
Part 1
Tahomaru brought you, Sesshomaru, and Jaken up a small hill and across some paths running parallel to a river.
"Some people say this river is haunted, but I don't believe them," Tahomaru said.
You looked to the river. You couldn't sense any demonic presence around it, and as you glanced to your older brother, you could tell that he also sensed nothing.
"All that child does is babble, babble babble," Jaken complained as he rode attached to Sesshomaru's fluff.
"If you continue to babble yourself, I will slay you," Sesshomaru said flatly and moved in such a way to shake his fluff.
Jaken screamed. "I'm sorry, Sesshomaru-sama! Please don't throw me offf and leave me behind!"
You were glad that you were riding on the horse with Tahomaru, as it gave you some distance from the circus of your brother and Jaken that you had to put up with all the time. It made you smirk a little too how Sesshomaru's eyes constantly glared disapprovingly at you for sharing a horse ride with an unfamiliar human boy.
Tahomaru led you to the gates of a large fortress. The guards, recognising him, allowed him entry. Upon hearing that you, Sesshomaru, and Jaken were his guests, the guards did not protest for all of you to pass through the gates, though they did look at you with suspicious eyes. It was no surprise and you were not offended. It wasn't every day that the human guards would see a pair of silver haired demons dressed in elaborate armour and fur. And then there was Jaken ...
"Don't mind them," Tahomaru said as you passed by the guards. He then rode over to the stables to return the horse you two were riding. The stableman also gave an odd look to you, to which Tahomaru raised an eyebrow, as if to say that he had no right to comment on who his guests were.
As Tahomaru handed over the reigns to his horse, Sesshomaru silently came behind you and grabbed your arm.
"We are not here to have fun, y/n," he said in a low voice.
"I know, Aniue. Calm down."
Sesshomaru stared at you, about to say something more, before Tahomaru's perky voice broke the silence.
"Follow me, and we'll have ourselves something good to eat!" He smiled and proudly led you inside.
Tahomaru brought the three of you to large dining area. "Make yourselves comfortable. The staff has already told my father that we have some unexpected guests." He turned around to glance back at Jaken. Not wanting to see the unfamiliar creature in his eyesight for too long, he rose his gaze to you. "Does that little demon normally dine with you and your brother?"
"No," Sesshomaru gave his unsolicited answer on your behalf
Jaken squawked and dropped his jaw.
Tahomaru raised an eyebrow. "I was asking y/n, but thanks."
Sesshomaru glared at him.
Tahomaru turned back to you. "Well, I guess it can't be helped. We'll have to dine with your little companion. I don't really want to ask any of the guards to babysit it, so it's probably best to keep it around and let your brother tend to it."
You smiled a little. "That sounds good."
Sesshomaru hummed disapprovingly under his breath. It was getting more and more difficult for him to keep his tongue at bay. However, at least Jaken was remaining silent, which was a miraculous feat onto itself.
All of you sat down at the table, Tahomaru assigning the seating positions. He wanted you beside him and Sesshomaru by the edge of the table next to a corner, so that the Demon Lord could keep an eye on Jaken, who was to remain more or less unseen and unheard at the corner. Sesshomaru was obviously very displeased with the placement and kept a sharp stare towards you that was basically saying "you will pay for this" in the gleam of his eyes.
Before you knew it, various servants came in to fill the table with food. Per your request, there was plenty of raw meat, as well as other cooked options and vegetable-based options that Tahomaru reminded you that you could try if you wanted to. He added with a laugh that he really liked food and could give some recommendations, and proceeded to talk about the farms that the stir-fried vegetables came from.
"You wouldn't believe it, y/n, but before I was born, we never had the vegetable harvests that we do today," Tahomaru ranted on. "Our land used to flood all the time and we suffered from major crop deaths --"
The door to the dining room slid open. Sesshomaru's gaze shot out of the corners of his eyes in the direction of the entrance.
"But my father, Daigo Kagemitsu, changed everything and saved the land --" Tahomaru continued proudly.
"Tahomaru, are you already bragging about that story?" the voice of Tahomaru's father asked from the door. He smirked a little, obviously enjoying the praise he was getting even though he socially had to pretend that it was unnecessary.
Sesshomaru's eyes narrowed very slightly at the sight of the middle-aged man. There was something not right about his aura. It wasn't demonic, but it also wasn't that of a typical human. Sesshomaru didn't know "what" he could call him, and that made him frustrated.
Tahomaru snickered a little. "I'm not really bragging, Chichiue. I'm just trying to tell our guests the truth." He proceeded to introduce you and Sesshomaru to his father.
Daigo Kagemitsu seemed to catch on to Sesshomaru's suspicious eye towards him. His face hardened very slightly before he sat down. "I must say, I've never found myself dining with demons before."
"They're not like those demons that cause trouble," Tahomaru said. "They're different, more elegant kinds of demons --"
"Don't rant so much, Tahomaru," Daigo said. His sharp, dark eyes looked towards you and then to Sesshomaru. "There's no need to be wearing armour. No battles are about to happen here."
"It's what I always wear," Sesshomaru said cooly.
Daigo straightened his shoulders some. "Very well. It's your decision," he said, taking one last look at you before he began to eat.

Sesshomaru x GN! S/O – Family time
~~~*~~~~
The water kicked up from the stream, following your foot as you splash the young girl in front of you. A series of giggles and laughs escaped her as she tried to splash you back, but her arms were not long nor strong enough to make one which would soak you like yours did her. Barefooted, you both ran through the flowing waters, chasing after one another until someone got tired and splashed. When Rin released there was only one real way to get you as wet as her, she pulled in the imp to help before jumping on your back. Jaken would never admit it, but he enjoyed playing with you and the young girl, though his attitude would tell different. As you both splashed and played, nearby sat the group’s leader under a tree being shaded by the crinkling leaves which swayed in the wind.
Knowing better than to voice your thoughts, as the demon could hear you a mild away. You motioned your place at the other two. Rin covered her mouth to stop the approving giggle whilst Jakan’s mouth hung open as he shook his head violently. But, it was two against one and you began chasing Rin who lined herself in the right place for the right moment, before moving so you could send a splash towards the beautiful demon. With a grin you blinked only to suddenly be confused as the demon was no longer where he was and the grass that was below him was now empty and wet. A small gasp made your eyes go wide as you looked over your shoulder. Sesshomaru stood tall behind you, a static expression as he stared down at you. You shrugged cutely at him, playing innocent.
Crawling out of the stream, you choked up some water as you began to laugh. You hadn’t expected your demon lord to literally throw you down the river, but he did. The crunching of grass made you turned your head. Watching as Sesshomaru walked out of the water, you marveled at how casual he flipped his hair back and kept his eyes closed as if nothing at all happened. Like he didn’t join in the game and splashed Rin or nearly drowned Jaken. No, he would just act as if nothing had happened. Yet you knew he had fun, otherwise, none of you would be alive…well, that was a lie. You would all be fine but maybe Jaken would have been held underwater longer for not stopping you and Rin.
Sesshomaru took a spot under a new tree and you got to your feet. Feeling a bit chilly, you went to his side and sat to his left, next to his warm flowing fur. You did not ask as you lifted the warm fluff and wrapped it around yourself, why should you? Sesshomaru is your mate, and this little act was one he allowed you to indulge yourself on. When a clawed hand rested on your head, you could feel his fingers begin to untangle the knots in your hair. How you enjoyed his warm, gentle touch as he worked, a small form of grooming. Rin must have noticed Sesshomaru’s good mood as she came running and with his other free hand, Sesshomaru silently began working on her knots as she picked the weeds which surrounded her to make a crown.
Noticing Jaken’s longing gaze from afar, you rolled your eyes and smiled. Patting your lap, Jaken grumbled as he walked over. He might not of had hair, but leaning on the same tree and being near you three was enough to make him happy. Smiling wider, you snuggled more into the fur. This earned you a disapproving grunt as it made Sesshomaru’s work a little harder, but with a few turns of the head, he was back to being pleased.
Sometimes you wondered how you ended up with such a misfit family. Most of the time you were grateful. Somedays, you find yourself thankful that you picked up a sword to defend the child, other days you were more grateful for Sesshomaru loving you as who you were and not what he wanted you to be; as you being you was all he needed.
“Papa.” Rin called as she looked up at him. You leaned forward to better listen to her request as well.
“Will you take us with you this time? You were gone for a long time and we miss you.” Rin’s adorable expression when your chest ache. You would give that girl the world if you could.
Amber eyes travelled to you before the demon spoke softly. “Is this true?”
Looking away, you tried not to seem excited about the idea of another adventure. “Kaede is always wonderful to us, making sure we are busy and cared for until you return. And don’t misunderstand. We know it is important for you to go on long journeys but….” You sighed. “I do miss being along side you. Rin and I have been getting survival tips and training from Kohaku and Sango!”
Rin turned and put her hands on his nearest knee. “And Lady Kagome has been showing us simple charms!”
Now it was your turn to place a gentle hand on his own. “I’ve been practicing sword play with Inuyasha! We can watch out for ourselves.”
“They have been working really hard Lord Sesshomaru-NOT LIKE I WOULD KNOW!” Jaken gave himself up rather easily.
Withdrawing his hand from yours, the demon closed his eyes and placed his hand on your head. “We will discuss this tomorrow. Until then, let us be as we are.”
Rin grinned. “Yes!” She placed her weedy crown on his head and he did not move to reject it. “It’s our day!”
Warmth sprang through your body from where his hand was placed. You would all be taking a journey, you just knew it. “Yes, let’s enjoy today.”
You aren’t sure how you became part of this misfit family, but you sure wouldn’t trade it for the world.
~~~~~*~~~~~~
I hope you enjoyed this! Have a great day and week!

An Old Friend (Sesshomaru x Female Reader)
Tumblr media
It’s a small world out there. You could be walking on the trails to a village you’ve never been to, passing by an old neighbor you had when you were a kid.
In this case, it’s during a fight when a familiar friend pops by to help.
“Thanks again, Sesshomaru.” I bow to my old friend.
The full-blooded demon nods. “Are you alright?”
I smile at his kindness. “I am. I’m not a human, remember?” Sesshomaru gives me one of his rare smiles, a low rumble coming from his chest as he chuckles lightly. I do what I usually do when running into him. Walking along side him on his usual journey.
A long time ago, I was once human. My village was known for worshipping demons and doing rituals to turn humans into demons. As unsettling as it sounds, I happened to be the first victim for a promising success.
During the time, I was the only person that didn’t like what the village was doing. Of course, I had to keep quiet about my feelings.
My village was one that nobody visited. Once you’re born there, you can never leave.
Before my time for the ritual, I met a certain demon on one of my many escapes out of the village. It wasn’t really an escape, but a calming moment for me away from the village. I was only a kid back then, admiring the demon before me from the stories I have been told.
“Are you scared of me?” He asked a younger me.
I shook my head, smiling at the tall demon. “I was taught to admire demons.” I told him.
Since then, he was intrigued. I didn’t know why he never attacked me, killed me, or whatever else I have been told demons would do to humans. Instead, I would meet him in the forest every other day. He didn’t talk much, but here and there he asked me questions about my people.
At one point, the time of my ritual slipped out. I remember seeing his eyes widen just a little bit, a frown on his face.
After that day, I never saw him again. I was saddened by his disappearance. He was my only friend.
On the day of my ritual, it turned out to be an unsuccessful one. I remember the pain I was in, screaming in agony the whole time.
I passed out from the pain, but woke up in Sesshomaru’s arms. He told me I needed demon blood, and gave me some of his. Dead bodies surrounded us, and I never felt remorse for the people of my village. Not after what they’ve done to me and many others. Since then, Sesshomaru has taken care of me. Taught me how to fight and many other things.
It’s been so long that I’m on my own now, running into him from time to time. As a demon myself, he was like a master to me. But also a friend.
On our walk, we run into A-Un and a couple other members. Jaken and a little girl.
“Lady (Y/N)!” Jaken calls out, bowing to me for respect.
“Jaken. It’s been a while.” I nod, acknowledging him. Behind him, I see the little girl hiding. A human girl? Never have I expected Sesshomaru to have a human girl at his side. It wasn’t as surprising, since he was my friend when I was human, even now that I’m demon, but for a long time he has hated humans.
“And who is this?” I ignore the many questions I had for Sesshomaru, focusing on the girl. I smile at her, hoping it would help her relax more around me.
She walks out from behind Jaken. “I’m Rin.”
“It’s good to meet you, Rin.”
