It feels utterly criminal that I've waited over a year since first drawing/coming up with her before even posting anything of her and now I'm dumping it all at once! 😭

This is Jayce's drider ex, Leticia, an aerial dancer, who he first met going to a club with his tracker buddies to celebrate his big untrackable find. Wanting to look cool with them, but immediately falls in love instead lmao. She was not convinced his feelings were genuine for a while at first, due to either fetishized or teased for being half spider (even with being an empath herself), but he was adamant about having his feelings known and she eventually caved to his affections and they were together for several years...

Eventually she was wanting to settle down and didn't like how dangerous his job was as a tracker and things got a bit rough towards the end. He didn't want to stop tracking, but he promised her one last mission where he might not need to anymore if he could find and open the coffer and release ancient magic for the world again, something that would benefit everyone! She thought he had ideals of grandeur too high to achieve and she went to stay with her folks for a bit, and then...

Jayce went missing for 5 years... She assumed eventually that he had passed and had to move on herself. She met someone else and started a family and has her second child on the way when Jayce finally returns again, far too late to try and fix things. She still cares for him a lot, but has moved on, while it's still fairly fresh in Jayce's mind as he was in stasis most of that time missing. They both wish each other happiness, but it still hurts...

I wonder what came to be of Snow's granddaughter. We don't know much about Snow's children, but it's highly possible that they would go into hiding or at least keep a low profile, or maybe they would be charged for some crimes (again, there isn't enough information about them). But what about the girl?

I like the idea of Tigris somehow reaching out after the revolution, feeling protective of her. She would help her understand more about their family's past and ensure she was better than them. And after that, who knows? Maybe she moves to one of the Districts (if they still exist as we have known them) and lives far away from the Snow legacy.

And then I got carried away and started to imagine a story about Katniss' daughter and Snow's great-granddaughter meeting each other as teens/young adults. Because drama.

Holy shit am I glad this is done. This thing took days.

Anyway years ago I made a drawing called Ode to Broadway featuring a bunch of musicals I love and I decided to redo it, this time drawn digitally and with more musicals added in (I also changed the name to Ode to Musicals because not all of these have stage adaptations).

The musicals featured here are: The Sound of Music, Singin' in the Rain, The Lion King, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, Annie, La La Land, Hairspray, Cabaret, Chicago, Grease, The Wizard of Oz, Hamilton, Cats, The Producers, The Greatest Showman, The Music Man, Moulin Rouge, Fiddler on the Roof, Sweeney Todd, West Side Story and Little Shop of Horrors.

Now when I got to West Side Story I had a dilemma: do I do the original film or the remake? Because amazingly, Steven Spielberg did something unbelievable: made a remake to an already perfect classic film and said remake was also absolute perfection. Nonetheless I decided to go with the original.

Two musicals I wanted to include but didn't are Rent and In the Heights just because I couldn't think of a way to fit them in.

Also I didn't want to add any animated musicals in, so that's why there's nothing from Disney for example (except for the Broadway adaptation of The Lion King, of course).

I also didn't want actors to appear twice in this, which is why Mary Poppins isn't here even though I would've loved to add it because I already have Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music here. Same reason I only chose one of Jacques Demy's musicals, because Catherine Deneuve also stars in The Young Girls of Rochefort and Donkey Skin.

not to have coincidentally now seen moulin rouge twice—with jamie muscato in da west end & derek beloved klena in nyc my love—but like. truly… derek sweeps. he does. he’s not an aaron backup like in the least holy shit

jamie was also rly good but i think i prefer christian as more naive and idealistic and jamie is more. desperate which was cool too tbh

derek does this thing as christian where he gives this small disarming chuckle whenever he talks to satine abt love and his beliefs and ideals. and it’s kind of jus an endearing character quirk derek does when he’s saying something he believes in (he believes in positive things so he smiles and laughs about them…<3) until. until like.

until satine renounces him in front of the duke and he just. giggles in disbelief. in disbelief. and then he’s cradling her body as she’s saying her last words and he’s shaking his head and smiling because it’s a cruel joke yk. horribly funny. despicably. like. ugh the contrast! his belief and the eventual breaking down of himself and those beliefs by twisting the same mannerism…. oh mhm. yeah man.

What is & Juliet about? I've seen stuff about it a lot recently :)

OMG OK OK

So it's the story of Romeo and Juliet only Juliet doesn't off herself. She takes a bit to cry (singing baby one more time by Britney Spears MY BELOVED) and it's a wild ride where Shakespeare and his wife are also fighting over how the story should go, his wife wants more freedom for Juliet while Shakespeare wishes to keep things more traditional (they sing i want it that way it's great). So basically Juliet, her bestie May, and Shakespeare's wife who's name inside Romeo and Juliet is April and I believe her name outside is Anne but they all go to France and they meet this silly little goober at a party (they're all over 21 in this bcs Anne said so I love her sm) and Juliet is like "oh pretty guy" and May (who's nonbinary and I love them) is also like "oh pretty guy" and Frankie (pretty guy) is like "aw fuck... the nb is kinda cute" but Juliet kisses him so ✨drama✨and because it's romeo and juliet juliet and Frankie are gonna get married because I guess that's how relationships work

BUT

ROMEO IS ALIVE???? Yeah so shakespeare said fuck this and brought Romeo back to life (HE SINGS IT'S MY LIFE AND IT'S SO GOOD DFOUHEWORHOWUHROEWU) and he tells Juliet he still loves her but she's engaged (it's been 2 days max btw) and so now there's shit going on with them and also Frankie and May and Frankie and his Dad have a whole thing with him liking not girls and everything goes to shit at the wedding because Shakespeare is trying to bring the band back together (aka him, may, romeo, frankie, and the dad, they were a family group and the first 3 are hiding themselves as family it's a whole thing) and they sing at the wedding and it's great THE BOYS BANDS BACK ALRIGHT and shit hits the fan when Juliet says "yknow what fuck this I DON'T WANNA GET MARRIED" because she's stronger than yesterday now there's nothing but her way her loneliness aint killing her no more because she's STRONGERRRRR THAN SHE EVER THOUGHT THAT SHE COULD BE ive gotta stop singing

Basically at the end, May and Frankie get together, Shakespeare and Anne sort things out, and Romeo and Juliet begin a new chapter of their lives, where they date instead of saying "i'm marrying you" instantly

this is a horrible synopsis
