Phantom: aka the soul eater. Basically sonic friendly (ish) Dracula, he needs to eat life force to continue to exist, is usually dormant for a while until his hunger becomes unbearable.

He used to just be a normal bat, son of well respected Count. His family (on his mother's side) was gifted with the affinity for magics and alchemy. They mostly used their powers to help their people and were well loved. That is ofc until a sickness passed over their lands and all their magic and medicine could do was simply provide temporary relief, and even then there's only so many two bats can do. And so the people turned on them. Phantom was out searching for the root of the problem, unsuccessful he returned to find his home in flames. His mother,father and younger siblings inside.

As you can imagine it filled Phantom with rage, bc how ungrateful could these people be after years of nothing but kindness? With his heart wrecked with grief and anger, he turned towards forbidden practices which gave him contact with the unatural Soul relm,turning him into what he is now. With his new power, he basically laid waste to most of the town, and when back to his home to grieve. And after using so much of his energy he went to hibernate, slowly becoming folklore as the town rebuilt itself. When he first woke it was to his horror that he was starving and no matter what tried only one thing satiated him...life itself.

Extra tid-bits:

His lil ghost servants are from the Soul Relm, they sort of just decided they would serve him and he couldn't get rid of them.

He can't exactly tell you what the Soul Relm is, other than its thr next stage of existence and some times it speaks to him. It's how he first figured out how the whole soul vampire thing works.

It's been so long that his and his family's name has been lost to time as well as too him....especially since well they were burnt. All he can do is have brief glimpses in his memory.
