it's actually been leaked for some time, although — and not to sound whiny — any time i've posted it or just talked about it i've gotten 10+ anonymous messages telling me i'm the devil and ruining the establishment of taskmaster with my irresponsible gossiping. so i didn't post about it and deleted any of the asks/convo about the new cast, even though ofc everyone has had tonsss of thoughts about it 😅
anyways would have laid down my whole life betting john robins (one of THE most obvious future tm contestants, being such a good friend of alex's!) and joanne mcnally would be on so i feel very vindicated — and excited! — in that regard! we're gonna have a great time :)
someone sent an anon asking about people i'd bet — not who i want, but who i'd bet — would be on the show so i'll think more about that and post later this week! the series will def have more seasons so i'll try and get some guesses in heh
Tumblr media
OMG ME TOO her name is mabel! she's sooooooo cute ≧◡≦
Tumblr media
hello anon!! actually you don't need me for this, it was recently posted on tv_bunny :)
enjoy!
Tumblr media
she's great! she reminds me a lot of roisin, in that when she's not doing her semi-pre-written joke material, she's supremely good at hanging, bantering, fitting in with the vibe. i really appreciate that when it comes to panel shows particularly! but i can't say i've seen much of her standup
(wait — can i digress for a second — roisin is one of the ONLY recurring catsdown contestants who actually brings in sensible mascots that have the purpose of helping her/bringing her luck, and her presentations of them are always so hilarious and she deserves more credit for that)
+ not important but i really like her voice
Tumblr media
thank you for sending her well wishes <3
i appreciate the message and you weren't the only person to say this, but i think some people are only part-way informed as to her journey reclaiming her name. her intention was never to scrap the nickname shappi or stop people from calling her that; it was 1) to reconcile her experience growing up in the uk with her name and how that led to her committing to shappi as a teen, and 2) to be published, credited, and billed as shaparak in professional capacities. she has clarified many times, including here and here, that it is totally acceptable to call her shappi; people on tv & radio still call her shappi after formal introductions, like in the new wilty when everyone calls her shappi throughout the entire episode; her social media handles are still shappi; and so on. she's shaparak, but that doesn't mean she "no longer goes by shappi". there is some confusion here i think some people are taking her journey, which was lovely to follow, as rejecting shappi — but that isn't the case.
i already updated her tag to 'shaparak khorsandi' a while ago and would definitely credit her full name where necessary, but socially, colloquially, like in the quick text post i made asking people to give shappi some love, there is no disrespect in calling her that! of course, plenty of people are credited by one name and are regularly called another/a nickname, like olivia colman who is actually called sarah by her family and colly by most everyone else. she seems really happy with having done her book and her recent show under her full name, and it's been beautiful to see her come around to love shaparak as much as she has loved shappi :')
btw for anyone who doesn't know, shaparak means butterfly in farsi!
Tumblr media
hahahahaha that is hilarious
long story short is just that keith lemon is a disreputable character (and i mean character literally, he's not real, he's played by leigh francis!) who spends a lot of his energy shouting and oogling over boobies etc
Tumblr media
i think it's fair to say hating on white supremacists does bring us all together 😅
Tumblr media
i'm sorry i haven't seen it! but ugh tamsin greig is one of my longest-time crushes fr i actually think the friendship between her and stephen mangan is one of my roman empires. i have a list of scripted tv rewatches i plan to do this year — the thick of it, peep show, and so on, some of my faves ever — and green wing is def on the list so maybe i'll add friday night dinner!

Hi....If you don't mind, can I ask, what are your top 10 (or top 7) favorite media (can be books/ manga/ anime/movies/tv series)? Why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before......Thanks....
Ooo this is a good question but a difficult one to answer but I'm gonna do my best!
Also these are in no particular order cause I just can't rank them
1. Smoke and Mirrors by Neil Gaiman
It's a collection of short stories that I first read as a teenager. It created my love for short stories as a genre and how wonderfully weird they can be. More importantly though the story Changes was the first hint to me that gender wasnt a fixed binary. I read it over and over again on the floor of my bedroom and cried and didn't yet know why. It became incredibly important to me.
2. The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien (both books and the Peter Jackson films)
It's a story about hope in the face of despair and fighting in even when that glimmer of hope has faded. Because at least you can say you tried. At least you did not go quietly into that goodnight. It's a story about found family and companionship and compassion. And god knows I need that
3. Scum Villian's Self Saving System by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu
It's in many ways very shit posty and funny and not for everyone but it's at it's heart a story about the cycle of abuse, of the need to communicate with the people in your life fully and honestly, and love. It's about stopping and listening and opening up your heart. It's also funny as hell and the main character is infuriating and the most queerphobic queer protagonist ever so your milage may vary
4. Kubo Won't Let Me Be Invisible (both manga and anime)
This is my soft comfort pick. It's such a soft story about highschool romance between two characters who take a long time to even realise their feelings. But it's also a story about a boy who has been extremely isolated and alone his whole life being pulled into the world. It's about friendship and kindness and the importance of connections with others as much as it's about the romance. It's extremely cute too and it's my current go to media when I'm feeling sad. The anime only just started so there is only 5 episodes out atm
5. Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman (Book)
This is one of the most read books in the house. I fell in love with it as a kid and it's still one of my favourites. It's exciting and funny and an examination in a lot of ways on what it is to be human. It's also in a lot of ways a coming of age story as one of the main characters is a boy who is on the cusp of being a teenager. I love it but there are some bits that are products of the time that it was written and also if you want more of our Demon and Angel duo who carry the story then you might prefer...
6. Good Omens the TV show
It's got everything I love about the book but updated to more modern times. Also more development of Crowley and Aziraphale (the demon and angel) and their relationship. It's very true to the book and what's changed is still fitting to the original. Also reminded me in feel of the first Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy TV show. Which in my opinion is a plus
7. Taskmaster - TV show OG British version
British show where comedians do silly tasks. There are 14 seasons out and it's just very silly and fun and endlessly entertaining
8. Mashle: Magic and Muscles - manga
In a world where everyone has magic one boy doesn't. But he is swole as hell.
There are a lot of reasons I love it but I think I can capture the main reason why with one image:
Tumblr media
9. Yuri on Ice - anime
I love it one because I was there when we all realised this was canonically gay and lost our collective shit. I love it because the relationship between Victor and Yuuri felt very authentic and genuine. I love it because the antagonist was Yuuri's own anxiety/insecurities. And it still has one of the best twists I've ever seen in media. Also the music is amazing
10. The Goonies
This movie was a staple of my childhood and is still my biggest comfort media. It's silly and weird but it is like an old soft blanket that I wrap around myself when down
Hope that answers your question! This was fun to do :)

Phase 4 Is Almost Over And Contrary To My Initial Line Of Thought I Did End Up Watching All Of Them Somehow So Now You Get To Hear About It
I'll be talking about both the movies AND the series in order of release under the cut, the TL;DR for me is,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I don't know why everyone cares so much about if it was Good or Bad.
That might seem dumb to say on a Rating Post but I'll get to it.
WandaVision (1/15/2021)-- 9/10
I think the MCU has definitely had it's bobbles handling Wanda (even in this show) but this one actually really hit home for me. The fall/winter leading up to this show, I was actually in a pretty deeply depressive episode-- hardly able to leave my bed outside of class or speak to anyone around me in person, so even though I wasn't exactly feeling grief like Wanda was, I found her emotional arc of wanting to be In Control And Happy to at least be relatable. I do think the Agatha twist could have been handled better as far as writing goes, but I think that's mostly a flaw of the MCU formula (which you'll hear a lot in this post). I also don't think the Evan Peters of it all was anything to get that mad about, and people who were and are STILL mad about it can Submit Their Complaints To My Ask Box.
Also the final Scarlet Witch costume slapped I loved it.
Tumblr media
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier (3/19/2021)-- 7.75/10
I can't really speak to the way everything in this show was handled, given that I am white as snow, but overall, there was a lot I really liked about this one. The writing and performance for Isaiah Bradley as acted by Carl Lumbly was so intense and probably my favorite part of the show overall. My main gripe is really the handling of the Flag Smashers and the need to have Walker saving people in the final fight. I think Walker was well past the point of getting the audience on his side For One Last Go by then, and the Flag Smashers were just...so, so horribly whacked out of line with their prior depiction by the end. It just wasn't congruent.
Tumblr media
Speaking of incongruent....
Loki Season 1 (6/9/2021)-- 6.5/10
I really wanted to enjoy Loki. Like I really did. But sitting on it for a year and a half and rewatching it, I think it was just TOO inconsistent episode to episode. There are individual MOMENTS and individual EPISODES even that I think are very good on the whole, but I think it's too obvious when different writers are taking on different characters (Mobius especially). It was a pleasant surprise to see Jonathan Majors, though, and I don't think I hated the finale as much as some other people did. I just think WandaVision did a good job deconstructing Wanda, and TFATWS did a good job deconstructing Sam's relationship to the Shield, but Loki just didn't really have a grasp on Loki as a character for me.
Tumblr media
Black Widow (7/9/2021)-- 7/10
This movie should have been in Phase 3. Also stan Florence Pugh. That's about it.
Also if you hate what they did with Taskmaster, that's fine but it's not that deep.
Tumblr media
What If...? (8/11/2021)-- 4.5/5
What If had some really good episodes, like Star-Lord T'Challa & Stark Saved By Kilmonger. But it also had The Zombies Episode and Captain Carter and Whatever The Fuck That Finale Was. It's more inconsistency and connecting it for the sake of connecting it and not really stopping to PLAY in the worlds they created, which was a shame, and then when they did it was,,,,,,,,,,REAL hit or miss. Mostly miss.
Tumblr media
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (9/3/2021)-- 8/10
Delicious finally some good fucking food. First, kissing Simu Liu on the mouth because he's SUCH a great leading man. Second, it felt JUST disconnected enough from the MCU while still having the canon references to feel fresh. It was still very much In-Tone with the MCU as far as humor went, but the actors really carried this to something special-- Simu, Michelle Yeoh, TONY LEUNG????? icon. Even places where the narrative was weaker were WELL compensated by the actors, enough to make me eager to see the next installment.
Tumblr media
Eternals (11/5/2021)-- 7/10
Do I think the cast was too large, in the end? Yes. But Eternals was still so...austere in a way the MCU normally is not. It was a very different kind of movie, formulaically. Sure, Big Gray Monster, but it was very much not front and center. Centering it on Sersi and taking advantage of Gemma Chan's Pure Power was great, and I loved how the dynamics between the characters drove the story.
Also, stan Phastos.
Tumblr media
Hawkeye (11/24/2021)-- 6/10
I would have probably enjoyed it more if Clint's character buildup wasn't so little and far apart in other MCU movies. It felt like I was SUPPOSED to be relating to this old friend's struggle with grief, but it just Did Not Hit.
I was mostly here for Vera Farmiga. Real Girlies Know.
Tumblr media
o i'm about to catch heat for this next one
Spider-Man: No Way Home (12/17/2021)-- 5/10
.......................No Way Home wasn't actually that good. I mean, it DOES go back and fix all my gripes with MCU Peter Parker and Zendaya sells as always and it was fun to see the old cast back. But uh. Into The Spiderverse did the multiverse thing to better effect, I think. The Audible Pause To Clap for Andrew Garfield's appearance,,,,we'll get to her later. Ultimately, I think Tom Holland is the weakest of the three Spider-Men of recent memory and it shows ESPECIALLY next to Andrew Garfield and without the background of having seen the other Spider-Man franchise incarnations, it's all that much weaker because you don't have the emotional context the film hinges on. It's fanservice for fanservice's sake. And we'll circle back to that. Also how dare you drag Matthew Catholic Sadboy Murdock into this.
Tumblr media
Moon Knight (3/30/2022)-- 6.5/10
I hope Oscar Isaac and May Calamawy have gotten excellent treatment for carrying this show on their backs. I don't think Harrow (had to Google the character's name ffs) was strong enough to get by on Malevolent Pacifism alone, and it did just kind of Unravel at the end with the Unnecessary Big Fight & the show kind of just Stopping rather than Ending. Also, did not think it was necessary to TEASE Jake Lockley if he was just going to be in the post-credit scene. I would have rather they not bring him up at all rather than having hints so MASSIVE.
Tumblr media
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (5/6/2022)-- 3/10
When I left the theater for this movie, I didn't actually think I could hate it more than I did when it was over. Then I watched the Assembled on it. And I realized no, the depths of my hatred DO go deeper. I don't know what's worse-- the struggle of having to choose between the Wanda of WandaVision and the Wanda of the Non-D+ Series MCU and somehow choosing neither, leaving GAPING-WIDE plot holes for the sake of "having the coolest villain in the MCU instead of leaving it for the team of another Avengers movie" (Michael Waldron my detested), whatever the fuck the Illuminati was supposed to be, or bringing back Sam Raimi, who I think genuinely tried to direct something visually his own and artful, only to have him bogged down by Marvel's own capitalistic editing and filming practices. The pauses to clap for the Illuminati. How presumptuous and prideful do you have to be to include space for the audience to clap for your cameos? And I haven't even TALKED about Stephen yet, because there's almost nothing to say except it is a SECOND movie where he is implied to have to face consequences for his choices, only for none to appear because the Wider Canon demands he be fine. It is EVERYTHING the MCU is at its worst.
Not you Bruce Campbell, though, you're doing great.
Tumblr media
Ms. Marvel (6/8/2022)-- 8/10
I think the reason Ms. Marvel ranks this well for me is not just the AMAZING attention to detail and authenticity of the creative team and Iman Vellani, but because Kamala Khan in the comics debuted when I myself was an insecure teenager writing fanfiction about my favorite superheroes and trying to survive school. I have a nostalgia for her character specifically that might bias me a little toward her show, but there was something so deeply authentic and warm about Iman's performance that I couldn't help being giddy to see her in every scene, despite the power changes and all the little things that would normally give me gripes.
Tumblr media
Thor: Love and Thunder (7/8/2022)-- 5/10
You know that thing you do where you have two foods you really love, like, individually. Like how I like caramel and i like crawfish, which are two things that are great on their own. And then you do that thing where you go "what if I put those two things I like together!" And suddenly you're eating caramel and crawfish together and you wish you hadn't done that?
That's Love & Thunder and that's pretty much the sum of my feelings on it, if I'm honest. Like, I'm a fan of Taika's work and I like the two threads he did here separately, but not together.
Tumblr media
She-Hulk: Attorney At Law (8/18/2022)-- 6.5/10
I could talk at length about this show and good-faith criticism and bad-faith criticism and how one can unintentionally legitimize the other, but I think to be succinct I can sum it up here by saying while I had fun, I think the show, despite the efforts of the female-centered & staffed writing room, fell into a lot of traps, like putting a lot of focus on Jen's dating life. To me that was the biggest mistake. Dating can be a very large part of people's lives, but in the show it did feel like the dating parts outweighed the legal parts, which was a shame because this show had SUCH a great cast of actors playing the other lawyers. Tatiana Maslany was great in the role, but I don't think the writing necessarily always held up to the acting, nor did the lampshading of it at the end in that VERY APPROPRIATE AND KIND OF FUN fourth wall break make up for including it in the first place.
Also Augustus Pugliese you have my heart new favorite side character unlocked.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Werewolf By Night (10/14/2022)-- 10/10
Tumblr media
Jack Russell you are my new best friend I love spooky things I love that it was self contained I love EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS. No notes. Well done. Blade next.
In Conclusion-- 6.23/10
I think, at this point, I don't really care if MCU Secretly Bad or MCU Actually Good. I think if anything, this phase points to the overall problem for Marvel being that, for the most part, they're feeding us the same thing over and over again. To me, the projects that stuck out the most here were the ones that tried something different. WandaVision experimented with TV tropes. Werewolf By Night was a Hammer horror special.
The ones that scored lowest, however, were either full of shiny but empty distractions or just more of the same.
It's not better than before. It's not worse. You're just too used to eating the same thing.
Order from a different menu.

what are some tasks youd like to see contestants from different series attempt? (if that makes sense haha)
So first of all, I'm sitting here after the second Champion of Champions episode finished airing but before I've been able to find it online, so I've been interacting with Tumblr very carefully. Opened it up but put my hand over the main bit to avoid seeing any spoilers about who won, so I could make a post about the just-released season 14 lineup. Then I saw this message, clicked on it, and then immediately realized that someone might have seen CoC2 and decided they wanted to say something about it to me, and I may have just wasted all my spoiler avoiding-efforts. I was very disappointed in myself for the split second it took this message to open, and I would like to thank you for sending something that was not the spoiler-y message I feared.
Instead, you sent me a really fun question! I love this, here are some initial answers, and I might come up with more later:
Ed Gamble doing the watermelon task from the very beginning of season 1.
Russell Howard doing the season 12 task in which they had to score a soccer goal.
Sarah Kendall doing the season 13 task where they had to keep their tongue out and lick everything.
I'd like to see Rhod Gilbert do every task in Taskmaster history, but especially high five a fifty-five-year-old.
I would also like to see James Acaster high five a fifty-five-year-old.
I wish they'd kept up the task about buying a gift for the Taskmaster, I think it would be fun to see everyone do that. But especially Bridget Christie. And Joe Lycett. And Mark Watson.
Noel Fielding painting a horse while riding a horse.
Hugh Dennis doing any of the hands-on tasks, like making a coconut flinging machine from season 5, or flinging a shoe into the bath from season 10. Basically, I want to see everyone from season 4 do all the tasks.
Iain Stirling do the task from the beginning of season 12, trying to hit Alex with a ball. Also Lou Sanders.
Mark Watson do any of the tasks with Fred the Swede, because Jesus that would be awkward.
James Acaster doing the season 9 task when they had to make a portrait of Greg on 16 different pages.
I'd like to see Rose Matafeo try to name American states while painting a wolf on a teapot.
I'd like to see Katherine Parkinson try to do all of season 1 by herself.
Lou Sanders send cheeky texts to the Taskmaster.
Sally Phillips do most of the season 13 prize tasks, because so many of them were geared toward helping her achieve her goal of making everything sexual.
Phil Wang doing the continuous noise task from season 8, because I think he’d try the same thing that he used for "best noise" in his own season, and I'd like to see him try to do that while running.
I'd like to see Rose Matafeo try to engage a toddler.
Desiree Burch do the glasses in a box task from season 7, to see her exasperated reaction when she first looks in the lab and sees the drinking glasses. I’m picturing her stacking one glass after another into the box while muttering “Of course, should have known, God, you guys!”
Okay that's what I have for now, this is a fun game. Thank you for sending me something to pass the time while I get annoyed about the new episode not being up yet (by which I mean, get very unfairly annoyed with the lovely people who out of the goodness of their hearts take time to upload these episodes so those of us outside Britain can watch).

Watching the Orville is just sighing deeply and saying “Welp, I guess I ship this middle-aged doctor and mother of two with this robot now.”

It has been one week since The Orville season finale, less than a month since I started binging the entire show, and I just keep thinking about how this show gives Penny Johnson Jerald, an actress who is 60 years old, the most romantic and in-depth romance arc, and one of the best characters on the show as Claire Finn.
She’s an incredibly competent Chief Medical Officer, a mother of two, and yet also she isn’t defined by just either of those things.
She’s literally called the “wisest” person on the ship and people go to her for advice, but also she has her platonic emotional needs met by her strong friendships with the other women on the ship, as well.  They hang out, they give her advice when she needs it, they are there for her as much as she’s there for them.
And she’s seen as a desirable woman by three different male (or at least male-coded) characters throughout the series.  Yes, one of them is basically played for laughs as he’s, well, a blob, but Yaphit still very much cared for her and nearly sacrificed himself for her child.
She’s not just “empathetic ship mom”, though the show takes her struggles with motherhood seriously as well, and the show gives her children some interesting storylines as well.
And she falls in love, has an incredibly complicated and compelling romance that is taken seriously by the show despite its unorthodox nature.  The questions that do come from others about this romance come from a sincere place of caring after some very weighty things happen concerning Isaac in the plot, and not things like “Don’t you think you’re too old for this kind of thing?”
Half of the possibly final episode is centered around Claire Finn and her romance with Isaac, her happiness, her family, their wedding.  There are so few shows I can think of that treat their older, “empathetic mother” character as such a whole person, and I think it’s one of the big things that drew me into The Orville so quickly, and made the experience of watching it so spectacular.

💙 TELEVISION SHOW AND HISTORY 💙 I do not own this song or the Image, all credit goes, It’s so Awesome. Subscribe and Share with your friends! to my channel. See for more videos!!. I want to say ‘thank you’ for being the friend!! A television show (often simply TV show) is any content produced for broadcast via over-the-air, satellite, cable, or internet and typically viewed on a television set, excluding breaking news, advertisements, or trailers that are typically placed between shows. Television shows are most often scheduled well ahead of time and appear on electronic guides or other TV listings. A television show might also be called a television program (British English: programme), especially if it lacks a narrative structure. A television series is usually released in episodes that follow a narrative, and are usually divided into seasons (US and Canada) or series (UK) — yearly or semiannual sets of new episodes. A show with a limited number of episodes may be called a miniseries, serial, or limited series. A one-time show may be called a “special”. A television film (“made-for-TV movie” or “television movie”) is a film that is initially broadcast on television rather than released in theaters or direct-to-video. Television shows can be viewed as they are broadcast in real time (live), be recorded on home video or a digital video recorder for later viewing, or be viewed on demand via a set-top box or streamed over the internet. ♛ CREDITS ♛ The first television shows were experimental, sporadic broadcasts viewable only within a very short range from the broadcast tower starting in the 10s. Televised events such as the 10 Summer Olympics in Germany, the 10 coronation of King George VI in the UK, and David Sarnoff’s famous introduction at the 10 New York World’s Fair in the US spurred a growth in the medium, but World War II put a halt to development until after the war. The 10 World Series inspired many Americans to buy their first television set and then in 10, the popular radio show Texaco Star Theater made the move and became the first weekly televised variety show, earning host Milton Berle the name “Mr Television” and demonstrating that the medium was a stable, modern form of entertainment which could attract advertisers. The first national live television broadcast in the US took place on September 10, 10 when President Harry Truman’s speech at the Japanese Peace Treaty Conference in San Francisco was transmitted over AT&T’s transcontinental cable and microwave radio relay system to broadcast stations in local markets. The first national color broadcast (the 10 Tournament of Roses Parade) in the US occurred on January 10, 10. During the following ten years most network broadcasts, and nearly all local programming, continued to be in black-and-white. A color transition was announced for the fall of 10, during which over half of all network prime-time programming would be broadcast in color. The first all-color prime-time season came just one year later. In 10, the last holdout among daytime network shows converted to color, resulting in the first completely all-color network season. ♛ CREDITS ♛ Television shows are more varied than most other forms of media due to the wide variety of formats and genres that can be presented. A show may be fictional (as in comedies and dramas), or non-fictional (as in documentary, news, and reality television). It may be topical (as in the case of a local newscast and some made-for-television films), or historical (as in the case of many documentaries and fictional series). They could be primarily instructional or educational, or entertaining as is the case in situation comedy and game shows.[citation needed] A drama program usually features a set of actors playing characters in a historical or contemporary setting. The program follows their lives and adventures. Before the 10, shows (except for soap opera-type serials) typically remained static without story arcs, and the main characters and premise changed little.[citation needed] If some change happened to the characters’ lives during the episode, it was usually undone by the end. Because of this, the episodes could be broadcast in any order.[citation needed] Since the 10, many series feature progressive change in the plot, the characters, or both. For instance, Hill Street Blues and St. Elsewhere were two of the first American prime time drama television series to have this kind of dramatic structure,[10][better source needed] while the later series Babylon 10 further exemplifies such structure in that it had a predetermined story running over its intended five-season run.[citation needed] In 10, it was reported that television was growing into a larger component of major media companies’ revenues than film.[10] Some also noted the increase in quality of some television programs. In 10, Academy-Award-winning film director Steven Soderbergh, commenting on ambiguity and complexity of character and narrative, stated: “I think those qualities are now being seen on television and that people who want to see stories that have those kinds of qualities are watching television.

My rankings of MCU phase 4 so far (as of “What If...?”):
1) WandaVision: 9/10
Currently my favorite of the Disney+ shows. Putting the discarded fan theories aside, I give this series high marks due to its creativity and how it was able to create tension in seemingly happy situations. Overall, a really well made series.
2) Falcon and the Winter Soldier: 6.5/10
I would’ve given the series 7/10 but that finale really dragged it a point down. In general, the series feels like a mishmash of ideas that could work on their own but feel disjointed and undercooked when put together. Also, while I do give the series credit for its willingness to handle more real world issues, the actual writing feels weak. It’s like the writers wanted to be both a fun superhero show and a dark, political thriller, but couldn’t find a way to make it work.
3) Loki: 8/10
Pleasantly surprised by this series since I actually wasn’t looking forward to this one. Shipping issues aside (seriously, stop with the shipping discourse), I enjoyed the deep dive into the timey wimey stuff and the series’ exploration of the bigger multiverse. Also, Kang the Conqueror made his first appearance, which definitely gets a biased point from me since Kang’s one of my favorite all-time Marvel villains.
4) Black Widow: 6/10
I hate to give this movie such a low score but I just wasn’t feeling it. Without the MCU connection, Black Widow’s pretty much a second-rate spy thriller with pacing issues and weak character development. It sidelined the main lead Natasha for Yelena Belova and it botched the adaptation of Taskmaster. I’ve already gone in length about my problems with Black Widow but in general, I just thought it was an overall weak movie .
5) Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings: 9/10
Easily a top 5 MCU movie for me. Best fight choreography in the entire franchise, gorgeous set designs, the story was engaging the whole time, and Simu Liu really owned the part (it pays to be an actual martial artist). But what really pushes this movie to the top tier would be the main villain, Wenwu, and his rivalry with Shang-Chi. Easily one of the best MCU villains and Tony Leung really shines in his Hollywood debut.
6) What If...?: 7/10
This series was really hit-or-miss with the quality of episodes. You have the episodes that were amazing, like Strange Supreme and T’Challa Star-Lord. But then you have the middling episodes, like Captain Carter and Killmonger Won. But what really dragged this series down for me would be the season finale. It was completely rushed and ended the Ultron conflict in such an anticlimactic way.
BONUS) Venom - Let There Be Carnage: 6.5/10
Technically, not MCU but I have to count it now due to the post-credits scene. Anyways, this movie was okay. It was better than the first movie but it’s still just an average monster-versus-monster flick. I like it, but there’s not that much substance. It’s essentially a B-movie with a blockbuster budget.

Taskmaster New Zealand Easter Eggs
Taskmaster, a comedic gameshow that captured many hearts and rumble many bellies for years. In fact, the show is so iconic that it expanded into other parts of the world like New Zealand.
Recently, I’ve been obsessed with the show and binge all of Taskmaster New Zealand episodes and I’ve spotted some cool Easter eggs. So here are my findings:
Taskmaster New Zealand Websites are Real
Similar to How I Met Your Mother, Paul, that acts as the Taskmaster’s assistant also mentioned two “fake” websites during the show. However, do you know that these websites are real?
One of the website he mentioned during the caravan challenge is Paul’s key emporium.
Paul’s Key Emporium
Tumblr media
Paul’s key emporium sells the best keys in New Zealand as claimed by Paul. Do take note this is the opinion of Paul and not a fact.
Tumblr media
Paul’s Crazy Key Sale
One of the tabs on the website is Paul’s crazy key sale. He offers house key, car key, caravan padlock key, old-timey key and steampunk pirate key. All of the keys are at a discount price of $10 each.
There’s no way you can actually purchase these keys for the options are not clickable and there’s no way you can pay for it.
Tumblr media
Key Game
On one of the tabs, you can also play a game that’s key themed. In case you’re looking for an answer here, there’s none. By none, I also meant there’s no winning to the game. The game is not designed for anyone to win as far as I’ve tried at least. Maybe you’ll get a different result.
Tumblr media
Paul’s Key Emporium FAQ
The last page of Paul’s Key Emporium is the contact tab. The tab contacts a contact page and an FAQ. As mentioned, there’s no way you can actually pay them if you are interested in a key and that problem is also touched on in the FAQ.
As of Nov 2021, the page is still live - https://www.paulskeyemporium.co.nz/
Tumblr media
Kiwi Tape Measurers
Another website that was mentioned during the show is Kiwi tape measurers.
Tumblr media
Unlike Paul’s Key Emporium, Kiwi Tape Measurers only have one product, a $260 Kiwi made Tape measurer that’s permanently sold out.
As of Nov 2021, Kiwi Tape Measurers (kiwitapemeasurers.co.nz) is down. You can only see it using the way back machine.
Guy and Paul are Brothers (Series 1)
In Season 1, you’ll realised something - one of the contestants, Guy, is Paul’s brother. That is why in one of the tasks they mentioned, Guy could have just called Paul.
Jeremy Wells and Matt Heath Co-Hosts a Breakfast Show Together (Series 2)
In Season 2, Matt Health was invited as a contestant. You will notice he bring in items that directly relates to the Taskmaster, Jeremy Wells, that’s because they host a breakfast show together.
Jeremy Wells and Matt Heath host a breakfast show, the Matt and Jerry show, on Radio Hauraki.
Laura Daniel Sings A lot
As you know Taskmaster involves completing various tasks, one of the tasks involves singing. One thing we can all agree on is, Laura Daniel is a great singer. This is because she sings a lot.
She is one half of the comedic pop duo, Two Hearts. The other half of that duo is her fiancé Joseph Moore.

Most of the shows I watch that aired new episodes in fall 2021 have finished their seasons now, but it is time for holiday programming! I made a list of all the special episodes of Britcom shows I watch (plus one show I don’t watch already, and I’m a little annoyed about how easily I was convinced to watch it, but I am definitely going to watch Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker do whatever they do in One Night in...) that are airing over the general end-of-year period this year. There are... honestly more of them than I’d expected, now that I write them all out like this. It’s possible that I have gotten into too much television.
Anyway, here’s the list. I’m posting it mostly because a Britcom schedule for the next few weeks may be helpful to some people who are reading this. But I’m partly posting it in case I’ve missed anything and people can help me out; if any shows that I’ve talked about on this blog are airing specials that aren’t on this list, please let me know.
- December 15, 2021 – Never Mind the Buzzcocks Christmas special - December 16, 2021 – One Night in…, Alton Towers - December 20, 2021 – Would I Lie to You Christmas special - December 23, 2021 – Ghosts Christmas special - December 23, 2021 – Not Going Out Christmas special - December 23, 2021 – One Night in…, The Natural History Museum - December 24, 2021 – 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Christmas special - December 24, 2021 – The Last Leg Christmas special - December 26, 2021 – Big Fat Quiz of the Year 2021 - December 29, 2021 – Frankie Boyle’s New World Order Year-End special - December 30, 2021 – One Night in…, London Zoo - December 31, 2021 – The Last Leg of the Year - January 1, 2022 – Taskmaster New Year’s Treat - January 2022 – Big Fat Quiz of Everything
There’s a lot going on. It should be fun.

A List of Shows I’ve Watched So Far This Year
...and a couple of sentences about each one.  Also some movies and podcasts, too.
I started keeping a list around the time the entertainment outlets started publishing their “Best of 2021″ lists near the end of the year so I would be sure to catch some good TV since I wasn’t sure what to watch half the time.  So this list is partially from those lists, partially stuff I found in other ways like via tumblr gifsets on my dash, some things I stumbled upon, had already been watching, and some just because I was subscribed to whatever service a show was on and thought “Hm that looks interesting.”
Tried keeping track of movies and podcasts, too. Gonna do video games in a different post.  Currently I have 34 shows on my “To Watch / Catch up on” list, and always adding more.
This is in no particular order at all.
Taskmaster (& rewatched a lot of it.) - OK I immediately lied.  I moved this to the top because I honestly believe everyone should watch Taskmaster.  It is the most joyful thing I’ve ever watched, I love it so, so much.  Everyone I have convinced to watch the show has loved it.  It curbs anxiety, it always always always makes me laugh, and there’s a lot of it to watch.
Taskmaster is a British... panel/game show, sort of, where five comedians/entertainers are at the whims of the Taskmaster (Greg Davis) and his assistant (Alex Horne, who is the true genius behind the show) and do ABSOLUTELY ABSURD tasks to earn his approval.  The same cast stays for an entire season (early on 5 or 6 episodes, then 8, now 10.)  Greg scores their efforts, and at the end of the season, the winner takes home... a bust of Greg’s head.  Mostly bragging rights and a spot on the Champion of Champions special that happens after every 5th season.
I cannot express how much I love Taskmaster. You can just watch most of it for free on Youtube.  Series 1 Episode 1 is a fine place to start, or maybe try season 4 for people you likely already know.  Anyway, that’s the sales pitch.  Everything else is just my opinions.  Watch Taskmaster, unless you hate fun and don’t need a distraction right now?
I started watching it near the end of last year, and then synced up with @ahab99 and we watched the rest of it together.  It’s been one of my favorite things to do this year, and the fandom is great.  My favorite seasons are 4, 5, 7, 9, 12 and 13, but I love them ALL.
Kongen Befaler (Taskmaster Norway) S1 & 2 - I love Taskmaster so much I started watching the Norwegien version, which is slow going because I have to be in the right mind to watch something with subtitles, but the Norwegian version is very nearly as good as the original.  Highly recommend it if you’ve finished with the original.  I haven’t yet gotten to the New Zealand version yet because I’m waiting for ahab99 to be ready, but I know it’s also considered to be great.
The Great S1 & 2 - Speaking of great... watched this as it was on Alan Sepinwall’s best of 2021, and I trust him about quality of things most of the time.  Enjoyed The Great a lot, not one of my favorite things of the year, but thought the leads were very good and also Sacha Dhawan was a nice surprise.  It’s got a lot more grossout humor than you were probably expecting. But I’ll watch S3.
Halt and Catch Fire S1-4 - I’d watched S1 and the first half of S2 when it was airing, then fell behind, and my DVR broke, and I never caught back up.  But Sepinwall had mentioned it somewhere in a review I read recently and put it back on the list.  It’s a show that got stronger every season.  S1 was really trying way too hard to be Mad Men But In the 80′s And About Tech, once they figured out the characters in S2, toned down Lee Pace’s character and made the “mousey wife” not so mousey, it got amazing.  Loved it so much.
Station Eleven - The first few eps aired last year, and I watched it in real time, but the last three aired this year.  This is one of the best things I watched not only this year but... ever.  A story of love and hope after a world-ending pandemic.  You would think “I don’t need a pandemic story right now” but yeah, you need this story.  One of the most satisfying moments I’ve experienced in fiction near the end of the series, too.  So good.  Highly rec.  This also means Mackenzie Davis was one of the leads of... the last two things I talked about and she deserves all the awards.
Hacks S1 & 2 - I love Jean Smart and had been meaning to get around to this one for awhile, so I got to it like a few weeks before S2 aired.  Really funny and powerful story of two women in different generations who were there when they needed it the most.  A definite rec.
Starstruck S1 & 2 - I watched this not only because Sepinwall recommended it, but because it was created by & stars Rose Matafeo, who is on series 9 of Taskmaster and who I adore because of it.  Really funny,  great story, a little frustrating, but well worth it.
Our Flag Means Death (3 times) - Thanks to tumblr for all the gifsets, and finding out Guz Khan (who is in S12 of Taskmaster) is in this show, I gave in and watched it.  I didn’t watch it the first time til the week after it ended, but then I signed up for HBO Max to support the show and watched it three times in one month.  Loved it.  Can’t wait for S2.
Severance - Came for Adam Scott, stayed for holy shit what is going on here why do I have to wait week to week for more?  I NEED ANSWERS NOW.  Creepy, bleak, and very, very intriguing.  Am on the edge of my seat for season 2.  Another one of the best things I’ve seen this year/in awhile.
The Expanse (Some in 2021, some in 2022) - One of those shows I’d been meaning to get into for a long time and I knew if I could stick with it eventually I’d love it. I had tried the first episode a couple of times over the last few years and didn’t like it but... I was determined this time and stuck with it.  I have LOVED Shohreh Aghdashloo for a long time and she got me to stick around.  I honestly didn’t love the show until season 2 or so, but at some point I was all in, and was sad when I finished, though a couple of the seasons were weaker than others for sure, and learning the circumstances behind the removal of one of the main characters, who was another of my favorites, put a small damper on it.  But I’m glad I finished it.  Someone make a S7. :(
Upload S2 - Watched S1 and thought it was decent, S2 was... definitely affected by the Pandemic filming.  It was OK, but not great.  The season finale especially seemed cut off too soon.  But I’ll keep watching.
Doctor Who Specials (New Year’s special and The Sea Devils) - New Years special was great, other one was okay. It’s nice that they’re addressing 13/Yaz.  Even though, ya know, it’s almost regeneration time.  There’s a lot about the 13 era I have liked, but also a lot of wasted potential.  And I’m not a fan of the Timeless Child thing... have seen few who are, though.
I also rewatched the Husbands of River Song because the Taskmaster himself, Greg Davis, plays King Hydroflax in this episode.
Critical Role S3 + Calamity - Been keeping up with Critical Role still, though sometimes I fall behind a week or two.  I have been enjoying S3 a lot, probably more than I enjoyed the first arc of S2.  Having Ashley back full time is great, and I like the new characters.  Been staying far, far away from the fandom and the drama, though.
Calamity was amazing.  I know I posted a thing about maybe not watching but I did because of how everyone was talking about it, and it was everything people said it was.  I cried through most of the finale.  Thanks to @thequeenofmyownscreen for crying with me. :)
I have very much wanted to get into Dimension 20 since before Calamity and really want to now, but have yet to find the time.
Breaking Bad Rewatch (Just season 2.5 to the end) - After watching the first half of S6 of Better Call Saul, and hearing the second half is going to have more relevance to Breaking Bad, I went back and re-watched BB from the first Saul episode to the end, since I hadn’t seen it since it aired. For like the S2 and some of the S3 part I was fast forwarding through a lot of like, Hank & Marie scenes or parts that were a lot of people staring at each other, but after awhile I just settled in and re-enjoyed the ride.  Worth it.
Better Call Saul S6 - As noted above, have been keeping up with BCS the whole time.  Love it.  Can’t wait to see how it ends.  DON’T KILL KIM WEXLER, PLEASE SHOW.
(BBC) Ghosts S1 - 3 - Three of the main characters have been contestants on Taskmaster (Charlotte Richie - S11, Lolly Adofope - S4 and Katy Wix - S9) plus at least two guest stars (Jessica Knappet - S7, Bridget Christie - S13.)  So after learning this plus seeing some gifsets on my tumblr dash and seeing it was on HBO Max, I watched.  Really enjoyed it, highly recommend.
(CBS) Ghosts - While looking up info for BBC Ghosts, I saw CBS had brought the show to America.  I thought “Well, let’s see how bad they fucked this up” and dove in, intending to watch just the first episode or three.  I finished the (currently only, S2 is incoming) season in like a day and a half.  They did a good job making both the living married couple and the ghosts American, retaining some flavor of the BBC version without it being a direct ripoff aside from the pilot and one ghost being a near carbon copy of the British counterpart.  I think they did a good job making it their own.  The Brit version is probably still better, but I don’t regret watching both and will watch the next seasons of both, too.
(New) Kids in the Hall - I was in High School when the Kids in the Hall was originally airing on Comedy Central here in the US, and things like “I’m Crushing Your Head” were as cool as Wayne’s World quotes.  Wasn’t sure what to expect about the revival but I really loved it, a lot.  Be warned if you watch it there is old man full frontal in uh, the first episode, lol.  But seriously, it was great.  And I’m flabbergasted and mad that it wasn’t nominated for an Emmy.
Only Murders in the Building S2 - I think S1 aired last year?  Watching S2 now.  What a delight this show is.  As an Old, I grew up loving Steve Martin and Martin Short and they’re amazing here.  I had no idea who Selena Gomez is before this show, and now I adore her.  Enjoying S2 a lot.
For All Mankind S3 - I think I watched S1 & S2 at the end of last year, and except for that mindbogglingly terrible subplot at the end of the 2nd season, I really loved it.  S3 has been likewise great so far.  Even though the stupid subplot continues into S3.  I’m a Margot and a Dani stan.
Mare of Easttown - When this was airing last year it felt like everyone was talking about it and how great it was, so I got around to watching it.  It was, indeed, very good, with a resolution that was surprising but didn’t feel like came out of nowhere.  Also more Jean Smart = good.
The White Lotus - I mean, I have HBO Max right now and this is another show people kept talking about when it was airing, so I watched it.  Eehhh, it was okay.   It was a good takedown of white people at their most white-people-ness.  Don’t think it deserves the Emmy love it’s getting except for the guy who played the hotel manager.
The Umbrella Academy S3 - I keep up with TUA when it’s on, and enjoy it. Enjoyed S3 as well.  Not as much as S2 but hey, enough to look forward to S4.  Mostly glad this season Luther got over Allison, but Allison this season was uh... not great.
Stranger Things S4 - Just like most everyone else, watched ST4 and I did love it, though the criticisms of it is pretty valid, too.  NGL, got pretty bored with the Eleven subplot in the first half and fast forwarded through it as I thought it was very obvious Henry = Vecna and it felt like otherwise we were rehashing a lot of other stuff.  And the Russian Prison subplot could have been cut way down, too.  But still, love Stranger Things.  Can’t wait for S5.
Murderville - Will Arnett’s improv / cop comedy.  Swung WILDLY in quality depending on who the guest of the week was.  They were right to put Conan first and Kumail Nanjiani last so it started and ended on its strongest episodes.  I adore Annie Murphy but it was uncomfortable watching her stumble through her episode.  But I finished it and would watch a S2.
Resident Alien S2 - I think S1 was stronger so far, but still loving this show, and Alan Tudyk is great, so is his co-lead Sara Tomko.  Could do with less Mayor and Mayor’s Wife who’s character’s names I can never ever remember, and more of everyone else.
Barry S2 & 3 - I watched S1 as it aired and never got around to picking up S2 or 3 until a few weeks ago.  It’s very good, and very violent.  Can’t believe they’re still gonna do a S4 after that S3 ending.
The Flight Attendant S1(ish) - I watched the first episode and thought... I am not into this enough to watch the rest of the season but I do want to know how it ends.  So I skipped right over to the last two episodes.  Maybe I’ll do the same with S2.
Gentleman Jack - Was interested in this from tumblr gifsets.  Literally watched the first episode and a couple of hours later the cancellation was announced, lol.  Overall, I enjoyed it but I hope Suranne Jones’ back is OK because she carried this show for all sixteen episodes.  Anything focused on Anne Lister was great.  But they could not write a subplot of side characters to SAVE A LIFE.  The cast was great, (I mean they had Five himself Peter Davison!) with what they were given.  But so many subplots either were messy, boring or went nowhere and were dropped without resolution.  Still glad I watched it but... it feels like only Lister/Walker ever found its footing and everything else was... not there.  I’d have kept watching, but not super upset it’s likely not going to happen.
Star Wars
Book of Boba Fett - I think I liked this series more than most when it was focusing on Boba Fett but also like... the criticism was fair.  And yeah it felt more like a sub-show of The Mandalorian rather than its own thing in the end.  It was quite cool seeing the whole gang, minus Cobb, fighting together in the finale.  And also uh, this may be blasphemous, but I am slightly disappointed they brought Grogu back?  I think they are victims to their own success if they don’t think the show can survive without Grogu, whereas I was kinda looking forward to Mando on his own.  But I’ll enjoy Mando S3 either way, I think.
Even this review of BoBF became a review of The Mandalorian. *facepalm*
Obi-Wan Kenobi - Yeah it was messy blah blah but I really really loved Obi-Wan.  We’d been waiting for Obi’s return forever and I think they did a great job making the show emotionally resonate.  It was so great seeing Hayden back, too.  And it also adds a little more emotional weight to ANH how too, with Obi-Wan having a relationship with Leia.
Star Trek
I watched all the Star Treks. Yesterday was the first NON-STAR TREK Thursday of this ENTIRE YEAR and I AM MAD ABOUT IT.  Luckily Lower Decks S3 starts next month.
Prodigy S1.0 - There’s still more Prodigy S1 coming, but I am enjoying this show more than I thought I would, grading on the “It’s for children!” curve.  NGL I am most invested in the Real Janeway & Chakotay stuff but the kids and Holo-Janeway are also great.  Excited for more.  And the Kobiyashi Maru episode was a fave, as well as the 1.0 finale.
(Rewatch) Picard S1 & then Picard S2 - I forgot most of what had happened in S1 so I rewatched it.  I like it more than most people did, but I mean... there’s like no Star Trek I don’t like.  S2 started strong, and I liked the ending, and a lot of what they did in the middle stumbled with some great moments and a few not so great.  There were definite parts of S2 that... didn’t work.  But it was also fun.  Plus my Teenage Dream Crush (lol) showed up, which was a huge plus for me.  And uhm... I am absolutely feral about what’s going to happen in S3.
Discovery S4 - I think Discovery had gotten stronger every season, and I again, have enjoyed every season.  I do definitely agree I wish every season wasn’t universe-ending threats, and the bridge crew doesn’t get enough to do, but I mean... that doesn’t at all ruin my enjoyment of the show. I thought the universe-ending threat was at least new and original this year.
Strange New Worlds S1 - Ummm... yeah.  It’s great.  I’m mad about how great it is.  It’s not my favorite of the New Treks (Lower Decks is probably my fave) but I do get why so many people say this is their favorite.  REMEMBER THOUGH... we wouldn’t have this Pike, Spock and Una without Discovery S2.

MST3K
Mystery Science Theater 3000 S13 + Specials - I Kickstarted MST3k season 13 for uhhhh... more than I probably should have.  I am really loving Season 13 so far.  Jonah is great as always, I already adore Emily and her bots, and having Joel back in the riffing seat with J. Elvis by his side mashed the nostalgia button so hard.  All the episodes have been hilarious, though some are more faves than others, but that’s normal.  Really enjoying the “special events” too.  Having something to do like, every other Friday by appointment has been nice, too.  The chat is very friendly and actually funny.  Ready to support them for as much as I can when S14 talk comes around.
The Mads Are Back - MST3k-related, Frank Coniff and Trace Belaiu have been doing monthly riffing livestreams since July 2020 and I’ve been to them all.  So another monthly Tuesday night appointment.  They also do a guest interview after each, which has been delightful.  Was a big help early in the Pandemic to have another monthly “appointment” to look forward to, and I’m glad they’re keep on keeping on with the livestreams especially since Frank’s health problems.  And I love that nearly all the old cast plus some of the new MST3k cast has come and hung out in the post-show with them. <3
Along with that, just rando, MST3K and Rifftrax episodes whenever I feel like it, often as white noise when I’m gaming or working.

Trashy Realtiy TV - I make no apologies.  I don’t watch a lot of reality TV but I have watched these.
The Circle S4 - I just lilke the Circle, OK? Love is Blind S2 - It’s a dose of drama that I usually avoid. 70% of Love is Blind Japan S1 - Wanted to see the differences. I watched the pods and vacation part, skipped most of the “We’re back at our real lives!” episodes and just went and saw who made it to the altar and who said I do.
JUST STARTED:
The Other Two - Haven’t finished yet, but just wrapped up S1.  A Sepinwall rec I wouldn’t have checked out otherwise.  The Entertainment Industry Takedown stuff is kinda funny but nothing we haven’t seen before.  What has made this show work so far is that yeah the mom + adult kids are very dysfunctional on their own but they love each other and their little brother a lot and that glue makes the show worth it for me.
Blood and Treasure S2 - I would not watch this show most likely but Mark Gagliardi is one of the main stars (probably #3 on the call sheet I’d guess) and when a guy you kinda know is on TV, you usually wanna watch that guy being on TV.  It’s a fun cheesy National Treasure like romp.  This season was filmed in 2020 and JUST NOW BEING RELEASED and only on Paramount+ so we’re probably not gonna get more.  The first two episodes released just this week so, we’ll see how the rest of the season goes.  Mark’s character has his own subplot this season though so I’m excited for that.
Movies
TBH I don’t watch a lot of movies?  There’s too many shows to watch.  But I have watched these in the last 6 months...
Everything Everywhere All At Once - Everyone was talking about it so I wanted to experience it.  As amazing as everyone said.  I still think about it often. And get Absolutely Story of a Girl stuck in my head.
The Batman - Not a huge Batman fan, (like it’s FINE but whatever) but wanted to see Pattison’s take on it.  Thought the movie was a little too long, and I came away with no strong feelings other than Pattison and Dano were both very good, and was excited to see Izzy Hands and Irving from Severance in the movie :v
Star Trek The Motion Picture - I’ve seen this like a half dozen times, and am always amazed at how many reaction shots of the cast’s face they padded the film with.  Wanted to see the new enhanced visuals and cut.  At least what they were gazing at for 15 minutes of the film’s runtime looked great.  I need to finish rewatching the rest of the TOS movies.  I’ve been saying that since I finished my All-ST Rewatch in 2020.  SO I guess I didn’t actually FINISH that rewatch.  Hm.
The Lost City - I truly don’t know why I watched this movie but I had finished whatever show I had been watching and didn’t want to start a new one yet so I watched this for no reason.  Cast was good, movie was cheesy but also fun in a Romancing the Stone sort of way. Not great, but fun.  Daniel Radcliffe makes a great villain.
Suicide Squad - I’m... trying... to watch the DC movies.  I’ve only seen the two Wonder Woman movies, Batman vs.Superman and that first Superman movie, all when they came out.  I’ve heard the second one and the Peacemaker show are great though so I’m trying to shove my way through the rest to that.  Do I have to watch the Snyder cut?  Anyway, this was fine, but felt like it was trying way too hard to be cool. Was entertaining at least.
Podcasts
I haven’t been listening to a lot of podcasts lately, tbh.  Mostly I listen in the last hour before bed when I’m playing on my Switch and hanging out with Patchy.
The Taskmaster Podcast and Taskmaster: The People's Podcast - Yep been listening to the companion podcasts to Taskmater, too.  The original TM podcast is hosted by Series 9 contestant Ed Gamble and it’s fantastic because he’s SUCH a fan of the show, and he’s a great interviewer.  It’s a recap podcast, of the current episode if a series is airing or past series when one’s not.
The People’s Podcast is hosted by S8 contestant Lou Saunders + a guy who’s a fan (and a writer) who keeps meticulous stats of the show.  Though there’s a bit of episode discussion it’s mostly a celebration of the fandom.  Episodes are a bit more hit or miss depending on who the fan-guest is, but it’s a good effort and usually still entertaining.  Especially loved them interviewing Norwegian Taskmaster Assistant Olli Wermskog <3
Hello From the Magic Tavern S4 + Patreon Bonus Content - I’ve been a fan of HFTMT since about episode 24 (When Craig Cackowski guest starred.)  Through the years sometimes I’ve kept up, sometimes I’ve fallen months behind, but I have listened to it all, including the spinoff podcasts and signed up for the pateron on day 1.  Still love these guys after all these years.  If you want to listen to three guys and guests worldbuild a silly magical world, here you go.  There’s like 400 episodes including spinoffs and Patreon content, you won’t run out any time soon.
The Delta Flyers - Technically as I’m a Pateron patron I watch the episodes online, not listen to them as a podcast.  This is Robert Duncan McNeil (Tom Paris) and Garrett Wang (Harry Kim’s) Voyager rewatch podcast, that they started as a pandemic project, and they’re now in season five.  I really enjoy their takes, even when I don’t agree with them, and there’s so much BTS content.  Also the bonus content includes really great interviews with the rest of the cast pretty often, guest stars, directors, writers, crew, producers etc etc.  I pledge at a mid-teir level now and don’t regret it at all.  I usually watch while working, and sometimes I get a few episodes behind.  And also sometimes I have to rewatch the Voyager episode before listening to the podcast episode.  But very worth it.  Going to miss this one when they’re done.

And then there are a bunch of upcoming shows or shows with seasons that aired in like 2021 that I haven’t mentioned here to watch like, the Lord of the Rings show, and S2 of Leverage: Redemption not currently on this list that I will watch as they come out.
No idea how someone with an actual life squeezes in more show time.  I’m still like 90% in quarantine still (thx immune system) so... at least I’ve got the time.
