As a lone alpha wolf who has many around him but at the same time he is alone, alpha wolf and protector that all happiness, anger, sadness, hate and past marks he turns into a redhead

Come puoi ignorare i segni? Perché non posso sentire altro, “it’s all I know and it’s all I want to know”. Mi sento patetica a pensarti, a sognarti, a scriverti, a immaginarti. Phoebe Bridgers dice “I never grew up with you and you’re not my waiting room”, e io penso solo al male che mi fanno queste parole, le tue parole.

Hi! I'm studying B1.2/B2 level Spanish and I want to learn * words to express things more*...(recently I learned,, conectores del discurso,, and some ,,frases hechas,,)
I'm sorry if you already posted something like this, I'm a new follower and I just saw that you have this account since 2013! (P.S.between it's hard for me to study words for any language; I have to write 1 word 10 times to memorize it,and others just read it once)
Have a great day!🌸
So I'm going to attach some of the (what I call) academic connectors. They're just words that I find really helpful for explaining things or especially in oral exams or written exams to sound more coherent and link your sentences together.
I suppose the more correct term is something like particles of speech or something along those lines, but they're the kinds of phrases you will want to know if you have any intention of writing in Spanish and especially if it's in an academic setting:
de hecho = in fact, as a matter of fact
no obstante = nevertheless, regardless

a pesar de (algo/alguien) = despite, in spite of (something/someone) pese a (algo/alguien), despite, in spite of (something/someone)

hasta = until, up to / even, including hasta que + subjuntivo = until (something happens; subjunctive)
incluso = even, including
al pie de la letra = “to a T”, exactly, precisely, “by the book” tomar al pie de la letra = to be very precise and methodical
(tomar algo) a la ligera = (to take something) lightly

al fin y al cabo = “at the end of the day”
por (el) otro lado = “on the other hand”
que yo sepa = as far as I know que tú sepas = as far as you know que nosotros sepamos = as far as we know [follows conjugation rules for subjunctive saber]
es decir (que)... = that is to say..., in other words...
o sea... = in other words...
And obviously por and para which are their own issue but they come up a lot. Which is understandable but they’re a big hurdle even for people in the C levels
There are others that are better understood with examples because it’s not enough to just write it. So:
aun vs. aún -aun with no accent is “even” and is synonymous with hasta or incluso -aún with the accent is “yet” and is synonymous with todavía
o sea -The expression o sea is used as “in other words”; do not confuse it with óseo/a which is “osseous” or “bone-related”, an adjectival form of hueso “bone”. Some people do write it as one word “osea” but it really should be separate... and sea is technically subjunctive ser
certain expressions with femenino de indeterminación -a solas “one-on-one” or “privately” -a sabiendas “knowing full well” -a ciegas “blindly” or “in the dark” -a escondidas “secretly”  And many others, some of which were in the longer vocab list above
subjunctive phrases [use with care] -There are many phrases with subjunctive that you eventually need to know and they can be helpful in essays, though again this is its own topic. Things like para que “so that (something will happen)” or con tal (de) que “as long as (something happens)” are sort of subjunctive phrases of unmet conditions... things like “unless” or “until” things happen are subjunctive in many cases. Some like aunque become “although” with indicative and “even though / even if” in subjunctive... I say use with care because this is more of a functional vocab list not a grammar lesson.
solo, sólo, y solamente -solo/a as an adjective means “only/single/a single person” or it means “alone” -solo as an adverb is synonymous with sólo. The accent mark there is a vocal inflection so it’s like “ONLY”. You use either as “only” or “just”. Since it’s an adverb, solo will not change for gender/plural -solamente is “solely” and is synonymous with solo/sólo
pero vs. sino -pero is “but” when you’re changing the topic or providing different information; no es de Alemania pero habla alemán “he’s not German but he speaks German” -sino is “but rather” when you’re correcting someone’s statement; no es alemán sino francés “he’s not German (but rather), he’s French”
I would also say it’s worth understanding how ya works because it’s got a lot of uses
I’m also going to attach some links to my tags that will help you navigate and find more of what you might be interested in:
Vocabulary
Idiomatic Expressions (especially the older entries tend to be more universal; the newer ones are expressions I tend to find and am interested in sharing so if you go into my archive and look for the tag “idiomatic expressions” or “expresiones idiomaticas”
Grammar ...which is probably not what you need right at this moment, but in case you want to peruse my stuff on different grammatical concepts I have everything from present tense to imperfect subjunctive

The Abomination (Tim Roth) may have a bigger future in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe than fans realized. Marvel already announced that Abomination and his alter ego, Emil Blonsky, was cast in She-Hulk on Disney+. However, the gamma-powered monster’s surprise appearance in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings indicates the Abomination will have an even greater presence in the MCU than first thought.
Abomination has only made one MCU appearance in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk but the massive brute has the distinction of being the second supervillain in the MCU after Jeff Bridges’ Obediah Stane/Iron Monger in Iron Man. Abomination’s human side, Emil Blonsky, was a British Royal Marine working for General Thaddeus Ross (William Hurt). Ross enhanced Blonsky with the Super Soldier Serum but he was still no match for the Hulk (Edward Norton). Blonsky then infused himself with Bruce Banner’s gamma-irradiated blood, which mutated Blonsky into the creature dubbed the Abomination. However, the Hulk defeated Abomination in Harlem and escaped capture. The Abomination was apprehended and held in cryo-stasis within S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Alaska facility called the Vault. That was the last time fans saw the Abomination, although he was mentioned in the Marvel One-Shot titled The Consultant. The World Security Council intended to release Blonsky so he could be part of the Avengers but that plan was foiled in favor of the Hulk joining the Avengers instead.
Related: The Avengers: What If The Abomination Had Been Recruited
Shang-Chi shows the Abomination cage fighting against Doctor Strange’s Wong (Benedict Wong), Doctor Strange’s partner as part of Xialing’s underground fight club. In the MCU timeline, it’s been about 15 years since Abomination was last seen in Phase 1 and while he was left in the cryo-prison The Vault, he’s now in the Raft, as briefly shown when Wong takes him back in the wake of their fight. How that change of location happened is unclear, but since Tim Roth is also reprising Blonsky and Abomination in She-Hulk, it may be revealed when he eventually meets Banner’s cousin, Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany), and play what’s been described as “a significant role” in the show. The Abomination was also, of course, a major league villain who possesses Hulk-levels of power, making him “a 30-megaton nuke” on the loose, in Secretary of State Ross’ verbiage.
Tumblr media
As surprised as fans were to learn the Abomination will appear in Shang-Chi, Tim Roth may have been equally astonished to have been contacted by Marvel after so many years. There were initial plans to include the Abomination in Avengers: Age of Ultron but those obviously never came to fruition. In a 2017 Reddit AMA, Roth was asked if he will ever return to the MCU and he replied, “I don’t think Marvel will ever use me again, but it would be fun.” Because of the Hulk’s complicated film rights, which are owned by Universal Pictures, there are no more Hulk solo movies on the horizon. The advent of She-Hulk Disney+ TV show allows Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk/Bruce Banner to continue playing major supporting roles in other MCU properties and it opened the door for Tim Roth’s long-awaited comeback as the Abomination.
Whether the Abomination will further appear in the MCU is unclear, but there are questions off the back of how Wong interacts with the hulking monster. That seems to suggest that Wong has been training him and that the pair have an established camaraderie, rather than being enemies. Following on from the Phase One plan to bring him in as an Avenger, Abomination could potentially be a possibility for the next iteration of the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in Avengers 5 and he could also be recruited by Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis Dreyfuss) to join the new team she recruited U.S. Agent John Walker (Wyatt Russell) for in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Since there’s a relationship with Wong already, some fans speculate that Abomination could possibly impact Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Either way, the Abomination is on the verge of a major comeback after sitting out MCU Phases 2 and 3.

Begitu luar biasanya menjadi pemuda.
Kedua, konsistensi.
Konsistensi menjadi kata kuncinya.

Chap 11 Who Can You Trust?
Chris: Last time on Total Drama Island… Things really got cooking between the campers. Heather pushed Leshawna too far in the cook-off challenge and ended up one chilly mama. Owen had a hard day. Geoff led the Killer Bass to victory. And the Screaming Gophers got to the bottom of their losing streak. It was buh-bye, Beth. Have the Gophers broken the curse? And just how much trust do they have in one another? Find out this week on Total. Drama. Island!
"Hey Harold you know what they did to you wasn't right." I said sitting with him he looked so sad. "Yeah well they had their reasons I'm just a target." He said ok besides wanting Duncan to hurt, this boy needs help. "Then lets make them stop." He looked at me shocked. "Say I don't know Duncan the ring leader. Make him feel pain." I said and he jumped up. "Are you crazy he'd kill me!" How original this one is going to need work. "Well look at it this way he will know. You won't take his crap sitting down. " I said standing up. "Why would you want to help me?" He asked confused. "Because unlike the people on this island I think bullying is wrong." I said walking away letting what I said sink in.
(Confessional: Chris)
Chris: Hi. Chris, here. Sometimes teams just don’t get along. So the producers and I thought the best way to work through the group friction would be… to exploit it for laughs! This is gonna be awesome!
(Confessional Off)
Chris: So, last week’s challenge exposed a few Gopher issues. And I’m sensing a little something funky floating in the Bass pond, too.
Duncan: Ahh!
Chris: So, this week’s challenge is going to be centered around building trust. Because all good things begin with a little trust.
(Confessional : Gwen)
Gwen: I trusted Trent once. He left me buried alive on the beach.
(confessional off)
Chris: There will be three major challenges that will have to be completed by two or more members of your team. Normally, we like to have the campers choose their partners, but not this time! More fun for me!
Chris Okay! So for the first challenge, you’ll be doing an extreme freehand rock climbing adventure! DJ and Duncan will play for the Bass. Heather and Iris for the Gophers.
"This is going to be interesting. " I said watching the two glare at each other. Iris: Ugh…
Chris: Here’s your belay and harness.
Heather grunts
Iris: Hey! What’s your damage?
Heather: If you think I’m letting you hold me up, you’re nuts!
Chris: You won’t be holding her up exactly. One camper pulls the slack through the belay as their partner climbs. If the climber falls, the belay will stop them from crashing. The catch? Both the side and the base of he mountain are rigged with a few minor distractions like…Rusty nails... Slippery oil slicks... Mild explosives and …A few other surprises.
Harold: Wicked!
Chris: The person on belay must also harness their partner up. It’s all about trust, people. And remember, never let go of the rope. Your partner’s life depends on it.
Iris: Excuse me dad, can we trade partners? I really don’t feel like being dropped on my head today.
Heather: Please. As much as I love your company, I’m not gonna throw a challenge just to kill you. Yet. Now spread ’em.
DJ and I start climbing when I pray that I don't die. Chris: I promised surprises! Habanero pepper sauce, anyone?
Heather: Ugh! What the heck, Chris?!
Iris: Whaaaa! Ow! HEATHER YOU BITCH!
I scream before climbing again.
Chris: Muy Caliente.
I glare down at him "APUESTO QUE ES LA ÚNICA FRASE QUE CONOCES DICK"
[ding]
Duncan: Ah… [gulps the sauce] Is that the best you can do?
Chris [hushed, to Chef] : Is that the best we can do?
Heather: Come one, Iris. You don’t wanna fall behind. [whip] [rip]
Iris: You Bitch!
Duncan[admiring the "view"]: Well, you don’t see that every day.
Chris: *points watergun at him* If you don't want to go blind, KEEP YOU EYES ON DJ!
DJ: Whoa! [screams]
Duncan: Whoa!
DJ and Duncan grunt.
Duncan  [ after he groans] : This bites.
DJ: Ugh. Big time.
Iris: Aw, screw it.
Chris: Looks like the Gophers have won the first challenge.
Iris: Yeah! Crap!
Chris: Like legendary marksman William Tell, you’ll be knocking arrows off your partner’s head with crab apples.
Courtney: Um, wasn’t it the other way around?
Chris: Shush! Also, the shooter will be blindfolded! [DJ gasps] The person who knocks of the arrow while causing the least amount of facial damage wins.
[smack]
DJ: Ooh!
Chris: Aw, nuts! Leshawna and Owen, you’ll be one team. Courtney and Sadie, you’ll be the other.
DJ groans
After a few minutes Leshawna got the apple Sadie kept pounding Courtney with apples. I was laughing and clapping my hands.
Chris: Sadie! It’s over, man! Let it go!
"Oh come on dad this was gold"
Sadie: Oopsie. Sorry.
Courtney: Ugh… You’re going down. [moans and faints]
Chris: And now,the blind trapeze! To avoid serious injury, the trapeze has been set up over this pond, which is full of jellyfish.
You two will stand blindfolded on the platform until your partners tell you when to jump.
Then hopefully they’ll catch you. Or that’s gonna be one heck of a painful swim. [laughs] Okay! Hut hut!
Harold got Bridgette across no problem. Then Heather and Lindsay came up. Lindsay let Heather drop. "HA KARMA BITCH "
Chris: And now, the final leg. The blind toboggan race.
Leshawna: The say what?
Chris: Each team will have a driver and a navigator. The driver steers while the navigator show directions. Oh yeah. And the driver will be blindfolded! [Geoff and Harold gasp] Not many of you left, huh? Keep losing you guys. [laughs] Oh well. Uh… Gwen and Leshawna, Geoff and DJ.
Chris: On your marks. Get set…
an airhorn blows
Leshawna and Gwen came down  DJ and Geoff trailing. DJ and Geoff cross the finish line only to be disqualified because DJ took off his blindfold. Chris: Who wants a treat? A tasty goodie that represents exemption, security, peace of mind.
Courtney [after she sighs]: Just get on with it.
Chris: And if you don’t get a marshmallow, you have to walk the Dock of Shame and you can never come back. Ever. Let’s see. One for Duncan. One for Bridgette. One for Courtney. DJ, Geoff. Well done, my brothers. Looks like we only have one left. Sadie and Harold, the final marshmallow…
(Confessional : Courtney)
Courtney: When I say someone’s going down, they go down.
(Confessional off)
Harold gulps.
Courtney: Mm, come on already!
Chris: Don’t rush me! The audience eats up this kind of dramatic conclusion![Courtney sighs.] Harold.
Sadie: You know what? That’s fine with me, you… marshmallow eating freaks! [cries loudly]
Chris: The rest of you are safe. For now.

HeyHey, If you still open. I really loved your headcannon about the Pregnancy-Announcement with Kirishima. It made so much fun to read and screaming how wholesome it is. So I would wonder if you would do something similar for Midoriya? Maybe also including surprising Inko at the same Time? I just love the Midoriya Family ♥
Tumblr media
Okay so
You guys are together for a long time now
And you just want a kid so bad
You can imagine the little Midorya you love so much with onesies of his own dad
Geez so cute
You also know how dangerous could be for the number one hero to have a kid
But you are up for it
You talked a lot about it and decided to start trying
You were having a little bit of a hard time but one day, you just woke up sooooo nauseous
Immediatly went to the bathroom, you kept some tests for this type of situations
Positive
You were
SO HAPPY
YOU NEED TO TELL MIDORYA RIG-
Wait
no
What if
You remember seeing a compilation video about wifes doing surprises for their husbands, so why not try something like that too?
You came up with a great idea, You were doing a treasure hunt with him, the treasure was unknow, for him
Next weekend you guys had a dinner planned with Inko and All Might, so it was a double opportunite
You planned riddles and questions about your relationship and waited to him to get out that morning to buy everything you would need for the family dinner
You putted everything in place so quick you almost thought you had another quirk
You heart was beating so fast, you decided to film everything so you could show to your kids in the future
And to yourself, to remember how cute your husband is
He got home with all the food bags only to be greeated by a VERY smiling s/m
“I got a surprise for you! No questions just do the treasure hunt!”
He did asked questions, you didnt respond any of them
So, Izuku is not the type who forgets important dates, he have every important date marked somewhere
and it is EVERY important date
But he’s still a very insecure and distracted boy even after all those years
So he’s absolute panicking
WHAT IS THIS?? WHAT IS TODAY? GODDAMIT HE DIDNT GOT YOU ANY PRESENT, HE FORGOT ABOUT SOME IMPORTANT DATE HE’S SUCH A HORRIBLE HUSBAND OMG WHAT IF YOU LEFT HIM CAUSE HE’S SUCH A HORRIBLE HUSBAND? PLEASE NO HE LOVES YOU SO MUCH HE PROMISE HE’S NOT GOING TO DO THAT AGAIN
But he played it cool
No he didnt
 But lets pretend he did
It hurted you a bit seeing him so desperate but it was going to be worth it
It were 2 stages, the first on the kitchen where you were right now, and the other one on your bedroom
In the first stage he needed to respond a quizz about your relationship
Wich NOT helped him calm his nerves
Simple questions like ”Where did you met? Whats Your song? When are you aniversaries? Who confessed first? This type of things
Obviously, he didnt missed
I guess he never miss huh
He knows everything about you and about the time you spend together so this is a piece of cake even tho he was so scared he forgot stuff
He remember things about you even you didnt remember
Like your favorite spot to get icecream before that other store opened close to the park and became your absolute favorite
He just loves you so much and he wants to know every little thing about you
Doing the quizz he became a lot more relaxed, he just love every part of you and talking about all the times you had together makes him so happy
Also he kinda wanted to win now
You almost cry when you remember the day you guys confessed to one another
“Okay, this one its the last one, now you can proceed to the next challenge
Are you going to tell me what is this all about now?
Not a chance, keep walking and nooo questions
Baby, please, I’m so curious!
No, you will know at the right moment!”
The challenge on the bedroom was putting the frase together, you provided the syllabes for the frase
He started noticing clues the syllables had, the first thing he put together was “You are”, after he noticed there was a ‘d’ alone, oh another one, baby are you sure you cut these correctly? There’s also two ‘a’s
….
‘dad’ he tought, he looked at you in complete silence
Quickly scanned the other syllables
‘You are going to be a dad’
He looked at you again, you could almost hear his heart racing
“You are going to be a dad ?Well, I’m not, I’m going to be a mom, you’re going to be a dadAre you serious? Please are you serious?Yes honey, I’m pregnant!”
So much tears
Your tears
His tears
My tears
So much tears
GOD so MUCH TEARS
He instantly hugged you, sloppy kisses all over your face while he was trying to say he loved you but was too much of a crying mess to actually say anything
Took care to not squeeze you too hard
But picked you up by the hip so he could kiss you belly
Sometimes you forget how strong he is
He is so ECSTATIC about itYou guys have SO much to think about
Names, the baby room, what school they’re going to be in, What will they want to be when they’re older
OMG
He HAS to tell his mom and All Might
OMG HE HAS TO TELL KACCHAN AND IIDA AND OCHAKO AND-
Oh, he’s mom and All might are probably getting here soon
BUT NO FEAR
YOU ARE HERE
You bought little baby shoes when you where thinking about his surprised
“Omg baby, lets tell them that way! God you are so perfect I love you SO MUCH”
So you stopped filming for a short brief
You guys put the baby shoe on a gift box and waited for them
Midorya didnt want to eat at home anymore, he wanted to spoil you as much as he could
So when Inko and All Might got there they were greeated with two very exited “Young ones” and a camera
Midorya didnt let them have time to protest and lead them to the couch and brought the gift box
So much confusion
What is this?
Just open the box? Okay
Baby shoes? I dont…
OH MY GOD
So much happyness in this room is almost hard to see
“OMG my babies are having a baby? Am I going to be a grandma?Congrats Young Midorya and Young Y/n! This is going to be a hard responsability but also a great blessing!”
The Midoryas are freaking out in a corner while you and All Might watch with happy smiles
OF COUSE you went out on the best place to celebrate
Izuku called your angencies to tell everything and warn you would not be going in patrol for some time
Cause of couse Izuku would NOT let you go on patrol while pregnat, he trust you, he knows you can handle it but he’s just so worry while you are using your quirk or moving fast something happends
You agreed cause you were also worried
Inko gave you SO MUCH prengant advice, and make it clear she’s going to be there to help you with ANYTHING and spoil her grandson so much
All Might is not as talkative like Inko or Izuku, he’s so happy for you two but deep inside he’s so worried something happends to you
This is the son of the number one hero after all
So many villans could try to kill you
Also who knows when the One for All on Izuku is going to start to get weak
He’s so worried about so much things and you can see that
“All Might?Oh, Yes Young Y/n?I’m going to be okay, I promise*sight* I guess I am a little bit worried, but I know you can handle yourselfI trust Izu as well, he would never let enything happen to meYes, in fact, you’re right young Y/n”
When you were getting back to your house Midorya said to you post the video you made
“Are you sure honey? Villans can see..But I want everyone to know so they can be happy with us! But if you are worried about it its probably best if we didn-Already posted I just wanted your permission”
People are ECSTATIC about this, the number one hero is having a son? SUCH GREAT NEWS
All your friends sended messages as well, Ochako was SO exited about it
Izuku created the habit of sleeping with his hands on your belly, he really wants so feel when the baby’s first kick come
Also he made a meter long list of names for your child He can’t wait to be able to hug them
___________________________________________
Sooooooooooooooo this was fun
I hope you liked anon

Perfect Distractions
A/N: aaand late again! But still made it on a Friday technically. @abbydebeaupreposts left me a prompt about something going creak in the night and it fit so well with what I already had planned, I had to go back and rework the chapter to fit it in!
Keep on with the domestic prompts if you’ve got ‘em! Half the fun is figuring out just how to fit them all in LOL
Claire hears a noise, Jamie marks an occasion, and as always, the facts of this fanfic are contrived specifically to make fluffy university/modern-day au scenarios. Please let me know what you think!
Part One: [Chapter 1] [Chapter 2] | Part Two: [Chapter 1] [Chapter 2] [Chapter 3] [Chapter 4] | Part Three: [Chapter 1] [Chapter 2] [Chapter 3] | Part Four: [Chapter 1] [Chapter 2] [Chapter 3] | Part Five: [Chapter 1] [Chapter 2] [Chapter 3] [Chapter 4] | Part Six: [Chapter 1] [Chapter 2] [Chapter 3] | Part Seven: [Chapter 1] [Chapter 2] [Chapter 3] | Part Eight: [Chapter 1] [Chapter 2] [Chapter 3] [Chapter 4] | Part Nine: [Chapter 1] [Chapter 2] [Chapter 3] [Chapter 4] | Part Ten: [Chapter 1] [Chapter 2] [Chapter 3] | Part Eleven: [Chapter 1] [Chapter 2] [Chapter 3] | Part Twelve: [Chapter 1] [Chapter 2] [ Chapter 3] [Chapter 4] | Part Thirteen: [Chapter 1] [Chapter 2] [Chapter 3] [Chapter 4] | Part Fourteen: [Chapter 1] [Chapter 2] [Chapter 3] [Chapter 4] [Chapter 5] Part Fifteen: [Chapter 1] [Chapter 2] [Chapter 3] | Part Sixteen: [Chapter 1] [Chapter 2] [Chapter 3] | Part Seventeen: [Chapter 1] [Chapter 2] [Chapter 3] | Part Eighteen: [Chapter 1] [Chapter 2] [Chapter 3] | Part Nineteen: [Chapter 1] [Chapter 2] [Chapter 3] [Chapter 4] | Part Twenty: [Chapter 1] [Chapter 2] [Chapter 3] | Part Twenty-One: [Chapter 1]
Part Twenty-One: Milestones | Chapter 2
Old houses made noise.
A fact she was wholly cognizant of, having stayed in many an ancient inn and, more recently, the large and hollow walls of Lallybroch.
Pipes creaked and foundation groaned, and sometimes tree branches rapped against windows so incessantly she found herself glaring blearily at her digital clock on the nightstand.
Except, she realized with an icy jolt through her veins, there were no trees next to that window.
“Jamie,” she whispered urgently, clutching the blankets tighter to her chest. “Do you hear that?”
No response. That man could sleep through an air raid. She turned, then, only to find a warm depression in the bed where her boyfriend should have been.
Sitting up, fully alert now, she scanned the room for the very few places a 6-foot Scot could hide.
Then she heard it again, like pellets striking the window in succession, or—
Something more familiar than that.
She threw a nightgown on and was opening the window in seconds, just dodging small pebbles as they flew in.
“Ach, Christ, did I hit ye, lass?”
“What in the goddamn fuck are you doing?!”
His grin was a brilliant flash of white in the darkness of the backyard, but he said nothing.
She bent to pick up one of the pebbles and chuck it at him, seeing his red hair bob out of the way and hearing his chuckle echo in the yard.
“It’s 3 in the bloody morning, come back to bed!”
“Nay.” He shook his head, still grinning even as she threw the last of her ammo at him. “Ye’ll have to come here and make me.”
Headlines flashed before her eyes. Local woman pelts idiot boyfriend to death with tiny pebbles.
“I have a blanket down here, mo chridhe, and the night’s verra comfortable tonight, no?”
Local woman strangles idiot boyfriend with plaid blanket.
“Sassenach…”
Local woman hits idiot boyfriend so hard, fingerprints still readable on his face.
“Cla—”
“Fine!” she huffed, “But I’m only coming down to smack you.”
---
The last time he did this, his heart was beating so fast and so loud he could hardly hear his own thoughts, not that said thoughts would have been anymore helpful.
And even tonight, as he saw the lights flicker on as she made her way through the house and towards the backyard, he could still feel his heart start to race ever so slightly, stopping completely as he caught the slope of her unimpressed golden glare staring at him behind the glass of the backdoor.
One step towards him, then another. His heart and breath alike unconsciously mimicked her pace until she was finally before him, arms – and temperament – extremely crossed.
He grinned.
“So nice of you to join me, Sassenach.”
“You have precisely one minute, Frase—”
“Happy anniversary, mo graidgh.”
“—Huh?” Wide golden eyes blinked curiously at him like an owl. “It’s not our anniversary, Jamie.”
“Aye but it is,” he said resolutely. “’Tis exactly a year since I first threw stones at yer window.”
“Threw stones into my room, you mean.” She smiled a little, and that was enough leave for him to pull her into his arms, wrapping the blanket around them both and sighing as he rested his cheek atop her head.
“A year since ye gave me yer number,” he went on, unperturbed. “A year since ye well and truly stole my heart, mo nighean donn.”
“A year, huh?” she mumbled into his chest.
He could feel the tension of poised, sleep deprivation-induced anger slowly melt from her shoulders as she herself melted into his arms.
“That means two days from now is the anniversary of our first kiss.”
He pulled slightly from her to bend and enthusiastically mark the occasion.
“D’ye recall that night, when ye came out all covered in pen marks?” he chuckled. “It took all I had not to kiss ye then.”
She was silent for a moment before quietly muttering, “…I would’ve let you.”
He matched her silence, letting his mind entertain all the alternate universes and outcomes unfulfilled had she let him. He’d said as much on that day, exactly one year ago.
So many outcomes, and he’d play to whichever one was her choice because that’s all he’d ever wanted and – by some miracle – exactly what he received.
To be her choice.
“Maybe it’s better that ye didn’t, lass,” he said finally. “If ye did, I’m afraid I might’ve taken ye right there and then.”
She rolled her eyes. “No, you wouldn’t have. You would have gotten arrested if you did.”
“It occurs to me, though—” he said, his voice suddenly pitching itself much lower. He knew the deep rumble never failed to get her attention. “—that our neighbours are verra few and far between.”
She already knew what was – quite literally – coming, and a series of frenzied moments later, they were in various states of undress, lying helplessly in love atop the blanket Jamie had so rightly brought along.
Her eyes were on the stars when he turned to look at her, the light of the moon perfectly outlining the curve of her cheek and catching the wisps of her eyelashes.
Sorcha.
He hadn’t realized he’d said it aloud till those owl-like eyes were staring back at him.
“What is it?” she whispered, easing onto her side to shift closer to him.
“Nothin’.” He shook his head gently, fingers rising to trace the delicate shape of her face. “Just somethin’ Ian and I talked about.”
“Well, go on.”
Now?
His smile blossomed slowly on his face.
“Nah… it’s too soon, I think.” She pouted and her laughed, softly pressing his lips to hers. “I’ll tell ye, I promise, just… no’ now. No’ yet.”
“Is this a good surprise or—”
“I surely hope so,” he swore, raising his arm so she could nuzzle into his neck.
“Then I can wait,” she said with a nod.
“Ye sure?”
She looked up at him, eyes dazzlingly brilliant in the light of the moon.
“I’d wait forever for you, Jamie Fraser.”

A long time ago, an old railroader I met under the pseudonym of Zebitela, back in the days of the beginning of the digital era, spoke a phrase that marked me: The Central was beautiful ...
Zebitela referred to the Central Railroad of Brazil, the main railroad of Brazil from 1889 to 1957. The Central was a true school in Brazil. Not that it was the only one, because other railroads were also schools where they acted. But, being a state-owned railroad, it played a more active role and was a dream of every railroad. Everyone wanted to work with Central. Its employees were better paid, had more prestige and perks. So it attracted people of talent. Famous engineers have made a career at Central and have left their mark to the future generations. The works of art built to give passage to the railway bed have lived up to the name and have become true works of art. That is why Zebitela said that the Central was beautiful: it left many beauties where it passed. Of course, other Brazilian railroads have bequeathed us immense architectural beauties in their works of art, and I could not omit that fact. So, despite citing Central of Brazil in the title of this blog, I will present here the beauties of the railways that I visited in Brazil. Many do not translate into sumptuousness. On the contrary, they are small works that almost go unnoticed, especially today when nobody else pays attention to constructive details of buildings, bridges, streets, etc. The world today lives connected on the screen of the cell phone, and I will not be surprised if many came to discover here in this blog beauties that are right next to them, on theirr street, neighborhood, or city. If you do, take some time and go to take a close look at them, since no photograph surpasses the actual view of an object.
I dedicate this blog to Zebitela. I never saw him again, but I hope he can find this blog and rediscover here the beauties that he saw alive in his wanderings through the Central

Hello! My group and I have been studying diligently on zoom every since we’ve been made to go online, but it’s really hard when we’re all struggling and don’t have anyone to turn to. I have a worksheet based off of hypothetical and si clauses. I’m providing what the lesson gives us, and the worksheet as well.
# 8 – A – FRASES HIPOTÉTICAS
⦁ I would run if I had more energy. – Yo correría si yo tendría más energía.
⦁ If they were home, they would *set the table – Si ellos estarían en casa, ellos pondrían la mesa.
⦁ You (inf.) would chat if you could. - Tú con chantajarías si tú puedes.
⦁ If I studied more, I would *know more vocabulary – Si yo estudiara más, yo sabría más vocabulario.
⦁ You (pl.) would *say more if you (pl.) wanted (to). – Ustedes dirían más si Uds. querrían.
⦁ He would propose tonight if he had a job.
⦁ If we conserved more energy, we would pay less money. – Si nosotros conservaríamos más energía, nosotros p_________ más dinero.
⦁ They would develop more new technology if they built a bigger lab.- Ellos d_____________ más technología nuevo si ellos c___________ un laboratorio más grande.

https://i.imgur.com/AvnoimZ.png
Here is the lesson, and above is the what we’ve been working on. We’ve been using the conditional for pretty much all of them, but looking at our lesson the conditional isn’t really used. What we’re having issues with is figuring out what sentence falls under what category- hypothetical statements about possible events, improbable events, the past, or habitual conditions and actions in the past. I think we know most of these don’t fall under the last two, but deciding between it being a probably or improbably event is an issue too.
Even then, when we think it’s a probable event, it can be conjugated in four different ways, and that confuses us more. I think when it uses words like “would” or “could” my brain thinks it needs to fall under conditional, while future tense uses “will.” Could you possibly explain why these sentences don’t really use conditional, and how to better tell which it could fall under from the sentences given? I guess the textbook is making it a little confusing for me.
Thank you for any help you can give :) I really appreciate it.

For a minute I was really confused because that was a lot of conditional being used instead of what I thought it would be.
First let me say that you should try not to interpret “could” and “would” literally for Spanish as compared to English. English uses similar conjugations for many different tenses which can be confusing.
Just as a quick example: “I could have helped” is past tense [I would personally use imperfect but preterite wouldn’t be wrong], but “you could help” could potentially be present tense or conditional.
Don’t go based off of how it’s translated for “could” and “would”. It doesn’t help as much as you think it will. Instead, try and focus on the general mood being set up.
But based on what they’re trying to have you do, “could” sounds like they’re using it for poder and then “would” is being used for other verbal conjugations of conditional.
So just for example again:
Podrías hablar. = You could speak. / You would be able to speak.
Hablarías. = You would speak
Second, it sounds like you’re learning conditional and imperfect subjunctive.
These can be boiled down to “if/then” statements.
Typically, the “if” is the contrary to fact statement and/or the hypothetical. “If I had more energy”, “if I studied more”, “if he had a job”
Think about what those “if” statements are… They aren’t actually what the situation is. You’re setting up a hypothetical thing. “If X, then Y”. The X doesn’t exist, it’s not how things actually are. It’s contrary to fact, it’s hypothetical.
In those situations, “if” is imperfect subjunctive. And it’s better translated as “were” for English, but again don’t get too caught up in translation, try thinking about the mood.
For example:
Si fuera a España… = If I were to go to Spain… / If I went to Spain…
Si pudiera… = If I were able to… / If I could…
Si estudiara más… = If I were to study more… / If I studied more…
So take the first sentence…
“If I went to Spain”… the implication is that “I” never went to Spain. That’s hypothetical.
The “then” statement is normally in conditional. It describes what someone “would” do if something “were” to happen.
…viviría en Madrid. = …I would live in Madrid.
…ayudaría. = …I would help.
…sacaría mejores notas. = …I would get better grades.
These are the consequences of the implied hypothetical.
In fact, conditional is often used with deber for the idea of “should’ve”… like debería haber hablado con ella “I should have spoken with her”.
Conditional gets used a lot with “coulda woulda shoulda” type situations.
But be aware that the if/then statements can be in any order, so you have to be careful:
Estarían enojados si te ayudara. = They would be angry if I helped you.
Si te ayudara, estarían enojados. = If I helped you, they’d be angry.
Si dijera la verdad, nadie me creería. = If I told the truth, no one would believe me.
Nadie me creería si dijera la verdad. = No one would believe me if I told the truth.
And just a quick side note about imperfect subjunctive:
There are some words or phrases that could be imperfect subjunctive or could be something else, but it really depends on context.
Most commonly that’s si “if” and aunque which is “even though/although” or “even if” in subjunctive:
Aunque es verdad… = Although it is true… [it is true; indicative]
Aunque sea verdad… = Even if that is true… [contrary to fact; subjunctive]
Aunque fuera verdad… = Even if that were true… [contrary to fact; subjunctive]
And…
Si tienes tiempo… = If you have time… [normal]
Si tengas tiempo… = If you have the time… [polite; subjunctive]
Si tuvieras tiempo… = If you were to have the time… [overly polite; subjunctive]
Although you can use imperfect subjunctive this way it’s not really recommended because it sounds overly deferential.
But you do see it in hypothetical and contrary to fact statements:
Si tuvieras tiempo, me ayudarías. = If you had the time, you’d help me.
In this case, “if you had the time” is hypothetical. It’s implied that the person doesn’t have time, but IF they did THEN they would help.
Now onto the actual worksheet itself: I’m not going to correct every single thing unless you want me to and you can send me an ask or another submission if you’d like letting me know…
But I’m going to point out some things that are either very wrong or are noteworthy. So I’d encourage you to go back over your worksheet now that you have more information
But really look for “if” and “then” statements, I think that will help.
In particular try and examine the sentence and see if the “if” statement could also make sense as a “if it were”, “if they were to have”, “if they were to” something. That’s your biggest clue that they want imperfect subjunctive.
Again, this is difficult for English because we don’t have a clear imperfect subjunctive, and even when we do, we don’t have totally unique conjugations.
Now the worksheet:
#3 I think the word they want is conversar which is why it starts with con but that confused me too. Typically the word used for “to chat” is charlar. The word you’re using I don’t think is a word, but it looks very close to chantajear which is “to blackmail”. So I would say that’s conversarías si pudieras “you would converse if you could”
#4 You got that one completely right; si estudiara, sabría where estudiara is imperfect subjunctive “if I were to study”
#7 conservar would be in imperfect subjunctive though be careful because the nosotros forms have accent marks a lot of the times: conserváramos. The word they want you to use for “pay” is pagar I would bet
#8 The verb they want you to use for “to develop” is probably desarrollar which is regular. And “build” is probably construir which is regular in conditional, but irregular in imperfect subjunctive. Basically construir ends in -uir, and the imperfect subjunctive form for -ir and -er verbs is -iera. They don’t want you to write “construiera” because that looks weird so instead you’d be writing construyera. That pattern happens for oír, leer, destruir and a few others; oyera, leyera, destruyera and it’s not TOTALLY irregular, it’s done for spelling purposes but it does LOOK irregular. And I only say that because I don’t know if they taught you that yet.
#6 The verb is proponer but keep in mind that the same irregularities that apply to the root irregular verbs typically apply to their offshoots. In this case proponer is related to poner so if it’s conditional it’s pondría it would be propondría. You got it right that it was conditional. But if it were imperfect subjunctive [si fuera condicional, sorry I couldn’t stop myself that’s an “if” statement], then it would be pusiera for poner, and propusiera for proponer.  This applies to most of the root irregularities… hacer and satisfacer, poner and proponer, venir and convenir. The exception to that is decir where the offshoots conjugate as if they were regular for future and conditional tense. I don’t know why. Irregular decir is normally diría. But bendecir, maldecir, predecir all come out like bendeciría, maldeciría, predeciría. And most annoying is that they’re totally irregular again for imperfect subjunctive: bendijera, maldijera, predijera taking after dijera for decir. It is maddening I’m so sorry but luckily you don’t have to use those verbs that way very often. They are sometimes curveballs that the exams will throw at you for fluency tests though.
Oh! Important side note:
If you look up imperfect subjunctive in Spanish, you’ll probably find two forms. One will be -iera/-ara, and the other will be -iese/-ase
There’s some historical difference there which is not much use to you now
But the important thing is that if you’re in Latin America you’re going to see -iera/-ara more, and in Spain you’d see -iese/-ase for imperfect subjunctive
Si hubiera estado allí… = If I had been there… [Latin America] Si hubiese estado allí… = If I had been there… [Spain]
Si hablara… = If I were to speak… [Latin America] Si hablase… = If I were to speak… [Spain]
Si comeira… = If I were to eat… [Latin America] Si comiese… = if I were to eat… [Spain]
Si viviera… = If I were to live… [Latin America] Si viviese… = If I were to live… [Spain]
Anyway, let me know if you want something else explained or if you’d like me to talk to you more about the answers in depth. I hope this helps, let me know either way.
EDIT: Also I just want to point out that some of this is entirely contextual.
So for example, #2 “If they were home they would set the table”
That all depends on how the context is.
Is it contrary to fact, or is it not?
Let me put it to you this way:
Si estuvieran en casa, pondrían la mesa. = If they were home, they would set the table.
This implies that they ARE NOT home. You’re in a situation where the people are not home, and you’re like “huh that’s weird, I guess they must not be here, because if they WERE, this is what they WOULD DO”
However...
Si estaban en casa, ponían la mesa. = If they were home, they would set the table.
This only makes sense in the context of recalling a memory. You’re saying what someone USED TO DO.
So “Oh, I remember that whenever they were home, they’d set the table and eat together” would all be in imperfect. You’re recounting an event or talking about someone’s habits.
That’s what your worksheet is talking about with habitual practices.
So in your second image:
Iba a la playa. = I would go to the beach.
Iría a la playa. = I would go to the beach.
This is what I meant by English being unhelpful for translations.
The first iba implies it’s something someone did in the past
The iría implies it’s something that hasn’t happened but someone might want to do it in the future, but possibly can’t.
Putting that together like last time:
Iba a la playa cuando tenía tiempo. = I would go to the beach whenever I had time.
Iría a la playa si tuviera tiempo. = I would go to the beach if I had time.
That first sentence is talking about what someone would do in the past
The second implies the person doesn’t have time so they can’t do that, even though they want to.
