Jay was thrilled to be returning two days before his business trip. He wished he'd had time to tell his family and friends so they could organize a party to celebrate his birthday, but he only managed to call Heeseung and Sunghoon so they could pick him up at the airport.
Seeing his two best friends after passing through the arrivals gate, Jay breathed a sigh of relief because he could finally take his mind off work and go home. To his family.
"Hey, buddy" Sunghoon waved to him when he was close enough, welcoming him with a hug that Jay didn't even bother to reciprocate.
"Hey man, I missed you," Jay mumbled after letting go of Sunghoon and going to hug Heeseung.
"Awn, did he come back more sentimental?" Heeseung squeezed him in his embrace, hearing his friend laugh after releasing him.
"Italy does that to people," Jay said.
"So," the three of them started walking through the airport, Sunghoon making a point of carrying Jay's suitcase, assuming the boy was tired from his trip, "how did you find inspiration in another country?"
"Italy surprised me, I'll be honest" Jay walked between the other two "I think I'll be able to bring a lot of ideas to the restaurant."
Being a chef had its advantages, such as traveling to a country in search of something new for the menu, which Jay always made sure was sophisticated. He knew that after graduating in gastronomy he would never stop studying, because that was the fun of it, learning all the time in a vast culinary world. Where he knew he could get to know even more, learn even more, and make his restaurant the most talked about and visited in the country.
"Where are we going?" As soon as the three of them reached the car, Sunghoon put Jay's suitcase away and pulled up next to his friend, smiling.
"Oh, we managed to warn your mother and she wants to have a little get-together for your birthday," he shrugged as if it were a completely casual conversation.
Jay looked surprised, raising his eyebrows and even smiling a little more than usual.
"Really?" Jay's smile widened even more when his two friends agreed.
In his mind, it would be something very small indeed, as many friends as he could gather and a few relatives who lived close enough to give them time to get to Jay's parent's house for the reunion.
But little did he know about the plan hatched by Sunghoon, Heeseung, and you. Jay had no idea of the surprise that awaited him at his parents' house and perhaps that was the fun of it all because everyone wanted to see how he would react when he arrived.
"What's up Jay, did you tell Y/n you were back early?" Heeseung was in the passenger seat, Sunghoon driving and Jay was comfortably in the back. The two in the front didn't want to show too much to their new friend.
"I sent her a message, but she won't be able to make it," he sighed tiredly, running one hand through his dark hair "Since I traveled to Italy, she went to her grandmother's house on the other side of the country. We were going to celebrate my birthday by Facetime, so…"
"Oh, I'm sorry" he tried to send a sad smile – which he had rehearsed in the mirror with you and Sunghoon – because you had already told him that this would be Jay's answer when asked about you. Little did he know that his trip back had been part of the plan between Heeseung and Sunghoon, who wanted to do everything they could to get their friend back ahead of time.
Jay also had no idea that the trip to Italy had ended early thanks to the two friends in the car. They had expedited everything so that Jay would think he had finished things ahead of time and could return.
It had never been so easy to fool Park Jongseong, Sunghoon laughed the night before when he saw Jay's message telling him that he would probably make it back in time to spend his birthday with his friends.
The car journey continued with them catching up, Jay telling them about the things he'd done and hadn't managed to send a photo to his friends. Sunghoon wanted to scream when he talked about the sights he'd visited, making Jay promise to go back with the two of them so that he could show them everything he had to.
"And here we go" Sunghoon announced as soon as he stopped the car.
Jay's parents' house had always been very cozy, large, and bright. Jay remembered every moment he spent there with his two friends since high school. When they rang the doorbell to ask Jay to play video games, or when the three of them stayed out late at night on the front porch drinking beer and idealizing life after university.
That house had so many memories that Jay hadn't been able to stop smiling since he got back and was getting out of Sunghoon's car.
"We'll get your suitcase later, come on" he locked the car with the alarm after the three of them had left, letting Jay go ahead and walking very slowly so as not to spoil the surprise.
The plan was for him to get in first while Heeseung pretended to tie his sneakers in case Jay asked what was taking them so long, and Sunghoon would help him when Heeseung pretended to trip. Lucky for both of them, Jay just followed. Too eager to open the door to his parents' house.
"Wait for us, Jay!" Heeseung made sure to shout as loudly as he could to let Jay know he was near the door. The people inside the house were as quiet as possible so as not to spoil anything prematurely.
"You two are too slow, what's going on?" Jay turned quickly, seeing Sunghoon and Heeseung laughing as they slowly approached. Without missing a beat, Jay turned the handle and the door opened.
The cry of surprise caught in his throat as the house seemed much fuller than he would normally have thought. The balloons in the corners and his family and the rest of his friends were well positioned in the living room for the arrival of the – almost – birthday boy.
"What…" he turned to the two behind him.
"Surprise, man" Sunghoon held Jay by the shoulders while Heeseung ruffled his hair, excited that it was finally over.
"Hi, my son" Jay's mother was the first to approach, hugging him as tightly as she could. Jay hugged her back lovingly, conveying in that gesture how much he missed his mother.
The moment was spent with Jay greeting his family, and hearing congratulations on his birthday, even if it was only a few hours away. But he would accept because, from the amount of booze he heard Heeseung say, no one would be sober until midnight to remember to congratulate him.
Jay finished hugging his friends and inevitably looked for you among all those people, even though he knew it would be impossible for you to be there. Not because of the way Heeseung had apologized for mentioning you in the car.
He quickly took his cell phone out of his pocket to text you and was surprised when he picked it up and your name flashed on the screen. You were finally calling him.
"Hey, my love" Jay didn't even wait to answer, immediately hearing your voice.
"Hey, almost birthday boy" he could have sworn his heart was floating just from hearing your voice and your laugh, two sounds he missed very much "How was the trip back?"
"Great, I'm finally home" he said, looking around as he saw his friends interacting with his family "Hee and Hoonie threw a surprise party for me."
"Oh, really?" you tried to hold back the urge to murmur cute things because he was telling you that, hardly knowing that things were still over "And how did it feel?"
"It would be better if you were here, to be honest" Jay found a secluded corner in the living room where no one would mind if he stayed while talking to you on the phone.
"I wanted to be there too, love" your voice was sad now, thanks to your role-playing with Jay's two best friends. Everything had to be perfect for him to believe it "But I can't miss your birthday, can I?"
"What do you mean?" Jay asked. Eyebrows knitted together in curiosity, he looked up when he heard Sunghoon shouting excitedly to Sunoo and Jake about something they could do later as a group.
"Let's go, shall we, Jay?" he heard Sunoo ask from afar, nodding in agreement even though he didn't know what it was about.
"I sent you a present, I hope Heeseung and Sunghoon took good care of it."
"Babe? What…" Jay got up from the sofa to look for his friends, spotting Heeseung near one of his uncles and beckoning him over "What have you prepared for me, huh?"
"I can't tell you or it'll spoil the surprise."
"What?" Heeseung mumbled as he approached.
"Y/n said he has a surprise for me and it has help from you and Hoonie" Jay hadn't hung up the phone yet, knowing that you could hear the two friends talking.
"Hi, Y/n" Heeseung shouted enthusiastically and laughed when he heard, even low, your greeting to him "Okay, your present is outside."
"Outside?" Jay asked, not knowing if it was meant for you or Heeseung, but you both agreed at the same moment "Babe, what are you up to?"
"Getting up to something? Babe, I swear I did it with all my heart" Jay heard a noise behind your voice, as if you were fiddling with something, but as soon as he went to answer, the call ended.
"Shit" he looked at Heeseung and then at the cell phone with the call ended.
He'd asked Jay to call after he'd picked up the present, perhaps to tell you his reaction once he'd gotten it. Jay had no idea.
Walking up to the front door, he put his cell phone back in his pocket and opened the front door a little dejectedly. His eyes drooped even though it was for his surprise, but he didn't want to show how sad he was to have missed his call.
Or not. Now Jay was in complete shock. It wasn't possible that you were standing there in front of his parents' house.
"What the fuck?" Jay almost shouted.
"Oh" you pouted your lips, "I told you he wouldn't like the present, Heeseung."
Heeseung would have answered if it hadn't been for hurricane Jay, who burst through the door to take you in his arms. Hugging you tightly and spinning you around in the air.
Your laughter close to his ear was even better than over the phone, your voice calling his name was even more comforting than listening to you on a cell phone. Jay was on cloud nine.
"How…" he caught his breath after hugging you for long minutes, pulling his face away from your neck to meet your eyes as he leaned his forehead against yours "How did you all manage it?"
"Surprise you?" you asked, your warm hands running down Jay's cheeks and holding his face between your hands "Maybe because you deserve it after a long and tiring trip."
"I didn't know you were coming, I didn't know anything about it" Jay felt like running down the street shouting that this had been the best birthday of his entire life.
"We did our best to make everything perfect" you said.
"And it's only because I have you all with me" Jay whispered, sliding one hand around your waist and the other up to your face.
Finally he was able to feel your lips against his in a kiss he'd been needing ever since he got back. The taste of your lips and the gloss you were wearing mingled with his tongue as he rubbed the tip to ask for passage, soon tangling it against your tongue and pulling you even closer to him.
Jay wanted to eternalize this moment. Eternalize the vanilla-flavored kiss with a taste of longing that only you could provide.
"I love you so much" Jay whispered against your lips after he needed some air, but he didn't want to part with you so soon.
"I love you even more" you whispered back, kissing him again just in time to hear someone call his name from inside the house.
Now it was time to part, in fact, and intertwine our fingers in yours to enter the house.
"How about we start the party now before happy birthday?" Sunghoon stirred up the crowd, lifting a bottle of booze and filling a glass to hand out to anyone who felt like starting to drink.
Everyone celebrated together, wanting to start Jay's little surprise birthday party.
"I bet everyone's drunk by midnight" Jay leaned towards you to whisper, drawing a laugh from you.
In return, you leaned towards him to kiss him once more, accepting the glass Sunghoon had offered you when he passed you and Jay.
"Well, I bet they will be before then" you drank a little, handing the glass to Jay who also drank, choosing to share the alcohol with you so that neither of you would get drunk so quickly.
Looking around, Jay felt complete and fulfilled. He was lucky, and he wasn't even talking about having traveled out of the country a few days ago, but rather because he had something more valuable than any tourist spot: and that was all the people who were inhabiting his parents' house for his birthday at that moment.

hi hope ur doing well! i wanted to ask if you could write a reaction of when the boys forget about a date and leave you waiting for a while for them? i'd like the members to be joshua, mingyu, seungkwan, vernon, and dino if possible! thank u sm in advance!
svt + forgetting your date
➔ reaction || requested
➔ warnings: none || 1167 words ➔ notes: fluff ; i'm doing pretty well! getting a lot of things done these days :) i wish i could spend a little more writing and drawing, but it is what it is. if you enjoyed this, please reblog! also if you're interested in any writing/art commissions, check out my carrd. or visit my ko-fi just cuz!
JOSHUA: you know that this guy never checks his messages, so whenever you need him for emergencies, you always call instead. that's why, when your signal is only strong enough for a flurry of texts, he doesn't see them until an hour later. your last message reads i'll just go home. confused, he scrolls up to find a bunch of emojis and ? are you standing me up lol and ...are you seriously standing me up, and it takes a second before he finally realizes what today is. fuck. fuck. he's the one who scheduled this date, going on a spiel about how you haven't seen each other in a while, so you went out of your way to free up your schedule. and now he looks like a grade-a asshole for forgetting. scratch that, he is a grade-a asshole. he makes a few stops around town to pick up your favorite things for a night in before going to your place. it won't make up for the missed date, that much is obvious from your unimpressed stare as you open the door, but he's going to try his best to earn your forgiveness. in fact, as soon as he sees you, he gets on his knees on your steps with a dramatic declaration of, "love, i'm so, so sorry," and you have to drag him to his feet, saying that he's embarrassing you in front of your neighbors. but hey, at least you cracked a smile.
MINGYU: when seungcheol asks if he wants to continue their biking excursion to hit up a cool restaurant, mingyu says yes, even though he feels like he should have declined for some reason. that feeling continues tickling the back of his mind, up until they pay for the meal and cheol asks if they should get dessert. that's when you text him, informing your boyfriend that there's about ten minutes of trailers if he's running late, and his heart drops. he completely forgot about your movie date today. he tells you to go in first. i'll be there later, he types, i have my ticket on my phone. then he tells seungcheol what happened, and seungcheol asks how the hell he'll make it in time when they still have to bike back to their car. spoiler alert: he doesn't. by the time he makes it to the theater and pathetically slinks into his seat next to you, the movie is already in its final arc, and you're aggressively eating your snacks, ignoring his presence. he trails after you once the movie ends, waiting for your verdict and hoping that you'll take pity on his bedraggled state. you pause by your car and sigh. "well, c'mon," you say, opening the trunk for his bike rack. "i'm not so angry that i'll make you cycle all the way home." he decides during that tense car ride that he'll make the best dinner of his life tonight.
SEUNGKWAN: it's late, and you're still not home. after a while of worrying by himself, he calls and asks where you are. he almost thinks that the call dropped because you're silent for a full minute before asking him, incredulously, if he's serious. of course he's serious. he just finished an episode of a new drama, and he never makes it through one. "i've been waiting at the restaurant for the past twenty minutes," you say slowly. "and you're chilling in the living room?" no way. isn't that tomorrow? he flicks open his calendar and gasps when he realizes his mistake. "wait there for a bit, okay? i'm on my way," he says, scrambling to his feet, but you quickly stop him with a scoff. "you still need to get dressed and then get all the way here. they can't wait that long. i'll just leave." he feels awful. he slaps himself on the cheeks to get sense back into him. seungkwan, he scolds himself mentally. how could you do this? how could he forget this date? and it's not like you didn't try to reach him—he sees all the texts and phone calls now, blocked by the do not disturb that he forgot to turn off. "will they let you in by yourself? why don't you eat whatever you want and charge it to my card, hm? i'm so sorry."
VERNON: he doesn't know what he did wrong, but apparently he did something because you just went radio silent yesterday afternoon, even though you're still posting on your story. when he wakes up in the morning, he sees that even his good night texts are ignored. he sends you a good morning text anyway and asks how you slept, asks what your plans are for the day. by the time he gets to work, there's still no reply. "hey!" seungkwan yells out, rushing to his side. vernon automatically reaches for the coffee that he knows is around somewhere—seungkwan is nothing but predictable—and hums when he finds it. "so what'd you end up getting y/n yesterday? i thought you'd ask me for gift ideas, but since you were so secretive this year, i figured it was big." vernon blinks at him. "what was yesterday?" seungkwan blinks back. "you're kidding...their birthday dinner? you wanted to celebrate a week early? hello?" he snatches back his coffee. "you're the one who insisted on it. did you forget?" seungkwan's withering look bounces off the absolute dread that vernon feels. no wonder you were ignoring him. he pushes past seungkwan, already pulling out his phone. "i need to make a call really quick. can you tell the others i'll be late?"
CHAN: this is the lamest excuse in the book, but his phone died, and while he could've borrowed a charger...what was the point? if there was an emergency, people knew to call the other members. that's why he doesn't bother plugging it in until after practice, and when it finally charges up, the belated alert for your date appears, and he swears loud enough for the others to send him a look. "sorry!" he says, throwing all of his things into his bag. "you guys eat without me. i have somewhere to be!" he flies down the stairs and books it out of the building. something about his expression makes everyone jump out of his way, wondering what the heck has him so harried. somehow, he makes it to the place in record time and scans the crowd for your face, lighting up when he sees you under an awning. then his smile falls when he sees your expression. he feels so, so bad for leaving you waiting out here. he shrugs off his jacket and puts it around your shoulders, ignoring the fact that you don't look happy to see him. "why don't we get something warm to drink?" he murmurs, clasping your cold hands. at least he didn't miss the main event—if he missed that, he doesn't know if you'll forgive him.

"I Wish You Were A Boy" II Hazel Callahan
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing: Hazel Callahan x fem! Reader
Contains: Angst, Fluff, homophobia, and i think thats it
(Apologies for any spelling mistakes, English is not my first language)
A/N: so this story takes pace in the 80s where relationships and Romance of the same gender were not very common, and is not allowed.
Summery: Your whole life you were told loving a girl was not right and bad. But when Hazel Callahan came along, all of those thoughts dissapeared.
It was a slow, bright day in 7th grade year, you lay down on the school's bleachers watching the winter sky's clouds hover over the bright yellow sun. It was very cold out today and you decided to wear a dark blue sweater to keep you cozy, but it was not helping very much. You sigh and close your eyes before you hear a soft voice grab your attention. "Hi, um im Hazel. Hazel Callahan. Do you mind if i sit here with you?" The girl says looking down at you. "Of course! Im Y/n by the way. Its really nice to meet you Hazel!" You respond to her. She just smiles at you and sits down beside you. You sit up putting your hands on your lap. The first thing you noticed about this girl was her cool rocker hair. It was nicely cut and sat just above her shoulders. You and hazel begin picking up a quick conversation and that is how you both became best friends. You and Hazel never were really ones to attract to boys in your grade like other girls did. There was one time at a sleep over at Hazel's house where you were both talking about random topics where your eyes went to her lips. that was the first time you ever felt something. it was a weird feeling that since that day you could never get out of your head. You knew it was wrong to like hazel. she was a girl afterall, but a little voice in your head kept saying it was not.
Years later, here you are laying in your bed with hazel, watching The Breakfast Club. "Hey, im going to go change into something comfy. I'll be right back alright?" Hazel says making you look at her. You were both comfortable in each other's houses so she already knew where the bathroom was. You nod your head and bring your attention back to the movie. After what felt like 10 minutes, you wonder what was taking Hazel so long, so you peek into the restroom next door to see Hazel's back facing you as she takes her shirt off to reveal her white sports bra. You blink fast and you notice even how flawless her back was. She had tiny freckles that looked like little sprinkles against her milky skin. You feel yourself staring too long and then hazel turns back around. But the thing that caught you off guard was that she only wore a sports bra and some green sweatpants. You gulped and turned back to the TV. Why were you feeling nervous? Why did you continue staring? Why were you staring at your best friend who was a girl that way? You look at the clock and realize it's past midnight. "Haze, we have school in the morning, let's go to sleep." You say looking into her bright blue eyes. "Yeah alright, you go change too, you can't wear jeans to bed silly." Hazel giggles. You nod and get a pair of fuzzy pink pj's and go to the restroom to change. Once you get inside, you look at yourself in the mirror. Are you really inlove with your girl bestfriend? No no this is wrong. You thought. You start crying as you look at your reflection. Mascara starts smearing down your face and you wipe it off. You look at your night cloths and put them on. After, you walk back to your room to see Hazel already asleep on the other end of your full sized bed. "Good night Haze." You whisper, kissing the girl on the head.
Then comes the day of Prom. You of course had no interest in boys so you or hazel did not have a date. You both decided to go together and wore matching outfits. You wore a light blue dress with little diamonds across the chest, while Hazel wore a light blue Suit with diamonds all over the tie. You both got ready at her house. You were fixing up hazel's dark brown fluffy hair. "Y/n I don't know, do I really look okay?" Hazel asks looking at you both in the mirror. "Hazel. You look amazing. I mean you look beautiful! Look at yourself!" You shout, taking her face in your hands and facing her head towards the mirror. If you could look a little closely you would be able to see a light blush on her face. She rolled her eyes and scoffed. After Hazel, you decided to put on some makeup. You were putting on some light Mascara when you see Hazel in the corner of you eye. It seemed like she was checking you out but you brushed it off. After finishing up, Hazel's mom took photos of you both for "memories" . Hazel drove the two of you to the destination but sat there in silence. "Y/n, it's okay. You look great. Don't be nervous and besides you will have me if you need a dancing partner." Hazel encourages as you pats your head. You nod and continue to look ahead of you.
When you both got inside. You and hazel immediately walk to the empty bleachers. After a while of you and Hazel giggling about random things, you feel the sudden urge to want to dance on the dance floor. "Uh haze?" You look at Hazel. She hums and looks at you with her big blue eyes. "Wanna go dance? Its alright if not. " You ask looking towards the crows of people. "Yeah sure Y/n cmon!" Hazel gets up grabbing your hands. You both arrive to the dance floor and then a slow dance song comes on. You look at Hazel to see her already looking at you "wanna dance m'lady?" Hazel asks in an English accent. You laugh at her and put your arms around her neck. She immediately puts her hands on your waist and you both look at each other. You see Hazel quickly look at your lips and then back into your eyes. "Y/n, I love you. More than a friend. I want to be with you." Hazel quickly says. Your eyes widen and it's like your body takes control over itself and you kiss her. She immediately kisses you back passionately. "Hazel, can we go somewhere, private?" You ask quickly. "Mhm yeah come on." You both start running to any empty room you can. As soon as you both find the janitors closet and as soon as you lock the door behind you she pushes you up against the door and kisses you with much hunger. You hum into the kiss and put your hands in her hair. "Hazel. Hazel please tell me this is wrong. Tell me I'm not supposed to be doing this. "You say into the kiss tearing up. "Shh sh it's okay baby. Relax." Hazel replies putting her hands in your blue dress. "Hazel. I wish you were a boy." You cry, breaking from the kiss and hugging her tight. She shushes you and calmly rubs her hands against your back. "I love you Hazel. I love you so much." You look up at her with dazed eyes. "I love you more my love." Hazel whispers kissing you on the head.

Yours Truly
This is part 11 to my Skz poly fic. I'm glad you guys seem to enjoy it these have been kinda soothing writing. This one's kinda short but I promise next chapter will be longer.
Previous<<<<< Next>>>>>
Warnings: mentions of sex, doesn't go in description though
It had been 4 days since that date. You were kinda surprised and upset that you hadn't gotten a text or a call from any of the boys. Maybe you should've texted? Well that's what you were doing now.
You only had 2 of their numbers. Felix and Changbins. You decided to text Changbin knowing he'd probably text back sooner or at least you had hoped he would.
'Hey Bin I was wondering if you wouldn't mind making a chat with all of the boys?'
You watch as you look back at your computer screen. You were elbow deep in notes and typing up papers for work. You weren't even at the office though. You had gotten an email from your boss letting you know that the office was still closed and it probably would be for a while longer.
You didn't mind though. You didn't hate the work but you hated the people. They were all stuck up thinking they were too good and talking behind each other's backs. If the money wasn't good you'd probably quit. It was such a toxic working environment.
Your phone lights up.
'Of course I don't mind.' Changbin texts back.
His text brought a smile to your face. Within seconds you get texts from all 8 boys.
'Hi Y/N it's Chan' one text says.
'Im sure you already know who I am 💋' you chuckle of course you knew who it was.
'No she doesn't all she knows is that you sent a kissing emoji Ji' You laugh at that knowing it was Felix. Of course it was Felix who had always joked with Jisung.
'Don't be stupid already you two I'm Hyunjin' the text says.
'We'll come in Seungmins room right now' Felix texts and you laugh.
'I wish you guys would' Hyunjin texts back.
'Do not come in my room' a text says from who you assume is Seungmin.
'Dont test us' Jisung texts.
'You guys won't' Hyunjin texts back then there's no reply from either of them.
Instead there's another text. 'See now this is why I lock my room door 😑' Seungmin says and you laugh.
'Ignoring our 3 ridiculous boyfriends I'm Minho' a text says.
'It's Jeongin, I.n. or Innie whichever you'd like to call me' Jeongin says and you smile at his words remembering how the boys had called him Innie when you first met.
'Hi Innie' you text back.
'Hi Y/N' Jeongin says back.
'You already have my number but it's Changbin.'
'Well I'm sure you guys all know who I am then' you text in the group chat.
'Of course we do' Chan texts back.
'Hows work going' Jisung who is now back asks you.
'Its been taking up most of my time even though I'm not at the office and probably won't be for a while' you text back.
'Oh why aren't you at the office' Minho asks.
'They're adding a new floor which will probably end up taking a month or so' you text back.
'Well if you're not busy tomorrow could you stop by and help me redye my hair blonde the roots are starting to show and I hate the uneven colors' Felix texts.
'Why not me again' Changbin asks.
'As much as I love and cherish you and would do literally anything for you I'm not letting you help me again you almost had my hair fall out' Felix texts and you laugh.
'I literally read the directions' Changbin says.
'You read the directions but didn't set a timer after 30 minutes I asked you how much longer you said like 10 minutes then after the 10 I asked you again and you said a little bit longer it was almost an hour before I washed out the hair dye and I was terrified my hair was going to fall out 😭' Felix says.
'That's fair' Changbin says and you laugh.
'So will you Y/N please 🥺' Felix asks you.
'I'll try my best to get all my work done for tomorrow done today and then head over there and help you tomorrow 😊' You reply back.
'Thank you so much!' Felix says and it makes you smile.
'Of course' you text.
'Since you're coming over tomorrow why don't you help me cut the ends of my hair' Jisung says.
'Dont you guys have hairdressers?' you ask.
'Yeah but they're not you' Jisung says and it makes you smile.
'Okay I'll come help you but I'm reminding you Ji I'm not a hairdresser' You say to him.
'Don't be upset when your bald tomorrow Ji' Hyunjin texts and you laugh.
'Im not that bad' you say.
'Hey if I'm bald tomorrow at least I'll be bald and happy knowing Y/N cut it' Jisung says and you laugh.
'Ji I love you and I'd do anything for you but if you go bald you won't ever see me again' Hyunjin says.
'So you love me for my hair is what I'm hearing' Jisung texts.
'Please do not make Jisung bald' Minho says.
'I wasn't planning on it😂' You text.
'I'd be upset bc I like pulling his hair during sex' Hyunjin says and your surprised by that text but quickly realize it was Hyunjin and Jisung asking you and teasing you about Felix so you weren't as surprised.
'Really Hyunjin? Now was the time to text that' Chan texts.
'Now or never and it's true so what's the problem' Hyunjin texts.
'Well I'm not making Jisung bald so you'll still be able to pull his hair' You text.
'See Y/N gets what I'm saying are you a hair puller too?' Hyunjin asks. You laugh.
'You don't have to answer that' Seungmin texts.
'I don't mind but to answer your question it depends on the person' You texts back.
No one texts back for a second. Maybe you shouldn't have answered that.
'You're driving me crazy' Hyunjin texts back.
'You're not the only one' Jisung texts.
'You have no idea the effect you have on us do you' Minho texts.
You're surprised by all those texts and look away from your phone for a moment trying to calm yourself.
Another buzz brings you back to reality.
'Stop being horny we need Y/N to finish her work so she can can come over tomorrow' Felix texts.
'Don't pretend you weren't affected by it Lix' Hyunjin texts.
'Like I said let's let her finish her work'
'Fine' Hyunjin says.
'Bye Y/N!!!' Jisung texts.
'Bye Y/N see you tomorrow' Felix texts.
'See you tomorrow' Hyunjin texts.
'Bye Y/N have a good night' Chan texts.
'Hopefully if I'm not busy with work I'll see you tomorrow' Minho texts.
'I'll see you tomorrow Y/N' Jeongin texts.
'We'll see you tomorrow' Seungmin texts.
'Sorry for the craziness we'll talk tomorrow' Changbin texts.
'Bye you guys I'll see hopefully all of you tomorrow' You text back.
With that you turn off your phone going back to your computer. You really needed to finish all your work for tomorrow so you could go over there.
You didn't realize how much you loved seeing the boys and how much you missed talking to them. They all had their unique personalities and you loved that.
You needed to finish this work so you could see them so you push them from your thoughts for now typing again on your computer.

This is not an update to the Comic, but it still has something to do with it !!!
(call it a little gift for the Wish Rewrite and KoW fandom)
Hello my little stars! How are you?
I mentioned in the last post in the series that I would be traveling for a week or two and that's why I wouldn't be working. Well I'm still traveling Lmao.
It's been a lot of fun, I'm visiting my Prince Charming and family, both of whom I haven't been to in a long time. Still, I couldn't stop thinking about KoW and Wish's Concept Arts. Disney sealed the fate of its fan artists by discarding so much good material, now they are embedded in our minds and we will not be able to rest until we see them realized. This is crazy but it's beautiful to see how much these discarded concepts generated creative potential in the fandom.
Because of all this I couldn't help but make some small sketches! And well, I came to show them here. They are not sketches of Comic panels, but they have something to do with it and I will show the photos and explain how.
Tumblr media
This first one, very faded, are Magnificent and Amable's clothes (designed by @uva124, for the characters in @annymation's rewrite of Wish "The Kingdom of Wishes"). The drawings that Aled did are very complex, I don't judge her for that, in fact I thank her, she gave beautiful clothes to the centuries-old Disney villains and they are perfect. I really wish I could draw them with all the details, but I will do everything by hand, alone and seeking a minimally professional quality (I want to be a comic artist/book illustrator one day. This comic is my first step Lmao, and I want to do something that conveys the best I can give at the moment), so I need to make some things easier for myself. The costumes are one of those things.
" Better something simple and well done than complex and poorly done." — This is my motto for this Comic and for my life.
The next sketches are related to aesthetics. I've been watching a lot of "Analyzing the Art" videos of some Disney films and I was inspired to adopt some "Disney Style" features in my arts for this comic (not everything obviously, because I don't want to be sued by Disney lmao).
What you'll see next is me trying to mix this influence with my own style in some KoW character sketches.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(this last art specifically references a meme in which @rascalentertainments tagged me, Thanks for that, by the way! <3 )
Tumblr media
(credits to the artist, I don't know who it is because I was just tagged in this meme and I was busy So I didn't look for more information, but I'll leave the post link and you can check the official credits)
Speaking of aesthetics. Anny received Chiara's aesthetic from someone — the north star, "daughter of Aster", created by his magic at the very end of Anny's fanfic. This Aesthetic inspired me to create an aesthetic for Asha and Aster too and these were the results:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What's your favorite?
Lmao, It took a lot of work to make Aster's. There are almost no things for "starboys" on Pinterest.
I'm leaving this up to you to share as you wish, consider it a gift to the fandom!
Lastly, I want to say that the artistic analysis videos They also inspired me to put together a moodboard for KoW and I'll be leaving it here. Not even Anny and Aled know about this and I can't wait to see their reactions! I wish I could print this painting and leave it on the wall, but unfortunately I don't have a printer T-T.
This moodboard is helping me with the artistic direction of colors, style and is a visual motivation to stay active at work.
I hope you like it too!
Tumblr media
That's it for today, it's already midnight in Brazil and I should be sleeping instead of posting crazy things on the internet. I'm going to tag my friends and go to sleep, Lmao.
Kisses full of light and stars!
~ Emy
@wings-of-sapphire @flicklikesstuff @frogcoven88 @chillwildwave @gracebethartacc @gracebethartacc @kstarsarts @oh-shtars Come and get your therapies after the anguish caused by certain publications by Anny!

Some spoiler-y obervations on today's SNW episode, "Hegemony":
I'm really glad we got to see an adult Gorn that looks more humanoid. When Sam found those anomalous human readings I was really concerned they'd go with a "TOS Gorn a weird Human-Gorn hybrids" thing.
ERICA GOT TO SAY MULTIPLE SENTENCES IM SO HAPPY
I was 100% sure Batel was gonna die when she made a log entry at the start :D Pleasently surprised by how that went
I kinda wish the Gorn weren't such a drawn-out plot with SNW. The feeling I'm getting is that they're just doing "Arena" but with eight episodes scattered over three seasons and I don't really see how that's gonna be better than "Arena". For what it's worth I'd love to get a closer look at how Gorn society in SNW actually works, like how did y'all build those spaceships if you keep cannibalising everyone. And to this episode's credit they did tease in that direction.
Definitely more on board with Scotty by the end of the episode than at the start. I really hope we can keep Carol Kane next season and have her mentor Scotty. I like what SNW has done with Spock, Uhura, Chapel and M'Benga; so I'm optimistic about Scotty, but my first instinct whenever a new major TOS character appears is generally to groan.
How exactly does a demarcation line within a solar system? Like, I'm no physicist, but don't planets usually rotate around stars? Wouldn't that shift planets in and out of Gorn/Federation territory depending on the time of year? Incidentally, there's a Trek novel (by Peter David of course) that explores that exact situation, where a planet is in (IIRC) Tholian territory for two days every year.
Pike's voice when he says "Spock" after seeing the destroyed Caygua is just TT
Seeing Pike interrupt Battel's mission here with a subspace phone call, I wish we'd see that more often the other way around. "Sorry honey, can't talk right now I have to make the pirates revolt against their captain, I'll call you back later okay?"
Love the music cues reminiscent of TOS. And I'm glad in general that the post-Berman Trek shows got to recover from the "sonic wallpaper" directive.
The Starfleet delta pattern on the space suits is really distracting. Like, I know I'm supposed to look at how they're hand-holding but wow, that is a lot of deltas!
It kinda rubs me the wrong way that Spock and Chapel killed the Gorn on the Cuyaga, just when the planetside story gets all about how maybe we can talk with the Gorn. Probably doesn't help that the Gorn took like ten seconds to suffocate and seemed to be in excruciating pain throughout. Like, c'mon Chapel, shoot him already, it's be more merciful.
I think SNW is actually quite clever with connecting its Gorn continuity to that of TOS. The SNW Gorn ships like very different from the TOS ones, which is great because in "Arena" no one recognizes the new ship. The Gorn are only revealed as the perpetrators in conversation with the Metrons, so I think it's feasable that Kirk just doesn't know of them (as long as his relationship with La'an doesn't get any further) and the rest of the crew didn't want to interrupt during the conversation with the seemingly very powerful Metrons. After Kirk is teleported by the Metrons Uhura screams, because 60s show (she should be used to teleportation right, being in Starfleet), but the SNW retcon that she knows of the Gorn and their horrors really gives that moment new depth and makes it less silly.

TNE Fandom where are you?
Sujin shippers where are you?
I have Fics to Rec
I don't really go out of my way to rec fics (and I dunno why I have never done this before on tumblr), but BY GOD, have these two fics taken a special place in my heart.
I ADORE everything about them.
They are both Suho x Hajin ships
But the ship aside, I am so incredibly grateful for the authors to have brought them to life and allowed us to read these absolute GEMS of a fic in this little, little fandom of The Novel's Extra.
Really, y'guys have no idea how giddy and excited I get at every update.
Now, the fic in question?
1. Flowers of Agápē by DescendedGaia (Not sure if the author has a tumblr or any other social media... but lemme know if you want me to tag you :) )
Kim Hajin is a failure. There's no two ways to look at that objective truth. It's a truth that resonates through how others look at and ridicule him. It's a truth that echoes infinitely inside his head, compounding and doubling down on his inadequacies. It's a truth, despite the unconditional love of two parents that soothe but cannot dispel those haunting doubts. Kim Suho is simply perfection. The desperate vessel and ideal of Hajin's "ifs" and wishes. Because Kim Suho, the protagonist of Hajin's novel, is everything Hajin wants to be for his parents and more. But, that same story falls apart at the seams the same way Hajin has lost faith in himself. Yet, as the common narrative dictates, everything begins anew with an innocuous email requesting to remake Hajin's novel, his desperation and desire incarnate.
*** Alternatively, the extremes of Korean culture break Kim Hajin into someone who feels much more acutely, and everything shifts to the left.
This is such a MASTERPIECE. Hajin's characterisation in here is just *chefs kiss*. For me, thats one of the biggest plus points in this fic. Hajin is so much more emotionally sensitive in here and feels far more acutely than in the orignal, as should have been.
This fic has been adressing almost all the points that made me frown at or dislike in the orignal novel and manhwa (and from what I can notice, almost every one too).
This fic is kinda a rewrite of the orignal novel, (tho the author follows the manhwa flow of the story) with added Suho interactions, and such good characterization of Hajin, I fell in love at first read LMAO.
So far, there aren't any major spoilers (unless you read the author end note, where they give their own tid-bits of the chap, which sometimes contain spoilers too, or go to the comment section which may sometimes give you spoilers to the novel lol) If you are caught up with the manhwa, or atleast the season 1 of manhwa, then so far there won't be any spoilers for you!
And I think i'll stop talking about it here cuz if I keep going, I think i'll end up giving in-fic spoilers Lmao
(Oh, btw, this updates every other thursday! So far, it's been consistent in its updates ^^)
So onto the next fic!
2. Mountain To No one by @thek1ngtalks (as k1ng0fn0b0dy on ao3)
There's a number on his smartwatch that leads to nowhere. Suho's gotten in the habit of texting it throughout his day. Today, it texted back.
_ Or, in a world missing Kim Hajin, everyone is worse off. Fixing this starts with (a lot of) text messages between a protagonist and his missing piece.
And Man.... where do I begin? I have SO MUCH to say about this fic but I think i'll end up spoiling the whole fic if I start lmao. It's just so good dammit. Just gonna say that this fic takes after the end of the novel, after the conclusion. Only couple few remembers Hajin in the orignl right? Well, in this fic, nobody does. But Suho is probably (???) Going to be the first to remember... I dunno tbh, the fic is only 2 chaps in (and yes, I really adore it already)
I love what the author did with Suhos character and how he is dealing with the aftermath of... everything. Same goes for Hajin, and I love where they seems to be taking this fic. How they characterizes these two main characters and everything.
Listen, I have a LOT to say but i'll just end up giving spoilers so really go read it for yourself. This is another MASTERPIECE of a fic and I am so grateful for its presence in this little TNE fandom TT
Really, thankyou for such amazing fics authors!!
And that's all from me!! Lol I was so excited while writing this XD (could you tell? Lol)
(I edited this post twice because of all the typos I ended up making in excitement LMAO)

Hello! I just followed you and I want to say that I LOVED the waking up with Luci fic. I think you nailed his sweet side perfectly, and I loved the text at the end
If you are still taking requests, I’d love to ask for Zhongli with #9 and #19!
Awww, thank you! Hopefully, future fanfics will keep up that level! Also mmmm, Zhongli, you have good taste.
• Zhongli and (9) jealous kisses/(19) Hiding their face in the other’s neck
Tumblr media
"Isn't that amazing, Zhongli?!"
Normally, Zhongli would marvel at the object of your attention with you, even if he saw it already and knew its history like the back of his hand. After all, seeing you happy was precious, and it gave the seemingly ordinary object a great value.
Although this time… this time, your words of praise made him grimace, but only on the inside. On the outside, he remains calm, standing behind you as he comments:
"Huaguang Stone Forest is more impressive."
"Oh, well, maybe. I never saw it from up close since it's too dangerous for us, and I heard that Adepti gets mad if you go there!"
"Hehe~ Here you don't have to worry about such things!" Venti chimes in, a cute bard that was kind enough to be your guide; Zhongli frowns. But he didn't have the heart to drag you away as you were so amazed by the giant tree. It was indeed amazing, a grand tree with crystalflies dancing around you; he smiles when you try so hard not to squeal with joy.
"If you take my hand, I'll gladly get you on top of this tree; the view is amazing!" Zhongli's smile disappears. He truly didn't want to destroy your fun, you planned your visit to Mondstadt for months, and there wasn't a week you didn't mention it. On the other hand, Zhongli doesn't miss the glance from the bard, the gleam of mischief - Venti clearly wanted to poke at those dragon parts. Zhongli shook his head; how childish, he refused to act like this.
"Oh, sur—"
"We will be late for our reservation." Zhongli cut in nonchalantly, not even looking at you but at the setting sun. Your hand freezes before it can even touch Venti's, instead, you were compelled to grab Zhongli's outstretched one.
"No worries~ Tomorrow, I'll show you the Barbatos' Statue! The view from its hands is amazing!" Venti bids you goodbye with those words, as you two walk towards Mondstadt. Zhongli loved your voice, it was more soothing than any song, more addictive than listening to any storyteller. And yet, today, he couldn't bear listening to you. How you coo about the beauty of Mondstadt, how great the statue looks even from afar.
"I know Morax is all around the world thanks to Mora, but having such an amazing statue has its own charm!"
Wasn't Mora better? That little statue could be destroyed in a second, and he could create hundreds of those if only you wished for it. Mora couldn't be destroyed - it was the blood of Teyvat, that Liyue was its heart.
"Zhongli, you think we could go to Inazuma next year? I heard that their Archon still walks among them! It would be so—"
The night hides his feverish kisses, only a cat was there to witness how he pushes you against the wall, how his lips steal air from your lungs, words from your lips, thoughts from your brain. It was so rare for Zhongli to be riled up, animalistic even with the way his fingers dig into your hips. But the man couldn't help it, needing to reclaim you, remind himself that no other nation could steal you away, no other archon could amaze you as much as Morax. No other man nor woman could see you breathless, eyes hazy with confusion yet beginning for one more kiss - he was way more generous than any Archon, granting your wishes.
Tumblr media
For a being so old, no wonder there were days when he missed the old times. You loved to poke at him, calling him "old man" or saying he was born in the wrong generation - Zhongli always smiled, not having the heart to tell you the truth. For as long as he could, Zhongli wanted to keep the illusion of you two being a standard pair. Not burden you with the knowledge of his godhood, of you leaving him behind so soon.
Because of that, he had to carry this burden alone; today, it was way heavier. The day seems never-ending, with Zhongli longing to see you, maybe to make sure you still were by his side. He thought he hid those desires well enough till Hu Tao dismissed him from work with a sigh, saying that his lovestruck puppy eyes didn't match the business.
The door closes silently behind him, your shared home - not yet spouses, but more than shy lovers - filled with a familiar aroma. It makes his heart fill with a sour-sweet emotion - the sweetness of memories and the sourness of them never coming back to life. Sometimes he was anxious that one day, this house will be nothing more than a museum of such sour-sweet feelings. That one day, he won't see your shoes as he takes off his. That one day, he won't hear your humming as he walks deeper into the house. That one day, he won't see you standing in the kitchen, focusing on cooking too much to notice him.  That one day, the—
"Zhongli! You scared me!"
—will be less lifelike than songs engraved on disks.
"You're home early." You pout but don't protest as his arms sneak around your waist; his body feels heavy as he leans on you, head hidden in your neck. "Well, happy to see you too, but you ruined the surprise."
Zhongli hums, too drained to speak yet still aiming to entertain your talking, not wanting to leave you hanging. You smile and pet his hair; his face nuzzles into your neck.
"I made mantou and char siu. You like those traditional stuff, so… I thought I might try making something like this." You feel how his breath hitches but quickly returns to normal; calm, deep breaths tickle your skin. You wonder why he was so quiet, you got used to how talkative your lover was - now he communicated by squeezing you, drawing you closer to himself.
You were perfect for him: considerate, caring, so sweet. But also so delicate and fleeting. Zhongli needed to engrave this memory - the warmth of your body, the softness of your flesh, the gentleness of your hand - forever into his brain.

No Hero
Hobie Brown x reader
Word count: 600
Warnings: mentions of blood and death, angst, time jumping/skipping
Summary: why hobie helped miles.
Notes: this happens after every thing gets sorted out also this is very different from the comics (sorry for bad writing)
———————————————————————
"Why'd you help me?" Miles and Hobie were sitting on top of the Brooklyn tower. In Miles' dimension, enjoying the view from so high up.
"What'd you mean?" Hodie asked, turning towards Miles.
"I mean well when everyone else was on me for going against a cannon event you were there to help me" miles admitted. "Why did you do that?"
Hobie stayed quiet for a moment getting lost in the past.
——————————————————————
(Going back in time)
'This was it,' Hobie thought 'today was the day that he'd take down Kingpin.'
It was all planned out. The spider army and him would go to Kingpin's headquarters. The spider army would take the bottom levels while he'd take the top. Leading the spider army would be his beautiful y/n.
They had been telling him for weeks how excited they were. That they'd be fighting alongside spider-punk and finally be taking down "that good for nothing autocrat!" As y/n had said to him, hobie multiple times.
Y/n didn't know that spider-punk was her best friend, Hobie Brown. It was for the best but now once Kingpin was taken down he could tell her everything.
As he swung around a building he saw the spider army already at the bottom ready to fight. Just as planned y/n was right up there already pushing at the guards.
Once he had swung around hyping up everyone they started the attack. Going just as planned. As the fight was going on he'd get glimpses of y/n fighting tough and nail. At one point she'd picked up a pipe and swung it like a mad man for anyone that got too close.
"Kingpin!" He shouted finally finding that snake. "Where you've been?" Jumping off and kicking him right in the face sending him tumbling to the ground. Hobie started running toward–
"Aaaaaaahhhh" Hobie stopped dead in his tracks.
'No' he wiped around towards the scream. 'No no no no no no. Not them please not them.'
He turned the corner around some rumble and saw y/n laying on the ground with a blood stained shirt.
"Oh no no no." He dropped to his knees next to y/n. "You're gonna to be okay, it's gotta to be okay I'll take you to the hospital will get you help"
In the midst of the scene he'd completely forgotten he was in his suit covering up his face. He couldn't think about that now y/n needed help now.
"Who…" y/n squinted streaming to see the figure above them.
"You know me!" He didn't mean to yell but the fear of losing her was taking its hold.
"Hobes?" Y/n's voice was weak as they reached for his mask, taking it off.
"Yeah it's me love"
"How do you fit all that hair under there?" Y/n smiled weakly.
"You're bleedin out and that's what you're thinking about?" He couldn't decide between laughing or throwing up at the blood that's coming out. "I need to–"
"No."
"What?"
"I said no"He was dumbfounded. 'It's the blood loss' he thought 'she can't think straight'
"It's too late for me Hobes."
"I can't lose you." Hobie was cradling y/n by now.
"It's okay," she said.
"I can save you," Hobie said, getting to his feet.
"You're no hero" and with that y/n took her last breath.
——————————————————————
(Back to the present)
"Just lost some good ones to it s'all" Hobie answered.
"Well thanks you saved me," Miles smiled.
'Wish I could save everyone' hobie stared down at his hands 'but I'm no hero.'

Chapter Three: Invisible String
Warnings: Innuendos, lots and lots of pre-wedding nerves, sexual situations (kinda)
Word Count: 5.2k
Lover Masterlist
Previous Chapter | Next Chapter
Avery and Jensen's wedding day.
She had a floaty feeling inside her when she woke up. Earlier than usual. Last night, it was hard for her to go to sleep. She was way too excited. Anxious, even. Avery glanced at the man by her side and smiled. Jensen was happily asleep, snoring every now and then.
As planned, Avery would go over to the cabin where Elena and her boyfriend stayed to get ready with the other bridesmaids. Before that, Avery wrote down a little note on the paper provided by the venue for when Jensen woke up. She knew he'd want to see her one last time before he was busy with the groomsmen so she thought she'd leave him a little something to show her remorse. But also happiness. They were going to get married. And Avery couldn't be more ecstatic.
When Jensen did wake, he frowned when he felt Avery's side of the bed was cold. He pushed a hand through his hair to get it out of his face when he noticed the note on the nightstand.
Good morning, mon amour
Jensen’s eyebrows furrowed. Avery knew French? He learned something new about her every day. He loved it.
Today's the day we're bound together by law. But I think we were always bound together by fate. I feel as if I always should have known you. Or maybe we simply met at the right time, right place. You certainly are the right person.
I'm sorry I wasn't there when you woke up. Wedding traditions and all that shit about bride not seeing groom on the morning before the wedding or else bad luck !! But I promise, when you do see me, you won't even know why you were upset about it in the first place.
Have a little fun in Misha’s cabin. Or whatever you do with your friends.
Love you,
Avery <3
Jensen let out a small laugh. He quickly put on some sweatpants and a T-shirt. He and the groomsmen planned to get ready in Misha's cabin which he shared with Rob and Rich. They were also going to order breakfast before he got there so they could have it ready. He grabbed some sneakers and slipped them on to make his way over.
Misha’s cabin wasn't too far away but it made for a nice walk. Jensen looked at the trees surrounding him on the trail. Morning sunlight peeked through tall leaves and branches. The mountains were beautiful. Jensen took a deep breath of the crisp air. He couldn't help the smile that made its way onto his lips. The day was already perfect. And he knew it was just going to get more perfect from there.
“Someone's already glowing,” Misha commented as he answered the door. “Did y'all have a quickie last night or something?” He teased.
Jensen gave Misha an unimpressed look as he entered, being hit with the smell of freshly made bacon and eggs benedict. “I wish. But no.” He grabbed a plate and hummed once he started to dig in at the table.
Rob and Rich already sat there, an empty plate in front of both of them. “You have to give us something. What's Avery like in bed?” Rich asked with a wave of his fork.
Jensen shook his head with a laugh as Misha sat at the table as well. Rich’s inquiry was harmless. Mercer was by the kitchen counters, sipping coffee as he tried to will away his ability to hear. If he projected his thoughts louder, maybe he would be so distracted that his brain wouldn't be able to comprehend what he was hearing.
Rich awaited his answer. “She's… good. I'll give you that.” Jensen relented.
“That much is easy to tell.” Misha commented with a chuckle.
“Oh, c'mon, you can give us more than that. You trust us, don't you?” Rich pressed with a teasing frown while Rob snickered next to him.
Jensen let out a breath and stared at his friends, a disappointed look in his eyes. “You really think I'm gonna explain to you how my wife dicks me down?” After the words left his mouth, he realized what he had done.
Rob pumped a fist in the air. “Yes!” He laughed as Rich reluctantly handed him a fifty-dollar bill.
“I can't believe this.” Rich sighed.
Jensen looked between Rob and Rich before he glanced at Misha. “They had a bet going on.” He explained with a shrug. He already knew the dynamic of Jensen and Avery's sexual relationship. However, the way he found out was not by choice.
The groom finished his meal and let out a sigh as he leaned back in his chair. The ceremony wasn't for another few hours but nervousness started to bubble in his chest. Jensen didn't want to be late. If there was such a thing as being late on his wedding day. “Where's Josh?” He asked as he set his plate in the sink. Jensen felt like he needed his brother, just to have some familial support. His parents were likely on a hike so he wouldn't know where to find them.
“Taking a hike with your parents,” Misha answered. Shit. Jensen let out a shaky breath. “Hey, c'mere,” Misha guided Jensen into his room. Their suits hung up in the corner of the room on a rolling stand. “What's up?”
Jensen sat at the end of the bed and buried his head in his hands. “I don't know what's wrong with me. I'm so in love with Avery but it's like it just hit me that I'm going to marry her. I'm… afraid.” He shook his head, lips forming into a thin line. He was a mess. He knew it. Why did Avery choose to marry him again?
Misha sat next to him, rubbing his back. “You don't want to mess up. That's understandable, Jay. But I don't think Avery or you are gonna fall out of love anytime soon.” He soothed softly. Seeing Jensen like this hurt him. The man was usually very confident and collected. He knew what to do all the time. It was strange to see Jensen not know what to do.
Jensen let out a deep breath. Misha was right. The anxiety was just eating away at him. In reality, there was nothing to worry about. “Okay,” He drew in breath. His heartbeat was starting to calm. “Okay.”
After his mini-breakdown, Jensen decided to get ready. Avery had specifically packed Jensen a bag of products she knew he liked. His favorite cologne, hair product, a few face masks, a tube of mascara—it was the only makeup product he knew how to properly use—and a single blush palette that came with a brush.
As an extra way to calm himself down, Jensen did the facemask first. It said ‘relaxing’ on the label and he sure needed some of that. It felt a little weird on his beard but he ignored it. The rest of his skin started to tingle, signifying it was working the way it was supposed to.
Mercer let out a small laugh when Jensen made his way out of Misha's room to grab something to snack on. “Finally opened up Avery's bag, huh?” He asked with a smile at the edge of his mug. He switched his coffee in for tea.
“Yeah,” Jensen murmured shyly, popping a handful of trail mix in his mouth. The saltiness paired with sweetness was exactly what he needed. Avery packing Jensen a bag of self-care essentials started to become a thing after he got his apartment in Columbia and he had to leave for his first convention she couldn't attend with him. “Even when she's not here…” He glanced down.
“She knows how to calm you down?” Mercer finished for him, chuckling softly.
Jensen nodded, shaking his head slightly. Sometimes he hated how easy he was to read. Jensen finished up his light snack and went into the bathroom, throwing the mask in the trash and turning the knob of the sink on. He cupped his hands in the water, washing his face. He grabbed a nearby hand towel and dabbed it against his face to dry it.
Afterward, Jensen grabbed his suit and got undressed. He spritzed a bit of cologne on his neck, styled his hair the way he wanted, and put on the makeup Avery provided him with, trying his best to remember how she did it. He lightly brushed his cheeks with blush and pursed his lips as he brushed some near his hairline and forehead. Then came the mascara which he was a little scared about. Jensen's mouth dropped open as he flicked the mascara wand across his lashes. He hissed when it accidentally got in his eyes and a few spots of black appeared underneath his eye.
In a panic, Jensen tried to wipe it off but that just made it worse. He reached for his phone and clicked on Avery's contact. She picked up after a few rings.
“Wassup, honey?” The sound of her voice, even if it was a little teasing, made Jensen feel a lot better.
“I, uh, I got mascara on my face. How do you get it off?” His disheartened voice made Avery concerned, if a little delighted that he felt so alarmed about messing up his makeup.
Jensen could hear her shifting a little on the phone, assumedly cussing someone out in the background. Likely Elena because she wanted to know who Avery was on the phone with. “Sorry about that… Uh, let it dry for a few seconds. Depending on how much you got on there, I just lick my thumb and rub it off. Easy peasy. No one’ll notice.”
Feeling reassured, Jensen nodded. “Thanks, sweetheart.” He did as instructed, using the pad of his thumb to wipe at his cheekbone. Sure enough, the little drop of black disappeared.
“No problem, honey. Now, I gotta get this dress on or Elena might do it for me. Love ya.” Avery hung up before Jensen could respond.
He sighed as he set his phone down on the bathroom counter. “Love you too.” He knew Avery was busy getting ready too but a part of him felt a little dejected. Jensen glanced back at the suit hanging on the door.
As Mercer advised, Jensen went with a black double-breasted suit that had narrow gray pin-stripes. The button-up was a simple white color while his tie was a deep navy color, almost black but light enough it was recognizable to be blue. He pulled the pants up his legs and zipped them up, appreciating the way they fit. Jensen wasn't sure why he was surprised, it was made specifically for him. He tucked the button-up underneath the waistband of his pants and sighed.
It hit Jensen all over again. He was getting married. His heart rate picked up. Jensen smiled to himself as he fastened his tie around his neck, folding his collar over it. And then came the blazer. Jensen shouldered it on, buttoning it up. Only one. He breathed as he saw himself in the full-length mirror in Misha's room. It was the first time he saw himself in the full suit. The other times were just for fittings. The blazer hugged his waist in ways Jensen knew Avery would go insane over.
He let out a small chuckle as he pushed his hands into his pockets, mind running wild with ideas. Jensen adjusted the navy pocket square in his blazer before he made his way back into the living room.
Misha whistled at the sight of him. “No wonder Avery likes you.” He teased. He wore his designated suit. It was a solid navy color with a vest and a black tie. He and the rest of the guys changed in Rob and Rich’s shared room. He was the first to get done changing.
Like a weight off his chest, Jensen let out a laugh. One he needed. “Yeah, well… She's pretty hot too.” He hummed as he leaned against the table.
“New hot celebrity couple alert.” Misha joked softly. But was it really a joke?
Avery's popularity was quickly skyrocketing and not because of Jensen. A lot of people talked about her book and she admitted she was working on another one, an original story this time.
And then, of course, Jensen. He was breaking into the mainstream with being in The Boys and a slew of other shows he wouldn't have had the opportunity to be on if Supernatural was still going. Contractual obligation did that to an actor.
As Jensen stood at the end of the chapel he took in a deep breath. Most of his friends and family sat in pews for the second time but that didn't make it any less nerve-racking. Hell, it made it more nerve-racking. He tried to focus more on the decor of the chapel. The wooden arch to his side had vines with blue and purple flowers hanging off it. The chapel itself was built similar to the cabins but far more grand with exposed beams holding up the high ceiling where a few chandeliers hung to light the whole building.
“If you break down now, I'm sorry to say I'd laugh.” Misha whispered behind him, patting his shoulder. Jensen laughed softly.
It was the only reaction he could muster before “Here Comes the Bride” started to play. Their wedding was going to be traditional—mostly—their reception, not so much. The bridesmaids started walking down the aisle until Elena and then Avery with Jacob.
Jensen drew in a sharp breath. His eyes dilated at the sight of her. Her makeup didn't differ too far from what she wore regularly—winged eyeliner with a neutral shade of brown in the sockets of her eyes—but this time she wore a vibrant red lipstick. A string of pearls wrapped around her neck. And then there was her dress. Fuck. Her dress. God, he wanted to worship her. Have her tell him what to do to worship her properly. He could easily make a religion out of her and he'd love to be her most devoted follower.
When Jacob and Avery made it to the end of the aisle, Jacob set her hands in Jensen's. “Don't fuck it up.” Her brother glared at him and then made his way to the pews. He sat next to the only other blood relatives of Avery’s that were invited to the wedding. Her cousins, Grace and Noah. Jensen hadn't met them before but Avery said they were from Chicago so that was part of the reason.
Jensen looked into Avery's eyes and smiled, feeling happy tears well in his eyes. She simply smiled back. She had a feeling he'd get emotional and she was more than okay with that. They weren't listening to the minister, a little too caught up in admiring each other's eyes. Avery wondered if the bayou of Louisiana was of similar shade to Jensen's eyes while he thought about if he was on the Titanic and the shards of ice from the glacier looked like the ones in Avery's eyes, he would have happily stayed on the boat.
“Jensen, have you prepared any vows?” The minister asked, breaking the pair out of their trance.
Jensen let out a cough to choke down his emotions as much as possible. He nodded, grabbing a crumpled piece of paper from inside his blazer. He held onto Avery with one hand as he took a breath and started to read. “I really don't know how to… put how I feel into words so I thought I'd share when I knew I was going to marry you.” He could hear Elena let out an ‘aww’ which made him and Avery laugh softly.
“It was November 8th, a few days after I moved and we were lying in bed in my apartment. You were watching some video essay on Skyfall, paused in the middle of it, and tried to express how much you thought it was the best Bond movie of all time. I say ‘tried’ because you never completed your sentences. At least, in a way I could understand.” The people in the pews let out a laugh. Jensen glanced up from his vows at Avery. Her eyes were shining with tears underneath her glasses. Even on her wedding day, contacts were the bane of her existence. “Then you ranted about how much of a masterpiece the song was. Which devolved and devolved until you started to talk like Benoit Blanc.” Avery let out a flustered laugh. “I simply listened. I love nothing more than to hear about what you love. And I want,” Jensen rasped as he pushed his vows back into his blazer. “I want nothing more than to hear you talk like that every night for the rest of my life.”
Avery wasn't sure how she'd top that but she'd try. After an applause from the pews, it was time for her vows. “Jensen Ackles, am I right?” She joked to the crowd which earned her laugh, easing her nerves. Not by much. She didn't have anything written down and thought she'd wing her vows but that proved to be a bad idea. She was at a loss for words. “I kind of… didn't write anything down.” That earned an amused look from Jensen.
“But, I—uh—do want to talk about you. I mean, of course I do. You're you. You're so loving and affectionate and open and so fucking hot and I can't grasp I get to have you for the rest of my life. I felt so… weary of straight cis people I didn't already know.” Avery admitted softly. Jensen nodded. It was for good reason and he knew that. “You're the most accepting man I've ever met in my life—besides my brother—and you were so prepared to throw away your entire family if they didn't like me for who I am. Like it was nothing. That, in itself, made me feel special. And then you stood up for me in front of my parents,” Jensen's jaw tightened at the mention of them. “And I couldn't believe how much it made me love you that much more.” His eyes softened, still brimming with tears. Avery held his hands tighter and smiled brightly at him.
The minister gave Jensen and Avery identical silver rings. “Do you, Jensen Ross Ackles, take Avery Selena Cairo to be your lawfully wedded wife? To have and to hold? In sickness and in health? Till death do you part?”
“I do.” Jensen said softly, slipping the ring onto Avery's finger. His pulse started to hasten again. But not because of nerves anymore. He was excited. Extremely happy.
“Do you, Avery Selena Cairo, take Jensen Ross Ackles to be your lawfully wedded husband? To have and to hold? In sickness and in health? Till death do you part?”
Avery nodded eagerly, “I do.” She slipped the silver band onto Jensen's finger. For once in her life, she hadn't taken her eyes off him since the start of the ceremony. How could she? Jensen looked drop-dead gorgeous.
“By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the groom.” The minister smirked.
Jensen let out a small laugh before Avery cut it off with her lips. Her hands found their place on his waist while his naturally gravitated to her shoulders. Avery pulled him as close as her dress would allow and poured every emotion she felt into their kiss. It made Jensen dizzy in the best way possible.
Avery tried to pull away, not wanting to give the audience more of a show then they already had, but Jensen chased after her eagerly. She couldn't deny him that easily.
“That's enough, cowboy.” Avery whispered against Jensen's lips after a few seconds. He sighed as he looked into her eyes.
Jensen took her hand and looked at the people in the pews. He held up their interlocked hands and couldn't help but brag. “I have the fucking hottest wife!” Avery’s lips formed into a thin line, embarrassment flushing her cheeks with a mix of happiness at his pride.

Before the reception, Avery and Jensen had a few moments to themselves in the back of the venue. It was much needed since Avery had the feeling she needed to isolate herself after being around so many people for so long.
“You're my husband.” Avery whispered, caressing his jaw gently. She wasn't sure when it'd sink in but it wouldn't be anytime soon.
Jensen leaned into the touch. “And you're my wife.” He said dreamily. This whole ordeal felt like a dream that he didn't want to wake up from.
“No, no, no, I don't think you understand.” Avery argued softly, shaking her head. “You, Jensen. I used to watch you on TV and here you are… with me.”
Jensen thought it would feel unreal for Avery. And he was right. Their whole relationship was dreamlike. “Karma is the guy on the screen coming straight home to me.” He sang softly as he intertwined his fingers with hers and placed a kiss on her jaw.
The universe worked in mysterious ways and Jensen genuinely believed Avery deserved some light in her life after all the shit she'd been through. That just so happened to be him. And, well, Jensen wasn't having the best time either before they met. He must've done something good to deserve Avery in front of him, loving him.
Karma is a two-way street after all.
As the reception officially started and guests filtered in, Elena found the time to introduce her boyfriend—Mark—to Jensen. They hadn't met before because Mark lived in upstate South Carolina and when he visited, Jensen and Avery intentionally scheduled date nights at the same time.
“This,” Elena nudged Mark's shoulder and smiled. “Is my boyfriend.” The man next to her looked to be around the same age she was and his eyes were horrified.
Jensen stared down at him. Mark was only a few inches shorter than him but Jensen was built and broad whereas Mark was lanky. Any twenty-year-old in their right mind would be intimidated by him, even slightly. But Jensen was as close to a father figure as Elena could have without him being her biological father so that added to the feeling of dread in the back of Mark's mind.
Jensen stuck out his hand for the younger man to shake. “Nice to meet you.”
Mark obliged, hand sweaty. “Yeah, uh, you too.”
Like she was in her own little world, Elena led Mark to their assigned table with a bright smile on her face.
Avery laughed next to Jensen, shaking her head. The look on Mark’s face was priceless. “Y'know Mark had the same face when we met for the first time.”
“Did you ask what his intentions were with Elena ‘cause I was about to ask the same thing.” Jensen joked softly as he wrapped an arm around Avery's waist.
Food and drinks started to be served after that. A chunk of red meat, potatoes, and spears of asparagus, swimming in some sort of red wine sauce that Avery had to stop herself from drinking. And then there was the cake. Black frosting with four tiers that had blue roses on the edges of each one. Similarly to Avery's birthday, the flavor of the cake was chocolate but, instead of strawberry filling, it was cream cheese.
A bunch of phones and cameras started flashing as Avery and Jensen fed a piece to each other.
Then came their first dance as husband and wife. Their shared slice of cake sat at their table as Jensen guided Avery to the middle of the dancefloor. A crowd gathered around them to watch. He set a hand on her hip as she set one on his shoulder, their other hands were intertwined off to the side of their bodies.
We could leave the Christmas lights up 'til January
And this is our place, we make the rules
And there's a dazzling haze, a mysterious way about you dear
Have I known you 20 seconds or 20 years?
Avery's choice. And Jensen couldn't help but let her make it.
Can I go where you go?
Can we always be this close forever and ever?
And ah, take me out, and take me home
You're my, my, my, my
Lover
Jensen looked into Avery's eyes, trying to memorize every single detail of them through her glasses. The outer rim of her irises that were darker than the rest of her eyes, the little shards of color that looked like glass, the way her pupils were so large when they looked at him.
We could let our friends crash in the living room
This is our place, we make the call
And I'm highly suspicious that everyone who sees you wants you
I've loved you three summers now, honey, but I want 'em all
Avery adjusted her hand on Jensen's shoulder, feeling more emotional than she expected. She would've expected to have felt it earlier but, no, this felt like she had finally sealed her fate with him.
Can I go where you go?
Can we always be this close forever and ever?
And ah, take me out, and take me home (forever and ever)
You're my, my, my, my
Lover
A few drops of liquid happiness rolled down Jensen's cheeks, a crease between his eyebrows as a wide smile graced his lips. Avery shared a similar look. She pressed her forehead against his as they swayed together. Jensen happily breathed in her space.
Ladies and gentlemen, will you please stand?
With every guitar string scar on my hand
I take this magnetic force of a man to be my lover
My heart's been borrowed and yours has been blue
All's well that ends well to end up with you
Swear to be overdramatic and true to my lover
And you'll save all your dirtiest jokes for me
And at every table, I'll save you a seat, lover
It was strange just how accurately the lyrics described their relationship. Jensen and Avery had done so much in such a short amount of time. They moved in together and had a whole life planned in front of them. But Avery wouldn't mind a few bumps in the road or stops at different attractions, that's what made the journey so fun in the first place.
Can I go where you go?
Can we always be this close forever and ever?
And ah, take me out, and take me home (forever and ever)
You're my, my, my, my
Oh, you're my, my, my, my
Darling, you're my, my, my, my
Lover
As the last few notes rang out through the speakers, Avery brought Jensen closer for a kiss. She wiped at his cheek to wash away the droplets from his skin.
After their dance, it was free for everyone else to go onto the dance floor. Jensen and Avery still held each other, an identical smile on their faces. She cupped Jensen's jaw and bit the inside of her cheek to stop herself from smiling so hard. Her jaw would hurt in the morning.
“I think I understand what Taylor meant by invisible string.” Avery hummed once they sat back down.
Jensen cocked an eyebrow, amused by the admission. “Oh? Share with the class.” He teased softly.
“Fuck, you're turning into me.” Avery laughed, eyes screwing shut as her shoulders shook.
“I don't think that's a bad thing.” Jensen planted a kiss on Avery's temple before he planted another on the back of her hand.
Out of the corner of his eye, he could see Elena and Jay dancing together. They looked to be having a ton of fun. Sammy had found one of Jensen's cousins to dance with while Jacob and Mark stood awkwardly next to each other. Misha had opted to dance with Tessa and Mackenzie interchangeably.
Avery wiggled a little in her chair. “This dress is so beautiful but I can barely fucking move. It's so damn big. I should've had an outfit change or something.” She complained softly. She wanted to dance more with Jensen or Elena. Or Misha. Or in general.
“Just makes it all the more fun when I take it off you tonight.” Jensen whispered into her ear, arm draped over her shoulder.
Avery let out a breath. “That a promise?” She challenged softly before she took a sip from her champagne flute.
“One I intend to keep,” Jensen nodded, hooking a finger underneath Avery's chin. “If you'll let me.”
Avery smirked into her glass and let out a small chuckle. “Good to know you know your place in the relationship.” She winked, a mischievous glint in her eye.
Jensen raised an eyebrow. As if he hadn't the whole time. “I think it started when we made out at the edge of my pool, sweetheart.” He admitted as he thought back to their first kiss. It was rough and heated and perfect. “You were on top of me and I–” He swallowed, stopping when he remembered Avery was there too. Of course she would have remembered it.
“And what?” She pressed.
“And I knew I was fucked. The good kind of fucked.” Jensen finished with a fond smile.
Avery watched Jensen intently. He had changed so much in the span of a year. Even just physically. Painted nails, mascara, eyeliner that one time, blush, and a few new tattoos. Then there was his newfound fierce allyship. She didn't know why but she always assumed Jensen would be like any other straight guy she found on the street. Sure, she'd heard stories that he was nice and accepting toward queer people but actually doing something was a different story.
Jensen was a lot more vocal than Avery expected him to be. Maybe she had a part in that, being trans and all.
Avery pursed her lips, glancing back at the party happening in front of them. “I think… maybe we should christen the Impala tonight.”
They could easily sneak out of the reception and park the Impala in the middle of nowhere and no one would notice until the crowd started to dwindle. But Avery thought it'd be better until they waited for the reception to properly end. And so she could change into something else. She had a feeling, that even with how much space the Impala had, it would be a hassle to take it off.
“Yeah,” Jensen swallowed, “Yeah, okay.” It was like he'd been waiting for those words for months. Ever since he brought the Impala to Columbia.

CHAPTER EIGHT: Epilogue // Previous chapter // Masterlist
Wordcount: 5.9K
Summary: When two people are meant to be together, fate will always find a way to bring them to each other. It's just that sometimes it's not under the normal-est of circumstances. But a flower that blooms in adversity is the rarest and most beautiful of all, and Bradley will be ready to go through anything for the love of his Blossom.
Warnings: none for this chapter apart from tooth-rotting, diabetes-inducing fluff that will melt your insides and you will shart them out like yesterday's chilli, Bradley and Blossom get the happy ending they fucking deserve woo-fucking-woo!
Song inspiration: Lover by Taylor Swift
A/N: I'm really happy with the ending of this story, it was a joy to share it with all you wonderful people. I don't know you and I wish I did so I could give each and every single one of you a hug (because you basically made me a little happier with your support over the last few weeks). I'm definitely gonna write more about Bradley and Blossom, I already have head canons and shorts in the works, and if you have any thoughts share them, I'll be happy to stay in the bubble I've created with these two lovebirds for as long as I can!

Bradley drummed his fingers against the steering wheel, vaguely keeping in rhythm with the song playing on the radio. Either that or the blinkers, he wasn’t exactly paying attention. He’d put on the radio to pass the time, but had inadvertently failed to pay much attention to whichever mixtape he’d shoved into the player.
The mid-afternoon sun was beating down on the Bronco as it sat in the same place next to the sidewalk for the past twenty minutes. Even with the air conditioning on, the late August heat was uncomfortably warm on Bradley’s forearms. He reached over for the glove compartment, searching for the small bottle of sun cream that you’d casually dropped into the shopping cart few weeks prior.
‘I can’t allow you to keep getting sunburnt and then wait for it to just go away on its own, Bradley’ you’d justified the off-the-shopping-list purchase and Bradley merrily followed along. He wasn’t going to pretend that the cream hadn’t done miracles for his face whenever you joined the Dagger squad for a weekly trip to the beach.
So he lathered a good amount of it on his arms.
He checked his watch again; he couldn’t tell if you taking so long was good or not. The interview would’ve finished by now as you were given a very specific time slot. But if they kept you longer, that could only mean that they were interested in you and Bradley would think them stupid if they didn’t.
Bradley leaned his head back against the seat and stared out his window at the vehicles driving past him. When he got too agitated doing that, he pulled out his phone and checked for any missed calls, messages and emails. When he found none, he opened his internet browser to — at the very least — complete today’s game of Wordle. After three tries he got four of the five letters down and it was a piece of cake to guess the word. How many times a day does he even use or think of the word fjord?
He checked again to see if you were exiting the building, but there was no sign from you. Just tall French windows that led into a specious lobby with a simplistic receptionist desk. Behind it was an entire wall covered by a vertical garden, consisting of some ferns and other things that you’d most likely know the name of. You’d know how to take care of them, how to pair one plant with another depending on the type of soil, which time of year they’d be best to plant and when they’d flower. Bradley really hoped the interviewers would see that.
The past three months had been filled with change for you; three months since the-dick-who-will-never-be-named turned up at the Hard Deck to try and strong-arm you into going back to L.A. with him. Over my dead body, Bradley had thought then and that position hadn’t changed one bit. You had been pretty shaken up by the ordeal and he remembered that night as well as he remembered the first time you showed him the bruises on your neck. He’d feel angry for what that guy did to you, then he’d grow sad that there wasn’t more that he could do, but those emotions were opposed by two stronger ones: admiration for how strong you were despite your sweet and soft nature, and adoration.
You’d cried your eyes out on his chest when you were both back at Penny’s, laying in bed. Bradley had made sure to keep your injured hand on his chest so it would stay elevated during the night. You’d taken some ibuprofen to reduce the swelling and help with the pain, but no pill could’ve helped with the sadness that washed over you the moment you laid your head on his chest. Bradley’s hand on your hair had smoothed it down repeatedly and very gently, aware that you might be anxious to allow him to do so after having it violently yanked at by that guy. Whispered reassurances and words of praise were the only thing that had accompanied your sniffles as your breathing eased and you had finally fallen asleep in Bradley’s embrace.
Many things had changed after that night.
All for the better, of course.
Once Phoenix and Frankie had returned from L.A., with all your belongings hastily stuffed into boxes or bags and their promise that your ex would never look for you again, your days began returning to the normalcy they’d assumed over the past month.
Penny had started taking you to see her therapist which furthered the improvement. You were more relaxed and felt calmer around people, you’d told Bradley. You had stopped looking over your shoulder every time someone walked through the doors of the Hard Deck.
‘I’m gonna start looking for a job in some landscaping companies,’ you’d told him whilst out on a dinner date. Bradley couldn’t be happier; after the amazing job you’d done with Penny’s backyard, it was clear to him that you had a talent and it deserved all the recognition you could get. So you’d put together a nice portfolio, containing pictures of your work at your last place and plenty of your most recent one.
Bradley’s personal favourite (and he’d made sure to get a copy of it) was a picture taken from the steps to the backyard, early in the morning when the light of the morning sun shining above the roofs of the house behind lit up all the flowers and made them glow in deep oranges, reds and pinks. The picture was a testament to your skills as a gardener and captured a place and a time that was so special to you both.
Bradley had attached it to his visor so even now when he pointlessly pulled it down just to stare into his own reflection and kill a few seconds, the picture made him feel as warm as the sun rays looked on it.
The passenger door opened and climbed onto the seat next to Bradley as he snapped the visor shut. He leaned over and gave you a quick peck with a murmured hello again, baby before you reached for your seatbelt.
You always looked pretty, in anything you wore and particularly when you wore nothing at all. But today you looked stunning; a crisp white blouse with the top two buttons undone, fitted jeans and your black sneakers that were double washed, the white rubber polished to perfection. You looked every bit professional and beautiful, from your exposed, delicate ankles to your hair which had gone through the most drastic change over the past few months.
After the incident, you had spent days where you felt uncomfortable with your hair, with its length and how it brushed against your shoulders. It pained Bradley that he couldn’t fully understand the extent of your pain and that he couldn’t help you. As far as he knew you had a very special connection to your hair that your mother had nurtured in you from an early age. So having something so special for you attacked… it made sense when you came up to him one afternoon and asked him to drive you to Penny and Amelia’s hairdresser.
The neat pixie cut you’d gotten fit you so well. At the salon, Bradley had tried to stop string at you through the mirror but he had been so terribly excited to see the light come back to your eyes when you ran your fingers through your much shorter hair.
Three months later and it had started to grow slowly, more noticeably around your ears and at the back of your neck. Your fringe would fall across your forehead and tickle against your eyelashes. The hairstyle allowed for your ears to poke out from the sides and give you very elf-like look which you wore well.
Most importantly, you seemed comfortable in your body and that was all Bradley needed to know.
He watched you patiently as you settled back in your seat and placed your tote bag in your lap with a somewhat dejected sigh.
His heart gave a pang at the sound.
‘Didn’t go well?’
‘No, no, it was great,’ you replied with a small smile, but a pout was in the corner of your mouth. ‘It’s weird… They liked the stuff in my portfolio and I like the company. The stuff they do is really diverse, like, they’ve been contracted to do maintenance on some botanic gardens around the state.’
‘That’s cool.’
‘The salary is good as well. Not that it’s all that matters, but it would give me my financial independency back, you know.’
Bradley nodded. ‘So what’s wrong then?’
‘Twenty rejections from companies that are much less stellar than this one,’ you explained softly. ‘Doesn’t make sense why these people would want to hire me. I’m supposed to get a call back tonight to know for certain, but I really don’t wanna get my hopes up.’
Bradley started the jeep and clicked the indicator before turning left to get onto the road. He lifted his hand from the shift stick at the first red light and placed it tenderly on your knee. Your own hands came atop his and he gave your leg a squeeze.
‘You might be overthinking it, Blossom,’ he said softly and with an equally soft smile. ‘I’ll tell you what, let’s go grab lunch and do some last minute shopping for the barbecue tonight. Don’t think about the call, don’t think about work and when they do call tonight, I’m one hundred percent sure it’ll be to confirm you’re hired.’
‘You think so?’
‘Like I said, hundred percent sure,’ Bradley assured you. ‘Do you want grab some Taco Bell then.’
You tilted your head and gave him a look that said do you need to even ask, making Bradley chuckle to himself as the traffic light turned green.
‘But we’ll have to get Amelia some too,’ you added. ‘She’ll smell it on us from a mile away and give us grief about not also getting her some.’
Tumblr media
After a quick trip to Taco Bell, Bradley took you to the nearest park to eat your lunch. He stopped the Bronco near the edge of sprawling grass area where families and their children were enjoying the sunny day. The line of tall trees that surrounded the park casted a colourful shadow on the ground and allowed instant relief from the late summer heat.
As the two of you got out of the car, you grabbed the paper bags and let Bradley helped you onto the hood of the Bronco. The metal was warm from sitting under the sun for so long but was not too uncomfortable to sit on. A gust of wind blew through the trees, rustling through Bradley’s half-opened shirt and cooling his heated skin a little.
Bradley leaned back on his palms as he watched you take item after item from the take away bags and array them in a small feast. You scooted closer to him and threw your legs over his, stuffing some fries that were generously dipped in melted nacho cheese in your mouth before feeding him some too.
Bradley hummed contentedly, taking your wrist in his hand and bringing your fingers to his mouth to suck on the spice that remained on your thumb. You choked out a half laugh, half gasp and he let your hand drop to his chest, grinning devilishly your way.
‘Did I tell you you look gorgeous today?’ He asked softly.
You playfully rolled your eyes, ‘Only ten times since this morning.’
‘Only? Man, I should’ve been into three-digit numbers by now, I’m falling behind.’
‘It’s okay, you can make up to me,’ you quipped, handing him a taco. Bradley took it from your hand but immediately put it down on his side as he instead placed his hand on your cheek and pulled you in. His lips pressed against yours without any urgency, just simple affection.
Bradley pulled back just to leave a quick peck to the tip of your nose. ‘How’s that?’
‘Perfect,’ you sighed through a grin. You turned a little in your place to lean against Bradley’s chest and munched on a quesadilla. He took the taco you’d given him from the hood, unwrapped it and bit down on the crispy shell.
The light shined through the tree canopy to paint your tangled legs in sunspots. The distant sound of laughter and dogs barking were still louder than cars driving outside the bounds of the park and submerged you both in a sense of calm.
Bradley pressed his nose to the crown of your head and smiled as the sweet aroma of your cocoa butter shampoo hit his senses. It also reminded him of rubbing said shampoo into your scalp earlier that day while your arms were lazily rubbing the loofah down his naked back and he was loathe to admit just how smug that memory made him.
‘Can you believe it’s been four months already?’ You quietly asked. Bradley shook his head against yours and you leaned further into his touch.
He could very easily believe it in fact, because he remembered each and every day he’d spend with you in his life, from your first meeting to this day. He’d made up a calendar in his mind and at the end of each night when he’d lay his head on the pillow and you’d curl around him like his very own koala bear, he’d blissfully cross out yet another date.
You lifted your hand to his mouth again to feed him a couple more fries. ‘Feels like yesterday,’ you admitted through a smile. Bradley hummed, kissing the top of your head again to give his wordless agreement.
A couple of children that had been chasing a ball some distance away from the Bronco, kicked it close enough that it bumped the front left tyre. The two giggled as they skidded off to retreat it, drawing near the car and being momentarily distracted by your make-shift picnic. Bradley stifled a smile into your hair as you waved and warmly greeted the two kids.
They waved back, but otherwise seemed more interested in the abundance of junk food you were surrounded by. They were quickly warded off by their parents who yelled at them to behave and don’t bother those nice people, Jeremy so they hastily retrieved the ball before running back towards the grassy knoll that was their playground.
Bradley reached around you for the carton cup holder and offered you your drink before pulling out his. As he slurped the chilled Pepsi, he heard the soft sigh you let out as you noticeably turned your head against his shoulder. His hand that was holding the cup dropped down and he tilted his face so he could peer down at your pensive expression.
‘Are you okay?’
‘Yeah, yeah… um, would you ever want one?’ You fully turned your face to look at him and your eyebrows scrunched adorably. ‘A kid, that is. I know we’ve never discussed it and I don’t know if you think that three months is too early to be talking about children.’
‘Yeah, I’d love to,’ he gently interrupted your worried rambling and your face visibly relaxed. ‘I’m guessing you do, too?’
‘I’ve always dreamed of it. Not yet though…’
‘Hey, there’s no rush.’
He caught the edge of your mouth drawing up in a smile as you turned your head back around to watch the tranquil park. Bradley rubbed your shoulder with his free hand and kissed your temple.
Of course, he’d thought plenty about having children and as of these past few months, he’d started to picture that life with you. He agreed with you that it was still very early in your relationship, but that didn’t stop his brain from delving into those deep caverns in his consciousness that contained all his desires of a happy, family life. A couple, maybe three kids — you’d always have final say on that subject — and maybe a dog, he’d always wanted a dog.
‘Bradley,’ you softly called his name and he hummed in response, prompting you to continue. ‘If I manage to get a job—’
‘When you get the job,’ he corrected, still firm in his decision that this last interview had been a success and you were simply overthinking it.
‘Okay, okay.’ His whispered good girl was met with a tiny noise of appreciation as you wiggled your shoulder against him and looked back up at him. ‘When I get the job…’ Bradley bobbed his head in a nod and smiled around the straw of his cup, ‘where do you want us to live? Because we’re still mostly living at Penny’s, but we’ve been to your place on base a couple of times.’
‘And you hated it,’ Bradley chuckled at the memory of the first time he took you to his assigned flat on North island and the thoroughly unimpressed face you pulled when he parked the Bronco in the driveway.
‘I didn’t exactly hate it,’ you argued. ‘It’s just… there’s no place for me to do gardening and that’s a deal breaker for me.’
Bradley nodded along.
‘I wanted to know what you thought. If you wanna move fully into that flat, then I’ll just get pots and grow herbs in the kitchen. That’s good enough for me.’
But that wouldn’t be enough for him; Bradley wanted whichever place you ended up living in to be as much yours as it was his. He didn’t want you to make that big of a compromise because he knew how much you loved tending to plants. Pots of herbs in the kitchen were fine by him, but not as your only source of diversion.
There was also the subject of his work and the general sense of uncertainty that came with it. How long would he be stationed on North island with the rest of the Dagger squadron? His last stint at the Golden Warriors lasted about five years and the only way they’d let him stick to his current location was if he married. Which wasn’t an altogether bad idea, just a little early for him to be popping the question. No matter how much it suddenly appealed to him…
‘Here’s my plan.’ You settled your hands in your lap as you patiently waited for him to elaborate. ‘Let’s wait for you to start the job, see how you feel there the first two or three weeks, and we can start looking for some place in the area. And we’re getting a house with a sufficient garden space so you can do your magic, that’s a deal breaker for me as well. What do you think?’
Bradley felt his heart swell with joy when he saw the excited smile that grew on your lips before you planted them briefly on his and your delicate hand rested against his chest. Just above where the thumping organ was making every effort to jump right out of him and land in your palm.
‘I think it’s a wonderful plan,’ you admitted quietly after parting your lips from his. ‘Let’s just see if they actually hire me before we set anything into motion.’
‘They will hire you!’ Bradley argued and you laughed in response. He shook his head. ‘Oh, I’ll try really hard not to gloat when you get the call back to confirm it.’
‘Alright, alright,’ you poked his ticklish side, making Bradley convulse and let out a very high-pitched shriek. He took your by the arms — ever gentle whenever he held you — hoisted you over his lap and dig his fingers just below your left armpit where he knew you to have a very soft spot.
You squealed with laughter as he tickled you and wiggled against his arms without the actual desire for him to let you go. Bradley stilled his hands against your side, his fingers dropping down to hold onto your waist as your giggling quieted down. You grinned up at him with your bottom lip caught between your teeth. Bradley lowered his face, his mouth ghosting against yours and leaving a trail of gooseflesh wherever he almost left a kiss.
‘Bradley.’
Your sigh of his name was perhaps one of his favourite sounds, made him positively feral.
Bradley lowered his mouth to your neck and felt you twitch against his chest when his moustache rubbed against the soft skin, just below the line of your jaw. Your mouth opened by his ear for another soft sigh to come out out, impale his senses and drive all the blood from his body down to his cock. Your reaction to feeling him grow harder beneath your ass was instantaneous and you chuckled somewhat triumphantly.
‘Why do I feel like I’m winning at this despite you having me pinned down,’ you purred against the shell of his ear and Bradley felt a full body tremor go through him when your hot breath brushed his skin.
‘It’s ‘cause I’d let you win at anything.’ His soft admittance was muted against the slope of your neck where he began sucking a small, but evident enough love bite.
‘Now where’s the fairness and gen- gender equality in that?’ Your response came shakier than you probably intended; what you did next was to slowly lift your chin up and allow him more access.
When Bradley pulled back to examine his work — the nice round red shape that was partially covered up by the collar of your blouse — he felt warmth rush to his face and neck at the sight. Leaving a love bite like that was so horribly base and primal, but something about it was mildly arousing. Mine, it claimed and a deeply embarrassed groan rumbled in his chest.
Bradley dropped his forehead on your shoulder. You softly laughed, ‘Aw, what’s wrong, Mr Big-Strong-Navy-Man?’
He loved your teasing. The first time it happened was like the sun had come out and he was seeing you differently, not in a bad way but in a wow-my-girlfriend-is-fucking-amazing kind of way.
‘As much as I’d enjoy you marking me like that,’ you began softly and made Bradley lift his head to look at you. ‘I’d much rather you do that when there aren’t any children nearby.’
‘You’re right,’ Bradley nodded and kissed the tip of your nose. ‘Maybe I should’ve also waited till after the barbecue, huh?’
You hummed and tried to peek at the small red love bite. ‘I dunno. Isn’t that kind of the point of it, show it off?’
There was a humorous lilt to your voice yet it sounded so serious that Bradley’s breath hitched. If you really wanted it he’d leave all the love bites he could, in every place on your beautiful body where you wanted him to. His impassioned thoughts were momentarily ceased as you held up a finger.
‘And though I’d love to continue, we really need to get going if we want to beat the traffic and make a pit stop at the supermarket.’
‘You’re right,’ Bradley said again as he helped you off of the hood of the jeep.
You smirked up at him as you gathered the left over paper bags from your lunch. ‘You know, I’m really starting to like the sound of that.’
‘I bet you do, princess.’
You bumped your hip against his and stuck your tongue out before skipping off to the nearest bin to dispose of the trash. Bradley simply leaned against the Bronco and watched you with a half grin and eyes that were trying their best not to stare at your ass as you walked away from him. With you he discovered just how true hate to see you leave, but love to watch you go was.

Frankie’s red Subaru, Hangman’s vintage Ford Mustang and Fanboy’s Toyota were already parked in a perfect line along the curb outside of Penny’s house when the two of you got there. The sun was getting lower and lower on the other side of the two-storey homes that lined the street and the sky was replacing its soft blue hue for an intense shade of pink and orange with only the occasional wisp of a cloud breaking the continuity.
Bradley turned right into the driveway and killed the engine right behind Penny’s jeep, before grabbing the few shopping bags that were sitting on the back seat.
He took a second to take in the look and size of it, a bit narrow in the leg room but still very much specious. He thought that it could potentially hold a couple of booster seats if he—
‘Bradley, baby, are you coming?’
Yeah, maybe he should definitely give those thoughts a rest for now. No use in getting ahead of himself even if the seed was now planted in his mind and there was no way it’d die out with how generously you were cultivating it. Especially with how absolutely ravishing you looked in that outfit.
Bradley jogged around the car with the bags in hand. You offered to take at least one or two of them to help out but he refused, suggesting you head on upstairs if you wanted to change. You kissed his cheek and reminded him to put the cupcakes you two bought in the fridge lest the icing became more like sludge.
Bradley made a beeline for the kitchen after he watched you rush upstairs and disposed the bags onto the island. He could now clearly hear voices and music coming from outside. The steady hum of the cicada song accompanied them in what sounded like a perfect evening to finish off summer before autumn began.
As he was moving things to cupboards or to the fridge, Bradley could distinctly make out Fanboy and Bob’s heated discussion about the team’s plans for Halloween which meant that summer was truly done. Next, they’ll probably have to think about Christmas decorations.
Bradley smiled at the thought of spending Christmas with you, spending any holiday with you really. Made him excited about things he’d spent years avoiding because they used to remind him of just how much he’d lost. But now he had you and the rest of his odd little family which made him eagerly expect the upcoming holidays.
‘Hey, Rooster!’
Bradley turned to see Maverick walk into the kitchen through the back door. He waved at his godfather as he walked up to the pantry in search of something. He muttered under his nose before poking his head out.
‘Did you get cumin by any chance?’
Bradley lifted a small jar with a small grin and carefully tossed it at the older man who easily caught it.
‘Sorry, we’re late, we grabbed some lunch and lost track of time,’ Bradley explained as he folded the shopping bags and put them in their allocated cupboard underneath the countertop. Maverick waved a hand dismissively.
‘That’s alright. Hangman and I just started putting the, uh… vegan sausages on the grill. Any news from the job interview?’
‘They’ll be calling her by the end of today,’ Bradley told him. ‘She’s a little anxious they’ll turn her down, but I think this might be it.’
‘I looked them up online, they do some really cool stuff,’ Maverick explained, reached into the fruit bowl. ‘Do you think orange goes well with beef?’
‘It does. Blossom took me to a Thai restaurant the other week and we had some amazing orange beef skewers.’
‘Alright, I’ll get Coyote to add this to the marinate at the end so we can try it out. Oh, I actually wanted to give you something,’ Maverick put the oranges back down on the counter before reaching into the pocket of his bomber jackets. He pulled his hand out, revealing a small navy blue box with velveteen lining. A ring box.
Bradley looked at his godfather with a slightly bemused expression. ‘Mav, I’m flattered, but I’m half your age and you’re kinda like my uncle.’
‘Very funny, Rooster. Open it.’
Maverick pushed the box towards him and Bradley obligingly opened it up. He paused when in the middle of the cushioned inside sat two rings that he was very familiar with. The smaller one — a thin golden band with a single zirconium rock at the head — had rested on the finger of a hand that held his. A hand that ruffled his hair each morning as a greeting. A hand that he’d cherished like his life.
The larger ring — a simple wide band with no embellishments — he vaguely recalled on someone else’s hand but throughout his younger years, it used to hang at the end of a very long chain, along with two dog tags.
His mother and father’s wedding rings.
Bradley slowly looked up at Maverick whose eyes were still on the box, glistening with mournful tears. He smiled tightly and cleared his throat.
‘These’s, uh… your mom made me promise I’d keep them safe for you,’ Mav explained tensely. ‘Thought it be a pretty good time to give them to you.’
Bradley’s throat closed up as he nodded in understanding, clutching the box tighter in his hand. ‘Thanks, Mav. I— Blossom and I just talked about moving in together into our own place, once she gets the job… these might be a little early.’
Maverick huffed, ‘I know, I know. I’m just really happy for you two, kids. Thought I’d just pass these along as instructed. Who knows… your dad proposed to your mom by the third month of their relationship and that was considered an extremely long courtship in 1985.’
Bradley grinned and swallowed down the sudden influx of emotion that threatened to spill out of him. He carefully closed the box and pocketed it just in time as the sound of your feet pattering down the stairs reached his ears.
‘They called! Oh my god, they called!’
You appeared at the entrance of the kitchen in his UVA sweatshirt and a pair of black bike shorts. Bradley looked at you in excitement, waiting for you to reveal what he already knew. He could see it in your wide, elated eyes.
Your bare feet padded against the wooden floor as you ran up to Bradley and engulfed him in a hug, your arms wrapping around his middle.
‘I’m hired! You were right, I’m hired!’
‘That’s great, baby!’ Bradley kissed the top of your head, his chest filling with instant pride. He didn’t doubt for a second you’d make it even after all the rejections you got from from previous places. He knew that was the place for you.
‘Congratulations, kiddo!’ Maverick came around the island to pat you on the shoulder as you lifted your head off of Bradley’s chest. Your eyes were glistening and the smile wouldn’t fall off your lips whatever happened. He loved seeing you like this, without a single worry hanging over your head.
Bradley kept one hand on the lower of your back as you pulled away. You took a deep breath to calm down but it was obvious that you were too exhilarated. You looked between Bradley and Maverick.
‘Did I interrupt a conversation?’
‘No, no,’ Bradley hurried to assure you.
‘I was just grabbing something for the marinade,’ Maverick added. He grabbed the oranges from the island countertop and made for the back door. ‘Bradley, grab a six-pack from the fridge and let’s head out.’
‘Be there in a second,’ he told his godfather before turning back to you. You smiled up at him and stood up on your toes to give him a kiss, arms coming about his shoulders to pull him closer. Bradley let his own arms wrap again around your waist and rub soft circles though the material of the sweatshirt.
The two of your separated after a moment and Bradley nuzzled his nose against yours, drawing a soft giggle from your mouth. Your fingers clutched at the lapels of his shirt.
‘I’m so proud of you, Blossom.’
‘It’s unreal,’ you admitted shyly. ‘I feel like I need to pinch myself.’
Bradley shook his head. ‘It’s real and you deserve it. Did they say when you start?’
‘Monday next week,’ you told him. ‘I’ll get my own office in their building, but they’ll need me to jump on a project that their previous horticultural expert left. Can you believe it? They said that my knowledge puts me at expert level!’
‘Okay, so we have the whole weekend to celebrate your new title, Madam Horticultural expert.’
You chuckled and playfully slapped his chest.
‘Come on now.’ Bradley jogged to the fridge to pull out a six pack of Budweiser before taking your hand and walked you towards the backyard. ‘My girlfriend got a cool new job and I need to brag about he to all my friends.’
‘Alright then, Lieutenant.’
Bradley grinned widely, an expression was reflected on your own face as he pushed the door open and called out to everybody, ‘Blossom got the job!’
The exclamation was met with loud cheering from the squadron that was at different ends of the garden space.
The picnic table was extended by another small circular table and more chair were added around it to fit the big party. Bob, Fanboy, Payback and Amelia were sitting around the main table, playing Uno which Amelia was seemingly winning to the three men’s dismay. Coyote was mixing up marinade at a foldable table next to the grill with Hangman hanging over his shoulder and giving unnecessary instructions that his boyfriend who was pointedly ignoring them. Penny was making her way over to you and Bradley with Frankie and Phoenix in toe to congratulate you.
Bradley made room for the three other women by taking a small step back, but lingered by your side as he was too happy to even think of going anywhere else. He wanted to stay by your side and see that look of joy on your face every day for as long as he lived.
The box in his cargo shorts weighed down and its importance was not missed by him. Bradley patted it, promising himself to hide it well tonight. He already knew he’d spend the rest of his life with you, he already knew he’d want to have children with you. But if he was going to do it, he wanted it to be a perfect moment.
Tonight was such a moment, but he wouldn’t be able to live with himself if he took away the spotlight from your achievement. You deserved all the praise that your aunt and your friends were showering over you as you swatted them away, humbly promising that it wasn’t that big of a deal.
Bradley felt your fingers thread through his as you pulled him with you to follow the other three women to the picnic table. The two of you were directed to a foldable loveseat by a very smug Phoenix who kept eyeing your neck.
‘Can we can start looking for our own place?’ You asked him as soon you were both sat down.
Bradley reached for two bottles of Bud and handed you one. ‘Yeah, I don’t see a reason why not.’
You smiled brightly as you looked up at him. Bradley wrapped an arm around your shoulders and pulled you closer to himself. Neither of you knew it at that time but the same thought came to your minds as you watched the other; wherever life took you, wherever you lived, that place would be home because it’s what you and Bradley were to each other.

When Kalim had returned and was wandering through the park to find both Jamil and Inky sitting with one of his tigresses he beamed. They were getting along so well! Inky seemed to be laughing about something and Jamil had a little grin on his face, how lovely!
"Jamil! Inky! Guess what! Al'ab Nayira! The Yasamina River Fireworks Fest! We're hosting this year! And my family says I'll be in charge of making rounds and greeting guests this year!" Kalim said, excitement clearly evident in the tone and slightly higher volume. It startled Inky a little. She blinked, trying to make heads and tails of what Kalim, who came over as well to pet the tigress and love on the old girl a little, had just said before turning to Jamil.
"What festival is that? Is it famous here?"
"Yes, it's a big firework festival and a rather popular tourist attraction, it's held annually and every year the wealthy families of Silk city rotate and someone else hosts, it seems it's the Asims' turn this year."
"Fireworks? Really? Are they pretty? I want to see them one day!" There they were again, the little stars in her eyes that Jamil thought were pretty. He wished in that moment to spend the festival with her, even if he was still in denial about his feelings.
"Very! Oh I know! Inky! Why don't you join us? My family said I can invite guests, so what about you and Grim? I'm sure he'd like it here too, considering there'd be a lot of tasty food and stuff!" Kalim suggested, not a bad idea, but Jamil would have to deal with Grim, though he'd noticeably become milder recently.
Unfortunately for Jamil, Kalim had managed to invite four more people to the festival, technically two, those being Cater and Lilia, but they had received a plus one each. On the day of, Jamil had learned that Cater had invited Trey and that the Malleus Draconia would also be attending, not to mention that apparently Lilia had come down with something after his last meal the night before. He swore under his breath he'd grow grey early, if Kalim hadn't already managed to make it happen and he'd somehow deluded himself into not noticing.
It wasn't that terrible at least, but Grim fell into a Canal among arriving and a small history lesson about the building of Silk City and its economy by Kalim and Jamil ensued. Cater was already snapping pictures as well. Everyone else seemed stunned as well as the conversation drifted to the fact you could see the Asim family's house from where they were.
"Woah! That place is.. totes huge! That's your house Kalim?" Cater asked, more than stunned, which the Asim heir confirmed and Jamil added that it was a landmark of the city and that any taxi driver would know where to go when you told them that the Asim estate was your destination.
"It's kind of unbelievable.. hey prefect, you don't seem all that phased by this, why's that?" Trey said in a low voice, then questioning that Inky, who had been quietly listening, someone not of this world, was so unsurprised.
"Oh that's because I was here last week for an afternoon, Kalim was nice enough to get me some nicer clothes since mine were thrifted and after frequent use.. kinda busted" She answered honestly. "We weren't inside though, I was outside with Jamil when Kalim was talking to his parents"
And that was even more surprising but not dwelt on for long as the cars came to pick them up. Well, it wasn't cars, it was a car, a 15 meter long custom made limousine with massage chairs and fridges apparently.
"Jamil, can I sit next to you during the ride..?" The prefect semi-whispered to the Silk City boy.
"Hm? Oh yes.. sure, if you would really like to, I don't mind.", was his reply, though he sounded more enthusiastic than his quiet wording may suggest. So for their ride they did sit next to each other. Inky, in her comfortably listening to music fashion, slightly leaned on Jamil when the car went around a roundabout and didn't realise she was still leaning his way. And Jamil didn't care to move her since the slight weight didn't bother and she seemed comfortable, kind of like a sliver of that morning last week.
When they arrived at a park, the one with the tigress from, again, the other week, the others were even more impressed. At first it was by the beauty and then it was because it belonged to the Asims. They walked a while until they reached the Asim residence itself. Again, Cater and Trey, as well as Grim and somehow Malleus as well were sort of astonished. Though they did compare the roofs to turnips, onions and pumpkins, and Inky guessed it made enough sense. It was then suggested they go inside and Kalim dropped the bomb on them that he'd had traditional Scalding Sands clothing prepared for everyone in advance. That was a welcome surprise and now everyone was very excited, even Inky was. It showed in the pitch of her voice, as she did speak a little more. She may be on the quiet side but she had a lot of thoughts that she voiced when comfortable and appropriate.
Upon actually going in to change they were greeted by a huge ballroom and Cater immediately took Trey for a spin, though Trey was more just getting flung around slightly they both had fun. Malleus had a grand time watching but left to change first out of them all. Kalim was just outside keeping Grim company as Grim and him had no outfit to change into, as grim was too small and Kalim was to wear his dorm uniform. Back in the little ballroom Inky was watching Trey and Cater and she wanted to twirl around too, though she wasn't all that good at dancing as she'd never done it before. She didn't want to mess up in front of people she liked and thought were cool so she stood and watched with a very obvious expression on her face. After Trey and Cater left to change it was Jamil that cleared his throat next to her, which made her look over. He was holding out his hand for her to take.
She hesitated, "What if I step on your toes or fall?" But Jamil only shook his head at that.
"I don't mind. You.. do want to dance a little.. yes?" He attempted to reconfirm, wondering if he'd read her wrong and his offer was ridiculous, but his thoughts were interrupted when she did take his hand. He pulled her close, beginning to guide her slightly with light squeezes from his hands and vocal cues like which way to step. She was clumsy, but it was nice, and they were so close. She really enjoyed it all. So Inky smiled, right up at him when she had slightly gotten the hang of it enough to not have to look at her feet, only to find he was already looking at her with a small smile, a fond look. And that only made her smile more as they stilled and drew a little closer, blush spreading on Inky's cheeks. She couldn't hide it from Jamil. She didn't need to. Jamil drew closer, they were so very close until the steps of servants approaching echoed and Jamil withdrew, taking a step back but not letting go of her hand yet.
"We should.. we should change" he said in a quiet voice. He didn't want to, not yet when they had been so close. They were so close he could've- no, no he shouldn't think about that right now! He had to change!
"Y-yeah.. we should.." Inky responded, in a sort of disappointed tone. Was she hoping Jamil actually would..? No, can't be, not him. Sure she may still care for him and wasn't scared of him, but love him? After his Overblot? Absolutely not. No way. So begrudgingly they both separated to change into their respective new clothing.
The first to go back outside were Trey and Cater, followed by Malleus who all had only positive things to say about the outfits and their intricate patterning.
Next was Jamil, who had said he felt like he was truly feeling like he was home now that he could wear traditional clothing and he looked incredibly handsome. And then finally Inky emerged in her new attire, silently opening the door and slipping out, clearing her throat gently. "I'm done changing..!"
Inky came out in a more feminine version of what the others wore, silk and fabrics colored in deep blues and purples adorning her body, tied and wrapped to resemble a dress. The silken belt adorned with charms, tassels and bells drew attention to the natural waist, which was a nice detail as her usual clothing hid her more curvy figure. Another fabric was tied around her hips, small coins dangling from it, an intricate firework pattern weaved into the silk made it all the more beautiful. She wore the same type of petal-sleeve vests the guys wore, only smaller and slightly looser. If only to show off the silken tube-top she'd been given to wear underneath, also a deep blue. Under her skirt she was given a similar type of legging to the guys as well, only hers ended slightly higher, around mid-calf. Her shoes were slightly different, they had an actual t-strap to keep them in place and a small, comfortable heel. Anklets adorned her ankles much like the jewels adorning her golden wrist guards and hands. Her hair had been braided and put up nicely in a half up, half down do with the silk head wrap braided into it partly. Her makeup was done too, her eyelids shimmered and her lips were glossed, she looked stunning.
Jamil's eyes widened, this time he stared at her. He couldn't believe that she looked this gorgeous right now. Not that he didn't think she was pretty before but this, this was a whole new level. He was convinced the beautiful princess from the old tale of the Sorcerer of the sands had walked out of the estate. His heart beat out of his chest as the slightest hints of red rose to his cheeks as he absolutely struggled to keep his composure. He swallowed thickly, picking his jaw up off the floor when he noticed she was looking at him with a slightly flushed expression. To the untrained eye she was looking at the whole group but no, she was sort of.. staring at Jamil as well.
"Woah! Prefect! You look, like, totally gorge in that! It looks like it was made for you!" Cater commented, totally wowed by how much she looked like she belonged in those clothes.
"I was under the impression that they *were* made for us.. was I mistaken?" Malleus asked, to which Trey shook his head.
"What Cater means is that there was a lot of care and attention to detail on what would suit her was put into putting that outfit together. It's a compliment to the one who picked it and the one wearing it" He explained, to which Malleus nodded. And Kalim agreed, fangirling over how she looked right at home in those clothes.
"Right Jamil?" Kalim said at the end of his little rant, turning to Jamil who had not said a word. In truth the words were hardly registering in his head but he nodded, still taking in the sight in front of him.
Thanks to the others he was able to actually regain his composure and explain a few things like the history behind the bells on the clothing and how he'd feel more comfortable if he'd had to wear less bits and bobs but he was Kalim's staff and thus had to dress up a bit more.
Eventually they decided to take a photograph together, to give it to Lilia afterwards. Inky moved in with the others, taking her spot next to Jamil. Surprisingly their two outfits went rather well together, it looked like it was almost intended. They all looked wonderful together though.
After that came idle chatter and more surprised classmates as the Asim family had apparently over 10 treasuries, which was quite impressive. Turns out that was where Kalim had gotten his magic carpet, something that was about as valuable as a national treasure. A little later they separated from Kalim, going on their way so Jamil could play tour guide for the day.
The first thing they did was visit the venue for the festival, where Jamil told the legend of the festival. Apparently the princess had fallen in love with a, well, street rat, and that a genie had flooded the skies with lights that flickered and sparkled and burst into colours. The onlookers were so very impressed that they commemorated the day in a festival. In that moment Inky thought. She thought if the fireworks celebrated love between two people, would she have a shot at attending this festival as Jamil's lover one day? Such would be a wonderful dream, to kiss beneath the colourful night sky. She got so caught up in imagining that, she didn't realise Jamil was continuing to speak, or even that they were setting out to leave. It was only when Grim had run back quickly after the group had advanced in their walk slightly she was made aware that they were leaving.
"What was that about prefect?" Cater asked when they were together again. While the prefect did answer, Inky looked sort of flustered about it.
"I have ADD-Daydreaming-Syndrome, sometimes I just fade out and daydream, it can be triggered by a train of thought or just happen randomly. The issue is I can't snap myself out of it and I only know it happened after the fact. Sorry.. it's weird I know." She explained, slightly looking at the floor with pink cheeks.
"No no! It's totally cool! Just didn't know you had it, prefect! Thought something was wrong there for a second..!" Cater said. It was then that they arrived at Camel bazaar, a market full of food stalls and beautiful objects and clothing, it was colourful and it all looked very amazing. Apparently it was busier than usual, so there'd be a high chance to find many nice yet unusual things that day.

hi hi! i'm alive! quite inactive due to life but wanted to pop by and drop this little lava plus jake as their son and kid unagami fic that i had planned to make a multi chap out of but i don't think i'll be able to finish so i thought i'd at least have the first chap posted here for anyone who would like to see it!! huge thanks to @articalextraordinaire for betaing this one <3<3 anyways here ya go! its not much but hope the read was worth it!
Today was supposed to be one of the best days of his life. He woke up at 8 am from the sun shining brightly through the window. He didn't even whine and try to get more sleep before his dad came to wake him up, no. He jumped out of bed himself, brushed his teeth, did his own hair, dressed and got his backpack on all before breakfast! Even Uncle Zane was surprised! His dads were confused! But they were still proud of him! He only needed a little help from Auntie Nya to tie his shoelaces.
What’s the special occasion? Uncle Lloyd was finally taking him to work with him! And Uncle Lloyd did not have just any regular job, no. He had the BEST job in all of Ninjago. He was the Green Ninja! And Jake was so excited to be able to hang out with him for the day.
It was supposed to be the best day ever.
But one call from Uncle Lloyd made it all come crashing down.
"But dad," Jake whined, "Uncle Lloyd promised he would take me with him to work today!"
His dad Cole gave him a sad smile. "That was before there was a prison breakout at Kryptarium- which is not the safest place for a kid, Jake." He said, as he prepared to go help Uncle Lloyd. “I’m sure Lloyd will take you with him another day, he always makes up broken promises.”
That did not stop Jake’s sad pout though, it only made it worse. “Kryptarium break outs are so cool! Maybe I could see Pythor or UltraViolet- or maybe even Killow! I wish you could take me with you. I love watching you guys kick butt!”
That made Cole laugh. “I know you do, little man. But we don’t want anything bad to happen to you and those villains won’t stop at anything to make sure they hurt us by hurting you.” His dad ruffled his hair lovingly before he reached over where he sat to grab his hammer.
Jake nodded understandingly. But it only eased how upset he was a little bit. "Then, what am I supposed to do today?" he whined, as he grabbed his dad's hand and shook it. He knew he was being a bit too much because he understood that his family had a responsibility to protect Ninjago. But it was the weekend! He couldn’t waste the weekend!
Cole paused in gearing up to turn his attention to his son. He smiled as he crouched down to meet the boy's height, which was not entirely successful because his dad was a giant. "Well, we asked a couple of friends to take them with you to their work today! I think you'll like them. They're heroes themselves, you know?"
That had caught Jake's attention. Heroes other than the ninja?
"Who is it?! Is it another elemental master? Auntie Skylor? Oh! Is it Queen Vania? Or King Benthomaar?! But wait, I can't breathe underwater.... Is Auntie Pix giving me my own underwater suit-"
"Okay, okay. Calm down, kiddo." His Papa Kai chuckled as he came into the room, lowering himself down next to his husband. "Getting a little too excited over there, bud."
Jake flushed, scratching his head. He couldn't help it. It was so cool to be able to hang out with the amazing people that helped his dads save Ninjago once upon a time. Sure, he’s already met a lot of them and sees his aunts and uncles more often than not. But that’s when they’re just his aunts and uncles and not when they're being superheroes. There is a difference!
His Papa flicked his Dad's forehand, causing Cole to lose his balance and fall on his butt. Which led both Jake and Kai to laugh. After getting himself together, his Dad continued, "well, it's not any of them. But we can definitely reach out to them another time!"
"This time, though, you'll be hanging out with some of Ninjago city's very own local heroes."
"Who is it?!"
"The Paper Boys!"
Jake frowned. Those aren't heroes.
And he said so, making both of his dads hum.
Cole straightened up to stand as he spoke, "You may think that at first but," He put his hands underneath Jake's armpits and picked him up as he stood, making the boy squeal. "They're possibly some of the greatest heroes Ninjago has ever seen."
"Really?" Jake gasped.
"Yup! They even saved Papa once!"
Kai nodded as he got up as well. "It's true. I would've been a goner if it weren't for them diving into the canal to save me when Kalmaar came to get the storm amulet." He shivered a bit, "Doesn't bring up good memories, for sure."
Cole moved Jake to his hip and wrapped his other arm around his husband, bringing him closer. "Thankfully, we're all safe and together. They've done a lot for us," he turned to Jake, "They're immovable and have always held down the fort when all seemed lost. If you think our adventures are cool, wait till you hear about theirs."
Jake was hooked now. He had met them once before but never knew just how much they had done for Ninjago. He felt excitement well up as he hung onto every word his fathers said about the paperboys, slightly shaking with excitement.
"When can I go?" He asked, louder than he meant to. But his dads’ only chuckled.
"How about right now?"
"YES!"
Cole smacked a big kiss on both of their temples before putting Jake down. Kai took the boy's hand and they both went outside the monastery. His dad followed shortly with a backpack with everything they needed from the weaponry.
Outside stood a girl with short hair next to two bicycles. One was occupied by herself while the other looked like Jake's own. It was one of the paper boys, he remembered seeing her around the city. She seemed cool. Was her name Anastasia?
When they came to a stop in front of her, Kai took the chance to introduce them, "Jake, this is Antonia. Antonia, this is our son Jake."
Jake raised a hand to wave but hid slightly behind his Papa's leg. "Hi, Antonia." He wasn't shy! She was just...a little intimidating.
But that changed when she smiled and gave a wave of her own. "Heya, Jake! It's nice to meet you. I've heard a lot about you from your dads."
Jake looked up at his dads at that. Cole rubbed a hand behind his neck and chuckled, "I tend to get carried away talking during patrols." Everyone laughed at that. Cole turned to Jake. "Antonia here is going to take you with her and show you what the paperboys do. You stick close to her at all times okay, little man? And don't cause too much trouble for them!"
Jake nodded enthusiastically, "I promise, Dad!" He had already started hopping his way towards the bicycles when he was pulled back by his Papa.
"Jake," Kai dropped down on one knee and grabbed Jake's shoulders. The boy straightened up when he saw the serious look on his father's face. "Don't go running off somewhere without one of them. You know Ninjago city as well as us, so you know just how dangerous it can get in a blink of an eye. You got your watch on, right? You remember how to send out a signal?"
Shrugging to shake the backpack he had on, Jake nodded. "Yes, Papa. I have to press the side button three times and it sends Auntie Pix my location! I even have everyone's phone numbers written down in my notebook, pepper spray, a map, water and the taser-flashlight Uncle Jay got for me on festival day."
"Say what now?" Both parents said in unison.
Kai shook his head, "Whatever. As long as you know how to use it safely." He sighed, before he gave a crinkly eyed smile that made Jake smile in return. "Have fun today, alright kiddo? I'm sure Uncle Lloyd will make today up to you when he can."
Jake jumped into his Papa's arms when he opened them and snuggled in to savor the warmth that radiated off of him. "I know. I'll be careful. I love you, Papa."
"I love you more, my little lava monster."
"Hey!" Came from Cole before he swooped both his husband and son into his arms. "Don't leave me out of the party."
They all laughed. Jake melted into the hug. There was absolutely no place in the world he felt more safe and loved in than in his dads’ arms. His dad squeezed them both and finally let them down when his papa started elbowing dad.
"Well, we got to go help the others out at Kryptarium Prison." Kai said. He patted his hand on Jake's head before he continued. "Take good care of him for us, Antonia. If anything happens, call us first, okay?"
She gave a mock salute. "You got it, boss." Then she turned to Jake and gestured towards the bicycles. "C'mon! Don't wanna run late for your first day with the paper boys!"
Jake was excited. He gave his dads one more hug to their legs before he ran to gear up.
"So," Antonia started as they buckled in their helmets. "I'll give you a run down of what we'll do and everything when we hit the road, that cool?"
"Yup!"
"Awesome! Also, someone else might be joining us. Nelson already went to get him, I hope that's alright with you?"
Jake nodded again, but asked, "Who is it, though?"
Antonia grabbed her bike as she spoke, "It's someone you've definitely heard of. His dad promised to give us a sneak peak of the new game he's working on in exchange for us showing the kid around."
"New game? Are they new here?"
She shrugs. "The dad isn't. Kid is."
"Huh?"
"You'll see. C'mon, now. If you're ready, let's head out."
"Right!" Jake grabbed his bike and with a final wave to his parents, they both started to make their way down the mountain. He was excited to see what the day held and also curious about who this person is. Someone he's heard of but was new here? His dad makes games? Well, he'll see!
-
Cole and Kai waited at the gates until they could no longer see them before they went back inside. The parents worried about their curious son but they had to help their friends. Right as they were about to get in their vehicles, their comms crackled to life.
"Uh-guys?" Lloyd's voice came through. "How far out are you? The Mechanic's got a hold of some of the buses and a bunch of escapees are heading towards the city. We got the commissioner and the police ready to intercept them outside the city limits but they'll need some backup."
With one shared glance they were already in their vehicles and hitting the road. "We're on our way, Lloyd. We’ll try to intercept them before they reach the city but tell the commissioner to hold the line just in case." Kai replied.
"You got it. Stay safe, guys."
Soon after, Cole's voice came in, the concern palpable in his tone as he said, "Kai, should we tell Antonia to take Jake back to the monastery? I'm worried about him. "
"Me too, Rocky. But don't worry, I trust Antonia and Nelson. They'll make sure nothing happens to him. Besides, we'll make sure they don't make it anywhere near our son."

Yo hi there! I’m very sorry to bother you at this time of the day, just reaching out if you’d be so kind to check the post that I pinned on my blog and maybe give it a little help by boosting/sharing it? it’s for my cat :((( and we need help to get him the dental care he needs. It would really mean the world to me and I understand if you don’t, still appreciate you and stay safe! and btw, please do send me a msg to reply or answer the ask privately instead as I want avoid other blogs to think im a spambot or what, once again im sorry for asking this, praying you’d consider! 🫶🏽🥹
you know what
no 🙏❤
hey kids, lets play a game of spot a scam again!! (im copying the message ive replied with before here and the original is at the bottom if you wish to reblog that one :) just editing this a bit here to show the new stuff they are putting out there in this very message yay!!)
okay this is literally the same story ive seen before at least three times. its word to word the same. youre not even trying
reblogs only from original posts. they have gotten "smarter" tho as this blog followed me in attempts to try to show its "real". and yet they havent reblogged from blogs they supposedly follow, only from probably the top posts from some popular tags and only from the original posters. also please note literally all the posts in their blog have been reblogged today within the past three to four hours (apparently im so loopy i cant read times rn, its been about the past 15 to 16 hours but the point still stands, they are all reblogged within the last 24 hours)
also they try to act more human with a decent description and likes and follows turned off. dont try hun
their only original post as far as i scrolled (which admittedly wasnt very far as its obvious this is a scam lol) is the donation post. unsurprisingly
ive said it before and i'll say it again - they seem to target people in similar positions that they are supposedly in, trying to pluck that sympathy cord with "your pet is sick so you are sensitive and know how this feels". this isnt my case rn but i obviously have posted cat photos and i have a donation ko-fi link in my pinned post sssoooo
"pls consider answering this ask privately" lmao so what people dont know youre a scammer? NEXT (they literally say this now like lmaooo for real? so that people dont think youre a scam bot?? honey please are you even trying)
a simple search even within tumblr tells you people already know about this. the account, the story and the cat. you aint fooling anymore
if unsure kids, ask a friend and google things 👍 reverse image search, for example, is your best friend!! also googling the latter half of the given paypal name reveals immediately that this is a scam. plastered all over the first search page lmao
also kids, in case youre asking "well what bad could a one little me reblogging a post even if its a scam do if i dont donate :/" 1. im sorry what and 2. it makes them look legitimate which they are not. the more notes the more trusted the source cause tumblr is full of idiots (sorry not sorry ive been here for over 11 years i know what people are like) plus you put your friends, mutuals and followers in a risk of participating in a scam. and have your name associated with it as well. do i need to go on?
anyways hi go report this blog and always be hesitant if someone you dont know asks you for donations like this. unless its a beloved mutual on your dash, reconsider. stay safe, thanks 💜
looking forward to being unfollowed and blocked immediately after posting this, but i'll be sure to report you for a scam. :) also fuck you for using someone elses poor cat and their situation to literally scam good natured people out of money, what the fuck is wrong with you
peace and love, fuck you ✌💜

Hero and Partner Week, Day 7: Free Day!
Last up for the free day today is a little drawing of my own team! After I made all this art of Neo and Skitty (now named Penelope) for this week, I decided that I should actually try to come up with unique designs for them. Now all of my previous illustrations of them are officially outdated. Oops.
I'd gotten attached to the depictions of them in my previous Hero and Partner Week drawings, so I didn't want to change them too much, but I still wanted them to be recognizable as original chararcters and not just general depictions of an eevee and a skitty. I'm pleased with Neo's redesign, but I would like to make Penelope a little more unique in the future. If you're interested, you can read more about them and their alternate universe under the cut!
This will be my last submission for Hero and Partner Week. I had a blast drawing and writing for this event over the past month, and I really enjoyed seeing what everyone else created as well. Thanks so much for hosting this amazing event! I'm already looking forward to participating again next year and seeing how much I've improved as an artist by then!
(Also, apologies if this posts twice. It disappeared from my queue sometime after I scheduled it, and I'm not sure if it's still going to post. I decided to just rewrite it in advance, and if the other version turns up, I'll delete it.)
@heropartnerweek
Neo
Neo is an odd-colored Eevee who woke up in the Tiny Woods one morning unable to remember who she was or how she got there. She occasionally dreams of a strange Pokemon atop a frozen mountain, and after learning about the legend of Nintales, she comes to the conclusion that she must be the human in the story who angered the deity and abandoned her partner Pokemon, Gardevoir. She feels obligated to help save the world because she's (allegedly) the one who brought about its destruction long ago, but secretly she feels she's not capable of it and is hoping for a way out. Neo can most easily be described as cowardly. She lacks courage and prefers to run and hide rather than fight and stand up for herself. She doesn't wish to hurt others and cares deeply for many Pokemon she knows, but when push comes to shove, her strong sense of self preservation takes control and she always puts herself first, even at the detriment of other Pokemon. She also lacks confidence, and this causes others to be distrusting of her and lack belief in her abilities. Neo tends to make promises she can't keep because she either doesn't think it through all the way or just wants to help and please others, which makes her seem more unreliable to those she lets down. Her hastiness also hurts her ability to think for herself. Neo can problem solve well when she is forced to slow down and reason out the situation, but when she rushes herself, she doesn't consider all the possibilities and can come to the wrong conclusion. Neo came to trust Penelope quickly because Penelope was there for her when she didn't have anyone else to turn to, but she also sometimes regrets forming a team with her and wonders if it was the right choice because of her struggle to show bravery and do the right thing like Penelope does.
Penelope
Penelope is a young Skitty who was raised in Littlegrove, a town on the sea northwest of Pokemon Square. Her parents, a Meganium and a Delcatty, tend to a pecha berry orchard and a small garden of other berry and herb plants, and her mother is a skilled weaver who makes scarves and other textiles using the plants grown in town. Penelope and her younger sibling Orion were often tasked with travelling to Pokemon Square to sell Delcatty's scarves to the Kecleon brothers and the many rescue teams that visit town, but since a mystery dungeon formed within the Tiny Woods, Penelope has been making the trip alone. When she learns that she and her partner must be the ones to save the world, she immediately rises to the task because the lives of her family are on the line and she's determined to save them, even at the cost of her own life. Penelope is courageous and quick-thinking with a strong sense of integrity. She's highly motivated by her commitment to and love for her family, especially her younger sibling Orion, and she'll never make a promise that she thinks she can't keep. Her strict moral code often makes it difficult for her to be understanding of those who act selfishly, and it also makes her prone to overworking herself or throwing herself into danger if she thinks it will help someone she loves. She is highly confident in her beliefs and her decision-making abilities, which allows her to act quickly on instinct. However, this also makes her stubborn and unlikely to follow in other Pokemon's footsteps or take their advice without good reason, and because she's still young, her beliefs and decisions aren't always backed up by experience or knowledge, leading her to make some poor choices. Her personality is often at odds with Neo's cowardice and self-interest, so they have a rocky start to their relationship.
One early spring day, Penelope was travelling through Tiny Woods with a new stock of her mother's pecha scarves when she came across an odd-looking eevee named Neo who said she had lost her memory. While she was distracted by the stranger, Gengar of Team Meanies snuck up on Penelope and attacked her. Because of her Normalize ability, Penelope was unable to fight back and Gengar stole most of the scarves she was carrying. Neo fled in the commotion, and Penelope chased after her, assuming she was working with Gengar to steal the scarves.
Penelope found Neo at the entrance to the Tiny Woods's mystery dungeon, which appeared as a deep chasm in the forest floor. She confronted her while Neo couldn't escape, but Neo claimed she didn't know anything about Gengar or his plans to attack Penelope. As they were arguing, they were approached by a Butterfree who needed help because her child, Caterpie, was lost in the dungeon. Penelope agreed to help and forced Neo to come with her because she didn't yet believe that Neo and Gengar weren't working together.
After finding Caterpie and reuniting him with his mother, Penelope took Neo to Pokemon Square where they decided to stay the night at Kangaskhan's inn because Neo didn't have anywhere else to go and Penelope didn't know how to fix the problem of the stolen scarves. While in Pokemon Square, she asked Neo to form a real rescue team with her in order to help earn back the lost money.

anon, dear, i hope you're doing good! i might be in the brain goo - still, bear with me on the being comprehensible part -, but a) you asked for headcanons and b) you're my favourite person to contemplate with, so you'll be my victim tonight-
so, i know you've said somewhere you're not a big fan of time pieces, BUT-
i've read a lot (like. A LOT.) of medieval-ish things the last couple days and spotify graced me with a shitton of ukrainian music today, and now all i can think about is this tradition they got in ukraine in july where they gather around a fire, take their loved ones by the hand, and if they stay locked while jumping over the fire they they'll have a long and happy relationship (bonus: you can do this with friends for health and good fortune, too). they have this other thing, too, where the unmarried women bind wildflowers to wreaths, then set them on a river or pond or whatever to see who'll get married soon (if your wreath flows without problems and moves a bit it's you), and their significant others try to guess which wreath is their girl's and they tryna fish it out-
and listen, listen, i KNOW it probably doesn't make much sense, and i have not thought this through 'till the end, but i need irish ian to somehow end up in ukraine and in the hands and care of mandy, who tries to teach him their ways and their language, because he's kind and sweet, too - and maybe she first hopes he's her wildcard out of her life until she gets to know he's gay? -, and somehow she gets mickey involved in her little social project and she tries very hard to make him be nice to ian, long story short, they all go to the festivities together, get a little drunk maybe and do their little traditions. while it's a rite for the women, i bet mandy'd force him to bind a wreath, still. and maybe she already knows there's something going on between him and her brother and she schemes some more to make mickey fish ian's out of the water, i don't know, my brain doesn't cooperate properly.
bonus lore- iirc they have this magic flower they set out to search at some point, too, as it's said to grant its finder some sort of power, so, just please, mickey and ian having an excuse to disappear in the woods for hours without anybody asking questions.
i only just now realised it's actually a full on au, but i'll send it over anyway, because it's juvenile and mostly lighthearted and i needed to bother someone with it. much love! thanksokaybye.
Hello my darling! My brain is also gooey possibly because it's late though. Perfect time to be your victim of choice!
Disclaimer- I don't really have anything about historical stories, it's just the homophobia of it all, you know? Like I enjoy some angst as much as the next person, but knowing they can't get married and will have to live partially in secret if not in the closet just... spoils it for me. I'm a comfort first, angst second kinda girl, but I also don't want it to be completely unrealistic. (also I need Mickey to be a southside shit talker) So I tend to skip those fics. now that that's out of the way, I'm ready for yours!
FIRST OF ALL I am a sucker for Mickey speaking Ukrainian. I really wish we got that in canon. AND IAN TRYING TO LEARN THAT FOR HIM 💔💔💔💔
they gather around a fire, take their loved ones by the hand, and if they stay locked while jumping over the fire they they'll have a long and happy relationship -> oh my god are you kidding me this sounds so fucking magical!
Okay what if Ian is like injured or something and Mandy finds him, and hides him until he can get better and Mickey is suspicious and follows her one day?
and maybe she already knows there's something going on between him and her brother and she schemes some more to make mickey fish ian's out of the water -> mmm how about yes yes and yes!!!
This is so fucking sweet. I want Ian in a flower crown Mandy made him! and maybe it's too small to his giant head and his looks funny and Mickey teases him and eventually that flower crown mysteriously finds it's way to Mickey's head. because that's what flower crowns do.
Them just walking in the forest and talking for hours. Maybe they find a job for Ian that gets them to hang out and Mickey teaches him Ukrainian?
NOSHO please send any and all AU / thoughts / headcanons always and forever!
