I want to post this here too because I’ve seen it happen a few times

Please understand that there are cultural differences and language differences, if you see this happening let the person clarify what they meant, that person might just not be familiar with words the western side of the internet use

You know those "write badly!" posts that sometimes makes the rounds to encourage all you lovely writers that it's okay that not everything is a masterpiece?

Yeah, those.

I just want all you authors out there not feeling good enough to know that i just decided to reread one of the worst fics I've ever read. Because it's one of the best fics I've ever read.

The plot is simplistic at best. The language is horrible. The pacing is nowhere to be found behind all the "and then!!!" the author peppers their writing like a carbonara with.

But

The characters. The insights into their motivations is fucking master thesis level. I cry just thinking about the way the author predicted where canon was headed years ago. And the way they Preemptively fixed all the ooc-ness the mangaka is now struggling to wrap up.

It's been living in my head rent-free for years and i wouldn't want it any other way. Just with slightly less "and then!!"

So yes, write badly.

In three years time some sucker will come back for seconds because they loved it for all the things you Did manage to do right.

#kingdom hearts #kh #ahh this one was so hard to draw; i never know how to combine a bunch of scenes in one picture without it looking cheesy #just threw a bunch of waves and leaves and birds on top and called it a day haha. it might be a bit too busy though #the white line going up the center is supposed to be a trail left behind by the gummi ship! it connects to the ship in the bg at the top #it's kinda meant to evoke little kids dreaming of other places-> getting older and earnestly making the raft to try to reach the dream #->the gummi ship as a premonition of how they'd actually reach the dream in the future. i guess? idk how to explain #and i really wanted to have kairi's expressions be really similar but changing subtly from wonder to worry when she's older #the boys are just max enthusiasm the whole time #but yeah. something something Symbolism and hopefully it's at least kinda pretty if it doesn't make sense #i'm just super proud to have been part of this project! everyone's work is just amazing #the destiny kids give me this soft feeling of kinda lonely nostalgia. it's nice to have a book full of that #very wistful looking through it #fan art #my art #project stuff

The think pieces I could write on how Falin’s first appearance as a chimera- with her elegantly settling down onto the ground while simultaneously crushing one of Kabru’s team members beneath him is metaphorical of the worship and image Marcille (as well as Laios) has of Falin no matter the circumstances.

It’s near biblical the way they perceive her under desperation to have her back. Obviously they both love and admire her but it’s so easy to see when Falin falls into being a little sister or silly friend to either of them when they’re safe and comfortable, but the way they truly see her is so real. She’s graceful, gentle, flawless in every moment. Hell even as she’s murdering people Marcille says that Falin is just confused. Kabru tells her that she doesn’t care how many people would die if it meant she got to save Falin and he’s right. All her sins are absolved under what she means to them.

To Marcille and Laios to even be near Falin is a grace unparalleled, to be in her presence and acknowledged by her is divinity and nothing else compares. They are elevated only by the privilege of loving her in the ways they do and the privilege of being able to protect her.

Anything less is a failure to the love she so generously, selflessly provides.

The way I completely lose all interest in Lawlight as a ship if Light isn't Kira. And frankly, I feel like L would agree with me on this one. I don't think he'd gaf abt Light in the slightest if Light wasn't Mr. Serial Killer.

#Lawlight only works if Light is Kira bc otherwise light is just some rly smart pretentious teenager.#Like you're telling me L a 24 y/o self made multi-millionaire and the world's greatest detective (top 3 if you count the aliases)-#would care in the slightest abt mr “i got a perfect score on my college entrance exam”. Be fr!!#Idk the ship loses everything that makes it fun and appealing to me if you remove Kira from the mix #Ik ppl do “Light isn't Kira” AUs to make the ship more wholesome but i'd argue it just becomes problematic in a diff way.#L is not only way older but also extremely rich and successful. If Light is innocent but still a suspect- L also has immense power over him #Ig i don't see the point of trying to make Lawlight wholesome. It's still problematic but without the goofy homoerotic enemyship.#Light being Kira not only makes them equals but gives them spice!#However I DO get the appeal of “Light isn't Kira” AUs where Light is still a fake asshole who's performatively nice but hides his real feel #But removing his misogynistic swag/superiority complex/his bitchy internal monologues to make him normal? Ace friend zoning himself is funny, especially since he's tried getting Yuu to share a bed with him before.

OK listen Ace does make some effort. He asks Yuu to share a bed not once, but TWICE, he goes over alone without Deuce to watch horror movies with them, and I still can't get over his line about leveling up making it easier to protect "a certain magicless someone :p"

But like. He could just be a really touchy, whiny friend. He's not an idiot, he knows he's just some guy and your... yuu. You mean everything to him but it's not like he means everything to you. In his mind he's competing with Malleus, your home world, all the other freshmen, and people he hasn't even met yet so why would you choose him? Sure he'd vote for himself in a heartbeat but... he isn't you. And as well as you know someone there's always room for error, what scares Ace more than seeing you with someone else is losing you completely.

So yeah. He's friendzoning himself. Because the person he is best at lying to has always been himself.
