i plan on staying single until i'm at least 30. tubal ligation has many dangerous side effects like post tubal ligation syndrome that according to some statistics affects even like 30 percent of women who undergo it and apparently is more prevalent in younger ppl and well, i'm in my early 20s but i've seen also posts from women in their late 30s who suffer from it (so maybe it's not dependent on age of patients but it's just once again medical misogyny??). i can' even research these things bc i get sick and disgusted after seeing words related to female r*productive system

Major conservative influencers on social media platforms such as Twitter and Rumble have coalesced in recent months around talking points that connect birth control with a variety of negative health outcomes, which experts say instill fear in women who could otherwise benefit from using birth control.
But the information the influencers are referring to lacks crucial context, says Dr. Danielle Jones, an OB-GYN, and they fail to include recent scientific developments that challenge their narrative.
Tim Pool, Ben Shapiro and Steve Bannon have all made anti-birth control content in the past six months. Sometimes, they feature female conservative personalities who make content about women’s issues.
Alex Clark, who hosts a pop culture show for the youth conservative messaging organization Turning Point USA, is one conservative woman who has railed against hormonal birth control in recent months. The progressive watchdog publication Media Matters for America first reported that Clark said her “mission” is “to get young women off this pill.” In a response sent in a direct message, Clark wrote “Birth control can be right for some in some cases, but we shouldn’t just take it blindly because of acne and we shouldn’t treat it as the default for all women.”
While some strains of conservative politics have spent years attacking birth control, the more recent resurgence of anti-birth control talking points comes alongside a broader push from online conservative creators against the medical establishment and treatments from vaccines to gender-affirming care, all of which have been recommended in certain circumstances by the American Medical Association. In her response, Clark called birth control “synthetic,” as opposed to pregnancy, which she called “natural.”
The social media trend of attacking birth control has also coincided with legal and legislative efforts targeting birth control access, most notably emergency contraceptives. In response to the Supreme Court’s ruling that revoked the constitutional right to an abortion, Justice Clarence Thomas wrote that the court “should reconsider” other decisions, including those codifying the right to contraceptive access.
Jones, who is also a YouTube creator with 1.2 million subscribers, has made multiple videos discussing the rhetoric around reproductive health. In an interview, she said the primary tactic she’s observed on social media to undermine birth control has been “to take a study that backs up what they’re saying, then use that to draw some extravagant conclusion.”
“It’s thinly veiled, but it’s veiled enough that the average person often doesn’t identify it,” she said.
Many videos point to a 2018 study that found an association between taking hormonal birth control and suicide attempts and suicide in women in Denmark. But researchers and physicians who have cited the study have urged patients not to stop using hormonal birth control. Rather, health care experts have said that doctors should discuss any potential mood effects of the medication with patients, as other studies have contradicted the 2018 study, and pregnancy can also have mood side effects.
Ashley St. Clair, who has more than 673,000 Twitter followers, referred to the association suggested in the study in a tweet in which she said “Did you know the birth control pill increases risk of suicide and suicidal ideations?” In June, Twitter owner Elon Musk liked a number of anti-birth control tweets, including St. Clair’s tweet.
Jones said the 2018 Dutch study into suicide and hormonal birth control was “really important and well-done.”
But she said just reading the 2018 study’s abstract and drawing conclusions from that alone is lacking crucial context when making medical decisions. Primarily, she said, the risks of contraceptive use are not compared to the same risks in pregnancy, which she said are higher. The 2018 study specifically acknowledges that pregnancy also has association with higher rates of suicide.
In a phone interview, St. Clair said she believes women are being put on birth control at a young age without being told the risks of depression and suicidal thoughts.
“I was on it at 14 and I wasn’t told these things,” she said. “I really believe there needs to be more education for women around this.”
Similarly, Clark wrote in her response to NBC News that she wants patients to be “radically thoughtful” about making medical decisions.
“That starts with understanding the potential side effects, not downplaying them,” she wrote.
Jones tells her own social media audience to consider the motivation of people who post about birth control online. Oftentimes, they’re coming from a religious or political perspective, or they’re trying to sell something, she said, adding they are neglecting the scientific consensus in favor of alarmist sentiments. She pointed out that the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists has recommended that birth control be offered over the counter to anyone.
“There’s extensive data on this,” she said. “If birth control is safe enough to advocate that it should be over the counter, there’s absolutely no reason it should start to become a topic of legislation about who can access it and why.”
Still, Jones said, the way conservative influencers weaponize research about birth control's side effects has a real-world effect.
She said it is a daily occurrence for women at her practice to decline using hormonal birth control out of fear that it will cause permanent changes to their body and fertility.
“You basically are scaring people out of using birth control and not even comparing it to pregnancy,” Jones said.
In place of birth control, she said, many conservatives have taken a page from the natural health community and promoted cycle tracking and other fertility awareness methods. Several of the female conservative influencers write for and share articles from Evie Magazine, a media company whose founder also created a cycle-tracking startup called 28 by Evie. Conservative billionaire tech titan Peter Thiel has invested in the startup and more recently in fertility companies targeting international markets. During her interview, St. Clair also suggested that women should be taught to track their cycles as an alternative to medication birth control.
But, Jones said, fertility awareness methods to prevent pregnancy could fail “even in the most experienced person.” They require taking the temperature every day before getting out of bed, monitoring cervical mucus and knowing exactly what to look for, keeping track of all of these things on a chart, and avoiding intercourse or using another method to prevent pregnancy within the fertile window, she said.
According to the Mayo Clinic, fertility cycle tracking is among the least effective types of birth control, and that effectiveness varies by couple. It said that as many as 24 out of 100 women who use natural family planning will become pregnant within the first year. A 2021 study of period-tracking apps for fertility planning found that out of 10 apps used, all of them gave conflicting dates of fertility, most of which were incorrect.
“People get pregnant because they didn’t know they had to do all these things to make that effective,” she said.

Sudden realization: Alys Rivers was a wetnurse, and as such, she was probably required to constantly be lactating (therefore having to be pregnant or given birth recently), and couldn’t possibly keep all those babies as they wouldn’t have survived, their mother poor and having to feed a baby of higher ranking.
So mayyyybe my girl wasn’t a witch and was forced into pregnancy (with high SA implications) to constantly be producing milk for the Strong family (which is inhuman and I’m pretty sure in the Middle Ages they didn’t even treated cows that way, she had less rights than a cow) and having to be mistreated and being a servant on top of that. Imagine how happy she was when Aemond came and slaughtered all that wretched people.

POLISH WOMAN SEEKING MEDICAL ASSISTANCE AFTER TAKING ABORTION PILLS FACES POLICE HARASSMENT AND UNLAWFUL SEARCH IN HOSPITAL
going a little personal on this blog but i need to make an update regarding abortion situation in poland.
Tumblr media
link to the interview with joanna (in polish): https://fakty.tvn24.pl/zobacz-fakty/pani-joanna-zazyla-tabletke-poronna-do-szpitala-przyjechali-policjanci-zabrali-jej-laptop-i-telefon-7245233
here’s a short recap of abortion situation in poland if you missed it: prior to 2020, poland had one of the strictest abortion laws in europe, allowing the procedure only in cases of severe fetal abnormalities, threats to the woman's life, or pregnancies resulting from rape or incest. however, in october 2020, the polish constitutional tribunal ruled that performing abortions due to fetal abnormalities was unconstitutional, effectively banning the procedure in most cases. following the ruling, abortion is now legally permitted in poland only in cases where the woman's life or health is at risk, or when the pregnancy is the result of a criminal act. this has made access to safe and legal abortions extremely limited for polish women, leading many to seek abortions abroad or perform it on their own with the help of a polish abortion rights group “aborcyjny dream team”.
now, onto the newest situation that has sparked national outrage. all of the information i used to write this post come from various polish news sources which i tried to translate into english. on tuesday (july 18th 2023) , "fakty tvn" (a polish television news program known for reporting current events and news stories) aired a segment that revealed the controversial intervention of the police in the case of joanna that had happened 3 months ago. in an interview with a journalist, joanna explained that she decided to take abortion pills due to health risks. when she started feeling unwell, she immediately informed her doctor who informed the emergency services. upon the arrival of the police at her apartment, joanna was taken by an ambulance to the hospital, accompanied by a police car.
a doctor from the emergency department described the situation surrounding joanna's case. he mentioned that four men were guarding the frightened woman, creating a barrier that hindered the work of the medical staff. the doctor did not receive a clear answer as to why the police were detaining the patient. joanna recalled that the word "crime" was repeatedly mentioned. at one point, she noticed that her laptop had disappeared. in a recording provided by an employee of the emergency department, the doctor can be heard intervening regarding joanna's computer. the police officer stated that it had been "secured for evidence" and requested not to interfere with their actions. the doctor considered calling the police, but one of the officers pointed out that an unjustified call to the police is an offense. joanna emphasized that the doctors at the emergency department stood up for her, stating that there was no need for the police to continue their involvement as she posed no threat. however, she continued to be questioned about her phone and laptop, which left her terrified and constantly in tears.
the police ran a make on the present doctors, and joanna was transported with police escort to another hospital with a gynecological department. another patrol was already present there, and an additional one was called. joanna was also forced to hand over her phone. she repeatedly told the police that no one helped her in performing abortion and that she had ordered the pills online. she said, "the word 'abortion' triggered almost a manhunt."
joanna also described what happened after she was referred to the second hospital. she explained that she was transported to the gynecological ward in an ambulance with sirens on. she didn't understand why she was taken to the gynecological department since the medical abortion she had performed did not pose a threat to her health and did not require that level of care.
she also confirmed that two policewomen appeared on the scene and ordered her to undress, do squats, and cough. this was the most difficult and humiliating moment for her, as she felt completely unprotected and stripped of her dignity. she complained that she could no longer count on the privacy protection from the doctors.
she recounted, "i undressed, except for my underwear because i was still bleeding, and it would have been too humiliating for me. they then told me to remove my underwear as well. that's when i shouted at them, 'what do you want from me? i was just examined by a gynecologist.'"
the spokesperson for the małopolska (province in southeastern poland) police, inspector sebastian gleń, stated that they received a report from a psychiatrist who informed them that their patient had undergone an abortion and expressed suicidal intentions. they provided the woman's address, leading to the dispatch of an ambulance and a police patrol.
joanna admitted that her call to the doctor may have sounded dramatic, but she assured them that she had no intention of harming herself. the doctor from the emergency department she was admitted to stated that a mere drop in mood is not a reason to call the police. according to him, if that were the case, half the country would require police assistance.
the police admitted that their intervention was based on article 152, not to protect joanna from suicide but on the assumption that someone must have helped her with the abortion. (article 152 of the polish penal code relates to the criminalization of assisting in the termination of pregnancy)
joanna did not break the law since, as ruled by the court, self-induced abortion is not prohibited in poland. she assured the police that she ordered, paid for, and took the abortion pills on her own, but her explanations were not taken into account. the doctor from the emergency department, where joanna was treated, stated, "she was in a rather difficult psychological situation, and when leaving our department she was in an even worse state."
professor adam bodnar, former polish commissioner for human rights, commented on the situation, saying: "it is extremely shocking that a doctor who found himself in this situation says, 'i have a patient, and you are taking away her phone and laptop.' he accuses the police officers themselves of violating the law, and they respond, 'and what can you do to us?' this shows the reality we live in." according to him, the police abused their authority.
terminating a pregnancy is not a crime in poland, and the police had no grounds to confiscate the computer and phone. currently, there is an ongoing investigation in the prosecutor's office regarding aiding abortion, but for three months since the dramatic incident, no charges have been filed against anyone.
the court, while considering the complaint about the confiscation of the phone and ordering its return, reminded the police that joanna was neither a suspect nor was there any basis to press charges against her. in poland, women are not penalized for having an abortion. the law does not punish women. joanna concluded her statement by saying, "this police intervention completely broke me. it destroyed me." the commissioner for civil rights also took up the case.
“i fight for my rights for myself, for restoring a sense of justice, but i make all of this public for other women” says joanna.

Some men have no idea about anything that has to do with women,
And most don't know it all.
Every single one of them don't know how it feels.
And as a nonbinary afab, I can say I've experienced and am still experiencing what it is like to be woman. Hell, I'm a 15 year old teenager whose period cramps fucking kill them every month.
Some men--all they know about a woman is that they're a woman.
Some don't know about periods, some don't know about the moods of women during their periods, some don't know how it affects them.
Men don't know how women feel, men don't know how women act, men don't know what women like, men don't know what it is like to have a vagina, men don't fucking know what it's like to be pregnant.
No man, in anyone's right mind, should be given the authority to force a woman or anyone to give birth.
Everyone with a vagina, whether they're a woman or not, understands what it's like to be one. You may not feel like one, and that's fine! We all feel the way we feel, it's completely valid. But menstruation, and female hormones have affected us atleast afew times (or a long time). So, you know exactly what it's like, or used to be like, to be faced with women's issues.
Would you like it if you were raped and forced to give birth? Public case of a 10 year old shortly after the law was enforced: girl got raped, refused an abortion even under the stake of her pre-menstraul life. Wanna hear another? Woman's baby was dead in the womb, threatened her life and made her ill. Refused an abortion, because under this terrible law, if it threatens their life it needs to have almost killed them before they'll even consider an abortion. Because in their minds, woman who want abortions are nothing but murderers.
You need to trust women.
What world is this if the only ones we can trust are men? And the ones I'm talking about are not even trustworthy.
What world is this if we can't trust women, and those who menstraute; those who carry pregnancies?
So your solution--as someone who shouldn't have a say in what happens to a woman's privates or their birth--is a law that causes pregnant people to kill themself attempting homemade abortions, cave under pressure and actually commit suicide, be traumatised from the dreadful experience of being forced to give birth at a young age/by rape at any age; be forced to give birth to a child in which they just don't want to give birth to.
What fucking world is this where you force a person to give birth when you know they don't want to?
We're evolving backwards. We're growing dumber by the minute, and the ones who have sense are being oppressed.
This is why I hate this country.

freakazaoids in sejm are debating funding in vitro from taxes. omg why are they like this, just bc catholic freaks dislike something for [braindead catholic reasons] doesn't mean it's good and noble and has to preserved.
"fighting inf*rtily" ummm like it's a good thing??? im lowering the birthrates right now using my psionic powers and i'm making ppl infertile too, it's for the greater good
you can't get p******t? i'm afraid you have no choice but to kill yopurself then :( since your only mission in life appears to be br**ding... but make sure to kill your useless h*sband first, it's his fault anyway, and you should blame him for your failure bc as you can see his sp*rm is absolutely worthless.
i don't want to ever pay a single penny for someone's frivolous and unnecessary whims like b*rthing a ch*ld they can't c*nceive xD i don't care that it's expensive. you don't need to b*rth a ch*ld to survive
you have to be extremely weak willed to succumb to the r*production insticnt
tw tumblr's idea of what #eugenics is but if you can't have a child then it's for a reason and it should stay this way lol

Will forever wonder if my asexuality had anything to do with the time the gynecologist said I had an immature reproductive system when I'd been getting my period for 5-6 years already
Or just a case of correlation is not causation 🤷‍♀️

“Nothing radical about trans exclusion” actually I would say women excluding males from their lives is very radical and above all admirable ✌🏻
You sure about that? Radicalism is gender liberation, which is only attainable through trans advocacy. If you actually dug your head out your unwashed ass, you could start to see how your transphobia resembles conservative transphobia. It's literally the act thing. I have never actually gotten an answer on why you think exclusion of trans people is justified but sexism unacceptable.
Cissexism is among the most dangerous, life threatening discriminations that one can face. There is a statistically significant trend of trans suicides due to trans exclusion. But if cis women had the same statistics? You would never hear the fucking end of it. Social isolation is the leading cause of suicide, how could you fucking be proud that you actively practice it?
No one is asking you to be friends with us (dont think any trans person would want to be your friend). You don't have to be a colossal bitch to everyone who disagrees with your bigotry. I am not civil to bigots. Especially not stupid asshole bigots who think they're woke. Your feminism is such a mockery to the idea of true gender liberation that you're hindering it more than helping. Your feminism is Susan B Anthony's. The feminism I subscribe to is Marsha P Johnson. We aren't the same.

ok ok ok the people need to see who has bigger mantits klaus/klein or medic?
Okay, despite how short klaus is,
He technically has more mantits than medic.
It’s actually more of a medical thing for nation children.
Lore. If you are uncomfortable with talks of physical biology, probably dont read.
All countryhumans in my world, are hermaphrodites, meaning they either have both sexes, or can switch.
Their children also gain this trait, but instead of one giant painful puberty, they have two. Usually 200 years apart.
Klaus is a hermaphrodite male, in the sence his first puberty was for his male reproductive organs.
When he got his second puberty, he did eat a bit, but he more of got thicker for the female parts. Also, yes, this is also why he has bigger tits in some of my sketches than others.
So, in short, it’s because technically klaus has boobs, not pecks.
So in theory, if he gets pregnant (which i doubt he will try for kids), he can breastfeed.
Sincerely im sorry if this scarrs you, i like putting a bit of biology in my series so it doesn’t feel so magic based-
(None of this is supposed to be fetishized, do Not fetish my hermaphrodites…)

i got out of surgery a few hours ago (around 10 hours now) and im doing well and recovery is going just as planned. i've been sleeping on and off all day and just now am coherent enough to type something out.
a few people were asking why the surgery was done (reproductive problems), what it helped with (pain and fatigue) and the next steps for me, and as a non-binary person with endometriosis, i'd love to share my journey and the ins and outs of my symptoms and surgery process if anyone wants to hear it. i'm forever grateful for the endo-transmasc community for speaking up about endometriosis and using inclusive language so i could learn about my symptoms without feeling isolated and disphoric. i firmly believe i wouldn't have been diagnosed as fast as i was without their help, and if just one person can get the help they need because of my story, then that would be wonderful. feel free to send asks or dm me for any questions, i am an open book :)
thank you to everyone who showed concern and gave well wishes; i will be reading the wonderful fanfics you all have been suggesting and giving lil reviews while i recover haha! (and if anyone wants to see dope photos of my organs from the inside and to see the little motherfucker that's caused me all this pain, dm me lol) <3 blessings be!

Personal rant
EEEEEEEEP IM IN PAIN but not as much pain as previous menstruations. But it’s just constant now. I feel like I can’t do anything because of the pain and I’m expected to bake banana bread soon ಥ_ಥ
I didn’t take any painkillers yet because I wanted to see the difference with the birth control I started taking this month.
Long story short, I was diagnosed with endometriosis last month. It’s the reason for my irregularly long and painful periods. Apparently, my ovarian cysts that my previous gyno was monitoring with frequent ultrasounds for nearly 4 years, were due to endometriosis in my fallopian tubes that was bleeding into my ovaries every month. I have like an 4cm cyst filled with blood.
Two previous doctors missed this for years ಥ_ಥ
So now my new gyno who figured it out with just one ultrasound, prescribed this low-dose birth control and I can’t wait to not have any more painful periods and to be able to function without having to load up on ibuprofen for a whole week every month.
And she told me it’s a good thing we caught it because it could make me infertile if it went untreated seeing as it was severely affecting my ovaries.
I’m kinda scared though that having endometrial tissue growth in my fallopian tubes would put me at a higher risk of ectopic pregnancy like my mom. I want to have kids in the future eventually but with the current laws, it’s not even worth the risk. Many of the women who needed an abortion for miscarriage and couldn’t get it until septic, ended up unable to have any more children.
My mom years ago had to get a full hysterectomy. An ectopic pregnancy caused her to have to get a partial hysterectomy, which was then botched and caused the rest of her uterus and everything to start necrotizing, which left her bleeding and in pain for months (with no help from my dad with chores or anything) until she saw another doctor who then said she’d need a complete hysterectomy.
This all just makes me want to live alone for the rest of my life. Save up for retirement and all and when the time comes, check myself into a nursing home. Or maybe I can get a small cabin in the woods and become that spooky witch that parents tell scary stories about to scare their kids into behaving. I think it’d be interesting to live in a house that looks like candy like the witch from Hansel and Gretel, or a walking house like baba yaga
