Welcome back to Moon Knight Saturday for today's comic:
Universe X #6
a story, beginning with a Pharao looking up to Khonshu and hoping for the gift of immortality
This statue of Khonshu might sound familiar. Because it is. This comic issue gives another explanation at the origion of The Moon Knight, the origin of Marc Spector. It gives us the explanation that is also shown and used in the disney+ series:
But Marc dying under the statue of Khonsu really is as far as the similarities go. Because in this issue, he is not ressurected by Khonshu as an entity but through the powerful meteoric material that the statue was built from.
And though he had no choice in becoming The Moon Knight, he takes respinsibilities for his power
The whole issue, especially looking at it out of context (with it being #6 after all) can get quite convoluted, but the story of Khonshu, Set and Moon Knight are still very fascinating.
And it features more beloved Marvel characters, such as Captain America, the Fantastic Four or mutants.
Definitely worth checking out!

"Without Tony Stark, the Iron Avengers were leaderless. Their bodies had been rebuilt along with their personalities -- personalities based on those of the Avengers who had been killed years before. Yet they had no direction. No home. No purpose.
Until King Britain invited them to become Knights of the World under the leadership of his heir, the Black Knight. Others, desiring to ally themselves against the growing numbers of Immortus's cult, joined them in their quest."

"The Supreme Intelligence launched a Kree mission to Earth. Captain Mar-Vell was the young captain slated to be the first to make contact with humanity. If you measure movement according to the ability to exact change in a given situation, the Earth really did stand still that day. Mar-Vell came as a spy, but found himself soon thrust into the role of hero."
