NOTES: You know I'll never let the chance of writing some uncle and niece Targcest slip. So, here it is. The bathtub scene is inspired by the one of Vizzy and Aemma. This is based on this request, and I bless my Maegor squat for planting this plot in my brain. @borikenlove @fairysluna @connorsui

Moons had passed since the maesters informed your uncle-husband Maegor that you were with child, and thereafter, you were confined to your chambers. Three stillborn children were born to him before the announcement came, and thus, your husband was more than determined to not make it four.
Several of your ladies-in-waiting tended to your every wish ever since, doting on you and keeping you satisfied and well cared for. So it seemed, at least.
The handmaids could only do so much, but your body longed for something they couldn’t give you, for someone, despite your middle being heavily swollen carrying a pureblooded Targaryen offspring. With the end of your pregnancy creeping closer and closer, Maegor’s visits became rare, and the doors to your chambers opened scarcely to welcome anyone other than a maester or maid. Everytime you asked them to call for your husband, the same excuse followed: ‘he is meeting with the small council.’
When the doors to your chambers opened around the Hour of the Eel, and the clicking of the lock pulled you out of your slumber, you were ready to scold your maid Talisa for disturbing the quiet hours of your bath, but the approaching footsteps were eerily heavy and clearly didn’t belong to her. With how well protected your chambers were, main entrance and secret passageway alike, there was only one man they could belong to.
“You spend more time in that bath than I do on the Throne,” his raspy voice rang out.
You blinked a few times, raising a hand from below the warm water to rub your eyes, before Maegor’s paw came to rest upon your other one on the rim of the earthenware tub. “How would you know that?” you asked, your purple eyes meeting his own as he crouched down next to the tub. “You hardly visit me anymore.”
He dipped two of his thick fingers into the water, and couldn’t stop to trail his eyes over the curve of your breasts that slightly emerged from the opaque water. “It’s tepid,” he remarked, not paying any attention to your previous words.
“The maester’s will not allow it any warmer,” you said, “and since this is the only place I can find comfort these days, I bow to their orders.”
“Don’t they know dragons prefer heat?” Maegor asked to which you just hummed. “After this miserable pregnancy, I wouldn’t be surprised if I hatched an actual dragon,” you said, looking to the side. The pregnancy itself wasn’t as miserable as you claimed, however, it was the dungeon you had found yourself in, not allowed to leave your chambers nor set one foot in front of the other for longer than a few moments. But not even that stopped you from hearing the castle’s rumors, and you knew the majority of the people around you blamed Maegor for the failed pregnancies of his other wives, yet Maegor had told you on more than one occasion that it was the doing of his third wife, Tyanna of the Tower.
Maegor caressed your hair with his other hand, unusually tender, and a part of you begged to be with child even longer, because he had become a different man around you, less cold and rough, and it actually seemed he genuinely cared for you–if it wasn’t for you being locked up on his orders.
He hadn’t retorted anything to your comment, merely fidgeting with your slender fingers and massaging the palm of your hand, before pressing a tender kiss to the back of it. “Please, let me out, Maegor. I want to walk the Keep,” you eventually whispered, wide, pleading eyes searching his for any sign of sympathy. “Have dozens of guards escort me on the walk, seven hells, escort me yourself, but you know better than to chain a dragon up.”
You leaned toward your husband, clasping his large hand in both your small ones, and watched his brow furrow with what you could muster as uncertainty–something you hadn’t seen on his face before. Your chin rested on your joined hands, a soft ‘please’ leaving your lips.
Maegor sighed, “you know I can’t do that.”
“Birth is unpleasant enough as it is, so, why shall I prepare for it with a woeful pregnancy?”
Pity was written all over his features as he bowed his head closer to yours, and though you spotted it on his face for the first time, you loathed the sight. It made you feel weak, vulnerable and even worthless, knowing you had no say in anything that concerned your own body.
“I can’t risk exposing you to any danger,” Maegor eventually confessed after a pregnant pause, “not if it means I could lose you or the boy, or both of you at once.” The boy. He had proclaimed the babe to be a boy very early into the pregnancy, and consistently pointed out that he had never been more certain of anything. In his dream, the boy wore the crown of his father, the Conqueror, and would wield his sword when he was older. But you knew nothing would cause the babe to grow a cock, if it didn’t already possess one.
His forehead dipped against yours, and the proximity caused you both to close your eyes and release a deep sigh. You understood his reasoning, especially after he had lost three children and a wife before, which still didn’t mean you agreed to his methods of keeping you safe.
Your arms wrapped around his thick neck, his heavy shoulders supporting them, and without having to say anything, Maegor knew what it was you wanted–or needed. His hands grabbed your upper body just under your armpits, effortlessly lifting you out of the bath with a tenderness that was borderline frightening.
He was careful with your swollen bump, and immediately placed one hand on your arse and the other on the small of your back as you bound your legs around his waist. With your head resting against your upper arm, he pressed his lips to the side of your face, and carried you into the chambers to gently place you down on the bed.
There were rarely any moments you weren’t in the mood for him, but with the built up aching in your core, and his soft demeanor towards you, you were desperate.
Maegor kneeled between your parted legs, one hand resting on your knee, while the other one ran over the swell of your stomach. Before the pregnancy, his paws covered your stomach in its entirety, yet, however, they seemed more fitting in comparison to it.
“Look at you,” his voice was reverential and raspy, and the purple of his eyes was almost non-existent, drinking in the sight of you lying bare in front of him. His hand trailed up to cup your heavy breast, teasing the darkened bud to the point a few droplets of milk leaked out of it. Your breasts were sensitive to the touch, and a pathetic moan left your lips, which grew in volume as the bull of a man leaned forward to lick over your teased bud, gathering the liquid with his tongue.
You released a shaky breath at that, your mouth agape, and your eyes were wide. “I need you, husband,” the words a throaty whisper, and your own despair had you rutting your hips against the front of his breeches as far as your bump allowed you to.
His lips had latched around your bud, suckling on it, and he let you rub yourself against him to a certain point, a large hand on your hip applying just a bit of pressure to keep your movements limited and shallow, barely giving you enough friction. It prompted you to whine in despair, despite the relief his mouth brought to your breast.
“Gods, please, fuck me,” you whined, and Maegor slightly tilted his head to meet your eyes, the cocked eyebrow indicating that he was surprised by your choice of words, since you hadn’t used a term like that before. He pulled back from you with a lewd pop, licking his lips to collect every drop of your milk that had spilled past them.
“You want my cock?” he teased, and started to pay attention to your other breast, dragging his tongue around the perky bud, before wrapping his lips around it to release some of the tension from you.
Your hands disappeared into the short strands of his silver hair, and your back arched against his body, shoving your breasts into his face. “Yes, please,” you breathed, “give it to me.” One hand fisted his hair and the other cupped his face in a lousy attempt to push him off you, yet Maegor didn’t budge. How could he, with you using so little force?
Even though there was no urgency in any of his movements, Maegor merely reached between your bodies, as he kept his lips on your breast, to undo the laces in the front of his breeches and not undress any further, freeing his hard cock that stood to full attention. You blamed it on his inability to part from you, having been without you long enough already.
When he withdrew his mouth from you, he pressed a fervent kiss to your lips that stood in stark contrast to his previous actions, though you welcomed it with a matching ferocity.
“How could I ever resist you?” he asked, making you blush. “Not if you look like this, swollen with my child under your heart.” There was a possessiveness in his tone that alone had you moaning, and you bit your bottom lip as you looked at him with pleading eyes, nodding eagerly.
Being soft and gentle was unlike Maegor, especially when it came to the pleasures of fucking, and watching him move his bulky frame to lie on his side right next to you, draping your leg over his hips as he angled them just so his cock prodded at your entrance made you feel appreciated. He saw you, and paid attention to anything other than himself, to your current state, because in any other setting, he would’ve flipped you onto your stomach, pounding you into oblivion without much preparation.
The position allowed you to lie on your back, one leg raised without you having to do that much, without struggling to keep them up and parted. He was close to you, his massive size in comparison to yours allowing him to embrace you almost completely, one hand possessively placed on your bump while the other supported the back of your head.
His cock breached your tight entrance, pushing in with little resistance thanks to your arousal. While you braced yourself for the stinging pain of the stretch, you fisted the bedcovers with one hand, and grabbed his waist with the other, his flexing muscles tensing and relaxing beneath your palm.
Despite his carefulness, he was pushing into you all the way until his cock was enveloped by you like Dark Sister by its sheathing. You clenched around on him, and Maegor inhaled a sharp breath that didn’t go unnoticed by you, even though your heartbeat was pounding in your ears.
“As soon as this boy is born,” Maegor rasped, drawing his hips back to the point only the tip stayed inside, shoving his cock right back into you, “I am going to fill you up again, breeding you, so you’re always round with my child.” His words were interspersed with grunts and groans, and he moved quick enough for your voice to catch in your throat.
You clung to his waist, digging your nails into his flesh tight enough it would surely leave some bruises in the morrow despite him still wearing a tunic, but you didn’t care–not when he gave you the pleasurable pain you had waited for for so many moons.
“You were made for me,” he grunted, “made to carry my children–to give me my heir.”
Your back arched, and your hand released the covers to rest atop his on your belly, grasping his fingers and squeezing them tightly. “G–Gods, yes,” you hiccuped, your eyes closing for a moment.
It was a race for completion, and Maegor seemed to have lost some of his initial inhibitions, pounding into you as fervently as the position allowed. He fisted the silver hair in the nape of your neck in a feeble attempt to keep his urges at bay, he mostly did, and as much as you wanted to whine and squirm away from the sting at the back of your head, you couldn’t–not when he was making you feel so good at the same time.
“I shall fuck you all day once the babe is born. You’ll be dripping with my seed,” he groaned. “Is that what you want?”
“Y-Yes, husband, yes, please!”
Your fingers clung to his thumb as his hand trailed down to the apex between your legs, his thick digits swirling around the bud that made you writhe beneath his touch. Not long after, you toppled over the edge of your peak, moans loud enough to let the whole Keep know how well your husband was tending to your needs escaping your throat.
His precious, silver hair stuck to his forehead as he fucked you through your peak, until he reached his completion, too. When his cock spent itself inside of you, Maegor shuddered, the movements of his fingers seizing. “Good girl,” he growled through gritted teeth, “take everything I give you.”
Judging by how long his peak took its toll on your husband’s body, you were certain you would’ve been with his child after that–if you weren’t carrying his offspring already. It seemed that he hadn’t been indulging himself with his other wives for as long as you had.
When both your breathing slowed down, and his cock had grown flaccid again, Maegor bent a bit closer toward you to lap up droplets of milk that had leaked out of your buds from the force of your peak.
You gasped at that, still as sensitive as before, if not a bit more, and smoothed out his dampened hair. “Might you stay for a bit?” you asked almost shyly, as you were afraid to be rejected by him.
Maegor looked up at you, the purple of his eyes reflecting in the dim light of the candles lit around you. “I will stay all night.”

—————————————————————————
It was a dreary spring evening in the library when you and Regulus sat studying for your upcoming Potions exam. It was also when you’d decided to bring something up that you never had before.
As you were both approaching the end of your fifth year at Hogwarts, it wasn’t uncommon for people to start getting into relationships. In fact, couples seemed to be everywhere you looked, kissing, touching and giggling together. You couldn’t help but be jealous. As a Rosier and a respectable young Pureblood girl, you were expected to stay far away from the opposite gender, and therefore stay a virgin until you were inevitably married off. Of course, these rules had been broken by other Purebloods, like your brother Evan, but not you, nor your best friend, Regulus Black.
Regulus sat opposite you in a secluded corner of the library, the sun breaking through the window panes and casting a heavenly glow over his pointed features. Beneath the table, your ankles interlocked as yours bounced lightly, but Regulus didn’t seem to be affected, he never was.
“Reggie.” You blurted, not wanting to hold your thoughts back any longer. His pretty grey eyes didn’t look up at you despite the call of his nickname that only you were allowed to call him, he only hummed in acknowledgment as his quill kept scribbling against his parchment. You continued. “Do you think that I should date somebody?”
At that, Regulus frowned, slowly lifting his head to look at you, a hint of disgust over his face.
“Why would you want to do that?”
He asked incredulously. You knew that you two were closer than most best friends tended to be, as Evan so kindly reminded you every time he saw the two of you together, but Regulus made no move to suggest that he wanted anything more than a friendship with you, so you figured the idea of a boyfriend would be okay.
You smiled bashfully. “Well, lots of my friends have been getting into relationships and telling me how great it is. I can’t help but feel I’m missing out.” You informed him quietly, mindful of the somber atmosphere of the library.
He frowned further, inky lashes meeting his brow. “Missing out on what?”
You looked down at your book, starting to feel shy at the question. There was lots that you were missing out on. You shrugged, feeling your neck grow hot.
“I dunno, like hanging out and talking and touching. It just all seems so nice.” You admitted half of your thoughts, looking up at him again.
Regulus shook his head dismissively and looked back down to his parchment before continuing his writing. “You don’t need a boyfriend for that! You have me and all of your other friends to do that.”
You laughed lightly under your breath. “I know that, but there are other things.” You tell him, finding his obliviousness sweet. You knew that Regulus was pretty much a genius, a true master at everything he did and tried, but Merlin, how he was stupid. Especially when it came to people.
“Like what?” He scoffed, quill etching a little harsher now.
“Like kissing, and…” You trailed off, making a little noise to suggest what you meant. Regulus’ head snapped up, his look of shock almost made you ashamed.
A second passed as he looked at you closely. “You don’t mean…” You did.
You knew that Regulus was just as inexperienced as you in the matter of sex, but you never knew he’d be so shocked at the mention of it. By the look of his face and the shade of pink he was turning, you began to think bringing up the idea was wrong, maybe it could have stayed between you and your girlfriends.
You gave him a guilty look and he placed his quill down onto the table, recoiling.
“Dove!” He hissed. It had always been his nickname for you, ever since you were young. Now, it nearly sounded like a term of endearment.
“Reggie, it’s really not that outrageous to want to try it.” You told him, but he wasn’t having it.
“It is! You’re a respectable young woman, you shouldn’t want for some boy to take your purity.” He took your hand, resting his warm palm over your knuckles. “You’re too good for that, Dove.”
You knew he was right. You didn’t want to regret anything that you did or lose your virginity to the wrong person, but you wanted to experiment, to be a normal teenager instead of worrying about what your mother would think. You knew she’d have a heart attack if she found out what your brother got up to in his spare time.
“I know, but plenty of other Pureblood girls have done it. Merlin, Evan has even done it!” To that, Regulus made a face of disgust.
“He has and he shouldn’t have. The Rosier name is worth more than some experimentation.” Regulus shook his head, you truly hated to see the disappointment in his eyes when he looked at you.
You sighed. “And what about the Greengrasses? All four of the sisters have slept with someone! Nothings happened to them.”
Regulus retracted his hand, folding his arms in front of him like a teacher reprimanding a student. “The Greengrasses are nowhere near our standing, Dove. We are better than them, you are better than them.”
He was right again. Rosiers and Blacks were far more important than the Greengrasses, it was just common knowledge. Your family name would be slandered in High Society if anybody found out that you’d lost your purity to anyone, the Greengrasses didn’t suffer the same issue, fortunately for them.
“I suppose you’re right.” You agreed, sinking back into your seat.
“I am. You’d be best not to mention it again, Dove.” Regulus said, looking back to his parchment and continuing like the conversation had never happened, the only trace of it being the pink dusting his cheekbones and your own memory of it.
You did wonder why Regulus was so dismissive of the idea, you had been taught the same things by your parents and had similar thoughts and experiences, so how come you both disagreed on something like this? Was it just because you were influenced easier by hearsay than he was?
“Reggie.” You called again, and he hummed, again. “Aren’t you curious about what it’s like?”
The question made him sigh and press his quill firmly down onto the table.
“No, and you shouldn’t be either.” He scolded you, flipping his potions book shut with his incomplete essay inside. “Now come on, we need to get to dinner.”
Nothing more was said as the two of you collected your things and exited the library. But that wouldn’t be the end of it.
The next time the subject was brought up was when you were lying on Regulus’ bed as he read.
It had been a week since your conversation in the library, and it hadn’t been discussed since, you were too worried about what Regulus would say. His tone alone made you feel sheepish about your questions and ideas, so you wished to avoid any further reaction from him. Except this time, he was the one to bring it up.
“Dove?” He said from beside you, gently closing his book and resting it flat against his chest.
“Yeah?” You replied, turning your head to look at him, but his eyes were trained on the ceiling firmly like he was avoiding your gaze.
He drew his bottom lip into his teeth, gnawing as though he was nervous. Finally, he spoke. “Why were you speaking to Avery in the common room today?”
Avery had come to speak with you about your astronomy assignment that you’d been paired with each other for, but the conversation lead pleasantly to recent gossip travelling around school. You found him to be good company, albeit a little dull.
“He just came to talk to be about our astronomy homework.” You answered honestly, playing with your fingers that were folded across your stomach.
Regulus hummed. “Really?” He asked, turning his head to you.
“Yes.” You frowned.
He looked at you closely, stormy eyes circling your own as though he was searching for any hint of a lie in your words. Suddenly, he pushed himself up, off of the bed and started towards his bookshelf. You sat up, watching him move away from you. After waiting for a moment for any sort of conversation from him about the subject, you decided to speak first.
“Why do you ask?” You drew your legs up to your chest and rested your chin against his knees. You weren’t blind to when something was bothering him, usually he would keep it to himself until he exploded, but sometimes, he just needed a small push in the right direction and he’d let loose.
You watched his back straighten as he took in a breath.
“I was worried that maybe you were considering him…” He turned to you, and upon seeing the confusion on your face, he added, “…As your boyfriend.”
“What?!” Your face scrunched up. Why on earth would you want to date Avery?
Regulus scratched at his forehead, shrugging slightly awkwardly. “I just thought… After our conversation in the Library…” He trailed off quietly.
“You thought that I’d want to date Avery?”
“Well, maybe not date but-“ He cut himself off, eyes widening as though he had realised what he said. He quickly turned and busied himself in the bookshelf behind him. He didn’t dare to turn and see your face.
Of course, that wasn’t originally your intention, he just wanted to talk about astronomy, but you couldn’t help but think of it once or twice whilst you were talking. You wouldn’t have gone through with it, but you couldn’t help but wonder what it’d be like. And as always, Regulus knew you too well. And he knew he was right too, he was just too embarrassed to mention the act.
“Regulus-!” You began, desperate to defend yourself, but he snapped abruptly.
“You wanted to, didn’t you?” He looked at you, eyes wide. You opened your mouth to speak, but once again he cut you off. “With Avery of all people?”
“I wasn’t going to do anything! That wasn’t my intention, I’m just curious.” That much was true. You wouldn’t let Avery anywhere near you if it came down to it, but you thought about it, what he’d be like when he took his clothes off, what he’d feel like, what he’d sound like. It was vile and perverted, but you couldn’t help it. Not when the idea had been put into your head.
“Well you need to stay curious! Don’t you realise how stupid you’d be to go through with that with someone like him?” Regulus stormed over to his side of the twin bed since you were sat on one side. He avoided your gaze, but it wasn’t out of nerves.
“Someone like him?” You asked.
“Someone who sleeps around as much as he does! Someone who wouldn’t treat you right!” Regulus said, his words filling you with irritation. What would he know about that?
“And you’d know all about that would you?” You scoffed, knowing that he could deny the fact that he’d never been in close proximity with a girl except for you.
His face burned red now, and he looked at you with a mixture of anger and something close to sham. Why should he be ashamed when he was pure, something that he’d been reminding you to stay being?
“I know far more than he does about treating you well.” He sat back against the headboard, a bitter sneer on his mouth.
“And how would you know that? You’ve never even touched a girl who isn’t me! What could you possibly know about sex that he doesn’t?” You snorted, amused at his little frown. As much of a dick that Regulus could be, he was still your best friend and he was still adorable to you.
He seethed where he sat, jolting forward in anger to growl in your face. “I may not have whored myself around like he has, but I’ve known you, I’ve touched you, I’ve seen nearly all of you. I know every part of your body, that’s something that he’ll never know like I do.”
You shook your head, a smile on your face. “Well, there’s one part he would know better than you if it came down to it.” You reminded him, enjoying the moment of silence that befell you. You knew you’d hit a sensitive spot, but you didn’t care.
Regulus fell back against the headboard, not saying another word and you knew that you’d won. He may have been angry, but it was the price he’d pay for being cocky.
You knew he wouldn’t stay angry at you for long, so you curled up, resting your head on his lap, expecting for him to break his facade. Except this time, he didn’t bring his hand to run over your scalp or untangle your hair, he kept his arms crossed, though he made no move to disturb you, it still felt as though he was rejecting you. You let it be, figuring he’d get over it. Except he didn’t.
“I don’t understand your need to sleep with somebody.” He said finally.
You sighed, you knew well before then that he didn’t understand your thoughts about the matter. “You can’t tell me that you’re not curious.” You smiled slightly at him once you’d turned onto your back to look up at him from where you rested on his thighs.
You glanced down at you but looked away quickly. He shrugged with the shake of his head. “I’m not.”
You heard him perfectly, but something about his tone surely indicated that he was lying. You laughed, bringing a hand up to his face and running a finger over the smooth skin of his cheek.
“Oh, Reggie, you know you can’t lie to me.” You grinned ear from ear when he looked down at you with a stern expression.
He shook his head again. “There’s a difference between being curious and trying to find out.” He told you.
“So you admit that you’re curious! See, you’re no better than me.” You quipped and he rolled his eyes. “You don’t need to keep your curiosity a secret, Reggie, I won’t judge.”
He took in a deep breath and a strange unsureness crossed over his face. It was unusual to see Regulus unsure of anything, he always seemed to know everything about everything. Which was why you were worried you’d crossed a line. At least you were until he began to speak again.
“I- It’s just curiosity, it’ll pass.” He said softly, looking down at you and running gentle fingers over the crown of your head.
“You can keep telling yourself that, but don’t you want to know what it feels like?” You pester him with an answer as the back of your hand goes to nudge at his chest, faintly feeling his rapid heartbeat.
He purses his lips and nods so faintly that if you weren’t paying full attention, you’d miss it.
“So why don’t you try?” You ask simply.
His eyes shoot down to you, oddly calm as his chest rose and fell heavily.
“You know I can’t do that, and neither can you. There are other ways to go about things.” Your attention peaked at that.
You frowned. “How do you go about it?” Regulus flushed and opened his mouth to protest before you cut him off. “Please.”
He fell silent as he looked over the room as though he was searching for an answer to give you. He was so quiet for so long that you were worried he’d never speak again, until he shifted lightly under your head and you watched as he swallowed and how his adam’s apple bobbed. You often forgot how much Regulus had grown and how he isn’t the little boy you used to play Gobstones with in his back garden. Now, he was a beautiful man, standing tall and proud like he was supposed to, but you knew him as your Reggie, he was still yours.
“I can tell you, but you have to promise not to stop pursuing these things.” He whispered.
You sat up, facing him now. “I promise.”
He observed you for a second before nodding. “Do you remember when your mother took us for a walk when we were young? Just you and me.”
You frowned, there were lots of times that she’d take you two out whilst your father was teaching your brother duelling tricks. Regulus continued despite your evident confusion.
“She told us why we weren’t the same, because when we used to take baths together we knew that we didn’t look the way the other did.” He explained simply, as though he was talking to a child.
“Regulus, I know you have a dick and I don’t, I don’t need to be reminded.” You said, scrunching your face up in embarrassment at the idea of Regulus having to give you a sex talk.
“I know, I know! What I’m saying is that she taught us how they were different and how they can feel.” He said softly, reaching down to play with your fingers. Despite how uncomfortable the conversation was, he didn’t shy away from you or your touch.
You still weren’t catching on. “Yes?”
“We can… Feel good without having to have sex. Or at least that’s what I took from it.” He looked down shyly.
“How?” You asked incredulously. Despite your mother and your friends having told you about sex, you were nearly entirely clueless, which is how you were supposed to stay according to Pureblood Society. And now it was coming back to bite you in the ass.
Regulus stuttered at your question. “Uh- Well, you can… Touch there.” He said, shifting uncomfortably on the bed as he fiddled with your hand.
You looked at him questioningly. “Is that what you do?”
He looked at you, wide eyes and eventually he tilted his head to the side. “I have before. It’s meant to feel like the real thing, but I don’t know.”
“How do I do it?” Your question was abrupt and rather shocking judging by his face, but you tried to ignore the awkwardness that came between you two.
He began to smile, presumably to diffuse the awkwardness that overcame him. “You, uh, have something that feels nice to touch.” He told you, breathing starting to get rapid.
“Where?” You lean in to him like he was about to whisper a dark secret to you.
“I’m not completely sure.” He admitted, looking at you fully now as you were so close to him.
“Show me how.”
He fell silent, staring at you, unmoving.
“What?!” He hissed.
You frowned. “What?” You asked innocently, not seeing any issue with the request.
“I can’t do that!” He drew away slightly, but still holding your hand firmly.
“Why not?” You whined.
He sighed. “It wouldn’t be right, I can’t touch you like that.” He swallowed.
“Yes you can. You touch me all the time! You’re doing it right now.” You remind him.
“That’s different!”
“How? It’s just touching, I’m not asking you to have sex with me, Reggie.” You told him honestly, you knew that he was against the idea of sleeping around.
He watched you for a second. “If our parents found out-“
“They wouldn’t, nobody has to find out.”
You watch his eyes slowly trace over you. You hadn’t been back to your dorm to get changed, so you remained in your uniform as you both hung out in his room. He took in a long breath before he met your eyes again, then, something was different.
He shifted his leg slightly, so that there was a wider space between them. He patted lightly.
“Sit.”
You obeyed, dropping down into the space. You were used to sitting like this with him because of how you both read together, so this felt no different except for the anticipation running through your body. You rested your back against his chest and his chin found the crook of your neck.
You shifted to get comfortable before he spoke again. “Take these off.” He instructed as he ran a nimble hand over your tight-clad legs.
You slipped a hand beneath the band of the tights and slipped them down over your calf’s before he took them from you and dropped them on the wooden floor. He placed a hesitant hand on your thigh.
“Just say the word and we can stop, Dove.” He told you and pressed a kiss on your clothed shoulder. You hummed a quick ‘okay’ in response and his soft hand traveled up slowly to grip at the inside of your thigh. A sudden burst of warmth engulfed you beneath your underwear at the sudden attention on your leg.
He then pressed a wet kiss on your neck and the warmth intensified slightly. Without warning, his cool touch slipped beneath the elastic band of your underwear and began to pull them off. You allowed him to unhook them from over your feet and place them in a small bundle beside him. Your lower half was completely exposed, but not for him to see, he made sure of that to preserve some kind of modesty on your behalf.
He brought his slim fingers to his lips, wetting them with his spit before he brought them down onto you without warning. You let out a shaky breath as his fingers spread moisture over your sensitive folds. It was a feeling completely new to you, but it was welcomed as his fingers focused attention on you, circling and rubbing over an area you weren’t sure of.
You sighed suddenly as he pressed down harder and your feet pushed you back into his chest. His mouth opened slightly, almost shocked that he could spur this reaction out of you. His hot breath fanned onto your neck as he worked further into your pussy.
His finger slid through the steadily gathering wetness around your hole and you felt a strange tinge run through your groin. He ran the slippery wetness over you, bringing it all back up the top of your fluttering pussy. You wet your lips as you watched his perfect hands roll over the flesh gently, and you wondered how he was so good at what he was doing.
“How did you learn to do this?” Your voice surprised even you as it came out desperate and gravelly. He sighed into your neck at the sound before he replied.
“My brother used to tell me how.” It was true, Sirius would come home and regale Regulus with stories of whichever girl he was shagging that week, so it was no surprise to you that he’d picked up some knowledge over the years.
His finger began to circle harder, causing you to let out a mewl, a sound that Regulus liked. You could tell by the way he nuzzled further into your neck with a soft sound of his own.
“Oh my Merlin.” He sighed and you wove your fingers through his dark tresses, pulling him closer into you. You wondered if he liked this as much as you did, after all, he’d never even touched a girl before.
Your mouth hung open, legs spreading further open, allowing him to touch more of you as you opened up for him. Your sounds grew more desperate at the you warmth spread more intensely around you.
“Reggie.” You whined, you didn’t know what to ask him to do. Whether you wanted him to go faster or press harder, you didn’t know. You just needed him to do anything he could.
But what you didn’t expect was for him to whine just the same into your hair as his hand seemed to work on its own. He circled both faster and harder, it was like he read your mind.
His spare arm held you tighter, keeping you taut to him as the warmth spread.
Your breathing quickened and your heartbeat heightened and your stomach began to ache? But that couldn’t be right, it felt too good to be a stomach ache. You called to him again, he had to know.
“Reggie.” It somehow sounded more desperate now. Your hand grappled onto his hair as you grew warmer and warmer. “It feels- It feels strange.” You told him as best as you could.
He nodded into you, fingers still working the same as they were, like he knew how to make the ache go away. He shushed you gently. “I know, I know.”
You cried out, legs beginning to close on their own accord despite how much you wanted to keep them open. You shook, you couldn’t help it, not as the warmth exploded and the coil of aching disappeared into a sweet tang in your mouth and a fog over your brain.
Your jaw hung ajar, like you would scream at any moment, but nothing came out, it felt too good to scream.
With his fingers slowing, you could finally feel sense as your legs dropped apart, tingling from the force of pleasure that captured your body. Regulus placed another array of kisses over you, whispering things that you couldn’t hear as your heartbeat slowed down at last.
“You’re amazing.” He said, now wrapping both hands around your waist as you came to your senses.
You couldn’t reply, you could only make a tiny breathy sound to counter him. You felt him smile against your skin.
“So good.” He breathed against you amongst the rest of his sweet nothings. You lay against him, wet and burning at the same time as he cooed at you. You were sure you could fall asleep against his chest as the minutes went by and you grew sleepier than before. Until it washed over you.
“Maybe Avery doesn’t know that part as well as you do.”

this says a lot about Snape's character development for me. There are many parallels drawn throughout the series between Harry and Snape; obviously, they're very different characters but there are similarities too.
I think here Snape is talking about himself. The teenaged Snape we see in the Pensieve is very much like this- emotional, heart on his sleeve, easily provoked, a definite wallower in sad memories... weak. Adult Snape, though he retains some of these characteristics that do emerge in stressful moments (in PoA we see how angrily he reacts to Sirius's escape, for instance) on the whole is a great deal more thoughtful, reserved, calculating, measured.
I think that Snape at some point had to force himself to become this. I think he actually relates to Harry here, and is giving him advice based on personal experience. In my fic he begins to learn to control his emotions partially out of a desire to protect Lily; he's fully aware that she's his weakness (or really, his strength, viewed a different way) and that openly displaying any sort of emotion towards her at all makes her vulnerable to the likes of Avery and Mulciber, who will have the perfect weapon to get to him if they want to.
Severus doesn't have the advantages of his peers, he's not pureblood, he wasn't born into money. If he wants to join the Death Eaters and rise in their ranks, he needs to be subtle, cunning, careful. he can't afford to be careless and entitled like mulciber or bellatrix or even sirius. what he's got to offer isn't his name or his money, it's his sheer talent and cleverness. moving on:
When Voldemort decides to go after Lily this becomes even more important. Imo the reason why Voldemort believes that Snape only "desired" Lily is because that's what Snape told him. He lied to Voldemort's face and told him something probably disgusting tbh because that's the only way Voldemort would accept it and agree, if it was a selfish, callous request that Voldemort could understand. We can see evidence of this here:
Tumblr media
Asking Voldemort to spare a mudblood because he was in love with her would likely not have gone over well- and as we know, Voldemort actually bore his request in mind, though obv didn't give enough of a fuck about Snape to follow through. Because although asking voldemort to spare her must have taken serious balls, Snape's mistake here was trusting someone inherently selfish to do something selfless for him.
Clearly he immediately realises this and goes to Dumbledore, which is when controlling his emotions becomes of paramount importance, because now he's working against perhaps the most highly accomplished legilimens of all time.
It's also interesting to me that Snape in this conversation is probably the character who is most forthright and informative with Harry in the whole of OotP until Dumbledore at the end; Harry actually learns a lot in this conversation. And Snape also kind of gives him credit which is interesting too:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
like for Snape that's high praise lmao. A shame because if he wasn't so bitter (i.e. didn't wear his heart on his sleeve so much around harry) then he might have actually been pretty helpful to Harry and a decent teacher. Again, during the Occlumency lessons his unrestrained emotion brought up by memories of James is a hindrance. He defies Dumbledore's orders to teach Harry Occlumency because of his emotional response to SWM, as well as honestly doing kind of a shit job before that (by not being empathetic and teaching Harry in a way that would've been actually productive.)
At this point Dumbledore believes that Harry learning Occlumency and controlling his emotions is of vital importance; he turns out to be wrong about this. In Harry's case, it turns out to be his emotional nature that saves him- unlike Snape, who is the opposite. Snape's journey is about learning that some things are more important than his selfish need to give into his own emotions.
By DH Snape's learned this lesson fully; his old hatred for James doesn't stop him from doing what has to be done, from giving Harry the tools he needs. Even in the final moments of his life, he can look past James and see Lily in Harry- and, by giving Harry the information that leads to his self-sacrifice, he can let her go.

Hi! It’s so cute what you’ve written about Regulus. Could I request a blurb about Regulus being so smitten with reader that he pretty much forgets how to breathe and therefore never answers whenever she talks to him? Either with them already dating or just being classmates ☺️
Hope you have a lovely day!
sorry for the wait lovely, i hope you enjoy !! :)
— take my breath away
regulus black x reader ★ 1.1k words
Divination is shit. A complete load of dragon shit. There's no hard research behind it, no factual information, just conclusions based off of feelings. Regulus doesn't understand visions and wanting to know what's to come. He's has his future planned out for him, so what were tea leaves and crystal balls going to do for him?
Continue the Most Ancient and Noble House of Black family legacy, be the perfect son and the top student in every class. Easy enough for Regulus, except for being 3rd in Divination because he "lacked natural aptitude". How ridiculous. Lucky for him his parents were far more focused on him doing well in Charms and Potions than reading tarot cards and interpreting dreams.
The one thing he doesn't mind seeing during this period was you, someone he could never dream of having the pleasure to call his. You weren't born into a pureblood family, and weren't even close to rivaling him academically. He doesn't ever recall seeing you at a quidditch match either, at least not when Slytherin was playing. With your effortless beauty and blinding smile, he's confident he would have noticed you among the others in the stands.
Regulus doesn't know when he started to crush on you, it just kind of happened. One day he started to notice small things about you, from your baby blue nail polish to your lavender perfume that did everything but calm his heartrate. He would pass by your table on the way to his own and see you reading what he assumed to be muggle poetry. The quiet Slytherin would look for those same muggle poetry books in the library late at night. He liked it when the sun sometimes shone right on your face, your eyes squinting and nose scrunching adorably. You would often mumble haikus and villanelles to yourself during class, plush lips moving quietly as you stared out the window, in your own world.
Just like today, you hovered over your parchment, your quill moving in a way that it was obvious that you were not taking notes on the lecture being given. The professor noticed your distracted state, calling your name out. "Please tell us all what ovomancy is."
"It's.. erm.." you giggled nervously, your face flushing with embarrassment. "Sorry Professor, I wasn't paying attention."
Regulus held back a lovesick sigh, smiling to himself as you continued to doodle on your parchment as soon as the professor sighed and turned their back. As lucky as he wished he was, he wasnt daft enough to believe he was your only admirer.
Edgar Bones was a charming guy. Regulus wonders what was so funny about him that he had you giggling behind your hand, his knuckles turning white as he gripped his quill a little too tight. Every table was assigned a different method, so while he and his partner were busy taking notes on capnomancy, you and Bones were having fun with palmistry. The bitter Slytherin supposed the smoke he felt coming out of his ears meant jealousy, watching Edgar asking to hold your hand to see if he can read it that way.
"Merde, ça n'a rien à voir avec.." he hissed, his anger turning to yearning as he craved to be the one holding your hand.

Ah, less-- less bright
Are the stars of night
Than the eyes of the radiant girl!
And never a flake
That the vapor can make
With the moon-tints of purple and pearl,
Can vie with the modest Eulalie's
most unregarded curl-
Can compare with the bright-eyed Eulalie's
most humble and careless curl.
Regulus Black feels pathetic, writing love notes like a little schoolboy. Especially if his parents found out he was quoting muggle poetry. But there he was in the corner of the library, copying down yet another poem to leave on your table at the beginning of your next shared class.
He arrived early to Divination, quickly setting his folded parchment on your table and then sitting at his own. It's been weeks since he began to anonymously leave you poetry, too shy to talk to you face to face. You always read the letter and put it into your school bag, so hopefully you were keeping them and not tossing them out later when no one was watching. Regulus' knee bounced under the table as the other students started to file in, his eyes darting between the door and the folded parchment he left for you. He decided to get started on his next letter, hunching over his parchment to get the words just right.
Regulus was too distracted by perfecting his penmanship to notice you walk into the classroom and watch as he gently placed today's poem on your table. You smiled to yourself and went to your seat, tracing your beautifully written name with your finger. You had felt flattered when you first started receiving the letters, assuming that it had been your flirty class partner Edgar, but quickly realized that he wasn't the type to do such a thing.
"Your cursive letters weren't this perfect when you first started leaving me poetry, have you been practicing for me Regulus Black?"
Regulus gasps a little too fast, choking in surprise at your discovery. He turns away to cough into his sleeve like the proper boy he is. You grinned at the young heir, picking up his newest letter he had been working on.
His eyes widened and frantically waved his hands, trying to take the letter back but you held it behind you out of his reach. "You don't have to read th—"
"Shut up Regulus."
He placed his hands back in his lap, his ears burning red as you read his letter in front of him, the corners of your mouth turning upwards. Regulus felt himself holding his breath, knowing he had to say something now or sit there looking like a fool. He took a quick breath and kept his eyes on the parchment as he rushed his words out. "Perhaps, we could go to the library one day and read poetry together?"
He shouldn't have looked up because he felt himself lose oxygen again when he saw your enchanting self was smiling cheekily down at him.
"Or we could go down by the lake and you could read me some of your favorites?"
Regulus agrees with a shy nod and makes a mental note to use the Bubble-Head charm in case he forgets to breathe. He'll forget all about the charm later when your head is laying sleepily on his shoulder as he recites old poetry from his journal.

“It’s a nice out tonight.”
You sat down on the edge of the astronomy tower next to Draco. The summer breeze danced across your heated cheeks, cooling you down. The events from twenty minutes ago still boiled your blood and you wanted nothing more than to go back to the Slytherin common room and give Pansy a good wack. Maybe even a curse or jinx.
“What do you want, Draco?” you asked, not daring to look over at him.
“What’s Pansy talking about?”
You took a deep breath. Apparently Draco wasn’t going to beat around the bush with this. You could see him looking at you from your peripherals, his blue eyes haunting in the moonlight. You debated your options. Tell Draco what started this mess, or pretend like you didn’t know. Instinctively, you wanted to choose the latter, but Draco knew you too well, and he’d know you were lying. Even without looking at him. You pursed your lips.
“Remember the Amortentia potion?” you started. You didn’t give him the opportunity to answer as you continued. “I didn’t smell my boyfriend – ex-boyfriend. I smelled you.” You kept your eyes on the moon, ignoring your peripherals. Ignoring your body tingling as Draco scooted closer to you. “Pansy asked me who I smelled. She found out, somehow. I didn’t even tell her, didn’t want to.”
“You always were a bad liar,” Draco said softly. You noted the way his fingers twitched where it rested on his leg, almost as if he wanted to touch you, but decided against it.
“Yeah,” you responded. “I am.” Your heart beat in your chest wildly. Of all the things he could have said, he decided to point out your inability to lie? Had you not just dropped a bomb of information on him? Did he not even care? Your stomach flipped at the thought, legs tingling. What if he didn’t care? What would you do? Would your friendship be over?
You dared a peak at Draco. He was looking at the moon now, admiring her glow. Her haunted rays of light made Draco almost glow, the light bouncing off his light blonde hair. He looked almost like an angel. A haunted, fallen angel. You looked away from him and focused your gaze on the ground hundreds of feet below you. You’re not even sure if you could see the ground properly, or if that was just a thick layer of mist.
“It’s a good thing for me, though,” Draco said suddenly, breaking the awkward silence. Or maybe the silence was only awkward for you?
“Why?”
Draco looked at you, a small smile playing on his lips. “Because I like bad liars. I like you.”
Your eyes met Draco’s and you searched for any deceit. The only thing you saw was sincerity and…longing. Had he always looked at you like that?
You shifted under his gaze and returned your eyes to the floor—or the mist—whatever that was.
“You don’t have to pity me, Draco.”
You heard him scoff. “I was never taught to pity anyone. I’m telling the truth, Y/N, I like you. More than a friend. And I think you like me more than a friend, too.”
It was your turn to scoff now, only when you did it, it sounded more like a weak laugh. “What gave it away — the amortentia?”
Draco smiled and moved closer to you. “Something like that.”
You returned the smile and rested your head on his shoulder. You took a deep breath of relief and contentment. Apples. Leather. Galleons. Just as you had smelt in the potion days ago.
Perhaps a part of you had always known your feelings for Draco were beyond that of friendship. He was the closest person in your life, had been there the longest, too. Whatever shit was going on with your parents, you had always found each other. It seemed fitting you would find your way to be together, and you were sure your parents would have arranged it anyways. Purebloods, they would have said, are meant to be together. That didn’t matter to you. You were with Draco because you wanted to.
You looked up at him through your lashes to find that he was already looking at you. Without missing a beat, you leaned forward and kissed him. His lips were soft and a bit dehydrated, but it felt right. This felt right. You both were still children in society’s eyes, but you knew, somehow, that this would last.

Originally put this in a message to someone but I'm still salty so I'm posting it here too.
I just keep thinking about how Dumbledore is presented as this great advocate for equality and justice in the Wizarding World but what does he actually do? For example, it's said he "opposed" the killing of the last giants in Britain (implying there was a state sanctioned genocide btw) but like...how did he oppose it? Dumbledore does not care about respecting the Ministry or following the law when it doesn't suit him ad he is also tremendously powerful and essentially has his own private army. (Not to mention that until Voldemort's second reign it seems he was generally respected and influential in the Ministry and held a lot of sway there). So if he really wanted to stop it, he could've done a lot but it sort of seems as though he was more like 'oh no...don't do that...oh well...'
And there are so many other instances like this. He says Sirius was wrong to mistreat Kreacher but did he even once try to intervene? Does he ever make a rule saying that using slurs like "Mudblood" is against the rules? He has full control of the Hogwarts curriculum until 5th year but does he make Muggle Studies mandatory to expose Purebloods to information that could prevent their radicalization into anti-Muggle organizations? Does he try to get legislation passed to prevent the wanton use of spells on Muggles to modify or wipe their memories despite the risks of such magic? No! He does none of these things.
He seems pretty happy to let the status quo be and focuses mainly on Tom Riddle - who he has been bizarrely fixated on in a kind of disturbing way since the first time they met - while ignoring the larger, systemic problems in wizarding society and doing little to aid the groups he claims to represent.

"all generations of potters fall in love with blacks"
strap in, this is a long one
i propose to you euphemia black.
euphemia who took her little cousin, walburga, under her wing the moemnt she was born. they played together, effie was the situated babysitter despite being only 6 years older.
effie who walburga used to call eff all throughout.
effie when she went to hogwarts and came back to tell walburga tales of hogwarts, and walburga listened about the mystical and magical stuff.
walburga who wanted to get a job in the high ranks of the ministry and wanted to study hard for it. euphemia who would come back from hogwarts and teach her small stuff.
slowly as euphemia got older, she started to rebel a bit, hanging out with muggles and always with that blood traitor fleamont potter.
cut to walburga joins hogwarts and she's scared that no one will like her cz she's not cool like euphemia, she's just smart.
euphemia gives up time with her friends to stay with walburga, show her around, entertain her, tutor her and everything.
walburga when she goes home and get scolded by her parents and told to stop hanging out with euphemia and to hang around with her pureblood friend but walburga likes euphemia so she continues.
thats up until she comes back from her secodn year and her mother threatens her and walburga is like well im only hanging out with euphemia to gather info (in an attempt to save herself) and she rats out that effie is not only dating monty but also intends to elope with him.
effie gets disowned and theres a kind of target put on her and Monty's back. walburga writes and writes to her apologizing, but she doesn't accept.
walburga then has no choice but to play perfect daughter, to do as shes told, to marry young.
when walburga finds out that her son (sirius) and euphemias son would be going in the same year, she warns sirius, in her own sadistic manner, to never engage with him.
when sirius comes back yapping about the potter boy, she yells at him, but she just doesn't want him hurt as she was.
when james comes home talking about sirius black, euphemia has to close her eyes shut and remind herself that she promised herself she wouldnt meddle in her son's friendships.
when walburga tries her best to draw out information about sirius's friends out of him and he doesn't give out a word she knows that her son is stronger than she ever was.
she sees sirius rebel, again and again, despite her emotional, mental and physical torture and she hates him for being better than her, and yet she loves him all the same for that reason.
sirius runs away, and she could make the potters' life hell just like her family did with eff all those years ago but she doesnt. shes heartbroken, shes angry, shes sad, shes livid but a part of herself is proud of her son for doing what she never had the courage to.
when The Prank™ takes place and euphemia watches as it takes her son time, maybe a long time, but he still forgives sirius and they treat him as they did before, she realises that the boy she raised is a better and bigger person than she ever could be.
as walburga watches her younger son break under the pressure of one sharp look and a few loud words to reveal that sirius ran away, she hates regulus at that moment. hates him for not being like sirius, hates him for being a coward, but most of, she hates him for being herself, for being her mirror.
years go by, she leaves sirius' room untouched, shes not worthy enough to step in.
the war rages around them and euphemia, years later, opens one of walburgas letters. she reads the tear stained, smudged words as she takes in the sweet innocence of the letter. euphemia potter has always been a self assured woman, though at that moment she couldn't help but hate herself.
she hates how now she sees walburga in sirius, she sees sirius laugh with james and dance with remus and play with peter and wonders if walburga couldve had this life.
she welcomes death with open arms a monh later, but not before sending her own letter.
walburga watches the letter catch fire until all that's left of it is gray ash because she knows that euphemia all but did the same.
when walburga gets regulus' death letter, she, for the first time in years, breaks down.
she realises at that moment that she isnt a horrid person because of her circumstances, she just is.

just imagining (canon compliant) Theodore Nott dating fem!Wolfstar!reader and like the angst of it because realistically, Sirius’ daughter dating a Slytherin?? Sirius’ daughter dating a Nott?? A very well known family of followers of Voldemort? And all Remus knows about Theo is that he was the quietest of the boys in reader and Theo’s year and that he didn’t spend time with Draco and Draco’s friends. Sirius tries to get information from Harry and Harry doesn’t even know Theo exists so he asks Hermione who Theo is and Hermione rolls her eyes because Theo is not only a lone wolf and quiet, but he’s highly skilled in Potions and Ancient Runes and it frustrates Hermione because she has never once seen Theo in the library studying.
(Non-canon compliant because Enzo is a fanon character) So Harry asks Neville, Seamus, and Dean for more information because while Remus knows enough information to judge now, Sirius is still not too happy about this arrangement. Harry learns from Neville, Seamus, and Dean that Theo rarely speaks, but they have seen the boy hang out with Enzo and Blaise on numerous occasions.
Sirius is still not too pleased because while he now knows Theo is not a complete loner who’s intelligent is normal Pureblood subjects, Theo is friends with a Zabini, a rich and powerful family, and a Berkshire, a Pureblood family not part of the Sacred 28 and Sirius isn’t too impressed in the choice of friends the Nott boy has made. Sirius asks Harry to get Ron’s brothers, known pranksters and troublemakers who are good friends of reader, to pull a prank in Theo’s vicinity to see how the Slytherin reacts. Sirius believes that a guy who doesn’t enjoy pranks isn’t good enough for his daughter.
So Fred and George pull off a prank on Lorenzo Berkshire while Enzo’s spending time with Blaise and Theo. The twins somehow, I’m not good at writing pranks, get paint all over Enzo and Blaise and Theo by accident. Enzo’s trying to laugh it off because it’s Fred and George, they obviously didn’t mean any harm while Blaise is disgruntled and trying to not hex the twins because now he has to wash paint out of his hair which is not an easy task and he’s just praying the paint Fred & George used wasn’t acrylic. Theo’s smirking and holding back a chuckle at Enzo and Blaise’s reactions, not even noticing the paint that splattered onto him. Fred and George are rolling around on the grass, laughing so hard their lungs hurt and while all of this is happening, reader is only standing a distance away, mouth ajar and eyes wide because Fred and George had sworn Theo would be off limits now that Theo was dating reader.
I might honestly end up writing this myself because I’m so hooked on it now. Also, in my mind fem!Wolfstar!reader is also a Ravenclaw and secretly highly mischievous.

Ominis Gaunt x MC! Reader
MINORS DO NOT INTERACT
Warnings: Smut
Summary: Ominis and Y/n have been through everything together. They slowly fell in love and as time went on, they started to date. Now, they are ending their 6th year and starting the 7th year. Ominis decided that he would spend the Christmas holiday with his beloved with her family in London. Ominis is finally ready to tell her something.
Tumblr media
Ominis met Y/n outside of the castle.
"I almost thought you got lost for a minute, Omi."
She kissed the male's cheek and intertwined hands with him. The blonde blushed and chuckled,
"Yeah. I'm just a little nervous to meet your family for the first time. Then, Sebastian stopped me and... yeah..."
The (H/c) colored girl just giggled,
"It's okay, Ominis. My family already knows a lot about you. You are family in their eyes and they know that you need your wand to guide you. There are wizards as well, remember? Purebloods who decided to spend their off time in the Muggle world. You're going to fit right in and sense new things. Don't be nervous, okay?"
Ominis nodded and kissed her the back of her hand,
"Okay. I'm ready to go."
With that, they apparated right outside of the grand doors of the L/n manor. Y/n opened the doors and led Ominis inside.
"Mom! Dad! I'm home!"
Ominis stood in slight shock. She addressed them so... so informally. What shocked him more was the response.
The fast clicking of heels rushed towards them,
"Y/n! Ominis! Welcome home!"
Y/n's mother hugged Y/n first and kissed the top of her head. The younger lady chuckled and gestured to Ominis,
"Ominis, this is my mother, Alice."
Ominis did his standard bow to her mother,
"It's a pleasure, Mrs. L/n."
The lady let out a laugh,
"No need for formalities, Ominis. Call me mom!"
Alice pulled the blind boy into a warm embrace while looking to Y/n and saying,
"It seems your going to be ushered into our family at the rate I see it."
Y/n blushed along with Ominis,
"M-mom!"
The older lady giggled and released Ominis,
"Come along, you two. Alex is this way!"
The red-haired lady led them into the den. A man sat in a lounge chair reading a newspaper. He looked up as his wife entered the room. His face then turned into a smile as he spotted his beloved daughter,
"My little Viper!"
Y/n smiled back and made her way over to her father.
"Hi, Dad."
The older man pulled her into an embrace and kissed her cheek,
"How has been Hogwarts been treating you?"
The girl hugged him back,
"It's been wonderful. I brought Ominis with me."
Said blind boy stood rigidly, unsure what to really do in this situation. Alice gently guided him closer to Alex,
"He is a sweet boy. Be nice, Alex."
Alex chuckled and released Y/n, who stood next to the blond.
"Well, son. I'm Alex, Y/n's father. I heard a lot about you and... I already like you. So, just treat my daughter right and we'll be alright, Okay?"
Ominis nodded and stuttered out a 'yes sir'. The brunette man stood and clasped his shoulder with a chuckle,
"We're gonna get along swimmingly. Y/n, something new is going to happen this year. The whole family will be gathered to feast on Christmas Eve and open presents on Christmas Day! So, to accommodate everyone I hope you don't mind sharing a room."
"Who will I share it with?"
Alice smiled at her daughter's innocence before continuing for her husband,
"Why Ominis, of course. We know he won't be comfortable with the rambunctious boy cousins so, we decided that would be the most comfortable for all of us."
Y/n's eyes widened and she looked to her mother, who winked back in response. Ominis heard her father chuckle again and squeeze his shoulder,
"Go ahead and show Ominis to your room. Dinner should be ready in an hour and a half, Okay?"
Y/n nodded and gently grasped Ominis's hand with a gentle tug, she led him up the stair case to her room.
She opened the door to her room. Home. Her room wasn't as large as her parents but it was the next largest one. She had a king sized bed and light blue bedding. To the left of the entrance, was a private bathroom with a shower and separate bath.
Y/n closed the door behind Ominis once they entered, she led him to the bed and they sat together.
"Are you okay with this, Omi? I can convince them to give you a room if you are uncomfortable."
Ominis shook his head quickly,
"No no no. I'm okay with this arrangement as long as you are. I can trust you and you can trust me. I love you, My Dearest."
Y/n smiled and kissed his cheek,
"I'm okay with this. Now, I'm going to get changed into some more... Familiar clothing."
She walked to the closet and opened it to reveal new clothes for her and... clothes for Ominis? The closet was halved. On the left side was Y/n's dresses and on the right side was male clothing. She shook her head with a smile,
"Omi."
"Yes?"
"My parents have clothing for you as well. The put them in my closet. Would you like to change as well?"
Ominis felt a warm feeling come from his chest. What was this? Familial love? He felt cared for, other that Y/n's care. This was something he never had. He actually... enjoys this.
"Yes. I would. You can pick out my outfit, of course."
She giggled and pulled an outfit from the closet,
"I'll describe the outfit and you say yes or no."
Ominis nodded.
"So, the outfit I picked are black slacks, a white button down and dark blue vest. There is a dark green vest as well. Which one?"
Ominis smiled in the girl's directions,
"Which ever one you would like me to wear, Love."
"Hmmmm. Okay, you are going to where the green vest because I want to where my green dress and then, we'll match! Sound good?"
Ominis nodded with a smile,
"It will be an honor to match you, Y/n."
Y/n walked over to him and set the outfit next to him on the best. She gave him a kiss. Small, sweet, and passionate. She broke the kiss and walked back over to her closet,
"Okay, Darling. I'm going to change in the bathroom. You change in here. I'll knock before I come out, Okay? Call for me if you need me."
With that, the door shut, leaving Ominis alone with his thoughts. He slowly started to remove his Slytherin robe and moved to the buttons on his shirt.
He thought about how his family welcomed him with such open arms, much like how Y/n welcomed him into his feelings for her. He loved her dearly. After the whole Sebastian incident and so forth, she was so strong in the face of it all. He was there to comfort her in her dark times and she did for him as well. They have been together for about two years and only started kissing 4 months ago. She was so patient with him. Whatever boundary he set, she respected it no matter what.
She deserved more. He wanted to give everything to her to prove to himself he was one hundred percent in this relationship like she was. He decided he will do it when the time was right.
->->->->->->
It's Christmas Eve.
The first night Y/n and Ominis slept in the same bed together was slightly awkward at first but, when Y/n cuddled into his chest when she was sleeping, he was comfortable. He held her close every night from then one. He loved her presence so close to him. He couldn't help but think about how much closer they could be by the end of Winter break. The thought excited him.
Y/n scrambled about the house in her Christmas Eve attire. A dark red adored her frame. The gold accents only seems to make her more beautiful from what Ominis could detect with his wand. He wore a matching vest to compliment her outfit and to show that they were together. Ominis took pride in that fact that she always chose to match. It made his heart swoon.
Her H/c locks were curled and styled to taste. She looked ethereal to him. She helped her mother decorate the house and helped the house elves and maids with preparing the meal along with her mother. They always treated there helpers as equals. Ominis admired that fact.
"Ominis. Come, join me in the den. It's better than accidently getting tackled by the perfectionist."
Ominis chuckled along with the older man and followed him into the den. He took a seat in the arm chair across from Alex.
"So, Ominis. I know it's a sensitive topic for you but, I have a couple questions for you. Is that okay?"
The blind boy nodded,
"Yes. I'll try to answer them to the best of my ability, Alex."
The older male chuckled,
"Just call me Dad. I already see you as my Son-In-Law. You won it over in my eyes."
Ominis could only nod and let out,
"Of course, Dad."
Alex cleared his throat,
"I know how the Gaunt family is. I know how purity oriented they are. I had a family the same way. They only wanted me to marry a pureblood Slytherin girl but, I chose to be with Alice. It was by luck she was a Pureblood Gryffindor girl. I truly didn't care if she was a 'mudblood' or not. I loved her. Now, with that said, my concern is that your parents won't accept Y/n for who she is. Yes, a pureblood but, we both know she doesn't act they way they want her to be. Are you ready to be disowned if, and when, this happens?"
Ominis sat a slight shock. He related to his family problems? He looked up at Alex,
"I don't know if Y/n told you this but, when she was dealing with the discovery of her magic abilities, we were there for each other every step of the way. Through thick and thin, we survived Ranrok and Dark Magic. I am prepared to sacrifice myself for her if be needed. I love Y/n. So, to answer the question directly, Yes, Dad, I'm ready for that day to happen. I know what my family do and I hate the Gaunt name that I'm stuck with. I want nothing more than for it to be nothing. Y/n means the world to me. I will do anything for her if need be."
Alex nodded, leaned forward, and rested a hand on the younger boy's shoulder,
"My feeling was right about you. You will treat Y/n perfectly. One more thing, Son. I would be more than happy if you take the L/n name. It's there when you are ready for it."
Before Ominis could say anything, Y/n walked in,
"Boys! Time to greet the family! They should be here any moment."
Ominis felt Y/n gently take his hand to lead him and the hand on his shoulder give him a reassuring squeeze as it departed. The four stood by the door as it opened. They greeted the extended family with warm smiles. Y/n made sure to introduce Ominis to everyone. Soon enough, voices filled the large house. All warm and friendly. Ominis felt happy as he wrapped his arms around Y/n's waist as the stood by the door, watching the rest of the family chatter and the kids play.
Y/n rested her head on his chest. He looked down and kissed the top of her head. For once, he felt accepted. He felt at home.
->->->->->->->
After dinner ended, the younger children surrounded Ominis on one of the many Living Room couches. Y/n was helping her mother clean up so, she wasn't there to save him from the barrage of questions of the rambunctious children.
"How do you see your outfits?"
"Well-"
"How do you know if your hair is bushed correctly?!"
"I Usually-"
"How do you not trip up the stairs all the time?"
"How do you know who is who?"
The questions kept coming. He didn't have a chance to answer because they just flew by too fast. He felt his cheeks warm up. He was almost at his breaking point until,
"Hey! Ya'll stop bothering my Boyfriend! How about this? Take some cloth and tie it around your head and try to navigate the world, hm? Put yourself in his shoes."
The children scrambled and went to bother their parents for cloth for there new game. Y/n gently sat next to Ominis and rubbed his back. She kissed his cheek gingerly,
"I'm sorry I wasn't quicker. They can be a little much at times."
Ominis rested his hand on her covered thigh,
"It's okay. Curiosity of children are overwhelming at time. I'm just happy to rescued me before I exploded."
Y/n giggled and rubbed the back of his hand that rested on her lap. He sighed, "I'm feeling a little drained. This is the most interaction I had in a long time."
Y/n nodded,
"Same here. You can retire for the night. I'll join you shortly after I make sure no one needs anything else."
Ominis smiled and kiss her gently. She kissed him back as she slowly stood up in front of him. They locked eyes for a few seconds until they heard a thump and a child cry out with an 'Owwwwww'.
They both let out a laugh as Ominis stood up. He hugged her and kissed the top of her head,
"I'll see you when you retire, My Dearest."
He then departed to their shared room. His mind racing with thoughts of how he was going to approach Y/n when she comes to him in a few.
->->->->->
Y/n finally caught a break to excuse herself to her room. She walked in with a sigh of relief. She looked so see Ominis leaning against the bedframe with his wand over a book. His eyes flicked over to her at the sound of her entrance. He wasn't wearing his normal night attire. He wasn't wearing his night shirt. Here he was, waiting for her shirtless in her bed. She blushed at the sight.
"O-omi? Did I keep you waiting long?"
The blond shook his head, closed his book, and set it aside,
"No. Not at all, My Love."
She let out a breath she didn't realize she was holding and moved toward her closet, trying to undo her corset in the process. She muttered angerly to herself as she accidently tightened it,
"This damned thing."
Ominis chuckled, his keen hearing hearing her struggle,
"If you don't mind, I could do it for you if you like."
Y/n's face heated up. She stuttered out a quick 'yes please' and moved over to the side of the bed he was sat. His hands gently felt along her shoulders down to the corset. With skilled fingers, he undid her corset. The girl pulled if off of her body. The top of her dress fell forward, exposing her breast to the cool air.
Ominis's hands met with the bare skin of her back. He felt a shiver run through her. He moved his hands to her waist and gripped gently. He felt her look over at him. He smiled,
"I've been doing some thinking, Y/n. I... I think I'm ready to take things farther with us. You have always been so patient and respected my boundaries. I think I'm ready to take this new step. I love you. So so much, My Love."
Y/n's eyes widened and her jaw slacked. This was sudden for Ominis. Usually they have a thought out conversation about the topic and take it from there. Now, here he is, telling her he is ready for her. She instantly let her dress drop, pooling around her feet. She stood in nothing but her lace panties. She turned her body towards him, his hands still holding her naked waist.
Her hand caressed his cheek,
"Darling, I love you so so much. If it gets too much, tell me, okay? We'll go at your pace, Darling."
Ominis couldn't help but smile. He loved how kind she is. It only fueled the fire in his chest for her. He moved his hands to her hips and pulled her close and kissed her. She let out a little noise of surprise before melting into him. Her hands moved to his bare shoulders.
As the kiss intensified, Ominis threw off the blanket from covering him from the waist down, revealing him in his boxers. Y/n took the hint and moved to straddle his hips. After parting the kiss, she moved and kissed down his neck. His breath quickened and his heartrate as well. Losing himself in the feeling, he titled his head back as he let out a groan.
Y/n smiled against his neck and moved her hands to his. She moved them from her hips to her breast,
"You can touch as much as you would like. I'm yours, Ominis."
His hands squeezed her breasts, playing with her nipples as she kissed along his shoulder. His mind went blank. He couldn't think, only feel. When he pinched her perky tips, she let out a moan into his skin and grinded her hips against his hard on. He gasped at the friction, his hands gripped her lace covered hips and panted out,
"A-again. Please."
Y/n did it again. Ominis let himself fall back against the bed. His beloved perched atop of him. She connected the dots quickly. This was his first time. She wasn't a virgin, much to her dismay. Firewhiskey and being alone with Sebastian don't mix. It never happened again, much to the brunette's dismay, and she regretted that it ever happened.
She smiled and ground against him, resting her hand on his chest for leverage. His hands gripped her hips tightly. She knew it was going to leave bruises by morning. Y/n kissed his neck and continued to kiss down his body.
Ominis drowned in the pleasure he was receiving. He felt his abdomen twist and tightened. He wasn't oblivious to sexual activities. He heard other males in his dorm brag about there experience. He did jerk off once in a while and have dirty thoughts. He didn't have these thoughts until Y/n came around. Once she showed up, his brain decided to start thinking about her in those manners. He gripped her hips and stopped her movements. He panted out,
"I don't want to cum without you, My Love."
Y/n giggled and slipped off her panties as she spoke,
"You are sweet, Omi. This night is all about you. So, I'll lead you though the actual event as his is your first time."
Ominis face heated up and flushed into a bright red. Her hands tugged his boxers off. He shuttered as the cool air hit his heavy cock.
Y/n watched as precum beaded up on his tip and dribbled down his cock. She gently took it into her grasp. He gasped at the touch. She stroked him a couple times before positioning herself over his. She rubbed her dripping slit along his cock and teased his tip.
Ominis's body started to shake with anticipation. His hands gripped the sheets below him as he let out a shuddering breath. Y/n looked down at him,
"Ready, Ominis?"
The boy could only nod. His breath caught in his throat.
Y/n gentle lowered herself onto him. His cock stretched her perfectly. The (H/c) colored girl let out a moan and moved her hand to his chest after fulling taking him. Ominis groaned at the new sensation. She was hot, wet, and tight. His mind went blank as his hips subconsciously thrusted up into her. She took this as a sign to start moving.
She lifted herself up to his tip and came back down. Ominis groaned again with a whimper. He shut his eyes tightly as she started to move. He wasn't gonna last long. She felt to good.
Y/n closed her eyes as she chased her high. She leaned forward and kiss the pleasure bound male beneath her and whispered,
"I love you, Ominis."
Ominis's hands instantly moved to grip her waist. He desperately thrusted up into her chanting 'I'm gonna cum' over and over. Since Y/n hasn't done anything in a while so, she was close as well. She rested her forehead to his,
"I'm close. Cum with me, please."
The desperate tone in her voice pushed him over the edge. His grip moved to her bare hips and sheathed her fully on his cock as he came. His head threw back into the pillows and hers threw back into the air. Her hands gripped his forearms like a vice. As they came down from their high, their foreheads came together again. Ominis kissed her gingerly,
"I love you, Y/n. I want to be with you for as long as I am able. I have a gift for you."
He pulled a box from the nightstand drawer next to them. He held up the box gentle towards her,
"You know how my Aunt Nautica raised me until her passing. Well, she gave me this before she left. She said to give it to the person I want to spend the rest of my life with."
Ominis flipped the box open, revealing a diamond set in a white gold ring with a vintage vine design. Y/n gasped. He continued,
"This was her engagement ring that her muggle lover gave her before my family disowned her and... well... killed her love. With this ring, I want to ask you, Y/n L/n, will you marry me?"
Tears poured down Y/n's face as she accepted. Ominis slipped the ring onto her ring finger and kissed her. She held him close as they kissed. The ring fit perfectly. Ominis made sure that it would before revealing it.
The rest of the night was spent holding each other and exchanging 'I love you's' back and forth. Ominis felt his heart swell. He felt at piece for once. Everything was going to be alright in the end. No matter what he has Y/n and her family to support them. He finally found something he searched for in her.... home.
BONUS:
The family gathered in the living room. Presents stacked under the tree. Everyone looked around and made sure if everyone was here.
Alice looked around,
"Where's Y/n and Ominis?"
They then appeared in the doorway, hand in hand. Y/n smiled a bright smile at her family. Everyone could see the happiness radiating off of them. Before anyone could ask, Y/n cleared her throat,
"I have an announcement to make about a new development. As a gift to everyone, Ominis and I would like to announce that.."
Y/n held out her left hand adored by her engagement ring and continued,
"We are engaged!"
Her mother instantly rushed to the duo and hugged them close with tears of happiness pouring down her face. The room buzzed with congratulations and cheers. Ominis smiled and felt Y/n look over at him. He knew he made the right choice. This is home and this is his new family now. He loved every minute of it.

Noctua...
Relationship: Ominis Gaunt & Noctua Gaunt
Summary: For his seventeenth birthday, Ominis receives a very unexpected present… A letter informing him that he has inherited his Aunt Noctua's house, and all the memories that go with it.
Word Count: ~2.5k
Author's Note: This one-shot was really important for me to write, so I really hope you'll like it!💚
Warnings: Remembrance of a lost one
Tumblr media
Dear Mister Gaunt,
In the name of the Wizengamot, it is with great regret that I remind you of Noctua Gaunt’s passing.
I am writing to you as the executor of your aunt's will to inform you that, before her passing, she appointed you as the fortunate and only heir to her Gringotts vault, and house in Manor Cape. Now that you are of legal age, these assets rightfully belong to you.
To proceed with the official transfer of the property and funds, I will wait for you in Headmaster’s Black office on Monday morning, so that we can discuss the details and the steps to follow.
Best regards,
Ernest Hawkworth
It was the umpteenth time Ominis was rereading the bloody letter with the help of his wand. He had never expected to receive such a poisoned gift on his seventeenth birthday. "'Fortunate heir'"... What a ridiculous thing to read. Who in the world would be happy to learn that a member of their family had died? Someone cruel surely... Or simply anyone other than him in the Gaunt family. Any income was good news for them, whatever the context.
Ominis sighed dejectedly, and tucked the letter away in the inside pocket of his jacket. It was Monday morning. He had better get to Headmaster Black's office.
Mechanically, his feet carried him towards the Gargoyle Corridor, and led him up the stairs. He barely had time to knock on the wooden door before it flew open.
“Ah! Mr. Gaunt!” An unfamiliar man hurried to shake his hand enthusiastically. “I’m Ernest Hawkworth. Thank you for coming.”
“Of course…” Ominis answered idly. “Mr. Black is not with you?”
“No, no. He simply guided me here and left, claiming he had more important things to do, which I have no doubt he does.” Hawkworth explained with a wide genuine smile that could be heard in his voice.
“Typical Black…” Ominis muttered under his breath unintelligibly.
“Pardon?”
“Nothing.” The Slytherin student quickly replied, before changing the subject. “How did you want to proceed to the transaction, Mr Hawkworth?”
“Well, to start with, I need to show you your aunt's house.” Hawkworth suddenly looked embarrassed. “If you see no objection to… taking m-my arm, I'll apparate us to Manor Cape.”
Ominis knew that this abrupt stuttering had nothing to do with anything other than the fact that he was a Gaunt, a highly reputed family considered to be royalty by the other Purebloods. Hawkworth was probably intimidated by the idea that he was about to touch one of the Slytherin heirs.
Ominis did not bother to reply, restraining himself from rolling his eyes. He simply placed his hand on the man's arm as lightly as possible.
A second and a loud crack later, Ominis found himself in the middle of a radically different scenery.
The first thing he noticed was the melodious trill of birdsong. With each chirp and whistle, he felt a sense of tranquillity wash over him, as if the birds were welcoming him to the only place he had ever called home.
He looked up at the sky, taking a moment to savour the gentle breeze of the countryside brushing against his skin with a soft, comforting touch. It carried with it the faint scent of grass and flowers, a fragrant perfume that filled his senses and invigorated his spirit. Ominis inhaled deeply, taking in the earthy aroma of the land, feeling a deep connection to the natural world around him.
With each step he takes, the man becomes more attuned to the beauty of his surroundings, the sights, sounds, and scents of the countryside enveloping him in a sense of wonder and awe. In this tranquil moment, which awakened all the memories of the moments spent in the house that had enchanted his childhood.
“Well, here we are!” Hawkworth announced eagerly. “There are just a couple of things left to sort out. Don't worry, it won't take much longer.”
“That's all right…” Ominis automatically replied in a dreamy tone.
“First of all, here's the key to your aunt's Gringotts vault... which is now yours. All the arrangements have already been made with the goblins on your behalf.”
“Thank you.” Ominis placed the golden key in his pocket, taking no notice of it.
“And finally, you just need to sign this paper to finalise the inheritance.”
Ominis took the quill that Hawkworth handed him, and signed at the bottom of the parchment. Admittedly, Ominis could not write because of his deficiency (yes, he considered his blindness as such, just like the rest of his family had always done). As a result, he had always used a Quick-Quotes Quill, or asked someone else to write for him. However, once he was older and more mature, Ominis learnt to write his own signature by himself.
“Congratulations, Mr. Gaunt! You are now officially the owner of this delightful residence.” Hawkworth grabbed his hand and shook it vigorously. He had found a brand-new sense of confidence, which even allowed him to pat Ominis on the shoulder. “May I take you back to the castle?”
“No, thank you. I'll stay here.” Ominis replied, taking a step back to put an end to this unwelcome contact.
He heard the man in front of him take in a sharp breath, “Very well, then. I won't keep you any longer. It was an honour to meet you, Mr. Gaunt.”
Ominis gently touched the stones of his aunt's house – which he still struggled to accept as now his own. Each stone, cold and ancient under his fingers, seemed to whisper anecdotes of the past, of days filled with laughter and the quiet hum of magic that once filled these rooms.
As he traced the rough texture, the ivy that climbed the walls reached out, tenderly tickling the back of his hand, as if nature itself was trying to comfort him, to bridge the gap between the loss he felt and the legacy he had inherited. It was a small, almost imperceptible connection, but in that moment, Ominis felt a little less alone, surrounded by the lingering presence of his aunt and the life she had cultivated in this magical place.
Hesitant to enter his childhood refuge, Ominis chose instead to wander towards the garden, finding solace in the idea of being closer to nature before confronting the memories housed within those stone walls. On his way, he caught a few wild branches in the face and heard twigs cracking under his feet, a testament to the many years spent without Noctua's care for her plants.
Despite the pitfalls, Ominis continued peacefully towards the lake. The smell of humidity and the soft murmur of the water's gentle eddies... seemed to call out to him, to urge him closer.
With a deep breath, he sat at the water's edge, slipping off his shoes and socks to touch the water, its icy caress sending a shiver up his spine. The cold sensation on his feet jolted a memory loose—a memory of a younger version of himself by this very lake, with his aunt by his side. At the time, he truly could not understand why his aunt had insisted on taking him to an unknown place, something that terrified him, given that he did not yet have his wand to guide him.
He had complained the whole way there, and upon touching the water, he had burst into tears, overwhelmed by the cold and a sudden fear of the unknown depths. His aunt had scooped him up, comforting him with her laughter and assurances that there was nothing to fear. He could still feel her breath against his ear when she whispered that she was right there with him, and that even though he could not see it, the world was too beautiful not to explore it.
Sitting there now, feet submerged in the chilly water, Ominis could not help but smile tenderly, because he now agreed with her. Even though his aunt was gone, her lessons and love continued to guide him, teaching him that it was okay to be scared and that there was strength in facing one's fears, just as he was doing now, one step at a time.
And just like that, his aunt’s words once again gave him the strength to face his current fear. He cast a drying spell on himself, put his shoes back on, and strolled back to the house. He stood still as he faced the front door, before taking a deep breath.
With a mixture of trepidation and curiosity, Ominis finally summoned the courage to open the door and cross the threshold. Stepping into the living room, he was immediately enveloped by a wave of nostalgia and melancholy. The room was a shrine to his aunt's life, filled with her belongings and memories that seemed to echo with her presence.
Ominis put his wand away in his pocket and moved forward, holding his hands out in front of him to avoid bumping into furniture, as he used to do when he was only a young child.
First, he came into contact with the worn armchair by the fireplace, where she would sit and read late into the night. watch him, while she lent him her wand and taught him the spell that allowed him to see the outline of the objects surrounding him (the one he still used to this day). It was the first time he had really discovered the world, and it was entirely thanks to her. It was she who had created the spell. Just for him.
And it certainly was not the only time that Ominis had felt such gratitude towards his aunt, for not far away there was a library full of books written in Braille. It was Noctua who had taught him to read in the same way as blind Muggles, because it was essential to her that her nephew should be able to acquire an education from a very young age.
As he moved through the room, Ominis ran his fingers over the familiar objects placed on the shelves. Only souvenirs that Noctua had brought back from her various expeditions to the four corners of the Earth, and which she took great pleasure in recounting to her nephew afterwards to lull him to sleep at night.
Every object held a story, a piece of his aunt's past that she had carefully preserved… but he knew that not everything was there. His aunt's research was missing.
He knew he would find it in her study, which happened to be the room Ominis dreaded the most, out of fear it would bring back too many memories and shatter his heart with grief all over again. Still, he climbed the stairs to go there, and a sense of unease settled in his chest. The weight of anticipation mingled with apprehension, each step a reminder of the memories waiting for him behind the door.
With a trembling hand, he pushed open the door and stepped inside, the air heavy with the scent of old books and dried herbs. The room felt frozen in time, untouched since his aunt's passing, a silent witness to her tireless pursuit of knowledge and understanding.
Instinctively, his hands reached out for her desk. To his greatest surprise, he felt parchment under his fingertips. With a mix of curiosity and trepidation, he reached out and picked it up, his heart pounding in his chest.
He unfolded what appeared to be a letter, and took out his wand, guiding its tip along the lines…
My dearest Ominis, my little boy,
If you are reading this letter, it’s unfortunately because my curiosity and my research into Salazar Slytherin have gotten the best of me. I have always been fascinated by the history of our ancestors, but I fear that this time, my enthusiasm for the past has led me a bit too far.
I am writing these words to you, my dear child, because it is important for me that you know why I have chosen you as my sole and only heir. You might still be young, but your soul carries a wisdom and a purity that I haven’t found in any other member of our family. While many have let themselves be corrupted by greed, pureblood supremacy, or the desire for power, you have always followed your heart, staying true to your moral values and that integrity that so defines you. It is for this reason, and this reason alone, that I know my belongings and my research, but also my hopes and dreams for a better future, could not be in better hands than yours.
I fondly remember all the moments we have shared. Your first steps into the world of magic, your eyes wide with wonder when you finally saw how the world was shaped. You were so wise, so shy, and yet already so determined to do what is right. Your tenacity, even when faced with the greatest challenges, has always impressed me. You were that little boy with a stubborn temperament, the one who refused to be walked over, all while maintaining a softness and kindness that made you so special in my eyes.
Today, as I write these lines, my heart is heavy at the thought of not being able to meet the handsome young man, wise, intelligent, and accomplished that you surely have become. I have no doubt that you have grown to become an exceptional person, upholding the values we have shared and that I have tried to teach you.
My last advice to you, my dear nephew, is to never lose sight of who you truly are. You are a Gaunt, and you have strong convictions and a heart of gold. So, yes, you are a Gaunt, but it does not necessarily have to be a fatality. Stay true to yourself and show the world that not all descendants of Slytherin need to be feared.
Take care of yourself, my child, and always remember that you have within you the strength and wisdom to change the world.
With all my love,
Your aunt who loves you the most.
Ominis's tears flowed uncontrollably, falling onto his hands. He put the letter down for fear of soaking it and destroying one of the only things he had left of his beloved aunt.
Despite his deep sorrow, Ominis was suddenly overcome by an unshakeable determination. He vowed to himself to carry on his aunt's legacy. Armed with her research and her unwavering belief in him, he knew that he could face whatever trials awaited him. He felt a deep sense of connection to her, as if she were still there, guiding him with her love and her wisdom through this new chapter of his life… even from above.
She was the one who had shown him the world... so he was going to give his heart and soul to making it a little more like she had dreamt.
“You can count on me, Aunt Noctua… I’ll do it for you. I’ll make you proud. I promise.”

That Dang Snake
Pairing: Hermione Granger
Summary: Hermione starts to get the attention of an unlikely Slytherin girl
Word Count: ~2.3k
A/N: Send in request
Tumblr media
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6
Hermione’s POV
It is finally Saturday, the day of the first date for Y/N and me. I am excited but nervous at the same time about this date. The entire week, Y/N and I have been talking in or between classes, and also we have been meeting in the library to study together. I can see why everyone says she is so kind, but something has been up over the past few days.
Everyone in Slytherin suddenly avoids her, even Draco, who is supposed to be childhood friends with Y/N. The only person in Slytherin who talks to Y/N is Greengrass, but every other house is fine with her. Even the tri-wizard students speak to her.
I was taken out of my thoughts by Harry waving his hand before me.
“You okay, Hermione? It looks like you are deep in thought, well more than usual,” Harry asks, concerned.
“Yeah, I am fine. Harry, Ron, Ginny, and I are eating breakfast this morning in the great hall. I was just thinking about a test next week,” I say, lying and continuing to eat my breakfast.
“Relax, Hermione, it is a Saturday, and you should enjoy it. Maybe even go on a date with me,” Ron asks, and I get an icky feeling. Talking with Y/N made me realize that my feeling for Ron was just platonic feelings that I thought were romantic. My feelings for Y/N are different, and I want to explore that with her.
“I actually have plans with Luna tonight, so I can’t go, sorry,” I lie to Ron, and Ginny looks at me side-eyed. She knows that I am going on a date tonight with Y/N, and I can see it on her face that she is trying not to laugh.
“Oh, that’s okay. Maybe another time, then?” Ron asks, and I sit there frozen, not knowing what to say. Ron was waiting for an answer, but I heard a loud bang. Everyone in the great hall turns around to look at the Slytherin table to see Y/N and Draco standing up, looking intensely at each other. Y/N has food all over her, which I am guessing Draco threw on her. It took everything in me not to run over to her side to ensure she was okay.
It looks like Y/N is thinking about hitting Draco because her hand is clenching and unclenching, but Greengrass comes up to Y/N and drags her out of the great hall. The place was silent for about 20 seconds then everything returned to normal. Everyone was discussing what was happening and betting on who would win in that fight.
I would have bet Y/N would kick Draco’s ass easily.
“What was that all about?” I ask the table and see Ron and Ginny looking at each other.
“What was that?! I question them. You guys know something, huh?” Harry looks around, like always confused about what is happening.
“Look, you have to keep this under wraps because we aren’t even supposed to know this information,” Ron says, looking around and leaning in to speak quietly.
“So Ginny and I were home for a bit to get something, and we overheard our parents talking. They were talking about how the Y/L/N’s kicked Y/N out of the family and left her with nothing,” Ron says quietly.
I sat there momentarily, trying to process what Ron said.
“Do you know why she got kicked out?” Harry asks, and Ron shrugs.
“My parents just said that the pureblood families are foul for kicking her out because they did. They left her with nothing, and now she is homeless,” Ron says, and my heart grows heavy.
Where is she going to live? How is she getting money? Where did the scars come from? Maybe I can get some answers tonight on the date. I finish eating breakfast and go back to the dorms. I finish up on homework and practice a few spells before getting ready to go out.
I went into my closet to pick out a cute outfit, but it was more complicated than expected. I pull out my whole wardrobe, and it still feels like I have nothing to wear. Usually, I wouldn’t try so hard to look good, but this is my first date with Y/N, and I want her to be amazed.
I hear the door opening and a loud gasp. I turn to see who it is, and it is Ginny.
“What in the world happened here? Were you doing a tornado spell or something” Ginny says and giggles while stepping over my clothes to stand beside me.
“No, I am just picking out an outfit for tonight, but I can’t find anything to wear,” I say, crossing my arms.
“Don’t worry, I am here to help you out, so go and shower while I pick out an outfit for you,” Ginny says, picking up my clothes off the floor.
“Thank you,” I say, running to the showers. I will say taking a shower really help me relax a bit. I come out to the room and see that Ginny has put away all my clothes and has an outfit picked out for me.
“Oh Ginny, this is perfect,” I say while looking at the bed to see a pair of jeans, a white undershirt, and a maroon sweater.
“I know!” Ginny says, smiling, and I give her a big hug. I quickly get changed and do my hair with the help of Ginny.
“You look so beautiful, Hermione! Y/N won’t be able to keep her hands off of you,” Ginny says, and I start to blush.
“Well, none of that will be happening on the first date,” I say and smile. I grab all my things and set off toward Hogsmeade. Once I am at Hogsmeade, I found a bench near the entrance so Y/N can see me when she first comes in.
Time passes by, and still no sign of Y/N anywhere. I look down at my watch and see she is 30 minutes late to the set meeting time.
“I guess she stood me up,” I say to myself, then sigh in defeat. I can feel the tears forming in my eyes, and I try to hold them back. I don’t want to break down crying in front of everyone here.
“Hermione! Wait! I’m coming,” I hear someone say in the distance. I look around to see who called out my name, and it is Y/N. Even from far away, I can see she is wearing a black turtle neck and chino pants with a brown trench coat. Damn, why does she have to look so sexy when I am mad at her right now.
Next thing I know, Y/N is in front of me, out of breath from the running she did coming down here. I didn’t make eye contact with her because I was mad that I had waited 30 minutes for her to come.
“Hermione, I am so sorry that I am late. Things got complicated and-” Y/N starts, but I cut her off.
“I don’t care you are still late, and I was looking forward to this-” I stop talking once I finally look Y/N in the eye, only to see she has a black eye and a cut lip.
“Who did this to you?!” I yell, then inspect her face. She flinches at first, then welcomes my hands.
“It doesn’t matter who did this to me. Just know this is why I am late, but I didn’t do it intentionally. All I want to do is go on this date with you. I hate that I am late, but I will make it up to you by buying whatever you want from Honeydukes,” Y/N says, then takes my hand that is inspecting her face and kisses it. I feel the blood rushing toward my cheeks.
“Okay, but I am not going just to drop this topic. We will come back to it later,” I say, and she salutes to me like a soldier.
“Yes, ma’am,” she says, and I laugh. She takes my hand, and we walk around Hogsmeade to talk about anything and everything. She kept her promise and let me get anything I wanted from Honeydukes. I didn’t get too much because I know she got kicked out of her family.  We end up at Madam Puddiffor’s Tea Shop to get a drink and talk.
“So what really happened to your face,” I say once we order our drinks and sit down. Y/N lets out a sigh and rubs her face.
“There was a misunderstanding with a few Slytherins, but I was able to handle it,” Y/N says and smiles.
“Is there something going on with you and the other Slytherins? I have noticed over the past week they have been ignoring you,” I ask, concerned.
“So you are watching my movements, Hermione. I am flatter,” Y/N says, smirking at me.
“I am serious, Y/N. Look, you know that I am new to this dating scene and never thought I would be into women, but it is different with you. I am always thinking about you in some type of way. Like if you are getting enough to eat, if you are getting what is going on in class, or if you really like me because I really like you,” I ramble on, then Y/N puts her hand on mine.
“Of course, I really like you, Hermione. You have no idea how long I have waited to ask you out. You are not like any other girl I know,” Y/N says, and I smile, blushing.
“Well, good because I really do like you, and I want to see where this goes, but we have to be honest with each other up front. That way, this can work between us,” I say and look at Y/N. I can see her brain going a mile a minute thinking of something.
“You are right, and we need to be honest with each other. I have been hiding something from you for years,” Y/N says and takes a deep breath. I look at her, confused, wondering what she could have been hiding from me for years!
“I have liked you ever since the first year. When I landed my eyes on you, I knew you were something special. I wanted to get to know you more but Draco told me that I couldn’t because you are a muggle-born, and purebloods couldn’t hang out with you. I knew that our parents thought that way, but I thought all the kids were like me and didn’t believe in blood status in that way. Well, there are the Weasley, but their parents taught them right. Anyway, I was told to stay away from you and just keep going with my life. I did that, but it was so hard to get you off my mind over the years. I would get so nervous around you that I wouldn’t even talk. I had to distract myself with over girls to stop thinking about you, but it didn’t work. I will always come back to you. So this year, I thought of the brilliant idea it was time to tell my parents that I am into girls and not just any girl, but Hermione Granger. They were furious, of course, because their pure bloodline would end with me. You can’t have a baby if you are with girls, and to make it worse, it is with a muggle-born. They said much more than that, but I summed it up for you. They beat me and threw me out with no money. Luckily I have my own money, but that’s why I have all those bruises all over my body, and this,” Y/N points to her face, “is the result of all the Slytherin purebloods giving me ‘betraying our kind’ beat-ups” Y/N says taking a deep breath like she just removed a ton of bricks off her back.
I just sat there silently for a minute to process all the information thrown at me. It is hard to wrap my head around that Y/N has had a crush on me since the first year. Then finally telling her parents that she likes girls and a muggle-born girl at that, she gets beat up and kicked out.
“Please say something,” Y/N says, getting my attention.
“I don’t know what to say right now. That was a lot that just at me right now,” I say.
“You wanted me to be honest,” Y/N says, laughing lightly to brighten the mood.
“Yes, yes, I did. So it seems we are on the same page and like each other. What next?” I ask, raising my eyebrows. Y/N looks over me and smirks.
“Well, we keep getting to know each other. That means I will have to take you out on dates, and then once we get comfortable, I will ask you to be my girlfriend. Then we will see after that, but I hope it ends with a happily ever after,” Y/N says, leaning forward.
“I think I like that I like the plan,” I say, smiling and leaning forward. We met in the middle to kiss each other, which was the most magical thing to happen. Her lips were so soft but still firm at the same time, and her lips fit perfectly into my lip. I could kiss her all day long without any problem. We put away from each other and just looked into each different eyes.
“Wow,” We both say at the same time.

Chamber of Secrets- an insight into intersecting identities.
I'm currently rereading the series, and while Philosopher's Stone introduces us to the magical world in general, Chamber of Secrets provides detailed insight into the hierarchy of the wizarding world and the intersectional identities within it.
For context: Intersectionality was first developed by Kimberle Crenshaw, a legal scholar and critical race theorist, to address the limitations of traditional feminist and anti-discrimination movements, which often focused on single dimensions of identity, such as gender or race, while overlooking the intersections of multiple identities.
Intersectional identities recognize that people have various social, cultural, and personal characteristics that collectively influence their experiences and social positioning.
Using the information the reader learns in Chamber of Secrets, I will outline how specific characteristics influence an individual's social positioning within wizarding society by examining each broad social category.
1.0 Squibs:  Magical competence as a baseline to acceptance within magical society
In chapter 8, the reader is first introduced to the concept of Squibs via Harry finding Filch’s Kwickspell letter on his desk.
The letter itself quickly establishes how Squibs are viewed within magical society:
“Feel out of step in the world of modern magic? Find yourself making excuses not to perform simple spells? Ever been taunted for your woeful wandwork? “
Terms such as “feel out of step” denote a strong sense of societal disadvantage. The final question about being “taunted for your woeful wandwork” shows how this disadvantage is viewed in wider society.
This sense of societal disdain is furthered by the testimonies at the end of the letter, with Madam Z. Nettles apparently saying that her potions were a “family joke” and Warlock D. J. Prod of Didsbury claiming that his “ [...] wife used to sneer at my feeble charms.”
Indeed, reading the letter makes Harry ask himself the following question:
“ Why on earth did Filch want a Kwikspell course? Did this mean he wasn’t a proper wizard?”
This idea of Filch not being seen as a ‘proper wizard’ is then further reinforced when we examine the position of Filch within Hogwarts.
In the scene leading to Harry reading the letter, Filch has been cleaning the school despite having a cold, both of which could be easily fixed with magic.
“It’s only a bit of mud to you, boy, but to me, it’s an extra hour scrubbing!” shouted Filch, a drip shivering unpleasantly at the end of his bulbous nose.”
Interestingly, in a previous scene, we see Ginny Weasley taking a Pepperup Potion for a cold, yet Filch is visibly ill and made to do manual labour.
This contempt towards squibs takes on a new layer when we examine the pureblood character’s attitude towards them. When Harry first tells Ron about Filch, Ron “stifles a snigger” before saying:
“Well — it’s not funny really — but as it’s Filch,” he said. “A Squib is someone who was born into a wizarding family but hasn’t got any magic powers.”
This quote demonstrates that Ron essentially regards the characteristic as a misfortune, and this is furthered by Neville Longbottom’s anxiety when the attacks begin ramping up:
“Neville Longbottom bought a large, evil-smelling green onion, a pointed purple crystal, and a rotting newt tail before the other Gryffindor boys pointed out that he was in no danger; he was a pureblood and, therefore, unlikely to be attacked.
“They went for Filch first,” Neville said, his round face fearful. “And everyone knows I’m almost a Squib.”
Neville’s behaviour provides an interesting insight into how being a pureblood doesn’t count unless you have magical power, and therefore, being a pureblood with the intersecting identity of being a squib nullifies all social power afforded by the label of pureblood. It is also interesting that Neville spends money in order to protect himself from attack(and I will get onto wealth later).
2.0 Muggleborns - Wealth does not buy social capital
This is the first book where the slur ‘mudblood’ is used and is the first (in depth) look at how muggleborns are treated within society.
The reader first learns about the myth of the chamber from Professor Binns, but Hermione says that the myth is also discussed within “Hogwarts a History.” Therefore, the muggleborns who read the book about the history of their school are aware of a myth about a monster who exists to rid the school of their presence (a myth that is reinforced by the slurs that are thrown at them). Additionally, the very real chamber being located under the foundations of the school, only further reinforces the idea that muggleborn students exist in a world that at its core is hostile to them.
Furthermore, the markers of social privilege from the muggle world does not provide any protection from the discrimination and we see this in the character of Justin Finch-Fletchley. In his introduction to Harry, he says:
“My name was down for Eton..”
For context, Eton is an elite British public school that has turned out countless politicians, royals and the majority of the people in power today. Thus, Justin being down for Eton is shorthand for the immense privilege he must come from within the muggle world.
However, this wealth and privilege do not save him from attack. Similarly, neither Penelope Clearwater’s status as a prefect nor Hermione's magical aptitude save them from being petrified.
Therefore, it can be concluded that the stigma and discrimination associated with being a muggleborn often detracts from or does not influence characteristics that would add to their social standing if they were purebloods.
3.0 Part humans and wizarding unease
In this book, house-elves are introduced as powerful magical beings who despite being fully sentient are enslaved to wizards, and in later books we learn about the ban on Goblins carrying wands (despite, or more likely because of, them running the wizarding banking system). Both house elf enslavement and the treatment of Goblins allude to deep unease felt by wizards towards sentient beings with magical power.
Furthermore, the reader gets a glimpse into the treatment of part-humans through the story of Hagrid’s expulsion (although at this point we don’t know that he is half giant).
Indeed according to Tom Riddle, there was very little evidence for Hagrid’s expulsion:
“It was my word against Hagrid’s, Harry. Well, you can imagine how it looked to old Armando Dippet.”
And while it is clear that Tom Riddle leveraged his own charisma against Hagrid, even he expresses surprise at how well it worked:
“…. but I admit, even / was surprised how well the plan worked.”
Perhaps the plan worked so well, because consciously or subconsciously Dippet did not like seeing a half human with a wand?
And upon expulsion, Hagrid is given a manual job (much like Filch) and occupies a lesser position within the society. That he perhaps wouldn’t occupy if he were fully qualified (like Flitwick who is part Goblin).
4.0 Hierarchy amongst Purebloods
The top of the wizarding pecking order is undoubtedly the purebloods. However, amongst them there is an internal hierarchy which is determined by two key intersectional identities:
Being part of the sacred 28- This list represents a group of families who claim to have no Muggle or muggle born ancestry and these families consider themselves to be the "purest" of wizarding bloodlines. They are also often concerned about keeping muggleborns out of wizarding spaces.
Wealth
Although the Sacred 28, is not mentioned directly in this book, Lucius Malfoy uses its principles to assert his superiority over the pureblood Arthur Weasley:
“Obviously not,” Mr. Malfoy said. “Dear me, what’s the use of being a disgrace to the name of wizard if they don’t even pay you well for it?”
[...]
“We have a very different idea of what disgraces the name of wizard, Malfoy,” he said.
“Clearly,” said Mr. Malfoy, his pale eyes straying to Mr. and Mrs. Granger, who were watching apprehensively. “The company you keep, Weasley ... and I thought your family could sink no lower — ”
During this exchange, Malfoy slips Riddle’s diary into Ginny’s book, imposing his ‘Sacred 28’  onto a family that lacks the wealth to shield themselves from the consequences of the havoc about to be unleashed. And this is not something he does on a whim, as Dobby tells Harry about the plot to open the chamber weeks before this (although he doesn’t say it directly). It is a calculated move by Malfoy who understands the intersecting identities at play between himself and Arthur.
5.0 The case of Half-bloods
Ostensibly Half-bloods appear to occupy the middle ground between Muggleborns and Purebloods.
However, the identity of Half-blood does not have a slur attached and is often presented in the text as fairly value neutral when compared to the other blood status identifiers. And the key Half-blood characters seem to place on a spectrum depending on their other intersecting identities:
Dumbledore- is more on the Pureblood side of the spectrum as he has magical power (which from the discussion about Squibs can negate even Pureblood status) and potentially also has wealth (a marker of hierarchy even amongst Purebloods).
Harry- is similar to Dumbledore in that he has power and wealth. In addition to having the social status of being the wizarding world’s saviour.
Tom Riddle/Voldemort- uses his magical power to move towards  the Pureblood side of the spectrum and becomes a ruler to many sacred28 Purebloods.
Snape- Despite his lack of wealth, his magical power moves him towards the Pureblood end of the social spectrum. But the lack of wealth does impede him from being fully accepted.
In conclusion, the wizarding social hierarchy is not as clear cut as pureblood or muggleborn. Instead it is formed of several idiosyncratic, intersecting identities.

Chapter Eight ~ Academic Chess
Tumblr media
The first class of the day, according to her schedule, was Transfiguration; taught by the same professor who first greeted them the night before.
The morning had been a bit strange; where she was used to waking to the sound of seagulls and screaming, she was now awakened by the other girls in her dorm rummaging about to get ready. She’d never had to share a room before, and certainly not with so many people. Her roommates seemed nice… a little strange but who was she to judge? As she’d unpacked her bone collection and trinkets to place on her shelf, they’d unpacked magazines and scented candles, and given her funny looks as she placed her giant new journal on her desk. But so far they had yet to curse her name or scurry away in fear – in fact, they even introduced themselves. Saoirse Speck was the first to greet her, an Irish girl from Cork; she was a little odd herself, with absolutely no filter before she spoke and always seemed to have her head in the clouds. Another was Millicent Bullstrode, she had a round face and always seemed to be frowning just a little. Millicent looked the most nervous out of them to meet her, but shook her hand anyway. The third girl was Bridget Byrne, a pureblood from Windermere, a little rude but still more tolerable than some. They invited her to sit with them for breakfast, (Y/N) could see the reluctance but agreed nonetheless.
Finding their way to Transfiguration could have been easier – there was no map provided for students and there weren’t any signs about the castle – but eventually, after many stops to ask for directions, they made it in time.
The classroom was located on the east lower floor of the castle, just up a flight of stone stairs. It was a magnificent room, (Y/N) thought, every part of the great castle was. Stone arches decorated the walls, great windows curving up to the ceiling let in so much light that no candles even had to be lit, and the rows of wooden desks were all set for them to start. She was terribly excited – not that anyone could tell.
“Good morning, class.” Greeted the professor when everyone was seated. (Y/N) could have sworn she wasn’t there a moment ago. “Welcome to your first lesson of the year. For anyone who may not remember, I am Deputy Headmistress McGonnagal – head of Gryffindor house and your professor. I am glad to see you all on time.” She paused and looked at each face in the room. “Well, most of you. It seems we have a few missing students. But never mind for now.”
The professor moved to stand by her desk, gesturing to the chalkboard she had prepared in advance. “I trust by now that you’ve all had plenty enough time to revise your copies of A Beginner’s Guide to Transfiguration and are already informed of the contents of its first chapter, if you’ll all please open them up.”
Everyone did as she asked, and Saoirse sucked in a breath. (Y/N) looked to her side to see that her roommate had forgotten her textbook, and on the first day too. She rolled her eyes before placing her own copy between them in a silent signal to share, ignoring the grateful look the girl sent.
“Today we will be learning about the Transfiguration Alphabet, something I expect you all to be fluent in before the end of term...” The professor began her lecture as everyone started to take notes on the scrolls provided. As the chalk began to write on the board various symbols and their meanings, which they had to copy, the room soon fell into concentrated silence, and the next time (Y/N) looked up, there was no sign of the professor but a cat on her desk. But still, she busied herself with her notes:
Monday 2nd September, 1991
Class Rules:
No food or beverages in class
No silly behaviour
Be professional
Pay attention and ask questions
Note: there will be a 10 question quiz after each week.
Introduction to Transfiguration
Transfiguration is the most sciantific scientific branch of magic. It is the defined art of changing the form of an object or being into a different form. Forms: Transformation, Conjuration, Vanishing, and Untransformation. It is a very dangerous form of magic and easy to mess up. When you are working with the molecules of an object you are changing its basic princaple principles.
There is a strict and systematic approach to incantations and wand movements. Take care to be precise.
Transfiguration Alphabet:
A – O
B – θ
C –
(Y/N)’s notes were cut short as the great wooden door to the classroom burst open. The class turned as two boys in Gryffindor robes scurried in, panting. Ron whispered something to Harry that she couldn’t quite make out, then the cat jumped off the desk and suddenly revealed itself to be their professor. Oh that explains it, thought (Y/N), as if her teacher being a cat explained anything really.
When the boys finally found a desk to share, just behind (Y/N) and Saoirse, they let out a breath and hurried to take notes. (Y/N) turned, despite knowing she shouldn’t, to face them. “Don’t worry too much,” she said, though her face was unreadable her words were clearly meant for comfort, “you’re not that late. I can lend you my notes later if you like.”
The boys shared a glance. “No thanks,” said Ron, his eyes lingering on the Slytherin emblem on her robe, “we’re fine.”
(Y/N) frowned a little, studying their faces for a second, both looked a little unsure, but she turned back to the front of the room and brushed it off.
Tumblr media
When everyone arrived and settled into Potions, (Y/N) was surprised to find that their professor was not present. Wasn’t he supposed to greet them on entrance?
Whispers and gossiping travelled about the room; some were about her, most were about Harry. (Y/N) was never truly one for gossip – if someone had something to say they could say it to her face, ask her directly; and she felt the same as they took glances at Harry and he kept his head down, hair covering his scar. Supposedly no one had yet learned their manners.
Suddenly, the doors slammed open and the noise bounced off the stone walls, rattling the glass jars on the shelves, and in came a tall, dark-haired man dressed all in black. Briskly walking between the tables and to his desk at the forefront of the dark room. Anyone would think the classroom floor was his stage. “There will be no foolish wand-waving or silly incantations in this class.” He announced in a drab voice.
Ah, thought (Y/N), he just wanted to make a dramatic entrance.
“As such, I don’t expect many of you to appreciate the subtle science and exact art that is potion making. However, for those select few…” the professor glanced at the rude Malfoy boy from the previous day, “who possess the predisposition-” hang on, does he know that boy? Is he implying he’s already had lessons over the summer? That’s cheating. “-I can teach you to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses. I can tell you how to bottle fame, brew glory, and even put a stopper... in death.” Very dramatic, should she be taking notes on dramatic flare?
Before she could think about picking up her goose-feather quill, she heard the scratching of someone else’s to her right. Near the edge of the row beside her, Harry sat writing on his parchment, gaining Snape’s attention. “Then again, maybe some of you have come to Hogwarts in possession of abilities so formidable that you feel confident enough to not… pay attention.” The girl beside Harry gave him a quick nudge, making him look up in time to see the stoic professor make his way to him. “Mr. Potter. Our new… celebrity.” He mocked, which was really not very professional behaviour from a teacher. “Tell me, what would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?”
The girl beside him eagerly raised her hand, but Harry only shrugged and shrunk back in embarrassment.
The potions master took no notice, only taking the opportunity to humiliate the boy further. “You don’t know? Well, let’s try again. Where, Mr. Potter, would you look if I asked you to find me a bezoar?”
Harry gulped and shifted his eyes to the girl beside him. “I don’t know, sir.” He replied. Of course he didn’t, it was only their first day, after all.
“And what is the difference between monkshood and wolfsbane?” (Y/N) knew the answer to that one, it was easy, and so did the bushy-haired girl raising her hand, it seemed.
But poor Harry was struggling for an answer. “I don’t know, sir.”
Snape pursed his lips, a couple of students snickered at the humiliation; most just seemed uncomfortable or afraid. “Pity. Clearly fame isn’t everything… is it, Mr. Potter?”
What was his motive in all this silly bullying? (Y/N) couldn’t help but wonder. But the sight of Harry – the first person to chat with her on that train as if they were already friends, as if she were more than just a dark, mysterious rumour – sat there flushed and feeling small and… stupid even, she just couldn’t stand the injustice. Before she could even think twice about her actions, her mouth moved of its own accord. “To be fair to him, professor,” she interjected, drawing all eyes her way, “it is only our first day. We can’t all be expected to know our textbooks by heart.”
The man turned to her, standing tall and menacing with a glare that surely would have made any other student quiver in their seats – but (Y/N) Addams had seen far scarier sights than a greasy, middle-aged man who bullied children, and she was far braver than she looked. A family proverb echoed in her mind, one that had been drummed into her and her siblings for years: A sharp mind makes you the most dangerous in the room, a sharp knife makes you the most deadly.
An Addams speaks their mind. Always. And right now, her mind was saying that Professor Snape would be a worthy enemy if he wished it. She also had the potential to be one of his best students, if he allowed it. If Snape had a problem with that… well, hence the second part of the proverb.
“Miss Addams…” Snape drawled, taking slow steps towards her, as if he fancied himself a predator stalking prey. But an Addams was never prey. “I should have known you’d be trouble. If you’re so keen to interrupt Mr. Potter’s questioning, you’ll be more than capable of answering for him.”
He was challenging her, obviously, but even if she got some answers wrong, it wouldn’t stop her from accepting. She held her head high and met his stare with a seemingly innocent one of her own. “I might.”
Snape seemed all the more irritated. “Monkshood and wolfsbane--”
“Are the same plant, also known as aconite.” (Y/N) answered immediately, it was easy – she grew it herself in the family’s poison garden. “Named because it used to be made into a paste and dipped on arrowheads for wolf hunting, since its highly poisonous. Would you like me to tell you about some murder cases involving it?” Some of her favourite murders involved poisons, it would take her all day to recite them all.
Academic battles were much like chess, and (Y/N) just made her first move.
The professor gritted his teeth. “A bezoar can be found where?”
(Y/N) thought for a moment, knowing for sure it was in her copy of Magical Drafts and Potions. “I believe it can be found in the stomach of a goat, sir.”
The flash of both anger and impression on the professor’s face made this all the more fun. “And what, Miss Addams, would you get by combining powdered root of asphodel with an infusion of wormwood?”
(Y/N) didn’t know the exact answer, but she knew enough to show him up a little. “I don’t know, sir.” She said, waiting for the look of self-satisfaction to cross his face, and when it did, she interrupted any jab he wanted to throw. “But given that asphodel is part of the lily family and therefore poisonous, I’m going to assume it makes some sort of poison – which I wouldn’t know the name of because we aren’t meant to study those until later in our curriculum.”
She was correct, of course, which irritated him all the more. And lucky for her, Snape was head of Slytherin House; he wouldn’t take points away from her for being correct in his class, would he? “You are lucky, Miss Addams, that I am willing to overlook your cheek. The next time you have something to say... you will raise your hand.” He sneered, turning with a swish of his robes and returning to his desk, eyeing the class. “Well? Why aren’t you copying this down?”
Check-mate.

Lunch wasn’t much unlike dinner the night before; just as excitable, just as loud. The only difference being that (Y/N) was no longer sat alone. Though she now had company, she still felt a separation from the students around her. As Rumi once said: “even surrounded by people, like water and oil, he remains apart”. That was how she felt at Hogwarts; not quite fitting in, away from home and her norms. She couldn’t wait for the end of term and it was only her first day.
Moments later, a commotion began within the Great Hall. “The mail’s here!” She heard from across the room, seeing a few students stand as a great swarm of owls flew into the room… or in all technicality, a parliament of them.
Various parcels, letters, and papers were being dropped all around onto the tables, owls landing near their owners to accept treats or steal pieces of their dinners. “Are you expecting anything, (Y/N)?” Saoirse asked from beside her, opening up a letter and feeding her barn owl a piece of chicken. Was that cannibalism? Maybe…
“Well I’m sure my family have sent something--” She was interrupted by startled shrieks around her, all looking up to see another bird enter the Hall. It was easily twice the size of many of the owls swooping out of its way, a wingspan that sent a woosh of air as it passed, and in its long talons was a parcel with a letter attached. It dropped it in her lap before landing on the table with a graceful flap of its brown wings, head hung low to greet her. “Mortis.” She greeted, tearing up a piece of pork in exchange for its delivery.
“I-is that a vulture?” Bridget cried, eyes wide with fear as the bird in question began to tear apart a full roast chicken.
“Yes.” (Y/N) simply answered, ignoring the stares and chattering as she opened up her parcel. A small box wrapped in brown paper and black string, sealed on the top with the black wax of the family crest; inside was a black quill, a pot of red ink, some more parchment paper, a silver letter-opener sharp enough to perform an autopsy, and a box of matches. She just couldn’t wait to light something with them. The letter was in a charcoal grey envelope, the seal was a rich black, and the crest had been coloured in white – doubtlessly Wednesday’s touch, almost perfect. Taking out the new letter-opener, handle shaped like a dragon’s neck, its fierce head roaring at the end, she swiftly cut open the envelope and took out its contents. She knew from the second she opened the letter that Wednesday had written it; her father would have been writing every word that came into his unorganised mind, and her mother’s nails were far too pristine to stain.
Dear (Y/N),
We hope that your first days at Hogwarts have been interesting thus far. Father wishes to know which house you have been sorted into, obviously (you should know that there is a bet in place, and I sincerely hope you haven’t lost me my pocket money). Mother asks if you have made any friends or enemies yet. I, personally, should hope that you prioritise the latter.
You did pack a camera, didn’t you? We want to see what everything looks like. If not, please inform us in your reply and we will send one over. Mother and Father also want to know if you would like Thing to accompany you while you settle in.
We are very interested to know about your classes and professors, will you be learning how to turn anyone into toads soon? Pugsley has already broken our new guillotine and I think spending a few days as an amphibian would be a worthy punishment. But for now I have tied him up and put him in his closet with his mouth taped shut.
Pugsley and Father are going fishing tomorrow – they feel that they are in need of a distraction while they get used to your absence. I, however, hope you stay there as long as possible. In fact, next time you should take Pugsley with you and it might finally be quieter around here.
Grandmama wants to remind you to practice your knife throwing, as it would be “unbecoming” of you to be a sloppy thrower by the time you return.
We expect your reply to arrive soon. Make sure Mortis is well-fed before you send him back, or he might eat one of the carrier owls he is let loose near. Wouldn’t that be funny?
Awaiting your reply,
Your family.
She couldn’t wait to write back.

Thank you very much for your reply. I'll drop you my request 🤭
I was thinking of a story where Reader is a Slytherin and is part of Tom's circle of "friends" but she's the one person who's considered a bit less because of her personality so she is ...more sort of..reserved?
Tom gives them the task of researching his family and past (so all the Gaunt and Riddle thing) since he trusts her enough and she is one of the few purebloods who has an open mind and therefore wouldn't judge or use it against him.
And maybe at a meeting after the summer holidays at hogwarts or maybe a meeting at Malfoy Manor or whatever place you decide, you can also choose the year...The Death Eaters notice a change in her, Tom as well and he points it out to her when they are alone and she says something to him about something that happened when she went to the Muggle world for a while (she had several hooks up with a Muggle even though she knew it was wrong).
You can decide Tom's reaction 🥺 and I have a half idea how to continue it but I don't want to make this request so long and specific. I apologise. And thank you very much again. ❤️

𝑇𝑜𝑚 𝑅𝑖𝑑𝑑𝑙𝑒 𝑥 𝑅𝑒𝑎𝑑𝑒𝑟 𝐺𝑒𝑛𝑟𝑒: 𝑅𝑜𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒, 𝑆𝑒𝑥𝑢𝑎𝑙 𝑇𝑒𝑛𝑠𝑖𝑜𝑛
Y/L/N was a strange one.
One of the few that Tom couldn’t get a read on. As she stared up at you with her large eyes, unblinking, just staring, it was impossible to surmise what on earth was going on inside her head.
Even now as Lestrange, Black and Yaxley rustled, their arms around each other singing ‘Nous Noblesses Fières’, she trailed behind them closely, watching, her eyes paler in the sunlight streaming in from of a window.
“Stop gawking, Y/L/N,” Lestrange, who had noticed her usual eerie eyes, pushed her away, causing her to stumble into a few students walking past them.
Some of his knights had questioned why she even joined. She was the least of a pureblood fanatic of them all. Tom continued to watch her as she regained her composure, her textbooks close to her chest, and resumed walking beside them again. His theory was that justice mattered very little to her – to her, it was simply loyalty.
Blacks obeyed him.  Malfoys followed him.  Lestranges worshipped him.
Simply thus, Y/L/N chose him.
Yaxley once suggested that Y/L/N was just slow. That, when she turned those large eyes to the meeting, the class blackboard, to Tom, there was just nothing going on inside her brain.
Yaxley couldn’t have been more oblivious.
Tom never missed the intelligence that flashed in her large eyes every so often at the meetings. When she watched through her lashes with her doe eyes, she did not just watch. No, she observed, studied, collecting every subtle information available from her environment as the cogs turned busily in her brain.
In the silence of the meeting, Tom could almost hear her cogs turn. In the dim light of the Room of Requirement, her eyes gleamed: “I could do better. I know better.”
And still, her lips remained shut.
Tom decided to clear his throat, his knights immediately growing quiet. “Y/L/N,” he murmured, enjoying the sight of his knights that turned around with his single utterance of a word. Y/L/N included.
She was mildly shocked, Tom noticed her eyes slightly widen, if it was even possible to get any larger.
“Walk with me,” his lips curled into what he knew to be an inviting, benevolent smile.
“What?” Yaxley was perhaps even more shocked. “But Tom, we’re heading to lunch–”
But Yaxley was quickly interrupted by Tom’s cool voice, “Yes, I’m well aware, thank you, Yaxley.”
From the corner of his eyes, Tom watched Yaxley shrink smaller in between the shoulders of Lestrange and Black. Tom composed himself before flashing a smile down at Y/L/N once more.
“Transfiguration, was it?” he cocked a brow, offering his arm, “I’ll walk you.” He watched with great satisfaction at the shock that crossed her face, unaware that he had her schedule memorised.
She hesitated, her sharp eyes wavering in between Tom’s before landing on the three of his knights, still flabbergasted and taken by shock at the event that was unfolding in front of them. They all knew what this was. A private word with the Dark Lord himself. It was a praise, or a prestigious, private mission. Yaxley was barely standing upright, clinging onto his two friends as Y/L/N essentially got promoted before his eyes.
In the end, without a word, she placed her hand on his arm. An acceptance.
Tom smiled contently before swerving to his left. “Behave yourselves,” he raised a cautionary brow, leaving the three defeated shoulders.
Y/L/N was barely watching where she was headed as they navigated through the corridors, her eyes glued to the side of his face.  He bit down on his lips. And here he thought he was excellent at reading people. Her eyes revealed nothing, he noticed as he stole a glance from her. There was no infatuation, admiration, intrigue or curiosity. As if she were some sort of a soulless doll capable of perfectly mimicking human behaviour. It was not the kind of attention he was used to, and most comfortable with, if he had to admit.
“What are your thoughts on my knights, Y/L/N?” he decided to break the silence.
Tom thought he saw a slight crease appear in between her brows, momentarily before it disappeared. For once, her eyes left his features and trailed down his necktie in contemplation.
“They’re reckless.”
Her voice was breezy and composed, reminiscent of a ghost, almost translucent and serene.
Tom nodded contently at the astute observation she’s made. Chanting pureblood supremacy that loudly in midday was certainly not going to cast a positive light on any that associated with them.
“Why ask me?”
Tom cast a smirk down at her, knowing full well what she was asking. She tilted her head, inquiring, why was I chosen? Not Lestrange, not Malfoy, but me?
“Quiet people have the loudest minds,” Tom recited as if singing a tune. “Have you read Hawking? A muggle astrophysicist.”
Y/L/N’s brows furrowed, perhaps not even comprehending the word ‘astrophysicist’. She regretfully shook her head. “Sorry, no. I haven’t read many muggle authors.”
He hummed, having expected the answer. “Well, you will be learning about muggles, alright,” he murmured.
“You see, Y/L/N,” noting the confusion that was evident in her eyes, he glanced down at his watch and led her away from the crowd to a more secluded corner by the window, just by the stairs.
Ignoring her eyes that wearily watched the other students heading into Transfiguration class, he placed his palms on her arms.
“This is going to be a delicate mission,” he started, choosing the words carefully.
“The time has come for me to face my roots— essential to the direction of our future.”
His voice lowered to a whisper. “I need you to use this break to search about my father. His lineage, his whereabouts, everything.” He licked his lips briefly before continuing. “You can see how sensitive this information will be.”
Y/L/N pondered for a moment before nodding.
“I cannot leave this crucial task to those buffoons,” he cast a sideway glance to the direction they came from before his eyes trained on hers once more. “You would never disappoint me, Y/L/N, will you?”
Tom saw with satisfaction the surge of pride and determination in her narrowed eyes. She muttered, “I won’t, my Lord.”
He nodded contently and stood upright. “I will be looking out for your owl then,” he beamed at her as she walked off, disappearing into the Transfiguration classroom.
Yes, acknowledgement went far when it came to garnering your follower’s full dedication. Y/L/N will go far trying to prove herself better than any other followers. She was going to do anything within her power and connection to finish the job and succeed.
He sighed and turned on his heels, a proud smirk playing on his lips as he hummed the tune of Nous Noblesses Fières. The lonesome steps of his shoes echoing in the hallway as he congratulated himself on a job very well done.
-----
As he had expected, Y/L/N did not disappoint as an owl arrived a week before the spring semester began: a promise of what he had asked for in the claws of a barn owl.
Tom briskly walked towards the secluded section of the library, near the restricted section. His hands in his pockets, he sauntered through the shelves, peeking around the corners for any sign of Y/L/N.
Tom backtracked when he spotted her, sitting and gazing out the window at the rain droplets that were meandering down the panes.
“Y/L/N?” he called out to her.
Tom couldn’t help the slight shock that surfaced in his raise of brows as Y/L/N turned her head. She looked drastically different. Barely recognisable, as her large eyes, embellished with dark eyeliner turned towards him. A tint of garnet was smeared on her lips. Even now as he stood by her, flabbergasted, her eyes softened into a smile that he had never seen on her before.
“What happened to her?” “I don’t know her anymore.” The murmurs and whispers of his knights returned to him. The school has been buzzing since the beginning of the term. It made sense, the kind of reaction that she elicited in his knights, Tom thought. People rarely managed to surprise him, but this– it was enough to elicit an amused smirk out of him at the mere fact that she managed to do so.
He approached the desk, “You look…”
But, his voice soon trailed off at the sight that greeted him. As he rounded the table, Y/L/N’s uniform became more visible, revealing the skirt that came down to mid-thigh, much shorter than before. Her blouse, with the top buttons now unbuttoned, revealed her cleavage. Underneath the collars, Tom caught glimpses of a lacey black bra and a necklace, shaped like a robin taking flight.
He had been standing there for a while like a fool, a man outlandishly staring at the opening of her blouse before Y/L/N’s voice brought him out of his stupor.
There was a quiet “My Lord?” Tom had to shut his mouth close and tear his eyes away from her shirt’s opening.
He sat down across from her, trying to compose himself. He cleared his throat, “Right, your findings."
In her large eyes, he thought he saw a shimmer of amusement. Without breaking the gaze, she stood up to lean over the table. His heart began to hammer against his ribs at the sight of her cleavage mere inches from his face.
“Are you finding my blouse distracting, My Lord?” she murmured in a hushed whisper, a smirk ghosting her maroon lips.
“No, of course not,” he responded, perhaps too quickly, hoping desperately that Y/L/N was not as observant as he deemed.
The luck, however, did not seem to be on his side. “If you say so,” with a slight shrug that indicated she wasn’t buying it, she leaned further towards him. Tom couldn’t help but grip the arms of his chair as he watched Y/L/N crawl over the table towards him. Painstakingly slow, like a feline predator that was inching around its prey.
Tom swallowed hard, wanting desperately to look around them for any passerbys, who would have certainly had a full view at underneath her skirt. Yet, as much as he willed himself, his eyes continued to flicker between her challenging gaze and the curves of her hips.
Soon enough, Y/L/N reached him across the table which felt too short yet too long. She slid herself down the desk and towered over him, laying her palm against his chest. Underneath her hand, his heart hammered away loud and fast. He parted his lips to protest, but no sound came, like his voice was taken away.
She inched closer towards him, and one by one, mounted her legs on his seat. Straddling his thighs, she cast her eyes down at him. His eyes darted back and forth panicked, searching for any signs of life that may be coming towards them by happenstance.
“What are you–,” Tom breathed out, just to be cut short as Y/L/N began grinding against him.
“Your father is a muggle, named Tom Riddle sr.,” she started, speaking in that soft translucent voice. Puffs of her hot breaths reached his left ear and down his neck, sending a tingly sensation across his body. “Old money. Living with his grandparents in his manor,” she continued. There was something about a muggle village in Yorkshire. Something about an old Slytherin family in the area.
But for the life of Tom, he was barely staying focused enough to understand her words. His grip on the arm grew tighter, his knuckles turning white. He sighed deeply at her fingers that traced his cheekbones to his temple. His head dropped back against the chair, almost pleading to the heavens at her fingers that began running through his hair. He was just about keeping himself from returning the touch.
Y/L/N watched him underneath her through her lashes as his cheeks grew flustered. Her voice trailed off, leaving only the sound of his heavy breathing as his chest fell and rose. Tom did not dare close his eyes, watching her lips inch closer to his little by little, closing their gap. His grip loosened, and with his trembling hands, he slowly wrapped around Y/L/N’s waist. Her lips had never looked more enticing. Eager to devour them, Tom reached up to meet her lips, only for her to recoil at the last moment. Her heat had left him with a cool void.
Y/L/N giggled. She was clearly enjoying this.
“I’ll tell you the rest soon,” she whispered excitedly, her eyes giving off another shimmer. “Meet me in my room tonight.” Her fingers delicately brushed the strands of his chestnut hair out of his face.
It was as if the voicebox had suddenly been returned to him, unbound by the spell. “What happened, Y/L/N?” he managed to breathe out.
Y/L/N certainly was not expecting his kind of reaction. Her expression clouded, staring at his expression that grew sober by the second at her hesitation. “Nothing,” was all she said after recovering from the shock.
This time, it was his turn to tilt his head, seeing right through her lies. Her fingers stopped twirling with his hair, and for a moment the two sat in each other’s embrace, waiting for the other to say anything.
His brows furrowed as he tried to put the pieces together. The eyeliner, sure. The lipstick, dismissible. But, this 180 degrees of change was… alarming. If he remembered it correctly, there were only a few things that could explain it – many of them unfavourable and troublesome to the adjustment of the developing mind of their age.
His hesitation to stop this heated moment grew into a conviction at the sight of her biting her lips. There was something clearly wrong that she was afraid to admit. As the leader, he had to be aware of any life-changing problems that his knights were facing. Problems that could become a liability to the entire cause, even those of his most competent ones.
Intuiting that there was nothing more to be said or done, he patted her left thigh with a sigh. “Come to my room when you’re ready to talk,” he looked upright into her eyes.
Defeated, she slid off of him and stood up, quietly watching him pick up his satchel to leave. He gave a curt nod to her, and left the desk.
He was just about to round the corner of the shelf when she spoke up behind him.
“I hooked up.”
Tom slowly turned on his heels to face her, who was now refusing to meet his gaze. Her lips were pursed as if she had nothing more to say, staring out the corner of her eyes at the leg of the desk.
Her eyes flickered once to his to survey his reaction. “With muggles, for fun,” she murmured before growing silent once more.
Sexual liberation, then, he heaved a sigh. Things he had imagined were far worse. It was understandable, considering the repressive culture of the purebloods she grew up in.
He approached the girl that was still squirming, ready to be scolded. Without the sexual boldness that drove her to the ecstasy of bringing men to her knees, she looked far smaller. He thought he was able to see the remnants of Y/L/N that he knew from before.
His fingers delicately tilted her chin up. Fear swirled those large doe eyes as they looked up at him. Pleading. Begging to still entrust her as one of his most trusted knights.
“Come to my room tonight,” Tom murmured. His eyes flickered briefly to her lips, reminded by their close proximity of their heated exchange. “I’ll show you the real meaning of having fun.”
She allowed herself a sigh of relief, knowing that she was still in good standing.
Tom returned with a pat on her arm, his palm lingering. His eyes, however, gave a menacing glint one last time before leaving her with the words, “Don’t disappoint me, Y/L/N.”
A/N: So sorry this took so long! I hope you liked it :) Unlike my series dedicated to dom!Tom or sub!Tom, I wanted to try to balance both elements to illustrate the complex power dynamic between the reader and Tom. Sidenote: Apparently, most of the current British nobilities are descended from Norman-French origins (since the Duke William of Normandy defeated the Anglo-Saxon King in 1066). Which might also explain why the Black family's motto is French "Toujours Pur." So, decided to make their pureblood supremacist song French. Apologies if my French translation was inaccurate!

Jealous (Professor Longbottom x Fem!Reader)
Tumblr media
“Sorry? I didn’t quite catch what you said, Y/N/N.”
“I was jealous, Nev.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WHEN Y/N overhears a few seventh-year girls giggling about the oh-so handsome Professor Longbottom, she can’t help but feel jealous.
Warnings: Fem!Reader, Wife!Reader, Pureblood!Reader, mentions of blushing, fluff, jealousy, unedited writing, and that’s about it :)
I’m still kinda new to Tumblr, since I’m mostly on Wattpad (follow me on there @/sage-like-the-herb if you want to), so don’t judge this too harshly. Also, I felt bored when I wrote this, so the idea is pretty underdeveloped. Because I’m not as active here, don’t expect stuff like this too often 😂 I hope y’all like it, though!
(Edit: It’s sooo short…)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(Third-person POV)
Y/N was besides herself with excitement. After months of being away from her husband, she finally got an owl with a time and date to meet up. So, that’s how she found herself waiting outside his classroom.
As the bell rang, and students came out of the room in swarms, Y/N couldn’t help but feel a bit awkward.
“Aunt Y/N?” a voice asked suddenly.
Head snapping upward, she met the familiar eyes of Albus Potter. After being introduced to her as if she was family, the whole lot of Potter children had taken to calling her their aunt.
“Albus!” she exclaimed, hugging him. She felt relieved upon realizing that she was still tall in his eyes; he was about shoulder-level to her. “Merlin, you’ve grown! I haven’t seen you in a while.”
“Lily keeps talking about you,” Albus commented, breaking out of the embrace. “She wants to know when you and Uncle Neville will come by again.”
“Hopefully soon,” Y/N promised. “Now, run along to lunch, I want to drop by Nev’s office for a bit.”
“There are students inside,” Albus informed her. “A rather annoying lot of seventh-years. They just burst in during class! I’d wait out here for a bit, if I were you.”
“Well then, I suppose I’ll do just that.”
So, she waited.
Thankfully, she didn’t stand for too long. Moments later, a trio of girls came walking out of the room, giggling away madly.
“He’s so cute!” a blonde-haired girl squealed. (Admittedly, the girl reminded Y/N of a prepubescent Hannah Abbott, who had harbored a crush on Neville for years until he rejected her in favor of Ginny Weasley as his Yule Ball date.)
Jealousy slapped a bewildered Y/N across the face.
“Yeah!” the blonde girl’s friend agreed. “I don’t care if he’s married, I’d smash him, for sure.”
Y/N felt disgusted.
“Don’t steal my man,” the third girl joked. “I did the research; our Zodiac signs are compatible. Do wizards even believe in Zodiacs?”
“Whatever,” the blonde girl rolled her eyes. “He’s still eye candy.”
“Excuse me,” Y/N said loudly, unable to take this talk of her husband any louder. “Could you young ladies move, please?” When the girls only gave confused and slightly disgusted looks, she continued. “I’d like to see my husband.”
All three girls stopped mid-conversation.
The second-girl’s face paled. “Y-you’re Professor Longbottom’s w-wife?”
“We don’t mean any harm!” the third girl squeaked, eyes widening in fear. “We were only joking! Right, Jessica?” she nudged the girl beside her.
The blonde girl, Jessica, was at a loss of words. She opened her mouth, then closed it once more. “Sorry, Mrs. Longbottom,” she apologized immediately.
“It’s Mrs. Y/L/N, actually,” Y/N scowled. “Mrs. Longbottom is my mother-in-law. Now move,” filthy mudbloods. Thankfully, she didn’t let the last two words slip out her mouth.
Merlin, marrying a Longbottom sure smacked the pureblood supremacist out of Y/N.
However, Y/N didn’t feel the slightest bit ashamed of herself as she slammed her shoulder against Jessica’s on her way into Neville’s classroom.
Y/N twisted the door handle, and rather aggressively slammed the door open. “Nev?” she called out.
“Y/N/N!” Neville exclaimed, accidentally knocking an empty flower pot off his desk in excitement. “Whoops.” He muttered a quiet Reparo and fixed it, before setting the pot back on his desk.
He was quick to wrap his arms tightly around his wife. They stayed like that for a moment, breathing in the moment, before breaking apart.
“I missed you, Nev,” Y/N sighed, looking her husband in his warm honey-like eyes. She must’ve looked the slightest bit irritated from her encounter with the seventh-years, since he gazed at her in worry.
“What’s wrong, flower?” he asked, concern written on his now angular face (all the chubbiness of his youth had abandoned his post-pubescent figure).
Y/N stayed quiet, feeling too embarrassed to admit it. She could feel a flush creeping up her face.
“Y/N/N?”
Merlin, it sure felt weird to be jealous of bloody seventh-years.
“Iwaskindajealousofthosegirlsthatwereherebefore,” Y/N blurted out, hoping that Neville would drop the subject.
However, her sweet Nev, her sweet, caring Nev, could sense the situation gnawing at her insides, so he wrapped a comforting arm around her shoulders.
“Sorry? I didn’t quite catch what you said, Y/N/N.” Noticing Y/N’s awkward expression and clearly flustered face, he added a soft, “it’s okay, flower, you can tell me. I won’t judge.”
At this point, she wanted to cry. From embarrassment of her predicament, or pure adoration toward her loving husband, Y/N didn’t have a single clue.
“I was jealous, Nev.” Her face must’ve been a tomato by that point.
At his confused look, she elaborated her statement.
“These really pretty seventh-years were leaving your classroom, while talking about how good-looking you are, and I felt jealous. It’s just that— they were gorgeous!” Y/N ranted.
Neville blinked at her. Then, he burst into a fit of laughter. Well, what she assumed was laughter. Neville must’ve been holding back the full brink of his amusement for her sake, since his chuckles sounded rather like wheezes of desperation.
“You were jealous of those girls?” he laughed. “I don’t normally want to talk bad about my students, but they’re the worst group of people I’ve ever encountered. The ironic thing is, they were visiting my room to get some herbs for a Glamour Potion.”
At Y/N’s doubtful look, he spun her around to place both his hands on her shoulders.
“Y/N/N,” he said seriously. “Flower. You are the most beautiful woman I’ve ever laid my eyes on— sorry, Gran,” he joked. Y/N cracked a smile. “I’m so lucky to be married to someone as wonderful as you. You’re kind, loving, appreciative, considerate, and just about every quality that girls like them lack.”
“I—”
“Don’t compare yourself to them,” Neville warned. “Otherwise I’ll have to muster up all my Gryffindor courage just to come up with another motivational speech.” His so-called ‘Gryffindor’ courage must’ve been given a boost by Y/N’s growing smile, since he finished with a passionate “I love you. You. Not them.”
Y/N leaned forward just a bit to press her lips against her husbands.
“I love you too, Nev,” she murmured while kissing him.
The End.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not me ending the story in the most third grade-me way ever 💀💀 i haven’t ended a story with ‘the end,’ in a while, but I’ve never actually been motivated to finish my stories in a while, either. Anywho, thoughts on this?? The writing and plot aren’t too bad, right?
no bc you’re absolutely right about the wrongful foiling of Regulus! Book wise? Sirius to made himself larger than life. He was outwardly charming, bold, basically ‘affable’ in comparison to others in his family because he wasn’t well liked at home for his different ideas on pure blood status. Not only that he was socialized by other Gryffindors to BE proud of his different ideas, leaning into the informal self image rather than what House Black members (book wise) usually present themselves as. Sirius is the anomalous odd one like his Uncle Alphard. Regulus was perfectly in line and proper by his own family’s brief accounts until the Kreacher incident and that is all we’re afforded to truly confirm. Sorry about the rant but this plagues me too often sorry 😭
AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. okay. okay. first of all, thank you for talking to me about this, because i'm so glad i'm not the only one ://
now, on to real business :) this is going to a ridiculously long because i have feelings!!!! and it's 1) frustration 2) frustration and 3) frustration!
See, I think this mainly comes from three reasons: the need to spark contrast between the two, the general lack of canon knowledge in the fandom, and the sad attempt to squeeze regulus in what little space is left in the fandom as much of what is fanon, revolves around established headcanons for sirius (regulus' rise to popularity is very much a new thing. he had fans before but trust that it was nowhere near how it is today.)
the fourth secret thing, is the fandom's general tendency to cling to established fanon dynamics like a chastity cage on a particularly swollen dick. and this time, it's regulus being the runt of the black family.
on the matter of contrast
this is so silly to me, because isn't there already contrast between the two? Regulus being the favored child takes absolutely nothing from Sirius' canon charisma, intelligence, and popularity in school. and anon, YOU'RE SO RIGHT about Sirius trying extra hard to fit in at school out of a need to seek attention, approval, and praise because of how it's like at home. Plus the fact that this is done through loudly putting himself against his family. Sirius being the black sheep is such an integral part of what fuels his decisions, explaining the somewhat feral manner in which it manifests. almost crazed. why? because sirius is a hurt and traumatized teenager!!!!!! he has a developmental deficit (emotional and social) that he's still trying to fill, because their home was shit.
nowhere was it ever mentioned that regulus was so unliked by his family nor his slytherin peers because they saw him as lesser than. especially "lesser than sirius." in fact, the opposite was said.
a more accurate contrast between the two would've been about how regulus was a perfect student and how sirius was known for being a marauder. Regulus pulled people in the same way all Blacks do (coolly and with an existence that screams of an implied threat) alongside being the proud heir of an ancient house, while Sirius was making people pay attention to him through sheer spite and will to be heard after being ignored for so long. People would've been getting whiplash from the two, night and day. That regulus made following rules look like a calling, like being a lord to a house was something people were supposed to watch him do, and they fucking watched because they couldn't look away. While sirius could walk in a room full of people and you'd never know what he'd do, but you stay in your fucking seat because whatever it is, it's something you have to see -- you look around and everyone is doing the same thing. People would be holding their breaths for the black brothers but for entirely different reasons.
Regulus never would've made a point to be popular nor aim for the same kind of popularity. He was more probably a social icon for Slytherin, especially, since people were paying attention to the choices old, pureblooded families were making. Slytherin most, especially.
on the general lack of canon knowledge
yeah, at this point, no one wants to read the books anymore (that's genuinely the author's fault) and the movies are what most people know and can be bothered to know. not to mention the disdain for "canon".
there's also this stupid fucking take within the marauders fandom, that apparently everything is pure headcanon. but there's a difference between filling in a lot of the blanks that canon leaves and straight up denying anything ever existed for anyone to look up or research.
fact: there's appallingly little of what's written in the books regarding the marauders era characters. there are some, who were merely mentioned by name or seen in photographs.
bullshit: everything is headcanon. we know nothing about them and there's nothing to know about them.
fact: sirius was a popular student, while regulus was the favorite child of the family.
bullshit: sirius is all the good in their family, while regulus was born a loser and was from the start unwanted and unloved.
and it's funny how i've seen multiple blogs write about people trying to make regulus look cool, and it being an attempt to make, a "discount sirius". and this, apparently, is canon (kiss my dick the lot of you, kiss my phat phucking dick).
on established headcanons about sirius
yeah, i don't think people have been wanting to write about how sirius is in anyway inferior to regulus for much of this fandom's existence. he's a core four member. I mean -- M . W. P. P.
he's arguably the most popular character in the fandom, with his most well-known traits being beautiful, charismatic, and widely popular.
so how do you make sense of his home life? how could he NOT be wanted? how does one make this case, sirius friendly? well, you make him the TRUE favorite. make it so that his little brother? yeah, the nobody? was born as a spare.
sirius was the true favorite until he wasn't, and when he left, their parents were the most miserable human beings on earth for having lost the perfect heir, leaving them with a defunct child without a spine. Make it so that sirius was the ~son who got away~
sirius becomes the cool brother and regulus, the loser.
you have a fandom established dynamic between the two, where this just recently popular brother has to fit around the larger fandom headcanons surrounding sirius, where most are an attempt to smooth over the reality of his childhood. in the end, i think it became more important to make sirius as this better brother in all aspects compared to 'poor regulus' who never got an ounce of attention in his life.
i'm not saying that most people are doing this actively BUT, the headcanons that have stuck are largely due to the fact that the marauders fandom, in general, has had years to establish headcanons that work in sirius' favor (because regulus hasn't been as popular as he is now), and the general want of an overwhelming majority to have sirius simply be more than, compared to his brother.
this mixes so very well with a good number of people rioting about every single trait they think belongs solely to sirius, that must never be associated with regulus.
faced with a fandom that would rather off themselves than read the books... well, we're stuck with fanon tropes.
---------------------------------------------------------------
NOW, this isn't some tall order to make people stop writing what they want to write nor is it meant to be condescending for people who like this fanon dynamic.
this is just me saying that i abhor said dynamic. DYNAMIC, not sirius. (read it again, if you're feeling like a keyboard warrior). for people who actually like regulus, it's perfectly understandable and VALID to feel pissed when he's been delegated to this weak, wet tissue character in favor of sirius. like, it's okay to feel pissed when you see your fave's canon story be torn apart and pieced back together as a skewed embellishment for another character's sake, AND to have this be the general fandom attitude to a canon-averse community that will never really know what's fanon or not.
lastly, what this post is not: an attempt to put regulus over sirius, or say how he's the better character. i'm merely pointing out character inconsistencies. at no point did i say regulus good; sirius bad.
TLDR: i hate how regulus has been made out to be this loser brother, because it's not even true especially when there's so many ways to strike up a contrast between them, that doesn't result in completely ruining him for sirius' sake. (The only time i soldier on when this is the dynamic, is when the story is morgan's. That's it.)
