HOBBIES AND TALENTS

i cant rly keep dumping my feelings on my friends but i have such strong emotions all the time without any way to regulate them !!

i have no idea what to do at thiis point to be honest. been drinking a lot more but it doesnt really even cheer me up it just sorta staves off that little substance abusing impulse.

i really used to be so much better at moderating my feelings and being rational in response, i used to genuinely believe that things naturally will get better or that i understood the pattern of my emotions. but idk, i rly feel like im losing grip on reality and cant bring myself to believe that i will get to a place in life where it isnt such a struggle to do literally anything. i just find no pleasure in anything right now except w/ friends and im pushing them away bc of how much of a bummer i am 2 be around

ive had the onset of so many new symptoms within the past year or two and grown more self aware in general which is a fucked up combo because it just compounds all the bad feelings about myself i get everyday. i think i could probably get better.. i just feel like i’ve procrastinated for so long, ive dug myself and spiraled into a pit so deep i will never be able to get out by myself. and no one knows how to help me or what to do with me, not psychiatrists or therapists or friends or family, i am just a waste of energy after a certain point.. or more so a frustrating, fickle, ultimately lost cause that people hold out hope for, because what else can you do?

i am so fatigued, very physically ill and in chronic pain, so mentally hurt, i know how to help myself and what to do but i have been very low and i cannot bring myself to believe that there is a point to trying anymore. i dont even enjoy my hobbies anymore, even music is just kinda.. eh. i lack the energy to help myself and when no one else will help , and at best can only sort of tolerate my emotional volatility , it feels so much easier to just overdose and die instead

Hello! I hope you're doing well. I would like to have a mystic messenger matchup please! :)). I just got back into it omg and i feel relieved and pleasantly surprised there's still people talking about this omg tysm!!

I'm a heterosexual girl and at first glance, I'm extremely shy and quiet. I'm very well mannered and polite but that's only because I don't know you that well yet and I feel hesitant to open up due to extreme trust issues. I feel like I'm really intimidating since I don't smile a lot because of this and my friends often agree with that. Once I feel comfortable with you though, it's an entirely different story 😂

I become much more warm-hearted, dorky, bubbly, and animated-like. Tons of people have commented that I'm empathetic (one of my friends told me I should be a therapist because of this), understanding, authentic, genuine, appreciative, nonjudgmental, open-minded, trustworthy, great with advice and comfort, soft hearted, compassionate, gentle, child-like, independent (to a fault), and “looks like they could kill you but actually wouldn't hurt a fly because they're the cinnamon roll of the group".

Also, I can get a bit silly and teasing from time to time with my friends, but that's only in private or when I'm with them. I'm usually calm and laid-back and to quote some people here: "you just have the vibe where people are just comfortable to be who they are with you because you really don't mind their flaws" and "she really, really, has a strong moral compass among all of us here".

I can also work well under pressure, I tend to give my best when it comes to the things I enjoy, and can surprisingly handle attention very well (Even though I despise it with my entire being because I feel so uncomfortable with it and I feel kinda drained afterwards).

And just for fun to say here, I can be really oblivious when someone has romantic intentions with me, so I'd appreciate it if someone would just spell it out for me because once I do realize it, I would either just say yes or no to them, so I can be straightforward when I need to be.

For my hobbies and interests, I love to write. I really love to write and I can't explain it just a few sentences alone. From academic papers for school, journalistic articles for the student newspaper, or to just personal stories from my own imagination, I'm just really passionate about it.

That being said, I also love to read! I don't really mind which genre it is, just give me a good plot and I'm hooked!

Aside from that, I enjoy discussing philosophy, politics, films (for example, a certain plot point or a plot hole, the cinematography, the dialogue, etc.), Music (analysis of the lyrics, progression of the notes, etc.), History, culture, shows (doesn't matter what country it's from, just please give me a good plot 😂), fashion (its history, references that I could catch on to, the structure, and my own personal taste on it if I would like to wear it myself), psychology, languages (I speak 3-4 languages and often switch whenever I'm speaking to friends and relatives. But I also can point out the quirks and give an in-depth look into it if the person is interested in what we're talking about), debate, research, art (its history, the meaning, I could just go on since I love it so much and also bc I'm not that great of an artist to begin with 😂 but i do paint from time to time).

I love listening to classical music since that's the genre of music I grew up with, but I also old vintage music from the past too! And from time to time, I also like listening to Broadway, other songs from different countries, and I have a soft spot for Disney songs too! Speaking of which, my friends say I'm like a mix of Belle, Rapunzel, and Anna when it comes to the princesses and I agree 😂.

Also, I love my friends and believe that family are the people you choose to be with and you can't live without. So, all in all, I love my family (sksks but truthfully, my heart is big to hold a lot of people in it). I would do anything for them because they're the people I would do anything to protect and lend a helping hand no matter what the hour. So, I'm really supporting and a big cheerleader to those I'm close with 😂

Lastly, my love language is quality time and words of reassurance! If it helps, I'm also an INFJ and my Hogwarts house is Ravenclaw.

I think my middle name is from a distant great grandma or something and I absolutely despise it

2. When was the last time you cried?

Yesterday at the doctors I got super overwhelmed and couldn’t stop for some reason so that was really cool and sexy of me 🙃

3. Do you have kids?

not to sound like a bumper sticker but I like to think I’m pretty fluent

5. What’s the first thing you notice about people?

If their vibes are good or bad usually. Body language is also pretty important I think.

Both! I enjoy scary movies but not the type that’s just torture porn. Gotta have a little more than that for me. Do appreciate the art in a good gore scene though. and the world could always use more happy endings, because to quote the prince from The Last Unicorn “In real life there are no happy endings, because nothing ends.”

8. Any special talents?

I can flatten my hands on the floor without bending my knees, and I can fall asleep pretty much fucking anywhere (except cars or planes, bc that would make things too easy)

Digital art, watching movies, video games, collecting dolls. I don’t go outside.

I have 2 half Siamese cats that are brother and sister. they’re very cleverly named. Artemis is brown and tan chunk of a little man, whose only thoughts besides elevator music are about snugs and food. Luna is white and grey and her hobbies include sitting in the highest places she can get (or on me), hitting her brother, and screaming. 12. What sports do you play/have played?

I did gymnastics when I was a wee bun, but after that nothing. I don’t have an athletic bone in my body.

5’2”- Doctors told me for years I was 5’3” and a quarter (that’s what it says on my driver’s license) but apparently they were just humoring me or something idk

14. Favourite subject in school?

None! Fuck school. (Okay when I was in 11th grade I took Astronomy for a semester and that was pretty cool)

15. Dream job?

I want to go to school and get my degree in mortuary science so I can become a licensed mortician. I’m not sure when that will happen though, unfortunately, I’m not ready to do it yet.

Why is Japan obsessed with cartoons

Because their real life is bleak and boring (?)

IDK if you ever went to Japan and more specifically Tōkyo (I don't like to make cookie cutter statement bc japanese countryside -where I have been too- is a whole different story) but it's like..... pretty overwhelming if you're kind of a 'sensitive' person who feels more at peace in nature or peaceful/no crowded place. From all the places I've traveled to, Tōkyo was the only one I was glad leaving. It was too much~ lol

I did a bunch of awesome things (I went to museums, visited all parks of the city, seen all the famous districts, met my parasocial longtime crush at his secondhand shop in Harakuju... 👀 lmao). But what struck me was how how all fun things HAD to involve paying (almost all the parks have an entering fee....). Tōkyo is a GIGANTIC city so you pretty much have to use the subway quite often to visit and go to interesting places (that are all around the place). Beside parks and a few calm & charming place where you can settle down FOR FREE (like temples or the few free parks such as Hibiya park which is quite lovely) it's a very exhilarating city that can become overwhelming on the long run. You can hardly have fun if you don't pay for it - and Tōkyo is very pricey...... I guess all this anime culture is a convenient way to cope out of all this harsh life (I won't even talk about how working in a Japanese workplace is.... lol)

Stuff like Ghibli could only be imagined from a Japanese mind because it's the total opposite life of a japanese city life. Ghibli movies are like the ultimate dreamy childhood fantasy that can barely exist anymore in such place. Japan strong point is fantasy because their own reality is actually very far from it - it's a whole compensation thing.

It's important to notice how anime/manga is dominated by children or teenagers as well. Youthfulness is idolized in Japan. Because once you become an adult, you are expected to give up all your fun and start working, marrying, get children, behave like an adult, etc... It's important to note that Japan has a very compartimentallized way to handle life stages (they still uphold coming of age ceremonies, 成人の日 [seijin no hi = the day of adults], being the most important one). For example older adult resuming their education or married women with children wanting to keep working are frowned upon. It breeds a lot of frustration among young adults who fail to find balance between enjoying life without having to bear with society's pressure to get their life together (such as marrying and having children by the time they're 25 years old), AND becoming a full fledged member of society.

See how all the way Japanese culture shines in the West is through its youth culture (Harajuku, Jpop, video game, kawaii schoolgirls, anime/manga). Sure there is enka, samurai and temples but we all know that's not what weeb enjoy the most about japanese culture right?

Escapism is a way to cope out of reality. Balanced people with a fulfilling life don't resort to frenetically resort to binge watching shows as soon as they hit home (I'm personally appealed by the growing influence of Netflix, with people basically spending their whole free time behind screens, passively being brainwashed by stupid shows...). Such people rather entertain FRUITFUL hobbies such as hand made crafts, reading, sport, music, etc

Note how the quarantine witnessed a surge of media consumption (Animal Crossing). The Western ended up in a place analog to Japan in the sense that society has become so hostile for fulfilling social relationships (social medias, increase of remote work, social distancing, etc) they resort to entertainment to cope. They become obsessed with cartoons and create entire virtual space to escape from the reality of their sad existence.

oh jesus god have mercy LMFAO this will be SO LONG I mean COUGHS OKAY SO HEY GALS HEY PALS!! DO YOU ENJOY SOAP OPERAS?? Well, what about soap operas where most of the actors don't know how to act and also HAVE GUNS? Well, maybe gta5 rp is just for you! ((I genuinely started watching it bc it popped up in my twitch recs and I couldn't believe that it was an actual thing people were watching and instantly got sucked into it. It's.........so much fun. The characters are so good. The streamers are all so good. It's my cringe hobby and I love it SO MUCH.)) First things first: What is nopixel? Here's a beginners guide to nopixel if that's something you're interested in reading. There are plenty of other RP servers but I only watch people who play on that one bc IMO it's a much more fun experience when you're able to recognize people around the city and learn character dynamics etc. There's no big overarching story happening, so everything is up to the players. Some have bigger stories happening for their characters/gangs, and some just kinda go about their day and RP when RP is presented to them. Which is nice, because that allows you to watch plenty of streamers and still be able to understand what's happening lol. There's actually a wiki for the server and its characters, so if you're ever curious on what's going on or see the backstory for a character without having to watch through hours upon hours of old VODS, there may be some info on the wiki if you're lucky. (More popular streamers and characters get more content obviously.) And a reddit page for clips, which I like to scroll through sometimes if I want a TLDR of what's happened on the server that day lol. Who should you watch? There's honestly a streamer for everyone. The server is ALWAYS active because ...time zones. I've found a lot of people I watch through watching other streamers, or just scrolling through the gta5 category on twitch. Some people watch criminals only, some people will only watch cops, civilians, whatever. It takes some time to find who's right for you. You can find the link to every streamer on their character's wiki page! People take their characters and their stories very seriously, and spend a lot of time on them and on making content for the server. Examples: songs and music videos interviews interviews I'll just talk about some streamers I watch and link you their characters wiki pages + a clip for some VIBES. PENTA Randy Wrangler aka the most hated cop on the server lmao. Def not everyone's cup of tea. I think he's great. My favourite character on the server BY FAR. Mike Block who's....a gangsta, yo. He's great. He's a lot. Just watch the video bc that's the whole character lmao. BazzaGazza Barry Benson. He's a part of the Bondi boys & babes motor club. V chill, v enjoyable to watch. “C’mon, little brother. She’s been looking at you the whole night”. Will says palming his back, after catching him distracted for the third time.

“Go, before I do”. Frankie challenges him with a petty smile, knowing it’s going to be enough to force the boxer to take the step.

Taking a deep, deep breath, finding in that gesture the encouragement he needs, Benny goes straight to you, waiting for the bartender to serve you another beer.

At first, you don’t notice his presence, until the unknown guy stops by your side leaning too over the bar. You two cross your gazes, sharing a soft smile that makes your knees tremble. The blonde looks really good, but for some reason, you have the feeling that he could be an idiot, so when he throws at you one of those horrible pickup lines, you can’t help but roll your eyes.

“I’m gonna give you advice. Don’t hit a girl like that”. You just reply with a chuckle, referring to his words.

“I’m more into hitting men”.

For a second, where you were about to leave with your drink, you squint at him having a sip and trying to understand the meaning of his affirmation.

“I box, professionally”.

“Oh…” You nod your chin, puckering your lips, showing him that this fact doesn’t impress him at all. “Congrats. Good luck in your next fight”.

Not giving him the chance to continue the talk, you come back to your table under the attentive looks of your friends, who are laughing at the poor guy and the gesture on his face. His brothers, on the other hand, have slapped their faces whilst shaking their heads disappointed. As soon as Benny joins him, Santi slaps the back of his neck, causing him to choke in his beer.

“There must be something wrong with my eyes, ’cause I can’t take them off you? Really, Benny? Really?”

The guys are laughing when Pope repeats his sentence, as Will puts an arm over his shoulders. “You’re lucky to have me… Big brother to the rescue”.

Anna nudges you, making you turn on your stool to watch a second guy walking towards you, very secure of himself. The only thing you wanted tonight was to have fun with your friends and seems it’s not going to be an option. Crossing a leg over the other and nailing an elbow on the table, resting your chin on your palm, you force a smirk when he offers you a kind smile.

“Good nights, ladies, sorry to interrupt. William, a pleasure”.

The man holds your free hand without asking for it to stretch it. Firmly. Like only a soldier would do —as your father does. He turns for a second to his friends, laying his oceanic and hypnotic eyes on you with a charming and funny grimace on his face.

“Sorry ‘bout my brother, you know... too many punches”. He has captivated your friends, who are gasping for him and the honeyed tone he’s using, covered by a raspy voice. “He has watched you looking at him and he was nervous, but he’s not a bad guy. Just a little asshole. But he’s worth it, believe me”.

“Okay”. You reply slowly, raising an eyebrow earning your attention little by little.

“He has begged me to not come, but I think you’re too smart to not have a date with him”.

“Your brother was right, you didn’t have to come. And you’re wrong, more or less. I’m very smart, but having a date with him doesn’t seem a very intelligent idea”.

“Got it. But he’ll be waiting for you at seven in Kaleo’s, tomorrow night”. A negative it’s not an option to the soldier, showing you his perfect white teeth in a huge smile clapping his hands before leaving. “Good night, ladies. Have a good time”.

Since last night, you've been debating with your friends if you should go to the date just to prove both men were wrong. Lucy would call you crying if you text her in case the guy is another idiot.

The first test is to see if he'd wait for you, arriving thirty minutes later than the hour William told you. Your heart can't help but race a little when you find the blonde boxer sitting on the hood of a black Mustang, in front of the restaurant. Wearing a white t-shirt and black jeans, he has both legs crossed and his hands laced over his lap. Head bowed down and a sigh escaping his lips as he checks the clock on his wrist. Poor guy, he's thinking you are not going to come.

You send a picture of him to the chat group where your friends are asking you if he's still there and, in less than a second, you receive a bunch of heart emojis from all of them. Keeping your phone in a pocket, as you tuck in your hands too, you begin to walk towards him. Step by step. Taking your time with a soft smirk curving your lips as you come closer and closer. Watching him texting someone too, you roll your eyes, imagining it's to some random chick to hang out with, due you have stood him up. Until you're almost leaning above his shoulder and you see he's texting his brother —who is very interested in knowing if you're there or not. You melt as he replies: “amma wait another thirty minutes, maybe there's traffic”.

“You can say to your brother I'm here”. You whisper into his ear, taking him by surprise and causing the boxer to jump off from the hood.

“Oh, fuck. You scared the shit outta m— Where you readin' my phone?”

“Nah, I've some witch in me”. You lie terrible, feeling goosebumps on your arms when his gesture changes suddenly.

A grin like a Cheshire cat decorates his face, offering you his phone as he pressed the small microphone in the bottom right corner.

“Hey, big brother, I came. I hope you weren't wrong”.

“I'm Ben, by the way”. He introduces himself as keeping his phone in a pocket, to offer you his right hand.

“(Y/N)”. You stretch it then, feeling a little nervous at his touch.

“So, this is the plan. We have a beer, and if you think I'm a freak, you can run away before dinner. No questions, no explanations. You just… leave”.

God, that's really sweet. He's nervous too and you can see in his blue eyes how scared he is if you really decide to disappear.

“Deal”. You accept, tilting your head to the restaurant.

A couple of minutes later Ben is sitting in front of you and the first thing that captivates your attention is the fact that he doesn't put his phone on the table. Living in the technology era, everybody keeps an eye on their devices. Constantly. But he's not like everybody. He wants to talk. Know about you. What you do in your free time, what you do for a living, what unveils you at night… And you talk for hours.

Ben tells you what pushed him to be in the army, why he decided to dedicate his life to boxing and he also jokes about how you could fix him up after his fighting. Something like a plan of the future. Together. As friends —as he points out to not make you feel uncomfortable, thinking that he is forcing you to have a relationship. You also discover that your taste in music and movies are very similar, just like your hobbies. And that makes you think about the fact that William will tell you “I wasn't wrong”.

The boxer gladly takes you home, not stopping your chat even when one of the two of you doesn't know what to say, Benny has shown you in some way he enjoys too much the sound of your voice though —how it goes a little higher when you're excited about something, how your throat vibrates when you laugh. And he's falling in love with the disgusted tic that wrinkles your nose when you don't like something, in a funny gesture.

You would die for staying together a little more, but you have obligations to attend tomorrow and your friends haven't ceased sending your texts asking you how it's going. As Ben stops his car next to your house, you sigh not knowing what to do —if just say bye, thank you, ask for his number, kiss him? Yes, you'd like to kiss him right now, but what does it say about you? Should you wait until the second date?

“Got a fight tomorrow night if you're free”. His proposition pushes you back to reality, turning at him on your seat while resting a shoulder against it. “You can invite your friends, mine will be there”.

“Your brother too?” You ask giggling, noticing the change on his grimace to somewhat underwhelmed because of your interest.

“Yeah, he will come”. Ben mumbles pressing his lips after nodding briefly.

“Ugh… Is he the kind of person who has fun saying I told you?”

Ben's gesture suddenly changes again. The shine in his blue deep eyes reappears and you provoke him a strong laugh when you furrow your nose like he literally adores.

“You've had a good night then?”

“Yes”. You don't hesitate to respond, leaning towards him to press your lips on his cheek with a loud kiss.

“See? He told you”. Ben can't help but make fun of you, earning a soft punch to his shoulder that makes him laugh one more time. “It's in the Holou gym, at seven”.

“Okay, I'll not forget it”. You reply, taking your phone and setting an alarm an hour before starting to have time to get ready. “Good night, Ben”.

“Good night, (Y/N)”.

he likes giving more than receiving so expect LOTS of reassurance and random compliments

the room is quiet as you lay down in your bed while reading a book, the only sound filling the room being the faint music coming out of your phone and the laughter of your roomates from next door. you indulge yourself in the novel on your hands, concentrating on the vivid descriptions so you can maybe picture exactly what the writer was trying to convey, but a knock on your door interrupts your train of thought.

you ignore it, thinking it must be one of your friends doing some stupid prank again (aka denki and mina), but the person knocks a few more times, enough to annoy you, and so you end up standing up to open it. however, the frown on your face quickly goes away as soon as you see who’s the person who kept on insistently knocking. kirishima stands in front of you with a big smile on his face and you can’t help but copy his actions; just seeing him was enough to make your whole day perfect.

“hey, babe!” his tone is cheerful, as always, and he leans down to give you a kiss, one that ends up way too fast for your liking.

“hey, kiri. what are you doing here? weren’t you gonna hang out with bakugou and sero?” you close the door behind you once he enters. he sits down on your bed as if it was his own, stretching his arms out in the process and you lick your lips when his shirt rides up a bit, showing off his v-line and the outline of his abs. kirishima smirks when he notices your gaze, but doesn’t say anything about it.

“yeah, but sero is feeling sick and bakugou didn’t feel like going out so.” he shrugs, and you pout at him, feeling bad his friends basically ditched him.

“i’m sorry baby, i know how much you were looking forward to today.” you walk towards him and take a seat on his lap, your legs loosely wrapping themselves around his waist and his hands holding your hips steadily. he smiles at you one more time, completely ignoring the feeling of his heart hammering against his chest.

“it’s okay. besides, that just means i get to spend more time with you.” he says before kissing your neck softly, making you erupt in a fit of giggles as his lips tickled your sensitive skin. you wrap your hands around his neck and tilt your head to the side to give him more acces, biting down on your lower lip when he sucks on a certain spot. but before things can get too heated, kirishima pulls away and you whine at the loss of contact, which makes him chuckle.

for a few minutes neither of you say anything, simply enjoying each other. you rest your head on one of his shoulders while your hands play with his own, touching his fingers gently and kissing his knuckles from time to time. he smiles down at you, asking himself what the hell did he ever do to deserve someone as precious as you.

you’re so good to him; always making sure he’s eating well and that he isn’t overworking himself, helping him with homework whenever he doesn’t understand something, taking care of him when he gets sick, hyping him up when he starts a new hobby, and so much more. you do so much for him and sometimes he wonders if he’s doing enough for you, because he doesn’t ever want you to doubt his love for you.

with that though in mind he takes your face in his hands, forcing you to look at him while squeezing your cheeks slightly. you send him a questioning look, wondering what the hell is he doing, but he just kisses your forehead before speaking up.

“you’re so gorgeous.” the compliment takes you by surprise and your eyes widen slightly.

“where is this coming from?”

“well you are. and i love you so much.” you know kirishima likes to compliment you and let you know how he feels about you, but this time feels different.

“babe what are you-”

“thank you for taking care of me and loving me, for making my days better and for believing in me,” his thumb caresses your cheek and you instantly lean in to his touch, your eyes focused on his. “you mean everything to me and i genuinely don’t know what i’d do without you. so i promise to never leave your side, to love you until my last breath and possibly even after that.” your breath hitches in your throat when you notice how serious he is, not missing the passion that drips from his words.

you can feel tears forming in your eyes so you distract yourself by kissing kirishima roughly, pulling at the ends of his red hair and bringing your body impossibly close to his. he groans against your mouth when you press down on his lap, pulling away to give you a few more kisses before flipping you over so you’re laying under him. a smirk grazes your lips at the change of positions and before he can continue with whatever it is he wants to do, you kiss his cheek gently. kirishima blushes and looks away from you, but you just smile.

“i love you, eijirou.” the way his heart flutters when he hears his first name leaving your lips it’s actually embarrassing and he wastes no time before connecting your lips again and pouring all of his emotions into it.

if there was one thing both of you were 100% certain about was your love for each other, because you knew that no matter what happened, whether you broke up in the future or not, you would always consider him your soulmate.

-I have no idea if WL can even get drunk, so I’m going to say PK. He strikes me more as a disoriented/weepy drunk that’ll just keep progressively glowing brighter and brighter the more inebriated he is, which means there’s occasionally some moments where she has to drop a black cloth over him and bundle him up to sweep him away before someone gets blinded (or tries to drink whatever got him so fucked up in the first place, which would kill a mortal bug in like, 5 seconds)

-Tbh all this prompt did was remind me of the fact that in all my modern aus WL is a marijuana dealer as a side hobby whereas PK is a biochemist professor that’s super suspicious of cell phones in general, so I’m going to say that they’re tied with ‘knows how to do it but often doesn’t really use it other than to ask questions or tell each other when they’re going to go home’. Both of them prefer calling each other over texting (though PK 100% would do so when giving his students tests), but even then that pales in comparison to just. Talking directly to each other, so they don’t use it a lot

-WL. PK will listen to anything that won’t give him a headache, which is generally higher-quality music by default (or, well, more experienced), but WL listens to anything that she happens to like and could not give less of a damn if someone considered it odd. She’d sing Baby Shark if she knew about it because ‘it is quite a chipper tune, is it not? :)’

Who reads the most:

-PK! Mostly by necessity, but also bc WL struggles to read in general, even with the aid of glasses and the like (she’s simply more of a ‘learn by doing’ person imo). I like to headcanon that he’ll read things that they like to her aloud while she snuggles him close and re-attunes herself to the spread of her roots through the kingdom, so it’s a bonding exercise for them both

Who’s better with kids:

-Tbh both of them are shit with children, but WL is better mostly bc she, at least, is curious of the concept of motherhood and is fascinated with kids rather than put off by them, so she wins a point in that regard. Still, he’s the only one with legitimate childrearing instincts, so it’s a tossup between ‘WL is kind to children and tries her best because she enjoys it, but has no real idea of how to actually care for them, whereas PK has all the ‘Has the instinct to hunt and feed and protect the child but is filled with guilt, self-loathing, awkwardness in the face of a tiny person, and the general desire to be away from any screaming blob-thing that does not carry his genes’

-In my modern aus Lurien is usually an art teacher at the same university PK teaches at, so they’d def. text each other more out of necessity. Lurien is more comfortable with actually using the technology to send updates but PK’s the one who sends the dating invites, lmao. Still, what they send each other is usually just work-related with smatterings of courting thrown in, so if you cut that out then it’s really not any different than PK and WL

-PK, in this case. Lurien remembers some working-songs with bawdy lyrics from his college days that he’ll never try to sing unless he’s blackout drunk, but PK’ll listen to anything that won’t give him a migraine, so his tastes are a little less refined. Lurien most likely has dryly remarked upon this during at least one of their political outings

Who reads the most:

-They tie in this regard! Both of them are complete nerds that’ll happily spend weeks hidden away in a library without once glimpse of another bug if they could, and both of them are insomniacs that’ll happily relinquish sleep for knowledge. There’s a reason why they get along so well, lmao

Who’s better with kids:

-Both are honestly shit at it, but I’m going to say Lurien simply because he, at the very least, is not directly responsible for gratuitous infanticide

Who’s the one that fixes things around the house:

-Still PK, though Lurien’s handier around the house than one might expect. My headcanon for his homelife was that his parents had some kind of working job that ensured they were literally never around, so he’s pretty good with a lot of the technical repairs and repurposing. It’s just that PK actively seeks out that sort of thing to play around with it, whereas Lurien prefers to chart maps of glowworm distributions upon the ceiling of the City or paint over spending hours tinkering with engineering shit

Who’s got the weirdest hobby:

-Still PK. The weirdest hobby that Lurien has is staring out through the telescope while meditating in an attempt to trigger his futuresight (which is not nearly as potent as PK’s, he can only see up to 20 years in advance in short, segmented moments rather than the whole ever-changing tapestry of time), but PK’s the guy going down to the Void Sea to attempt to use it to animate soul vessels or murder a sun goddess so. PK’s still the weird one here

Who cooks and who cleans up:

-Lurien cooks, and PK is regulated to clean-up duty. Lurien, again, has years of experience from pretty much growing up alone, whereas PK (despite being a scientist who can p r o b a b l y follow a recipe) prefers his food raw and would much rather light shit on fire to understand how the molecules destablalize and how explosions work instead of actually getting any food prepared, so he’s stuck solidly in clean-up duty for a VERY good reason

Can we just talk about the ending of KawoShin open discuss. *sort of spoilerish*

I feel like I’m the only one who’s like reallly disappointed LMFAO--ya’ll there’s so much “canon” alternative universe and merchandise for Kawoshin in Evangelion that it kind of makes me upset to realise this couple just went down the drain. Yeah, I can see how people were like, “Kaworu’s toxic” or “Kaworu has a hero complex for Shinji” to which I say are valid points. But the toxic thing I feel like can also be applied to pretty much everyone around Shinji tbh, except for Rei. I did NOT, like Asuka at all but I really love her character though, and I felt for her a lot throughout the series.

I did not ship them either because honestly, Shinji and Asuka seemed better off playing the sibling dynamic instead of trying to play bf/gf which honestly is kind of forced by their living situation. Also since they’re in a similar disposition non existent father and dead mother, you’d imagine they would rely on each other for emotional comfort. Though Asuka—her personality I feel like she can’t differentiate between familial love and romantic love and the affection she wants is a bit of both. But, her character tries to be “mature”; she wants romantic love more and does this through sexual means and romantic gestures e.g. like kissing. One of my friends told me that you can’t stay friends as a boy and a girl cause eventually you catch feelings. Which I say is kinda dumb cause I have a lot of male friends, and I definitely don’t harbour those feelings, but I guess it’s a common phenomena.

I think this is what happens in this case, of Asuka and Shinji. Even after rejection of instrumentality they actually are depicted as childhood friends. But knowing how they both were before to each other, it was not good tbh. Also to mention the choking like thrice— bro if anything, this showcases a really abusive relationship and I think this outstretches the idea of their character tropes. Which I firmly stand by saying they’re superficial to each other. AsuShin were never really there for each other and are using each other in a forced situation. However, you can’t deny that they didn’t at some point catch feels, also Shinji is pretty consistent how he still cares about everyone around him. Which I really like how they add that to his character because it reminiscent of Yui, because you see a duality of both his parents personality in Shinji throughout the series—it’s a really nice touch. But bruh, if we gonna talk about that coma scene—I’m out LOL.

Thoughhhh, she is a true definition of best girl I really like her arc, fighting drive, and her skills as an Eva pilot 😭💗--but bruh she’s still a toxic and sometimes annoying tsundere trope, but still she’s 14 what can you do. So I feel like Kensuke and Asuka are actually a pretty good combo, cause he’s always been pretty mature even without parents. Also Asuka was into older guys, so I guess this is a win win?? Also Rei and Shinji, I honestly cannot get my head around it cause that’s pretty much his mom—so in a way that’s like either his half-sister or mom-ish clone?? Idk but Yui is definitely the donor LOL.

Kaworu and Shinji I felt like brought a bunch of things out of each other. I don’t know which timeline begins first, but I’d like to think the manga, the anime (plus its movies), and then to the rebuild series. Because I think that order is kind of pivotal to observing Kaworu’s character development from being a person who’s trying to understand human feelings to then the kinder person we see in the final series. You can tell how he’s changed and he knows Shinji a lot more as well as being considerate to him e.g. giving him personal space or letting him work at his own pace. Also that “we’ll meet again.” Is an obvious nod to how he’s done this before.

His literal story in every timeline is always romantic LOL, like bruh I can’t remember which game it was but basically a bad ending of Kawoshin route is that you reject Kaworu and he starts the third impact 🤡. Also I don’t know why but I started to see a weird dynamic between those two, in the manga their interactions reminded me of Asuka and Shinji—which Shinji is the tsundere Asuka here. I don’t know if this is relevant but the older character relative to the character they’re with seems to play off a mature vs a childish person trope. Asuka is younger than Shinji and Shinji is actually younger than Kaworu. Then again I could be overseeing this but istg manga Kaworu and Shinji mirror the whole Asushin dynamic. Like he’s seriously agressive against Kaworu, then after killing him he admits liking him. 🤡 I don’t know which is funnier no homo Shinji, homophobe shinji, or just closet Shinji who needs to realise sexuality is a spectrum so he could’ve idk—come out as bisexual, but whatever manga Shinji lol that timeline is over.

Anyways the development of these two is real and I think the rebuild timeline shows them at their best bringing their own personage out from each other like how they both enjoy music together--WHICH I’M SO SAD WE NEVER GET TO SEE THAT CELLO AGAIN. Then there’s those feelings of humanity, love, kindness, etc. Which yeah an angel could represent those things, but Kaworu is still his own person, self-aware of a cycle and if you think about how he initially was there to USE Shinji, but ultimately turned on that plan set by SEELE because he loved Shinji (and a bunch of other things like him showing Kaworu humanity). I also can see the argument, how “ideal” Kaworu is to Shinji, but he’s more self aware of the time he has before he KNOWS he’ll die and knows how to act for himself in that duration to make the most of it. All with Shinji. At some point, I think he fell in love with Shinji tho I don’t know where it began tbh—considering that all those alternate universes do exist. Kaworu does romantically love Shinji--so, in some universe they both reciprocate their feelings to each other.

In the last movie during that convo with Shinji. Like bREH it’s so emotionally moving because Kaworu remembers ALLLLL the timelines and how he’s been with Shinji and later Shinji himself recalls the events too. Where they show the scene from the manga and anime. Kaworu cries after being set free from the EVA cycle. Which, I definitely understood what he meant by him saying “it’ll be lonely” and how Shinji changed or that he’s actually different this time.

Either way, Shinji did right by him because it’s always Kaworu who has the purpose of “trying to save Shinji” but it always ends up the same. I thought that was really moving because Shinji tells Kaworu he’s gonna let him live a life for himself for once and he wants the same for everyone as well. Which was honestly so meaningful cause I think Kaworu’s character and like Rei too when they start to realise how to “live” like a person and not another puppet it’s truly liberating. Another thing I forgot, bruh Kaworu calls Gendo his father and ngl I feel like this is kind of a weird lore situation because I for sure don’t think he’s the donor. I think he calls him that as an insult because he knows Gendo’s whole doing and relative to Shinji—I kind of see it as a joke LOL. Like it’s equivalent to saying, “daddy chill”, or “hey look it’s daddy and his plans to end the world” also I kind of like to think of it as a father in law thing cause you know, Kawoshin *winks amirite*

The ending, I’m honestly hoping is just an open ending because it gives everything an actual start of their adult lives not being dictated by extraterrestrial forces. Though, I’m kind of wondering if the world doesn’t have EVAs does that still mean everyone else still has the same backstory, and do they remember? Maybe Mari really is just a coworker lmfao, and there’s still a chance for Kaworu and Shinji cause ngl, they did have a convo (presumably from the spoilers) about still remaining close afterwards and that stare at the ending seems very hopeful.

I call bs from Anno saying, “oh Shinji is based off him and Mari off of his wife”, like honestly any OCs made theres always some part of yourself made into that character. Which is probably why a lot of people relate to the characters in EVA because they’re based off real things (e.g. those war machines characters are named after and people around them). I think why Kaworu and Rei are together at the end, is bc they’re very much the same. They’re mass produced dolls—which oddly enough that’s the case for all the children except they don’t recall the loop. Kind of funny also how both Kaworu and Rei became farmers lmfao so ig it runs in the family (yes that’s right I like the idea that they’re siblings it was always noted that they’re like “the same”).

Another thing, i think why the rebuild really did well for Kawoshin and in my opinion canonised it—the convo with elder Ryoji Kaji (Misato’s baby daddy) that there was a time he felt incredibly lonely and depressed thinking Misato didn’t love him and so he started looking out for himself. So self love and found himself a hobby in farming which he suggests to Kaworu—basically saying he might feel like Shinji doesn’t love him but he’s gotta remember to take care of himself. if I go thru a breakup ill feel like it’s the end of the world but Kaji says y’a gotta self love broe and take care yo self gad dam fam 😭 💗.

Though, that look at the end from Shinji to Kaworu—I’d like to believe there is still hope that one day when they’re a bit stable in their adult lives, they’ll run into each other.
