I have to go to the hospital to visit a friend of mine who is transgender today. She attempted to take her life.A lot of people think it's easy being Transgender and to get to where I did which is fully female I can tell you it isn't easy to get here and many transgender people don't make it and get lost in the system and don't get to be their true self and that is sad. My friend is at Grey nuns hospital here in Edmonton I can tell u when I was early on in my transition and I was in grey nuns hospital for the same thing I was lost in the system and getting no help in my transition and decided that if I couldn't transition I didn't want to live. I was lucky I made it but many trans people don't I have been in grey nuns hospital I can tell u it's a shit hole. In the cell they put you in with a steel toilet and a bed that is basically a piece of plywood platform with a mattress thrown on top and a steel sink it's a jail cell. I have been there at this hospital and I sat alone in there with no one coming to visit me. That's why I am going to see my friend today and see how she's doing. I hope she gets out soon. It saddens me to see my transgender friends in the hospital because they attempted to end everything because of not being able to transition or because of family who turn their back people because of who they are. There are a lot of things that can happen. They need to make the transition process here in Alberta Canada easier for trans individuals. I can tell you that even once you get to where I am which is fully transitioned you still face discrimination I just got pushed out of my home by Boardwalk REIT LLP AKA Boardwalk Properties a major apartment rental here in Canada due to the symptoms of my disabilities and because of my gender identity being Transgender. So even once you get to where I am you still face discrimination on the basis of who u are. Boardwalk REIT LLP. O/A Boardwalk Rental Communities Boardwalk Properties

This is my review of Boardwalk after being at Imperial Towers for over 7 years now. I am done with them I am out of here shortly.

The management is just rude here the maintenance is done very poorly and done half way right most of the time and has to be done done multiple times. Cleanlieness well the building is kept pretty reasonably clean so I will give them that. Quietness it isn't quiet at all in this building it is a concreate building and I constantly hear my neighbours all the time you will hear every little thing. The heating is horrible in this building it is water heat and the boiler breaks down and the management leaves the tenants in the middle of the winter with no heat and no hot water with out any notice. The water systems in this bulding are poorly maintained in this building. Laundry well there are not enough laundry machines there is only one washer and one dryer per floor and the machines either don't dry your clothes a lot of the time or either the washer or dryer is broken down. Ya there is a small storage closet in suite not that big. Safety in this building is horrible found homeless people sleeping in the hallways or stairwells of the building before. Security is not promoted by the management doors are left open security is just all around horrible. The apartment in the summer is blazing hot expect to run 2 fans and you will increase your electricity bill which is payed by the tenant. Parking is horrible in the winter the management very rarely clears the snow from the parking lot. A lot of time the parking lot is a skating rink out there fallen at least 3 times and hurt myself pretty bad and the management doesn't care. The hot water is constantly being turned off here the water system in this building is poorly maintained. Also the management discriminates against people on the symptoms of their disabilities I had this happen to me. Also I am LGBTQ2S+ so if you have a disability or are LGBTQ2S+ then keep away from Boardwalk they are in no way friendly towards anyone with a disability or that is LGBTQ2S+ I lived here from Nov 1 2015 to March 1 2023 so over 7 years. Also there have been bed bug notices sent out multiple times in the years I have been here and It has been here it is a pretty regular occurance. I am out of there I have had enough of Boardwalk the only reason why I stayed this long is because I was placed there by CIVIDA and I could not leave. Do your research about Boardwalk before moving in any any Boardwalk building check out Reddit and other social media and you will see how bad this company really is! Do not let the ratings on Google fool you with the good reviews Boardwalk manipulates those and only posts what they want you to see. Do your reasearch before moving into any Boardwalk building. Boardwalk wants to have the reputation of being the nicest landlord around but they are not they are evil avoid Boardwalk at all costs!

Once again I have no hot water here at Imperial Towers. This is February 6 2023 right around 12 pm This seems to be an ongoing issue here and Boardwalk doesn't care. I have notified Boardwalk with no response yet from them. Getting temps right around 21 C it was 21.1 C (69.98 F) to be exact and I let the water run for 2 minutes before putting the theometer under the water I also did the same test with a digital temperature gun as well. Now minimum housing standards here in Alberta says the following https://open.alberta.ca/publications/minimum-housing-and-health-standards Section 9(a) of the minimum housing standards states the hot water should be between 46 C and 60 C for hot water. "(a) All hot running water shall be maintained at a temperature of not less than 46 degrees C (114 F), and not more than 60 degrees C (140F) measured at the plumbing fixture. " So the temperature is not even close to meeting the minimum housing standards. The landlord here is Boardwalk REIT LLP. I don't know any more my weight was 217.3 lbs Now today it's gone up 217.8 lbs how can it go up I ate less calories than I burned yesterday and my weight goes up . I ate 1261 calories yesterday and I walked over 17 km ( over 10 miles) I burned 1437.3 Kcal and my weight goes up. I was nearly in tears this morning. My weight goes up instead of down. I can't control my weight I work hard at trying to keep my weight down and it goes the other way. I can't control my weight. I need a dietician or something maybe I have to cut out more calories maybe cut it down 1000 Kcal a day. So I burn more calories than I ate and that isn't even considering my Basal metabolic rate either. With that I should be in a huge calorie deficit. I hate my body! I work my ass off to keep my weight down and instead it goes up. My dinner tonight while in the Hospital at the Royal Alexandra Hospital after my voice surgery January 27 2023 It was actually pretty good it was chicken and rice and a sauce over it. It was actually pretty good. The sauce has a bit of a kick to it too had some spice to it that's ok I like spicy! It says it is a Thai stir-fry. Trigger warning: surgery pictures Surgery was a success and I am resting comfortably in my room. I am doing well. Eating lots of ice chips right now it helps the throat. I am doing well and will be discharged tomorrow sometime. So Dr. Jeffrey took some pictures too and she gave them to me the first one of my vocal cords is before the procedure the 2nd is after see how she closed it off that raises the pitch she also tightened the muscles that controls the vocal cords. Well here we go again surgery day having throat surgery today January 27 2023 to fix the pitch of my voice. I am at the Royal Alexandra Hospital here in Edmonton I am scared to death right now laying here in this room alone waiting to go in. I am so happy probably the first time in my life I think that I am actually a normal weight. My BMI this morning was finally 24.8. https://www.cdc.gov/healthyweight/assessing/bmi/adult_bmi/english_bmi_calculator/bmi_calculator.html So at 6'5" and 209 lbs puts me at a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 24.8 this morning. At 210 lbs I am right on the limit of a normal BMI My last A1c done July 2022 was 5.4% which Is good. So my diabetes is well controlled though diet and exercise. My doctor is only doing the A1c once a year right now because it is controlled. That is why I am doing this is to make sure my diabetes doesn't come back.
