A full timeline of the RTVS Forewarned run in which Scorpy no-clips into the crypt and needs rescuing: Complete with timestamps for Wayne and Scorpy’s POVs.

Wayne’s POV [Orange, everyone’s in by 24:44] Scorpy’s POV [Blue, in at 43:40] Gir’s POV [Not timestamped, everyone’s in by 29:00]

Forewarning (haha) that this is VERY LONG! If you click keep reading you will be subject to quite a bit of text. Let me know if there are any edits I can make to this for accessibility! Notes and post-scripts may be added at a later date.

[No timestamp] > Scorpy is having connection issues, and cannot walk particularly fast as he’s stuck in a constant crouch position. Wayne suggests he try to fix his headset, but he is reluctant, and instead picks up a torch, a camera, and a medkit off of the supply table.

[38:04 | 56:30] > While attempting to fix his headset at the Tomb’s entrance, Scorpy no-clips into the wall and falls down a floor. None of his companions (Gir, Trog, Wayne) notice, as they are distracted by their iPads.

[57:06] > Scorpy resumes viewing the game, and in doing so clips even further down. He lands in a massive room with a ball of blue fire marking the entrance, and begins to explore, calling out for his friends.

[39:15] > Wayne realises Scorpy is missing and begins searching outside for him, chat informs Wayne that Scorpy has no-clipped through the map and is in the tomb. Trog steals Wayne’s boombox.

[1:00:25] > Chat tells Scorpy that he is being searched for, he walks into the blue fire and begins to explore the area he was teleported into.

[42:39] > Wayne picks up a sheet of paper and the Mejai appears for the first time. Trog begins to think that chat was fucking with Wayne, and Scorpy isn’t actually in the tomb.

[1:02:00] > Scorpy drops his torch in an area he can’t reach due to collision. He takes a picture of a skeleton.

[44:36 | 1:03:05] > Scorpy ventures into a puzzle room, but cannot solve the puzzle because it references cardinal directions, and he does not have a compass. He speaks to Wayne and Trog through a wall, and tells them he is “moving heads” (the puzzle requires you to rotate the heads of the Four sons of Horus)

[47:13 | 1:05:40] > Wayne continues to explore, and eventually hears Scorpy again, this conversation leads both parties to a gate, which Scorpy is trapped behind. Wayne runs off in an attempt to find the corresponding lever to open the gate.

[48:05] > Wayne runs wild in the tomb, repeatedly running into the Mejai (who he thinks is repeatedly putting out his torches) [Note: This is later proven to be false, as Dekan the Lost does not interfere with burning fires.] as he talks to chat. Wayne is very quickly rendered completely lost, and spends the majority of his time screaming and running around in circles as his torch burns out.

[No timestamp] > Trog and Gir lose Wayne, and assume he has died.

[1:09:20] > Scorpy attempts to reconnect with Trog and Gir as he can hear them discussing Wayne’s death, but is repeatedly scared away because of the Mejai outside of the gate.

[1:10:23] > Trog eventually tells Scorpy that Wayne isn’t dead, but they can’t find him. Scorpy hangs around the gate but still cannot make it all the way due to cobwebs blocking the path. Chat tells him that he needs the torch to burn the webs, so he makes his way back down to find it.

[52:33 | 1:11:03] > While downstairs, he speaks to Wayne through another wall. Wayne informs him that “shit’s bad, dude!” but there is nothing Scorpy can do as the lever still has not been found. The rest of the crew (Gir, Trog) are able to locate Wayne shortly after.

[1:12:40] > Scorpy continues downstairs, and manages to retrieve his torch. He burns away all of the cobwebs and waits by the gate.

[54:55 | 1:13:55] > The Mejai physically manifests, so Trog, Gir, and Wayne decide to regroup upstairs away from it. Scorpy speaks to the group through the ceiling, and informs them of his current situation.

[56:23] > Wayne and Gir decide to split off and attempt to search for the lever together.

[1:15:50] >The Mejai lurks outside of the gate, and while trying to figure out what to do, Scorpy drops his torch through the bars, out of reach. His attempts to retrieve it are all interrupted by the Mejai attempting to kill him through the gate. He takes a picture of himself, but only manages to capture the top of his helmet in the shot.

[1:17:23] > Scorpy decides he should spend his time attempting to figure out what Mejai they are being chased by, figuring he is safe from it on his side of the gate. Trog visits Scorpy and gives him his torch and the boombox, nearly getting killed twice in the process.

[1:21:25] > Trog speaks to Scorpy through a different wall, telling him that Wayne is nearly dead. Scorpy informs Trog that he is most likely “occupying the monster” in his gate. [Note: This is later proven to be true, as the boombox was attracting it to his location while preventing it from actually getting to him]

[1:22:50] > Scorpy continues his investigation, hopping back into the blue fire and exploring the area he originally no-clipped into.

[1:24:51] > Scorpy returns, and is once again visited by Trog, who confirms that Gir and Wayne are missing. Scorpy takes a picture of Trog, using his last piece of camera film.

[1:27:20] > Trog leaves and returns with “toys”, an iPad, geiger counter, and assumed “walkie talkie”, actually a spirit box device used to communicate with the ghost. None of these objects are ever used practically.

[1:11:04 | 1:29:30] > Wayne and Gir finally return. Scorpy warns them of the Mejai outside the door, and Wayne informs Scorpy that they have travelled for 30 minutes and still have not found the lever to get him out. Scorpy asks for a compass to complete the puzzle on his end of the door, in hopes that it may substitute for the lever.

[1:12:20 | 1:30:50] > Wayne gives Scorpy the compass and he leaves to do the puzzle. Meanwhile, Wayne tells the rest of the group that he thinks solving the endgame tomb puzzle may be the only way to get Scorpy out of the room. He suggests the group make a guess as to what the Mejai is based on what they’ve been experiencing so far and run with that.

[1:13:15 | 1:31:43] > Scorpy is instantly distracted by a second iPad, Wayne begins to make his guess.

[1:32:35] > Scorpy begins to solve his puzzle.

[1:15:25] > Wayne guesses that the Mejai is Necraph the Shadow, and is incorrect, so he makes his way to the afterlife. This incorrect guess locks the tomb door, leaving Gir upstairs and Scorpy and Trog trapped downstairs.

[1:16:00] > Wayne reincarnates as a hostile mummy, and trails Trog upstairs to scare him.

[1:34:40] > Scorpy, hearing that Wayne has died from chat, goes upstairs to get his torch as defence. While upstairs, the actual Mejai (Dekan the Lost) finally manifests inside of the wall because he is drawn to the boombox Scorpy is holding on his side of the gate. This spawn location unfortunately instantly kills Scorpy.

[1:17:11] > Trog kills Wayne and hides on top of the stairs, Gir and Trog recuperate. Following this point, Wayne is stuck spectating, and nobody can hear him. [Note: This happens at the exact same time that Scorpy is killed, leading Gir and Trog to believe that it was Scorpy who Trog killed instead.]

[No timestamp] > Trog tells Gir to go over to the car and end the level. For some reason, the car’s trunk will not close, and Gir notes that because he cannot die they are effectively softlocked.

[1:36:10] > Scorpy reincarnates as a live person, and respawns on the other side of the gate, albeit completely lost because he no longer has a torch.

[1:18:25 | 1:37:02] > Scorpy finally locates Gir and Trog. Trog and Scorpy decide to search for the lever so they can escape.

[No timestamp] > While attempting to find a way to quit the game, Gir discovers they have mapped out 97.9% of the crypt. He begins to trail them using the mapping device.

[1:24:15 | 1:42:44] > Trog finds the lever with Gir’s help, and in pulling it is almost instantly killed by Dekan the Lost. Gir shouts to Scorpy, who takes off running for the door. Because the tomb door is now open and all of their companions are dead, the car door is no longer bugged.

[1:24:50 | 1:43:19] > Scorpy grabs a scroll off of Trog’s dead body, himself and Gir escape the tomb together.

okay fine. they meet Lord Malrid in the first line of the next scene (big plot turning point) so time to stop for tonight. I don't have enough juice left in me to start tackling what is basically a new section. Actually, I think I should put a chapter break here. it's been more than 6000 words since the last one. This might be my longest chapter? idk

The majority of this chapter is just fluff, humour, and sexual tension. Adris and Sorin do a bit of plotting while they sit by the fire together but, with the exception of Adris quizzing Sorin on Firnen (her husband who she's never met), then actually getting to Ryeneth, and meeting that one city watchman very little plot happens in the whole 6000 words.

Still, I cannot bring myself to cut it yet. Maybe I won't need to in the end. I don't really think it is bloat: more like giving the plot some room to breathe.

so update for today:

Total word count is 43 450. Page count is 76. Percent is 54%.I have nine chapters written, I begin tomorrow on chapter 10. I have edited 8204 words since my last update earlier today (holy shit), and 8786 total since this morning (which means I apparently wrote just over 500 words last update, not 200).

It seems the muses were kind to me today. I shall have to give them an offering of thanks.

At this point in my first draft I was at 94 pages, 67 655 words in. That is a whopping 25 205 words more than draft 2 which means I cut a further 6000 or so this draft.

Oh my gosh, that means 7000 more words cut I will be exactly where I want to be for my word goal!! Hopefully I end up cutting a few thousand more words than that so I have room to fix the ending (which I was not happy with in draft 1) and have room in later drafts to pretty up the prose.

ahhhh this is very exciting!!!

What expansion/game/stuff pack is your favorite so far? im a sucker for sulani so island living for EP? although the mermaids deserved better, big cottage stan but wish goats and horses were on it so not on the podium & get together still has the best world; paranormal stuff pack by faaaaar, it was the least cash grabby SP ever i thought i was dreaming when they didnt call it a gamepack

what i’ve manifested successfully AND INSTANTLY within the past days or so

i want you to think of your reality, or your 3d, anything you're like, conscious in rn as play-doh. fun, malleable, able to mold into anything the creator wants.

you can do whatever the hell you want with the 3d. it's just that malleable. as the god of your fuckin reality, you can mold it into whatever tf u want. it's that easy.

and whenever the 3d shows u something u dont want, think of it like u make a mistake while making ur play-doh figure. maybe u added a lil lump somewhere, and u want to fix it. so u do. u dont just sit there and cry about how ur play-doh isnt changing shape when u aint doing shit. obviously, if u want ur lil play-doh figure to get better, u apply the changes u want. so in the end, u get the play-doh figure u want.

Just gonna drop this here...

it's a silly little powerpoint with some outfit images on the slides, sorted by date. not complete, dont come for my throat. working on it though!

Edit 23/09: Completed all shows up to today. Would love feedback on any potential mistakes.

second half!

fell dead asleep on the couch for like half an hour after lunch & still managed to make it to class on time so basically i'm winning

12:45 p.m. - English class

1:45 p.m. - edited the fourth section of the paper and started the fifth

3:00 p.m. - went to work

6:30 p.m. - finished editing the fifth section of the paper and toyed around with previous sections a bit

7:45 p.m. - Chaminade Flute Concertino - i've discovered that i can't do shit without the tone hole cover i lost on friday and i somehow don't have any extras even though i just bought a big bag so this turned out to be quite frustrating

8:15 p.m. - edited last section!!! (this took approximately three seconds it's a very short section) tomorrow i'll go back over the whole thing more quickly and also do some style stuff like formatting and fix up the appendices and write the abstract

8:16 p.m. - Doppler Andante & Rondo Op. 25 - working out some rhythmic stuff in the poco meno section of the Rondo

done for the day pretty much. might do some history content reviews later if the mood strikes me (it definetly won't even though i absolutely should) but that's about it

Watching S20 E33 “Bargaining” tonight, which I think might have Johnrik moments (though if it does they’re only in group scenes, I’m almost completely sure their next one-on-one interaction isn’t until S20 E36 “Keep Your Friends Close”... their last one-on-one interactions were in “Primum Non Nocere”, which was episodes 24 and 25. I’m not joking when I say John and Henrik were almost completely barred from interacting in the middle of the Gaskell story. ://) but I honestly can’t remember. (Same goes for S20 E34. I could’ve checked in advance to see if they have Johnrik scenes but I kind of like not knowing, because if either of them do it’ll be a pleasant surprise.)

Edit 1: Not the “previously on” being 99% Fletch and Jac scenes.

Edit 2: Rox obsessing over watching Jac. It’s Ollie all over again. Also, nice to see John actually prominent in an episode for the first time in a while.

Edit 3: Oh fuck it’s Fletch Senior again.

Edit 4: Rox: “I can’t just stand by and wait for this thing to kill [Jac]!” :(

Edit 5: Fletch Senior AND Jason The Caricature in the same scene. I hate it here.

Edit 6: Jason’s “quirky unintentional rudeness” (like telling Serena she has nothing better to do than look after Guinevere) is a lot better if you pretend he’s deliberately being sassy.

Edit 7: Sacha worrying about Jac :((

Pine Trail Run 50K - Race Wrap

This race happened over a week ago and it has taken me this long to sit down and get this out. Needless to say there is much happening and some days get away from me and writing takes a back seat. Part of the process but we keep moving forward. Sort of like this race 😊, see what I did there!! As always to start, BIG THANKS to the folks at the Pine Strawberry Fuel Reduction, Inc. for putting on the race, and all the volunteers, spectators, and other runners. It really was a great day and great location. All the money for the race goes right back into fixing, maintaining, and managing the trail system. The location was pretty epic as you can tell by the pictures, but they don’t really do it justice. The start/finish was at the Pine Trailhead in Pine, AZ. This is a small mountain town at the base of the Mogollon Rim about 15 miles northwest of Payson, AZ. We had been to Payson before but not yet to Pine over the years, so we were excited about spending some time in this new location. I say we because all 3 ladies in my life made the trek up and were at the finish line, the first time in a few years since that has happened so I was thrilled to see them. It wasn’t simple task considering the approximate 2 hour drive each way, but they made it up about an hour before finish which was fantastic.

A couple side notes throughout this story so please stick with me. I headed up Friday night and stayed in Payson. I wanted to get up there then, rather than getting up at 2am for the 5am pre-race meeting so I got a hotel in Payson and was able to get my registration all taken care of Friday night. I decided to grab some dinner in Pine prior to driving back down to Payson and stumbled upon this awesome wood fire pizza joint called Old Country Inn. The pizza was fantastic, bar tender was a sweetheart, and they had Church Music on tap! Sufficient to say I was fueled up and ready to go by the time I got back to the hotel 😊. The 330am alarm came fast but I still have yet to figure out getting any type of restful sleep the night before a race. Usually, I can grab 2-3 good hours but the rest of the time my mind is visualizing the race and thinking about when and where shit may not be ideal!

We had originally signed up for the race 2 years ago but with the onset of Covid it was canceled a couple weeks prior. They decided not to hold it last year as well, so the 2020 edition was the inaugural 50k. They’ve put on a 9 miler and 5k the last several years, but this was the 1st time for the 50k. You can read about the race details and Mogollon Rim in some the of the links embedded but essentially the course was this – the first 1/3 of the race we start gradually heading toward the face of the Rim and then after about 10 miles ascend approximately 2200’ in two miles battling a bunch of switchbacks as we get higher in altitude. We started at bout 5000’ elevation and at the top we were around 7500 or so and then back down. The second 1/3 of the race is running on the top of the Rim mostly on jeep trails and forest roads, before drastically dropping down in through Pine Canyon (incredible views) but not before another 1200’ climb, more gradual over about 2 miles about 4 miles out from the finish. This was arguably, the toughest 50k race I have done. The total climbing was just above 6,000 feet and the grade going up the face was about 30% or so but it was more of the downhills that crushed my knees and quads. Going into it, and I knew this, I didn’t invest the right amount of time going up and down in training. The volume was there but going out the last couple of weekends before the race and putting in those big vert days, were good, but maybe too little to late? I write that but then feel that we did get through it and finish, Sunday and Monday of this past week my body felt really good, except for a niggle behind my right knee so maybe I did enough but at about mile 25 I wasn’t feeling none too good 😊.

The race started with a bit of a climb out the gate and that was followed by smooth single-track trails and rolling little ups and downs. There were points when clearing the pine trees, we were facing east, and the views were breathtaking. Yeah, it may have been the toughest 50k I’ve experienced but it may also be said that it was one of the most beautiful sceneries too. This went on for a few miles and then we started climbing more intensely. I was running with this one real good dude, and we were chatting, and a younger couple; all clicking off miles together and enjoying the cool morning temps. We hit a downhill and I began moving ahead of the group as we were approaching the first aid station at mile 8.6. That mile marker game and when according to my watch but that is not uncommon, so I just continued to keep moving. This was the first time I began to notice I wasn’t feeling all the right. My stomach wasn’t as it usually is, and I felt a bit nauseous. Again, these are not uncommon but not this early in a race and usually not together. I acknowledged it and brushed it aside. I then hear my watch click off mile 10 and still no aid station so now with no water and my “not so fresh feeling” becoming more apparent I was hoping I would be getting close to that aid station. At that time, I heard some cheering and new I was close. As I ventured into the aid I grabbed some snacks, ginger ale, and refilled my water bottles and then I was off. After getting some food, salt, and the ginger ale I seemed to be feeling better but the fact that the aid station was 2 miles further than what had been outlined in the race info; that was sticking in my head a bit.

Those thoughts soon departed as we began our trek to aid station #2 at the top of the Rim. The two aids were only about 5.5 miles apart from one another but within those miles we were going to be climbing approximately 3500’ and there was 2200’ of it that I found out was just brutal. Leaving the aid station, it was mostly some short climbs, following but a flat, maybe a downhill or two, and then another climb with the climbs becoming more and more significant the further we went. As we got to what was essentially the bottom of the eastern face of the rim the reprieve of flats and slight downhills ended, and the true climb started. As it did, I was moving past another running who seemed to be feeling it and said, “man, tough climbing on this course, hope it lightens up soon.” Before I could stop myself, I said, “unfortunately I think we got much more to go, and it is going to get worse before it gets better.” This is where the couple dozen switchbacks began, and the climb got incredibly intense. In the race details on their website, I recall reading, “this climb may be the hardest climb you’ve experienced in an ultra-race.” Folks, this wasn’t not terribly far from the truth. There may have been one other, maybe two ascents that were more difficult and those two were in the Colorado Rockies!!! It felt that each turn, up another switchback, got steeper and steeper. As we got closer to the top, or what I thought was the top, I was passed by two dudes with trekking poles. They were moving quite well, and I remember thinking 1) these were very bright individuals and 2) I knew I should have done more vert training. That said, I did end up passing the one trekking pole dudes later in the race but for the life of me can’t remember, unless he veered off course!

Things began to level out and eventually we reached a forest service road and took a right. We were now about 1.5 from the second aid station and the timing was perfect because I was out of water and could use some salty snacks. My stomach was feeling better, and I wasn’t nauseous because now I was acknowledging the burn that was the fire in my quads from the climb. These are typical feelings during an ultra, like the weather in PA, if you don’t like it, just wait it will change. Well, in these races, if something doesn’t feel right, don’t worry, something else will take its place soon 😊. We, I say we but at this point it was just me running solo. Pole trekking dude #1 was long gone and those that I was with prior were still working their way up the Rim. I started coming upon this open field which was cool if you think about it. Open field on the top of this rim in AZ and about 500 yards to the right was the edge looking over land as far as the eye could see. This field was where the aid was supposed to be. Yep, supposed to be. I came up on two guys in a service vehicle and the one asked me for a bottle of water. “That would be great, thanks. Is this where the aid station is supposed to be.” The guy, likely knowing what we were all just battling and realizing there is no aid station here for relief, probably felt very bad said, “ahhh, they are late.” Me, “oh – okay then. Thanks for the water.” The next aid station was about 4.5 miles away, or at least I thought, and I had 16 ounces of water. We were on top of the rim, on a flat jeep road so I felt that it was a good time to just hike for a while. A couple of minutes later two pick ups come towards me, moving at a good rate considering where we were, came to an abrupt stop and the driver side door flung open and before I knew it this cowboy was filling my water bottle. These folks were the volunteers for the aid station and messages got crossed, I guess. Whatever the case, I chugged two bottles of water and filled another for the next few miles until the next aid station.

Now I was hiking, not running, trying to digest the situation. I was feeling better, hydrated, moving. I made a right turn and came upon a group of campers cheering me on. That was pretty cool. In the middle of nowhere, on top of this mountain, just getting the snot knocked out of me from that climb; I felt inspired, so I started running again. The road began to descend, and it was very smooth, and the miles were clicking off. I ran into what seemed to be a grassy camping area and there was a woman with a notepad asking for my bib number. “321 mam.” “Mike, right?” Yes, mam.” “Great, you are doing awesome. The aid station is about 1.5 up that way along the road. You are in 8th right now.” “Thank you very much and Happy Mother’s Day.” “Ahh – thank you. You got this.” I recall that exchange verbatim because it was weird where she was, and it was incredibly surprising that I was where I was. It felt to me that it was slow going and I had texted Robin that exact message a couple of hours ago. I was just about 20 miles in, and it seemed like this race was taking forever (thank you brutal climb up the Mogollan Rim 😉). After climbing through some barbed wire and running along “Highway” 87, I came upon aid station #3. I chugged more water and downed a can of ginger ale. Another runner was there, and we were talking, with his family too, about what we just did and what was left to do. Essentially everything we climbed, now we were about to go down, just on a different side of the Rim. I grabbed a bunch of snacks and began hiking out of the aid station. The other dude shoved off a minute earlier and we were both cheered on by other folks waiting for their runners to come in. Over the next few minutes, I hiked and downed my snacks of trail mix and fruit snacks. Laugh if you must but these treats got me to the finish line my friends.

Once I let the food digest a bit and the trail began to go slightly downhill, I picked up to a run again. This part of the trail was refreshing from the jeep road and flowed nicely, not too much of a decline, so the pace was really nice. I skated around some technical parts and after about 20 minutes or so came to the top of Pine Canyon Trail. This was the nasty downhill with many switchbacks, crazy technicality, and knee/quad busting fun began. What’s also nuts is that we were on the side of the rim and if we were to slip or catch a toe, it could be a long fall down 😊. Fortunately, all was right, and I took my time gradually getting into the canyon and much of the miles to the final aid station, which was about 3.5 miles from the finish and just water, were easy miles. Gradual downhill, pine covered trails so there was some shade, and I was feeling okay at this point. My knees were what was on my mind now because they had taken a beating on the downhill. I had been joined by the same dude I had been running with earlier and we had some good conversation about family, life, and running. Although the temps were not even at 80*, with no real cover now, the sun was getting hot and the trail dusty. At this point we came to the last aid and we both sat down for a minute. Filled our water bottles, gingerly stood up, and then we were on our way. Oddly enough, as we approached the trailhead leading back to the finish, about a mile, there was a table with a case of water. I stopped, thinking we had a couple more miles left, and doused myself with a bottle of water. My companion went on and seconds later I was moving too. Shortly thereafter, I can hear cow bells and cheers as he made his way to the finish line. Moving at a good pace now, meandering my way down the trail to the tent, a high five from one of the dads supporting his sons and others from some more spectators; I hear the voice of my youngest daughter, Alaina, “looking good dad, great work……try not to fall.” I giggled at that and fortunately didn’t fall.

All three of my girls were standing at the finish line and it was awesome to see them. We hung around a bit, sharing congrats with those I spent time on the trail with, then cleaned myself up.

We finished up the day in Pine, AZ with a visit to THAT Brewery, where I enjoyed some tasty IPA’s, an Elk Burger, and great conversations with my family. Reminiscing about the race and what might be next, my body a bit achy but my mind very clear and restful. We had a good two hours drive home, through some of the mountains you see in these pictures. It was a great Saturday. Our youngest, Alaina, driving now took the wheel as I sat shotgun on the way home. I enjoyed the green mountains driving back down to Phoenix, listening to my daughter sing her songs. Although the music of today’s youth isn’t ideal for me, it does sound pretty amazing coming from her. Thanks to Robin, Isabella, and Alaina for all their continued support as we do these wild and wacky adventures.

Happy April 25, the perfect date, not too hot, not too cold, and all you need is a light jacket!

My watchlist this week was kind of haphazard but here we go!

Kinnporsche ep 3: Passing away as we speak, I can’t believe they kept that shit locked away from my eyes for two (2) weeks, this is pure sadism on boc’s part. Overall I felt like the editing and pacing issues make it the weakest ep so far, but that ending scene made me forget all about that lol so it is what it is. I’m just hoping the choppy moments were a fluke and the rest of the eps don’t have that particular problem.

Star in My Mind ep 3: Cute af and Joong is very good at pining eyes, 10/10. This is turning into my “turn ur brain off” series where I can just enjoy some fluff and not have to think critically. I’m glad it’s only 8 eps though bc the story definitely isn’t thicc enough to sustain itself for a full-sized season.

Plus and Minus ep 1-3: Finally caught up on this and omg Y’ALL. I can’t believe this drama is flying so under the radar when it’s a) on Viki so easy access, b) bffs to lovers, and c) hot bartender x single dad side couple. This is gonna sound crazy but for anyone who’s still in Bad Buddy brainrot I really think this would be up your alley. Totally different setting (adult divorce attorneys vs college kids, and no interfamilial drama) but if the pining in Bad Buddy got you good, Fu Ligong and his constant projectile yearning for his oblivious bff is gonna tear you UP. Like look at him

Cutie Pie ep 9: Watched the first part which was cute and obv LianKuea are horny and in love, congrats to them on the sex and candlelit dinners and whateva. I just wasn’t really motivated to finish the ep bc I had a feeling I’d be fast forwarding a lot and wasn’t up for it. I’m kind of hanging onto this series purely for the domestic couple moments lol but tbh this series overall just isn’t grabbing me even with Zee, which ig is saying something. (Also have a strong feeling they’re gonna drag the YiDiao story into a season 2 in which case I will be throwing furniture.)

Secret Crush on You ep 11: NOPE. NOT DOING IT. NOT WATCHING. I saw one (1) gif of sad Daisy and noped right tf out of there. I’ll watch it once ep 12 is out so I don’t have to live a week of my life knowing Daisy is sad and not knowing how they’re gonna fix it.

In other news, Gentleman Jack s2 premieres tonight so everybody pls be cool about me going absolutely batshit insane and horny over Anne Lister for the next 8 weeks. ✌🏻

Titan’s Curse But Make It Time Loop: Nico di Angelo Edition

-Okay so I’m at work and not doing much and who wants to actually edit your shit drafts for your actual WIPs so that they’re less bad? No one, that’s who

-So I had an idea: The Titan’s Curse. Also known as the book where people start to die. It sucks to be a demigod in this book--for the first time in the original series, it really does.

-Not everything is fixed, not everyone is saved, and people start to have to make really tough decisions.

-So we fix it. Not by throwing Percy, or Annabeth, or Thalia, or, hell, even Bianca or Grover into the mix.

-Throwing the marginally more grown-up, more trained, and more knowledgeable demigods into the fire, who’d get everyone alive and safe by the third time ‘round? Nah.

-We’re making Nico fix this.

-Because here’s the thing about Nico di Angelo: Sure, he grows up to become a major badass, the Ghost King, so on and so forth. But not yet.

-For now, Nico is baby, a ten-year-old whose experience with any kind of fighting consists of one (1) Capture The Flag game and who’s still half-reliant on Mythomagic to explain what the fuck is happening.

-He’s also got the worst knowledge makeup possible! He knows he’s a son of Hades, which is bad, he knows to stick monsters with the pointy end of swords but nothing else, he knows that Percy Jackson and Thalia Grace are Very Big Deals (But also doesn’t know why beyond parents), and he’s, at best, vaguely aware that there’s some kind of bad prophecy hanging around.

-Also by the end of the book, he’s just been told his last immediate family who isn’t Hades is dead in one of the worst ways possible, and he--pretty irrationally IMO, but Nico’s a kid who has been through a lot recently, so we’re not holding that against him--blames Percy Jackson.

-Literally, you probably can’t pick an angstier or worse choice to run through the time travel trope. I love it.

-We’re making this kid save Bianca’s life via time loop, which happens due to. . .hmm, we’ll say the Fates did it.

-So, Loop 0 = Canon, only at the end of the day on December 21st, after the conversation with Percy, Nico falls asleep only gods know where only to wake up the day he meets Percy Jackson:

Loop 1:

-Nico doesn’t actually change anything meaningful at first.

-Spends most of it shellshocked and not unconvinced the last week (For him, anyway) wasn’t a horrible nightmare; shellshocked and staring at Percy Jackson, anyway.

-(Percy’s wondering what’s up with the silent kid his sister had talked up as a cheerful chatterbox)

-It’s only when Bianca agrees to join the quest for Artemis that he starts kicking up a fuss; demanding to go, screaming that she can’t leave him even more, not again.

-(Bianca hesitates; briefly, enough to remind Nico that she loves him. But she’s not their mother, and she needs this)

-Bianca still dies. Percy comes back pale and guilty. Nico doesn’t yell at him when he returns--he already knows. He accepts the Hades figurine so that he can throw it into the lake.

-He slinks off back into Cabin Eleven and falls asleep, hoping desperately that he gets a third chance.

Loop 2:

-He does.

Loop 3:

-After a very painful death at the hands of Dr. Thorn, Nico, generally being a straightforward person at this stage of life, takes the obvious path this time around: He tries to tell Bianca--who brushes it off as a dream.

-Annabeth still goes over the cliff when Nico takes the initiative of attaching himself and his sister to Percy Jackson and Thalia Grace at the dance. He tries to tell Percy and Thalia when Bianca still joins the Hunt, promising Nico that whatever he saw, she’ll be extra careful.

-(Bianca’s fearful of what Nico's saying, and thinks that if these sworn sisters can’t keep her safe, who can?)

-Artemis gives Nico a speculative look but agrees when he begs her to protect Bianca at all costs.

-He doesn’t get on the quest. Being a reasonable demigod of questionable parentage, he sneaks out of camp.

-He gets caught, because despite being aware of his awesome new powers, he doesn’t know how to use them, and is still a ten-year-old who can barely hold a sword the right way.

-He gives Percy the puppy dog eyes and shows off said awesome new powers. Percy forces him back.

-Nico follows him.

-Repeat until Percy dies saving Nico from the Nemean Lion in Washington, DC.

-Nico can’t find it in himself to be terribly sad--especially when he doesn’t make it much longer.

Loop 4:

-He’s really stuck like this, huh?

-Oh, Di Immortales.

-(Before Percy gets his chest ripped to shreds by a lion and Nico meets skeleton cats, he learned how to hold a sword properly and curse fluently in Greek. Percy probably only meant to teach him one of those things)

-In unrelated news: Having a big crush on a guy who thinks he’s only known you for a couple hours? Terrible.

-Trying to hate the guy who let your sister die when he’s that stupid and nice? Even worse.

-That stupid lion.

Loop 5, 6, 7, 8, 9:

-Nico repeats: That stupid lion.

-Somewhere in Loop 7 he starts to steal supplies out of the camp store when he follows Percy following the quest.

-They forcefeed the lion enough trail mix and frozen ice cream in Loop 9 that they don’t die this time.

-At least until someone called the General shows up and Nico’s dead before he can raise his sword.

Loop 10:

-Nico wakes up in his and Bianca’s room in Westover and starts crying. Bianca tells the headmaster they’re both sick and Nico lets her hold him all day.

-They fall asleep and Nico swears he won’t let her die again.

Loop 11, 12, 13:

-He wakes up and he still can’t get out of bed without feeling that blade cutting between his ribs, burning like it’s on fire.

-Gods, he’s so sorry, Bianca. Dispiace tanto.

Loop 14:

-He can get up without feeling like he’s about to die again. Bianca fusses but assumes it was just a bad dream.

-Nico is caught stealing and can’t follow Percy until it’s too late.

-Everyone assumes this means he’s a son of Hermes, however, and Nico can’t correct them without opening his mouth and letting the sobbing laughter out.

-Figuring he’s about to get another chance next round anyway, he takes Travis and Connor Stoll up on their offer to learn a thing or two so that he doesn’t get Cabin Eleven slapped with kitchen duty from now until Doomsday.

-He likes the Stolls. He spent most of the time, pre-looping, actively avoiding everyone at camp as he waited for Bianca and Percy to come back, but they’re not that bad.

-Percy comes back with the figurine and no sister and Nico remembers why he’s stuck.

Loop 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23:

-After Loop 12 and being killed in Washington DC again, Nico realizes: He needs to learn how to fight.

-Unless he gets killed early or refuses to leave Westover, the loop resets after seven days. So, he has seven days to train each time.

-He gets to camp, finds the arena, and meets Clarisse La Rue. He demands she teach him how to kill monsters.

-She laughs, and tells him that attitude in his size will make monsters easy to kill, they’ll laugh so hard.

-Clarisse teaches him how to swing a sword each time--but only after mocking his unamused face.

-Somehow, Percy coming back with news of Bianca’s death only hurts more each time.

Loop 24:

-Nico wakes up before Bianca this time. He looks over at her bed and knows. He’s got to try this time.

-It’s disturbingly easy making friends with Percy Jackson after the last loops.

-Bessie’s new. Cute, but new.

-Nico wonders just how much he’s missed in the past--he thinks of Annabeth Chase, and hopes she hasn’t been dying each time.

-Percy doesn’t even argue when Nico shows up in the stables with a bag slung over his shoulder, and the sword he’s been stealing out of the shed strapped to his hip.

-Nico suggests the ice cream--again--to Percy in DC before

-Nico might be getting the hang of this.

Loop 25:

-Nico is not getting the hang of this.

-Zoë Nightshade’s refusal to accept Percy and Nico on the quest--violating a prophecy, and gods, Nico’s curious if that prophecy ever mentioned this--has so far gotten them attacked and killed by spartoi once.

-And again. As Nico bleeds out on the floor, he watches a panicked blond man--a demigod--plead for mercy.

-Isn’t he on the other side?

Loop 26:

-His name is Luke Castellan and he apparently wants the gods dead.

-Nico can relate at this point.

-The General is Atlas, and Nico knows enough about Greek mythology, real and wrong, at this point to know that is bad.

Loop 27:

-Twenty-six tries, but they finally make it out of DC. Threatening the questers with Atlas killing them all is more than enough.

-For the first time, Nico doesn’t know what happens next. He glues himself to Bianca’s side and glares at anything suspicious.

-With help that Percy refuses to name, even when Nico tries his hardest, they go to New Mexico.

-There’s a boar and it’s so close, they make it to what the others are calling “the junkyard of the gods”.

-Nico sees the Hades figurine on the ground.

-Bianca grins in delight and picks it up, calling for him.

-He can’t help it.

-Nico starts screaming.

Loop 28:

-His sister’s murderer was never Percy Jackson.

-His sister’s murderer was a force of mechanics that makes Nico fully understand, for the first time, what the gods are, beyond stats on a card.

-Talos.

-Nico is going to destroy him.

Loop 29:

-She dies.

Loop 30:

-Again.

Loop 31:

-Again.

-Loop 32, 33, 34, 3536373839FortyFo r t y O n e--:

-Again. Again. Again. Again again againagainagainagainAGAIN--

Loop 42:

-Nico gets out of bed. He finds Percy Jackson at the dance, hugs him, and tells him he’s sorry.

-Nico walks outside and waits for Dr. Thorn in the snow. He can feel the shadows curling at the edge of the wood like a sixth sense, now. Waiting for him to summon the restless dead out of them.

-So many attempts to save his sister, ranging from sacrificing himself to sacrificing Percy--not that Percy needs the push, Nico has found--to any and all members of the quest.

-She dies. Always, always dies. Whatever Nico does, that junkyard is full of the death of Bianca di Angelo.

-He tried avoiding it. Once. Loop 33. Nico threw such a fit he’s surprised he wasn’t sent back to Camp Half-Blood by the Hunters, but it kept them out of the junkyard.

-He tries not to remember how little was left of his sister’s body by the monsters that time.

-Son of Hades. After all this time, Nico’s beginning to wonder if this is what it means. Death and death and death.

-Dr. Thorn walks outside, and Nico can feel a ghoulish grin crossing his face that has no place on a ten-year-old.

-One of them is going to die, this loop. And Nico will not go to New Mexico.

Loop 43:

-Nico wonders if there was a past life of his he needs to remember. Who could he have made this angry?

-He lies to Bianca and they stay in Westover again this time. Better than death, anyway.

Loop 44:

-Nico tries a different tack this time. A more roundabout way of things.

-He takes Bianca and throws the two of them in the way of the battle with the manticore.

-After all this time, he still doesn’t know much about Annabeth Chase. She gets kidnapped and returned safely to Percy every time, to the best of his knowledge.

-Nico dies holding up the sky, but at least Bianca lives, under the protection of Artemis.

Loop 45:

-Nico looks in the mirror and studies the new grey streak with fascination. And, maybe, some hope.

-Things can change.

Loop 46, 47, 48, 49, 50:

-Nico gets kidnapped a few times. Once, he’s killed in a rage by a Titan with horns, but it’s quick. Mostly, he holds up the sky to get Artemis out.

-She looks at him strangely each time and Nico wonders if she can see what he’s done.

Loop 51:

-They figure out he’s a son of Hades. They offer him Olympus. Olympus and Bessie--the Ophiotaurus, rather.

-Nico says no.

Loop 52:

-Nico says yes.

Loop 53:

-Being on the verge of overthrowing the gods and keeping everyone he’s grown to care for--in the case of several Hunters, against his will; in Percy Jackson’s case, Nico loves him as much as he hates him at this point--doesn’t do much, apparently.

-Nico stays in Westover again. He resists the urge to tell Bianca that would-be destroyers of Olympus don’t need to brush their hair, whatever she says.

Loop 54:

-Nico goes over the edge of the cliff again, but with Percy Jackson.

-This isn’t the first time; in Loop 46, Percy had taken the sky for both the sake of Artemis and Nico until it killed him.

-What’s different, is Nico’s in the middle of what’s become the usual panic attack when he’s about to die for the hundredth time, and his powers react.

-Percy holds him close and calls him cousin. Tells him he’ll never leave Nico.

-You have no idea, Nico whispers. You can’t leave me.

-You think I want to? Percy whispers back. You’re not alone, Nico.

-Nico’s sobbing sounds like laughter.

Loop 55:

-Nico tells Percy the truth for the third time. This is the first time he hasn’t told Bianca first.

-They’ve just found the Erymanthian Boar, Thalia’s told Nico his goth needs work--whatever that means--and Nico’s bracing himself for the junkyard again.

-Getting kidnapped by the Titans really gets old after a while.

-He still has the grey streak, and no number of excuses will fully soothe his sister, but the Hunt’s a good distraction from it.

-Nico doesn’t blame Bianca anymore for it. He thinks.

-Nearly a year into this loop and Nico’s finding it hard to blame anyone for much of anything, anymore. Especially when he sees what she’s faced. Again. And again.

-For now, this time, Percy Jackson is staring at Nico with wide eyes at what Nico’s told him--through these loops, Nico’s starting to wonder if he now knows more about Percy than Percy’s own best friends--and says he believes him.

-Once, Nico would’ve exploded from joy. Now, he just sighs and nods.

-Percy tells him how to condense the conversation for the next loop. He advises Nico to research Talos, “like Annabeth would.”

-He advises Nico to warn Percy’s next loop self about Annabeth’s kidnapping. Nico wonders if he’s gone insane that he’s considering it.

-Bianca dies.

Loop 56:

-Nico makes the executive decision this time to try and befriend Annabeth Chase. As such, he takes Percy’s advice.

Loop 57:

-It takes him two tries to befriend Annabeth Chase and learn about Talos.

Loop 58:

-Three times.

-But the nail. The nail in the ankle of Talos.

Loop 59:

-He hangs back at camp again this time and meets Charles Beckendorf, head of Cabin Nine, and son of Hephaestus.

-Nico figures that short of finding the god himself and committing temporary suicide--not that it hasn’t crossed Nico’s mind--his son will have to do.

-(He’s tried his hand at summoning ghosts, but Daedalus refuses to show, for some reason)

-Beckendorf frowns and tells Nico he would have to see Talos himself.

-Nico hadn’t realized just how much cursing he had picked up off of Percy and Thalia until that moment.

Loop 60:

-Nico knows what the prophecy says. One shall be lost in the land without rain.

-He knows it’s why he’s been failing so much.

-The trouble is, he no longer cares.

Loop 61:

-It took him a try, but he gets Beckendorf on the quest, prepared to defeat the Talos prototype.

Loop 62:

-Strike that, two tries.

-Nico really hates the Nemean Lion.

Loop 63, 64:

-Nico has solved half a problem: How to defeat Talos without putting someone inside the robot.

-The other half of the problem is now that they are all electrocuted by a dying automaton for their efforts.

Loop 65:

-Beckendorf’s crush--girlfriend? crush, they’re both insisting--Silena Beauregard comes along this time. Nico won’t complain over the extra manpower, even if he’s positive that eight campers and Hunters are patent overkill for one quest.

-Silena pulls Bianca out of the wreckage. Nico’s heart stops.

-Silena’s crying when she mentions that if they had been a bit earlier, she could have been revived.

-Nico wonders if Thalia’s going to stab him as he starts whooping. And takes notes about where Talos falls.

Loop 66:

-Nico swears, if Percy Jackson tries to sacrifice himself for Annabeth Chase one more time--

Loop 67:

-Bianca.

-I found you, he sobs. I found you.

-Gods damn the Hoover Dam.

Loop 68:

-And again.

-Despite having the distinct inkling at this point that he doesn’t much like like girls, Nico could kiss Silena Beauregard and Thalia Grace when they manage to revive his sister each time.

-She’s shaky and leaning on him and was dead, he could see her soul floating away--

-But she’s there.

-Nico refuses to let his sister out of the sight at the Hoover Dam and Percy befriends the Naiads this time.

-At least, until the Titans--who Nico made the very big mistake of taunting at DC--sends monsters he can’t control.

Loop 69, 70, 71, 72, 73:

-They keep dying in various combinations at the Hoover Dam now that Nico’s figured out how to save Bianca.

-At least, until he gets separated from Percy in Loop 73 and he meets a redheaded girl with a penchant for calling Nico pint-size.

-Athena dislikes Percy, Nico, Bianca, and Thalia in equal measure. Having learned of the Great Prophecy in Loop 16 and Percy’s mooning over Annabeth in. . .well, every loop, Nico can’t quite blame her.

Loop 74:

-Her name is Rachel Elizabeth Dare and Nico likes her. She takes none of their shit and if it weren’t for the fact that they already have eight people on the quest, he’d want to take her along.

-Bianca gets in a fight with the Old Man of the Sea. Thalia electrocutes him when he throws Bianca in the bay.

Loop 75:

-Nico wakes up in Westover with the distinct feeling that he was drowned on dry land.

-He stays in bed shivering, that day.

Loop 76:

-Atlas is the father of Zoë Nightshade. Nico learned this around Loop 50. He had realized around five loops ago that this probably meant she was going to die “by a parent’s hand.”

-He hadn’t realized that it was going to hurt to watch.

Loop 77, 78, 79, 80, 81:

-Now that he’s figured things out to about San Francisco, it seems the world is out to get him. The number of fights or mistakes that he either makes himself or has to head off are ridiculous.

Loop 82:

-Nico is so very tired. And wishes he felt ten years old again.

Loop 83:

-If Thalia gets in one more fight with Nereus, Nico's going to walk into the sea.

Loop 84:

-He wanders off, in this one. Grover had been killed in Hoover Dam, so Nico’s waiting for the reset at this point.

-In the meantime, Nico figures there are worse things to do than enjoy a good afternoon in San Francisco. He even meets a boy in a purple shirt.

-His name is Jason and he has hair like the sun.

-If he ever fixes this, Nico wants to find him.

Loop 85:

-Nico’s not fast enough in the junkyard.

-In San Francisco, he tries to find the ugliest, biggest trouble he can find.

-He finds a pair of teenagers in armor who yell Latin at him instead.

Loop 86:

-There’s a dragon that will attack them in the Garden of the Hesperides if they make it angry enough and Nico is so tired.

Loop 87:

- Zoë Nightshade is dead. They’ve won.

-Funny definition of “win”, considering they’ve all almost died this loop about a dozen times each, and Nico can’t explain why he’s crying on the body of a Hunter he only met a week ago, in their eyes.

-She hates him, some loops. More loops, she looks at him with ghosts of old grief in her eyes and hands him a knife.

-The gods execute Bessie, and then, Nico watches as his father turns to him and Bianca with sorrowful eyes.

-Nico should’ve figured, after almost ninety loops.

Loop 88:

-Luke offers one of them the entrails of Bessie again.

-Nico takes them.

Loop 89:

-For all the good it does. Nico wakes up as he does every time now: Powerless, in bed, and with only a grey streak to show for his efforts.

Loop 90, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, 98:

-Nico doesn’t know how to save Zoë Nightshade. Bianca, he could trick and fight his way into it. Beckendorf and Silena and Percy and a loophole in lost could save his sister.

-Her, she just. . .dies. Sometimes in DC, sometimes in San Francisco, sometimes on the hills of Mt. Tamalpais. Always at the hands of Atlas.

-Always, being murdered by her father.

-It’s not as gutting as watching his sister die, but it aches more in his chest, somehow.

Loop 99:

-He sticks close to Zoë this time. Same as he’s done with Percy, Annabeth, his sister, Thalia, and Grover, time and time again. But not her, Nico is realizing. Not the clinging he’s achieving now.

-Hoping for. . .something.

-He knows better than to tell the immortal Lieutenant of Artemis the whole truth. The loneliness is enough.

-She’s less frosty to him from the start than to, say, Grover or Percy, after Annabeth goes over the cliff again. When he shows up in DC, she’s much less angry than he’s seen her.

-Along the way to New Mexico and then San Francisco, he listens. He’s grown better at it, this far in. When the others are asleep, when Bianca is being fussed over after Talos, when everyone but them is asleep by the fire, he listens.

-And she tells him about her sisters. About her father, when the world was young and Atlas had looked on every daughter of his with pride. She tells him, pride glistening in her eyes, of the battles she has seen, the hunts she has overseen at the command of a goddess, the monsters she has killed, and the epithets she has been given.

-He doesn’t ask anything of her. Not until they’re in the house of Annabeth’s father, drinking lemonade the night before the battle, and Nico knows she is about to die again.

-What do you want, he asks. You’ve done everything. What’s left?

-She stopped, ice seems to creep over her again, and Nico wondered if he’d hit some sore spot.

-He’s opened his mouth to make his apologies when she answers, so quiet and quick he thinks he’s imagined it.

-To be remembered. When my lady has taken another lieutenant, as she must, and I have gone to where all gods go when they die, I wish for my memory to remain. And. . .

-Nico waits, and ignores the sudden, terrifying thought that he no longer knows what he wants.

-I wish to see the stars again. I was born a nymph of the sunset; starlight is precious to me. I want to see it again.

-Nico dies to preserve the memory of Zoë Nightshade.

100:

-Nico di Angelo wakes up in Westover Hall. He hopes for the last time.

-He does everything right: Annabeth goes over the cliff, his sister joins the Hunt, Percy is soon his friend, and he convinces Silena and Beckendorf to join the quest.

-The Nemean Lion never stands a chance, and Nico is glad to be rid of it.

-His sister lives.

-Nico watches Percy watch Rachel Elizabeth Dare go, looking like he’s just taken a frying pan to the face, and fights the urge to snicker.

-Thalia doesn’t start a fight with Nereus, but Percy certainly does. Nico could’ve sworn he saw the boy with sun-hair again, watching with curiosity.

- Zoë Nightshade dies in the arms of Artemis and is made into the stars she loves so dearly. Nico promises her soul that he will remember.

-For, he has found, the dead have a tendency of remembering things they shouldn’t.

-Annabeth and Percy now have grey streaks to match Nico’s, and Nico can’t wait to spend the rest of his life trying to explain that.

-It’s closer than he would like, but much less close than other lives with Olympus. The Ophiotaurus is alive and safe, and they are all alive.

-As Nico walks out of the council, he looks off to the side. By the fire is the familiar girl with red eyes--the Lady Hestia, looking much closer to Nico’s age than that of the Olympian she is.

-Besides her are three old ladies. Nico’s heard about them from Percy, in Loops 26, 53, 61, and 62.

-One lady holds a ball of string that is the color of a warm umber. The other is knitting what looked suspicious like socks. The last. . .

-Scissors, in one hand. Just as expected. Nico swallowed.

-In the other, was a knot of burnt string, tied to the socks. Behind her, Nico could see discarded string of all colors: an electric blue, a stormy grey, a black that seems to glisten with the promise of a storm, string the soft, hopeful pink of love, yarn run through with bright copper.

-Glowing threads that Nico could only describe as the color of starlight.

-As he walked out, firmly between Percy Jackson and Thalia Grace, the Hunt of Artemis behind him, Nico hears one last promise:

It is done, Nico di Angelo.

Energy Update: September 2021

Happy September!

Numerologically, September is a 5 universal month [9 (September) + 5 (2021) = 14 = 1+4 = 5] in a 5 universal year. In numerology, the number 5 represents the pivotal moment in the middle of it all. It holds the vastness of all futures – both good and ill. 5 represents freedom and adventure. A 5 month is, in general, a time to tap in and go with the flow – it’s not a time to make your lists and check them twice; instead, it’s a time to think big and say “yes”. We’ve been sitting in 5 energy all year so this may feel like a bit of a homecoming for some or very nerve-wracking for others. This will have a lot to do with your own personality and comfortability with 5 energy.

Astrologically, the month of September is a mismatch for our 5 universal energy. We spend most of the month in Virgo season and may have to spend quite a bit of time putting in the work to catch up on things that we fell behind on during summer vacation. Whether it’s back to school or back to work, Virgo season always has a feeling of settling into your routines again or perhaps finding a new and more healthful routine.

The Setup

The Sun is in Virgo for most of the month, Mercury spends the entirety of the month in Libra, Venus finishes her stint in Libra and moves ahead into Scorpio, and Mars enters Libra at the midway point in the month. As our planets transit through Virgo, they are squaring off with the lunar nodes, trining retrograde Uranus in Taurus and Pluto in Capricorn, and opposing retrograde Neptune in Pisces. As they transit Libra, they are reactivating our Saturn-Uranus square through a trine to Saturn, trine to retrograde Jupiter, and opposing retrograde Chiron in Aries. Venus whose the head of our pack will be squaring off with Saturn and opposing Uranus once she enters Scorpio.

We are still under the effect of our Saturn in Aquarius square to Uranus in Taurus – this is our Unstoppable Force meets immovable object energy that is in effect throughout the rest of the year.

Additionally, we are deep into retrograde season with all of our outer and transpersonal planets in retrograde. Mercury will join these planets later this month for its third retrograde of the year in the sign of Libra.

The Nitty Gritty

September is filled with contradictory vibes and may feel like a roller coaster. One day you may feel invincible and full of the highest highs but it is worth keeping in mind all month that what goes up must come down. We are all subject to gravity – plan accordingly. In particular, the first and third weeks of the month look fairly rocky while the third and fourth weeks have promise and moments of sweetness. This is a month to tidy up – to work smarter rather than harder. To pair down your responsibilities and make sure you are maintaining healthy boundaries around work, play, and excess.

The 5 energy may give the impression that it’s go time but it’s really not. Not yet. We will have six planets and Chiron retrograde by the end of the month which is always an indication that our energy is best expressed in an inward fashion.

Two of our personal planets (Venus and Mars) change signs this month which will personalize the energy with some emphasis on the relationships in our lives. While Mars is in Libra, we may be called to balance out the relationship energy we share with our others in some way – early on Mars will make an opposition to our wounded healer Chiron in Aries – there is pain to go through to get to the other side. Venus in Scorpio can be harsh and unyielding but also deep and seductive. These two energies do not sit well together, Venus may try to control (especially with emotions – using toxic tactics like the silent treatment or double binds) while Mars just wants everybody to find peace and get along. The more space you can give your others, the better off you will be.

Relationships may be especially tense around the new moon in Virgo on 9/5-9/6 as Venus in Libra squares of with retrograde Pluto in Capricorn while Mars in Virgo makes a trine. This year is all about transformations – first, we need to transform internally, but then this transformation needs to ripple outward and into our realities. There may be some break-ups and breakdowns during this time – it is likely that some long-term partners (Capricorn rules marriage, let’s not forget) are starting to realize that their connection has run its course.

In a year when it feels like we need to hold onto everything (influenced by our long-term Saturn-Uranus square in the fixed signs), this may feel catastrophic. Uranus in Taurus has a big lesson for us now: nothing lasts forever and retrograde Pluto in Capricorn is reinforcing this lesson. Now is the time to release what you have outgrown. It will likely feel very uncomfortable this month to continue to wear your mostly shed skin. As you navigate this energy, make the choices that are best suited for who you would most like to be, and you alone.

Herein lies the secret to navigating this month and really the energy of all of 2021: give up the illusion that you can control or “help” other people, and instead work controlling and “helping” yourself. As Anne Lamott says “Help is just the sunny side of control.” We are being pushed by our Saturn-Uranus square towards an ever-deepening understanding of this lesson and, since Virgo is a sign concerned with service and helping others, this will be especially accentuated as our sun transits the sign of the virgin. The lesson may come due on 9/14 as our Sun in Virgo opposed retrograde Neptune in Pisces – this is a day to give up the illusion (Neptune in Pisces) that we can control (Sun in Virgo) our Others.

Especially right now, our Others may be on an internal journey that is impossible for us to reach or understand. We’ve all had to make hard decisions and recalculations since the beginning of 2020 – beware of following your Others to a place that feels uncomfortable to be AND most especially of demanding your Others follow you to a place that feels uncomfortable for them. Be especially aware of projection and the illusionary stories that you tell yourself – especially as we approach our full moon in Pisces on 9/20 that is conjunct Neptune retrograde. As we enter our month to finally get shit done in October, we want to do so with our eyes wide open. See things as they really are, not as you would like them to be.

The entirety of September and October will be overshadowed by our Mercury retrograde in Libra cycle. Mercury enters its shadow on 9/6, officially retrogrades 9/27, stations direct again on 10/28, and doesn’t exit its post-shadow until November. The standard Mercury retrograde things apply: get your car fixed before the retrograde (change your oil, too!), double-check your work, save often, and watch out for miscommunication and upsets involving technology and travel. Because Mercury Chthonia is transversing backward through the Venus-ruled sign of Libra, this is another indication that this time will be spent re-thinking, re-imagining, re-editing things that have to do within our most personal relationships.

Mercury Chthonia’s path spans from 10° to 25° of Libra which means that it will trine retrograde Jupiter, just barely miss an exact trine with retrograde Saturn, square retrograde Pluto, and opposed retrograde Chiron not once but thrice through its retrograde journey. This will likely be the densest retrograde cycle of the year but potentially the most rewarding. If the message seems murky and unclear, write out your experiences for review after Mercury stations direct – you may find that there were hints of your lesson that you were too “in it” to see.

The lower energy of Libra is prone to emotional entanglements and codependency so it’s likely we will be revisiting these themes in our own lives during this time. Watch out for where you are not allowing your Others to differentiate or be themselves. Watch out for where you are stifling yourself to please your Others as well. Chiron in Aries is always a lesson in putting on your own mask first BEFORE you step up help an/Other put their mask on. Again, see above about maintaining strong boundaries this month – do less but make what you do count for more.

Balance truly is the way through this month but it may be hard to find. Practice your very best self-care and make sure that when you say “yes” to things, you really mean it. This is a month that could easier run away from you if you’re checking out on yourself or trying to do all of the things with no hand on the brake petal. Breath and put one foot in front of the other – slow and steady will get you to the finish line. Once our planets station direct in October, we will be able to move faster.

Below, I’ve broken down the important daily aspects of the month. Please keep in mind that the days listed are just the days that these aspects go exact in EST – strong aspects can be felt anywhere from 2-7 days (or more!) in advance of their completion and for a number of days afterward. I have bolded the most important aspects.

The Aspects

9/2 – Mars in Virgo opposed Neptune retrograde in Pisces, Moon in Cancer square Venus in Libra – this could spell relationship troubles. Mars is off in daydream land while Venus is feeling triggered. Lie low and try not to put undue pressure on your Others during these transits.

9/3 – Mercury in Libra trine N. Node in Gemini – watch out for Ah-Ha moments and signs that show you a way forward on this day.

9/4 – Moon in Leo squares retrograde Uranus in Taurus – here we see one of our four monthly days where the moon reactivates our Saturn-Uranus square. Lie low. Stay aware. Caution.

9/5 – Mercury in Libra trine retrograde Saturn in Aquarius – the energy is volatile – expect breakdowns and breakthroughs especially involving communication about long term things

9/6 – New moon at 14° Virgo, Mercury enters their shadow, Venus in Libra trine Jupiter retrograde in Aquarius, Venus in Libra square Pluto retrograde in Capricorn, Mars in Virgo trine Pluto retrograde in Capricorn – Pluto’s influence on this new moon (through both Venus and Mars) is unmistakeable – something has got to transform. With both and Venus and Mars involved, it may be a change within your relationships. Remember to reach for balance (Venus in Libra) and compromise if it is available.

9/7 – Sun in Virgo trine retrograde Uranus in Taurus – expect (and embrace) the unexpected during this time. What you hold onto too tightly may break. Stay away from the illusion of control during this time.

9/8 – Moon conjunct Mercury in Libra, Moon in Libra trine retrograde Saturn in Aquarius, Moon and Mercury opposed retrograde Chiron in Aries – this is an air grand trine which means that we are supporting in learning something during this transit. This re-activates our Saturn-Uranus square and Chiron – the lesson is likely to be heavy. Avoid using your emotions as a copout to understanding.

9/10 – Venus enters Scorpio, Moon in Scorpio square retrograde Saturn in Aquarius – this is our first hint as to what it is going to feel like to revisit our Saturn-Uranus square during Scorpio season. Take note.

9/13 – Moon in Sagittarius square retrograde Neptune in Pisces – something may be revealed today and it may feel like a major setback. Pivot your attention and focus on things that you CAN change.

9/14 – Sun in Virgo opposed retrograde Neptune in Pisces, Mars enters Libra – a repeat on 9/13 – you may not have all of the information. All that glitters is not gold. Watch out for “helper” behavior that isn’t helpful and victim/savior complexes.

9/16 – Moon conjunct retrograde Saturn in Aquarius – this is another of our four lunar activation points to our Saturn-Uranus square. Make sure the weight of the responsibility you are carrying is actually yours.

9/17 – Sun in Virgo trine retrograde Pluto in Capricorn, Venus in Scorpio square Saturn retrograde in Aquarius – in a month that begs for transformation, this is one of our powerhouse days – level up. Change may be uncomfortable but it will be even more uncomfortable to stay in your too-tight skin. Watch out for the control through emotional manipulation because this again activates our Saturn-Uranus square and Uranus is not having any of that shit.

9/20 – Full moon at 28° Pisces, Moon conjunct retrograde Neptune, Mercury in Libra trine Jupiter retrograde in Aquarius, Mars in Libra trine N. Node in Gemini – where are you going? do you have a path forward? Things may seem foggy and immutable at this time. Watch out for your boundaries and projection. The Mercury-Jupiter trine repeats during Mercury retrograde on 10/3.

9/22 – The Sun enters Libra, Mercury in Libra square retrograde Pluto in Capricorn, Venus in Scorpio opposed retrograde Uranus in Taurus – Happy Autumnal Equinox! The seasons are shifting but there’s a metric fuckton of tension in the air. Tamper down the emotional volatility – not everything needs to be a struggle. Tap into the Libra ideal of peace and balance for all. The Mercury-Pluto square repeats during Mercury retrograde on 10/01.

9/24 – Moon conjunct retrograde Uranus in Taurus, Moon in Taurus opposed Venus in

Scorpio – there’s a lesson here in letting go of control. This reactivates our Saturn-Uranus square…again. Step away from the Venus in Scorpio impulse for revenge.

9/25 – Mars in Libra trine retrograde Saturn in Aquarius – this is a good day to put in the work.

9/26 – Moon in Gemini trine Sun and Mars in Libra and retrograde Saturn in Aquarius. – another air grand trine. Show up for your own life – what you focus on grows.

9/27 – Mercury retrograde at 25° Libra – go slow. check your work. save often. Mercury retrograde 3-4x every year since this is normal Astrological Weather but still important to pay attention to. In the sign of Libra, Mercury will likely help you to rebalance something about your relationships.

9/29 – Sun in Libra trine Saturn retrograde in Aquarius, Venus in Scorpio trine retrograde Neptune in Pisces – you may want to work but it’s likely that your head will be in the clouds. Watch out for emotional dysregulation. The Sun activates our Saturn-Uranus square so caution would be advised.

9/30 – Moon in Cancer square Mercury retrograde in Libra, Moon in Cancer opposed retrograde Pluto in Capricorn, Venus in Scorpio square retrograde Jupiter in Aquarius – go slow, emotions are high. Misunderstandings will have a lasting impact during this time.
