All of those Batfamily de-aged fics, but like, they’re all in their "Trouble-Maker Era". This is primarily to create as much chaos as physically possible, and potentially cause Batman a stress aneurysm.

Like, Dick Grayson, going from a relatively well adjusted (for a vigilante which isn’t saying much) to a tiny crazed 8 year old Robin who is ready to Fight God or die trying. He keeps perching on chandeliers, throwing stuff at people and hitting Damian over the head every time Damian mentions hes Robin.

Jason Todd, who was a well settled Red Hood. Little murder, but mostly having fun with the outlaws and saving the world. Now is an angry recently resurrected 19 year old bent on beating the Bat up. Currently he's gone to the wind. No one knows where he's at, but once something blows up they'll use that as a triangulator.

Cassandra Cain, who already is a stubborn shit at the best of times but has learned to compromise more and more over the years, is back to the homeless child that Bruce found during No Mans Land. She only trusts Bruce and Duke and is utterly willing to wreck anyone else who gets close to them.

Tim Drake, who has found his calling as whatever call sign he chooses, is now launched back to “All my friends and family are dead or think I’m in desperate need of therapy (which I am but god forbid I admit that), I think I’m a little insane with grief so let me traverse the entire world and work with one of my adoptive fathers greatest enemies to find him” Red Robin era. He's been holed up in his room running the calculations that this is a doomsday scenario since he got back from being de-aged.

Stephanie Brown (who, unlike the rest was smart enough to run for the hills when the magic user appeared, yelling out that this one is for the idiot boys, but unfortunately got waylaid by Cass), is now a new Spoiler who is spoiling to fight Batman barehanded because he said that she should go home.

Duke is back to the Robin War gang era and along with Dick, ready to Fight God. Hes got like, fifty makeshift weapons at one time and ends up teaming up with Cass.

Damian, currently Robin and doing very well in the role, is now back to the newly acquired child stage where he’s attempting to prove himself to both sides of his heritage. He ends up being terribly endearing to Bruce solely because, even if it's only partial, at least Damian sticks around for the whole lecture when the crew gets in trouble (he's only doing that so he can find loopholes).

It concerns Bruce how many of these literal children are either down to murder or take out their siblings should said sibling Attempt To Murder.

Discussing the tithe in ACoMaF:

Honestly, this is likely a hill I’m going to die on, but I’m willing. So, let’s talk about the tithe in ACoMaF.

The tithe:

It is further explained that Tamlin pushed the collection of the tithe back one month to give every one just a bit more time to collect it.

If however a faerie still fails in handing in their tithe, the following happens:

That’s what Lucien tells Feyre.

Everyone who fails to bring the tithe will get an additional three days to be able to still make it. Granted, depending on what the tithe is, three days might not be enough. But, I’ll get to that in a second.

Note also: Tamlin will be expected to hunt them down. Note that it says expected, and not "he wants to hunt them down bc etc."

And then, when Tamlin does actually confront the water-wraith, we get this information:

So, you don’t actually have to hand in the tithe in just three days. You can literally just wait 6 months and pay double. Now, double might seem like an unfair increase, but really it isn’t. If you think about it, all that this rule is, is an extension of the time that you get for earning the first tithe. You just get an additional six months.

Also, as it was established, the tithe is literally calculated and based on your income and status (whatever that means. I suppose it means that even the rich that don’t have an income, but just a stale heritage, get taxed accordingly). So it means that acquiring the tithe isn’t an impossible feat. It’s really just taxes, but more fair, because this time the rich get taxed accordingly, too.

Also:

You might wonder: how much is the tithe for the water-wraiths that they failed to hand it in in the time given to them?

Through Feyre, we find out that the tithe for the water-wraiths is, drumroll please 🥁…. A bucket of fish. Yeah, a single basket of fish for the entirety of the water wraith population of the pond …

All they had to do was hand it a single basket of fish. And they didn’t.

(Also, I find it so stupid that Feyre literally just says they don’t even need a basket of fish, bc how would she know? She never asked Tamlin what happens to the things people bring for the tithes. She just assumed that they don’t need them bc she is dead set on making Tamlin out to be this splurging man, living lavishly in unnecessary luxury)

Anyway, now, during the conversation the water wraith has with Tamlin, Feyre gets the impression that the water wraith is starving. Why? Bc the water wraith claims the pond they live in is empty of fish.

Now, why is that? Because the water wraiths ate all the fish.

Feyre immediately makes the connection between her and her sisters, as they too know what it means to have no food, to feel the hunger.

Only later we find out that the water wraiths aren’t actually starving. They’re just cursed with "insatiable hunger", whatever that means.

Now, I just saw that it says appetite instead of hunger, which makes it even worse. Omg.

So they’re not even starving, they’re just constantly craving food.

But then, in the next line, it says that they do actually die of starvation. But that begs the question: HOW?

When is it that their hunger/ appetite isn’t satiated enough (which, by definition it can never actually be???? Because it’s insatiable ) that they starve?

It’s all just super unclear. And vague. It makes zero sense 🤦‍♀️😒

Okay, during that conversation Feyre also tells Tamlin that instead of making them pay their tithe, they should help them replenish the pond. Tamlin declines and Feyre in turn thinks that he is being unnecessarily cruel etc.

But, here in the conversation with Alis, it is revealed that actually no one, not a single faerie in the spring court, would have given the water wraiths money or whatever, because it virtually makes no sense. They just spend whatever they will get trying to satiate a hunger that cannot be mended.

And they know this. Everyone else knows it. But Feyre refuses to believe it.

The jewelry that Feyre gave them will last merely a week. A week. That’s nothing. But somehow, we’re all supposed to be on Feyres samaritan side here and think that it would be the right thing to give them money/ resources etc.

Until when? Exactly? Because as it is, there would never be an end to it.

Now I’m not saying that making them give something is more sensical. It’s obvious that they struggle to curb their hunger and making them forfeit on food has proven to be an exhausting task for them to accomplish.

Only that … only that according to Tamlin, the tithe has been around for ages. His father did it like this, the father of his father did it like this and so on and so forth. Btw, that means it’s been a lot of time since faeries essentially don’t die unless they're killed. And all of this in turn means that the water wraiths have had to have paid their tithes in the past. Otherwise they wouldn’t be around anymore. So it gets you wondering: how come is it that they were able to pay in the past and only now they can’t?

Now, it could definitely be that when Tamlin killed Amarantha and took over the spring court again, they struggled to adjust to it in the little time that passed. However, that’s just a guess. And it’s not backed up by anything, because Acotar has little to no world building and all that we know about the history we find out in the details that are conveniently added just how it fits the narrative whenever a new book comes out 😀

Therefore, the explanation I would offer is:

The tithe is just another example of Sjm's inconsistent, bad worldbuilding and it goes to show furthermore, that she was just trying to find a way to make Tamlins character look bad. Unsuccessfully, if I may say so.

Anyway, I can’t believe I’ve spent so much time discussing the fking tithe, but this has been simmering in my brain for like two years now so I just needed to make this post!

My favorite unofficial friend group is Rachel, Grover, Percy, Annabeth, Nico, and Will cause yes I am well aware that some of these have no basis in cannon whatsoever but I think the dynamic would be fun like:

They all have a lot of fun introducing Nico to modern day things. It’s so entertaining that they dedicate one day a month to all meeting up and showing Nico something new.

The girls actually become SUPER close and hang out all the time.

Everyone kind of takes up a big sibling role for Will and Nico. Percy and Annbeth especially and they often coach them through a lot of being-a-good-councilor-hurdles

Rachel teaches Nico how to paint. (I just remember him admiring her paintings in TON and I won’t let it go)

Will and Grover (and probably Percy) grow weed. Will uses it a lot as a medicinal herb, but he also smokes it with Grover and Percy from time to time. Also they all make weed brownies together one time and then watch Disney’s Hercules together and it’s a wreck.

TONS of karaoke, made all the better by the fact that none of them can sing. Rachel is definitely the best tho

They talk about their trauma a lot. It’s much easier for them to talk about it to one another because they know they’ll understand

SLEEPOVERS. The do all the stereotypical stuff: face masks, truth or dare, movies.. ect

Percy and Nico have a lot of adventures in cooking, which they both like to do. They’ve make at least 8 different types of blue pasta

Will and Percy are honorary horse girls (wills from the country and Percy just likes horses) and they go for Pegasus/unicorn rides around camp

They all work really well in battle. Anytime there is a monster the six of them can usually take care of it in 15 minutes

when it comes to movements that require action and change, people are like. weirdly devoted to making sure you never, ever have to change your behavior/thoughts/habits/diet/purchases/beliefs/anything at all about the way you live and do. there is soooo much effort trying to ~spread positivity that “it’s ok if you still—!” so long as you get to pretend you’re a good ally.

like. sometimes it’s actually not ok. sometimes it really is laziness. sometimes it’s apathy. sometimes it’s willful ignorance. a lot of the time it’s vanity and greed.

when it comes to change, to REAL change, the discomfort and the inconvenience is the point. like YES changing things takes sacrifice and deprivation of convenience! (even if it’s emotional—the discomfort of speaking up, the inconvenience of taking time to participate in advocacy and activism.)

like sorry to tell you but yeah you gotta actually commit to some palpable changes that will definitely mean way fewer luxuries for yourself. you might not be getting yourself ~*little treats*~ every day or whatever. why is that a harsh sentence for me to say? why is that grounds for a breakdown from so many people? especially people who will die on the hill of getting to call themselves anticapitalist in their tumblr bios?

i know you already touched on some, but yellowjackets and pll for the media parallels?

Okay so some very obvious similarities between the two shows as in they’re both about a group of girls who are friends who end up sharing these really traumatic experiences, and we see those experiences shape them into people who can only be understood in a specific way by each other. Pll plays with horror tropes sometimes although it isn’t a horror show the way Yellowjackets is and vice versa for Yellowjackets interacting with like, genera drama tropes you’d find in Pll. There are some similarities between archetypes in characters and dynamics.

Jackie and Alison is a pretty clear parallel: both the popular leader girls who died before the bigger story came to fruition and their death dramatically effects things for the other girls going forward, she haunts the narrative after her death even appearing to Shauna/the liars post her death (Alison actually being alive isn’t that useful to this parallel so I won’t really address it here). Even though they embody some similar archetypes and places in the narrative of both shows Jackie and Alison obviously aren’t the same character and the dynamics/ripple effects of their death have differences. Jackie is not a “mean girl” like Alison was, her power actually came from how nice and easy to get along with she was (in a world that wasn’t an environment she was fundamentally unsuited to on all levels, in which she was just slightly cunty/not willing to get her hands dirty thus rapidly losing social power pre her death, definitely not a controlling, manipulative rule with an iron fist type a la Ali in any way). Also her death is shown to have significance for the group in general but only Shauna is truly haunted/her life is defined by Jackie’s death. For the other girls (and my perception of this might change with further exploration in the show, but atm) the significance is there but symbolic/part of a picture so much bigger. I don’t even think that Emily is irrefutably the most effected by Alison’s death of all the chars, it’s so significant for all of them in different ways. But I think in a similar way to how all the liars kind of take on the “role” of Alison in some way after her death (I’m actually writing a paper for a class about Pll and gothic doubling so I go into them all “mirroring” Ali in some way there a lot I won’t get into it here much since I don’t want to end up writing my paper twice), you see something similar with Jackie in Yellowjackets, and in that way I think you could say the liars “consume” Alison as well even if it isn’t literal like with the team eating Jackie. An obvious case is Shauna marrying Jeff, and taking on the future Jackie likely would have had if she lived. Also see Taissa and then especially after her death Lottie taking up the mantle of leadership when Jackie can not, the way Spencer took on that role for the liars. 

Taissa and Spencer parallels! They’re both the high achieving smart girl who is stubborn/prideful and Will die on hills! If they want to! Also very loyal and especially young! Taissa is very protective in the way that Spencer is and that’s a big part of both their roles in the dynamics. Both also went to law school and then worked in politics although Spencer was less on the frontlines. Also noticed they’re both typed ENTJ on pde. Also the whole mirror! Tai thing vs Spencer and Alex mirror scene which yes campy but a parallel for sure. But yes they have an evil double. I also last year when I watched Pll did read a lot of old A theories out of curiosity and the Spencer as A ones usually involved a split personality or break that lead to her chasing her own tail in a sense, and I feel like Tai re: mirror Tai is similar to that. 

Mona and Misty feels like the most on point comparison imo. They’re both so driven by wanting both love and control, also I reblogged a comp het reading of Misty reading that’s also very Mona. Their attitudes to the other adult yellowjackets / the liars and sort of being on the outskirts but there to help with murder cover ups etc. lol. I just love those crazy bitches. I’m actually having a hard time finding words to explain their similarities to me it’s just so obvious. 

Shauna, to me, parallels both Emily and Spencer, and specifically I think Shauna is sort of a potential version to me of what could have happened for Emily if the writers had been willing to explore underlying flaws or darker aspects to her char the way they did with Spencer and Mona all the time and to a lesser extent Alison Aria and Hanna. They have the Jackie/Alison thing in common and Emily is sometimes shown to be effected by her grief in terms of having a lot of repressed anger, abandonment/commitment issues imo, and also she very much wants to see herself as a good person/has a lot of pride which is very Shauna. also I feel like the specific overlaps are also in line with the ways Spencer and Emily have a fair amount in common. Shauna also takes on the Spencer role specifically in the finale scene her saying her piece about the roles Jackie forces onto her and how she wishes Jackie was dead basically reminded me a lot of the Spencer + Ali (paraphrased) “I made you Spencer” what is a leader without any followers you would not exist without us you are dead to me already” scene. Also Shauna is Spencer like in her obsessiveness. 

Taissa x Shauna x Jackie I had a whole thing about being like Spencer x Emily x Alison, however it’s been a season and I was a lot more obsessed with that dynamic in s1 recently I’ve been more pre occupied with both the lottienatmisty sitch and the taivan dysfunctional divorced arc and shaunatai (which I was literally obsessed with in s1) shines less than other dynams rn and Ella’s not on set. Taishauna reminded me of Spemily because of the same sense of them clashing brutally but ultimately being very tender with each other/understanding each other so we’ll and being there for each other in especially hard moments. Tai and Shauna both kind of take on the Spencer role with Alison at points like I said and then the idea of Jackieshauna is like the idea of Emison obviously the heart of the dynamics are different but tropes wise there are similarities. Especially the way Shauna/Emily need their dead girls to be kind of on this pedestal in their memory/are in love with the impossibility of them I rebloged a meta about this for how Shauna sees ghost Jackie I think… On my note about Jackie being softer than Alison I also think there’s a bit of similarity to Emaya in how things play out. The scene where Tai comforts Shauna over Jackie’s body in the finale reminded me of Spencer comforting Emily in Unmasked when Maya’s body is found. 

I was toying with a Mistynat Vandermarin comparison but I don’t have much concrete to say tbh except the whole Misty watching Nat through a camera deal in the s1 finale would so happen with Mona watching either Hanna or Spencer… actually or any of the liars ngl.

Something I don't understand about these articles that bring up Larries and their 'conspiracy theory' is that it draws more attention to it and could create new Larries. People who have never heard of Larry will read those articles and be curious and look it up and see youtube vids, blogs and etc. If they are on the fence about Harry's sexuality then they definitely will. So there is just as much chance people will read into it as them laughing it off. The fact that Vulture is paying to promote their trash article hating on Harry and using a clickbait title about his acting and then mentioning the 'conspiracy theory'. Like are they completely dumb? If they want to bury the 'conspiracy theory' then don't mention it at all? I don't get it. Why are these so called critics all going after Harry and writing hate pieces on him and barely acknowledging that there are other actors in the movie too? I'm guessing that they come from WB's side trying to ruin him after messing up DWD promo, or Sony who are terrified of him 'coming out' or even competitors. The hate campaign against him is getting weird, and now they're paying to promote it? Why is his PR team nonexistent? Shouldn't they be planting some positive stuff about him?

I’m gonna go to the second part of your ask first.

I really don’t think Warner Bros would send a PR “hit” out on Harry like that, for multiple reasons. First, studios and record labels don’t work the same way, in that Harry’s not under an exclusive contract with Warner Bros. and so they have no reason to want to keep him in line or under thumb the way Sony used to in One Direction, nor do they have the power to. He’s employed for one movie, and essentially, because it was a bad experience for Harry (and everyone), WB would have everything to gain by maintaining a cordial, professional relationship with him, if they intend to work with him again in the future. (And, considering how much they’re relying on his brand to keep this movie afloat in theaters, it’s likely that, however they feel about his acting chops, they recognize that the smarter business move is to have someone like Harry (and his fan base) as an open option for the future.)

Second, he didn’t actually do anything he wasn’t supposed to. “Screwing up DWD promo” is a fandom opinion, because we know what he’s like when he actually wants a project to succeed. In terms of his professional obligations though, he did everything he was hired for (and, unfortunately, more). He didn’t speak out of turn, or bad mouth the movie. In fact, he spoke about it in as effusive a manner as he could, given the quality. He played a good little stunt puppet, and even allowed them to piggyback on his music to make bank, so they literally have zero reason to “want revenge”, even in light of the contrast with My Policeman promo.

Rather, I’m pretty sure the disdain from critics boils down to nothing other than the gatekeep-y nature of the industry. Critics are never welcoming of musicians who want to work in acting - literally never - and this is something we foresaw. We always knew Harry would have to be utterly flawless in his role (impossible, three movies in) in order to receive even a modicum of critical praise because they were always going to be exceptionally hard on him, as they are on other celebrities who try and make the leap. The only reason he was spared during Dunkirk was because criticizing him (simply for being Harry Styles) would be tantamount to criticizing Christopher Nolan’s casting decision and that wasn’t a hill critics were willing to die on, especially for a minor part in an ensemble cast.

This, however - pop culture’s current obsession scoring two leading (and one queer!) roles in the same year, with two directors who are still finding their feet - this was fair game. And, it sucks because I think critics would have been so much more willing to go into My Policeman with some room to be surprised, if not for the absolutely overexposed media catastrophe that was DWD. But it’s just too tempting now, too sweet, too (seemingly) justified to be able to tear him down for just having the audacity to throw his hat in the ring, because after that circus, no one is expecting him to be any good. More importantly in entertainment, no one is expecting anyone (of note) to come to his defense. So, even if he holds his own, it’s not ever going to be enough (not now, at least).

This is not to say the criticism of Harry’s acting isn’t warranted. I’ve read some very fair critiques, especially pointing out the contrast between him, and David and Emma. But that’s the thing: rarely are these articles criticizing the actual acting. Rarely do they even seem to get the objective of the movie, if they deign to mention the movie at all. Instead, they’re focused on the Harry of it all and it’s making me laugh because they’re doing the one thing they make fun of fangirls for: they’re making it… ✨all about Harry Styles.✨

And, as for the Larry stuff…

One, their PR teams never did seem to get the memo that if you wanna prove Larry isn’t real, stop trying so hard to prove Larry isn’t real. It’s their twelve year struggle; we’re still waiting for them to catch on.

Two, I’ve said before that fan girl hysteria is an easy and juicy scapegoat. In a bid for attention (which is entertainment media’s main goal), the easiest people to pooh-pooh are young women. Nothing will get you clicks like making fun of a predominantly female fandom, because you have the patriarchy fully in your corner. So, you get the clicks and you get the bonus points of the Jack Chambers-es in every basement high-fiving you with both Cheeto-crusted wank hands.

The caveat, though, is that we silly fan girls turned out to be just a little too right about Olivia Wilde (shocker!) so its still too soon to try and sell the whole “they hate her/her movie cause they fancy her boyfriend” shtick again. So what did they do? They pivoted on the hysteria strategy, and the next best narrative to fans who would fully shank your girlfriend out of jealousy is fans who are so crazy they believe you’re gay and in a 12 year closeted relationship with your former band mate.

Just another day in the fandom. Sigh.

like idk maybe it’s harsh to say but i seriously cannot stand female dc fans who make shipping their entire personality. it seriously leads to some of the worst internalized misogyny and willful ignorance of misogyny and racism that writers are responsible for on paper and at literally no benefit to anyone bc all the canon does with respect to women is continue to deteriorate. you have female readers who would sooner die on the hill of arguing that a female character’s destiny is to be x male hero’s true love rather than express any interest in who that character is as an individual or admit that the other characters she is in competition with for love are individuals who have their own lives outside of the cat fights overwhelmingly straight male white writers have fabricated purely for their own entertainment. and these readers will pass it off as personal disinterest in a given character or in worse scenarios active dislike due to some heinous character trait that is 9/10 times attributable to character assassination but i really do think it’s a reflection of laziness and anti intellectualism how so few are willing to ever engage with comic canon critically bc they would rather bury their heads in the sand than admit that what they’re reading is the equivalent of cow shit and it is only getting worse

As I've been trying to write that fic we talked about (which is finally a priority now that I've reached stopping points with other stories), I think I've found it why I struggle to come up with and write DOS fics. I don't think I have an accurate gage of Shikako's character. Have you ever struggled with that?

No worries! Shipping to me kinda feels more like personality/sexuality/circumstances puzzles as opposed to, like, a hill I’m willing to die on type of thing. A lot of my most interesting fics are the ones where someone prompts a pairing I never considered which leads me to figure out how such a pairing would work and, again, under what circumstances. It’s very fun :D

Oof, there are some fic that live in my head—not even as plot bunnies but, proto-bunnies. They’re not even ambulatory yet, lol—that will never see the light of day. Most of them involve Naruto and Kakashi. Not because I don’t love them, but because ahhhhh their character voices are SO DIFFICULT FOR ME. Naruto is more difficult than Kakashi because at least with Kakashi I have an idea of how he feels/his main motivation (sad all the time and GOTTA MAKE SURE NO ONE ELSE I LOVES DIES BEFORE I DO) but Naruto is just… O_O I don’t know… what… how do you make decisions, bro?

And this is probably a personality failing on my end but Naruto is just so trusting so often even when there have been so many cases where he shouldn’t be and he pulls the weirdest lessons from certain experiences and he loves to fight and loves jutsu that don’t do anything but cause harm but doesn’t believe in killing even though he lives in a world of shinobi and he wants to be Hokage in order to protect his precious people and he hates war but also he hates the things that a Hokage has to do in peacetime so it’s like… WHAT.

It may also be that he suffers from shounen protagonist syndrome which is that he is more of a force/narrative than a person so any contradictions in his decision making process is because that’s just what Kishimoto needed him to do at any given point.

My struggle with Kakashi is more that while I understand him internally, he’s so good at deflecting and zagging that there’s a strange sort of… layering to his dialogue and behavior that I’ve never quite managed to finesse. Like he says one thing and does another thing but what he ACTUALLY means is neither. It’s very look underneath the underneath

I’d like to think I have a good handle on Shikako’s character although it might be a sort of cyclical me reading DoS (literally the first First Person POV fic I didn’t nope out of after a chapter) and projecting onto Shikako turned into me podficcing DoS and internalizing Shikako which lead to me writing recursive DoS fic and going back to projecting onto recursive Shikako, etc.

Also, unsurprisingly given my ever faithful writer’s block and how I’m no longer as prolific as I used to be, there are a lot of other things I struggle with. For me I don’t think it’s the ideas that are the problem—my brainstorm to actual fic ratio on this blog is out of hand—but it’s the execution of idea into fic that is the worst. Or having cool concepts but not necessarily the background/foundation to manifest them.

Like, speaking of current fic idea that just… won't... just refuse to let me wrangle them... absolutely slip through my fingers...

@loveelemental helped me brainstorm a DoS crossover (won’t say what fandom at the moment) and it would be so dope, but I don’t actually know that other fandom very well even though my brain insists this is the fic it should be writing. Another problem is that, it’s PRIMARILY set in that other fandom AND THEN it’s not even Shikako that is the DoS character!

And I’m just like… WHY IS THIS WHAT MY BRAIN WANTS TO WRITE. WE DON’T KNOW THIS. I ALSO CAN’T COME UP WITH STUFF. EVERYONE IS AN ESTABLISHED CHARACTER WITH A DISTINCT VOICE AND NONE OF THEM ARE SHIKAKO!

So, yeah… the struggle is real.

I also very much enjoy brainstorming collaboratively with people. Often I don’t even think of things until I’m asked a question, so I also appreciate you sending in those Hail to the Queen asks. Legit, the She Who Has Divine Right in which Shikako takes over Haido’s failed invasion force because their literal god chose her over both him and the last of the royal bloodline is EXTREMELY entertaining to me and I don’t think I’d have ever come up with that by myself.

family: right now, none, considering he was disowned a few years ago. Before then he had various shitty relatives in a very large family of nobility that like 1) ran a huge worldwide company 2) participated in national government. Not close at all personally, more like frustrated coworkers than a regular extended family. His parents weren’t actively bad but they were absent most of the time and both had absolutely no interest in raising children, only having had them in the first place because they basically kinda had to. Culture very focused on continuing the family legacy + keeping it strong, as well as competition both within the family and with other ones. Ofc he had his sister Laura, the two of them were very close as children and drifted apart a little as they got older and had very different interests, and then drifted apart hard when Cirillo got promoted and kept selling out to literally anyone who asked. So she got him disowned and also hates him now. At the start of the main story 

birthplace: avarrecia, living in a like fancy mansion estate in the middle of the countryside. lots of rolling hills probably a vineyard. very obnoxious. to be fair though he didn’t much care for it he preferred the cities they would go visit (usually within the country, but sometimes internationally)

job: at the start of the story he’s an old timey telephone switchboard operator, but he quits that very early on to be Rocio’s assistant (it’s officially recognized + he gets paid directly by the government, wizards have people like this all the time). They need one not for like menial grunt work which they love doing but for like, basic communication and interaction with other people. Sometimes advanced interaction. They want to get around both the office politics and actual politics they’re stuck navigating). This was not a wise financial decision for him as the government collapsed like 2 months later so now after the story ends he is unemployed. He can’t even come crawling back to his family because they lost all their money in an unrelated but similarly dramatic incident 

phobias: nothing in particular, unless this just means like general fears? he’s afraid of nebulously being a bad person (

guilty pleasures: anything that makes him feel joy at all is a guilty pleasure. he could feel guilty about anything. someone could be like ugh it’s so cloudy today and he’d be like fuck I can’t believe let them down 😔

traditional/modern: modern for sure, although in this world the concept of that is kind of different, especially since he moved to a different country where the culture and concept of modernity is very different from in his home country. but he likes modern fashion styles, modern technology, tries to get invested in progressive politics + like new societal ideas. he thinks everything in the world can and should be improved in some way. To be clear, he doesn’t blindly support every newly introduced idea obviously this is like. the general trend

hard-working/lazy: despite his best efforts he does not have much of a work ethic for things he is not interested in, but of course if it’s necessary or it literally anyone is there to potentially judge him he’ll do it, so he ends up being hardworking most of the time. but literally only because of peer pressure. and he’ll internally hate every second of whatever it is he’s doing. it’s kind of pathetic it’s because he grew up incredibly like catered to I guess. has few to no life skills. he’s working on it

Most of the times that Adrian comes off as dumb is really just him being socially awkward and kind of weird, not him being actually stupid (which he isn't).

And even things like saying a butterfly is a type of bird...not every person knows every fact! You can't be expected to know something if you were never taught and sometimes silly things go under the radar.

“nobody should assume the member’s sexuality” but the thing is, everybody assumes their straight and will fight tooth and nail to the people who question that. i’m not coming in here to say all members are straight or all members are gay but i am coming on here to say some members just might not all be straight. now what i’m about to say, i already know everyone is going to have a negative reaction to but still, it’s just an example. shipping along the members. everybody is so quick to say they hate anybody who suggests two members of bts are dating or have done something sexual with each other but if you really don’t want to assume their sexualities, why is it such a bad thing people point out some of the queer things they’ve done? there are two members that have done some questionable things that everyone will say “they’re brothers” or “friends so that all the time” but let’s face a fact. they are not blood brothers. if they wanted to be together, they damn wee have every right to be. regardless of anyone’s opinion. they could be just friends, but i definitely do believe they have done something sexual with each other before. because of some of the proof we literally seen from the footage bighit has released. as a queer person myself, there are things i do with people i have a sexual relationship with that i wouldn’t do with my regular close best friends. i am not saying that because i “know” the two members i am talking about are in fact dating but i am saying that if they are, not only would i support them but i wouldn’t really be surprised. i would support them even if they were not dating each other but other men as well as as women. we do not know these men personally. we just know what little things they allow us to know. (not all of the members have came out and said they hated shipping. fan service, yeah but not the shipping. if there is a video or actual proof of each member agreeing or saying please provide a link and prove me wrong! i am open to being proven wrong.) even if they wanted to come out and tell everybody, they’re not like us, they don’t get that privilege. they are not only in the biggest and in the world, and coming out would effect multiple peoples career, but they live in korea. a place that has strong negative feelings about queer people. us on tumblr who write and read theses stories, we use these for our own little fantasies about these men that although we are attracted to, we know we’ll never get to be with them. most stories on here are male x female stories because it allows us to fulfill our little imagination. nothing is wrong with using these men we find attractive as our protagonist but there’s a problem with people believing our stories truly reflect on how the members themselves are. take jungkook for example. 8/10 stories on here, he’s a asshole, fuckboy, red flag. the real jungkook is literally a sweetheart who cried because army made a song for bts. he’s respectful, kind. people believe in their imagination more than they are willing to see the facts. i know religion plays a big part in everyone believing that namjoon, hobi, jin, jungkook, jimin, taehyung, yoongi are all straight and could never be with in a romantic relationship with a man but the truth is, they could be. assuming their gay shouldn’t be such a horrible thing when assuming they’re all straight is such a huge issue. these men could be queer and the only problem is, everybody will deny it until their last breath. with the shipping is kinda goes hand in hand with theses stories. “no you can’t think they could be dating each other! let’s go read about about the members eating pussy instead” that’s kinda homophonic.

the last thing i want to say is i’m not trying to come off as i’m attacking anyone specifically! i am just so tired of seeing so many people say that we should never assume their sexuality unless it’s because they’re straight. majority of fans will die on that hill. i never understood why the shipping was so hated on when the memberxyn was so welcomed. it’s all just in our little imagination. when you believe it has be to be this way or no way, that’s the problem. no, i am not a shopper myself, i was just using that as an example. i will support any member when and if they ever come out. with that being with their sexuality or relationships. with a man or with a women.
