I really appreciate the way gardeners approach this information, its very refreshing coming from an agriculture standpoint. Unfortunately in larger scale agriculture a lot has been skewed and misused in regards to no-till.
Basically, we found out that soil microbes and fungi are more intact and provide plants more nutrients if we don't break up the soil; this also retains a lot of carbon that would be in the atmosphere. This was a pretty big thing and there became legislation to support and pay farmers for more "eco-friendly" farming methods such as no-till. However in agriculture, I don't know whether it was cutting corners, lack of knowledge, lobbying by chemical companies, or all of the above, but no-till isn't done properly to be eco-friendly. To successfully grow food in a no-till/no-dig system the ground generally cannot be bare because weeds will take over. There's also increased risk of fungal disease because the soil isn't broken up. And so no-till must be paired with thoughtful crop rotation and cover crops to prevent weeds and disease. Instead of doing this however, most farmers who "no-till" will cover their fields in herbicide to kill all the weeds, then proceed to plant their crop. This, along with things like Round Up Ready crops, has substantially increased chemical herbicide usage (especially glyphosate). And we're beginning to find that herbicides have a very negative effect on soil microbiomes. So this heavily chemical dependent method of no-till actually isn't beneficial, and may actually be worse than a conventional system that uses tillage but less herbicide. But farmers can get paid for a heavily glyphosate dependent method of no-till because there's no distinguishing between how no-till is done in most programs.

F1 drivers as hockey players
Max : center — my first instinct for Max was wing but it’s hard not to compare him with either McDavid or Matthews, except he gets way more PIM than the two of them (less and less as time goes)
Checo : defense - this one writes itself, mister minestry of defense, def always has a place on PK1, will block a ton of shots just like my beloved EJ
Charles : center — I will take no criticism for that one, the bossy vibes from Jonny Toews (Jonny has been getting fucked by Chicago’s management for years, same as Charles with the Ferrari strategists) but Charles gets the Calder
Carlos : wing — you’ve seen this man play football, he’s crafty and talented, dishes assists but can also finish, thinking Pasta or Mitchy Marner or love of my life Mikko Rantanen
George : defense — I swear I’m not going to put every tall guy in D but listen : Cale Makar trajectory, quarterback of PP1, Calder and Norris and Conn Smythe trophy winner
Lewis : center — tell me Lewis is not the Sidney Crosby of F1, that’s it, that’s my full reasonning here
Esteban : center — two-way forward, good at both ends of the ice, I’ll give you Patrice Bergeron as reference (will also accept D as an option here)
Fernando : goalie — look, I know he’s small and would swim in his goalie pads but he’s sturdy and crazy enough to be a goalie, because he’s been here forever, Tukka Rask will be our point of reference
Lando : wing — talented winger who was overviewed in the first round of the draft because of his size but he proves everybody wrong with a 30+ goals season in his 3rd year, think Alex Debrincat
Daniel : wing — I struggled with Daniel because I think he could play any position but the idea of him on Max’s wing really appealed to me, would definitely pull moves in shootouts, let’s go TJ Oshie, he fits the vibes
Valterri : goalie — listen, I just vibe with the idea of it, think maybe Pekka Rinne, also Finnish, I will find Valterri a twink who will call him daddy, that’s not an issue (please tell me who do you think our Juuse Saros could be)
Zhou : wing — crafty winger, speedy with the funny moves, he would try the Michigan against everyone and you know it, a Trevor Zegras (in spirit, although Z did play wing too in the past)
Kevin : defense — steady sturdy d-man, gives me Duncan Keith in his prime
Mick : wing — look, I know Michael would be Gretzky but I bring to you : the Schumacher/Tkachuk comparison and Mick as Matthew, don’t tell me Mick in his villain era wouldn’t get hella PIM while scoring hella points
Pierre : center — Pierre screams forward to me and I’ll have him at center, the idea of him and Charles centering the first two lines of a team and being on the PP together is pretty to me, I think bitchy Pierre could challenge bitchy Geno but in terms of style he’s probably more of a Nico Hischier
Yuki : defense — Sam Girard, just imagine Yuki doing the tornade, yes, perfect, that’ll be it
Sebastian : center — I could see current Sebastian as a goalie but Red Bull/villain Seb was definitely a forward who would win the Art Ross/Hart/Ted Lindsay in one year and play on a broken ankle in the playoffs like one fellow countryman Leon Draisaitl (which means I also accept winger as a position)
Lance : wing — I do not know what to do with Lance so I put him at wing, maybe he can be like a 3rd liner or a 4th liner grinder, he gets Garnet Hathaway
Alex : defense — Alex/George d-pair!!! they would be so good, Heddy would never die his hair red but think of Alex as Victor Hedman kind of solid
Nicky : center — the fact that I struggled with the Canadians of the grid is terrible, sorry hockey, but he can grind with Lance, Nic Dowd it is

What are some of your favourite movies?
Thank you for the ask! (Don't take the numbers too seriously)
Midnight Cowboy (1969), dir. John Schlesinger - Joe Buck the Texan dishwasher goes to New York to hustle women but falls for the little scammer Rico Rizzo who offers him a place to stay when he in record-speed becomes homeless.
A New Leaf (1971), dir. Elaine May - Henry Graham, a rich man who has been living a very unsustainable lifestyle, is now broke. He wants to find a wife, kill her and then inheret her wealth. He ends up with Henrietta, a rich, family-less, botanist who is also a big clutz. ROMANCE.
Gilda (1946), dir. Charles Vidor - Johnny Farrell (bad bi rep) goes to Argentina and gets rescued from being mugged by the casino owner and tungston cartel boss Ballin Mundson, and starts working for him. One day Ballin has found himself an American wife, Gilda. Surprise, surprise. She's Johnny's ex. Drama. Amazing. Women's rights, as Johnny and Ballin are peak misogynistic.
The Roaring Twenties (1939), dir. Raoul Walsh - Eddie Bartlett returns home from the war and its rough being a veteran. He ends up working for the mob and then teams up with George Hally (who is >:)) and they go right to the top. There's like a love-gemoetrical shape. Jean Sherman, a performer, likes Lloyd Hart (friend of Eddie who works for him) but Eddie wants Jean. The singer Panama Smith yearns for Eddie. George and Eddie are married and divorced at the same time. Amazing. Love it.
Deadhead Miles (1972), dir. Vernon Zimmerman - Alan Arkin and Paul Benedict drive a truck. That's it. The music is great. The dialogue is interesting.
Harvey (1950), dir. Henry Koster - Elwood P. Dowd, a pleasant man living with his sister, has an invisible rabbit friend. People think he is mentally unwell, and his sister wants him put away. Pleasantness prevails! Long live kindness!
3:10 to Yuma (1957), dir. Delmer Daves - Dan Evans must regain his fatherly masculinity, he thinks, after his sons see him willingly hand their horses over to Ben Wade and his gang of outlaws etc etc. Because there's a drought, the Evans family also needs cash (for their little ranch), and so Dan agrees to help get Ben to prison in Yuma, aka. on the 3:10 train to Yuma. In Contention City, Dan and Ben are in the bridal suite, and Ben being a slut temptress tries to bribe Dan with cash into letting him go while >:) on the bridal bed. Amazing. Iconic.
The Wicker Man (1973), dir. Robin Hardy - Police sergeant Neil Howie goes to Summerisle to find the missing girl Rowan. Everybody there are unchristian sluts to Howie's horror. Unbeknownst to him, he is a fool. Very good.
Real Life (1979), dir. Albert Brooks - A fictional version of Albert Brooks wants to make a movie about real life! He gets himself a family and some scientists to study this thing. The problem is that Brooks is not completely stable and well... what is 'real life' on camera. Amazing! Love it!
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978), dir. Philip Kaufman - Aliens are taking over and look just like us. Donald Sutherland and Brooke Adams are so <333333. If you've not seen it, it's kind of fun having seen the 1958 version first (the book isn't all that) so you get the little thing about the man running around all :'0. And, it's a good movie. Both are good.
I have many more. These are the ones I remember now :))) Thank you again :)))

Day 226: Monday August 14, 2023 - "Two Foot 10"
A fun marker of where William was on the growth chart as he started school, is in my shop, next to the dog food, on the drier vent shaft I built. And if you looked here, you'd see, that tonight on the eve of starting Year 2 in Pre-Primary Class, William checked in by Mama's measure at Two Foot Ten Inches. He's grown 5 inches in exactly one year. Only 5 inches?! Looking back, those five inches feel like a couple miles difference, and I suppose a year from now, I'll proudly think exactly the same.
