Summary: In the aftermath of an anxiety induced episode, Yelena finds herself dealing with the more prolonged repercussions of her actions. Even still, she finds herself having a difficult time with allowing the healing process to run its course.
Luckily, she’s got a loving and insistent big sister to help her.
(Acts as a continuation of “I Still Need You” but can be read as it’s own thing)
Word count: 3.8k
Surprise! It’s a new story from the pre IW era with the sisters! Now, I had initially planned being done with that portion and moving forward until.. well.. read the A/N at the end to find out 😅💖
And enjoy 😊💞

Three weeks from today I get to cast aside my ridiculous splint and peg leg in favor of a CAM boot. Halfway therrrrrrrre.
Now, watch me complain about the boot as soon as I get it. 😂
Also found out that the splint I have is called a Bulky Jones, not sure where that name came from but sounds like there’s a story behind it.
I’m kind of afraid my left foot is going to give out by the time I get both legs back. It’s starting to protest bearing 75% or so of my weight all the time.
Speaking of my peg leg. This is it. People comment on it everywhere I go. Even my podiatrist had never heard of it. It’s better than crutches or a scooter especially if you have kids who need you to pick them up and who leave their toys everywhere. It’s not even that much more expensive than most crutches or scooters I saw. If you need to stay off your foot, try this thing.
That’s my good deed for the day, Bum Bum is up from his nap now, gotta go.

A great old photo from about 2005! Not a high quality photo but in 2005 the good cameras were expensive still.

Hammer Toe
What causes hammer toe?
Hammer toe refers to a deformity of the toes wherein the toe is bent in the middle, making it resemble a hammer. This painful condition can be the result of wearing shoes that aggravate your feet, or anything that applies pressure to the toes and makes the muscles and joints tighten.
The most difficult part of dealing with a foot injury is the one step forward, two steps back nature of the healing process. Rest is essential for any injury to heal, but for many people, it isn’t realistic to take an extended amount of time off of your feet. Walking around during the day puts pressure on the injury and keeps it inflamed, which can result in a slower healing process.
The good news is that it is possible to heal from hammer toe without having surgery. Avoiding any footwear or orthotics that puts pressure onto your foot, or that causes discomfort, is often the first step on the road to recovery. If you notice that a particular pair of shoes makes you change your gait, or the way you walk naturally, or if it causes any discomfort, that may indicate that those shoes aren’t necessarily the healthiest for your feet.
Heal hammer toe for good
The best solution out there to heal hammer toe is to use King Brand Healthcare Products. The BFST is a FDA-approved medical device that uses electromagnetic energy to increase blood flow in the area that you treat, which heals the muscles, tendons, and ligaments. By using it 3-4 times daily, you can recover from hammer toe without surgery.

Booty strut
Tumblr media
Zarya cuts open one of her feet 22 days ago. Thought I should take a photo of her purple bootie. Taking photos for Tumblr and Instagram isn't a priority at the moment since she's a bit sharp, and not in a fearful way either. She's fine once she engages her brain and investigate.
