a bit of an appreciation post to everyone who asked for a code??? I'm yapping.

that is. a baffling(is it baffling? ive never seen triple digit codes but maybe this is normal) amount of toy house codes

Ok I'm going to do math here. I'm rounding up to an even 500 codes since the 500th code was given to a friend like within 3 days of me making the blog and inspired me to make it.

500 codes, with 2 new codes per week is 250 weeks. 250 weeks is 4.8 years for the codes I have not generated.

For total codes I have ever given, I have 5 pages of generated codes, with 100 codes per page, with the final page having 86. Taking my remaining 134 codes, I have had a total of 620 codes, totaling almost six years of premium to get that many codes.

Getting codes was my main reason to get premium since the site has been invite only since I joined in 2017. And now that I've gotten into web coding, having premium to attempt CSS and possibly make my own profile codes is incredibly exciting!!

And that's not to mention that people sell the codes, too. Codes for art means you're asking for people to undersell their art/you're underselling your own art. Codes for money is... Dubious as hell. Minimum premium is 1 month at 4.95 USD, which is 4 weeks, which is 8 codes. That makes 1 code worth 0.61 USD. NOBODY'S art is worth less than a dollar.

I've had "ask me for a toyhouse code" on my main tumblr, my artfight, and my toyhouse itself, but I've never had THIS LEVEL of interaction for any post I've made offering codes. It's made me super happy to finally give out these codes en masse and for people to be happy. I didn't think I would get even 30 asks. I have gotten over 360.

I discovered some of my favourite writeblrs by reading their work here.

@tcstu– monthly picture prompt competition. Again, a wonderful host with wonderful feedback! These prompts are all so unique—each coming from a featured artist getting a chance to spotlight their work! I was lucky to win the February round with this piece.

@sulfurousdreamscapes – one of the first writeblrs I stumbled across and one of my all-time favourites.  Rahul’s talent is insane! His ability to craft entire worlds in very few words and his flexibility with POVs and themes always leaves me awed and incredibly jealous! Each day brings a new story that is vivid, well-crafted and totally unlike the one before. I would have a lot of trouble picking a favourite from Rahul’s work (as they are all so good!) but two that have still stuck with me (even after reading them over a year ago) can be found here and here. If all this wasn’t enough, his Mirrorscapes blog is incredibly supportive of other writers and is a showcase of others amazing and inspiring work.

@pied-piper-of-hamlet fits both the flash and WIP section’s here. I am in love with their OC Maya from Burying Deceit, this piece is a tiny example of what a badass she is! (blood and violence tw). PLUS their flash work is amazing too, I still think about this piece often!

@hyba —Ohhhhh where to begin!! Writing advice, flash fics, amazing WIPs AND a podcast—Hyba has it all! Not to mention a wonderful side blog @writeblrcabinetofwonders that showcases other writers’ amazing works! Every piece that comes from with writer is well worth the read, but a couple that have stuck with me can be found here and here.

@alexwillow —As if hosting an amazing prompt page wasn’t enough, Alex also writes incredible flash! Two of my favourites in particular can be found here and here.

@projecthypershort​ —These tiny stories pack a punch! A new hyper-short piece is posted each day—each one rich in worldbuilding and story telling, whilst being economical on words. Amazing writing! One of my absolute faves is this one.

Every snippet of The Traveller’s Gift and The Reaper’s Curse that I have read is full of immersive, vivid details and imbued with such strong characterisation. I’m completely invested in Louis and Slater’s journey and can’t wait to read both works in full one day! 😊 ❤️ One of my favourite snippets from The Reaper’s Curse can be found here and another scene (which I know is a POV switch—but still sticks with me) can be found here.

@cirianne​ —Chasing Demons on Wattpad // Chasing Demons on Tumblr —my newest obsession!! I’m totally in awe of Sara’s writing, Chasing Demons is the perfect urban fantasy work—full of action, mystery, sassy dialogue and tangible characters. I’ve been sucked into Anna’s world and am loving it!

@aelenko​ —Sound Carries on Wattpad  I am so impressed by (and jealous of) Abby’s ability to continuously create amazing works! The prose in Sound Carries is so incredibly immersive and the characters/plot so intriguing, that there is no helping getting wrapped up in the secrets of the Conolly Institute. Amazing read!

@the-scum-initiative​ —The S.C.U.M Initiative 01 on Wattpad Kfyaris has built a rich and intriguing post-apocalyptic world that is too easy to get absorbed into! TSI01′s large cast is full of solid characterisation, with diverse and compelling backgrounds driving strong motivations and palpable tension. The high-stakes action makes it tough to stop reading—such amazing writing! 🔥

Bobby usually leaves the songwriting to Luke. It’s just better for everyone that way, most of all Luke’s ego, because Luke likes to have creative control over the songs of Sunset Curve (even if he claims it’s a “collaborative process”), and if anyone ever tries to infringe upon that control, Luke gets all pouty and won’t shut up about how Reggie’s songs are too country or how Alex’s songs are too depressing or how Bobby’s songs are too—

“Boring,” is usually the word Luke goes with. “Stilted,” sometimes, if Luke can tell Bobby’s not in the mood to be insulted. “Robotic.” “Impersonal.” “Unemotional.” “Bad.”

So anyway, Bobby eventually gave up on trying. Until today, because he and Luke have been doing this… whatever it is they’re doing (not dating, Bobby doesn’t think; they haven’t really talked about it, and Bobby’s not big on labels anyway) for a month now, and Bobby feels like he has to do something to commemorate the occasion.

So right now, he’s seated on the studio couch with a notebook he used for biology last year so it’s still half-empty, and he’s trying to write a song that can express just how much Luke means to him without it coming out sounding like he’s a “pop music lackey hired for the sole purpose of writing whatever lyrics will best appeal to a demographic of twelve-year-old girls and their dissatisfied mothers” (and yes, that’s another thing Luke has said right to Bobby’s face. He’s lucky Bobby loves him or whatever).

He’s got about a verse and a half so far, and he doesn’t think any of it is any good. But he’s already started over eight times, so he’s trying to push through.

Something hard—a pen, he thinks—hits Bobby in the arm, and he shoots a glare across the room at where Luke is lounging in the lawn chair, chewing on a guitar pick and grinning salaciously at him.

Oh, yeah. And it doesn’t help that Bobby’s trying to write an emotional, non-robotic love song while Luke’s sitting right there looking at him. 

“What?” Bobby snaps, trying to sound harsh. He doesn’t think it works, if the way Luke’s grin only widens is anything to go by.

“What are you doing?” Luke kicks his feet through the air. “You’re looking at that notebook like it owes you money or something. What, is your homework that hard?”

“It’s not homework,” Bobby says, looking back down at the notebook in his lap, then winces, feeling a blush start to creep up his neck. He curses mentally. Now Luke’s gonna ask questions.

“What is it, then?” Luke’s voice is bright with childish curiosity. “A letter? A diary?” He gasps dramatically. “Robert Eleanor Bobbins, are you writing a song?”

Bobby looks up again, momentarily distracted. “You want to try that full name one more time?”

Luke ignores him. “Come on, Bobbers!” He vaults out of his chair. “Let me take a look! You know, some say I’m the songwriting expert around here.”

Bobby rolls his eyes. “Oh, yeah? And who says that, Luke? You?”

It’s so easy to tease Luke like this, to banter back and forth like it’s nothing (some might even call it flirting, but Bobby likes to think he’s above such mortal activities). Unfortunately, it’s so easy that Bobby doesn’t even really notice that Luke has crossed the room until the notebook is being unceremoniously yanked out of Bobby’s hands.

“Hey, wait, no—!” he tries to protest, but Luke spins away, lifting the notebook out of Bobby’s reach every time he tries to grab it back. “Luke!” Bobby groans, even as he gives up and sinks back into the couch, crossing his arms over his chest and doing what he thinks is a pretty good imitation of Luke’s infamous Pout. “Fine, just don’t—don’t read the last line, okay? It’s not done yet.”

So of course, Luke immediately reads the last line, an impish grin lighting up his features in the dim studio. “So touch my hair, you gorgeous boy, and…” His voice fades, and his smile right along with it. “And… never let me go…”

Bobby’s face is burning. He swallows, starts to reach for his necklace, stops himself and settles for fiddling with his hands in his lap. He refuses to look away from Luke, though, refuses to be shamed. “Yeah, uh…” He clears his throat. “I was just, you know… trying something.”

Luke cuts his gaze to Bobby, and his expression is terrifyingly unreadable, and then. Then, he beams, an even wider grin spreading across his face, and he says, “Aw, Bobbers! You’re in love with me!”, and tosses Bobby’s notebook aside, and throws himself onto the couch into Bobby’s arms.

Bobby’s startled yelp is soon swallowed by Luke’s lips. He relaxes, pulling Luke closer, smiling into his kiss. And Luke cards his hands through Bobby’s hair and doesn’t let him go.

So maybe Bobby should try his hand at this songwriting thing more often. Apparently, he’s actually pretty good at it.

OPEN HEART: SECOND YEAR CHAPTER 12

I have already written this post but Tumblr had the audacity to delete it. So here we go again 

The first exchange between Mc and Ethan in the hospital was adorable. Since Ethan opened up to us in the last chapter we have seen a WHOLE different side to Ethan and I love it. When the heart rate monitor started accelerating because Mc and Ethan were talking, I DIED. It just goes to show how powerful their love is. “It’s okay if you need more time”, this man is really out here trying to kill me for the 500th time.

Rafael stans were spoilt today. I know they didn’t get the chance to have a 30 diamond scene with him (at least I don’t think they did). Considering the fact only a few chapters ago he was meant to be abandoning everyone to move to Brazil or somewhere like that, I think they did well today. Raf’s grandma is one of the best characters introduced into Open Heart (behind our angel Bobby obviously). She is your typical grandparent with the array of food and drink and the embarrassed grand child XD. When she said that we saved her beautiful boy and then Mc replied that they saved eachother, I understood why so many people romance him because that was adorable. Mc and Rafael’s friendship has to be one of my favourites they are so sweet with each other. Unfortunately, I was an idiot and didn’t buy the diamond scene. The only reason I didn’t get it was because it was so early in the chapter and I didn’t know what other content we were going to get. I will probably replay it and buy the diamond scene but let me know what happened during the walk.

Mc getting ready for the memorial was so sad. I thought our landlord Farley sending flowers was so so sweet. I have got to say that I LOVED the diamond dress that was on offer. Obviously, I had to get it because I had to look good for our boys on their day. I have got to give all the credit to @playchoices because I think they did an unbelievable job with the memorial. They really gave Bobby and Danny a funeral fit for kings!

The first screenshot broke me. The caskets with the boys in and the flowers on top, I miss them already. To make it even more sad, I had ‘Hold On’ by Chord Street on in the background and if you have listened to that song you know how bad that combination is. Bryce telling the story about them was so heartwarming and one of the many reasons we all love Bryce whether you are romancing him or not. That boy is an angel. Our poor baby Elijah really struggled during the ceremony and all I wanted to do was give him a big hug. He deserves the world and we must protect him at ALL costs. Him saying he has been to ‘too many of these’ was so so sad, I feel like we deserve more of his backstory because I have a feeling it is a lot worse than we originally thought. I know that this sounds heartless but I do want to mention how amazing all the men looked in their suits. Especially Ethan, this man rocks anything and everything. Laying the orchids on their caskets, made me sob. I don’t even know why their memorials hurt me so bad.

Daniel Cardinal and Robert Gunderson. We will miss you. ❤️

Ok, I just want to say that I thought that Mc and Aurora discussing the hospitals finances during the reception was kinda rude and disrespectful. I know it was probably key in the development of the story but it would have been nicer to hear stories about the boys rather than Edenbrook and Mass Kenmore. But anyway, the conversation between Sienna and Mc was so cute but so heartbreaking. When she started saying that she always thought her and Danny would become something more, I broke down. This girl deserves happiness so much especially after her ex. And Danny was that happiness but unfortunately she will never be able to experience that relationship 😞.

Ethan looking into our literal soul was very sexy if I do say so myself. The way he can just look at Mc and know exactly what she is thinking just goes to show how powerful their relationship is.And then this man had the audacity to raise his hand in our face to silence us. I didn’t know if I wanted to slap him or marry him right there and then. Did anyone else have that issue? Just me? Ok.

One thing I loved about this episode is the choice between who you wanted to leave with and the fact it wasn’t a diamond scene. This is what we like to see. I chose Ethan because... well I don’t think I need to explain why. Just so you all know he was going to leave an hour before but didn’t because Mc was still there. if that isn’t true love, then what is. 

Ethan is not ok people. When he started to explain that he was scared to leave Mc alone incase he wasn’t there to save her, my jaw dropped. He has never opened up THAT much before. I thought I was ready for it but then me tell you I was not. I know that countless times during this scene he wanted to say that he was in love with Mc but wasn’t ready. Honestly, I am ok with that. For now. I feel like we should wait a little longer (emphasis on the little) for a more sentimental moemnt. Like on our first date or even in the hospital where they first met. I have a feeling that he is just going to end up saying it without thinking about it, like a reflex and I wouldn’t mind that happening either.

Finally, we move onto the diamond scene. This was the best 30 diamond scene we have had with Ethan. It was unbelievable. “The idea that I’d never touch you again... it was almost more than I could bear”. I am not even going to comment on that quote because it explains itself. Just know that I did indeed scream. Like actually scream. We got a glimpse of angry Ethan which so happens to be my second favourite Ethan after cute Ethan. Him being angry because he didn’t want people thinking Mc slept her way onto the diagnostics team shows how much he respects her career. Get you a man that respects both you and your job. The freaking windows steamed up. The power can not be matched. So I did choose the option to straddle him but let me tell you I did not choose that lightly. I was so close to picking the option of going into the back seat. “Trust me, I have many more tricks up my sleeve”, bitch I am not READY for the other 30 diamond scenes we better be receiving. Obviously, I don’t need to go into TOO much detail because we all know what happened, if you actually played the scene. Just know it was a great experience.

To make the experience better ( if that is even possible ). I chose the option that led to Ethan begging. Yes, you heard that right. BEGGING. I feel so evil yet so good at the same time 😋. Again I would like to personally thank @playchoices for that 30 diamond scene. It was unforgettable. But let’s be real, we deserve it after what we have been through.

I don’t remember Farley being this sweet but that man is so cute. I hope that everything works out for him at hospital. But I am excited/nervous to see how the memories and PTSD of the attack impacts Mc going back to the hospital. One thing that makes me less nervous is knowing my man Ethan will be there to support me. I know he said that at work he is still our boss but like just imagine how cute the scenes will be between them now. Ugh, imagine them meeting up after a long shift and walking out of the hospital hand in hand. Can’t freaking wait.

This chapter again was so so well written, I hope Choices keep up with this quality because it’s been amazing. I’m praying that they don’t forget to mention Danny and Bobby though, especially after a few chapters. I hope they remember to give them mentions because they were big infuences on Edenbrook and they don’t deserve to be forgotten. I just want to add that I am sorry that this is late, like I said before I had already written this and had it ready to post but then Tumblr did a mad one and deleted it. I am sorry if it seems rushed or I have forgotten something but I tried XD. As usual let me know your opinions and feelings about the new chapter and thank you so much for all the recent love on my posts. I am unbelievably grateful! ❤️

Hi!! I may or may not have reverse searched one of your Darklina fanfictions from the "Start a War" series to find your tumblr since it's different from your AO3 username hehe. I just wanted to say from the year Start a War was first posted to now, I constantly revisit the story whenever I need a good cry or a good read (often times both). I've read your entire "Start a War" series from start to finish multiple times, to the point where I've literally forgotten what canon is (I read the Grisha-

2/2 -verse series right before reading your fic, and I've come to the conclusion that yours is canon. Regardless, just wanted to come on here to say that you're a brilliant writer and you should watch Shadow&Bone on Netflix. Ben Barnes as the Darkling invoked new feels in me and now I find myself rereading your fic again, for what feels like the 500th time. No pressure but if the show inspires you, the entire fandom would cry to read more Darklina works. I don't have Tumblr, but cue me constantly r-

Yesterday in drop ins the guys put together the most fucking stacked team I have ever seen. They had youth representants from Phillipines, Hawaii, Japan and Hongkong, like people with ORIGINAL DRESSES with THEIR NAMES on them next to THEIR COUNTRIES’ FLAGS. Those plus another guy that had to have at least 2 meters. This was for a CASUAL PRACTICE GAME for the GENERAL PUBLIC. Honestly I feared for my life on the other side of the net. We didn’t get our collective asses kicked as badly as I thought we would but I had to switch out as the setter cuz I was doing a really bad job :D. I had a big Hinata moment when I touched the Japanese guy’s spike while blocking and one of the guys on my team went “whoa, she actually touched that, must mean he didn’t see you”. I’m not sure how to feel about that xD

Also we had two 14-year old brothers just our games. They were really good, and tall for their age too, the funniest part though was that no matter what you did, you were always the moral loser.

It was either “dude, you just got aced by a 14-year old” or “dude, you’re 22, why are you blocking a 14-year old”. You lost either way. Not to mention those guys were SAVAGE. The kids are alright.

I played some games with the guy I have a crush on. Just standing on the court was like a cardio exercise in itself, my heart was racing at 150bpm just by being on the same court. I’m most definitely a disaster bi. I got on a service ace streak and every highfive and every “wooo, the serve that can’t be stopped” from him made every fucking morning last year when I would wake up at 6am to go practice serves in an empty gym so worth it. This practice is going into my happy memory stash to dig up when I’m in not so good places.

Writing/Art Update 5/26/2020:

Hey hey hey happy Tuesday!

Wow, last week was wild. First of all, I finished a very schmoopy story about kiddie soccer that you can read here. Part Two is done and I trust you can just hit the next button to see it, but I’m linking to the Part One post because it features amazing @kaickos illustrations and I need everyone to see them and admire them. Also, I, a dumbass who barely knows one language, managed to translate the title of Renji’s book, and it was really fun. This is all part of @kaickos ‘s long con to make me learn kanji. It is basically working.

I made some good progress on the Friend Art I’ve been working on, and I am now just waiting for some feedback from said Friend, so that’s good. I’ve been doing a lot of drawing for my Zanpakutou Rebellion Arc recaps, which is less time to do drawing-drawings, but it’s been very good practice, so I’m happy.

Worked a teensy bit on the Ginrei story last week and also this Inuzuri story that I won’t be able to post for a million years, but get compelled to work on every time a Mike Doughty song comes on Spotify.

I hit my 500th follower this past weekend, and on a whim, I took drabble suggestions all weekend. I was honestly very proud of how quickly I was able to turn them around, even if I did a horrific job of sticking to the word limit that I, myself, set. I still have a few left to do, but we’re back in the school week, so I’ve slowed down a bit, but I’m confident I should be able to finish them all by next weekend at the lastest). Here’s my dumb ulterior motive: I now have enough drabbles that I can collect them and toss them up on AO3 instead of letting them get lost in the trash heap of Tumblr. I’m not going to link to all the ones I’ve written so far, but you can look at my 500 follower drabble weekend tag . Thank you very much to everyone who wrote in with suggestions, this was very, very fun for me. Most of my writing is very... marathon-like, and it’s nice to do some sprints once in a while.

By the way, I hope you all know you can ask me to do stuff, like, whenever, right? I am a huge sucker and I crave the approval of strangers on the internet. The worst I’ll do is politely say no if it’s something way outside my wheelhouse.

Imagine this, a short, blonde, salty child joins Tumblr bc her sister kept showing her hilarious content from the site. She creates a blog that she has absolutely 0 clue what to do with. She just knows that her fave show in the whole world is The 100 so she decides to join that fandom. This happens at the same time a beautiful, hilarious, Bitchy™️ child is 1 away from 500 followers. You were the very first blog I followed (and then Tess) and I was your 500th. I remember how amazing I thought you were. Blog crush lvl. 500 (see what I did there?) And I remember how terrified I was to message you bc you were on another plane of existence. But now I know that that’s still true but now I’m lucky enough to call you my friend. Movie Odyssey milestones

Happy Sunday (or early Monday) everyone. 

For those of you who didn’t know, this is a classic film blog (the definition of “classic” is flexible, but it’s essentially older movies). The soul of this blog are my write-ups on films I’ve never seen before, tagged “My Movie Odyssey” (the index is here).

As of this evening, this blog sits at 598 full-length movie write-ups. Write-up #599 will be the 600th movie I will have written on - The Battle of Chile, Part 1 and Part 2 (1975/’76, Chile) were combined into one; I should not have done that in retrospect - and that will go to the live-action/stop-motion animation hybrid musical Tom Thumb (1958), directed by George Pal and starring Russ Tamblyn.

Write-up #600 is up in the air. I’ve narrowed it down to two 2010s movies:

A Movie Odyssey Retrospective on Monsieur Lazhar (2011, Canada). In a Montreal elementary school, an Algerian-Canadian immigrant teacher is chosen to replace a teacher who committed suicide in her classroom. Together, he and his students attempt to heal from their respective, haunting pasts - together. It’s one of my favorite movies of this decade, and one that I saw before this blog was created (hence, the “Retrospective”... usually, I write on films I’ve never seen before). Can be narratively clunky, but this film is remarkable how it treats everyone involved and their feelings.

A write-up on Polish-British animated co-production Loving Vincent (2017). A family friend of the recently-deceased Vincent van Gogh is hired to deliver one of Vincent’s letters to his brother, Theo, after several previous failed attempts to have the letter delivered. Instead, the mailperson finds himself engaging in an investigation over Vincent van Gogh’s final days. Loving Vincent is the first-ever fully-painted animated feature - 65,000 frames requiring 853 different portraits were used. Storytelling issues aside, you’ve never seen anything like this before.

Previously, A Boy Named Charlie Brown (1969) was the 500th movie I had written on. Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015) was the subject of write-up #500. Twenty-three months is the longest amount of time I have taken to complete another set of 100 write-ups (mental health issues, personal leave, major sporting events, grad school, other reasons) - despite that, I think the writing of those last hundred have been better than the past sets of hundreds.

Tumblr isn’t really like my diary/journal, but I guess it can be..anyway here is the rundown..also happy 500th post to me.

I was running off of a different account because I didn’t like that my name was on Tumblr. I don’t know lol, I used to think that like it was wrong of me to be on here, but now I kind of feel like my Tumblr is almost my most authentic digital presence.

Update on my life- I think the last actual post I put on here that was about me was like the end of 2016. So since 2017 has began this is what I have learned lol

Some people will only use you for their own interests

If a relationship has to be “hush-hush” and like undetected, it more than likely is toxic or synthetic

It’s good to give second chances. 

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, that’s what you do. People only deserve two chances. If he didn’t change the second time, he won’t the third.

Go on self discoveries, there are various aspects to your personality. They all are a part of you so get to know yourself. Get to know the confident side of you, the side of you that is sad, the sad of you that is out for blood.

EVERYONE IS A SNAKE. I AM. YOU ARE. WE ALL HAVE THE CAPABILITY TO HURT. 

Karma is real. She has great memory and even better ways to play payback.

It’s okay to not be okay, life is all about the ups, downs, and the valleys in between.
