“Oh, come on, Y/N! Admit it!”
“You're talking nonsense, Cabaji!” You were sitting in an awning on a keg sipping beer. “I don't care about him!”
“Really? I thought you like him.” Cabaji shrugged. “There was some harbor girl coming out of his quarters this morning, barely able to walk. I think you should stop this outrage already, Y/N. You must leave his cabin without being able to walk!”
You choked. "Are you out of your mind? He's my captain, I'm not going to sleep with him!" You started to blush.
“But why? You're an acrobat. I think he'll like it!” Cabaji laughed loudly.
You lost in your thoughts. You joined the Buggy Pirates a few months ago, and became an acrobat on his circus team. To be honest, running off with Captain Clown seemed like a good idea. Your family didn't understand your fascination with the circus and tried to force you to learn a boring profession. You were drawn to the magic of the circus all your life. You liked the smell of candy popcorn. You loved hearing the laughter and applause of the audience. What you didn't like was that after a few months you realized you had feelings for the captain. No, no! A grown man who paints himself as a clown. But the more often you saw him, the more you realized that the sight of him gave you a light electric shock. You tried to avoid making eye contact with him or standing next to him. Every time your captain passed by, touched you, you blushed, and it seemed to you that the whole team already knew about your feelings.
“Okay. Let's take another round!” You sipped your beer, spun off the keg, and picked up your knives. “I'll beat you this time.”
“You haven't been able to beat me since day one on the ship, Y/N!” Cabaji laughed.
“Go to hell! I can do it!” You took the knife firmly in your hand and hurled it at the board.
“Ha! You missed! Loser!” Cabaji sipped his beer, walked over to you, patted you on the shoulder, and threw the knife. “See! Right on target! Who is the winner? Cabaji is the winner!” He pointed at himself with his index fingers.
“You must have thrown a knife at someone the first thing you did as soon as you were born, otherwise I don't understand where such marksmanship comes from!” You waved your hands and shrieked loudly. “Oh, I know! I need a target! We had cabbage for Richie here. Go get it!”
Cabaji shrugged his shoulders and quickly ran off to get the cabbage and went back inside. “Now what am I supposed to do with these sprouts!” He asked in surprise.
“Fix it on a board. I'll imagine it's our Captain Buggy's head, and I'll throw knives at him!” You twirled the knife in your hands with a proud look.
“I told you like him!” Cabaji succeeded and nailed a cabbage sprout to the board.
“He's my…I don’t li..” You swung the knife. “....ke him! Yes! I hit it!”
“The sprouts take up half the board, of course you hit it!” He gave you another knife.
“Oh, Y/N, you like him!” You started imitating Cabaji's voice. “I don't love him! Captain pisses me off! He an...” You took aim and threw another knife. “...noys me!” Another knife. “Walks around his ship like he's king of the world. The fucking king who is always whining!”
“Uh... Y/N!” Cabaji cleared his throat.
“Oh, my beer's too cold. Y/N, get me a new bottle from the fridge!” You threw another knife with anger. “Get it yourself! You can detach your fucking arm and send it to the fridge!”
“Y/N!” Cabaji tried to get your attention.
“Ooh, my omelet is too cold. Y/N, heat it up!” You picked up another knife from the ground and threw it at the cabbage. “I wasn't hired to be your fucking cook, asshole!”
“Y/N!!!!” Cabaji shouted. “Hush!”
“What?” You snapped back. “What's he going to do to me? He's just a fucking cabbage on the board. What do you think? I bet if he was standing behind me right now, he'd start whining about something.” You noticed Cabaji's gaze looking somewhere behind your shoulder. “He's standing behind me now, isn't he?”
He slowly nodded.
You blushed and turned around. “Good evening, Captain!” You slowly looked up. Seeing first his boots, then his clothes, then his red lips, red nose, green eyes, and blue hair. “And we are... We…”
Buggy crossed his arms and stared at you intently. “Having fun, huh?” He shifted his gaze to Cabaji.
“Yeah, relaxing after the show. Throwing knives and talking.” You said quietly.
"I noticed." He said rather dryly and took off his coat.
The first thing you saw were pumped up arms, and you got a little out of breath.
“May I join you?” Buggy walked over to Cabaji who was pulling knives out of a cabbage and took one.
“Sure!” You started to blush and looked away from him.
“Do we have any bets?” Buggy asked, rubbing the hilt with his hand.
“No. Just for fun. Not playing for anything.” You tried to sound calm.
“No interest in playing for anything. I suggest a case of beer.” Buggy threw the knife, and it hit right in the middle of the sprout. “Looks like one point behind me, huh? Cheesecake, your turn!” He smiled slightly and held the knife out to you.
You gently took the edge of the handle, trying not to touch Buggy's hand, and stood in front of the target. You began to swing.
“No, no. My cheesecake, you're holding the knife wrong.” Buggy came up behind you, putting one hand on your wrist. “Take it a little to the right.” He gently moved your hand in the right direction. Your heart began to pound faster.
Buggy brought his face close to your ear and said quietly, “Now throw it!”
You gulped and threw the knife at the cabbage.
“See! Almost hit it!” Buggy adjusted his white glove, sipped from your bottle, and turned back to you. “Let's do it again!” He handed you the knife and stood behind you again. “Take your hand back.” Buggy put his hand on your wrist and lightly touched your waist with the fingers of the other. “And throw!”
You froze for a second, feeling the warmth of his hand on your waist.
“Cheesecake? Throw it!” He ran his hand lightly over your side.
“Oh yeah, I'm throwing it!” You threw the knife at the target but missed s little.
“That's better already! Cabaji, your turn!” Buggy sat down on the keg and sipped your beer again.
Cabaji shrugged, picked up a knife from the ground, threw it and hit the target.
“Good for you! Now it's my turn! Watch how the real masters throw knives!” Buggy mewled, picked up a knife from the cabbage, stood close to you, and threw it towards the board.
You tried your best to hide your admiration and refused to admit that this whole situation was turning you on a bit.
“Cheesecake! Your turn!” Buggy nodded his head at you. Cabaji wanted to walk over to you to help steady your hand, but the captain tsked at him. Buggy walked over to you and took your hand again, with his other hand he had already hugged you tighter and pulled you closer to his chest. Goosebumps ran through your body. You felt like you could feel every beat of his heart through your vertebrae.
“Aim more precisely.” Buggy looked at you over your shoulder. You cast a glance with the edge of your eye and immediately averted your eyes. He literally drilled you with his gaze, and began stroking his hand down your back.
“Jesus!” It went through your head.
You took a deep breath, covered your eyes and threw the knife.
“Ha! You got it!” Buggy clapped his hands together happily.  "Hey, is someone keeping score?" He asked, looking back at Cabaji.
“No, captain.” Cabaji shrugged.
“Okay, we’re gentlemen! Let's let the cheesecake win, right?” Buggy picked up the knife from the ground, stood behind you, and pressed closer. “Go ahead yourself, Y/N.” He placed both hands on your waist and pulled you closer.
You didn’t quite understand how to throw a knife in such a position when all you could think about was how close he was standing.
Buggy started stroking your waist, and you didn’t notice how you twitched slightly.
“What's happened?” Buggy asked as he looked at you, placing one hand on your hip.
“Nothing. I'm afraid I'll lose your beer. Captain!” You giggled idiotically, trying to hide your increasing breathing in every possible way. You exhaled, tried to straighten your shoulders and snuggled closer. You pulled your hand back and glanced at Buggy, who didn’t seem to notice that he had already lowered his second hand to your thigh.
You narrowed your eyes and dropped the knife.
"You won, little cheesecake!" Buggy smiled widely and moved his hands to your waist.
“But we didn’t even keep score!” You carefully placed your palms on his.
"I'm the captain here. I said you won, that means you won!" Buggy rested his chin on the top of your head. "Okay. Time to go back to the ship. Let's go, cheesecake, I'll treat you to beer!" He abruptly removed his hands, grabbed his coat, winked at you and walked out.
“I’m telling you for sure, soon you will have difficulty leaving his cabin!” Cabaji collected the knives from the ground and from the cabbage, and grinned.
“I wish...” You whispered.
“What?” He asked again.
“Nothing. Let's go. He's probably waiting for us near the tent.”
In the morning, you really left Buggy's cabin. And judging by the faces of the crew, everyone heard you shout the captain's name loudly several times during the night.

Potential spoilers below the cut, but a super interesting article.
Some non-spoiler pull quotes:
Tom is my producing partner in a true sense. Before we had any writers or directors, it was Tom and I for months building this story out. We had a 30-page document that was like, This is what the show is: TVA, He Who Remains — even Victor Timely was in that first document years ago. And it’s just carried through. -- This is maybe — not maybe — this is the first Marvel series to never have any additional photography. The story that is on screen is the story we set out to make. -- We were casting, and “Everything Everywhere All at Once” was playing in L.A. and in New York, but it hadn’t gone nationwide yet. I think it was going the very next week. We had gotten a call from our casting director who said, “Hey, I’m about to put together a list for OB — just initial thoughts. But before I do that, I really think you guys should meet Ke, and I think it should be Ke. I think you guys should meet with him quick, because probably by Monday, he’s going to have a lot of offers for different things.”
Of the eight live-action TV shows that Marvel Studios has produced for Disney+ to date, only one has concluded with the explicit promise of a second season: That would be “Loki,” the outrageously entertaining series about Tom Hiddleston’s god of mischief and his metaphysical exploits in the Time Variance Authority.
It turns out, those plans were already in the works before a second of “Loki” had ever streamed. As executive producer Kevin Wright explains to Variety, he and Hiddleston began talking about Season 2 of the show while in production on the third episode of Season 1.
“As we were shooting the ‘Lamentis’ episode, Tom and I started having lots of conversations about how this world could build out, how we dive deeper into it,” he says. “A large part of what we wanted to do was not trying to repeat ourselves, and not try to play the hits.” At the same time, he adds, they also wanted to make sure didn’t start Season 2 by “fast-forwarding through the drama” of the Season 1 finale.
And so much happened in that finale. To recap: Loki and his variant-turned-potential-soulmate Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) arrive at the end of time, where they meet the creator of the TVA, He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors) — the variant of the supervillain Kang who won a massive multiversal war. To prevent future Kangs from emerging, He Who Remains has used the TVA to maintain a single, sacred timeline — pruning away trillions of potential lives in the process. He gives Sylvie and Loki an impossible choice: Replace him as the head of the TVA, or kill him and bring forth an infinite number of Kangs.
Loki wants the first option; Sylvie wants the second. She wins, kills He Who Remains, and boots Loki back to an alternate version of the TVA, where previous compatriots Mobius (Owen Wilson) and Hunter B-15 (Wunmi Mosaku) don’t remember ever meeting him.
Variety has screened the first four (of six) episodes of “Loki,” and without spoiling anything, Season 2 picks up pretty much exactly where the first season left off — before then charting its own storytelling path. The full cast has returned, including Gugu Mbatha-Raw as former TVA judge Ravonna Renslayer and Eugene Cordero as TVA functionary Casey. And Majors returns as well as He Who Remains, in addition to another Kang variant, a 19th century inventor named Victor Timely. They’re joined by new actors including Kate Dickie (“Game of Thrones”), Rafael Casal (“Blindspotting”) and recent Oscar-winner Ke Huy Quan as TVA technician Ouroboros, aka “OB.”
Behind the scenes, there have been some changes from Season 1. The series’ original director Kate Herron and head writer Michael Waldron both stepped back to focus on other projects. In their places, “Moon Knight’s” Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead have stepped in as lead directors, and Season 1 writer Eric Martin stepped up as head writer for Season 2.
Tumblr media
To delve into the second season of “Loki,” Wright talked with Variety about casting Quan just before his performance in the multiverse spectacular “Everything Everywhere All at Once” changed the actor’s life forever; what the future of “Loki” the show and Loki the character might be following Season 2; and how Majors’ arrest in March for assault did (or did not) affect their plans for Season 2.
What were the discussions like about how to approach Season 2?
I think we had to just keep reminding ourselves that the TVA is a great world, let’s live in the drama of what we’re creating there. Which means not fast-forwarding through the drama that they just decided to stop pruning timelines, but also staying in the emotional turmoil that Loki and Sylvie are coming into this season with.
Also, there were certain things in Season 1 that felt like they were maybe a risk, and we didn’t know how the audience would respond. Once we realized that they embraced it, it felt like a lot of freedom to go further.
What did you feel was a risk?
In a very early draft of the script that Michael Waldron had written, that first Time Theater conversation between Mobius and Loki was maybe a couple of pages. And then a lot of other big Marvel-y action things happened afterwards, and we all went, “That’s not the interesting stuff. This Time Theater conversation is interesting. That’s what the show could be.” If we are really diving into the character-driven philosophy and introspection of self, that’s quite different than the last 10 years of Marvel movies. Would the audience follow us along on that?
Tom Hiddleston famously held seminars on the character of Loki for Season 1. Did he do anything like that for Season 2?
No, because we tried to bring back as much crew as we could from Season 1. It was largely the same team. Obviously, we went from Atlanta to London [for production], but a lot of our department heads carried over, so there was an institutional knowledge that was built in. And Tom is my producing partner in a true sense. Before we had any writers or directors, it was Tom and I for months building this story out. We had a 30-page document that was like, This is what the show is: TVA, He Who Remains — even Victor Timely was in that first document years ago. And it’s just carried through.
So even as Kate Herron kind of handed the reins over at the end of Season 1, there is an institutional knowledge that comes with us being the glue between the seasons.
You mentioned He Who Remains and Victor Timely. You finished shooting Season 2 in 2022, but did Jonathan Majors’ arrest for assault in March resulted in any changes to the show?
No. This is maybe — not maybe — this is the first Marvel series to never have any additional photography. The story that is on screen is the story we set out to make. We went out there with a very specific idea of what we wanted this to be, and we found a way to tell it in that production period. It’s very much what’s on screen on Disney+.
It’s clear that Majors plays an integral role this season, and you just alluded that Marvel usually does additional photography on all its titles. So was there any discussion about making changes to the show, given the uncertainty about what was happening with Majors?
No. And that mainly came from — I know as much as you do at the moment. It felt hasty to do anything without knowing how all of this plays out.
How early into the writing of Season 2 did you decide to cast Ke Huy Quan as OB?
We were in London, so I had at least some version of our scripts. The way the process works, they’re always being rewritten, but OB was in there, and his introduction scene was almost exactly as originally written. I would like to say it was in early spring, which was maybe just two months before we started shooting. We were casting, and “Everything Everywhere All at Once” was playing in L.A. and in New York, but it hadn’t gone nationwide yet.
So that that Friday, myself, Justin and Aaron, two of our directors, had gotten on a Zoom with Ke. We pitched him the show and this character. We shared that introduction scene with him and maybe the full script. And then we called in the big guns that Monday; Kevin Feige got on the phone with him and said, “Ke, I know you read the script. I know you talked to the guys. We really think you should do this. I really want you to join the Marvel family.” And he had already made up his mind over the weekend. It was like, “I’m there. I’ve been a huge fan of this for a long time.”
Tumblr media
In Season 1, the show explored several time periods and locations outside the TVA, but in the first four episodes of this season, you stick to just 1880s Chicago, 1970s London and 1980s in the Midwest. How did you come to that decision to focus more on the TVA and building out its history?
Because that felt like where so much of our core character conflict was going to come from. There was so much intersectionality of our characters and what they think of the TVA. Sylvie wants to burn it down because the apple is rotten, as she says. Loki sees it as potentially the only form of defense against whatever else is coming in a war with Kang. Mobius and B-15, they’ve dedicated their whole life to it. They’re not quite ready to give it up. Renslayer feels like she’s been keeping it together, and you get a real understanding of why she thinks she should be the one to get this thing back on track.
We want everybody to be in the gray area — they’re neither good nor bad. They might make bad choices or heroic choices, but they are trying to figure out who they are. The TVA felt like the place where we could maximize that storytelling and learn more about those characters through that. But also stay tuned, because we are going to more places [in Episodes 5 and 6].
Do you think the TVA could start to appear in other titles in the MCU?
I would love that. Look, I’ve been siloed in on “Loki” for almost five years now, by the time this show finishes, and with every filmmaker who has put their hands on the show, we’ve all had the same conversations: It feels like the TVA could really be this exciting connective tool for all of this storytelling. And we’ve only seen a fraction of it. We’re dealing very specifically with this one smaller department with Mobius and B-15 and Renslayer, but you look out at those vistas — this place is infinite. The exciting thing to us is there certainly are more stories to be told there. We’ve carved out our own little corner of the sandbox and built something cool. We’re hoping that other people want to come and play with it.
One of the things I’ve most enjoyed about “Loki” is how it’s telling its own story, but have you considered bringing more of the MCU into it?
Yes, in both seasons of writers’ rooms. It always felt wrong to go too far outside of the box of things that would directly contribute to Loki’s character arc in these two seasons. So that’s why we get [Jaimie Alexander as] Sif in there [in Season 1], we play with the variants in the void and various levels of Asgard-specific storytelling. But while we’ve had nearly 12 hours of storytelling, it never feels like we have enough time. Eventually, just handling the stories of our ensemble and not shortchanging them has always been priority number one.
Now, Season 1 and 2 were always built to be two chapters of the same book. The hope would be going forward, there are more books that we can tell these stories with. I certainly think that we could start doing that.
Would there be a Season 3 of “Loki”? Is the future of the show finite or more open-ended?
I think it’s open-ended. We certainly did not develop this season going, “We have to tee up Season 3” — in the way that we did with Season 1, where there was a very specific, “Hey, we’re coming back.” But I also think that where this show goes, there certainly can be many, many, many more stories told with Loki in the “Loki” world, and in other worlds connected to Loki, the character.
Do you think Loki would ever rejoin the larger world of the MCU?
That’s the hope. I don’t want to — yeah. I think the the sun shining on Loki and Thor once again has always been the priority of the story we’re telling. But for that meeting to really be fulfilling, we have to get Loki to a certain place emotionally. I think that’s been the goal of these two seasons.

PRELIMINARY ROUND - STAR TREK
Tumblr media Tumblr media
PROPAGANDA
T'Pol
1.) dressed as a sex object. far more qualified & experienced than the (male) captain yet treated as less capable. had her agency removed when her past rape was revealed against her wishes & the episode treated it as a good thing. her taking command of the ship got humanity wiped out in an alternate timeline & she "redeemed herself" by becoming a housewife. there was a scene where the captain fell face first into her boobs. whatever they paid her actress, it should have been at least 3x more
2.) i think you can most clearly see the misogyny t'pol deals with in her costuming and makeup. she is given clear special treatment to make her look "more attractive": she wears catsuits throughout the show (despite neither institution she works for having any other similar uniforms, even for other women), sexy little silk pajamas, a cropped jumpsuit one time (even tho…it's a one piece?? and makes no sense to be cropped????), and SFX makeup that doesnt make her look as "alien" as other members of the literal alien species she's a part of. enterprise's main crime is sexualization, and while everyone (quite literally EVERY member of the cast) is hit with it at least once, t'pol pretty much never gets a break. there's a difference between sexy and overly sexualized, and ent is FAR into the over sexualized side of that spectrum. love you t'pol wish your canon was better xoxo
3.) The classic “Rick Berman Star Trek needs a woman who is strong and competent and part of the crew but gets skintight jumpsuits with low necklines instead of standard issue Starfleet uniforms to show cleavage and keep the male audience on board”.
Kes
1.) Poor Kes had it so bad. She's an Ocampan, which is a kind of alien with psychic powers and a 9-year long life-span. I was pretty interested in what they were going to do with her character when I started watching because in theory with the show having seven seasons, we could have seen her go through pretty much her whole life span over the course of the show. Unfortunately, most of her character is tied up in her terrible boyfriend Neelix, who is at a lower estimate in his mid 30s, and at an upper estimate his mid 50. He met her and started dating her while she was taken prisoner after being kidnapped. Neelix is mostly meant to be comic relief, he acts like an annoying, forcefully cheerful clown for the majority of his time on-screen (when he's not having war flashbacks) except for when he's interacting with Kes. With Kes he is possessive, controlling and manipulative. He's constantly accusing her of trying to cheat on him or leave him, throwing himself pity parties whenever she talks to another man and belittling her. And worst of all he's often framed as being in the right. She hardly gets any screen-time that isn't somehow actually about her boyfriend, the Doctor she's the assistant of or another male crew member who has a crush on her (also too old for her). When she does it's pretty much always focused on her psychic powers and not her as a person.
Some of the highlights of her time on the show include the time that Neelix's lungs were stolen, and after he spends the whole episode feeling sorry for himself and accusing her of being happy about it because he thinks she wants to leave him she donates him one of her lungs. Then there's the time some space anomaly makes her prematurely fertile so she has to decide if she ever wants kids right at that moment, and for some reason, almost the whole episode is focused on whether Neelix wants kids. She eventually breaks up with Neelix. Which is great! But she was possessed at the time. So she didn't even get to do that herself.
She was written off the show at the start of season 4 when another character was added and they needed to boot someone. She "ascends to a higher plane of existence". And then everyone on the crew proceeds to completely forget her about her straight afterwards. I'm not sure anyone was actually sad about her essentially dying. She comes back in a later episode called "Fury" which is about her trying to take revenge on the crew for her poor treatment. You'd think this would be good. But for some reason, she's mostly angry at the captain for allowing her to get on the ship in the first place, despite one of her few character traits being that she's adventurous and always wanting to learn things that no one else has. So the episode mostly focuses on trying to pick apart one of the only parts of her character that was well-defined and consistent. Her past self does tell her that she's forgotten what she truly wanted or something to talk her out of her revenge plan. I'm not really sure what they were going for. She tells the captain she was only an innocent child, so she shouldn't have been allowed to make the decision to get on the ship. She is never shown to be angry at Neelix. The man who started dating her when she was according to her future self a child. And a prisoner.
2.) She's kind of the sexy born yesterday character who's already taken. She's an alien whose race only lives nine years, so when i say that she got married at two that's a bit less alarming. She lived underground her "whole" life (about a year and a half) before she left her town, to find the surface, got kidnapped and then rescued by Neelix, a middle-aged scavenger/smuggler/chef who looks like a Cats character from a regular aging alien race. Neelix promises to show her new places and they apparently fall in love and get married and then Neelix takes her to the Voyager, and she leaves her home forever. At the age of 2. She lived in a cave her whole life, then found this gross little man, married him for some reason, and then was convinced to leave everything she had ever known, her entire family and life, to get on a star ship whose express mission was getting to the other side of the universe as fast as they were able.
Once on the ship she was able to find some independence and her own interests, and eventually left neelix, but god their entire relationship was really just loser old man and naive teenager and it was soooooooo uncomfortable
3.) I rewatched the Kes parts of Voyager. The "General Observations" section can be taken as a TL;DR (sorry for the essay). Here are a few not-so-fun facts about Kes:
General Observations:
Kes was kidnapped 4 times over the course of the show.
Kes often talks like a child especially early on in the show. She acts like a classic Disney Princess; sweet, but not quite understanding what's going on around her.
A lot of Kes's character revolves around the fact that she is very young, and a lot of the more uncomfortable aspects of her treatment revolve around this too. It's not like it's an impossible concept to pull off, in the same show the EMH is actually younger than Kes, and has several romantic relationships that don't feel super creepy in the same way most of Kes's do. This is because the writers don't make him act like a child and they actually give him agency in his relationships.
Kes's people, the Ocampa, live underground on a desert planet. Kes travelled to the surface when she was less than 1 year old, where she was captured by the people living there and tortured for information using "every method of persuasion" that they know. This is where she met and started dating Neelix. He explicitly says he thinks she is dating him because she owes him for getting her out of that situation, and yet it seems like the writers think this is a cute and heartwarming relationship.
Nearly all of her screen time is devoted to emotionally counseling the men around her, helping their character development, comforting and caring for them. She is hardly ever shown to have negative emotions ("Fury" aside), and then it's generally only when a man she cares about is in trouble. This includes when she is kidnapped. Even then she has to be calm, understanding and empathetic.
Kes's established character traits: curious, smart, psychic, caring, kind, young, innocent, naive. Pretty much all of these get tossed out the window in "Fury". She kills people she's known most of her life and tries to sell everyone out to organ harvesters because she gets "confused". She decides not to do this in the end because her younger self tells her she's acting out of character. This episode is one of the worst instances of character assassination I have ever seen.
In about 10 of her 70 total episodes on the show Kes makes a significant contribution to the plot that is not focused on a man. Most of those were more her acting as a psychic plot device rather than anything about her as an actual character. There was only one episode "Before and After", which I would count as truly being devoted to Kes as a character.
Practically every man Kes comes across is attracted to her. Often her attractiveness is mentioned in the same breath as the fact that she is literally a 1-3 year old.
Kes's love interests: Neelix, the EMH, Tom Paris, Tuvix, Ameron (while possessed), Nori (while possessed), Zahir. Aside from Zahir, she has pretty much no agency in any of these relationships.
Neelix calls Kes "sweetie", and talks to her like she's a child. When he's not shouting at her, anyway. Kes unconditionally loves and adores him for some reason.
Observations while watching:
When Neelix's lungs are stolen Kes refuses to leave his side and one of the first things she does is offer to donate one of her own, refuses to let the EMH perform any medical procedures until she's sure it's safe. Meanwhile, Neelix goes on a jealous rant at her because she called another man by his first name.
When Kes donates a lung Neelix refuses at first because the operation would be too dangerous, but Kes says "you've done so much for me, let me give you something once", implying that Kes owes him a lung for him helping free her from the people torturing her.
The episode "Elogium" was apparently meant to be a metaphor for teen pregnancy. With Kes as the teen and Neelix (whose actor says that he sees him as being in his 50s) as the father.
Ocampan puberty apparently happens between the ages of 4 and 5. Kes starts the series at less than 1 year old, and leaves at 3. She is apparently at an age where it would be dangerous to conceive a child in "Elogium". She is not sure she is finished growing. She has been dating Neelix for about a year (possibly more) at this point.
When the EMH hallucinates Kes as his wife, she makes him promise not to tell Neelix, because he tends to get "a little jealous"
In "Elogium", Neelix interrogates Kes over the fact that Tom Paris says "see you later" to her because he "Sees the way he looks at (her). (He) used to look at women that way (he) knows what it means." Neelix is later implied to be in the right here, Kes is being naive thinking Tom Paris could be her friend, apparently.
In "Twisted" Kes turns two years old. Tom Paris gives her a locket for her birthday. Neelix gets pissed off because he thinks he's trying to charm her. Neelix is, again framed as being in the right here.
Kes has a very good memory and is able to remember where everyone's rooms are. When she demonstrates this, Neelix implies she knows this because she's slept with every man on the ship. At the end of this episode, Kes decides to put his photo in her locket to always keep him close.
When Kes is upset that Neelix attacked Tom Paris over her, the EMH tells her she should consider herself lucky to have two men fighting over her.
Tom Paris admits to Neelix that he finds Kes attractive, but says that he won't try anything with her because he respects Neelix. He asks if Neelix would allow him to be her friend. Because who cares what Kes wants right? I guess if Neelix had said no he would have just stopped talking to her?
Tom says Kes is very devoted to Neelix, and Neelix admits he thinks she's only with him because he saved her life and she's grateful he freed her from captivity and she owes him. He is dating her despite this. This is never addressed.
Tanis, another Ocampan, calls her innocent and naive, so she seems quite young even by the standards of her own species.
Tuvix, having inherited Neelix's manipulative tendencies tries to manipulate Kes into begging the captain for his life.
Kes gets kidnapped by caveman aliens. When someone comes to rescue her, the cavemen try to trade another woman to them so they can keep Kes.
Kes goes into a coma and acts as the damsel in distress again in "Sacred Ground"
"This is typical of you Neelix… it bothers you that I'm making friends of my own, you always have to involve yourself somehow." "You can spend time with anyone you want" "As long as I spend most of it with you… I never realised a relationship could be any different. I've never been with anyone but you." Kes when she breaks up with Neelix. Except this isn't Kes because she's actually possessed at the time. She doesn't even get agency in her own breakup.
Kes is dressed in skintight leather trousers and high heels and tries to seduce everyone while possessed by a male warlord. He describes Kes as a "little girl".
In "Darkling" Kes starts wearing form fitting jumpsuits somewhat similar to the ones Seven of Nine wears (though not quite as tight). This is possibly because she's supposed to look more mature, and she starts having "young adult" storylines instead of teenager storylines.
"Everyone seems to be treating me like a child, I'm three years old now"
The EMH kidnaps Kes in "Darkling" when he turns temporarily evil. His treatment of her in this episode includes shoving her into a wall and putting his hand around her neck, repeatedly grabbing and shoving her, holding her at gunpoint and throwing her off a cliff.
The evil EMH kidnaps Kes because she wants to leave the ship to travel with her new boyfriend. This is framed as the good inside of him because he is trying to "protect" her. Kes decides to stay on the ship because of this. She never expresses any negative emotions about this incident.
In "Before and After" Kes goes through her entire life in reverse. In the future she sees, she has married Tom Paris and had a daughter with him, and her daughter has a child with Harry Kim, who was the best man at Kes and Tom's wedding. This is by far the best Kes episode, but she never really gets to react to anything that happens in it. Soon after this she ascends to a higher plane of existence in "The Gift".
In "Before and After" Kes sees threats in advance and warns the crew about them, preventing the Captain's death in the future. This isn't really acknowledged.
Half of "The Gift" is focused on Seven of Nine and the Borg. Not even Kes's send-off episode is really focused on her.
In "The Gift", Neelix and Kes have one final scene together. Neelix gets quite self-pitying again and says she broke up with him because he was holding her back. Kes says that wasn't it but doesn't say why it happened. This is the only time they directly talk about their breakup outside of when Kes was possessed.
When Kes decides to ascend, the captain begs her to reconsider. Kes insists she has not lost her judgement or come under an alien influence. Captain Janeway tells her she's family and tearfully embraces her. Tuvok puts out a candle in mourning (everyone forgets about her after this episode ends though).
In "Fury" Kes is back in physical form somehow, despite ascending into some higher plane of existence in the last episode she appeared. She is also much older in appearance.
In "Fury" Kes gets onto the ship, starts exploding everything she can with her psychic powers, kills everyone she comes across and goes back in time to the start of the show to kidnap herself.
Kes and Neelix have a scene in "Fury". It makes Neelix much nicer than he ever was in the early parts of the show (especially to Kes). He actually notices something is wrong and asks her how she is and prepares her favourite meal for her because she had a bad day. I'm not sure he ever even asked her how she was before. I guess at this point they must have wanted to pretend the relationship was a lot less creepy and unhealthy than it actually was. Especially since Kes is the villain of the episode.
Older Kes's plan in "Fury" is to travel back in time, sell out the people she spent the majority of her life with to organ harvesters so she can send her and her younger self back to her home world because the crew "abandoned her a long time ago". I think this manages to dismantle practically every established character trait she has.
Older Kes's explanation of her actions in "Fury": "You (Captain Janeway) took her (young Kes) from Ocampa. Her home. She's a prisoner on this ship. I was a child, you corrupted me. Your ideas. Exploration, discovery. I believed you. In three years I'm going to leave Voyager in search of higher things because you encouraged me to do it. You encouraged me to develop my mental abilities. What I found, I couldn't control it, it scared me… I trusted you!" Neelix was the one who took her from Ocampa. As noted before, Captain Janeway begged her not to ascend.
Old Kes is killed by the captain. They know something terrible happened to Kes when she ascended, but apparently all that they did was get Kes to record a video of herself saying that she shouldn't take revenge because it's not who she is. This worked for some reason, she says she killed everyone because she was confused.
Kes decides to go back to Ocampa. Due to the Ocampan lifespan, everyone she knew before she left is probably dead. To add insult to injury, Neelix is the last person she sees before she leaves for good.

"Let's talk about Chu" is actually really good
I honestly started this show out of boredom and because it only has 8 episodes, so it's easy to watch. The first episode feels like they just want to show how controversial the show is because there are several sex scenes but once the story really starts, it's really interesting. It kinda starts out as something like Sex Education but it ends up talking less about sex and more about people's different relationships.
The main cast is the Chu family which consists of the parents and their three children. There are two daughters (Ai and Wei) and one son (Yu Sen), everyone equally faces challenges and they all kinda manage. Sometimes, it feels like they really just manage but struggle to live. It's about everyone finding their happy place or reestablishing it.
There's an old marriage (the parents) and a young marriage (oldest daughter) facing the same issues. The partners seemingly have lost interest in each other, there's no intimacy physically and mentally. It's interesting and at times very sad to watch their marriages falling apart. Especially Wei's marriage, when they argue about irrational things that obviously root in distrust and disappointment. I could relate to her very much and I really like how the show points out that both are part of the problem.
The son - Yu Sen - is stuck in a weird relationship and his partner is really unlikable and doesn't want to come out to his parents. They eventually break up, who was sad? I wasn't. It marks the start of Yu Sen's arc where he meets a random, very extroverted guy who takes him to places and makes him feel alive. Honestly, I felt alive too, the guy named Yueh has a certain charm nobody can ignore. It goes so far, even though no commitments have been made, even though they shouldn't matter that much to each other, Yu Sen goes looking Yueh in the countryside, meets his grandma and helps him through his grief. It's sweet and shows different sides of the characters, my absolute favourite part of the show.
And then, there's the protagonist, the youngest daughter Ai. She and Ping-ke are friends with benefits and by the way he looks at her, one can immediatly tell he really likes her. But she sets boundaries and rules, so there cannot be more to it. They stay pretty consistent, she has something with two other guys but both don't give her a sense of love. Ping ke's still there and he sees his chance of persuing her for real. We find out there's actually a reason for those boundaries rooted in Ai's childhood and Ping-ke is there to comfort her after she remembers it again. I kind of like her but at the same time she's a bit frustrating because she doesn't have that much of an arc until episode 6, so I don't have much to say about her. I like Ping-ke's arc of starting to be independent and not living off his family's money. I could relate to a certain point. I can understand the sheer want of having something on one's own. He wants to be respected and actually do something, so he goes out and does it. I love it.
Anyway, great show, go watch it on Netflix. The story gets better and better the longer you watch and every character's arc is very valid and consistent. There are different sides to every story and the show does a really good job at showing both. Noone is right or wrong, it's sometimes frustrating how real it feels lol

Soooo as always here's my opinion on First episode of Loki's Season 2 :)
Here are the things that i really liked and feel like highlight of this episode imo
Tumblr media
FIRST THINGS FIRST IT WAS REALLY NICE TO SEE Ke Huy Quan as OB aka Ouroboros... nice addition to the marvel family
Tumblr media Tumblr media
secondly WHY IS MY GUY MOBIUS SO OBSESSED WITH HIS SKIN LMFAOO😭😭 HE WAS EVEN READY TO DIE BUT LOOSING HIS SKIN WAS MUCH MORE IMPORTANT TO HIM
Tumblr media
LIKE EVERYONE IN THE ROOM WERE LOOSING THEIR MINDS ABOUT TVA AND FUTURE AND ANALYSING THE SITUATION AND HERE IN THE BACK MY DUDE MOBIUS IS WRITING " SKIN " ON A DUSTED TAB AND WONDERING HE WOULD MAKE IT OUT OR NOT😭😂 made me chuckle
Tumblr media
But in the End Mobius not only pulled himself off to do the task even tho he knew he could fucking die and risked it all because of his Long distance low commitment causal Boyfriend LOKI 😭💀
Tumblr media
HE LITERALLY RISKED IT ALL FOR LOKI I WANT Y'ALL TO UNDERSTAND THIS HE WAS READY TO DIE FOR LOKI.... DO YOU GUYS UNDERSTAND ??? HE LIKES AND LOVES LOKI THAT MUCH
MY DELULU MOBIUS - LOKI SHIP IS STILL GOING STRONG BITCHES😤✊
Tumblr media
And in the meanwhile THIS MF LOKI SAW SYLVIE FOR A SECOND AND WAS MESMERIZED IDK WHAT HE SEES IN HER BUT MY GUY IS DOWN BAD FOR HER LIKE LOOK AT HIS PUPPY EYES😭😭
Tumblr media
And somehow loki and mobius not only pulled the task but loki infact helped mobius to get into the chamber safely....Mobius literally almost DIED TO SAVE LOKI and what was the first thing loki said " WE NEED TO FIND SYLVIE " 😭😭😭😭😭 LIKE NOT EVEN A THANK YOU TO MOBIUS LMFAOOOO ???
Ngl i am really loving this triangle love story bw them since Season1
Tumblr media
And in the end credits i really cried a bit for Sylvie ik you all hate her but listen to me behind the " Bad girl, boss bitch " behaviour she's is just a broken little kid who's never grown up, all she ever needed was love, affection and somebody to trust on and wanted to live a normal life but she never got that and everytime she trusted and loved someone they either broke her heart and left her alone and that's the reason she became who she is its hard for her to trust anyone bcoz she doesn't want to get hurt again coz she feels she had enough and finally when she looks at this people having normal lives and talking their friends and loved ones she finally has a little bit of hope in her eyes and has happy tears and smiles a bit THIS IS WHAT SHE ALWAYS WANTED 😭❤ And i am sure this is the direction marvel markers will go thru for Sylvie's character this season and i am excited for the coming episodes
Also Lastly WHERE IS THIS BITCH MISS MINUTES ??? where is she Fucking around and whose D... is she sucking ? everything is game for this annoying cunt coz The entire Tva is collapsed and she seems to be no found no where😤😤
Tumblr media
Anygayssss EPISODE 1 WAS REALLY FUN TO WATCH... I KNOW most of you are done with marvel or cbms stuff and even i felt i was done with this shit and i didn't even post during the secret invasion time 😭💀 but HERE I AM NOW LOKI S2 STARTED OFF GRANDLY Hope they will end it in a much grander way

Loki Season 2 Episode 1 Thoughts and Theories
If you haven't seen the episode then please look away.
I really loved this Season 2 premiere of Loki. I think it sets up this season quite nicely. We have the aftermath of the branching time lines in full display. I also like how there is now this schism in the TVA between people that accepted the truth, which was that they were taken by the TVA from their timelines, that are now choosing to not prune any timelines and the people who still can’t accept the truth and are now more militant than ever, so they’re going to be hunting down Sylvie because she’s the only lead as to why this disorder is happening.
Also, it is so fun to watch Mobius and Loki interact with one another again. I was afraid we were going to spend this first episode in an alternate TVA where nobody knows who Loki is, so I’m glad that wasn’t the case. Their banter is really great. Specially, when Mobius was pretending that Loki time slipping wasn’t a grotesque sight.
One last thing, I liked seeing Sylvie in that after credits scene being happy. She’s seeing all these people together and she just seems free. I don’t know exactly what happened between her and The One Who Remains, but I’m very intrigued on why she stays there.
Some Theories I Have from this Episode:
Even though I like Ouroboros [aka O.B. (Ke Huy Quan’s character)], I don’t fully trust him. I feel like something’s going on with him; like he’s just pretending to be good or that he knows more than he lets on. One of my reasons for thinking that is that he’s the only one that remembers talking to Loki in the past, whereas everybody kind of just forgets seeing Loki while he was in the past. He knew word for word what he said to Loki. Sure, this could be explained away by saying that the others (Mobius, Casey, Hunter B-15) just had a few seconds of interaction with him and that nobody comes around and talks to OB that much and that’s why he remembers, but I feel like Casey would have remembered him. Loki was literally the guy that created the crack on the logo of the TVA and Loki almost hit Casey and the others with a car. That’s a pretty notable event, so I feel like that would be something they remembered at least.
One more thing about OB maybe knowing more than he lets on. When he is introduced, he kind of messes with Mobius. He does agree that Mobius been there before but messes with him on details of his visit; like he knows Mobius has been there a lot, but his memories are erased. I don’t know am I overthinking this one.
Also, I’m pretty sure the person that prunes Loki in the future is himself. Sylvie even says “There you are” once she opens the elevator doors that she was stuck in. However, it also might not be because I feel like we would at least have seen another Loki behind him. It feels like the person that pruned him was short, so I’m guessing we’ll find more about that in the last episode.
What do you guys think? Do you guys trust OB? or do you feel like something is up with him?

TV Show - Dr. House | House M.D. VIII
We're diving in. Ladies and gentlemen, we are DIVING IN!
Tumblr media
The first episode of the fourth season is still a bit of a soft start with a little rock, but the second episode goes full throttle!
So many memories are flooding through the nerve pathways of my brain right now, and it's spinning. Doctors who aren't doctors! Doctors who would rather not be doctors anymore! Doctors who commit suicide! Doctors who fall in love with the best friends of other doctors! (That's the discord between House and Wilson that I mentioned before!) Doctors with children! You'd think we're watching a medical drama!
What I like best here is the fact that they're actually completely revamping the series but somehow not changing anything. So, on one hand, they stay true to the familiar, but on the other hand, they bring in a lot of fresh energy. Plus, the old team isn't entirely gone—Cameron and Chase are still working in the clinic, and Foreman will also be coming back. It won't be long before the two teams mix.
Unfortunately, Amber has a big problem for me in German because she has the same voice as Kes from Star Trek: Voyager. Nothing against the voice, but I find Kes simply dreadful, and unfortunately, because of the voice, it transfers to all the other characters with that voice. But in general, Amber isn't a really likable person either; I don't like her in How I Met Your Mother at all, even though she only appears in one episode there. There's another series I'm currently watching her in, where she was okay, but I can't remember the name of the series right now (maybe it'll come to me later, depending on how well my brain manages it).
Someone I'm very happy to see again is Carmen Argenziano. Of course, I know he's done an incredible amount, but my fondness comes from his appearances in Stargate SG-1. As Sam Carter's father and later as a mediator between humans and the Tok'ra.
Ah, of course, we also need to talk about House's new cane. I don't know who came up with the idea in the series, but it's genius. Flames on a cane, it doesn't get much more '80s/'90s than that. All that's missing on the cane now is a turbocharger and a spoiler!
Since the fourth season is a bit of a fresh start, there isn't much to write about yet, and I'll space out the posts a bit. By now, I have two episodes of Halo to catch up on, and Bullet Train (2022) is now on Netflix, so I definitely need to check that out too.

Alex Turner on the Arctic Monkeys' musical evolution
By Mark Savage (published on October 22 2022)
Alex Turner is out of breath.
The Arctic Monkeys frontman has just blazed through a guitar solo on Body Paint - the swaggering, Bowie-esque centrepiece of their new album, The Car - on TV institution Later with Jools Holland.
"You've parched me out there," he pants. "Could someone get me a water?"
Unusually, the Arctics are the only band in the studio. For the first time in 15 years, the show is devoting an entire episode to a single act - an honour reserved for rock legends like REM, Radiohead, Metallica and Oasis.
Turner and his band-mates appreciate the enormity of the situation. They film additional takes and switch up their setlist to ensure the new music is conveyed with appropriate punch and panache.
"Gotta make this one count," says Turner as the recording runs into its second hour. "We'll do an acoustic one, and then Born To Run."
The promised Springsteen cover never materialises. Nor does the band's hellraising 2007 hit Brianstorm, despite guitarist Jamie Cook idly bashing out the riff between takes. But, with almost twice as much Monkey business as they'd bargained for, the audience leaves on a high.
"I enjoyed it a great deal," agrees Turner, on the phone to the BBC a couple of days later. "I'm a big fan of that show and I have been for a long time, even before we put the band together."
In fact, his highlight in the run-up to the show was getting access to the Later vaults, to pick a performance that influenced him for broadcast on the show.
"I kind of lost myself in the archive back there for a minute, Mark, to be honest with you," he says. "I found myself gravitating to performances from 2002 and going, 'Oh God, yeah, I remember seeing that and getting excited about it.'"
Of course, 2002 is the year the Arctic Monkeys formed in Sheffield, where all four members were pupils of Stocksbridge High School.
Turner and guitarist Jamie Cook had only received their first guitars a year earlier, as Christmas presents from their parents. The first song they wrote was called "Matt Dave Rock Song" - named for a singer who subsequently left the band, and which they subsequently described as "junk" and "total crap".
But they progressed at speed, developing a sharp, nervy sound full of searing riffs and witty, literate lyrics. By 2005, people were eagerly swapping bootlegs, demos and gossip on dedicated message boards.
When their first album, Whatever People I Say I Am, That's What I'm Not, arrived in 2006 it became the UK's fastest-selling debut of all time, just weeks after Turner's 20th birthday.
Arctic Monkeys were suddenly the most written-about, talked-about rock band of their generation.
They responded by closing ranks.
Back-slapping events like the Brit Awards were avoided, the band accepting prizes in mailed-in videos, dressed as characters from The Wizard of Oz. When they played Radio 1's Live Lounge, they subverted their "rock saviour" image by covering Katy B's On A Mission and Girls Aloud's Love Machine.
"I can't really remember the impetus behind that decision," reflects Turner, "but it was a lot of fun".
Musically, Arctic Monkeys went from strength to strength, particularly on the hard-hitting Humbug (2009) and the leather-jacketed rock of AM (2013).
They last graced the charts in 2018 with the space-jazz concept album Tranquillity Base Hotel & Casino, which explored themes of consumerism and politics through the concept of a luxury resort on the moon.
Turner composed its languid, meandering songs on piano, declaring the guitar "had lost its ability to give me ideas".
Critics were divided. Rolling Stone called the album "indulgent", but Q Magazine thought it was "strange and wonderful". Fans sent the album to number one, but it's the only Arctic Monkeys record not to be certified platinum.
Released on Friday, The Car is tighter and more immediate than its predecessor but it spins in the same sonic universe.
Opening track There'd Better Be A Mirror Ball is all woozy keyboards and staccato string stabs, while Jet Skis On The Moat sees Turner slip on his velvet jacket for a brooding lounge-pop ballad.
"I made a big deal about the piano on the last record," says the singer, "but when I look at it now, the shift in sound between that record and the one before [AM] is more to do with the fact that my writing process [changed] around that time".
In the Arctic Monkeys' first decade, he explains, he'd take a song "into a rehearsal room and work out how it goes with the band". That's gradually become more insular, with Turner building up songs in his home studio until he feels they're ready.
"So the piano had a part in it, but being able to record myself and write to those recordings is perhaps what got us into this mess."
That's not the only thing that's changed.
"I can vaguely remember times in the past where I've been struck with the inspiration and written something quite quickly, but it feels like that happens less these days," he says. "But I'm not worried if it takes a little bit longer."
In fact, some of the musical motifs on The Car percolated for three years before he "persuaded them to be a pop song".
Among them was the instrumental refrain of Big Ideas, a gorgeous electric piano melody that "felt like it had aspirations to be a movie theme".
"It hung around for ages, that melody, and I'd play it whenever I found myself sitting at a piano [until] one of the band asked, 'Is that one of yours?'
"And that's about as excited as they get," he jokes.
Their enthusiasm encouraged him to build the passage into a song that describes a songwriter's (favourite) worst nightmare.
"I had big ideas... the kind you'd rather not share over the phone," Turner sings. "But now the orchestra's got us all surrounded and I can't for the life of me remember how they go."
It's one of many lyrics that hint at instability and dislocation.
The music, meanwhile, reflects his emotional turbulence. The band often sound like they're fighting to be heard - bursting through an orchestral swell to gasp for air, only to be dragged under the surface again.
"There was much discussion and deliberation" about those "push and pull dynamics", Turner says.
Some tracks, like Sculptures, were recorded with several different arrangements, then reconstructed in the mix.
The track was born when guitarist Jamie Cook wired a Moog synthesizer up to a drum machine, creating an ominous, industrial sound. Then it "went on its own journey", evolving into a full-band recording, before the original idea reasserted itself.
On the finished version, "it's almost like there's a button for the band and you press it and they step in for a bar, then they disappear back and you're in that synthesizer place," Turner explains.
"That, of course, is not the kind of idea that I would have had before we started. That's something that revealed itself during the process.
"So I'm thrilled that you mentioned the dynamics because that's something we attempted to explore and get a handle on this time. And yeah, I think I think we did a better job in that respect, than we did last time around."
Back on stage in Alexandra Palace, Arctic Monkeys are still figuring out how to play the new material live, taking a couple of passes at the funky, sqawkbox riffs of I Ain't Quite Where I Think I Am before they're satisfied.
Without a string section, the songs become harder, more full-blooded - giving an idea of how they'll nestle up to Fluorescent Adolescent and RU Mine on tour.
And while some bands (cough, Radiohead, cough) abandon their old hits when they settle on a new sound, Turner has no such inclination.
"There's certain numbers from the early records that I should think we would continue to keep playing. And there are other numbers we haven't played for a while that we could imagine knocking the dust off. "
"Nothing has been ruled out," he concludes. "Although Love Machine might be a stretch."

Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 Sound Episode 6 // Not Canon (Crack)
For More information about the Sound Drama, check the post for the First Sound episode over there
Tumblr media
**One of my favorite Takahiro Kimura cover ever; While I regret more meaningful sound drama like we had for the Season 1, at least we managed to get incredible crack-ish artwork like this one**
Track List :
1 - REASON (Xingke and Gino's character song. Yes.) 2 - Short Drama "Lululu Goukon Rhapsody" 3 - Short Drama "Motorcycle Man Jeremiah" 4 - Short Drama "Sumeragi Kaguya’s Meeting with the Demon" 5 - REASON (Instrumental)
Reason, Xingke and Gino' s character song, sung by Hikaru Midorikawa and Souichirou Hoshi
youtube
Audio Drama "Lululu Goukon* Rhapsody" You can listen to the Audio Drama there (Curtesy of @celestadore ٩(◕‿◕)۶)
**Gokon are sort of group dates, where boys and girls meet, go to Karaoke, etc, in the hope of finding themselves a girlfriend/boyfriend amongst the various guests, it's something teenagers often do
Drama begins with Lelouch, Gino, Jeremiah and Rolo getting ready for a Gokon. Lelouch already has determined various patterns of possible outcomings for this. To their common surprise, enter Suzaku, Xing-ke, Schneizel and "Hentai Megane" (aka "perverted four-eyes) : Lloyd.
Lelouch gets angry at Suzaku for coming here, Suzaku thinks he might have gotten into the wrong room but it doesn't seem like that. Everyone is puzzled. Suzaku receives a mail from the invited girls who decided to cancel last minute.
Awkward silence.
Suzaku: "Well let's fill the silence LOL"
Schneizel, composed as usual, asks what this fuss is all about and why they couldn't hold the Gokon together. Lelouch cannot accept this since a Gokon is supposed to be between girls and boys. Schneizel replies something as trivial as gender doesn't matter (Expanding here but it's more or less what he means)
While Lelouch agrees, he thinks they must confirm something first: Everyone gathered must reveal their sort of secret technique/pick-up lines to make the girls melt but they can't use basic stuff like "I love you". It has to be somthing that nonetheless leaves a strong impact on the girls.
Everyone is in awe Since everyone agrees, Lelouch motivates everyone by making them repeat the motto of it;
Lloyd, to Gino's surprise, is the first to speak up; His line is "OMEDETOU" Suzaku doesn't quite get it.
Schneizel is second, and starts talking about spring, spring breeze, princesses and cheesy stuff like that (poetic stuff), alas Lelouch cuts him off.
Lelouch then aks Gino to be the next one. Gino barely started saying something about roses, when a loud sound like an explosion is heard. Jeremiah then starts talking like a very cliche homosexual (The effect of Gino's line ?) Lelouch says Gino's line isn't a real pick up line, just something very host like ; Meanwhile, Rolo is disgusted by Jeremiah's attitude.
Rolo then wonders if Jeremiah has anything to say. Jeremiah plays shy, then remembers to switch back to his normal voice. Rolo has to insist to make him reveal his line, but instead he goes on rambling about a woman; Eventually, no one trust him and he does not even get to reveal his line.
Lloyd gets curious about Xing-ke, who starts coughing and collapses. Xing-ke then manages to explain to Rolo (picked up to be his partner in this act, because of his "baby-face" (because it would remind Xing-ke of Tian-zi ) that he has not much time left. Loud sound of explosion again, Rolo gets hit in the heart and acts all shy because of "playboy "Xing-ke' s words before he snaps out of it.
Lelouch says it's not bad, but Gino thinks it's nothing compared to Suzaku's skills. He recalls a conversation with a girl in a Japanese restaurant (this is still naive!Suzaku, so he said something totally ordinary but was misunderstood and didn't notice). Lloyd and even Schneizel are completely dazzled, and start acting gay, just like Xing-ke and Gino.
Lelouch can't believe it, but is confident in his skills. Of course he thinks about …. GEASS! Lelouch: geass LOVE ME! But; Jeremiah: GEASS CANCELER! Lelouch: ASDFJKL JEREMIAH!!!!
It nonetheless works on Rolo: "Nii-san you are so cool !"
Gino then reminds Lelouch of his own rules and that he can't use those words. Even if so, Lelouch has another one; Lelouch: geass DIE FOR MY SAKE Everyone: YES YOUR HIGHNESS!
Jeremiah: GEASS CANCELER Everyone: Damn that was a close one….
Lelouch: And what about this? geass If it's not love, wouldn't you mind dying? Everyone: YES YOUR HIGHNESS! Jeremiah: GEASS CANCELER! Xing-ke: If it hadn't been for Jeremiah we'd be done for good… Lloyd: Too bad for you Lelouch Lelouch tries again, (and probably again and again and again…)
Gino concludes that all Lelouch's killer-lines were just him using Geass and that they should advance to the next step of the Gokon: the King's Game! ( it's like drawing lots and whoever as a result of this becomes the king has the right to command the others) Rolo asks about this, and Lelouch answers by reciting the entire history of the game, dating back to old Russia etc etc.
Lelouch wants to pass, but Schneizel provokes him, saying "if you can't get a hold of this game, how could you get a hold of the world?" Lelouch being Lelouch he responds to provocation just as the enemy expected. Lloyd notices this and laugh, praising Schneizel.
Lelouch gets all excited and the king's game begins assuming they're drawing lots
The king is… ROLO! everyone collapses His first order is for #3 and #6 to do the "kari kari chu chu game" (the lots everybody draws also feature a number, so the King can order number this and number that to do things together, against each other etc. Yes it's as silly as it sounds)
"Kari kari chu chu game"is two people nibbling on the same pocky from each end and eventually their lips meet when they don't pay attention and end up "kissing" ("chu chu") .
#3 is Suzaku and #6 is… Lelouch! Rolo wants to cancel that order, but the King's orders are absolute and cannot be objected.
Lelouch: LET'S DO IT SUZAKU Suzaku: W-wait Lelouch!! sound of Lelouch stuffing a pocky inside Suzaku's mouth
Lelouch is full of fervor because he refuses to lose, for he is Lelouch vi Britannia and starts eating the other side of the pocky. Jeremiah is the referee wile the other ones comment and root for their favorite; Schneizel compares it to some ancient war tactic and Jeremiah thinks it reveals a true man's soul.
As everyone wonders who will first give up… KISS noise Innocent days starts in the BGM Rolo: NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN"
Lelouch: Suzaku, why didn't you stop? Suzaku: Lelouch, that's because we're friends right? (that's his line from the S1 finale, the sound dramas like to re-use and distort the original quotes)
telephone rings Schneizel has Suzaku picking up. (They were seemingly in a karaoke box because they get a call that their time is over. Karaoke boxes are rented for a specific amount of time and when it's almost over you get a call from the clerk so you can finish your song food and prepare to leave)
Lelouch stops Suzaku and wants revenge, so everyone is in for another King's Game.

Audio Drama "Sumeragi Kaguya’s meeting with a Demon"
As Kaguya Sumeragi is passing time in the Kururugi temple, she overhears a conversation between Suzaku and some friends of his about them planning to go and catch beetles the next day; As Suzaku doesn't seem very motivated by the thought of bringing her with him, Kaguya then manages to trump him into pretending she hhas her bean bag stuck in a tree; As Suzaku tried to get look for it, Kaguya then suddenly throws beans at him, as he begs her to stop, laughing at him, telling him it's his punishment for leaving his fiancée behind. She then threatens him to reak their engagment, which would be a trouble for the Kururugi family (she acts very spoiled/bratty, actually)
We then moves to a scene with Kaguya and Kirirhara where she learns Suzaku doesn't have the right to take her out of the temple because Kirirhara told him to; As she is sulking about how plying without going outside is impossible, Kirihara reminds her playing is useless while studying is of the utmost importance, to time for a dance lesson !
Suzaku is also training to be a samurai, with a wooden sword, Kaguya begins to tease him about him using this wooden sword and the conversation then moves to what they want to be latter and how, according to Suzaku, if he works hard, he'll be able to reach what he wants. Kaguya doesn't want to say what she wants to become because she doesn't have a say in it (ie, what she wants is different of what Kaguya, the Sumeragi clan member wants)
Kaguya is pissed she has to study and will have to study more when she is back at home and then runs away from the temple, while night is falling; As she is hunting for the beetle she hears Lelouch's voice, calling for the person he just heard; Kaguya and Lelouch meet, but they don't know each other, and Kaguya confuses him with a demon; Lelouch choses to play along. As Kaguya fears he might kidnap or eat her she notices he is holding a flower; Lelouch tells her it's for his little sister; Kaguya is mesmerized to discover demons can have sisters and even enjoy flowers. As she gets more comfortable, thinking the demon isn't so different of the human, Lelouch tells her he likes eating human anyway, to wich Kaguya threatens him with the power of the Sumeragi clan if something happens to her. Lelouch eventually tells her he won't eat her and she can go, but Kaguya changes her mind and tells him he can take her if it means she won't have to get back to her lessons. Lelouch ponders about her status (seemingly paralleling it to the royal families obligation) and tell her she can just stop being a member of the Sumeragi clan.
He then mocks about how she abused her status and know that she isn't that important, that it only comes from her family. After some other nice things he bids her goodbye. Back to Suzaku who is looking for Kaguya and finally finds her. Kaguya is sad and feels bad because she now realizes that she has been abusing Suzaku, but Suzaku being Suzaku he doesn't think it's that bad and he promises her in the future he'll do his best to have her come out and play with him.
Back to the present, it was actually a story Kaguya was counting to Kallen
Kaguya changed since that day and never forgot this night. Kallen is surprised to learn Kaguya was Suzaku's fiancee back then, but it's all in the past now for Kaguya. Zero enters as she muses over Suzaku and she jumps on him in a very Kaguya way. Kallen notices how Kaguya can act lovey dovey with a man whose face she doesn't know and Kaguya tells him the face doesn't matter; Zero then intervernes, telling her a demon might be hiding behind his mask. Kaguya is first surprised, but then excited by the idea of it; Zero is surprised so Kaguya explains he is the first one she chose by her own will and that's all that matters. Lelouch respect that and Kaguya conclused about how she'll bear her responsabilities and will follow her own path while assuming what comes out of it.
Additional information : While some wonders if the last audio drama is actually canon, since nothing crack-ish or Au-ish actually happens, it seems unlikely since we saw in the anime, that Lelouch and Nunally actually met Kaguya upon their arrival in Kururugi Shrine (and it was certainly at the beginning since Suzaku still disliked Lelouch) So far only the last audio drama and the Beautiful record of Rebellion drama could be canon, but if we go by the fact the Kaguya drama contradicts canon, it's unlikely for this one.
Tumblr media
And that's the end for the Sound Drama of R2 ; While it was good fun, it would have been better if those drama had been mere fanfiction instead of taking room for what could have been meaningful stories, like we got with the season 1 sound drama (especially given the number of new characters in R2, fleshing out some of them in additional canon material wouldn't have been a luxury) Hope you enjoyed anyway.

Here we go- on time, for once- with The French Connections Caper! As I mentioned, this is one of my favorite episodes from season one, because I am a little angst whore.
Tumblr media
Alrighty- as always, notes are under the cut!
Who in the world reference. GET IT
The rotating pack of mints is so funny. Did acme have that on file?? Did she hack into his bank account??
The picture of julia just looking exhausted with chase is so funny
SIX MONTHS AGO?? THIS SEASON HAPPENED IN SIX MONTHS???
Chase is literally That Stupid
Man can you imagine the episode if PAPER STAR had kidnapped chase???? She would have just killed him
The standing up and saying “I will go” is theater kid level blocking i love that
I’m going to be yammering on about the lens of shadowsan’s double betrayal thing for probably the whole episode but goddd its so good. Severus snape and harry potter’s terf ass wish they had what shadowsan and carmen have
Shadowsan’s motif <333
YOU JOINING A KPOP BAND
Julia in her suit <3333333 YES YES YES part of the reason I love this episode is because its the first time julia sort of gets to stand on her own a little bit…sets up for next season, when she SLAYS
Also, ever notice that in this “virtual tailor” chase has gloves, but in s3 when he finally gets his suit he doesn’t have them? Interesting that some agents get them and some don’t
Chase getting so pissed off about julia saying she didn’t do it alone is SO FUNNY because he’s RIGHT she is NOT talking about him
Your SILENT partner yessir
I LOVE WHEN SHE GETS MAD AND YELLS AT HIM GO JULIA GET HIS ASS
DEFEND YOUR WIFE 💪
Chase’s ego is so large that it blinds him- jackie made a post on it already so I’ll just reference that, but its brilliant characterization
You can make yourself look like a law enforcement imbecile jusst fine
I love the way julia storms off. She cn’t take very large steps so its just very angry and quick heel clatters
She WANTS to be planning something nefarious but unfortunately she must be on the beach
Poor baby she looks so uncomfortable dsghfjda. Also another instance of a stellar outfit that we never get to see again </3
Ivy is actually weirdly talented at making gigantic detailed sand castles. That wave was so poorly timed her poor vile central
Also. wicked wicked
IVY YELLING AT ZACK IN THE BACKGROUND WHILE CARMEN JUST DOES NOT ACKNOWLEDGE ANYTHING
Yeahhh well you say you’re never going back to vile island. And technically you are right
FIELD TRIP!
THE SHOCK WHEN BRUNT SAYS THAT DJHDSFD
PLS SHE BUMPED BELLUM ON THE WAY UP WHY DID SHE DO THAT
I love the role reversal that shadowsan and brunt do here. Shadowsan is expected to be The Worst and Brunt is carmen’s closest thing to a mother. But in actuality….brunt is a murderous spiteful little bitch and shadwsan is evolving into dadowsan
Jsdfads the look on shadowsan’s face. He knows that everything just got a looot more complicated for him
At least he’s kind of self aware right
Chase only being nice to her because he knows she’s smarter than he is is so funny. He drinks the most vaguely mysoginistic respect women juice on the planet
You have no idea how much the line “wow, foamy” has impacted my daily life. I literally say it every single time i brush my teeth. I can’t stop
NOT THE VILE BRAND LOGO ON THE TOOTHPASTE AND EVERYTHING
Chase lying on the floor looking like he just died of rabies is the funniest fucking thing
Tumblr media
American outlets in france 👍
Carmen did a whole costume change between noon and sunset
Mesmerized by the way that top tuft of hair she has blows in the wind. Wow. could watch that all day
I love how the message goes “SURRENDER WE HAVE CHASE DEVINEAUX” and carmen is just like. Wait. partner??? Travel partner??? 😌😌😌
She’s kind of chill about mentioning that vile is definetely going to kill devineaux and then capture her in this little plan of theirs
“Which is why I’ll need to be careful” she says, walking into a closed off basement with no preparation at all
Why the hell would they put where they were keeping him in the Evil Email they sent her wouldn’t that just set her up to try a rescue mission
Props to raf for making the most diverse array of clueless grunting noises I have ever heard in my life
I cANT HELP BUT LAUGH WHEN BRUNT SAYS “BONJOUR” LIKE THAT. SHES TRYING SO HARD TO BE SINISTER BUT SHE’S JUST TEXAN
Wheeze acme set the expectation for him to be kidnapped for employment reasons
ASK YOU WHAT he’s so stupid i love him
“I’ve seen your keycard” said with the exact same tone as. Someting. I don’t know i love how she says that she’s just like Yeah. I’ve seen it. Hah
Shadowsan and that damn sword for intimidation tactics
Oogh that twisted little smile when brunt goes to get the brain scrambler
Alternate episode where chase gets the hard way and carmen just walks in to a sad sack of broken bones on the floor
I love the almost impressed look on shadowsan’s face when he tells her that he’s singing the french national anthem. Like. of course he is
Interesting little detail that chase leans over and spits out the gag while carmen and company are just kind of making quips about him being tortured
I love he some good drunk but not drunk character tropes in cartoons. Drunk adora. Laughing gassed up anne. Sick luz. We didn’t get drunk carmen but we did get drunk chase and you know what I’m fine with that
THE WAY HIS EYES FLICK TO THEM WHEN HE SAYS BILE IS ALWAYS SO FUNNY TO ME
Love how shadowsan doesn’t care at all what happens to chase. He cares about carmen, but he’s still a VILE operative. She’s pretty much the only one he cares about until he’s spent a little while with TR
Mmm the music is so good in this ep as well
Thinking abt how if ivy was controlling red drone and carmen was sneaking off to rescue chase…that was zack in carmen cosplay who was dramatically standing ontop of the roof
The weird little petnames brunt uses for chase are also so funny
I have wanted to edit that shot of shadowsan running and jumping over chimneys onto the dinosaur game for SO LONG
Its cool how different the body types of the carmen decoys are. Its pretty easy to tell who’s who even with their faces not showing
IVYYYY
You can rock red, zack. I mean. You pick a devil costume out by yourself in s3 so clearly you know it too
I am shocked that she didn’t check the dumpster because. THATS WHERE I WOULD HAVE LOOKED. I guess she knows carmen’s style well enough- in s3 when they’re talking about catching carmen sandiego 101 zuko and luz mention that part of it was knowing that she always takes the high ground, anakin. And while this is zack the two of them are pretty well trained on carmen’s movements, clearly. They jump across the rooftops and everything just like she does to be convincing
JSHDGDS HE JUST GETS SLAMMED
BAIT N SWITCH…alright here we go
I like the little setup she has there. She brought the electrocuter thing because she had to get the cuffs off, but she uses it in the fight later too
Another little detail in the animation of chase’s sweat dripping to the floor when he falls
That little interaction between the two of them is so cool. Carmen doesn’t know what to expect, or how she can see or anything. OR that she knows exactly who she is
Pls its 4:30 in the morning the carmen team really do have a messed up sleep schedule
Sleepy julia in pajamas <3333
Me watching a france based murder mystery show: haha. Gendairme. I know how to pronounce that
It is a little inconsistent how carmen has so much difficulty dragging him out here…when these three meet again in mexico carmen just shoves him off the wrestling ring and into a chair with very little effort, although that may be evidence of her training and getting stronger over time.
Anyway, I’m exTREMELY excited for this fight. It is SO BRUTAL
THE BENDNG THE METAL IS. GOD
She’s so. Like. hulking??? Its so creepy how she moves, especially when she uses all these little petnames at the same time as she’s cracking her neck
THE CATCH OF HER FOOT IS SO GOOD GOD. brunt KNOWS her and even if she didn’t maybe expect her to have a gun she can catch her move pretty easily. This entire fight is full of brunt catching what carmen is going to do as she does it- except for the time with the taser
GOD the crashing into the chair augh that must have hurt so bad wheeze
Brunt is terrifying. She doesn’t slink around or do any acrobatics. She’s just like a final video game boss that has a tracker on your location and does not stop coming
GOD YEAH SEE. SHE CATCHES CARMEN’S KICK AND THEN JUST S L A M S HER INTO THAT SHELF
Carmen is again so used to the athletic, fast-moving operatives who usually match her in everything but cleverness, or use long distance weapons like paper star does. But brunt….it doesnt matter how smart carmen is when brunt can overpower her and fling her into the concrete like a bug
Goddd you can see carmen thinking about what the hell she can do. She knows strength isn’t going to work, so she has to find something else to distract brunt while she gets her baby taser
It makes sense actually now that the taser doesnt knock brunt out like a crackle rod would. Its meant for disabling hadcuff electronics, not seizing up the muscles of full grown woman
THE DESPERATION ON CARMEN’S FACE AS SHE ELECTROCUTES BRUNT IS SO GOOD. she knows this is not a good situation. She does. This is not her usual fighting style, obviously. She just wants to get out
The SMOKE when carmen gets electrocuted fuck
UNGH i love how different this fight is. Carmen stumbles on the run to the door and THAT is how you know she’s really in trouble. She’s just yanking on it trying to get out at this point. Its more instinct than battle- she’s just clawing at ANYTHING that could help her
And then her coat gets ripped. Every time her coat is off in this show she is not in a good spot. Becauseeee COLOR THEORY!! That red is her sign she’s got a chance, but when it comes off and gets destroyed everything. Is. green. Same thing happens in hot rocks of rio, so look out for that next week. It’s really interesting to notice once you find the patterns
MMGH WHEN SHE CLUTCHES HER SIDE AND THEN HER HAND GETS CRUSHED AND HER EYES WIDEN AND SHE JUST KNOWS
That gasp when she’s down on thr ground will be the death of me. And then the rattling on the grate just. Trying to get away and do ANYTHING to save herself from this person she once called a mother figure its SO angsty god i love it
There were NO breaks in that fight scene until carmen was on the ground with absolutely no choices left. It keeps the emotion UP and TENSE and it is FANTASTIC. We get a break once we cut back to shadowsan and the gang…player telling carmen she just needs to make it a little longer, because the cops are better than being dead
Also. zack just waking up with the banana peel on his head.
Why does player have the individual tracking locations of all the cops in the city
Seaosn one and season two were written and made pretty much at the same time, which was SUCH a strong choice. THIS FINALE sets up ALL OF SEASON TWO and SEASON TWO’S FINALE. AUGH. it is such a fantastic end to the season
I love that carmen gets to learn that it wasn’t this woman who rescued her from “the side of the road” here. She doesn’t have to live with that idea in her head….that she could be saved by the same woman who was trying to kill her
Instead she’s saved again by the one who really cared all along- since the moment he saved her from the fire
Please carmen looks so small on the ground there its so scary to watch
God that returning to vile island is for carmen a fate worse than death is so. Its so
Ive always been frustrated with carmen for not. I dont know. Lying?? Saying ok sure ill go back fine to buy herself some time, so that the cops could come in and help her. But i get it. Yknow?? Carmen isn’t that person. But boy would that have prevented a lot of the rib breakage that is about to go down
God. how limp carmen is in that moment. She flinched away when brunt goes to touch her face, but she just looks. Kind of regretful. She doesn’t really, i think, expect what is about to happen. She just thinks brunt is going to bat her around some more..
Also. how limp carmen is when brunt pulls her into the “hug” is also so scary. GOD i don’t know if its because she’s trying to prepare herself or if she’s in so much pain or if its because some part of her still trusts brunt
That tragic look almost into the camera when she realizes what brunt is doing is HAUNTING i love that sm
This is so dark btw. The foreshadowing way back in episode two for this when brunt hugs her so hard that she feels something crack to now, when that motherly role has twisted into. This
That last gasping breath carmen takes is another one thats just so. Augh. she is really and truly about to die
God the knowledge that at some point carmen just closed her eyes and let it happen because there was nothing else she could do is. What the fuck. Or maybe she just couldn’t breathe enough anymore to keep them open
SHADOWSAN!!
THE WAY SHE SCRAMBLES BACK AS SOON AS BRUNT GOES LIMP IS. god i love that shot. She’s so. Worn down at that point she’s more like a wild animal than anything ig. Just trying to get away get away get away
And then the way she, still gasping for breath and her voice choked with pain, insults shadowsan because her voice is the only defense she has against him right now
Pls i love shadowsan he doesn’t know how to not be intimidating. Running at her with a sword. “I did not come here to take you back.” this moment scared me SO BAD when i was 13 watching this for the first time. I expected it to cut back to her lying on the floor with some grevious injury, maybe to be narrowly saved by her team but frantically rushed to the hospital or something.
The shadowsan twist is one of the best I think I’ve seen. Its set up and foreshadowed, enough that you could maybe see it coming on first and have all those little “ohh” moments on later watches. When you really step back and say, “what is the consequence of shadowsan doing all of this?” its carmen being able to escape and not becoming a vile operative. Its. yeah. I dont know. Its so good
AUGH the fear on her face. He steps over coach’s pretty much lifeless body, draws his sword. All she has is a fucking wrench
Player gripping his monitor and screaming her name is SO,, UNGH HE THINKS SHE’S DEAD
And the way they cut back with just the limp bodies around them, as shadowsan sheathes his blade. They knew what they were doing obviously
MM AND THEN THE LITTLE CHIME OF CARMEN’S MOTIF WHEN WE SEE THAT SHE’S ALIVE AND SAFE
THAT IS A QUESTION pls i’ve made fun of shadowsan here before because like. Yes. please do follow me into the dark hole no questions asked. I Will Not Stab You once we are at a more convenient and private location that you have moved yourself to. Or transport you back to VILE. just trust me okay carmen follow me right now
LOCK US UP,,, YEAH. REACH US. i love that little…its so small. The us and the little admission of how VILE works (hey- also sets up season THREE’s finale. wild). Yes yes yes.
I love how shadowsan doesn’t want to admit it. But they have been in it together
GOD YEAH AND THEN. SHE DROPS THE WRENCH and THATS how you know she trusts him, and understands. Thats her last line of defense gone
“It was you….you were the one who found me.”
“YOU ARE IN NO CONDITION TO LEAVE HERE ON YOUR OWN” i love how shouty he is in this season he doesn’t have a gentle voice. He doesnt really. Know how to be vulnerable
But he tries. He tries so hard. He just. He says please and reaches out to her
DOOGY
Girlie im sorry but opening that grate wider would not have made brunt fit any better
That mass of flashing lights in the city is such a good way to show how far they went. Also. why did shadowsan make carmen walk like three miles with her fucked up ribs wheeze. He made her climb some stairs and everything
But he’s soooo gentle with her when they’re walking its so sweet. He lets her lean on him and helps her down to the ground so she can rest…makes sure she is safe before he says anything else and tries to get her medical attention. He is the dadowsan
Ungh gina. Gina gina please. Please put any kind of emotion into “argentina tell me everything now” like thats KIND of an emotional line..,, urgh. The problem i have with gina i think is that she is a fine ACTOR but being a VOICE ACTOR is a LOT DIFFERENT THAN THAT. she doesnt have all her little nice facial expressions and stuff she has carmen who is already inexpressive as is. So when she says that line it just sounds so flat
He’s only lying about it a little bit, really honestly
Shadowsan: a jerk
“You knew what they’d do to me when I said no” is such an underrated line i love that one
THE COAT WAS EMPTY!!
Carmen sounds so much like black sheep when she says “i knew it” and I love that so much. I don’t know if that was a directing choice given to gina but it was a good one. Also carmen forgetting her ribs are fucked up lmaoo
FIRST SHADOWSAN SMILE WHEN HE SAYS HE KNWS CARMEN WOULD ENJOY PROVING THAT TO HERRR that is the moment i think when he really becomes human :)))
Tumblr media
She got my posture fr
That shot of shadowsan walking away from her as the police lights flash between them and the architecture frames everything is soo pretty
I guess i scare easy when i see a drawn sword is such a good line its so funny. i would too! Maybe he didnt have to extend the ruse all the way until he was a mile away from the school and no one was in sight except carmen herself but alright
IT WAS HIMMM WITH THE HELICOPTER I LOVE THAT REVEAL
NO WAY!!!! I love that its kind of a black sheepism
Shadowsan is like yeah i was happy you escaped but GIRLIE I DIDNT THINK YOU WOULD START FIGHTING CRIME LMAO???
The lug jsdfhds
Julia’s like not chief. Not chief with the random carmen accusations too
Used it to bait him?? How would she have done that?? She’s like in the cheese and breath mints store and she goes over the intercom like “chase devineaux please report to the shadowy death basement! We have your keycard <3”
AND LEFT WITH AN EVIL VILE MASTERMIND KSHGDFJGDS player is so right for that
That shot of her sitting and talking to player as the sun rises behind her is also beautiful i love that shot
Ahhh the way she gets up so carefully because of her injuries its so good
“A present” okay its okay you can tell him carmen
I HAVE A FEELING WE’RE GOING TO HAVE MORE CAPERS TO PLOT WOOHOO SEASON TWO BABYYYYY
ONCE MORE the shot of her standing there and the camera zooming way out is ALSO gorgeous its my blog header actually
YEAHH AND THEN THE CREDITS MUSICCC
God i cant believe we’re already done with season one!! I am SO EXCITED for season two- its my favorite out of all of the seasons and its where things REALLY get juicy. We’ve got the setup and standard formula out and we can start playing around with dynamics, backstories, history, new cast, lore, character development…yes yes yes yes yes i am so excited!!!
Love this episode, solid and fantastic end to a seaosn, which cs finales usually are. Alright- with the feeling that I’m going to have more capers to react to, this is me signing off of season 1 for cs weekly!!

DRAMA REVIEW | You Are Desire (2023)
From the very start I was very impressed with this drama. The first episode felt grounded in reality and presented all the main characters as young adults behaving like such but also with a level of maturity that felt respectful. Sometimes youth dramas don't know how to balance the growing pains, friendship and romance but You Are Desire does it perfectly.
Xia Feng Yan created a story with solid development based on actual growing from well rounded characters that act and react in ways that feel natural. I am amazed this is her first project and I will keep an eye on her because she has a bright future.
Deng Ke (My Huckelberry Friends) also started in the industry as a screenwriter before transitioning into directing, so it was a perfect fold for Xia's story. He understood the assignment and complemented the script with beautiful cinematography, camera movements and choice of cast.
This drama could have died in the hands of a lesser cast but Zhou Yiran and Zhuang Dafei carried the drama flawlessly. Most of the story centers around them and how they interact with others when loneliness has been a part of their young lives for a long time. The supporting cast were also at their best, each with their own lives and struggles which made them well rounded individuals and not an artifact to push the leads's story.
All of these elements created a beautiful group of people dealing with different experiences. A slice of life drama where we understand the world is not always fair and parents make mistakes; where people need to learn to grieve in a healthy way. That families can all look very different from each other and that's okay as long there's love. That you don't always pass the university exam and your workplace might suck. A world where you fall in love and support one another as you grow together with a clear understanding of each other. That life can be sweeter when you are surrounded of good people who truly appreciate you.
Overall, You Are Desire it's a wonderful story that enjoyed from the very first episode to the last one. Criminally underrated, for sure, as I don't understand how more people are not talking about what is probably one of 2023's best cdramas.

Loki has worn many hats since his initial appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2011.
In the first “Avengers” movie, the God of Mischief, played by Tom Hiddleston, descended on New York City with an alien army. In “Thor: Ragnarok,” he teamed up with his brother to protect the people of Asgard, morphing from villain to antihero. And now, in the second season of the “Loki” television series, which premieres Thursday on Disney+, he embarks on a new and unlikely mission — saving the Time Variance Authority.
Season 2 of “Loki” takes place in the aftermath of the mayhem from the first installment, in which Loki and Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino), a free-spirited Loki variant, arrived at the end of history. There, they discovered He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors), the time-bending scientist who masterminded the T.V.A. to prevent another war between the many variants of himself.
When Sylvie stabs He Who Remains, she plunges the T.V.A. and the Sacred Timeline into chaos, unleashing the multiverse. As Season 2 commences, new worlds branch from the timeline, T.V.A. forces splinter into factions and Loki grapples with a problem called time-slipping as he is caught in a tug of war between past and present.
To preserve the T.V.A., Loki reunites with familiar characters — including the wry Mobius (Owen Wilson) and Hunter B-15 (Wunmi Mosaku) — as well as new ones, such as O.B., a T.V.A. fix-it man played by the Oscar-winning actor Ke Huy Quan, and Victor Timely, a 19th-century inventor and Kang variant played by Majors. (Majors is facing charges related to a misdemeanor assault case after being arrested in March in New York. Filming for Season 2 of “Loki” had already finished before the arrest.)
With the original director Kate Herron leaving the project, Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, who helped direct “Moon Knight,” became the new lead directors on a majority of the episodes. Eric Martin, who helped write some of the first season’s episodes, has become head writer.
In a video call from his writing studio in Los Angeles, Martin spoke about crafting the plot and characters of Season 2 and working with Quan in his new role.

What were some of the themes you had in mind as you wrote the script for this show?
I think the most important thing to me is just character and emotionality. I wanted to have everything driven by the wants and needs of our characters and really just focus on their emotional journeys first and foremost. That is the basis for all the drama: Who are our people? Where are their heads at? What do they need? Those are the dramatic questions that drive everything.
As for themes, we still have the ideas of free will and destiny that continue on from Season 1. But for new things, I think order versus chaos is a continual theme. And then a power vacuum. What happens in a power vacuum? I think like the overarching concept of Season 2 is, “You break it, you buy it.” That’s what happened at the end of Season 1. They broke the system. And so now they own this nebulous thing, and it needs to reform and become something new.
How do you see Loki evolving as a character through the first season and into the second?
Season 1, and like Episode 1 especially, scrambled his brains. He sees his own death by the end of that. He realizes that even the infinity stones are pointless at this new level of things. And so he had to completely reset and figure out who he was. And so I think Season 1 we see him make this hero turn although he is still an antihero or villain. But I think Loki had kind of forgotten who he was, and Season 2 is like rebalancing that. So we still have this hero Loki, but we’re getting back to the meat and potatoes of who this guy is. We’re getting back to the God of Mischief. So we see him using all those talents of the God of Mischief but as a hero now.
All these characters are so intertwined across multiple different movies and TV shows in the MCU. So, I’m curious, how much creative freedom do you have in writing for this particular show?
We’re fortunate that we really have our own little sandbox here where we’re able to be really creative and branch off into other directions without stepping on other projects. And some of that’s by design, while some of that is just what we found along the way. In terms of actual marching orders, there have been certain points where it’s like, “Oh, you know what, this character is being used by another project,” and you just have to pivot. But in terms of our drama and our story and where we’re taking our characters, it really is just following them and their needs and proving them on the page. And if we can prove that then nobody steps in and says you need to do something different.
The interactions between Loki and Mobius and between Loki and Sylvie were captivating in Season 1. What should we expect from those interactions in Season 2?
Let me start with Loki and Mobius. They’re a lot of fun to write because they’re an odd couple. They are very different in how they do everything. They are on the same side. They’re on the same page, but they’re reading different books. They do not have the same path to getting the same thing done, and that’s what’s fun. You have that friction to play with, but they are on the same side. So scene to scene, there’s so much fun to have with them.
And with Loki and Sylvie, they’re a little bit of friends, couple, I’m not sure how you even want to look at them. These are two people that have had this intense experience together, and they split apart and went separate ways. Inevitably they’re going to come together, but how have they each changed? Where have they each gone? And are they going to be able to mesh again?
ImageTom Hiddleston as Loki, Ke Huy Quan as O.B. and Owen Wilson as Mobius.Credit...Marvel/Disney+
So O.B. is definitely an important character in Season 2. What was it like to create this character?
O.B. was born out of a desire to see the rest of the T.V.A. I feel like Season 1 we existed on a couple different levels, but this is a massive place. Like, what else is there? Who else is there? And as I was getting into the first episode of Season 2, I really started to think about who’s the person who is down there in the engine room of the ship. He’s the one who is looking over everything. He’s the fix-it guy. I just started to imagine a guy who was so busy running the machinery that he just doesn’t see anybody. But he loves his job. It very much is like the seven dwarfs and Snow White. They’re just whistling while they work because they love it.
And so Loki and Mobius show up there, and they’re like the first visitors O.B. has had in years. O.B. is just happily doing his job. It really crystallized in my head who that person was — somebody who loved his job. That conception of the character stuck and stayed. And when Ke came on, he just added a layer of sweet humanity to it that I thought brought a whole different level to what O.B. is.
How was Ke brought on for this role?
That was Kevin Feige. He saw him in “Everything Everywhere All at Once” and Kevin fell in love with O.B. on the page, and I think he just saw him and then he’s like, “This is our O.B. He’ll just step right in and be perfect for this.” The first day Ke came, he hadn’t started yet. He just wanted to visit the set and say hi. That’s who Ke is, he wants to know everybody. And we got to talking and had lunch together and it was just this nice lunch talking about his character and getting to hear him dig in and get under the skin of that character and how he was going to approach it. And all just over some cold Chinese noodles.

Tom Hiddleston Teases Loki Season 2 Mysteries
Speaking with Good Morning America during D23 Expo, Loki stars Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson teased what's next in the MCU series' sophomore season on Disney+.
At the end of Loki Season 1, the God of Mischief was transported into a different version of Time Variance Authority, one where Kang the Conqueror is its leader.
When asked if the events of Season 2 will start immediately at that cliffhanger, Hiddleston played coy, instead teasing that there's a
"whole bunch of questions that need answers:"GMA: “[Loki]’s been put into a new [TVA]. Do we start right there? I guess this is the first question.” Hiddleston: “Season 1 finishes with Loki arriving back in the TVA after the very distressing confrontation with Sylvie. He has a whole bunch of questions that need answers.”
Wilson chimed in, using Talking Heads' Once in a Lifetime as a reference, to which Hiddleston added by shouting out lyrics from that song as well: Wilson:
“It is a little bit like that Talking Heads song for you, right? ‘This is not my beautiful life’ and ‘You may ask yourself, how did I get here?’" Hiddleston: ‘You may ask yourself how did I get here?’
The pair's comments were actually similar to what they shared during Marvel Studios' D23 panel, with Wilson confirming that Season 2 will ultimately answer how Loki and the rest of the gang ended up in this new TVA: Wilson: “It’s a little bit like that Talking Heads song, ’This is not my beautiful life… How did I get here?’” Hiddleston: “How did I get here.” Wilson: “And everybody asks that question at one time or another. In Season 2, we’re going to answer it. ‘How did I get here,’ yes.”
In a separate interview with Stage Right Secrets, Hiddleston alongside Loki Season 2 star Sophia Di Martino and new cast member Ke Huy Quan revealed more details about the show's sophomore run.
The MCU veteran first expressed his excitement about Quan's involvement while also touching on how Season 1 was a "very meaningful experience:
"Hiddleston: “It’s pretty amazing, isn’t it? Season 2. We get to do a Season 2. Yeah, we get this guy.” Quan: “With Season 2, you’ve got a new cast member! It’s so cool. I’m so excited.” Hiddleston: ” Ke Huy Quan in Season 2. And of course, familiar, and returning, and also some new characters. But it is amazing. I mean on Season 1, we had the most extraordinary time. It was very meaningful experience for all of us, and the response from the audience, and from the fans was also very powerful and meaningful for us.”
Di Martino also said that it's "nice" to give fans "some more" while Hiddleston boldly claimed that they've "got more story to tell" in Season 2:
Di Martino: “It’s nice to just give people some more. Answer some questions, and just yeah.” Hiddleston: “The story isn’t over. We’ve got some got more story to tell.”
Will Loki Confront Kang in Season 2?
The confirmation that Loki Season 2 will answer why the titular anti-hero ended up on a different TVA is a sigh of relief for fans who have been on a speculation spree ever since the finale.
It's reasonable to assume that this question will be answered during its first few episodes, considering that set photos already showed Loki working with this version of the TVA in different missions.
It's possible that the premiere would revolve around Loki trying to convince Mobius and Hunter B-15 that a Multiversal war is coming, and it's all because of this TVA's new leader, Kang.
There's also a chance that the God of Mischief would end up confronting Kang in the early episodes, but he could be wary of how powerful he is so he decides to "play along" with this TVA.
One way or another, Season 2 is poised to end with a clash between Loki and Kang, but the titular character needs to play his cards right in order to survive and potentially warn Earth-616's Avengers about the impending Multiversal War.
Loki Season 2 is set to debut in Summer 2023 on Disney+.

What about some merlin questions are you up for that?
I'd like to know what your favorite episode or story arc is and also if you could write a canon compliant alternate universe fic that would come true which episode or moment would that be?
OHHHHHHH OKAY omg idk if this will be long but. if it is im sorry
my favourite episode has changed over time. it used to be the eye of the phoenix episode (bc of gwaine, ofc, but also bc competent/smart arthur is nice to see every now and again etc), but i think now its 2.08 (which im sure no one saw coming😫) however special shoutout to 1.09, 2.12, 3.07, and 5.13 bc 🫶🫶🫶🫶 (i also want to give SOME props to the troll eps because while they do make me uncomfortable and i think theyre ehhh… i also think some of the best writing for arthurs characterization came from them so. sigh. you win some u lose some i guess)
my answer for everything else sort of branches off from 2.08 being my favourite. i love the history between nimueh and uther and ygraine and i looovveeeee all the complications and twists and implications that come with arthur being born of magic. that the thing uther has raised him to hate and fight and whatever is directly responsible for his birth and so very inherent to him as a person—not just bc of his destiny but because its literally responsible for his existence. like we always talk about how big of a hypocrite uther obviously is but i dont think ive ever seen anyone talk about how deeply fucked up it is that uther has such a deep rooted hatred for the thing that—sure, may have killed his wife (though thats his own fault) but also—made the birth of his SON possible. and then made his son hate it and fear it as well. (and just the fact that it never quite stuck, anyway.)
i really like the story arc of 2.08 and how arthur proves himself noble and worthy to morgause just by virtue of being himself and sticking to his ideals. i love the interaction he has with ygraine (and the fact that it could be ygraine or it could be not ygraine or it could be mostly ygraine but not fully). i love that the first thing he says to her is sorry. i love love love getting a glimpse into how arthur thinks of his mom and the relationship he has with her and her ghost and so on. just everything about that interaction (from the hug to the reveal to the sudden loss to the lighting to the fact tHAT HE LOOKS SO MUCH LIKE HER to her saying she loves him shes proud of him uthers betrayal doesnt matter she wouldve given her life willingly anyway) is so so so good to me.
i also like the confrontation with uther. i cant tell you which one i like more because the idea of arthur having such vulnerable and significant interactions with BOTH his parents maybe a day apart is overwhelming even for me but. theyre both excellent in different ways. i love how cold he is at first when confronting uther and i love how he figures uthers hypocrisy out in 2 seconds flat and i love how he progressively loses the cold control and becomes so betrayed and angry and HURT and sksbsksnksjsks just. 2.08 is honestly one of the best episodes ever. i could go on about arthur in the scene with uther but like i dont even know how to articulate it. “you speak of honour and nobility. you’re nothing but a hypocrite and a liar.” really just speaks for itself. (ALSO THE FIGHT SCENE WHERE HES LITERALLY FOCUSED AND ASSESSING HIS FATHER LIKE AN ENEMY AND UTHER FUCKING AIMS TO TAKE HIS HEAD OFF EVEN THOUGH THAT MOVE IS NOT NECESSARY IN ORDER TO PROTECT HIMSELF? LIKE HE LITERALLY GOES FOR A KILL AIM AT HIS OWN SON TWICE DESPITE SAYING I DONT WANT TO FIGHT YOU AND IM UNARMED AND BLAH BLAH BLAH) (like this episode is great for arthur and thats the main reason why i like it so much, but its also a very telling episode for uthers character. LIKE HE HAS A CHANCE TO COME CLEAN AND JUST FUCKING LIES ANYWAY AND ACTS LIKE THE VICTIM OHHHHHHH IM sorry im getting angry. love the ep but the anger i feel because of how they chose to end it will keep me rolling in my grave).
that being said, if i COULD write a canon compliant fic (i mean u can find two here) i would change the ending to that episode. i dont care if merlins there and just doesnt lie or if merlin somehow is absent, all i would change is that arthur would not be lied to again. i would make it so that he knows the truth. thats it. i dont care if he kills uther (to be honest i dont think he wouldve anyway but maybe thats just me) i dont care about literally anything else id just. id let him have the truth he’s entitled to. and id let him have that memory of his mother.

Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina (In Order!)
I got annoyed that the warnings were out of order, so this is just a copy-paste of other people's warnings in order chronologically for the show :) hopefully I didn't miss anything, it's just easier if it's all in one post and chronological!
Part 1 Episode 2 At about 54:25, when Sabrina is in the principal’s office and the clock stops, the camera turns to Principal Hawthorne and he’s foaming at the mouth. I don’t find it triggering but it might be for some.
Part 1 Episode 3 right at the beginning ish, there’s a scene where Sabrina v*s into the toilet, no visual and pretty unrealistic audio but I still didn’t like it
Part 1 Episode 6 at around 18 minutes, Sabrina is talking to Uncle Jesse. He begins to r* and at about 18:30 he projectile v*s. It’s quite graphic but also very fake looking. This last for a few seconds and then he’s foaming at the mouth. Skip ahead to ~19 minutes.
After Sabrina asks him if he’s gone, she begins choking and r*ing. This lasts for about 45 seconds, but nothing ever happens.
For the rest of the episode, Uncle Jesse has some dried v* on his face.
Towards the end of the episode, at about 39 minutes, after the witches have thrown stuff on his face and stopped chanting, Jesse leans over and v*s again. Skip to 39:30ish.
Part 1 Episode 8
After Ambrose yells at Sabrina and he walks away, Agatha emerges from the ground and v*s up what looks like mud. Full visual and audio and it lasts a few minutes. Skip ahead to about 45:40.
Part 1 Episode 9 When Prudence and her sisters are praying, Agatha begins coughing and Prudence asks what’s wrong. As soon as she asks, Agatha leans over and v*s/coughs up more of the dark black mud stuff. This lasts for a few seconds. Skip ahead to about 7:05.
Part 2 Episode 1 Not safe! In the Boil and Bubble challenge Sabrina chugs a potion and almost imediately after (33:30) she starts g*ing and then v* into a bucket. It’s dark but there is visual which just looks like dark blood, really, and pretty realistic audio. Happens twice (until 33:55) after which the scene changes. Sabrina says she thinks she’s gonna p* again but she doesn’t.
Part 2 Episode 2 Two potentially triggering scenes
When Sabrina says ‘you should really be doing this with Dorcas’ and stands up to leave, the dark lord appears and gestures at her (16:50). Sabrina g*s. She makes wheezing and ch*king noises until she passes out (17:15)
Later, the academy students are rehearsing, and as Zelda compliments Nicholas on his latin she begins to ch*ke and g* (25:13). A toad leg pokes out of her mouth with some mud and she turns away and continues g*ing until she turns back with a toad in her hand (25:37)
Part 2 Episode 5 Two warnings
After Hilda tells her guest there’s cyanide in the biscuits (30:25), there’s some off-screen ugly ch*king noises.
Later in the club, Ambrose collapses and is helped to the bar (around 44:40) where he starts r*ing and t* u* a mouse, full visual and sound (finished around 45:00 though you can still see the mouse on the bar for the whole scene)
Part 2 Episode 6 The first scene occurs after Harvey shows up with a gun at the Spellman home. A few seconds after he tells Sabrina about Roz’s vision, suddenly cuts to Wardwell v*, full visual and audio. It’s really sudden with no warning, so I’d fast forward through the scene with Harvey and stop when Wardwell is sitting on the bathroom floor.
The second instance happens towards the end when one of the warlocks in the church attempts to repeat the angel’s prayer. He v* blood for a couple seconds, visual and audio. Pretty easy to see coming.
Part 3 Episode 2 At 10:50 a tide of bugs comes out of satan’s mouth. No sounds and it doesn’t look too bad, but just in case anyone might be sensitive to it
Part 3 Episode 6 Sabrina raids the fair and summons the powers of the hedge witches. I think it’s after she calls upon Sycorax that she calls upon Pesta, the witch of disease, which causes a couple men to projectile v*. I only caught the visual out of the corner of my eye but it looked REALLY graphic. ): It lasts a few seconds. If you want to avoid, I would fast forward a bit after you hear her call for Sycorax.
Part 4 Episode 3 All episodes of season 4 of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina are safe with the exception of episode 3, “The Weird”. About halfway through the episode Sabrina is attempting to get rid of the entity while holding a bucket with a fish tank behind her and Abrose chants something that includes a line alluding to making the host s*. I muted and shut my eyes so I’m not sure if anything happens but it was over within a minute if it did.
