Collection of Journal from the first Grand Duke of Kalos
[These are the Common translations of the journals that belonged to the first Grand Duke of Kalos that were recently discovered. Not all words translate directly into Common as the journals themselves were written in an old dialect of Kalosian, so liberties were taken to ensure the most concrete translation.
There are also a collection of other miscellaneous works included, such as poems in these journals.]
Given that everything that I had given and all that I had gained, there is not a single thing that I would have exchanged for the life I lead. My people, who are often forgotten in the mess that is the land of which we live, are those most effected by this. Yet their voices are lost. Nobility, for all that they speak of righteousness by the people, do not include my people. And I will never forget that for as long as I breathe. Perhaps I am foolish to think that peace would be achieved after the war, yet how hopeful I am to want more from others when kindness is basic courtesy.
And it is that same burning flame that I find the will to live on when others did not.
I have seen things that have broken others and still survived. I do not know if it were my own luck, my ability to endure the worst of the world or the both of those things, and I do not know what is truth of my life and what has become of it.
But I know deep in my soul of which will truths are right and which are not, humbled by the chances given by the one who lives eternally. And I know that nothing will ever change that.
Tumblr media
Blind to the ideals of which lines you dare cross, I am sick of you. How pitiful that you seek to be true when all you speak are falsehoods and deceit. You create your lines upon your pandering masses of which cannot deny you, for you hold their attention and the power to destroy them as you please. There is nothing good of you, nothing good made from you, and everything to be learned by the hubris in which you stake your claim. Between you and a common Magikarp when one needs to compare one's intelligence, both of you jump at the opportunity to try and become something of which you are not, yet only one of you is capable of changing as brightly as the rising sun.
Hungry for whatever scraps the world will be willing to spare and yet give nothing back in turn, one has to wonder that when you decided to be given a mouth by whoever decided to be create the you that stands so blatantly before the masses as though you rule the world, did the world itself regret ever giving you a glance that which you took falsely as permission to do as you wished?
Tumblr media
The coming of ages
spring forth new
lives that flourish
beyond the reach of
mortal hands tainted by
time.
Longingly I wait for you
among the flowers where we whispered
dreams and hopes in a world that
you and I knew would never accept them, yet you
dared and did so until
the ashes of our dreams lit the sky
impossible and immortalized.
Until then my heart, in our
next lives and forevermore
time and time again, I wait for you.
Tumblr media
Softly you lie upon the grave
burning a bright
red and blue
light that lit through the life
you spared that day
saved that day
and yet still, I
waited for you.

Submas/PLA Fic: Electric Trains are the Future Chapter 1 - Koraidoning into Hope
Current Chapter - Next Chapter (2)
I finally am writing and posting the large fic I’ve been mentioning all month, and so Chapter 1 is posted! This fic was inspired by a post from @fluorescent-air-fresheners with the specific post in the fic itself.
Summary: Akari attempts to summon Ingo's forgotten brother from the future, and finds that plucking people from time is much harder than anticipated. Ingo finds himself altering course with Akari's newest attempts at help, and conducting personal safety checks with the new visitor. Elesa is ecstatic to find her second favorite conductor (the other one never disappeared on her, no he didn't), but now worries on how to get home. And Emmet has lost someone once again. Word Count (Ch. 1): 2057
Read it here or on AO3! I’ll be cross-posting the chapters, though once I get more post, binge reading will be best on AO3.
Bright lights, loud voices, and sudden sounds were par for the course for Elesa’s life. Between an electrifying rise from challenger to Gym Leader, and her glass shattering debut on the catwalk a few years after her initial Gym challenge, and her two beloved twins building their dream under Nimbasa, it was all normal to her.
On the catwalk, the spotlights came down upon her. The bright lights, the attention. As she dropped her outer coat to show off her new outfit. The loud voices, the crowd. Then the air cannons lining the catwalk, shooting confetti into the air. The sudden noises, the flair.
Wai-
The air around her crackles with lightning, swirling around her and above her. Bright lights, ethereal… Screams filled the air, some calling for her, some calling others away, some asking if it was part of the show. Loud voices, panicked… The sound of glass shattering as Elesa watched the world itself break into a void. Sudden noises.
Danger.
She was instantly pulled through.
It wasn’t a long fall, but landing on her butt was enough to drop her flat on her back, no air in her lungs for a moment. She was on sand, from what she could grasp with her hand, which meant she was going to need to wash her hair out three or four times in the shower, and this new coat, as fluffy and warm as it was, was fucking ruined. ‘ What a Magikarp of a day, ’ she thought to herself, sitting up and rubbing forehead to clear a growing headache.
「ギラティナ に 頼めば よかった...(1)」Oh, she spoke in Kantonian, so tha- Wait. Giratina? What was this person saying abou-
Holy Carp.
A teenage girl stood in front of her, dressed in a blue uniform of some kind, sweating nervously and looking like she just got caught stealing from her parents. But that wasn’t what killed her train of thought. This girl had DIALGA and PALKIA standing behind her, also looking like they were caught stealing from their parents (Arceus? Bah, she’s not a theologist). Palkia even looked away, almost sheepishly, and scratched at its chin.
“Hold up,” Elesa finally manages to sputter out. “What just happened? Where am I?” The question seemed to snap the girl in front of her to attention, with her focusing on Elesa now.
「は?ガラル?(2)」She pauses for a moment, trying to think before speaking back up. “I should have expected someone from Galar, he talks just like the professor.” She shakes her head and shakes both of her fists in front of her like a kid who is trying to cheer a friend up. Was this kid trying to cheer her up?
“Hold up, stop, please,” Elesa begs as she stands up, rubbing her temples to fight off the headache. “First, I’m from Unova,” that elicited a soft ohhh from the girl, “and secondly, who talks like the professor,” the girl raises a hand to speak before Elesa cuts her off to finish, “and third,  why the Muk am I here?!”
The girl looks down at her shoes in dejection, and Elesa can’t help but feel a little bad for starting to lose her cool. “Ok, also, who are you, mystery girl who kidnaps people with the help of literal gods?” She glances back up at Dialga and Palkia, who were trying to listen in and quickly turned away from her glare. At least they had the decency to look at least a little ashamed the entire time she was looking at them.
It takes the girl only a second to perk back up, waving politely to her kidnapping victim. “Hi, my name is Akari! I was using these two,” she says, not even pausing her speech as she points up at Dialga and Palkia, who, Elesa wants to remind her, are gods, “to look for my Uncle’s brother! At least, I think it's his brother. I, uh, accidentally got you, because you might have been nearby? Sorry?”
This girl was going to be the death of her. Elesa grabs the side of her head and grips it, ruffling her own hair in the process. “And why on earth do you think someone from Unova sounds like someone from Galar? Our accents aren’t anything alike, like, c’mon! I say Tuesday, not Chewsday!”
Akari doesn’t know why she’s making this point, and neither does Elesa. “Laventon does not say Chewsday! No one says either, we don’t speak Galarian, I only learned it in school!” She throws her hands into the air and stomps around a bit, her pet legendaries backing up to give her space. “All I know is that Laventon is from Galar, and Uncle Ingo talks like him, and”
Akari honestly kept ranting for a few moments, but Elesa stopped listening. She said her Uncle Ingo. She was trying to get his brother, and got her instead. This girl was trying to steal Emmet?
Elesa steps forward and grabs Akari by the shoulders, stopping her in place. “Stop. Ingo. Wears black, frowns all the time and never smiles properly, really loud? Am I right?” Akari quietly nods, smiling. Elesa lets go to put her hands in front of her face, then turns to walk onto the grass to keep herself stable in these heels. “Me and Emmet have been looking for Ingo for 3 years, and he’s here in… Where are we, even?!”
“Oh, that’s easy! We’re in Hisui!”
“That explains nothing. What is Hisui? You were speaking Kantonian, so is it in that area? I know they tend to teach Galarian around there, too.”
That seemed to have killed Akari’s smile, and she scratches at her cheek a bit as she looks away. “It’s Sinnoh? And roughly around, I think 1870? Give or take a few years?” Elesa can feel her face pale at that. That confirms Emmet’s theory that he was sent to the past.
Who knew that the joke that the three had shared of Ingo being an old soul because of that old Sinnoh guy they read about on Bulbapedia was correct.
Akari seemed to take Elesa pausing as shock, considering she quickly went into a flurry of motion and speech. “But don’t worry! I think I can send you back, I just gotta have Dialga and Palkia open another rift, and hopefully you won’t even be gone for long, and-”
“Take me to Ingo.”
Akari froze in place, and then smiled wide and pumped her fists excitedly. “So you do know him, awesome!” She returns her Legendaries to their Pokeballs, and starts walking backwards away from the beach. “He’s actually in Jubilife right now, but, oh, wait, do you know Kantonian? We’ve been speaking Galarian, but it’s mostly just Laventon and Ingo and I think Kamado that speak it, but I can translate for you!”
Elesa starts power walking after the girl, silently cursing both the heels she was wearing, and that her Kantonian was actually pretty rusty. The twin’s mother used to keep her up on it, but they haven’t been gossiping as much recently. It takes a moment for her to turn the cogs in her head before responding to the girl in Kantonian. “I am a bit rusted, but I do know it.”
Akari’s eyes light up and her speech starts racing now that she is using her native language, causing Elesa to struggle to keep up with her words, let alone her actual pace. “Perfect! Ingo has the same accent now that I think about it, so it makes sense that the two of you are from the same area. So, what is the place he’s from like? He still doesn’t really remember anything, even after all of our battles!”
Doesn’t really remember?
“Wait, he doesn’t remember anything?” Elesa says, kicking her heels off and running up after Akari, ignoring the occasional rock digging into her feet. “My Ingy doesn’t remember me, or Emmet, or his parents? His subway ?” She brings up her hand and bites her thumb knuckle in worry. If Ingo didn’t remember his beloved trains, then he really didn’t have anything in his memory banks at all.
“I mean, he has the metaphors? But he definitely had to be explained what a train was by Laventon one time,” Akari says, slowing down so that Elesa doesn’t have to rush, “and then he started rattling off facts about the trains that Laventon was telling him about.” Hearing that did ease the fear in Elesa’s mind, though it still left her worried.
After all, hearing that your boyfriend has no recollection of you not only hurts, but makes explaining the whole polycule web much more complicated.
The pair wind through a small village full of wooden houses, which fits the timeframe that Akari told her. After all, this is less than a decade after the Log Cabin Champion in Unova, apparently. Akari was talking the entire way, but Elesa honestly was tuning her out. She seemed like a good kid, excitable and apparently impulsive, but she cares for Ingo, and that’s enough for Elesa to want to give her a chance.
The pair passed by some farmland, with several of the villagers pausing to look at and gossip about Elesa. She’s used to this, she can deal with the aftermath later, they can’t be worse than the paparazzi. As they cross the bridge, she can see him. After 3 years, he still has the coat and the cap, so it wasn't hard to see him, even if he was slouching like an emo kid in high school.
Akari calls out to Ingo, who seems to be mid-conversation with a tall woman with red hair, but Elesa has broken into a sprint, her braids and coat trailing behind her. Her target turned to greet his friend, and froze in place upon seeing her.
Before he could move or say anything, Elesa threw her arms around him, burying her face into his coat to try and hold back the tears. After a moment, she pushes back, feeling that Ingo wasn’t hugging back and not wanting to make him uncomfortable, but tears were now threatening to gush. “You don’t remember me, do you?” It doesn’t even occur to her that she asked that in Galarian.
Ingo’s frown deepens, an expression she recognizes as him trying to recall information. Behind him, she barely registers that his conversation partner looks towards someone else and signals them away. But Elesa’s attention is on Ingo as he slowly shakes his head, his eyebrows furrowed.
“No. No memories have come into station, though…” He responds in the same language, and then gently reaches up and brushes a hand against her jaw. “Your face. Your jaw, your eyes, they ring bells in my head, but there seems to have been a delay.” He pulls his hand back and lowers his cap. “I’m sorry. I want to know you, but your cab is still unknown.”
She hears Akari step up behind her, but Elesa doesn’t give her any mind as the tears break their dam and begin to pour down her face. Of course. Of course it’s not easy. As Elesa crouches down to curl up and cry, she registers that Akari is explaining that she summoned Elesa here, and that she had hoped that she could help with his memories. She was sorry it didn’t work.
Why was she sorry? She didn’t kidnap Ingo, she just kidnapped her. Oh, poor Emmet.
Ingo’s next statement pulled her back. “She is quite lovely, you’re right Miss Akari.” Elesa blinks a few times to stop the tears, and shakes her head before standing back up straight. “I wish I could remember more about her. I remember her Pokemon, but…” He remembered her Pokemon? She looks down and sees that her team were attached to the edge of her sleeves, as designed, so that could be helpful.
But before she could say anything, a very severe man walked up to the group and cleared his throat. Whoa, that moustache is impressive.
“I hear we have a new visitor?” He asks, glancing between Ingo and Akari before settling on Elesa. “Welcome to Jubilife Village. I am Commander Kamado of the Galaxy Expedition Team, and I have a few questions for you.
Translation Notes: (1) - “I should’ve asked Giratina” (2) - “Huh? Galarian?” Elesa did understand these sentences, she was just in shock from the teleporting to process what Akari was saying. I also threw them through Google, so it's not the closest.

With the announcement of Pokémon Squishmallows Wave 1 with Pikachu and Gengar, here are some Pokémon that I want a Squishmallow of or can see getting one:
•Eevee is 100% getting one; it's become one of the mascots
•I can see them having a Gen 9 starters wave to promote the game, though Wave 1 is officially coming out in Autumn so the timing to promote the game with Gen 9 starters squishmallows may not work out
•Snorlax is squishable. Snorlax squishmallow is required.
•Lechonk would be incredible. I personally can't wait for Gen 9 marketing for specifically Lechonk
•Jigglypuff is just a perfect squishmallow
•My friend wants a Raichu squishmallow and I 100% support this
•Ninetails has potential to be a really cool squishmallow but it'd be really difficult so probably not
•The original trio starters will probably get a wave, and I think Bulbasaur would be an amazing squishmallow. Squirtle would also work rather well
•Arceus might get one
•Assuming the waves are still coming out by the time the next Legends game comes out, I can see that game's legendary getting one as promotional material
•Pachirisu simply cause I love it
•Morpeko wave of hangry and normal would be a very easy one: two designs for one Pokémon that gained some popularity and the Morpeko would translate well into a squishmallow
•Mimikyu would be literally adorable and amazing and you can not convince me otherwise
•I adore Torracat but that won't happen
•I can see Mew getting one and I'd love it
•Marill would be wonderful for so many reasons I could write an essay
•Togepi is round and adorable
•Solosis. It's literally a blob
•I can see then pulling a Magikarp on us
•Munna and Musharna have always given squishy vibes and cuddly vibes and literally eat dreams it's perfect
•Togedemaru. Tell me you don't want to squish the lil guy I dare you
•Drifloon could either be pulled off perfectly or horribly based on how the treat the strings
•Spheal. That's all I'll say.
• Voltorb would work but I wouldn't get it
•Oddish please for the love of god
•Wooloo will happen and it should
•Not sure Furrett would work but if done successfully it'd be elegant and masterful and I'd buy it in seconds I will go into bankrupcy for it
•Poliwag would be so precious

ok so, I have 2 scheduled posts (I only have 2 weeks of scheduled posts at a time right now...). New content is Wednesdays, reblogged older content is Sundays if it happens at all. I don't have a lot of content (yet) to reblog too often without being annoying. For now, I have Magikarp & Gyarados scheduled for this week (finishing off my mini series on the O/M/G clade, lolol) and then the Azumarill family for next week. I have Turtwig and Rellor's lines on request in the back of my head, but Turtwig will be gotten to a lot faster than Rellor and Rabsca. I just, I genuinely don't know what to do with Rabsca specifically (Rellor is easy) because I want some more canon content on Rabsca and Rellor both before I write anything up about them. Which means I'm going to have to wait for the anime to catch up. Sorry to the person who asked about Rellor and Rabsca!!! In the meantime, I've been debating how I want to address the Eevee family. Many of you have seen my old chain post with almost all of the Eeveelutions, a post produced on my main blog (which I don't advise following, it is quite uninteresting) before I decided to make a side blog for this. You may have also noticed that I never updated it with Sylveon-- please be assured that I've had Sylveon ready this entire time, I just don't really want to have such a monster of a post flooding the dash again and then making it even longer with Sylveon. Each Eeveelution is so unique in its ecology and interactions with humanity, that I feel I can justify making them separate posts that just hyperlink to each other-- akin to how I tried handling Bulbasaur's line and Slowpoke's line, but this didn't seem to work too well with them (I will probably re-do that at a later point and combine them properly). But in this case, each Eevee is individually very popular, so I think it'll be fine-- and even if it's not, well I just don't want that monster length post flooding my dash anyways. However, I will do that when I need to give myself 8 weeks of scheduled posts because some weird life thing has come up. That will be the same time I combine the Bulbasaurs and Slowpokes back into one cohesive post (so, 10 weeks of scheduled posts?). At some point I should also share some screenshots of what a completed Bestiary entry looks like on my end, but not right now. Probably when I need something else to schedule out while I'm busy. Oh, before I forget, I'll also be holding off on Tauros and Miltank until after any SV DLC is fully released... AND any new Gen 9 Legends game! I'm not entirely convinced that Miltank is going to remain untouched by regional variantion for all of Gen 9, and I'd rather just wait to see. And *eventually* (like way down the line when I actually had the content to justify this) I was thinking of creating a master pokedex post with hyperlinks to everyone's bestiary entries, to keep starred at the top of the blog. Maybe. Perhaps. Mayhaps.
Anyways, keep the requests in-coming! I will ignore requests for Box Legendaries (sorry), Mew & Mewtwo, Gen 9 legendaries and mythicals, Ultra Beasts, and Paradox Pokemon. They're special and have unique places in the lore.

Heart of Stone, chapter 1
Hey, everyone. I thought I’d write a little two-chapter story for the Pokémon universe. The first chapter will be long and fluffy. The second will be shorter and serious.
Please enjoy this story about Cyrus forming an actual connection with a carbon-based lifeform and then literally going to Hell and back with it.
---
It’s just a meeting. Calm down. He’s not going to be mad. He’s never mad. I’m not sure he even can get mad.
But I really need this job. My licence for professional Pokémon husbandry is on probation for breach of conduct, so it’s shady stuff like this or supporting my sick wife with minimum wage.
Trust me, when I went into Pokemon husbandry, I didn’t think I’d end up working for a crime syndicate like Team Galactic. They barely use Pokémon- Master Cyrus prefers the use of negotiation and weaponry over power based on something so intangible as friendship. Rumour has it, though, that some kids broke into the Galactic HQ recently, kicked everyone’s tails in with their Pokémon, including Master Cyrus himself, and made off with vital equipment. That ought to wake him up to how important Pokémon are. Just, hopefully not enough to me with someone more legitimate.
As I waited in Cyrus’ office, I checked my uniform in one of its many chrome surfaces in hopes it would lend me a bit of professionalism. It’s cultish how he makes us all wear these silicone space suits and matching bob cuts. What’s worse is that while I’m here out of desperation, most of his grunts are true converts. Cyrus is a God to them, not just an eccentric with a sci-fi fixation and a budget.
The door opens and Cyrus takes his place at his desk. He’s stone-faced, but that doesn’t mean anything. It’s the only face I’ve ever seen on him.
“I assume you heard about the recent break-in,” he begins.
“Yes, sir.”
“It is ridiculous that things should come to man-to-man violence in a legitimate organization in a civilized society. But one must adapt to the world. I need stronger Pokémon for myself and my workers. As our Pokémon manager, how do you plan to achieve that?”
He’s giving me a chance to prove myself. I have to take it. “Well, sir, I can get the Pokemon for your workers toughened up in a week with the rare candy and TMs we intercepted. That’s easy. As for your team, I can evolve your murkrow and sneasel with nothing but held items and levelling. I have a houndoom trained and ready for you. And a quick way to get you another powerful Pokemon- one that can handle rock-tyes, no less, which your team has a weakness for- would be to fish up a magikarp and evolve it.”
I look for the slightest sign of pleasure or displeasure in him. I find nothing. “That sounds like a plan. I’ll double your budget to allow for it. Could we evolve my golbat as well? I want to have every advantage.”
“Well, if you need every advantage, sir, your golbat doesn’t have the best nature... we should have left it on the trade station, honestly. But I could easily have one of our grunts steal a crobat for you.”
“No. My plan comes to fruition in three months, and I’m already taking a chance on that houndoom and gyrados obeying me. How does golbat evolve?”
I hesitated. He’s not going to like this.
Cyrus sighed and pulled up a screen on his Pokétch. “It needs a bond with its trainer, and can be evolved in five to ten weeks. I expected a trained professional like you to know that.” His gaze froze me in place. “Take me to my golbat. I’ll be doing its husbandry until it evolves.”
I do as he asks. I don’t mention that the description should have said “five to ten weeks if you’re not an emotionally void mound of permafrost,” but hey, I didn’t write it, and hopefully he won’t blame me when he realizes he couldn’t get a Pokémon to be loyal to him if he tried. They’re not gullible like people are.
---
After a longer-than-expected meeting with the Pokémon manager, who explained the golbat’s care needs and gave him the needed supplies, Cyrus returned home. He set up the perch the golbat would hang from to sleep at night, put the defrosting bags of blood it would eat in the freezer, and mentally prepared himself to welcome it home. He didn’t expect that it would welcome going from the hands of a professional to someone who hadn’t cared for a Pokémon since childhood. Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea.
Cyrus took a deep breath and let the golbat out of its ball. It came out, saw him, and started scanning the room for threats. I’ve only handled it in battle. It sees me, so it thinks we’re going to be battling.
“We’re not fighting anyone today. You’re going to be staying with me a while. We’re going to be friends.” He tried to put some warmth into his voice.
Surprisingly, the golbat smiled when it heard that and tried to snuggle into his neck, purring- not the sound he expected from a three-foot mouth with wings. Cyrus put a hand on it.
“Huh, I wasn’t expecting it to be that easy. Well, your toys are over there, in that bag. Tomorrow, you’ll see how I run Team Galactic. You’ll be by my side as much as I can allow.”
The next day and several days afterwards, Cyrus was rarely seen without his golbat either flying at his side or perching on his arm. Cyrus could honestly get used to it. Sure, its squeaking was a bit annoying, but always having a Pokémon around, and an intimidating one at that, was a bit like making a loaded weapon a part of one’s uniform. There was nothing like it to say, “I should be feared.”
And he was making progress with it. One day, after a meeting had ended early and the next wasn’t supposed to be for a while, he decided to test something with his golbat. It was supposed to be a sign of trust if an animal-intelligence Pokémon let you touch it while eating. Cyrus dug a sealed bag of Pokémon blood out of his desk.
“Want a snack?” he asked, and no sooner did the golbat fly over from its perch, bite the bag and start draining it. Cyrus reached out to pet its back, and... nothing. It was perfectly comfortable being touched.
Yeah, you trust me, don’t you? You know that I’m not going to take your food away.
“Oh, am I intruding?” a lightly mocking voice came. It was Commander Mars poking her head in. Early, apparently.
Cyrus begrudgingly turned his attention towards her. “Yes. Knock before you enter.”
Mars came in and leaned on the doorway in what was supposed to be a seductive fashion. “Sorry. The guy from your last meeting said you'd finished up. So, I didn’t know you were programmed to feel affection. What, did you get a system update or something?”
“Smiling at your Pokémon releases oxytocin in their brains. It’s good for them. I expected you’d know that. Leave.”
Mars left with barely another word.
“Commander Mars is incredible organizer and very good at PR, an asset to the team. And one of the most annoying people I know,” Cyrus grumbled. No one else would have made him defend himself for something so basic.
The golbat flew over and landed on Cyrus’ desk. I have a listening ear, he realized. “Want to hear a little secret about her?”
Golbat squeaked in response. By its smile, Cyrus assumed that was a yes.
“I know that Mars believes in my cause, and she would never betray us. But it also helps that she has an infatuation with me. What I haven’t told her is that even if I were interested in romance, she’s not my type. Want to hear about my other two commanders? I have a little less to say about them, but...”
The Golbat gave him another squeak in response.
“You’ve already met Commander Jupiter. She’s designing the Galactic bomb meant to blow up Lake Valor. She follows us because of her love of weaponry and destruction. All she knows about our plan is that we’re going to destroy the universe. All Mars knows is that we’re going to create and rule a new one. And Saturn, our coms expert, knows the whole plan. He’s been here since before I decided that most of it should be esoteric. It’s a good thing I trust him entirely.”
It was nice having someone to talk to. Someone who wouldn’t and couldn’t spread around anything he said, and he felt like he could be a human for instead of a leader. Pokémon were delightfully non-judgmental.
---
“Golbat, crunch!” Cyrus commanded, and it bit down on the other golbat’s leg as hard as it could. The other golbat escaped its fangs easily.
Golbat had once been the strongest Pokémon on Cyrus’ team, but to hear his Pokémon manager say it, the others were now leaving it in the dust. Cyrus had wanted to know what the problem was, so he’d decided to see for himself.
“Crunch,” the manager instructed the other golbat. Cyrus’ Pokémon was swift enough to dodge out of the way, but when it came in for a second bite, the other golbat got him. It was obvious how much deeper its fangs were going in and how much more pain it was causing.
“Wriggle out, and then crunch again, harder.”
With some struggle, Golbat made it out. Its returning bite was still weak, and not for lack of effort.
”Golbat, return. I’ve seen enough.”
“It seems his attacking power is the problem,” Cyrus said as his golbat flew back and landed on his arm. “How do we fix that?”
“I’m sorry, sir, but we don’t. He has an attack-lowering nature. He’ll always be in the bottom twenty-percent for his species and level when it comes to executing this moveset. Want to trade golbats so you have the better one? ”
Cyrus saw his golbat droop at the thought of being traded away. “Is special attack affected by this?”
“Well, no...”
“So, in teaching him a physical moveset, you set him up to fail.”
Cyrus' voice was entirely cool, but the grunt was terrified nonetheless. “Well, sir... I teach all golbats the same moveset. It’s easier to keep track of that way, and it’s what they’re supposed to be good at... Pokémon are only tools, right...? This is a faulty tool.”
“No. This is a misused tool. How dare you call it names in its earshot and blame it for your failure. Get me an exhaustive list of the moves it can learn by TMs immediately.”
The grunt nodded, saluted, and scrambled away at a run.
Cyrus petted his golbat. “Don’t listen to him, golbat. Your potential is endless. The second he’s back, I’m going to show him the door.”
---
Cyrus’ plan had brought him to the caves of Lake Acuity in search of the Lake Guardian, Uxie. The cave, predictably, was full of aggressive wild Pokémon, but Cyrus was not afraid.
“Golbat. Ice beam,” Cyrus commanded, and Golbat lifted off of Cyrus’ arm, taking to the air and firing off at the wild geodudes and gravelers, creating a path for Cyrus like Moses parting the Red Sea. As he walked, Cyrus watched as his Golbat weaved between rock-based attacks, zubat, and clumsy, inexperienced golbat.
Grace. Speed. Agility. Such beauty wrapped up in an ungainly-looking body. The other golbat were as clumsy as they looked, but not his. And fitted with a special attack-based moveset, its poor nature was irrelevant.
“Look out,” he called, and his golbat swerved to avoid a graveler’s rollout before finishing it off with a shadow ball. With the path cleared, it landed back on Cyrus’ arm. “Excellent job, golbat.”
The golbat smiled and wrapped a wing around him. And then, it lifted off and began to glow. Its wings split. Its ears lengthened. It grew larger and far more aerodynamic. It had evolved.
“Crobat, return,” Cyrus demanded, holding up its ball. It hesitated- Cyrus hadn’t used its ball in several weeks. “Return,” he repeated, more firmly this time. With a sad squeak, the crobat returned
Cyrus turned to Commander Saturn. “You brought the repels, correct?”
“Yes, sir,” Saturn responded, pulling two canisters out of his bag. Cyrus took one sprayed down.
Cyrus was far from the easiest person to read, but Commander Saturn had known him for years. He could see that Cyrus was walking a little slower and carrying himself a little differently, and it was unironically the most sadness he’d seen him express since before he’d started Team Galactic. “You know, sir, allowing a Pokémon to fight its wild counterparts raises its level. There’s no need to use repels if you think your crobat could use more practice.”
“Its level is already sufficient. I’m returning crobat to my Pokémon handlers as soon as we return. There is no reason to treat it any differently from the rest of my team.” The two of them came to the entrance of the cave’s innermost chamber. “Uxie should be in there. Are you equipped to catch it?”
“Yes, sir.”
“Then do it. Quickly. I’m tired and I’d like to get back to the galactic base.”
Saturn ran ahead and let out his toxicroak, who made easy work of the small psychic-type with sleep power, a false-swipe, and a dusk ball. With his hands folded behind his back and his usual stony expression, Cyrus watched their teamwork in seething jealousy.
---
Everything was falling into place for Cyrus’ plan to strike on Mount Coronet tomorrow. That was undeniable. As Cyrus did one last check of the galactic base, he found that the red chain was still floating in its containment chamber, ready for use. He had enough workers on duty the next day to guard the entrances to the Spear Pillar and mind the coms. His team was in excellent condition now that he’d fired his old manager and promoted someone competent. This was the fifth time he’d checked everything through. Everyone else had gone home, and Cyrus knew he ought to as well.
But something felt wrong. Cyrus could imagine every detail of his plan: himself on Spear Pillar, wielding the deities of time and space through the red chain, guarded by Mars and Jupiter in case anyone tried to stop him. But somehow it seemed incomplete.
I know exactly why. I may as well not deny it.
Cyrus made his way over to the Pokémon nursery. Crobat was easy to find, sleeping upside down on a perch nearby several other bat Pokémon who were doing the same. He woke it up and brought it into the hallway. If it felt any resentment towards him for leaving him here a few weeks, it didn’t show it.
“Crobat,” Cyrus began, “You’ve grown attached to me. And ever since I left you here, you’ve been unhappy and you haven’t been performing to your potential. I am disappointed. I thought your spirit was more complete than that. But if being together helps you, then we should stay together. Come home with me tonight. Tomorrow, we’ll ascend Mount Coronet and you’ll be my eye in the sky as we fulfill our destiny.”
The bat squeaked happily and nodded in response, and everything finally felt right. Perhaps there would even be room for the little bat in his new universe.
The next day was right out of Cyrus’ greatest fantasies. He stood tall on Mount Coronet with his two female commanders protecting him and Saturn watching remotely from the coms station. Crobat patrolled the sky. Cyrus wielded the powerful red chain, which strained his frail human vessel until it bled and burned Dialga and Palkia as it bent them to his will. Everything was as planned.
And then Giratina came, and it very suddenly wasn’t.
---
When Cyrus woke up, the first thing he noticed was the utter silence. It was so beautiful and peaceful, not even a breeze disturbing it. Then he remembered he’d just been pulled through a portal by Giratina and got up, ready to plan his next move.
Giratina was floating before him, and behind the creature was a turbulent purple sky and floating, rocky islands. Water fell from their rivers, but made no sound. The leaves on the trees were perfectly static. Cyrus had to admit that it was quite beautiful, in an empty way.
“So this is your world, is it? Are you content now that you’ve interfered with my plans and ruined everything?”
But if that was its intention, why didn’t it just kill me? And that’s when Cyrus realized it.
“There’s nothing here. And there’s nothing to here. What I sought was a world that requires no spirit and would be a perfect world. Yes. This place of nothingness is what I sought.”
Cyrus pulled out the communication device Saturn had built for him to send one last message to his team: “Do not look for me.”
Cyrus could hear Saturn yelling his name. Scared for him. But Saturn didn’t matter anymore. None of them did. He turned to Giratina. “Thank you for lending me your powers. Is there a place in this dimension big enough for an earth-sized planet? It needs to support humanoid life.”
I am not here to aid you in your hubris, Giratina told him telepathically. I am here to punish it. I will not punish you with physical torture, as that would teach you nothing. No... I am going to leave you to wander this world in complete isolation until it breaks you apart. Perhaps then you will understand the value of the human spirit, and that you are not immune from the need for it. One last thing: your Pokémon are innocent.
All five of Cyrus’ poké balls broke open. A red haze engulfed the five fainted Pokémon and revived them to full health, and then a portal back to Mount Coronet opened up before them. One by one, they left him without a second glance. All but Crobat, who gave the portal not a second glance before swooping down to land at Cyrus’ side.
Giratina saw this, and sent Cyrus the telepathic equivalent of a shrug before flying off.
“He thinks he can torture me with loneliness. How ridiculous. Humans in their current form are worthless; this place is a paradise.”
Cyrus wanted to believe that, but his heart was pounding. How long would he spend here? What would he do when he got out? Would Saturn forgive him for leaving like this without an explanation? Cyrus looked to his communication device, but it was out of range now. Would his team still be waiting when he got back, or would Saturn disband it? And even if he didn’t, would he still have their faith now that his plan had failed?
“Oh my God. I’m going to have nothing.” And just as the distortion world was feeling a bit too still, Cyrus realized that some of those purple clouds were ghost-type Pokémon. Just because Giratina wouldn’t torture him didn’t mean that they wouldn’t.
Cyrus started walking towards one of the ledges. “Why did you stay here?” he asked his crobat. “I was nice to you for a couple months. Almost nothing. And you chose to stay here because of it. Hasn’t anyone ever been nice to you before? You are so incomplete...irrational...”
Cyrus wasn’t even sure if his crobat was following him. his focus was on the ledge he was fast approaching. A fall in this dimension could be almost infinite... but it looked like this one had another floating island a few dozen feet beneath it. Cyrus closed his eyes and stepped off the ledge.
Suddenly, Cyrus felt something slam hard against his chest, pushing him backwards. He snapped his eyes open to find crobat, distressed and trying to save him. The two fell onto the ground in a heap, crobat making anxious little squeaking noises as it gave him a four-winged squeeze and buried its head in his chest. Cyrus hugged it back to try and calm it down.
“No one has ever wanted you before, have they?” he realized. “You were left on the trade station to rot, and your manager thought you were worthless. That’s why you warmed up to me so quickly.”
Cyrus got up and looked back over to the ledge, then back to the Pokémon flying at his side. “We will survive here together. I promise.”

pearl is tired, but doesn’t say anything. diamond and platinum notice anyway.
ao3!
To say Pearl is tired would be an understatement as wide and deep as all three Sinnoh Lakes combined. And Arceus, is he sick of thinking about the lakes. He, Diamond, and Platinum had been trekking around Lake Valor all day, round and round and round again.
Of course, it had been his own idea, initially. Let’s explore the lake, he’d said. It’ll be fun, he’d said.
Boy, does he regret those words.
In the beginning, it had been fun. Diamond and Platinum had shared disbelieving looks while Pearl charged forward. Now, at the onset of dusk, they’re the ones chattering on about this Pokemon or other, or does that tree stump look odd, or see how many Magikarp keep jumping out of the water! while Pearl trails behind them. He grouchily rubs his eyes.
As caught up in his own misery as he is, he smacks right into Platinum as she slows. “Pay ‘tention to where you’re goin’,” he grumps. “Million yen.”
Platinum gives him an odd look, then shares another look with Diamond that Pearl doesn’t quite catch. He’s too busy fidgeting with the end of his scarf. A thread snags on a fingernail. When did it get so frayed? He frowns.
“Instead of paying you a million yen, how about I get us a room at the hotel?” Platinum suggests.
Maybe it’s a testament to how poorly he’s feeling that Pearl lifts his head hopefully instead of arguing that they haven’t found anything in six hours of searching. “Please?” His hands bunch around his scarf.
“Of course.” Platinum stretches her arms. “I’m getting pretty tired.”
“Me, too,” Diamond says as though he isn’t perpetually tired. He turns to Pearl with an easy smile. “Want me to carry you?”
Pearl hesitates. Diamond might be the sturdier of the two boys, but that doesn’t mean offers piggyback rides all that often. Even if he did, Pearl’s usually too busy rushing around like a tornado. Too fidgety to be carried. Really, the only time Diamond wants to carry him is when he’s--oh.
His friends think he’s little.
With a start, he thinks he might be little. At least a little bit. Hah.
Too tired to be embarrassed, he nods and holds up his arms. His legs do hurt, after all. And if Diamond’s offering, then it’d be pretty dumb to pass it up. Who knows when it would come up again? It’s not like he regresses that often, and when he does, it sneaks up on all of them.
Diamond makes short work of hoisting him onto his back, slotting his hands snuggly around his thighs. Pearl loosely loops his arms around his shoulders. Soft eyes turn back to meet his. “When we get to the hotel, I’ll make you a yummy snack, how does that sound?”
“‘Kay.” Pearl rests his cheek against Diamond’s warm shoulder. He’s pretty sure Diamond would have made snacks anyway, but who is he to point it out? Besides, Pearl feels himself slipping that much quicker now that he’s noticed. As talkative as he is on a good day, words feel all stopped up when he’s small. And he gets the feeling he’s gonna end up small.
It’s okay, though, because Diamond and Platinum pick up their conversation as though they’d never dropped it as they pick their way back around the lake and down the road towards Hotel Grand Lake. Pearl pipes up when either of them ask him a question, but for the most part he just lets their voices wash over him. The steady pace lulls him, too, and by the time the hotel comes into view, he’s nearly asleep. Still, he only whines a little bit when Diamond sets him down. Don’t wanna be a problem, after all.
Diamond and Pearl wait outside on a bench while Platinum scurries into the main building to reserve a room for the night. It doesn’t take long for her to return, triumphantly waving a key in the air. It takes a shorter time still for the three to make their way to their cottage.
The first thing Pearl does is take off his shoes. The second thing he does is faceplant into one of the beds. The mattress dips on either side of him. A moment later, he lets out a happy hum as someone’s fingers wind into his hair and rub at his scalp. Platinum, he thinks, because she coos at him.
“If you were feeling so tired, you could have said something,” she murmurs. “We could have stopped earlier.”
“Havin’ fun,” Pearl says, voice muffled by the blanket.
On the other side of him, Diamond makes a thoughtful sound. “I dunno. You seemed like a Grumpy Gus at the end there.” Pearl doesn’t say anything because it’s true. That, and he’s just about at his word limit. He hopes they don’t expect much more out of him today.
They seem to get the memo. “Let me get your binky and then I’ll get started on your snack,” Diamond says with a pat to Pearl’s back. Just the thought of his pacifier has Pearl pulling his lower lip between his teeth. Although he’d thought his brain couldn’t get any fuzzier, the pacifier proves him wrong the second it presses against his tongue. He barely notices when Diamond fixes the clip to his shirt.
“Sleepy li’l guy,” Diamond comments in a low voice. It gets quieter as he moves towards the miniscule kitchenette in the corner of the room. “What do you think he’d want, Missy?”
“Maybe something sweet? Perk him up a bit.” Platinum’s voice is just as soft, blanketing him in love and care. Not once does she stop playing with his hair.
Pearl tries to keep a grasp on the voices floating over him. He does. But at some point he just has to let it go. As long as they’re there.
It feels like all too soon that he floats back to the surface of wakefulness. Someone’s shaking his shoulder. Whining, he curls away from the touch only to crack an eye open as a fruity aroma wafts towards him. The first thing he sees is Diamond leaning over the bed with a soft smile. The second thing is a small, pink pastry. Pearl tries to get his mouth to work. “Pe’ha?”
“That’s right! Pecha!” Diamond beams and waits while Platinum helps Pearl find his limbs and sit up. “Want some help?”
Pearl nods without thinking; he’s not entirely sure, but he’s pretty certain his hands won’t work right now. He flexes his fingers to see. Then he does it again.
Meanwhile, Platinum holds her hands out. “I want to feed the baby,” she says primly.
“No fair,” Diamond protests. “You got to last time.”
“Turns,” Pearl mumbles, letting his pacifier drop to dangle from its clip. He doesn’t care who feeds him, he just wants to eat. His stomach growls in agreement. The others grin sheepishly.
Platinum takes the first turn. “Open wide, sunshine.” Pearl obliges. He lights up as the sweetness hits his tongue and the warmth his tummy. His shoulders wiggle.
“Like it?” Diamond asks, forking the next piece, as though he doesn’t know he’s made Pearl’s favorite treat. Pearl nods anyway and opens his mouth again.
By the time he’s finished, Pearl is somehow sleepier than before. But he also feels much better. “C’mere.” He holds out his arms to both his friends, who both take their cue and settle on either side of him. Diamond pulls the blanket over them. Pearl makes short work of slumping down against Diamond’s shoulder while holding Platinum’s hand.
Platinum leans over, kisses his cheek, and gives him his paci. “Sweet dreams, little one.”
“Nini.” Yes, it’s an understatement to say that Pearl is tired. But with his friends, he knows it’ll be okay.

*sits at the windowsill, looking out with melancholy* *sighs in despair* when will the pokémon au, my beloved, return from the war? in all seriousness can we have a snippet of the pokémon au?
Exerri stirred as the plane touched down, red eyes blinking in the sunlight. Xisuma watched as he sat up straighter and checked his seatbelt (which was fine, or else he would’ve woken him up).
“Wow,” he said finally, leaning over X to peer out the window, “so this is Galar.”
Xisuma hummed in agreement, listening to the quieting sound of the engines and the bustle as people prepared to get off. He could see Wyndon through the window, and it was far larger than any city in Alola.
“Gods, this place is massive,” the woman behind them said. She’d chattered at them throughout the flight before eventually falling asleep. “I think it’s even bigger than Aether Paradise!”
Both twins stiffened, before Xisuma responded, trying to keep his tone even.
“Maybe. Aether’s got a lot hidden below the public areas.”
-
It felt good to finally stretch his legs after seventeen hours in the air. Xisuma had never felt so stiff in his life.
As the twins waited for their bags, X scanned the general area.
Galar’s airport was large, bustling, bright, loud, full of people, and had an obscene number of shops for some unknown reason. He wasn’t really a fan, honestly.
Also, it was cold. It was late Summer, but there was a chill in the air X hadn’t experienced before.
Or maybe he was just too used to Alola’s heat.
He spotted his bag fairly easily- Cleo had stitched a large Wishiwashi patch to the thing in response to a school of Magikarp that Xisuma may or may not have encouraged to hang out in her front yard one afternoon.
Hey, it was funny.
-
“Void? Void twins?”
Exerri raised his head, and Xisuma waved, turning toward the voice. A woman ran up to them, dressed in a blue jacket, white shirt, and light grey pants.
“I’m Lila,” she said breathlessly, “you’re the Void twins, right?”
“That’s us,” Xisuma responded, “you’re Mrs Hart?”
“Yep! Pleased to meet you. How was your flight?”
“It was fine.”
“Good to hear! You two must be pretty tired, so let’s go home, shall we?”
“That sounds great.”
-
“Oh, there they are.”
“They smell funny.”
“They’re from a different region, of course they smell funny.”
Well, that was… certainly an introduction. And judging from the lack of Exerri’s reaction, it was most likely not from humans.
“Do you have Pokemon?” X asked mildly.
“Oh, did you hear them? Yeah, We’ve got Sunny, my Espeon, and Shelly, who's my wife’s Shuckle.” X nodded. Interactions with pokemon were always interesting for him.

My 25 best Pokemon anime moments
April 1, 2022, marks the 25th anniversary of the Pokemon anime series as on this day, the very first episode of the Pokemon TV series aired on TV Tokyo. The episode where Satoshi (Ash) first met Pikachu and began their journey. For eight regions and over a thousand episodes later, their bonding is stronger than time itself. In honor of such an occasion, now is the time to jot down my top 25 best Pokemon anime moments.
HOLD IT! May contain the s-words so please binge-watch the entire series first!
Tumblr media
25) Ash is so pumped up for the showdown against Celadon Gym Leader Erika. The problem is, he got kicked out because he felt disgusted over the pricey perfume, which turned out it was made from the gym itself. This is the episode where Ash turned himself into Ashley.
24) Iris's Emolga became part of Team Rocket? A certain episode from Adventures in Unova and Beyond saw our lovable Electric-and-Flying-Type Pokemon end up being with the bad guys. Turns out, this Emolga's pretending to be with them just so it can patch things up with Iris.
23) A Diamond and Pearl episode saw Ash, Brock, and Dawn end up in a middle of a mysterious place where all of their dreams come true. Turns out, this little dream they're in is a trap set up by a Ghost-type Pokemon named Mismagius. With Ash and Dawn trapped in their whims, Brock and his Croagunk are trying to snap them out of it. With the gang back from their senses, they team up to defeat Mismagius.
22) Ash's first and only Shiny Pokemon caught in the TV series is a Noctowl and a certain episode of The Johto Journeys saw the gang encounter a Noctowl with a different color. Having struggled to break through its hypnosis, Ash and the gang pulled all the stops to capture this elusive Noctowl.
21) Escaped from the sunken S.S. Anne but got wiped out by a Gyarados, Ash and his pals, including Team Rocket, got their Pokemon pals separated on a mysterious island...inhabited by giant Pokemon. Struggling to get together, the group settles their differences and works together to reunite with their respective human friends. It wasn't easy...but it's downright hilarious.
20) The episode where Ash said goodbye to his Butterfree is the saddest moment in Pokemon anime history as after saving a flock of Butterfree from the clutches of Team Rocket, Ash bid his Pokemon friend goodbye as his Butterfree is flying happily with the flock.
19) The secret origin of Meowth's uncovered in a Pokemon episode where we get to learn more about how Meowth talked. Following his heartbreak with a female Meowth named Meowsie, our least-lovable feline went through greater heights and began learning how to talk in a human language. This is the Meowth everybody loves to hate.
18) When Ash got sick, Clemont and Bonnie set off to find some medicine for Ash, and a Pikachu trainer is challenging Ash, what would Serena do? Pretend to be Ash! How hard can it be?!
17) The moment where Ash told his Charizard to go is by no means one of the most heartbreaking moments in Pokemon anime history.
16) The Pokemon Journeys episode where Goh's Magikarp enters the contest for the highest splash done by a Magikarp is by no means the most hilarious moment. Where does Goh's Magikarp head to after a spectacular Splash...no one knows? Oh wait, it ended up on the island of Slowpoke where Ash and Goh got their heads stuck by Slowking's Shellder. That splash is out of this world...literally.
15) Following her heartbreaking defeat at her Pokemon Contest debut, Serena vowed to her Pokemon friends to do better. This is where we get to see Serena's new look from the end of a certain XY episode.
14) The Cosplay Pikachu episode from Kalos Quest is proof we all love Pikachu, no matter the look. The episode saw Ash and friends fulfill a director's dream to create the perfect movie starring none other than Pikachu. This is where different versions of Cosplay Pikachu came in.
13) The beginning of the legend. Ash's encounter with Pikachu from the first Pokemon anime episode signaled the start of his dream. Normally, Ash would have picked one of the starters but because he arrived late, he got none until Pikachu came and an electric shock from Pikachu is a welcoming treat for Ash. The two struggle to get to know each other but after one mishap after another, well, this is the start of the legend. The story of Ash and Pikachu has begun.
12) The showdown between Ash and the rest of Kalos against Team Flare boss Lysandre reached its climax and the episode showcased Zygarde in its Complete Form. Unleashing its Core Enforcer attack, Lysandre's reign of terror is finally over and the Kalos region is saved.
11) The final episode of the Advanced saga saw the contest showdown between Ash's Sceptile and May's Blaziken end in a draw. After an explosive battle, Ash bids farewell to May and returns to Pallet Town. His little homecoming got interrupted when he was challenged by Gary. After Ash's Pikachu got knocked out by Gary's Electivire, it's a clear sign that Ash's prepared for his Sinnoh adventure.
10) Having lost to Vermillion Gym Leader Lt. Surge's Raichu, Ash has a choice. Will he evolve his Pikachu to a Raichu with the Thunder Stone and risk losing the Pikachu he loved? As a matter of fact, Ash's Pikachu wanted to stay like this and Ash agreed. Relying on Pikachu's strength, it appears the lesser one has trumped the greater one. Ash's Pikachu defeated Lt. Surge's Raichu.
9) The Pokemon School's having a stage play with Lillie the star of the play. The problem is, Team Rocket crashes the show, and with the change of plans, Ash and the gang are putting a hilarious twist on their stage play to save the day. Too many references involved.
8) Ultra Guardians vs. Necrozma. The ultra showdown determines the fate of the Alola Region. As the whole Alola unites to feed Necrozma, Ash and Gladion team up with Solgaleo and Lunala to finish it with the legends' Z-moves Searing Sunraze Smash and Menacing Moonraze Maelstrom. Peace has been restored in the Alola region but with every day saved comes a bittersweet farewell as Ash bids farewell to Poipole as it returns to its homeworld.
7) Sinnoh Pokemon League. Ash's Infernape vs. Paul's Electivire. One of the most memorable battles in Pokemon anime history. Just as we thought Ash's Infernape is defeated, all that taunting from Paul and Electivire caused Ash's Infernape to unleash its true power. With a final Flare Blitz gambit from Ash's Infernape, Paul's Electivire is down and Ash and Infernape won.
6) The showdown between Team Rocket's Mimikyu and Ash's Pikachu in the abandoned mart is the most intense Sun and Moon moment. When Team Rocket's Mimikyu unleashes the Z-move, Let's Snuggle Forever, we might think this could spell the end of Ash's Pikachu but thankfully, Ash's Pikachu learned Electroweb in the nick of time, giving Ash's Pikachu the opportunity to use 10,000,000-Volt Thunderbolt to defeat Mimikyu.
5) The showdown against Eternatus is by no means one of the coolest moments in Pokemon anime history. With Ash's Riolu evolving into Lucario during a battle against Chairman Rose and Goh's Raboot evolving into Cinderace, the two boys face off against the wrath of Eternatus. With help from the legendary Zacian and Zamazenta, Goh and Ash succeeded in capturing the biggest threat of all.
4) The end of the XY saga saw Ash bid farewell to Clemont, Bonnie, and Serena. The memorable moment before Ash's Kalos adventure ended is what Serena did to Ash. Whatever she did to Ash before saying goodbye to him...there are no words to describe it.
3) The showdown between Ash's Greninja and Alain's Mega Charizard X in the final round of the Kalos Pokemon League is what the fans called a close call. Both sides unleashed their finishing blows and in the end...victory goes to Alain.
2) The showdown between Ash and Gladion in the Alolan Pokemon League finals has reached its thrilling climax as both of their Lycanrocs unleashed everything in an all-or-nothing battle to decide who will be Alola's first champion. The fighting was fierce but thanks to Ash's Lycanroc's Counter, Ash miraculously defeated Gladion to become the champion of the Alola region.
and the best Pokemon moment is...
1) The penultimate episode of the Sun and Moon saga brings the explosive finale to the ultimate showdown between Ash and Professor Kukui. With the legendary Tapu Koko fighting on the professor's behalf, it became what is known to be the true final battle. With their Z-Rings regained power thanks to Tapu Koko, the two unleashed a Z-Move finale with the Professor unleashing Tapu Koko's Guardian of Alola and Ash's Pikachu using 10,000,000-volt Thunderbolt. After an explosive Z-move finish, Ash and Pikachu won!
Happy 25th anniversary to the Pokemon TV series! As Ash and Goh's Pokemon journeys near its climax, will Ash conquer the World Coronation Series and defeat Leon? Will Goh accomplish the toughest Project Mew mission in the hopes of catching Mew? Will Chloe become the best Pokemon contest coordinator with the help of her Eevee? Only time will tell but with new and returning faces coming full circle, the climax of their Pokemon journeys will be...legendary.

Story Time
The Adoption - Meeting A New Friend
Words: 4623
Summary: This is the story version of how the adoption process went from start to end with @adventures-on-foster-island ! Thanks again!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was unsettling to settle back in to say the least.
Going from constantly traveling to sitting at home everyday was a change neither me or my pokemon were very happy about at first. Of course, I had discussed it with them before I made the decision to come home, and of course, it was great to see my family and friends again after that year away, but it was also... slower. More controlled. Less exciting in a way that constantly being surrounded by the unexpected does to you. In my little rented appartment in Rota, there were no wild pokemon that would steal my lunches, no random trainers that would challenge me as soon as our eyes met. There were no mad dashes to outrun rain clouds and no seeking shelter with wild pokemon... everything was peaceful. Everything was safe.
Luckily, it never became boring. In my first couple of days back, just as I was taking a stroll around town to see what had changed and to greet the merchants and shopkeepers I grew up around, Miss Chiba from the bakery offered me a job. The best kind of coincidence, right? During my journey I had garnered many different recipes and tips and tricks to make different pasteries, so of course I happily agreed. Eevee was over the moon when I told them the news and insisted on keeping me company during my working hours... totally not because they had a sweet tooth and were banking on getting all the left-overs and taste tests they would likely be gifted if they hung around the kitchen all day...
Okay, so maybe I had spoiled Eevee too much on our time on the road. Nothing wrong with that.
To my surprise, Riolu declined the invitation to come along with us, even if she was as much a sweets lover as Eevee. Instead, she wanted to keep training and keep honing her powers so she could be ready for when I would inevitably go on another journey again. It was sweet, so I let her, with the promise that she came by during lunch break so we could all eat together and hear about her process.
And that's how my days back home went from then on. Eevee and I would see Riolu to the city wall and wave her goodbye as she headed towards the small forest where she liked to train, and then Eevee and I were off to the bakery. It was a nice change of pace for a while. Homey. Safe. But after a couple of weeks I started to get this weird, empty feeling. Like something was missing. Incomplete.
Whether it was because of my former partner Squirtle, who had left the team at the end of my journey through Kanto to be with a group of wild Squirtle that wanted him to be their leader and protector; or because my apartment was a little small (even if it beat my little tent by a mile) and I felt constricted somehow... I don't know. But the short version of it was that I wanted to change things up a little. I couldn't go on another journey. Not yet. Only a couple more weeks and I had enough money for that. However, a friend recommended me something else. Something better.
Adopt a pokemon.
To be honest, I was a little skeptical of it at first, since I didn't know if I was capable of caring for a pokemon that could possibly have bad memories with people, but I still wanted to give it a chance. I wouldn't be a very good trainer if I wouldn't.
It was on one of my days off, and Eevee and I persuaded Riolu to take a rest day too, so we could all walk towards the closest pokemon centre together. There, I made a call. It was to Ellisa, former pokemon researcher and head caregiver of Foster Island, an island facility dedicated to saving and caring for neglected, abandoned, or abused pokemon. Of course, there were multiple ways to adopt a pokemon, but my friend had been really adamant about this place. I could hardly argue against it, especially when she showed me one of the pokemon she had adopted from the place. It was a little cutie, so precious, but still a bit wary of other trainers. It totally convinced me. It would take a while to travel there once I had chosen a date to look at the pokemon for adoption, but at least this saved me from doing hours of research and chickening out. All in all, it was a great way to adopt a new friend.
Anyway, I called Ellisa and after a short trading of names and giving introductions, I told Ellisa my story and told her a bit about what I did in daily life nowadays. It wasn't much to go on honestly, so I was pleasantly surprised when after about two hours, Ellisa called me back to say she had a few candidates that would like to meet me! I was so excited and immediately scheduled a day I would come by. The days that followed where filled with daydreaming and planning my short trip overseas, but I was so looking forward to it that time flew by in no time!
~*~
And now I sit here, on the deck of a ship that is taking me, Riolu and Eevee towards Foster Island. Finally! I'm a little nervous if I have to be honest, but I think the knot in my stomach belongs to the good kind of nerves. The jittery, excited kind.
"Eievui!" Little brown paws clamber across my leg. Eevee smugly sits themselves on my lap and strains their neck to look over the railing of the ship.
"Be careful," I say to them, gently placing a hand against their belly to keep them from falling off. Eevee just wiggles a little on my lap, but keeps watching the water pokemon before us. Seels skirt across the water's surface, while magikarps and tympoles occasionally spring from the water in high arcs before they dissappear under the waves again. Everytime the latter happens, Eevee squals in glee, never failing to point out that there was a water pokemon there, did you see that?!
Or at least, I think they say that. I could be wrong.
I softly pat Eevee's head as they keep watching the waves and I slowly turn to meet Riolu's gaze. She stands next to the door that leads inside the boat. Ever since I received her, she has always been the 'cool' type of pokemon. Crosses her arms, stands slightly back and leans against the wall of the ship so you can't see the happy sparkle in her eyes - the whole deal. It only makes her cuter honestly. I'm carefull not to break her bubble though. She once tried to tell me that she did it because she felt like she was the protector of our little family. So cute.
She believes that for that she always has to stay back and keep watch. Keep us safe.
And she does. She really does keep us safe, both during our journey and now that we are on a trip to find a new friend. I just hope she can let her guard down a little when we meet them so there's no hostility or anything from the start. I've been told Riolu's cold demeaner scares off some pokemon, but I'm sure that won't be the case now. To be sure, I ask with my eyes if she's doing alright. She simply nods back.
Okay, so she is just as nervous as I am, I'm glad.
After a period of watching the waves and listening to the soft chitter from Eevee, the boat finally moors on Foster Island, an assistent already waiting for me there. She gives me a soft smile and brings me along to the care facility further down the coast. I'm no connoiseur on architecture, but the building just screamed safe and open to me as soon as I saw it. A lot of glass, a lot of white, happy paintings of happy pokemon on banners at both sides of the entrance. Just as we enter the building, I let Eevee down from where I kept them against my chest. I saw a small playground just to my left. They always love those.
"Come back when I call, 'kay?" I yell at their retreating form.
"Vuivui!"
...I'll search for them when the time comes.
The assistent leads me and Riolu further into the building untill we arrive at a large room, one wall completely made of glass so everyone can see the small garden on the other side. From where I enter I can already see a couple of Bidoof chasing each other in a friendly game of tag, while a Pachirisu and Buneary are peeking out from behind a bush and watch them with interest. It warms my heart to see them so carefree. Who knows what they have had to endure to come here?
"You may take a seat here," the assistent says and gestures around at the various sofa's and beanbags, "Ellisa will meet you shortly. Please make yourself comfortable."
"Thank you-" The assistent is already gone. Well. Okay.
I sit down on one particularly soft-looking beanbag and almost drown it, before righting myself. Hopefully nobody was watching the security cameras; that was akward. Next to me, Riolu snickers. I have the urge to respond sarcastically, but... well, it was kind of funny. I laugh with her.
The floor of this room is a soft carpet, pastel colored circles spread across it that makes the place look happy and safe. A perfect place to play. I'm almost tempted to throw off my shoes and let my feet rest on the soft carpet, but I decid that it would probably be best not to do that in a public space.
Riolu and I watch the pokemon behind the glass play and relax, untill a door to my right opens.
"Sky?"
"Yes, that's me."
Ellisa steps inside the room and holds out her hand. I shake it.
"It's nice to finally meet you in person," Ellisa says.
"Likewise." I smile at her, but soon my eye catches movement behind her. A small Bidoof appears from behind her legs. It's body is smaller than the Bidoof I had seen in the garden and it's teeth are far more white. Like they have been cleaned far more recently. Or are newly grown. I hope it's not the latter.
Ellisa notices my gaze and smiles softly at Bidoof. "This is Bidoof," she introduces it, "This one came to us with overgrown front teeth, as her trainer left her in a crate with nothing to chew most of the time. Her mouth has fully recovered, as you can see, as well as her fighting spirit." She came a little closer to me to whisper, "She does still have claustrophobia however, so avoid putting her in any kind of container or very small room if you choose her."
As soon as I hear that I can feel my heart break a little. That must have been horrible. No wonder even now, Bidoof seems skittish around me. It wouldn't be easy to open yourself up to new people after experiencing something like that.
"It is nice to meet you Bidoof," I say and crouch down in front of her. I want to pet her, but decide against it. Instead I give her my brightest smile. "I'm glad you're doing alright now."
Bidoof cautiously shuffles from behind Ellisa's legs and approaches me. She's just precious. When she's close enough, Bidoof dips her head down a little.
Ah, I understand.
"May I?"
"Bi-bi."
I reach out with my hand and slowly, gently cart my fingers through her fur. It is incredibly soft. Bidoof croons quietly.
"This is going to be impossible..." I murmur to myself. How will I ever choose? I stand up again, to the slight disappointment of Bidoof. Ellisa just smiles and nods at an assistent that just entered the room with a pokemon in their arms. It's a Lotad, but with a small, pale purple water lilly on it's lilly pad. It's so cute!
"This is Lotad," Ellisa says, and thanks the assistent as she takes Lotad in her own arms, "This is the sweetest little guy in our garden pool. We assume that he was abandoned before the flower bloomed, and the trainer thought he was sick when he saw the bud growing... He's pretty cold resistant, and finds it too hot here on the island. He said he'd like to travel again soon."
I smile at Lotad, who shyly turns his gaze away. I can't imagine anyone leaving him just for his looks. It almost makes me mad, but I manage to keep my smile as I nod at Lotad. "You look beautiful Lotad, anyone thinking otherwise cannot see what is right in front of them."
The water type shifts a little in Ellisa's arms, but I can see it preens at the compliment. Good.
A soft knock on the open door alerts me to the next arrival. A Skarmory stands in the doorway, it's expression closed off and cold. Scars litter it's body that resemble the silhouettes of dead trees, as if his body is still in the hold of their branches and never managed to escape them. It saddens my heart. Skarmory must notice my expression, because as he steps further into the room, he grumbles and turns his head away from me.
Ellisa starts with the introduction as if there has not already happened an akward exchange between us.
"This is Skarmory. He was rescued from a poaching operation about a year ago, and had been badly electrocuted multiple times there. Although he is all healed, his scars never disappeared..." Skarmory shifts on his legs, but keeps his eyes on the ground. "I know he may look intimidating-"
May look intimidating? He practically already rejected me after our eyes met for only a second!
"-but I swear that it's quite on the contrary. Skarmory here has the largest heart of any of the pokemon here and will put himself in danger if that means he can help those he cares about."
I swallow through the rejection and tug my lips back up in a smile. "It is nice to meet you, Skarmory." My voice gets stuck in my throat. What else can I say to him? He even refuses to look me in the eye...
No doubt picking up on my unease, Riolu steps forward and quietly growls something at Skarmory. The steel and flying type does look up from that, but his expression is anything but friendly. Before Riolu can get closer and possibly start a fight, I step in between the two hard heads.
"Be nice, you two. This is just an introduction session, no time for a battle." I look at Riolu and raise an eyebrow. Riolu huffs, but stands back. My arms drop back to my sides. "Good."
I turn to Ellisa, who is placing Lotad on the ground. She pulls a spray bottle from... somewhere, and softly sprays his lilly pad. Then as she stands up, she smiles at all three of the adoption pokemon now present.
"These are the pokemon that were the most insistent on meeting with you, Sky," she says. I can't help but be a little surprised by that and try to catch Skarmory's eyes, but he has his head down again. "You have about the next hour or so to get to know them and play a little with them. I will come back when it's time to say goodbye or for you to make a choice. You may choose if you want to stay inside or if you want to go into the garden, that's up to you. I hope you will all have a good time." After saying her goodbyes to the pokemon, she leaves us alone.
It is quiet for a second, but I decide to take the lead and break the silence. I clasp my hands together.
"Alright! What about you three give us a tour of the garden? I would like to see all your favorite spots. Does that sound like a plan?"
"Bi-bi!" Bidoof happily makes his way to the door, and Lotad and a hesitant Skarmory follow her. I take Riolu's paw and follow behind them. Hopefully, all will work out now.
~*~
The garden truly is a special place. There's something for every kind of pokemon — a small patch of ice in the corner for pokemon who want to cool down after playing, a sandy part for pokemon to sunbathe in. A small pool is surrounded by low grass hills, and trees and bushes provide cover from the sun that shines down from between the walls of the facility. Patches of flowers are scattered across the grass, and I think I even saw some holes that were no doubt dug out by pokemon to create makeshift tunnels underground.
And really all sorts of pokemon live here. When Bidoof showed me her favorite hiding place between a circle of small, blue berrie bushes, I spotted an Aromatisse and a Goomy hiding there as well. When Lotad showed me how he liked to drift in the pool and play with the other water types, I saw a Helioptile just off the side recharching in the sun, while a Ledian quietly zoomed by. The garden was almost filled to the brim with different kinds of pokemon, but it seemed that everyone had found their own little places and spots. It warmed my heart to see it.
During the tour outside, Riolu had stood back, leaning next to the glass door we entered from with her arms crossed. Skarmory had stayed back as well, but at the other side of the door, still visibly avoiding getting too close to any of us. Secretly, I hoped that they would be able to gain an understanding during their quiet brooding, so I let them to themselves.
Besides, I had already enough to do just following the increasingly enthusiastic Lotad and Bidoof around. Halfway through our walk through the garden, a caregiver brought Eevee to the garden and, instantly, a friendship bloomed between them and the adoption pokemon. From that moment on, I let myself fall down in the grass and told them to go on playing. I needed a break.
~*~
Now, I sluggishly blink my eyes open as I feel a soft prodding against my cheek. "Wha-" I yawn. My eyes adjust to the sunlight and begin to focus. Riolu is kneeling beside me, poking my cheek and softly calling my name.
"Rio... Rio."
I wipe away some drool and lift myself from the ground with one arm. "I'm awake, I'm awake."
Riolu sits back on her knees. "Riolu-ri, Rio."
"I know, I know," I say, "but I was too comfortable to resist it." I rub my eyes and look around. I'm still in the garden of the Foster Island's adoption facility, but... there are no pokemon anywhere nearby.
A low growl startles me. I look to my left, where Skarmory is standing. He's looking straight at me, but I can't figure out what his expression means. Is he mad? Irritated?
"Ah, you're awake." The door to the garden opens and Ellisa steps inside. She smiles knowingly. "I was just about to announce that your time is up for today, since we have another appointment in half an hour. I have to say though... this has been the most unusual getting-to-know session I have seen in a while."
I feel heat rise to my cheeks. I hastily push myself from the ground and wipe away some grass blades from my clothes and hair. "I'm so sorry!" I exclaim, "I hadn't meant to fall asleep! I'm sorry I scared everyone away..." I look around. Was that a Pachirisu I saw ducking behind a bush? Oh no, I really scared them...
Ellisa laughs.
...Huh?
"Oh, quite on the contrary," Ellisa assures me, "the pokemon were all so curious to come closer. Most of them have never seen a human so unguarded around them before. When some of them began to climb on top of you however... Skarmory and Riolu stepped in and chased them away. Together, might I add." A glint in her eye. "They make quite the team."
Oh.
I look at Riolu, then Skarmory. Skarmory averts his gaze. I still smile at him. "Well, thank you then. For saving me," I say.
Skarmory grunts quietly.
"Lu-rio," Riolu adds. She sounds approving, almost proud.
Guess the choice is already made for one of us.
"And... where is Eevee?" I turn back to Ellisa, who nods at a collection of trees just off the side. I carefully approach the trees and when I hold away a couple of branches, I am pleasantly surprised. There, right between the trees, are Lotad, Eevee and Bidoof, quietly nibbling on some red berries. The leafs russle as I move them and Eevee looks up from her meal at the sound.
"Eievui!" They bounce from their spot, right into my arms. I almost drop them, but quickly adjust.
"Hi there. I see you entertained yourself just fine?"
"Eievui-vui!"
"I'm glad."
I look at Lotad and Bidoof. "And I'm sorry, but Ellisa told me my time's up for now. I hope you can forgive me for falling asleep when we had only so little time to get to know each other."
"Tad."
"Bidoof."
They both nod and follow me from inbetween the trees back to where Ellisa, Riolu and Skarmory are waiting for us. I bring Eevee along in my arms.
"In some adoption cases, I advice the trainers to come back for a second time, either when they're still not sure who to choose or if I think the pokemon haven't accepted them yet," Ellisa says.
I nod, already planning another date in my mind I could get free to come over once more.
"...However," Ellisa says and I look up in surprise, "I would say that in this instance a second appointment is not really necessary, is it?" She looks at the adoption pokemon. "I saw the way they interacted with you and I must say they haven't been this expressive and... happy in a while. I am sure any of them would be ecstatic if you were to adopt them."
My mouth is agape, I know it, but I can't help it. All three of them... like me? I let my eyes drift over them and they all look back with the pokemon-equivalent of smiles.
The choice had been hard, but even I cannot deny that I already feel which of them would fit my little family the best. Even if I was not awake to experience it, I know it when I look at them. I know it when I look at Riolu.
They would be the perfect fit.
I slowly breathe in through my nose, out of my mouth. This is it.
"I... I think you're right," I say carefully, paying attention to each of the adoption pokemon responses. Bidoof stares at me with sparkling eyes, Lotad's flower spreads even wider open and even Skarmory chances a glance at me, but quickly looks the other way.
Ellisa nods. "Then please, say your choice and be sure to give your goodbyes to the others. I will be waiting for you inside." Ellisa then turns around and leaves me along with my pokemon and the others. I sigh and crouch in front of the three pokemon anxiously awaiting my words.
"You would all be amazing fits to my team, I can feel that. And this wasn't an easy choice, so please, know that whatever I choose here, some trainer will come by that will pick you too, alright? No feeling down about it, because your time will come. I know it." I swallow before I continue. "...but I think I have chosen already."
I shift a little to look at each of them, my eyes landing and staying on the last of the three, who, for the first time this afternoon, actually looks back.
"I hope I can earn your trust, Skarmory, because you already have mine. Will you accept becoming a part of my team?"
I see the exact moment the implications of the words settle in, because small beads start the form at the corners of Skarmory's eyes. He closes them, then opens them and says, "Skar-skarmory." It sounds unsure, but hopeful.
"I take that as a yes." I smile at him. "I think you will be a perfect fit. Thank you for accepting my offer."
I look at the other two. "You are wonderful, the both of you. As I said, your moment will come, I am sure of it. Please stay safe here untill that time comes, alright?"
"Tad-tad."
"Bi-bi."
I nod at them. "May we meet again then. Goodbye for now." I give one last pat on each of their heads and turn around, heading back inside with Eevee in my arms, Riolu and Skarmory right behind me. It already feels right. It's as if this formation is how it was always supposed to be.
My smile widens.
Ellisa meets me and my pokemon in the lobby. Her eyes turn soft at the sight of Skarmory flanking on my left and Riolu on my right.
"A great choice. Do you believe me now, Skarmory? I always told you someone would see past your scars."
Ellisa leads me and my pokemon to her office and helps me in arranging the adoption. I first have to catch Skarmory to register him to my trainer ID, so Ellisa hands me a great ball. I try to refuse and use one of my own normal balls, but she insists that this comes with every adoption on Foster Island.
As long as Riolu doesn't get jealous that Skarmory gets a great ball, alright then.
I hold the ball in front of me and Skarmory steps formard and touches the button with the tip of his wing. A light engulfes him and shake, shake, shake, I caught him! I quickly release him again so he can watch me sign all the documents and papers in order to make the rest of the adoption official. Because Ellisa needs to explain more than one of the documents to me in detail, my pokemon quickly lose interest and Eevee jumps from my lap to join Riolu and Skarmory in a simple ball game on the other side of the office. I try not to be distracted too much, but... let's just say Ellisa has to explain some forms at least twice before I get it.
When all that is done, Ellisa and I set a date for Skarmory's six-month check-up and yearly physicals. Just before our meeting will come to an end, Ellisa gives me a large list of care tips in how to make sure Skarmory will be alright. It's long, but I know I'll need it. I take multiple pictures of the list, fold it and stuff it into my backpack.
After finishing up the lasts formalities, finally, Ellisa stands from behind her desk and extends her hand to me.
"I hope you and Skarmory will grow closer and closer and become the best of partners!"
I smile at her and then at Skarmory, who briefly stops to look at me too before he kicks the ball to Eevee. There is an understanding there. A promise.
"I think we will," I say, "I'll make sure of it."
Thank you for requesting @otome-land 😘😘😘💕💕💕💕💕
IkeSen Lords x Pokemon
Nobunaga
First of all, he will name 6 of his pokemon with the name of his vassals, and MC.
The possibility for him to choose anything related to them is high. Nah. Knowing him he will make it possible.
Like.. Having Mankey (Hideyoshi), Dragonite (Masamune), Ninetales (Mitsuhide), Jigglypuff (Ieyasu) and Psyduck (Mitsunari).
And Torchic (MC).
"EXCUSE ME??" - MC
"It's adorable. Besides. It is a fire pokemon like you, my fireball. As I couldn't find pokemon based on lucky charm."
Also, named his rival as "Tiger Wannabe".
Favorite Pokemon - Ho-oh. Reason: Majestic and Legendary.
Masamune: Is it because you always say the word "Hooh?"
*Is jabbed hard on his waist by Hideyoshi*
Hideyoshi
Obviously will do a shopping spree on potions, defense items, power-up items, particularly on those things to take care of his pokemon's well being.
Gasp dramatically when his Pokemon's HP is less than 30%.
+Heavy breathing when they are poisoned / cursed / paralyzed / put on sleep powder.
"MY BABIES!"
Complains a lot about the main character's age.
"What kind of game that allows 10 year old children goes for his adventure A L O N E??"
Favorite Pokemon: Arcanine. Why?
Mitsuhide: LOYAL because he is a dog? Pfft-
"....*groans*"
Masamune
Relate himself to Lance.
Cause... Dragon Pokemon.
Name his rival "Ghey". Because "G*y" is inappropriate and he is lectured by Hideyoshi about names.
"Will you name your son like that?? Will you?? MC will cry!!"
"Psssh it's just a game~~"
"It's just a game?? Then is dating and marrying and having child with MC is a game to you??"
How did this escalated like that-- anyway-
Favorite Pokemon: Rapidash.
He really wish it exists so he can go for a Formula 1 riding. Horse version.
Mitsuhide
Was grinning the entire time of playing until Hideyoshi assume he uses hack in it.
"My my how silly of you, I am playing fair and square."
"Then care to explain WHY your pokemon is level 100???"
"I wonder. I don't understand modern things ¯\_(ツ)_/¯."
Yeah right.
His team is nothing but those of ghost pokemon, dark pokemon, and psychic pokemon a.k.a the pokemon that puts misery on their opponent.
His favorite would be Ninetails. Cause... Fox.
Ieyasu: I thought your favorite is Gengar. The grin is the same 😒.
Hideyoshi: Did you just name your rival as "Castle Hen"--
Ieyasu
Psssh.
He won't play this childlike game.
Also Ieyasu: His team are of those cute looking pokemon.
Instantly heal his Pokemon just like Hideyoshi.
"It's not that I care or anything-- they must stay strong in order to win. Hmf."
Have this certain happiness whenever he win against a magikarp with 1 hit-k.o.
*Points at Magikarp and show it to Mitsunari* "You."
Milotic is his favorite. He relate Milotic to his past of where its first evolve is weak and shunned, then grow into stronger pokemon once it evolved.
Meanwhile, Masamune: I see Seadra or Jigglypuff in you when you are angry though. HEH.
Ieyasu: ಠ_ಠ I hate you.
Mitsunari
The one who take his sweet time to grow his Pokemon.
Most probably need a month to finish it as he will read those walkthrough and tips and storyline behind each Pokemon to understand it better.
Also one of those who named his Pokemon after his fellow vassals, but those Pokemon will be a majestic and stronger ones.
Oh our dear angel (´;д;`).
Anyway-
Despite taking his time to play the game, he is always ranked no.1 thanks to his tactics and planning. There's no single loss in each of his battles.
His favorite Pokemon is Skitty. "Because I want Neko-san to be my pet, even in this world (❁´◡`❁)."
MC: HNNGGGHHH MY KOKORO.
Then Ieyasu: I don't understand why Psyduck is not your favorite. That is your twin, do you know that?
Mitsunari: But I don't have any siblings, Ieyasu-sama (´・д・`).
Kenshin
"......*glares*"
Shingen: There he goes again, glaring into his game as if he is the one who is battling someone.
Yukimura: Nah. If he does, he will stab them and become a Pokemon Master in 3 days.
"...Be quiet or I will Dragon Rage you both (눈‸눈)."
Sasuke peeks to Kenshin's favorite Pokemon, Kingdra. "I see that you are fond of this Pokemon, Kenshin-sama. Is it because you have the same color (Blue and Yellow)?"
"Hm. He is a majestic water and dragon type. And he kills in just one attack. Just like me."
Sasuke: Please refrain the word 'Kill'. That game is not rated R-18 you know.
Shingen: Kingdra? I thought you are a beedrill who likes to stab people-- *stabbed* H E Y
Shingen
Indifferent face to male NPC, and suddenly sparkles when he is met with female NPC.
"Ah, yes, Nurse Joy. Please heal my Pokemon as your name brings my heart with joy 😏😏✨✨✨✨."
Yukimura: Shingen-sama. If that is a pun, I want to tell you that I wish to reverse time so I could get out from this room.
Also Yukimura: Did you just put my name for your Piplup just because I'm Tsundere??
Sasuke: He didn't even deny he is a Tsundere.
"Now now Yuki, allow me to focus on capturing my favorite Pokemon. Ah, here comes Entei..! He is very charismatic, just like me 😏😏😏."
Kenshin: *Casually* I was confident you are like Jynx.
Yukimura
"Tsk. This Team Rocket is annoying. Why did they even choose that kind of name in the first place--"
Sasuke: Prepare for trouble, bro.
"...Sasuke stop."
Sasuke: And make it double, bro.
"Sasuke, we have discussed about this."
Sasuke: To protect the world from devastation--
"Sasuke, for the 157th time, STOP OAO! My Pokemon passed out AGAIN!"
Sasuke: ......
"....😒😒😒"
MC: *Skips into the room* Team rocket blast off the speed of light ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ!
Sasuke: Surrender now or prepare to fight (/OAO)/!
Both: Meowth! That's right ٩( ᐛ )( ᐖ )۶!
"...If only Moltres is here, I've already burn both of you like those chestnut buns ʕʘ̅͜ʘ̅ʔ.
Sasuke
+Also the type to name his Pokemon after his lord, bff, gf, and most importantly... Ieyasu.
...And it was Jigglypuff. Except the name is Ieyasupuff.
Kinda freeze when he have to battle NPC that has butterfrees. Poor Sasuke.
He have this habit of calling Pokemon with the names of people that has the same features too.
*Encounters Sylveon* "Oh. It's Yoshimoto-san." *Encounters Sharpedo* "*Gasp* Oh wait, it's just Motonari-san."
*Fights with Beedrill* "Kenshin-sama please don't poison sting me, I'm out of antidotes-- you just did. *sigh* As expected of you. No mercy indeed."
MC: Who is your favorite Pokemon, Sasuke?
"Hmm.. Staryu."
MC: Ah! I know! It can heal his own HP right? How convenient--
"Because he sounds like Ultraman and acts like Ultraman when it is injured. You know, the red thing on its center?"
MC: Ah.. Haaah. I see (´・w・`).
Hillbilly Pitty-Pat
*While covering for Pac-Man, Pit is being chased through the Smash Mansion by Blinky, Inky, Pinky, and Clyde once again. He stops in front of the ballroom (it has a ballroom?!) and puts up a “Square Dance Tomorry Night” banner before diving inside.*
Inky: We’ll get that angel if it takes until dooms-a-day!
Clyde: Yeah, dooms-a-day!
Blinky: Is that even a word?!
*Pit, dressed up in a spare one of Palutena’s togas and a green wig he brought with him, steps out of the dance hall and whistles to get the ghosts’ attention.*
Pit, speaking in a surprisingly good feminine Texan accent: What’s your hurry, boys?
*The other ghosts look around.*
Clyde: Whoa-hoo-hoo nelly! *wolf-whistles*
Inky: What a looker! Oi, Blinky, whaddya say?
Blinky: I’m not sure about this, guys. She sure looks a lot like-
Pit: Y'all care to “practize” with me for the square dancin’ tomorrow?
Inky: Delighted, ma'am.
Clyde: Same, likewise, I’m sure, ma'am.
Inky: *growls seductively*
Blinky: Uh…
Pinky: I wanna try square dancing, too! Can we go? Please please pleeeease?
Blinky: Okay, fine. Fine! *sighs* This won’t end well.
*The ghosts file into the ballroom after Pit, who stops next to a jukebox.*
Pit: Oh, uh, pardon me. One of you gents got a spare heart so as I can juice up the jukebox?
Clyde: Here you is. *passes Pit a Hyrulian Heart Piece*
Inky: Ma'am. *passes Pit the Heart Locket from Undertale*
Pit: Thanks just all to pieces. Spiral Mountain trio, comin’ right up!
*As soon as the jukebox receives its currency, it projects holograms of Banjo, Kazooie, and Tooty, who start playing their respective instruments.*
Banjo hologram: Let’s all Square Dance! Places all! Bow to your corner, bow to your own!
*they all do so*
Banjo hologram:
Three hands up and round you go, / break it up with a dosey do! Chicken in the bread pan kickin’ out dough. / Skip to ma Lou, my darling!
The old lady out, you pretty little thing, / promenade around the ring! Big foot up and little foot down, / make that big foot jar the ground!
Lady step back and two gents in, / back you go and forward again! Step right up with an elbow swing. / Skip to ma Lou, my darling!
Allemande left with the old left hand, / follow through with a right-left grand. Meet your honey with a great big smile, / promenade Eekum Bokum style!
*Pit has shifted away from the ghosts, who are now dancing gleefully. He whips out his violin from his appearnce in Tetris for the NES, and then throws off his toga and wig, puts on a country straw hat, and unplugs the jukebox in that order, before he starts playing said violin like a fiddle.*
Pit:
Promenade across the floor, / sashay right on out the door! Out the door and into the glade, / and everybody promenade!
*The ghosts dance right out the door and into the courtyard with Pit in tow, still playing his violin.*
Pit:
Step right up, you’re doing fine, / I’ll pull your trail, you pull mine! Yank it again like you did before, / break it up with a tug o'war!
*The ghosts immediately start yanking at each others’ ghostly tail thingies. They’re nearing a ledge overlooking a river, until Pit kicks them in.*
Pit:
Now into the brook and fish for the trout, / dive right in and splash about! Trout, trout, pretty little trout, / one more splash and come right out!
*The ghosts splash around while Magikarp and Arrokuda jump around around them. They then come out soaking wet.*
Pit:
Shake like a hound dog, shake again, / wallow around in the ol’ pig pen! Wallow some more, y'all know how, / roll around like an ol’ fat sow!
*The ghosts have shaken off the water, but now jump into a nearby pen full of mud, where they roll around until they look like brown floating blobs.*
Pit:
Allemande left with your left hand, / follow through with a right-left grand! Now leave your partner, the dirty ol’ thing, / follow through with an elbow swing!
*The ghosts have all begun dancing with a group of Piloswine who have been lounging in the mud with them. Then they realize what they’re doing and jump out, preparing to lunge at a still-fiddling Pit, who steps up to a pile of Home Run Bats and kicks a few in their direction.*
Pit:
Grab a bat and hold it tight, / womp your partner with all your might! Hit him in the chin, hit him in the head, / hit him again, that critter ain’t dead!
*The ghosts have begun beating each other up with the Home Run Bats.*
Pit:
Womp him low and womp him high, / stick your finger in his eye! Pretty little rhythm, pretty little sound, / bang your heads against the ground!
*The ghosts are now threatening to take the Home Run Bats to Pit, who is now standing in front of the black mage packing machine from Final Fantasy IX.*
Pit:
Promenade all around the room, / promenade like a bride and groom! Open up the door and step right in, / close the door and into a spin!
*The ghosts lunge at Pit, who sidesteps them so they fall into the packing machine.*
Pit:
Whirl, whirl, twist and twirl, / jump all round like a flyin’ squirrel! Now don’t you cuss and don’t you swear, / just come right out and form a square!
*Four boxes are spat out by the packing machine, and the ghosts burst out with murderous rage and begin chasing Pit again.*
Pit:
Now right hand over and left hand under, / both join hands and run like thunder! Over the hill and over the dale, / duck your head and lift your tail!
*He passes by a large blinking ball, and as all the ghosts pass through they all turn blue with pink eyes and mouths. Just then, Pit skids to a halt, and there’s Pac-Man standing next to him.*
Pit:
Don’t you stray and don’t you roam, / turn around and promenade home! Corn in the crib pen, wheat in the sack, / turn your partner and promenade back!
*The ghosts stop, turn around, and then turn around AGAIN and promenade right into Pac-Man’s waiting mouth. He then spits out four pairs of eyes which have now been run absolutely ragged.*
Pit: And now you’re home. Bow to your partner. Bow to the gent across the hall.
*The ghost-eyes bow to each other, and then flop onto the ground in exhaustion.*
Pit: And that is all! *plays the last few notes of the song*
Pit: You were right. That was fun!
Pac-Man: The real fun will start once they start wondering how you got that fiddle in the first place.
Pit: For the last time, Pac… It’s a violin!
