Maybe he should have eaten sooner, but he’d been hanging out with Zen and trying to avoid his parents, and it had become something he didn’t think about. His stomach clamped up and he felt sick again, so he finally broke down and pulled a random citizen into an alleyway.

His cheeks split, and his tongue slid out, wrapped around the woman’s neck, and he finally clamped down hard. Draining the woman with several big gulps, he held onto her maybe a little too long, but despite being sick about it, he felt a little better.

Dropping her, he panted heavily, eyelids closed, before he smelled something off. His head jerked up, and he went still, seeing Vern in the mouth of the alleyway. Despite being friends with Tiff, Vernon never really liked him. Right now, he didn’t know him at all, and his stomach turned.
