God I literally hate myself- after those hc's I really wanted to do a oneshot follow up because I'd end up feeling really bad afterwards Also I just watched the last video of Stampy's lovely world and I'm crying Like seriously I'm not even kidding ANYWAYSSS Below will include; Angst, Fluff, slightly funny moments, horrible writing lmao

Maybe Hanako made a mistake.

Maybe he should've continued hesitating. If not for just a little bit longer.

Sitting on the windowsill in his bathroom, Yashiro mopping around the floor, staring out the window.

It felt.. increasingly nostalgic. Both the good and bad type.

"Hanako-Kun?" 'Amane?'

He blinked, freezing up. It was just Yashiro. It was just Nene. He turned to her, giving her a confused look.

"...Can I leave for the day?"

He snorted, finding it ironic that he was so tense, like she was about to turn into you or something.

Would she?

"Why do you wanna go home so early on in cleaning? What, another boy asking for a rendezvous in an empty classroom, organizing papers?~" He teased, Yashiro huffed.

"I didn't even go! You threatened me, Hanako-Kun!" She flicked her hair over her shoulder sassily, turning away with the mop in her hand, holding it to her chest and looking up like she was fantasizing.. something.

"I'm going to be meeting up with a new spirit! It's a little white kitty, and they said they were my protector! Uwaa~, I wonder if they can transform into a hot guy and we can fall in love, ehehe~" Yashiro giggled dreamily.

Hanako was.. not amused, to say the least. He jumped down from his place at the windowsill, turning her to face him. "You're going to have to tell me where this 'white kitty' is."

She happily complied. "They said they'd be waiting for me at the entrance of the scho- Hanako-Kun?" And just like that, he was gone.

Blush colored petals falling between an apparition and a cat, gracefully threading through the air like dancers desperate to be seen.

"The cherry blossoms are beautiful, are they not?" The cat would ask calmly, in that all too familiar voice. But he can't be too sure yet. He needs to know whether this milk white feline has overstayed their welcome. They could cause trouble. However harsh he was planning to treat the spirit in front of him, however, died down a bit with just the sound of a voice. He was weak, and he knew exactly why.

'God damnit.'

"You know, I don't think letting yourself in is a good idea, Yōkai. What if you were a Yakubyō gami, hm?" "I am not a Yakubyō gami, nor do I intend to act like one." It politely shut him down. Okay.. Alright. Maybe assuming a Yōkai was a Yakubyō gami was a bit offensive. Next apparition name, then.

"So you're just an apparition then." It nodded. "My job is to protect those who summon me. I do not mean to cause harm in any way by associating with that girl of yours." He couldn't help but perk up at that. There was a tone beneath their words. He just couldn't tell what it was. "Girl of mine? She's simply my assistant." This might be more interesting than he'd ever hoped for. "And what about you? Do you not have some sort of a human form, or are you too embarrassed to change into it? You seem quite stoic, though.." Does it look like they're laughing? He certainly is. "I.. do. Would you feel more comfortable if I was in it?" He didn't care, really. He talked to Yako on the daily, but.. He was kind of curious.

"I guess so."

He was surprised, to say the least.

Of course it was you. It had to be you.

What did you even do to end up like him?

Why didn't you come by sooner?

He was lost for words, how could he not be? You were standing right in front of him.

His hand twitched.

His leg moved forward.

But he didn't move. He couldn't.

This isn't the first time this has happened. Both as dreams and hallucinations. How can he be so sure? How can you blame him?

He regrets a lot of things. But he has to admit, one of the things he regrets most is leaving you behind.

You're still here though. Your not disappearing, he's not waking up, Yashiro talked about you for heavens sake.

A sob escaped him, taking off in a sprint and tackling you to the ground. God, it's been so long since he's even shed a tear.

Maybe he wasn't alone anymore. No, he wasn't.

He was no longer counting without you.

Soft/cuddly Hanako x Yashiro headcanons

Because what’s one more fandom on this blog at this point? Also, I’ve only watched the anime and I’ve heard that there’s some major angst in the manga, so I’m going to imagine these sweethearts happy while I still can :’)

Warnings: none!

Hanako plays with Yashiro’s hair a lot (and sometimes can’t resist putting it into funny hairstyles)

He’ll sometimes just tackle her with cuddles, squeezing her sides tight and nestling his head into her neck. She’ll grumble a bit at first, but then give in and wrap her arms around him too

This happens quite often when she’s working in the bathroom, and will result in the two of them, much to Yashiro’s dislike, just sitting on the bathroom floor

Eventually, Yashiro will get up with Hanako clinging to her waist while she explains that as nice as cuddling is, she has standards higher than sitting on the cold, probably dirty bathroom floor

“Yashiro, are you implying that you’ve been slacking on your cleaning duties? The bathroom floor shouldn’t be dirty…” “What?! No! I just�� um. No!”

That put the stop to the cuddle interruptions for a whole three days

On the fourth day, Yashiro noticed that Hanako wasn’t bothering her during class like he usually did. She brushed this off for awhile, until she arrived at the bathroom, where lo and behold, there was Hanako with a collection of blankets and pillows on the ground

There was nothing but pure mischief in his eyes as he expectantly held out his arms and said, “You didn’t like the cold bathroom floor, so I got us something comfier!”

There wasn’t any arguing that

Yashiro gets used to how insanely clingy he is, and learns to deal with him constantly peering over her shoulder

That isn’t to say she doesn’t get annoyed still

“Yashiro, I’m pretty sure you did that problem wrong.”

“Any suggestions o wise Hanako?”

“Oh, absolutely no idea! I just know a wrong math equation when I see one!” :D

Hanako endlessly pouts if he doesn’t get his daily dose of cuddles

He is not picky about cuddles at all. Little spoon, big spoon, just a tangled mess, he’ll get his affection however he can

The cuddling grows on Yashiro, mainly because it’s one of the few times she sees Hanako so calm and because one day, she plans to get revenge on him for putting her hair in funny styles

If she pets his hair, he goes very still and very quiet, determined to not do anything that could cause her to stop because her soft, warm touch is about the best affection he can get

They take turns rambling to one another and it’s really cute to see how they just have an unspoken understanding of “okay, you ramble and I listen, and then I ramble and you listen”

Yashiro will sometimes bring doughnuts or other sweets to these lil cuddle sessions and Hanako is absolutely on cloud 9 and squeezing poor Yashiro 9x harder to show his thanks

she is definitely a cuddly person. you cant change my mind. shes afraid she'll crush you to death in her sleep though, so the cuddles have to be you hugging her so that she wont.. crush you.

i think she likes being little spoon! but if you need comforting or whatever, shes happy to be big spoon!

cuddling with her is super fun, and she definitely cuddles with you when she needs comforting. like when she feels weak, or when her gift was fading. you're her comfort!!! youre the person who she looks to for comfort and reassurance

sometimes when you cuddle and shes sad, shes fine with silence. she just needs you with her.

second on the list is.. MIRABEL MADRIGAL!

she is definitely someone who will hug you even if youre sleeping together, just walking, sad, or anything! hugs are her thing! i hc her as an extremely affectionate person so cuddles are a must. i cannot guarantee if you two are cuddling and you want to just talk to eachother that she wont fall asleep on accident.

whenever you two cuddle, if mirabel or you dont fall asleep, you two are talking about random things you think are interesting. or like when she saw the house breaking, when she was tio bruno, etc etc. you two are always talking about that when you cuddle.

she probably switches between big spoon and little spoon, but most of the time shes little spoon!

when you two talk about secrets (or isabela before the whole casita breaking and gifts fading thing happening) but you have to be extra quiet!! cause dolores might hear you!! or antonio since theyre in the same room.

also she'll play with your hair if shes big spoon, but you better play with hers when shes little spoon >:/

speaking of antonio!! he always asks if he can join in or if he can hear what you two are talking about like any normal five year old would.

in third place we haaave.. *trumpet sounds* .. CAMILO MADRIGAL!

he strikes me as the type of guy to cuddle often. like luisa, he cuddles with you when he needs comfort or reassurance. cuddles with him are either silent or you two are having a conversation.

or when you dont feel like talking (like if your throat hurts or something) he's happy to ramble on whatever he can think about! or let you hear whatever little song he made up! (and yes im headcanoning that he makes up songs cause im also headcanoning that hes a theater kid.)

i feel like hes more of a little spoon, but i think he likes pillow talk instead of spooning a lot more. (one time you two were talking about why it was called spooning. you settled on it being cause some peoples body shapes are like spoons.)

fourth is.. CARLOS MADRIGAL!

look, he may not seem like the type of guy to like to cuddle but believe me he does. he secretly does. dont tell anyone about it though, he doesnt want to seem like his brother camilo >:/

hes a big spoon. but i swear if you somehow convince him to be little spoon he'll ask you if you can be big spoon from now on.

he doesnt really have a preference, but hes kind of likes spooning a lot more.

cuddles with him are really quiet, he doesnt talk alot and probably would playfully/jokingly tease you if youre rambling while youre cuddling.

but of course, he'll still listen to you talk about whatever youre talking about. i feel like he'd research on what you're talking about so next time you're cuddling or talking in general he'll know what you mean or throw in some theories or facts here and there.

Only Kou knows about this, but what if the secret got out?

He loves you very dearly, both of you know this, but god do you sometimes push him to his limits

He is a sucker for revenge and paying back what’s given to him, though

Anything you do to him, he’ll do right back to you tenfold

You annoy him when he’s trying to work? Well next thing you know, he’s laying on top of your work as you try to do it and acting like he doesn’t know what he’s doing

You pda him in public and immediately leave to let him deal with the aftermath? Expect to be randomly kissed silly next time you’re talking to friends and have him leave the moment he’s finished

It becomes like a war between you two but you both love it

Hanako pestering Yashiro in class hcs

Because, like Hanako, I have no self control for soft stuff like this :) Enjoy!

Yes, ghosts and protecting the school are very important things that Hanako should be working on, but why bother with that when he has an adorable assistant to bother?

Hanako had Yashiro’s entire schedule memorized within the first day he met her for maximum bonding annoyance time

When Yashiro gets really bored in a class, she and Hanako will play simple games like tic tac toe and eye spy, or just chat via writing

He tries to put her hair up, but Yashiro won’t fall for that as easily as last time

He leans over her shoulder and judges her work

“Are you actually opening your essay with that mushy gushy line?”

In the middle of class: “Hey, Yashiro, say something if you don’t have a crush on me! …… oh, quiet are we…? ….. aawwww I just knew you had a soft spot for me, Yashiro, how cute!”

99% of all he does is pout and try to make Yashiro to pay attention to him because he’s clingy as hell

He’ll lean against her and wrap his arms around her, bemoaning the fact that she’s paying more attention to stupid numbers than him, until she promptly elbows him in the ribs with a movement so quick no one else notices and then he pouts in the corner until she feels bad and then he milks every bit of sympathy until she offers to make him doughnuts

Yashiro has to fight every second to keep her face straight during group projects because Hanako is just gossiping and sassing non-stop

“Wooowwww, and in this paragraph he wrote there’s only fifteen grammar errors! Go on, Yashiro, let’s give him a gold medal for that one.” “Remind me how this classmate of yours hasn’t failed all her classes again…?” “Yashiro, please let me punch him, I’m begging—“

He’ll do funny stuff by messing with the teacher and her classmates until she has to clamp a hand over her mouth to stop herself from laughing

He will be a bit more sweet and gentle if he notices Yashiro is upset, like if she got a bad grade or she’s having a hard time in class. He’ll write her cute/funny notes, look through the teahcer’s lesson plans to give her a heads up on what’s coming, or just quietly sit by her — not talking, not touching, just letting her know he’s right there
