Balancing Hormones: Effective Menopause Treatment Approaches
Tumblr media
Menopause is a natural biological process that marks the end of a woman's reproductive years. It typically occurs in women in their late 40s to early 50s and is characterized by a decline in hormone production, particularly estrogen and progesterone. This hormonal shift can lead to a variety of symptoms, ranging from hot flashes and night sweats to mood swings and vaginal dryness. Fortunately, there are several effective menopause treatment approaches available to help alleviate these symptoms and improve overall quality of life.
Understanding Menopause Treatment
Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT): One of the most common and effective Menopause Treatment is hormone replacement therapy. HRT involves taking estrogen alone or estrogen combined with progesterone to replace the hormones that decline during menopause. This can help alleviate symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, and mood swings.
Bioidentical Hormone Therapy: Bioidentical hormones are compounds that are structurally identical to the hormones naturally produced by the body. Bioidentical hormone therapy, also known as natural hormone therapy, aims to mimic the body's natural hormone levels more closely than traditional hormone therapy. This approach may offer relief from menopausal symptoms with potentially fewer side effects.
Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulators (SERMs): SERMs are a class of medications that act on estrogen receptors in the body. They can mimic the effects of estrogen in some tissues while blocking estrogen in others. SERMs may be prescribed to alleviate symptoms such as hot flashes and to prevent bone loss associated with menopause.

St. Pete Holistic Mental Health Care
Tumblr media
When you’re ready to just be yourself…we’re here for you.
A Holistic Approach To Mental Health
Maybe you’re currently seeing a therapist and they mentioned that psychotropic medicine would be a good next step.
Maybe you’ve been fighting your anxiety on your own but recently have begun to wonder if there is a different way.
Maybe you’ve struggled with insomnia for years and just assumed that’s just how it is.
Wherever you are, we’d love to help.
Chinese medicine views the "spirit" or "mind", referred to as the Shen, as an integral part of our health and our well being. Shen is a term that embodies our vitality, consciousness, emotions, and thoughts. Cultivation of our Shen is considered essential for our overall health and wellbeing. When we experience a disharmony of Shen, it often manifests itself as anxiety, insomnia, foggy thinking, forgetfulness, chronic restlessness and other mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, and various types of addiction.
Through the use of acupuncture and herbs, the Shen can be strengthened and harmonized. Not only can acupuncture and Oriental medicine alleviate symptoms associated with mental health issues, it can treat the root cause of the problem by helping to rebalance the body's internal environment.

hello hello! i just came from a chinese culture day held by a university. our chinese consultant is one of the speakers (acupuncture). even though he said it was voluntary, he strongly urged us to come so we did 😅 the whole morning session was pretty meh for me. as my co-clerk said, they could have incorporated more evidence-based studies rather than going through the history of tea and traditional medicine in general, so that we’d be more interested.
after the talks we were invited by our consultant to eat with them (it was a buffet!). the food was good and we got to talk with his friend/colleague, another PhD i think, who wrote a book about how the pandemic affected the relationship of PH and china. i couldn’t find her book though.
she said they do a lot of community outreach programs, especially to far flung areas where there are a lot of indigenous people. she was flabbergasted by the misuse of the country’s funds (confidential funds of P120M used in 11 days) which has been the talk of the country for weeks now. the funds could have been used to educate more people/improve the education system/bridge the gap between the health disparities but instead, we just have corruption. i instantly liked the old PhD lady the minute she said that because yes sister, the frustrating feeling is mutual. she and our consultant ended their talk with, “you should be able to bridge the gaps between what the govt lacks and what should be.”
to some degree, i agreed. but it’s arguable. those in power should be held accountable for their actions because they hold the most important positions not so they could serve themselves, but so they could serve the people and improve their lives. we, as overworked and underpaid doctors, can only do so much.
anyhow i’m back in my apartment now. i’ll rest before i pack for my weekend trip and pick up my brother from the train station.

Mandana’s orthopedic consultation was not fun. Yesterday the neurologist offered to have his colleague look her over to make sure the back pain wasn’t an orthopedic issue. I was really happy to have another expert check her out before going ahead with the MRI.
What I wasn’t expecting was to be gaslit by an old white guy and his apprentice. From start to finish we were with him for 15 minutes. In that time I could only tell him a fraction of the problem and her medical history surrounding it before he declared Mandana perfectly healthy and “there’s nothing wrong with her” and “that’s just a sensitive spot on dogs, like between their toes”
She may not be in pain this morning but chronic back pain is something she has been dealing with since at least 2022. We’ve done massage, stretches, canine conditioning classes, acupuncture, chiropractor, red laser therapy, NSAIDs, Low Dose Naltrexone and now Librela. You can’t tell me I’ve been making it up this whole time and she’s actually fine. I watch her back twitch and her fur stand up in that spot. I feel the obvious heat coming from that area when she’s having a pain flare. I witness how she stops playing abruptly, avoids activity, has trouble sleeping and swings her head back towards her back when it hurts. I KNOW she is in pain.
So yeah I cried in the parking lot. I appreciate him checking her out. He didn’t charge me for the appointment even though I offered to pay. The neurologist is still moving forward with the MRI. He is a lot more convinced of her issues and that’s all that matters at this point. As far as pain management goes, the Librela injections are helping so much and she has her second scheduled for two weeks from now. She is able to do more and go longer without pain, so the MRI is to make sure we aren’t missing anything that could be made worse by her increased activity now that she’s feeling better.
I’m really hopeful the Librela will help and we can finally move past this. I know what it’s like to live in pain and it doesn’t matter if she can do mobility tasks or not I don’t want her limited because of this. Her appointment is scheduled for 8:15 am Thursday morning. She has separation anxiety at the vet so I made sure she will be first in line. I won’t be able to stay with her for the sedation in this scenario but she will be taken straight back to do the MRI so she won’t have to wait around in their kennels.

Discover Natural Pain Relief Solutions Near You
Are you tired of living with chronic pain? Do you find yourself relying on medications that only provide temporary relief? It's time to unlock the secrets to pain management and discover natural, long-lasting solutions. At Reenew Energy Wellness Center, we specialize in helping individuals find effective and sustainable pain relief. Say goodbye to constant discomfort and hello to a life of vitality and well-being.
Understanding Pain Management
Pain management is the practice of alleviating or reducing pain to improve an individual's quality of life. It involves a holistic approach that addresses the physical, emotional, and mental aspects of pain. Traditional pain management approaches often rely on medications that may have side effects and only provide temporary relief. At Reenew Energy Wellness Center, we believe in a different approach.
The Reenew Energy Approach to Pain Relief
At Reenew Energy Wellness Center, we take a unique approach to pain relief. We believe that the body has the innate ability to heal itself when given the right tools and support. Our philosophy is centered around natural pain relief techniques that promote the body's self-healing mechanisms. By addressing the root cause of pain, we aim to provide long-lasting relief and improve overall well-being.
Services Offered by Reenew Energy Wellness Center
We offer a range of services to help individuals manage and alleviate pain. These services include:
1. Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese practice that involves the insertion of thin needles into specific points on the body. It helps to stimulate the body's natural healing response, reduce inflammation, and promote pain relief. Many individuals have found acupuncture to be highly effective in managing chronic pain conditions.
2. Massage Therapy
Massage therapy is a hands-on approach to pain management that involves the manipulation of soft tissues in the body. It helps to improve circulation, reduce muscle tension, and promote relaxation. Our skilled massage therapists tailor each session to address your specific pain concerns and provide relief.
3. Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic care focuses on the alignment of the spine and musculoskeletal system. By correcting misalignments, chiropractors can alleviate pain and improve overall function. Our experienced chiropractors use gentle techniques to provide pain relief and restore balance to the body.
4. Herbal Medicine
Herbal medicine has been used for centuries to treat various ailments, including pain. Our practitioners will carefully select and prescribe herbal remedies that target the underlying causes of your pain. These natural remedies can provide relief without the side effects often associated with pharmaceutical medications.
5. Energy Healing
Energy healing modalities, such as Reiki and Qi Gong, work on the principle that energy flows through the body. When this energy is blocked or imbalanced, it can manifest as pain or illness. Our energy healers use gentle techniques to restore the flow of energy, promoting pain relief and overall well-being.

I've been contaminated again and can't see Amba, but I talked to the vet yesterday and she's going to get a thorough exam on Monday. She's a little better, but I was really hoping for a more dramatic cessation of symptoms. She's still a little spooky (on and off - she can be chill one day then super anxious the next), and she kept running away when I tried to groom her in the indoor the other day because her back and neck are sensitive. At one point she stepped on the lead rope and got upset, which never used to happen when I let her graze loose at the old barn.
The point of the exam on Monday is just to see if she might benefit from some hopefully short term cosequin and antiinflammatories. The antibiotics finish Wednesday, and I have a feeling she might start to get worse again. But I'm not going to keep pumping her with antibiotics and further destroy her microbiome and immune system. Hopefully by reducing her pain and discomfort we can reduce her stress which will help her immune system recover faster.
I reached out Dr. Harmon the holistic Lyme specialist to see if she would do a phone consult about more targeted herbals and unfortunately did not get a response. I will probably put Amba back on Jing Tang herbals then switch between it and Tic X every month, as well as keep her on probiotics and the colostrum/immubiome. I'm also trying to find someone to do acupuncture on her.
And I spoke to the vet about the dog vaccine and she said she didn't know if it will be effective but thinks at this point it's worth a try. Just have to wait 45 days.

Pierre Gasly: Change rules to prevent ‘porpoising’ or I’ll be walking with a cane by the age of 30
Pierre Gasly is worried he will be walking “with a cane at 30” as Formula One drivers continue to raise concerns about the damage that “porpoising” is doing to their health.
Lewis Hamilton described last weekend’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix as the “most painful” race of his career and there were question marks over whether or not he would be able to race this weekend in Canada due to the back pain he suffered from driving his Mercedes. He has had to have physiotherapy every night along with acupuncture, though it is understood he is not seeking out a specialist.
While the seven-times world champion has confirmed he will race in Montreal this weekend, he is not alone in speaking out about the health problems linked with the bouncing of this year’s car.
Gasly, of the Alpha Tauri team, said the issue had been discussed at the drivers’ regular Friday night briefing last week and called on F1 to change the rules to “save us from ending up with a cane at 30 years old”.
“It’s not healthy, that’s for sure,” Gasly said. “I’ve had a physio session before and after every session, just because my [spinal] discs are suffering from it. You have literally no suspension. It just hits going through your spine.”
“The team is asking me, ‘OK, we can compromise the set-up?’ and I’m compromising my health for the performance,” the 26-year-old added.
“And I’ll always do it, because I’m a driver and I always go for the fastest car I can. But I don’t think FIA [the governing body of motor sport] should put us in a corner where you’ve got to deal between health and performance.
“That’s the tricky part of it and clearly not sustainable. So that’s what we discussed at the drivers’ briefing and kind of alerted them on this problem — and tried to ask them to find solutions to save us from ending up with a cane at 30 years old.”
McLaren’s Daniel Ricciardo, who has not complained before about the bouncing, said after Azerbaijan that he had “really struggled” with it.
“It was, simply putting it, painful. It’s painful – but I guess like, unnatural. It’s literally like someone’s bouncing you like that, like a pro basketball player when they get the ball really low,” the Australian said.
“[It was like] being dribbled, being professionally dribbled by [NBA player] Stephen Curry or something.”
Ricciardo also expressed concern about the potential long-term impact of the bouncing.
“It’s not a normal thing, and I think also the frequency, this kind of shaking of the brain and the spine — I don’t think it’s good long-term,” the 32-year-old said.
“It’s one of those ones where we don’t want to be naive or ignorant and just tough it out when there could be some kind of long-term damage.”
Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz has also “kindly asked the FIA to look into it”.
Michael Fatica, a consultant osteopath at Back In Shape – an online rehabilitation programme for back pain — said Hamilton’s 16 seasons in the sport may be the reason he is feeling it more than other drivers.
“It might well be that Lewis’s body has made some adaptations regarding his spinal position which makes him more efficient while driving, but it means his body is less able to deal with the strain of repetitive impact,” Fatica said.
“The racing seat may have had more of an imprint on Lewis because he’s been doing it for a number of years longer.”
Fatica added that the extensive physiotherapy that drivers received would make it unlikely that they would suffer serious long-term complications, but warned that if the bouncing continued, it could mean that drivers were unable to stay at the top of their game for as long as Hamilton had.
“At this level, all of the athletes need to be the best,” Fatica said. “Any injury means there’s going to be scar tissue in the area, it’s going to affect your performance because your body has been disrupted and you’re competing against people who haven’t been disrupted.”

Embracing Life with Chronic Pain and Discomfort: A Journey of Resilience
Shaina Tranquilino
December 20, 2023
Tumblr media
Living with chronic pain and discomfort can be an incredibly challenging experience, one that affects nearly every aspect of our lives. Whether it stems from a long-term health condition or continues to persist despite medical interventions, the daily battle against pain may seem overwhelming. However, by adopting certain strategies and making necessary adjustments, it is possible to find a renewed sense of hope and live a fulfilling life amidst the struggle. In this blog post, we will explore some practical tips on how to navigate life with chronic pain and discomfort.
1. Educate Yourself:
Knowledge is power when it comes to managing chronic pain conditions. Take the time to research your specific condition, including its causes, symptoms, available treatments, and self-help techniques. Understanding more about your condition will empower you to make informed decisions regarding your healthcare while enabling effective communication with medical professionals.
2. Adopt a Multidisciplinary Approach:
Consulting with various healthcare specialists can provide different perspectives in managing your chronic pain. Consider seeking help from physical therapists, psychologists, nutritionists, and alternative medicine practitioners as part of your overall treatment plan. Different therapies might contribute positively to your well-being by addressing physical limitations, emotional challenges, and dietary concerns.
3. Establish a Support Network:
Living with chronic pain can feel isolating at times; therefore, surrounding yourself with supportive family members, friends, or joining support groups can offer comfort and understanding. Connecting with others who share similar experiences provides an outlet for sharing frustrations and obtaining valuable advice.
4. Prioritize Self-Care:
Self-care activities are crucial for maintaining overall well-being while living with chronic pain. Focus on incorporating practices such as gentle exercises (e.g., swimming or yoga), meditation or mindfulness techniques, adequate sleep routines, proper nutrition, and stress reduction strategies into your daily routine. These lifestyle choices can help minimize pain levels, boost mood, and enhance your quality of life.
5. Pace Yourself:
Accepting that you may need to adjust your daily activities can be challenging but is essential when dealing with chronic pain. Prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and break activities into manageable segments. Practicing pacing ensures that you do not overexert yourself, avoiding exacerbation of symptoms while still accomplishing necessary goals.
6. Embrace Alternative Therapies:
Incorporating alternative therapies such as acupuncture, massage therapy, aromatherapy, or heat/cold treatments into your pain management routine can provide additional relief alongside traditional medical interventions. Experiment with various approaches until you find what works best for you, always in consultation with your healthcare provider.
7. Celebrate Small Victories:
Living with chronic pain means there will inevitably be good days and bad days. Instead of focusing solely on the challenges ahead, celebrate each small victory along the way. Whether it's completing a simple task without excessive discomfort or finding moments of respite from pain through effective coping techniques, acknowledging these triumphs helps maintain a positive mindset.
Living with chronic pain and discomfort is undoubtedly an arduous journey; however, it does not have to define who you are or diminish the joy in your life. By adopting a multidisciplinary approach to treatment, educating yourself about your condition, prioritizing self-care activities and surrounding yourself with a supportive network, you can navigate this path with resilience and hope. Remember that every step forward counts – embrace the journey towards living a fulfilling existence despite chronic pain!
