a post i saw likening joel and scar in their "villainy" in the life series has prompted me to finally express in writing how much mr. goodtimeswithscar terrifies me.
you see. joel and scar have both played the role of the "villain" in the life series (last life, secret life) and, outside of the instances in which they played those roles, are still liable to cause destruction and kill people. imo, despite this similarity, they give off very different vibes.
joel is straight-forward. he enjoys chaos and is liable to stab someone in the back for fun, and everyone knows this. if you aren't engaged in an unusually strong allyship (the bad boys, the mounders) with him, don't trust him. he will murder his own wife for the hell of it. this simplicity makes him entertaining to me, even though i sometimes don't vibe with the way he acts in these series. i expect this behaviour. the expectedness makes him less scary. also making him less scary is the fact that, while he can do serious damage, he has a tendency to make stupid and rash decisions and to kill himself with his own traps. he is a double-edged sword. for every bit of damage he deals to someone else, he deals damage to himself also. a cringefail little guy whom i can only take entirely seriously on certain occasions. not exactly, but quite like a chihuahua - aggressive, evil for no reason, with a lethal bite if it manages to get its teeth in you, but, at the end of the day, a chihuahua. (sorry for the stereotypes. not all chihuahuas, i'm sure.)
mr. goodtimes, on the otherhand, is volatile. i do not know what is going on in his head at any given time. i cannot tell when he is going to act perfectly cordially or decide to burn someone's house down or take a shot at them just to see if he can do some damage. that man is simultaneously perfectly innocent of any crime and completely guilty of all of them, and this quantum state in which he somehow manages to exist makes my hairs stand on end. it is exacerbated by his persona. i do believe that scar gets himself into Situations by accident and isn't putting on a front with regards to his cringefailness. however, he is - at the same time - as sharp as they come. like, scarily calculating. he is the goof character who turns out to be jaded and merciless inside. he will laugh with you, which turns to laughing at you, which turns to shooting you in the head, all the while keeping up this sense of goofiness and half-fake friendliness. bro. it has gotten to the point that seeing his skin evokes within me a deep-seated sense of unease. his eyes, man. his eyes. grian is the same. there is nothing behind those eyes. however, grian lacks scar's redeeming little meow meow factor which endears him to me. grian's just straight-up evil. i don't even trust grian when he's teamed with the person who's perspective i'm watching. (yes, btw, i watch jimmy's pov)
this is why desert duo gives me nightmares btw.

Which Touhou Girls Can You Plausibly Read As Butch? A Comprehensive Overview
Earlier on Tumblr I saw a post complaining that someone called Hecatia Lapislazuli from Touhou Project butch. This is Hecatia Lapislazuli:
Tumblr media
Obviously, like most Touhou characters, she is in fact quite feminine - she just shops at Hell Hot Topic. But it got me thinking: In a series like Touhou, with a cast overwhelmingly defined by feminine (if rowdy) ladies, how many characters could you say are 'butch' without sounding like a complete doofus or significantly redesigning them to fit your headcanon?
CRITERIA
I'll be using four main criteria to judge characters' butchness. In real life, of course, butchness is a multivalent and extremely personal thing, but I'm talking about funny cartoon women from a video game here, so I'm willing to be a little reductive.
These criteria, in order of descending importance, are:
FASHION. In a series where goddamn near everyone is in either a dress or a skirt, the mere act of Wearing A Dress Shirt can be enough to make a powerful statement. Hats may also play a role here, given how many Touhou characters have gay little hats.
HAIRSTYLE. Short hair is not the be-all and end-all of butchness. I, myself, am Decidedly Butch even though I've been growing out my hair since college. But the length and styling of the hair are still a valuable indicator of how someone thinks of themself and wants to be seen.
'TUDE. Could this character be accurately described as "kind of a frat boy?" How do they speak to others? Do they just kind of seem like a character who ought to be butch, regardless of their looks? Do they even lift?
COMEDY FACTOR. Self-explanatory. This will probably only come into play if I run into a weird edge case.
I'll also emphasize that we're grading on a curve here - butchness is being assessed relative to the characters who do not appear on this list. Nobody in this series has a buzzcut, you know what I mean?
THE TIER LIST
Tumblr media
AS CLOSE TO CANON AS WE'LL GET
Fujiwara no Mokou. The girl wears a dress shirt, fucking suspenders, and trousers. Not shorts, actual full-length pants. She's also in a perpetual love-hate mutual-murder situationship with Princess Kaguya, who is femme as all fuck. Obviously you don't have to be butch to date a femme - I'm just saying it feels Fitting given their whole deal.
Yuugi Hoshiguma. Most of the time, her fashion sense is actually quite feminine - but her look in the most recent chapter of Cheating Detective Satori, with the one exposed shoulder and the sarashi and all that, significantly alters the balance. Her hair actually reads as more masc to me when she keeps it long and unruly - when she puts it up in a ponytail, she ends up looking very kempt, even elegant. The deciding factor here is 'Tude: Her sheer levels of butch swag are off the fucking charts. (Still, I wouldn't blame someone for arguing she should be knocked down a tier - especially since I'd argue the Comedy Factor works in reverse here. She's way funnier if she doesn't think of herself as butch in the slightest.)
Minamitsu Murasa. In his original appearance I'd argue that Murasa is in "Reasonable" tier - maybe even as low as "Kind of a Stretch." But her big gay Jotaro jacket in Sunken Fossil World, combined with the emphasis on the weightiness and solidity of his trademark anchor, put her over the top. One of the only Touhou girls I consider worthy of being He/Himmed.
Shinmyoumaru Sukuna. The other He/Him-worthy Touhou girl. Very short, slightly messy hair; wears a kimono, not a dress; inheritor of Issun-Boshi's legacy; wears fucking dinnerware as a hat. Why do you want to be Big so badly, huh? So you can pick up women more easily? So you can carry your awful wife through the upside-down threshold of your upside-down bedroom?
Raiko Horikawa. For the longest time I thought her skirt was a pair of shorts because I straight up could not parse it as anything else. Even now I'm like "that can't possibly be a skirt, ZUN just drew it weird. She has to be wearing a full two-piece suit." Skirt aside, her jacket/dress shirt/necktie are still undeniable, as is her short hair. Also, she is a taiko drum given life, and I feel like taiko and timpanis are naturally butch. Maybe if she was a tambourine or a set of bongos I'd rank her lower?
Momoyo Himemushi. Rough-talking miner. Wears a dress shirt, leaves the top button(?) undone. Tromps around a big weird cave with no shoes or socks on. Wears bows and bangles basically everywhere but in her messy, tangled hair. Also, maybe I'm stereotyping here, but I just can't picture a centipede as being femme.
REASONABLE
Wriggle Nightbug. The dress shirt, cape, and puffy shorts all paint a vivid picture, but I just feel like I don't have a strong enough opinion on Wriggle as a character to put her in the top tier. In other words, she's got plenty of points for Fashion and quite a few for Hairstyle, but I just don't think the 'Tude is sufficient for me.
Reisen Udongein Inaba. The skirts are a strike against her, but her whole "dress shirt + necktie + sometimes suit jacket" thing makes a big difference, especially given that we're grading on a curve. Her rumpled ears and (particularly in Inaba of the Moon, Inaba of the Earth) pathetic demeanor go a long way towards giving her a vibe somewhere between "overworked salaryman" and "Detective Columbo."
Aya Shameimaru. All you need to know about Aya is that her "human reporter" disguise looks like This:
Tumblr media
Mononobe no Futo. Butch, but in a really weird, circuitous way, imo. Like. She's sort of wearing a dress, but it's sort of a robe - the contrast of the hemline with her big flowy sleeves makes it hard to pin down - and her outfit quite notably has tassels rather than any kind of frills. I don't know what the hell is up with her hat but it's definitely not femme by any stretch of the imagination. Then thou hast the wayes in which she speaketh all "faux-olde-timey," even though nobody else in the setting does that... she transferred her soul into a plate, but she also throws plates around as weapons... It's like she's constantly putting on a performance that only she truly understands. It's like she reverse-engineered "masculine womanhood" by hanging out with a bunch of queens and doing kind of the same thing but kind of the inverse. The more I think about Futo the more I think she's entirely on her own wavelength, but I think "Reasonable" tier is a... uh, reasonable... approximation for the sake of this post.
Sagume Kishin. She dresses like if Bill Nye were a woman, and I think that cuts to the heart of it - she reminds me of a professor who you're not ever sure is gay, but you kind of pick up on a vibe, and near the end of the semester she offhandedly refers to "her partner" and you're like HOLY SHIT I KNEW IT. I went back and forth between putting her in "Reasonable" and "Kind of a Stretch"; ultimately, the Comedy Factor decided it because I couldn't stop thinking about a scenario where she says she's a woman, accidentally upends her whole understanding of gender in the process, and ends up taking testosterone while still ID'ing as a lesbian. I don't actually know if her powers would work that way and I don't care.
KIND OF A STRETCH
Eiki Shiki. I don't have a lot to go on, here, because she hasn't had many official appearances and seems to spend most of her time lecturing people or tormenting sinners. Her uniform(?)/apothecary outfit(??) is pretty snazzy; combined with the hat, it gives her a vaguely "military officer" look to me. We'll call her "butch pending further investigation," which I think she would agree is the correct course of action.
Sekibanki. She's here partially because of the cape, and partially because being sandwiched between Wakasagihime and Kagerou makes her look way more masc by contrast. I know what I said.
Ringo. It's pretty much just the hat and the pants, though - as a butch woman who Loves Eating - I am also inclined to project my own experiences onto her.
Aunn Komano. She reads as more "tomboyish" than outright "butch" to me, what with her whole puppy-dog vibe, but at the same time... she's very much wearing shorts and the kind of goofy-looking button-up shirt that is central to my own wardrobe and the wardrobe of other butches in my life. I'm willing to count her.
Takane Yamashiro. A living testament to the power of small character design choices. I would never in a million years call Nitori butch, even with her gay little hat and all the pouches on her outfit - she just looks like a girl scout. Takane, though? Takane, with her little hair swoopy, and the fucking suitcase slung over her back, and her camo-print dress? I mean - ultimately it is still a dress, which is why I can't justify scoring her higher, but she's definitely chewing tobacco and riding around on an ATV on weekends.
Chiyari Tenkaijin. If she's butch, it's not really because she's trying to be butch, it's just because being femme seems too expensive and time-consuming. She's got better things to do (drink blood all day). Still, I think an argument could be made.
DEFINITELY A STRETCH, BUT I RESPECT IT
Renko Usami. ZUN is kind of inconsistent with how he draws her hat - sometimes it's more of a porkpie/fedora type thing, other times it's round-topped and looks a bit like Koishi's hat. To me, this is a crucial distinction. In a more general sense, I feel like Renko's outfit gets a little less plausibly-masc with each passing album, which says a lot about our society. Or her society, anyway, since she lives in the future. Still, the capelets and bowties...
Rinnosuke Morichika. I think it would be really funny if the only significant male character in Touhou wasn't actually even a dude. I'm not aware of any real textual support for this interpretation, though.
Shou Toramaru. Pretty much only on here because of the hair and because I think there's a certain je ne sais quoi to her whole deal of "she's not a real tiger, she's the idea of a tiger that pre-Meiji Japanese people came up with from secondhand accounts."
Seija Kijin. Not even remotely butch by any stretch of the imagination... But if she did consider herself butch, isn't that exactly what she'd want you to think?
POTENTIALLY NOTEWORTHY EXCLUSIONS
Cirno. "Tomboyish" is not the same thing as "butch," to me, especially if you exclusively wear dresses. Also, I'm not sure Cirno even knows what a lesbian is.
Saki Kurokoma. Not actually butch, just a horse girl. (And a horsegirl.)
Mike Goutokuji. Can't tell if she's wearing a skirt or shorts. She's got short hair, sure, but the whole "matching bell collar and wristbands that also have bells attached" thing makes her look more like a Very Online Trans Woman who just figured herself out and hasn't started hormones or bought any new clothes yet.

It's really important that terfs and radfems make men out to be the ONLY representatives and perpetrators of patriarchy because if anyone found out that women could aid the patriarchy too, it'd be so obvious that's exactly what TERFs and radfems are doing.
"girls can only be victims" "women need to be protected" "men should know better than to date a 25 year old girl child" "only biology and sex based oppression is real" "being a submissive tradwife is empowering despite what TRAs want you to think" "women are biologically weaker than men" "feminism isn't about womens rights it's about how men treat women" "how is that woman supposed to know better, a man should have helped!"
These are all things my misogynist grandpa would say.
And let's be real a lot of TERFs/radfems are white. And also het. Just like he is.
Which is very, very important because for a lot of them gender based oppression is the ONLY way they're oppressed.
And the way white women are oppressed is Different. White women have organizations and foundations and speakers and get invited to the WH. Look at Amber Heard. A white cishet victim of patriarchy with a new movie coming out and So Many other women supporting her bravery. Let's look at the Karens who use white womanhood to play victim and successfully get black men murdered over it.
They have the privilege of being able to do that while having no knowledge about the Indigenous Women's Network or the Loveland Foundation. And when were either of them ever invited to speak or propose a new bill?
Their feminism doesn't need to be intersectional because white supremacist men are willing to listen to a cishet white girl. She doesn't need us because our shared oppressors listen to her without us.
But where does her victimhood go if she admits that to us?
Their entire belief system is based on the idea that you can't be feminist unless they experience oppression. Which probably has a lot to do with them believing "men aren't allies cuz they're all our abusers" and "women are just victims"
White women victims are afforded a certain amount of power and authority the rest of us are not.
Wouldn't you want to maintain the little power you have?
That's why they're "gender critical" until you actually criticize their ideas on gender. It's why you MUST hate women if you criticize them.
It's the victimhood they benefit from and their need to maintain it.
Like how are they supposed to justify being transphobic pieces of shit if they admit trans women are NOT men? If they can't be victims of trans people that would have to mean they're just victimizing trans people, wouldn't it? If they, as white women, admitted race factored into feminism a Lot wouldn't that just make them racist for telling black women it wasn't?
Wouldn't that make them oppressors?
Because if they're doing that then they are taking part in systematically oppressing people they have power over. Silencing them.
And that's not possible because women are just so weak and helpless right? They can't be oppressors. It's men. Men built this system. Not them. Women were helpless. Just like right now while a wave of anti-trans legislation is sweeping.
If only men didn't have all the power and women could do something to help. If only trans women and men were oppressed. But they don't count and they just wanna steal spotlight from "sex based oppression" so they're actually oppressing women so women should not help them.
Because by fighting for gender discrimination rights and bodily autonomy just like radfems and TERFs, trans ppl are stealing the spotlight from "real" victims apparently. And we all know increasing white woman victimhood automatically makes you evil with no need for nuance or critical thinking about it.
....Even though trans ppl are are fighting for the same exact rights that TERFs and radfems are fighting for.
Do you see the ridiculous stretch they have to make?? How superficial it is?
Convenient the justification for a bunch of white cis women to sit around doing nothing again while their keepers call inhumane shots, isn't it?
I'm telling you, what TERFs and radfems Believe in is not feminism and it won't serve any cis people or even them in the long run.
They don't want equality of the sexes or anyone else.
What they want is an excuse to sit around doing nothing and ensuring their own safety AGAIN at the cost of everyone else's.
Because in truth what they want isn't actually that much different. They're the favorite for a reason.
But again....where would that leave these so-called feminists if they admitted that?
And then you have the queer TERFs and radfems which is just wild to me.
Do you have any idea how many radfems are trans lesbians? Or even just trans? Way more than makes any goddamn sense.
Coincidence?
I think the fuck not, mon frère.
TERFs made victimhood their personality by villainizing men and trans women and you couldn't help yourselves when you saw how they used it to position themselves could you.
Radfems even frame it like they're the good bigots because their ideas of women being lesser than men is trans inclusive. Like they're more "valid" as victims so they're Real feminists.
Don't be fooled.
None of that is progress or feminism. That's just Patriarchy's favorite doing what they do best; parroting the same exact rhetoric then looking away while Patriarchy and White Supremacy pass legislatation against the rest of us.

Bubz's Slasher Fictober Apple Crumble NSFW Alphabets Day 21: Billy Lenz
Day 21! Welcome to the final day of the third week of Fictober! Thus that means we will be winding down the NSFW alphabets shortly but we still have one more week of Fictober goodies to come!. I do also plan to do more NSFW alphabets in the future including in the fun things I have planned for November and December <3
Notes: Minors DNI, Smut, NSFW
Tumblr media
A is for Aftercare (What they're like after sex):
Not gonna happen, sorry but it's the truth. If anything your going have to be the one who takes care of Billy afterwards if he even sticks around. Though most times he ends up just going back into the attic.
B is for Body Part (Favorite on them and their partner):
On him he likes his hands, he likes how good he makes you and himself feel with them. Though that's about it, Billy has never really thought of his own self long enough to have a "Favorite part"
On you though he likes just about everything. If he had to pick he'd probably choose your ass or your thighs for obviously sexual reasons. Though like I said he really likes everything.
C is for Cum (Anything to do with cum):
Everywhere, literally everywhere, and if you try to tell him otherwise he's not going to listen to you. So be ready for there to always be a mess. The messier the better in Billy's opinion.
D is for Dirty Secret:
Billy is really just one big dirty secret and whether you actually know about his secrets or not is questionable but as long as he thinks you don't know that's fine with him. He does everything from stealing your underwear to watching you shower.
E is for Experience (How experienced are they?):
If creeping on sorority girls while they had their boyfriends over counts then sure, but if not then Billy is the most inexperienced person on the planet when it comes to actual sex. Don't let all his dirty talk fool you, Billy is all bark no bite.
F is for Favorite Position:
He likes cowgirl and reverse cowgirl the best. Mainly because he can just lay there and not do having and have you do all the work for him.
G is for Goofy (How serious are they?):
I don't think Billy is capable of taking anything seriously. Like anything at all really. So expect him to be cackling and talking your ear off pretty much the entire time.
H is for Hair (How well groomed are they?):
Contrary to popular belief and the fact he lives in an attic I do think Billy keeps himself at least slight groomed. He's not the best at it but he doesn't let himself get unruly.
I is for Intimacy (How are they during the act, romantic etc):
This is something I feel like could be up in the air. Like Billy is capable of being at least a little romantic but whether you see romantic Billy or not is up in the air. It depends on his mood and a lot of other factors including if baby Billy wants to throw a fit or not.
J is for Jackoff (Do they masturbate and how often?):
Very often, like almost everyday whether he has you nearby or not. It's almost his favorite thing in the world besides you... and well being a creepy peeping tom murderer, but who's counting.
K is for Kink (Their kinks):
Mommy or Daddy Kink
He has a major choking kink. You'll sometimes have to pry him off if he ever gets a little too into it, but he would never actually hurt you too terribly bad.
Knife play is real big for Billy too. Another instance where he may get too into it but again he would never cause major injury to you.
L is for Location (Favorite places to have sex):
In your bed pretty much always. He likes in the attic for god sake it's not like he ever leaves the house to begin with. Sometimes he might take up a couch or floor somewhere if you can't make it to the bed but he's mostly a classic bed kinda guy.
M is for Motivation (What turns them on?):
If you catch him right after a kill that's when he's most ready to go. He's still got all his adrenaline pumping and also make sure to show up in a slutty outfit. Something about seeing you in barely there clothes drives Billy up the wall.
N is for No (Something they won't do):
There isn't a lot that he wouldn't do, like I said he never wants to cause you any actual severe injuries but they do happen. It's basic as fuck but a big no for him would be anything you wanted to do that involved leaving the house. If you have to leave the house he isn't interested.
O is for Oral (Oral Preferences):
Billy loves to give, like LOVES it. He lives for giving you pleasure and making you happy. He likes to receive too but nearly as much as he likes to give.
P is for Pace (How fast or slow? Are they rough?):
It's a spectrum for Billy. He can go at literally any speed at all depending on his mood. Sleepy slow morning sex to fast hard rough sex after he's killed somebody.
Q is for Quickie ( Do they like quickies?):
Half your sexual encounters with Billy are quickies. Billy loves them, he'll tackle you onto your bed and you won't be able to get him off of you until the both of you have finished about three times each.
R is for Risk (Are they down to experiment?):
Billy is totally down, bring up whatever you want to him and he's entirely down to try it. Bonus points if he ends up hardcore liking it.
S if for Stamina (How long can they go for?):
Billy's good for a few hours, he gets tired and cranky after a while but when he's got full stamina he can go like a rabbit.
T is for Toys (Do they use toys and do they like them?):
Another thing he's entirely down for. I don't think he would use them on himself as much as he would like teasing you with them. Another thing were he loves seeing you writhe with pleasure.
U if for Unfair (Do they like to tease?):
Billy can get mean, especially with his words, but he never ends up teasing you long as it always ends up backfiring and ends with him working himself up and giving you both what you want.
V is for Volume (How loud can they get?):
Billy is loud as hell, he moans, groans sometimes even yells. Hope and pray you don't have any roommates or Billy won't be a secret for long.
W is for Wild Card (Random things):
Billy may not be one for aftercare but you'll get him to stay around longer if you pull his head to your chest and hold him. Billy loves to be held especially by you.
X is for X-Ray (What are they packing):
A good 5 or 6 inches, though he's really skinny without much girth. There's also a curve towards the end of that makes him appear bigger then he actually is.
Y is for Yearning (How high is their sex drive?):
Extremely high though if it's obvious your not in the mood he'll backoff and go jerkoff somewhere.
Z is for ZZZ (How fast do they fall asleep?):
Billy like never sleep really. He's bouncing off the walls pretty much 24/7. So he might leave after you guys are done but sleeping is the last thing on his mind.

Honestly tho, this is years off, probably more than a decade, but I hope just because we're getting a Kalosian Legends game, that they don't skimp out on giving Kalos an actually GOOD remake when the time comes.
Especially as far as Team Flare-centric characters go. They had the most potential as a villain team, and XY dropped the ball so bad with them, I would hate for a BDSP-esque remake to do the same. No joke, these guys were most of the reason I wanted Z back in Gen6.
Like, Lysandre is pretty much at the forefront of Kalos' tech and communication, and is a very influential person there, they could do something with Malva running cover-ups for Flare in the news media, the entire organization is probably full of politically powerful people given the wealth of their members (Kalos could be quite corrupt for all we know), they have this secret stranglehold on the region, and it's scary, like no one in Kalos really had any idea how fucked they were until it was (almost) too late. Even the Champion was likely completely in the dark, their strongest line of defense was a total no-show, even when the Ultimate Weapon had been raised.
We can definitely pin that on Malva tho, since she keeps all of Kalos in the dark with her job in the news media, and as a mole in the E4, she likely keeps any sensitive information from Diantha too. And she gets away with ALL OF IT. Diantha never even knows, like even as far as Masters, she doesn't seem to be aware of Malva's true allegiance. And Malva never shows any regret or anything for what she did, she tries to justify it. She's even actively hostile to the player for taking them down, and routinely threatens to burn them up where they stand. (And this is before she becomes an accessory to murder in Masters, like, this woman smiles as Lysandre prepares to have Volcanion flash-boil a couple Rocket grunts. What is wrong with her.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even the grunts, they're essentially a genocidal secret police of elitist fuckheads who don't give a single flying shit about throwing everyone else under the bus so long as they survive, listening in on Holocaster conversations and having some implicit plainclothes agents (showcased more in Masters tho), and given how wealthy the organization is, it would be very easy for them to make problem people disappear. Imagine if they played up that paranoia factor they have, like, you're on their radar getting into battles with them and interfering with their plans on the regular, Lysandre calls you at multiple points (and definitely knows you're the one causing trouble before the player character finds out he's their leader), you're definitely not safe.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, it would have been neat if Sycamore had been in on it too somehow, maybe a joint leadership with Lysandre or something with how he plays off the man's blatant bloodlust as just him being "passionate"? I was side-eyeing him my entire first playthru. But even tho that turned out to not be the case, it would have been cool if one of them tried to save the other, be it Lysandre kidnapping Sycamore to try to spare his friend from the culling, or Sycamore joining you on the front lines to try to talk some sense into his friend. It was such an interesting dynamic at the time, and it was always such a waste it barely got any development. (At least Masters and Evolutions have made steps to fix that complaint since, but still.)

Oh, I would like to request!! Azul/Vil/Malleus- W, Q, K And one question…Cater is not part of the event? It's just that I didn't see it in the characters on the list for the event and I would like to know if it is part of it or not.
Oh Anon… seems like I forgot to add him in the masterlist (*gasp* shame on me!)
Thanks for asking! Now I can correct this.
Tumblr media
I do not take any responsibility for you reading this no matter which age group you are from!
WARNINGS: Yandere themes, obsession, possessiveness, imprisonment, implied stalking, death, murder, manipulation, unhealthy relationship
Azul Ashengrotto/Vil Schoenheit/Malleus Draconia-K, Q, W
Tumblr media
Kisses: How do they act around or with their darling?
So sweet it might rot your teeth
Azul doesn’t just want you to see him as someone nice
No, he wants you to like him
This leads sometimes to behavior that can be a bit… unsettling…
Does he want something from you? Have you done something wrong? What is it? WHAT IS IT??!
Two faced
Literally flips the switch when someone else interrupts your time together
It’s already bad enough when a student from another dorm has done that
But when it’s one of his own? Respect for our fallen brother
One second he is like “Oh goodness, how fascinating you did this!” and the next he is suppressing the urge to strangle someone
And he does it so well you don't notice
Even if it catches your attention that he behaves differently considering someone else he will just say that they stepped on his foot, making him look a bit angry
Isolating
You might have caught a whiff of it already but Azul doesn't like sharing
So even when he doesn't have the intention of manipulating you in mind he still does it
Oh? You want to meet up with that person? Well not anymore! Now he suddenly heard them talking badly about you behind your back
Before you know it you are all alone
Though, not entirely
Don't forget your only friend! Azul is always there for you
Quit: If their darling dies, leaves, or successfully escapes, would they ever be able to move on?
Self-blaming
Was he so horrible and disgusting that you left?
Azul thinks all of It was his fault
And whilst his... “attentive” behavior most certainly did play a part there are still factors that also contributed to that
But it will leave it's marks on him
Azul will start to starve himself, thinking that if he didn't have control over you leaving he can at least control what he consumes
But it's everything but healthy
In case of death
He also blames himself
But unlike before his sadness isn't a silent kind
If you had just left but still were alive he expresses his anger and sadness silently, a shorter temper or him not being not as happy as he should be in certain situations
But with your death he can't even try to continue
Nights are spent crying under his blanket and during the days he doesn't care about the Lounge
It's a self-destructive path
But maybe he hopes somewhere deep down that he will see you again when the time comes for him
Wit’s end: Would they ever hurt their darling?
Physically
I don't think he has it within himself to hurt someone physically
The worst he might do is due to him being so enraged that he doesn't have himself under control
So if you try to escape that means he could snap and break one or two of your legs
But if he gets violent then he will blame himself
No delusions, just him always apologizing
Mentally
Your mentalities safety is a completely different beast to tackle
You see, this time he doesn't even do it intentionally
It's just that he always has to manipulate the ones around him
And before we know I he suddenly does it without even wanting to
But it won't be too obvious
There are no threats, just subtle things that may seem harmless alone but build up to something bigger over time
Like “no. Don't go out. I heard the weather is supposed to be bad” to “no. Don't go out. They were talking behind your back” which also leads to “no. Don't go out. You only need me.”
Well at least you aren't a broken mess
Tumblr media
Kisses: How do they act around or with their darling?
So kind that you feel like he might try to poison you
Since you are our dear, dashing little player (mind sharing some of that gorgeousness?) you are familiar with how Vil should be
Emphasis on the “should be” because... who is this??! His evil twin turned nice??!
And wasn’t Vil also playing nice with Neige even though he hated him? Should you fear for your life?
But he didn’t mean to scare you with his behavior. Really!
It is just when you appeared, perfection themselves, he couldn’t hold back anymore
Didn’t he say once that he would like to treat you like a normal person since he understands how hard life can be for a famous person
And I don’t know about you but being considered in some places as a “God” definitely falls into my definition of famous so…
But he tries really hard to make you feel welcomed
Maybe a bit too much because before he knows you are suddenly trying to keep a distance
Was he rude in some way? Maybe he has to show you even more respect.
Always concerned about you
Why is there a scratch on your face??! Has someone hurt you?
Vil adores you on a level that should be impossible for anyone
But here we are, him acting like someone possessed when it’s about you
Doesn’t matter if you are in public but if there is a strand of hair out of place he will fuss over you
So you are either thankful about that or you are embarrassed
The choice is up to you but if you ever tell him that you don’t want that be prepared for him to look like a kicked puppy
Quit: If their darling dies, leaves, or successfully escapes, would they ever be able to move on?
Loss of ambition
It’s no secret that Vil is ambition itself
So when you leave all of that suddenly disappears
Why did you decide to leave? Has he done something wrong?
Vil can take a lot. Whether it’s hate online or something not going according to plan
But you not being by his side anymore? Total breakdown
Even though he was always the one fussing over you he still became dependent on your presence
So be a dear and don’t leave, ok?
Otherwise, he will track you down and use not-so-nice means (most likely connected to his absolutely wonderful grades in alchemy)
In case of death
There was still a chance for him to get up again if you were to simply leave (although that would lead to him hunting you down)
But when you died there is no way to get you back
Suddenly there is no Vil Schoenheit anymore
There is just a small sad puddle simply existing
The only time when he feels even the slightest bit of happiness is when he dreams of you
If only he could stay in those dreams forever
Wit’s end: Would they ever hurt their darling?
In public
Vil is a wonder of self-control
Although, it is no surprise since he has to keep himself together
There are after all people watching his every step
So even if you could literally hear something in him rip, probably his threat-thin patience, he is still keeping calm
He just becomes silent and takes you back home
Don’t expect the same silence there though
In private
If Vil was Malleus then there would be a horrible storm outside
But instead, you can see him massaging the bridge of his nose, him holding himself back from hurting you in any way
He will not hurt you in any way that it would be visible
That doesn’t mean though that your mind will also be safe
There are certain potions and poisons which can lead to horrible hallucinations, leaving you in the end vulnerable enough to be reshaped by Vil
But he doesn’t mean you any harm! He just wants to help!
And if that help is changing you a bit so you can be your best self (belonging to him) then he will happily drown you in a sea of sickly sweet tasting liquids and hallucinations
Tumblr media
Kisses: How do they act around or with their darling?
Honestly? Like a lost puppy
But to the sad version, rather like the absolutely adorable version that you just want to squeeze and cuddle and aww lemme pull on those cute cheeks
Is Malleus pushy? Yes. Is he invading your space? Absolutely! … but who could say no to these eyes (am I biased? Maybe. Maybe not)
Also, Malleus privileges
Do you want to play with his hair? Give him some time to kneel so you have better access. You want to pet those beautiful yet (most likely) capable of impaling pieces of keratin? Sure… just be careful, the more you get to the base the more sensitive you are
Also, if you ask if you can pet his tail he will jump from bashfulness (I hc that the thing is extremely sensitive. No “but”’s and “no”’s. I will fight you)
Secretly dangerous toward others
But alas, that beautiful facade is just for you
Malleus hates it when others take his attention away from him
So what better way to keep it than to scare everyone off?
Malleus is aware that others are afraid of him and whilst this is also making him very sad he also sees the benefits
That Heartslabyul student came a bit close, don’t you agree?
No need to worry. You won’t see him ever again
Quit: If their darling dies, leaves, or successfully escapes, would they ever be able to move on?
Disappointed at himself
Oh uh…. Well… how do I describe the end of the world without making it seem too horrible?
Ok, maybe I am exaggerating a bit too much but the situation is bad anyways
You know sulking Malleus? Now take that and mix in a rather unhealthy dosage of disappointment
It’s already bad enough when he is dissatisfied with something he can turn his back on but himself? That isn’t something he can run away from
Imagine a huge storm, cold rain and just the atmosphere that people shouldn’t be staying on this island
But it’s ok. This is all his fault. A perfect being like you has its reason for leaving… LILIA GET MY GOD BACK!!!
Yeah, he can’t let go
But that is really the least of your worries
In case of your death
Denial
No way you died!
See? The lights are still on in Ramshackle! That means you are still there
Jokes on him but that was his magic subconsciously lighting up candles so that he has at least that tiny bit of hope
But once enough time passes (maybe a few years over the average human life span) he finally accepts it
That doesn’t mean it will be peaceful though
He blames himself, saying that it was all his fault
Even if it was something that he had no hand in he will blame himself
But if he was even the slightest bit involved in it he will lay down and sleep for a long time
Why is there a spindle in the corner of the… oh
Wit’s end: Would they ever hurt their darling?
A master at holding himself back
Malleus is aware that he could easily hurt you with just a smithereens of his abilities
So he holds himself back
Let us just hope that his self-control does not waver or I can see you without a head on that pretty little throat of yours
But if you ever were in a situation where he is angry enough which could lead to him hurting you he will lock you in your room
We all know that he is doing that out of selfish reasons be he argues that he needs some time for himself, without the danger of hurting you
Maybe in a week you will be out but expect a building that looks like it survived a war
Worst case scenario
Malleus hurt you
This can end in two ways
Either you are unlucky and suddenly you are haunting the walls of the castle
Or you somehow survived this force of nature and are now standing there with a smol scratch
If you don’t survive we can take a look at the letter above this one
If you do though… drama
My man just panics and if I say panics I mean panics
You will never see this in the game but panicking Malleus is doting Malleus
Even after everything is healed he will be very careful
This might lead to him locking you up because he is afraid that you could get hurt again
Yeah, there is no good ending to either scenario

I will never understand people insisting that it was Jaime's fault Elia and the children died and that he didn't do his job. I don't understand why people cannot acknowledge that the multitude and diversity of factors working simultaneously and opposite to each other is precisely what creates the tragedy of the event(s), these factors being slowly morphed into a mechanism functining on its own accord, beyond any power individual decisions could have. Every single individual in this tragedy (the sack and the rebellion in general) had entirely different motivations and aspirations, and no individual had the full picture at any occasion whatsoever, and this is precisely because of the broader mechanism that was in motion that I mentioned above. And there lies the whole point, the concept of not knowing, not being able to know in advance. The idea of actions, choices, decisions having unexpected consequences that a character could not be able to imagine in advance. Things could have been different if at any point any of the individuals implicated in this event(s) knew the whole picture, or at worst, if they were more careful, more diligent, if they had made a better assessment of the situation at hand. I don't believe what happened was technically inevitable of course. It could have been avoided, which is something that amplifies the tragedy. Of course the individual decisions of any of the factors involved shaped the result. But we need to take into account all these parameters that were at play leading to each and every decision, prior to the decision itself, in order to avoid a bad faith reading of the text. We know everything that happened. The individuals did not know what would happen prior to making the decisions they made.
Rhaegar running away with Lyanna seems suspicious in general and there is definitely a lot of info missing there (which has been confirmed by grrm, meaning there was probably a reason they run away together - and i'm NOT talking about the braindead fanon theory of rhaegar collecting dragon heads like pokemons). Aside from that big hole of info we don't have that would give a solid context for this otherwise pretty inexplicable action, R and L could not have expected in advance that the events would play out in the way they did, they could not know in advance that someone (Baelish?) would spread the news of a literal kidnapping, they could not know in advance what Brandon would do, what Aerys would do, and so forth, and we don't even know when exactly they found out that all these things happened since they were isolated. They for sure could absolutely not know that Tywin, who didn't even take part in the rebellion, would eventually think it would be a great idea to randomnly order the rape and murder of Elia and the murder of the children. Nobody could ever imagine that in their right minds, yes, not-even-jaime-hello, which is precisely why this is an act of TREASON (and treason is an understatement), which is precisely why that act has such an impact and such an aura of horror and shock surrounding it, because of how unexpected and inconceivable it was, and also, how unneccessary it was, at a moment where the war was already won.
The power Rhaegar had in changing these events in any way shape or form was minimal to none, faced with the mad king that could go off the rails at any moment, the treason, the unprecedented cruelty of his enemies that were supposed to be allies, and more than that, the general mechanism already in motion leading to this tragic outcome.
Which leads me to Jaime. Jaime feels guilty for what happeend to Elia and her children, of course he does. He was there, in KL, he was sitting on the iron throne (i think that's when it happened) while the events took place and he didn't prevent them. I would also feel guilty if I were him. Who wouldn't? He was there. If he had thought this through, if he was more diligent, smarter, quicker idk, more perceptive maybe he would have figured this out sooner, maybe he would have done something, maybe he would have been able to save them. That's undoubtedly what he tells himself. Rhaegar would undoubtedly feel extreme guilt if he was alive after the sack of KL (which is a mere hypothesis since the sack of KL wouldn't have taken place had he been alive). Hell, even Ned feelts guilty for what happened to Elia and her children. That doesn't mean these people (i'm talking mainly about R and J) are actually responsible for what happened. That it is their fault that it happened. That they willingly wanted it to happen, or expected it to happen and didn't care, or let it happen in Jaime's case. Jaime's guilt stems from an error of judgement at worst, the fact that had he known every single parameter at play, had he imagined the exact motivations and intentions of a multitude of people and how far they were willing to go, had he expected what would happen in detail, he would have acted differently and maybe, maybe the result would have been different. That's not even certain, given, again, the multitude of factors at play that were beyond Jaime's power. But Jaime of course cannot help but think about the what if. The result could have been different had Jaime acted differently but Jaime acted according to the specific situation he had at hand, according to the specific problem that he had to face. He did what he thought was right in that precise moment. He didn't and couldn't possibly know what was going on outside from his sphere and if he did, we do not know for sure that he could have actually prevented the worst from happenning.
And I'm being exceptionally strict here by attributing an error of judgement to Jaime because I could have just said he was entirely innocent for what happened to Elia and the children, and it wouldn't be false. Again, error of judgement doesn't equal responsibility for what happened, it doesn't equal "moral flaw". An error of judgement does not give the reader a reason to morally judge a character. It is an entirely different thing.
I got this from Britannica :
Tumblr media
I don't get how people can be so dense when reading anything related to the sack of KL and/or Robert's Rebellion in general. "Jaime didn't do his job", "Rhaegar led Elia and their children to their deaths" like, can you actually read? I was unnecessarily thorough here for something that is not all that complicated. It is pretty straightforward actually. It's sad that people do not get it. Like, I see BNFs being all deep and analytical about Jaime's moral struggles and dilemmas and overall tragedy and how he was in a situation that exceeded him and then they're like "rhaegar is the reason elia and the children died". From the other side I see people saying that Rhaegar couldn't have known what would happen and then they're like "Jaime didn't do his job!!!", guys. Guys. I'm begging you. I IMPLORE YOU : correcting a mischaracterization (Rhaegar was stupid/selfish for leaving """""all that responsibility""""" to Jaime) with another mischaracterization (Jaime "didn't do his job" because he's a moral coward) is not the way to go, it is done in bad faith, it erases the entire point of Robert's Rebellion along with a bunch of very important themes in asoiaf (the impossibility of choice, the fact that moral codes are actually a construct and don't always apply/sometimes contradict, and the feeling of powerlessness of an individual when faced with a monstrous mechanism, a system that is beyond their control).

tw suicide i guess but it's from a research viewpoint mainly and also abuse within the nest. also this connects to the sunshine court bear with me
i wrote this whole essay a year ago on suicide clusters in schools and it was focused on high schoolers but a lot of my research came from adolescents as a whole and some of my sources were about college students and i learned a lot about how different factors can create suicidal behavior such as academic pressure, athletic pressure, etc and the combination of many factors only exacerbates this which is all pretty self explanatory but suicide clusters is the phenomenon of when a couple suicides leads to a domino effect of suicides and suicidal attempts. a mainstream pop culture example would be heathers (except the initial suicides were murder coverups) but on a more local scale this happens at a lot of schools and my high school was an example of it. part of why this happens is because it is (unfortunately) common for people to have suicidal ideation and tendencies, but once someone around these people commits suicide, it begins to feel like more of a tangible reality. in addition, being in an environment where even one suicides or death has occurred can often be very depressing and soul crushing and horrible and decrease people's mental states further.
as someone who did all this research and wrote a 10 page paper on this stuff, reading the sunshine court was incredibly interesting. these ravens are ultimately so traumatized and brainwashed beyond belief. they do not realize that they have been indoctrinated and have been part of a cult and they spent so long without being able to talk to anyone who could tell them how messed up the nest is.
like. they were not able to communicate with their families from the day they entered the nest. they were living on 18 hour schedules. they did not leave the nest unless necessary or interact with people outside of their team or ever really seen sunlight. that is beyond absolutely insane.
and their king, riko, kills himself (ironically also in a murder coverup, bringing it back to heathers). and then they are sent home to people they haven't talked to in years. and they don't know how to adjust back to normal life.
so of course they are lashing out. and it does not surprise me that they are trying to end their lives.
and then another one of their teammates kills themselves. and then another one. and then another one tries but is found before it is too late. and it creates this chain of suicides because what do they have to live for if not their team. they are a raven though and through, and even after they graduate and leave the nest, they never really leave. so they all get placed in suicide watch.
and then they are called back for the next season. and that is the worst thing that could possibly have happened to them in terms of their mental health. to make matters worse, they have a new coach who i cannot imagine they will instantly trust. and at the same time, their old coach that they were probably so frightened of but felt like they needed is nowhere to be found. and to add on, the entire power structure of the ravens has been dismantled, and they will all fight to be at the top.
and yes a lot of them are horrible people but a lot of it is a byproduct of the environment they were forced to survive in. some were already violent while others turned to violence when it became needed. they need time to heal and to process and to come to terms with the fact that what they endured was not normal. that playing a sport at a collegiate level, even for the chance to go pro, should not mean completely devoting your entire life to the sport and nothing but the sport. that it is crucial for their mental wellbeing to experience life and relax and have fun and eat junk food every once in a while.
and while i'm so glad jean is out of there and is able to start healing, my heart goes out to the ravens who are still stuck in the nest. because yes, they have the choice to leave, but they do not have the mental capacity to even realize that that is an option.
but i hope in the next book we see them slowly start to break. that the summer they had returning to normalcy alerted something inside of them deep down that what the nest is and how the ravens operate is so fundamentally wrong and so, so messed up. and i hope that the new coach isn't a bastard. but i don't have high hopes about that. to be completely frank.
all in all, the phenomenon of suicide clusters is a big issue, and i hope that at least one person found it interesting to read about the sunshine court and the ravens through the lens of suicide clusters. if you ever need mental support, there are more resources now than ever. your life is worth so much more than you could ever even comprehend. every little dot on this planet makes a difference. i love you all.

IWTV S2 Ep1 Musings - LDPDL smdh
Tumblr media
My daughter Claudia is NOT. PLAYING. AROUND.
Tumblr media
I had to giggle here, cuz it just reminded me of what she said in S1:
Tumblr media
Claudia will drag Lestat AND Louis each and every chance she gets, bless! 😂
Tumblr media
Aaaaaaaand the racists. 😒 Eat ALL of these mofos, YAAAAAS~!
Tumblr media
I am SCREAMING at the cinematic poetry--Louis is talking about not burning Lestat, as Lou & Claud can't get warm enough at a fire where they're burning the dead Soviets they just ate.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While Claudia sits there giving Lou the cold shoulder & the silent treatment, icing him out so Louis only talks to himself--I HOLLERED.
Tumblr media
My daughter KNOWS!!! DRAG HIM, CLAUDIA!! ^0^
But then I cried, cuz WAIT. If Louis is talking to himself, is this also factoring into why he's seeing DreamStat? Cuz Lou's also desperate for connection, which he can't get from Claudia anymore either! 😭
Louis said DreamStat "came by invitation," as a colorful & vibrant "distraction" (read: comfort) from the dull monochromatic grey Eastern European land. But Lestat is bloodsplattered & filthy just like everyone else.
Tumblr media
The question of his guilty conscience: what does Lestat feel/think about Louis? And what is Louis projecting?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That's all Louis wants to hear--that Les misses him and forgives him.
Tumblr media
"I'm glad it was you...a la fin." We still need confirmation that Lou slit Les's throat, not Claudia. Cuz this will also point to how much Lou is lying to himself about how betrayed Lestat really felt--that his death would be better by Lou's hands than Claudia's. Is Lou making himself feel better by giving Les the coup de gras, and thinking Les is grateful to him for it?
Tumblr media
Cuz he's clearly scared to death that WHEN--not IF--they reunite, Les will be pissed and hate/kill him.
Tumblr media
Cuz Lestat's love was what kept Louis alive--Lestat loving Louis saved/damned Louis' life. (The Merrick of it all, istg.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So it's WILD that Louis thinks this. That the split second Louis finds happiness, the boogeyman Lestat will come and kill him, or take it from him--or just be there as a hallucination constantly reminding Louis of what he left behind.
As an aside:
Tumblr media
It was a BAT--that's cute! XD
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Louis in denial as he tells himself choosing Claudia over Lestat was worth it. And Dream!Stat chanting "I do" like frikkin wedding vows, then choking on the words/vows as a vampire bat claws out of his throat--I CANNOT with this show anymore.
Tumblr media
This is interesting--the 7000 people he killed in Eastern Europe were a necessary evil--Lou calls them "souls," when Les called them "the Meat" and Claudia called them "Kill Juice." And in Paris he only kills once every other day. They ALL feel like murder to Louis. But Louis KNOWS he never killed Lestat!
Tumblr media
He put Lestat in the dump the same way Grace put his name on that tombstone--it's the DISTANCE that's killing them.
It's separation & absence, which they HOPE will make the heart grow colder--when we all know that's not how the saying actually goes.
Tumblr media
So who are you REALLY fooling, Louis? Cuz it for sure ain't Claudia!
Tumblr media
She said "you slow us down!" 💀 But Louis warned you: "I can barely speak French and English. I'd just hold you back.... You don't need me. You think you do, but you don't. You're smarter now. You see trouble coming a mile away." If only they'd've BOTH remembered that bit once they got to PARIS. 💀💀💀
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This dude, I swear. No wonder he never joined the Theatre; he can't lie for ish! 😅
Tumblr media
And I OOP! 👀
By the end of the episode we get Louis' BEAUTIFUL "You and Me" monologue to Claudia, and she finally accepts his apology and promise that he won't kill himself like Draciana did.
Tumblr media
MERRICK COME THROUGH! 😭
Which nearly made me cry when you finally see DREAM!LESTAT SITTING RIGHT THERE. 😭 Who is Louis REALLY talking to!?
Tumblr media
As he always does when in denial & running from his problems (all the way to effing Romania, ffs), alcoholic!Louis "runs to the bottle and to bad beds."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I REFUSE.
I CANNOT.
I SHAN'T.
Louis, if you don't stop right this moment ISTG! 😭😭
I love this effing show, omg what a great start to the season!

What’s toxic about JonMartin in canon?
It's a really interesting question to get into because there are many factors at play. Under a cut for length.
First of all is the simple fact that they don't know each other. From MAG 159:
PETER
It’s odd, really. You each think you’re so focused on the other, but how much do you really know each other? How much time have you spent together when not working, or bickering, or fleeing from that latest thing that wants to kill you? So. What are you seeking? The image you’ve each created of the other? The people you think you love don’t exist. Not really. And that’s a very lonely place to be.
ARCHIVIST
(cutting off Peter’s echo) Shut up!
Yes, it's a manipulation attempt, but Jon notably doesn't offer a counterargument to his reasoning. Furthermore, it's true: they haven't had the opportunity to get to know each other, at least that we've heard. Not even Jonmartin enthusiasts seem to agree on the question of when exactly Jon started reciprocating Martin's feelings; most of my mutuals share my experience of being completely blindsided by MAG 159/160 and the confirmation of their feelings.
"I need him to be okay" is often cited as proof of Jon caring personally about Martin, but I always viewed it as him clinging to the concept of Martin as his last surviving original assistant; he obviously feels responsible for him and also views him as a symbol of simpler times.
Then there's the fact that they're incompatible. To put a simple example, they don't even get each other's jokes. A brief selection of instances where this happens:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They have the highest ratio of missed jokes I remember seeing between characters in this podcast. This sharply contrasts with, for instance, Gerry, who instantly clicks with Jon's style of communication.
Okay, but this is all about why they're incompatible, which doesn't necessarily imply toxicity. That factor comes in because, throughout season five, Martin is (to put it bluntly) an absolute dick to Jon.
In MAG 181, for example, he joins in on laughing at Jon with Salesa for being powerless, when Salesa at that point was an unknown variable that could've easily been an enemy:
ARCHIVIST
[Compellingly] Tell me what happened.
SALESA
No.
ARCHIVIST
I – uh… W-What?
[DEEP CHUCKLES FROM SALESA]
SALESA
The look on your face! Look, he’s so confused!
[MARTIN LAUGHS A BIT TOO]
ARCHIVIST
Martin!
MARTIN
Sorry. Sorry. Y-You did look kind of funny. It was l-l-l-like you were flunking an exam or something.
Notably, this is after they cross an unknown threshold into the place where an agent of the Web is living, which puts Jon (again, powerless for the first time in a while) in a position where he's at the mercy of the fear that destroyed his childhood. Either Martin is being very insensitive or Jon didn't tell him about Mr Spider, which wouldn't mean anything good re: how well they know and trust each other.
From the same episode:
SALESA
And you?
[SOUND OF A DISGRUNTLED ARCHIVIST]
MARTIN
He’ll behave.
You can make an argument that I'm reaching with everything else in this post, but "he'll behave" is an inarguably disgusting thing to say about your partner, especially when he's in such a vulnerable position.
And then, of course, is the matter of the killing spree.
It starts because Jon impulsively avenges his friend, which he wasn't going to do until the Not-Them basically baited him. (Of course he then felt more secure in his power and part of him enjoyed it. He's in this situation because he was systematically traumatised on purpose by Jonah and forced to read his statement.)
And then, when Jon admits to being ashamed of himself for having these powers, for enjoying them, Martin just bluntly tells him that they should "get their murder on" because "these things" (avatars, of which Jon! Is! One! Nice job implicitly dehumanising him!) are "just evil" (never mind that some of them might have circumstances similar to Jon's). (Also, never mind that revenge fixes nothing, but that's neither here nor there.)
The most egregious example is with Oliver Banks. I know "I'm not going to kill a man just because you're jealous" became a meme line, but it's really not the sign of a healthy relationship.
MARTIN
…Cool, so what’s the problem, then? Take another monster off the hit list; job done.
ARCHIVIST
…It’s not. That simple?
MARTIN
Well, what does that mean. (slight pause, insistent) What does that mean, John? What, what happened to Kill Bill? (barest of pauses) John? John, you said –
ARCHIVIST
I know what I said, and I don’t – (sigh) I don’t know, Martin. I just – I don’t think he’s – (sigh) I don’t know; I don’t think he’s evil.
[Something creaks.]
MARTIN
(really?) Oh, yeah, sure; he’s probably a really kind, benevolent ruler of a hellish fear prison.
I get that Martin is trying to project evil onto every avatar in order to distance himself from them because he's coping badly with having a domain of his own, but maybe don't do that in front of your boyfriend who's struggling with his own avatarhood and whether that makes him a monster. Martin's phrasing even parallels Jon's "all you lose is another monster" line from S4. Tying Jon's worth to some arbitrary definition of humanity that he giveth and taketh away on a whim.
Also, Jon is very notably a person who likes to think things through before expressing them. If Martin can't even be patient while he tries to explain something complex, they're clearly not compatible.
This is from before they kill Jude Perry:
MARTIN
…No. No, I’m not going to choose; I don’t, I don’t think that’s a fair decision to put on me. It’s your revenge; your choice, not mine.
This strikes me as hypocritical. Martin can push Jon to kill the avatars he doesn't like even when Jon clearly isn't comfortable with it, but then places the weight of the whole thing on Jon, as if the killing spree had been his idea. Why isn't it a "fair decision to put on him" when Martin has tried to choose every time until now?
And, I mean, Martin apologises for the pressure, for what it's worth. Except no, the topic comes back, and not in a good way.
ARCHIVIST
What happened to “Kill Bill”?
MARTIN
You weren’t meant to enjoy it this much!
This is about Jon suggesting using his power in a way that would actually make a bit of a difference. Of course it's a fallible suggestion, but Martin's response is just ridiculous. Martin clearly enjoyed the killing spree until it was Jon who put an end to it.
Martin casually dehumanises, dismisses, and belittles Jon on many occasions: treating those Jon's obviously projecting onto like monsters, being whiny and impatient about the statements he needs to survive, or interrupting his train of thought.
Finally (for this post--there were many scenes that I skipped), there's the matter of how the entire crew, Martin included, systematically dismisses Jon's input in the last few episodes. It's like his opinion doesn't even matter, when he's the one arguably best equipped to understand what's happening.
It's genuinely painful to listen to.

"I didn't," he said quietly, a show of ridiculous defiance he seldom afforded himself. But his home was being turned into a fucking vampire den! Helle went and looked at his treasured family photos, his decorations, touched all his possessions, all while he could do nothing but sit on the sofa and wait for them to leave.
And then they came back. Again. And again. And again. Because they could, and because this was now their new favourite hangout spot; ever since the fucking date night.
"No, I think you did." They gave him a look, a warning, one that Beck always felt compelled to heed. Not this time. He thought he had enough pent up anger to be a little disobedient, so he steeled his nerves and decided to speak up. Well, about as well as a mouse would've against the neighbourhood cat.
"You– you're being... very unfair," he said slowly, forcing out the words one by one, considering each one before committing to it. That wasn't what he'd wanted to say, of course. But he somehow had to repackage his... more blunt sentiments. "And, and you can do that, you can absolutely be as horrible to me as you want. I can't... I can't do anything about it. But I don't want to play along today."
Helle's expression turned playful, and they rolled over to one side of the bed, petting the other as an invitation. Beck wanted to explode when he saw his own fucking bed being offered back to him at a price — a very steep price at that. He didn't want to be anywhere near the fucking vampire.
"Oh, come on," they insisted when he didn't move. He just shook his head.
"Please, get off my bed. You're– you're in your street clothes, and you're rolling around on my blanket that I use after I've showered and I'm clean–"
"Oh, is that the issue?" they asked with a mischievous smile, glancing down at their clothes. "If it is, we can definitely remedy–"
"It's not! It's– it's one of many issues!" he snapped, his little outburst startling him more than it did Helle. "S-sorry. I– just, please, get off."
"You know, sometimes I like it when you get mad at me. Even beyond just the entertainment factor. Because, you see... you are so bland on the surface, but whenever you get angry, it is almost like... I can tell there is something more there."
Bland? What kind of backhanded compliment was that? Or was it just an insult? Beck was so caught off guard that he couldn't even respond before Helle had already moved on, petting the bed again.
"Now, do get over here before I lose interest and just start snapping some bones for fun."
He swallowed, the memory of Helle holding his wrist in their hand and cheerily explaining how easily they could break it seeping back into the forefront of his mind and making his legs move of their own accord. "I said I was sorry," he tried as he carefully lowered himself onto his bed like it was a minefield.
"Yes, I know. And more often than not, I am also fine playing along. But not today, right? Today we are brave and honest."
He hated the way they said that. He had no idea what stupid game they had in mind that required them both on the same bed, but he was starting to get increasingly nervous about it — while Helle easily propped themself up on their elbow, lying on their side, looking at him excitedly like they were at a sleepover.
"I want you to tell me what you actually think. Of me, of spending the night with a vampire, with the specific vampire who has been so mean to you. I want to hear it."
"Wh- what?"
"It is painfully obvious that you are holding back. An understandable choice. But now I want you to just say it. Tell me something absolutely vile."
"I, I don't... I... no, but this, this is what I mean, this is unfair, how can you even– you, you could hurt me so badly," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Is that an invitation?" They raised their free hand before he could answer, cutting him off. "I know, I know. It is not. Not yet, anyway. But very well, if you will not share of your own volition, you shall share under enthrallment."
Beck sat up immediately, his urge to get away suddenly unbearable. "No! No, you said you wouldn't, you said you wouldn't use it!"
"I will if I have to," they cooed. "Or you can just tell me."
"I... will I be punished for this?" he asked hesitantly.
"Oh, Beck, stop being such a coward for one second. Indulge. I can tell you my most depraved thoughts about you in exchange, if–"
"No. No, I, I don't think I want to hear any of that."
"Well, I might tell you anyway. But for now, let me hear your honest opinion."
He didn't want to be enthralled. Now that he was so focused on it, he could already feel it creeping closer and closer at the edges of his consciousness, poking and prodding and gently pushing him to just do it. He knew it could turn vicious at any moment, seizing the information by violently ripping it from his mind against his will.
"I hate you," he said in a shaky little voice, ruining weeks of fantasies of himself yelling these words at the vampire. "I, I hate everything about you, everything that reminds me of you, I hate feedings, I hate you being here, I hate you touching me and my things and, and bringing who knows what into my house, you're ruining my life, I– I wish–" He cut himself off, and Helle pushed further into his mind, forcing the words out of his mouth without his consent. "I wish you had been buried with a stake in your heart back whenever you died. I wish I was there, seeing it through, I wish I could've done it. Hell, you're the only reason I keep a stake in my home, you're the only vampire I ever imagine killing, but I imagine it often and in great detail. I am thoroughly fucking disgusted by you, and I truly wish you were dead and rotting somewhere."
Their hold on him suddenly disappeared, and he was left with the knowledge of what he'd just told Helle to their face. He couldn't run away. He couldn't defend it. He couldn't explain it away. All he could do was sit there and watch them process all of it, hoping that whatever punishment this warranted, he could negotiate it to be a little lighter.
He had never realised just how terrifying a concept enthrallment was. He had been spoiled before, continually presented with choices he thought were impossible... but no, impossible felt completely different. It was his mind being effortlessly taken over and toyed with, it was being helpless, completely helpless against it.
"Okay," Helle said after a while, plopping down onto their back. "Bring your stake and get it over with."
"What..?"
"If you do not comply with this order, I will find the stake and drive it through your heart."
Beck almost fell off the bed in his haste to grab the stake from the drawer of his nightstand, clutching it in his hands uncertainly as he turned back to see Helle still lying on their back, docile as ever. They didn't make a single move to stop him as he reluctantly inched closer.
"You– you wouldn't actually let me," he stammered, and they shrugged.
"You are not going get a better chance."
Well... that much was true. And yet, all he did was kneel there on the bed with a stake in his hand and stare at the vampire.
"You know, from the amount of family photo albums I have flipped through, I could easily find and recognise your mother. Or your brother, really. I wonder whether they would be any more fun, or this particular brand of blandness runs in your family." They looked up at him with a coy smile. "I might just go find out for myself after I've staked you."
There weren't many things Beck was as fiercely protective of as his family. Rage bubbled up in his chest with every word Helle uttered, and he instantly moved to straddle their waist, raising the stake high above his head. He had a clear shot. Helle wasn't defending themself. They were telling him that only one of them was going to leave this room alive, and that if it was them, they would slaughter the rest of his family.
And yet... now that he was actually here, on top of the vampire who had been tormenting him, the thought of killing them was intimidating. It wasn't even killing, all he was doing was sending them back where they belonged! But... but what vampire would take over their territory? Would those vampires grab him too? Would they immediately enthrall him, pump him full of venom, leave him to die? Did he... did he really hate Helle that much..?
He shook his head a little, trying to get rid of the thoughts. This had to be the lingering effects of the enthrallment he'd read about. He did hate them, he hated them more then anything, he wanted them dead, properly, permanently dead. And yet his body wouldn't comply. He wasn't a murderer. He just... he couldn't...
Beck flinched and almost dropped the stake when Helle suddenly moved, trailing their fingers up his thighs, over his hips and onto his waist. He lowered his hands to push theirs away, but they were faster, grabbing him by the wrists and tugging his hands over to their chest. The point of the stake was now right above their unbeating heart, mere inches away from killing them; and they looked up at him with the same calm as always, almost– fond, or... or...
"You could do it now," they whispered, not letting him pull his hands back even if he wanted to. "All those mean, condescending insults, all that pain from feedings, all the ruined date nights, all that frustration from having to tolerate a leech like me in your home... gone."
"I can't," he whispered back, trying to blink away tears of shame. He just couldn't. His life was on the line. His family's life. And he couldn't.
"Why?"
He shook his head again. Maybe he didn't fully know, maybe he just didn't want to talk about it. Maybe he felt like he could just say no now that he was holding a stake to their heart.
"I thought you hated me."
"I do." His hands were shaking badly, worse by the second as Helle slowly worked his fingers loose from the stake. "But I– I don't know what would happen afterwards. And I don't want to kill anybody–"
"I'm already dead, Beck."
"I know." He let them take the stupid piece of wood, the one he now knew he'd never actually get to use because of his own cowardice. He yelped when Helle suddenly flipped their positions, settling comfortably between his legs and putting the pointed end of the stake against his heart.
"I let you do this because I thought it would be a nice little lesson," they said easily, almost pleasantly, no doubt enjoying the way he trembled under them. "I knew you would not be able to do it. At least I was confident enough. Of course, had you tried, I would have simply stopped you... but you did not even try."
There was no trace of fear in their voice or on their face from having been so close to death, nor was there a single tremor that would've run through their hands as they threatened someone with a very much lethal weapon. This wouldn't have been their first kill; nor their first death, for that matter. Beck stifled a little whimper at the thought.
"Whether you admit it or not, you love to hate me. You love to point to me and say I am the source of your problems, you love to fantasise about my death being the end of your misery, but you know it is not true. You love knowing that you do not have to fear vampires out at night anymore, aside from the one you already know. One that is, quite frankly–"
"Spoiling me," he blurted out, and their smile widened.
"Yes. Spoiling you. No magic. No quick and easy scrambling of your fragile, human mind. You love to think I am strict and cruel, because it makes you feel better about the world. You love to think I am the worst of it. But you know it is not true."
"I do, now." He could hear the blood rushing in his ears as he stared up at the murderous being so close to killing him, and he dared hope they wouldn't. Because he knew them, and they knew him, and he dared hope that in itself was enough to keep him from dying tonight.
"I killed my sire like this." They sounded nostalgic, as though they were recalling their most pleasant memories. "There is something... quite special about staking someone. Forcing a piece of wood between their ribs, piercing their heart... I do love doing it. It is quite... intimate."
Beck felt the point be driven further into his skin, nestling between strands of the fabric in his shirt and drawing blood underneath. Maybe he wouldn't have been able to drive it through someone's chest without any momentum. Helle was definitely more than capable.
He held his breath, waiting for his death as the vampire watched the droplet of blood soak a small circle of red into his pristine shirt. Then they threw the stake aside, grabbing a hold of his wrist instead. "But if I staked you tonight, how would I ever turn you into my adoring little vampire servant? No, I am afraid that will have to wait." They kissed the inside of his wrist, and Beck shivered, bracing himself for the bite that would come as a direct result of his own incompetence. "But I am very pleased that this honesty hour has brought us a bit closer together."

My memory is terrible so I wanted to do a breakdown of my stuff every once in a while. Might be monthly, might be whenever I feel like it. Also there are too many shows on and something is always finishing or starting so a month is a lot.
BL - Currently Watching
1000 Years Old [2/12] - It's silly, and entertaining and makes me laugh. The friend group is delightful and I'm having a good time watching them. Was excited for a minute when Yo suggested a haircut for Pun because I cannot handle that wig. 🤞
Anti Reset [5/10] - This is one of the most frustrating shows I've watched in a while. The show doesn't seem to settle on what is actually trying to say about the AI of it all, and when it says something I'm not crazy about it. Why is it so frustrating? Because they are so fucking endearing when they're together on screen. I wanna love this show so much.
Cherry Magic Th [11/12]– I love them so much. I'm fascinated by the choices that the show is making. As a big fan of the manga and the jbl I came into this with reservations and this show is just blowing my mind. This was the best episode 11 of all time and Tay/New are delivering. My heart is so full with this.
Cherry Magic Anime [7/12]– Another helicopter ride! Yay. The date song was hilarious. We're now getting to the point where they are dating and Adachi is feeling guilty for lying so I'm curious how the show will adapt the next phase of the relationship.
Dead Friend Forever [10/12]– Glad to see we are all on board with Tan's murderous impulses. It's been so much fun having more people join in on the fun. As for me, I NEED White to stay alive. That's really all I want. Getting curious about how Perth factors in to all of this.
My Strawberry Film[2/8] - I feel it coming. I see sadness in my future. But I'm bracing because I'm loving the look of this show. And pining boys are my favourite type of boys. I'm ready.
Ossan's Love Returns [8/9] - The videos messages destroyed me but then that ending made me annoyed. I don't know what to expect in terms of Kurosawa but I hope he's not actually dying and there's a really good reason for all this. Medical mal practice might be the thing. Although as @twig-tea pointed out to me, since it was said in show it might not actually happen. I want happy for the ending anyway.
Perfect Propose [5/6] . Why must I only have them for 6 episodes??? I need more. Kai is everything to me, and that back hug followed by that smile melted by cold heart. Hiro's boss needs something heavy to fall on him from a great height. And please Hiro, sweetie, I need you to eat better and sleep.
Although I Love You, and You? [7/10]- Sakae is letting me down. And by that I mean, the show is letting me down. Sakae needs to put his foot down with Mizuki and go back to being a fool in love with Soga.
To Be Continued [1/8] - It's not amazing. but I'm a sucker for second chance romance and there are two couples so there's a 50% chance I will like this. We'll see. Also, they need to start hiring younger actors for the high school flashbacks. This goes for A Secretly Love too. Having 27 year olds and up playing ten years younger just won't do. It's terrible.
Unknown [2/12] - I'm intrigued. Not completely sold yet but I'm liking it so far. Also nothing would keep me away from watching Sam Lin again.
Also watched the first episode of A Secretly Love and caught up with City of Stars but it's on the 'I need to shut of my brain' schedule so I'm not necessarily watching to weekly.
BL - Finished
Cooking Crush - I will miss all of them. I loved it so much. The whole cut/uncut version thing was annoying and the editing was weird at times but overall this was wonderful. Communication done right. Relationships and character growth was stellar and both couples won my heart. Aungpao really surprised me, considering he was surrounded my pros on all sides. Dynamite was a joy to watch. And OffGun delivering with all the kissing. Everyone should watch this.
The Sign - I mean, what they did to this show is absolutely insane. Not airing the finale like the rest of the show. Having to pay extra for happy ending is ridiculous (although I kinda predicted this and @lurkingshan is my witness. I said as a joke and it turns out reality is a joke.) Then waiting 2 whole weeks for whatever that was. Just the most unsatisfying experience. Go read this from Shan because I agree with everything said there. Also @bengiyo final thoughts here really echo how I felt about this show overall.
Happy Ending - 20 minutes split in 3. Why? No idea. Was it a happy ending? I think so. Was it cute? Sure. Was it great to watch Seong Hyuk again? You betcha. But I didn't love it. I need Choco Milk Shake S2, like, TODAY.
Playboyy - It ended.
Rose Watches OJBL - I feel bad about this. I didn't watch any of the ones I planned to. This might seem like whatever but I've been trying to catch up with awards season films, because since uni, me and a couple of friends always do it and finish it by watching the oscars together and so ojbl was were I dropped the ball. Gonna restart soon though.
Not BL - Watched this month

Unpopular Opinion: Island of the Slaughtered doesn't make much sense to me honestly... I don't hate it, but the serial killer wouldn't last a day after there's revealed to be one on the island... Because Chef is a psycho that probably went to war and would snap the killer like a twig... Or Chef and Chris would get guns and shoot the killer down... Also, some of the contestants are strong enough to take down wild animals... The killer wouldn't stand a chance against their combined forces... Plus in canon, Chris and Chef did try to save Gwen from a killer (and Gwen defeated the killer)! XD
Island of the Slaughtered was actually what initially drew me back in to Total Drama as a whole, which is ironic because the AU itself kind of got overshadowed by the source material for me.
I like the concept, and the execution is really good too, but I haven't really interacted with the AU at all besides following the Tiktok uploads when they dropped last year. So please excuse me if anything I say here is inaccurate.
But I'm fairly certain that a pivotal plot point of the AU itself is the fact that both Chris and Chef abandon the campers on the island at the first sign of foul play; Chef wouldn't be there to fight off the killer. And that's not exactly out of character for them either- both Chris and Chef are shown throughout canon to not care for the safety and wellbeing of the contestants, and the two of them would believably prioritise their own wellbeing over the campers' survival.
And as far as the strong contestants go, the only characters in Island who would really stand a chance against an active serial killer would be the likes of Eva, Izzy and maybe Duncan- who all survive the massacre because the killer never targets them. I don't know if that's a sign of intelligence on the killer's part or pure coincidence, but it's true nonetheless.
Courtney later shows off her physical prowess in Action, but throughout Island there's nothing to indicate that she could take on a serial killer alone. Since the AU is based in the canon of Island, she doesn't count as a "strong" camper. In the same vein, DJ is very strong, but he's also a 'gentle giant' who's hesitant to cause physical harm to anyone- he wouldn't have the courage to confront the killer.
In the AU itself, the killer works more as an ambush predator than your stereotypical "hunt and kill" murderer; the only time a contestant is ever killed is when they stray from the pack. A huge aspect of this AU is "safety in numbers", the only time someone ever dies is when they're alone and/or in a vulnerable position. This implies that the killer themself is never too far away from the cast; they're always watching, hidden in the shadows, waiting for an opportunity to pick off the weakest links as they stray too far from the safety of their group.
Would it have made more sense for the group to attack the killer as a united front (allowing the likes of Eva, Izzy and Duncan to subdue/kill them in turn)? Probably. But at the end of the day, these are frightened teenagers- they're not going to think logically when they're being hunted for sport. They're going to follow the safest route of their continued survival, which in this case is remaining together as a tight knit group and waiting to be rescued from the island.
I, personally, think the plot of the AU makes a lot of sense when you consider the above factors. And, of course, because it's a Horror AU- you'd need to suspend a lot of the cartoon logic to make it somewhat believable, which includes the fact that Gwen canonically 'takes down' the real killer by insulting him. That kind of stuff wouldn't fit the tone of the IotS AU.
Not that I'm saying you have to like it. You're entitled to your opinion! This is just how I understand the AU.

Have we been overlooking the Key to Snake's survival
Spoilers for Recent Chapters of Kuroshitsuji.
So for those who have been reading, I hope this makes sense as I think it's an important factor in this arc. While I know everyone is wondering what is going to happen to Snake, I've noticed that there isn't much discussion about a few players that usually show up when someone dies and the rules the manga has for telegraphing a death.
(I should note that this tends to pertain to important characters usually, and not one offs like Mina and her husband, as I don't recall seeing a Grim Reaper in that arc at all.
During the first arc of Black Butler we met Grelle, who was hanging out with Madam Red. As noted, she was dressed as a normal human butler rather than her usual amazing self.
Tumblr media
It wasn't long after that we got her true reveal and Aunt Anne wasn't with us.
We then get the Reapers showing up, namely William, in the circus arc early on as Specs (If I recall correctly).
Tumblr media
William hangs around as a hint that death will be coming since he practically tells Sebastian this. Thus we see him reviewing Joker's records at the top of the burning mansion. Signaling that he's collecting the other members as well at some point or did so already. (Since Reapers can be just about anywhere.)
During the Murder arc, we don't have any reaper (sans the former one in the form of Undertaker at the end) and since we know Sebastian is a demon, we can safely assume that the normal mortal way of killing him is out. So no reapers, no deaths for important or known characters.
In the Campania arc (Luxury Liner arc) Ronald runs up and we get him saying hello with his outfit given we're shown his eyes and his suit.
Tumblr media
So, again, we know for sure that someone is going to die, or at least there's going to be deaths happening. We also get Grelle back, and Will at the end, it's important to note that the trio do play a big role in giving us lore in this case along with collecting the souls of the dead, more importantly one of the bigger players in the arc, Ryan Stoker. (As with Baron Kelvin, both men have ties to Ciel through their connections. Stoker via Undertaker, and Kelvin to his past within their circles.)
In the Public School arc (Weston) we don't have a reaper at all, (other than Undertaker) and, once again, no death of players occur (as with Mina, and the Banker, the Queen's nephew is a lesser character). So we see the pattern continuing.
Emerald witch sees William and Grelle in Germany with our two German Reapers (Ruger and Sasha), and we have the deaths of several important villains.
Following this we have the Blue Cult, and yet again, no Reaper to be found in the music hall aspect of the Arc. But Grelle and Othello show up following this portion of the arc, and what does Grelle say to Sebastian and Ciel when they meet after finding the dead nobles. She'll see them again soon.
Tumblr media
Not long after, Agni dies.
There is no Reaper during the time Ciel is on the run and by Lau's, and there is none during Mei-Rin and Ran-Mao's arc. It's only when we get to Baldroy's arc that we get Ronald once again.
Tumblr media
And that leaves us with a twist that Sebastian saves Baldroy's life, along with Lau giving him his blood to save him. Ronald and will then confine Layla/Al, and we're left to wonder what this means in regard to the other arcs.
What have we learned so far, that nearly every time a Reaper shows up some form of death happens. That when a death may occur for an important character a Reaper will show up. So far this has not been broken, save Baldroy's story.
Most are thinking, we'll she's going to twist it. Snake will die because even though we don't see a reaper, that's a really bad cut, and we're getting a flashback.
However I propose that Snake has more of a part to play in this story. He mentions that he and the snakes are from an unknown, far away place. We also have hints of him being in an orphanage. We know from Finny that there were children being experimented upon, and part of the whole arc seems to be showing how similar Snake and Finny are. So I don't believe he's going to die, and I suspect the reason why is due to how influenced this is by Promised Neverland.
In the story there is a character known as Sister Krone, who helps the children out, but for selfish reasons.
Tumblr media
In the end, while she does somewhat help the children, she pretty much betrays them for her own safety, though it does her little good in the end.
However, I want to present a character that I think is a call back to Sister Krone, and she has no name as of yet for some reason.
Tumblr media
Our Maid on the Right Lower corner has no name, yet is shown to be someone who plays a part in things. She's always around so we see her a lot even though, unlike Susan or (was it Jamie?) the other younger maid, she has no name. Why is that? Why be so prominent yet not have a name? It's an odd thing, and normally a character like her would have some name at this point, why is hers being kept secret it seems.
She's also been shown to be the most nervous about everything. Even in her first appearance she's being shown to be quiet and later when Doll insists, she has a more worried look about things.
She's the one that dropped the plate, and thus again given prominence above the other characters, and, to be blunt, she's one of the few POC characters shown in this place, and I think the only maid here.
What's got my suspicions up is that People keep saying "There's no Ada to save Snake" and yet, we see three maids go down to the lab. Three of them, meaning that all three know how that stuff works.
Tumblr media
Susan, the one in the front, Jamie (the girl with the curly hair) and our last unknown maid, who, unlike the other two -who are all business, is looking upset, nervous, and other unknown emotions. She's clearly not a fan of this, and doesn't like this at all, as shown in their entry in Chapter 203.
Come Chapter 204 we get these two exchanges with her.
Tumblr media
She questions things, and note her stance. While the other two are, again, all business like, she looks honestly unhappy and uneasy.
Body language reads as:
Upturned brows = can indicate anxiety or worry.
Down turned eyes = indicate feeling uncertain or Guilty.
Hands in the folded position = can indicate being less confident, unsure, insecure, and nervous.
All together it shows that this maid is questioning her role in this, and, as we see with her questions, her slight hesitation, it's clear that she's not sure about what they're doing, and, more than likely, feeling guilty over it.
Tumblr media
We see the same reaction from her again when the other maid gives her the dress Ginny was wearing when she was fledged. So it becomes blatantly obvious that we're supposed to pay attention to this woman who is feeling guilty.
We don't see her leaving but we have to assume that she did due to the fact that she's not there during the confrontation.
Which brings us to the big point of who they're hearing.
The kids and Finny are running away from the sounds, but, more than likely the one that's going to run into them is going to be this maid.
So why do I think it's likely going to be this maid that the kids and Finny are hearing.
We Don't see her leaving, but we know she was there with Susan and the other dead maid.
We can assume since she went down with them that she knew about the tunnel and what was going on with Doll, since Susan mentioned bringing out the Radiance in front of her.
Since neither women came back, she's the most likely to go down to see what is going on.
Given that she knows what they are doing she knows how to work the machines, and would have to know how to help. It's also clear from earlier that she was close enough to Susan to go with her down to the area where they kept the children.
Which brings us back to the situation in promised Neverland. In the story Kone gave information to the children, but as I said, betrayed them. If Yana-sensei is using the idea, given all the implications with the story there's something there, from the early arc (Jailbreak I think?) of PN, then it's possible that, unlike the original story, this maid will actually help Snake and the kids.
Given her reactions and her expressions, she's harboring guilt. Finny wanted to stay and help but had to leave. More than likely it's not beyond belief that this maid will run into them on their way out, and, probably use Finnian's blood, or one of the kids blood to save Snake.
Now why would she do that over taking the kids away?
Simplest answer, Finny asks her too and her desire to save a life, over taking one, would probably lead her to do the right thing in this case.
Why Finny's blood?
According to Celtic Legends Finnian, the mythic character, was given the gift of healing from the salmon of Knowledge. When he gathered water into his hands, and one drank from this the person will be healed.
We know that Finny is an experiment, and, given that the scientist shot his siblings/fellow experiments in the head rather than the chest or other body parts to kill them, indicated that the experiments healed. We also see this in the fight with Jumbo that Finny survives Jumbo's hit, and it's good by the next day.
So my theory is that the maid will meet the kids, give aid to Snake, and then likely take the kids away.
To be honest, The one I think has the death mark on him is either Tanaka, or Real Ciel again. Yana did state that Ciel will not make it to his 14th birthday. But O!Ciel is NOT Ciel, and never was. So the Ciel she's probably talking about is R!Ciel.
I know this isn't perfect, but it seems the most likely over Snake being turned into a Bizarre Doll, or outright dying.
The other option is that there are some snakes that can heal their own wounds, or he could shed his skin and heal himself that way.

The thing is, I think Kazui's depiction of himself in Cat as a monstrous murderer is exaggerated by his self-loathing, but I also think it was probably a very abrasive conversation when he came out to Hinako. (tbh I actually kind of think he didn't intend to come out to her, and it just kinda happened in the heat of the moment*? But I don't have concrete evidence of this theory beyond his inability to talk about what's going on with him without several layers of indirect inferences + begging Es to claw past his lies/free him from them, and his overwhelming shame at the immutable truth about himself that he's hiding.)
*That said, his distorted line for T1 is "I'm such an idiot, why did I have to dream?" so that could imply he told the truth (dreamed of being accepted as his true self?) of his own volition
I interpreted the sequence of events in his MVs as him asking for a divorce without actually telling her why, which leads to her trying to save their marriage:

Coupled with the lyrics in half, I think at this point Hinako doesn't know Kazui's truth, so she's trying to comfort him without knowing what the underlying issue is. She is depicted as supportive in half, so I think she might be saying stuff like "tell me what's bothering you honey; we can fix this together as husband and wife, I'll always love you" without knowing that it's actually NOT something that could be 'fixed' despite Kazui's efforts all these years. The apple (a symbol of Kazui being someone/wanting something "outside of the norm"**) is in the spotlight because it's the looming specter in this conversation that Kazui cannot escape from—he's asking for a divorce because he's a green apple (or desires a green apple) instead of a red apple; it's the underlying cause of why they're having this conversation in the first place, even if Hinako isn't aware of it yet.
**while green apples certainly exist, most people think of red apples as the default
If Hinako tried to console her husband without understanding the root of his turmoil, imo it's not unlikely that she might've inadvertently said something that set Kazui off. She either said something that he perceived as naively optimistic/innocently cruel in her attempts at consolation (e.g. "whatever it is, we can fix it together as loving husband and wife"), or something that made him feel even guiltier (e.g. "I'm not doing enough to share your burdens, I'm sorry" or "I'll always love you")—most likely both. At this point Kazui had been lying for the vast majority of his life; he is excruciatingly aware that he cannot change his nature, even though he's ashamed of it and desperately wished he could change and "be normal". The fact that he's asking for a divorce now despite the aforementioned factors means he's been pushed to a point that he cannot abide by maintaining the lie anymore. So Hinako's empty reassurances would be aggravating, because it's something Kazui already KNOWS he cannot change, and they cannot overcome his sexuality (that he already hates himself for) "as husband and wife."
Hence lashing out, both to be self-destructive (he's so torn up about being "not normal" that he hates himself for it and feels like he's a villain) and also to express his frustration at the situation/at her. "Oh, you said you'll always love me no matter what? Well guess what, I never actually loved you! You said we can 'fix' this as 'husband and wife'? I tried to 'fix' myself for YEARS and I still can't make myself love you; in fact, I'm in so much pain being in this farce of a marriage and playing the role of a Good Husband for you that I need to leave. I am not attracted to you—never had been, never will be—so spare me the empty platitudes of us 'overcoming this as a couple' when you don't know ANYTHING about how I feel" etc.

The combined shock of 1) the ideal husband she loves had been lying the entire time during their courtship and marriage, 2) the ideal husband she loves seemingly*** being so hurt by her love and so contemptuously dismissive of the life they have together, and 3) that she's oblivious to all of this even though she thought she knew him better than anyone would've been devastating. And they might very well have been drinking (in celebration???) before this conversation, since they had the same clothes they wore in the champagne scene (though I think it's also possible that these are just their 'default' domestic clothing). If they had been drinking and/or celebrating beforehand, it's plausible that impulsive decisions that would've never been made sober were acted upon—Hinako might not have committed suicide**** (i think it was very spontaneous/not premeditated), and maybe Kazui wouldn't have came out (or would've been more in control of his emotions and/or circumstances when doing so).
***only seemingly, because we do see that he cares about her, just not as a romantic partner
****heavily implied that's how she died, though there is speculation that it was an accident, or that Kazui had pushed her (I personally don't find the pushing theory convincing/plausible with the evidence we have so far)
