#and I feel like ever since I haven’t been really their daughter…. I’ve just been living on the outside looking in to everything

Unfortunately relatable. I grew up in the church and have a lot of Christian trauma from that. I show up for special occasions for my parents… sometimes. But it’s uncomfortable from the moment I step through the door. Bigoted pastor, the self-righteousness disguising the prejudice, the political comments from the altar. Shots at young people left right and center as if the hell on earth wasn’t caused by the same older generation 90% of the congregation belongs to..
I miss being young in the choir and the youth groups and not struggling with it. It’s wild to look back at the younger version of me who was unshakeable in his faith and honestly just saddening.
I was texting my sister today about it and she said
“I 100% think ALL of us have a ton of religious trauma and everyone else in the family just doesn’t realize it cause they’re still drinking the kool-aid.”
I ran out of tag room and didn’t want to delete any 😭 seriously not lying I could write a book about all my thoughts and experiences
#I relate to all of this so much#and it’s so sad how many people truly have religious trauma#I still find myself lucky and privileged cause I know there are stories MUCH worse than mine#it’s really hard cause my parents still think I’m a Christian#honestly at this point I have no clue what i am#even if I end up still being a Christian that doesn’t help or heal all of the years of church trauma#but the hard part is still acting the part for my parents#growing up I always tried to fit into the good Christian girl mold#cause I know that’s what my parents wanted and I didn’t want to disappoint them#but once I started smoking weed and they found out? it went all downhill from there#their perfect angel fell from heaven#and I feel like ever since I haven’t been really their daughter…. I’ve just been living on the outside looking in to everything#it hurts looking back at all the years I spent brainwashed into believing that was the ONLY faith#it genuinely makes me sick to my stomach thinking about the fact that I went to a pro life rally#the thing I was talking to my sister about was how mental health was never talked about in the church#when I started dealing with it and went to my parents or the pastors or any adult really and told them what I was dealing with#wanna know what the first thing they would ALWAYS say? well have you prayed about it? the way they treated mental illness was that it was#YOUR fault cause God is punishing you for something…. that you need to pray or go to church so then God will eventually take it away#and the thing is I don’t necessarily blame my parents (which kinda sucks cause I want to blame someone)#but honestly it’s just the environment they grew up in too… like I’m 99% sure my dad has dealt with depression his entire life#but won’t get diagnosed or anything cause they always believe faith has something to do with it#which makes me incredibly sad cause I just think about how much my dad has suffered and how he didn’t need to#^^ I was typing this out when I was late to my family gathering hahaha but then I think my sister called or something so I had to stop#sorry this post is all over the place - I swear I could write a book about religious trauma#yesterday went ok surprisingly but today? TODAY is going to be so much worse#sure I’ll make a post about it later but I guessssss I should go to bed now? it’s 2am and I have to get up at 5:45 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃#and I have a fuuuuull day of fun Christian festivities while I’m dealing with all of this bottled up and unresolved crap from my past#please don’t get me wrong I love my parents and like I said I don’t blame them - they did their best#it just really sucks wondering what my life would have been like if I didn’t grow up in the church or in a super religious family#I wonder if when I told my parents I was depressed if they would have instantly brought me in to get help

September, 2020
Joel had known things would get bad.
But he hadn’t expected for them to get this fucking bad.
He glanced across the table at Tess, quietly asking, “She eat today?”
Tess let out a small sigh, shaking her head. “Nope.” She picked up her chipped, ceramic mug and took a sip of crappy, two decades old dark roast coffee and stated, “She didn’t eat anything yesterday, either. Or the day before that or the one before that. I can barely get her to take a fucking sip of water these days.”
“Fuckin’ hell, Tess! We can’t just sit around watchin’ her starve herself,” he hissed at her, his hands curling into fists on the table.
She shot him an irritated look. “You think I don’t know that already?”
“Tess—”
“What are we going to do, Joel? Pin her down and force feed her?”
Joel’s jaw clenched, his lips pressing together in a tight, thin line. He glanced over at you with a heavy, sinking feeling inside of his chest at the mere sight of your current state.
You were sitting on the bed in the same pair of gray sweatpants you’d been wearing for the last couple of days, your knees pulled up to your chest as you stared blankly, vacantly, out of the window beside you at absolutely nothing. You were beginning to appear frail—the current tone of your skin was so dull, so washed out that anybody who took one glance at you would probably think that you had spent your entire life locked away in some basement, never having seen the fucking sunshine before. The pallor of your skin was only emphasized by the dark, bruise-like circles underneath your eyes, courtesy of the long and sleepless nights you’d been having, especially lately.
You had fallen deep into a sadness, a darkness—one so deep that you had become nothing but a mere shadow of your former self. You were an empty shell of a human being and it was starting to scare the fucking shit out of Joel.
“Maybe if we took her to see the baby?” Tess suggested, quietly. She took another sip of her coffee and then set her mug down. “Frank has been wondering why you two haven’t been over there to see her. Hell, even Bill is curious why I’ve been going over there alone.” After having done some digging around, Tess managed to find someone in the QZ who had helped her get her hands on homemade infant formula; it was worth gold and only ever went to officials of a higher ranking who could actually afford it. Somehow, she’d pulled a few strings and the next thing Joel knew, Tess was loading a pack full of cans to take over to Lincoln. She’d made a couple more trips since then, and each time, she had gone alone. “It’s been over three months, Joel. Maybe it’s finally time—maybe it would help her.”
“In her condition?” Joel shook his head, adamantly. “No. For one, she wouldn’t fuckin’ make it a mile down the road before collapsing—from exhaustion, from starvation, you name it. And even if she could make the trip somehow, the truth is, she’s not ready to see her.” He lowered his voice to keep you from overhearing him, although at this point, he was certain that you were too zoned out to even pay attention. Every word was probably going in through one ear and out the other. “I hate to say it, but she’s just not strong enough to see her yet, Tess.”
“And what about you, Texas? What’s your excuse?”
He glared at her. “You really think I can leave her here alone in a state like this while we go skippin’ off to Lincoln together?”
“Good point.” Tess paused and peered curiously at him. “You haven’t even told her what they named her, have you?”
“Don’t think that’s such a good idea right now, either.” Joel held back a heavy sigh as he looked down into his own mug of shitty coffee. A huge part of him wished that she hadn’t told him what Bill and Frank ended up naming the baby. Since then, his daughter’s name echoed in the back of his mind, over and over again, damn near constantly.
“Joel, if we don’t do something, she’s going to wind up—” Tess could see his jaw clench again and she stopped herself, choosing her words more carefully. “She’s walking on thin ice. She’s not eating, she’s not sleeping. She’s already been in lockup twice this week alone because she can’t even keep up with work detail anymore. I know this is hard for you to hear, but if something doesn’t change soon, things are only going to get worse from here—she’ll get worse. You’re the only one of the two of us who actually has a chance of getting through to her and you need to fucking do something.”
“Tess, I’ve tried—”
“Well fucking try harder, Joel. If you don’t, you’ll fucking lose her. You know that, right?”
“I know.” Joel rubbed his face tiredly with both of his hands. He knew it was nothing but the truth that she was speaking, but goddamn the truth fell onto his shoulders heavy, almost too heavy. It felt as though he were carrying the weight of the entire fucking planet. But she was right. If something wasn’t done, he was going to lose you. “Tess, you mind if I have a minute alone with her?”
She nodded and took one last gulp of coffee before standing up from the table. “Yeah. I have to go see Robert and a couple of his buffoons about something anyway.” As she walked past him towards the door, she stopped and tossed him a pointed look. “Maybe today is the day that you finally decide to give her that thing that you’ve been carrying around in your pocket,” she suggested. “We went through a lot of shit for it, Joel. It’s the reason we have been drinking crappier coffee than usual for the last two weeks.”
He nodded, watching her as she grabbed her jacket and left.
After a minute or two, Joel finally pushed himself away from the table and rose to his feet. He made his way over to you, and he wasn’t even the slightest bit surprised at how you didn’t turn to acknowledge him despite the sound of his heavy boots on the creaking hardwood floor. He said your name as he came closer to you, but you remained as still as a stone statue, your eyes still fixed outside of the window.
“Alright,” he said, standing next to you at the side of the bed, both of his hands placed firmly on his hips. “Enough is fuckin’ enough. I can’t and I won’t let you keep carryin’ on like this. Either you get up and get your ass over to that table and eat somethin’ or I’m going to pick you up off of this bed, take you over there, and feed you myself. And don’t think I won’t. I’ll tie you down to the chair if that’s what I’ve gotta do.”
Finally, you turned to look at him. You spoke, your voice sounding just as fragile as you looked. “I’m not hungry.”
Joel’s expression immediately softened.
Fuck.
He couldn’t be tough on you, not in the state you were in—he thought being hard on you would be the way to get through to you, but he just didn’t have it in him to be stern with you, not when you were like this.
“Baby. Please.” He knelt down beside you, reaching for your hand. He winced at how frigid your hand felt in his palm, as if he were holding a block of ice. He brought his other hand up and placed it on top, doing his best to warm it up with both of his. “Look, I get it. I know that you miss her. I know that you’re hurtin’ over her. You might not think I get it, but I do.” He paused, feeling sick to his stomach upon noticing the lifelessness in your eyes. He almost wished that he could see you cry, because at least he would know for certain that you were still in there somewhere—but Joel hadn’t seen you shed a single tear since you’d broken down sobbing in his arms that night in Lincoln. “You just can’t keep goin’ on like this. You don’t eat, you’ve barely slept in weeks. You keep fallin’ behind with all your work assignments and you’ve landed yourself in lockup more times than I can fuckin’ count because of it.”
You simply shrugged, as if you couldn’t give two shits about any of it.
Joel managed to bite back his sigh of frustration. He knew that losing his temper would do nothing more than sink you further into the hole you were currently in. But he was angry. He was just so fucking angry about about everything. Here you were, just slipping right through his fucking fingers, slowly fading away right before his own two eyes and he didn’t know what to do to stop it from happening. He felt lost. He felt hopeless—useless.
He squeezed your hand out of desperation. He would fucking plead if he had to. “I need you to fuckin’ snap out of it. Please,” he begged, as he continued holding your hand tightly, holding onto it as if he were holding onto dear life itself. “Please, for the love of fuckin’ god, I need you to just snap out of it. If not for yourself, fuckin’ do it for me—do it for her.”
“Snap out of it?” You repeated. “You want me to just snap out of it?”
“Baby, please just listen to me for one goddamn second—”
You snatched your hand out of both of his. “I can’t just fucking snap out of it, Joel!” You nearly shouted at him, speaking the loudest he’d heard you speak in several weeks. “Alright? I can’t snap out of it! My heart is shattered into pieces, don’t you fucking understand that?”
“‘Course I do. Givin’ her up was hard for me too,” he reminded you quietly, resisting the urge to match your tone.
“And I don’t deny that,” You prefaced yourself. “I know it was hard on you too, Joel. But you’re not the one who came this close, this damn fucking close to aborting her.” You held up your index finger and your thumb close together. You’d started trembling as everything seemed to catch up to you all at once—sleep deprivation, malnourishment and of course, the emotions you had been bottling up inside of you for the last three months. “You’re not the one who carried her inside of your womb for almost nine months, who felt every one of her flutters and her kicks. You’re not the one who had to go through the excruciating pain of giving birth to her in this crumbling apartment, only to have to place her in someone else’s arms and leave her behind three days later. You’re not the one who had to deal with the aftermath, Joel. Do you know how much it fucking hurt not to be able to feed her? How much it fucking sucked to have to wait for your milk supply to dry up because you no longer had a baby to feed?”
For the first time in a long time, Joel was left speechless.
He didn’t know what to say. Hell, there was nothing he could say.
Because you were absolutely fucking right.
None of what you’d just said to him was a lie. Of course he knew that giving the baby up had been a hundred times harder on you than it’d been on him—mentally, emotionally, and even physically. He thought back to the nights when he would see you sitting there with your own arms wrapped around your chest, knowing you were aching, knowing that although you said nothing about it, you were in unbearable pain from being unable to breastfeed.
And what could he do about it?
Not a goddamn fucking thing.
Still, Joel had tried. He always made the attempt to comfort you, only to be shot down time and time again. He’d been so used to being the one who rejected any kind of support that, when the tables had been turned on him, he hadn’t known how to handle it. Joel could feel the guilt slowly creeping in as he wondered if perhaps he just hadn’t tried hard enough for you. He was your partner—it was his duty to take care of you, to look out for you, to protect you, and yet here he was, failing to do any of that.
He could have done more.
He should have done more.
Especially after all the friction he’d caused from the beginning of your pregnancy. From letting you go to those crooked motherfuckers for a procedure that could have cost you your life, down to the way he had treated you the night you’d brought up Sarah, it seemed as though all Joel had been doing was fucking up, time after time.
Seeing the expression on Joel’s face, you immediately knew what he must have been thinking. Your eyes widened and you quickly uttered a nearly breathless apology. “Joel, I’m so fucking sorry—”
He stopped you, tightly shaking his head. “No, don’t be. It’s true, it’s all fuckin’ true.”
Finally, after three months of bone-dry eyes, a warm tear slipped out, falling down the side of your face. Your entire body shuddered as the flood gates opened and more followed in suit, each one falling faster, harder than the last. The next thing you knew, Joel had pulled himself up onto the mattress beside you, pulling you into his arms just as you had started sobbing. With one hand, he delicately cradled the back of your head as you cried and cried into his shoulder. The other rubbed a soothing circle into your back over and over again.
And just like that night in Lincoln, Joel just held you, waiting patiently as you finally allowed yourself to release each and every single one of your emotions out into the open. He didn’t say a word to you, nor did he attempt to stop the tears—he just held you close, merely using his touch to silently let you know that he would wait as long as he had to until you were finished.
“Joel,” You sniffed his name, your hands clutching fistfuls of his shirt.
“I’m right here, baby,” he assured you, holding you even closer against him, as close as humanly possible. His heartbeat was right in your ear and you closed your eyes, listening to it and letting it calm you. “I told you I wasn’t gonna let you carry this pain alone, darlin’. You remember that?”
You nodded against his chest, whispering, “I remember.”
“Well then, you’ve gotta let me help you,” Joel said into your hair. “For three months, I’ve been tryin’ but you just keep pushin’ me away. It doesn’t work like that. I need you to lean on me. I need for you to let me back in and help you because the road you’re headin’ down right now is a dangerous one.”
Opening your eyes, you pulled away from him slightly, just far enough to meet his worried gaze. You could see the absolute fucking hell that you had been putting him through and felt your heart clench painfully inside of your chest. “I know I can’t keep going on like this, Joel,” You admitted softly to him. “Believe me, I know that. I tried so hard to get a fucking grip. There have been so many days where I think to myself, today is the day that I’m going to get my shit together. But then I just think of her sweet and innocent little face and I just fall apart all over again.” You muffled another sob with the palm of your hand.
“Oh, baby.” He gave your body a gentle, but firm squeeze. If he could take your pain away, all of it, and carry it along with his own, he would do it in a fucking heartbeat.
You swallowed harshly. “I know she is far better off where she is, Joel, I know that she is. I never want her falling into the hands of FEDRA. It kills me to think of her being here in this shitty fucking place, going to their shitty fucking school.” Your voice broke at the mere thought of it all. “We know what would happen, Joel. As soon as she comes of age and meets their requirement, they will put her through their recruiting program. After her training, they either deem her worthy of becoming a fucking ruthless officer or they will give her the shittiest civilian jobs making her work for scraps of nothing, the same way they do to us.”
Joel sighed, rubbing your back again. “I know, baby. I know. It’s why we did what we did. We did what we had to do to spare her from that shit.”
“But then there’s this selfish part of me that wants her back so badly, so fucking badly that it makes me fucking ache,” You confessed, guilt lacing your tone of voice. “I just want the hurt to stop. I want to be at peace with the decision that we made, but the way I miss her, it feels almost impossible. I feel like I’ll never be able to accept that this is the way things have to be.”
“You have to accept it—we have to accept it. We ain’t got a choice,” Joel spoke the truth to you as gently as he could, though he knew it wouldn’t make a difference.
“I know,” You whispered, your eyes glazing over with fresh tears.
He stared at you for a moment and then pressed his lips against your forehead. Deciding it was time to show you what he’d been keeping a secret from you, Joel reached into the pocket of his jeans, pulling out a small, crumpled up wad of brown tissue paper. With one of his arms still around you, he used both of his hands to unwrap the tissue paper only to reveal a delicate silver chain—a bit too old to be shiny, but still in good shape nonetheless. Joel picked it up and tossed the tissue off to the side. He held it up in front of you to give you a better look at it.
A single white pearl hung from the chain.
“Joel, where did you get this?” You gasped lightly, taking it from him with trembling fingers. You didn’t even want to know what the hell he must have had to do or trade for it. Sure, jewelry was one of the most useless items that anyone could possess in this world because it no longer had any monetary value, but if someone wanted something bad enough and another person had it, then advantage was going to be taken somewhere, somehow.
“Don’t you worry ‘bout that, darlin’.”
You glanced up at him, an incredulous look in your eyes. “Joel.”
He almost chuckled, knowing you wouldn't let him off that easy. “I’d mentioned to Tess that I wanted to get you somethin’ special to carry around with you, somethin’ that would remind you of her. Tess said a pearl was the birthstone for June, and so I asked her to help me find one a few weeks ago. She found some guy and I cut a deal for it. But that’s all I’m tellin’ you.”
Joel took the necklace from you and beckoned for you to turn around for him. Moving your hair aside, he reached around you and clasped it at the back of your neck. “I’d rather only you wear it when you’re here in the apartment. Once you go outside, it stays hidden in your pocket so no one sees it, alright?”
You turned back around to face him. “I don’t even know what to say. I can’t believe you did this for me, Joel.” You reached for his hands and held them tightly in your own as you shot him a sincere, grateful look. “Thank you.”
He leaned forward, lightly brushing his mouth against yours. “Baby?”
“Yes?” You murmured against his lips.
Joel squeezed your hands, hesitating for a moment before he said, “I know I’ve only ever said it to you once—that night. Outside of Bill and Frank’s place. But I need you to know that I love you. The truth is, I’ve been lovin’ you for a long time now. Never had it in me to admit it, not even to myself.” His eyes met yours in such a tender way that you felt a part of your broken heart begin to heal itself. It was just a small part, and you knew that unless you had your daughter back, it would never mend itself completely. Still, it was enough to give you a sense of hope. It was just enough to remind you that you would be able to find the strength in you to survive this pain. If you had any reason to keep going, it was right there it front of you. It was Joel. “I love you. I’m gonna do everythin’ that I can to help you through this. All you’ve gotta do is lean on me, alright?”
“I love you, Joel.” Though you’d said it to him once before, it still felt a bit foreign to say out loud.
It felt right, though. And it felt right hearing him say it to you.
Reaching up, you lightly clasped the pearl in your hand. You leaned into Joel’s chest and felt him wrap his arms around you.
“Y’know,” Joel said, breaking the momentary silence that had fallen over you, “Tess said Frank’s been wondering why we haven’t been over to see her yet. I know it might still be a bit too soon for you, but—” He let his sentence trail.
Though he didn’t say it out loud, you could hear it in his voice.
He wanted to see the baby.
“I’m not ready for that just yet,” You admitted. “I want to see her more than anything, but look at me. I’m a fucking mess.” You paused, clutching onto the pearl a little tighter. “Maybe we can try in a few weeks? What do you think?”
Joel kissed the top of your head. “Soon as you’re ready, say the word and we’ll go.”

To Care For A Woman
Chapter 4
Simon Riley x Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: You join the army as a last-ditch effort to avoid destitution, but when you sustain an injury protecting Lieutenant Ghost and earn yourself a medical discharge, you're stuck all over again. Or maybe not...
Warnings: Tension, Simon wants to care for you, small reader, a little bit spicy but not NSFW, man worrying about a woman's safety, typical cannon violence, deception, I'm sorry it's unedited...
Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4
Chapter 5 Chapter 6 Chapter 7 Chapter 8
You were beginning to feel like Simon was hiding something. When he went out on missions he was insistent that you didn’t contact him. At all.
You never once wondered if there was another woman involved, Simon was too good to you for it to be that.
He was just so closed off when it came to the topic of work, and you weren’t sure why. Maybe he was battling PTSD, and trying not to let it color your relationship.
It had been six months since you had married Simon, two of which he’d spent deployed somewhere. Your parents had asked if you were coming home for the holidays, and you told them you would be working.
They still believed you had a job. In a way you did. When Simon wasn’t home you did light house chores, now that Dr. Radcliffe had cleared you for more movement.
Your leg was still weak, and running was out of the question. You’d begged Simon to let you get a dog but he’d bit his lip, given you a pained look, and explained that it wasn’t fair to the animal if you couldn’t care for it properly.
You’d nodded in agreement but it had hurt all the same. You were lonely when he was gone.
“So what are we doing for the holidays?” You asked as Simon washed the dinner dishes and handed them to you to be put away.
He shrugged as he scrubbed pasta sauce off one of the plates. “Haven’t celebrated in a while,” he admitted, handing you the next clean dish.
“Do you ever visit your family?” You asked.
“Have you ever been to Cambridge?” He went about scrubbing the cup your tea was in.
“I’ve never been to the UK, just the parts of Europe the 141 has taken me. Is that where you’re from?” You asked in excitement.
“No, I grew up in Manchester,” he said, passing you the cup.
“Is your family in Cambridge now?” You asked, feeling as if the conversation had gotten slightly off topic.
“No.”
You blinked in confusion. “Wouldn’t it make more sense to spend the holidays in Manchester with your family?”
“It doesn’t have to be Cambridge, London is nice too,” he added, drying his hands on the spare dish towel. “We’ve got a few weeks to decide anyhow.” He gave you a quick kiss on the forehead before disappearing into the bathroom.
You gaped slightly, blinking in confusion. What just happened? Had he really just swept your questions about his family under the rug with the distraction of a holiday vacation?
Maybe it was only fair. You’d made no effort to introduce Simon to your parents, but that was different. You were a daughter, not a son. If your parents found out their little baby girl had been injured, and married off to some strange man, your father would blow a fuse.
You knew very little about Simon though. The only thing you knew about him was his strange relationship with Ghost. Why was someone as sweet as Simon even mates with someone like Ghost?
~
Simon had started taking you into town once a week. He didn’t like to keep you cooped up, and Dr. Radcliffe had warned him you’d end up in trauma therapy if he kept you isolated during recovery.
Simon was relieved you didn’t display much interest in going to the mall. You were perfectly happy to go to the park and pet dogs, or go to the bookstore for hours on end.
You were begging to accumulate a small library, and sooner or later he’d need to build you a bookshelf.
“Out for the weekly book haul I see,” Jesse, the store owner said as you approached her counter, most of your books in Simon’s arms. You grinned at her as she scanned your latest finds. “You’re practically keeping me in business at this point.”
You shrugged and gave Jesse a bright smile. “You had new stuff in the gardening section, thought it might be helpful for the herbs we just planted,” you said, flashing Simon a grin.
He didn’t give you much of a reaction, but that was normal when he was in public. He wasn’t exactly fond of strangers, but he tolerated Jesse for the free cups of tea she bestowed on the two of you when you sat down to read in her cafe.
She’d never asked for the details of your relationship with Simon, but she always chuckled softly when he handed over his debit card without so much as a grumble for your somewhat expensive taste in books. A man that supported his partner's love of books was a good man in her opinion.
Jesse placed your books in a bag and handed them to Simon with a smile, unbothered by his flat expression and aversion to talking more than what was necessary.
“Have you decided where you want to go for Christmas yet?” He asked as he helped you load into his truck.
“Maybe we should stay home this year. I was just thinking it’d be harder to travel with my leg, and you already don’t like crowds, I can’t imagine how busy London must be this time of year…” you trailed off as Simon buckled into the driver’s seat. “But I would like to put up a tree!” You added.
Simon raised a brow at you as if he were amused by your declaration. “A tree?”
“Yeah! A Christmas tree! And we could have some of your teammates over-“
“They’ll be with their families,” he stated quickly.
Your smile fell. Oh. Right. “Maybe just the Captain then?”
Simon bit his lip but nodded. Price was aware of the situation, and the least likely to spill the beans. He supposed inviting his Captain over for a holiday meal would be alright.
“Speaking of family,” you began carefully, “Can we stop by the post office next week? I’d like to ship my parents' Christmas presents,” you requested softly.
Simon glanced at you out of the corner of his eye. “Would you like to see your family?” He asked, and you shook your head.
“No, I…” you trailed off, unsure of what to say.
“You haven’t told them.” It wasn’t a question. He’d heard your phone calls with them. They still thought you were working for Price.
“It’s…it’s not that I don’t want you to meet them. It’s just that I don’t want them to worry, and I know that they will.” Simon nodded, grasping your hand gently in his. “I’ll figure something out…eventually.”
“I have to go for a mission next week, but I’ll be back before Thanksgiving. We can put up the tree when I get back. I’ll…leave the truck with you, you can make it to town on your own?” He asked.
Your eyes widened in surprise. You hadn’t expected him to even offer, but now that you thought about it, it was a little ridiculous to expect you to stay put while he was gone. It was your left leg that was injured after all, you could still drive.
“Yeah, I know the way. Thanks, Simon,” you said, offering him a brilliant smile.
“Just be careful,” he reminded you. He’d leave a pistol with you just in case. The holidays were always more dangerous. He was starting to regret not getting you that dog. He would have to look into putting up a fence, but that was a long term project that he’d need a longer break from work to accomplish. Like hell he was gonna pay some stranger to come out to his home where his wife was to do the job.
Once the truck was parked and your books were unloaded, Simon went about doing his chores while you made lunch. At some point you heard the buzz of his saw outside. He seemed to always have some sort of project going.
You couldn’t stop thinking about the other night as you went about piling chicken salad on two croissants. Why was he so closed off concerning his family?
You eyed you bedroom door, wondering if you should just leave it alone, or put your detective skills to work.
You left your plates on the counter as you slipped into your bedroom. Simon didn’t keep many personal items, therefore your nightstand was always a little more cluttered than his between your laptop, medications, and other odds and ends.
You weren’t exactly sure what you were looking for. All you really knew about Simon was his name and that he’d grown up in Manchester. Your search would likely yield little result.
At least that was what you thought until you were starting at a death record. A death record for Simon Riley, bearing the same date of birth and identification information that was on your marriage certificate.
“Y/n?” You jumped, your head shooting up to see Simon in his sweaty work clothes standing in the doorway. “Gonna hop through the shower before lunch…everything alright?” He asked, noticing how pale you’d gone.
“I…um, yeah, yeah I’m fine.” You sputtered, closing your laptop screen. “I’ll go finish lunch,” you said, limping back into the kitchen.
Simon watched you, his head cocked to the side, before he shrugged, and stripped down to get a shower.
You tried to ignore the knots forming in your gut. Simon Riley was dead, and you had no unearthly clue who this man was. Did Ghost know? Had he unwittingly sent you right into the arms of someone dangerous, or was Ghost well aware of who Simon really was?
Your hands shook as you went about finishing the lunch preparations, and you quietly set the table, hyper aware of the other person in the house.
Simon was still in the shower, you had time to go back for your laptop. You quickly made your way into the bedroom, lifting the screen as you sat on the bed.
Your eyes scanned over the obituary with concern. Simon Riley…served in the royal army…died in a fire…no body…wait…no body?
You scrolled down a bit until you got to the photo at the bottom of the page. It was your Simon. You felt your throat tighten.
Why was your Simon supposedly dead? It made no sense. The man in the picture, albeit a little older, was currently showering in the bathroom.
You scanned through the rest of the obituary, noticing the mention of his family. Each name was highlighted, and you risked clicking on the name of the previous Mrs. Riley.
You felt like you were going to hurl when you were greeted with an even more morbid obituary. His entire family was gone. Murdered. Stolen right out from under him. It suddenly made sense. His overprotective nature was simply a trauma response. It still didn’t explain the falsified death certificate, but it was a start.
It wasn’t until you were staring into the photographed eyes of Tommy Riley that it clicked.
Tommy had brown eyes, practically identical to Simon’s. There was one other person you knew of with those eyes. One other person who’s voice sounded so similar to Simon’s, even if it was a little rougher.
Was Tommy…Ghost?
AN: OOOOOH Ya'll excited? We get spicy next chapter...

How can I help you?
Tumblr media
masterlist
summary: since you were small, your mom has always been able to help you feel better. fallen ice cream, scratched knee, your mom always knew the solution. but now? it almost seems that even your mother doesn’t know how to help you now…
pairing: Natasha x depressed daughter reader
warnings: depression, suicidal thoughts
genre: angst, fluff
words: 1459
a/n: I’ve been in quite a weird period the past two weeks. my emotions have been weird and confusing, which is why I haven’t posted anything in a while. I apologise for not posting a lot, and I promise to get at least three small fics out this week :)
You do not have my permission to repost, copy or translate my work
 |——————————— ⴵ ———————————|
You can’t really remember when it started. You were always fond of being in your room, yet at some point, being in your room wasn’t really your choice anymore. When you didn’t know who to blame, you simply blamed Covid. Ever since that virus came, your life has become confusing.
Natasha would usually just blame it on your teenage years. You were going through puberty. Your body changed. Your mind changed. Everything changed.
However, somewhere, deep down, you knew it wasn’t your age.
You graduated last year, and because you weren’t sure what you wanted to study, you had decided to take a gap year. Natasha was incredibly supportive. She said she didn’t want you to choose anything because you felt like you had to, so you didn’t choose at all.
The first few months of your gap year were amazing. You were enjoying all the free time you suddenly had, spending it with either gaming, reading, or watching your shows.
At some point, however, it started to become boring.
You didn't want to go back to school. However, you also didn’t really want to stay at home anymore either. You didn’t know what you wanted.
Most days, you slept in until noon. Natasha would leave for work early in the mornings, and you would stay behind in bed. You only saw your mother when she came home late from work. You didn’t tell her about you sleeping in so late. Your mother has always followed a healthy lifestyle. Even on the days she was free she would wake up early.
She never shamed you for sleeping in. She never woke you up or told you you needed a better sleep schedule. However, still, for some reason, you felt ashamed.
You didn’t tell her about your energy disappearing either. You didn't tell her you didn't have the energy to get out of bed anymore. You didn't tell her you lost the energy to eat. You never told her you lost the ability to take care of yourself. At one point, it just happened.
You knew that if you ever told Natasha she would be worried sick. You knew she would do anything to make you feel better. She had done so since she adopted you.
When you were five you were in the park, and Natasha had gotten you ice cream. However, you were a little too excited, and after jumping once, your ice cream rolled off its cone. You stood there crying, while Natasha simply picked you up and assured you she would fix it. She kissed your tears away and got you another ice cream, in a little paper bowl this time.
When you were 9, you were playing outside. You fell while your auntie Yelena was chasing you, and you scraped your knee. You clutched your leg and you wailed for your mama, and there she was. She picked you up and once again she kissed your tears away. She took you inside and gently cleaned your wounds. She allowed you to pick out a beautiful band-aid, and she gently placed it on your scratch, before kissing it better.
However, how could she possibly fix this? How could she place a band-aid on a wound she couldn't see?
You felt hopeless, and you felt as though the only way out would be to end it. You weren't very fond of the idea of ending your life. You didn't really want it to end, after all. You just wanted your current life to end. Your life was slow, and for some reason it felt as though you were merely floating around.
At some point, you stopped existing. You stopped being you. You just became another dot on the map.
You weren't a person anymore. You were a thing existing in this world. You were existing, but you weren't significant. You didn't matter, so what difference would it make if you weren't there anymore at all?
Today was no different. Natasha had gone to work early, leaving you to sleep in. You were still in bed, even though it was already 4 pm.
However, what you didn't know was that Natasha had been seeing something was wrong for a while. She knew you weren't yourself, and she knew you struggled taking care of yourself. Yet, for your entire life you've always wanted to do things yourself. You never wanted your mom to help you. And so, even now, she decided to give you time to figure things out for yourself.
However, now she decided that time was up. You weren't getting any better, and Natasha was only growing more worried with the day.
She had gone to work that morning, but at her job she told her boss that she was taking a few weeks off. Her daughter needed her, had been her truthful excuse, and her boss agreed. She went home around 4.30 pm, and when she entered the house she found out you were still in bed.
She walked towards your room and softly knocked on your door.
“Sweetheart? Are you there?” Natasha spoke as she opened the door, her eyes quickly adjusting to the darkness in your room.
“Are you alright, honey?” Natasha asked as she walked into your room, closing the door behind her and sitting beside you on the bed. You barely acknowledged her presence, humming softly while you pulled your blankets up a bit, trying to shield your face from the light coming from the hallways.
Natasha let her hand gently stroke your hair, feeling the oily and knotted hair that rested on top of your head.
“Are you okay?” Natasha then asked, and before you even had time to respond, you started crying.
Natasha didn't hesitate to pull you into a sitting position, pulling your body so it could lean upon hers. She allowed you to sob into her shoulder while she gently stroked you back, letting you know you were safe.
“I don't know why I feel this,” you sobbed out.
“It's alright, sweetheart, you don't have to know,” Natasha explained softly as she gave you a kiss on your hair. She held your head tightly to her chest, allowing her lips to rest upon your head.
“I don’t feel good, mama. I don't wanna be like this,” you sobbed out, and it didn't take long before Natasha realised what you truly meant by that.
However, being the understanding mom she is, she didn't comment on it. She didn't suddenly sprung you with motivational quotes, telling you you have so much left to live for. She simply held you, sushing you as you cried and sniffled in her shoulder.
“Can I help you?” Natasha softly asked after a few minutes, waiting for your confirmation.
When you gave a small nod and let out another sob, Natasha lifted your body out of your bed, carrying you towards the bathroom and putting you down on the toilet cover.
She turned the water on, allowing the bathtub to fill with hot water as steam filled the room.
“I’m gonna grab some clean clothes alright? I'll be right back,” Natasha stated as she went back into your room, grabbing some clean clothes before returning to the bathroom. She set the clothes on the rack, helping you off the toilet seat and out of your clothes.
After you were settled in the bath, Natasha pulled out some shampoo, massaging it into your head before rinsing it out, repeating the process with the conditioner.
After your hair was clean, Natasha grabbed a comb, gently working on the knots and matted parts of your hair. After she finished, she washed your hair again, enjoying the feeling of the now silky soft hair in between her fingers.
After finishing your hair, she helped you wash the rest of your body, before helping you out of the bathtub and drying you off.
Natasha didn't allow you to walk yourself, instead lifting you up into her arms and carrying you down the stairs. Luckily she was crazy strong, so despite your age, she could still easily carry you as if you were merely a small child.
After you were settled on the couch, Natasha went into the kitchen, preparing you a nice and healthy meal.
For the rest of the day, you simply sat on the couch, leaning on your mama while she gently stroked your back. It might have seemed lazy to the normal person, but for you, it was change. You weren't alone, for starters. There was daylight in the living room, and there was social interaction, even if little was being said.
In the end, you realised, that despite the wound not being visible, your mama would always be able to stick a band-aid on it.

am i worthy of this gift?
shuri x reader
summary: after the birth of your newborn daughter, shuri makes a promise to her, she’d always be there.
ib:
it was around 3– maybe 4am, you and your wife, shuri were laying in bed, soundly asleep, until the sound of your daughter, amani’s, cries interrupted your slumber.
ever since the bundle of joy was born, it seemed like you haven’t gotten any rest, and it looked and quite literally was taking a toll on you. as you groaned and prepared yourself to get up, shuri stopped you.
“lay back down, umfazi, i’ll get her.” she reassured you softly, giving you a gentle kiss on your forehead and throwing the duvet off of her while you laid your head back down on your silk pillow.
shuri steadily walked up to the crib, “hey, hey..” she whispered to the tiny one, picking her up and softly bouncing her in her arms, making her way to the large accent chair.
catch me i’ve fallen in love for the first time
she rocked amani close to her, letting her hear the steadiness of shuri’s heartbeat as she took slow, calm breaths, softly rubbing her back and kissing her atop her head.
soon the girl’s cries turned to hiccups, then to coos.
for you i drop the tough guy shit, on this bus i sit
the queen chuckled to herself, “made all of that fuss.” she teased, smiling down at the little princess. she studied the infants features, god she had to be the most gorgeous baby she’d ever seen, or maybe she was just biased.
“hi omncinci” she whispered, gently wiping off the tears from her daughters chubby cheeks with her thumb.
“you were waking mommy up, you know? she’s been really sleepy..”
amani only stared up at her with her big brown eyes.
the royal shook her head, “i don’t know why i’m talking to you as if you can even comprehend words.” she exhaled, watching the gummy smile spread across the princess’ face. the sight only warmed shuri’s heart more.
reminisce when you came out the womb
“what am i going to do with you omncinci?” she spoke, mainly to herself.
she was blessed with the intelligence to be able to grant the gift of the both of you, two females, to create a child with both of your combined dna. but she feels like she might waste it.
what if she isn’t a good mother? what if she doesn’t know how to help you when you need her? how to connect with the little bundle of joy once she grows and matures? will they both fight? will they even like each other?
the soft giddily screech of her daughter snapped her out of her thoughts.
she brought amani up to kiss her over her face, she couldn’t laugh just yet, but shuri could tell she was trying, it made her giggle to herself.
“are you trying to laugh? are you laughing at me encinci?” she mocked, tickling the infant in her stomach, causing her legs to squirm.
tears of joy i think filled up the room
she could remember the day that you both had announced the birth of your daughter to the nation. they called her the kingdom’s gift, and that she is. she was something, someone, you all needed.
shuri remembered the spark in your tear filled eyes as amani was brought into your arms. she hadn’t cried when she came out of your womb, she merely looked around, after just coming into the world, she was curious little thing.
you told her how perfect she was, how beautiful she looked, she had shuri’s skin complexion but had your eyes, with the longest, prettiest lashes. a mop of curls set atop her head. and she was so little, almost as if you could crush her if you held her too hard.
she truly was perfect and had to be the most gorgeous baby you both had ever laid your eyes upon, and the kingdom agreed.
you are now the reason that i fight
it had seemed like time had slowed down as shuri had first seen the baby girl. she had never cried that much since the death of her mother and her brother.
but now she was blessed with the gift of a family of her own.
“i promise you,” her voice cracked, as a single tear fell down her cheek, “i’m going to be here for you, i wont ever let you go.”
i ain’t never did nothing this right in my whole life
“i always give you a shoulder to cry on, then i’ll dry your tears, i’ll clear the skies when it rains, i’ll make sure you never feel anything but joy, i’d give you the moon and stars if you asked me, i’d move mountains for you, i’d keep away all the big bad wolves that would even dare to mess with you, i won’t ever let any harm come to you, sithandwa.”
got me thinkin’…
“i love you.”
am i worthy of this gift?

note ; it’s just so easy to blurb abt harvey rn even though i wish i could respond to asks. studying for finals & i have sm work that’s why i’ve been a little slow recently 😓
Tumblr media
just thinking about harvey, ever the gentleman, meeting your parents for the first time.
despite him being the sweetest, probably the best kind of man that your parents would want you to end up with—he’s never been anxious like this. or at least, it’s been a long time.
you dropped the bomb on him in the middle of a very peaceful evening. he had a nice day at work, he’s spending an even better night with you—yet the news suddenly threw a wrench into his serenity.
it’s like you forgot the kind of man you’re dating. while in the back of his mind he’s eager to meet the people he knows are going to be his in-laws someday—it’s the same reason why he’s frightened to meet them.
first impressions are everything, so for the next week he’s going to be asking you questions about things you hardly even know.
what’s your mom’s favorite meal? what does your dad do for a living? what kind of people are your parents? do you think they’ll like him?
“well considering my mom asks about you all the time, yeah, i think they’ll like you.” you giggle, watching his features soften despite his stiff shoulders.
and when it’s the day your parents are set to come into town, it really has been a long time since he’s felt this sweaty.
you haven’t seen him this anxious in so long. it’s endearing how important it is to him.
while he always dresses well, he made a little extra effort today. button up tucked into his slacks, his tie around his neck sitting neater then usual, his hair combed. he sits at the kitchen table bouncing his knee anxiously, looking off into space in deep thought you know is eating him alive.
you, however, sit in your cleaner work clothes, hair like always, maybe a couple extra pieces of jewelry on.
you’ve done your best trying to ease his worries, but even you know there’s nothing that’ll convince him from the worst. there’s no amount of, “honey, they’re going to love you. i promise,” that’ll calm his nerves.
and even though when you brush a couple of his stray hairs behind his ear, leaning down to kiss his forehead, reassuring him once more—he still feels his heart drop to his stomach when he hears the couple knocks on the door.
you greet them warmly, just as a daughter who hasn’t seen her parents in months would. he stands back, wondering what the hell he should be doing with his hands, and if he’s smiling correctly.
when you turn to him, introducing him as your boyfriend, he’s too distracted to notice the look of reassurance you shoot him. sliding your hand across his back, resting your cheek on his shoulder for a moment while he reaches out to introduce himself.
he shakes your parents hands with a warm smile, praying to yoba they don’t notice how clammy they are.
the entirety of the evening is spent with the majority of you catching up with your parents, asking about other family members and hearing about their lives. you carry the conversation significantly—but when it becomes time for your parents to begin asking him questions, you allow him to speak.
he’s good with conversation, so ignoring the fact that these are the people that raised the love of his life—he can manage his sentences without a single stutter.
and when he’s able to make your father laugh, you can practically see the weight lift off his shoulders.
it’s midway through the evening when you come back inside after giving your parents a tour, he stayed in to make you all dinner. you had a moment to come up to him while your parents were off in some other room, wrapping your arms around his waist and peeking over his shoulder.
“how are you doing?” you hum, fixing your gaze on his when he turns to look at you.
“much better.” he chuckles, stirring up the contents in the pot. “how’d they like the farm?”
you giggle. “they love it. my dad got all sentimental about it,” he doesn’t miss the fondness laced in your voice. “guess what?”
he shoots a glance over your head, before humming, “what?”
you squeeze his torso a little tighter. “my mom just told me she loves you. probably more then me, actually.” you tease, leaning over to see his cheeks darken and his lips purse into a smile. “my dad, too. in fact, he said you’re a good man.”
your voice drops an octave to mimic your fathers tone, making him exhale out a laugh through his nose.
though, hearing that made the smile on his cheeks hardly budge for the rest of the evening.
he’s beyond glad his impression made your parents feel that way, even more so because it only indulges his thoughts of your future. and while he could’ve shit his pants when your father pulled him aside after dinner, humming one last greeting, even going as far as to saying, “thank you for treating my daughter so well, she speaks very highly of you,” it makes his heart ache.
hearing your father’s approval, affirming your love of him in the same sentence—well, he almost collapsed.
feeling so nervous for days—really months because he knew he had to meet them at some point—and hearing that was like the deepest breath of fresh air he’s ever received.
so what he’s been in past relationships, maybe their parents liked him as well. none of that mattered, though. because this is the one that really counts. this is the family he wants to be acquainted with the rest of his life.
you’re the one that’s bringing these people into his life.
and really, he should be the one thanking them.
because without them, you’d have never stumbled into his life. and without you, he truly wouldn’t believe in this future.

Family Matters Part 2
Summary: Eddie realizes his mistake, but he doesn’t know how to fix it. Will a little bit of tough love from Uncle Wayne give him the right push?
Wayne Munson browsed through the grocery store for the first time in what seems forever. Now that his boy is back, he figured he’d keep some food in the house in case Eddie ever wanted to stop over.
For the past year, Wayne has been living off of fast food and whatever snacks he picked up at the convenience store when he went to get his lotteries.
Now, he’s strolling up and down the aisles of Hawkin’s favorite grocery store looking for anything and everything that catches his eye.
However, the thing that caught his eye today wasn’t any food. No, it was the girl he considered to be a daughter to him. The girl that he hasn’t seen since Eddie took off with Corroded Coffin. The girl that made his nephew the happiest Wayne has ever seen him. Y/n Y/l/n.
Wayne approaches you while you were deciding which spaghetti sauce you should buy tonight for dinner.
“My personal favorite is the thick and hearty.” You hear a gruff voice say over your shoulder. You turn around ready to snap at whatever old creep decided to come up to you today. However, when you turned around, you realized it wasn’t an old creep at all, in fact it was one of the best men you have ever known. Uncle Wayne.
You pull him into a hug, “Uncle Wayne, how have you been.”
He hugs back and squeezes you tightly, “I’ve been great kiddo, I’ve been great.” He says and holds the hug a little bit longer.
Maggie coos from the cart and both of your attentions turn toward your daughter.
“And who is this?” Wayne says while looking at Maggie.
“This is my daughter, Maggie.” You say a little bit quietly but still with a smile.
You never told Uncle Wayne about Maggie, but you also haven’t seen him in almost 2 years. You assumed Eddie didn’t say anything to him, he truly left you in his past.
You can tell Wayne was looking at her and noticing all of Eddie’s features in her. She has a lot of them, His big brown eyes, his smile, and she even has his curly brown hair, although that just started growing. You know Wayne noticed all of these things. You can tell he was looking for a way to start this conversation.
“She has your nose.” He says with a knowing smile and bops Maggie’s nose, which she giggles at, taking a liking to him already.
You chuckle, “Yes, yes she does.” You say and smile down at your feet.
“Why didn’t I know about her until today kid?” Wayne asks you.
You stutter, “Well-well, I don’t know Uncle Wayne, I-I haven’t seen you in forever. At least not since I knew about her.”
He chuckles unhumoressly, “No, that’s not what I mean, I mean why didn’t my boy ever tell me about this angel.”
“I don’t know, your boy doesn’t even know this angel is a girl.” You feel bad for Uncle Wayne having to find out about this in this way, and you feel bad that he will most surely hand Eddie his ass over this. But you weren’t good at thinking on your toes so you just told the truth. And you shouldn’t feel bad for it, but you do.
“Eddie is a Goddamned idiot.” When Uncle Wayne gets mad, he doesn’t yell. But you still know when he’s getting mad. His eyes get dark. He talks through his teeth. The tips of his ears get red. And right now Uncle Wayne is mad. He is furious.
And before the storm can hit you say, “Uncle Wayne, I really have to go, but I miss you. You should come over for dinner once in a while, have a home cooked meal.” You lean in and give him another hug.
He hugs you back and tell you he loves you and then bops Maggie’s nose again.
He watches you continue your grocery shopping, and he leaves his full cart there and storms off to find his boy.
——————————————————————————————-
Pounding. That’s what Eddie woke up to. Pounding on his door. He checks the clock, 7PM. He didn’t realize his nap lasted so long.
Pounding.
“One second Jesus Christ.” He says while pulling a shirt over his head.
He opens the door to find Uncle Wayne standing there. Being so excited to see him, he doesn’t even realize how pissed his uncle is.
“Uncle Wayne I missed you so much old man.” He pulls him into a hug and pulls him inside his apartment.
“Don’t give me that shit boy.” Wayne says and Eddie takes a defensive step back.
“Man what’s wrong, I’ve been gone for two years now I’m finally back and you’re already yelling at me.” he says starting to raise his voice.
“Two years too long. Two years too long when you have a Goddamn good girl here and a child. Two years too long. You gotta be stupid boy. That girl was the best thing to ever happen to you, and you had a shot at a family with her. You’re stupid. And I never even got to know.” Wayne started in on him and made Eddie feel even guiltier for his mistakes.
“Uncle Wayne I know, I’ve been stupid, I don’t know how to make it up to her.” Eddie says with tears in his eyes.
“You’ll be lucky if you ever get to. If I were her I’d spit in your face and tell you to go to hell. Who raised you this way? Because it sure as hell wasn’t me. This is your fathers activities. You never wanted to end up like him. But you did, you are. You don’t know how to make it up to her? Did you even fucking try boy?” Wayne says plopping down on the couch. Eddie sits next to him and sobs.
“I’m just like him. I’m a piece of shit.” Wayne softens up a little at this. Crying his own tears. He’s never seen Eddie cry like this before. Not since he was a kid.
“You’re not a piece of shit. But you did a piece of shit thing. You’re not just like your father. Your father wouldn’t sit here and cry over his mistake. He wouldn’t even consider it a mistake. But you’re better than he is. Now you gotta prove it to yourself and to Y/n and to Maggie that you’re better than he is.” Wayne said rubbing Eddie’s back.
“Her names Maggie? You got to meet her?” He looks up at Wayne with his big brown eyes. They were filled with hope and admiration.
“Her name is Maggie. She’s a beautiful little girl. She looks a lot like her father.” Eddie once again sobbed. He wants to meet her so bad. He wants to see you so bad. But how does he approach you after all this time?
“You need to talk to Y/N kid, if you want to be in your daughters life in any way, you need to talk to her.” Eddie nods his head.
“I know I do, I need to find the balls to do it. When did I become such a coward? When did I become okay with hurting so many people? Fuck I hurt you, I took away an opportunity for you to be a grandfather, you would be so good at it, I know you would. I hurt Y/n, how could I hurt her? She was everything to me, she still is, when did I become so stupid? When did I become so blind and naive to not see that she was everything I needed?” Eddie said now pacing around the room. Trying to understand his own actions.
“Ed, you were stupid. I’m gonna be blunt with you. You fucked up royally, and now you’re going to have to work your ass off to make it right. But you’re a good guy, and I know you don’t want to be a dead beat father, so make it fucking right kid.” Wayne says to him seriously and Eddie nods his head so hard his hair bounces.
“Yeah I’m a good guy. And it’s going to be fucking hard but Y/n is worth it. Maggie is worth it.”
It’s short, but I knew I wanted Wayne to find out about Maggie and to give Eddie a piece of his mind. I know we don’t like Eddie right now and Y/n may seem like a pushover, but she’s not. She’s forgiving, but that doesn’t mean she’ll forget.

but then you started ranting about how much you loved staying there
and he just couldn’t say no to you
or your pretty face
but we all know that you didn’t really think bunker 9 was the most comfortable place to sleep in
you just wanted to stay with your repair boy
after being two idiots who were very much in love but would never admit it
your friends got sick of it
y’know what that meaaannssss
at first percy and annabeth started talking about it
apparently piper and jason also had discussed it before (mostly piper)
frank and hazel are just there yk
chilling
with no clue about what’s going on
anyway
doing very couple-ish things all together
there were eight of you.
obviously meaning that
you and leo had to be dragged into all of that
which neither of you complained about
but you wouldn’t say it
going on carnival dates <3
well they weren’t technically dates for you and leo
but they felt like dates
the other six ditched you every second
and you two still managed to be clueless
smh
honestly thank the gods for piper
when you AND leo both found out about your feelings at the same time
you were both ranting to her
cause she’s the daughter of aphrodite
ykyk
and also a great friend
but she needed a break atp
hearing both of you yap about each other not knowing that the other feels the same
until one day she had ENOUGH
bro was tired
fr
so she decided to make both of you a bit jelly
not a bit tbh
yk, telling leo that the new guy from cabin 7 was talking about asking you out
or telling you that one of her sisters were going to make a move on leo at the bonfire tonight
leo couldn’t let some guy try to make a move on his girl
and you couldn’t either
so
both of you decided to confess at the same time
leo walked up to you just as you were about to find him
“can we go somewhere private?”
such a simple sentence left you speechless, only managing a nod
“i don’t want you to go out with him” leo blurted out
“with who?” you asked, did you have a date you forgot about?
“andrew, the new guy from 7?”
“i’m not going on a date with him, oh wait- piper...”
silence. total silence.
“i have something to-“
“i have to tell y-“
you couldn’t help but laugh at that, “go ahead.”
“i would say ‘ladies first’, but i have to say this, ever since i stepped a foot in camp, i’ve had a crush on you, so will you do the honors of being my girl?”
“i’d love to.”
“so would it be okay if i-“
“shut up, valdez”
and he did shut up, because his tongue was too busy being down your throat
ok what.
anyway
after that night, your friends wished they never set you two up
they were just jealous that you two were a better couple than them
or that’s what you thought
leo was actually the best boyfriend you could ask for
he would make you the coolest gifts ever
any kind of jewellery a girl could dream of
he made it
flowers that never die, all yours
honestly you can’t recall a night that you haven’t slept without leo in winter
slept.
he kept you so warm when it was cold out
cause he’s your fireboy
he’s so touchy and always has to have his arm around you somehow
but he wouldn’t be much of a pda guy
especially it it makes you uncomfortable.

——
You tried to not think about it too much. You tried, as your parents delivered the news, as you saw your sister’s face, the way it started to glow. You try not to think about it too much now, when you see her walking down the aisle, your father carrying her towards her future husband, a proud smile adorning his features.
Your father looks euphoric, invencible. Carries himself like he owns the world. He looks too happy, too happy for someone who just buried his daughter’s future. He ruined her life.
Momentarily, just for a second, you imagine what would happen if you stopped everything. Maybe make a quick distraction, take the gun out of one of the bodyguards, pretend you will shoot yourself or anyone at the wedding if they dare to not let your sister go. Such a morbid thought, maybe if you were brave enough you would stop this. You would’ve planned something, anything, to get your sister out of this situation but you don’t.
You were scared, a coward. But also the mafia was bigger than you. The Jeon’s were bigger than the mafia. and who would dare to go against them? not certainly you.
You feel something wet on your cheeks, pretty sure it was tears, they were already blurring your vision and fogging up your glasses. Your mother lets out a scoff.
“I told you to wear contacts.” but you don’t reply. You don’t even look at her, you keep your eyes on your sister, her shiny long black hair cascading down her back. “Get a hold of yourself. People are watching” she whispers harshly against your ear.
Biting your tongue, you nod.
When your sister gets to the altar, you dig your nails into your skin, your chin bobbling a little. Suddenly you feel an arm graze yours, from the corner of your eye you can see it’s SunHee.
Your one and only friend.
“It’s gonna be alright.” she takes your hand, giving it a squeeze. Your hand trembles against hers. “It’s gonna be okay.”
You let out a breath and swallow the pathetic cry that wants to rip out of your throat.
“Trust me.” she says this time more sternly “Everything will be fine.”
You bob your head and look ahead once again. And as the pastor starts speaking, and seconds turn into hours you realize it’s over. The veil has been lifted.
“Now I pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.”
Your sister has been kissed by the devil. There’s no turning back now.
——-
The chattering around you is not big enough to drown your own thoughts. Neither is the champagne that is being passed around. You’re on your second glass on an empty stomach, you’re pretty sure by now you should be fine. Less worried, less anxious. But no, you still feel like a ticking bomb, anxiety crawling all the way up to your chest. You’ve been taking deep breaths ever since you and your family arrived at the wedding reception, tugging the ends of your dress.
You haven’t been able to talk to your sister and you don’t think you will anytime soon. Your mother has been making sure you don’t cross paths with her and if you do, it’s quick glances. Your mother has been glued by your side. You can feel her eyes from the other side of the room, watching you like a hawk.
As another waitress passes by, you extend your hand to take another glass but the tray is pushed out of your way. You recognize those hands.
“I think that’s enough for tonight.” A deep voice says, making you shiver. “Don't serve more to her. Tell that to the others too.”
The waitress nods cordially and continues his way to the other guests.
“Y/N.” The way your name rolls out of his tongue, makes you grimace. You never liked it. It held a distinctive tone, as if talking to a child.
“Taehyung.”
He shifts closer to you. His body heat enfolding yours, you could smell his perfume.
“Are you okay?” he says softly, almost in a murmur.
“No.”
“Do you want to-
You turn your body to him, facing him fully. It caughts him off guard, making him stop on whatever he was about to say.
“Please don’t pretend you care.” and with that you leave, on trembling legs and heavy tears, threatening to spill out from your eyes.
Could this night get any fucking worse?
Making your way to the bathroom, you see another waitress coming from the left and without any much thought you take it from his hand, almost making the man fall on his back.
“S-Sorry.” You whisper dumbly, gripping the tray as if it was some sort of support and continue your way to the bathroom.
You breathe in relief once you see there’s no one there. Putting the tray full of glasses of champagne on the sink, you take two glasses as you settle yourself down on the floor. You drink one instantly, hiccuping after another one.
Your head starts to feel a little fuzzy but you don’t stop, not until there’s only three left and the bright bathroom lights seem brighter than before. You let out a giggle.
Standing up on wobbly legs, you wonder how much time has passed. Maybe not so much, since no one has bothered to get into the bathroom after you got in. Making your way to the door, you struggle to open it, making you frown.
“Stupid door open up.” you mumble while you twist and pull but nothing happens. You keep trying and trying until a silky voice halts your movements.
“Sunflower?”
Your chest feels heavy, like all the air has been sucked out of your lungs and suddenly you feel like throwing up.
“Sunflower?” he hums, making the hairs on your arms stand up, goosebumps covering your skin in seconds. “Are you in trouble, sunflower? do you need my help?”
You stumble back, almost falling on your ass. You feel cold and sweaty. Like needles are penetrating your skin. The handle starts to jiggle.
“Sunflower, i know you’re in there. But don’t worry, darling, i will get you out.”
The handle twists painfully slow as your heart sinks in your chest. Taking a step back this time you do fall. Just in time as he opens the door, his sardonic smile greeting you.
He closes the door behind him and you hear a click.
Thump.
Thump.
Thump.
The sound of his chelsea boots hitting the marble floor matches the beating of your heart. You’re trembling and all the champagne you’ve drank threatens to spill out of your throat. Soft hands get a hold of your chin, his thumb tentatively running down your throat. You let out a whimper.
“My my, look at you, sunflower. Did you have too much fun?” He giggles sweetly, showing his pearly white teeth and moon eye smile.
To any other person Park jimin was the charming prince, a soft voice with gentle features. He looked so innocent. But for those who belonged in this life knew that looks could be deceiving. He was deadly as he was sweet.
Your lips tremble and you try to get away from his hands but he holds you firmly. His eyes hardening as you try to put some distance between you two.
“Always so stubborn. Do we have to tell every single waiter out there to not serve you alcohol or are you finally gonna behave like the good girl you are?” His thumb presses down harshly on your neck and you wonder if he can feel how fast your heart is beating.
You swallow, your throat feeling dry and rather than answering him, you look at him. You know he’s not done, with the way he’s staring at you, his dark eyes almost burning yours.
“You’re lucky I was the one who found you here and not him. You know that right?” His jaw tenses while he speaks, his plump lips now formed into a thin line. He’s pissed. “Nod if you understand”
And you do, automatically, like a robot.
“Now, sunflower, you’re gonna clean yourself up.” you nod again and the ends of his mouth quirk at that. “You will go out and smile. Maybe laugh a little too. It’s your sister’s wedding, darling. Cheer up. It’s supposed to be fun.”
You shiver at his latest words and you almost tremble. You try to not let it show. How his wording of choice affected you, how you physically revolted at them. But Jimin sees right through you. He always did.
He smiles once again, his fingers gently caressing your face.
“Always so pretty when you cry.” He murmurs softly, his gaze focusing on your face and then it goes lower, stopping at your lips.“See you out there, sunflower. Don’t forget you still owe me a dance.” and with that he leaves.
——
You drank too much. You regret it deeply and now you’re sleepy. Your eyes threaten to close every five minutes, it’s annoying really, trying to keep yourself awake. You have to pinch yourself or dig your nails into your skin, maybe a little pain will wake you up. So you do, you pinch and dig until there’s a red spot on your arm, until it burns.
You don’t stop until you see Sunhee coming your way, her arm entangled with Taehyung's. You stiffen a little.
“You need a bed, immediately.” Says your friend sweetly while she runs her hand through your hair.
She looks at you with so much pity. And you hate it. You know Sunhee truly cares about you, too much, sometimes you feel like a burden. Always by your side, always wiping your tears, always defending you. Sunhee deserved a friend, not someone who needed to be babysat.
She continues to touch you, patting your head lovingly and you don’t miss the way Taehyung eyes her hand, dark orbs observing every movement, the way his hand tightens on her waist, making her stumble back a little, her hand no longer close to reach you.
“You’re messing up her hair, honey. You don’t want Y/N’s head to end up looking like a bird nest, do you?” he tells her with a playful smile, making Sunhee laugh.
She pokes him on the stomach funnily, making him laugh too, but to your ears it doesn’t sound as truthful.
“You’re right, you’re right. Sorry Y/nie.” She says with a cheeky smile and then proceeds to peck her boyfriend’s lips. “I’m gonna get more wine. Do you want some?” Taehyung declines and then Sunhee Looks at you. “Y/N?”
Once again you feel those eyes on you. They’re so heavy. so intense that it makes you breathless. You shake your head and Sunhee nods. “Alright. i’ll be right back.”
When Sunhee leaves, the room feels smaller. Suffocating . You wish you could disappear, you wish you could be invisible. You just wanted to be left alone. Before you knew it, that same perfume invades your senses. He’s so close but you don’t dare to look up.
“Look at me.”
And even though his deep voice gives you goosebumps, you ignore him. You’re tired. So tired.
“The night just stared, YN. don’t be so sulky. I hate seeing you like this” He continues to say, his hand now on your arm and you hate it so much. You hate his body touching yours or the way he talks like he cares, like he’s being sincere. “This is a new beginning for us. For all of us.”
This time you look up, slowly. A small mocking smile adorning your lips.
“There is no us.”
And he mirrors you, his eyes now demonstrating a shine they didn’t have before. He loves your eyes matching his, his heat engulfing yours, the way you talk to him even though it irradiates with dislike. He loves it.
“But there is. There is for me, for Jimin and for him. It has always been an us, and there always will be.”
You press your lips in a tight line. You won’t cry again, not in front of him or them watching.
“Why are you doing this? I thought you were different.” and even though you don’t let your tears fall your voice cracks, betraying you.
He seems taken back for a few seconds, and you swore you could see something else in his eyes besides mirth. But it’s gone as quick as you perceive it.
“I told you I will always be by your side. Didn’t I?”
And before you can reply, Sunhee comes back, drink in her hand and the other around her boyfriend’s neck.
“What are you two talking about? Are you gossiping without me?”
Taehyung eyes you briefly before looking back at his girlfriend, giving her one his usual seductive boxy smiles. He shakes his head and says. “Not at all. Just movies, love.”
—-
Your feet hurt when you go back to the hotel for standing up so much, you’re glad the night is over. Your mother complains beside you, talking about how you didn’t even dare to look at your sister while she was dancing with her now-husband. How disrespectful you were for denying Jimin a dance.
“I didn’t raise you for you to have such poor manners. This is why you’ll never get married, you’re ungrateful and a brat. No one wants to marry a brat.” She barks and huffs but you’re too tired to care.
Also, you’re used to it.
“I’m sorry, mother.”
“You better be.” she spits back and walks ahead of you.
You sigh, your feet hurt so much, this is why you avoid wearing heels. You will never get used to them or the pain that comes with it. You plop yourself down in one of the stool bars located in the lobby, from your peripheral vision you could see your mother getting on the elevator. She didn’t wait for you. Good. You didn’t want to hear anything else that came out of her mouth and also you needed to rest. Just for a few seconds.
Your phone vibrates and you see it’s a message from Sunhee.
Sunhee
did you guys get to the hotel??
Y/N:
yess. we arrived safely.
Sunhee:
Good. see you tomorrow y/nie. sleep well!!
Y/N:
you too. love youuu.
Sunhee:
love you toooooooo.
You smile at her text. What would you do without Sunhee? clicking out of the chat, your heart drops when you see your other unread messages. You don’t dare to reply. He’s muted for a reason and it will stay that way.
You decide to open youtube to distract yourself, letting your head fall on the bar counter. You blink slowly, once, twice, thrice and before you knew it, your breathing got slower and so did your racing heart. You let the darkness overtake you.
You fall asleep.
And it feels great, until you feel it. Calloused hands tenderly touching your face, it makes you gasp. And if it wasn’t for the hands that were previously caressing your face, you probably would’ve fell off the chair. Those hands that feel scorching hot on your waist, confining you side by side.
It’s terrifying the visceral reaction your body has when you feel him, when you see him. The exposed toned chest, the tattooed neck adorned with chains, you know him so well.
All those years and you’ll never get used to it. His touch.
The muscles on his arms seem to tense when you tighten your grip on him. You were starting to shake like a leaf and all it took you was to look up at the devil. He smiles at you and you can’t help but look down. That indisticve mole of his, right under his bottom lip and newly done piercing seem to greet you. He licks them, as if inviting you to get closer.
Time feels like it has stopped and your breathing shortens when he cuts the distance between you two even more. His chest touching yours. Your entire body seems to be overcomed by electricity.
“Angel eyes.” He murmurs, dark big eyes pinning you down, his hands now on your hips, his thumbs going in painfully slow circular motions. You could almost feel his eyelashes grazing your cheeks. It makes you visibly gulp. “Why weren’t you replying to my texts, hmm?”
He stares at you deeply, as if he’s ready to pounce on you. It makes the hairs on your neck stand up, you don’t like it at all. When he looks at you that way, as if he’s ready to devour you whole.
At the lack of your response he hums, inspecting your face while he plays with his lip ring. His big hand is now holding your face by your chin. He smiles once again, showing a perfect set of white teeth. He looks delighted.
“Why are you so quiet? won’t you congratulate me?” His voice displays excitement while his thumbs trace your lips.
The rings on his finger feel cold against your skin and you wish you could get away from him.
To be honest, I'm quiet worried about you. You look a little troubled, angel eyes. What’s going on inside that little pretty head of yours? Come on, you can talk to me. After all, we’re like family now.”
Your jaw clenches at his words and your stomach churns in disgust. God, you really wanna throw up.
“We-We’re not family. You will never-
His thumb on your lips silences you completely. His breath now tickling your right cheek makes you itch all over. You feel his mouth close to your ear.
“And thank fucking god for that. It would be terrible if you were. Don’t you think so, angel eyes? cant go around wanting to fuck a family member. ” he says lowly and then his tongue travels from your neck all the way up to your lobe, leaving a wet trail and you can’t help let out a yelp, immediately pushing him away with all the strength you could muster.
Jungkook's eyes widen comically and so does his eyebrows. He lets out a hearty laugh.
“You never fail to make me laugh. You’re so fucking adorable, angel eyes, i wish i could i keep you next to me all times.”
“You’re sick.” You spit.
“That 's no way to talk to your brother-in-law. What would your mother think? her daughter and that nasty mouth of hers. Luckily I won't tell a soul.” He croons mirthfully, sporting his go-to sardonic smile. One you know so well. The one that has been haunting you for the past ten years, even in your dreams you couldn’t get away from him.
Your hands form into a fist and you’re pretty sure you’re shaking but not from fear but from rage this time. You hate him so much. You hated him so much that you fantasized about killing him. Nothing would bring you more pleasure than seeing him gone from your life, from your sister’s. Forever.
“I’m good at keeping secrets, remember?” he continues, getting closer to you once again. Feline eyes almost cutting through yours. “That’s why we get along so well, don’t we? sometimes I think that’s why you and I-
You stand up abruptly.
“Shut. up.”
He holds a finger to his chin, as if he’s actually thinking about it.
“I can find a few ways to do so but I would need your help.” He says tauntingly. The ends of his mouth twitching slightly. “Ever heard of face-sitting, angel eyes?”
And before you know it you lunge at him, your fist colliding with his chest. And you feel pathetic instantly . Your small moment of bravery dying as soon as you touch him. Jungkook is so much stronger than you. Any attempt of physical harm from you feels like a faint tickle to him.
A laugh bubbles out of his chest. It makes your ears ring, because it sounds so real, as if it’s coming from a child. But wasn’t that really Jungkook? A child in a man’s body.
What’s yours is mine and what’s mine is mine.
What he wants, he gets. Always throwing a fit when things didn’t go his way, punching things, smashing things, killing things. Your mother talked about brats but she has never met one like Jungkook.
The vibrations coming out of his chest while he still laughs at you made you realize this: he was truly enjoying this. You will always be his source of laughter, something he could toy with, make fun of, pick at it and then later on ridicule.
He hugs you, after he pins your arms down, his chin resting on your shoulder. You feel him inhaling the scent of your hair.
“My sweet angel, this is just the beginning for us. For all of us.” You don’t know when you start crying, maybe when he snuggles into you even more, when you realize this is your reality now. There’s no way to escape. maybe there never was. You’re trashing against him, but he holds you tightly.
He will never let you go.
None of them will.
“We told you we will always be by your side, didn’t we? We will keep you forever.”

Chapter 12 - Let it Hurt
Seven forty two in the morning,
Eight seconds before it all sinks in.
Put your best face on for the world,
Fake another smile and just pretend.
But you're just puttin' off the pain,
Nothing's ever really gonna change.
Spencer arrived at Rossi’s early and spent the entire morning slaving over decorations and readying the house for the onslaught of teenagers due to descend upon Rossi’s pristine mansion this afternoon.
He was exhausted before the party even started.
He hung banners and streamers from almost every inch of the ceiling. He set up a large table that took up most of his yard with food and paper plates.
Rossi restocked his fridge with soda bottles from the garage and beers and wine for the adults.
Spencer wrapped a ridiculous amount of presents, the divorced parent guilt making him spend an exuberant amount of money on his eldest daughter.
JJ arrived a few hours before the party and rewrapped them all as she told him they looked like the dog had done it.
They had around a half hour to spare once the house was set up. Rossi had retreated to his study to recoup before his house was flooded with teens.
Spencer and JJ sat in his backyard, JJ indulging in a glass of wine while he had one small scotch just to take the edge off.
He could see her staring at the side of his face while he sipped from the tumbler and eventually he sighed and turned to look at her.
“What?”
“You’re nervous.” She had that knowing glint in her eye.
“You becoming a profiler was the worst thing that ever happened to me, do you know that?” His words caused her to laugh.
“And now you’re deflecting.” She smugly sipped her wine.
“My ex-wife and her boyfriend are going to be here today. My ex-wife who I haven’t spent more than a few minutes with since she moved out of our home. Of course I’m nervous. I’m kinda glad we decided to do it here actually, I couldn’t imagine her spending that much time in my house. The house she destroyed with her betrayal.” He finished his scotch but it didn’t help the way he’d hoped.
“Has it ever occurred to you to move?” She cocked an eyebrow at him, regarding him curiously.
“I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately.” He confessed with another sigh. “I thought painting would help. I thought about asking Morgan to help me just gut the place. But changing the facade isn’t going to erase the memories that house holds.”
“A fresh start would be good for you all. Especially with your blossoming new relationship.” JJ wiggled her eyebrows suggestively, leaning over and nudging his shoulder with her own.
“I don’t know about that.” He shook his head. “I don’t think it’s going to last with Y/N.”
“But she’s coming to the party? She’s going to meet your kids?”
“Yeah that might have been an error in judgement.” He scratched the back of his neck. “I don’t want it to end, it’s not like I actively want this to fall apart.”
“So why do you think it's going to?” She frowned at him.
“I’ve done the family thing. I don’t want to do it again.” He sighed deeply. “I told her I wasn’t sure if I’d ever want anymore kids but that wasn’t true. Jennifer, I don’t want more kids. Not now, not ever. I love Daisy and Lily with all my heart but I don’t want anymore. I don’t want to get married again, I don’t want any of it. I am crazy about her and I would happily spend the rest of my life with her. But marriage and more kids aren’t in my future. But they are in hers.”
“Shit,” she sipped her wine. “Shit.”
“Yeah.” He groaned, reaching across and grabbing her glass from her hand.
She let him take it and watched him down the entire glass in one.
“You don’t like white wine.” She rolled her eyes.
“I do not.” He pulled a face as he swallowed. “That was disgusting.”
“You’ve gotta talk to her, you know? Probably before she meets your daughters.”
“That’s gonna be kinda hard don’t you think? What am I meant to do just wait by the door for her to arrive and turn her away? God I’ve fucked up, I need another drink.” He pushed himself up and JJ was quick to do the same.
Before he could pass her towards the kitchen she grabbed his arm.
“That is not a good idea.” She tugged him back. “You’re about to host a birthday party for your daughter, do you really want to be drunk for that?”
“Yes?” He pulled a face with a shrug.
“Trust me when I say you don’t.” She chuckled. “Maybe once the party is over and the kids have gone back to Maeve’s, but not right now.”
He heaved a large sigh which told her he conceded even if he wasn’t happy about it.
“Will you get drunk with me after the party?” He asked a little meekly.
“Sounds like a date.” She smiled at him. “I’m sure we can even get the others on board.”
“That would be good, I need that.” He nodded just as the doorbell rang.
He checked his watch and frowned as he still had fifteen minutes until people were supposed to show up.
“Why are people always early?” He grumbled, heading to the back door but once again JJ stopped him with a hand on his shoulder.
When he turned back to her she was proffering a packet of mints his way with a small smile.
“You don’t want Maeve or the kids smelling wine on your breath.” She deposited one in his hand.
He nodded his thanks and popped the mint in his mouth as he continued through the back door and towards the front.
When he opened the door she was smiling at him over a cake which was at least four times the size of his head.
“You’re early.” He grumbled, stepping aside to let his ex in Rossi’s house.
“I wanted to see what you’d done before the party kicked off.” Maeve followed him inside.
“Didn’t trust me to throw my own kid a birthday party?” He huffed as they headed to the kitchen where JJ was fussing over some food in the oven.
“Can we not do this today?” Maeve sighed as she set the cake on the counter.
“Do what?”
“The passive aggressiveness. Can you just take one day off from hating me so we can celebrate our daughter's birthday?”
Spencer was going to argue, Maeve knew it and JJ knew it too. JJ came around the kitchen island and stood between the two of them.
“Where is the birthday girl?” JJ intervened before Spencer could say anything. “Spence, take the cake out to the yard.”
Spencer huffed like a child, JJ half expected him to stamp his foot. But he did as he was told and picked up the cake, retreating back outside.
“Bobby took the girls for ice cream. They're going to head over in a bit. She actually believes we aren’t doing anything for her on her birthday.” Maeve giggled. JJ did not.
JJ not so secretly harboured a lot of ill will towards Maeve for the pain she’d caused her best friend. She didn’t try to hide it, didn’t try to pretend to like her.
Even if Spencer wouldn’t admit how much Maeve’s infidelity had hurt him JJ could see right through him. And so she didn’t try to make a habit of hiding her disdain towards the other woman.
“Ok.” She replied, heading back towards the oven to put another batch of party food inside.
Maeve looked around uncomfortably, half wishing she’d come with Bobby and the girls and not on her own. Perhaps this whole party had been a terrible idea.
Nonetheless she found herself gravitating towards the yard where Spencer was straightening place settings that didn’t need straightening just to avoid going back in the house and talking to her.
He heard her step out onto the deck but refused to look up, instead kept focused on the table.
“The place looks great, Daisy is really going to love it.” She didn’t dare come closer, staying firmly on the decking.
“Glad you approve.” He scoffed.
“Spencer,” Maeve sighed. “Is it too much to ask for you to be civil for one day?”
His eyes suddenly snapped up at her, his movements halting.
“Was it too much to ask my wife not to cheat on me?” He bit back.
“I don’t know what else I can say for you to see how sorry I am. I tried to fix things, you’re the one who kicked me out. You’re the one who didn’t want to work on things.”
“What was there to work on?” He raised his voice. “You were fucking another man behind my back for three years, Maeve! You really think we could have come back from that?”
“I hurt you, I get it. And I am sorry for that, but at some point you have to get over it, Spencer!”
“You didn’t hurt me.” He rolled his eyes. “You hurt Daisy. You hurt Lily. You didn’t hurt me.”
The raised voices caught JJ’s attention. She sighed to herself as she set the oven timer, rounded the island once more and headed for the back door ready to break this up before the kids arrived.
She got halfway across the kitchen when she heard a tentative knock at the front door. She glanced back towards it before looking back at Spencer and Maeve.
Hopefully they could refrain from murdering each other while she answered the door.
With any luck it would be Will and the boys and hopefully Henry and Michael could cheer up their uncle Spencer.
She padded through the house towards the door as another gentle knock sounded. She unlocked it and opened it to see a slightly frightened young woman on the front porch.
You rolled your lip between your teeth as you took in the stunning blonde opening David Rossi’s front door.
Oh jeez, is that his ex? He never mentioned her being so pretty, you mentally cringed.
She smiled a beautiful and heart stopping smile at you as she held the door open.
“You must be Y/N?” She beamed, stepping aside. “Come in, please. Spence is in the backyard.”
Your stomach was coiling into knots as you entered the house, feeling sick about this whole situation. Your hands shook at your sides.
“It’s so nice to meet you, I’ve heard so much about you.” Her bright blue eyes sparkled and you felt utterly intimidated.
“You…you have?”
“Of course! Spencer can’t stop talking about you.” She laughed. “I’m JJ by the way.”
You felt the lead weight in your chest loosen, like you could breathe freely again.
JJ, she’s JJ. His friend from the BAU, not his ex-wife. Thank god.
“JJ! Sorry yes, Spencer has told me about you too. I’m sorry I thought you were his ex and it threw me a little.” You laughed too. “It’s so nice to…”
You trailed off when the sound of a woman yelling filtered through the house from the backyard. You and JJ exchanged a look as the shouting continued.
“Uh, that’s his ex.” JJ sighed. “Excuse me, I should see what’s going on.”
You watched JJ flee towards the back of the house and without really meaning to you followed her. Through the large open back doors you could see Spencer and his ex-wife in mid standoff.
His back was rigid, his face was bright red, the vein in his forehead pushing wildly and he had his hands clenched into fists.
Maeve didn’t look any more composed than he did, steam practically coming out of her ears.
“I swear to god, Spencer, you are such a child sometimes!” Maeve yelled, throwing her arms in the air.
“I’m a child? I’m a child?” He spat.
You and JJ stayed in the kitchen, JJ not wanting to get in the middle of this but also not wanting things to get any worse.
“Yes! You act like you’re fine and that my affair meant nothing to you but then you can’t be civil towards me for even a second. If it really meant so little to you then why do you have to behave like this?”
“Fine,” he snapped like a frayed cord. “You hurt me, is that what you want to hear?”
“I didn’t say that.” Maeve sighed loudly. “I just wish you would-”
“I would what? You wish I would, what? You hurt me, ok? You really fucking hurt me.” He cut her off, the pain she’d caused evident in his voice to all three of you.
Your stomach tightened again, not wanting to be privy to this conversation and clearly neither did JJ.
Maeve looked away from him, somewhere across the garden and her shoulders slumped.
“I…I’m sorry Spencer.” She lowered her voice.
“It’s too late for that. I loved what we had, I loved you! And you hurt me more than I ever thought it possible to be hurt. Are you happy now?” He shook his head angrily. “I wanted to pretend that you didn’t cut me up inside with what you did because it was easier to deal with. I act like I only care that you hurt the girls because if I have to dwell on the fact the love of my life was cheating on me for three years I may never make it out of bed in the morning!
Goddamnit Maeve, you fucking broke me. You broke me, ok? I will never be the same because of what you did to me. So I’m passive aggressive towards you because if I’m not I might just break down every time I have to look at you. You broke me. You broke my heart.”
As he said that you felt your own heart breaking. In your peripheral vision you saw JJ looking at you but you were staring right at the side of Spencer’s face.
And when his first tear escaped, so did your own.
“Y/N, I-”
“It’s fine. I’m fine.” You cut JJ off. “I should go.”
You turned on your heels away from the back door the second Spencer glanced away from Maeve. He saw JJ staring at him in disbelief first and then he saw the back of your retreating head.
“Y/N?” He wiped his eyes. “Y/N!”
He started after you and you quickened your pace through the house, desperate to get out of here before having him confront you.
But of course he caught up with you, just before you reached the front door you felt his hand around your wrist.
When he tugged you back to face him it was impossible to hide the fact you were crying.
“Y/N I…I didn’t mean for you to hear that.” He rolled his lip between his teeth guiltily.
“But I did hear it.” You sniffed. “I’m never going to be her am I?”
“It’s not like that.” He shook his head. “My feelings towards her are complicated. This whole thing is complicated.”
“Let me uncomplicate it then Spencer. I’m taking myself out of this equation. I’m walking away.” You wiped your eyes on the back of your hand.
“Please don’t do that. Let’s just talk about this, please?”
“There’s nothing to talk about. We want different things and you have very unresolved feelings for your ex. There is nothing left to say, Spencer. We don’t have the same idea of the future and maybe that’s because you can’t see yourself being with anyone but Maeve and I get it, you were together a long time. I just wish you’d been honest with me from the start. I wish I hadn’t had to witness the love of my life telling another woman she was his.” You turned away from him again to the door and threw it open.
“Y/N, just wait please I can…” he trailed off seeing a gaggle of teenagers skulking up Rossi’s driveway towards the house.
With everything going on he had almost forgotten about the party.
It allowed you to make a break, weaving between the kids on the driveway and Spencer couldn’t stop you.
He plastered on a smile and welcomed Daisy’s school friends to Rossi’s home whilst watching you disappear.
And there was absolutely nothing he could do about it.
***
He watched Daisy and the beautiful, bright smile on her face from the kitchen window, arms folded across his chest and just trying to drink it all in.
The teens had the run of Rossi’s backyard, the adults relegated to the house to allow them some freedom. Music blared from a series of smart speakers which Spencer had no idea how they worked.
But the kids seemed to enjoy it.
Daisy was sitting on the edge of the pool, a blonde girl sitting by her side as they chatted and the smile that encompassed his daughter's face told him that girl was Meredith aka the most popular girl at Daisy’s school.
He tried to ignore the way his blood froze in his veins due to the fact his fourteen year old little girl was wearing a bathing suit with teenage boys in the vicinity.
Her cast had been removed a few days ago, just in time for the party. He was glad she’d healed but also kind of wished she’d had it in a little longer and then at least she might not have been able to swim and therefore wouldn’t be in a damn bathing suit.
It only really occurred to him as he watched her how grown up she had become. In his mind's eye she was still a little girl, the same little girl who loved ponies and came running to her dad when she was hurt.
Lily still did, still looked at him like he hung the moon. But it wouldn’t be long before she was a teenager too and pushing her dad away.
He still remembered the day Daisy was born as though it could have only been yesterday and now she was turning fourteen. She’d be going off to college in the blink of an eye, moving out and forging her own life. And surely it wouldn’t be all that long before Lily was doing the same.
He’d been a father for so long now he didn’t know what he would do with himself when they grew up and he became obsolete. Who was Spencer Reid without his girls?
He continued watching his eldest daughter, partly because he wanted to feel included in her life and partly because he was avoiding Maeve like the plague.
He felt a presence enter the kitchen and he prayed that it wasn’t his ex. His company sidled up next to him and he glanced at them, breathing a sigh of relief that it wasn’t Maeve.
“Is it too much to ask to keep them young forever?” Spencer spoke wistfully, looking back at his daughter.
“Tell me about it,” Matt chuckled dryly. “My eldest is twelve now and I just can’t comprehend how that happened.”
“I swear it was just yesterday I was bringing her home from the hospital.”
“Yeah I know that feeling.” Matt patted Spencer’s shoulder. “Just be grateful for the time you still have with Lily before she becomes a teenager too.”
The tone in Matt’s voice was almost pitiful and Spencer turned away from the window to look at him.
“You spoke to JJ.” He frowned at the older man.
“She might have mentioned an altercation.” Matt shrugged. “I assume that’s why you’re avoiding Maeve more than usual.”
“My daughter's birthday was not the place I imagined my repressed feelings coming to the surface.” He sighed. “Not that I imagined them ever doing so.”
“And in front of your girlfriend too. That’s rough.” Matt offered him a sympathetic smile.
“I’m almost positive she’s not going to be my girlfriend after today.”
“Oh man, I’m sure you’ll-”
“Dad!” Daisy’s slightly frustrated voice cut Matt off.
Spencer spun around to face his daughter who was now in the kitchen, hands on her hips and glaring at her father.
“What is it, pumpkin?”
Daisy’s cheeks flushed pink and she glanced to her side where the blonde girl was standing, giggling under her breath.
“Gross, don’t call me that.” Daisy rolled her eyes.
Spencer pouted, her harsh tone hitting him straight in the chest. He’d called both of his girls pumpkin since they were babies and Daisy had never minded before.
“Uh…what’s up, Daisy?” He tried again.
“Can you change the music? My friends don’t want to listen to this old man stuff.” She huffed in such a sassy way Spencer wasn’t even sure he recognised this girl as his daughter.
He frowned, tuning his ears into the music and noting a Frank Sinatra classic was playing through the speakers.
It was a great song, but probably not to a fourteen year old.
“I’ll sort it.” Matt spoke with a smile.
“Thanks uncle Matt.” Daisy smiled at him before the two girls turned and started back towards the yard.
Spencer watched the blonde link her arm through Daisy’s as they walked.
“Your uncle is so hot.” Meredith’s voice carried towards them.
Spencer grimaced and Matt chuckled. Spencer shot him a look.
“What?” Matt shrugged. “I can’t help it.”
As the two girls headed into the yard, Meredith’s voice met their ears again.
“Your dads kinda creepy though. He’s been watching us through the window for ages.”
“I know right.” Daisy replied.
Spencer slapped the palm of his hand against his forehead and grumbled under his breath.
“This is the worst goddamn day of my life.” Spencer groaned.
Matt laughed again and clapped a hand on his shoulder.
“No one ever said raising a teenager was easy.”
“No kidding.” Spencer mumbled, following on Matt’s heels as he went to change the music.
***
Two hours passed and the teens had well and truly taken over Rossi’s yard. The older man spent most of the day in the armchair in the corner of the grand living room sipping scotch and trying to pretend the kids weren’t going to destroy his house.
Spencer kept himself out of the kitchen, not wanting his daughter or her friends to see him as creepy as Meredith had so kindly labelled him.
Instead every fifteen minutes he sent another member of the BAU to the kitchen for something innocuous so they could subtly check on the teens.
Maeve kept her distant but he still caught her looking his way every so often. He tried to ignore her the best he could, knowing no good could come of talking to her.
Lily flitted about the room, dividing her time between her parents and all her aunts and uncles as Daisy had strictly told her mother that Lily was not allowed anywhere near her party.
He excused himself from the room after a while and headed upstairs to make a call. He knew you wouldn’t answer but it didn’t stop him trying.
As expected he got your voicemail and left a long rambling message about how sorry he was for what you’d overheard and how he wanted to explain. He begged you to call him back but wouldn’t be surprised if you didn’t.
When he was about to head back downstairs, he saw her heading his way and he honestly wanted to throw himself over the railing and straight into Rossi’s marbled floor below.
Anything was better than talking to her.
“Daisy wants her cake and I knew you wouldn’t want to miss it.” Maeve had her hands in the pockets of her summer dress and she shrugged her shoulders.
“Ok, thanks. I was just coming.” He nodded.
“No sarcastic response? No passive aggressive comment?” Maeve frowned.
Spencer sighed loudly, shaking his head.
“I’m so tired, Maeve.” He ran his tongue along his bottom lip. “I am exhausted with it all. I can’t keep fighting all the time.”
Her frown deepened. She was fairly sceptical, and with good reason. For the last year all Spencer had wanted to do was fight, he almost seemed to enjoy it.
“You don’t want to fight?”
“I don’t have the energy to fight.” He shrugged. “We’re never going to be friends or anything like that, but I’m not fighting anymore. It takes too much out of me. You’re the mother of my children, you’re always going to be a part of my life whether I like it or not.”
“I appreciate that.” Maeve softened, smiling gently.
“It’s not for your benefit.” He scoffed.
“Well that was short lived.” Maeve rolled her eyes, turning away from him and heading towards the staircase.
“I’m trying.” He called after her, stopping her in her tracks. “I’m not saying it’s going to change overnight but I am trying.”
She didn’t turn back to him, but she nodded her head as she started down the stairs.
***
“This has honestly been the worst day ever.” Spencer slurred slightly, waving his glass around and spilling some of the contents over his shirt sleeve.
“Should we cut him off?” Luke whispered to Penelope who was sitting on his left.
The party had been over hours ago and all the children had since left, leaving Spencer and his old BAU team to drink in Rossi’s trashed yard.
Daisy had a wonderful birthday and that was the most important thing to Spencer. The second most important thing was the fact he had royally messed things up with you.
The moment he’d seen Daisy and Lily off with their mother he’d poured himself a giant glass of scotch in lieu of going home alone. Taco was at the kennel for the night so he had no need to go home.
At this point he was well over half way through the bottle.
“I think he needs this.” Garcia shrugged sadly.
“I fucked up with Y/N. She’s never going to talk to me again! What the fuck was I thinking?” He groaned loudly, splashing more alcohol down himself as he gesticulated.
“It was probably time you finally faced your feelings over your divorce, kid.” Rossi sipped his drink. “Divorce is hard, it’s a shit thing to go through. Trust me, I would know.”
“You know what’s dumb though? Really fucking dumb considering I’m supposed to be a genius?” He paused to sip his drink. “I honestly didn’t think I was in love with Maeve. Not until she told me she’d cheated. And it felt like my whole fucking world crumbled around me.”
At least he had stopped crying. For at least an hour he’d sobbed and JJ, Garcia, Emily and Tara took turns holding him while he wept.
They would all take him angrily ranting over crying any day.
“Have you considered seeing a therapist?” Tara threw out the question on everyone’s lips.
“What would I do that for?” He frowned, trying to focus on her but his eyes were misty from the alcohol.
“Clearly you have a lot of unresolved issues.” Tara replied and that was putting it nicely. “I think talking to a therapist will really help.”
“No, not gonna happen.” He was scrambling to get out of the lawn chair and failing miserably.
JJ rolled her eyes and got up, wrapping her arm around his waist and helping him to his feet.
“Where are you trying to go?” She asked, keeping an arm around him in case he fell over.
“I…I don’t know.” He pouted.
“May I suggest bed?” Emily piped up. “Sleep it off Reid.”
“Yeah I’ve got plenty of room.” Rossi waved a hand in the general direction of the house.
“Hmm good idea.” He nodded, leaning his weight against JJ. Seconds later he pulled away, his face drained of colour. “Oh fuck…gonna puke.”
Maybe it was her mothering instinct but JJ jumped into action and managed to speedily help Spencer inside to the kitchen sink, just in time for him to violently spill his guts.
The sounds emanating from him echoed around the room and into the yard. JJ stroked his back soothingly while he vomited profusely.
“I think that’s my cue to leave.” Matt downed his drink and stood up.
The rest of the team silently agreed, finishing their own drinks and meandering into the house.
Rossi saw them off, Matt and Tara who had only indulged in one drink each got in their cars while Garcia, Luke and Emily shared a cab toward their own homes.
Spencer spent a long time being sick in the sink before he finally stood back and JJ handed him a glass of water. He leant against the counter and sipped it slowly.
Rossi had taken his leave to bed, not much wanting to clean up after Spencer.
“I’m sorry. You really don’t have to look after me.” He grumbled.
“But I’m gonna do it anyway.” She smiled at him. “Let me help you upstairs. I think I’ll stay the night too. I don’t feel comfortable leaving you like this.”
She thought he might argue but he honestly didn’t have the strength to. Instead he heaved a sigh and nodded.
He finished the water and JJ aided him to one of Rossi’s guest rooms with an arm around his waist. He flopped to the bed fully dressed and on top of the covers.
He was asleep within seconds.
JJ quietly retreated from the room and made her way to the other guest bedroom whilst sending Will a text to let him know she wouldn’t be home.
She got into bed, her heart aching for her best friend. She’d never seen him like this before, not even in the aftermath of Maeve’s affair.
She’d always known it would come bubbling to the surface one day, pain needed to be felt one way or another. But now he’d unlocked that particular box she feared he may never come back from it.
The beast had been unleashed and if Spencer didn’t find a healthy way to cope with his demons, she knew it would ultimately be his demise.
***
When Spencer finally surfaced around midday he looked about as bad as JJ expected him to. He still wore yesterday's clothes, now wrinkled from being slept in.
She’d spent the morning helping Rossi clean his house of the mess from the party and both of them were sipping coffee at the kitchen island when Spencer emerged.
“Morning, how are you feeling?” JJ asked.
He went straight to the sink, poured a glass of water and downed it in one before he could speak.
“Like I drank an entire brewery, screamed at my ex-wife and destroyed my relationship.” He croaked. “Pretty impressive for one night.”
“I know this isn’t what you’re gonna want to hear but you’ve been bottling up your feelings for Maeve for over a year, it was bound to come out.” Rossi shrugged.
Spencer grumbled a little, padding to the chair on the other side of the counter and slumping into it.
“You know I sometimes still picture her at the house.” He sighed deeply. “Like I close my eyes and I can sense her you know? Hear her in the kitchen when I come home from work, hear her reading to the girls, taking a shower or whatever. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night because I swear I can smell her shampoo on the pillow.”
JJ reached across the counter and placed her hand on top of his as his eyes glazed over with tears. She didn’t talk and so he continued.
“I did love her, I still do. I don’t want to be with her anymore, not after what she did. But I miss her. I miss the life we used to have. But it makes me feel so stupid admitting as much when she made me feel like our life together meant nothing.” He dislodged his hand from under JJ’s and raked his fingers through his knotted hair. “I really messed up with Y/N. There’s no coming back from this.”
“You’ll figure it out. You’re a genius after all.” She smiled softly at him. “You ok to drive home?”
“Yeah I’ll be fine. Thanks for letting me throw the party here Dave and for letting me crash.”
“No problem, kid. Get home safe.”
JJ and Spencer got to their feet and said their goodbyes to Rossi. They headed to their cars but before they went their separate ways he threw his arms around her.
He held her for a long few minutes, trying to communicate without the use of words just how much her friendship meant to him.
Eventually he let go and they got into their respective cars.
Spencer drove out and collected Taco from the kennel before making the pilgrimage out to his home in the suburbs.
Once he got home he forced himself to shower and change even though his head was pounding from last night's alcohol. Something had to give. He couldn’t keep living like this.
His alcohol use was becoming unhealthy and it was a slippery slope into addiction, as he knew all too well.
After he was dressed he collected every single bottle of alcohol in his house and without a second thought he poured it all down the drain. Out of sight, out of mind.
He fed Taco and let him play in the yard while he sat in his office with a large mug of coffee. He switched on his computer and started Googling realtors in the area.
He knew he’d never be able to move on whilst living in this house. He didn’t want to go far, didn’t want to pull his girls out of their school and away from their friends but he couldn’t stay in this place any longer.
He sent off some emails enquiring about having his home valued and specifications of what he was looking for in a new house.
He knew he needed to go out but he was purposefully putting it off, finding anything to distract himself from what he needed to do.
He even sat and watched Taco roam the yard for at least half an hour, just to avoid the inevitable.
But he needed to do this. He needed to face this.
Eventually, several hours after he arrived home, he forced his feet in his shoes and grabbed his car keys. Hopefully Taco wouldn’t cause too much of a nuisance while he was gone.
He jumped in his car and started his journey into DC, knowing full well that nothing he could say would make this better.
It was time to face the music.

Fall From Grace - Lucifer x Fallen Angel! Reader - Ch. 1
Summary : You fell from Heaven simply for showing compassion towards Demons. You felt as if you had nothing left worth fighting for. However, after being shown kindness from the residents of the hotel and Lucifer, you come to the realization that you have a new home to fight for—a new family to protect.
Ch. 2
I wanted to believe that this was all just a bad dream; something that could never actually happen to someone like me. All I ever wanted was to protect everyone; to do what was best for everyone. I tried to hold onto that belief until the very end. However, once my body hit the hard, cold ground I felt something entirely new; pain and betrayal. Is this the pain of a sinner? No… there had to be another reason, right? Perhaps I had a purpose to serve here?
“Oh my gosh, are you okay?” A soft, yet panicked voice entered my ears.
I opened my eyes and took notice of a girl with rosy cheeks peering down at me, worry evident on her face. My eyes widened, tears threatening to fall as I took notice of who the girl before me actually was.
“You’re,” I paused for a second, struggling to push myself into a sitting position, “Lucifer’s daughter, aren’t you?”
Earlier that morning.
“Emily?” I knocked on the girl’s door rather softly, feeling a bit nervous.“Are you in there?”
“Oooh, uhh yeah sure am!” she replied, her voice sounding cheerful, yet a bit off.
“Are you going to the meeting today?” I asked, nervously rubbing the side of my arm. “Sera said it was really important. She said all high ranking angels needed to be present.”
“Oh, no I don’t think so I’ve been pretty busy,” she replied hastily behind the door. “You know, being joyous and all that ahahaha.”
“Why haven’t you been answering my calls?” I asked rather bluntly, a pit forming in my stomach. “You don’t seem like you’ve been yourself lately. Actually, I haven’t even seen you at all lately. Are you okay?”
I hadn’t really spoken to Emily in over a month; which was weird since we were pretty close. It wasn’t like her to not share things with me, or for her to be distant. For the most part she was like an open book, always eager to share everything. She shared the good, the bad, and the in between. What on earth was she hiding?
“I’m doing just fine!” She spouted.
“Okay, um…” I paused, biting my lip, “Actually, I came here because I wanted to talk to you.”
“Now really isn’t a good time,” she said, her voice sounding surprisingly blunt.
“Emily, are you avoiding me?” I felt my stomach churn. Was there more of a reason as to why she had been avoiding me for so long? “Did I do something wrong?”
“Of course not!”
“Then can I please come in for just a few minutes?“ I asked. “I really need someone to talk to.”
“I….” She trailed off. “Yeah, but can you keep a secret?”
“Yeah, of course,” I replied, trying to hide the overwhelming curiosity that suddenly enveloped me. Normally, she isn’t hesitant to tell me something. I knew it must have been really important.
She opened the door, revealing a tall, snake-like angel standing next to her. She quickly shut the door behind me, putting a finger to her lips, signaling for me to keep my voice down.
“Hello,” I said, very confused. “Are you…Emily’s boyfriend?”
“No, I already have relations with another female…” the snake said, sounding slightly offended by my comment. “I think.”
“Sir Pentious is… a reformed sinner.” Emily stated. “He rose from Hell and made it to Heaven.”
“A reformed sinner?” I asked, excitement filling my voice. “Wow, I didn’t know such a thing was possible!”
“Haha, yeah,” Emily said, using her hand to signal me to calm down. “But Sera sees him as a threat, so he’s been under my protection.”
“But he was sent to heaven for a reason. I mean he passed judgment..” I replied, widening my eyes. “What reason does Sera have to question him? Isn’t this a wonderful thing that should be celebrated?” I shook my head in disbelief. “But Sera always looks out for her people…Isn’t he one of the souls to protect now? Isn’t more souls making it into Heaven a good thing?”
“I have a lot to tell you…” Emily said, earning a nervous laugh from the snake.
Emily then proceeded to explain what happened down in hell, and how Sir Pentious seemed to have been redeemed by protecting his friends. She then gave me all the details about the court trial that Lucifer’s daughter, Charlie had attended to try to convince heaven that sinners deserved a second chance. Though Sera and the others deemed that there wasn’t any proof that sinners could be redeemed, Sir Pentious blew her argument right out the window soon after the trial. He was the key to a better future for Heaven and Hell. However, after the sinners exterminated the angels instead, there would be further division between Heaven and Hell.
“I… had no idea about the exterminations,” I sighed. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
“I feel…ashamed…” She said, sounding defeated. “I was looking for the right time to tell you after I found out, trying to come up with a solution before I dumped all this on you. Then a month went by and…I couldn’t think of a thing. I felt useless.”
“So, you didn’t know all along?”
“Of course not…” she paused for a moment. “You noticed that my smile wasn’t the same, didn’t you?”
“I did,” I said with a nod.
“I’m having a hard time believing in anyone, or anything after what happened,” Emily said, crossing her arms and looking away in shame.
“Emily…” I placed my hand upon her shoulder, causing her eyes to meet mine.
“His daughter was so kind and was fighting to protect her people. She gave up everything. Even though some of our people fell, they…” Emily stopped what she was about to say, shaking her head furiously. “I’m scared of falling, but how can I pretend like everything's okay when so many souls are suffering?”
I noticed the tears threatening to fall from her eyes, which broke my heart. Emily was such a kind, forgiving soul. Though I didn’t know all that much about what went on in hell, I knew a lot of them had done pretty bad things. However, they had every right to defend themselves during the extermination.
“It will be okay,” I replied softly. “You’ve spent so much time lifting everyone else up. You’re not alone. I’m here for you.”
“I-I am as well,”Sir Pentious said. “She’s protected me thus far, I’m willing to do the same. I also want to find a way to protect my friends down below.”
“We’ll all think of something together,” I said. “With us three together, surely we’ll find a way to make things better for everyone, including the sinners.”
“Y/N…”
Present
“That’s right,” she replied. “You’ve heard of the hotel, right?” Charlie asked, excitement filling her voice. “Well, the new hotel since the other one got destroyed and all that. Ahahaha..” She said, sounding a bit nervous.
“I have,” I replied bluntly, not really sure how to react in this situation.
I tried to get up, but found it a bit difficult lifting myself off the ground. I had fallen just moments before the girl appeared before me, so my body wasn’t in the best shape.
“Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry,” Charlie said, scrambling over to me without hesitation. “Here I was rambling all about my hotel when you’re hurt.” She threw me over her shoulder, supporting my weight and helping me to stand.
“It’s okay. Thank you,” I replied softly, my voice remaining dull. “Your hotel sounds nice..” I trailed off.
“Alright, then let’s go!” Charlie exclaimed.
My eyes widened a bit as the girl supporting my weight began to walk. I followed her lead quietly, quite sure she was taking me to the hotel she had been raving about. Who was I to complain? It wasn’t like someone like me had any idea where to go, or where to even start in a world like this.
She pulled me along with her through the streets of hell. I had never seen anything like it before. Red stained the streets, both from the hue of the sky and blood from sinners. Even though I had believed redemption was a good thing, never did I imagine that the sinners down here would be this violent. Tearing each other apart relentlessly as if it were a game or something. Despite everything, a smile remained upon her face as she dragged me along, talking to me about her hotel as if everything was great. How could someone like her remain so cheerful in a place like this?
Soon enough, the girl with rosy cheeks stopped in front of a large, tall building I assumed to be the hotel. Though it seemed rather dark compared to the structures I had seen in Heaven, it seemed much more tidy and welcoming than the buildings I had seen along this way. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad?
“Oh Okay!” Charlie exclaimed, pushing the front door open rather agressively. “Welcome to the Hazbin Hotel!” She threw her arms out, standing in front of me and showing off in the lobby of the building.
I looked around, noticing a bar up front, a lobby with furniture, and plenty of decorations adoring the walls. Though it seemed fixed up pretty well, the hotel seemed rather quiet and vacant. I raised an eyebrow, nervously brushing a strand of hair behind my ear as I forced a smile.
“Yeah, so most of our other guests are out right now” she said, her excitement dying down a bit. “Come on, I have a room you can move into right away. I’ll show you around, then you can get settled in.”
After Charlie showed me around the hotel, she introduced me to my room. Even though the girl seemed a bit dense, it appeared she picked up on the fact that I had become increasingly overwhelmed. She left me to get settled into my room, claiming that she had business to attend to. She seemed like a really bad liar.
It wasn't that I didn’t like the hotel or her; in fact I thought she was a very kind person, and I had believed that the hotel was a lovely idea when Emily had told me about it. However, I was still very confused about my situation. Why did I end up here?
I stumbled into the bathroom, a heavy sigh escaping my lips. I immediately went to turn on the faucet, then noticed that my hands looked different. I pulled my head up, immediately meeting my own eyes in the mirror. This was… me?
Even though my face remained relatively the same, I did have demonic features appear on my body. I took notice of horns, sharper teeth, and my pupils glowing red. I shook my head, tears falling from my eyes.
“This isn't me! I didn’t do anything wrong!” I screamed at the top of my lungs, my knees falling to the floor.
It wasn’t that I had forgotten what had happened to me; it was that until that very moment I was in denial. I tried to gaslight myself into believing that I had been sent here for another reason; that the home I had lived in my entire life hadn’t betrayed me over standing up for something I believe in.
Earlier
I stumbled into the meeting room, the other angels’ eyes immediately meeting my form. I tried to ignore the attention, making my way over to my seat quietly.
“Where’s Emily?” Sera asked, her gaze meeting mine.
“I tried to get her to come, that’s why I’m a bit late,” I laughed nervously. “But she said she couldn’t..”
“Well, thank you for trying,” Sera said. “However, if Emily doesn’t step up and continue her duties soon, we’re going to need a replacement. We have to keep heaven safe.”
“Sera, she–”
“Ahem,” Sera said, cutting me off. “Since most of you are present, we have important things to discuss. I’m sure you all have noticed that our numbers have gone down.”
I quieted down, my eyes wandering around the room. The other Angels whispered quietly at Sera’s words. I bit my lip nervously, hoping this wasn’t going where I thought it was.
“Hell has threatened Heaven and we must protect ourselves at all costs,” Sera said bluntly. “They killed Adam and many of our other residents. We cannot allow this to continue.”
Whispers flooded the room once again, all the Angels looking around rather frightened. My hands began to shake and I felt anger envelope me. I tried so hard to bite my tongue, but I just couldn’t. I didn’t care if this got me in trouble; this wasn’t right.
“Sera, that’s not the whole story,” I stated rather bluntly.“Did you tell them about the exterminations?”
“Y/N,” Sera scolded.
“Look, Heaven has been killing demons once a year for a long time,” I said, my eyes wandering around the room, taking notice of the Angels’ surprised expressions. “I know a lot of you probably already knew that.”
“Y/N, calm down,” Sera said. “This is no place for this. If you don’t stop you’re going to have to leave.”
“If you were in Hell and armies of Angels came down to kill you, would you not defend yourself?” I yelled across the room. “Would you just stand by and take it?” I pleaded, trying to get through to the other Angels. “Don’t you all see? War just brings nothing but pain between Heaven and Hell. We need to find a better way!”
“Y/N, if you don’t stop this now—”
“What? I’m going to fall or some shit?” I spat, slamming my hands on the table. “I don’t fucking care anymore!” I crossed my arms. “Heaven is supposed to be a place for peace, forgiveness, and kindness, but we’ve just become murderers—we’re like Demons ourselves!”
“Y/N, please stop,” Sera pleaded, holding out her arms.
“Heaven is a lie. Adam got exactly what he deserved,” I said. “I won’t believe any more lies, and neither should any of you.”
The Angels in attendance began bickering throughout the room. There were so many voices I could barely understand what they were saying. I looked towards Sera, giving her a pleading look. She turned away quietly, not saying a word.
“Sera, surely you’re not going to put up with this, are you?” Lute said, entering the meeting room.
My eyes wandered to the new attendant. Her gaze met mine, her eyes full of hatred.
“Lute, I thought you were in recovery,” Sera replied.
“We lost so many people trying to protect Heaven, including our leader,” Lute said. “Why should we take the side of Demons? They had their chance and look at what they’ve done.”
Lute signaled towards her arm, earning gasps from the other Angels. I bit my lip, my eyes becoming hazy. I couldn’t let her win them over like this.
“Sera, she—”
“She has betrayed us. She has no right to be here,” Lute cut me off. “Sera, you know what you have to do to protect Heaven.”
Present
I continued to sob into my hands, my knees on the floor. I had broken down—I couldn’t control myself. The anger I had previously felt had turned into sorrow. All of my hope, shattered into a million pieces. I tried to do the right thing, and look where it got me—Hell.
“Hey, hey are you okay?” I heard a soft voice in my ear, then I felt a hand lightly grip my shoulders.
I shook my head vigorously, afraid of showing my face. Surely I looked like a total, pathetic mess. I tried to pull away, but they wouldn’t budge. Then, I felt a pair of hands pull my hands away from my face. I lifted my head slowly, assuming I’d see Charlie, then I noticed that it wasn’t even her. Was I so out of it I didn’t notice?
“H-huh?” I sniffled, quickly wiping the tears from my eyes as I took notice of the man leaning in front of me.
“You’re the new resident, huh?” he asked. “Charlie told me not to disturb you right now, but I heard yelling so I let myself in…”
I stared for a moment, not really sure what to think. The man before me seemed rather kind hearted at a glance. Surely this wasn’t the man that was claimed to be the most hated being? However, the red markings on his cheeks made him unmistakable. Charlie was a spitting image of her father.
“You’re Lucifer?” I asked, shock evident within my voice as I continued to stare.
“Y-yeah, that’s me,” he sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck, seemingly a bit uncomfortable by my staring.
I quickly stood up, brushing myself off, turning my face in the other direction. It had just sunk in that I had broken down into a crying fit in front of the King of Hell; the most powerful Demon in Hell.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to be weird, I’m just a bit overwhelmed is all,” I replied. “It’s been a long day.”
“Did it hurt when you fell from Heaven?” he suddenly asked, standing up as well.
“W-what?” I looked towards him rather quickly, feeling a bit embarrassed and caught off guard.
“O-oh,” he replied, face palming. “See, I didn’t even mean it like that. That’s a um… a phrase, but what I meant was I get Heaven vibes from you, and I would know since I fell too and all that… oh and it hurt…haha…” He trailed off, laughing nervously.
“Ohh,” I laughed softly.
“Hey, laughing is better even if it’s at me I guess,” he replied, shrugging his shoulders.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to,” I replied.
“Come on, Charlie and I can introduce you to the rest of the guests,” he held out a hand to me. “Though, I must warn you a few of them are pretty weird.”
“Hey um….” I started. “Is it okay…that I’m an Angel?”
“Darling, you aren’t the first or the second fallen Angel down here, or even in this hotel,” he said. “You’ll be just fine.”
Then, I reached out and took his hand.
At that moment I realized something—Hell wasn’t as bad as I had previously thought. Hell was full of some bad people, that was a certain fact, but not all of them were entirely bad—they had good in them. If Sir Pentious could be redeemed, surely Charlie’s plan could do some good. Maybe me falling from Heaven could lead to something good. Before I fell, I believed that I could help Emily come up with a plan to bring Heaven and Hell together, but maybe me being down here in direct contact with the hotel could help in the long run. Perhaps if I hold onto hope for just a bit longer, everything will be okay? Maybe it was fate that I fell from grace.

Being an artist in New York was a tough job, a city where everyone wanted the same thing- opportunity. In the beginning, you had a bit of a tough run with selling your pieces, you wanted people to buy them because they loved your art and not because of the connections to your well-known father. You loved your dad, but you wanted to do this on your own. You wanted your gallery to be something that you made, not your father.
So after a couple of years, spending hundreds of hours curating your artwork, you were finally able to display them in a mini store that you converted into a gallery.
You have only been open one day and things were already flying off the shelves, selling your most loved artwork for thousands of dollars apiece.
Today, your boyfriend of six months, will finally be meeting your dad at your gallery. You wanted to share this special time with the two people that meant the most to you. Unlocking the doors, your arm linked into Matt’s, leading him through the shop of your most prized work.
“Pass your hand.” You say sweetly, taking his hand in yours. Laying it flat against the canvas on the wall, directing his hand to brush along the mixed media. “You inspired me for this one.” You smile. “If you feel here. There’s a message… I indented the canvas to make braille, and if I got it right… it should say something.” Watching the way his lips turned into a smile.
The bell rings at the door, immediately diverting your attention. “Hello princess.” Your dad greets you, pulling you in for a hug.
“Hi.” You smile, pulling apart to introduce your boyfriend who was looking around uneasily. “Dad, this is Matt, Matt, this is my dad.” You sweetly grin, looking between them with gleaming eyes.
“Pleasure.” He greets your boyfriend, firmly shaking Matt’s hand.
“Good to meet you, sir.” Matt smiles forcefully.
Excitedly screeching, gazing between the two. “Okay- I can’t wait anymore, let me show you around.” Grabbing Matt’s hand to lead him. “Dad follow me.”
You showed them throughout the whole gallery, talking endlessly about the inspiration behind each piece of work, chatting their ears off about every detail.
“Excuse me one moment.” Your dad announces, walking into the back room to answer his phone call.
Matt inconspicuously pulls you aside now that it was just the two of you. “You never told me his name…” Matt quietly asks.
“Oh my goodness- sorry, I completely forgot. It’s Wilson. Sorry, that must’ve been really uncomfortable.” You apologise, placing a sweet kiss on Matt’s now tense cheek. “Are you sure you’re okay?”
“Yeah- I’m fine. Just you know, meeting your dad.” He partially lies.
“I’m sorry princess, I’ve got to go.” Wilson enters the room, glancing between you and Matt with questioning eyes. His stare penetrated the side of Matt’s face.
“Dad?” You warned, disguising it with a cough. Noticing the way he was looking at Matt.
“Right. I’ll see you soon.” He kisses your cheek before leaving. “If you hurt my little girl…” he turns around to warn, focusing in on your perturbed boyfriend.
-
Matt has been uneasy around you ever since the day at the gallery a few days ago. You thought it was because your dad frightened him with that scolding, but you didn’t know if it was just that or if there was something else to it. You haven’t seen him since then either, he avoided all your texts and calls, replying hours later with ‘sorry, I was on a case’ or ‘I couldn’t find my phone.’
You had spent the day at your gallery doing inventory and rearranging pieces, quietly enjoying the day to yourself. Taking a seat on the sofa by the wide glass window, zoning out as you gaze at the busy city. Aimlessly scanning around until you notice something out the corner of your eye. It was a car you had seen dozens of times over the last couple of months. You tried not to look at it for too long, never wanting the person inside to acknowledge your awareness.
You picked up an art magazine from the coffee table, opening it and raising it to your face. Peeking your eyes over the top to get a better look at the number plate, and to no surprise, it was the same one you had been seeing everywhere.
Startling yourself when the door opens, the bell ringing obnoxiously. Dropping the magazine, you see your father by the entrance with a solemn expression.
“You okay?” You ask nervously, walking over to him.
“I have some news.” He frowns, gesturing for you to take a seat.
“What is it? You’re scaring me.” Scanning your dad's face for answers.
“I don’t want you to hate me...”
“I won’t, what’s up, tell me.” You push once more.
“I did some digging…” Wilson trails off.
“Yeah?”
“Your boyfriend…”
“What about him?” You snap, desperately needing answers.
“I’m afraid he’s not someone you should trust…Here…” Pulling out his phone to show you a clip.
Staring at the video confused. “I don’t get it- what is it?” Darting your eyes between him and the screen.
“That’s… Daredevil.”
“Yeah, so?”
“That’s your boyfriend…” he says slowly. Masking his lies.
“No, it’s not.” Shaking your head.
“It is. ‘The devil of Hell’s Kitchen’ or whatever he calls himself. He’s a vigilante… and he’s dangerous… he…” he starts.
“‘He’ what?”
“It’s too much...” He closes his eyes, avoiding your surveying gaze.
“Please just tell me.” You plead.
“He… killed your mother.” Intensely staring at the floor.
“What-? Why are you telling me this?” Walking away in disbelief, pacing around. “Why would you say that?”
“There are more videos.” Extending his phone.
“No! I don’t want to see it. How can he do that? Seriously, how? He’s blind.” You defend.
“He was lying about that… it was a cover.”
“Let me see the video.” You demand, snatching the phone from his hand.
Anxiously fiddling with the hem of your dress as you watched the clip of your boyfriend in the red suit. You couldn’t believe your eyes- you didn’t want to believe them.
“I’ve seen enough.” Sliding the phone along the coffee table.
“I’m sorry. I’ll get out of the way.” He frowns, sitting up and leaving without a single look back.
-
You had decided to close the shop early, feeling too confused to want to be anywhere but home. Right now you wanted nothing more than to slump into the couch and watch shitty tv with a big bag of chips.
When you return to your apartment building, panic settles in when you notice the car again. Unlocking the door with shaky hands, trying your best to keep them still.
“Allow me.” A male voice says from behind. Immediately shuddering and dropping the keys.
“I’m sorry.” Turning around to look at the man. “Just a long day.”
“I’m sorry, that must’ve been really hard.”
“Yeah.” You exhale, disguising it in a laugh. “Thanks” taking the keys from his hand. “Do you- uh, live around here?” You ask, anxiously looking around.
“No, I was here to see a friend. But I saw you struggling so had to help.” He smiles. “And you are…?”
Telling him your name with a friendly smile.
“I’m Dex.” Shaking your hand. “Good to meet you… I’ll uh- see you around.”
After a long hot bath and take-out dinner, you lump yourself onto the couch. Pulling out your phone to see numerous missed calls from Matt. Deciding not to engage, you place it aside.
Frantic knocks pound at your door that startle you upright. Quietly walking over, peeking through the peephole to see Matt anxiously pacing around.
“What?” You snap, whipping the door open.
“I came to see you… you wouldn’t answer my calls.” He gushes, smiling apologetically.
“Not so nice is it?” You say snidely.
“No-“
You cut him off. “I’m not in the mood right now. What do you want?”
“You scared me- you didn’t answer, I thought something bad had happened-” He continues, catching his breath.
Interrupting him again. “Are you actually blind?”
He flashes a confused look, head tilting to the side as if to understand you better. “Yes. Why would you ask that?”
“Wait a second- how did you get here?” You ask, finally putting the pieces together. “If you can’t see… then how did you run here?” You question with a stern whisper, not wanting your neighbours to hear.
“Can I come in?” He asks, avoiding your question.
“No, you can answer from out there.” Placing your hands over his chest to stop him from coming any further.
“What’s going on?” He questions, his face looking puzzled.
“Why don’t you tell me?”
“… I don’t know.”
“Who are you?”
His mouth opens but no words are made, gazing at you with his eyebrows furrowed. “What do you mean?” He snarks, walking past you and into your apartment.
“I didn’t say you can come in.” Forcefully closing the door to follow Matt into your living room.
“Where’s this coming from?” He sadly questions, taking a polite seat on your armchair.
“I saw my dad today…” you start.
He gives you a nod to tell you he’s listening.
“He told me something and… I don’t know.” Burying your head in your hands.
“What’s wrong?” He asks sweetly, rushing over to the seat next to you to console you. Gently stroking over your back.
“Please just tell me who you are.” You quietly ask, your words muffling against your palms.
He deeply sighs, brushing his spare hand through his hair. “I think you know...”
Your back stiffens and your neck twists around to stare holes into Matt’s closed eyes. “You’re ‘him’? You’re Daredevil?” You speak quietly as if to soften the blow. “He was right.” You mumble to yourself.
“Who was right?” He questions.
“My dad- he showed me a video… you’re the devil of Hell’s Kitchen? You killed my mom?” You ask, almost rhetorically.
“Wait a sec-“ he interjects. “I don’t kill anyone.” Shaking his head.
“So you are him?”
“Yeah- but that’s not me.” His face grimaces at the thought. “That’s why I’ve been busy…”
“What do you mean?” You ask warmly as if the haze was clearing and you could finally see a few pieces to the puzzle.
“Your dad… he showed you the clip?”
“Mhm.” You mumble, listening intently.
“Was the person in the suit wearing red?”
“Yeah, like a- like a dark red.” Ears pulling back with intrigue.
“I know this might not make any sense right now, but I need you to understand… I don’t wear that red suit anymore- not after midland circle. That person… he isn’t me.” His face looks as though he’s thinking. “Do you trust me?”
“Yes.” You reply instantly, not once giving it a second thought because it was the truth.
“I think your dad is framing me.”
“Why?”
“I think he knows who I am, and is setting me up.” Placing a gentle hand on your knee.
“Why would he do that?” You question.
“Because he’s not just a businessman.” He says, almost as if he’s regretting it already. Not wanting to ruin your perception of your father.
“What is he?” Searching his face for more answers.
“I can’t do that to you.” He says sadly, stroking your confused face. “Just… in your phone, type in ‘Kingpin, Hell’s Kitchen’.”
Immediately opening your phone, typing into the search engine, instantly overwhelmed by the dozens of articles. Clicking the top one, reading through an article from the New York Bulletin. Your eyes darting over the words, as your heart thumps in your chest.
Matt laces his hand into yours, stroking his thumb over your skin to calm you down.
“My dads a crimelord?” You question in almost disbelief.
“I’m sorry.” He emphatically comforts, hating the idea of you feeling betrayed by your father.
“How did you know?”
“I’ve been after him for years…“
“Is that why you’re with me?” You sadly ask, already thinking the worst.
“No.” He gushes, cupping your cheek. “God, no. I only found out at your gallery the other day.” He reassures, sweetly brushing over your cheek. “Please come and stay with me for a few days. I don’t think it’s safe here…”
“Can I ask you something?” You almost whisper. Mind is racing and struggling to keep up with everything that’s happened over the last few hours.
“Of course, anything.” Gently placing a stray strand of hair behind your ear and then cupping your jaw.
“If you’re daredevil- the real one… are you really blind? Or is that a cover?”
“I am blind, I lost my sight when I was nine.”
“You can say no, of course. But, I don’t think you’ve actually told me how you lost it. I don’t want to push you, and you can stop me from talking because I feel like I’m blabbering-“
Sweetly smiling at the way you were so considerate with your delivery. “No no, it’s okay.” He interrupts.
Matt thought it was finally time to give you a look into his past, telling you every minor and major event that has happened in his life. Stories about his dad, St Agnes, Maggie, his abilities, what he does as Daredevil, and even about Fisk.
-
Matt was waiting patiently on the couch while you finished packing your bags; throwing in anything and everything you might need over the next few days.
“I’m ready.” You smile, lugging your bags by the front door.
“You left a light on in there.” Nodding to your en-suite.
Rushing to the bathroom to flick the switch, returning with a grin. “That is amazing.”
Flashing you a wide grin in response, collecting the heaviest bag and throwing it over his shoulder.
When you exit the building, you do a quick look around the street, quickly observing everything. Across the road you spot the car again, squinting your eyes to double-check the number plate. Matt doesn’t know about your potential stalker, to be honest, you didn’t want to worry him. But now you know he’s capable, you decide to finally tell him.
Discreetly covering your mouth to hide what you were about to say. “Matt.” You whisper. “That car… I see it all the time.”
“What do you mean?” He asks, barely moving his lips as he purposely twisted his head to look around.
“I think it’s been following me.”
His face grows stern and rigid, looking as though he’s calculating the situation. Placing your bags to the floor, taking a step onto the sidewalk. Immediately grabbing his arm to stop him from walking any further.
“No- don’t go over.” You plead, trying your hardest to stop him freeing from your grip.
“Wait there.” He sweetly instructs, shaking himself from your grasp.
“No, I’m coming with you.” Chasing after him.
Matt pulls out his stick, tapping it against the ground as he walked down the street, looking around aimlessly until he ‘accidentally’ bumps into the car. The person inside slides down the window “watch it, man.”
“My apologies, I don’t suppose you know the way to Josie’s bar. It’s just… you know.” Raising his arm to show the man his cane.
Watching from the side, you see a familiar man in the wing mirror. Immediately walking over, following after your legs that had a mind of their own.
“Dex?” You question, head tilting to the side in confusion.
He coughs, lowering his cap to hide his face. Stammering on his words.
Matt’s ears pull back in concentration, listening intently. Reaching his hand inside the car, gripping Dex’s neck and yanking him towards the window. Hitting his head with his free hand, as he pulled him through the window and out of the car. “Who are you?” He demands, landing another strike to his face. Instead, he doesn’t do anything, he just tauntingly laughs, purposely trying to provoke Matt.
“Enough.” You shout, pulling Matt off Dex who was laughing hysterically on the floor, blood dripping from his cheek.
“What the fuck was that about?” You grit, ushering him away.
“That’s Special Agent Poindexter.” He starts. Straighten his tie and adjusting his glasses, linking his arm into yours, acting nonchalant.
“Am I supposed to know what that means?” You whisper shout, quickly looking over your shoulder check on Dex who was splayed out on the sidewalk.
“Fisk hired him. If I’m right, and I’m sure I am… he’s pretending to be me.” Leading you across the street, and back to your apartment building.
“Wait a second…” letting go of Matt’s arm and halting in your tracks.
“That video my dad showed me… it was a CCTV clip…” pausing as if to complete your thought. “It was outside of my mom’s house… and…” face contorting at the idea. “He had my mom killed?”
Tumblr media
sorry for the cliffhanger!! I wasn’t sure how to end this and was hoping that some of you guys could maybe give some ideas. I wasn’t quite sure what to do with Fisk and Dex, and how Matt would work into it. but if you have any ideas I’d love to hear them. I will be doing a part 2, just need some help from you angels first
I think it’s because I’ve been working on this so long my mind has turned to mush😭

AN: It's been a difficult couple of weeks, so I wrote myself some fluff. Maybe you're in need of fluff too. If so, enjoy!

“I shouldn’t be here, I’ve got a History test tomorrow that I haven’t even started to study for.”
“Well, I didn’t put you in a headlock,” Shirley pointed out, pinching cotton candy between her fingers before she popped it into her mouth. “Anyway, so you fail a test, are you telling me you wouldn’t regret missing out on seeing Elvis more?”
“I’m just thinking about when my parents find out and they ban me from coming out.”
Shirley, whose parents who paid little attention to what she did, just shrugged and sucked in more cotton candy. “Then you’ll just sneak out, right? Plenty of the kids do it.”
Tina knew that a lot of the girls wrapped their pillows in blankets and shimmied out of the window to get into cars that idled at the kerb a safe distance from their houses, but she felt a pang in her stomach at the thought of becoming one of them. She liked her parents, respected them, and had always liked being the daughter they wanted her to be, but ever since she had found herself outside the gates of Graceland a few months before, that girl had been drifting further and further away from her.
“So, what d’you want to do now?” she asked Shirley. They had already rode the Pippin and the Rocket and the dodgems were off limits for the moment while Elvis and his friends tried their best to kill one another. She didn’t even like watching them for too long, it made her hair stand on end the chances they took. If nothing else, it proved how blessed Elvis really was that no one had ever been seriously injured.
“Ferris Wheel?” Shirley shrugged, tossing the last of the cotton candy and wiping her fingers on her skirt. Tina nodded and sighed as they wandered over to the huge ride that loomed up into the night sky. She let her head tip back as she squinted up at the top where the carriages swung in the breeze and let out another sigh.
As they headed towards the booth that marked the entrance, something hit Tina hard between the shoulder blades and she stumbled forward, grabbing onto Shirley’s shoulder to stop herself from toppling onto the asphalt.
“Hey, dumbass, watch it!”
Both girls whirled round at the familiar voice just in time to see Elvis give his cousin Billy a swift kick in the pants that almost sent him sprawling. He turned back to the girls, eyes roaming all over as he asked if they were okay and apologising for his thoughtless cousin.
“No harm done!” Shirley chirped, even though she wasn’t the one that had been hit.
Tina had to crane her neck again as he stepped up to her, looking impossibly handsome with his gleaming black hair and white sports jacket. He was wearing some kind of hat that would have looked silly on anyone else, but whatever magic Elvis was encased in had swallowed up that hat too and it just added to his look. There was a smile glinting in his eyes even though he was affecting a concerned frown.
“Are you sure you’re okay, honey? I feel like I need to make it up to you.” He looked around, surveying the immediate area. “Let’s take us a ride on the Ferris wheel, I should keep an eye on you in case you got concussion or something.” She opened her mouth to explain that it was her back that got hit, but her brain managed to kick in before the words started to come out.
“You don’t mind, do you, darlin’, if I steal your friend for a while?” Shirley shook her head, her face glowing with her smile, but as soon as Elvis turned away, her expression became an Arctic glare at Tina.
In a daze, Tina let herself be led by the hand, perching onto the seat and clutching at the bar as it was pulled down. Elvis leant over and called over the ride operator, saying something to him before they were lifting up into the air.
Tina wasn’t sure what was more terrifying, being suspended at heights that would mean certain death or sitting alone next to Elvis Presley. It was probably a draw.
“So, you’re sure you’re okay?” Elvis said, lifting his arm over her head and laying it across the back of her seat. He shifted slightly towards her and the car swung wildly. Tina emitted a muted squeak and squeezed the bar tighter in her sweaty fingers. “Honey, you don’t have to be scared of me. I won’t hurt you.” Tina couldn’t even look at him, convinced that if she took her eyes off the ground that she was going to magically slip beneath the restraint and tumble out.
“It’s not you,” she managed through her clenched jaw.
“Aw hell, you scared of heights, honey?” He moved again, she presumed to try and meet her eye, and she whimpered, feeling the cold sweat prickling across her forehead. “Why didn’t you say nothing? You were heading this way, I thought-”
“I’m gonna beat it,” she replied, starting to nod but stopping because any movement felt like too much. “Every time I visit I make myself come up here and I- I’m gonna get used to it. And I won’t be afraid no more. I mean anymore.” Terror is no excuse for not speaking properly, she could hear her mother instructing her in that earnest way she did.
“I do the same thing,” Elvis answered, so softly that she forgot herself and glanced over in surprise. His eyes flicked from the ground to hers, filled with a tender glow that tricked her into smiling despite her unease. “You know, every time I walk out on a stage or onto a set over in Hollywood, I get so scared, my heart feels like it’s gonna pound right outta my chest and I get this energy in my arms and legs that I think is gonna fry all my circuits.” He laughed a little to himself. “But I keep on making myself do it, play the shows, say my lines, because it’s gonna get easier the more I do it. I mean, it has to, right?”
Tina took a deep breath, as much as she could with the tight band of fear around her chest, and fought against the pull to look back down at the ground, which she sensed was a dizzying distance away now.
“You’ve performed in so many shows now,” she said, her eyes fixed on those warm, gentle eyes, “has it gotten easier?”
“Sometimes I think it has,” he nodded. She heard what he was trying not to say and sighed again. “But- But facing an audience is something different than heights. Being up high, it’s gonna stay the same, right? No matter where you are, high is high. Every audience is different, just ‘cause you went over okay in one city don’t mean they’re gonna take to you the same in another. The changin’, that makes it hard to get used to. Heights though… You’ll crack it, honey, I know it.”
Tina’s smile was more genuine now, she could see how hard he was trying to comfort and distract her and she felt a little like that silly hat with the upturned brim, encased in Elvis’ aura where bad things could not happen and nothing couldn’t be fixed. She was just about to thank him for his kindness when the ride stopped with a sudden jolt and the car lurched precariously at the very top of the wheel. She screamed instead.
“Oh shit!” His eyes widened as realisation dawned on him. “Honey, I- I’m so sorry, I didn’t know and I told them-“ He leaned over the edge of the car, trying to get the ride operator’s attention. “Hey! Hey, start it back up! Hey!” He glanced back over his shoulder at her and gripped her shoulder with his large, warm hand, reassuring her.
“I think it’ll be okay if you just stop moving!” she said, trying to keep the panic from making her voice sound funny. It came out sharper than she wanted.
“Just stop moving,” he muttered, turning round again so that he was practically facing her, his arms bracketing her. “Might as well learn to fly at the same time. Ain’t exactly my strong suit, honey.”
With what felt like superhuman strength, she peeled her fingers on one hand away from the bar and lifted it slightly, clamping hold of his forearm. She could feel the muscle tense beneath her fingers through his jacket. He went to raise his arm, probably to wrap it around her, but she shook her head sharply and pushed down, forcing it to stay in place.
“You hold on,” she instructed. “And I’ll keep you still.”
“Yes, ma’am,” he murmured, eyes fixed on hers again, reading them like pages of a script. She exhaled shakily and swivelled slightly in her seat, freezing momentarily when the entire world seemed to slip off its axis for a second. The inside of her skirt clung to her sweaty legs, but she ignored the discomfort of it peeling away as she slotted her legs around Elvis’ jiggling thigh, clamping hold with her knees.
“Whoa, good grip, hot damn.” She watched him visibly swallow and she grinned, forgetting which one of them was supposed to be nervous. Her final act of bravery was to release the bar from her other clawed death grip and transfer it to the arm he had laid behind her, squeezing his bicep on this side.
They sat this way for a what felt like a lifetime, her frozen against even the suggestion of a breeze and him pinned down, studying her face like he had a test on it in the morning.
“Elvis, do you know my name?” she asked suddenly. His eyebrows twitched suddenly as he realised that he didn’t.
“Well, there hasn’t exactly been a good time to ask…” His slow smirk was so beautiful that she felt her face moving to match it.
“It’s Christina, but people call me Tina. You might not remember the name, but I guess I might stick in your mind a little bit after this, right?”
“I’m pretty sure you would’ve anyway, Tina honey,” he replied with his usual charm. “But yeah, I think you might be right. I gotta introduce you to my mother, she’ll wanna meet the girl that managed to keep me still for more than ten seconds.”
“You’re doing really well,” Tina observed, noting that he had matched the grip she had on his right thigh with his legs bookending hers.
“You too,” he replied, cheekbones brimming as he glanced to the side, looking down at the small crowd milling around the ride. “You know, it really is a beautiful night.” She winced and he smiled a little wider. “You can do, it, baby, just a little peek.”
Tina turned her head in a slow, stuttering swivel, squeezing him tighter the more the horizon seemed to bob up and down. He was right, the sky was clear and the stars seemed especially bright. The low moon was so big you could count the craters.
“It is,” she agreed, “You know- Oh no!”
The ride suddenly cranked back into life and Tina shrieked again. Someone further back laughed like they thought she was playing. In the chaos, Elvis surged forward since the car was already swinging precariously, and wrapped his arms around her, hushing her in a low voice as she clung to his shirt.
“Shh, it’s okay, it’s okay, I got you, I got you.” She had her face buried beneath his jacket somehow, taking in his scent. Her breathing evened out and she lost track of whether the ride was moving at all. She could feel his heartbeat against her cheek, surprisingly fast like a handful of coins thrown down a stairwell, jangling and clanging with only speed and little rhythm.
“You can let me loose now, honey, we’re back down on solid ground.” She withdrew from the folds of his shirt, meeting the smirk of the ride operator as he lifted the bar. She had daydreamed the myriad ways that she might catch the eye of Elvis one night at the fairground, roller rink or movie theatre. She would use the precious moment she had his attention to convince him that she, out of all the girls he dated, kissed, flirted with, was the one he was looking for. Well, the best laid plans…
Scrambling off the seat, she swayed slightly as she hurried through the exit, looking for Shirley’s familiar blonde ponytail.
“Tina, wait a minute!” Elvis’ voice was different compared to when they had been alone up there in the sky, deeper and more authoritative. She had no choice but to stop and wait for him to catch up. “Honey, I really am sorry. I fouled everything up something awful. I don’t blame ya for wanting to-“
For a second, she thought that he was going to topple over as she surged up onto her tiptoes and pressed a kiss to his mouth, but he only staggered back a step before he caught himself and her. Well, she almost kissed his mouth, the corner of it at least. There had been little time to aim accurately. She stood in front of him anxiously, waiting for a response, but he just stood there too with a little smile on his face and his cheeks pink.
“Uh, that was- I mean, thank you, for being so nice when I was being a scaredy cat up there. You could’ve made fun of me, but you didn’t. That was real nice of you.”
“Nothing to make fun of,” he shrugged, shaking off his embarrassment and regaining his usual self-assured stance, hips thrust forward. “Everybody’s afraid of something, right? Only they keep it a secret.” He wiggled his eyebrows pointedly.
“Uh huh, yep, secret,” she nodded, miming turning the lock on her lips.
“Anyway, you weren’t heading off home, were you? The night’s young and I feel like I gotta make it up to you-” He waved his hand behind him at the Ferris wheel. She bit back pointing out that the wheel was supposed to make up for his cousin hitting her in the back, so he had struck out two times already.
“I guess I can stay a while,” she replied absently, scanning the crowd. “I just gotta find my friend because she’s my ride home.”
“Oh, that ain’t no problem, I’ll get you home, don’t worry about that.” He snatched up her hand and spun on his heels. “Okay, so where to next?” She opened her mouth to answer, but he had already decided and she was just along for the ride. He strode over to a row of games, rejoining some of his friends who were huddled around trying to win prizes for their dates.
“Okay, you clowns, step back and let me show you how it’s done!” he intoned in that deep voice again. Everyone smiled and laughed and did as they were told. Red, who had been in the middle of his go, handed his baseballs to Elvis without a word. Elvis thumped them onto the counter and wiped his palms on his pants, before reaching up to remove his hat.
“Here you go, honey,” he murmured, plopping it onto her head. “You look after this for me and be my little good luck charm.”
The boys were ribbing him, saying he couldn’t make the shot, that he had a better chance of hitting the broad side of a barn or the barn side of a broad.
“Just shut ya damn mouths for a minute,” he scoffed, making as if to lob a baseball at them. They scattered like a shoal of fish in a racket of cackling and guffaws, before regrouping as he stepped up to the counter. At the back of the stall, wooden figures were moving along a conveyor.
“Watch me now, honey,” he said, turning to Tina and tugging her forward slightly by the arm. “You think about which of these prizes you want me to win you.”
Instead, she watched as the crowd began to form behind them. She wondered if he got scared in these situations too, yet another audience he had to impress. This reverie halted the minute he started flinging the balls at the wooden figures and they collapsed on their hinges one by one. His aim was spot on, every single one a hit.
“That was amazing!” she marvelled as the last ball met its target with a thwack. He turned, a small proud smile on his face and went to say something, but one of the guys made a crack about beginner’s luck.
“Beginner’s luck, my ass!” Elvis shot back. “Give me some more fuckin’ balls. Pardon my French, ladies, but this fool’s got me all turned up.” Tina felt her smile fade and she leaned against the flimsy wooden overhand of the booth, watching him obliterate the figures yet again.
Next, another of his friends accused him of being in collusion with the game operator, saying that he had been paid to press a hidden button to make the figures collapsed on their hinges. So, Elvis had the greasy, skinny man stepped out from behind the counter while he continued his winning streak.
It was clear that his friends were only teasing him because they wanted his attention, wanted him in front of them trying to impress them. And now that they had what they wanted, they were not eager to let him go. She let her eyes drift towards the other rides, catching sight of a blonde ponytail. She peeled away from the crowd, it wasn’t difficult when Elvis had barely glanced at her since starting the game, and tried to catch up to Shirley.
“Hey, where you going?” She only managed to reach the concourse before he had her by the wrist. “C’mon, Tina honey, you gotta pick your prize.” He fixed her with a proud, boyish smile that made her feel like she was being sour and mean for getting fed up waiting for him to finish.
Tina chose a big panda wearing a pink ribbon around its neck that Elvis promptly christened ‘Tina Junior.’
“Let’s take Junior for a walk, baby,” he said softly, clapping a couple of his buddies on the back and kicking one in the seat of the pants as he led her away from the stalls. The further they moved from his audience, the quieter and more attentive he became, the softer his voice too.
Tina followed blindly, smiling faintly at his twinkling eyes and Hollywood smile, not realising until too late that he was leading her to a darkened area of the park, an area containing the kind of rides that Elvis and his buddies were not interested in riding and so they were not left operational when the park was rented out.
“I don’t think we’re going to find anything to do over here,” she said slightly nervously, glancing back at the lights, music and voices.
“You’d be surprised, honey.” He drew closer to her, swooping in for a kiss that was thwarted by Tina Junior pinned between them.
“Damn, burnt by a bear,” he observed, taking it from her arms and holding it down at his side as he leant in again. His aim, as he had proved copious times, was always true and his soft, full lips pressed against hers with a feather light touch.
“Elvis, I-”
“It’s okay, baby, let’s keep on trying it and soon you won’t be scared no more.” His hand cupped her jaw and he stole away her breath so that she couldn’t protest again. Not that she could remember that she wanted to. Softly, experimentally, his tongue flicked against her lip and she drew back sharply, unsure whether she had just been the victim of a prank.
Elvis’ eyes narrowed. “How old are you, Tina honey?” Her cheeks burnt with shame that she had obviously given her inexperience away.
“I’m nearly eighteen,” she answered. In eleven months.
“And you ain’t never been kissed before?” Tina couldn’t parse the expression on his face, nothing fit exactly, almost as if there was more than one feeling swirling away in there. “Ain’t let no other boy touch you…” He placed his finger on her peter pan collar and let it deliberately slide down her chest, slowing as it passed over her nipple, which was pebbling and aching beneath her clothes.
“My parents don’t want me to date until I graduate High School,” she replied in a daze. “They don’t want me to get distracted from my studies.”
“God bless, Mommy and Daddy,” he murmured, blue eyes fixed on her face and his pouty mouth hanging open slackly as his hands kneading her hip. “They’re right, you know, you shouldn’t date until graduation. No boys, no one but me.”
“I don’t understand,” she breathed, as he ran the back of his hand steadily down her chest and over her ribs and belly.
“I wanna see you again,” he whispered, pressing her against a ticket booth and stepping in to crowd her, hips pressed into her petticoats. His mouth caught hers and his tongue brushed against her lips again. This time she opened her mouth as she inhaled and he took it as an invitation.
It didn’t feel like a kiss, it felt more intimate, more secret and maybe slightly wrong. She tentatively put out her tongue to meet his, letting him graze against it as he worried at her bottom lip. The ticklish stimulation was matched by the pressure against her hips and lower down. It felt he was poking her, but both his hands was around her neck and face.
“Okay,” he gasped. “Okay, we gotta take an intermission, baby, before the show’s over completely.” He stepped away from her and she felt a surge of loss coupled with an draught of cool air that swept in to fill the void he had left. She shivered.
“Aw, you cold, baby?” He shrugged off his white sports jacket and helped her into it. She could feel his warmth clinging to the lining, not to mention his scent. “Let’s go back, huh, it’s about time we got you home anyway. It’s a school night, right?” She bristled, but it didn’t seem like he was teasing her, not as he beamed down, stroking her cheek with his thumb.
As they walked back into the light, Elvis threw his arm around her and drew her in close, his wrist hanging from her shoulder, fingertips brushing her chest. They looked, she reflected with awe, like they were dating. She looked like she was dating Elvis Presley.
Elvis and a few of his friends drove her home in his Lincoln. She was pressed up against him on the front seat, and he was back to talking in that loud, deep voice he only used in front of other people. She let her mind wander back to the Ferris wheel and the way that his eyes had held her, coddling her with warmth and tenderness even in her stupid fear. She focussed on the way that his hand, whenever it was not shifting or on the wheel, flopped down onto her skirt, cupping her knee hidden beneath the material.
“Here we are, honey,” he announced, pulling up at her parents’ neat one-storey home. The windows were dark, which was a good sign, she reflected. “Want me to walk you to the door?”
The guys in the back laughed and she couldn’t stop herself from glaring at them. Elvis turned slightly and gave the nearest one a swat with the back of his hand.
“Ignore them, honey, they’re fools.”
“I had a good time tonight,” she said softly, looking only at him and his heavy-lidded eyes. “Thank you for-“ She stopped, mindful of their audience. “Thank you.”
“Any time,” he replied with his famous half-grin. “And I mean that, really.” She climbed out of the car and onto the kerb. Suddenly, remembering Tina Junior still sitting on the front seat and leaning in through the window to grab her.
“Oh, and my hat too!” she gasped, snatching it up.
“Your hat? Isn’t that mine?” he asked with a laugh.
“Hmm, well consider it compensation for pushing Billy into me tonight,” she returned, playfully sticking out the tip of her tongue. He laughed sheepishly and rubbed at his forehead, before shrugging an admission. Busted.
“I’ll see ya, darlin’,” he said. “Give Tina Junior a kiss goodnight from me, okay?”
Tina watched him pull away from the kerb as she wrapped her arms around the teddy, finally noticing that she was still wearing his jacket. It was too late to call him back, the car tail lights were barely visible in the dark, and it would be an excellent reason to show up at the gates tomorrow if he didn’t call like he promised.
It was time to stop being afraid.

For the world to see.
Tumblr media
Genevieve Heyman and Roman Reigns are the couple everyone wants to be.
Married in 2014, the couple have had a non stop life since, a reality TV show, a first set a triplets: Koa, Layla and Elle.
You’d think the couple would stop having children after that, Joe being on the rise to be the top dog in the WWE having a full time schedule and Genevieve being the head of creative backstage, the husband and wife duo are very busy people so it came with a shock that Genny was pregnant again, with another set of triplets!
Aveline, Levi and Max were born in 2019, the boys Koa, Levi and Max were inseparable, independent and the wildest kids you would ever meet. Whilst the girls Layla, Elle and Aveline were complete daddy’s girls.
The family showcased a lot of their home and family life in a reality TV show called Behind the curtain.
The show had given an opportunity to show the world how much the Anoa’i family has grown since the debut of the Wild Samoans: Afa and Sika.
————
“Good morning!”
The episode starts with Genevieve, Levi resting on her hip, descending the stairs. Joe is stood over in the kitchen, cooking up his famous blueberry pancakes for the children.
“Mum, dad said that Uncle Jon and Auntie Trin are coming today!” a very giddy Elle ran up to her mothers frame, wrapping her arms around Genny’s waist.
“They are baby, so that means you’ve all got to go get changed out of your pyjamas. Aveline, mummy will come help you with your hair once she’s spoken with daddy.”
With that the 35 year old women sends her children up the stairs.
Walking over to the stove, Viv stands behind her husband, wrapping her arms around his waist and resting her head on his broad back.
A sigh leaves her lips, Joe immediately notices this. Turning he takes his wife face between his hands.
“What’s wrong baby girl?”
“Hmm, I’m just feeling a bit off. Threw up when I woke up. I think it’s because works a bit stressful right now. Wrestlemania is coming up so i’m trying to work out all the final details with storylines.”
Joe nods in understanding, Wrestlemania is a stressful time for everyone talent and crew alike. Genevieve has a tendency to push herself too hard to create the perfect show.
“Well mama, how about me and Jon take the kids out and you and Trin can have a chill girls day, see if that helps you feel any better.”
“That’s sounds wonderful, thank you.” Ending the conversation with a kiss, Genevieve walks upstairs to go tend to her youngest daughters wild hair. Joe turns back to the stove to finish breakfast.
————
Trinity and Genevieve are sat on the lounge chairs in the garden of Joe and Gen’s Tampa home.
“Girl are you okay, Joe said you haven’t been well?” Trinity question the women across from her.
“I’m just not feeling like myself, i feel so like sluggish and just tired. I’ve been throwing up and i’m just so bloated. It’s really not what i needed this week.”
This week was crucial for Viv, she had to make Wrestlemania perfect.
“Genny, when was the last time you were on your period?”
Genevieve’s face instantly pales, she was late.
“Oh shit Trin, i’m late.”
————
“Obviously me and Joe are already parents, and it’s the best thing in the entire world. Becoming a mother has made me a better women in many ways, but already having two sets of triplets and having the work schedule like me and Joe have can prove difficult. I’m grateful for my friends and family who help out with babysitting when needed. If i am pregnant i’m just hoping it’s not more triplets!”
————
A pregnancy test sits face down in Gen’s bathroom that is currently occupied by Trinity. Having had the trust of revealing the result to an anxious Genevieve.
An alarm rings out through the bedroom indicating the time to wait is over, in one swift movement Trinity flips over the rest.
A light gasp exits her mouth followed by one sentence.
“Mama, congratulations you’re pregnant.”
“Of course i’m happy to be pregnant again, and no matter how many children i have the feeling of overwhelming joy is indescribable. I know Joe will be ecstatic when i tell him the news.”
————
It’s been a week since Genevieve found out she would introducing a new life to this world, to their family and she was yet to tell Joe.
A romantic dinner was set up with the intention of being the location of the reveal. Joseph sat across from his beloved wife, a steady conversation drifted between the couple.
“Baby i have something to tell you.” Genevieve muttered to her spouse. No matter how many pregnancies she has had, sharing the news always made her nervous.
“What’s wrong baby girl? are you okay?”
“Joe i’m fine, i’m really happy in fact. Handsome, you’re gonna be a dad to another little baby” She shyly placed the test in the table.
Joseph quickly stood up and rounded the table to take his wife into his arms.
“Baby i swear down if it’s another set of triplets i’m gonna murder you” was the phrase he was met by, slightly muffled by his shirt, he sensed the humour in the statement.
“Baby girl, we’ll have to wait and see.”
————
The pregnancy of Genevieve Anoa’i has been going fantastic, she was very familiar with the feeling of morning sickness and her loving husband was very familiar with how to help.
Revealing the news to Paul was a highlight, the short man burst into tears. Paul and the Anoa’i family had a very close bond even before the romance of Geni and Joe so the pride he felt in a new addition was worth the tears.
Many backstage moments were showcased on the show, the twins arguing over who the best uncle would be, Trinity convincing Geni the baby should have a mini ‘feel the glow’ outfit.
Hunter and Stephanie were such inspirational characters in Genevieves life so to find out baby Anoa’i would be named in honour of them caused Steph to become a blubbering mess!
————
“Baby Anoa’i will be named after both Stephane and Paul/ Hunter. Since i joined this company they have truly helped me in many ways and trusted my ideas to help further the WWE and i’m truly grateful.”
“You say the baby will be named after both of them? so a first name and a possible middle name?”
“Oh no, both individual names.”
Geni’s light chuckle is what closes out the confessional.
——
“Good afternoon guys, my name is Doctor Hemp and i’m just gonna check on little baby if that’s okay?”
The segment starts out with the Anoa’i’s in a hospital room, a check up for the mum and the baby. A cold gel is applied to the pregnant women’s belly and the doctor begins the ultrasound.
“Oh my! would you look at that! you’ve got a healthy set of twins! how exciting!”
Genevieve’s head slowly turn towards her husband who is wearing a sheepish smile, it had been an ongoing conversation between the couple. No More Triplets and whilst twins is two not three Joe knows what she is thinking.
“Joe baby i love you, but twins. You and your family genes for multiples is killing me here.” He voice hold a tone of humour so Joe and more importantly the nurse knows she’s happy with the news.
Joes hand strokes his wife’s hair, his eyes glued to the little screen. Two little babies.
“At least it not more triplets.” That’s all that leaves Joes mouth seeing as he’s quite chocked up, he loves being a father, he gets to be a father to two more little kids.
A gentle laugh echos throughout the hospital room.
————————
Delia Stephanie Anoa’i and Jasper Paul Anoa’i were born on the 14th of July 2022.
The children are loved endlessly throughout the backstage area by many. The Anoa’i children will continue to be a part of the great Samoan Dynasty with many of Joe and Gen’s children following in their father’s footsteps.
With a family of the size of theirs, even with its high and lows, there will never be a shortage of love.

giving my opinion on the whole drama going on,
i’ve been a fan of the triplets for around a year and a half now. i’m going to be completely honest i only start to watch them because i found them attractive. i never had a problem with l***a and m**i until recently. signing 3 teenage boys to a management because your daughter watches them on youtube and definitely finds them attractive is so strange and weird and also the relationship they have with their manager is so weird. she treats them like family when they are her clients. they can’t fire her because they are best friends with their managers daughter, so they are kinda forced to stay with zstardigital.(i’m guessing they obviously want to stay)
now with the m**i and matt dating rumours. it was funny and entertaining, i don’t think a lot of people knew it was satire(i felt like it was) but as we know the triplets are sensitive and can’t take backlash, so them talking about this on the most recent podcast shows that they obviously did have enough, which is very surprising since they rarely ever talk about stuff like this because they don’t want to come off as “controversial”
i didn’t really understand when nick said he deleted tiktoks for “privacy reasons” i just thought it was strange since he deleted them in the time span of everything going on in the fandom. basically matt deleting “your never gonna find someone like me tiktok” set everything off.
i do think the sturniolo fandom is a little insane, but most of it is young teenage girl who would kill for them. the other half is older teens who just watch them for entertainment. the people who are giving death threats to their female friends are clearly the younger fans. but i feel as they are making their fans feel guilty and im talking about the fans that haven’t really done anything(i personally think it’s embarrassing being apart of this fandom when they have to call out people and i personally feel guilty even if i haven’t done anything, i just cringe that there’s people in the same fandom doing shit like that) i also feel as the triplets can be very ungrateful when their fans are literally paying for their rent.
im sorry if you don’t agree, this is just my opinion, the worst thing the triplets could of done was sign to a management, well the one they are sign to.
also since when did nick love chapstick so much to make it? no clue.
