The World Tour: Mötley Crüe and Def Leppard.
It was actually happening. Eight years since Mötley Crüe's 'final tour' in 2015 and they were back performing live not just in front of crowds on a stage but in front of tens of thousands of fans in stadiums all across the world.
You couldn't stop pinching yourself as you leant against the barricade in the front row of their concert. How you even managed to get such great tickets was a question you still couldn't answer but you were so incredibly happy.
Growing up your father raised you on rock music. Mötley Crüe, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Guns 'N Roses, Bon Jovi, Alice Cooper, the list was basically infinite.
There was no shortage of rock music in your childhood house. Your father was the one who introduced you to Mötley Crüe, but little five-year-old you had no idea how far your obsession and hyper-fixation with this band would go.
From listening to Girls Girls Girls in the back of your father's truck on the way to school to blasting Kickstart My Heart many years later while driving home from your dead-end job. Mötley Crüe was your favourite band. As a child you enjoyed their music, blissfully unaware of the meaning behind some of their songs as you shouted the lyrics from the backseat. But despite liking their music at a young age, you never became a full-on fan or Crüehead until you were older.
Now, you understood the meaning behind their songs and lyrics... some quite questionable (yes, I'm looking at you All In The Name Of...) but they were still great songs that resonated deeply within you. Now you were older you were able to properly appreciate the music. Most of Mötley Crüe's songs were close to your heart. Afraid and Home Sweet Home more so than any others.
Being able to see them live in person was something you were still struggling to comprehend. Even now as you stood in front of the barricade staring at the empty stage in front of you waiting for the concert to start, it was still unimaginable. It felt as if you were dreaming. And you feared that your alarm clock would wake you up any minute. But that annoying ringtone never rang, instead loud emergency buzzing started as the large screens either side of the stage lit up with the words;
'NATIONAL ALERT Primary Entry Point System Issued an Emergency Action Notification'
If you hadn't been so obsessed with this band, you might have been worried reading those words and hearing the emergency alarm. But you had already seen YouTube videos of their World Tour concerts and knew the show was about to get wild. Literally.
The guitar intro for Wild Side started shortly after and you stood there mouth agape in awe as John 5, Mötley's new guitarist, appeared out of nowhere shredding on his guitar.
Many hated John 5 simply because of the fact he was standing where Mick Mars used to be. And yeah, you understood that. Mick Mars is an absolute beast with a guitar, but John 5 was a damn good guitarist too. From playing with Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson, John 5 had the experience and the skill to continue on Mick's legacy with Mötley Crüe. And he was proving that right before your eyes.
Suddenly drums joined in with the guitar and your head snapped to the left in shock to find Tommy Lee sitting behind his drum kit. You had been so focused on John 5 in his long white coat you didn't even notice Tommy sneaking up on stage and by the screams coming from the mass crowd behind you, nobody else did either.
Then Nikki Sixx and Vince Neil rushed out from the side onto the stage, and you began screaming in pure happiness with the crowd.
This was real.
Mötley Crüe were here. They were right in front of you.
Holy fucking shit.
It was actually happening.
Your internal freak out was cut short when Vince began to scream those first words and suddenly everything else around you faded away as you got sucked into the music.
All your life issues and problems outside of this stadium vanished. All the stress and pressure from work, gone. Nothing else mattered in this moment as you stared at the band, at the four men on stage who meant everything to you.
"How you guys doing tonight?!" Vince shouted through the microphone after finishing Wild Side and Shout At The Devil. Hewalked up to the front of the stage staring out at the crowd who all cheered and screamed in response. "Now tell me, who likes to listen to the old shit?"
The crowd went ballistic and you right along with them as you screamed up at Vince who was smirking at the fans. Vince Neil was a showman. He loved performing and putting on a show for everyone. This was what he was born to do and even now at 62 years of age, he was still rocking it.
"How about something from the first album?" He asked and the crowd cheered so loudly it hurt your ears and Vince grinned turning back to his bandmates. "Let's do it!"
John 5 suddenly unleashed on his guitar, Tommy joining in with his drums and you grinned ear to ear recognising Too Fast For Love instantly.
Don't Go Away Mad Live Wire Looks That Kill The Dirt
Song after song and you were in pure bliss listening to them play while screaming along with Vince to the words. And when Tommy sat down behind the piano that got wheeled onto stage, tears were burning in your eyes before the song even started.
Home Sweet Home.
This song meant so much to you. After moving out of home young for your career and living over eight hours away from your friends and family this song hit you harder than any other.
You knew there was a chance you'd tear up during this song, but after the first few words "you know I'm a dreamer" you were done for. Silent tears trickled down your face as you sung the words that meant so much to you.
Nikki walked around the back of the piano patting Tommy's shoulder before he stood at the edge of stage right in front of you. His eyes scanned over the crowd in amazement. Even after 40+ years of touring you could tell that Nikki never took this for granted as he stared out at his fans in genuine happiness.
"But my heart's of gold I had to run away high So I wouldn't come home low"
Nikki placed his hand over his inner elbow while Vince sang which only made you cry harder knowing all about his battle with heroin that had killed him back in 1987. You briefly thought back to his book The Heroin Diaries and all the pain and suffering inside those pages. Nikki had been through so much shit yet overcame his drug and alcohol addictions and was now living his best life. 22 years sober. You were so incredibly proud of him.
Suddenly, as if Nikki could somehow sense your thoughts his head turned, and his beautiful smoky eyes locked with yours.
"Take me to your heart." You sang in tune with Vince as Nikki placed his hand over his heart while maintaining eye contact.
You continued to sing the lyrics. Nikkis smile widening with each word. Tears were still trickling down your face, but you didn't wipe them away as you sang, and he eventually turned his attention away leaving you standing there feeling breathless.
Now that your eyes weren't locked with the bassist you took a moment to turn and look at the crowd yourself. Lights from phones illuminated the entire stadium. You stood there with wide eyes watching all the lights going round and round in tune with the beat while Vince sung his heart out.
After Home Sweet Home they got into Smokin' In The Boys Room. It was amazing.
As they continued through the songs, you occasionally caught Nikki looking at you. Sometimes briefly, just one flash of his beautiful smoky eyes before he was looking away again. But sometimes he'd hold your gaze for a few moments while he strummed away on his bass, and you sang the words to each and every song with so much passion and enthusiasm.
Nikki probably thought you were crazy. You knew every word to every song and hell, you were even sporting his signature black war stripes on your cheeks that matched his own identically.
"I wanna introduce you to somebody who's up here." Vince suddenly said through the microphone. "He's my brother. He's a badass. And he's a bass player. Give it up for Mr. Nikki Sixx!" Vince shouted pointing at the bassist in question who began walking to the front of the stage his bass no longer strapped around his shoulder.
Nikki and Vince fist bumped as they walked past each other. The singer disappeared off stage for a drink break with the rest of the band leaving Nikki alone on stage as he walked up to the microphone pole.
"Well, how the fuck are you guys doing?" Nikki called out speaking for the first time. "Anyone wanna come up here on stage with me?"
Your heart thundered in your chest like a drum as Nikki's eyes scanned the crowd before locking with yours. Then your heart quite literally stopped and all you could do was stare right back at him as he pointed at you and curled his finger up in a come here motion.
"Get that beautiful girl up here." Nikki ordered his gaze holding yours for a moment before he turned back to the rest of the crowd and continued to talk about the tour.
If someone held a gun to your head and told you to repeat what Nikki was now talking about. You'd be dead because you were not listening to a word the bassist was saying anymore as blood rushed in your ears. All you could focus on was the security guard walking over to you as you shakily began climbing over the barricade.
The guard helped you over safely before guiding you around to the side of stage and pointed at the stairs without a word.
Wait, were you meant to just walk up the stairs onto the stage? Did Nikki want you up there now? Oh, God you were panicking and overthinking this.
"I saw you singing every word to every song. Come up here." Nikki's voice cut through your internal panic as he appeared at the top of the stairs and held his hand out towards you.
Sucking in a deep breath trying to calm your nerves, you took Nikki's hand and climbed onto stage. And holy fuck there were a lot of people in that crowd. It was a never-ending sea of fans packed into the stadium and all of them were staring at you and Nikki.
"It's okay. Don't be nervous, sweetheart." Nikki whispered lowering the microphone so nobody else could hear him. "What's your name?"
"Y/N."
He smiled, "pretty name. It suits you."
You couldn't stop the small smile from spreading across your face at his compliment as you ducked your head feeling your cheeks blushing.
"It's fans like you guys that make all this possible." Nikki began to say into the microphone before he wrapped his arm around your shoulders and pulled you into his side. "And if you'll have us, we will be back soon I promise you that!"
The crowd erupted in applause and screams causing you to flinch not expecting it. Nikki's arm tightened around you ever so slightly noticing your reaction. He continued to talk to the crowd while holding you against his side. You allowed yourself to relax in his hold and leant into his touch getting memorised by his musky cologne.
It was hard to believe Nikki Sixx was 64. He still ran around on stage with his bass like he did back in the 80s. Well, maybe not as much. Nikki did used to drink Jack Daniels straight from the bottle and roll around on stage back in the day. His beard and hair were obviously dyed now, but he looked damn good for his age. The thick muscular arm holding onto you was enough proof to say that Nikki Sixx aged like fine wine. He was only getting better and better as the years passed.
"I have a very important question for you." Nikki began to say, and you tilted your head up surprised to find him looking right back at you.
Oh, he wasn't talking to the crowd anymore. He was talking straight to you.
His face was so close to yours you could smell a hint of mint on his breath. It was strangely refreshing.
You bit your lip nervously and nodded staring into his beautiful sea green eyes awaiting his question anxiously.
"What song would you like us to play next? It's your choice."
Oh my God.
The crowd all started shouting song names that you couldn't quite decipher as you held Nikki's gaze. He was smirking like he could see you suddenly panicking because despite the fact that you knew every single one of their songs from all the albums, you were coming up blank.
Nothing.
Not one song title was coming to mind.
"Give us a song we haven't played in years!" A familiar voice called out causing the crowd to cheer.
You glanced over your shoulder to find Tommy Lee strolling back onto stage with his drum sticks in his hands. God, he had aged like fine wine too.
Then Vince Neil and John 5 began to make their way back on the stage. Hell, all of Mötley Crüe had aged like fine wine, who were you kidding? John 5 was younger than the others but still looked fantastic in his 50s. Vince always copped so much hate on social media due to his weight gain, but fuck those haters because Vince Neil looked damn good for his age. And he had lost a significant amount of weight since their last tour back in 2015.
Mötley Crüe's good looks were not helping your sudden internal freak out though as you turned your head back to Nikki who was smiling at you like he knew what was running through your head.
"Afraid from Generation Swine or Knock 'Em Dead Kid from Too Fast For Love. You can pick which one you like better." You hurriedly answered the second your brain decided to actually function.
You were honoured to be able to choose the next song, but was worried that you'd pick a song the guys wouldn't like or a song that you couldn't remember very well. At least this way the four of them could decide which one they wanted to play themselves.
Nikki grinned, "I knew I picked you for a reason. You're clearly a fan. I like you."
Hearing those words coming from Nikki Sixx himself was something you didn't know you needed to hear. Your heart fluttered as you smiled at him but didn't dare trust yourself to speak fearing you'd either stutter your words and make a fool of yourself or just start bawling your eyes out from happiness.
"Fuck yeah! You have no idea how many people just pick the popular songs. It's boring." Vince's voice piped up through his own microphone.
"Why don't we play both?" John suggested.
Nikki glanced back down at you and opened his mouth to speak but then the crowd suddenly started shouting snapping his attention away from you abruptly.
The shouting from the crowd didn't sound right though. And by the way Nikki's body had turned tense on alert beside you, you knew something was wrong.
The fans in the crowd closest to the stage were all yelling and pointing at something behind you. Nikki quickly turned, his arm slipping from your shoulder as you spun around and that's when you saw the stranger running on stage.
Vince and John quickly backed away while security swarmed the area frantically trying to climb up onto the stage to stop the unknown man. Nikki raised his arm in front of your body almost protectively as the man turned towards you both with a crazed look in his eye.
Suddenly, he bolted straight towards you. But he wasn't looking at you. His wide eyes were zeroed in on one thing and one thing only, Nikki Sixx.
Security were hot on his tail. But the man was fast. Too fast. Then, he reached into his jacket pocket, and you saw a flash of a silver blade.
In a split second you realised two things; one, security weren't going to stop this crazy man in time and two, he had a knife and he was heading straight for Nikki.
Without thinking you pushed the bassist to the side not expecting your own sudden strength as Nikki fell off the side of the stage. But you didn't have time to worry if he was okay or not because the next thing you knew the crazy man crashed straight into you instead of his intended target.
You stumbled back a few steps at the impact but managed to keep your feet before shoving him off you. That was all the time security needed before they grabbed the crazy man who instantly started thrashing like a wild animal in their grip.
The crowd around you had turned eerily silent as they watched security struggling to contain the intruder. More guards jumped onto the stage to assist and eventually the group of them managed to get the man under control and began escorting him off stage.
Your heartbeat was skyrocketing. Body shaking with adrenaline as you breathed heavily watching the man still trying to fight the guards.
Wait, Nikki.
As if on cue, the bassist appeared out of nowhere after lifting himself up the side of the stage with a grunt before limping over to you. Guilt instantly washed over you because he was favouring his right foot and it clearly hurt.
"I'm so sorry. Are you okay?" You hurriedly questioned rushing over to him on instinct as you looked down at his boot worriedly.
"Am I okay? Are you?" He questioned in shock his eyes raking over your body looking for any signs of injury.
But then his face drained of all colour and his eyes paused over your midsection and widen into saucers.
You frowned and followed his line of sight and had to do a double take when you saw the knife sticking out your lower abdomen.
The man stabbed you.
How the hell did you not notice that?
Suddenly, it was as if a switch had been flipped and the adrenaline soaring through your veins began to subside and that's when the pain started. White hot pain radiated through your body like a fire burning from within.
"Oh fuck." Nikki swore under his breath.
Without thinking, you reached down with shaky fingers and grabbed the handle of the knife.
"Wait, don't-"
You yanked the blade out before Nikki could finish that sentence.
It hurt. You needed to get it out. But that did nothing to stop the pain though. If anything, it hurt more causing you to cry out as the blade slipped from your now bloodied fingers and fell to the floor of the stage.
Blood began to pour from the open wound like a dam bursting. Oh, that was a bad idea. That was a really bad idea.
You quickly covered the wound with your hand knowing you needed to keep pressure on it to slow the bleeding, but warm red liquid was already oozing out from between your fingers, staining your shirt and dripping down your pants.
The crowd was silent as the thousands of fans watched on in pure shock. Mötley Crüe concerts were never quiet. Even between songs the crowd were up and around cheering and screaming, but not tonight. Nobody moved. Nobody dared to speak as they all stared at you in the middle of the stage.
Everything around you started to turn blurry as you took a staggering step back. Your legs buckling from underneath you but before you hit the ground, Nikki's strong hands were on you. Gently he eased your body down onto the floor moving slowly not wanting to hurt you further as he laid you down.
Suddenly his hands were removing yours from the wound so he could take in the damage but clearly didn't like what he saw as he cursed under his breath. His hands quickly pressed down against the stab wound on your stomach causing you to whimper at the pain it caused.
"I know. I know. I'm sorry. I need to keep pressure on it. I'm sorry." Nikki apologised, his sea green eyes filled with so much panic as he looked over his shoulder. "We need a medic!"
"We need a medic on stage!" Vince's voice repeated through a microphone loudly.
Nikki frantically pulled out the bandana from his back pocket and bundled it up before pressing the material against the wound. But the once blue and white fabric soon turned a dark crimson.
"Shit. Shit. Where's the medic?!" Nikki shouted desperately.
Vince suddenly appeared over his shoulder unsure what was going on but when he saw all the blood his face paled. The singer frantically ripped off his scarf and knelt beside Nikki pressing it down against the blood-soaked bandana causing you to wince at the pain.
"Fuck. What happened? Did he stab her?" Vince questioned taking in all the blood.
"He wanted to stab me. But she stopped him." Nikki muttered angrily through gritted teeth. "Where's the fucking medic?"
You glanced to the side just in time to see John 5 dropping his guitar and running off stage to find a medic as Tommy sprinted over but froze when he realised what was happening.
"I'm sorry." You said, your voice barely above a whisper.
"Shh. It's okay, save your energy. You're gonna be fine, okay? You're gonna be fine." Nikki reassured, but you weren't sure if he was trying to reassure you or himself.
"Get that fucking camera out of here!" Tommy's voice boomed in the background somewhere, but everything was starting to spin as your eyes fluttered shut.
"Hey. No, no, no, wake up. Y/N, sweetheart, open your eyes." Nikkis voice begged before a hand suddenly cupped the side of your face and you forced your eyes open to find Nikki's panicked green one's looking straight at you. "Stay awake, you hear me? Stay awake."
"Sixx, it's not stopping." Vince warned grimacing at the now blood-soaked scarf he was still using as a makeshift bandage over the wound.
"Damnit." Nikki hissed, pushing his hand down harder in attempt to stem the blood flow causing you to groan in agony. "Sorry. Sorry. I know it hurts. I'm sorry."
"Just hold on a little longer, kid." Vince instructed while frantically looking around for the medic.
"There-there are worst ways to die." You winced, your tired eyes flicking between Nikki and Vince before Tommy dropped to his knees on your other side. His shaking hands hovered over your stomach not sure what to do to help as he stared at you helplessly terrified. "Dying with... with Mötley Crüe by my side ain't a bad way to-to go out."
"No." Nikki shook his head. "You're not dying. Not on my watch."
"It's okay." You whispered, his bloodied hand still cupping your face.
"It's not okay. Nothing about this is okay. Fuck! You shouldn't have pushed me out the way-"
"It doesn't hurt anymore. It's okay." Your voice was becoming weaker as you struggled to keep your eyes open.
"Shit." Vince swore knowing that was bad.
The guys all looked around at each other their fearful panicked expressions matching. They didn't know what else to do and you were fading fast.
"Over here!" John 5 shouted sprinting back onto the stage with two paramedics hot on his tail. "She was stabbed and- fuck, that's a lot of blood."
The last thing you saw was Tommy and Vince trying to pull Nikki away from you as paramedics rushed over before everything faded into darkness.

Next Chapter
MASTERLIST pinned to profile If anyone wants to be tagged just let me know
A/N: I am writing this purely for myself and if anyone else happens to read and like it, then that's a bonus. The first part of this fic was based on my own personal experience during their concert last year but obviously everything after going on stage is completely made up.
If I was the girl he asked to go on stage I would either just start crying or pass out... maybe both.

HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY ANIMANIACS!!!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I just want to say how truly amazed I am with this show. There are very few words that can describe it. I put a few in the picture seen above, but this is barely anything compared to everything I've said. Animaniacs has changed my life in ways that many shows can only dream of. And I'm thrilled to be here today to celebrate its legacy.
I wasn't born in the 90's. I didn't grow up with this show like I know a ton of people did. I was exposed to it, mainly through the Hub Network ads for reruns, the once-in-a-while YouTube video reference, and even in fifth grade when my teacher showed us a clip of "Wakko's America" for our state capital test (which by the way I passed). I didn't acknowledge this show's presence, at least until 2020. That was a rough year, not only for me, but for everyone. Online school sucked. I couldn't see my friends. I was always crying myself to sleep and staying up late just watching videos to wash away my sadness and hurting. It was hell. I didn't have any comfort. At the absolute worst of times around October, I saw that one of my favorite channels posted a video on the trailer for the reboot of a show called Animaniacs. I was curious, mostly since I'd never heard about it before (well, I thought I hadn't). But the way the characters looked and the amount of people talking about it got me interested enough to click on the video. I listened to the reviewer's thoughts, not really understanding much, yet still being enticed to continue. I watched the actual trailer afterwards and...the rest is history.
I instantly fell in love. I watched the trailer on repeat before the reboot's release, laughing and singing along. I researched the show more and discovered a ton of voice actors I knew. I loved the characters, especially Yakko, I listened to the songs, I watched the interviews, and I talked about it constantly to my family and friends. While I didn't have Hulu, I still kept up with the reboot quite heavily. For Christmas, I got my first piece of merch, a T-shirt, and I got the first 25 episodes of the original show. I watched them on repeat with my sister and we both laughed, sang, and danced around whenever the show came on. After taking a fandom break, I got back into the show in 2021, which came with a new appreciation for Pinky and The Brain and fanfiction. Around this time, I was finally able to watch the reboot and entire original series since I got Hulu. My merchandise collection expanded, my knowledge of the show grew exponentially, and my desire to contribute to the fandom was intense. Not much has changed since then. Granted my merchandise collection is bigger, I can do impressions of a few characters, I met some of the voice actors, I joined the community on Tumblr, I actually wrote some fanfiction, and I've seen so many Animaniacs episodes now that it'll make your head spin. I'm so proud to be a super fan.
My appreciation and adoration for the Animaniacs franchise knows no bounds. It changed my life in amazing ways. And I can't believe its thirty years old today. I'm struggling to keep my emotions in right now, it's all so surreal. So, to all my followers I encourage you to give this show all your love today. It deserves it. Thank you Animaniacs. Thank you so much for everything you've done. You have made me a better individual and have fueled my love of animation for nearly three years. I hope you continue to inspire many more like me to laugh, be silly, and sing "Yakko's World" to pass a geography test. Animaniacs is the greatest show of all time, and I'll never stop saying that. (Ps. this isn't the last Animaniacs Anniversary related post I'm making! The next one will be long! And I'll also be showcasing my Animaniacs merch collection! Stay tuned!) Goodnight Everybody!!

Jacks birthday:
Series link
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The last few days leading up to Jacks birthday were spent together. He had flown back to Atlanta and luckily had some time to spare.
You, Jack, Layla and Urban watched the tiny desk performance a few days after it was put on YouTube. You met the guys at their apartment essentially a few hours after they made it back home, because Jack was eager.
He had made you promise not to watch the video until you could all watch it together, and you kept your promise even when Layla watched it beforehand.
Layla and Urban spent most of the time talking about soccer and other common interests with one another. The two of them giggling and whispering back and forth.
Jack didn’t mind it, he was only concerned about one persons opinion, which was yours.
You and Jack were the opposite of Urban and Layla. The two of you weren’t speaking at all. He watched your gaze as you were completely mesmerized by how well he handled himself. He didn’t seem nervous at all, and the way he was dressed was practically making you drool, but you kept your composure.
“What do you think of the live band?” He cleared his throat to get your attention but you didn’t hear him. He chuckled to himself as he watched your eyes glisten, you were at the edge of the couch watching with adoration.
He had plenty of women who supported him over the years but this felt different, it felt genuine.
Urban and Layla gave him a smile, both realizing your intense focus. It wasn’t until the room grew extremely quiet that you noticed everyone staring at you, all of them stifling a laugh.
“What?” You giggled, hiding your face.
Urban started laughing which made Layla giggle too, leaning into him.
“Can’t I support my man in peace?” You retorted, completely embarrassed.
“My man huh?” Jack teased and you felt a wave of embarrassment.
“My man, my man, my man” you scrunched your nose and giggled, making him kiss you.
“I like it” he whispered before giving you another kiss.
“I think the live band was a good choice and it felt really comforting. I think the fans will like it because it shows a much softer side” you hummed and Jacks eyes practically twinkled at your feedback.
“That’s exactly how I wanted it to feel” his cheeks hurt from smiling, you did that to him a lot.
“Just wait until you see the music video in a few days” Urban got up to get himself a drink and Jack made wide eyes at him, he definitely hadn’t told you about that yet.
“Video?” You questioned and Layla saw your look of confusion, taking that as a sign to join Urban in the kitchen.
“I have a music video coming out in a few days and I was going to talk to you about it later” you immediately saw the beads of sweat forming on his brow and upper lip. He didn’t hide emotions very well, at least not from you.
“What’s the problem?” You whispered, noticing he was clearly anxious about the topic.
Jack knew there was a few scenes in the video that a girlfriend might not appreciate and he was used to jealously in relationships, he was always called out for his flirty nature so he assumed this wouldn’t be any different.
For the record, it was filmed before you and him were officially together but he was still anticipating your reaction. He didn’t want anything to ruin his birthday weekend and he was worried this just might.
You connected the dots before he even said anything, which he was grateful for as he was still searching for the words.
“Jack, I trust you. Music videos, and pretty women are part of your job” you shrugged, “I’m never going to hold any of that against you, just be transparent with me and we’ll be fine.”
“Really?” His brow furrowed, not that he wanted you to be jealous but the toxic side of him was hoping you’d be at least a little bit bothered.
Before the conversation could continue both Urban and Layla were back in the room with more drinks and snacks.
“So what’s the plan Barlow?” Urban smirked and you and Layla chuckled at the nickname. “Are we flying or driving home for our birthdays?”
“Our?” Layla tilted her head, “You’re both pisces? Get me out of here” she snorted and you couldn’t help but smirk as she sat beside you on the couch.
The boys sitting beside one another now too.
“I like my spicy pisces” you whispered to Layla hoping Jack wouldn’t hear.
“It’s whatever the girls want. I don’t mind driving like we usually do but we can fly if that’s easier” Jack shrugged before making eye contact with you.
“I’m down for a road trip” you smiled and Layla nodded in agreement.
“We both took Friday off because we weren’t sure what you guys wanted to do” Layla chimed in.
“Leave Friday? Yeah?” Urban asked and Jack agreed.
Before you and Layla headed back to your place both you and Jack said your goodbyes in private, as she waited in the car.
“Spicy pisces huh?” He smirked and you felt your entire body warm up. You covered your face with your hands in embarrassment, his arms were wrapped around your waist and he couldn’t help but laugh.
“I thought it was cute baby girl.” He blushed and you gave him another kiss before leaving.
****
The road trip to Louisville was fun, the four of you spent the entire drive eating snacks and singing. Jack did the driving so you sat up front with him, and Urban and Layla were in the backseat. You were easily carsick so Urban didn’t mind sitting in the back.
“I got you guys a hotel room, but it’s near my parents house so you don’t have to worry about being far away or anything” Jack pulled into the hotel parking lot and you nodded. He had already told you about the hotel previously.
“Are you both going to your parents houses and then stopping by later?” You asked eagerly, already missing him.
“Yeah, I’ll probably bring dinner over here around seven?” Jack smiled and you gave him a kiss goodbye.
You and Layla had a few hours to kill and instead of sleeping you two sat in the hotel room looking for places nearby to explore.
You changed into the Louisville cardinals sweater Jack got you on your second date and some black leggings. The two of you ordered an Uber before heading to the Kentucky Derby Museum.
You knew Jack was probably going to be a little jealous that he wasn’t the one to show you around but you didn’t want to sit in your hotel room bored for the next couple hours and you weren’t even sure if he was able to go out in public like that anymore, you hadn’t really discussed that yet.
You and Layla took plenty of pictures and time started to get away from you. “Y/N it’s almost seven” she giggled and your eyes widened.
“We should order that Uber then” you giggled as Layla was trying to rummage through her coin purse for coins, she always wanted an elongated coin (or as you and her both called it, a flattened penny) from one of the machines when you traveled anywhere.
“You still collect those?” You smiled and she giggled as she handed you one too. “Uber is 15 minutes away, let me tell Jack we’ll be late.”
Y/N: Layla and I may or may not have left the hotel and went to the Kentucky Derby museum so we are waiting for our Uber now and will be headed to the Hotel asap. ☺️
Jack: You went without me? 💔 Did you like it?
Y/N: I mean…. It was okay. Nothing special. 😌
Jack: Don’t play with me woman. 😐
You giggled out loud at the text messages between the two of you. If there was one thing Jack didn’t joke about it was Louisville.
You quickly replied letting him know you were joking and shortly after that he asked you what you and Layla wanted from Morris Deli, sending you a picture of a menu.
He was running late too and let you know he would be bringing his brother Clay and his friend Copelan to the hotel with him.
When you told Layla about Clay and Copelan she smirked, “Are they hot?”
“Layla!” You practically threw yourself on to her as the two of you got in your Uber. You laughed until tears came out of your eyes.
“You can’t have the whole friend group Lay” you giggled, wiping your face as she laughed with you.
“Urban is hot but I mean I don’t know what the rest of the crew looks like” she laughed again and you shook your head.
“You literally rush ordered him a birthday gift before we drove here” you teased and she was silent. You knew although she played it up she only had eyes for Urban at the moment.
“You didn’t have to call me out like that though” Layla joked.
When you got to the hotel the guys still weren’t there, so you and Layla headed up to your room. You both touched your makeup up, brushed your teeth and waited for the guys to show.
Jack text you when he was heading up and you waited in the doorframe for him, waving at the three of them.
Jack spotted the sweater he bought you immediately pointing to it and giving you a thumbs up.
“That’s your girlfriend?” Clay whispered and Jack answered through his teeth, trying not to make it obvious.
Clay and Cope introduced themselves immediately and Layla was very obviously disappointed that Urban wasn’t with them.
“Urban is at his parents house” Jack smirked as he handed out the food and Layla blushed immediately, earning a chuckle from the room.
Layla really could get along with anyone, she’d have no problem befriending a rock if it spoke. So needless to say she had no problem hitting it off with Clay and Cope.
The five of you ate together, Jack sat on your bed and everyone else was spread out.
“I see you’re wearing the sweater” Jack gushed as everyone else was into their own private conversations.
“I told you I liked it! I wasn’t lying to you” you smiled sweetly.
“Okay, so be honest. What did you think of the sandwich you picked then?” He raised an eyebrow at you, noticing you had barely eaten it.
“Straight up… taste like booty” you joked and he laughed so hard he snorted, making the two of you laugh harder, almost falling off the bed.
Clay chuckled to himself and him and Cope made eyes at one another, Layla looked over at the both of them and smiled.
“She’s never like that” Layla confessed, “not with anyone.”
“Him either” Copelan replied, “and I’ve known him since we were kids.”
“So then you know ALL THE DIRT” Layla joked getting Jacks attention and Clay and Copelan laughed.
“Hey!” Jack interrupted jokingly, making you giggle, as always.
“What are you three talking about?” His brows furrowed as if to silently tell the guys to shut up.
The rest of the night was spent talking, mainly about Jacks birthday party tomorrow. Clay reassured you that his parents would love you, and you had hoped he was right.
It was almost midnight when everyone decided to call it a night, Jack didn’t want to leave you at the hotel but he promised his mom he’d stay at the house tonight because his parents missed him.
Layla climbed into bed after telling everyone goodbye and Clay and Cope walked to Jacks car first, leaving the two of you trailing slowly behind them.
You checked your phone, “two minutes until midnight, birthday boy.”
“You’ll be the first person to tell me happy birthday” he smiled as you walked through the hotel hallway.
At midnight, you quickly got into the elevator, kissing him against the walls as it was only you two. Jack picked you up, and you wrapped your legs around him, you could hear him heavily breathing and the kisses were getting more and more sloppy.
Ding!
You climbed down, wiping your mouth and giggling as you used your sweater sleeve to quickly wipe the spit off of his, making sure he would look presentable in front of his brother and friend.
Jack got out of the elevator, turning to you as you remained inside of it. He couldn’t wipe the goofy smile off his face even if you paid him.
“Happy birthday handsome” you spoke, as his cheeks became more and more red.
The elevator doors closed quickly after.
You practically ran to your hotel room, eager to tell Layla but she was already snoring.
****
The next day Jack and Urban spent the first half of the day setting things up and spending time with their families.
Jack kept texting you apologizing but you had already knew this was going to happen as he had given you the run down of the plans repetitively.
He was stressing you out because he kept telling you about all the people you had to meet tonight besides his parents and grandparents.
You and Layla took an Uber around Louisville and kept yourselves busy, but she could tell you were in your head.
“What gives?” She asked as the two of you sat on a park bench, soaking in the sights.
“I’m not only meeting his parents tonight but his grandparents too. His managers, yes with an “s.” I’m meeting more friends, people on his team, and it just feels like a lot” you sighed.
“What are you so afraid of?” Layla looked at you, trying to get you to make eye contact.
“I mean we haven’t even been together that long and I’m just in my head about it” you swallowed, “it’s stupid, let’s get an Uber back to the hotel so we can get ready.”
“You really want them to like you, don’t you?” She leaned against you, shoulder to shoulder.
“So bad” your voice cracked, making you look away from her.
“Hey! Don’t do that” she stood in front of you now, getting your attention.
“Have you ever met someone’s family and they didn’t absolutely love you?” She teased and you cracked a smile.
“There is a first time for everything” you sniffled and she rolled her eyes, knowing it was highly unlikely.
You finished ordering your Uber and eventually went to the hotel to shower and get ready.
Layla offered words of encouragement to you while you got ready which relaxed you for the time being.
Jack promised to pick you both up so you could show up together and he kept his promise to you, both he and Urban showing up in suits at the hotel entrance.
He had told you and Layla to dress formal so you did, the four of you were dressed up really well.
“You look so beautiful” Jack smiled, as the two of you embraced. You planted a quick kiss on his cheek before he grabbed your free hand, walking you to the car. The other hand was carrying his gift that he pretended not to notice.
Urban and Layla walked behind you both. Layla gave Urban a custom Zippo lighter with the lighter fluid already in it. She was pretty proud of her gift and didn’t want to give it to him with an audience.
Urban thanked her and continuously played with the flame the entire way to the party.
Jack and Urban had rented out an entire venue for the party, having catering and a DJ, and basically everything in between.
Jack had picked you up early, he wanted to make sure you met most of the important people before things got busy and hectic.
“You ready?” He smiled as he got out of the car, waking over to your side, grabbing your hand to reassure you. He rubbed his thumb on the top of your hand as he held it, to comfort you.
You left his wrapped gift on the floor of his car, not wanting an audience when he opened it either.
Layla and Urban made their way to the open bar while you made your rounds speaking to everyone.
You met his grandparents first, they weren’t staying long and frankly only came to see who this woman was that Jack talked about all day.
The conversation flowed easily, his grandma showed you a baby photo of Jack which made him cringe but made you audibly “awww.”
Clay walked over to you both, giving you a hug which surprised you. “Mom and dad are asking about little miss y/n” he smirked and Jack nodded, guiding you to where his mom and dad were standing before hugging his grandparents goodbye.
“Mom, Dad, this is Y/N” he motioned toward you. His dad shook your hand first and his mom laughed, “I do hugs around here!”
His mom embraced you with a hug and you felt at ease immediately. She had the same calming energy that Jack did.
The five of you (Clay included) sat down at a table and talked about everything under the sun. You talked about Jacks career, what you did for a living, what they did for work, how you liked Louisville and more.
When the guests started to arrive Jack excused himself and you stayed sat with his family.
You continued to talk until Jack came to get you, wanting to introduce you to more people. Clay stayed behind, you assumed he was going to tell Jack what their parents really thought about you later.
“You’re literally your moms twin” you giggled as the two of you walked towards an unfamiliar crowd of people. Luckily, Layla and Urban were standing there too so you felt less nervous.
“Yeah? It’s the hair” he laughed, before introducing you to Chris and Neelam, his two managers.
You were introduced to DJ Drama next and then Shloob, 2fo, Quiiso and Ace.
You met tons of other people that night but these were the only people whose names stuck, and luckily they were all the most important people in his life.
You were glad Layla was a social butterfly, you didn’t have to worry about her but occasionally she’d give you a thumbs up so you knew she was alright.
“Do you wanna go outside?” Jack leaned over to you so you’d hear him over the music.
The two of you went outside, sitting on a brick wall alongside the building. Jack let out a deep breath.
“What’s on your mind?” You asked, always watching his eyes for emotion.
“I’m just glad you’re here. I know this is a lot and I just appreciate it” he turned to you, you could tell he meant every word.
“Thanks for letting me be part of it all” you smiled, scooting closer to him. You leaned your head on his shoulder.
It was silent between the two of you for a moment, but it wasn’t awkward or uncomfortable.
“Do you have your car keys on you?” You stood up, waiting for Jack to pat himself down.
“Yes?” His eyebrows furrowed as he handed you the keys.
“Your gift is in the car” you giggled awkwardly realizing how he might have thought you were hinting at something different.
“After last night, I wasn’t sure” he laughed as you grabbed his hand and practically dragged him to the car.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, and technically that was this morning” you replied smugly.
“That’s elevator camera knows though” he let out a boisterous laugh.
“Oh, holy shit” your eyes were wide and you giggled as you unlocked the car door, making Jack sit down in the passenger seat as you handed him his gift and a card.
“A card huh? Ooooh, she’s sentimental” he teased and you playfully rolled your eyes.
“Is this going to make me cry? My mascara isn’t waterproof” he continued to joke, truthfully he was nervous about what could be written inside the card.
Only worried because maybe he already felt it too.
“You’re usually really cute but right now, you’re playing too much and I’m going to need you to open your gift already” you responded impatiently making him laugh as he opened your card.
He read your card quickly, giving you a kiss and then tore into your gift.
It was a pair of Prada Symbole sunglasses, yes those sunglasses.
“These are- you didn’t have to-“ he was in shock, he knew how much these glasses cost and was actually dumbfounded at how you got your hands on them.
“Do you like them baby? Because if you don’t that’s okay and I can just-“ he interrupted you with a long kiss.
You pulled back and looked around the parking lot where his car was parked. You climbed into the passenger seat, straddling his lap and shutting the door, the two of you making out while the car windows fogged up.
Jack pulled back, earning a confused look from you as he reached for his cell phone.
You didn’t say a word because you immediately knew what he was doing once you saw him typing the hotel address in.
“It’s twenty minutes from here” you bit your lip in anticipation. “The hotel is twenty minutes from here.”
Jack crawled out from under you, making sure not to hurt you in the process of him climbing into the drivers seat.
“Won’t they notice you’re missing?” You giggled as he started the ignition.
“I really don’t care” he chuckled, “as long as I’m with you, I don’t care.”
You knew he really meant it, that’s for sure.

↳ a/n: HAPPY 2023! We made it! This is the first fic of the new year, which means there will be some new changes to my blog: with the first being writing for Seventeen. I'm a multi at heart, so it was only a matter of time before I started potentially writing for another group. Special thanks to @playmetheclassics for creating this awesome banner and looking over it!
╔══ஓ๑♡๑ஓ══╗
"Hey, guys! It's Pixella and welcome back to my channel! Today on Throwback Game Thursday, we're playing Grand Theft Auto 4!" you beamed towards the camera as a flood of excited comments in the live stream chat.
You loved what you did. After years of watching other people playing video games and receiving a great response, you wanted to do something you enjoyed.
Growing up playing all different types of games gave you the thrill of escapism, but also the expertise of different consoles, cheat codes, and methods of victory.
Starting as a "silent" gamer in 2019, your following began to grow as you became more comfortable with the camera, letting your unfiltered personality show, as well as the beginning of the pandemic causing more people to stay home and seek out entertainment.
After almost 4 years, you were one of the top gaming channels on both YouTube and Twitch, as well as being the most subscribed female creator on the former site.
You were balancing looking at the screen as Niko is greeted in Liberty City by his cousin Roman, but also looking at the chat to see comments from subscribers.
kkuramania_ Are you continuing your Apex Legends series?
"Hi, Kkura! I've been out of the country for the past month and staying with a friend. All my main games are back home, but yes, I do plan on continuing the series!" you replied to Kkura or Sakura, who was a long-time supporter.
Another perk of being a social media creator is interacting with fans. You would have the occasional trolls in comment sections who had something to say about you being a female gamer in a generally male-dominated community, but it didn't bother you. You were used to standing your ground with your older brothers, who you got along with, but were menaces in childhood.
You loved and appreciated every one of your subscribers, lovingly called the "Pixel Gang" after one suggested the name on an older stream.
every1woo Where are you?
"I'm in South Korea, Woo! Specifically Seoul. My friend Youngheun wanted me to come and visit for the holidays."
Little did you know, that one sentence would cause the wheels to spin in "Woo", or Wonwoo's, head. His favorite YouTuber was in his city and the potential of meeting you had his cheeks turning red.
Tumblr media
If someone told Wonwoo 4 years ago that he would become head over heels for a girl, he would've laughed it off. If someone told Wonwoo that 4 years later he would become head over heels for a girl who happened to be one of the most popular YouTubers, he would've laughed it off.
Now, after 3 ½ years, he could confidently say he has fallen head over heels for you. What was there not to like about you? Your smile whenever you earned a swift victory over an opponent, your laugh anytime a subscriber said a joke, and the way you were your authentic self on camera: everything about you was real.
He was hanging onto every word about your visit, from visiting the Gyeongbokgung Palace to the new foods you ate, until he heard snickering behind him.
"You're still on that stream, hyung?" Seungkwan stifled a laugh, seeing how awestruck his groupmate was.
"Yeah, Y/N's so cool. She's actually in Korea right now." Wonwoo said hurriedly, turning back to the computer screen.
"So, there's a chance we could see her out and about?" Mingyu asked.
"I hope so! It would be nice to have a conversation in person. Maybe even show her around the city." Wonwoo perked up, imagining what it would be like next to you.
"Pfft! In your dreams, Woo. She doesn't even know you exist." Seungkwan retorted.
"Maybe that's true, but our paths may cross someday." Wonwoo sighed pointedly.
As much as he hated to admit it, Seungkwan had a point. There was a very, very, very minuscule chance that he'd ever get to meet you. If anything, he enjoyed hearing you read his comments during the streams he could catch whenever he wasn't busy.
"Keep dreaming, my friend," Seungkwan said, going off to bed.
Once out of the room, Mingyu came over to pat his friend on the shoulder.
"It's probably not what you want to hear, but I think it's for the best that you be realistic about this, hyung." he said, leaving the room as well.
Wonwoo just sat in place, left with his thoughts as he heard you sign off with your signature goodbye.
"That is all for today, Pixel Gang! Have a good day, afternoon, or night wherever you are in the world and I'll see you soon!" you respond gleefully.
Wonwoo watched as the live stream ended and logged off his laptop before heading off to bed.
Tumblr media
You had woken up bright and early, as you heard the water running one wall over. Youngheun was soon out of the shower and in the living room with you.
"Good morning, sunshine." she responded, watching you bounce up full of energy.
"Morning, Heunie." you greet.
"Looks like someone's excited about her 4th-anniversary stream," she said, reminding you of the occasion.
"Oh yeah! I almost forgot about the stream today." you respond.
As much as you enjoyed talking with fans, there were times that you just wanted to enjoy some time for yourself, especially when you were technically on vacation.
"I really should have remembered, but it's been three weeks since I've been here and I haven't gotten the chance to go sightseeing." you sigh.
"Y/N, I know how important your followers are to you, but I think they'll understand if you prioritize yourself," Youngheun said in reassurance.
She was right. You deserve a break, especially if it allows you to visit different markets, restaurants, and landmarks.
"Hey! I actually have a good idea! How about you make a post for Instagram celebrating your 4th year on YouTube with a Q&A?" Youngheun suggested.
"That's a great idea! It'll give me the chance to connect with my followers, but also give me some "me" time." you said with a smile.
Youngheun nodded, going to the kitchen to grab a bowl of cereal. You grab your phone and open the Instagram app to see your feed flooded with fanart from followers commemorating the 4th anniversary of your channel.
Your heart was so full that you quickly tapped the button for your story and took a picture of yourself with a big smile and a "thank you" message for the Pixel Gang, along with the question sticker for them to ask you anything.
You didn't expect a response to come in quickly until you checked your dms to see a follower of yours, ttokifam, asked you the following question:
You're in Korea now, right? Who's your favorite K-pop artist?
You responded in the next story with a selfie of yourself and a Wonwoo photocard from SEVENTEEN'S Face, The Sun Album you owned.
Tumblr media
"Guys! Look at this!" Wonwoo said as he hurriedly showed his phone screen to the rest.
pixella Ugh~ there are so many great artists out there, but I'm going to say SVT. Also, before you guys ask, my bias is this guy 😼
He had to read over the text, again and again, to make sure he wasn't imagining things. Many carats had been tagging them on their stories about you saying you were a fan, along with him being your bias.
"Woah! That's awesome, Wonwoo!" Soonyoung said excitedly.
"I can't believe she's a fan!" Joshua stated.
"You must be in awe." Mingyu smiled, shaking his friend's shoulders to ensure he was still with them.
"In awe? He looks like he could burst at any moment." Jeonghan laughed, which caused Wonwoo to come back to the present.
"Congrats, hyung! You got noticed by a pretty girl." Seungkwan responded.
"This has to be a dream. Somebody pinch me." Wonwoo said jokingly.
"So, what are you gonna do?" Seungcheol asked.
"What do you mean?" Wonwoo questioned.
"I think what Cheol is trying to get at is are you gonna talk to her?" Joshua proposed.
"Yeah, Wonwoo. Are you gonna slide her dms?" Mingyu laughed.
"No way! Yeah, I like her and she's a fan, but what if I come off like a creep? I wouldn't even know what to say!" Wonwoo exclaimed.
"Looks like Jeonghan already has that handled." Soonyoung said, pointing to the man commonly referred to as the "Angel", who sneakily took his phone to message you.
"Jeonghan! Give me that!" Wonwoo took the phone back from him, watching him with a devilish smile on his face.
Wonwoo looked over the message hesitantly, looking at the screen in horror at what his friend had sent on his behalf.
everywon_woo Hey Y/N! A little birdie told me you were a big fan of ours 👀 I'd sure hope so because I've been a fan of yours for years now! I heard you were in Seoul and was wondering if you want to meet up.
The rest of the members crowd around him to look at the message and the reaction is a mix of silence peppered with some stifled laughs here and there.
"So, Jeonghan, er you, basically asked her out on a date?" Mingyu said, whispering towards the other man to give him a high five.
"You're welcome!" Jeonghan smiled knowingly.
Tumblr media
"Youngheun! Look!" you screamed with excitement at the message you got in your dm from Wonwoo.
"No way!" Youngheun exclaimed.
"I can't believe it! I've had a crush on this man since I was 14, and he wants to go out with me!" You were becoming giddy like a schoolgirl until realization hit.
"I don't know any places around here really. Where are we going to go?"
"There's an Outback Steakhouse about 20 minutes away." Youngheun suggested.
"Outback Steakhouse? I didn't know there was one here!" your eyes lit up with joy.
"Well now you know! Come on, you have a date to get to, Y/N!"
Tumblr media
The conversation flowed easily between the two of you. Despite being well-known in your own right, the two of you felt like normal people.
"I can't believe you've been watching my videos for so long!" you said between bites of your asparagus.
"Yeah! I was going through my recommendations and saw this cute girl with her cat headset." Wonwoo blushed.
You were smiling from ear to ear, the delicious food not helping.
"You're not too bad yourself, Jeon Wonwoo." you laughed, reaching over the table to lightly graze his knuckles.
"We've been here for about an hour and I never asked you, how did you become a Carat?" Wonwoo inquired.
"Well, my sister was watching this video of these guys with mop-like hair in what looked like a green basement being chaotic and I asked her what she was watching." you started.
"She said Seventeen and I was wondering who they were and a little over a year later, you guys debuted." you finished off.
"I'm glad that you've been a supporter from the beginning! It really means the world to me!" Wonwoo smiled.
"Same for me, too!" you replied.
The conversation continued for the next half hour, until you both felt that you were full and left a tip for your server of the evening and headed out to the parking lot.
"I had an amazing time, Y/N." Wonwoo beamed.
"I did too! I hope it's the first of many." you responded.
The moonlight hit his face so that it made him look almost ethereal. The wind also did wonders to the strands of hair that soon flew with each passing breeze.
You both leaned in closer, letting your lips press against his. It was so delicate, almost like your first-ever kiss. Even though that event had long since passed, this one made you feel those same butterflies.
"Here's my number. Why don't you give me a call whenever you just want to enjoy each other," you said.
Leaving Wonwoo behind to go to your car, you gave him one more glance, excited for how the rest of your visit would unfold.

The Encounter
Japanese original by Shunya Shiraishi, September 29, 2022
While “Poison Berry in My Brain” was playing on stage, my home was a mess.  Things like printed A4 copies and plastic bags from convenient stores were tumbled onto the floor.  Clothes were spilling out like a waterfall from the washer.  Kuromame tea left a stain and almost-empty plastic bottles were scattered on the dining table.  Dishes with surface grease and grime were barely washed off with water only and piled up in the kitchen sink.  Since it wouldn’t be a surprise if any harmful bug might come out of this crazy house, I have decided to hire housekeepers.  They have such faithful personality that even no one gave them any assignment, they inspected the house from corner to corner in a 24-hour shift.  Thanks to them, let alone cockroaches, not even small flies appeared anywhere.  Their name is Adanson’s house jumper.  It is a common species of small black jumping spider found in most Japanese households named after the naturalist Adanson. In other words, they are house spiders.
Due to my work, I don’t have a healthy daily lifestyle.  But only when working a stage performance, I have a daily routine.  My meals are always taken at certain times. I get a restful sleep because I must move and will get tired.  Although it’s a very healthy and stable lifestyle, a part of me suddenly felt trapped like birds without feathers.  And “thanks” to the yet-still-popular coronavirus, basically I cannot go out much.  Having some communication with two Adanson’s house jumpers can serve as a little healing therapy.  It reminded me of a TV show or something of which a prisoner who stayed alone in jail for a long time secretly kept a cockroach as a pet. When the roach died, he was so sad that he cried.
This September Toei offered me an appearance on their YouTube because it was the 10th year anniversary of Kamen Rider Wizard, of which I played the lead.  I was worried about what to talk about nowadays on the program.  But if the main cast could gather, I told them I would love to join it.  I didn’t remember exactly the last time we met. It was THAT long time ago.  When I was as young as 20 years old, when we were still literally kids, having spent a year and a half together as buddies meant nothing but special memories.  Nuh. Not just that.  Even we worked close together for a long period of time, not one person has ever once had a negative feeling about each other.  They were all so nice!  Despite being at the age who would be aggressive and would sideline someone, they all supported me as the lead.  They all have cooperated for the purpose of making an interesting work.  Since I have had a slight feeling of wanting to blame myself for not providing a regular gathering opportunity to these lovable buddies, I truly appreciate the passionate support from Toei who offered this opportunity and from Kamen Rider fans.
The YouTube recording was on September 2nd, that day my stage only played matinee. It was unbelievably the exact date of the 10th year anniversary.  The recording included Makoto Okunaka, Tasuku, Yuko Takayama and me. Four of us.  Another main cast member Junki Tozuka who was acting for a stage in a different prefecture joined us via video.  It was a bummer that we couldn’t meet Junki in person, but it was an emotional moment being that 10 years have passed since we were altogether. As we recalled the real events then, those feelings came back to life. Whatever we had not talked about in the past, gaps were filled and answers were checked.  It was a wonderful time.  That night I was carried away by all kinds of memories.  I didn’t know why but I had a hard time falling asleep.
On the other hand, Tokyo performance of “Poison Berry in My Brain” at Meiji-za, which has continued since last month end, has finally come to an end.  Although I had a day off, in order to bring my flying squirrel to my friend’s house for pet-sitting, I cleaned the cage.  I was also busy washing three loads of clothes.  I entrusted the housekeeping task to the Adanson’s house jumpers and hurried to Osaka performance.  I checked in at a long-established hotel not far from the theater.  A hotel which has spectacular cleaning service contrasted to my own home.  And I started my hotel living there for a while. Laying down in bed while trying to reply to cumulative messages on my LINE app, I received some unexpected information.  Believe it or not, Junki Tozuka, who we couldn’t meet the other day, was currently staying at the same hotel!  His stage in Osaka was at the theater next door. Their schedule also mirrored ours. Immediately I reached out to him.
One morning, Junki and I met up at the breakfast hall in the hotel.  Since we both had a stage to perform, we learned to behave at breakfast. The once-abandoned buffet style due to COVID has now been revived.  A queue was formed at the breakfast hall.  While I was busy getting a table, Junki came.  He showed me a sentimental expression suitable for our reunion, but I simply replied with a “long time no see” in a considerably flat tone as I struggled to secure us a table.  Junki and I and other actors at his stage who I have known and gotten along with ended up sitting altogether and enjoyed the buffet. I felt bad to others, yet I couldn’t help but kept talking to Junki.  We talked about what has been going on lately to what has happened at the recent YouTube recording.  Then we discussed our near future.  Little less than two hours ended quickly in no time.  As long as I live, this kind of strange twist of fate can come along like a reward.
I returned to my dirty home lined with lots of hang dry laundry.  I folded the dried clothes and reluctantly started cleaning my room full of never-ending mess.  There was no indication of any pest.  Not sure if the house spiders have finished their work, but they were nowhere in sight. After spending a whole day cleaning, my room has become quite presentable.  I jumped to the shower.  Then when I opened the closet to get my pajamas, a tiny black thing as small as dust walked across the closet door.  It wasn’t an Adanson’s house jumper.  It’s too small.  Who are you? Don’t tell me you are a newborn cockroach.  Because it would be a hassle.
Adanson’s house jumpers! Did you guys slack off at work while I was away?  Hey, spiders! Where are you?  I was yelling at them in my mind.  However, they were not there.  I took a piece of Kleenex and chased after that tiny black thing.  It’s there!  In order to make sure I could catch it, I approached slowly.  As if it sensed danger, that thing jumped and escaped from me.  Wait.  Did it just jump?  What?!  It was a newborn Adanson’s house jumper, Jr.

Where is the inclusivity?
By: Althea
In 2022, according to Gaytimes’ website, nine queer rep shows were canceled in 2022. Another source says over 40 queer shows were canceled this year alone. Now, 40 shows seem like a tiny amount of shows, but those shows were very celebrated and loved in the queer community.
Let’s take V.E. Schwab’s First Kill as an example. It was watched for over 30.3 million hours in it’s first week, while heartstopper was watched for less than half of that. Guess which one got a double renewal?. Listen, I love the show and I’m not mad that heartstopper got renewed, and I’m not saying that the show didn’t deserve it, I’m just questioning Netflix’s choice.
I am one of the thousands of people that watched and adored First Kill. And I think I speak on behalf of the fans, when I say that the show has touched my heart in so many ways. The show also became a safe haven for many people, including me. Just like many people, I was devastated, when I got the news, that the beloved show got cancelled.
Although, Schwab’s First Kill wasn’t the only inclusive show that got cancelled by Netflix. Shows like Derry Girls, Killing Eve, Grace and Frankie, Babysitters Club and more got cancelled by Netflix this year. I guess Someone was in a homophobic mood.
I’m that kind of person that gets attached to a show when I see myself in the characters. That includes LGBTQ+ representation too. Hell, netflix doesn’t even have a category for inclusive shows. Also, it has come to my attention that Warrior Nun, another wlw show, got cancelled just after the fans found out that it was getting a double renewal. What. The. Fuck. Netflix?
I have to admit that there are other shows on Netflix than the ones I just mentioned. But I’m just angry that netflix is advertising the wrong shows. Now, netflix has advertised shows like Heartstopper, and Young Royals, and the fans are eating it up. They love that the streaming service’s social media account(s) are releasing behind the scenes footage, set tour and cast interviews. But what about shows with wlw leads? When you search “First Kill” in youtube’s search bar, you’d obvously see a few interviews and stuff like that with the First kill cast. But funny enough none of them are by the official Netflix youtube channel.
Let’s not give netflix all the blame though. There are of course other streaming services/broadcasting companies that have canceled their inclusive shows.
I’m talking about the CW.
They canceled their only two LGBTQ+ women led shows, Legends of Tomorrow and Batgirl in the same week. Not only that, they cancelled both shows During Lesbian visibility week. How funny. ‘cause on June 16th 2020, the CW released a statement on their social media, saying:
Words matter. So does action. We can do more. We will do more
The CW appreciates and welcomes enthusiastic and thoughtful commentary about our shows. We are committed to making our social pages a safe place for our fans and talent to engage with each other.
We will not tolerate and will block racist or misogynistic comments as well as any hate towards the LGBTQ+ community.
Ironic, isn’t it?
Most of these Queer rep shows, usualy run for around 1-3 seasons. Five, if you’re lucky.
But the CW decided to let Legends of tomorrow run for seven seasons. The show was, and still is loved by fans around the globe and the cast even going to comic-con on multiple occations, and still continue to, to this day.
Legends of tomorrow is also one of the wlw lead shows that never got a proper ending, along with batgirl, leaving thousands of fans devastated, and the CW can’t even give us a proper expanation, as to why they did what they did. So where the fuck is the support for the LGBTQ+ Community, CW, huh?
Another factor I should bring in to this, is that Legends of Tomorrow had significantly more viewers than shows like Riverdale and Kung fu. Three guesses as to which two got renewed for a new season. Much like Netfix, the CW chose to cancel the shows which have a higher viewership, knowing damn well that viewership typically is a large factor, when deciding to renew a show.
There has also been tooooons of hashtags in protest too. hashtags like: #SaveLegendsOfTomorrow, #RenewFirstKill, #RenewWarriorNun and my personal favorite, #CancelNetflix are all (currently) trending on twitter.
Honestly, I think it’s about time, that I ask my dad to cancel our netflix subscription.
Streaming services like Netflix are trying so hard to be inclusive nowadays. Meanwhile they’re canceling inclusive shows that are actually good. Where the fuck is the inclusivity then?

Reveal Your Watch and Rewatch Lists
I was tagged by @gilly-bean. I recently did one here, but here are some new thoughts and updates.
RECENTLY FINISHED:
Triage (AIS Play Paid YouTube?) - @kyr-kun-chan got me to watch this finally, and I am glad she did. Not surprised this seems to come from the same folks who worked on Manner of Death. I liked putting a gay romance in a time loop story. I’m not always a fan of Tae, but he’s used well here. Feel like the side couple shifted in the final loop unexpectedly, but I’m choosing not to complain. Really stellar project, and I’m glad (not) BL is continuing to experiment with other genres.
Stranger Things 4 (Netflix) - Look, I don’t like the long episodes. If you’re going to do movie-length episodes of TV, I want them to be structured like movies. We basically had the run time of 13 hour-ish episodes. It may seem like I’m splitting hairs, but I suspect the short episode number has to do with restricting how many writing credits screenwriters can earn so that they lose their guild membership. For those following, the writers strikes of the last 15 years have been devastating for TV, so I suspect the producers want to weaken the power of the guild.
That being said, I think this was a good season that benefited from extra time to work on some of the writing. The new characters landed quickly and effectively, and I’m exciting for the final arc now that we’re deep in the spiral.
CURRENTLY WATCHING:
Gameboys 2 (Gaga outside of US currently) - There is something intensely vital about Gameboys. I know a lot of folks struggled with it as a screen-life show about and set during the pandemic, but I don’t think any show has tackled the insanity of being trapped inside the way the Philippines has. Maybe it’s because they’re one of the most online nations in the world, but they just get how people are using social media and digital communication tools these days.
I also know that a lot of folks come to BL to take a break from the realities of existing as queer, but I often tend to enjoy the shows about queer family and love in spite of all the BS we face. The queer friendships in this show feel real to me in a way that they almost never do in Thai BL (or even J-BL). It’s the most important show for me that I’m watching right now.
Minato’s Laundromat (Gaga) - Like with Gameboys, I continue to be enamored with this show for how honestly it’s tackling an age gap one-sided romance between a high schooler and an almost-30 laundromat owners. I like the meditation in the show about whether we should treat the first big infatuation of someone’s life as a serious and long-term-viable romance. I like how honest Akira is with Shin about what’s going on, and I appreciate that he doesn’t lie to Shin that he finds him attractive. It’s very important to me that we honor the feelings of young people, even if we know they’re a bit misguided. I have worries about where this may go, but as a gay man who knows how often people’s first experiences are with guys (sometimes much) older than them, I’m looking forward to the rest of this.
Senpai, This Can’t Be Love! (Viki or Gaga) -
I am enjoying how quickly this feels like it’s moving, especially after Mr. Unlucky. I’m also enjoying Kaneda’s forthright nature. Love rooting against a Canadian as a romantic complication. How fun!
Vice Versa (GMMTV YouTube) - I liked the first episode. I like the visual language being used around color and when we see Sea/Ohm and Jimmy/Nanon. I legitimately laughed at the first joke of the show (that never happens with GMMTV). I’m glad we have a whole show about using color effectively, because we’ve all given GMMTV a lot of grief about washing out the image to make the actors look as pale as possible. Sincerely, GMMTV Management, you have a beautiful country full of beautiful people. Please stop trying to make them look like they’re from higher latitudes.
Love Mechanics (WeTV) - I am so exhausted by this show. No one has done anything wrong, but I’m just not a huge fan of messy relationships. Yin is charming, but Vee reminds me of too many guys I knew. I did enjoy the recent Mark Siwat cameo. The production on this show is solid, and I think the entire cast that returned has improved. Love Mechanics isn’t bad, but I don’t think it’s really for me.
Coffee Melody (Viki) - It’s fun seeing Pavel again! I don’t like his hair. I don’t like the pink hair either. I am deeply thankful that this show is not set in a school for once, and for that I will stick with it. I’m more demisexual than I am just gay, so I don’t always empathize with the characters who see someone attractive and immediately begin hitting on them. For that reason, I’m struggling a bit with Duen Yi, but I do love a confident character that knows what they want. I also appreciate that we get a budding romance where it seems like both parties recognize the mutual attraction and are both interested in exploring it. That is deeply refreshing for me in the genre.
Star and Sky: Sky in Your Heart (GMMTV YouTube) - I am going to be so relieved when this show is over. I have not enjoyed it. I don’t like Fah, I think Mek and Mark aren’t really in sync (or just can’t display affection with each other well). I don’t like the way women are used in this show. Worst of all: IT’S BORING. Unless you feel a sense of loyalty to the cast or the network, you can skip this one.
STARTING SOON
Nothing currently that I know of, though @iguessitsjustme has me wanting to finally watch My Day.
REWATCHING:
What Did You Eat Yesterday? The Movie -I’m showing it to my friend tonight! After that I’ll show her To My Star 2, and then probably 3 Will Be Free.
LOOKING FORWARD TO:
(Reposting from the last post)
The Eclipse - I really hope Khoatung and First find chemistry with each other, because I think it could be really special.
Moonlight Chicken - Excited to see Earth and Mix playing in something complicated.
War of Y - I’m sure this will be a mess, but I love Seng Wichai.
Between Us - Maybe? I feel like I’ve gotten over Boun and Prem in all these years of waiting.
I’m sure there are others, but we usually have so much to watch that I just cannot remember much beyond the GMMTV offerings.
No tags since I think I did this recently, but feel free to tag me if you make one!

HONEY, HONEY! || LN4 SERIES: a masterlist
Tumblr media
f1 masterlist: a - n o - z
if you’d like to get on one of my taglists, check this post out
lando norris x ofc (honey-sue lewis) - wip
summary: hannah-sue ‘honey’ lewis is so much like her sideman brother, harry lewis or wroetoshaw, except for the fact that she didn’t watch formula one as much as she used to back when she had her crush on mercedes driver michael schumacher in 2010.
lando norris never considered anything a miracle, but when he found out that his youtuber crush was somewhere in his party on the verge of passing out, he couldn’t help but label this unfortunate event as a work of an angel.
content warning: social anxiety, mentions of alcohol + nicotine consumption, use of explicit language, humour (possibly more mature), formula one x sidemen content (HEAVY ON FORMULA ONE THAN YOUTUBE UK), chatfic + social media post + written post. more content warning to be added.
note: moony 🤝 her profound addiction to watching sidemen and formula one = this series.
(SET ON 2022)
Tumblr media
introduction - a brief introduction to the characters involved in the story + playlist inspired by this series
one, who tf is lando norris: honey-sue is… honey-sue. she knows who she idolizes (and have a crush on: mason mount), she knows that she’s looking forward to getting the hell out of the university after two years of her masters degree program, and she knows that she doesn’t care about the formula one teams that aren't mercedes amg - she also knows she cares about mick schumacher.
so when her fans (who were coincidentally fans of the sports as well) began to ask her things about her lack of interest, more people (mostly just a group of british youtubers and a certain f1 driver) immediately shifted their attention towards the socially awkward woman as she and her brother got invited to a party in monaco hosted by an f1 driver. newsflash: it wasn’t hosted by either lewis hamilton or george russell.
two, lando norris retweeted: honey lewis announced the release of her third album and her participation at the sidemen football charity match all while lando norris started to show his true colours in twitter as he continued retweeting everything that has to do with her.
three, wroetonorris: his instagram stories screamed desperate while her awkward encounters and tweets screamed for help.
four, peng ting from mclaren: celebrating her worldwide platinum records led her to mistake lando's appreciation with someone else's congratulatory gift. honey lewis tried her best to apologize to the mclaren driver by... airdropping a meme?

Beyonce Is Now The Most Grammy Awarded Artist Of All Time
Beyoncé Knowles has racked up countless accolades and achievements in her career, and last night was no exception. Renaissance is the seventh studio album by Beyonce, released in July last year. Upon its release, the album received immense praise from critics and fans alike. On Renaissance, Bey uses her personal memories with her uncle Johnny, and influences from the black queer community to create a 1-hour long house music experience. The bold leap into the electronic genre was a bold step for the Houston singer, but one that’s paying off in spades. A Record-Breaking Night https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXnnucnZyek The 65th Grammy awards were held yesterday Feb 5 in Los Angeles, and Bey took home four trophies boosting her overall count to 32. The academy awarded Bey best dance/electronic recording for “Break My Soul,” best traditional R&B performance for “Plastic Off the Sofa,” best R&B song for “Cuff It” and best dance/electronic album for Renaissance. This makes for an extremely fruitful night but also makes history. Beyonce is now officially the most Grammy-awarded artist in the history of the ceremony. It’s a highly coveted honor and one that didn’t go ignored by attendees that night or people watching at home. Receiving her Flowers This isn’t the first time Bey has made history on the Grammy stage. Back in 2010, she became the first female artist to win six Grammys in one single night. She achieved another milestone for women in the industry in 2020 when she became the most Grammy-awarded female artist with 28 wins. Still, the big night didn’t go without some disappointments for the beehive. Renaissance lost out on the album of the year award to Harry Styles' Harry’s House. It continues a controversial and notable trend of Beyonce losing that particular category. In 2017, her highly praised album Lemonade was beaten by Adele’s 25. Bey's third studio album I am... Sasha Fierce lost to Taylor Swift's Fearless. In addition to this, in 2015 Beck's Morning Phase secured the AOTY win over Beyonce's self-titled album. Regardless of the criticism surrounding her AOTY loss, Feb 5 marked a massively important breakthrough for Beyonce. Fellow artists that night like Lizzo and Glorilla showed appreciation for the Virgo's impressive career longevity and made sure to give Bey her flowers. Since the new Matilda movie came out I thought it was time to post this fan fiction I wrote a long time ago about @danielhowell and Phil Lester. It’s a parade story but I think it’s pretty decent! Enjoy!
Phil Lester had been performing on the west end for 9 years now. Before deciding he wanted be on the stage, Phil had been a YouTuber but after a year of working hard he only had 100 followers and he decided it was time his work was appreciated. He quit youtube and began training in the musical arts and less than a year later he got his first role. He fell in love with the arts and decided he was never going back to YouTube. Phil thought he was not going to be missed but among those few subscribers there was one who was so dedicated, that he followed Phil into the theatre business and vowed he would make Phil return to his past life no matter the cost. This is the story of the Phandom of the Opera.
Chapter 1
In the year 2016, the play Matilda was very popular on the West End. Emily-May Stephenson was in the middle of rehearsal of her very first professional show Matilda. For someone so young, she was very good, which is why she was Matilda. She was rehearsing her favorite song, Silent, when her singing was suddenly interrupted by the director, Matthew Warchus.
“Gather round thespians, I have some very important news!” Everybody eagerly rushed on stage, “It is with great sorrow that I have to inform you all of my official retirement.” There was a gasp of horror at this announcement. They no longer felt eager. However, their attention was captured by a man dressed in a smart suit wheeling a cart with a computer out on stage.
“This is your new director Mr. Tumblr de Chagny.” The man stepped forward, and cleared his throat. The actors stood, anxiously awaiting a speech from their prolific new director. However, their curiosity was heightened as the man turned, and pressed a small button on the computer, and promptly walked off stage. The computer began to make a soft whirring noise as the actors looked back at the computer quizzically. A small bell sounded, and the pixels lit up. “Hello” the computer said in an automated voice.
“He plans to direct this musical so that everything will run like a machine...Literally like a machine.” Mr. Warchus bowed his head and stepped back, giving all the attention to the new director.
The stage turned into a riot. Some wept silently at the loss of their beloved director. Some shouted demanding a better explanation. Others simply walked off stage in frustration. One thing was for sure, everyone was upset by Mr. Tumblr de Chagny. Everyone except Phil Lester. He was too busy thinking to complain. This computer was the same computer that he used to edit on so long ago. He knew it was his computer because there was a distinctive cat sticker on the back. The rest of the back was covered in all different stickers but he knew this cat sticker was his.
Phil was lost in the thought of his university years and all the videos he filmed. A pang of regret hit him. He almost felt bad for leaving that lifestyle behind him. With the pang of guilt came a pang of cringe. Some of those videos were inspiring while others were just plain bad. He could never go back to filming YouTube videos, especially since his own computer was now his new director.
Mr. Warchus interrupted the chaos by announcing that Mr. Tumblr de Chagny would like all the singing voices in his data before the director left. “Emily-May you first.” Obediently she continued her rehearsal of Silent. Her voice filled the room, as she looked smugly around at the actors, as if to say ‘ I am better than you ever will be!’ Suddenly as if struck by lightning her singing stopped, her eyes glazed over, and she fell face down on the floor. She was barely moving. When Mr. Warchus rushed to check for her, she was mumbling strange things like “What is my purpose? Is this reality or will I wake up in a new world? In all of the universes why was I put here?” There was no hope in snapping her out of it. The actor next to Phil yelled out almost in pain.
“It was the Phandom! The Phandom of the Opera. He roams backstage and causes tiny disasters but never has he caused a disaster such as this.”
“I don’t think she will recover in time for the next performance.” The director exclaimed in rushed panic.
“Is there an understudy for her?” Tumblr asked in his automated voice.
“Of-course there’s not! Emily-May has never missed a single rehearsal and is vaccinated for all types of illnesses!” The director was almost in tears, “We will have to cancel tonight's performance!” Arguments began again in the crowd of actors “ We already sold out!” “The people would never forgive us if we cancelled tonight’s performance!” “This is the most people we have ever had coming to our show!”
The director stopped the shouting by saying, “We simply cannot perform Matilda without Matilda! Is there anyone else who could possibly play Matilda?” This was a rhetorical question because the rest of the cast were adults but a mysterious voice from the crowd answered.
“Phil can sing!” Everyone looked around confused; it appeared as though no one had said it. Tumblr de Chagny immediately recognized the name. Phil nervously walked to center stage. He could hear his peer’s criticism “Can he even sing? You can't have a man replace a little girl!! I bet he has a cordless power drill.”
Phil channeled all these harsh thoughts as he began to sing. The crowd was taken aback at the smooth flow of his vibrato. The longer he sang, the better he felt, his voice filled the empty house like an angel's chorus. It was so great that it even seemed the computer was shedding real tears. Of-course Phil was immediately cast as Matilda and with lots of makeup and hair extensions the 6 foot 3 man-child had become an actual child. That night’s performance was the most successful performance the west end had ever seen. Everything was going Phil’s way and for the moment everything was perfect.
Chapter 2
Phil was enjoying his night very much. People were complimenting him and practically singing their praises of his beautiful voice. The person who was most surprised was actually not a person at all, but a computer. The Tumblr de Chagny was exceptionally pleased with Phil’s singing voice and how much it improved. He remembered when Phil had done a cover of Toxic and didn’t even use his real voice. Phil had obviously taken voice lessons but the question was who was teaching him. Tumblr was intent on finding out so he followed Phil up to his dressing room. Tumblr waited outside the door for a good hour but heard nothing. He heard nothing because the invention of earbuds was designed just so creepers couldn’t hear what you were listening to. Phil was listening to his teacher, who was in fact a tutorial channel on YouTube called THe_Angle_oftutorials. It was supposed to be Angel of Tutorials but that name was taken so angle had to do. Phil had no idea who ran the channel; the videos were simply black screens with a mysterious voice that instructed Phil how to sing properly.
Tumblr de Chagny soon grew bored of listening to nothing and had his owner wheel him away in the cart. But just after Tumblr left a voice filled Phil’s room “ How dare this incompetent peasant take all your glory! It was you who made tonight's show so special and yet his computed mind believes that it was his slow hard-drive that made everything run smoothly!” Phil recognized the voice immediately. It was his angle from the tutorials. He looked around the room but no one was there. The voice began to speak again,
“You were the star of tonight and you made your angle very proud. I am not here in your room but if you look inside yourself I am there. I control your very being. I am the Phandom of the Opera!” Phil looked into his mirror and saw The Phandom. He was a bit taller than Phil and was very lanky. A black mask covered half of his face. (It would have been a white mask but the black mask fit the Phandom’s aesthetic better.) Mist filled the room as Phil took the stranger's hand from the mirror and was pulled into a long hallway.
Phil thought the hallway might lead into a sensible cave decorated in velvet and skulls and candles but it instead Phil found himself in a modern apartment. The Phandom lead Phil into a room that was decorated quite brightly with a green bed spread and many other silly decorations.
My room is across the hall and the kitchen is down that way. Do not try to leave this apartment. It is not an apartment at all. It is merely a model of an apartment inside the basement of the theatre.” The phandom’s voice was higher now than it was in the videos.
Phil stayed in his room for a while taking in everything. Phil hadn’t had a real bedroom in 10 years. He had only had hotel rooms and dressing rooms. He liked having his own bedroom for a change. Everything reflected his personality from the posters to the lion and even the fake hamster reflected his inner sunshine. It was like Phil had decorated it himself. How could the Phandom know all of this about him? It was a strange feeling that someone he didn’t know, knew him like this. He began to grow curious and decided some questions needed to be answered. He ventured into the Phandom’s room.
The bed spread was pretty similar to Phil’s except it was black. The room’s only source of light was a lamp and some fairy lights, so the room was pretty dark. The Phandom was sitting at his desk watching a video over and over again. On one wall there was a massive collage like one you would see on a crime show. Phrases like Phil is not on Fire, 7 seconds, Obama Llama, Phil Trash #1, and Halloween Baking were all pinned on the wall with question marks around them. The Phandom became aware of Phil and approached him.
“That’s the wall of all the things we could have done together. It's what could have been.” His voice was so melancholy, Phil almost felt sorry for him.
“What could have been? What happened?” Phil could barely speak; his mind was so full of questions.
“You quit YouTube. I was your biggest fan and all I wanted was to be your friend. We could have collabed and lived together. I needed you to become who I could have been.” The Phandom pointed at his computer and the video he was watching began playing at full volume. It started off with a younger Phandom his head peaked a little on screen and after a painful jump cut “ Hi, so my name is Dan” His hands looked like they wanted to display a name but Dan’s editing skills forbade them to hold it.
“ I could have never posted this video without a friend so it has stayed on my computer as a constant reminder of what could have been.” Dan’s rage was very obvious, “ You could have helped me become great! Instead you left me alone and depressed with no one to be my friend and no videos of my own!” At that point Dan realized the fear he was causing Phil and changed his tone “ But what could have been can still be done. You can quit this silly lifestyle and we can live together. Not just in this dungeon but in a real apartment. I… We can be happy.” Happy. The word was so strange. Was Phil Happy? Could Dan make Phil happy? All these questions swam in Phil’s head and suddenly Dan’s room melted into darkness.
Chapter 3
Phil awoke in his room. Well it wasn’t his room, It was his room in Dan’s apartment. Everything felt familiar to him even though he was in a completely strange place. Everything felt normal except for Dan lurking in the corner.
“I was waiting for you to wake up.” Dan led Phil into the living room. The two ate breakfast together and watched some anime. Phil had never been more confused. Why did this feel so normal? There was a part of Phil that wanted to stay here forever; he wanted to live like this. Waking up with Dan and watching anime together. Filming videos and stealing his cereal. Phil could imagine himself living happily like this with Dan. He might even come to love Dan.
This was not real though. This was a fake life. It seemed normal but there was no sunshine and no windows. It dawned on Phil that he was living underneath his real life. Phil might come to love Dan but he loved theatre more. He couldn’t let Tumblr de Chagny down no matter what Dan promised him. What Dan promised was not real. Theatre was real.
“Dan?” Phil asked nervously
“Yes, I know what you’re going to say and yes you can go back. I’m proud of you and I got you that role for a reason.” Dan cut Phil’s celebrations short “But you have to promise to think of me and when the end of Matilda comes I want you to think about the life we could have and know if you don’t take my offer your role will be cursed. You will never be able to get a role and I will do everything in my power to make sure you are unhappy doing the thing you love.”
As Dan took Phil along the path back to the theatre, Phil’s entire life was crashing down. The only thing that made Phil happy was being taken from him in exchange for this stanger’s happiness. The walk was pretty long and Dan explained all their future plans.
“...of course we’re going to have to include a llama somehow. Then there will be this huge microwave with a ton of stickers because you put your laptop in the microwave and broke the internet. Then we realise a book about how we never go outside and the dangerous things we did while we were in the land of freedom.” It was like Dan was speaking a different language. He had obviously spent way too much time alone in his dungeon. Dan was insane and was forcing Phil down his insane whirlpool whether Phil liked it or not.
“We’ll be happy Phil,” Dan concluded. There that word was again. Happy. It didn’t seem real. Phil wondered if Tumblr de Chagny felt happy ever. Of course the computer didn’t because computers can’t feel but Phil wasn’t in the best state of mind.
They finally arrived at the theatre and Dan said his farewells but Phil couldn’t pay attention; he was too deep in thought. He didn’t even notice when Dan left. He was thinking about the events of the past day. Phil thought it might not be that bad with Dan and they could get a real apartment and be best friends. Maybe Phil could get back into YouTube. His thoughts were interrupted when he heard a faint tap on the door. It was Tumblr de Chagny. He informed Phil that he received a letter from the Phandom and knew was Phil was safe. Tumblr continued talking about Phil’s future in theatre after Matilda was over. Phil felt very guilty he knew he couldn’t tell Tumblr the truth about his or rather Dan’s plan.
“Tumblr, I’m quite tired would you mind if I rested a bit before the next show?”
Phil did not rest, he stayed awake pondering his misfortunes. He had a choice to make: he could leave the theatre and be “happy” with Dan or he could stay with Tumblr. If he stayed with Tumblr he still had to leave theatre but he loved Tumblr. Did he really love Tumblr de Chagny though? He had known Tumblr longer but his new friendship with Dan seemed to be clouding his opinions. He finally fell asleep on the happy thought of being with Dan in that cozy apartment.
Chapter 4
Phil had made up his mind. He would continue performing in the Matilda shows. He was absolutely sure of that. But he was not sure what he would do after Matilda closed. He had a lot of options. He could stay in theatre but never land a job because Dan would never let him be in a show or he could join Tumblr de Chagny and quit theatre and live a happy life with his computer or he could join Dan and live an almost happy life in an apartment somewhere in London. His future was unclear but at least he knew what he was doing in the present.
Eventually Emily-May recovered from her existential crisis, and Phil was once again pushed to the ensemble but he found that he didn’t mind that much. Being a main character was hard and Phil realized that being a main character had only brought him trouble. His minor role brought him less attention from Tumblr de Chagny and Dan hadn’t contacted him for a while. Phil didn’t really need voice lessons anymore and Dan wasn’t posting anymore videos so Phil had no use for Youtube.
But one day there was a note taped to Phil’s dressing room mirror. It had a number on it and as the days went by that number got less and less. Phil realized that it was counting down the days left of Matilda. The number seemed like a death count down to Phil. Yes he had once enjoyed the thought of staying with Dan for the rest of his life but the more theatre he did the more he realized maybe leaving wasn’t the best. His real love was for theatre. Not for Dan and not for Tumblr de Chagny. Phil had made his decision for the future he was going to stay in theatre. It didn’t matter what he had to do. He was going to stay and nothing could stop him.
The strange notes on the mirror counted down menacingly. Phil only had 10 days to figure out his escape plan. He was thinking of just leaving the theatre but Dan kept a close watch on Phil and Phil could tell. He could pull the fire alarm and leave unnoticed. Dan couldn’t keep Phil inside if Phil just happened to want to go outside for some groceries. There were so many ways out and all Phil had to do was leave… yet something stopped him everytime he got close. It wasn’t dan or Tumblr de Chagny it was himself. Could Phil be happy all by himself? The world seemed so lonely without two people fighting over Phil’s happiness.
Phil finally came to the conclusion that he had a family and there was at least one person at home to fuss about his happiness. He also missed home a lot. The problem wasn’t who was going to be there for him outside of the theatre but how could he continue theatre if the Phandom would stop the progress of his career. The answer of course was America. Phil could live in New York and the Phandom would never know he was continuing theatre. He decided to leave after that night's performance. Phil thought he owed it to Dan to do one more performance since it was Dan that got him that big role as Matilda. Phil began to pack as secretly as possible but he had no idea that Dan was lurking behind his mirror watching Phil.
Chapter 5
That night’s performance was one of the best the show had ever had. Phil sang his heart out knowing that Dan was listening. Tumblr de Chagny was in his usual spot in the theatre listening and watching Phil. Tumblr loved Phil. They both had grown up together. Phil updated him and Tumblr helped Phil edit his videos no matter how cringe worthy they were. Phil was giving his best performance that night and Tumblr knew that it was not for him. There was somebody else in Phil’s life and Tumblr knew it. But he didn’t let that bother him, Tumblr was content listening to Phil sing.
When the end of the performance came and all the actors came on stage, there was something missing a gap in the lines of actors. It was Phil he was nowhere to be found. The actors bowed as usual. None of them seemed bothered by the disappearance of Phil. Actually only one person was bothered by the missing actor. Tumblr de chagny was in complete panic. His amazing Phil was not there and he wasn’t backstage or in his dressing room. Phil Lester had dropped off the face of the planet.
Phil was in fact not off the planet but deep in it. He remembered finishing the show and then falling and waking up in his apartment bedroom. Dan was not there by his bed like the last time he had woken up here. Phil knew the way out of the apartment and he planned on sneaking out but when he got to the door it was locked and no matter how hard he tried he could not get it to open. He snuck back into his bedroom and tried to think of a way out. He could be here forever since going to buy a house in London was no longer an option for the phandom. Houses are too easy to escape especially with bystanders all over.
Phil finally decided to go confront Dan. If Dan was a reasonable human being he’d understand why Phil wanted to leave so bad. But when Phil got to Dan’s room he was met with anger.
“How could you? I trusted you and all you did was try to leave me alone. What was I supposed to do with you gone? Live down here forever and regret our future?” Dan was close to tears, “All I wanted was to be happy! Is that to much to ask for? “
Phil had enough of this, “Yes that’s too much to ask. Don’t you ever think about other people. You were willing to take away my happiness for yours and as soon as I tried to have a happy future you were willing to kidnap me.” Now Phil was the one with the anger “How could I do this to you? No! How could you do this to me? I can’t believe I once considered being your friend.”
Both Dan and Phil were softly crying. Tears rolled down their cheeks. Dan opened his mouth to speak but miraculously Tumblr de Chagny walked into the room. You must remember Tumblr was a computer so how he got down to the basement and through the door is amazing. Also the fact that he was walking was a miracle in of itself. Dan’s sorrow was overcome with renewed anger.
“So this is your so called happiness, Phil. A lowly computer. There are hundreds of computers like this one. There is only one of me. This computer cannot give you happiness; it only distracts you from the pain. How many years have I tried to be happy with a computer.” He picked up the computer and ,with Phil following, ran it into the kitchen.
“You may not remember my mentioning of a tour. The one where you put a computer in a microwave and broke the internet.” Dan slammed Tumblr into the microwave,“Let’s see what happens if you really put a computer in a microwave.” Phil’s screams were drowned out by an awful sound. The microwave exploded into flames. Dan’s body was thrown back against the wall. Everything was on fire.
Phil rushed over to Dan’s lifeless body. He may have tried to destroy everything Phil loved but Dan was still a human being. Dan was still alive but barely. He had a nasty gash on his forehead. He regained consciousness and realized Phil was trying to help him.
“Phil? Why are you still here? I destroyed everything you love so why should you be helping me”
“I believe every life is important even if that person is a twat.” Phil replied, “I also want to find out why. Why me? Why am I so important to you?”
“Phil when I saw you on YouTube I saw someone who had potential. Not only for my future but for your own. There was so much light within you and even watching your videos made my life a little bit brighter. But your videos stopped and the little light you gave me left. You gave light to so many other people and could have given it to so many others. I guess I thought it was my job to bring back the light that so many people lost the day you quit.” Dan smiled weakly with these words. Everything was burning and Phil could tell the house was about to come down.
Dan reached out and touched Phil gently. This small act allowed Phil to understand why Dan wanted so badly for Phil to be his friend. He saw Dan growing up with Phil by his side. He saw all the wonderful things they could have done together. He saw them laughing together and enjoying each other's company even if their joy was shared with millions of other people. Phil saw himself and Dan traveling the world and writing books together. He saw himself forcing Dan to do silly and things and he saw himself eating Dan’s cereal. He saw a happy life that he could have had. A life that now he could not get. A tear slipped down Phil’s cheek. This is what Dan had to feel every day, extreme sorrow that he could not get what he so desperately wanted.
“Phil?” Dan whispered, “Don’t allow your light to be hidden because I tried to force it out of you. You’ll always be my sunshine.” With these words Dan was gone. The fire seemed to be burning more than the walls. Phil felt empty as if his entire world had been reduced to ash. But he could not forget Dan’s words. He could not let his light be squenched.

Our Love is a Game
Lando Norris x Reader
Request from @jamieeboulos
Warnings: pinch of fluff, cute ending because they are the best
Word count: 2.7 k
Requests are open :)
Tumblr media
It all started with a phone number, an innocent exchange that would subsequently change the world you knew; mostly for the better. When you had met Lando, as far as you were concerned you had just met a 21 year old who lived in London and had a passion for cars. How wrong you were. It was only when things started to get serious that he sat you down and explained everything that came with being a formula one driver; more importantly the fandom that he was involved in.
You had always been a private person and admittedly this piece of information almost broke your relationship but after some time to think you had decided that he was worth it all. You both decided it was a better idea to keep your relationship as quiet as possible - you took every precaution to make sure you stayed a stranger to the fans.
For the past 2 years, you thought you had managed to stay clear of the cameras, the photos and the twitch streams but it wasn’t until a fan-made compilation caused your world to spiral out of control.
You and Lando were out for a run, it was a part of your morning routine - a great way to start the day and it was time that you two could escape the motor sport world and act like a normal couple without worrying about who might be watching. It was time you both valued and appreciated. On this particular morning, Lando had decided to add to his Instagram story, a short video of his morning adventures - the mist still hanging around the trees as you ran under a heavily graffitied bridge, the early birds song chirping animatedly. At the time you didn’t think much of it as you were too busy tying your hair back up to notice.
It wasn’t until you got home and looked at his story that your heart stopped, rushing over to the kitchen island you placed your phone down and ran your fingers through your hair. It was a blink and you’ll miss it moment but in the corner of his video - the last millisecond before it ended - there was a flash of a purple top (the purple top you had been wearing) and a swish of brown hair as you chucked it back up into a ponytail.
“Lando.” You called out, trying to keep your voice as calm as you could. You didn’t know why it had affected you so much - or why you were so desperate to keep your identity a secret. It wasn’t like you wanted to hide your relationship; you were the happiest you ever had been, everyday was exciting and offered new prospects - it was more that you were so used to being in this bubble with Lando, the idea of it bursting seemed rather unappealing. Usually you didn’t care for how others saw you but seeing some of the words that people used to describe him, it would be enough to trouble even the thickest of skins.
Lando’s close proximity broke your thoughts as he stared down at your phone, pausing on the flash of brown and purple. “I am so sorry, love.” He almost whispered, his eyes widening at his carelessness. He picked your phone up to take a closer look.
“It will be alright, won’t it? I mean, it’s a blink and you’ll miss it.” You had said, more to reassure yourself than Lando. He didn’t answer, anxiety building in the pit of his stomach because he knew exactly what he had started.
The fan-made compilation didn’t go viral until a few hours later - as it turns out that flash of purple was the perfect cherry on top of an unappetising cake. Lando was sat on stream - not that this was out of the ordinary and Max had decided to join him, leaving you alone to rewatch Friends for the umpteenth time.
The pair were sat reacting to videos on YouTube when a clip of a seal swimming into a shoal of fish started playing - the amusing part was that they kept quickly dispersing away from the seal in question. Unsurprisingly, they laughed and Lando spluttered: “This is me trying to find a girlfriend.” What the fans didn’t know was the apparent irony of that sentence and this was what caused the major meltdown; whilst Lando and Max were busy crying with laughter - that chat had filled up with the same link and references to the video you would be redirected through.
Max was the first to stop laughing, tapping Lando on the shoulder as he pointed at the chat. Hundreds of the same message filled the screen: “That’s not what this compilation shows.” “Lando, what are you hiding from us?” “Lando and Max laughing knowing very well he has a girlfriend.”
“Chat what on earth are you waffling on about.” Max chuckled uneasily, looking at Lando out of the corner of his eye. Lando sat with a forced smile, his nostrils flaring as he continued through the comments. He could only let out a tense laugh as he swallowed thickly - his throat feeling suddenly dry. You were still sitting, completely engrossed and unaware that Lando Norris was now trending on twitter.
Max had come up with an excuse to end the stream not long after, Lando uncharacteristically quiet. His thoughts were with you in the other room, had you seen it? Did you know? How would you react? He felt as though he had lost all control, like he had failed you entirely - all he wanted to do was protect you yet he was the one to screw it up.
“Hey,” Max nudged his shoulder, “It was bound to happen at some point. Let’s go and see if she’s seen it - if not then -” He took a deep breath, “We will watch it together. We need to know what we are working with here.” Lando nodded, unable to reply, his body went into automatic pilot mode and too quickly he was standing facing you.
Pausing the tv, you looked at Lando - his jaw tightened and facial expressions set as though he had just seen a ghost. “Is everything ok?” You asked apprehensively.
“There’s something you need to see.” Max reached for his phone, pushing Lando onto the sofa. You offered your arm to Lando, pulling him into a hug. Max pulled up the video and pressed play. A tense atmosphere held the room hostage - breath restricted and gazes fixed onto the tiny screen in front of you.
It started with a clip from this year’s Goodwood - Lando preparing to drive his last hill climb - you remembered it well, a McLaren hat placed on your head mainly to cover your identity; knowing that there would be more than a few fans around. The clip moved to 3 separate stills - all of you in your McLaren hat. One with your back to the camera, you hand placed around Lando’s waist, the other two a side profile as you spoke to Max.
The reaction was immediate, you slapped your hand to your mouth, Lando looked horror-struck and Max was watching you carefully.
The video moved on, this time a clip from the quadrant video where Niran trains like Lando for 24 hours - Lando and Niran were in the kitchen preparing to eat their breakfast when once again the video moved to stills. This time they were of your reflection in the oven - holding the camera. You had thought at the time, if you were behind the camera it would stop every chance of you accidentally being caught on camera. Apparently not.
The video had moved on again, this time to stills of Lando arriving on track - of course there was no way for you to get on track without being photographed and you were fine with that because you would just arrive after Lando either with Jon or Charlotte. Photos of you arriving with Jon and Charlotte flashed up - with them you were just another member of staff but put with those other stills and it really did yell out that you and Lando were romantically involved. Finally the flash of purple from Lando’s story. The game was up.
“Oh my-” You stuttered as the video came to an end. Fortunately your Instagram hadn’t been shown but judged by how skilled you knew the fans to be - it would only be a matter of time. “I feel sick.” You admitted, wiping your hands across your face. Lando still hadn’t said a word, staring blankly at the floor. Max was the first to come up with something logical, turning to you and Lando.
“It will blow over.” He started, “The fans will soon lose interest and move onto the next big headline. We just need to ignore anything we see regarding the subject.” He moved his attention to you. “Maybe avoid social media for a few days. Let everyone cool down -” Sensing your means to interrupt, he held his hand up. “I know you shouldn’t have to and I know none of this is fair but unfortunately people have no boundaries and believe because it’s on social media it is their business. If they were in our situation, I’m pretty sure they would be the first to complain. Let’s just go along with it for now. It will give you time to think about what to do next.”
Lando cleared his throat, pulling you closer into him. “I’ve failed you. All I wanted to do was protect you.” At this, Max got up and left.
Shaking your head, you pressed your lips to his forehead. “You could never. Think about how long we kept it secret for. Besides, until we announce or admit anything - it isn’t confirmed.” You offered, trying to soothe his worries. He nodded, still not convinced.
“Our love is like a game and it’s not a game I enjoy playing.” He croaked, lacing your fingers together.
“I know, Lando, I know. Let’s let everything calm down and then we can think about what our next step is.”
Weeks later and it was the night before you were due to leave for your summer holiday. You would be spending it with Lando and some of his friends and family. Due to the current pandemic, it had been so long since you had been away - even if it was a bigger group of you going; you were still looking forward to spending that quality time with Lando.
Max had decided to take himself and Tom off to the streaming room - leaving you and Lando to sort out the remaining items you needed for your time away.
“I have a present for you.” He said suddenly, his hands behind his back. You beamed, taking a step closer to him. He shook his head, “If you want it - “ He pointed at his lips.
Rolling your eyes, you pecked his lips then held out your hands like a child. Lando chuckled, “Close your eyes.” Hands still outstretched and eyes closed, you waited for Lando to present you with your surprise. He grasped your left wrist and attached something to it - “No peeking.” He added. A moment or two later, he dropped his hold of your wrist and said: “You can open them now.” You could hear the smile on his lips. You opened your eyes and looked straight to your wrist - he had given you a pink watch. You furrowed your eyebrows and looked up at him, his eyes twinkled as he then pointed to the orange watch on his wrist.
“Watches?” You asked, confusion laced your tone.
Nodding, he said, “We all have matching watches but in different colours - they are for our holiday away.”
You gave him a lopsided grin and wrapped your arms around his neck, “I love it. Thank you.”
In the streaming room, Max was having to ignore the majority of the comments because they were all asking the same thing: “Who was the girl from the compilation.” He was trying his hardest to keep moving off the topic, instead showing off the watches - it had been his idea, blue for him, orange for Lando, a child’s watch for Tom and a pink watch for you. He had listed off all of the colours and said who they belonged to: “And then pink-” He paused, mentally face palming. He looked over to Tom for assistance - he hadn’t meant to say pink at all. “And pink is for someone.” He cursed his poor excuse but as if by magic - Lando walked through the door.
Distracting the stream from his slip up.
Croatia was a dream come true, the hot summer sun on your back and the time to just relax and recharge. Days spent with Lando sunbathing on the boat or stuck in a tense game of Uno. Not being the only female was brilliant as well - as they got to go off and not feel guilty about leaving you on your own.
Currently, you and Lando were standing in each other's arms - the afternoon drawing into the evening as the sun began to set. You had your arms around his neck and his arms were around your waist, sighing contentedly you broke the silence: “This is nice.” He pressed his lips into your hair, a sign that he agreed with your statement. In that moment, it was just you and him - everyone seemed to disappear from around you and all worries vanished. It was the simple yet affectionate moments that had always meant the most to you. You felt as though you could relax every muscle in your body, listening to his steady heartbeat - you wished for this moment to never end, to forever be in his arms and to not worry about who sees you there.
Ever since that compilation had been made, the thought had been on your mind a lot. Were you ready to go public with Lando? At the end of the day you were both happy and surely that was the most important thing.
Later that night, you were sitting eating your meal when a phone was handed to you, displayed on it was a picture of you and Lando - in each other’s arms.
Instantly you knew what this meant, looking at Lando you were met with the same expression. He did as well.
You and Lando had decided it was time to announce your relationship, there was no point sneaking around anymore if people knew and were looking out for you. You had agreed that the best way to do it was if you joined him in a stream, that way they got to know you a bit more for who you were.
“Is it ok to feel as nervous as I am?” You asked him, pulling up a chair beside him. He was setting up the stream, two mugs of tea placed in front of you. It seemed completely unnatural to sit facing the camera.
“I mean, this is kind of a big deal so yes I would say, it’s completely natural for you to feel nervous.” He reached for your hand, rubbing his thumb over the back of it. Nodding, you took a deep breath.
“Ok. I’m ready.” You said, your heart beating at a million miles an hour. The corners of his lips turned up, leaning in to leave you a kiss on the lips.
“I love you and I’m so proud of you.” He admitted quietly, as though you were the only person in the world, his eyes flickered with complete adoration.
“I love you too. Now, shall we start it?”
Lando went to press the start stream button but paused. He turned back to face you, his eyes wide and offered an apologetic smile.
“What did you do?” You asked, a smile toying at your lips as you had an idea of what it might have been.
“Stream, meet my girlfriend.”
He had already started it...

Inspired by @ledzeppelinmixtape 's emoji prompt: ⛈
Read on ao3 or below / 2.3k words
It's 11pm and storming biblically when Dean and Cas's apartment goes dark.
"Great," Dean mutters under his breath. "Fan-freaking-tastic."
From somewhere else in the apartment, his roommate asks "did the power go out?"
"What do you think, sunshine?" Dean replies sarcastically.
He has a half-written essay in front of him, but he knows his old-ass computer won't last long unplugged, so he saves the document before shutting it off. He leans back in his chair, stretching for the first time in an hour and running a hand down his face. He actually needed a break from the screen, he realizes, feeling his eyes relax as he rubs them.
The steady rain and strong winds outside make an overwhelming white noise track, interrupted only by thunder that goes from faint and distant to deafening in volume. If Dean wasn't stressed out of his mind and completely exhausted right now, he might actually find this kind of nice.
"It's raining cats and mice out there," he hears Cas say, his voice now in the room.
Dean smiles, still rubbing his eyes with the backs of both his hands. "Cats and dogs, Cas."
"Right. Cats and dogs."
It’s really no use correcting him; the entire animal kingdom could be falling from the sky right now and there wouldn't be much of a difference. The winds are definitely knocking things over, and the streets will certainly be flooded come morning. Dean wonders for how long the university will cancel classes after this (if at all, the heartless bloodsuckers).
A particularly loud clap of thunder startles Dean. He drops his hands from his face and opens his eyes, expecting to see pitch black nothingness, but the room is faintly lit by the flashlight Cas is holding as he rummages through their kitchen drawers. He approaches a minute later and sets a candle down on the small table.
"Smart."
"Thank you, Dean," Cas says, sitting down opposite him. Dean smiles again, this time shaking his head.
If anyone ever asked him to mention one thing he likes about Cas, just one, he'd probably say how genuine Cas is, how he takes everything to heart and speaks from it as well. Dean said just one word, smart, a simple comment on the fact that it occurred to Cas to light a candle instead of wasting the battery of their one flashlight, and Cas genuinely thanked him for the compliment. He's just ridiculously cute in his earnestness.
Cas is trying to light the candle now, but their lighter is tricky. Despite living together in that apartment for a year and a half now Cas has never really gotten the hang of it.
"Here, let me."
Dean means to take the lighter from Cas and do it himself, he really does. That is 100% his intention as he reaches across the table. Except he sees an opportunity, and Dean Michael Winchester is nothing if not smooth.
He wraps his hand around Cas's, gently guiding his fingers until they’re placed just right, and the lighter clicks on with ease. Cas meets his eyes, smiling, and Dean can feel the slightest brush of Cas’s thumb against his hand. It’s a small gesture, but clearly deliberate, and it sends Dean’s heart into overdrive. Cas leans away, puts the lighter aside, and starts leafing through a book he brought. Dean’s heart is still racing as he watches him.
Scratch that first thing. If anyone ever asked him what’s one thing he likes about Cas? His hands. God. Neat nails, slightly calloused palms, and overall larger hands than you’d expect. Cas is an environmental science major and he wants to get a Ph.D. in botany, so of course, there’s a small garden on their fire escape. He tends to those plants every day with more gentleness and care than Dean has ever seen, and Dean loves to watch him, even though he has no idea what Cas is doing with them half the time. He just knows that not a single one of their plants have died under Cas’s care. He names them too.
His attentiveness. That’s another thing Dean might say if anyone ever asked. Cas left to visit his sister Anna last winter break. He left Dean in charge of the plants, three of which died inside the week. (For Dean’s birthday a couple of months later, Cas got him a book. How Not to Kill Your Houseplant. Dean keeps it on his nightstand.) Dean went out and bought new ones, but he knew Cas would notice the difference, and he did. He wasn’t mad at Dean though, and he appreciated the effort, and as Dean apologized profusely over and over again, Cas looked at him in the eyes oh-so-softly and told him he was forgiven.
How could Dean possibly forget? If anyone ever asked, he’d say that Cas’s eyes are one of his favorite things about him. One of his favorite things, period. Dean is absolutely mesmerized whenever Cas looks him in the eye, and the guy loves making eye contact, which means that Dean lives in a perpetual smitten daze. He has never seen that shade of blue anywhere else on this earth. Or maybe he just hasn’t been looking, content to get his fill of that blue by staring into Cas’s eyes as much as he gets to on a daily basis.
“Are you alright, Dean?”
Dean blinks himself back to reality. “Hm?”
“You seem… spaced.”
Dean is staring. He’s been staring this whole time. Shit. Crap.
“Yeah, um. Just tired.”
Mr. Smooth, everybody.
“Maybe you should go get some rest. I doubt the power will be back anytime soon.”
Castiel Milton, always looking out for you. It makes Dean melt.
“Yeah, maybe.” I wanna stay here with you, though, he thinks. Instead, because he’s pathetic, he asks “what’re you reading?”
Cas shows him the cover. How Not to Kill Your Houseplant. Dean breaks out in laughter.
“So you’re going into my room and stealing my shit now?”
“Don’t worry, I didn’t touch your Vonneguts.” Cas puts the book aside, an easy smile on his face. “Just wanted something light to pass the time.”
“You done with your homework?”
A soft yawn escapes Cas. “For now.”
“Dude, why not just go to sleep? You look exhausted.”
“Look who’s talking.”
Dean tries to deadpan him. He fails, because around Cas, it’s near impossible for him to not smile.
“Besides, I might be done but you weren’t.”
“And you wanted to keep me company.”
Cas shrugs as if to say I guess, but he does it with a knowing smile. The smile doesn’t falter as he meets Dean’s eyes, and he doesn’t look away when silence settles between them, the only sound being the stormy white noise.
Dean is sure he could drown in that blue and die happy.
Before that train of thought gets away from him again, Dean tears his gaze away and stretches. “We should really go to bed though, I’m not getting any more done tonight,” he says as he stands.
“Of course,” Cas says, but he grabs the book again.
“You not going?”
“I want to finish this chapter.”
The seriousness in his tone makes Dean smile. Again.
“Well, g’night, Cas.”
“Good night, Dean.”
Dean thinks he detects a bit of shakiness in Cas’s voice but decides that he’s probably just tired.
He gets to his room and changes into something comfortable, the first t-shirt and sweatpants he finds as he rummages in the dark. He goes to set his phone on his nightstand and crawl into bed, but in place of the book he keeps there and puts his phone on top of– the book Cas has at the moment– he finds something else.
It’s paper. It’s folded into the form of a book, like one of those youtube craft tutorials with bad music, and it's no bigger than his own palm. The cover is handwritten, and Dean immediately recognizes it as Cas's. He smiles, expecting a prank or joke of some sort, Cas knows how stressed Dean can get with the start of the semester. However, his smile falters as he reads the cover:
How to tell your best friend you’re in love with him.
With a shaky hand, Dean opens the small book. The first page is the only one with any more writing on it, and it reads:
You leave him a note and hope it’s enough.
Dean is storming out of his bedroom (no pun intended) before he knows it. He barely even feels his feet moving, too focused on the pounding in his ears and the dryness in his mouth. He doesn’t go into the living room, not yet; his feet stop at the end of the short hallway and he braces himself against the wall. The room is spinning and he can barely breathe.
“Cas?” He chokes out.
Cas puts the book back down on the table in front of him and interlocks his fingers in front of him. He doesn’t look at Dean– Cas, who makes too much eye contact – and takes a deep breath before saying “yes?”
He’s nervous.
Dean takes a step forward, still keeping one hand on the wall just in case, and holds up the note. “What is this?” he asks, because his brain is just not there with him yet.
Cas stands, still not facing Dean. “Dean, do you know what day it is?”
He’s asking this now???
“September firs–”
Oh. Oh shit.
“Cas isn’t today the–”
“The night we met. Two years ago.”
Dean feels his brain catching up now as the memory starts coming back to him. Cas helps, starting to recount that night.
“Two years ago tonight, I was leaving my night course at the university, and it was raining. Not as bad as this,” –Cas looks out the window and lightning strikes, as if on cue– “but pretty badly, and I was an inexperienced freshman without an umbrella.”
Dean remembers. He was walking Charlie to her dorm when it started drizzling, and it was pouring by the time he made it back to his car. Dean had a night shift at the gas station and was about to head there.
“Two years ago tonight,” Cas continues, “you invited me into your car to shelter me from the rain.”
Dean saw this guy running in the direction of the men’s dorms, which were on the other side of campus. He felt bad, and he had a car, so he opened the passenger door and let him in.
Turned out to be the most gorgeous guy he’d ever laid eyes on. He was a bit awkward, but he had no filter, which made him weirdly funny. He asked about the music playing in the car and listened intently to Dean's rambling. He laughed at his jokes too.
At the end of the five-minute drive, he said his name was Castiel, and Dean asked for his number and saved it as Cas with a thunderstorm emoji. Because even if he didn’t know it yet, Dean was already whipped.
“Two years ago,” Cas says, finally looking up at Dean. His eyes are wide and vulnerable and he looks terrified and Dean can barely stand it. “Two years ago tonight, I started to fall in love with you.”
Dean can’t breathe. His ears are hot and he can’t stop fidgeting with the note in his hand and he can’t breathe.
But his feet start moving again, out of their own volition. They move toward Cas.
“If you don’t feel–” Cas starts, but Dean swallows his words.
Again, Dean’s brain isn’t all there yet, and he doesn’t realize what he’s doing until he’s already in it. He’s grabbing Cas’s face, digging his fingertips into the back of his hair, and the note is forgotten on the table, and thunder rumbles not that far away. He’s darting out his tongue, begging to explore Cas’s mouth as he’s wanted to do since forever, and Cas lets him. He tastes like toothpaste and coffee and honey and Dean never wants to taste anyone else ever again.
Cas is wrapping his arms around Dean’s waist and pressing his entire body against him. It’s making Dean weak in the knees but it’s okay because Cas is almost holding him upright at this point. There’s another clap of thunder, much closer this time, and the lightning probably illuminated the apartment, but it wasn’t enough to make them part. They’re moving and grasping and exploring frantically, and Dean is afraid Cas is going to disappear, or that he’s going to wake up and this will all have been another dream. But no, it’s real, and they’re playing catchup on two years worth of desire and longing and love.
They eventually pull away, breathless and giddy. The only sounds are the rain and the wind. Dean opens his eyes first, needing to see Cas and make sure this is completely, definitely, unequivocally real. Cas is smiling and taking deep breaths, and a weight seems to be lifted off his shoulders. He opens his eyes a second later, and even in the darkness, even with just the faint candlelight, the blue in them seems to shine. And even though there's no power, it feels as if there's electricity crackling in the air around them. It might be the storm.
No. It's the moment. This moment with Cas is what feels electric.
“Come to bed?” Dean asks, feeling brave and going out on a limb. The only way Cas responds is by interlocking his hand into Dean’s and kissing him again.
And after tonight, for the rest of his life, if anyone ever asks him “what’s one thing you love about Cas?” Dean won’t be able to narrow down an answer.
He’ll just say: “Everything.”

On this day one year ago, Word of Honor first aired to Chinese audiences.  It was a series which came as a surprise to many, and one which didn’t take long until people were excitedly sharing their newest find with both their friends and others upon the internet, encouraging them to join and watch along. The early days themselves were a fun filled adventure. Many fans hurried to catch the new subtitle releases as they dropped onto sites like YouTube, while Youku’s release schedule changed to air the series quicker as attention grew. International fans went as far as to follow translated tutorials in order to make Youku accounts so they could continue watching via Youku’s own streaming service. And just as the fandom family were saddened into believing they would have to say farewell to these characters and the world which they had quickly fallen in love with, they were soon pleasantly surprised to learn that the majority of the cast would be returning for a sold out two-day concert event. While the airing season alone had been an excitable time to be a fan, that love only continued to grow long after the show aired, continuing to attract new fans through word of mouth and community rewatch events. Even now, it is apparent to see that the little show that stepped into our lives with a very limited budget and everything stacked against it quickly became something beloved to many, and it is both from the passions of the original cast and team as well as the fandom which followed that made it so.
Over the past year the fan community has created many kinds of works and been involved in a number of incredible projects, including two lovingly put together zines ( @shlzine and @wohzine), as well as last years Big Bang event (@shlbigbang) and the future Reverse Bang event ( @shanheling-reversebigbang). Many have also shared their own individual works with the community, expressing their love through many mediums including that of art, writing, graphic making and videos.
However, the community has suffered great grief and hardship as well as the highest of highs throughout the past year, yet the continued strength of fans has also shown their great resilience in what has since become a wait for justice. With touching projects created to show Zhang Zhehan and his family support after the events which transpired back in August, the community has proven just how much it is capable of showing love and compassion, not just to the cast they admire but also to the other friends around them whilst moving through this difficult time. One of the most recent projects includes the Zhang Zhehan Chinese New Year event, which invited international fans to leave their messages of blessings and well wishes for both Zhang Zhehan and his family.
In honor of Word of Honor’s anniversary, Immortal Wanderers would like to say thank you. Thank you to all the fans camped out upon this mountain beside us, who continue to keep this fandom alive through the love and joy of creation. We see you, we appreciate you, and we love you ⛰️ 💖
As a small way to say thank you and to pay the love back, a few of us here would like to share some of favourite works over the past year, as well as saying a little something about why these works in particular pulled at our heartstrings.

Song of Divination → written by bluemorningsoup
Summary:
The letter floated down to the Yellow Springs on the back of a dark river, safe in the glowing belly of a fish-painted lantern. It read, Try to eat, and ended, I miss you always. —What happened to Wen Kexing and Zhou Zishu in Jing Beiyuan’s first life.
Readers Comments:
“Love,” Wen Kexing finally replied, chuckling. “Isn’t it a funny story?”
- A story of love, told through poems, told through seasons. It's haunting and isn't that what wenzhou is? haunted souls who found each other.
The Price of Iridescent Wings → written by enkiduu and Leaves_and_Smithereens
Summary:
Wen Kexing throws Zhou Zishu into the past in an attempt to save him.
Zishu realizes time travel has consequences, and it is harder than expected to save Kexing from himself.
Readers Comments:
One of the earliest multichapter woh/shl fics. It's dear to my heart because when the fandom was just starting and blossoming, this fic felt like a gift. But aside from that it's a version of wenzhou at their peak and darkest and the struggle to let each other live. It now has an ongoing sequel that's also worth reading :)
Familiar Lives → written by manic_intent
Summary:
The chamber in Diyu smelled pleasantly of sandalwood and tea, wreathed with ever-burning lanterns in pale shades of gold. Standing beside a brazier, an ageless woman with long black hair brewed tea in a large black kettle, occasionally adding in pinches of ingredients from the array of dried herbs floating in jade dishes beside her. She was dressed simply in white and black, unadorned with jewellery. But for the immense aura of stillness about her, the woman would not appear to be the Goddess that she was—the ruler of the 10th Court of the Underworld.
“Lady Meng Po.”
The woman didn’t glance up from her work. “Hu Jia. What is it?”
“It’s happened again,” Hu Jia said, his tone heavy with grievance. “White-haired, at the Stone of Three Lives, refusing to drink your Tea of Forgetfulness—”
Readers Comments:
Manic_intent's fics always give me a sense of wonder and it's so hard to choose one but this....this one... What's not to love about gremlin wenzhou even as they reach the underworld? That nod to all the versions of the endings wenzhou got is like Priest writing extras to her beloved novels. Now that I think about it, this feels like an extra chapter to shl. A new but familiar beginning to a story so loved.
sick with love to the point of falling → written by SpringxSakura
Summary:
Wen Kexing and Zhou Zishu are learning how to lean on each other in times of peace, and how, sometimes, the medicine to heal is not a thing, but a person.
"The words spilled out of Wen Kexing, seeking somewhere to find a home. “When I was younger, I used to think autumn was sad, but my...my mama told me that the leaves only fall because they are tired and that once they rest, the leaves will be back again. They are only not feeling well and need to sleep for a little while, and though they love being there to shield the tree from the sun and rain, every single being needs to take a break. To lay down their weary bodies on the ground for a season. Silly, isn’t it?”
A lone leaf had fallen over them, coming to rest in Zhou Zishu’s hazelnut hair. It was a vivid red amongst the dark brown and called to Wen Kexing. He plucked it out, twirling it in his fingers, and waited for the mockery. For someone to tell him that his mother had been too nice and he too gullible, but it never came."
Readers Comments:
Autumn, rain, a head on a shoulder's beloved and wounds both seen and unseen. Told from Wen Kexing's perspective, we see Zhou Zishu, and it is beautiful, that I too wanted to say "Just a little more". This fic paints a simple but one of the most beautiful scene of wenzhou ever written.
Dandelions → created by rosenana708

Viewers Comments:
One of the earliest fanvids on youtube. There's a reason it has 200k+ views. The song choice is perfect that ever since I watched this video, I would always think of wenzhou when I hear "Dandelions". The editing is superb, from the coloring to the scenes picked. I come back to this video everytime I want to be reminded of wenzhou's early dynamic, the flirting, Ah Xu's exasperation, and two people bruised and bloodied, weighed down by their pasts. It's a reminder that even when woh/shl's early eps might seem light, it is in fact the saddest episodes if the whole show.

Endless Summer / 常夏 → written by stormoverdose
Summary:
Truth be told, he doesn’t want to tell anyone about Wen Kexing. On a superficial level, there’s something thrilling in the secrecy of it all, the idea of being intimate with each other only in front of each other. What they share, physical or emotional, completely preserved away from the world.
On a deeper level that Zhou Zishu is reluctant to confront, Wen Kexing scares him.
***
Or, Zhou Zishu meets Wen Kexing on a hot summer's day in a musty neighbourhood library and never truly recovers, ever.
Readers Comments:
I've read this fic (and its companion piece) so many times, I love it with all my heart. It doesn't matter that I know everything that happens at this point, it always breaks my heart and mends it again in the most wonderful way. This story makes you feel everything so deeply, from mundane sensations to the character's most intense feelings. Even though it's somber at various points, this story never fails to cheer me up when I'm sad, maybe because it's so easy to relate to its themes and it provides a hopeful resolution to all of them.
Rest Stop → written by Vorvayne
Summary:
You meet a man in a bar and go home with him. He's.......strange.
Or: one person Wen Kexing fucked before he met Zhou Zishu who'd say the whole thing was hot, but SO weird.
Readers Comments:
One of the best outsider pov's I've read, and such an interesting look into WKX's character in all his weird glory, in a modern au no less. The pov character's voice was so distinct and has you intrigued from the start. I can't describe the feeling you get going from the first to the second half of the fic, but each time I reread it, it feels just as amazing as the ones before.
A Curse Upon the Stars → written by quaint_marauder
Summary:
One is the Chief of Ghosts, while other is the Keeper of the List of Unfaithful.
They say only death and stench of blood permeates in the valley of ghosts. Humanity was a merely a weakness, just a weapon against you in the hands of an enemy.
So what of love? Can a ghost hope for a chance at love? And would the love of cursed souls rain destruction or could it maybe be their salvation?

Readers Comments:
This story has it all, from amazing worldbuilding to mystery, comedy, horror, and everything in between. Wenzhou are placed in a setting that's familiar but at the same time so different, and it's amazing to see how that affects the progression of their relationship, which btw is delightful!!!! As shown by the tags, it deals with many heavy subjects (also, the author is always careful to expand on the content warnings each chapter), so keep that in mind going in. But yeah, this fic has me at the edge of my seat with each new chapter!
trembling on the branch, unfurl your petals and grow → written by minnabird
Summary:
Ye Baiyi didn't wake Wen Kexing; Zhang Chengling lied to protect him and held the secret of Zhou Zishu's death in his heart; and life at Four Seasons Manor went on. Until, that is, Bi Xingming comes running up the road from the town and tells Zhang Chengling there's something he has to see.
“I brought him as fast as I could,” Bi Xingming said to the man. “I still don’t know why you had to be so secretive, shifu—”
Shifu.
Zhang Chengling’s heart fell like a stone, and he crashed to his knees beside the man, reaching up as if to sweep the hat off and stopping just short. The man lifted his hand, impatiently shaking his sleeve back in a gesture so familiar he was sure even before he recognized the hand, even before the hand tilted back the hat to reveal his master’s gentle smile.

Readers Comments:
It haunts me that I almost missed this fic because it's brought me such genuine joy! It shows a version of the future that I'd never considered before despite how naturally it comes to be, and it's so detailed and fleshed out that I was immersed in its world right away. You get emotionally invested in all the characters, even those with less 'screen time', and you end each chapter feeling hopeful and a bit melancholic. Reading it has been such a wonderful experience.
Big Cats are still Cats → written by Andreri25
Summary:
Zhou Zishu picked up a kitty from the trash. She did it because it was a pathetic little thing that was going to die, and Zhou Zishu wanted to be a better person.
Ok so maybe she was a little drunk at the time.
And mayyyyybe…. that wasn’t a kitten.
The vet bills are going to be off the roof. Zhou Zishu wouldn’t mind as much if the local exotic animals specialist wasn’t such a harassing menace.
Or
The one where Zhou Zishu accidentally acquires a wild animal. And a baby clouded leopard, too.
Readers Comments:
I wanted to add at least one fem!wenzhou au, and this one ticks so many of my boxes! Meet-cute!! Animals!!! WKX as an exotic animal vet!!!! And ZZS's pov is as funny and endearing as ever! This fic is funny and sweet and will make your day instantly better.

Ladyhawke AU → written and drawn by @rhymesswith
Readers / Viewers Comments:
I’m very much a child who grew up surrounded by 80′s fantasy movies - Legend, The NeverEnding Story, Labyrinth, Willow - it doesn’t matter if they’re cheesy by today’s standards, they hold a special place in my heart to this day. So imagine my absolute delight when wenzhou!Ladyhawke au hit my dashboard for the first time. Every piece added to this universe causes me to break out in a huge smile. The art is beautiful, and the written pieces which have been included to this series are just so engaging and brilliant. I love whenever the newest piece appears on my dashboard, as it’s always guaranteed to be fantastic.

Tasha’s art style is always incredible, but I lost my mind when they dropped their two-part wenzhou!Stardust AU! Another favourite story/movie, and I love everything about what this chooses to be. Wen Kexing as his obnoxiously strange self but ✨ shiny ✨ is absolutely perfect, and I love how done Zhou Zishu is. Tasha has a way of making her artwork so expressive in how the characters show their emotions, and it’s just so lovely.

This video entered my life and played with my emotions. It is a beautifully put together journey through Zhou Zishu and Wen Kexing’s relationship, and just how much they mean to one another. The song choice is absolutely perfect for them and the editing fits on point with the lyrics. I’ve often come back to revisit this video, since it’s one of my absolute favourites from this fandom.
in this lifetime and the next →  written by PhantomWriter
Summary:
Zhou Zishu was no better during waking hours, sparing what he could in reminiscing about what he actually recalled from his random dreams of a faceless little girl. She was dressed in hues of blue, sometimes pink with a touch of red. Effortlessly, he filled out the blanks among her vagueness: dark eyes in the shape of almonds, a button nose, pinchable cheekbones, and bow-shaped lips; altogether, they would crinkle adorably when her face lit up with a beam or when she stuck out her tongue in impertinence.
Albeit on a young girl’s image, those were exactly two of Wen Kexing’s trademark expressions.
Or, the times Zhou Zishu gets to witness how Wen Kexing handles children and catches extra feelings. ™
Readers Comments:
I absolutely adore this fic. It feels like a warm blanket on difficult days, never failing to pick up my mood. The whole family is present, and seeing Wen Kexing around babies is absolutely darling. No wonder why Zhou Zishu decides he wants to have a family with the man, I’d be weak to such sweetness too! The images created with the words in this story are so beautiful, painting vividly warm scenes that feel like they could be put to canvas.
In Death’s Bed →  written by jaemyun
Summary:
Word has spread in recent years of a temple on Mount Qingya that houses the god themselves.
If one goes to pray to the White Death, they may just get a miracle for their efforts; as long as they are careful not to offend, of course, lest they be carried out as a corpse.
The Prince wishes to ask this god quite the favor; help in seizing the throne. How fortunate that all he asks in return is Zhou Zishu.

Readers Comments:
The concept of this fic is one that is so interesting to me, every time it updates I’m excited to see what the next chapter will have in store. The interest Wen Kexing has in Zhou Zishu is so delightful, especially as his motives are truly a mystery to the entire cast of characters - well; except maybe Gu Xiang and himself. I don’t really know what direction this story is heading in, but somehow, that just makes it all the more engaging.

The winds of the heavens shift suddenly → written by UnrememberedSkies
Summary:
After a prophetic dream shows him the bloody battle over his disciple's legacy, Ye Baiyi makes the decision to repay his debt to the Zhen couple by rescuing their fifteen year old son from the Ghost Valley. Fate is unpredictable, he discovers, but Wen Kexing is even more so.
Readers Comments:
YBY has a vision of years in the future (the show's events). He decides to rescue a young WKX and GX about it. Such an incredibly tender journey as YBY figures out how to care for GX and WKX and begins to care about them more than he ever planned to. I love the dynamic between WKX and YBY, it takes very fun notes from canon, but there's a surprisingly sweet affinity that springs up between YBY and GX that lowkey steals the show sometimes, and the way he, WKX, GX, and ZZS all settle into a whole in the end is so good. Sometimes you come down off your mountain and you just feel everything despite yourself.
Siji Mountain Rest Stop for the Weary Traveller → written by sundermount
Summary:
“The souvenirs are decently priced, but the food is not.”
One employee, two uncles, a colleague and the (nonexistent) business of tourism.
Readers Comments:
This like, a highly slice of life thing seeing immortal Wenzhou as they are in vaguely modern times through the eyes of someone hired to help out in the rest stop they run on their mountain. With possible flavors of reincarnation, who's to say. It's just...quite lovely, and lets you live in the sensory details and in some OCs' lives while still giving Wenzhou's eternal wedded bliss and relationships built with new people.
this harbored deluge for you and i // 像我和你需要下一场雨  → written by gardencitymovements
Summary:
Three months. He’ll stay three months. Just long enough for that shrimpy Zhang Chengling to wean into this new world, and then he’ll leave. Just three months he’ll allow himself that brassy, beautiful line cook, who barked the most flirtatious insult at Zhou Zishu as he charged down the cracked asphalt with a towering pallet jack of wholesale soy sauce boxes; his voice magnetic like an army general’s, clear above the rumbling gallop of his condiment fleet.
-
chaperoning a new orphan across the Pacific runs into complications.
Readers Comments:
This author writes SO much lyrical, slow modern AU that doesn't shy away from canon's sharp edges and it's all very good but this is the quintessential one of their fics for me. Zhou Zishu arrives in California to escort Chengling and babysit him for a while; meets cook Wen Kexing and his collection of found family, gets attached to Chengling, and decides to stay instead. Excellent ensemble cast that comes with the romance, delicious-sounding food, slowly falling into a life you want instead of just drifting alone.
dear heaven → written by foreverstudent
Summary:
In a darker world where the Combined Six Cultivation Method fails and the snowy mountains become the burial mounds for his shifu and shishu, Chengling trains his martial arts under Ye Baiyi to be able to do only one thing: go back in time and save his found family.
Readers Comments:
I love time travel fic and I especially love time travel fic where a member of the younger generation goes back to help the older one. Here, Chengling trains with Ye Baiyi after a bad-ending AU until he can, like, use Combined Six to travel back and save Zhou Zishu and Wen Kexing and ends up in his younger body. So there's some excellent bittersweet seeing people you love again, some "hmm, my disciple doesn't seem quite right," and fix-it for a thing the author broke in the first place along with things canon broke, which is always fun. Also: I really enjoy seeing their version of adult, fully-trained and powerful Chengling.
you’re the trouble that i always find → written by sundiscus
Summary:
“Do you know him?” Jin Wang asks.
The ringing in Zhou Zishu's ears gets louder. “No, Wangye,” he says.
At Zhou Zishu’s voice, the prisoner freezes.
Or: Jin Wang tries another way to get Zhou Zishu back.
Readers Comments:
This is tagged "falling in love with your soulmate all over again in the middle of a nightmare" and that is so accurate. Instead of what actually happened when he captured Zhou Zishu, Jin Wang decides to try to bring Zhou Zishu back to him by essentially like...drugging him into visions where he can confront and kill Wen Kexing. Except, that's not always what happens, and it definitely doesn't work. There's elements of time loop, and dream sharing, and a thousand ways things can go right and wrong, and Jin Wang being unable to break the loyalty and love Zhou Zishu feels towards Wen Kexing even when Zhou Zishu doesn't quite remember or understand. It's twisty and painful in a fun way and honestly a very Wenzhou getting-together story.

Zhou Zishu, suddenly aware that he’s staring, catches himself because what is he doing creeping at a random dad but also! Is he married? He must be! There are two kids! But where is the mom? the...other dad? Why does he care?
He picks up his goods and walks to the parking lot only to see them again. They're 3 cars away! Zhou Zishu discreetly looks over and the little girl is already staring at him. He tries to smile sheepishly and the little girl’s mouth, in her cute purple overalls, goes “o” and suddenly grabs her baba's shoulders and points at Zhou Zishu.
"Mama!"
They all freeze.
In which: The world didn't give her a mother? No problem! Independent toddler Ah-Xiang assigns one anyway.
Readers Comments:
This fic is such a happy read! It's funny and fluffy and in between that we also get ZZS's insecurity to if WKX actually wants him. The premise itself is hilarious and I smiled while thinking back on this fic several days later.

Summary:
It’s during the Spring Festival that Xingming picks the wrong pocket. He’s fifteen, and he thinks he knows a good mark from a bad one. Readers Comments:
This fic hit me right in the feelings. It explores the lives of Han Ying and the rest of Tian Chuang through the eyes of Bi Xingming. It is beautifully written and I love how the author really fleshed out Bi Xingming, he is perceptive and funny as a POV. The fic is full of melancholy and it made me ugly cry. I love it.

This is a fic where Han Ying lives and gets to be a part of Siji manor. It's so well written and full of angst (hello Han Ying's unrequited feelings), but also of hope. Han Ying's feelings punced me in the gut as he tries to navigate his place in Siji manor and around WenZhou, when he has detailed insight to the abuse ZZS suffered in the past. The fic is very raw, yet tender at the same time. Which is a super effective combination for making it stay in your thoughts.

Time heals (sometimes) - 1
Tumblr media
Summary: 6 years ago, (Y/N) thought that she was finally taking her life into her hands, leaving behind a toxic and abusive relationship with a man who taught her she’d never be worthy of love. However, it became hard to ignore his words when she met her seven soulmates who rejected her without even giving her a chance to prove herself. It took (Y/N) 3 years to realize that it wouldn’t be her end. She would live on to prove them all wrong; she would become what they all thought she wasn’t: someone worthy of love. And as she stands proudly on the stage, under the  burning spotlights and the applause and  the cries of the delirious crowd, she feels alive. Alive, just like the bond she believed to be broken.
Pairings: Y/N x OT7
GENRE: Soulmate AU!, Idol Y/NAU!, semi social-media AU!, ANGST (mainly), fluff, romance, maybe smut in the series.

Warnings:  The series is going to be heavy with a lot of personal experiences  mixed into the fiction, so this is going to be kind of therapeutic for me. Please, consider not reading the series if you are not comfortable with: abandonment issues, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, self-harm (not descriptive and only part of MC’s past), suicide thoughts (in the past), toxic behavior, toxic and abusive relationship (in the past), depreciating self-talk and low self-esteem, a lot of curse, physical and mental pain, near death experience situation (in the past), and maybe smut scenes (happy ending though, but it will probably be quite the ride).
NOTE: So hello everyone, welcome to Time Heals (sometimes). Thank you so, so much for the warm welcoming, it has been my first time getting so many asks, I was honestly overjoyed. I still don’t really know what to call this part; is it a teaser? A note? A full chapter? I believe we’ll get some snapshot of memories like this one throughout the series because there is going to be a lot to unpack on both sides. I think it will be a chapter nevertheless because I have to establish some kind of order as to which parts should be read first, and I think this one is extremely important.
Thank you for reading,
-Dolly
Profiles #2 - here - part 2
Tumblr media
Her scream pierced through the air while cries broke in the frenzied arena while a single blond-haired man froze, emptily staring at the stage. It felt like his senses heightened; his skin was shuddering, his eyes were frantically searching for one specific figure while his voice was lost in his throat. The screams resonating in the stadium would have been too loud for his voice to be heard anyway.
Jimin knew he shouldn’t be there.
Namjoon had told them more than once that none of them should try to go to one of (Y/N)’s events. It could be dangerous and they could be overwhelmed; anything could happen to them and they would still remain a nobody who fainted in the howling crowd. Would they want to take this risk? No.
So, Jimin would have had to admit that going to her very first concert in Seoul since the pandemic sounded like a very, very, very bad idea. And to be honest, it still didn’t seem to be a bright idea now that he was actually there.
But he still went because he needed to see her for himself; to see how she was. He had so many things he dreamed about asking her. Are you okay? Are you sleeping well? Did you eat before coming to the arena? Are you nervous? Do you... remember me?
Maybe he was torturing himself. He kept on watching her lives, following her on all social media, always made sure to leave a sweet comment, and never miss any of her new updates... Maybe he even had a folder of pictures of her on his phone but he’d never admit it to any of his mates. Taehyung would probably take his phone away from him and delete everything and Jimin couldn’t let that happen.
He felt like it was cheating. Don’t take him wrong though. When he thought that, he was not really thinking about the boys. They did collectively agree not to follow her activities as an artist but it was getting harder and harder with how popular she got anyway. Moon was everywhere. In commercials, on the radio, her songs were on the TV… Even if she was known for refusing most of the promotional contracts that were offered to her, her image was still constantly in the media despite her avoidance of it. Ironic, but the media were trying their best to find anything about her, be it positive or negative. One day she was seen on her bike, the next, she was in a coffee shop, and it kept on going on, overstepping on her privacy as if it was just a meaningless word.
The lockdown had admittedly played a major part in Jimin’s obsession. Being in their apartment meant quickly running out of activities, and his job as a dance teacher was not really filling his free time (a lot of his classes were also canceled). It was also during that time that (Y/N) truly blew up as an independent artist. Advertisement on YouTube started being around her channel and her music, the recommendations he kept on seeing were about also her… Jimin’s resolve honestly broke easily. It was hard not to be curious about his lost soulmate even though he didn’t feel like he had the right to be hurting.
Anyway, to come back to his main point, if Jimin felt like he was cheating; it was mostly for her. After all, (Y/N) had no means of letting the curiosity get the best of her, to know what they were doing; to simply see or contact them. He had, at first, not really thought about that. Watching her content seemed a very innocent thing to do in his opinion; billions of people were watching her content, why should he prevent himself from doing so? Yet, Jimin could still remember one of her live she did soon after that interview she had given on this damned radio show where she had revealed who her title track ‘TIME’ was about… She had gone live the next day-Jimin had jumped on his phone because of the notification-and one fan had asked her what would she do if she knew that her ‘ex-soulmates’ (and those words left a very sour taste in Jimin’s mind) were watching her. The question had silenced a previously restless Jimin, replacing his initial excitation with dread while a lump formed itself in his throat. He had not even noticed it; he was so focused on her live and her upcoming answer that Jimin had completely missed the sound of a glass breaking in the apartment. Jimin had been home alone, so even if had indeed heard it, he probably wouldn’t have bothered to check what had happened, thinking that the wind knocked it over or something. Jimin had been so absorbed by what he had been watching that he even got surprised a few hours later when Seokjin came home and yelled at him for breaking something when he had been clearly innocent, engrossed in (Y/N)’s live (not that he could tell his soulmates about that part, but yeah). (Y/N)’s live would always be more important than some random glass breaking again in their apartment. Every object was doomed with Namjoon living here anyway.
On her side of the screen though, (Y/N) had seemed taken aback as she had read the question and had gritted her teeth gently. She had seemed to be pondering about her answer even though a lot of people in her chat were telling her to forget about the question if it made her uncomfortable (a lot were even scolding the person who asked). Yet, sighing softly, she had looked up at the screen:
“I’d appreciate it if you could refrain from asking questions on this topic. It’s not taboo but I’d rather not remember everything that comes with it. However, to answer this-hopefully-last question about it, I’d ask them to turn off my stream and to stop watching any of my content. It would only be fair after all. I’ve been denied access to their lives six years ago, why would they get a free pass into mine now?” She had not smiled nor had she seemed hurt by her own comment, yet Jimin’s heart had shattered in pieces, unable to press the cancel button.
Her voice had slowly faded into background noise while her words had been stuck in his head.
I’d ask them to turn off my stream and to stop watching any of my content.
How could Jimin ever do that? He realized that he truly should. Namjoon would even agree with you, as ironic as it sounded for Jimin. Namjoon had been one of the most adamant ones about rejecting your bond, after all. Jimin was shaking with bitterness while ‘Moon’ continued her stream peacefully with music. Jimin could only try to gulp his anger down as he remembered her crumbling features on that fateful day.
“You’re not our soulmates. This name on our arms means nothing to us. You are nothing to us if not a hindrance. Leave us alone.”
If Jimin could go back in time, he’d prevent Taehyung from spatting those words at her. Yet, he couldn’t do anything. Playing the scene over and over in his mind wouldn’t change anything. It wouldn’t change that she probably hated them. It wouldn’t change the song she made about them.
And worst of all, it wouldn’t change the fact that Jimin had let himself believe that their choice had been for the best, trying to console and reassure himself, even if he had already known that it was wrong. Tears were pooling up in his eyes even if none escaped as he finally caught a glimpse of her on the stage. Suddenly brought back to reality after his subconscious memory trip, Jimin finally connected back to the world, looking around while he was still frozen on his spot. People were still screaming around him and he wondered if he looked like an intruder. Because, after all, wasn’t that what he exactly was? She said it herself that she didn’t wish for them to watch her; so what was he doing here?
Jimin couldn’t help but stare; she looked ethereal, dressed like a queen in the middle of a sold-out arena. People were screaming her name as she yelled her infamous ‘hi people’. It was an opening sentence that Jimin heard way too many times in her vlogs and suddenly hearing it in real life seemed surreal.
Jimin could only watch in awe, entranced with her everything.
Screw the boys and what they would think once he’d be back from her concert.
He had been the one to find her six years ago anyway. He had been the one to bring her to their home six years ago, hoping for the boys to change their mind once they’d meet her.
