I took a (few hour long) nap after dinner today and, surprise surprise, I had another strange dream.

I was back in that void place. It felt like another spot tho, the vibe was a little different from the last few. It was quiet this time and had an even more empty feeling than before. Just complete vast loneliness.

I was there for what felt like hours. I picked a direction and walked, but despite walking for a very long time I didn't get tired at all. That's probably just thanks to the fact that it was a dream tho haha

After just wandering around for a while, I saw a little glowing orange dot in the distance. I started heading toward it, and the closer I got, the more it looked like a person. There was also a little green floating thing hovering around them. No idea what that was about but you know. Dreams don't have to make sense.

When I got close enough... It looked like Mikey. The little orange thing looked like Mikey, hunched down as the green thingy jittered around.

I tried to call out to him, but when I was only a couple feet away from him, some kind of.. invisible energy rushed at me and shocked me awake.

I was kinda disoriented for a second, but I got up and checked on Mikey to make sure he was ok. He was. He was just adding more graffiti to his room if you're curious.

I took some time to hang with mini-me so I'm only getting to post this now fgdhfs I prommy my nap wasn't like. 5 hours long.

I had this dream last night that I’d taken a supposedly boring job at a power plant near my small, boring hometown. When I’d gotten hired, I’d started hearing rumors of disappearances there, and decided to, er, entertain myself by looking into them. 

It was my first day of non-training work, when on lunchbreak I saw the Tenth Doctor and Donna Noble sitting in the outside lunch area, posing as simple, boring office coworkers at this boring power plant. I approached as a rookie and started chatting with them. After a few minutes, I asked them if they were here about the disappearances I’d been hearing about, revealing that yeah, I knew who they were. 

Then we heard someone inside start screaming. A lot of someones, actually. I remember saying “Well, here we go, I guess...” aaaaaaand I woke up. 

Considering that the husband and I are about to move from Asia to Europe to start a new job here in a couple of months, I do wonder whether I should hope or dread that this was an omen.

Shattered Jumpscare

People have been clamoring for some updates on the #darkxunshine comic dub, so here's a little gif of an angry goopy boi. This was not originally part of the comic but to help embellish the energy a bit I made this from scratch.

We are closing in on victory with just the dream sequence to go and part 3 will be done! Thank you for all your patience! Rogue and myself got caught up with irl stuff so that's why we couldn't make up the original deadline.

Looking at Megalodontale and liking what I see. How did the shiver first encounter Dream and Nightmare?

Context for any who don’t know: megalodontale is swap!leviathantale where the shiver are huge ancient megalodons, and the twins are smol mers with special magic that allows them to take on bigger forms for short periods of time.

The twins first meeting with the shiver was terrifying to say the least. They’ve already been struggling to survive, and danger lurks around every corner. They never met anything that could rival their big forms, so it’s easy to scare predators off with them. However, lack of food, ability to survive, and their big forms taking a lot of energy to maintain leads to the twins not doing so great on their own :( Human poaching eventually forces them to go deeper and deeper to try and find food and safety.

Insert the shiver. They only catch a few glimpses of strangely large lights at first, and these images tend to vanish whenever they get close enough to investigate (Cue the twins sweating inside whatever crevice they’ve managed to squeeze themselves into) Dream and Nightmare spot the shiver first and needless to say they’re scared of them ;;

Eventually one of them, maybe Killer or Horror, manages to catch the twins in their small forms and they’re forced to use their levia forms to get away. And now the shiver is REALLY curious as to who and what these twins are 👀 it’s only been them around for many, many millennia, and to find two others their size is amazing!!

Dream and Nightmare aren’t so enthused.

Months drag on, the shiver slowly warming up to the twins and wanting to help them, while they keep fleeing, scared witless. Dream and Nightmare’s health keeps declining. The shiver hunts them down even harder to try and help them, until one day the twins wander into a naval mine field, and Nightmare is seriously wounded.

No more running, no more games, they get forcibly adopted into the shiver and nursed back to health whether they like it or not. And in order to heal Nightmare, Horror, Killer, and Dust accidentally bind themselves to him as his anchors. Dream is endlessly bitter about this whole thing and just wants to take his brother and be left alone but they CANT anymore. It’s okay though, Cross (and the shiver) will help him heal through his own trauma :’)

Their first official meeting was rough all the way through, full of being hunted down, chasing, and forcing the twins to accept help because they really did need it

day eleven (100 days of productivity)

today was a whole lot. this morning i had my physics exam--i didn't do completely horrible but i know that if i had practiced more i would have gotten more correct. however, i will not beat myself up about it now. i am glad that i was able to maintain balance throughout exam block.

after my exams, i went to the library for a lil solo-date. my intentions for the date were to outline some youtube videos and do some market research for my upcoming online store.

library internet is my savior.

i borrowed my english book for next terms exam: the hate u give. i managed to do an initial reading of the book in 4 and a half hours. but now my back hurts, from all my uncomfortable reading positions.

i finished today off by watching like five episodes of alta. it's my favourite! if i was to redo one thing today, i would definitely take breaks from reading, perhaps going for little walks. it would definitely ease the pain i am in now.

(TOH SPOILERS!!!!!!)

I actually really liked the ending for The Collector! I doubt him “going back to the stars” meant he was going back to the other collectors, but I like to think he’s just exploring, looking around and seeing some sights. He probably kept communication with King and the others with a scroll and sent them little pictures of cool things. I don’t think him leaving meant he was just going to be lonely again!

He’d definitely come over every now and again and visit everybody, but him exploring the cosmos as a little adventurer is such a cute idea! It’s nice he wanted to go better himself because he realized just how badly he hurt everybody. He really needed a chance to learn what life truly means for mortals. I would have loved to see him get taken in by Eda, Lilith or Camila, but this was a good ending, too!

I think that his story’s conclusion was left open to personal interpretation on purpose. So maybe he stayed in the cosmos for a while, or maybe he came back to The Boiling Isles after a week or so. It wasn’t really specified, so I like to think he explores other planets and takes photos instead of collecting things. Maybe Luz got him a camera and a journal so he could document things! He comes back every weekend and tells dramatic versions of his explorations to King! (I kind of want to write a story about that now.)
