Hi. What if...? SJW is Ashborn's son this au. How exactly that would work is an entirely different question but! Igris and some platoon get send to keep Jin-Woo safe and then the gates open and Jin-Woo for the first time ever decides to try talking to the strange people he can sense hiding in his shadow.
Well, Jin-Woo is the oldest child, so it’s possible Park Kyung-Hye could have been pregnant with him before getting together with Sung Il-Hwan. I don’t know her age, but twenty four years ago (Jin-Woo's canon age at start of canon), she would have been a young adult, which is an age range where people are more likely to have flings or one night stands.
Ashborn could have been visiting Earth out of curiosity, trying to learn more about humans. Or maybe he was just bored. But he sees humans getting together and becomes curious about relationships and sex. And he either has a short fling or a one night stand with Kyung-Hye. He also tells her that he lives overseas and is just on vacation, to give an explanation for why he’s not staying longer.
Afterwards, Kyung-Hye either meets Il-Hwan or they were already in the same friend groups and know each other. They end up dating and he doesn’t care that she’s already pregnant. He’s smitten with her and wants to try and make things work. And later, when they’re sure that they’re going to stay together, he adopts Jin-Woo as his son.
On the other end of this, we have Ashborn who has no idea he has a son. And probably doesn’t figure it out until toddler Jin-Woo accidentally ends up in the shadow realm, to the astonishment of everyone there. Not only did not they not realize Ashborn could have kids, especially with a different species, but they had no idea his powers could be passed on! (That, he actually finds a bit troubling. If the other Monarchs could do the same thing, there’s no telling how their army would increase.)
He can’t have baby Jin-Woo showing up in the shadow realm all the time, so he reluctantly seals his powers, thinking that he’ll train Jin-Woo when he’s an adult. But then the war with the Monarchs happens on Earth and he gets caught up with that. We know the time loop is a ten year limit, so it probably doesn’t start until Jin-Woo is fourteen. Ashborn doesn’t quite forget that he has a son, not when he has some of his summons guarding him, but it doesn’t occur to him to unseal Jin-Woo’s powers to fight in the war.
Then the last loop happens and the Rulers enact their plan to give humans magic. Perhaps the seal on Jin-Woo’s true powers could be why he only awakens as an E-rank Hunter. But his awakening could have loosened the seal on him, so that he catches glimpses of the summons in his shadows.
He thinks he should be more freaked out by this, but it feels like they’ve always been there and he just didn’t notice before. Like he’s seeing an old childhood friend.
I imagine there’d be a major canon divergence from here, as I don’t think the summons would stand by as Jin-Woo risks his life for four years as an E-rank. Maybe they’d finally come out of the shadow and talk to Jin-Woo, maybe they’d contact Ashborn first and be like ‘hey, your kid’s about to do something reckless!’
There’s different ways it could go from here, from Ashborn contacting him directly, to unlocking his powers, to assigning specific summons to help him fight. Maybe a bit of a combination.
Ashborn may not want to unlock Jin-Woo’s full power all at once in case it strains his mostly human body. After all, if he had grown up with the power, it may have grown with him, but he’s not sure how it’ll affect him now.
Maybe he’ll have a similar thought to canon and consult with the Architect for advice. He suitably threatens the Architect not to share the information about his son with anyone else and then they get to work, creating something similar to the system. But maybe instead of quests and instant dungeons, its main purpose is just to control the flow of his mana and slowly make him strong. Plus, the inventory system maybe, with Ashborn dropping healing potions into it every time Jin-Woo gets injured.
In addition, Ashborn could assign a couple of soldiers to act as his summons. Not too strong so they don’t stand out while Jin-Woo is an E-rank, but strong enough to protect him in E and D rank dungeons. He’ll have a hard time hiding the fact that he’s getting stronger from everyone, though, so maybe he eventually has a conversation with Chairman Go Gun-Hee.
Not sure how that would go, but just consulting with the Chairman, both of them trying to puzzle through why he’s different than other Hunters. Maybe they get even closer than canon, developing a grandfather-grandson bond. It would be good for Jin-Woo to have someone to talk to about his stress of suddenly having to raise his sister on his own, worrying about whether his mother will ever wake up.
Ashborn would want to help with that, but maybe he doesn’t know right away how to wake someone up from Eternal Slumber. How do you use mana to cure someone of a condition caused by too much mana?
There’s also the fact that Ashborn could be communicating with Jin-Woo through the system, maybe explain why the gates and monsters are happening. It’d be both a relief and terrifying to know that these gates are meant to help them because a larger war is happening. As for why Ashborn is contacting Jin-Woo, I don’t think he’d reveal that Jin-Woo is his son just yet. He might be worried about shocking him with too much information, but instead he’d say that Jin-Woo is uniquely suited to this type of mana, so he’s trying to help too, and created the system to help regulate the mana.
Perhaps one of the biggest changes that would result is that Ashborn would be sticking around. He’s got a son to look after, someone immortal like him, so he’s not alone. He won’t feel quite as much of the oppressing despair that made him want to go to sleep and never wake up. Which, all in all, means that Jin-Woo will actually have someone to help him fight the Monarchs in the end. Neither of them has to be alone anymore.
Jin-Woo would end up having a mentor in magic too. Someone who could teach him how mana works, how to create things from it, and what skills are available. In canon, after Jin-Woo had access to all of Ashborn’s mana, he was basically left to learn everything by trial and error. I think he would like having a mentor/father-figure, especially one to share his eternity with. And they’d probably offer to extend the lives of Jin-Woo’s family too.
It would just all around be a happier au. Maybe Ashborn would get together with Kyung-Hye and Il-Hwan too. Since in this au, he had already had a fling with Kyung-Hye, there might be some lingering attraction there and if that attraction ends up extending to Il-Hwan...well, eternity is a long time, so feelings could develop.
(I think this is a good stopping point, so I’m going to end it here. It took me a while to get this done, but I have been working on the asks people send. It’s just in general, writer’s block, and I tend to focus on my fanfics when I do have the energy to write. And I recently started a new job, so that’s been an adjustment. But I haven’t completely given up on this blog, it’s just lower on the priority list (but still on the list). Thank you guys for your patience.)

honestly, with taylor reworking and re-recording some of her old music i'm almost desperately waiting to hear the 'taylor's version' of tim mcgraw.
it's such a special song to me, y'know? it was the first. i've liked taylor's music since her country days and it makes me happy to think she has a chance to see these old songs from a different, more mature perspective.
You know, anon, I totally get it because I'm right there with you.
Debut TV is going to have me ugly crying for months, I cannot wait to hear grown taylor's vocals on the most vulnerable album in her discography. I've spoken on here before about how sad I find listening to taylor's music in order because she gets so much more guarded in her work as time goes on.
Like, fuck, bro, you know my kingdom metaphor analysis? Debut for me is peak people pleaser taylor, if you read the lyrics to her earlier unreleased songs- you can see her romanticizing everything around her (even some things, that if are true, should not have been romanticized by her... there is a song she wrote about the supposed death of a girl she didn't really know apparently and that feels icky to me, that song can stay in the vault if this is true, she has several of these songs but i'm not judging her for it). These songs to me showcase the absolute burning desire taylor had to escape from the bullying of her ordinary life.
She grew up in the 90s and early 00s, mind you. As a white woman, of all things, patriarchy during that time was very oppressive to women and white women were definitely feeling the effects of it too. ED-chic was all the rage and white women especially were raised to desire the approval of the white man, against the warnings of everyone else. Like, if you look at the "chick media" from this time, it all serves to brainwash millennial white people at the time into upholding white supremacist values. My personal headcanon of taylor being autistic only further strengthen the desire taylor would have felt growing up around white people to play into this role.
She was heavily bullied and made fun of during her time in school, which she's literally the poster child for popular girl so to me that's so strange that they didn't like her. She wasn't poor either, she was well off and she was still excluded. It's really giving autism to me, tbh. Maybe that's me projecting my own experiences on taylor- i just don't see how someone like her could be socially excluded, to the point where she didn't feel desirable? It's giving autism to me. But anyways, let me get back to what is confirmed to be known about taylor.
When I was about 12/13, I signed up for tumblr and I was eventually led down the "truscum" pipeline, where anti-feminism was all the rage and being an "sjw" was cringe to the max. Looking back at why I interacted with the type of content I did, I can recognize my fear of being the "odd one out" at the forefront of this desire. It's at the forefront of all my people pleasing ways, and it's like coming off of taylor's early works in waves to me. That desire to be seen as normal, as cool and pretty and funny and the girl of somebody's dreams, that desire to be famous and show up all your childhood bullies and have complete and total strangers just want to be your friend and want to be around you and want to get to know you, I see that in taylor and I see the retrospective self-hatred in taylor's newer work especially as it relates to her fame-seeking desires of her teenage self.
Like, I don't know what vault tracks we are going to get from taylor but I do think we're going to see a side of taylor that we never knew with debut because it kind of makes sense, doesn't it? She's driven by the desire to make all her projects unique and interesting, she wants us to "keep looking at her" and she still wants to be in the spotlight and she wants to be a shining light, but she knows that she hasn't done enough. She knows that she's played it safe her entire career and I think that's why we got an era from midnights that was highly conflicting.
Like, even now, looking back at the promo and the ways in which the photoshoot is at complete odds with both the sound of the project and the public image of the project... it's really giving me chills honestly because it's her best era ever. I say it with every era but it's because it's fucking true, she really improves on her craft and her story-telling especially. Like, I fully believe the first ten albums were about taylor herself, and now in this new crop of albums, she's going to start really dissecting her journey to fame and saying everything she couldn't say beforehand.
I think we've gotten hints of Taylor wanting to be taken seriously, she's spent so much of her career parroting back what other people wanted to hear from her (like... esp ts1-5, those were crafted to the play the role they expected from her) but with midnights especially, I was kind of shocked at how many subtle shots she's been taking at her fandom especially. Like, "they" is often used in the record to refer to her fans and I love it so much.
But wow, let me get back to debut tv, I cannot wait to see how she reintroduces Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version). Like, just the title alone, it gives me chills at all the different ways she could reinvent herself. Like, the record itself, it is not very sonically cohesive which makes sense since it's her first record and it's like at the time, your debut was about showcasing who you are as an artist. Taylor picked the classic girl-next-door for the debut record because that is what she wanted to emulate at the time. She wanted to be seen as normal, as desirable, as the beauty queen. And that is why she starts her entire career off with a song about wanting to haunt her ex-lover, it's... tim mcgraw is who taylor swift is at her core. It's an introduction to the image she wanted to project onto the world for decades, until the negative aspects of that image caught up to her and she had to decide whether it was worth it- holding up this fake idea of perfection to the world in exchange for what/who she really is, when that idea of perfection that she was emulating is the ideal white supremacist image to begin with.
Like, oof, I am getting deep into the analysis of taylor's career and her moves as an artist but okay tim mcgraw is a break-up song about how beautiful taylor is as a person and how rare she is, to the point where she will change that person's memory forever. It's like saying to us there is a before taylor but there is no after taylor. Taylor wants to be memorable, she wants to make an impact on people and for a long time, she thought it'd be finding the perfect kiss and creating an iconic love story, because that was how women rose to fame in her time.
But as she's grown up and in the public eye, during a social climate in America that is tired of the image of the 'girl next door' ideals because it rightfully ignores the reality of living in america, she's gotten a lot of flack for not being perfect in her recent years because our definition of what a "good" white woman is has changed to be less white supremacist. Like, we expect someone like Taylor to change the world or at the very least, to be politically radical in her music and image because it's not about what white women can do for the image of the white man anymore, it's about making a difference in your community.
And I think that's why taylor has been shifting her image a lot recently, especially with how queer her image has gotten, I feel like we're going to get a lover redo and once she comes out, she's going to start releasing music that is politically aware and takes aim at the white supremacy structures still present in the industry today.
I just cannot wait to hear taylor swift (taylor's version) because I'm sure we're not ready for the vault tracks, nor are we ready for her retrospective prologue about how far she's come and how she's not the girl on that record anymore, she's grown and changed so much and for the better since then. I just cannot fucking wait for debut tv.

Responses - MJ (Part 3)
On the 28th of November, after fans had begged for MJ to write her OWN apology in the previous day, she went ahead released her statement. The apology was mostly the same as Serena's with few new phrases added.
Here she claims that all of the bigoted comments that she and Serena had said were never "malicious".
Tumblr media
Here we have the artist Lawrichai, which MJ nor Serena never addressed or apologized to. Is calling the artist, Lawrichai, who they bullied for her looks and age "Cooch lady", a "bitch" and "SJW hoe" not malicious?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Going on to then bully her looks and call her names? To which both MJ and Serena have never addressed the situation nor apologized to Lawrichai. Is "This b*sh had to be german" "only germans produce such ugliness" not malicious?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Is stalking and breaching the privacy of a co-worker to then keep files on them, not malicious? "Why do you think Sun is afraid of me?" why would anyone need to be afraid if your intents were never malicious?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Is saying "this is straight up mental r********** even the autistic kids would pity her" not malicious? Was it supposed to be a compliment? Clearly not.
Tumblr media
Is wanting to record Gen without consent, not malicious? "She does not deserve my morals" is this not malicious intent?
Tumblr media
Is calling her a "BBQ becky" not malicious? And then claiming her to a racist, when she has never shown to be, and without any proof to back it up, not malicious?
Tumblr media
"Raf smh the mushrooms must have fried his brain too" is that not malicious?
Tumblr media
Is calling OceanBlue a "gold digging murderer" not malicious? Calling her "Ted bundy"? Especially against an alleged a 16 year old, if we go off the claim that it is not MJ herself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Is saying "olivier as an america: get my gun lets kill them" and "HE WOULD LOL", not malicious? What was the intent then? To be positive?
Tumblr media
Is saying "a lot of lesbians here look like thev" about a transgender man, not malicious? Basically saying that a transgender man looks like a female German lesbian.
Tumblr media
MJ even points out what she says is "bashing". She knows her own intent here is to be malicious, yet in her apology claims it isn't?
Is "these european trans men are something", "what kind of hormones do these trans men get in europe", "bet it was Dr mike", not malicious?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Is "at least I have one", "I will learn to respect you once you have a 22cm" not with malicious intent? MJ never addressed the transphobia, and maliciousness of her own boyfriend's bigotry, and neither did Sun himself.
Tumblr media
I could go on forever here, but I will cut it short. MJ and Serena really make a fool out of everyone by lying that anything they had to say, never had any malicious intent when so much of the bigotry and comments, clearly did.
Then she moves on to the doxxing and privacy breach allegations, to which she says she "lacked maturity a year ago". A year ago she was 23 years old, and a fully grown woman. It is quite shocking a 24 year old had to be called out on bullying to see that it is wrong.
Tumblr media
Claims she never released information about Gen that wasn't given out by Gen herself, yet in messages, it was clearly shown that Serena and MJ dug purposefully for information which they then shared to themselves and others.
Tumblr media
"I did some googling", "I spend a lot of time finding outside of DG servers". So what happened to only using information that Gen shared in spaces present with you?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you never needed information other than what Gen herself gave out, why did you go googling and searching stuff about her? So far as finding her personal pictures and stuff about her family?
Apologizes to her in public, but never bothers to give a genuine apology in private. We can see here that this is clearly all for show.
Tumblr media
Again, to repeat myself from previous tweets, many people lash out when angry or frustrated, but if they are good people, they don't immediately turn to transphobia, pedophilic jokes and bullying when they are mad or lashing out.
Tumblr media
Why is this your first course of action when you are mad at someone? To start saying bigotry to go straight to disturbing jokes or comments when you are "lashing out emotionally"?
This shows that there is a problem here to begin with that is not to do with Thev, OceanBlue or anyone else.
Here she claims that she had Pinkie's profile picture on her desktop to revere google search it and find Pinkie.
Tumblr media
Even if this was the truth, it would be impossible to find her as the profile picture is Jennie from Blackpink who is extremely famous and has thousands of the same picture online, with thousands of accounts.
You also do not need to save a picture to your computer to reverse image search. This seems like a lot of hassle and inconvenience for someone wanting to find Pinkie, making the process harder for herself.
Again, if Sonia was truly a real person and "accidentally" got the roles of a staff, how would she know how to do mod commands and purge when her account only existed for around a month at that time? We save from the logs, that she was purging at the same time as Serena and MJ.
Tumblr media
To be able to purge in the first place, she would've had to write in the chats, to where MJ and Serena would've seen. She may have had to even write in the same chats as them. So this means that Sonia would've been seen doing this.
Sonia also appeared constantly at the side of the mod chat, showing she was online, and had access. This was only noticed and called out, when a new mod had just joined and seen it.
The new mod had just joined and already saw Sonia, so how did nobody else ever see Sonia appear at the side of the staff chats? If it was also MJ's mistake, why did she not alert the mod chat about the situation or warned them?
Almost as if everyone knew about Sonia's existence already. MJ never even addressed Sonia until the new mod called it out, and no other staff made a comment about it.
Again, if she is not these alts, why did she not address all of these users having a German Macbook (which she herself owns) while supposedly being from different-speaking countries. When fans brought this question up during chats, they were ignored.
Tumblr media
Again, giving a public apology to these people for show, but no genuine apology in private. If Serena and MJ were truly sorry for all the things they had done, their first thoughts and actions would be to go and privately apologize to all the people they had hurt and affected.
Tumblr media
Here she claims her review was not fake. The reason the review is fake, not because of what MJ wrote that she felt about Sweet Elite, but because she LIED that she was not affiliated with Dulcet, and pretended to be a random, disconnected fan, which she was not.
Tumblr media
Here she even admits herself that she pretended to be someone else and used an alias because she was affiliated with the company. So in turn, she admits she lied in the review, and tricked people. She then later fully admits she lied.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When confronted, Serena mentioned that her review of Black Tarot was not taken down because writing the review itself was a problem, but because the words she wrote in the review were not great.
Tumblr media
So if Serena says that being affiliated with Dulcet and leaving a review about a game from Dulcet, is all okay, why didn't MJ just do that instead of lying and pretending?
She could've just left a review as MJ herself, or instead made a genuine review and just sent it to Serena in private.
If there was an "anxiety about bias" why did she leave the review in the first place? Serena also says "isn't it a good thing she wanted to separate her CM account and her fan one?" when those two things can never be separated. They are the same person.
Tumblr media
To repeat again, it isn't a good thing, because she lied about who she was in that review in order to make people believe something that isn't real.
Serena and MJ both always mention "out of context" and "snippets" pretending that things are taken out of context, when in most cases, context is not even needed to see that their actions are horrible. Most of the messages are worse WITH context, to which I have shown before.
Tumblr media
I never claimed that anyone is a monster or used this word, this is MJ's own words about herself. I also never used "snippets" to paint her as a monster. I used messages which she herself typed and then decided to send, and then called them out.
If she thinks these make her a "monster" then she agrees that they must be malicious and disgusting. If so, why use excuses and lies to justify them?
At the end of her statement, she claims that she is not "the person she was 1 year ago", again using a distancing tactic, but also, lying.
Tumblr media
If she is nothing like the person 1 year ago, why then in this year, of 2021, did she make jokes about N*zis and W*rsaw Gh*tto? Why she and Serena rude and condescending to fans?
Why when only 4 months ago, this was brought up to them by fans, they again replied condescendingly and then justified their terrible actions with excuses? Guilt-tripping the fans who brought up the concerns and trying to make them feel bad for criticizing their actions.
These are not only "1 year ago", "4 months ago" offenses. Every year since the release of Sweet Elite in 2018, there has consistently been serious problems or drama related with Dulcet. Which spans from problems with staff, management, to fans and inappropriate actions.
The Dulcet staff members have a tendency to reply to only fans who support/defend them, and ignore people who call them out or show proof against their lies. This shows the clear bias, and shows they are not interested in taking true accountability.

Mmmm....Rant Time...I guess? I have to Get this off of My Chest.
okay..before i get this out there, i wanted to make this clear; i am done with mlb, what i mean is that, the creators whiny cry baby wuss of a personality, how he treated people from the community base itself to those who was just critiquing or asking simple questions - i............-nope, this man is a litereal sjw top tier one, you wanna know how bad it is? He made a self insert of himself on an episode of mlb to make people pitty him -that's how bad his mindset is.
The other thing that broke the camels back for me was when i started to notice the gosh awful writing for each episode, the emotional scenes which are rushed, it is why the va sounds so stiff not fluid, basically wasting these va's abilities on a show that is just an obvious badly written story that i seriously strongly believe this man didn't create mlb at all because what type of person, - knowing all of this about them - can create something as beautiful as this;
youtube
by the way ima jam to this till this cgi garbage ends 💅💜 fyi i even found someone who actually remembered when this beautiful animation project was out - what the story was gonna be like;
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
..so again, i ask; how can an sjw man, who complains on twitter, lashes out on his own audience while being a grown man towards a group of possible; teenagers, to kids, asking questions, to adults - about the show be the creator of mlb project?...
... He also is still on going for the false hope that he gave us which was a lie, that *this* beautiful animation of a show was gonna air, but nothing, he even discussed about a manga - like, nobody asked for this nor did anybody had 0 problems with this story from this animation here or the art itself heck the cgi is cute but the story is horrondus so it - .....it baffles me how in the heck did this person create such a beautiful ideal project?...to ending up creating this horrible cgi badly development character(s)(yes, i am gonna point this major thing out that others can add on if they please because we all are aware of it, it's not hidden), bad moral episode scenes, makes me barf that he tried to put his own made up moral - like stop,...stop. morality is just morality, not going by what *you* think is alright to do on a kids show, noting this out; i do get this is a childrens show but seeing how badly done this show is, knowing that this feels more like a scam of just dragging it on between two main character...i wouldn't allow (nor reconmmend anyone with a child or if you are one yourself) any child to watch this garbage.
I am sorry, but i rather read fan fic, comics of the community then watch this show - honestly someone on youtube breaks it down so much better here;
youtube
she hits the hammar hard, (note; this youtuber has also made different videos discussing topics of this show if you want to view them i do reconmmend it)- Oh, and the fact that the spoilers for the new seasons have been leaked out so darn easily, like, y'all remember the time that the creator got so upset that everything for this show was spoiled because it was that easy, unoriginal to just having everyone guessing what was happening in the show - to..a point that he had to keep everything hidden? Yeah...now everything is just out there and...it's still unoriginal, and badly made fic...
Now that we are on this topic of badly written fic..he destroyed the only character that i am surprised i find, for the first time, interesting, chloe...he destroyed her..see if you've come from certain people on youtube mentioning that the creator has destroyed chloe in a sense of redemption which she could've 100% had it be made - you all know, why he doesn't want it to be done, really disturbing stuff if you come to realize it...let me not drag this on; he hates chloe..... a grown man, that created a 14 year old child character -fictional, (not gonna justify how he behaves towards a child character) that was supposed to be this evil person ended up being much more better then layla whatever her name is - yeah.......to further add on; i get the feeling for the new episode - just a guess, if i am right ima laugh so hard, but to continue; when chloe finds out that she has a sister whether it be half or actual sister, she is gonna, of course, snap at her mom, despising her mom on what she did - basically whore herself behind her husbands back. However, this approach, would be dark, and make her mother even more worse of a character then she already is... - anyway - she ends up becoming queen banana...(the name tho..smh..also her outfit...ugh), after all her suffering marinette snaps to reset mode where she doesn't give a crap about chloe, and "lecture" her - a broken child, that you saw how bad her family is - instead of helping her out, which chloe had shown to be able to be redeemed to goodness - no she gonna lash out at chloe, making the new queen bee be better then her, blah blah..ya get the gist. (Note; i am not justifying chloes behavior, okay.) Don't even get me started with the horrible, unoriginal super hero outfits for ladybug or the other heroes......guys they all have the same freaking jumpsuit whatever it is called outfit as ladybug just different color, and pattern - nothing *new*
This is just a guess..imnotreadyifthatendsupbeingtruelmao.
Okay.....That's done, lets get to the main point of this post; do you all remember when mlb came out?....
Need a memory button? Here...
Tumblr media
The reason why i bring this up...is because...if you look at the release dates for each seasons(note; i have read on reddit, a bit year ago or 2, forgot, but someone pointed out that the team for miraculous had to re write each episodes for mlb - like the entire creation for how the episodes were made was so badly done,..meaning the environment was toxic) it...feels off..doesn't it? Compare it to any cartoon that has already came out - notice how naturally the seasons come out, look at mlb...you see the red flag? Why are we in 2021 still in season 4....when this show appeared 1st season in 2015...n..now i have no problem people taking their time, but this is different, there is no excuse for this especially when the creator believes...i was laughing when i found this out.. still amm...um that he is gonna be possible done season 7 in 2024..why does it ..let me get the screenshot
Tumblr media
..why? why does it need to take a whole year for one seasons to come out? this isn't an anime where the main core of its existence is based off a book a manga where they actually take their time, to doing other things - this is a regular normal cartoon..yes i said i was bouncing off of this show but i wanted to point this out for you all who are still viewing this show; (there is nothing wrong if you watch this show, just know that it's a bad show, and not good one)
Question this, why? .......Notice how team miraculous is making a movie, instead of working on the episodes, they're making a movie for the celebration of the first time ladybug gets her powers, - y...you would normally see that when the darn show has at least 12 seasons or something, not like this...
..Just think about it, if you wanna reblog, discuss about it share your thoughts go ahead...i need sleep.

hello <3 since i got these asks at the same time i decided to combine my thoughts on them in this post. yet another annoying sjw essay from yours truly on this blog
Tumblr media
before i get into these i think i need to preface why im like. i guess overly hyperfocused on a certain unproblematic base (same age au / platonic canon) for them and avoid the ped0philic content like the plague lol
tw for pedophilia ment, rape ment if that makes you squicky. ALSO THIS IS LONG AND RAMBLY
as i’ve mentioned a couple times already, ive been into the ship since i was 12, back when it was very very common to not only post untagged (nsfw) canonverse content of the two in writing and in drawing but also non con and the like, so you can imagine how bad my first impression online was. thinking back on it ...as a child i found it disturbing but didnt really register how problematic it really was?? (i know, but i also lived in the middle of nowhere and had no one explain this to me)
skip to 2014 aka me coming back to naruto at 17ish and i had kinda become hyper aware of the fact that there was an increasing amount of people online who had come forward with explaining how fictional problematic content, mostly pedophilia, had been used to groom them into starting relationships with adullts. it was also a time where a lot of people didnt believe these victims, not registering how common it was for minors to be online friends with adults who had no boundaries and no qualms exposing them such content. not gonna get into my personal life here but i was lucky to not having gone through this myself. like... it kinda was my first time truly realising how fiction can EASILY be used to manipulate others irl (and yes i will not argue this, if you dont think fictional media can form and manipulate people’s opinions on attitudes, countries, cultures and virtues, pick up a book about the effects of propaganda media at least once please)
i, being young, still liking the dynamic but not really the romance, would point this out here and there in the fandom and get into fights with grown adults in their mid 20s who assumed i automatically hated the ship(s) and tried to restrict their freedom of speech or whatever, heard everything from the “age of consent doesnt exist in naruto” to the “sasori looks like a child what does it matter” despite people clearly playing on him being older and experienced. it made me so upset that people were just consuming all this content uncritically and exposing children to it tbh?? not really just sos but a lot of minor/adult ships in naruto in general. and thats where i sat down and thought, i do not want to be a grown adult talking down to children that point out how unsafe the fandom is. theyre absolutely right in drawing these boundaries and calling out adults who defend the uncritical consumption and creation of this content. i do not want to consume or create content that predators could use to groom minors, and i absolutely do want to let younger people in fandom know that i am respecting their comfort zones and want them to have a safe and fun experience. after all, naruto is not an adult show and i think a lot of people forget that!!!! i am not perfect in that regard but its something that i, at the age of 23, am very passionate about and strive towards to.
and i guess thats where same age au was born for me and i have been sticking to it ever since.
so finally we can move to the first question
Tumblr media
aside from the fact that we both dont like canon sos, i dont think it would work out even if i wasnt prejudiced to it anyways. in all honesty, 35 year old canon sasori is not a redeemable character to me, given the fact that he’s easily amongst the cruelest villains in naruto (torturing and killing and taxiderming people for his own fun personal gain, never for a goal that served anyone but himself. how do you redeem having over 300 corpses in your backpack that you felt absolutely no remorse for killing). sasori was legit one of the only cruel villains that didnt had someone else pull the strings, which sends a clear message on kishi’s part, who absolutely loves to redeem villains LOL.
being that old, he obviously had already been very manifested in what he believed in, even if it was shakey, to the point where the first crack in that world view (sakura and chiyo protecting each other) immediately had him give up on his life all together. that, in my opinion, is not a man who’s going to know what healthy relationships would look like, regardless of it being romantic or not. 35 year old sasori to me has the same appeal as an expired can of tuna and he’s probably very happy 6 feet under. he’s supposed to be a failed gaara in that sense that he had no one to look out for him and therefore was never going to experience anything but a bad ending in life. its fine that hes dead honestly, it wraps up his short character development the best IMO.
adding to that, seriously, sakura was obviously interested in knowing why he was that way, and called him out for being seriously fucked in the head, but it’s weird to me that people assume she had any interest in actively rehabilitating him, let alone starting a serious romantic relationship with him. sakura who’s not only very, uhm, immature and straight forward when it comes to her romantic viewpoints also, as a big bootlicker, wouldnt soil her standing in the village by starting anything with a disgraced and far too gone criminal like sasori. shipping that version of sasori with sakura intimately is still going to set her up for a huge power imbalance that would be difficult to handle imo, even if she was the one in the fight ultimately exerting her power over him. i would still look at it and think damn she deserves better than having to play therapist for man like that lol.
additionally, even if you ignored all of this, you cant really ignore that sasori had already known her as a child, and that had been his first and most impactful impression of her. i dont think that sasori would look at 35 year old sakura and see her as a grown woman and not the little green girl she was in the fight. plus, you easily fall into predatory comparison territory between the “childish” and “womanly” and i have seen way too often in fic just being boiled down to her now being fuckable. a lot of of ships do this and i would just like to remind yall thats it not normal for adults to want to start relationships with children they have seen grown up or known as a child when they themselves were fully grown adults. therefore, maybe if sakura hadnt met sasori before it would be less of a problem? but that also obviously defeats the point of the dynamic and the reason he died in the first place. so yeah, it sounds kind of doomed especially if you were to make it romantic.
WHICH BRINGS ME TO THE SECOND QUESTION
Tumblr media
let me preface this that im not fundamentally against age gaps, even if im not super interested in it. after all, colorblind had a 5 yr age gap (with sakura being 21), even if, say, i wrote similar fics today i probably would make it smaller lol. i think it can be handled well if both parties have enough life experience to deal with it, and the author is cautious of where the age gap starts, i think a 10+ year age gap would be fine in a scenario where the younger party (i guess sakura) was at least 25-27ish, meaning she has completed most of her most formative life stages and probably had been in relationships before, meaning she would be able to handle it without having to fear a huge power imbalance. the older the younger party is the less the age gap is going to matter tbh .TsukiHoshino and AngelOfDeath10 both handle age gaps in their fics really well imo, so i do not mind reading about them.
unfortunately, a lot of people in this fandom think making sakura barely "”””legal””””” (18, not even 20 which is hilarious to me because the source material is obviously japanese) because they both cannot stand her being past her “prime years” of being young fertile and fuckable to much older men as well as thinking a 20 year old is automatically old enough to handle that type of relationship. ive seen a lot of unironic takes that believe it will absolve them of callout posts if they throw around age of consent and “shes 18 now suckers!!!” enough lmfao. absolutely hilarious. aging a minor up without aging the adult down seriously reeks of predatory “cant wait until youre 18″ narratives and thats why i find it similarly disturbing as straight up pedo shipping.
ultimately, sasosaku is and will always be a inherently problematic ship in canon, which is why i think it should always be handled a little more responsibly in fandom spaces, ignoring or outright excusing the main problem factor, which is sasori, isnt going to convince anyone that the dynamic in itself is well written and interesting enough to explore in aus, like giving sasori the redemption most of us wanted him to have by aging him down to a point in time where he was still realistically going to allow being positively influenced, similar to gaara.
so really, what i think is well handled age gap and how most people handle age gap in the naruto fandom are two different worlds at times lol
tl;dr
canon shippers have never been anything but gross when i was younger and i didnt wanna be like that, even if youre “smart”enough to differenate, actual creeps dont really care and might use your content to blur the lines, sasori isnt rly redeemable so romantic canonverse realistically wouldnt make much sense and is still iffy, age gaps are fine if they are handled well, but given that the dynamic doesnt really need the age gap to still work im not that invested on making that an essential part of my shipping experience.
thank you for reading and hope this makes sense!

Omg I'm right there with ya, purity culture has me at wits end. I've been seeing upwards of 5 posts a day talking about how "problematic" a new show, etc is and it's so tiring. People are so absorbed in technology that I think it's hard for some to differentiate between entertainment and politics/social justice. Every TV show has to be politically correct and progressive. Nothing can be solely for entertainment anymore. Even creators have to publicly disclose their beliefs to be allowed to exist
Honestly, every show is problematic (yeah cliche saying, but it’s a given) and sometimes we gotta look at that, but also like...analyzing that aspect isn’t “real activism” ya know? It feels like people are doing it to “look good” for others. Whoever can pinpoint the “problem” (or make up “plausible” shit with buzzwords) first gets brownie points. And sometimes I just want to watch dumb, problematic shit and talk about how much I love it without having to preface it with “well, I know its problematic but...” like some self-flagellating heretic or have people go at me with “did you know???”.
It’s like you can’t just say “I hated this show.” There has to be a “social justice-related” reason to it. Idk if I’m making sense, but I’m talking about “Rebecca Sugar supports fascists b/c the Gems didn’t die for their war crimes” level of bullshit and that was a real, straightfaced take back in the day.
Not every show has to deal with some deep issue either. Sometimes its brainless fun or a time passer.
Also you (general you) have gotta consider the different in culture and society. A lot of the times, things don’t necessarily translate. The “LGBT+” scene is radically different in some aspects between Western and Eastern Cultures at times. A lot of what I see is that some people overlay their own experiences with Western Society to Eastern Media with no understanding of the culture or atmosphere (ex. MDZS). I’ve seen people get on shows b/c it doesn’t fit their standards of what’s acceptable/cultural nuance didn’t translate.
Like I’m sorry, but shipping, show analysis, and whinging (as fun as it is) isn’t “real activism” unless it brings about a change or helps to bring about a change. Like...yes sometimes awfulness in shows must be talked about, but you don’t gotta do it with every show. Like...I used to be that way during my “Tumblr SJW” phase (and I use that with full seriousness b/c it was comical how stereotypical I was; I’m still left leaning but I am so glad I grew out of that shit), and it felt like shit to be angry all the time over cartoons and fiction.
Like...there is things to be said (and needs to be said) about the portrayals of minorities, women, other marginalized groups, etc. but I feel like a lot of people online have oversimplified the issues to the extent where it reflects American values, shallow analysis (in relation to media, culture, and tinged with their own personal tastes), and lacks the nuance of history, world politics, cultural understanding, etc.
Outside of that word salad, it’s basically...most people don’t have the understanding or qualifications to make broad claims as they do. It tends to be based on personal opinion and the assumption that everyone else in their group sees media in the same way. Anyone who doesn’t isn’t “knowledgable” enough or has some internalized issue. The “ad hominem.”
And part of it is because the world has grown to the point where the things you consume are your identity (ie. Consumerism on steroids). Everyone’s online idenitity (and real life identity tbh) and what they like habe been commodified and meshed together so much that people now “live” online. The whole problem of “what you consume is who you are” alongside the idea that everyone has to be “transparent” about their sex, gender, beliefs, etc.
Like...the whole movement of “unless you’re part of a group, you can’t make an ‘authentic’ character of thst group” for example. Yes, be respectful and there are some boundaries in creation, but like...I’ve seen creators out themselves and potentially their trauma as well so they aren’t ridiculed.
It’s honestly frightening to me b/c it forces creators to “out” themselves or face a dogpile and the end of a career.
I went on a tangent but it’s basically...sometimes politics and media can exist seperately (for the media piece in relation to enjoyment)/you don’t gotta nitpick every single thing/show visible and performative disgust. And you don’t need a “political” reason to hate it/love it or to broadcast it every time.
Idk, this is long and rambling but it’s late and hopefully it makes a smidge of sense.
Honestly it’s worse on Twitter. I’ve seen over 20 threads per day w/ luke warm takes with 10,000s of likes...like for example, they’re bullying the voice of Zuko rn for liking Zuko/Katara and that “Zuko and Katara can’t happen b/c its imperialism and colonialism” thread. Just say you don’t like it and go...not everything has to be political (Atla is to an extent considering subject matter but like...not every reason ya know? And it’s a children’s cartoon not CNN).

It's heavily discouraging to see so many poc over on Twitter act like they've been morally correct their entire lives and if anyone fell into the right wing rabbit hole as a child they were a nazi and always will be
Like they never think about the environment this person grew up in, how vulnerable children can be to reactionary content and weirdos on the internet, or anything else that might be related to how easily you could fall down that rabbit hole and they generally think it's racist white kids that fall into this shit.
The truth is anyone can fall into this, whether it be to grift and get financial gain, whether it's something they've been raised by shitty family members to believe, or they are vulnerable children who just accidentally click on reactionary videos one day and fall into it.
Like, I'm black, born in a southern state that touches Florida that consistently makes bad decisions because our governor thinks we can just fix things ourselves even though nearly everything in this state needs to be rebuilt, raised by my grandparents in an area that is mostly older people and no one my age for my entire life, they claim to be democratic despite having many right wing beliefs, they claim to be Christian despite never going to church since I was born and I've never seen either read the bible, and bullied my entire life unable to fight back because my grandparents hate when I fight back despite wondering why I don't fight back, and due to school being the only place where I can interact with other people my age, I was never called a slur or told to pick cotton by basically a grown ass man until I was 14 in my freshman year if high school.
On top of all of this, gamergate was happening, reactionary and anti sjw content was on the rise and you couldn't go anywhere online without seeing it, and I was still struggling with my identity to some extent.
Now this is the part which makes you wonder...
With all these conditions, where would one end up.
I'll tell you where I ended up, I ended up slowly making a descent down the alt right rabbit hole, I watched fuckers like leafyishere and lt. corbis (both of whom last time I checked are batshit insane and also vehemently racist with the latter saying the n slur multiple times when I visited just one of her livestreams before bailing), I also watched shitheads like Keemstar, thequartering, pdp, that weirdo PKrussl, and idubbz, and all of that caused extreme brainrot that I had to unlearn as fast as I could.
Like bro you CANNOT tell me you've been morally correct your entire life especially if you grew up unsupervised on the internet since the early to mid 2000s like I had. You can't tell me especially if you were a kid that grew up unsupervised too, that you didn't end up watching or seeing fucked up jokes that you didn't realize was fucked up so you laughed and thought it was funny, you can't tell me you didn't watch anyone online that ended up being outted for something or revealed to be an utterly shit person.
MOST PEOPLE on this fucking planet aren't born fucking angels with everyone around them being good and utterly based people. If you had that fucking luxury you can't just go around saying that if you fell into the rabbit hole you're dumb, racist, and will always be nazi, that's like the worst fucking take you can have in regards to someone whose clearly learned and educated themselves since then talking about what they fell into as a dumb kid. You can't just justify calling someone a nazi for falling into that rhetoric especially as a child by saying "you weren't the one harmed and called slurs because of all of that"
Like ?????
You can still be called slurs and harmed because of your identity and STILL fall into harmful rhetoric, ESPECIALLY so if you are a dumb kid whose like 15 or younger. Your justification for saying this towards anyone that is now left leaning and clearly learned from their mistakes falters and makes zero sense here.
People, especially poc on the left NEED to start talking about the indoctrination they experienced when they were younger instead of acting like you've been morally correct your entire lives and never once said or did anything that was wrong, as long as you've changed since then, it has no affect on who you currently are as long as you've acknowledged the shitty things you fell into.

Final Fantasy XV Review
Tumblr media
Year: 2016
Original Platform: PlayStation 4
Also available on: PC (Steam), XBox One
Version I Played: PlayStation 4
Here we go. The final Final Fantasy review of the main single-player games. I just want to say, first off, we’ve been waiting for this game since 2006. It took them ten damn years to finally release this game. I clearly remember the teaser trailer they released when it was called Final Fantasy XIII Versus, and my next-door neighbor and I were so hyped for this game when we were freaking teenagers. After years of delays, Square Enix revamped it into Final Fantasy XV.
Did it live up to the wait? Well, read and find out.
Synopsis:
Noctis Lucis Caelum is the heir to the throne of the kingdom of Lucis. On his birthday, he sets off with his three best friends and bodyguards (Ignis, Prompto, Gladio) to marry his betrothed, Lunafreya. The marriage is supposed to be a political one, though Noct and Lunafreya had grown up together and become fond of each other. But peace turns to war as the empire of Niflheim betrays Insomnia and invades. Noct, now on the run, has to reclaim his right to the throne by collecting the necessary family heirlooms which will banish the darkness.
Gameplay:
Open-world Final Fantasy.
That is the big selling point for this game.
A MASSIVE step up from Final Fantasy XIII’s gameplay, Final Fantasy XV has you roaming around and attacking enemies on the field in real time. The battle system returns to something slightly more conventional by having you cast spells and use items. It seems like this is what Square really intended to do after Final Fantasy XII. Looking back, Final Fantasy XIII feels like some prototype before Final Fantasy XII, so it really becomes apparent that Final Fantasy XIII’s gameplay comes off as a huge mistake.
This game’s major’s strength comes from the player engaging with a massive world. You camp. You take on hunts. You take on a bajillion sidequests. You run across the world. You drive across the world. You can ride a chocobo across the world.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
However, the dip in the gameplay comes from how easily accessible these sidequests are. The map tells you exactly where you go 24/7. I started to have an existential crisis around my 50th sidequest in a row. Why am I doing this? What’s the point? I go here to kill a thing, or go there to help someone by giving a potion or taking a picture. You start to realize that a good bulk of sidequests are either hunting daemons or fetching an item. You start to deconstruct the meaning of playing a video game as you think to yourself, “Why do I play video games?” while also thinking “But wait, one more and then I swear I’m done.”.
Tumblr media
I get it, not everyone has the time nowadays to figure out a huge game like this. I get it, video games are now marketed to everyone for ease. At the same time, I personally love a good challenge. I mean, I’m the guy who has Dark Souls as one of his favorite video games of all time, so my opinion on the matter might definitely be skewered compared to most. I generally want to feel like I actually figured something out by myself rather than following a tracker on the screen and walking from task to task and then saying, “Okay done. Next.”.
Too much of that and playing a video game starts to feel like a 9 to 5 job to me. This game is great to play during quarantine, but at one point I saw playing this game as feeling like an actual job. Wake up, eat breakfast, time to hunt some daemons.
This is the growing conflict some people have with story-driven games versus open-world games. I see the argument focused too much on words like “linear”, but in reality we should be talking about “automation”. If a video game is too automated, then did you really play a video game? Or did you watch a movie that allows you to control the camera angle? At first, the idea of driving around an open-world Final Fantasy game sounds amazing. Isn’t that what fans always dreamed of? In reality, you don’t really drive around at your leisure. Even when you have the car set to “manual”, you can’t speed up, drive off-road, or pull off a sick drift like in The Fast and the Furious. Your car still automatically stays on the road wherever you’re going. It’s not so much “manual” as it is “I can control where and when to stop and which road to take”. Riding chocobos at your leisure is much more fun, but becomes increasingly impractical as you can just fast-travel to necessary locations in your car.
The sights and sounds of the fictional world of Eos are enough to gloss over these shortcomings though. It IS still fun to roam around and fight monsters and save the day. My bottom line is, “You don’t think about just how mindless the tasks are unless you keep playing for many days straight.”. And I poured hours into this game day after day because of the 2020 pandemic quarantine.
Graphics:
Obviously the best thus far. However, in-game facial expressions on the NPCs are still quite stilted and awkward. This game made me realize that we’ve yet to jump a hurdle when it comes to in-game graphics. The game is so polished but there are still limitations when it comes to giving the characters natural movements, both in body and lips. So an NPC could be shouting “WOW THAT’S AMAZING!” but have a straight face jumping up and down, despite the fact that the character model is the most realistic we’ve created so far in a video game. I was looking back at in-game cutscenes of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, and found it ironic that they can portray body movements so much better, but that’s the trade-off. Less graphics power to portray realistic bodies, but the graphics power can then be allocated to focus on natural movements. Nowadays, all the graphics power is focused on making things look good, but that hardly leaves room for making things move naturally.
Tumblr media
Story:
After the overly-complicated plotline of Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XV feels like a breath of fresh air. On the surface, it’s a straightforward tale of a boy seeking to become a king after his father is brutally murdered by enemy forces. The bromance between the young king and his bodyguards is endearing. Each character feels distinct and genuinely makes you laugh. The setup sounds like prime real estate for an emotionally charged storyline.
Unfortunately, it falls apart somewhere around the last quarter. What should have been a strong and straightforward story turned into a rushed, hasty mess by the final act.
The story started SO strong, they practically had it in the bag, but then it became apparent that many important elements were glossed over - especially when it came to the main villain. I realized that some things required me to read between the lines, or even were only explained in character dossiers in the archive section of the menu. Supposedly, the movie Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV explains more, but do you really expect me to have to watch a separate movie to understand the actual game? The final quarter of the story feels like someone was trying to finish NaNoWriMo, realized they were running out of time, and quickly jumped from scene to scene to reach that 50k word goal. The ten-year time-skip is a joke. The final chapter is sorely disappointing.
The ending was appropriate though, and even beautiful. However, the overall story didn’t have the necessary emotional weight to really make me feel anything. I thought to myself, “I feel like I should be tearing up but instead I feel nothing.”. Even Final Fantasy XII, which lacked a romance, had me swelling up at the end. Final Fantasy XV didn’t make me swell up until literally the last few seconds of the post-credits scene.
People complained about the advertising (Coleman, Cup Noodles) but that didn’t bother me.
What does bother me is the lack of variety in the main cast, and in numerous ways. There were so many interesting side characters that didn’t receive much screen time, or use at all in the story. The strong focus on only the four male leads made it a sausagefest. I was craving more out of Aranea Highwind and Iris Amicitia. They are important but don’t get any screen time at all in the final chapter, nor do we ever hear from them ever again after the time-skip. Aranea Highwind was such a cool character, but once again ends up being wasted potential.
Tumblr media
The main cast lacked distinctive styles. When I first saw the main cast, I had a hard time telling them apart. They looked like a k-pop band. Compare the main cast of Final Fantasy XV to literally any other Final Fantasy main cast and you can immediately spot the difference.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The four main leads do have distinct personalities, and I quite loved hearing their comments and banter. It felt realistic, but at times it became ridiculous. I rolled my eyes when Prompto would say things like, “Hashtag sorry not sorry.” That was a bit too on the nose, and came off as Square trying to pander to the current generation.
But what really rubbed me the wrong way is the incredible lack of non-white characters in the entire game. Lestallum feels so wrong to me as a Hispanic. Lestallum is supposed to be modeled after Havana, Cuba.
Tumblr media
Its music, its buildings, its activities. It has a tropical climate, and yet every single denizen is pale white. Every. Single. One. I am not exaggerating. It feels so absolutely wrong walking around that city and not seeing anyone with the slightest shade of brown. This isn’t some uncalled-for SJW rant, it’s a simple fact. Tropical climates breed tanner skins. My brain naturally did a double-take when seeing the all-white population, saying, “Hmmm, something’s wrong here.”. For God’s sake, Final Fantasy XII, made over a decade earlier, did a better job at displaying the various nuances in skin tones, and that was on the PlayStation 2! Final Fantasy X, even older, seemed to properly portray tropical beach populations, inspired by the Philippines, with the character Wakka.
I noticed that they really took the time to incorporate elements from virtually every single Final Fantasy game. Aside from the crystals, the modern settings, and other obvious elements, four male leads are reminiscent of Final Fantasy III, the sinister chancellor hearkens back to Kefka from Final Fantasy VI, the enemy Yojimbo resembles Final Fantasy X’s version of Yojimbo, a certain boss battle reminded me of Cid Raines from Final Fantasy XIII.
Also, there’s Dino. Quite possibly the most annoying Final Fantasy NPC ever.
Tumblr media
The overly obnoxious Italian stereotype made me want to punch his face, and also took me out of the experience of the fictional world. Every time you spoke with him he's all like "HEY HOW YOU DOIN WELCOME TO OLIVE GARDEN YOU TALKIN TO ME BADA BING BADA BOOM SPICY PIECE OF MEATBALL CAPISCE? AMIRITE??"
Square seemed to treat this game as a milestone in the series, alluding to everything the series ever did. It’s a shame that the story itself wasn’t quite up to snuff to be held in such regard.
Music:
The game’s major lyrical song is copyrighted, which is a first for a Final Fantasy game. It makes sense why they chose the song “Stand by Me”, both in literal and figurative terms of the story.
The score to this game is quite fantastic. The series has its first female composer, Yoko Shimomura. I have absolutely no complaints about the music. Nobuo Uematsu didn’t even pop into my head during the entire game. It’s the first time since Uematsu’s departure that I felt immersed in the score. The motifs are distinct and strong. The battle music is vibrant and an orchestral orgasm to listen to.
Notable Theme:
“Somnus”
youtube
The main theme of the game. It plays right away in the main menu. I love how it is incorporated into the rest of the score, and my brain kept wanting to hear it to its completion.
Direct Sequel?
Nope. However, there is downloadable content that fills in the gap of events within the game. Supposedly, Final Fantasy XV is loosely connected to Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Type-O, all sharing common themes and possibly set in the same universe. You can also watch the prequel movie, Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV.
Did it Live up to the Hype?
Eh.
Yes, and no.
It was cool to play around, but the rest is a flaccid attempt at being a notable entry in the series “for fans and first-timers”, as the words proudly display every time you load the game. It’s not the worst in the series, but certainly not the best. It’s somewhere in the mid-to-low tier.

I’ve been noticing less and less feminist critique of subconscious biases and conditioning going around ever since TERFs (as in actual terfs, not these libfem and conservative cosplayers all over twitter now) started taking over the narrative and honestly I feel like there’s something to be said there. Now everyone’s afraid of talking about those things because they’re worried of sounding terfy or because they don’t want to attract a crowd who will use their words to fucking harass trans people or some shit. And then that just makes terfism even more attractive because people will be noticing all these societal pressures and not see anyone talk about them but the terfs. No fucking shit people end up being drawn to that movement when it’s the only one addressing certain problems they face, like the pressure of young girls to look grown or sexualization of young-looking features on women. Those used to be common subjects in “sjw” spaces but when was the last time you saw them brought up? People looking to address those problems will put up with a lot of shit from the only group that they see actually talking about them. It’s a vicious cycle and we need to interrupt it.

So, to elaborate on the Love Bombing; my ex best friend who I talked about in the previous posts, when she lied to my face when I didn’t offend anyone. Saying THREE TIMES, twice in her discord that everyone could see and the third in private messaged me; is the girl I’m gonna talk about Love Bombing and why my mental health on people not messaging me back has gone down the shitter.
Before I say this, it’s not just me she did this too, she did this with EVERYONE! Even the people she worked with as content creators. Now I know she has bad mental health too, not gonna go into detail about it too much. Trying to be vague about it as much as I can; her family caused her mental health and I know she has some deep deep deep Trauma Bonding Issues with her family, especially her dad.
So, let’s get into the Love Bombing of my ex best friend.
She would leave discord servers to, take a break from her mental health and take a break in general. I don’t mind that. She did this so often that no one really questioned her. Then when she came back, it was all filled with love, sending people gifts and so on. It was pretty intense and I couldn’t cope with it, it was TOO much love that it was overbearing. Sometimes I had to take a step back because I couldn’t handle the intense compliments, the showering of gifts and her explosiveness of love. It’s not just “oh you look pretty” it was “omg youre so pretty! I wish I was pretty as you. Omg youre so good with makeup, youre so gorgeous, you’re so kind” and on and on and on. Like I said, it was intense.
However, the minute she kinda just left and ignored me for months, I would feel guilty that I wasn’t a good friend and I needed to be more kind. Then she came back telling me “youre such a wonderful person. I love you so much! You’re like a sister I never had. Not like my family who did…” and basically Trauma Dumping me with her problems. It’s like she didn’t understand boundaries and she didn’t know when is the good time, not to talk about certain shit she was dealing with. Like she had NO self aware of what she was doing. I get it she had a bad life, but please, don’t do this. It’s uncomfortable when people do this.
She would even leave the content community gamers (I can’t say their brand, I know they get paid on YouTube) and just leave and saying “I’m gonna miss you guys. You guys are the best. I love you all so much, you’re my family” and just really uncomfortable over loving when she left.
[Side note and side rant/vent; she could leave servers and no one bats an eyelid. THE MINUTE I LEFT? Oh no, I’m bad. Fuck off. Especially when my bf couldn’t handle the drama in her server with her friends, he left on his own accord. Oh no! He’s also the bad guy because he left. Fuck off. The more she caused drama and her friends (aka followers) tried and I mean fucking tried to get me to snap, the more I wanted nothing to do with it. I walked away and I know they hate that. Oh well, not my fucking problem. Again, fuck off with that bull shit. Me and my bf got fed up and left their bs. But noooooo we are the bad guys for leaving the fucking server. She can fuck right off with that bull shit.]
Again, when she came back it to the content creators, she was just filled with love. Looking back, it was toxic. I don’t have to prove my love to you, when you left. Fuck off. I will love anyone unconditionally, but the minute you Love Bomb me, I’m leaving. I’m done.
She would think if I didn’t give her the attention, she needed, I’m the bad friend. Fuck off. When I didn’t see her post, when I didn’t see the thing she tagged me in straight away; I’m the bad friend. Fuck off. When I didn’t see her message straight away and I didn’t respond straight away; I’m the bad friend. Fuck off.
Like I said, she had no personal boundaries and no self awareness on what she’s actually doing.
Omg everything has to be SJW (social justice warriors) bs but only pick and choose who’s the more popular opinion. Fuck off. Like with Johnny Depp, oh she didn’t like how he ‘retaliated’ back to Amber so Johnny is the bad guy and women are ‘never’ abusive. Fuck off. How when the tea channels all agree with something, you have to agree with them. Fuck off. When ‘I’ should agree that ALL Republicans are the bad guys and everyone should be put in a box. Again, fuck off. Not everyone is the same, everyone is different. Omg if I had a different opinion of hers she would get ‘triggered’. She and her ‘friends’ can suck my cunt. Ugh…. I hate those types of people. So immature.
How about this, instead of calling yourself a SJW, just be a decent human fucking being. It’s not e=mc2 for fucks sake. God, the SJWs need a participation trophy to fight for basic human rights… ugh. I hate people.
She and along with her friends would complicate sentences to make themselves feel and look smart. I just see a dumb ass tbh. Here’s the thing, even my bf said this “any idiot can make anything complicated. A genius can make something complicated into something simple”. I agree, they would try to use the (as I call it) “the gaslight dumb logic” to make them feel smart, but the minute you question on what they are saying and trying to understand on what they are actually saying ; they have a 5 year old tantrum. Really pathetic tbh. That’s toxic btw. You are not smart, nor you are clever to do that bull shit. It’s pathetic.
I still got the messages she sent to me when she deleted her old discord account because again, she caused drama… I wonder fucking why 🙄
I’m honestly glad she’s out of my life. Now I can focus on not being such a cry baby bitch when someone doesn’t reply straight away. I know she caused that, it brought me back when I was living with my family. My mental health got that bad at one point.
Don’t get me wrong, I used to love bomb people when I was teen, but I’ve learned from that. I haven’t done that since I was in my teens. I’ve grown up, matured since then. People who love bomb are so fucking immature adult babies. I’m done with people like that.
If want me to go into detail and explain what Love Bombing is in psychologically terms and put it into basics so you can understand; I’m happy to do that.
EDIT: This girl is in her mid 30s or late 30s but she’s acting like a teen. When I found out she was (I think, don’t quote me on this) 36? I was shocked. She acted like she was in her 20s or younger. Don’t get me wrong, even me at 29 I have my immature moments and I act like a kid sometimes, but this was different. It’s like she didn’t know how to act certain times and I have plenty of friends who are a lot older than me and we all act immature sometimes. I just can’t put my finger on it, it’s like she didn’t want to be an adult, or like she didn’t want people to know she’s older than she is.
Yeahh we can all act immature and have a stupid humour like laughing at farts or making silly faces, singing with our brushes or get drunk and act like we can do anything (as long you’re not doing anything illegal). Nothing wrong in that, me and friends still do that. Or even playing games and we piss each other off so we kill each other. Again, nothing wrong in that.
I can’t explain it, it’s hard to explain on the way she acts. Like she when she didn’t get her own way, she attacked my bf because she couldn’t get to me because I blocked her. When she couldn’t get my bf because he blocked her, so she attacked my friends. This screams immaturity and only teens and children do this when they can’t get their own way. It’s pretty pathetic tbh. I don’t know, it’s hard to explain.
EDIT: I can do another post on Trauma Dumping in psychological terms and put it simple so you guys can understand. I can do that, been thinking of doing that for some time.

the director of charlies angel who claimed that men cant handle female leads is an idiot who will try to claim that his shitty movie failed not because it was bad but because it was female led
very very few are complaining about WonderWoman, Alien, or the old Terminator Sarah, breaking the nonsense he was   espousing. People are excited to see Black Widow despite superhero burnout, grown men can cry watching Madoka Magic, cheer on Mikasa and begging to see her prevail through the battles. Woke writer’s don’t understand individuality, and neither do money grabbers understand character or meaningful plot, and their characters come across like cliche jokes
captain marvelwas a badly written  she was a mary sue  whose flaws werent treated as flaws who never had to go through any struggle physical or mental ( contrast that to thor ( in thor 3 even after he got a power up he couldnt stop hel with his own power he had to use his head and start ragnarok or in first thor he faced consequences for his actions) or tony stark in his movies where he struggled with his flaws and endured )
( I find the people who go why are you complaining about captain marvel when a guy who had struggled and won through the grit of his teeth isnt complained about ( die hard)
------
“very very few are complaining about WonderWoman”
Well, as of now, they aren’t. At least not in large volumes. The DC movies were basically flop after flop so expectations were low for Wondy with little time for any kind of Meninist movement. It proved everybody wrong on every front.
“Alien, or the old Terminator Sarah”
They’ve had more than enough time to become part of pop culture as classic movies today in retrospect before the advent of any kind of social media period. Both Ripley and Sarah Conner start less so as the main characters front and center but become this in subsequent films as the action survivors.
“People are excited to see Black Widow”
After she had established herself as part of of the Avengers assemble outside of her own movie. I feel like things wouldn’t be the same had Black Widow been released well before that. WAY different.
“grown men can cry watching Madoka Magic”
After the bait and switch of it being a typical Magical Girl series, bringing in darker elements that shocked all audience members. It’s this hook that helped bring in more than just Moe baited geeks.
“cheer on Mikasa and begging to see her prevail through the battles.”
I’m sure it helps that she’s secondary with the likes of Eren firmly as the face of Attack of Titan. I know this is getting old so I’ll spell it out. A lot of these strong female characters aren’t exactly leads or, at the very least, don’t start out as leads.
We see them transition from the usual role of token women character in a thriller before they assume the mantle of defacto main hero. It’s a Trojan’s horse of sorts. In the case of Mikasa, she’s strong but often at Eren’s defense. Granted, recent storylines have played into that flaw of her’s but...
“she was a mary sue”
Trope Talk gotcha covered: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2-GIY9RTqU
“who never had to go through any struggle physical or mental”
Aside from being gaslit by her people to repress her emotions? Gee, I wonder if that’s why Brie Larson came off as stiff in the role. Almost like she was playing a character who wasn’t very emotive.
Even then... did she have to? I’d be content with a simple story of a super heroine kicking ass. Nothing too deep or philosophical, just a bit of a popcorn flick before Endgame.
“Woke writer’s don’t understand individuality, and neither do money grabbers understand character or meaningful plot, and their characters come across like cliche jokes”
What’s sad about this is how a lot of purported “SJWs” often complain about this when discussing representation. About the Black Best Friend, about the Token Gay Guy or the like. It’s largely about how they’re props for a white straight protagonist’s story and few ever just take it like a dog.
At the end of the day, we’re on the same side.

This started out as a whole thing about Brie Larson. She’s started a YouTube channel and i figured I'd follow it just for kicks. I’m not a huge fan of massive Hollywood stars invading more accessible spaces but, technically, they’re the “You” in YouTube, too. I can’t be too mad at that. Of course Google is going to cater more to their brand, mostly because they bring in the duckets and understand PR so they know ho not to cause an ADpocolypse, but it’s still mad sh*tty. Larson’s first post was just her being goofy, trying to figure out how to even be a YouTuber. You kind of see a side of her that i figured was there, but never really was able to confirm. Brie Larson is the poster child for Millennial geekdom and i find that adorable as f*ck. Which is why i don’t understand the MASSIVE waves of hate she’s getting from the community. Cats are reveling in her perceived failure, it’s actually insane.
Now, before we go any further, i just want to be clear; I am a fan of Brie Larson. I think she is excellent at her craft. Ma is from my hometown and it’s always great to see someone make it out of this cowtown. I believe she has every right to her opinions and the fact that she voices them from such a visible platform, makes her one of the most endearing and real celebrities in an industry maligned by the phony. Brie ain’t quite Russell Brand but she is very vocal about the unjust sh*t she sees and will totally let you know it. That, i think, is why she garners such vitriol. Look, I'm a black dude living in the US. If she gets on TV and says f*ck white dudes, I'm inclined to agree. But she didn’t say that. What she said was there needs to be more voices making film, different perspectives in the arts. White dudes dominate the industry and she’s tired of seeing that movie. I don’t understand how that’s a controversial statement. It’s true. We need more dynamic, more diverse, storytellers making films out in the wild. The thing is, that one statement earned her the ire of every entitled white boy with time and and the internet. These motherf*cker decided to take that personally and we were off to the races.
When Brie Larson was announced as Captain Marvel, i was okay with it. I thought Charlize Theron or Katee Sackhoff would have been a better look but i get it. Larson is young and can portray the character for years to come. Kind of how Florence Pugh is going to take over Black Widow duties from Scarlett Johansson. Pugh can be that character for close to a decade, as can Larson. Once again, however, the interwebs were set asunder with rage and malcontent over the Cap Marvel announcement. It was f*cking ridiculous to me. Sure, she didn’t look the part going into this but neither did Gal Gadot, the latter turned out to be the best thing going in that trainwreck DCEU. Larson grew into the part, put in the work to look the part, and is committed to the role. She did her research, consuming massive amounts of the comics, trying to find Carol’s head space, which was a goddamn feat. Captain Marvel is as controversial as Brie Larson, herself. And it’s just as stupid.
Look, i adore Captain Marvel. She’s my fifth favorite Marvel character after Spider-Man, Doctor Doom, Laura Kinney, and Illyana Rasputin. In that order. Captain Marvel grew on me during the whole Mighty Avengers and Disassembled story lines from years ago. I have no love-loss for Bendis but that cat did wonders for building up more obscure characters, Carol being one of them. I also like what he did for Luke Cage, too, but that’s not what this essay is about. I’ve been a fan of this character since the early 00s and have rode this Carol train for years. I jumped on bored when she was rocking her leotard, which i miss terribly, took my time to dig up the back issues where she was in the original red and blue digs and moonlighted as Warbird for a bit. Then, Marvel Now happened and f*cked it all up. Carol went from this attractive, uber-powered, mess of a woman to a cold, manly, aggressively stupid caricature of herself. The Carol Danvers i had grown to love, with all of her faults and trauma, became some sort of butch nightmare and the poster child for why Woke Marvel was failing. I don’t think that’s fair.
Comic Carol was on her way to becoming a real force in the Marvel universe. She had learned there was worth in her strength, one she had to drag out through deep introspection and an understanding of who she really is. No longer was she just a gender-swapped, copyright placeholder that no one knew what to do with. Now she had agency. Now she was a force. Now she was relevant. Now tore all of that away. After Marvel Now, all of that growth and nuance was thrown out of the window. She became the idealized version of what the SJWs thought a “Strong Woman” should be. Marvel gave her a massive push in an effort to  cater to this burgeoning Tumblr dynamic and it failed miserably. Marvel wanted that Steven Universe crowd and they tried real hard to get it but that sh*t did not work. The changes to the universe weren’t extreme or feminist or PC enough. Courting a fanbase that had no longevity, Carol was sabotaged and thrown to the wolves. That’s the environment we were saturated in when Disney announced Larson as Carol for the MCU. It was a perfect storm of Nerdrage, one that has not died down in any capacity all these years later for either Brie or Carol.
I don’t think the feminist slant given to the Captain Marvel movie was actually such a big deal. I think the vitriol that flick faces stems from the combined maliciousness both the new version of Carol in the comics and Brie Larson, herself, garnered. It’s kind of crazy the massive tantrum everyone decided to throw over this movie. Cats were looking for this thing to fail as some sort of petulant schadenfreude ignoring the fact that this movie wasn’t made for them. As frustrated as i was with the ludicrous discourse, i knew this movie wasn't for me. his wasn’t my Carol and i was good with that. Unlike Marvel who pandered to the trend of PC nonsense, the MCU had a clear vision in mind for the audience they wanted; Young girls. They wanted a character who was strong enough to hang with Thor, stand equally with Iron Man, and have the respect of Captain America. Captain Marvel was the best option. She would be the tentpole hero of the MCU going forward and i accepted that. I went into the film with that understanding and, on my way out, i saw, firsthand, what this movie meant to the target audience. There was a little girl, about nine or so, gushing abut how cool Captain Marvel was. She as ecstatic to see a girl like her, kicking so much butt. In the face of that, every entitled argument you have against the character falls apart in my eyes. Captain Marvel is to young girls and woman, as Black Panther was to us black folk. It’s the same energy.
Do i think the film could have been better? F*ck yea, i do. I think the script should have had one more revision and the directors definitely felt out of place. They’re good at their jobs, they mostly make A24-esque fare, but a massive, multi-million dollar, space epic connected to the most popular film franchise in history? Nah, these cats were way out of their depth. I think Feige dropped the ball on this one, a rare miss. I think Kathryn Bigelow, Patty Jenkins, Lynne Ramsay, Claire Dennis, or  Lorene Scafaria would have constructed a much better film, both visually and narrative wise. I think if the movie was better as a whole, a lot of the controversy and vitriol would have been neutered. Carol is written quite wooden and a little pretentious. The interactions between the supporting cast feels forced. The overall narrative is fine but definitely could have been embellished at parts. Captain Marvel is boring and i don’t know how that happened. You have one of the strongest characters in comics, with a distinct, visually appealing powerset, and you make her movie boring? Really? More than anything, though, is the absolute mistreatment of Sam Jackson and Nick Fury.
The writing reduces Nick Fury, the mind behind the entirety of the Avengers Initiative, to lap boy sidekick in an effort to up Carol’s own stature. That sh*t is poor writing and it’s mad frustrating to see. I hate narratives that have to job established characters, in an effort to push new additions. I just wrote a whole goddamn thing about that with Punchline, Joker’s new “partner”. It’s bogus, cheapening the character and opens up an avenue for bad-faith complaints. Rey Palpatine is another great example. Her entire character is built on the slow, methodical, violent, destruction of the Skywalker legacy. Interestingly enough, that character was launched in the same environment as New Carol so i understand why the movie is the way that it is. I don’t agree with it, but i know why. It was an incredibly poor choice to introduce Captain Marvel in this way, however, and she’s never recovered. Brie has never recovered. You want a 90s buddy-cop space opera? Lethal Weapon with Skrulls and starships? You need your Murtaugh and Riggs to stand on equal footing. That was not the case with this flick. Having Nick Fury job to Carol Danvers for two hours was the wrong way to go about all of this and i think a different creative team could have made something truly excellent.
It’s nuts to me that this is even a thing though. Brie’s personal controversy is so f*cking stupid, i choke every time i think about it. How are you mad she stand up for herself, her gender, and everyone else in a position of persecution? Don’t you want though with a platform speaking up about the inequities of our country? I feel like the same people who hate Brie for her vocal advocacy, are the same people who stan “All Lives Matter” when ever someone says Black Lives Matter. That sh*t feels like the same energy to me. I feel like the criticisms launched at comic Carol have real validity, even if most of them are just whiny man-children who miss the leotard. I miss the leotard, too, but come on? We’re passed that now. I do think, when written well, Carol can be a force in the books. Her run as part of the new Ultimates was pretty chill I think she needs that in order to be her true self, until we establish a true self for the character. It’s weird to say but Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel previously, has been around for fifty years, and no one has any idea who she is as a character. I think Captain Marvel in the MCU, both the character and film, are hated for the wrong reasons. The fact that no one has any idea who this character is, makes for a lousy cinematic experience. The team put together in an effort to flesh this character out, didn’t have the creative capacity to do so and we were left with little more than PC tropes and Feminist agenda. The MCU let both Brie and Carol down in that regard.
Brie Larson isn’t a terrible person and she deserves more respect put on her name. She an accomplished actress with a bevy of awards and accolades to her name. She’s been in great films like Room and Scott Pilgrim, never once garnering a controversy. The fact that she speaks her truth, a truth the establishment doesn’t want to hear, should not disqualify her talent or the fact that she seems like a really chill person. Carol Danvers is a dope ass character with an amazing amount of potential. When she’s written well and not traded upon for trends, she can have real staying power. Her abilities open up a plethora of interesting, creatively fertile narratives yet to be written. Disregarding her just because Marvel decided to gamble on the pretentious third-wave feminism wave is shortsighted and makes you look like a childish brat. You’re entitled to feel however you want but let’s be clear; Brie Larson and Carol Danvers deserve so much better.

I found your blog while browsing Tumblr and I feel so relieved.  I have not had a Tumblr in a while, but I check in now and then.  I want to tell you the story of what Devo, Satsekhem, and their “friends” did to me.
I remember when Devo first came into the Kemetic community.  She said she knew nothing of Kemeticism, but wanted to learn.  Less than a month later, she proclaimed that Set had chosen her to be the leader of all the Kemetics and it was her job to gather them up under her.  She went around to various social media spaces and pagan forums to recruit members for her group.
I ignored her.  I had grown up in the Fundamentalist Baptist church where I saw a lot of people make the “I’m the chosen one and you must follow me” claim.  I knew these kind of people were full of shit, lying to get attention and stroke their own egos.
A lot of people ate this shit up.  Others rebuffed her approaches and she called them “mean.“  She said she “building community” and “boat paddling,” but she was demonizing people who didn’t join her group, calling them stupid and disgusting and lots of other things.
Then she noticed me and she began this…creepy obsession with me.  It was weird.  She expressed hatred for me, but at the same time, she wanted me to join her group and fawn over her.  I would not respond to her messages or reblogs.  She saw this as mean, abusive behavior on my part.
Her behavior escalated from snooty comments to online stalking.  She even harassed one of my online friends, who was not even Kemetic and had nothing to do with her.  I moved my blog and she followed,  claiming that I destroying the community she had so carefully crafted, basically by posting opinions that are different from hers.
The harassment escalated.  She put me on some sort of blacklist and no one was allowed to talk to me or mention my name.  I was shocked that everyone fell into line and no one questioned this blacklist or any of her claims such as being elected the queen of all the Kemetics by Set.  Everything seemed so bizarre and unreal, as if I had stepped into an alternate universe.
I want to say that at this point, I had not said anything to her or the other Kemetic Fandom ringleaders.  Then they said nasty things to me, like that they made a request to the gods to ruin my life, and they felt sorry that the gods had a devotee like me.  I snapped, posting a string of curse words aimed at Devo and telling her to get the fuck off my blog.
I shouldn’t have done it because I gave them exactly what they wanted.  They were intentionally goading me into snapping so they could “prove” that I was an evil, community- destroying bitch.  Devo whipped up her followers into dogpiling me on her behalf.  I got dox threats, death threats, and creepy messages like “you should be glad that we don’t give you what really deserve.“  Fearing for my physical safety, I deleted my blog and they had a giant circle jerk, congratulating themselves on “taking the trash out.”
Later Devo and Satsekhem edited their post and reblogs of my posts to make me look nasty and themselves heroes who were just trying to be my friend.  Devo claimed that if I ever apologized to her, she would let me back in the community…a community I had never been a part of.
I have never blogged publicly since because I genuinely fear they might find me and carry out one of their threats hurt me.
In the end, I was baffled as to why this could go on without anyone saying something.  Why were they cheering the bullies on, and a why a big chunk of the online community would buy into Devo’s bizarre claims and not notice her blatant hypocrisy.
Anon, this mod wishes to express their sincerest sorrow.  We would like to say your story (with the exception of some of the hunting down in real life stuff) is legion in this community, all those who express differing opinions that do not agree of these peoples venomous ideological rhetorics, received the same treatments.  We are deeply saddened and horrified by the sheer cruelty they express as they lash out demanding subservience and being surprised when it is not given.  You are welcomed on our blog Anon and here, you are safe.  This mod hopes your story sheds light to all left in the community to see the truth and how vile, sadistic, and vindictive these people are.
–Memphis
I’m so sorry this happened to you, anon. If it’s any consolation, you’re not alone. There are many people who have been bullied by Devo, Satsekhem, and other SJW Kemetics. We here at KCFTP have observed that theirs is a highly toxic community. If you don’t follow their beliefs to the letter, you’re chastised as a bigot of some kind. Even those in their ranks aren’t safe. Don’t give in to them, and don’t give up. People who treat others this way are in all reality insecure, miserable people. Whether or not you choose to blog again, may you live in peace and be well!

have i ever introduced you guys to imgflip?
imgflip is...interesting, to say the least. prior to late 2015-early 2016, it was pretty much my only source of memes.
it was also populated mostly by boomers. this is the stage in the internet to where minion memes were at their peak and most memes had all-caps, impact font instead of lowercase, generic sans-serif font.
i signed up in 2014 at the age of 11. i’d just moved and said goodbye to my entire friend group. this was a time before texting is as widespread as it is now, a time to where the only things you could do in order to contact your friends besides get together with them face-to-face were to either send them a letter (or an email, although i think 7-10 is too young to comprehend how to use your own email account) or call them. wow, i sound boomer. but it’s true. but not completely. skype counts too.
guess i’m a zoomer lmao.
so anyway, i had no friends. i was an introvert, and i made my friends during a period of our lives to where all we had to do to make friendships was to ask somebody if they wanted to be your friend.
during this lonely period of my life in a completely new environment, this website was one of my main forms of social interaction. (if you haven’t noticed, middle school kids are cruel.) me being 11 and my parents being conservative Christians who are wary of social media in general, this was pretty much the most rebellious thing i did. i lied about my age because of them being significantly older than i was (i wasn’t too young to know about pedophilia and all of that), posing that i was around 20-22 years old in order to avoid any sexual attention. luckily, i was intelligent enough to have the vocabulary of a 20-22 year old, and i kept up this lie just fine without anyone noticing.
however, because most of the people on imgflip were boomers (and a significant amount still are), a lot of their memes were on the anti-SJW, more conservative side. and so i became a whole lot more conservative. i became a whole lot more isolated. i became a whole lot more...judgemental.
look. their influence hasn’t been lost on me, even with me being almost a legal adult now. even now, they introduced me to conservative ideas that even now are a good idea to me. however, some of their memes can really be cruel. and ignorant. here’s a sample as to what i was exposed to.
note that these are GROWN ADULTS making these memes. i was still a CHILD.
Tumblr media
(this is supposed to depict a feminist)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
note that i’m not going to slam on them for “corrupting my mind” or anything like that. and neither will i name names. they had no idea how young i was at the time, and to be honest, it’s better that way.
but again, i was a CHILD that they were showing this information to and that i was agreeing with. to me, none of this was ignorance. it made SENSE.
but they were fully-grown ADULTS.
from what i gathered from them, here are the main sources of ignorance:
-the culture/those they socialize with. most of the boomers i knew on imgflip lived in the south, especially in more rural areas. i did not know one single person who explicitly stated they were from the north, even to toute something like, “hey, i’m from the north and i’m still conservative! what does that say about liberals?!” or something like that.
-their own parents. a lot of boomers were born in an era to where jim crow was still prevalent and being homosexual meant a life of secrecy, conversion therapy, hormone treatment, bullying, and being ostracized/told they were going to hell even if they’d been physically and verbally beaten into suppressing the urge to act on their tendencies, but still had them. their parents were born around 1910-the late 1930′s, and were absolutely steeped in this culture, growing up with every mental gymnastic move made to justify their beliefs and to pass these gymnastics moves onto their children.
-low education levels. nobody i knew said that they ever had a degree in anything, even if it was just out of a matter of pride or in casual conversation. those who disclosed their education level at all said that they were proud to be involved in a trade/a job that only requires a high school diploma, and the only mention they made of college was the “special snowflake liberal California college students” they so loved making fun of.
-mental anguish. especially by war vets. i met a lot of war vets on here, most of them in relatively recent wars such as vietnam and korea. i connected with these in particular a lot because of my taste in music that they grew up with. and i respected them. but, in a move that may have been one of the first waves of disclosing mental health on the internet, a lot of them confessed to having PTSD. and one of these symptoms of PTSD? paranoia. and their memes SCREAMED this paranoia. everyone who wasn’t them was out to attack them. it was a terrifying life. i’d be terrified if my brain had basically been warped by war into thinking that every minority was out to get me.
therefore, how do we solve ignorance?
-by changing the culture. we’re doing this already. great job! now it’s time to impact the rural areas that we’ve been ignoring for decades.
-by raising your children to not have these ignorant beliefs. tell your children the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. hint: the truth is usually what requires the least amount of mental gymnastics to get to.
-by promoting education. this has actually gotten worse and worse. the ratio of those who are going to college has increased, yes, but the costs of obtaining post-secondary education has increased dramatically. had i grown up in the same period of history as those whom i socialized with on imgflip, i would’ve only had to work a summer job once in order to pay for college. however, there are 2 main ways in order to obtain education without attending formal schooling, and that’s the two factors above: culture and child-rearing.
-raising awareness for mental health, especially with mental illnesses that may lead to paranoia. ptsd and schizophrenia are one of them.
in order to help in the search for better ptsd treatment methods (the one i found was for vets, but i’m aware there’s a lot of civilians suffering from it, including me), donate to military one source at https://www.militaryonesource.mil/.
for schizophrenia, there’s https://sardaa.org/.
and if you want to see the not-so-bizarre imgflip (with lots more young people on it), check it out now.
https://imgflip.com/
i am so weirdly happy to get this off of my chest.
