guilty pleasure (smut)
paring ↬ Eddie Munson x fem!reader
summary ↬ A drunken night leads to a hookup with none other than Eddie Munson. Which wouldn’t be such a problem if you weren’t currently in a relationship with Jason Carver. You tell you self it needs to stop but what happens when start to look forward to your secret meet ups with Munson?
a/n: loosely inspired by your guilty pleasure by henry versus.. anyways hi hope u enjoy I miss eddie
Feedback & Reblogs appreciated! Thank you ♥︎
You’re Jason Carvers girlfriend, cheer captain and undoubtedly one of the most popular girls in this school. Then why are you currently pinned under Eddie Munson?
“Jason’s going to flip his shit.” You say as Eddie pulls away from kissing you, his lips travel down your throat.
“I won’t tell and you won’t either.” He murmurs nibbling farther down your neck.
You go to respond but you’re stopped by the sudden feeling of air on your chest, your nipples harden as he works your shirt off you. The air is out of your lungs when his mouth moves to a breast, his hands busy undoing your pants. He was eager and never wasted time during what little time you had before Jason started to wonder where you wandered off to. You two hadn’t been caught yet and for Eddie, it wasn’t about to happen today. More than happy to be your dirty little secret.
“Your body is dangerous.” He whispers as soon as he’s got you undressed, left in nothing but your underwear.
You always wore your sexiest pair in hopes that he’d show up to the party Jason dragged you to. Your boyfriend no longer had to do much to convince you to tag along. The unknown possibility of Eddie being there was more than enough to get you out the house.
The first time you had told yourself that it was nothing more than a drunken mistake. Jason and you had been fighting all week. Which was unfortunately becoming your new reality, your relationship on a downward spiral for months. He claimed to be at home but you knew better, showing up to the party he swore he wasn’t attending. After a long argument and him saying maybe you two should take a break, you found friends and drank more than you should have.
A drunken angry night lead you straight into Eddie’s arms. The two of you had always been amicable despite Jason’s obvious disdain for Eddie. It started off as an innocent conversation, thinking Jason would see and grow irritated enough to stop you. He didn’t seem to care which only pissed you off more. And then there Eddie was intoxicated and flirty, touching you without any care for your relationship status. When no one was paying you two any attention, you snuck a kiss and then snuck away with Eddie to a bathroom.
Jason and you decided to make things work a few days later, it needed to stop. Technically you were single when you hooked up with Eddie. You convinced yourself that you didn’t do anything wrong. There was no need to tell Jason what happened.
It wasn’t until you found yourself at another party, Jason with his friends paying you no attention. Eddie’s attention was focused solely on you from across the room. One look, a couple steps up stairs and Eddie was following you to an empty bathroom. Making sure to let him know this would never happen again as you undressed him. He agreed, laughing before lifting you onto the counter and taking over.
After that time you were fucked in every way. Jason just wasn’t doing it anymore. Wondering if Jason ever really did it for you. Questioning why you were still with him all these years later. Suddenly all his flaws more prevalent. Pissing you off by merely existing, fighting constantly. Telling yourself that you’d come clean soon. That it wasn’t fair to Eddie or Jason.
Yet here you were months later, completely sober letting Eddie take what he wanted. All while your boyfriend was downstairs with his friends. Giving yourself over to Eddie Munson became your guilty pleasure.
Eddie’s mouth is slowly traveling to its destination. Your eyes closed, too distracted by his mouth to think about how terrible this will inevitably end. The sound of fabric tearing has your eyes opened and on Eddie, watching as he stuffs whatever’s left of your underwear into his pocket. He’s pulling away from the you, only to sink himself between your thighs.
“Your pussy is always so wet and ready..” His voice is low, his mouth inches away from your center.
A few quick kisses are pressed to your inner thigh before his hands travel under you, pulling you closer and meeting his lips with your clit. Your involuntary reaction is to try and close your legs but he already expects it, stopping you from doing so as he dives deeper.
His tongue working on your bud and a single finger slides into you. You let your moans leave your mouth as you grasp the sheets of whoever’s bed you’re in. Without warning he adds another finger, picking up his pace.
“Fuck..” You groan out as you grind your hips into his touch.
He watches you as you react to his actions, his favorite sight. Your eyes are closed as he pushes you closer to your climax. You can’t see it but you can feel the grin on his face, smug about the fact that he’s the one making you cum and not your boyfriend.
He pulls away bringing out a whimper from you at loss of contact, “Does he make you feel this good?”
You look at him, frustrated and not wanting to talk right now. Especially not about Jason.
“Does he even make you cum?” He ask, kissing a sweet kiss to your cunt. No where near your swollen clit but your body shudders in response. You can’t bring yourself to answer.
“Tell me.. who makes you feel this good?” Another kiss, moving closer to where you desperately need him.
“Who makes you cum every time?” Another kiss, almost there but not yet. He’s leaving you a whimpering mess under his touch.
“Who do you think about when your boyfriend fucks you?” This time he doesn’t kiss you, waiting for response.
“You.. Eddie. I think about you.” You finally admit, causing him to get that smug look he wears every time he reminds you of your dishonest actions towards Jason.
“If you were mine I’d never let you out of my sight.. keep you satisfied enough to keep you under me and not someone else.” He says never breaking eye contact as his slips between your folds again. Continuing where he left off and not letting you respond, sending your head flying back.
The only sounds in the room are your moans and the sounds of his tongue and fingers bringing you closer to the edge. Music is muffled from downstairs. He picks up his speed, not missing a beat. Pushing you over the edge, arching your back as you finish on his fingers. He rides you out through your orgasm. As he pulls out he bring his fingers to his lips, cleaning your juices off his fingers.
“So sweet.” He says as he sits up, hovering over you again.
You only pull him closer, kissing him and undressing him. It’s your turn to make him feel good. Your hands pull at his shirt and he takes it off the rest of the way. The brief moment he pulls away, your hands run down his chest and to his pants. You undo the button then the zipper and start to pull them down as much as you can from under him. He shimmies the rest of the way out of his pants, dragging his boxers off with them.
You wrap your fingers around his cock, pumping it slowly eliciting a groan from him. It’s heavy and hard, ready to split you in half.
“My turn to taste you,” you whisper as you move from under him and push him onto his back.
He doesn’t fight this, allowing you to take control. Eyes on you as settle at his side, bending over to take his cock in your mouth. A simple kiss on his tip has him biting his lip in anticipation. His hand finds your ass, squeezing it as you slowly take his length into your mouth. His other hand is on your head, guiding your mouth deeper. Forcing you to take his whole length. Holding himself back from bucking his hips into your mouth.
“F-fuck.. you take my cock so well..” He purrs as he holds you still, your nose pressed into his groin.
After a few moments of you gagging on his cock, he lets go and you pull away. Saliva drips down your chin. Wiping your mouth off and using it to rub his cock, spitting the build up at the back of your throat onto it. Pumping him in a slippery mess, watching him watch you.
“You on top..” He directs and you listen, sitting up and throwing your leg over him.
You press your warm center onto his hardness, letting it slide through your folds. Making the both of you groan at the friction. You lift your self up just enough as aligns his tip to your heat. You lower yourself down, taking him whole. As you begin to roll your hips he grabs you and guides you through the motions, nails digging into your skin.
Probably leaving marks but you don’t care. The tiniest part of you wishing Jason would find evidence of you and Eddie, forcing you to come clean. The more the two of you did this behind Jason’s back, the sloppier you got. The more you would let Eddie do, the more you asked for. Knowing that this couldn’t possibly end well for anyone involved, deciding to enjoy it while you had the chance.
“Such a slut, taking my cock while your boyfriend is downstairs,” Eddie says this as his arms wrap around your waist, pulling you flush to his chest.
His hips jerk into you from under, slamming his cock inside of you at a relentless pace. Your head is burrowed in his neck, your arms trapped in his embrace. He fucks you from under as you moan in his ear, his favorite sound.
Without any warning he slips from under you and has you laid on your stomach. He pulls your ass up, pushing your head down. Eddie takes a moment to appreciate the sight in front of him before smacking your ass. The crown of his cock lingers at your entrance before easing into your warmth. You can’t help the whine that escapes your mouth as his fills you from this angle.
“Such a good little slut for me.. huh?” He asks as he thrusts into you in a languid manner, almost teasing you. He’s waiting for you to answer before he gives you want you want.
“Yes.. Eddie.. for you.” You respond, your voice cracking between thrusts.
“Say it.” He growls pushing your head into the bed, slowly moving his hips.
“I’m a slut.. for you.” You spit out and he rock his hips harder, faster. Fucking you into the bed. Finally giving you what you want.
You grip onto the sheets, pushing against his thrusts. His movements are deep, his pace relentless. Hands squeeze your ass, further guiding his pumping. You are a mess under him, not holding back your noises. Letting Eddie know he’s fucking you right. Just how you like it. Ruining you for any other man, specifically your boyfriend.
Eddie doesn’t slow, keeping the speed consistent. Determined to make you cum one more time before he finishes. His length plunges in and out of you. Skin smacking and moans fill the room.
There’s no way anyone else upstairs can’t hear you. They have to know someone is having sex in here. Almost making it more enjoyable. The fear of getting caught turning you on even more.
The familiar feeling of your skin heating up is felt. Pleasure building in you as Eddie’s fucks you closer to falling apart. Your walls flutter around his cock letting him know that you’re almost there.
“Come for me. Come all over my cock.” Eddie orders.
His demand is all it takes to push you over the edge. You feel your body tighten and then releases the pressure. AA chocked sob comes from you as you finish all over his cock.
Your body goes numb as he pumps a few more times before, quickly pulling out. Taking his throbbing erection into his hand and pumping it with his hand. The other hand grabs you, pulling you to a sitting position in front of Eddie.
“Open up.” He orders and you look up at him, doing as he says.
A few more flicks of his wrist has him hissing as he comes on your face. Aiming for your tongue and making it for the most part. You wait patiently as he jerks himself to completion. He smiles, wiping his cum from where it missed and landed on your cheek. Collecting it placing it in your mouth. Not letting a drop go to waste, watching as you swallow his seed.
“Good girl,” he smiles pulling away.
It’s as if reality comes into play as he steps away, throwing your clothes towards you on the bed. You quickly redress, watching him do the same. The sadness that comes when this moment comes gets stronger every time your time together comes to an end.
Once you’re dress you stand up from where you’re sat on the edge of the bed. It’s as if Eddie notices the change in your mood, without you having to say anything. Moving in closer to you he pulls you closer, kissing you more affectionately than he should be. Clouding your judgement and letting your self fill your mind with delusions.
As he drags himself away from you he says, “Now go make out your boyfriend, let him taste me on your tongue.”
His tone is teasing, causing you to roll your eyes and let out a sigh. His reminder of your failing relationship snaps you from your mind, the feelings he makes you feel. The thoughts he makes you think.
You’re irritated, mostly at yourself for letting it get to this point. He looks at you for a second using his hand to smooth your hair and then wipe away at your smudged eye makeup. Once he thinks you look like you didn’t just cheat on your boyfriend, he grins pulling away. You try not to smile back, moving away from him and leaving the room. Eddie would wait a few minutes, so no one would see the two of you leaving together.
As you walk downstairs to where you left Jason your mind can’t stop thinking about the possible consequences. You could tell Jason right now and what? Run into Eddie’s arms? Not entirely sure if he even wants that. If he wants you as anything more than a secret hookup.
Afraid that if you came clean, the whole entire thing would lose its appeal. Wondering if you enjoy your time with Eddie as much as you do because it’s so wrong. If you were single, would you still find yourself wanting to be around Eddie?
One thing clear, you need to break up with Jason. As soon as possible and just see what happens afterwards. If whatever Eddie and you have is meant to be, it’ll happen. You hear your name as you make it into the back yard where you left Jason. He’s sat right where you left him, trying to call you over.
As you approach him and his friends, he pulls you into his arms. You feel yourself recoiling as a reaction to his touch. You’re in no mood for him right, obviously bothered over something and he doesn’t notice. He never fires. Before you can anything, he kisses you. You can’t help but try to stifle the laugh that wants to come. Thinking about the last thing Eddie said to you.
“What’s so funny?” Jason asks, his arm still wrapped around your waist.
“Nothing… we need to talk..” You respond, removing yourself from his embrace and walking away from his group of friends.

you always found the night to be peaceful, in fact, you were a bit of a night owl. the stars always captured your attention, your comfort was in the night sky, and sometimes, you felt that the sky always felt the same about you. unfortunately, one night, the peace and comfort you once knew diminished as you were able to detect sounds of someone trudging through the mud. once at ease, your body tensed whilst you gripped at your weapon. no one passed by your abode, especially not at night. it was quiet near the bottom of starsnatch cliff. this was your station for the month; fatui were to be placed at different stations throughout teyvat as scaramouche had worked on 'delusions.' you owned multiple, one for each element. the archons were not as graceful as people say they are to be able to grant you a real one. thankfully, scaramouche was able to give you one, then another, then another, soon you owned all the elements. and then some.
your station was pretty open, resembling albedo's campsite in dragonspine.
"who's that?" your voice came out slightly shakier than you had hoped.
a small strained chuckle came from the figure in the darkness, "that's how you respond to enemies? 'who's that?' how intimidating."
you gritted your teeth and relaxed your shoulders. scaramouche. many thoughts ran through your mind, the most prominent one being, why was he here? mondstadt? he was supposed to be in inazuma. you had always tried to be kind to him, but if he was there for some stupid reason, basic manners would be the last thing on your mind.
"what are you doing here?" this time, your voice was stern and his figure became more distinguished as he came into the light. with more details being revealed, it was obvious he had gotten into a brutal fight. "why are you…" your thought trailed off as your feet moved without you, towards him. he had a smirk on his face, but worry also ran through his expression. his eyes fell and he swatted your gracious hand away. instead of responding, he thought an appropriate answer would be to rummage through your station, inferring he was looking for supplies to heal himself. a sigh escaped your lips, you grabbed your weapon and tossed it near him. his body was stiff while he explored your carefully arranged items.
exasperated, you gripped his wrist and turned his body towards yours, "what are you doing here? answer me this time." you repeated the question as his eyes finally met yours. his clothes ripped, his eyes heavy, and he had bruises along his body. although fully clothed, it was easy to tell there were more extensive injuries beyond what the eye could see. not to mention, his face. once clean and clear, now battered with cuts. your stomach flipped at the sight.
"i came to see you and well, there were people here who thought otherwise. i guess i'm popular around teyvat."
three seconds of silence and tension filled the air. your lips curled inward as your tried to stile a laugh. "well.. yeah." a huff of air came from your mouth instead of a laugh, "you're one of teyvat's most wanted fatui. you create delusions and the traveler wants you dead." the want to laugh becomes greater by the second.
"okay. ha. ha. not funny. are you gonna help me or not?"
his wrist slid out of your grip, "why should i?"
scaramouche's fingers gently wrapped around the bottom of his top. tilting his head enough to let his hat drop to a nearby table, his arms weakly lifted the shirt above his head and off of his body. your breath hitched at the sight of his well-toned -- injured abdomen. the bruises appeared black and the deep wounds were now crusted over with dried blood. your palms instinctively ran along his muscles, he didn't wince, but was clearly uncomfortable. you flinched away from him.
"sorry. i was just.. seeing if they hurt."
"of course they hurt."
"sorry."
"just help me. stop apologizing."
you sat him down on the most comfortable stools you were able to find. he lit another lantern due to the darkness of the environment, while he was struggling to light a match, you looked for your 'med kit.' well, it was a box full of bandages and alcohol. you hoped it would be enough. scaramouche's eyes glanced over at you, eyeing the box you held.
"idiot."
you were taken aback, "excuse me?"
"you heard me. what if something happened to you and this is all you had?"
your face felt hot and you were embarrassed, "nothing would have happened to me. i'm careful and i don't pick fights."
his hand found his way on top of yours, he dragged you towards him; his free hand slid underneath your chin, his thumb stroking your jaw. you could feel your face turn hot with each stroke. your face inched towards his, slowly, until he opened his mouth.
"i didn't pick this fight." he let go, dramatically. he turned away from you, letting his jaw face you.
your head fell slightly, hair covering your eyes. "okay, i believe you." he was injured, you had to be nice to him. you fiddled with the bandages in the box for a moment before placing the box on his thighs. "posture straight, please." all that mattered was patching him up.
your hands were covered in alcohol as you soaked cotton pads in the liquid. you gently rubbed the sterilizing product over his wounds. at first, it seemed like extensive injuries littered his body, but it wasn't all that bad. a large cut and a few bruises were near his rib area, scrapes were found all over his legs, but they weren't all that important, and his face -- it was fine. a cut. it'll scar up. he's a skilled fighter, you thought to yourself to calm yourself. you gently pressed your hands on his shoulders to encourage him to lean back. there was one last cut you hoped to clean near his hip bone.
"lean back." you stared at his abdomen area, it looked much better than before.
he laughed, "i'm not even hard yet. plus, is it advised to do such acts while injured?"
your eyes widened, refusing to give him the satisfaction of a reaction, you looked at him with a neutral expression. "i'm cleaning you up."
he rolled his eyes and complied to your demands, rolling his pants down slightly farther. you glared at scaramouche and he shrugged, "i'm giving you a better view."
sighing, you bandaged him up and clapped your hands against each other, removing any dirt. trying to tidy up the place once more, you grabbed excess scraps and tossed them back in the 'med kit' as scaramouche rose from the stool, trying to feel comfortable with the bandages. you finished placing everything back in the correct spot and bent over to place the 'med kit' back in a drawer. although he was messing around with his bandages, he managed to steal a few glances at you. once you stood up and felt more relaxed, you realized how tall scaramouche was. and how pretty he was. you couldn't leave him alone, especially not injured. you grabbed onto his hand and led him closer to you.
you tilted your head up to look into his eyes, "do you want to rest here?"
"what are you insinuating?"
"rest. sleep."
"where will you sleep?" he bent over your shoulder to glance at your bed. he craned his neck so his lips pressed against your ear, "unless you want to sleep with me."
continuing with the stone cold expression, you let out a dry laugh. "i'll sleep outside. i'm not even tired. by the time you wake up, you can leave and i'll be able to sleep."
the stars continued to twinkle. your eyes darted to the sky outside. the night sky, beautiful. scaramouche brought his attention to the same sky and shook his head. he grabbed his disheveled clothes and hat, attempting to put them on. confused, you stopped him from trying to leave, especially now. the quiet of night, but the loud of ones in it. you knocked his hat out of his hand and pushed him to the bed, encouraging him to get in. the sheets were warm, the bed was soft, you were so confused on why he couldn't just stay. fatui had slept together many times, one keeping watch, one sleeping. moments of wrestling, you managed to pin him to the bed. your face was red and sweat beaded on his face, heavy breathing filled the silence.
"stay. please." your voice cracked once more.
"i can fend for myself. you're not fooling me with your act. trying to be all nice, getting delusions from me."
you caught your breath as you tilted your head, such as a confused dog, "i am nice to you! genuinely! do you think i use you for delusions?"
"why else would you be nice to me? i have power, delusions, and money."
"so do i."
your brows furrowed, "fuck you, leave."
you sat on scaramouche's lap, pointing at the large gap being the exit. "leave."
he sat up, propping himself up on one elbow, sighing. "i'm sorry. i can't really fathom why you tolerate me"
"i don't."
he laughed at the snarky remark, his hands snaked around your waist.
"fiesty."
his face came closer to yours, his hands sliding to your lower back. your breath grew heavier, he smiled at the response, "how about you tolerate me for one night?"
soon, your lips were centimeters apart, "i'll allow it."
with those words, his lips crashed onto yours, the warmth of his breath filled your mouth. as his tongue explored your mouth, he fiddled with the buttons on his pants. as the buttons finally came undone, he used one hand to lift you above his thighs, just enough to slide off his bottoms. he pulled away and brought his mouth to your neck, "clothes off." your body moved on its own, without any debate, your hands began to strip yourself. his fingers slid along your waist, his right hand made his way up to your chest, the left aiding you in taking off your bottoms. he gripped onto your chest, cursing pleasures against your neck. the warm, sloppy feeling of his lips made you unknowingly grind against his thigh. you felt yourself growing hot against his skin, you yearned for contact, "please. take it off."
"of course, dear."
he removed your underwear, leaving you feeling too warm. he kept himself sitting up as you were able to rock your hips against his thigh, moaning each time you rubbed against his knee. your back arched, you felt yourself getting closer to climax, scaramouche supported you, his arm wrapped around your upper back.
"almost.. please."
scaramouche's nails dug into your thighs, making you halt quickly. he grabbed onto your hips, applying an immense amount of pressure on them. "you were going to finish.. without me?" you blushed in embarrassment, he lifted you off of his lap and laid you on your back gently. "i'll admit, you looked. amazing, but what type of person would you be if you left me hanging? don't i get to make you feel good too?"
the last sentence struck you, he wasn't upset that he wasn't getting anything for himself, he was upset he let you do all the work.
"you aren't as bad as people say you are." you swallowed your words.
the innocence in your voice, fueled him even more, the lust he felt made his eyes glow. as soon as your sentence finished, his fingers rubbed along you, the wetness causing many noises beyond the ones from your moans. he slid one finger in, essentially seeing how far he could push you. the one finger, while a surprise, didn't exactly do much for you. it wasn't until another finger slid in that made your body twitch, along with that, his palm pressed along the upper portion of your crotch, rubbing it as his fingers slid in and out of you. he managed to fit in another finger. your mouth had drool and moans seeping from it, you couldn't contain yourself. the pleasure made your back arch against his upper arm. soon, he gave up on being gentle, he slid his fingers out. the sensation of his fingertips exiting you made a small 'yelp' come out of you. he turned you over, lifting your ass towards him. this time, he had one hand inside you, the other fondling your chest. his fingers continued to pump inside and outside of you, curling at certain times, the heat from his fingers overtook all other senses. he continued to massage your chest, putting your nipple between his index his middle finger, pinching it slightly, soon, the knot in your stomach builds again.
"close. close.." your breath was heavy, words barely being distinguished between each heavy sigh. scaramouche's mouth turned into a smile, a growl came from the depths of his throat. in desperation, you stopped moving your hips against his fingers, sliding them out yourself. a thin trail of liquid coming from your entrance connected you to the tips of scaramouche's fingers. he didn't move or continue, he grabbed your shoulders and turned you over again. he stared down at you, eyes switching from looking at your eyes to your chest. your cheeks burn red and scaramouche's hands float over your body.
"are you okay? did i.. overstep?"
you smile at his softness, grabbing his hands, you place them over your chest. "i want you, um, inside me." you slide your hand down his waist, rubbing over some bandaids. his expression changed, eyes narrowing. "all you had to do was ask." he leaned back and motioned for you to take off his underwear. reluctantly, you slowly took it off, the waistband rubbing against his bulge, the waistband teased the slit on the head, forcing a groan come out his lips. your lips found its way to his penis, heat radiated onto your them. "put your mouth on it." he grabbed a handful of hair and smiled, seeing you in such a vulnerable state, "you look so beautiful as my little slut." your heart skipped a beat hearing his words, 'his,' your lips kissed his inner thighs, wetting them. his size made you worried, it was laid against his stomach, throbbing against his abs. you moved your way up, watching his hands clutch onto the bedsheets. he was too much for you to take in at first, the length hit the back of your throat immediately, but you persisted, testing your limits each time you bobbed your throat up and down. scaramouche thrusted into you, making you gag intensely, "i'm sorry, baby." he rubbed your head soothingly, encouraging you to continue. you felt his penis throb in your mouth, with one last thrust, hot cum filled your throat. your eyes filled with tears, your mouth relaxed and you lifted your head off of scaramouche. cum poured out the corners of your mouth, you did you best to swallow, but he filled you to the brim.
"you look pathetic, imagine signora seeing you like this." he wiped the cum away from your mouth with his thumb. you held yourself up, hands sinking into your mattress, your legs spread apart slightly underneath you. awkwardly, you lifted your leg above scaramouche's lap, beginning to straddle him. his eyes trailed down to your crotch, hand massaging your waist as you lowered your hips, entrance teasing the tip of his cock. pleasure immediately flowed through scaramouche's body, precum lubing his penis. any slight movement would have had his penis slide inside you easily, he began to test the waters, holding onto your hips, attempting to keep you in place, slightly above him. as a sign to let him move, you wrapped your arms around his neck, breathing heavily against it. scaramouche slammed his penis inside you, his balls slapping against your ass, sounds of skin slapping echoed into your ears. scaramouche whined slightly, praising how good he felt inside you, his hands gripped onto your ass, spreading your ass cheeks apart. you sat on the base of his penis, waiting for him to continue moving, in desperation you humped him, insinuating he continued. you couldn't move yourself, his penis was too big, feeling like too much pressure inside you. he kissed your jaw once, smiling against your smooth skin as he continued to pound into you. his penis spread you apart perfectly, the right amount of pain and pleasure. his hand striked your ass, turning it red as he moved his other hand to clasped onto your neck. you bounced your hips against his, making his cock progress deeper into you, reaching your sweet spot. your hands explored his back, nails creating artistic scratches onto him from time to time. "sorry.." you took a deep breath, trying to calm yourself, "for causing any more injuries.." his penis twitched, your clamped tighter onto him, cum streamed inside you. scaramouche groaned, continuing to pound into you, a small squeal came from your mouth as you creamed all over his penis, a mix of both of your fluids pouring out of you. you lifted your hips off of him, liquids streaming out of you. you spread your legs apart, pressing your fingers against you, cum accumulating on them. you pressed your fingers against his lips, his tongue licking your fingers clean. you pressed your body against him as you slowly slid down enough so your mouth can reach his wet penis. you licked the rest of the cum off of his penis, he squirmed against your mouth, his skin too sensitive. you swallowed carefully before yawning. scaramouche lifted you up from the arms, a soft smile painted across his face.
both of you lied down silently, recovering from the exercise. "you did great." he wrapped his arms around you, laying the both of you down. he winced slightly having your body press against his. "you'll patch me up tomorrow, right?"
you couldn't help but smile, "you're staying with me until tomorrow?"
"yeah, your station's kinda barren," he paused, "you need company."
"sounds like you like me"
"i do."
silence hung in the air, tension along with it.
scaramouche played with your hair tenderly, "and do you feel the same?"
"is it not obvious? you're going to make me say it out loud?"
"yes."
"i like you too."
"ah… do you love me?"
you turned to see his stupid self beaming at you, "yes. i guess. i tolerate you."
"please, tolerate me for more nights."
"shut up."
"anything for you."
"didn't i say shut up?"
he pressed a finger to his lips and held you tighter.
"night scara."
he rubbed your back softly, lulling you to sleep. again, not a single word came from his mouth.
morning came, sun shined on you two intertwined with one another. his clothes made a mess of your station and the sheets barely covered the two of you. the only thing that seemed to be in place was the two of you. you two felt peaceful and slept through the morning. together.

The Red Oni
Itto Arataki can be seen as a bit of an idiot, yet despite that the creator had given him favor. They would dodge the more important figures, such as Ei’s invite for dessert at her place was shut down. The Kamisato siblings couldn't get them to stay at their house for too long, even if the creator was close to the housekeeper. If anything it was common for the creator to visit the oni and his gang instead. They do not get the reason as to why they kept seeing him, they are certain that the oni can't offer what they can get.
Though the creator is a shy individual in front of them all, they could barely get them to say much. It was confusing to see the creator latch onto the extroverted oni, but curiosity got the better of Ayato. After all, they wouldn't always be in the city and would be on Yashiori island, where they first met while the creator was still in the traveler. It was also the area where he became a vessel and was given many gifts by the creator. At least that was what the reports said.
Of course, the yashiro commissioner couldn't have a rumor spread about them investigating what the creator has done when they were rejected to stay with them. It would tarnish their name, so he did a basic quick search of what the creator has done with the oni.
Yet, while in the marketplace he saw the individual who was always beside Itto, Kuki Shinbo. He couldn't help but want to ask and try to dig a bit deeper into the situation. So he decided to approach with some small talk about what she was buying.
“The creator had been craving a specific meal that they had wanted to prepare. I was sent to gather the ingredients with the gang.” She replied with a calm tone in her voice while choosing which ingredients to get.
“Oh?” Looking down at her bags and noticing some items that were from Mondstadt and Liyue, meaning she was at Ritou before coming here. “How has the creator been?”
“Fine, or as they said, ‘I am happy to stay. It's been so much fun.’” She states while glancing at the light blue haired individual before buying the items and moving on to the next store with him following.
“They really said that? I am amazed. They tend to shy away from many people, even those who are vessels.” He states while watching her gather more food.
“We usually have beetle battles so you aren't missing much.” Turning to face him fully, after getting everything she needed.
“Quite the contrary, I'd be interested in seeing how they play-”
“The rest of the matter is confidential. They have stated that they do not want to see you or your ninjas. As well as stating that you might not like what you find.” Kuki turned to leave the market. “However, they may come soon to participate in the upcoming festival.”
Leaving him alone in the market. Yet even as the day passed by and the festival was drawing closer, he couldn't help feeling a bit off.
There was something about how Kuki went about the situation, but he could not figure it out.
He wouldn't dare go against the creator and send his ninjas after them to feel his curiosity. ‘It's fine,’ he thought, and he will find out soon. It's just a few more days.
But even after those few days passed and the festival came. It felt like something was hanging in the air, there was word spreading fast about what they saw. He could help but hear what they had to say. Some were saying that the creator returned to the city again and that they are stunning in an outfit.
There might be a trend bound to happen sometime soon after the festival due to the famous figure of all of Teyvat joining the festival this time. He needed to make sure that everything was going good for them, so he and his sister had left to make sure that festival would be the best for the creator. Yet, when they found the creator they noticed that they were hiding behind the big oni.
There was something off about what they were wearing, it wasn’t just the fact that it wasn’t the best outfit they could’ve offered their grace. More so, it gives off vibes that it was someone's old clothes, though Ayato believed that it came from the oni they stood behind. He moved forward to greet the creator, they had moved out from behind the oni once they noticed that Thoma was with them.
Deciding to shrug the jealousy off, he moved forward to offer some of the best clothes for the creator. However, they said that they didn’t want to wear different clothes while holding onto the clothes. In the end, it was Itto who convinced them to change into something better but only on the condition that the old clothes would be given back.
Taking notes of how the creator was responding to the oni beside them, Ayato knows that they are closer than he expected. Yet, he ruled out lovers as soon as the thought appeared in his head and decided that they were lovers. What kind of lover calls their partner comrade after all? What can the oni offer the creator? He arrived with the creator in rags, Itto was unsuited to be the creator's partner.
It was mesmerizing seeing the creator step out with a new outfit. One that fit their status, they wore it so well, he could help but think that they would be better in hands.
“DAMN COMRADE!” Shouted the oni right beside him. “You look so amazing!”
The bigger one of the two had moved closer to the creator and enveloped them into a hug while laughing. That’s when Ayato saw it, the bite mark barely appearing out from his collar. The sight alone made him freeze and watch carefully, after all it couldn’t be the creators bite mark, right? Only for the creator to touch the same spot he was staring at, the love birds were too lost in the moment to realize that they had an audience.
After realizing what was happening between them, Ayato excused himself, “I hope the two of you enjoy the festival.”
Turning his back on the couple as he exited out of the scene.
Wishing he was the oni instead.

Silly Little Nightmare (Dean Winchester x Reader fluff)
Tumblr media
Summary: You have a nightmare and you go to Dean's room
Pairing: Dean x Reader
Warnings: death and fluff (sounds about right, eh?)
Word count: 1.1k
Note: Found an old fic I wrote years ago. It was horrible so I did I little editing. Enjoy!
Like/ reblog or both if you like it :)
Not being able to sleep was a must in your book every night.  You struggled with insomnia, nightmares and exhaustion your whole life and now living with two brothers in a cold bunker in the middle of nowhere didn’t help your situation whatsoever. The bunker was your home during the day, but a fucking nighmere during the night. The water in the pipes circling around your room made it almost impossible not to focus on the damn sound and cold air was trying to creep into your bones no matter how thick your blanket was – sometimes you hated it.
One night it got the best of you, it almost tore you apart completely and drove you to the brink of madness.  When you decided to forcefully get yourself into a deep state of sleep by taking melatonin there it was: the dream – your worst nightmare. It started off as a pleasant scenario set in the late 50’s for some unknown reason. You and the older Winchester were on a mission to kill a creature who happened to have the ability to time travel. The younger brother wasn’t there; your brain was clever enough to take everything you love away from you – step by step.  It made everything too real; every sound, every touch and every damn emotion seemed enhanced. It took you and Dean to a dark alley, similar to the ones where the worst killings and robberies would happen in real life. It made you think that Dean was the bad guy; it drugged you to the point where you couldn’t see nor hear straight. How the fuck did your brain manage to do that? You were a fucking masochist so maybe that was your answer. You couldn’t hear his voice, begging you to believe him and you didn’t see the expression on his face when you first took out your sharp knife. He looked like someone else – a monster in a human form with sharp teeth and yellow eyes, but it wasn’t Dean. He tried to run, but you were faster; he tried to fight you, but you were stronger in this universe. When you stabbed him it felt like cutting a piece of cake – surprisingly easy. You didn’t hear his hard groan but as soon as he hit the ground it was time to wake up and see what you had done. Your eyes were yours and true again as well as your ears, but you…you were far from yourself. He was laying there, blood all over his shirt and mouth, he was already far away from you. His eyes were open and empty. He was gone.
“Dean?” You got on your knees. “DEAN?”
Nothing. His groans and short breaths stopped. He wasn’t moving anymore.
“DEAN PLEASE?! Wake up?!”
“DEAN?”
“DEAN?”
The tears seemed so real and yet so foreign. Like a few drops from a cold autumn’s rain on your cheeks, but at the same time that familiar feeling of sorrow and emptiness hit you. Your body became weak, he wasn’t moving. He was gone.
You woke up. Sweat. Tears. The anger…everything hit you all at once. Shaking your head, desperately trying to pull yourself together and catch your breath, you got up and went to the hallway. It was pitch black; the darkness was overwhelming making you frantically wander. He was your first love, and first loves we tend to not forget nor get over it easily. Love sometimes wasn’t what poets make it to be; all happy and sweet as candy – it sometimes left scars, sometimes deep and more painful than any other childhood trauma you may have experienced.
No one knew about your love for Dean besides your heart. Sam was a friend, or even the brother you never had but Dean was the other side of the coin. If you could explain why he made your heart work faster you could but that was the thing about love, it was unexpected and unexplainable. The life you lived, the things you had seen, you couldn’t risk losing the friendship you had so you just buried it deep in your mind.
His room was the first one to the left. You gently opened the door and the silence was immediately replaced with soft snores coming from the bed.
“Dean?” You whispered, closing the door. “Dean?”
The sheets started moving in the dark as you sat next to him. “(Y/N)?”
“I’m sorry I-I…” You remembered the dream again. You saw his lifeless body again. “I had a nightmare.” With your sleeve you whipped the tears trying to not sound as pathetic as you thought you did.
“Hey, comere!” He pulled your arm and moved to the other side of the bed. You went with him under the covers feeling his warmth on your skin immediately.  He smelled like mint with a dash of alcohol plus something that screamed Dean – a mix of leather and gunpowder. He wrapped his arms around your small frame pulling you closer to him.
You would hug here and there, but never like this. This was intimate and yet familiar.
“It was about you.” You said pressing your forehead against his chest.
“The nightmare?”
“Yeah, I killed you. I thought you were a monster and I killed you.” The tears started creeping in again as you tried your best to keep it together.
“It was just a dream, sweetheart.” He said softly. His chin was resting on top of your head.
“I’m sorry I woke you up. It’s just…” You couldn’t see him and you didn’t want to, you felt stupid. A grown ass woman crying over a bad dream – even worse a hunter.
You lifted your head up and feeling bold you placed a kiss on his cheek. “I’m sorry.” He was still a silhouette but his eyes were on you while he was trying to restrain himself from kissing you. You weren’t the only one who had deep buried feelings in the pits of your mind. He was hooked the minute you two jammed to Ramble On by Led Zeppelin in the Impala one gloomy Sunday night after a successful hunt.
“It’s…It’s okay.” You couldn’t see but he was flustered.
“Can I stay? Please?”
Something in his gut punched him, so he went for it. He kissed you. Not in the sweet ‘I have wanted to do that for a long time’ way, but ‘please never leave me I love you’ way. At first it felt like someone pushed your face into a candy bowl but with the sweetness and a light minty flavor there was also the pleasure that came with it. It literally took your breath away and you couldn’t help but moan a little.
“Stay and never leave.” He said.

The thrusts of his hips were unrelenting, the burning stretch of his cock parting your insides so familiar and yet so exciting every single time. His deep breaths became erratic and labored, and you smiled knowing what’s gonna happen next.
“Fuck, baby,” he grunted, a single droop of sweat traveling from his forehead down the curve of his nose and you lifted you head licking it off. “Fuck, I think my heart is gonna crash.”
Clint was a generous and adventurous lover, your sex drive matched perfectly which meant you both liked to fuck like rabbits, but he was twice your age and even though it wasn’t a problem, sometimes it showed. After a long way of working, or chopping wood and doing shit in the backyard, his want for you would never go away, but his ability to go as hard and long as he usually did would definitely be affected. You never complained because truly you didn’t have a reason to, you still got your fair share of orgasms, be that caged between his massive thighs and strong arms or bouncing on top of him.
Today was one of those days, Clint practically dragged you to the bedroom, giving you only a moment to turn the stove off and ripping both of your clothes on the way up. He was needier than usual but you felt yourself getting wet just from the look of desperation in his face.
Pretty soon he was balls deep inside you, punching the air out of your lungs with every thrust and growling filth in your ear. When his energy started to give out, you felt a ringing slap landing on your thigh as he fell on his back next to you and dragged your buzzing body on top.
“Come one, baby, ride my dick. Show me how much you love me.”
You grinned, lining him up to your sleek entrance and sinking on his shaft in one smooth motion. Clint kept his eyes open, the only indication of his pleasure were his gritted teeth and the hard cock that probed at your cervix with every motion.
He became unusually quiet, his eyes running from your face, to your tits that bounced more appetizingly than a Sunday roast after years of starvation. Clint kept staring, going lower to where you easily swallowed his girthy shaft, making him grunt and moan as your walls contracted around it.
“Fuck, baby, you look so fucking hot when you ride my dick like that. Prettiest fucking thing,” he squeezed out through tense lips and his hands gripped bruises into your thighs. His strong arms helped you go up and down on his cock, he practically maneuvered you himself, used you like a barely conscious sex toy.
“You should take a picture,” you half whispered, the words interrupted by the sharp intakes of your breath every time the fat head of his cock nudged your g-spot.
“Good idea,” one of his hands released you and you saw him blindly searching for a phone beneath the pillows. Yours was the first one he found and he spent less than a couple of seconds angling the camera just right to fit you into the frame.
“Gonna be my own fucking porn star, baby.” His eyes jumped from the little screen back to your body, left hand going from gripping your thigh to squeezing your tit. The feeling of his cock becoming even harder inside you, the thrill of being recorded and the clear awe in the eyes of your man made your head dizzy. The intoxicating mix of emotions and feelings guided you to your climax way quicker than you expected, and Clint obviously saw that on your face with the way you felt him thrusting his hips up harder and steadier.
"Come on, little one, be a good girl, m and cum on my cock.” He brought the camera so close that the only thing it captured was the way his dick, wet from tour juices and his own precum, disappeared in your stretched hole. The quiet grunts and your moans were only interrupted by the filthy squelch of your cunt taking-taking-taking and the depravity of it made you want to ride him even harder. Clint brought his left hand back  to your hip making sure that his hand wasn’t blocking the view of your pussy as he started pressing and circling your aching clit violently dragging the orgasm out of you. “That's my girl, cum on me.  Fucking soak me, baby, want the drops to hit the fucking camera. Cum for me, baby."
Your body shook as your orgasm almost squeezed the life out of your body. Your vision got blurry for a moment and your hands pressed into Clint’s soft stomach to help you remain on top. While your walls continued to contract, his still hard and throbbing cock was still inside you. You took a few deep breaths, steadying yourself and shook your head to come back to your senses. Your hand silently stretched, taking the phone out of Clint’s hand that he gave with no questions. But when you turned the camera on him he was visibly confused.
“What is that about?”
“It’s my turn seeing you turn into a fucked out mess, loverboy,” you started to slowly rotate your hips, overstimulated but too hooked on seeing him come undone, on feeling him full you up. Your movements shut him up quickly, returning his attention to his own pleasure. You loved how his face screwed as if he was in pain when he came. He didn’t control himself in that moment, letting you see the raw emotions elicited by the heights of his pleasure.
Unlike him, you made sure the camera got his face, your legs already burning with exertion. You caught the moment when Clint bared his gritted teeth, and your free hand slid up his stomach to punch his nipples that he refused to admit were quite sensitive. Just as you did that your pussy squeezed his cock in a choking hold.
“Please, give me your cum,” you started whispering like a madwoman, it took all of your strength to try and keep the camera upright, “fill me up, please, I wanna feel you in my fucking stomach.”
Clint’s growl was inhumane as his hips punched into yours for the last time, warm ropes of cum painting your insides in fat stripes. For a moment you both were in trance, just looking at each other, you even forgot you were holding the phone in your hand, camera still rolling, until he took it from your hand and pressed stop.
“Bet we would make a lot of money on OnlyFans.” You giggled, laying on top of him while his cock slowly softened inside you. Your sweaty bodies stuck together, soft stomachs pressing into each other as you found the right temp of breathing.
“What’s that?” Clint asked, his hand finding your hair and stroking it gently.
“It’s a… you know what, it’s nothing.” You mumbled in his skin.
You spent a few moments in silence and just as you were about to ask Clint if he actually wanted the video or if he did it for the thrill of the moment, you heard a soft and familiar sound of his snoring.
Gently kissing his skin above his heart, you climbed off him and settled by his side, fishing the phone from between your pillows and opening the photo app.
“Finally I have a picture for your contact,” you whispered to yourself, cropping the screenshot you took from the video, a moment when he looked at you with his eyes full of content, settling in the post orgasmic haze.

Both Miles X Male!Spiderman!Reader
Tumblr media
Fem Readers DNI 18 plus DNI
Um…let me know if you want a pt 2. This kinda sucks though so….yeah. It was rushed and I hate writing in my iPad.
PT 2
-
Miles was trapped in the spider society, all the other Spider-Man’s were arguing with what to do with him. They all knew they couldn’t convince Miguel, him being stuck in his ways, but there way one person that wouldn’t put up with him.
“Let him go.” The whole society stared at you.
“What did you say?” Miguel spat while walking towards you.
“Let him go.” You stared up at him blankly. Despite making a dumb move you were intelligent, and sly. Miguel was staring you down, killing you between blinks, due to his anger he didn’t notice you grabbing a portal. You’re intelligent, we mentioned this, but the type of intelligence where you can travel universes with a click of a button.
“He won’t be let go. He’s staying here and so are you.”
You were laughing at this point, he still hadn’t noticed but some others did. Miles, Hobie, and Peter B knew what was going on. “Really?” You asked. Before Miguel could say anything Miles blasted out of the cage and jumped towards you. The whole room was in panic. “We’re not staying. Have a nice life,” you then opened the portal and jumped in with Miles.
The portal closed before the others could join. In it, a show of colors jumped around you two, hypnotizing you two. You two didn’t even see you were being sent to the wrong universe. The DNA of the person sends you to their universe, Miles is coded for another one. His spiders one.
The portal opened and you two were pushed out onto a building. You landed on your feet while Miles rolled onto the floor. You bursted out laughing. “It’s not funny. I’m not use to it like you are,” he groaned. Despite his attempts you were still laughing, practically rolling on the floor. He sighed and got up, leaving you behind while he went to his apartment.
You didn’t care that he left, by the time you stopped laughing he was out of sight. It’s not like you could go to his house, you’re dead in this universe. You’ll just go visit after in a bit. In the mean while you were fixing your portal, setting it up to go to your universe. You flipped it over and opened the screen. In bright blue the portal told you where you were, Earth 42. “No.” You screamed, “No, no. No. No. No!”
Without hesitation you started to go to Miles apartment. Him being with his family could mess this universe up. If anything happened he could not go back home and ruin his as well. The wind raced past you as you flew through the air. Within minutes you were at his apartment. On top of his building you started to make way towards the door, but bright colors were blinding you in the corner of yours eyes. Turning around you saw a mural of his dad. “This isn’t good.”
Putting the prices together you realized something, Ike’s wouldn’t be near if his dads dead, he was Aaron. “This idiot.” You groaned and swung to his uncles place. Only being there once before you soon found it. It was more or less the same as Miles universe, just darker.
Through the window a faint light was lit. The apartment looked nicer, this Aaron had more taste. Scouting the room, you saw your Miles on the punching bag. Before you got the chance to save him his uncle walked in. This one had a different aura, and if he was anything like the last one he’s the prowler. This Aaron walked around, Miles was trying to talk it out, inaudible words leaving his mouth. You could tell he was nervous, scared even. Aaron stood by a table, Miles still talking. Aaron had the prowler glove on and before acknowledging Mile she punched the punching bag on the side he wasn’t on. It took you so much strength to not jump into the room to save him.
Miles was even more scared now, but he soon became overwhelmed with his spidey senses. He looked to the top of the roof and a purple glow filled the room. Two eyes stared at him, they jumped down and stalked towards Miles. Aaron tossed the glove to him and backed up, the electric mask came off and soon Miles was staring at his own face. More words were said, Miles losing his cool demeanor earlier from the spider society. He had fear in his eyes, it all clicked with what happened in this universe. He tried saying something but his spidey senses went off, it was you.
He now had confidence knowing you were going to save him. You jumped off the roof and go to a high point on the other building. You still saw the silhouettes of the three in the window, their body language loud and clear. Miles was relaxed asking something, the other Miles tensed ready to punch him. “You so own me Miles.” You launched a web, swung, and crashed through then window.
42 Miles jumped back his mask back on. You slowly stood up, the moon light announcing you to the room. You stared him straight in the eyes as he froze. Without looking away you sent Aaron back with your webs before he could say anything. Your Miles had broke out of the chains and walked up to you, looking back at his alternate self.
“Because mine’s still here,” he continued their conversation from earlier. You didn’t have to look but you can tell he had a smug look in his face, this is going to be one long night.

Epiphany
Summary: Eddie finds one of (y/n)s special books. His imagination is fired, but that alone is not enough.
Wordcount: 1.434
Warnings: smutty but not explicit, mommy!kink, lots of fluff, clingy eddie munson, sub!eddie
Tumblr media
Eddie came whimpering into his pillow.
Sweat stood on his forehead. His breath raced. His heart was pounding. He laid slain in his bed.
What the fuck?
He patted the small paperback on his nightstand. Holy shit. (Y/n) owed him big time for keeping this a secret from him.
But from the top.
Eddie and (y/n) had been dating for six months. He was happy and would probably steal the moon for her if he could.
Last week she had stayed over at the trailer for a few days. They hadn't gotten out of bed much, but neither of them had cared. Wayne may have cared.
It had been there goodbye before she would travel to visit relatives for two weeks over the summer vacations.
It wasn't until she was already gone and on the plane that Eddie had found the little book. It had probably fallen out of her bag.
He knew by now that she liked tearjerkers as well as fantasy. But he had never read any of them.
The little book was very thin, so he had decided it would be quick to read through. After a few pages, it became clear that this was a different kind of.... romance.
A respected nineteenth century businessman was married to the daughter of one of his partners.
So far so unspectacular, until he got to the halfway point.
'"What do you say?" purred Elizabeth, leaning down to him.
"Thank you.", groaned John.
Elizabeth buried her fingers in his hair and pulled forcefully. "Thank you what?"
"Thank you mommy. Thank you."
"Good boy.", she purred, kissing him on the forehead. "Are you Mommy's good boy?"
"Yes. Yes, Mommy. Please." John broke out in a sweat. His head went light. His thoughts clouded over. For over an hour now, his wife had been torturing him in the sweetest way possible.
"Please what?"
"Please may I come? Mommy? Please? Please?"
She stroked his chest. "You've been a good boy.... You have thirty seconds. Otherwise, I guess I'll have to wait... Until you get another thirty."
John whimpered and threw his head back.
"Thanks Mommy."
It didn't take fifteen seconds for John's thoughts to completely dissolve into air and clouds and he seemed to float through time with a blissful ease.'
Eddie had had an epiphany. Not just the sex... What came after. The baths and the cuddling. The tenderness. The caring... The love.
He wanted all of that with (y/n). He wanted (y/n) to be his mommy. He blushed at the thought.
The two weeks dragged on like chewing gum for Eddie. His pillow probably hated him by now and he was getting crankier with each passing day. His imagination was on full blast, but afterwards there was never anyone to hold him and stroke his back.
He waited jitterily at the front of the trailer until (y/n)s car pulled up and came to a stop.
He jumped up and immediately ran to her. He wrapped his arms around her before she could even say anything and buried his face against her neck. She put her arms around his shoulders as well and gently stroked up and down his back. Eddie melted away. A whimper escaped his throat.
"I missed you," he sighed.
"I missed you too." she replied softly.
She patted him on the back encouragingly. "Shall we go inside, or do you want to put down roots here?"
Eddie reluctantly let go of her but immediately grabbed her hand before heading to the trailer.
As soon as the door closed behind them, he wrapped his arms around her again. He had always enjoyed touching, especially with (y/n), but he had never been this extreme.
"What's up with you?" she laughed.
He just grumbled and buried himself against her neck again. "Found something," he muttered.
"What is it?"
"A book."
"A book."
"Your... book... about... About John and Elizabeth."
His cheeks turned bright red.
(Y/n) pushed him slightly away from him. Which was not easy. He was like a baby koala.
"THE book?"
He nodded. He didn't know if it was good that (y/n) was blushing too or not. He just knew he wanted to be back in her arms.
"I want...that," Eddie mumbled shyly. Eddie Munson and shy.
"What exactly?" asked (y/n), who was starting to understand what was probably going on with him.
He sat down on the couch that was in the main area of the trailer. "I want Mommy." He had thought it would be embarrassing, but not that embarrassing. The word had been running through his head over and over for two weeks. Had been the center of his imagination. But actually saying it was something else.
"You want me to be Mommy?"
Eddie nodded.
"And what do you want Mommy to do?"
Eddie kneaded his hands. "What... What they do in the book. I want Mommy to... Tell me what to do.... I want to be good. I want to make Mommy happy." Tears stood in Eddie's eyes. What was going on now?
(Y/n) immediately sat down on his lap and put her arms around him. "Okay." she sighed.
Eddie sobbed. "What's wrong with me?"
(Y/n) stroked the back of his head. Rubbed the back of his neck. "Did you imagine what it would be like to do all that?... To make Mommy happy?"
Eddie nodded.
"Were you euphoric? Like you could completely turn your head off for a second?"
Eddie nodded again.
"And then there was no one there, was there?"
"No... I was alone.", he sobbed.
"Poor baby." she sighed again, squeezing her arms tighter around him. "It's like drugs Eddie after the high comes the fall. That's why it's important that you come down safely after. You've been psyching yourself up for days and now you need someone to catch you."
Eddie let out the next sob. "Are you going to stay here?"
"Of course. Mommy's staying." She was still stroking his hair. "But we should move this to a more comfortable place. So you're a good boy and you're going to bed? Mommy's just getting water and snacks."
Everything in Eddie resisted letting her go, but he also wanted to prove to her that he was good. No matter how stupid that sounded. No matter how embarrassing it was going to be.
He slowly got up and went to his room. He lay down on his abused pillow and waited.
(Y/n) came a little later and lay down with him. She practically pulled him on top of her and just held him.
"We need to talk about some things first Eddie."
"Like what?"
"About everything, actually," she began. "What we want to do meanwhile. Where our boundaries are. How we're going to show each other we want to stop. What you need after that. What I need after."
He breathed in her scent. "Okay... I have time right now."
(Y/n) laughed lightly and Eddie was jolted. "Alright. Safe words? Any word so I know you want to stop right now. Preferably something you'd never say during sex," she explained.
"Jason." said Eddie immediately.
(Y/n) laughed again. "Good, Jason. Mine's Ruby."
Eddie nodded. "Ruby." he repeated.
"Anything you don't want at all?"
"There's a scene where she hits him.", he said, gesturing weakly in the book's direction. "I don't want that. Ever."
"Okay. I don't want that either. Do you like it when she praises him?"
Eddie blushed again. "Yeah... Very much."
"I can bring you some more books. So you'll get... more inspiration.", she grinned.
"How many of those do you have?", he asked curiously.
She smiled. "About the subject itself.... Some." she confessed. "But normally the woman is not actually the leading part. I only have four of those... When I first read this dynamic... Something made me understand it."
"Are you bringing them."
She nodded, and he felt it more than he saw it.
"And after that?" she asked further. "What do you imagine after that?"
"This is nice.", he said an cuddled more into her.
"Does talking help?"
"I like talking... I just don't know if I'll even be able to after it." he chuckled boisterously. He was starting to feel calmer. More relaxed.
"Do you want me to talk? I could read something to you."
"Lord of the Rings?" he asked euphorically, like a child.
(Y/n) laughed. "Sure. Lord of the Rings."
Eddie nodded.
"Feeling better?"
Eddie buried himself further against her chest. Almost curled up on top of her and closed his eyes. "Yes Mommy."

As you sat together in Oscar's cozy living room, the two of you found yourselves engrossed in a conversation about the plot of a book.
Oscar rested his head on your lap, finding comfort in your presence as you gently caressed his hair, your fingers gliding through the strands with a soothing touch.
"Can you believe the protagonist fell into the same trap for the third time?" you chuckled, your voice filled with amusement. "I mean, come on, haven't they learned anything from the previous encounters?"
Oscar let out a soft laugh, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "I guess they have a knack for making questionable life choices," he replied, his voice carrying a playful tone. "But hey, it wouldn't be much of a story if they suddenly became the poster child for common sense, right?"
You grinned. "True, true. But seriously, who walks alone into a dark, creepy forest at midnight? That's just asking for trouble."
Oscar tilted his head slightly, looking up at you with a glint in his eyes. "Well, maybe they have an adventurous spirit that we can't fully understand," he suggested with a smirk. "Or maybe they just have a severe case of bad decision-making skills."
You swatted his arm, your laughter filling the air. "Oh please, I think they're just in desperate need of a good friend who can talk some sense into them."
He chuckled, his head still resting comfortably on your lap. A soft silence settled between you, the only sound being the gentle rustle of pages as you turned the book over, examining the cover.
Oscar's curious eyes soon landed on the pendant dangling from your neck. It glimmered softly in the warm glow of the lamp, catching his attention. He reached out, his fingertips lightly grazing the pendant, his brow furrowed in curiosity.
"What's this?" Oscar asked, his voice filled with genuine intrigue. "I don't remember seeing this pendant before. Is it new?"
You smiled, the pendant's weight resting comfortably against your chest. "Oh, this?" you replied, gently holding the pendant between your fingers. "No, it's not exactly new. I've had it for a while, but I don't always wear it."
Oscar's eyes widened with curiosity. "Is there a story behind it? You know I'm a sucker for stories," he said, his voice laced with a growing enthusiasm.
You chuckled, feeling a twinge of nostalgia. "Well, I do have a story to tell i guess," you began, your voice taking on a storytelling tone. "This pendant belonged to my grandmother. She was a woman of incredible strength and resilience. Whenever I wear it, I feel a connection to her, as if her spirit is still with me."
Oscar leaned in, captivated by your words. "That's beautiful," he murmured, his gaze fixed on the pendant. "It's amazing how objects can hold so much meaning, isn't it?"
You nodded, a soft smile gracing your lips. "Absolutely. It's like a reminder of the love and wisdom passed down through generations. And you know what? It's said that this pendant brings good luck to its wearer."
Oscar raised an eyebrow, a mischievous glimmer in his eyes. "Good luck, huh?" he teased. "Well, I hope some of that luck rubs off on me. Lord knows I could use it."
You laughed, playfully rolling your eyes. "Oh, come on, Oscar. You're doing just fine."
He chuckled, leaning his head back onto your lap, his eyes twinkling with fondness. "I suppose you're right," he admitted, his voice filled with warmth. "But still, that pendant is something special. It's like a piece of your history that I never knew about until now."
The air around you grew quiet, a comfortable silence settling between you until Oscar's mischievous nature sparked an idea in his mind, and a playful glint danced in his eyes as he proposed, "What if this pendant is actually magical?"
You chuckled, shaking your head at his ridiculous suggestion. "Seriously, Oscar. Magic? Don't be ridiculous," you replied, a hint of amusement in your voice. "It's just a sentimental piece of jewellery."
He grinned, undeterred by your skepticism. "But think about it. What harm is there in giving it a try? We could have a little fun, see if anything magical happens," Oscar persisted, his voice laced with harmless insistence.
You found yourself unable to resist his contagious enthusiasm, a smile tugging at the corners of your lips. "Alright, alright. Just for the sake of curiosity," you gave in, your voice filled with playful surrender. "What do you have in mind?"
Oscar's eyes gleamed with excitement as he sat up, his gaze fixed on the pendant. "Let's make a wish," he suggested, his voice barely containing his excitement. "Hold the pendant tight and think of something you'd like to happen. Who knows? Maybe the pendant will surprise us."
You couldn't help but giggle at his childlike enthusiasm, a spark of curiosity ignited within you. "Alright, fine," you agreed, humor lacing your voice. "But don't get upset if nothing magical happens."
You clasped the pendant in your palm, your fingers curling around it, and closed your eyes, allowing yourself to get caught up in the whimsical moment. Thoughts flickered through your mind as you pondered what you should wish for. And then, with a flicker of mischief, you settled on your wish, something that seemed too far-fetched to come true.
"Okay, I'm done," you announced, opening your eyes and sharing a playful glance with Oscar. "Now, what about you?"
Oscar's grin widened, his eyes sparkling with anticipation. "Well, since we're being ridiculous anyways, let's wish for an extraordinary adventure. Something that takes us to places we've never been before, filled with wonder and excitement."
The air crackled with a sense of possibility as you both sat there, wishing for the improbable, hoping for a hint of magic. Whether it was the pendant or simply the power of imagination, a thrilling energy filled the room, ready to propel you both into the unknown.
A brilliant flash of light erupted behind your closed eyes, momentarily blinding you both. As you cautiously opened your eyes, expecting to see the familiar surroundings of Oscar's living room, you were met with a surprising sight. Instead of the cozy confines of the living room, you found yourselves standing in the midst of a vibrant and bustling children's playground.
Confusion painted your features as you took in the realistic setting around you. The playground was alive with the sounds of laughter and playful chatter, a symphony of youthful energy. A colorful array of swings, slides, and climbing frames adorned the area, each piece of equipment carefully designed for the amusement and delight of children.
Children of various ages scampered about, their excited squeals filling the air. Some played tag, their giggles echoing, while others engaged in imaginative games, their animated expressions painting their faces with joy. Parents sat on benches, watching over their little ones with tender smiles and occasional words of encouragement.
You and Oscar exchanged bewildered glances, attempting to make sense of this inexplicable shift in reality. The atmosphere was anything but fantastical or otherworldly. Instead, it felt grounded and familiar, as if you had been transported to a vivid snapshot of everyday life.
"What just happened?" you questioned, your voice laced with both awe and confusion. "How did we end up here?"
Oscar's brows furrowed, his eyes scanning the surroundings. "I have no idea," he replied, his voice filled with genuine bewilderment. "But one thing's for sure, we're definitely not in my living room anymore."
A mixture of curiosity and trepidation swirled within you both. The unexpected turn of events had brought you to this lively playground, and the possibilities that lay ahead were both intriguing and uncertain.
Before you realize, Oscar dashed off somewhere behind you. Peering out from behind a bush, Oscar's eyes widened in surprise as he noticed a young girl, no older than five, making her way towards you. Her innocent gaze held a hint of familiarity, and it was as if she carried a secret that only you were meant to discover. Oscar urged you to interact with her, his voice barely audible as he whispered from his hiding spot.
Meanwhile, the little girl, with her petite frame and rosy cheeks, exuded an undeniable charm. She wore a simple, pastel-colored dress adorned with tiny floral patterns, the fabric swaying gently with each step. Her dark curls cascaded down in bouncy ringlets, framing her sweet little face. The innocence in her wide, doe-like eyes was paired with a mischievous spark, as if she knew more than she let on.
As she approached you, her tiny hand reaching out, she uttered a single word that pierced the air and left you momentarily stunned. "Mommy."
You gasped, taken aback by her words, and instinctively replied, "You're mistaken, little buddy. I'm not your mommy." But the little girl shook her head, her curls bouncing with the motion. Her voice, sweet and unwavering, insisted, "Yes, you are. You're my mommy."
Confusion swept over you, mingling with a mix of emotions that were difficult to untangle. Before you could gather your thoughts, another woman approached, her features mirroring a sense of familiarity. She wore a warm smile on her face, tinged with a touch of relief.
"Angele's mommy, you're back?" the woman exclaimed, her voice filled with both surprise and joy. You found yourself at a loss for words, your mind struggling to make sense of this inexplicable situation. "I... I guess?" you stammered, your response betraying your confusion.
The woman's eyes lingered on you, taking in your appearance, and she couldn't help but make a remark. "You look different, Angele's mommy," she commented, her tone a mix of astonishment and admiration. "You seem like you aged ten years backward, despite your hectic job."
A jolt of realization coursed through you at her words, an unsettling truth dawning upon you. You couldn't help but ask, your voice trembling with a mix of disbelief and curiosity, "My job...?" The question hung in the air, awaiting the woman's response.
She met your gaze, her eyes filled with understanding. "Yes, aren't you a journalist?" she replied, her voice gentle yet certain. "You travel almost all the time, leaving this sweet angel behind."
Your mind grappled with the realization that you had somehow traveled through time. The innocence and conviction in the little girl's eyes, coupled with the woman's recognition, painted a picture that defied all logic.
"Oh, I see. I should probably take her home," you responded, your voice filled with a mix of uncertainty and responsibility. The woman nodded in agreement. She then posed a question that struck a chord of confusion within you.
"Is he back?" she inquired, her voice carrying a hopeful tone. You hesitated, caught off guard by the mention of a husband whose identity remained a mystery to you. "Is he...? Erm..." you mumbled, your thoughts trailing off into a perplexing haze.
The woman's assumption about the busy nature of your relationship triggered a twinge of annoyance deep within you. How could she make such presumptions without knowing the intricacies of your life? Yet, before you could voice your frustration, you reminded yourself of the bigger puzzle at hand.
"Aww, you both are such a busy couple, barely have time for each other, let alone your child. I'm assuming he is abroad," the woman continued, her words rubbing against your raw nerves. An involuntary twitch of annoyance danced in your eye, momentarily distracting you from the enigma surrounding your husband's whereabouts.
Bidding the woman a hasty farewell, you turned to leave the playground with the child holding your hand, determined to sort out the mess you found yourself in. Oscar, who had been observing the interaction from a distance, swiftly caught up to you, his footsteps echoing your own.
As you walked away, a joyful squeal filled the air, capturing your attention. The little girl had noticed Oscar's presence and excitement erupted within her. "Daddy? You're back?" she exclaimed, her voice brimming with delight and hope.
You paused, a mix of emotions swirling within you. The puzzle pieces were falling into place, revealing a glimpse of the relationships that had been lost in this peculiar time-shift.
Oscar's bewildered gaze met yours, both of you frozen in a state of shock and disbelief. You shared a silent exchange of wide-eyed bewilderment, your jaws hanging open in unison. Oscar mustered a whisper, his voice filled with astonishment, "What...?"
As your attention shifted back to the little girl, you couldn't help but notice the striking resemblance she bore to both you and Oscar. Her plump lips mirrored yours, while her sharp brows and the combination of Oscar's nose and eyes adorned her face. She was a living proof of your shared features.
In a burst of excitement, the little girl leaped towards Oscar, her tiny arms outstretched, gesturing for him to pick her up. Oscar obliged, his heart swelling with warmth as he cradled the child in his arms. The surge of fatherly affection overwhelmed him, mirroring the surge of motherly emotions that welled up within you.
The little girl wrapped her arms around Oscar's neck, her embrace a proof to the depth of their connection. Her voice, filled with longing, reached your ears as she whispered, "Daddy, I missed you so much." Oscar's gaze flickered towards you, a mix of surprise and uncertainty in his eyes, before he composed himself with a fake cough.
"Oh, did you? Have I been really busy?" he inquired, a hint of anticipation in his voice. The little girl nodded emphatically, confirming the void his absence had left in her life. Despite his curiosity about his own occupation and the reasons for his busyness, he refrained from asking the child, instead focusing on their relationship.
"Have I not been giving you enough time? Are you upset with Daddy for that?" he whispered into her ear, his hand gently patting her small back. The little girl's voice, filled with a childlike innocence, responded, "Mommy says you always try your best to make time for us when you can, so it's okay." Oscar's gaze turned to you, his expression unreadable, as if the weight of this unexpected bond settled between you.
Feeling slightly out of place, you cleared your throat to regain their attention. As the little girl shifted her focus towards you, a newfound maternal instinct took hold, guiding your words. "My angel, can you show us where our house is? Do you know where it is?" you cooed, your voice instinctively morphing into that of a mother.
Thankfully, the child nodded, her eyes brimming with confidence. "Yes, it's near," she replied, her small finger pointing in a direction that beckoned you to follow.
As you walked alongside Oscar, the weight of uncertainty still hung in the air, yet the undeniable connection between him, the little girl, and yourself brought a sense of purpose.
When you and Oscar reached the grand house, an air of opulence surrounded its exterior, betraying a life of wealth and prosperity. As your eyes scanned the impressive structure, Oscar couldn't help but whisper, "We must be making banks to own this." Your agreement came in a playful tone, responding with, "We surely have to be..."
Stepping into the house, the sight that greeted you was unexpected. The floor was scattered with small toy cars and an array of other toys, indicating the presence of a child. As you took in the scene, a young woman in her twenties approached you, her eyes filled with relief.
"Mrs. Piastri, you're back. Thank God. Aaron was crying for you," she expressed, her voice tinged with gratitude. Confusion etched itself onto both yours and Oscar's faces until a toddler-like boy, approximately three years old, darted toward you. This time, the child's resemblance to Oscar was striking, a reflection of his features.
For a fleeting moment, the weight of your unexpected journey and the realization that you had time-traveled from a time when your relationship with Oscar was solely platonic faded away. In its place, a touch of annoyance crossed your face, and you turned to Oscar, wearing an expression of playful annoyance.
"You only gave me a year to rest before another one...?" you teased, your tone holding a mix of incredulity and humour. The humour in your remark served as a reminder of the shared history you and Oscar had, even if the circumstances had taken an unforeseen turn.
As Aaron, the young boy who bore an uncanny resemblance to Oscar, stood before you, a genuine smile spread across your face. Crouching down, you extended your arms and scooped up the young boy into a warm embrace. His little frame nestled against your chest, and you marvelled at the familiarity of his features, the reflection of Oscar's unmistakable traits. The connection between you and this child felt surprisingly natural, as if it were meant to be.
As you held him close, you turned your attention to the young woman who had greeted you. With a gentle smile, you deduced that she must be his nanny, entrusted with caring for him during your absence. Gratitude swelled within you for the love and attention she had provided in your stead.
"Thank you for taking care of him," you expressed sincerely, your voice laced with appreciation. "I can see how much he means to you. It's reassuring to know he's been in good hands." The young woman's eyes softened, a mixture of relief and fondness evident in her gaze.
"He's an incredible little boy," she replied warmly. "Full of energy and curiosity. But he's missed having his mommy around. It's good to have you back."
You nodded, a mixture of emotions swirling within you. The pull of this new life, this altered reality, was undeniably strong. The warmth of Aaron's presence and the genuine affection that radiated between you and Oscar tugged at your heartstrings, enticing you to fully immerse yourself in the role of a mother and wife.
As Oscar inquired about his daughter's hunger, the young girl, Angele, nodded eagerly. Her eyes sparkled with anticipation, mirroring the excitement that danced within Oscar's own gaze. It was a beautiful sight to witness, the unspoken bond between father and daughter.
Taking a moment to reflect, you realized that Aaron, too, must be in need of food. After all, it was late in the afternoon. Concerned about his well-being, you turned to the young woman who had been caring for him in your absence. With a gentle smile, you inquired, "Has Aaron had his meal?"
The woman nodded, her face glowing with a sense of reassurance. "Yes, he had his food a little while ago. He's been well taken care of." Her words offered solace, allowing you to focus on the immediate task at hand: feeding your daughter.
With a nurturing instinct taking over, you turned your attention to preparing a meal for your daughter. The kitchen became a haven of comforting aromas as you skillfully concocted a dish that would satiate her hunger. The sound of sizzling pans and the tantalizing scent of home-cooked food filled the air.
Oscar, in the meantime, kept her entertained with stories and playful banter, his infectious laughter ringing through the room. It was heartwarming to witness their bond, a testament to the love and care they had shared in your absence.
As the meal came together, you plated the food, arranging it with care and attention. Angele's eyes widened with anticipation as you presented her with the delicious feast. She dug into the food, her little hands grasping the utensils, a joyful messiness enveloping her.
As the evening progressed, the passing of time brought forth a gentle reminder that bedtime was drawing near. The warmth of the day began to mellow into a tranquil evening, and the soft whispers of fatigue whispered through the air.
Angele, her belly satisfied and eyelids growing heavy, leaned against Oscar, her little body nestled comfortably in his embrace. The playful energy that had filled the room gradually waned, replaced by a soothing calmness as the hour for slumber approached. Oscar gently guided his daughter towards the routine of preparing for bed.
Watching the scene unfold, a sense of tranquility washed over you. It was a testament to the bond you shared, a testament to the loving environment you had created. The roles you now found yourself immersed in, that of a mother and a wife, brought a deep sense of fulfillment. The love that radiated within the walls of this home, built on the foundation of shared experiences and cherished moments, resonated within your soul.
As the time came to settle Aaron into his crib, you cradled him in your arms, allowing the serenity of the moment to envelop you both. The rhythmic rise and fall of his tiny chest mirrored the peace that settled within your own being. Gently, you placed him down, his soft breaths filling the room.
With the children tucked in, sleep beckoning them to dreamland, you found yourself pausing at the threshold of the door. In this moment of stillness, with the soft glow of night casting its gentle embrace, you couldn't help but feel a mixture of emotions.
On one hand, the joy and contentment of this newfound life tugged at your heartstrings, whispering of the love and connection that enveloped you. The familiarity and the profound bond you shared with Oscar and the children sparked a profound sense of belonging.
As you stood at the threshold of the children's room, a flicker of movement caught your eye, drawing your attention to the wall adorned with a series of framed photographs. A gasp escaped your lips, like a breath catching in your throat, as your gaze fixated on the images captured within those frames.
Oscar, sensing your surprise, turned to you with concern etched on his face. "What happened?" he inquired, his voice laced with a mixture of curiosity and worry. You couldn't bring yourself to articulate the profound realization that had swept over you, so instead, you simply tilted your head, gesturing for him to direct his gaze towards the wall.
Together, your eyes traced the lines and contours of the photographs, each frame capturing a milestone in Oscar's journey as an accomplished Formula 1 driver. The vibrant colors and frozen moments of triumph adorned the wall, each image depicting him on the podium, a testament to his skill, determination, and hard-earned victories.
As the weight of the revelation settled upon you both, the realization blossomed in your minds: both of you had achieved your dreams. The photographs were a tangible reminder of the aspirations you had pursued and conquered, the paths that had led you to this very moment.
In the midst of this profound realization, Oscar's hand gently landed upon your shoulder, a comforting touch that spoke volumes without the need for words. It was a gesture that conveyed his support, his pride in your own accomplishments as a journalist, and the shared journey that had brought you to this point.
Silent understanding passed between you, a connection forged not only through friendship but also through the intertwining of dreams fulfilled. At that moment, you knew that despite the lingering mysteries of your past, the present held its own magic: a symphony of love, success, and shared aspirations.
"What do we do now?" you turn to ask Oscar, your voice filled with a mixture of uncertainty and determination. Before he can respond, a subtle noise interrupts the air, sending both of you into a state of alertness. It's the sound of the main door being unlocked.
Wide-eyed, you exchange a quick glance with Oscar, silently agreeing on the need to hide yourselves. In unison, you move swiftly, finding refuge in a concealed spot within the living room. Your breaths become shallow, heartbeats pounding in your ears as the door opens with deliberate caution.
There they are: the older versions of yourselves, stepping into the space you once called home. Their features etched with the weight of experiences yet to come, they move with a sense of purpose. You stole a glance at Oscar beside you, and he whispered urgently, "We must go back to our time."
As the future versions of you and Oscar move through the house, checking on the children's bedrooms and eventually reaching their own, you nodded in agreement with Oscar's suggestion. "I know," you replied, your voice carrying a hint of determination. "Let's do what we did before and see if we can return."
Closing your eyes, you clasped the pendant tightly in your hands, willing the familiar flash of light to transport you back to where you belong. But the first attempt proved unsuccessful, followed by the second and third. Frustration and fatigue started to gnaw at your resolve, casting doubt upon the possibility of going back to your own timeline.
Yet, as you closed your eyes for the fourth time, holding the pendant with a renewed sense of hope, something shifted. Behind your closed eyes, a brilliant burst of light illuminates the darkness, engulfing your senses in a swirling vortex. Time and space converge, carrying you and Oscar along a torrent of energy.
When you finally opened your eyes, you found yourselves back in the familiar living room—the same room where you once mocked the plot of a book, where Oscar rested his head upon your lap as you caressed his hair. Relief coursed through your veins, mingling with a lingering curiosity about the future versions of yourselves you encountered.
"Oh my god, I can't believe this," you gasped, your voice trembling with a mix of astonishment and disbelief. The familiar surroundings of the living room suddenly took on a whole new significance, and your heart races with the weight of the realisation.
Oscar, his eyes searching yours, sensed the depth of your emotions. A flicker of concern crossed his face, but there's also a hint of something else: something vulnerable. He took a step closer and responded, "Is marrying me really that unbelievable?" His voice carried a touch of mild offence, but his eyes betrayed the hope that you understood what he was trying to convey.
Caught off guard by his reaction, you paused, your mind racing to make sense of it all. The pieces started to fall into place, and you realised that his response held a deeper meaning. The unspoken tension between you suddenly became palpable, and you found yourself drawn to his gaze, searching for the truth hidden within.
A surge of realisation flooded through you, mingling with your own suppressed feelings. Memories of shared moments, stolen glances, and unspoken desires rush to the forefront of your mind. It's as if you've been dancing around the truth for years, and now, finally, everything became clear.
Breathlessly, you managed to utter, "Oscar, I... I didn't realise." Your voice wavered, filled with a mixture of surprise and realisation, as you confronted the truth that has been waiting to be acknowledged.
Oscar's expression softened, his eyes brimming with vulnerability and affection. He took another step closer, closing the distance between you, and reached out to gently touch your arm. "I've liked you, more than just a friend, for so long," he admitted, his voice filled with sincerity. "Seeing you here, in this moment, has only made those feelings stronger. I never thought I'd have the chance to tell you."
Your heart raced, the weight of unspoken emotions now laid bare before you. You found the courage to meet his gaze, and you confessed, "Oscar, I... I've liked you too. More than I've ever admitted. I've been pining over you all these years, and I never thought you felt the same way."
A mixture of relief and joy spread across Oscar's face, mirroring the emotions that surge within you. "We've been fools, hiding our feelings for fear of losing what we had," he confessed, his voice filled with regret. "But now, with this glimpse of our potential future, I can't hold back any longer."
As the weight of your shared emotions filled the room, you found yourself irresistibly drawn to Oscar. Step by step, you closed the distance between you until you were standing mere inches apart. The air crackled with anticipation, the atmosphere thick with the unspoken desires that have lingered for far too long.
Without a word, you reached out and gently cupped Oscar's face in your hands, your fingers trembling with a mix of nerves and excitement. His eyes locked onto yours, their depths reflecting the intensity of the moment. And in that fleeting second, the world around you faded into insignificance, leaving only the two of you suspended in time.
A tender smile played at the corners of your lips as you leaned in, closing the final gap between you. Your heart raced with anticipation, every fibre of your being yearning for the connection that has eluded you for so long. And then, finally, your lips met in a soft, passionate kiss.
In that single moment, the world around you ceased to exist. Time stood still as you lost yourselves in the depth of your kiss, the electricity between you intensifying with each passing second.
Wrapped in each other's arms, you experienced an intense sense of belonging. The doubts and uncertainties that once plagued your minds melted away, replaced by a certainty that you've found your soulmate. The taste of this stolen moment lingered on your lips, a promise of a future filled with passion, love, and fulfilled dreams.
When you finally pulled away, a soft glow illuminated both your faces. With a smile that spoke volumes, Oscar brushed a strand of hair behind your ear and whispered, "I've dreamt of this moment for so long, and now it's finally real." His voice was filled with a mixture of tenderness and awe.
With a mischievous glimmer in your eyes, you playfully nudged Oscar's side. "You know what, let's not get all mushy right now. I still want to be able to beat you up and bully you. Best friend privileges are too good to let go."
Oscar grinned, his confusion fading into a knowing smile. "You're right. But how about we add a little extra something to our friendship?"
You raised an eyebrow, intrigued by his suggestion. "Oh really? And what might that be?"
He leaned in, his voice laced with playful intent. "How about we stay best friends, but with the added benefits of making out and cuddling whenever we want? Taking it slow, you know?"
"Sounds like a plan. Count me in."
And just like that, the weight of romantic expectations lifted, and you both fell back into the comfort of your deep friendship.
Oscar grinned and nudged you playfully. "Hey, how about we hit the gym together? Future formula 1 champions should stay fit, you know."
You rolled your eyes. "Oh, come on. Don't drag me into this, I have studying to do."
Oscar shook his head, a determined smile on his face. "Nuh uh. No more excuses. I'm not taking no for an answer. Time to get those endorphins flowing."
Before you could protest further, Oscar swiftly scooped you up into his arms, effortlessly carrying you. You let out a surprised yelp, your protests drowned out by laughter.
"Oscar, put me down!" you exclaimed, playfully swatting at him.
He chuckled and kept walking towards the gym. "No way. I'm going to the gym, and you're coming with me."
You resigned yourself to the inevitable, knowing there's no escaping Oscar's determination. Besides, a part of you secretly enjoyed his antics. With a playful sigh, you settled into his arms, enjoying the closeness.
Oscar gently set you down, a triumphant grin on his face. "See? That wasn't so bad, was it?"
You playfully pouted and crossed your arms. "Fine, you win. But only this once. Don't expect me to become a gym enthusiast overnight."
Oscar chuckled. "Oh, I won't push you too hard."
As you and Oscar caught your breath after a particularly intense workout, a comfortable silence settled between you. The air was filled with a mix of contentment and unspoken words, and you could feel the shift in the atmosphere.
Oscar's eyes met yours, a glimmer of affection shining through. Without warning, he leaned in, pressing a soft, lingering kiss against your lips. The unexpected gesture left you momentarily breathless, a blush spreading across your cheeks.
"Oscar," you whispered, your cheeks tinged red. "What was that for?"
He grinned, his gaze filled with warmth. "Well, we have babies in the future, remember?"
You playfully tugged at a strand of his hair, a familiar spark of mischief in your eyes. "Oh, is that how you're going to convince me? Using our future children against me?"
Oscar laughed, the sound that filled the air around you. "Hey, whatever works, right?"
You let out a mock sigh, shaking your head. "Fine, I guess I'll let you off the hook this time. But don't make a habit out of it."
He chuckled and pulled you into a warm embrace, his arms enveloping you. "No promises, sorry baby."
You scrunched your brows, turning to face him in his embrace. "Didn't we literally promise to take it slow like an hour ago?"
"Oops." There wasn't a hint of guilt in his eyes.
You narrowed your eyes. "Oscar… aren't you having too much fun?"
He shrugged. "Can't blame me."

You rarely smoked.
The only time you did was after you and Hans were intimate. He would roll over onto his side, asleep, and you would get up from the bed, wrapping your robe around you and heading outside to the front porch, sitting right on the top stair.
It was comforting to you, because you imagined the flame and smoke from the cigarette would burn the remnants of him from your body.
You felt them in your pocket, the promise of temporary relief calling to you like a siren. You ignored them, choosing to listen to the sounds of the woods around you. The crickets sang, the frogs croaked, and you heard the chattering of nocturnal animals as they found food for the night. Everything was so peaceful, so why couldn’t you stop yourself from feeling so tense?
It had been two days since the trip into Rhodes. Hans had stayed in his office for most of that time, only coming out to eat and sleep. But as was typical before leaving on trips, Hans wanted you, so you obliged him.
Sex with Hans felt like a task, no passion between the two of you. He treated it like he treated his business: efficiently. There was no foreplay, no lingering touches, nothing. It was just straight to the point, and done as soon as it started, which came as a relief to you. The less time you had to spend doing it with him, the better.
However, as much as it shamed you to admit it, your thoughts had not been of Hans during the moment. Instead of cold gray eyes traveling down your body, you imagined they were a certain shade of blue. Instead of pallid skin, you imagined it was tanned, roughened from years in the suns. And when Hans’ hands did touch you, you imagined they were strong and broad, calloused yet gentle. You’d be a liar if you said it didn’t make it easier.
Disgusted with yourself, you ran a hand down your face, slumping forward where you sat on the stair. Cold air dug into your skin, and you tightened your robe further around your body. The silk felt nice against your skin, but it did nothing to protect against the elements.
You were about to fish the pack out of your pocket, but the sound of hoofbeats had you perking your head up, eyes focusing on the small path in front of you. Emerging from the shadows was a man on horseback, lantern in one hand that lit up the side of his face. It took you a second to register who it was, not quite believing your eyes at first.
“Arthur?” You called out. Not only could you not escape from him in your thoughts, but here he was in reality. Not that you minded, but of course the timing had to be terrible.
He responded with a noise of affirmation, and you couldn’t help the smile that tugged at your lips. “What’re you doin’ here? It’s very late.” You knew it was somewhere between nine and ten at night, which is a little late for visitors. “Don’t tell me you’re here to try and rob me again.”
Arthur audibly sighed, shaking his head as he dismounted his horse. “You ain’t ever gonna let that go, are you?” You watched as he secured the reins around a nearby tree before making his way over to you.
“Never,” you laughed, and despite your better judgment, you scooted over to the side to give Arthur room to sit. You patted the stair when he got to the porch, and he sat down next to you. The scent of tobacco and gunpowder wafted over you, and you felt his jacket covered arm brush yours, causing you to shiver.
It was at that point you remembered you were only wearing your undergarments underneath, and you tightened the robe even more around your body, both because of self awareness and the temperature.
Wordlessly, you felt Arthur shift, taking his jacket and draping it across your shoulders. The outside material of the jacket had been rough, but the inside was lined with a soft pelt, warmed by Arthur’s body. The addicting scent was even stronger now, causing your head to spin, and you resisted the urge to bury your face into it. “You’ll catch your death out here,” he said disapprovingly. You just chuckled in response.
“What’re you doin’ out here, anyway?” You heard him ask, and you shrugged.
“I could ask you the same question.” You watched him out of the corner of your eye, and he sighed.
“Leigh was worried ‘bout the ‘issue’ you’d been having, with the break-ins. He wanted me to come out ‘ere and make sure everythin’ is good.” He laughed lightly, and you felt his eyes on you. “Now will you answer me?”
Finally, you pulled out the pack, holding it gently in your hands. Glancing up at Arthur, he seemed surprised. “Didn’t strike me as the type who smoked,” he commented.
“I rarely do.” You pulled out one of the cigarettes from the pack, placing it gently between your lips. Pulling out your lighter, it took a few too many tries before the spark caught, and you lit the end of it. Taking a long drag, you wordlessly offered Arthur one from the pack.
He accepted it, placing it between his own plush lips, and you shifted closer to light it. Except this time, no matter how many times you tried, the spark wouldn’t catch, and you could hear Arthur chuckle as you grew more and more frustrated. “Piece of shit,” you grumbled, “I keep forgettin’ to buy a new one.”
You tried it a few more times before giving up, shoving it angrily back into your robe. “Sorry,” you grumbled, guilty eying the unlit cigarette that hung from his mouth.
“Can I try somethin’?” Arthur asked, and it piqued your curiosity, so you nodded. “C’mere.” Arthur gestured for you to move closer to him, which you did. The man practically radiated heat, you noticed, and your cold body wanted nothing more than to wrap around him.
Your brain stopped functioning when you felt him gently grasp your chin with gloved fingers, keeping your head still, but not tight enough to keep you locked there. He leaned forward like he was going to kiss you, but he instead pressed the end of his cigarette against yours. “Inhale,” he instructed, and you watched the end of yours glow with red embers as you did, which ignited his.
He pulled away then, his touch lingering a little longer than necessary, and you were certain he could feel the way your heart hammered. “Resourceful,” you muttered, and Athur laughed, smoke spilling from his open mouth. You couldn’t tell if it was a trick of the light, but his cheeks were a shade darker than they were moments ago.
“Somethin’ like that. I think ‘desperate’ is the right word, though.” Arthur leaned back on one of his arms, the other moving the cigarette to and from his lips. “Haven’t had a good cigarette in a while.”
Without even thinking about it, you extended the pack of them for him to take, and you watched him switch his attention from the pack to you. “Take it,” you demanded, shaking it gently when he didn’t budge. “I got plenty of them.”
“I appreciate it, but-”
“Just take the damn thing!” You giggled, practically pressing it against his chest, yet he still made no move to grab it. With a quirk of your brow that said really?, you tucked the pack into one of the various pockets of the coat around your shoulders.
Arthur shook his head with a mix of defeat and amusement, and even in the low light you could see that smile that made you weak. “You’re stubborn.”
“First I’m strange, and now I’m stubborn. Got any other s words you wanna call me?”
“I can think of a few.” Arthur had begun to lean near you as you spoke, but you watched his eyes flick down to where a ring sat on your hand and he pulled away. “But none of which I should say to a married woman.”
Right. Holding back a sigh of disappointment, you felt the jacket begin to slip from your shoulders, and you swore you saw Arthur’s arm move to fix it before stopping himself. Securing it back around, you took a final drag from your cigarette before stomping it out with your shoe, then kicking the butt under the porch once it had cooled some.
“Are you busy the next couple of weeks?” You asked, not really knowing what you were saying.
“I’ve got some things. Why?”
“Oh, nevermind.” You immediately felt silly for even bringing it up.
“You sure?”
“Well…” you took a breath. “Hans is gonna be gone for the next week or two, and you especially know how easy it is to get in here,” you gestured to the house, and Arthur shook his head again. “I guess what I’m tryin’ to ask is if you’d swing by every couple of days? Just to make sure nothin’ has happened? I’ll sleep better knowing there's someone out there who keepin’ an eye on things. And I’ll pay,” you tagged on, and Arthur brought the cigarette back up to his lips, almost contemplative.
You totally weren’t trying to come up with a reason to see him more.
“Just every couple of days?”
You nodded. “You don’t even gotta talk to me or anythin’. I’ll leave the money somewhere secure and you can just grab it.”
“And if I wanna talk to you?” Arthur’s voice was surprisingly faint, like someone would if they didn’t have complete confidence in what they were saying.
Cherishing the knowledge that he didn’t dislike your presence, you couldn’t help the small smile as you responded. “Well, I’ll be around.”
Arthur hummed in response, and he took one final drag until he was stomping it out, kicking it under the porch like you did. The two of you sat in silence after that, simply taking in the serenity of the nighttime forest. Arthur titled his head back, eyes locked on to the forest, and the moonlight graced his features. Why did he look even more gorgeous at night? Pale white light highlighted the angles of his face, his high cheeks, the crook of his nose. You were able to make out a scar along the bridge of his nose, and another on his chin. You wondered if the rest of his body was marked that way.
You hadn’t realized you’d been staring at him until he turned his attention on you, and you couldn’t tell if he was amused or concerned. “You alright there?”
“Hm? Oh, yeah,” you quickly responded. “Just tired.” Whether Arthur believed you, you’d never know.
“Let’s get you inside, then,” Arthur replied, slowly standing up from the step. You almost wanted to grab his hand and pull him back down, not wanting this little moment to end. But that familiar feeling of guilt returned, and so you let the moment go, dissipating in the air like the smoke of your cigarettes.
Arthur helped you up, escorting you to your front door with a hand barely not touching your back. You slid the jacket off your body, giving it back to him with a soft thank you. After draping it around one of his arms, he held the door open for you. You were about to step in when you heard him murmur your name. “Have a good night, darlin’.”
“Because of you, it is.” You beamed at him, before ducking into the dimly-lit house. A few seconds later, you heard the door latch shut, and the sound of receding hoofbeats a few minutes after.
You gave yourself a moment to calm your racing heart, fanning your face to try and alleviate the heat in your cheeks. You were giddy and felt lighter than a feather. Like the last time, you felt like your real self had broken free, if not for a moment. That taste of freedom was delicious, and it was addicting.
But with that freedom came guilt, and you were screaming at yourself in your head, every nasty word under the sun aimed directly at you in your mind. Married or not, you shouldn’t be letting an almost stranger sit that close to you, let him drape his jacket over you, let him hold your face so gently.
You shouldn’t be reacting this way.
You shouldn’t be torturing yourself by getting close to him.
You shouldn’t be getting close to him.
There were so many things you shouldn’t be doing, but you knew you couldn’t stop now. You needed more.
Sighing, you slowly began to make your way upstairs, the stairs creaking with each step. You headed into the washroom that wasn’t attached to your bedroom, this one located across the hall a ways down from where Hans was currently asleep. Washing the remnants of smoke from your body, you dared to glance at yourself in the mirror.
Sure, nothing has changed too drastically since you got married, your face still practically the same. But a deep weariness had made itself at home in your eyes. Your eyes, once filled with wonder and joy at the world, had turned dull, much like Hans’. They seemed to have sunken in more, like the life from your body was being sucked from your body.
Anger boiled your blood, tears threatening to flow as you stared at the husk of yourself in the mirror. You were angry at your family for marrying you off. You were angry at Hans for agreeing to marry you. You were angry at the world for thinking it was okay.
And you were angry at Arthur for breaking into your house and setting off this chain of events in your mind.
Taking a deep breath, you composed yourself. This marriage needed to happen, you told yourself, and it provided some small comfort, but it didn’t ease the sense of betrayal. And you shouldn’t be mad at Arthur, because it wasn’t his fault. You just wanted someone to blame for your treachery. Wiping down your hands, you were sure to avoid looking at yourself in the mirror again as you left.
Before you knew it, you were back in the bedroom, the familiar sight of Hans’ form beneath the covers causing a lump to form in your throat. Quickly slipping off the robe, you replaced it with a nightgown before joining him under the covers.
The comforting smell of Arthur still clung to your skin, lulling you to sleep, your dreams interrupted with visions of him. It was the best sleep you’d gotten in a long time.
─•~❉᯽❉~•─
The sunlight woke you up, beams interrupting your slumber instead of the voice of your husband.
Sitting up, you placed your hand on the other side of your bed, and you felt it was cold. A smile grew across your face, an almost child-like giddiness bubbling inside of you. He was gone.
You quickly got out of bed, immediately heading to the closet to get dressed, not wanting to waste any of the precious time you had alone. You had no idea what you were going to do, but you were going to savor every moment. You had glanced at the clock on the way over, and you were surprised to see that you’d slept in until ten.
You decided on a thin, flowy skirt and a light blouse, something that would let you move with ease. As you got dressed, a familiar piece of paper caught your eye, tucked in the drawer containing your socks hastily. You picked up the little thank you note that Arthur had given to you, looking over it fondly. It was such a small gesture, but it meant everything to you.
Tucking it back, you left your closet, heading down the stairs. Even the house seemed happier, sunlight streaming into the windows, and you opened some of them, letting wind clear away the stagnant air. You made yourself a quick breakfast, an assortment of fruits and some bread, cleaning the dishes once you were done.
You now sat at the dining table, contemplating what you were going to do. Your options were quite limited, as the only way to travel from the house was the carriage, but that was gone. Hans didn’t keep horses, finding the creatures disgusting, leaving you stranded at the house.
That wasn’t to say you didn't have a way of getting to places. If you really needed to, the main road wasn’t far, about a five minute walk on foot. If you waited long enough, someone would come by with a carriage, and you could ask to hop on. More often than not, they would accept, and you were always sure to hand them a couple of bills for their troubles. It was dangerous, and probably quite stupid, but you enjoyed the thrill of it all.
But you weren’t in the mood to travel in the city, especially this early, where everyone would be able to clearly see who you were. You slumped back in the chair. Now that the novelty of being alone had worn off, the persistent loneliness was no longer covered up, making you slump even further into your chair.
It was then you finally remembered your little project you’d been working on for some time: your garden. You quickly left the house, a newfound energy in your step as you traveled along the makeshift path you’d made with your steps.Your skirts caught on various plants and sticks, but it didn’t deter you, and you made it to your garden in no time.
It wasn’t much of a garden, to be completely honest with yourself. Fallen trees stacked up against one side, blocking it from view from the house. You hadn't tended to it for some time, and it showed. All six of your planters were handmade, made from various sticks and planks you’d found scattered about, and you noticed that they were all spilling out their precious dirt, the wood long since rotted. Also, weeds and vines and overgrowth covered over the delicate plants you’d raised, and you made a sad noise. You hoped they weren’t all dead.
Digging through the thick growth, your fears were confirmed when instead of bright green, you were met with wilted brown. They weren’t anything special, just a few herbs and small vegetables that you’d grown from the remnants of produce you’d used for supper. Still, it was something you’d poured yourself into, and you couldn’t help the way your shoulders sagged, energy wilted just like the plants.
You were about to move the weeds back over, when from the pile of dead plants, a sliver of fresh green caught your eye. Investigating further, you found a cluster of small growth of thyme and mint, baby sprouts, but still able to become something greater. A victorious laugh left you, and you eagerly began tearing away the invasive greenery, your energy returned.
It took a while, but eventually you’d uncovered everything, the dead plants pulled out, leaving the few remaining live ones in the unstable dirt. Before you could move them, though. you’d have to make new planters. The rest of the day you spent gathering various sticks, planks, and pieces of bark, creating a substantial pile in the garden.
By the time night came around, you were exhausted, covered in dirt and sweat, but surprisingly content. You bathed and, no matter how much you wanted to stay up and wait to see if Arthur would stop by, you went to bed. You said every couple of days, not every night, for God’s sake.
The next day was spent working on the planters, taking many breaks inside. It took too many tires for you to make one that would stay together, but by the end of the night you’d made one.
The third day arrived, and you worked again on the planters. It was the end of the third night when you heard hoofbeats come down your road, and you felt your heart beat excitedly. You were still close to the house, so you were able to hear Arthur call out your name. “Over here!” You responded, but you doubted he could see you because your back was pressed against the stack of fallen logs, blocking you from view from the house. “In the woods!”
It took a few moments, but you eventually heard branches crack and leaves rustle, as well as the light noise of his spurs. “Hello, Arthur,” you turned your head back to greet the man as he approached your side. “I’ll get your payment in a moment, just let me finish this.”
You turned back to the planter in your lap, and you saw out of the corner of your eye as Arthur crouched down next to you, watching what you were doing with an unreadable expression. “What’s all this?” He asked as you tied a knot of the rope, testing the stability of the planter with a tug. When it held, you smiled proudly. Another one done.
“This,” you gestured around you, “is my garden. And this,” you pointed to the now finished planter, “is one of the last planters I need to make before I replace all the old ones.”
“Odd place for a garden,” Arthur noted, standing up again. Again, he helped you up, and you smiled gratefully at him. He wasn’t wearing gloves this time, and you were able to feel the rough skin on yours.
“I know,” you replied, wiping dirt from your hands on your skirt. “But it ain’t like I got any other place for it.”
“Whaddya mean? You’ve got a whole empty lawn,” he said with disbelief, and you shook your head.
“I guess I mean I can’t. I ain’t even supposed to have this.”
“You… can’t?”
“It ain’t ‘ladylike or proper’ to keep a garden, apparently,” you scoffed, and began to make your way back to the house. “C’mon, let’s get you your money.”
A part of you hoped that he wouldn’t just take the money and leave as you walked back toward the house, but you wouldn’t blame him if he did. The two of you idly chatted, you leading the way back, Arthur not far behind.
Looking back as you talked, you were able to appreciate him visually as you kept eye contact. He had the same red button up on  from earlier in the week, sleeves rolled up at the elbow, and the top two buttons undone. He had forgone the bandana around his neck entirely today, and you were thankful for it. He kept his hands on his gunbelt as he walked, the act far more enticing than it should be. You had to move your eyes before you could begin to stare.
Reaching the house, Arthur held the door open for you, hesitantly following in after you. It was strange, seeing Arthur in your house properly. He looked very out of place, the antiquated decorations of high society a harsh contrast of the rugged outdoorsman.
“I’m gonna go grab the money, so make yourself at home. And,” you pointed to his boots, “take those off. You tracked mud in my kitchen last time.”
He held his hands up defensively. “My apologies,” he chuckled, but he complied, setting his boots next to your shoes. It was almost familiar, seeing your shoes next to his, and a pang of longing for a life you’d never had or will have tore through your chest.
Heading upstairs, you pushed those feelings away as you entered your bedroom. Reaching under the bed, you grabbed the lockbox you kept stashed, hidden between the mattress and the frame, setting it on your bed. Opening it, you grabbed a few bills from it, totalling to about five dollars. You pulled from your own personal money, not wanting Hans to question why he was suddenly down a bit of money when he returned. Tucking it back under, you hurriedly made your way back downstairs to Arthur.
He hadn’t sat down yet. Instead, you watched as he traveled around the living room, examining the various photographs that decorated the shelves and the mantle of the fireplace. He was frowning as he looked over your and Hans’ wedding photo, but he broke his gaze from them as you stood next to him. “Here,” you handed him the money. “Thank you.”
“Of course,” he murmured, taking the bills gently, putting them away in one of his pockets.
The two of you stood in silence after that. You weren’t quite sure what to say. A part of you wanted to invite him to stay for a drink, but that was risky, pushing to something less than proper. He took the framed wedding photo into his hands, and the both of you observed it.
You looked like a spooked deer in the photo, your eyes wide and staring into the camera. Hans had his arm linked in yours, and it was the only time you’d seen him smile, even though it was forced. The dress you were wearing was a poofy mess of fabric and ribbon, and you remembered how much it itched your skin.
“The dress is ugly, I know,” you joke, getting a chuckle from the man. “I’d never choose to wear somethin’ like that.”
“It seems like you don’t got a choice in a lot of things,” you heard him mutter, more to himself than anything. You couldn’t bring yourself to disagree with him; it was obvious you’d be lying.
Arthur set the frame back on the fireplace mantle, and when his hand returned to his side, you felt it brush against yours, but a little too hard to be accidental. It was a simple yet comforting touch, and for a moment that loneliness tormenting you eased.
But just as it came, it left, Arthur taking a few steps away from you. Turning your head to watch him, you felt disappointment overwhelm you. “I-” he cleared his throat. “I have to go.”
“Okay,” you whispered as he got his boots back on.
His mouth opened and shut as he struggled to formulate words, and he ended up just sighing. “I’ll see you later, darlin’.”
Nodding, you turned your attention back to the photo, not wanting him to see the sadness in your eyes. You heard the door latch shut, and like your shoes by the door, you were now alone.
You stayed inside for the rest of the night.
─•~❉᯽❉~•─
The next day arrived, and with it came rain. Lots of it.
It pounded against the roof of your house, and you found the sound of it comforting, distracting you from your miserable thoughts. Because of that, you spent most of the day in the attic cleaning, where you could feel the rain if you pressed your hand against the roof.
The following day was a clear one, not a single cloud in the sky. You finished up the planters, arranging them how you liked. You rewarded yourself with a long soak in the bath, spending nearly an hour in the tub.
For both of those days, your mind kept wandering to Arthur, but not on the reason you thought it would. You kept going back to his comment about how you didn’t have a choice in a lot of things. In the back of your mind, you always knew that, but to hear it out loud, it had been staggering.
You didn’t let yourself think about it for too long, however. The sacrifice of your own choice in life was a necessary one, you told yourself, and itIt was selfish of you to want otherwise. Your family would be out on the street if it wasn’t for you, and besides, you should be grateful for the life Hans has provided for you.
So why was it so hard to convince yourself to believe your thoughts?
You dreamed that night, for the first time in a while. It wasn’t anything crazy, but it still had you gasping when you woke. It was a domestic scene, and you were in the kitchen making breakfast. A sleep-laden Arthur came into the scene, brown hair tousled and in his face. He wrapped his arms around your body, bare chest pressing into your back, and he burrowed his face into the crook of your neck. It felt so real, and you swore you could feel the scratch of his beard on your neck when you woke.
Getting out of bed the next day had been a struggle. You angrily grumbled at the birds as they taunted you with their lighthearted music, and you debated rolling over a smashing a pillow over your head and going back to sleep.
Eventually, you managed to leave the bed, getting dressed and eating breakfast like you’d done in all the previous days. The monotony was getting boring, but there wasn’t anything you could do about that.
Today you worked on filling the planters with dirt, and it took a surprising amount of time to find some that wasn’t too rocky or too muddy, and of course it had to be a significant walk from the planters. All you had to transport the dirt was a small shovel that you stored in a hollow trunk nearby, and you spent the day carrying each precious shovelful across the forest
By the time early evening rolled around, you were exhausted, your hands cramping and shoulders aching from the shovel, but you now had six planters filled with dirt, and the baby sprouts placed in each one. The dirt was still damp enough from the rainfall earlier, so you didn’t have to worry about watering today.
Leaning your back against the fallen trunks, you closed your eyes, savoring the feeling of the warm sun rays against your skin. The birds sounded less taunting than they did in the morning, and you let yourself get lost in their songs.
So lost, in fact, that you failed to notice when they stopped, spooked by the sound of a voice and footfalls. You jumped when your name was said rather loudly beside you, your eyes snapping open and staring at the creator of the sound.
A concerned Arthur stood above you, hand extended like he was about to shake your shoulder. “Oh, hello Arthur,” you grinned up at him.
“You scared me there,” he half-laughed, pulling you to your feet. “I’ve been callin’ your name for a while now.”
“Well, as you can see,” you brushed your hands on your skirt, “I’m still very much alive.” You were afraid that the tense ending of your last interaction would’ve carried over to today, but you’re glad it didn’t. “So, whaddya think?” You gestured to your garden.
“It’s… cute.”
“Cute?” You scoffed. “You mean to tell me I’ve been working all day for the last week just for it to be cute? You insult me, Arthur.”
Arthur laughed, and that damn smile adorned his lips. Looking away, you felt your cheeks warm.
“I left the money at the house again. C’mon.”
The walk back to the house was short, like always, and Arthur asked you about the plants you were growing. You explained to him the way you’d found them earlier in the week, recalling the small little sprouts you’d found.
“Plants are incredible in that way. No matter what the world throws at them, no matter what conditions they’re met with, they always seem to just… come back. Their resilience is incredible!” Looking back at Arthur, he was watching you with an indiscernible expression. “Sorry, didn’t mean to get all poetic there.”
“Don’t apologize,” Arthur shook his head. “I like that, though. Reminds me of someone I know.”
“Oh? Who?” You were genuinely curious, wanting to know more about Arthur and the people he associated with.
“There’s this amazin’ woman, who, no matter what anyone tells her or what society deems is right, does what she wants, does what makes her happy. And when she gets dragged down, I’ve seen her bounce right back up, ready to take on the world.”
“Maybe you’re the poetic one,” you teased. “She sounds like someone I want to meet.”
You missed the look that Arthur gave you, like he couldn’t believe you weren’t catching on. “I’m sure she’d love to meet you.”
Eventually the two of you came into the house, and Arthur lingered in the doorway. “I’ll be right back, then you’ll be good to go.” You turned to head up the stairs, but you halted. “Unless…” Don’t you dare. “Unless you want to stay for dinner?”
When he didn’t respond, you panicked a little. “You don’t have to, I just figured cause it’s almost dinnertime, you’d like somethin’ to eat.” Silence. “You know what, forget I said anythin’,” you looked away, embarrassed, and resumed entering the house.
“You’re spoilin’ me, darlin’,” Arthur laughed breathlessly with a smile.
“Is that a yes?”
He nodded, and a relieved but genuine smile fell on your lips. “You know where the living room is,” you laughed, toeing off your shoes. Arthur did the same, setting his boot next to yours again, and he made his way to the living room as you went upstairs.
The process of grabbing the money was no different this time, and you were about to head back downstairs when you caught a glimpse of yourself in one of the mirrors in the bedroom.
Dirt streaked across your face from where you had wiped away sweat, and your clothes were in no better shape. Embarrassment once again overcame you, the ideals that had been ingrained into your brain for years making you feel so. No woman of your standing should be playing in the dirt, then inviting people into her home while covered in it.
You quickly changed clothes, then headed into the en suite bathroom to wash down your face and body, even go so far as to fix up your hair, pulling out any debris that got caught in it. Satisfied, you headed back downstairs to Arthur, who sat on one of the various couches. He had taken his hat off, setting it next to him, and you watched him run his hands through it.
“It wasn’t very nice of you to not tell me I was covered in dirt,” was what you said as you approached him, holding out the bills for him. “Sorry that it took so long.”
Arthur just chuckled, standing up in front of you, leaving his hat behind. He took the bills from you with a thankful nod of his head, tucking them into his pocket. “You missed a spot,” he said as he tucked the money away.
“Really?” You began to wipe at your face, frowning when Arthur began to laugh. “Where?”
“Here,” he muttered, and you felt two hands gently wrap around your wrists, tugging them away from your face. Releasing one, he used the pad of his thumb to wipe at your cheek, the rest of his hand resting on your jaw. His cerulean eyes flicked across your face, like he was trying to memorize the details of it, the curve of your cheek, the slope of your nose, the shape of your lips. “There,” he whispered, running the thumb across again for good measure before dropping his hand.
Arthur stared at you for a moment, like even he couldn’t quite believe what he’d done. All thoughts went out the window, your mind and legs jelly. He took a step back, giving an appropriate amount of room between the two of you. Don’t leave, you were pleading in your head. “I-I’ll get started on dinner,” you stammer out. “If you’d like to get washed up, the bathroom’s upstairs, first door on the left.”
He nodded, taking a few more steps back. “I’ll be right back, then.” And with that, he turned up the stairs, leaving you stunned, alone, in the living room. You ran your fingers over where his hand had just been, and you laughed with shock and delight. You expected to feel guilt, and you did, but it was heavily muffled by the sheer joy radiating in your chest.
The sound of water rushing through the pipes of the house broke you out of your daze, your hand returning to your side. Right. Dinner.
Despite the tiredness you felt from hauling dirt everywhere the entire day, you felt energized as you entered the kitchen. You weren’t going to make anything elaborate, mainly because you were starting to run low on supplies. You’d have to run to Rhodes sometime during the next week, using your own money, of course.
Dinner was going to be two small steaks, with diced potatoes and grilled green beans. The smell of the food quickly permeated the kitchen, making your stomach grumble hungrily. Arthur emerged from the bathroom when dinner was over halfway done, startling you because you had your back to him, and because your mind was constantly distracted with thoughts of him.
“That smells amazin’,” he commented, causing you to nearly drop the utensil you were using to flip the food. Turning, he held up his hands apologetically.
“I should’ve had you keep your boots on. Your spurs are loud,” you grumbled lightheartedly. “How are you so quiet?” You kept having to turn your head to talk to him, so he walked up next to you at the stove.
“Years of practice,” Arthur responded, which didn’t clear anything up.
“Practice for what?”
Arthur hesitated to speak, and you rolled your eyes. “Arthur, I caught you breakin’ into my house. If you’re a thief, just say it.”
“I ain’t a thief.” He replied defensively.
“Sure, whatever you say. I just sure as hell know you ain’t a deputy.”
Arthur laughed. “Ain’t that the truth.”
“So why are you pretendin’ to be one?”
The man beside you sighed. “It’s a long story… and one I ain’t so sure I can tell yet.”
Silence fell over the two of you, the only sound the sizzling of food as it cooked. It was you who spoke first. “So who are you then, Arthur Morgan?”
Arthur didn’t respond at first, and you watched his struggle to come up with an answer. “I ain’t quite sure,” he finally said, uncertainty lacing his voice.
“You’re… not sure?”
He shrugged. “I’m a lot of things, I suppose. I guess I can’t just put it into one word."
“Alright, how ‘bout this then. Whenever you’re not here, what’re you doin’?”
“I… I’m workin’. Odd jobs and stuff like that.”
“Do those odd jobs include thievin’?”
Exasperated, Arthur  made a noise between a scoff and a chuckle. “I suppose it does. Houses, banks, trains. Whatever gets me money, I guess.”
Grinning at your small victory at his admission, you poked him lightly in the chest. “So you’re an outlaw then.”
“And if I am?”
It was your turn to shrug. “Doesn’t change anythin’, really.”
Arthur noticeably relaxed at your answer. “Good.”
“I’m assumin’ Dutch and Bill are outlaws too, then.”
“Jesus, woman, is this an interrogation?” You heard Arthur mutter, and you laughed.
“Sorry, sorry, just curious.” Your gaze went back to the food, and you noticed that everything was almost done cooking. “Was I right though?”
“I… Yes.”
You hummed in response. Bill you were expecting, but the other man you weren’t. He looked like he belonged in high society with you, not living a life from the reaches of the law. Maybe appearances aren't always to be believed, then. “Thank you.”
Arthur raised a brow. “For?”
“Answering my questions. And not just brushing them off. Thank you.”
“Yeah,” Arthur responded, not expecting thanks for such a simple thing. “You need any help with this?” He gestured to the food on the stove. “I ain’t much of a cook, but if you need help…”
Never once in your marriage had Hans offered to help you as you cooked, even when you had to make large amounts for dinner parties or guests. A warm smile found its way on your face, and you shook your head. “I think I got it. It’s almost done, anyway. You wanna grab some plates for me?” You pointed to a nearby cupboard.
“‘Course.” Arthur stepped away from you, fulfilling your request, and your eyes followed him as he moved across the kitchen. Just like the shoes by the door, something about this just felt right, even though everything in your brain was screaming that this was wrong. This domesticity, this familiarity, everything was wrong.
But damn if it didn’t feel good, like something you didn't know was missing inside of you had been returned.
Arthur returned a few moments later with two plates in his hand, setting them on the counter beside you. You spoke as you began to lead the food onto it. “Go ahead and take a seat. I’ll bring the plates out shortly. Utensils are in the drawer there” You ended with a point.
“You sure?”
You nodded. “Want anythin’ to drink?”
“Whatever you’re havin’.” Arthur’s voice was distant as he moved away toward the dining room.
Wine, then. The plates were hot in your hands as you brought them out. Arthur sat at one end of the table, where Hans would sit, and you set it down in front of him. You faltered for a second as you debated where to set yours. Normally, you’d sit on the other end of the table, with four chairs of space between you and Hans, but you figured it would be rude to do that right now. Besides, the selfish part of you wanted to be as close to Arthur as you could.
Leaving a chair’s space, you set your plate down before returning to the kitchen, grabbing a bottle of wine, which you opened, and two glasses. Arthur stood when you returned, pulling your chair out, pushing you in when you sat. “You sure you’re an outlaw?” You joked, pouring out two glasses of the red liquid.
“I’m certain.” He took the glass of wine from you once you offered it. “Thank you, darlin’.”
“Of course.” Picking up the utensils that Arthur had grabbed for the both of you, you both dug in. You kept an eye on Arthur as he took the first bite, feeling self conscious of your cooking. He stilled, mid-chew, and you immediately thought the worst.
“Holy shit,” he muttered under his breath. You took a bite, and you thought it didn’t taste bad, but you were partial to your own cooking. “That’s really good.”
Oh. “I’m glad.” You tried to not sound overly relieved.
Arthur took another bite, groaning appreciatively. You really did try not to memorize the sound of it. “This is the best thing I’ve tasted in a while.”
“Do I even want to know what you possibly could’ve been eating that makes this taste incredible.”
“Probably not,” Arthur admitted.
The rest of dinner was filled with idle chat, until Arthur asked a question that had you stopping mid-bite, fork handing in the air. “This ain’t poisoned, right?” He asked it as a joke, but there was a hint of genuine worry in his eyes.
“I sure hope not,” you responded, finishing the bite. Arthur didn’t elaborate further, only responding with a small noise. “Well, you can’t just ask that and then not explain. Is… is that something that’s happened before?”
“Unfortunately, yes,” Arthur chuckled humorlessly. “There’s a pig farm north of here I stopped by two weeks ago. Friendly couple invited me in, we shared a drink, and before I knew it I was wakin’ up in a muddy pit with my money gone.”
You had stared at him, shocked, as he recounted his story. “You’re kiddin’?”
“I wish I was. Wasn’t the first person they’d done it to, either. You wanna know the worst thing?” Arthur asked, leaning into you. You nodded, leaning in as well. “The couple? They were brother and sister, and their mother was their first victim.”
You were horrified and intrigued all at the same time. “Brother and sister? Oh my God,” you shuddered. “Did you get your money back?” Arthur nodded. “There are some weird folks out there.”
“You meet plenty of ‘em when you’re on the road. I don’t think there’s enough time in the world to tell you ‘bout them.”
At the mention of time, you glanced out one of the nearby windows, finding it nearly pitch black outside. Arthur glanced outside as well, an apologetic look on his face when his eyes went back on you. “You have to go, don’t you?”
“I’m ‘fraid so,” Arthur sighed. You were happy to see that his plate had been entirely cleared, and he finished off the last of the wine in his glass. Standing, you cleared the table, bringing the items over and setting them in the sink. Arthur followed in behind you, carrying the half-full bottle of wine.
“Thank you, again,” you heard Arthur say, and you waved him off.
“You don’t gotta keep thankin’ me, Arthur. It was truly my pleasure.”
“Do you need help cleain’-”
“Arthur! Go!” You laughed, shooing him away. “I got this.”
Conceding, he headed to the doorway, putting his shoes on. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw his hat on the couch, about to be left behind. Quickly grabbing it, you set it on his head as he was leaning forward, securing his shoes. He let out a confused noise, but he smiled when he realized what you’d done. Standing up back at full height, he secured it on, flashing you a smile. “How’d I look?” He jested, a playful glint in his eye.
Like the most beautiful thing I’ve ever laid eyes on. “Like an outlaw,” you responded. “You just need a cigar or somethin’ and you’d really look like one.”
“That reminds me…” Arthur dug into a sachet strapped across his body. Once he found what he was looking for he presented it to you. It was a small silver lighter, which looked hilariously small in his hands. “Since your last one was a ‘piece of shit’, I figured you’d want a new one.”
“For me?” You asked and Arthur responded with a look that read uh, yeah?
“It ain’t much, I know-”
“Thank you!” You cut him off, beaming brightly at him. “It means a lot that you remembered.”
“Alright, well…” you watched as he rubbed the back of neck, not knowing how to respond to the praise, “have a good night, darlin’.”
“Stay safe, Arthur.”
With a final nod, Arthur left. You couldn’t decide if you wanted to laugh or cry, so you did neither, simply heading upstairs to your bedroom. Dishes could be done in the morning, you decided.
Your mind raced as you got ready for the night. You knew he didn’t mean anything besides being nice with getting you the lighter, but it left your heart happy that someone not only listened to your grievances, small or large, and did something to fix them.
Slipping under the sheets, you fiddled with it in your hands. You struck it, the spark catching almost immediately, creating a steady flame. Setting in on the nightstand beside you, you held on to the happiness you’d felt the entire night, and you fell asleep with a smile on your face.
You pretended to not feel a new sensation growing in your heart, something you wouldn’t dare name.

"What's that noise?" Wild asked.
"Oh...I think...a portal?" Four stood up and listened.
Legend also listened for the noise and soon found it, repeating in his ear. An eerie, ominous noise. "Let's go then." Time demanded and everyone began packing the camp up.
Once everything was ready to go, the cook led them towards a swirly black and purple triangle. The veteran hero remembered going through the portal the first time and ending up in the clearing where all the Links had met. Warriors smirked as Legend inched closer to the portal. "Well, going first again, vet?"
"Who do you take me for?" Legend rolled his eyes and stepped through the portal, chuckles slowly distorting and fading until disappearing completely.
The vet looked around to see he was in his era, and a smile crept across his face. He might get to see Zelda again. "Hey, we're in my era." Legend called and turned around only to see no portal there, and no sign of anyone but himself.
The blood drained from his face.
"H-Hello?" He yelled and then ran around, looking through bushes and behind trees, everywhere he could.
No one.
Legend took a deep breath and waited. He could wait for the portal to appear again, or for his brothers to find him. If...If nothing happened he could go to the castle, or his house, look for the chain. Maybe the portal took them somewhere else? Silence filled the air as the skies became cloudy. Legend waited but no one arrived so he started on his way to his house. Ravio would be there, awaiting him. Eventually, he spotted his house on the orchard and sprinted towards the door, hand gripping the doorknob and pushing the door open. "Rav? I'm home!" He called.
Nothing.
"This isn't funny!" Legend huffed and began searching the house.
Instead of two beds, he found one. Instead of finding Ravio's stuff and numerous hoods he found a green tunic and some of his own stuff. Legend searched everywhere but it was like Ravio had never even existed in the first place. "Maybe he went to go sleepover somewhere." Legend said to himself and walked out of the empty house.
"I'll kill that idiot for leaving my house unattended." Legend muttered, no real anger in his tone.
He travelled to the castle. The villages bustled with villagers who didn't seem to notice the hero walking around. Legend tried walking past a knight who did nothing but blink at him and then look over at someone else. Huh. Weird.
The veteran made it to the castle and tried to walk in, but the guards didn't let him. "State your business." They ordered.
"I want to see Zelda." Legend demanded, irritated.
The guards looked at him with confusion. "Zelda? I ain't heard of a Zelda."
"Stop playing with me, this is serious. I'll let the princess know how you're acting. She won't be happy." Legend snapped, irritation flickering through his eyes.
"Hm?"
Legend looked to see a girl he didn't recognize with a crown and a white dress. "This boy has been requesting to see you." The guards bowed.
The girl's eyes flickered with suspicion. "Who are you and why are you here?" She asked the vet.
"I--I don't...I'm Link! The Hero of Legend? I saved Hyrule from Ganon...I want to see princess Zelda!" He insisted, voice cracking at the end.
"Who's Zelda?" She asked.
"The princess of Hyrule?!" Legend tried.
"I'm the princess of Hyrule." The girl replied, eyeing the vet with concern.
This wasn't a new Hyrule. Legend recognized everything, even some of the villagers were familiar faces. So why...? "I-This doesn't make any sense!" Legend cried out.
"Have you hit your head? Is there some spell affecting you?" The girl questioned.
She thought he was insane. "No...No..I...Sorry, I'll be out of your hair now." Legend ran out of the castle and ran until he bumped into someone.
It looked like Impa. "Oh, Impa, thank the goddesses." He breathed.
The lady paid him no mind. "Impa!" He hissed.
No one answered him. The lady brushed past him and walked to a stall. Legend ran back to her. "Excuse me?"
The lady finally turned around. "Yes?"
"Are you...Impa by chance?" He asked.
"Uh, no, sorry." The lady shook her head and went back to buying whatever she was buying.
Legend saw Gulley, standing around. "Gulley!" He called.
Gulley turned around. "Who are you?" He asked, face twisted in confusion.
"Link...." Legend tried.
"Doesn't ring a bell." Gulley shrugged and started walking away.
Tears pricked at his eyes as he broke into a sprint into the forest. He made it to his house. He opened the door and practically sunk in a chair. He pulled out a journal and began sketching everybody he remembered. Zelda...Ravio...Ralph...
He moved onto the chain and tried to do the old man first but he couldn't...he couldn't remember what his face looked like. All he could remember of the face was that the old man only had one eye. Legend tried to sketch the smith, but....what....what did he look like again?
He knew the smith was short for his age....but how old was he? After a few failed attempts at sketching the smith he moved on to the traveller. But...he couldn't do it.
Link fell apart and started sobbing, paper and pencil falling to the ground.
They all weren't real. Link was dreaming the entire time. Link screamed and started throwing things across the room, pots smashing against walls and items cracking and shattering on the ground. Link sobbed and sobbed. He couldn't take another dream. He thought Marin had been real, then she was a dream. He thought the chain was real. He believed his friends were real. But they weren't.
Link remained like that for a couple of hours before there were no tears left. He sat against the wall, taking a few deep breaths. Then...he felt...hollow. His thoughts swirled until they became gibberish. All he recognized was that he was
A L O N E
___________
Ravio was delighted to hear a knock on the door. He opened it wide to see Link's friends there, panicked expressions on their faces. Ravio's smile fell. "Everything alright?"
"We went through a portal. We were separated from Le-er Link. Is he here?" Mr. Captain Hero Sir asked.
Ravio shook his head. Link's friends exchanged worried glances. "I-I'm sure everything's okay! He probably is just making his way here, or he's with Zelda." Ravio insisted.
"Or he got lost in another era." Captain Hero Sir Jr. mused.
"Could that even happen?!" Tune gasped, eyes wide.
"It's a possibility but very unlikely." Mr. Captain Hero Sir sighed.
Ravio takes a deep breath. "Well, I'm going to check in with Zelda and if Link's not there...I'll have to contact everyone."
"We'll come with." Captain Hero Sir Jr. rumbled.
Ravio nodded and set out with the heroes. After a long while they all arrived at the castle. Zelda informed them that she hadn't seen Link in forever. She had only gotten letters. Ravio asked her to contact people and Mr. Ralph Sir had promised to check in with Labyrnnia and Holodrum to see if Link had gotten there. After a few days of searching, no one could find Link. Mr. Champion Hero Sir tried to use the slate thingy of his but it was no use. Mr. Chosen Hero tried using the Master Sword but it didn't work.
"Where could he be?!" Mr. Traveller Hero cried out.
"A different era." Captain Hero Sir Jr. sighed, face stoic.
"We need to find a portal then." Mr Captain Hero Sir demanded.
"By--"
"No. I'm coming with." Ravio huffed and stuffed a few of his weapons in a bag.
The heroes nodded, surprised and Ravio set out with them once more.
"Mr. Hero? Link?" Ravio whispered.
Link looked up at him. His eyes shone no light, his eyes red and the house he was sitting him an absolute disaster. Pots had been smashed, glass was sitting on the ground next to him. "Mr. Hero...what happened?" He asked.
"Not...real." Link mumbled.
"What?"
"You're not real." Link hissed and grabbed a jar from a table and threw it across the room, the glass flying on the floor.
"Mr. Hero, don't do that! I'm real, I promise." Ravio panicked and wrapped his arms around Link.
"You can't be..." Link growled and shoved the merchant off of him.
"Link. You disappeared on your companions, and myself, because you were whisked away somewhere else by the portal. None of us know where we are, but this is not the Hyrule we live in." Ravio explained.
"Not real!" Link grabbed another jar and threw it at Ravio, barely missing.
"It is!" Ravio promised, weakly.
Oh Lolia, how does he convince Link he's real? "Ravio? Ra-Woah what happened?" Mr. Chosen Hero gasped.
"He doesn't think I'm real." Ravio informed him, softly.
Link curled up on himself, shoulders shaking. Ravio hesitated but hugged Mr. Hero again. "I'm real. I promise. I'm staying right here with you Mr. Hero. We're both real."
Mr. Chosen Hero wrapped his white cape around Link, a sadness in his eyes. "What's happening right now, is we're in some sort of twisted version of your era. Warriors is finding out as much as he can, but we know that this is not your Hyrule."
Link looked up, tears streaming down his cheeks and he nodded. He didn't looked convinced but he still listened. Ravio would have to find a way to help him later. For now they needed to get back to Hyrule.

——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
It was a crisp late November evening. Campus was alive again after students had traveled home for the holidays. Now, it was crunch time on final assignments, final exams, and trying to keep sane at the end of the term.
You were patiently waiting for your study partner to arrive. You had gotten an iced Americano, gearing up to deep dive into your psychology assignment. It was a final project analyzing fear - how it affects people, what exactly it is, and how it could be conquered. Your pink backpack was resting on the chair across from you. A signal to everyone that you were expecting someone, and that the chair was taken. Campus always got overcrowded when people realized they needed to get their shit together.
You tapped on your phone screen to look at the time. 2:33pm. Where was he?
You glanced at the door to find any signal of your partner. Somehow, you guys have worked together at least on one project every term since sophomore year. While he wasn't always the most motivated academically, working with him was a joy on your end. But that might be because of the view of the guy - Kim Mingyu.
Mingyu was the guy that all the girls desired. It helped that he was well-known on campus as his fraternity always threw the best parties. He was someone who was also willing to help out those around you. For instance, he always made sure all the girls at his parties got home safely by either having a pledge walk them or ordering an Uber for them personally. He also cleaned up any mess he spotted or even just offered a gentle smile to someone who crossed his path. They see an attractive guy and then get to know the guy with a heart of gold who wants the best for himself and his friends. They got to know my friend.
Now, I wouldn't say Mingyu and I were best friends. We did have our own separate social circles with very drastically different ideas of a fun Friday night. However, he was someone I could trust. Not just when it comes to making sure an assignment gets done, but he is someone I can turn to when I need a place to vent. He was a safe space from judgment or ridicule.
The doorbell rang, indicating someone was making their presence known in the coffee shop. You peeked up to see Mingyu. His eyes were scanning the cafe, looking for you. He was wearing a grey hoodie, black sweatpants, and a navy blue beanie on his head. It wasn't too cold in November when you didn't want to be outside, but it was cold enough that you could feel the air nipping at any exposed skin. One strap of his black backpack hung over his shoulder. He looked like a model for Abercrombie & Fitch.
His eyes soon found yours and you watch his smile grow. Did I mention that this man has the personality of a golden retriever?
Eyes from other patrons followed as he maneuvered through the sea of tables and chairs. His eyes never leaving yours though. He was determined to get to you one way or another.
"Y/n!" "Mingyu! How was Thanksgiving dinner with Hansol and Joshua?"
He plopped himself in the seat across from you. He let out a puff of air, probably now feeling the contrast of the heat from inside the cafe compared to the crisp air outside. His backpack made a soft thud, landing assumedly by his feet. His right hand reached up to take down the beanie, shoving it into the front pouch of his hoodie.
"It was actually pretty good. Wonwoo made sure Hansol stayed out of the kitchen, so Joshua and I could cook." He let out an infectious laughter that made me weak in the knees. Fuck, I'm down bad for him. "Wish you could have made it though!"
And try not to drool over you in front of all your friends? Pretend I don't have feelings for you? Yeah, no thanks.
"I'm sorry! My folks said I needed to come home, trying to savor every family get-together before applying for jobs and being big scary adults." "Yeah, I get what you mean. The guys have become like family to me. Who really knows where all 13 of us are going to end up once we all graduate." "No plans to keep the fraternity life going after graduation?" I teased. He laughed at my joke, quickly shaking his head. "No, I plan to step back completely after I graduate. Think it would be too sad if I was one of the graduated guys who just stuck around the fraternity house. Or the one that has to keep drinking and constantly talking about 'the good old days.' No, I think I'm ready to be taken a bit more seriously." I couldn't help but smile wider at the thought of the man Mingyu was going to be. Of course, he was already a stellar guy. He was the guy I wanted so desperately to take home to my parents, to present him as my one and only. College was just the beginning for him. Kim Mingyu was destined for amazing things, to do amazing things for this world. I just hoped I could become a part of it.
"So, you ready to get started on this project?" I asked. "Why can't we just sit here and chat? Why is it that we have to get started on the project? It's not due for another three weeks." "Because, I know how you are, Mingyu. You'll throw ragers the next couple of weeks as a final hooray before everyone leaves for a month and then you'll forget about the project until the very last minute which makes us both stressed! If we at least brainstorm and decide what we are going to do, it means less work in the long-run." "And more time for you to come by one of my parties?" I sighed in defeat. Mingyu knew I wasn't the type of person who liked to go out to parties. I liked going to the dive bars with my friends. There was nothing appealing to me about sweaty bodies pushed up against one another in a basement. You couldn't even hear people with how loud the bass was! However, Mingyu has been trying to get me to go to a party since we met. And he's been using that this being our senior year as a perfect way to guilt trip me into going. "And I'll come by one of your parties," I promised. "What about the one tonight?" "Already having one tonight?" "What! It's a great way to welcome everyone back," he laughed. "Seriously. If we are able to decide how we are going to do the project, then you have to come by tonight." "Ok, ok. I'll come by tonight if we both do the work." "Deal!"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After an hour of intensive research, you and Mingyu decided on an approach for your project. You were going to interview people on campus to see if there was a common fear among college students. You had some guesses, but you were hoping to find a way to bust those fears that plague most college students.
"I think this might be our best project yet, y/n! I don't know what you think of these types of things. You're so creative."
Don't blush, y/n. Don't give yourself away.
I smiled politely in return, a laugh bubbling out of my throat. "I just like creating work for you to do. You know I'm the type to take allllll the credit for every assignment," I teased.
"Oh right. Because you know the moment I do things a certain way then you'll just jump in and try to do the project all by yourself." "Hey! That was sophomore year y/n! I think I've gotten a lot better since then when it comes to group projects," I pouted. "You have. Trust me, darling. There's a reason why I always come back to you," he winked.
Oh, there he goes again. Mingyu the Flirt. I was going to slip one of these days, let him and all of campus probably know my secret if he keeps it up. And the worst part was that it wasn't just an act. His was just naturally flirty.
Both of us were beginning to pack up our backpacks. Our laptops had slid into our backpacks before they zipped up in unison. It was getting close to 5pm, and if I was expected to be at Mingyu's tonight, I had to get home and get ready. Not that I was banking one tonight being the night things finally work out for us, but I didn't want to seem like a slob.
"So, you coming tonight, Ms. Anti-Fraternity?"
I sighed and nodded. "Yes, Mr. President, I will be there."
He smiled wide before swinging an arm around me. Oh god dammit. The universe was testing me. "That's the spirit, angel!" He began leading the two of us out of the cafe, side by side and pulled into his side. I was trying my best not to look like a deer caught in headlights by his gesture. I'm surprised my legs haven't given out at all from the series of events that are unfolding right now. Sure, Mingyu and I were close, but he's never been this bold with me. What is he up to?
I could feel eyes on us as we made our way out of the coffee shop. Some girls were whispering to one another, glancing towards us. Other guys looked at Mingyu with shock. I wanted the ground to swallow me whole to prevent me from embarrassing not only me, but also him. Keeping his arm around me, he used his free hand to push the glass door open.
"You're too kind," I said playfully. I offered a gentle smile as I detached myself from Mingyu so I could step over the threshold. I glanced behind me to see if Mingyu was following but froze when I saw he didn't. He was still standing by the door, leaving it open. Instead of just holding it open from someone coming in, I caught him at the start of a conversation. He was talking to Jennie.
Now, Jennie and I didn't have any beef. She was in our psychology class, so we ran into her often. She never joined our study sessions, thank goodness, because she often preferred to study with her sorority sisters. However, she knew Mingyu outside of class as she was always trying to set up mixers and pre-games for football season with his fraternity. Jennie had sensed that Mingyu and I were close, so oftentimes, she would approach me asking if he was still single. She was trying to gather her intel before making a move.
"Excited for the party tonight, Mingyu! Want me to come over early to help set up?" She took a step closer to him. Her hip brushed against his which caused his eyes to widen. His grip slipped from the door as he was holding the edge, closing the door on me. "Oh, I didn't really think of that. I was just going to get Seungkwan and Dino to help me, maybe some of the pledges." That was the last thing I heard before the door fully closed. I was now on the outside looking in. Time froze as I watched her take another step forward. She blocked his view of me. Her hand gently reached up to rest on his bicep, squeezing it. She wore a playful smile while Mingyu smiled, or at least tried to. I would like to think that I knew him well enough to tell his genuine smile apart from his fake one. All I could see was him nodding before she began leaning in.
Okay, that's my cue. I quickly spun on my heels to walk in the direction of my apartment.
——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
"Are you sure the dress isn't too short?" I mumbled.
I was walking to the frat with my roommate. She insisted that I shouldn't go alone. Not sure if it was because of my retelling of the events that transpired outside of the coffee shop or the fact she wanted a good laugh at me attending my first frat party.
After seeing Jennie with Mingyu, I ranted to my roommate about everything. I was frustrated with the circumstances where the two of us would never work out. We are two separate people who make awesome friends. I didn't want to jeopardize that. It was also partially due to the fact I could not bring myself forward to confess to Mingyu how I was feeling.
Her solution was simple - dress to kill. "If you can't say how you feel about him, make him realize what he's missing out on. You gotta go out there and steal his attention."
The look that could kill was a rather short red dress. It was a sparkly red which would be able to be noticed even in the dimmest of spots in the hell I was about to enter. A frat basement was somewhere I thought I'd never end up, but here we are. It hugged my curves perfectly and had sleeves that were cuffed at the elbow by an elastic band. I wore a pair of beat-up sneakers, so I could be comfortable for the evening. This wasn't a formal event. This was about making Mingyu notice me.
"To be honest, I think it could be shorter. But you're not trying to sleep with him, just get him to notice you, right? It's enough to let his imagination run wild," she smirked.
I rolled my eyes at her antics yet kept a light smile on my lips. It was a good idea. I just felt so out of my element, so I was trying my hardest to warm up to the idea before stepping foot into the party. I wanted to come across as confident as ever, to catch his attention, and to make him realize that maybe I have a chance compared to the other girls he's been with or at least seen around campus with.
After 10 minutes walking, we arrived at the frat house. There were a few people loitering around outside. Most girls were wearing ripped jeans or very short black skirts. There were a few fraternity brothers gathered up at the front, a few I recognized - Joshua, Wonwoo, and Seungcheol. They were looking across the groups gathered outside of their residence, probably trying to see how they could minimize the appearance to avoid cops showing up. Yet, Wonwoo was looking directly at me with a smug girl. He was probably the closest with Mingyu so I knew him the best.
"Well, well, what do we have here?" He called out to us. Some people on the sidewalk and the two guys beside him looked our way. I groaned internally at Wonwoo's commotion before approaching the entrance of the party.
"How the hell did Mingyu convince you to come, doll?" "I lost a bet to the devil." "Well, you can go ahead inside. I'm sure Mingyu is keeping an eye out for you." "Oh come on, he probably sensed her already out here. He was basically buzzing off the walls when he was telling me we would be graced with y/n's presence tonight," Seungcheol laughed. "Be careful, y/n. I heard he likes to bite," Joshua teased.
I bit the inside of my cheek to prevent myself from blushing hard. It's not like I haven't fantasized about him like that before.
The three guys grinned at me, stepping out of the way to let me and my roommate through. Instantly, we were greeted by groups of people all drinking, mingling, and dancing. You could hear the bass from downstairs through the floor, as we were on the main floor.
My roommate pushed me through towards the kitchen. I looked at her puzzled, thinking the initial plan was to find Mingyu. "You need a drink to loosen up first, babes. Trust me. You look terrified right now, not sexy." I just nodded as we were found ourself in a somewhat crowded kitchen. Yet, there was a pathway to the collection of alcohol on display - tequila, gin, vodka, rum with a plethora of mixers. Definitely Mingyu's idea to have more mixers than alcohol, so everyone could drink to their comfort level.
We were by the kitchen island, almost in our own little world. The groups around us were quickly grabbing their refills before either moving away to a different part of the house or to the main event in the basement. Before I could even process anything, a shot glass was placed in front of me, seeing my roommate looked at me with a wicked grin. "Choose your poison, y/n."
My eyes scanned the liquor before reaching towards the tequila. My hands were about to grasp the handle but I took a quick surveillance. Where could it be? "Looking for these, princess?"
I glanced over my shoulder to see the man of the hour, Mingyu. In one hand, he was holding a container or salt, and in his other hand was a lime. Speak of the devil. He was wearing a black shirt and black pants. A gold chain was around his neck. I would love to just grab that chain and tug his lips close to mine. Okay, I do need a drink. ASAP.
"How did you know?" "Feel like I know you pretty well, but still wasn't sure if you were going to show up tonight. I figured I would still prep just in case. Welcome to my kingdom," he teased.
He crossed the room to be where were. For a moment, I could have sworn his eyes traveled my body. First at the dress before looking up and down my torso and legs. I had spun to face him more directly. It was then I could have sworn his eyes were on my chest before he made eye contact with me. He set the salt and lime to my right, in between my roommate and I. His other hand rested on the countertop to my other side, somewhat caging me.
"You're just full of surprises. First, disappearing on me at the coffee shop, but now actually showing up to my party? And now wanting to do tequila shots?" "Just scratching the surface," I smirked.
My roommate shared glances between Mingyu and I. But before I could introduce her to him, she stepped back completely. My eyes widened slightly but she wore that same smirk from before. "I think I'm gonna let you two catch up. I'm going to go talk to that one guy outside," she announced. I couldn't even argue with her to stay before she headed out of the kitchen.
"And then there were two," Mingyu announced. Seeing as my roommate had wondered off for her own adventure, Mingyu placed his hand fully beside the salt and tequila. I was fully in the lion's den now.
I mustered up the courage to look him in the eyes. It was then I noticed that the entire kitchen had cleared out. When did that happen? Did people just leave seeing Mingyu walk in? The thought of him having that type of authority made me weak in the knees.
"Wonwoo wasn't lying when he said you looked absolutely breathtaking tonight, baby," he murmured.
His hand to my right moved to rest on my side. His fingers slowly trailing up and down my side, teasing the waters. His touch was light, almost not there. It was enough though for electricity to shoot through my body, making me hyperaware this was reality and not some fantasy.
"You talking about me to others now?"
He leaned forward, enough so he just had to bow his head down to be at my ear. "You're all I talk about. You don't even know," he whispered. His lips brushed against the shell of my ear, enough to cause goosebumps to form and shivers to run down my spin. If it wasn't for the countertop pressing into my back gently, my knees would have given out.
"Come on, I have something better than just doing shots all night," Mingyu said. He reached down to grab onto my head, lacing his fingers with mine. His touch was warm and soft, sending shockwaves through my nervous system. I didn't get a chance to question him where we were going before he led me out of the kitchen. He just turned back towards me and gave me a wink. Oh god.
We made our journey through the frat house towards the split staircase. One that went down to the basement and another that went upstairs, assumedly where the guys slept. People who saw Mingyu turned to try to strike up a conversation but stopped when they saw me by his side. Some girls were throwing daggers in my directions with their harsh gaze. Jennie being one of them before she turned her back to talk to her sorority sisters. How the tables have turned. I expected that Mingyu was going to take me to the basement, but was met with surprise when we started ascending up the staircase. A few of Mingyu's brothers started whistling and howling at the sight of Mingyu with someone.
From in front of me, I heard Mingyu sigh and watched as he shook his head. "I'm sorry about them. Just ignore them. They wished they were getting some action tonight, but I think we both know the only date they'll have is with the toilet when they drink too much."
I laughed at Mingyu's joke. "No worries about it. I guess they are just showing support for their friend?" "Yeah, I guess so. I just don't want you to lump me in with them."
What was that supposed to mean? I never viewed Mingyu at the typical frat guy. I didn't hear stories about him just sleeping after a party and dumping a girl the next day. Sure, he has been linked with a few people, but he didn't seem like the type to do one-night stands. He wasn't the guy who made jungle juice with unknown liquors that could get you fucked up fast. He was meticulous in what was distributed to his party, often hoping people bring their own alcohol so they know what they re consuming. Or at least that's what he told me.
Mingyu soon led me to his bedroom. He walked in through the doorway, but I found myself froze. Was my perception of Mingyu wrong this whole time? Were we just going to fuck? Did I mean that little to him that he was willing to throw our friendship away.
He must've felt the slight tug of his hand due to me stopping my movement. He turned his head back, trying to assess what was wrong. I stood by the doorway, trying to pull my head gently out of his grip.
"Gyu, I don't think this is a good idea. We're friends. Us sleeping together-" "You think I brought you up here to just have sex? Doll, I'm hurt," he gasped. I watched as he playfully placed his hand over his heart. "You think I'm that much of a horny bastard?"
I quickly shook my head before rushing into his room, stopping short of where he stood. "Gyu, please. That's not what I meant at all. I just didn't know why else you'd bring me up here when the party is downstairs? Isn't that why frat guys bring girls upstairs? To fuck?"
He smirked seeing how flustered I got. My cover was slowly unraveling, my motive of having him chase after me being flipped where I was starting to chase after him. "Y/n, you've seen too many movies," he laughed. "Besides, I'd never do anything to jeopardize losing you."
I could feel my cheeks becoming hotter. I hoped at least that was being concealed under the darkness of his bedroom. He stepped back and headed towards his bedroom window. "Do you trust me?" He asked. I nodded my head slowly, trying not to come across as too eager. Any sort of dignity that I could preserve at the moment is of upmost importance.
"Good." Mingyu flipped the lock at the top of his window. He pushed it open all the way until there was a soft thud of the window hitting the top of the window sill. He stepped out onto the roof with ease. He then turned back towards me, a hand reached out to me.
"The things I do for you, Gyu, I swear," I huffed. I took his hand, my other hand trying the best to keep my dress from flying up.
"Watch your head, gorgeous," he called out. This time, his tone was gentle and soft. It was a stark contrast being outside where you could barely hear the music from inside the house. I stepped over the window sill carefully, one foot down before the other following. I was somewhat hunched over to avoid hitting my head. Mingyu took it upon himself to use his free hand to hover over my head in case I did end up standing up too soon.
Once I was over the window and onto the roof, I stood up straight. My eyes widened from the view. "Oh wow," I breathed out. You could see all of campus from up here! You could see the tall oak trees that lined up around campus. You could see the various academic buildings and the college town beside us.
What really took my attention was noticing that there was a blanket sprawled out on the rooftop. Luckily, the rooftop was leveled and next to the fire escape, so there was no worry of slipping or anything. The blanket was added for comfort. I also noticed that there was a bottle of my favorite white wine Moscato chilling in a bucket. There were also string lights that decorated the ledge of the rooftop. It was it's on oasis.
"Come on, angel." He squeezed my hand gently before guiding me towards the blanket. I followed him gently to the blanket where I took my seat, my legs tucking underneath me. Mingyu joined me on the right side, sitting rather close. "Wait, hold on."
He popped up from the spot on the rooftop before heading towards inside. I frowned a bit when he left me alone, but turned my attention to the scenery outside. The warmth from inside the house still radiated throughout my body, so the crisp air of the November evening didn't bother me as much. My eyes ran along with the stars, trying to see what constellations I could make out. It was peaceful out here.
I jumped a bit when I felt something brush against my legs. I looked down to see a leather jacket, but relaxed when I noticed it was Mingyu dropping his jacket over me. I tilted my head back to see him looking down at me, a fond smile on my lips. Yet, there was something in his eyes. Maybe it was the glow of the lights outside making them sparkle more than usual or something on his mind? Either way, he was breathtaking. "Quite the gentleman, Gyu," I teased. "Thank you though." "You know I'd do anything for you. That's also why I set this up for you, for us, really. I know large crowds like the one happening inside aren't your thing, so I wanted to make sure you were comfortable being here." "So you don't do this for every girl?"
Mingyu snorted a bit, chuckling lightly under his breath. He pulled out two red solo cups, handing one to me while keeping the other by him. "No, y/n. Only the best reserved for you."
Carefully, Mingyu twisted off the cap of the wine bottle. He first poured the wine into my red solo cup. I couldn't help but giggle at the notion of drinking wine out of a red solo cup, something that typically holds cheap beer or mixed drinks.
"So that's why I'm getting a red solo cup? To really get the experience of being at a frat party?" "Hey, it's the best I could do," I laughed. "You really trust me with anything breakable?" "No, you're right. If it was a wine glass, you would've dropped it by now," I laughed, taking a sip of the wine. "I told you I'd do anything for you."
I kept my wide smile hidden once from Mingyu when I took a sip of the wine. He was quite the charmer. I placed the Moscato down behind me, by the corner of the blanket to avoid spilling. Mingyu did the same as we both seemed to gaze out at the world around us. It's crazy to think that in a short few months, we'll be saying goodbye to this place. This place has become my favorite place filled with my favorite people.
"So, y/n. What happened early? Why did you just leave the coffee shop?" Mingyu asked suddenly.
My eyes widened at the question. "Oh, you noticed?" I asked softly. My head dropped to look at my lap. "I thought you were busy talking to Jennie. I didn't want to interrupt."
"If anything, she interrupted us," he sighed. He then reached for his cup and took another sip. "Is that what you're afraid of? Being rude?"
I shook my head, picking my head up slightly. No, if only you knew what I was afraid of.
"I'll tell you what I'm afraid of. I'm afraid of being alone. I love my life as it is right now, but I'm afraid of the uncertainty that comes with the next chapter," he confessed. He was leaning back on his hands now. His gaze shifting from the view of campus below to me. "I'm comfortable knowing I get to see my friends, get to see you. What am I supposed to do next?"
I frowned hearing his concern. "Gyu, whatever you do next, you're going to do great. I know it's scary about moving away from what you are familiar with. What I can say though is that knowing you, seeing you grow over the past two years, has been remarkable." My hand reached over to rest on his knee comfortingly, giving it a light squeeze. I looked at him directly in the eyes, hoping he could sense my sincerity in my words. "You're a great guy, Gyu. Don't doubt your capabilities. You can do anything you put your mind to."
His gazed looked down towards where my hand was on his. I followed suit. Oh no, did I make him uncomfortable? I was about to retreat my hand from him, but he quickly grasped it gently. "Thank you," he whispered. He lifted my hand to kiss the back of it before letting it rest in his lap. His grip on my hand was loose, in case I wanted to slip my hand away. I just couldn't bring myself to do it.
"What about you? What are you afraid of?"
I took a deep breath. Mingyu just poured his heart out to me. I would be a hypocrite if I didn't say something, especially when I told him to put his brave face on and be determined to get what he wants. I deserve to at least try, right? Or I could end up regretting it for the rest of my life? That's at least what people warn about.
His gaze on me was soft. He was patient as he waited for me to muster up my truth.
"Loving you," I confessed. "Loving me? You're afraid of that? Why?" "Gyu, let's look at what you did for me tonight alone. You went through the trouble of setting up basically a separate event just for me. This is the shit they write about in romance novels. It just doesn't happen to girls like me!" "Wait, let's back up first. Do you like me, y/n?"
Oh god, oh god. Why did I open my mouth and say something? Maybe I could spin it off that I'm afraid of commitment in general? What if I spun it that I was trying to get over an ex and I was shocked by Mingyu's kind gesture? That he already treats me better than any ex? I mean, there is some truth to that. Mingyu was better than any ex I've had.
"Y/n?"
My mind was trying to wrap around some sort of lie I could tell to save myself. Before I could finalize my lie, I felt a hand on my face. Very slowly and gently, I realized Mingyu put his hand on my face. He was turning it towards me. I also noticed that he had moved closer to me now. He was sitting up tall, his face hovering over mine. He tilted my head up so I had to look at him in the eyes.
"Y/n, do you like me?" "I might have the smallest, tiniest crush on you," I whispered. "How do you think that we could conquer that fear?"
I raised an eyebrow, about to pull back from here. He was really thinking about our final assignment right now? "Because you took the first step in confessing your feelings for me. And you said you were afraid of loving me. It seems seeing if I have the same feelings for you is the best way to conquer that fear." "Well? Do you?" "Baby girl, I've had feelings since our first group project together."
His forehead gently rested against mine. He could probably hear my rapid heartbeat at this point. "Why do you think I've always picked you as my group partner?" "Because I'm smart and can get stuff done?" I laughed, trying to ease my nerves. He chuckled at that joke. "Well, yes, because you are smart. You're also very kind, insightful, determined, and gorgeous. You are the girl that I've been trying to get to come to my party so I could finally make a move in the element I feel most comfortable in. If anything, I'm afraid of you." "Afraid of me? Mingyu, you're 6'2." How can you be afraid of someone who is barely 5'5"?" "Because you are too perfect to me. I know what people think of me. They see the frat president who sleeps with people. When they see you, they see the girl who is going to move mountains when she graduates. They will wonder why you settled for a guy like me?"
That's it. I was not going to allow him to slander himself. Feeling bold enough, I moved Mingyu's jacket off of my legs. I set it beside me before gently climbing into his lap. One hand rested on his shoulder to stabilize me as I got comfortable. My other hand moved to rest on his cheek, now being the one turning his attention towards me.
Mingyu wrapped his arms around me. He pulled me in close, tightening his arms so I wouldn't fall backwards by mistake. My heart picked up as I felt my breathing become a bit shaky. Was this actually happening? "If you saw what I see, you would see that you are everything that I want. That's why I'm afraid of loving you because you seem too good to be real," I confessed. "Well let me help you overcome your fear by proving to you this is reality."
Mingyu leaned in slightly. He stopped himself short, where his lips were brushing against mine. He looked up into my eyes to see if I felt comfortable. My heart melted at the simple act of checking for consent. See. He was one in a million.
Taking it upon myself, my lips pressed against his fully. I could feel his smile against my lips as he tilted his head ever so slightly. Just enough for our lips to be pressed together perfectly, causing the kiss to move smoothly as our lips were catching one another's. His lips were just as smooth. He tasted like wine mixed with a bit of mint chapstick. Butterflies erupted in my stomach. This was actually happening. My one hand slid from his shoulder to rest on the back of his head.
He was the one who slowly broke the kiss. I pouted playfully, as it ended far too soon for my liking. He chuckled lightly before pecking my lips.
"Don't worry, darling. There will be more kisses." "That wasn't so scary after all," I confessed. "I'll help you conquer any fear of yours if you let me."

let’s go back to the start
this is just one of the many time travel stories I will be writing
Warnings: messing with time, angst, sad sad sad, blood, unrequited love, bittersweet, hurt no comfort, I am begging you to please listen to The Scientist by Coldplay while reading
You knelt beside him as he coughed up the blood gurgling in his throat. It sprayed in little droplets across your face, but you couldn’t bring yourself to cringe away from him when he needed you like this.
His hand was turning clammier, colder as you clutched in your own. His skin was turning paler and paler by the second.
He rattled off his wished to Dustin, each word coming out slower and slower and you could tell how much him pained him to talk but that didn't stop him.
Not even the bites of ravenous demobats could make Eddie Munson stop talking.
"You gotta move on, sweetheart. Go out there and be happy for me. Okay?" He said with a soft, bloody smile.
You shook your head, a stern refusal to what he was asking you to do. You could never, ever, be happy in a world without him. He was all you ever knew since you were adopted by your parents and moved to Hawkins. You two had been inseparable since your first day at Hawkins Middle school.
And eventually that friendship of yours had turned into a deep, true love that rocked you to your core.
Now, your love laid dying in front of you from the very thing you thought you had escaped from all those years ago in the lab.
"I love you, Eddie Munson. I'll miss you forever," you said quietly in his ear as his eyes became unfocused and he gazed into the unknown.
Dustin sobbed as he sat on the other side of his best friend's body.
The pain would be over enough soon.
Tears streamed down your face as you lifted a single hand in the air, summoning as much energy as you possibly could when you were already so weak.
Much like Eleven, you also had some tricks up your sleeve.
You felt the world warping around you, time separating and cracking at the seams as you pried it apart in your mind.
Dustin's frantic questioning was muffled in your ears by the roaring of the energy around you.
And then the world went black, like a tv being shut off. For a moment you thought you had messed up, that you had finally destroyed the world like you always feared you would. There was a reason you never dared to do this anymore.
But in the midst of your bodiless panicking the world appeared again, brighter but you were still in the upside down beside Eddie's body.
And then it reversed.
Like a tape being rewound, everything moved backwards.
You had no control over anything as you watched Eddie get up and move in reverse while you and Dustin did the same.
It was like you were watching the movie of your life take place backwards.
It happened quickly. You were living through every kiss, every touch, every argument with Eddie in a blink of an eye until you finally reached the day you two met in Mrs. Harmony's classroom and chose the seat right next to Eddie.
You wanted it to slow down. You wanted to savor it. You just wanted something to remember him by when he didn't know you anymore.
But before you knew it, it was all over. The world flickered and you found yourself thirteen years old again, walking into that classroom and refusing to sit next to the boy with the kind smile and big brown eyes.
---
Spring break came and went with no dead cheerleaders, no earthquakes, and no satanic cult leaders.
Because the good thing about time travel is that you are always one step ahead of everyone else, and that meant Vecna got dealt with before he could become strong enough to terrorize the teenagers of Hawkins.
You weren’t able to save everyone or stop everything from happening like you wanted it to, but you still felt satisfied with saving the world.
But you weren’t able to be happy today as you watched from front steps of Max’s trailer as Eddie loaded his belongings into the back of his van.
Max bickered with Lucas inside while El sat beside you, shooting you curious looks every so often.
It was hot, the sun beaming down on you and knew El was dying to be inside but she insisted on staying out here with you.
You had never told your friends what you had done. When it came to meeting Robin you pretended not to know her favorite color was yellow and when you had your first real conversation with Steve you pretended not know that he slept with lights on too.
You felt like an imposter.
“You didn't want to meet him again. Why?" El asked.
You couldn't even bother to be surprised that she had figured it out somehow, or maybe she had known the whole time and just decided to keep it to herself.
“It was safer for him,” you admitted as you stared ahead.
Eddie muttered a curse as he dropped something. He bent over to pick it up and when he stood, he made eye contact where you sat only fifty feet away from him.
You breath sucked in and he froze for a moment. You thought then that he knew, that maybe he remembered you because he was looking at you like the way you remembered.
But he merely blinked a few times before giving a small wave and going back to what he was doing.
“And why can’t you say something now?” El asked.
Eddie’s trailer door opened and Wayne walked out, laughing at something Chrissy had said.
She had a bag slung over her shoulder and she sat it in the back of the van before giving Eddie a kiss on his cheek.
“Because he’s happy now,” you said with a broken voice.
El said nothing as she reached over and squeezed your hand.
You watched as they gave Wayne their goodbyes before loading up into the van. Eddie wasted no time speeding out of the trailer park, towards his new adventure with Chrissy by his side and in his heart; leaving you in the past.

The Daughter's Return: Month 4
A Steamy Situation
Part One | Next Chapter | Table of Contents | Read on AO3
This idea was sent to me by Anonymous! CW: it gets a little steamy in some parts Characters: female reader x Portgas D. Ace Word Count: 3.3k
“You didn’t tell us the mission was at an onsen!” you whispered, your voice full of excitement.
“Because I knew you would pester me about getting here faster,” Marco griped. “Go check in. We can’t be seen together.”
You squealed in excitement and reached for Ace’s hand. This weekend was going to be so much more fun than you initially thought. You could already feel the air change, both you and Ace thinking of what the two of you could do.
“No,” Marco hissed, slapping your hand away. “You’ve got the solo room. Me and Ace have a business suite.”
Your mouth dropped as you stared at Marco, trying to fully understand his words. “Excuse me?”
“Go!” Marco said, pushing you towards the front door. “Remember your code name!”
But you weren’t ready to give up yet. “You take the single room!” you pouted. “Come on Marco, seriously? Just let me and Ace-”
“No.” Marco’s voice was low and serious, indicating his decision came from someone higher than him. And there was only one person higher than him. “We can’t be distracted. Distractions-”
“Mean death,” you grumbled, finishing his words for him. Your eyes flitted over to Ace, a silent message passing between you two: Find me tonight.
Your check-in went smoothly. You operated under the name Astrid Cleminson, but the man at the desk didn’t even ask for an ID.
Your only goal was to find the pirates who were rumored to be staying here; ones who had plans to attack an island under the Whitebeard Pirates' protection. Maybe if you found them today, Marco would swap rooms with you.
Your room only fueled your desire to share it with Ace. You had gotten a private onsen with your room and a beautiful patio with lush, green plants scattered throughout it. You wanted nothing more than to sit all evening in that hot spring with Ace, the two of you quietly enjoying each other’s company. But Marco had robbed that from you.
You quickly unpacked your things and went to find the communal female bath. Nobody there would know you had a private one in your room, and you needed to find these pirates as soon as possible so you could enjoy a bit of vacation away from the ship.
You stayed in there for an hour, desperately listening to all of the conversations around you, but if there were enemy pirates, they didn’t show their hand. You finally gave up and retreated back to your room.
Funnily enough, you were inserting your key just as your neighbor was inserting his. You turned your head to see who it was, and your eyes found your favorite freckled boy.
He gave you a cocky smirk. “Come here often?”
“Ace?” you whispered, looking up and down the hallway. “You guys are my neighbors?!”
“I guess Marco had it set up this way so it wouldn’t be obvious to any onlookers if we walked into each other’s rooms.”
“Wanna come into mine now?” You turned the door handle and raised your eyebrows at him, all but begging him to join you.
His eyes lit up and his smile became devious as he followed you into your room and quickly shut the door behind him.
Ace was on you in an instant, his lips pushed against yours in a hungry desperation. The two of you had been traveling with Marco for almost a week now and had hardly had a moment to yourselves. Even sleeping, Marco made you guys split up. It was almost annoying how much of a dad he was being on this trip. But now it didn’t matter. You had Ace all to yourself.
You whined into his mouth, pulling at the buckle of his pants. Normally Ace made fun of your desperation, but today he obliged with quick eagerness, as if the two of you were running out of time before you had even started. He loosened his buckle and pushed his pants off, leaving one less piece of fabric between the two of you.
His fingers twitched at the hem of your shirt, which was all you needed to break away from him to quickly pull it over your head, throwing it on the floor. You didn’t need any encouragement today; just a small touch was enough to make you crazy. The two of you stumbled over to the bed, trying to stay close but still working on your own clothing.
Ace was fumbling with the buttons of his own shirt, trying to desperately pull them apart.
“This is why I hate shirts,” he mumbled, clearly struggling with his task at hand.
You gave a soft giggle at his attempt and grabbed his shirt collar, pulling him back into your lips again. You were so desperate for more of a taste of him. Your own tongue swirling against his, with moans of desperation filling the room.
Your fingers skillfully trailed down his shirt, unbuttoning each one until there were none left. You had to admit, Ace always did look good in a button-up, and you loved that he didn’t have to break away from your lips to take it off.
A knock came at the door, startling you both. You paused for a moment, lips still locked.
“Ms. Astrid?” Marco’s sharp voice came from the other side of the door, and you wanted to weep. Just ten minutes. You only needed ten minutes without him constantly checking on you.
You pulled away from Ace, his face turning into an instant pout as you cleared your throat and prepared to speak.
“Yeah?” Your voice came out uncertain, but you knew Marco could hear your voice through the door.
“Do you know where my assistant is?” Marco asked, his voice quiet and stern.
“No!” you called out. Ace, growing impatient, began sucking on your neck gently, trying his best not to leave marks.
“Really?” Marco’s voice called. You could hear the skepticism in his voice, but you didn’t care.
“Mhmm,” you hummed. Your brain was starting to get foggy, and you prayed Marco would go somewhere else for just a few minutes. You just wanted a little time with Ace.
“Interesting,” Marco said.
Ace bit at your tender flesh and you started to moan out, but his hand quickly flew up and clamped over your mouth to muffle your lewd noises.
“It’s just weird,” Marco said, still right on the other side of your door. “Because his key is in our door. And your key is still in your door.”
Both of you froze, and you could hear the knob starting to turn. You had seconds before Marco opened the door and found the two of you half-naked and entangled in an embrace.
You had just enough time to break apart and throw Ace’s shirt over you before Marco swung the door open, a look of disappointment already on his face.
“Can’t you guys focus on the mission for 5 minutes?” he scolded, staring down at the two of you on the bed.
“Can't you leave us alone for ten?” you shot back. You couldn’t help your foul mood. Being in such a beautiful place like this and having to pretend like you and Ace were strangers was killing you. It wasn’t fair that you were stuck here alone. It wasn’t fair that you couldn’t be with Ace.
“You need to grow up,” Marco said, his voice short and snippy. “Learn some control, both of you. People’s lives are on the line. People who are under our protection. Or did you forget that part of the job?”
You rolled your eyes “It’s not even a difficult mission-”
“I don’t give a rat’s ass if it seems like a difficult mission or not. You need to treat every mission like it’s your hardest one yet, or else you’ll get overconfident and you’ll fail. And people will die.”
The words stung, and you thought back to your failure just a few months ago. You were supposed to protect those people, and you had failed.
Ace sucked in a breath, knowing where your mind had gone. “Now hang on, Marco-”
“I don’t want to hear it, Ace. The two of you have been getting away with things because you technically got the mission done, so Pops lets it slide. But we’re not doing a sloppy success this time, and we’re sure as hell not failing it. So I need you guys to actually focus on something other than each other for 5 seconds and we can get this over with.” Marco paused, realizing he may have been a bit too harsh on you. “And then you guys can resume whatever was happening before I walked in, okay?”
You both knew he was right, even if he was rude in his delivery. It was pointless to argue anyway. Ace sighed and got up from the bed, giving you a soft kiss on the forehead as he went. You couldn’t bring yourself to watch him go or to make eye contact with Marco. You were too filled with shame.
And then they were gone, leaving you alone with your thoughts.
You were steaming from Marco’s words. You could feel it. But he wasn’t wrong. You had failed or sloppily completed all of your major missions over the past few months. Some of them hadn’t been your fault for failure, but you had to wonder if you would’ve been more aware of things if Ace wasn’t always on your mind. Even things as mundane as grocery shopping seemed to make you and your commander stumble these days; your minds were simply too cluttered with the thoughts of each other.
The realization of his words brought tears to your eyes, and you struggled to blink them away. You didn’t want to be a failure. You had trained for two years so you wouldn’t be a failure. And yet here you were, struggling to focus on the task at hand because of a boy.
No more. You would complete this and every mission from here on out with perfect accuracy. Failure couldn’t be an option anymore. You refused to mess up.
You didn’t sleep well that night. The victims of your failures came to visit you in your dreams, accompanied by Marines you feared and everyone’s opinion you valued. They all mocked you for your decisions and pain. Eventually, you decided your own conscious thoughts were better than the subconscious ones, and stared at the sky until you saw the sun start to come up.
At breakfast, you kept your eyes peeled and ears open for any hints of pirate or coded words. You saw Ace, but the two of you quickly looked away from one another. You had a mission to focus on.
You went to the woman’s bath and cleared your mind as you dipped into the water. You had to listen now for any tips.
“He did what?!”
“I swear, the whole thing!”
No.
“I’m going to try to go to Sabaody this summer!”
“Aren’t you worried about the Celestial Dragons?”
“They don’t scare me!”
No.
“If we want that aggressive of a timetable, we’ll have to leave today.”
“It’ll take five days to reach it?”
“Five days if we’re lucky.”
There. Your eyes snapped over to the two women talking, and you memorized everything you could about their physical appearance as you focused in on their conversation.
“It’s a small window, but there’s only a week where the Beards aren’t around. So it's best we move quickly.”
The Beards was a horrible codename, but it made it easier to know they were the people you needed to eavesdrop on. There was only one problem, the two women were getting out of the public bath and beginning to retreat to the changing room.
You didn’t want to look suspicious for exiting as soon as you entered. And you certainly didn’t want to look like you were following those women. So you did the only logical thing.
You began coughing. Not a dainty cough either. The type of cough that makes people think you’re about to lose a lung. You jumped out of the water, still coughing, and stumbled back to the women's dressing room.
The women immediately stopped talking as you entered the changing room, but you could sense they didn’t think you were a threat. You quickly got changed and exited the room, desperate to find Marco before they left.
The women followed you out, and you continued to feign your cough, hoping it would draw Marco or Ace.
Miraculously, Marco rounded the corner and began casually walking toward you. You pointed a finger subtly at the two women behind you so only Marco could see it, and passed by him without any further indication that you knew each other.
Marco would take care of the rest. The two of you had worked together long enough that he knew your simplest signals and what they meant. Now, all you wanted was to return to your room and rest.
You slept for hours. It was a dreamless sleep, thankfully. You needed the rest and probably would’ve slept all night if you hadn’t been woken up.
A knock came on the other side of your door woke you, and you opened it to find Marco on the other side.
“Can we talk?”
You gave a silent nod and followed him down the hall and out of the building.
“They left this afternoon, so we can drop the cover stories now,” Marco said.
You gave another nod to acknowledge his words. You still weren’t sure where you stood with him after yesterday.
“Do you feel better?” Marco asked. “It’s always nice to have a solid win.”
“Yeah.” You kicked a rock down the path. The air felt heavy with tension, as if you were about to get scolded again.
“Listen, kid. I’m not mad at you,” he said. “You just needed some sense talked into you. And spite is like, your greatest motivator, y’know?”
You looked at him curiously, surprised that those were the words he chose to speak. You were expecting a lecture, but that didn’t seem to be the case. “What do you mean?”
“I mean you do everything out of pure spite when someone says you can’t do it. And you need the sense knocked into you or you’re too stubborn to change. I didn’t mean to hurt you.”
“I know,” You said. And you believed him. Marco never said or did anything to intentionally hurt you, but he also wouldn’t spare your feelings when you needed to be corrected.
“Well, our mission was successful. So go.” Marco pushed you back towards the onsen. “I think he’s waiting for you at the bar. Don’t make him wait too long. I have a report to make, it’ll probably take me at least a few hours before I get back to my room.”
Your eyes grew wide. “Really?”
“Go! Before I change my mind!”
You gave him a grateful smile and took off back towards the bar. Finally, you’d get time alone. Finally, you could relax. You just had to find him.
You slid onto the barstool next to Ace, but he didn’t even bother to look over at you. It was semi-crowded in the bar, and you knew he wasn’t exactly expecting you to be sitting next to him in such a public place.
“Two drinks of your finest sake,” you said to the bartender. Your voice prompted Ace’s head to swivel toward you, shocked that you were actually next to him.
You grinned over at him. “I’m celebrating.”
“Celebrating?” Ace questioned, a soft smile appearing on his face. It was always good news when you were smiling.
“Just closed on a really big job. I’ve got the weekend to relax now.”
Ace’s eyes lit up, understanding the subtle explanation you were giving him. “That is cause for a celebration.”
The bartender set two drinks in front of you, and you slid one over to Ace. “Just need someone to celebrate with now,” you said, your eyes lingering over his body.
“Oh, I’m always down to celebrate a big accomplishment,” Ace said. He threw down some money for your alls drinks, grabbing his drink in one hand and your hand in the other. “Lead the way.”
You grinned, picking up your drink and pulling him along with you, trying your best not to seem overeager to anyone else in the bar. But the moment you were in the hallway, Ace slammed you up against the wall and pressed his lips against yours.
“Fuck,” he moaned softly. “I’ve been wanting to do that all day.”
“So eager,” you teased. Normally those words came out of his mouth. It was nice to have the tables turned on him for the moment.
Ace’s mouth twitched upwards into a smile. “Shut up,” he mumbled, his lips already dipping down to make contact with yours again. But you pulled away at the last second, continuing your playful act.
“My room,” you whispered. Your fingers intertwined through his and you quickly pulled him down the hallway, trying to get to your room as fast as possible.
You fumbled with your key as you struggled to unlock the door. Ace was as patient as he could be, kissing the nape of your neck as he stood behind you, pressing his body flush against your back.
“Let me kiss you again,” Ace whined.
“Let me open the door first,” you giggled. “Then you can do anything you want to me.”
You could feel his cock twitch against you, the air charged as both of your minds scanned the possibilities your words held.
“Anything?” he whispered, his voice unable to contain the lust and desire he was feeling. God, you missed being this close to him all the time.
You hummed in agreement. You didn’t care what he did in the moment. And usually when you gave him free reign like this, it always ended up being a night to remember.
“I have a private hot spring too,” you said, clicking open the door and turning back to face him too. “Wanna see it?”
His eyes lit up. “I haven’t been in a hot spring yet. Couldn’t get in the public one since our cover would be blown.”
“Wanna go try out this one together?” you asked, wrapping your arms around his neck.
“Oh, that and so much more.” His grin grew devious, and you knew you’d be feeling the ramifications in the morning. You should’ve cared, but the thought only made the anticipation in your core grow heavier.
He picked you up and carried you across the threshold of the doorframe, his lips back against yours again. It was a good thing you had taken that nap because the night was just beginning.
The two of you became one that night, in many different ways and forms. You were afraid to let each other go. Afraid that you might not get another moment that could be this intense. You didn’t break apart until the sun began to rise, the two of you collapsing into one another for a momentary reprieve.
“You are incredible,” Ace whispered, his fingers ghosting across your skin.
“I have a good partner,” you said back, giggling lightly as he kissed your nose.
“I think we can probably get a good thirty-minute nap before Marco comes to get us.”
“We could.” You hummed, considering that option. Your thoughtful expression turned mischievous as you looked at your partner, still slicked in sweat from a night of activity. “Or we could go one more round.”
Ace’s face spread into a wide grin, and his lips instantly began dotting kisses across your skin. “Your wish is my command, princess.”
As he positioned himself above you, you couldn’t help but think: he really was the most wondrous man you’d ever laid your eyes upon.

"Get back here!"
His growl reverberated off the walls of the narrow passage as you scrambled to the small hatch that stood between you and safety. The seconds dragged as you pawed at the latch and dug your shoulder into the warped wood, knowing he was approaching.
You sobbed in relief when it finally popped open, the cool air swirling around your face and filling your lungs in contrast to the dusty, close air you crawled out of.
You were halfway out when his large hand closed around your ankle.
He pulled you back inside, your resistance no match for his seemingly superhuman strength. He tugged you securely under him, his form hovering over yours as you trembled. You watched the expressionless porcelain over his face, trying to read the shadows of his eyes. You saw him drink you in, his gaze registering your disheveled state. Your skirt had ridden up, a peek of underwear visible at your hip. The strap of your dress hung off your shoulder as your chest heaved from the scuffle. And your sweater had tangled up behind you, restricting your arms.
You were begging him before he opened his mouth.
"If I make you feel good, you will stay." He breathed, ignoring your pleas. He lowered himself onto you, using one hand to steady himself and leaving the other free to roam your body. You tried to wriggle away, but his heavy form pinned you just enough to prevent escape. His warm hand traveled gently up your bare thigh, slipping beneath your dress to slowly slide up your side and pause just below your breast. His eyes never left your face. You could feel them boring into you even as you turned away, your own screwed shut. As the tips of his fingers grazed over your bra, you became aware of his hardness against your leg, your struggling only resulting in stimulating him further. You clearly heard his breathing hitch, the sound amplified against the inside of his mask.
The feeling of your soft skin against his at last made him drunk. He was torn between the need to savor every inch of you and the desire to tear into you. To take you apart the way you had done to him without a single touch.
A moment of ferocity took hold of him as he turned you over effortlessly, tearing your clothes off you layer by layer. He found your soft cries of refusal strangely exhilarating. There was so much he had been denied over the years, and it was time for him to experience something fully. No more meager substitutions, no more partial glimpses between wooden slats, no more walls between him and what he wanted.
You were but a doll in his grip as he manhandled you back over and rose up to his knees to get his first full look at you. He loomed, his broad chest expanding further with each heavy breath. You waited, breathless and frozen as he deliberately discarded his cardigan and shrugged his suspenders from his shoulders before bearing down on you again. Your brain jolted into action and you pushed against his chest, your efforts not slowing him in the slightest.
His hands found your breasts first, a gentle grip as his thumbs brushed against your nipples, which peaked in response. He leaned forward, his gaze glued to your lips as you whimpered.
“No, please, Brahms,” Your skin soon became sensitive to his touch and your hips jerked reflexively. He gripped your arms and pulled you up into his embrace, guiding your legs to straddle him. One of his large hands splayed against your back, effectively holding you in place as he continued to explore you. The nose of his mask trailed down the column of your neck as his other hand clutched your ass and he groaned deeply, the sound rumbling in his chest. He hesitated briefly before lifting his mask just enough to free his mouth. Between the dim lighting and his proximity, you only caught a glimpse of his lips before he dove in to lick and nip at your skin. You tried again to push away from him, your arms trapped between you, but his arms were iron as he bit into your shoulder and you cried out helplessly.
His lips soon slotted over yours, his tongue invading your mouth. He tasted of mint with a hint of metallic blood, his tongue eagerly swirling over yours. He backed you into the wall before he grabbed your hips, guiding them to roll over him, your core catching against the crotch of his pants. You whined into his mouth despite yourself, feeling your wetness starting to gather.
He felt foggy, his senses sharp but his mind falling further beneath the waves of you. Drowning and diving deeper without hesitation. He was instantly enamored with each sound, movement, taste. He found himself frustrated at the hindrance of his mask and without thought ripped it from his face, quickly returning to your pliant mouth. It was then that the smell of you came to his nose, and he breathed deeply, intoxicated. He looked down, both curious and electrified at the wet patch over his groin. You squirmed when he dipped his hand down to gather it so he could examine it closer. It stretched between his fingers, slippery to the touch, tangy to his nostrils … and it was in his mouth before he thought about what he was doing.
His eyes flicked up to meet yours as he hummed appreciatively. When he dipped down again, his eyes not leaving your face, he pressed his fingers to your clit and a wave of heat rushed through him at the way your mouth dropped open with a moan. He moved his fingers instinctively, gauging your reaction and chasing your pretty noises.
You weren’t sure of when you had given in, but your hands were tangled in his hair as you ground down on him. You had only taken a moment to adjust to his true face, much of it untouched by the scars. He pulled you from your thoughts with another passionate kiss, his other hand wrapped around your throat. A tightness was building deep in your stomach, your wailing becoming higher and more frenzied. You needed more, your hands scrambling down his back to push under the hem of his shirt. To feel his skin against you. The hand around your neck slid down, once again cradling your breast and swiping over your nipple in time with the fingers on your clit, now circling it with fervor and sending you over the edge with a breathless scream.
You were gorgeous like this, clinging to him while he pulled you through your orgasm, gushing in his lap. Even when you melted against him, he couldn’t stop himself, his fingers playing you like he had a lifetime of practice at your keys. Your hips jerked against him and your sounds changed to whimpers, your legs pressing on either side of him, attempting to close. Your small hands found their way to the fly of his pants, tugging at the material impatiently. He reluctantly pulled his fingers from you, again cleaning them against his tongue before removing what was left of his clothing. You watched him with heavily lidded eyes, and he was the only man in the world.
You felt painfully empty, your body screaming with need as he stripped, revealing his taut muscles, hairy torso, and his angrily leaking cock. You pushed against his shoulder and he obeyed, laying so you could climb atop him. You wrapped your hand around his shaft, a moan falling from his parted lips even before you guided him to your entrance. When you sunk slowly onto his girth, you groaned in unison at the tight fit. You leaned over him, trailing small kisses up his thick neck as you began to bounce on him, sounds practically exploding from his mouth. You took your time, letting you both adjust to the sensation of him entering you over and over again. He was a whining mess by the time you pulled back, circling your hips over him while his hands slid over your body, seemingly mesmerized. He caught one of your nipples in his mouth, both of you keening as your walls clenched down on him in response. When you sat upright and began bouncing again, the change in angle made you both breathless, and his hands flew to your hips in a bruising grip. He was coming undone: his eyes shut tight and his mouth hanging open, his chest heaving as he flung his head back, and you could watch it forever.
He surprised you by planting his feet and fucking up into you, somehow hitting your g-spot with precision. You sobbed, starting to wilt, but his hand returned to your throat, holding you aloft as he wound the coil inside you with each stroke. It didn’t take long for you to fall apart on his cock, your pussy spasming around him as you screamed. He stared at you as you looked at him through tears, his grunts increasing in ferocity. His thrusts became sloppy and he choked on his moans as he spilled inside you, the warmth blooming as you started to come down from your high. He stilled and released his grip, and you flopped onto his chest as you both caught your breath.
“You will stay now?” He broke the silence, sounding unsure as the haze cleared from your minds.
“I will stay now,” You reassured, your fingers threading through his. He sighed in relief.
“Yes. You are mine.”

Elrond x Fem! Elf! Reader: Elrond gets injured and Reader avoids him
Tumblr media
Although Elrond never enjoyed putting his people's lives in danger, he would never refuse to assist those in need if requested. That is how he ended up in the middle of a bloody battlefield where armor, weapons, and bodies were being flung around like nothing. He was skilled enough in combat to protect himself from the enemy's blades, though. No matter how many orcs tried to attack him, he easily defeated them.
The battle raged on, the sound of blades deafening those involved. Arrows sped through the air and soon struck their victim, whose cries were barely audible. The elves fought with unmatched skill and grace, and Elrond slowly led them to victory. By that time, the orcs were outnumbered, and the elven Lord had some time to look around and aid his kin.
Amidst the chaos, Elrond caught sight of you, a brave and spirited elven woman, fighting alongside your people. You were as competent as anyone on the battlefield, but it so happened that you became trapped, surrounded by enemies, with no way out. Elrond jumped into action and moved swiftly to get to you without even pausing for a second. His blades cut through your foes before they could strike you down. Once they were all dead, he took a glance at you, trying to check if you were hurt but before he could proceed, an awful strike hit Elrond. He stumbled back, clutching his side, his face twisted in pain. The sight of his injury sent a shiver of terror through you.
"Baw (No)!" you yelled as you circled around Elrond to slay the orc. Your opponent died because he couldn't get his sword out of the elf's body in time.
Even though you wished to help Elrond, you were unable to do so since your foes spotted the opportunity and approached him. He fought bravely despite having a serious wound, albeit his posture wasn't as steady as before. You held your ground and defeated as many orcs as you could before the enemy decided to retreat.
When it was safe to do so, Elrond fell to his knees and groaned in pain. You rushed to his side and helped him to find a comfortable position. Shouts could be heard from afar, but you couldn't quite make out what they were saying.
"Everything will be fine." with great effort, Elrond reassured you, his voice strained but filled with determination. "Mae carnen. (You did well)."
You tried saying something, but words simply didn't come out of your mouth. Some fellow elves came to their Lord's aid as you stumbled back to give them space. It only dawned on you just now that if you hadn't found yourself in this situation, Elrond wouldn't have been injured. Everything after the battle happened so fast, the elven Lord got safely brought back to Rivendell, where the healer's immediately began to work, while the rest of the elves slowly traveled back.
It didn't feel real to be traveling back to your home. It was almost as if you were seeing with your eyes but your head was blank. Seeing Elrond on the ground had left your face pale. Everything that had happened felt too familiar. It seemed like the day's happenings were right out of your nightmares—the nightmares about losing your beloved spouse. You started crying as you thought back to that terrible day. After they passed away, Elrond was the one who helped you recover because he knew how painful it was to lose a loved one—possibly the most precious of them all. Elrond was the one who took the time to help you heal by lending you his wisdom.
Your sobbing became more intense with each thought. You had come to a realisation as you reflected on the time you spent together, the comfort his presence provided you, and the coldness the separation brought you. You suddenly realized what you had been experiencing while around him. It was love. You considered yourself dumb for only realizing that at the last second, just as you might lose him. And you were genuinely horrified by that.
Tumblr media
Weeks passed as Elrond received treatment for his wounds in the security of Rivendell. When you learned of his recovery, you felt both relief and anxiety at the same time. Overwhelmed by the weight of your emotions, you withdrew, avoiding Elrond's presence, afraid of what your feelings meant and the vulnerability that accompanied it. But, Elrond being Elrond, you knew he had noticed it. Since you two were close, visiting him while he was recovering would have made sense. And yet, since the battle, he had not seen you. You ached to be by his side, to console and comfort him, but you were unable to.
As Elrond slowly regained his strength, he sought out your presence. Every time Lindir came by to let you know that Lord Elrond had asked for your presence in the gardens, you would come up with an excuse not to go. You avoided him at every turn, anxiously waiting for him to pass through the corridor. You could see how his gaze searched for you in the halls, but you were nowhere to be found. Elrond became very concerned and yearned to know why you had been avoiding him. It was unlike you to act like this.
Determined to understand the cause of your withdrawal, he sought you out, finding you in the quiet solace of Rivendell's library. You had been reading a book, trying to take your mind off of the elven Lord. That was until a gentle tap on your shoulder turned your attention away from the book. Your stomach dropped as you realised who had disturbed you. He took a seat beside you, without asking you first.
"What are you reading, exactly?" Elrond asked with curiosity.
Suddenly forgetting what you were reading, you looked down to view the cover. "Oh, I just grabbed something off the shelves." You tried to avoid making eye contact as you shook your head.
Elrond grew silent, noticing how even now, you tried to run away from him. It broke his heart that you grew to resent him so. If he had to be honest, Elrond fell for you a long time ago. He never really showed it but he longed for someone who could understand his pain. And then you appeared at his doorstep, asking for support after the death of your spouse. At first he just looked at you as a friend, but those feelings soon grew. If you hadn't expressed your disinterest in dating, he would've said something sooner. But being the gentleman that he is, he respected your bounderies and tried to move on. The problem was that he couldn't.
"Please, mellon nîn (my friend)," he began softly, his voice carrying a mix of concern and vulnerability, "help me understand. Why do you avoid me so? What has come between our friendship?"
Those words stung. You sighed, unable to give him a straight up answer. But you knew Elrond valued honesty so you gathered all your strenght and looked him in the eyes. "I cannot express it, Elrond, for I fear if I do, history will repeat itself."
Elrond looked deep in thought, carefully deciding his next sentence. "I'm not quite sure I follow." he admitted.
You looked away, trying to hide your pained expression. "The battlefield, brannon nîn (my lord). It was my fault."
"It hardly was." he shook his head, slowly sliding closer to you. When you had not moved away, he reached out to grab your hand.
"You nearly lost your life, Elrond!" you yelled. "If that blade was aimed just a bit higher, you would've dropped dead! And it would've been because of me! Because I was incompetent enough, to let myself get trapped!"
"Please, do not think of yourself this way." his pained voice could be barely heard. Elrond's eyes widened in shock at what you were saying. He in no way had blamed you for his injury. "Any of us could've been in your situation. You fought well, you came to my aid when I needed it. Why do you put yourself down?"
"I just..." you sighed. "I can't lose you too, Elrond."
His grip on your hands became firmer. "Is this the reason for your withdrawal?"
You hesitated for a second, then nodded. Although it was difficult, there was a part of you that wanted him to be aware of your worries. No matter how hard you tried to turn it off, that self-indulgent part of you wanted to be comforted by him. "My feelings, they terrify me. It's as if acknowledging them would make my fears come true. After I lost... them, I didn't want to put myself through the pain of loving someone but on the battlefield I had realised that I had already broken that promise. You matter so much to me that I cannot even express it with words. I have fallen in love with you, Elrond. And it scared me."
Elrond took each of your words in carefully. He pondered on them for some time before giving you a nod. Elrond's gaze softened as his hand reached out to gently cup your face. "I understand your fear. Loss leaves deep scars upon our hearts. But shutting ourselves off from love only denies us the chance to heal. I, too, have felt the sting of loss, the ache of a heart once broken. Yet, here we stand, with an opportunity to experience something quite beautiful together."
His words shocked you. "You feel the same way?"
"Chin gelair chîn orthernir guren (Your radiant eyes conquered my heart)." Elrond smiled at you.
Finally, when he whispered those words, you felt the warmth of his presence spread throughout your body. Elrond welcomed your hug as you threw yourself into his arms. Although your worries have not vanished, it helped a lot to know that someone was by your side.
