I know it's hard to swallow the memories and move on with life. To those who are making drastic changes, trying to improve yourselves and your outlook on Life. The way you perceive things or let things hit vulnerable flesh. Struggling to keep an upbeat attitude while things become more layered and overwhelming and just. Don’t. Stop.

I’m here to tell you: You’re allowed to have a Bad Day. You’re allowed to curl up in a ball, turn off your phone and be unresponsive, let yourself feel like shit. You’re allowed to snap, to cry, to be rude or irritable or unpleasant. You’re allowed to hate everything and everyone and want today to be over.

Just remember not to let it consume you. Remember that those around you aren’t entirely to blame. That what you feel will pass.

I had to take a hard look at myself today after what happened this morning (which you can read about here). I haven’t really been responding to friends who have texted. I’ve been hiding in my room and trying to distract myself while strangers work on our foundation because I’m aware that if I’m engaged, I will be snippy and bitter and say something I regret which they don’t deserve to hear.

I apologized profusely to my boyfriend for being short with him and will (in all likelihood) have to apologize to my mother when she arrives home and my bad mood still hasn’t subsided. Because it hasn’t and doesn’t seem to want to ebb at all for the evening.

But I am allowing myself the time to process and feel this ish out. I can give myself that. It’s unsettling and not me and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth but, hell, it’s there and not dissipating so ... gotta let it do it’s thing. I guess.

Don’t pressure yourself to act a certain way when you aren’t feeling it. If friends want to reach out and have fun conversation, that’s great! If you can’t handle it though, don’t. Be as polite as possible but be honest. Or ignore the world until you feel able to handle it.

Because Bad Days happen. And that’s okay.
