Whoops didn't post this here, but here's Blueberry Muffin Quartz (Son to Pinkie Pie, Tempest Shadow, and Brie Panini) and Princess Arthropoda (Daughter to Thorax). They are engaged to be wed, she's a grouch and he makes her laugh.
Ramblings about them under the cut
Name: Blueberry Muffin Quartz Identity: Cis Hetero Stallion (he/him) Siblings: Extra Cheesy Pizza Pie (Older Sibling) Super Swirly Red Velvet Surprise Cake, Bomb Party Cannon, Nettlekiss Stitch, Candy Crusher, Jelly Bean Jamboree Pie, High Top, Sour Dough & Sweet Pea, Neapolitan Ice Cream Sandwich, Sugar Rush Pie, Honey Bunch Pie (Younger Siblings) Talent: (vague hand gesture) Baking
Name: Princess Arthropoda of the Changeling Kingdom Identity: Trans Fem & Intersex, Hetero (she/her) Siblings: Prince Firefly
Despite her father being perky and pretty laid back for a King and her being an asexually reproduced copy of Thorax, the Princess of the changelings is a stickler for rules- mostly ones that apply to herself and how she plans to run things as she dreams of branching off to make her own hive one day. So to others she tends to come off as stuck up and rude, Thorax just tells them that she's trying her hardest to impress everyone by showing off how regal she is... but most ponies tend to avoid her.
Though Blueberry Quartz is practically the only one who wasn't afraid to approach her, when he was helping deliver stuff to the changeling kingdom for Princess Arthropoda's birthday party, he approached her with no hesitation because he thought she was gorgeous. Everyone thought she was going to chew his head off- literally, as he started spewing out dumb puns and jokes in attempts to impress her. To everyone's surprise... she started to burst out laughing, laughing so hard she had tears in her eyes from some of the corniest jokes he was pulling out. Princess Arthropoda instantly grew a soft spot for this pony boy.
The two started dating and got engaged pretty quickly, Blueberry Quartz lives at the changeling's hive and has grown accustom to living there.

Warnings: mention witchcraft and rituals, Harry being so cute it’s disgusting
—-
Wrong.
Delilah’s glare was something to be fearful of and Harry knew that now. The blueberry muffins had barely made it budge. Thankfully, when he popped the iced caramel coffee on the counter and promised to pay for a ‘deep clean of the couch if you two are going to be canoodling on it’, she returned to normal.
Harry had visited the store a few more times and became a bit more acquainted with her as he waited for Y/N to give her readings. She was a genuinely cool woman, and Harry even learned a thing or two. She had insisted on seeing his palms, making him a bit nervous when she hummed, a long nail running over one of the indents in his hand. “You had a very serious ex before. Or… hm.” She mumbled. “Not a good ending. There’s lies in there. You should tell her about it.” Was all she said before dropping his palm and going to help a customer about to knock over a bowl of quartz.
He hadn’t, yet. Y/N was still getting to know him but they hadn’t exactly fully opened up about the extreme details of their relationships. Taking it slow… or something along those lines. Harry had told her he had been in 2 other serious relationships before but one hadn’t been what you’d typically expect. It’s why he was unsure when to bring it up. For now, he was happy finding out tidbits about her as they walked around the thrift store. Focused on her. The current. He had spent too much time in the past, and now he finally had a future that looked like something he wanted.
“This is perfect.” She mulled over the dresser. “For your room. It matches the headboard we found earlier.” Manicured fingers brushed over the stained wood, feeling the ridges. Furniture had energy, and she quite liked the one this was giving off. Warm. Home-y. It would fit the vibes that Harry and her had decided on.
“Whatever y’think, Sugar.” He was a bit distracted looking at her. Observing how she speculated over pieces, running her fingers over each and every one. Some would make her wrinkle her nose and shake her head, a few made her pull her hand away like she had been zapped. This one was to her liking, though. Her face looked it’s usual calm, soft content. Her nose unwrinkled and brow unfurrowed, tapping her nails against it as she placed a ‘hold’ tag on it that she had asked the front for. She’d called it, saying she knew she would find some gems in here.
“It’s your room, H.” Her laugh was soft. “You’ve got to give me some feedback sometimes. As much as I do like this ‘yes, honey’ attitude, it’s your space. Want you to like it just as much as me.” She removed her hand from the dresser, adjusting the tote bag strap on her shoulder. It kept falling off because of her knit cardigan. “Ugh.” The wrinkled brow returned on her face.
Wordlessly, he tucked his fingers under the strap and took the bag from her, placing it on his own shoulder. She had been irritated with it falling off all day and he didn’t mind holding on to it, the beaded stars and solar system needing a break from the pull and slide. “I know. But we made our pin board. You know what I like. And it is important that you like things too. You’ve got a good sense of style, for one, and also… I want you there a lot at some point.” Harry wanted her there or to be at her place a lot. She was already his best friend- mix that with his girlfriend.
He did worry a bit about being clingy. It wasn’t something he worried too much about in the past, however it wasn’t a feeling that he had experienced. Wanting to be around her. Wanting to touch. To bury his face in her neck and be the obnoxious couple in the theme park line. That had always made him cringe- but now he got it. He had a hard time not wanting to touch her, to follow her like a shadow. Y/N was magnetic.
Her face softened as she turned to him, placing her hands on his forearms. Squeezing them lightly, she gave a tender smile as it was obvious his words had affected her. “I will want to be there because you are. As long as you like the place, I’m happy. I just need a bit more input, okay? I can feel you staring into the side of my face, and as flattering as it is, it’s also going to melt it off.” And it unnerved her. Harry was so… attentive. He paid so much attention to her, with a slight intensity that made her feel a bit squirmy. He was also someone who seemed to be trying to match some of her energy which had made her feel a bit off kilter.
“Okay. That’s fine. I’m just trying to be good, sugar.” His fingers nudged her elbows to release her hands from his arms, grabbing one into his own to tangle their fingers together. “I do like that lamp over there. The tall gold lookin’ one. It’s kinda 60’s, don’t you think?” He could go back to his soft pining over her later. She had expressed a wand and Harry wanted to make her happy.
“I do.” She chirped back, happy to see him giving some sort of input back. “Want me to put a sticker on it?”
“Sure. Why not. And that cool marble statue thing. Dunno what I’d do with a giant hand but hey, it’s art right?”
“Baby-“
Y/N ignored the cinnamon like warmth swirling around her gut at the term of endearment, slapping her card down on the reader.
“No. You just spent hundreds on stuff and delivery. And you bought me a few frames.” Her stink eye made him snicker. “Let me take care of lunch. I’ll gladly let you spoil me sometimes, but I like some equality. I like to spoil, too. So let me.”
Harry wanted to argue that his girl shouldn’t have to pay for any sort of meal, any sort of anything- but she would find that out later. It was early in the relationship and she didn’t exactly know his financial situation yet, didn’t know some of the things he wasn’t necessarily hiding but not putting on blast. Plus, the self smug smirk that came when he merely waved his hand and opened her tote bag for her to place her wallet back in was adorable.
“Fine. But I’m getting dinner later.” It was lunch now and Y/N had needed a smoothie and something with substance before they went back to his place to prepare for some of the things to be delivered. “And I expect a proper cuddle later too. You’ve been stingy with them today.” The faux indignant sniff was met with a laugh from her, her hand being caught by his as they went to the pickup counter to wait for their drinks.
The shopping trip had been a major success. Y/N felt oddly domestic with him, understanding a bit of how people would say how much more fun things were just by having the presence of someone else. She usually did those things on her own, being joined by Delilah and some other friends sometimes but she was an independent person. As much as she hated to admit it, sometimes shopping with other people was a chore to her. She was impatient once she was done browsing, hated having to go back over sections and pretend to look too while they finished. It was a trait that had led her to believe perhaps she just wasn’t the right person to go on shopping trips with people, but with Harry? It had been different. He traveled at the same speed as her, walking behind and sometimes straying and coming back with items, but he matched her energy in a way that felt relieving.
The smoothies were grabbed, along with the bag containing their food before they walked out to Harry’s car. “I’m excited for the deliveries.” The pink drink in her hand was sipped on as she watched him beat her to the door, opening it for her. He had been highly upset when she hadn’t waited for him to open it last time, so she instead let herself revel in the giddy feeling it brought her. He was truly a gentleman in every sense of the word. A huge upgrade from her past relationships.
“Me too. They said 4, yeah?” He recalled as he took her bag and placed it into the backseat. Truth be told, he hadn’t been paying much attention to what the store manager had been saying when they checked out. He’d been distracted by Y/N and how the light in the store had been hitting her just right. It was almost embarrassing with how taken aback he was with her beauty each time.
“Mhm.” She hummed around her straw. “We have 2 hours to clean stuff up and make room for the delivery. Then we can start setting things up when you get them. It’ll probably take a while for your place to feel finished but at least it’s a start. Right?” Her eyes went to his face as he pulled away from the curb, his hand finding her knee as he began the track back home.
“Right, Sugar.”
——-
Y/N really did love his space. The home was lovely and airy, the exposed brick some of her favorite bits of the house. It had a bit of a mid century vibe to the fixtures, one of her personal favorite design choices that he had said came when he moved in here. It was just… very bare bones.
“It really is beautiful, Harry.” She placed her smoothie down on his kitchen island, arms wrapping around himself as she looked out into the living room. It was very obvious that a man lived here, a man who hadn’t found time to unpack much or decorate. Luckily, Y/N loved doing both things. The nearly blank slate excited her, and the prospect of spending this time with Harry? Even more so. “It’s going to be perfect once you get it fixed up.”
Harry honestly didn’t spend much time at home. Part of it was that, yes, it didn’t feel very much like a home yet. But the other was that he had moved here and thrown himself into renovations for the bakery. It took a lot of time and effort and he had wanted to be involved in every step of the process. Having his own bakery had been his dream come true.
“I can see what sold you on the place, though.” She teased as she went around the kitchen. Double oven, large fridge, a nice stove. It was spacious and had a large window over the sink. Over the island was a hanging rack for pots and pans. “It shouldn’t surprise me that this seems to be the most lived in area.” There were fresh flowers on the counter and dishes in the drying rack, photos stuck to the fridge with magnets. “Kitchens are the heart of the home, Baker Boy.” She sent him a look over her shoulder, sticking her tongue out at him playfully.
“Oh yeah?”
It really was doing something to him, seeing her in his space. Seeing her walk around his kitchen, her bare feet padding against the wood. Her hair had been pulled into a low ponytail somewhere in the middle of shopping because she had gotten a bit hot, a few tendrils still framing her face. His eyes tracked her everywhere trying to commit this to memory. His feet coaxed him towards her, reaching to her hips to pull her body into his own.
“Yep.” She popped the ‘p’ of the word, looking up at him with a nervous giggle. It still made her want to flinch a little bit when his hands grabbed at her softest places, so used to pushing hands away or feeling ashamed when people felt it- but all harry did was dig his fingers in a bit deeper and look at her with a slightly darker glint in his eyes. It was a desired look, one she felt to her core. “Why are y’looking at me like that?” She mumbled, placing her hands on his forearms. She hadn’t done anything to warrant a hazy look from the man.
“Just like seeing you in my space, is all. The kitchen, its my happy place.” He released one side of her hips to gently tug the scrunchie from her hair and let it fall down. “My mind goes a little crazy with imagining things.” The admission made her tummy swirl, mind race.. his fingers tangling at the bottom of her hair as his mouth fell on to hers for a sweet kiss that surprised her.
“What things?” She whispered back, feeling his lips still incredibly close to her. Curiosity killed the cat, sure. But she would have 8 more lives.
“Just… seein’ you in here after you spend the night. Bet you look so beautiful, sleepy and soft.” He started, exploring her eyes with his own. They were one of his favorite parts about her. “Thinking about teachin’ you how to bake a bit in here. You look really good in my spaces. Like you belong here.” He felt a bit shy saying it, but the smile that grew on the corner of her lips made it fade.
“I’d like all of that.” She replied. There was no reason to be talking so softly, so close to each others lips- but it seemed like when they got moments alone, they ended up being as close as possible to one another. Like their bodies were magnetized to drift as close as they could each time a door was closed and they could be private. “I am a shit baker though, H. I really hope you take the lead or I may burn down your kitchen.” Her joke made him laugh through his nose, a slight shake to his head.
“I will, but you’re probably selling yourself short, Sugar. No way someone so sweet could be that bad at baking.” His praise made her soften, eyes looking away from him as she finally pulled away and let her head fall against his chest.
It was insane, how quickly he was chipping away at her piled high walls. How he had sweet talked his way past the guards that were supposed to be protecting the barriers of her heart. Harry was stupidly charming and sweet, understanding and respectfulness that it wouldn’t feel real if it was anyone else. She had even tried to convince herself that perhaps something wasn’t right but her intuition outweighed her insecurities. He was being honest. His fingers stroked over her back in the embrace, lips pressing against the side of her head as he let her stay there. It was warm and comfortable in every sense of the word and neither wanted to break it.
“I am.” She reassured against the material of his shirt. “But…” Harry wanted to whine when she stood back from his chest, his hands keeping his grip on her as he tried to fight moving from their position. “I brought the stuff to cleanse the house… spiritually if that’s okay.” She still felt a little shy with witchy things around him
“Oh shit. Absolutely. Why? Is the energy bad?” He looked around to see if he could feel something but he didn’t have the abilities she did, he was pretty sure.
“No, no. You’re cute.” She laughed, patting his cheek. “It’s just something we do when we get new houses or move into new spaces, even just to refresh the environment. When the energy gets… mm, maybe a bit heavy or dark? After a really bad day, a death in the family, loss of friendship or job, or just to lift the mood. But for this its to get rid of any leftover stuff that may be there from the last owner and anything that isn’t the best possible energy. Like a restart.” She stepped from his grip and went for her bag, pulling out a wrapped bundle of herbs, incense and a bell.
“Can I ask what the bundle is?” He murmured, looking over her shoulder as she placed them on the counter. He knew what incense was and he could tell there was a bell but he wasn’t sure why.
“Of course you can.” She smiled to herself at his questions. He wasn’t just letting her do it to humor her- he was actually curious. “It’s a bundle with juniper and rosemary. I’ll burn it and walk around your house. We’ll open the doors and windows to let the old energy out and welcome the good in.” She explained. “It’s a smoke cleansing. After that we’re going to chime the bell in each room to invite positive energy inside and then you’re going to keep it somewhere safe so you can do it whenever you want.”
Harry listened intently, nodding along as he watched her pick up the herb bundle and her lighter. When she lit it, it smelled surprisingly good. His eyes trailed her as she opened up the kitchen window, letting the smoke waft in the air. Under her breath he could hear her mumbling something over and over again but didn’t interrupt. Instead he followed her around and opened the windows for her, watching her smile as she did this favor for him.
He had to admit that he did feel a difference in the air. As crazy as some people may think it was, and maybe he was just reading into it, the energy felt lighter in each room after she brought the smoke inside and let it reach each corner of the room. He noticed that in each room she went into. He caught some of what she was mumbling, something about only positive energy being allowed to remain, that anything not of love and light and something else needed to leave immediately and not return. He felt chills once he realized it, a little nervous but also excited. This was fucking cool.
Once all the rooms had been cleansed she returned with him to the kitchen and grabbed a ceramic bowl, letting it smolder out in it as it burned down. The steps repeated, the bell being rung in each room as he followed like a puppy, eager to understand even if he didn’t quite get how it worked.
“There we go.” She murmured. “Much better.”
“Was the energy bad before?” He asked even though he was a little nervous of the answer. It was a little odd, how she felt things. Harry wasn’t quite a believer but he wasn’t a complete skeptic either and Y/N believed in it, so he would do his best to get it.
“No. It was just… the way I’d describe it is cramped. Like you’re in a subway car at rush hour. It made sense that you probably didn’t spend much time here. It can be hard for people to adjust to new places and it adds up to me why it takes a while for places to feel like home. You’ve got so much residual energy from other people. Now it’s yours.” She turned to him, showing him the incense and its holder. “I was thinking this can go on your fireplace mantle. If you want to, i mean. It smells good and it can attract good energy, but if you’d rather not I understand.”
Y/N didn’t want to overtake his space and make him think he had to do anything here for her. It was all to help but she had felt excited that he hadn’t just brushed her off like everyone else had.
“Oh, sick. Sure.” He took it from her. A gift from her, a reminder of her when she wasn’t there. It was hard to hide how excited he was to have her bring it here for him but he failed when he nearly skipped over to the mantle and placed it down. “I’ve never lit incense before though. Does the flame just go out?”
“I blow it out and then it continues to burn. I’ll show you.”
Harry hoped one day he could have her here to do it whenever she wanted.

Witch Date Ideas for different Witches
Kitchen Witch
Go to a homey bakery and let them go on and on about all the ways to enchant blueberry muffins.
(NYC) Go to eataly and get some good ass pastries or prosciutto and other delicious dried cuts, just basically eat around Eataly or go to Dough.
(NYC) Explore supermarkets in places like china town, ktown, (eataly is great too) and get new foods or ingredients for them to try out at home.
(NYC) Load your pockets with dollars and take them to a street fair and try every food/snack stand they want.
(NYC) If they like beer take them to good beer and have one of the guys explain the different brews. If they like mead take them to Honies.
Green Witch
Go to a botanical garden and point to the prettiest flower and say “that’s you”
Start a date by giving them a bouquet with a special message by using the Victorian language of flowers, or your own correspondences
If living together, go to a local nursery and choose flowers to plant together at your home.
(NYC) Take them to Flower power and offer to get them a gift that they please.
(NYC) Also be their buffer to killing their wallet cause that’ll happen at flower power.
(NYC) Take them to any botanical garden. During the winter the Brooklyn one is free.
(NYC) Take them florist shopping.
(NYC) Take them to the Kava bar in the lower east side to feel great after drinking nonalcoholic kava cocktails.
(NYC) Get lost in the north woods in Central Park.
Hedge Witch
(NYC) take them to the beautiful greenwood cemetery.
(NYC) Buy them some skulls or antlers at Catland.
(NYC) Go ghost hunting in some spooky ass places like the abandoned homes of Govenors island or The Dakota building, but if it gets too spooky then have a picnic on the island or by Central Park instead!
Go pumpkin, apple, strawberry, or any fruit picking, then use the fruits/vegetables in cooking/baking.
Cosmic Witch
Take them star gazing and come up with stories about planets falling in love.
Take a car out to a quiet, rural place and stargaze. Watch from a blanket on the ground or the top of the car. If you want, you can take a telescope.
I’d suggest oddities since they sell meteorite and other spacely things though it could be costly there.
(NYC) Museum of natural history has a great space section and planetarium too.
(NYC) Stargazing in NYC might be tricky but if you go up to fort Tyron you might have a beautiful view nonetheless!
Sea Witch
Go to the beach and help them look for sea shells. Help them carry all the ocean water home.
(NYC) Take the Q35 from Flatbush Ave (last 2,5 stop) to fort Tilden. It’s the best beach since it’s the cleanest and hardly no one is there. It’s serene and you’ll find tons of shells.
(NYC) You can stay on the same bus as it will take you to Jacob Riis beach. I find the water there way less clean with tons of algae BUT the seashells there are phenomenal! Like as huge as ashtrays. So if it’s cold and you want to just go seashell hunting I’d vote for Jacob riis.
(NYC) Swimming is better for fort Tilden. If it’s too cold for the beach take them to a boutique called Oddities. They sell beautiful seashells and other incredible magical things in that shop.
(NYC) You can also take them to the museum of natural history and chill in that gorgeous aquatic room with the massive whale that every child feared would drop on their heads and crush them. It’s a beautiful space.
Lunar Witch
Bathe in the full moon together
Graveyard/Death Witch
Go to a local cemetery on a nice day and talk about all the headstones that speak to you.
Getting relationship advice from other spirits. Or traveling to graveyards To do exploring.
take them to the oldest cemetery in the area and do headstone rubbings together
Go people watching at a cemetery. You look out for the living ones and they’ll keep an eye on the dead ones
Take them to your local graveyard and let them tell you about what the ghosts of those who are long gone whisper to them.
Picnic next to a graveyard or a place that has a strong connection to spirits
Crystal Witch
Going to crystal stores and giving them rose quartz, because love.
Let them tell you about their own crystal collection as you browse your local geology museum/crystal shop. Ask them questions about their properties, and maybe even the chemical makeup if they have a scientific streak.
Go to a craft fair and buy a crystal/stone piece for your loved one.
Go to a gem mine to try and find some crystals, rocks, or gems
Energy Witch
(NYC) Get them a session at the Woom center. Take them to the tarot society to pet crystals. The tarot society and Earth Arts center also has soundbaths from time to time.
(NYC) Avoid Times Square at all costs especially if they are super empathetic.
(NYC) Design a candle together at Enchantments.
Storm Witch
If you live in the Midwest and don’t have a very strong sense of self preservation (like most of the locals), take them on a tornado chase with you and make out after you survive.
Just play in the rain with them.
invite them over when it’s raining to sit inside and listen to the pitter patter on the windows while you watch movies. Have rainboots and a coat ready if don’t want to watch a movie or want to do something fun afterwards.
Drag them into the rain and dance!
Desert Witch
Road trip to your nearest friendly neighborhood mesas/weird rock formations. Bonus if you listen to them talk about the area’s folklore
Divination Witch
Swap readings take them some where they can try new decks.
Space Witch
Go to the observatory.
Stare at the constellations
Enjoy a picnic under the stars
Fire Witch
Take them to a huge bonfire (possibly around Beltane) where you can talk and dance and everything, then take some ashes when you're done for different rituals!
(NYC) Sometimes flower power has an herbal smokes class you guys could sign up for. The people that work there would be happy to help you pick out herbs for your own herbal smoking blend! You can also go there to pick out ingredients for loose incense!
(NYC) Namaste on 14th also has an amazing selection of incense. You can buy them a cute and quirky candle at flying tiger or pick materials for candle making together at Michaels. In the summertime go to Roosevelt island and have a bonfire in one of the fire pit/grills.
Necromantic Witch
Take them to a graveyard.
Earth Witch
Start by leaving them a hand written letter to meet you somewhere. Have that somewhere be a beautiful hidden spot in the forest or anywhere that has to do with nature. Pack her favorite foods and bring her favorite book and take her on a forest picnic. Read to her (or have her read to you) as you just sit and enjoy each other’s company and Mother Earth around you.
Music Witch
Take them to a concert or a musical. Watch them get a little more into the rhythms than everyone else.
Go find some music and perform with them
Get a bunch of their favorite music albums (DVD’s) and listen to them together with or with out food
Try to watch a street performance or walk around downtown
Ice/Snow Witch
Ice skating! Or start a snow ball fight with them
Try making synthetic snow and play with it
Play with them on a snowy day, then enjoy some hot coco or hot cider with cookies
Building a snow man or playing in the snow on a snowy day
Try going to a cold place or a snowboard/ski resort to enjoy the snow and exercise
Bath Witch
(NYC) Take them to king spa or sauna castle (Korean bath and sauna houses) and try out every majestic sauna and bath together.
(NYC) Take them to a shop like Lush or the Face Shop to try new things. Have a spa day at home with them.
Make a diy bath bomb or soap
Take bath with a bath bomb
Go to a sauna, onsen, or hot spring
Make a diy sauna with a humidifier in your bathroom or closet while you wear towels.

“I know this really cute little coffee shop a few blocks from here, we can chat more there.”
Rhett followed behind Stevie, his friend and co-worker, to this small coffee shop. He recently moved to Burbank to pursue his passion in film making after ditching his old engineering job, and some of the closed-minded people of Buies Creek. He practically left his old life behind. ‘It was for the better,’ he liked to think to himself. It’s only been a few months but he still finds himself lost in it all. California felt like such a huge land compared to his old home town. He felt happier here and that’s what mattered to him the most.
The small shop, aptly named “Sugar & Spice”, stood on the corner of the street decorated with beautifully themed brown, white, and orange flowers in the front, all of it fitting in with the autumn season. Stevie held the door open for Rhett as they headed inside, the smell of cinnamon and incense filled their nostrils while low indie music played softly over the speakers. It felt cozier than most coffee shops Rhett’s been in he’ll admit. They walked up to greet the cashier grinning at the counter.
“Hello! May I take your order?” Her personality is as bubbly as the drinks they serve.
“Uh, I’ll take an iced coffee and-” CRASH! Rhett’s order was cut off by a loud crashing sound from behind the cashier. Yelling from what sounded like an older man accompanied before the man stormed out of the back room, his face visibly fuming. The cashier apologized on behalf of the man, who was the senior manager, and offered a free muffin with their order for the interruption.
They headed to an unoccupied table near one of the big windows, Stevie setting up her laptop almost immediately. She didn’t waste a second getting down to business while they waited for their drinks. They had to research and scout out locations for their latest short film, as well as get their cast together for rehearsals. Rhett found this part of the business a tad boring, but they’re only a small film company with not enough crew members to spare for such tasks. It beat the hell out of that repetitive engineering job that’s for sure.
“So sorry I’m late with your order, the manager has been on my ass all day. It’s the Cranberry Autumn tea and an iced coffee, correct?” A lower voice brought them out of their work focus.
Their server was a tall, thin frame of a man, Rhett would guess around 6 foot or so. He wore plaid patterned pants that left his ankles exposed to the chilly air with some converse sneakers on. It matched well with the white dress shirt underneath his knitted brown sweater, decorated with detailed patterns on the sleeves and bottom, which hid behind his apron. Salt and pepper hair which gave the impression of an early winter. Black thick-rimmed glasses complimented his perfectly angular face. What stuck out the most for Rhett were his eyes. Oh man his eyes. The most striking blue eyes, like two blue quartz shining in the moonlight, that seemed to pierce right into Rhett’s soul.
He was the most beautiful creature Rhett has ever seen.
Stevie noticed Rhett’s reaction to the server and took over, “Yes, thank you!” She set the tea in front of her and the coffee in front of Rhett.
“I hope you find everything good.” The server smiled over to Rhett, who’s surprised his heart didn’t stop right then and there. “Oh dang, I just realized I forgot your muffins. I’ll be right back!” The server clumsily rushed off to the back room.
Stevie turned towards Rhett with a shit-eating grin on her face, “Saw something you liked? Your face said it all McLaughlin.” Her eyebrows wiggled and she motioned her head towards the back room where the server disappeared into.
“Stevie, please,” Rhett exclaimed, but Stevie’s face tells him she isn’t gonna let it go so easily. Rhett sighed, “Okay, he’s gorgeous and cute I’ll admit, but I can’t just go up to him with some cheesy pickup line and ask him out because my friend saw me ogling at him. What am I, 16? Besides… He’s probably not even gay.”
Their attention turned to the server who returned with a small to-go box filled with mini blueberry muffins. He handed it to Rhett, his hand barely grazing the taller man’s, sending sparks through his arm.
“Here you go! Again I’m sorry about the late order, hope you enjoy the rest of your day.” The brunette gave a big smile to them both before getting back to other customers. They finished their drinks and headed back to their car. As they walked, Rhett checked inside the box of muffins only to find a folded piece of paper. ‘For the bearded one’ was written on top. What was inside made Rhett stop in his tracks. It was a phone number with some writing below it:

Catch Me If You Can (1/?)
Tumblr media
298 days. That’s how long Killian Jones was away from a baseball field. It’s less than a year, only part of a season for him, but it might as well have lasted a decade as he alternated between physical therapy and spending an excessive amount of time sitting on his couch.
But then he came back and won the World Series.
It’s something no one saw coming, and it’s certainly not something anyone who knows about his arm would predict. Now it’s a new season with new possibilities, and anything could happen. On-field reporter Emma Swan will be there to cover it all even if she is not his biggest fan right now.
Asking her out live on-air will do that.

A/n: Hello, friends! Yes, I’m back with another story! No, I wasn’t expecting it, haha. This is based off of my one-shot Striking Out in that they have the same jobs, it’s the same city, and the premise is slightly the same. But there are quite a few differences though!
This is obviously a fictional story, so some things are going to be different. For one, players for the Yankees are allowed beards here and there are definitely names on the back of jerseys. It’s fun making your own rules sometimes 😉 And since I know I have some readers who are not Yankees fans, I promise you I only picked that team because I had to base the story somewhere where ESPN has an office!
I hope you guys like this one! ❤️

The early March wind whistles through the buildings in Chelsea as Emma opens the door to her favorite coffee shop. It’s aptly named the Grumpy Café for that’s apparently how everyone is before they have their morning coffee, which she totally and completely gets, especially on days where she’s working. As soon as she steps inside, she can feel the heat running through the building, the bustle of people trying to get their caffeine fix even on a Sunday morning, and she has to dodge a group of teenagers who likely aren’t even old enough to drive but are apparently old enough to spend over eight dollars on whatever drink it is they’re all taking pictures of with their phones.
She’s done it before. She’s not judging. Okay, maybe she’s judging a little bit.
Whatever. She just wants her coffee with a splash of hazelnut creamer and possibly a muffin that will totally cancel out all of the work that she just did at the gym. What’s the point of working out if she can’t occasionally reward herself with sweets?
(The point is being healthy and living longer and being able to fit into her favorite pair of skinny jeans, but she doesn’t always remember that when she feels like she’s dying and would like to murder everyone within a five-foot radius of her treadmill. And running is a much smaller monster than Pilates.)
Finally, she works past the teenagers and someone who definitely hasn’t washed their beanie since they bought it, and gets to the counter to put her order in, standing off to the side until Ava, her favorite barista, gives her the to-go cup and small brown paper bag filled with two blueberry muffins, one for both she and Ruby since she’s not interested in having to fight over her muffin when she gets home. After she wishes Ava a good day, she leaves the building, the wind already whipping at her skin, and tries to walk as quickly as possible to get back to her apartment so that she doesn’t die of frostbite or something. It’s not cold enough for that, but it kind of feels like it when all she has on are a pair of black leggings and a white tank top that might as well not exist for how little it protects her from the cold.
At least it doesn’t make her sweat.
She should have brought a jacket with her.
“Hey,” a man yells out at her, and she has to bite her tongue to keep from cursing at him when she has no idea what he wants. Instinctively, she reaches for her keys, placing the sharp edge in between her fingertips as she keeps walking, “you’re that girl.”
And immediately she knows that she is, indeed, that girl, and that this man, while slightly obnoxious in his Red Sox cap and t-shirt that he obviously bought from a tourist shop while in Manhattan yesterday, isn’t going to cause her any danger. Just annoyance.
“That I am,” she smiles, knowing less is more when she’s been recognized lately, only the slightest bit of resentment simmering below the surface of her skin.
“Can I get a picture?”
“Yeah, sure.” Emma sighs before keeping that plastered smile on her face as he comes up to her and wraps an arm around her shoulder before holding his phone in front of their faces. It’s quick, easy, and it’s not the first time that it’s happened to her. It used to be solely because of her job, and while this technically stems from that, it’s entirely different.
She should have bought a box of donuts or something instead of this muffin so that she could angrily munch away after she gets back home.
When she walks up to her apartment building, she presses in the code to get through the gate, before pulling the old creaky thing open, and walking up the four flights of stairs to get to her front door, twisting the key in the knob before quietly opening the door as she figures that Ruby isn’t awake yet. It’s before noon on a Sunday where they’re not working, so Ruby being awake would pretty much be a miracle or a sign of the world ending depending on how you look at it.
(A sign of the world ending most definitely.)
Toeing off her sneakers, the right one getting stuck, she flicks on the light switch to illuminate the main room of their apartment. It’s a small place, really more suitable for two people than the three that live here, but she likes the location and rent price too much to change anything about her living situation. The kitchen is more of an alcove than anything else, just five white cabinets shoved into the corner with white and gray quartz countertops, and next to the fridge is an exposed brick wall that she’s not sure is real or simply there for aesthetics. But she kind of likes it and the way that it brightens up the room as their television sits on a small black desk with plants framing both sides of it, a multi-colored rug sitting on the floor underneath their white couch that’s full of more throw pillows than anyone has any right owning.
The throw pillow thing is definitely her fault, but when she’s shopping and happens to see a good deal on a cute patterned one, she can’t help but buy it, figuring there’s some place for it. Her bedroom is full of them, sitting on top of her white comforter and on the black and white striped chair that’s crammed in the corner with piles of clothes stacked on top of it. She’s sure that designers would hate their place, but it’s their place. They like it. That’s all that matters.
She also has this problem with blankets, but that goes hand and hand with pillows, right?
The plants too. She and Ruby obviously wish they had a backyard or something.
“Morning,” Graham mumbles as he steps out into the hallway into the living room. He’s rubbing the sleep out of his eyes, still dressed in a pair of plaid pajamas pants and an NYPD sweatshirt, his hair curling into wild patterns instead of its usual tamed style. “Have a nice run?”
“My legs feel like they’re not actually limbs anymore, but it was good.”
“You happen to bring me any coffee?”
Emma huffs at that before sitting down at the kitchen table with her cup and her muffin, figuring that she’ll clean up the crumbs later instead of dealing with a plate. “No. I got a muffin, but it’s for Ruby.”
“She’s going to be asleep until at least two. I can eat it, and she’ll never know.”
“You have been dating her for two years. You know she can sniff these things out.”
“Eh.”
“I’m serious.”
“So am I. I’ve gotten good at hiding things.”
“That, my friend,” she starts, opening up her laptop from where she left it here last night, and curling her foot underneath her thigh, “is an awful thing to say to your girlfriend’s best friend.”
“You know what I mean.”
“Eat the muffin at your own risk.”
Graham chuckles before stepping further into the kitchen and flipping the switch for the coffee maker, the machine sparking to life as that all familiar gargle starts up, the smell already beginning to permeate through the apartment and overpower the coffee she already has. He hums, something that she’s noticed he always does in the mornings since moving in with them in January, and she blocks it out as much as she can. For so long, it was just she and Ruby here, but then Ruby and Graham got serious and he moved in. It’s only weird in the fact that she has to wear a shirt at all times when in a public space and she can hear some pretty enthusiastic sex noises happening through the bedroom walls. But rent is now split three ways, which is amazing, and Graham has a penchant for home cooked meals, which is something she thinks she’s really going to like when she’s traveling for work.
Graham’s probably going to like it more since both she and Ruby will be gone. Though she thinks he’ll miss Ruby a hell of a lot more than he misses her. She’d at least hope so. It’d be concerning if he didn’t.
Her laptop dings several times, and she already knows that she’s going to have at least ten emails from David detailing her schedule for when she flies down to Florida on Wednesday to cover Spring Training and film her segment on Killian Jones.
Killian Jones.
New York Yankees starting pitcher who has made her life a living hell since October of last year when the Yankees won the World Series. That should have been one of the greatest moments of her reporting career, especially since the team she’s assigned to cover for ESPN won the fucking World Series, but then it all turned her into a viral video online.
There are memes about her, okay?
(She’s only twenty-seven, but some of the things she’s thinking today are making her feel much older.)
And maybe living hell isn’t the right word. At least, not anymore. It was crazy at first, basically a madhouse around her, and she had to log out of all of her social media for two weeks even as she gained hundreds of thousands of followers across every platform where she’s active. She’s now got one of those blue checkmarks next to her name, which she honestly should have had before even if she doesn’t think she’s a celebrity or whatever, and random people stop her on the street for selfies. Selfishly, she kind of wishes that people had recognized her before the incident, but she didn’t get into her job for the fame. Really, that was the thing that held her back when she was offered the promotion, not that her job is really a job that brings much recognition outside of certain circles.
But here she is now.
“Killian,” she starts, holding the microphone to her mouth as she speaks and Killian wipes the sweat from his brow, pushing back his long hair before placing the World Series Champion cap back on top of his head, a bright white smile between his lips. Her heart is hammering in her chest, excitement over the Yankees winning finally starting to sink in. She can’t believe she got to work the Series. Holy shit. “You pitched an incredible game, and helped to lead the Yankees to their win. You’ve had an incredible season, an even more incredible post-season. How is it all feeling right now?”
His grin somehow gets impossibly bigger, the lines around his eyes crinkling, and she recognizes the look in his eyes like she always does. She’s been interviewing him for three years now, even if he wasn’t around much last season after his accident, and following his career around long before she’d actually met him through work, so she recognizes a lot of his mannerisms. It’s odd for her to know every career statistic that he has, to know about all of the publicity around his private life, and yet to have only talked to him while he stands on a field sweating under the glow of stadium lights or in the dimness of the locker room.
But that’s her job. She’s a reporter for ESPN, which is pretty damn awesome, and unlike a lot of people she works with, she actually likes to know what she’s talking about. She’s not a former athlete, not some kind of all-star with household recognition, and she’s a woman. Those three facts make her life impossibly harder, and if there’s anything she’s learned in her eight years working for the network, it’s that for every step that one of her male colleagues takes, she has to take ten. It’s idiotic, sexist, and all around wrong, but if she’s on TV spouting out facts that are incorrect, there’s twenty thousand men at home tweeting her and the network telling them to get the “dumb bitch” off their TVs.
Charming, right?
But it’s her reality. Most people only care about how she looks, about how her ass looks in a skirt, but that’s not what she cares about.
(Even if she has a good ass and works damn hard for it.)
She cares about the game.
And anyone who cares about baseball, cares about Killian Jones.
He reaches up to scratch behind his ear, which is a tick of sorts that she’s noticed, before he leans into the microphone. “Right now, it’s pretty unbelievable. It hasn’t sunk in yet, not really, but I’m happy to be here wearing this hat, having the trophy, the accomplishment. It’s been a long road for me personally, for the team, and I’m in a bit of euphoria over it all.”
“How in the world are you not burning alive?” Ruby says in her earpiece, and she has to keep herself from rolling her eyes with the forced smile on her face. Ruby is a great producer, but she definitely loves giving her live commentary to mess Emma up. “He’s so hot, and I can’t even see his ass.”
Her producer being her best friend is both the best and worst thing to ever happen to her.
“I bet,” she says to Killian, looking up in the blue of his eyes as chants start to ring out across the stadium. Ruby won’t stop talking in her ear, and that’s definitely something the two of them are going to talk about later. “You had a bit of a rocky beginning to the season with your injury from last year still lingering, so how’s that arm feeling?”
“Good as new.”
“Perfect, it looked like.”
Even under his hat she can see the rise of his brow. “You been looking at my arms then, love?”
He is such a flirt. It’s ridiculous. At least he’s not one of the creepy ones. She gets it a lot as a part of her job and the general state of men, but she’s thankful for the fact that Jones never crosses the line. And she’s watched his interviews. He seems to simply be a flirt naturally, no trying necessary.
“Me and a couple million other people.”
He barks out a laugh, his head thrown back a bit, and she can see the sharp underside of his stubbled jaw. Thank goodness the Yankees finally allow their players to have facial hair. Really, it’s for the good of all people. “Well, my sister-in-law tells me most people are looking at my ass, so that’s kind of a relief.”
“Oh my God,” Ruby groans, “there are so many things you could say. But don’t. Ask him one more question.”
“So, Killian Jones, World Series Champion, now that you’ve done something every baseball player dreams of, is there anything else that you want to do?”
His mouth snaps closed, his teeth disappearing in exchange of a closed lip smile, and he tilts his head to the side while his eyes flicker up and down her face, very obviously scrutinizing her before his lips part once more.
“Yeah,” he says, adjusting his hat, “I think I’d like to go on a date with you. What do you say, Swan? You want to go out on a date with me?”
“Emma Swan,” Ruby grits, her voice yelling in Emma’s ear, “if you do not say yes, I will lock you out of the apartment. Think of the ratings.”
Later, she’s definitely going to talk to Ruby about sexual harassment. Not that this is what that is. She could say no. Yeah, he asked her on live television. That’s kind of dick-ish. But he’s not forcing her into it. Ruby might be, but that’s an issue for another time. Right now her issue is that she kind of feels like both vomiting on Killian’s shoes and punching him in the stomach for putting her on the spot like this.
Three years of interviewing him, and this is what he’s going to do.
No part of it surprises her. The next words out of her mouth do since she already knows the repercussions from them are going to be brutal.
“No.”
She’d been asked out on live television by a player who she covers several times a month since he only plays every few games, and she said no. Of course she said no.
They don’t even know each other personally, and realistically, she understands that the whole point of dating is to get to know someone, but she’s not about to say yes on-air simply because she’ll look like a bitch if she says no. And really, she doesn’t think she looked like a bitch. She doesn’t. But apparently, she’s not allowed to have her own thoughts or opinions, have agency over her own life, because even though she was gaining all of that fame online, she was also garnering a lot of hate.
Like, an insane amount of hate.
People online are insane.
She always knew that when she took the step up from being a writer and fact checker who merely listed statistics in articles to being an on-air talent, that it would be a difficult transition. For one, she had to get used to working with a camera, with thinking on the spot, and she also had to get used to how much hate she was going to get for being a woman working in baseball. The world is definitely getting better overall, but that doesn’t mean that tiny, petulant men won’t take issue with her covering games over a former pro who’s only in it for the money.
The money is great, much better than she ever could have imagined, but that’s not why she’s in it. Not at all.
Growing up, she didn’t have a lot. Really, she had nothing. Her parents gave her up for adoption after she was born, but no one adopted her. Ever. She grew up in foster homes and group homes, never really having anyone or anything she cared about until she was fifteen and moved into Ruth Nolan’s home in Portland, Maine. Ruth was a kind older woman who packed Emma’s lunch for school and bought her new clothes and made her feel like she mattered for the first time in a long time. Emma knew that Ruth had a son, David, who lived in New York City and who Ruth was unnaturally proud of, but she didn’t meet him until six months after she’d been living in the house and he came home for Christmas with his fiancée, Mary Margaret.
She’d hated him.
Really and truly hated him. She had a good thing going, and him coming home made her realize just how much she didn’t have anything that belonged to her.
She had nothing.
And it didn’t matter that he was twenty-seven to her fifteen, that he was an adult while she was still a child. The jealousy didn’t stop. It kept festering and festering until she was worried that it would never stop. As an adult, someone who is now twenty-seven herself, she realizes how ridiculous this was, but at the time all she could think about was how terrified she was that having her actual son home would make Ruth realize how much Emma didn’t belong.
All of her worry was for nothing because David Nolan is the nicest man on the planet, and he took her under his wings from the moment that he met her. She resisted, not used to knowing what kindness and affection were, but David made her feel comfortable to the point where her shoulders didn’t tense up, where her head didn’t pound, and even though he was a little too much for her until she got used to more genuine care and kindness, David became the older brother she never could have dreamed of.
He was the one who took her on her first vacation, a weekend trip to visit he and Mary Margaret in New York. The two of them definitely coddled her a little bit, jam packing the days with trips to anything and everything she wanted to go to, but it was fun. And then David took her to a Yankees game with seats behind third base and access to the facilities and food to die for with his special access, and her entire life changed.
Obviously, she’d watched a baseball game before. She knew most of the ins and outs, did for most sports. In all of the homes that she’d been in, sports were pretty much a constant. It was the thing the dads liked, most of the kids too, and even though she hadn’t always enjoyed them (she has some pretty strong feelings about basketball), sports were a constant in her life. Her foster parents would never sign her up to play, never wanting to spend the money on equipment, but watching on TV and understanding what her classmates were talking about made her feel like she belonged.
Then she went to an actual game, felt the atmosphere of thousands of people cheering, heard the ding of the ball against the bat, listened to music played during breaks, ate a hot dog like all of the clichés, and a light switched on in her. If David could work at ESPN, could spend his days studying statistics and helping to put together clips and videos of highlights, why couldn’t she?
Why couldn’t she dream of more than staying in Portland and working in an office as a receptionist or something else that would inevitably make her lose the light inside of her that has already been diminished?
Ruth and David offered to help her take SAT prep courses to boost her score, and they helped her apply to colleges across the country. When she got accepted to NYU, David and Mary Margaret immediately told her that she could live with them, and when David got her an interview at the ESPN offices as an intern the fall of her freshman year, she finally, finally felt like her life was headed somewhere good.
Then she met Neal and…that’s not something she wants to think about.
He’s not someone who needs to take up any space in her mind when she’s got Jones to deal with.
More specifically, an interview with him.
Emma,
Here’s your flight information as well as your rental car number. Everything is under your name, so it should be easy to get once you’re in Tampa. We’re sending Madden with you, but we’re sending Ruby to other ST games to produce with some of our more inexperienced reporters.
Jones can do his segment on 3/09/19 before the game against the Orioles. That’s also who they’re playing on Opening Day, so try to work something in with that. He shouldn’t be pitching that day, so he’ll mostly be free.
Come over for dinner before you leave?
DN
She fires of a quick response before opening up her document filled with the list of questions that she’s been working on for the interview. Jones is a pretty private guy despite how much information on him is out there, so she knows that this exclusive is a pretty big deal. She also knows that despite being the exclusive on field reporter for the Yankees, she got this gig because of what happened after the World Series. It stings, if she’s honest with herself, but she’s learned that sometimes she has to accept things she doesn’t necessarily love for the good of her career. That’s precisely why she, Ruby, and Graham have spent the last six nights sitting in their apartment listing off questions that she thinks resemble more of a speed dating questionnaire than a profile on a professional athlete.
At least there’s some questions about baseball. She doesn’t think Jones would be too fond of her if she dug a little too much into the boating accident that broke his arm and ended his season two years ago or the rather prolific dating history that he has. Then again, maybe him hating her would keep him from asking her out again.
Pros and cons and all.
“Ooh, is that muffin for me?”
Ruby stumbles out of the hallway, her shorts riding up her ass and her socks at different heights around her ankles. Her hair is half tied up in a bun, but it’s mostly falling down her back in dark curls, red streaks spread throughout. She’s basically a zombie waking up this early, and when Emma looks over to Graham standing with his back against the countertops peeling open the wrapper on the muffin, Emma can do nothing but smirk.
At least she’s not saying I told you so.
She’s really tempted though.
“Sure, babe,” Graham smiles, opening up his arm for Ruby to fall into his side, her head resting on his shoulder as she picks at the top of the muffin, spilling the crumbs on the floor all the while Graham kisses her temple. “What are you doing up?”
“I could smell coffee,” she mumbles, her mouth full. “And my phone kept going off because David wouldn’t stop emailing me about all of my work stuff this week. Does he ever sleep, Ems? I mean, he’s got a wife and a ten-year-old. He’s got a life.”
“David can make Mary Margaret swoon and help Leo with his homework all the while emailing us to get our shit together. It’s a talent.”
“It’s annoying.”
Graham chuckles before rubbing his hand up and down Ruby’s shoulder, the affection so easy between the two of them, and Emma feels her stomach twist. She’s in that weird phase where she couldn’t be happier for her friend, couldn’t be happier that Ruby has this person, her person, but where she also feels a lingering loss over having lost someone who she thought was hers.
But again, she is not thinking about that this morning. It’s easier not to.
“Sweetheart, I can nearly guarantee that your boss does not get onto you like my boss does.”
Ruby’s brow raises before she takes a giant bite out of the muffin. “Are you really going to stand here and try to tell me that I can’t be irritated with my boss because you have it harder?”
“That is not what I said at all.”
“It kind of is,” Emma adds in as she brings her knees up to her chest and types in a question about Killian’s nieces on her document.
“But you understood what I meant? I just meant that – ”
“It’s too early for you to keep putting your foot in your mouth,” Ruby laughs, stepping out of Graham’s embrace to get a mug out of the cabinet and pour herself a cup of coffee. “And it’s definitely too early for little miss over there to have been on a run and be back here working. It’s our day off. Let’s do something fun.”
“Like what?”
“Get drunk?”
“Oh my God, no. It’s not even nine thirty.”
“It’s five o’clock somewhere.”
“Okay, Jimmy Buffet.”
“Well now I want a cheeseburger and a margarita.”
“We could always go to the restaurant in New Jersey.”
“There’s a place ten minutes away from here,” Graham interjects, “that sells fantastic cheeseburgers all day long. We go there for lunch a lot.”
“But do they have tacky decorations and overpriced alcohol?”
“They have good food and a TV that works seventy percent of the time.”
“That sounds perfect,” she sighs, closing her laptop even though she knows they probably won’t leave for a few more hours, “but once the season starts, I’m going to have to swear off burgers and any other concession food.”
Ruby guffaws, actually guffaws, her head thrown back and her coffee sloshing around in the mug. “The day you stop eating junk food on game day is probably the day that you go out on that date with Jones.”
Her eyes immediately cut toward Ruby, but the woman can’t be fazed and doesn’t care that she’s being stared at by someone with daggers in her eyes. Graham lets out a low whistle, one that doesn’t match up with the song he was humming earlier, and Ruby simply shrugs her shoulders and takes another sip of her coffee.
“I hate you for still thinking that’s funny,” Emma finally says as her legs stretch out for her to stand up and toss her empty mug into the trash bin, the cup circling the bag before landing in. “And for telling me to say yes for the ratings.”
“To be fair, I always knew that you’d say no, which is honestly probably better for the ratings than you saying yes. I’m so pissed that I didn’t get assigned to you to go to Tampa. I’d pay big money to get to see the two of you get all close and personal, but no, Jeff gets to go with you.”
She rolls her eyes and steps forward to condescendingly pat Ruby on the arm, forcing a smile on her face. “I’m not going to tell you anything that happens, which means you’ll never know because Jeff will never tell. We could have sex right there at Steinbrenner, and you’d never know.”
“I hate you.”
“You wouldn’t have sex with him anyways,” Graham says, and she and Ruby both slap his arm before his lips part in shock. “What? I’m just saying the truth. Emma is a consummate professional, and she’s pissed at Jones for asking her out like that. She’s not going to do anything to mess up her reputation. She’s worked too hard to be taken seriously.”
Graham Humbert: loveable idiot but also one very smart man.
Because he’s exactly right in what he’s said.
“Let’s go get some cheeseburgers,” Emma sighs, wanting to change the subject.
“But you just said it was too early.”
“Whatever,” she laughs, adjusting her sports bra underneath her tank top. She probably needs a shower before she goes or her sweat is going to mold this bra into her skin. “It’s five o’clock somewhere.”

Cemetery Spirit Work Planned
The spirit I work most closely with is my Gram. She was my absolute best friend. There was nothing I loved more than having breakfast and gossping with her. I have a small altar set up for her in my room, and I've been feeling her presence very strongly today, so I've decided to visit her gravesite tomorrow. It will be the first time I've been there since she passed away almost 2 years ago.
I want to bring her a little offering and have a breakfast picnic and chat. So far, I am planning to pack:
Homemade lemon blueberry muffins
Coffee
A blanket
A tea light candle
Some crystals (rose quartz clear quartz, and amethyst)
A piece of her jewelry
A mum plant to leave behind
Spirit workers: what are other itms you would recommend I bring with?
