Children deserve rights. That does not mean fully grown adults should be able to have sex with (rape) them, it means they should be able to vote, opt out of school, get out of abusive households, and make decisions about their own bodies.

On the bright sides, way less attacks on Amity now that a primordial being that literally shuffles around entire galaxies just because is hanging around to teach him how to do things. And when Billy gets found out to be ten he can cheerfully say he has permission from his guardian. Gonna be insufferable from now on in using Taranis as an example of why the ahamkara deserve a second chance and why they aren't all inherently evil or dangerous entities but are instead just as nuanced and morally neutral as any other predatory species btw. Because if there was anything that Starcrossed showed us its that we've been learning about the lives and nature of ahamkara from the very biased perspective of one individual (Riven, who is proud and hungry and cunning and rejoices in it, as well as has a very good reason to hold a substantial grudge aginst humankind) and from the outsider fear-knowledge of their prey and that is not by any means a good way of measuring the worth of a species or casting judgement on their fate. They would deserve the right to live even if Taranis was not kind or had not given his life to save his eggs, because being capable of love is not a determinant of worth either, but it DOES prove that they are not inherently evil and that living in a universe with them is not an impossible nor unnecessarily dangerous endeavor

oh yeah, i think it's important to differentiate between the ideas of a "jewish ethnostate" and a "jewish homeland", as a jew myself especially --

of course we deserve a place where we feel safe, a place that puts emphasis on caring for us and not treating us like dirt. but that is not the same as a place that allows ONLY us to be there. (and we are talking about a mass of land, not an affinity club or anything -- we're talking about somewhere people live. who gets to be a part of it is not something you should be policing on lines of race or religion.) we have no right to lay claim to land and force other people out of it. we have no right to a jewish ethnostate.

"oh but if there are any non-jews in our land they'll treat us badly like they always have!!!" no, that's just cynical nonsense. if anything, you're letting the antisemites win by agreeing with the omnipresence of their bigotry. yes, tons of people have been horrible to us. that won't get better by running away from them and hurting other people in the process.

also, it is very worthy of note that jews and their ancestors have lived in palestine, for a great portion of history in fact, but were conquered multiple times by multiple empires and expelled to the diaspora. of course jews want to live in palestine! of course! but palestinians are just as indigenous to the land as we are -- we have absolutely NO right to kill them and kick them out and say it isn't their home (which is exactly what so many empires did to us, in the same land no less).

endorsing zionism and anti-palestinian rhetoric, as a jew, is hypocritical, cruel, and wrong. let palestine be free, as they (and we) deserve to be. they are facing the same terrors we have; let us stand with them.

This is the second time recently that I've gotten sick, and all I had to do was get online and I got to talk to a doctor within minutes.

And I can't stop thinking about Gaza.

How it should be just as easy and accessible to them. How it could be. How many people are dying just because of their lack of access to medication, to healthcare.
