Why do Republicans hate the LGBTQ+ community so fucking much? Why is it so difficult for them to just let people live their fucking lives?

Every day there's a new hellish bill being passed that will make things so much harder on LGBTQ+ folks than they already are.

Instead of passing actual legislation that will make the lives of their constituents better, Republicans just use hate and fearmongering to stay in power, and it makes me fucking sick.

1012 N. Main Street, Fort Worth, Texas, USA,

In 1921, Fred Rouse, a Black packinghouse worker, was brutally lynched in Fort Worth, Texas in front of a crowd of over 100 onlookers. He was first assaulted with iron bars by a mob of White union workers, who accused him of breaking their strike. 

Then the White mob pulled him out of the hospital where he was receiving treatment and killed him. Last year, a century after his death, the Equal Justice Initiative, with the help of Rouse’s grandson, created a memorial for the slain man.

Now, Fort Worth is again reckoning with its racist past as the former Texas headquarters of the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) is being transformed into the Fred Rouse Center for Arts and Community Healing. The initiative is spearheaded by the Texas arts nonprofit Transform 1012 N. Main Street, which purchased the building in 2021. The center is expected to open in 2025.

Je déteste absolument quand un adulte dit "c'était pas vraiment un mysogine, c'était un homme de son temps" pour justifier les paroles humiliantes qu'une figure historique avait dit contre les femmes. ETRE DANS SON EPOQUE N'EST PAS UNE EXCUSE JUSTIFIABLE POUR LA CRUAUTÉ ET LA BIGOTRIE. Est ce que les allemands de la Seconde Guerre Mondiale étaient "juste des hommes de leur temps" eux aussi, mais pas réellement des nazis ? Et les colons blancs n'étaient pas vraiment des exclavagistes racistes mais clairement "juste des hommes de leur temps" hein ??? J'ai personnellement grandi dans une société hétéronormative où les personnes avec des troubles psychologiques sont vu comme des "fous" qui méritent d'être mis de côté. Pourtant ça fait pas de moi une personne qui annonce en public des choses comme «les débiles mentaux n'ont pas de droits» comme ça a été inscrit dans le code civil français à une époque. Donc, putain, arrêtez d'utiliser cette excuse pour justifier la violence discriminatoire des hommes cisheteros blancs de l'histoire.

International Women's Day 2024: International Women's Day on 8 March

For more than 100 years, women around the world have been taking to the streets on International Women's Day for more women's rights and equality.

And I admire that, but the way the world looks now, they will have to take to the streets for another 200 years to fight for equality.

The current backward-looking attitude of some social groups towards the alleged good old days must be disenchanted by all of us by any means necessary.

There was no good old days at all

A real man is a feminist who doesn't understand the issue of equality is ignorant of the challenges that we can only solve together.
