GENDERWHATEVER
Genderwhatever is a term referring to people whose gender:
Is 'whatever'
Cannot be defined fully by modern terminology
Is a combination of or aligned with gender-x terms like gender-nonconforming, gender-creative, gender-expansive, etc
+ anyone else who views themself as genderwhatever!
The creator of this flag supports all good-faith identities. TERFs, bigots, transmeds, exclusionists DNI.

I see a lot of posts from fellow nonbinary people that express something to the effect of "can't do math" and it makes me feel this deep sadness. There aren't a lot of us represented in the sciences (aside from bio, I meet a lot of nonbinary biologists).
If you're just not interested in math or STEM, that's okay. It's valid to learn just enough math to get by and then focus your attention elsewhere. But if you're dreaming of being an engineer or a scientist or something else math-heavy, and that math is discouraging you, I'd like to encourage you. It's work, but I think you can do it! The more of us there are, the more will follow.

Working in a middle school has its ups and downs, but today I had a moment.
I finished a class and walked into the corridor, finding a group of giggling 10 year olds there. For a moment I wondered if they were supposed to be here right now, if I was expected to chase them off to a classroom or to the school yard. Then I spotted what they were doing.
Six girls and a boy. One of the girls had brought some mascara (probably not allowed) and they were applying it to the lashes of the boy who seemed to be enjoying it immensely. He had a shirt wrapped around his head to represent long hair.
I left them alone.

Aesthetic Aspirations Personality Typology Intimate Layer Quiz V. 0.1
Tumblr media
Link to the quiz: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11iD1quPwGY8VLVn9O52BWl9svmpDDoqHyouyZgROo9k/edit?usp=sharing I'm excited to announce AAPT has it's first quiz available to be taken! For those unfamiliar AAPT is a personality typology I developed. Its inspired by Yin and Yang based styling systems, experience of various different personality typologies, and my experiences as a gnc, queer, and neurodivergent person. AAPT tries to capture different kinds of inner beauty via 7 Aspirations in a body-neutral and gender expansive way. I hope the typology encourages people to explore autonomy over different ways of moving, creating, and loving. To learn more about to interpret your result, I've linked an introductory post about the typology below (after I've written it I've since renamed it from AEPT to AAPT). I plan to eventually make a series that goes into each of the inspirations in detail and should give a better idea about each aspiration implies. To take the quiz, please open the sheets file above, and duplicate the file. You can then read the instructions and fill out the answers column. Your type should be generated in the Result sheet. AAPT includes the ability to devalue an Aspiration, but that is not currently a feature included in the quiz at this time. If anyone has any questions or comments, I'd be eager to hear them ^_^ (image from https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Sunrise#/media/File:Lilienstein-sonnenaufgang.jpeg)

This is why I’m gender expansive nonbinary. I’m not a girl, but I was raised in this and I love it. I love being a girl. It is not all I am, but it is part of who I am - a big beautiful part.
Women are amazing. Being raised as one was a blessing. There are severe drawbacks, but I choose to hold on to the beauty, while fighting against the bullshit.

Gender Update
Lots of questioning has been happening over the past couple of weeks (indeed, over the past year), and because this blog is meant to document my experience as well as share my journey, my works, and my philosophies, I have chosen not to omit any original introductions from this page.
I will always pin posts and tag them #mypresentjourney to keep people in the loop.
I was finding it especially difficult to gather a sense of how I could convey both the manifoldness and specificity of my identity. Considering pronouns and titles was surprisingly unhelpful because it was focussed on external perceptions rather than attempting to describe my experience. I found much more ease exploring through lists of identities.
If anyone else wants to try this, I had a general realm of what I roughly lay in and amalgamated a bunch of congruent terms (for example, nonbinary umbrella - just finding all the different nuanced forms; or seeing what and if feminine associated titles were all right). I added ones I also had never considered, ones I had felt uncomfortable with in the past, fun ones I found delightful, ones I would never use in public but were descriptive. I was both trying to challenge myself and really hone on how I'd feel comfortable presenting (and also if you're new to the community, it's a great way to see the diversity therein).
The list came out like this (you are free to use this template/make yours prettier/etc.):

Most liked:
Transandrogynous

Genderflow
Meh:
Agender
Agenderflux
Aporagender

Absolutely Not:

Cisgender
Demigirl
Graygender

~ ~ ~
I listed them all and wrote down explanations about why I did, didn't, or maybe liked them the evening before, then reordered them like this while I had breakfast in a café.
For example, demigirl was a term I didn't mind a year ago. Now, I realise that was me clinging to womanhood and doesn't actually have resonance with who I am.
Conclusion
Here is my current standing:
Nebulaic and nebulous will always be terms that make me happy.
More frequently, though, I really love transandrogynous. Realising I'm trans for me is finally embracing that I'm not a woman and I don't have to force myself to fit into that anymore. I can transition into that androgyny - it's incredibly liberating.
Nonbinary is always a comfortable term - it's well-known, it's easy to describe to people without getting into details, and it's nebulous enough to be fluid. It also implies rejecting strict binaries which I like.
Gender expansive indicates the encapsulating nature of how I bring in masculinity and femininity and other beautiful pieces into my androgyny, and that I'm not confined to a box.
I'm still figuring out my relationship with femininity and masculinity, I'm still exploring who I am, but I've realised that I'm definitely predominantly (as the list probably indicates) most comfortable with androgyny.
Wherever you are at, you are lovely and deserve so much love and respect, and you will find your way. Hopefully this little exercise helps you like it did me.
With love, T.C.

We couldn't make much for international women's day today (thought we'd have a chapter of something done or something recorded) but we've been sick, so we do want to share this gif a dear friend of ours, Starshine Crayon, made of trans Arcee. Starshine asked us: give me your favorite "Arcee is about to kick some ass and chew bubblegum" image, so among other things we sent the idw1 tfwiki mainpic and got this gif back🏳️‍⚧️which we love <3 her story and those of other transformer gals give us hope that even when things are really shitty and painful, even when entire knowledge bases and generations are largely lost, rebuilding and reimagining is always possible and always going to happen, and nothing can stop that, and the road that leads to having trust, love, and fighting for autonomy. we studied gender history for a lot of our life, so we know it is deeply varied and that many societies around the world had power parity or equality for people of different genders, just as many people resisted hegemonies of their time, and successors or various communities are coming close to more pluralistic autonomy being free, facing off against currently faltering and increasingly desperate hegemonic masculinity and the empires that compose a great deal of it.
There is a way out. Love is the strongest thing in the universe. It can kill, but more importantly, it can heal, and build peace without punitivity, to hope and imagine that when paired with wisdom and keeping to one's lane and supporting those of others allows for different paths than what society assigns and/or denies us. We want to leave y'all with some of our favorite three panels of IDW1, from Optimus Prime #24, "A Sunrise Dark." Literally EXRID is so relevant to today and is also timeless, we could go on about that some other time. Some day we will do a whole retrospective on Arcee but today isn't the day. Instead we will just direct you to the Notes and Conceptual origins section of IDW1 Arcee's page so those of you unfamiliar can understand the trans input her character got and why she means so much to some of us whose story resonates with her. We literally don't know another tale like hers that hits so many notes of our life minus the very large amount of people she's killed so like everyone who gatekeeps about her doesn't get that she touches on things that are very real- AND by the way there is a gender expansive category on the wiki now that y'all should look at (Sam from Earthspark isn't on there yet because she/they doesn't have an article yet)

I see my future, I hold it in my hands
I see my future, beautiful children, free to express who they are, who take for granted, the struggles of today
I see that future, gender expansive, free to be yourself, children who look back and wonder "why?'
"why was the world ever like that?"
I see the future, medical congruence and freedom of expression, freedom of me
I hold that future in my hands, I see my path, my career, I'll live loud and proud, bring that future to the now
Do you see the future? The efforts of today, built on flags, rallies, and signs; as we march down streets, making our voices heard, struggling to be heard
We hold that future, I see it in your hands. The future is beautiful, smiles unbidden, lets bring the future to our now
I see it coming, the future is found

Instead, I find myself thinking more and more about the “gender-expansive community.” In the broadest sense, everyone is part of this community because no one conforms 100 percent to their assigned gender. But it also allows a great deal of room for those whose assigned sexes truly do not fit and who try on different names and labels. All the term describes is that we have an assigned sex, and our identity does not fit with whatever cultural, social, and philosophical connotations come with that label.

Things I love:
Two trans partners.
One transfemme, so I’m their girlfriend. I send lesbian gifs to make them shy smile.
One transmasc, so I’m his boyfriend. I send him gay gifs to make him light up.
And here I am, delightfully non-binary, delightfully gender expansive, so I get to be all of the things I can be with each of them. But I am always, most critically, just myself. And they both see all of me and love me for it.
