First of all i believe that people have a right to their own opinions as long as it isn't harmful to others and isn't forced onto others.

Girlincalico, a slow living youtube's whom has gotten very popular, is an extremely problematic individual. I have found a reddit thread about some of her beliefs and decided to do a deep dive into her social media.

Kaetlyn follows problematic people on her instagram such as solieolie, a anti feminist tradwife. Solieolie has posted many problematic ideologies on her instagram. One that I am extremely discomforted by are her tweets about girls in college and how they are "corrupted". I'd rather not get into the other people she follows as majority hold the same beliefs.

I was first struck to write this because of Kaetlyn's instagram story the other day about modesty. Nothing is wrong with modesty; you can dress modestly if you wish. This passage from a book that she shared however rubbed me the wrong way.

I don't really need to explain how this is problematic. Women are not responsible for the male gaze.

Kaetlyn's twitter is a entire rabbit hole of disturbing tweets.

Here she displays her transphobia.

Her ignorance of Covid-19

She obviously doesn't know what communism is

pro-life

Her love for the patriarchy

I want to share this because many people who watch Kaetlyn's youtube are unaware of her harmful opinions.

I do not care that Kaetlyn is a devout christian, as i am a christian myself.

Her "christian" and conservative ideologies are harmful to our youth and society as a whole. Do i need to remind more people that your religion does not dictate other peoples lives?

This is probably so out of the blue, but Kaetlyn Kennedy aka girlincalico (posted a photo with you forever ago) and has gotten quite the platform with her horrific views (which a lot of times are hidden) how did you become friends with her?

i became friends with kaetlyn through instagram a long time ago...probably back in 2016?? i got to meet her in person in the summer of 2019. we have since parted ways and i wish her all the best

We’re going away for the weekend, I have a mountain of unfinished Christmas letters, all the presents are still in their Amazon boxes, I messed up the cookie recipe, and I need to pack everyone’s stuff. 🌿What are you currently reading or watching?

Rewatching Haibane Remei, watching some YouTube: girlincalico, liziqi, lollalane and so many more. I am into destination vlogs to Czech Republic, France and Japan...I want to pretend I’m traveling. I’m reading “Whitefern” the sequel to My Sweet Austin’s even though everyone says it’s awful. I have been reading a lot of nonfiction recently about cleaning and minimalism, and I just finished the first Witcher book.

🌿If you can go outside, what do you like to do during this time?

I can go in my back yard! We are planting a garden this weekend and I got a small plastic green house to put the herbs in, I am excited.

If I could go anywhere though.....

In the spring I have two things I do almost every year, 1.) go on a hike (I may be able to do this one.not sure yet) 2.) go to the Japanese supermarket and get all the strawberry products! I go to the supermarket year round, but every spring they have a huge Ichigo display. (I sound like a weeb in these answers...gosh maybe I never realized this about myself lol)

🌿Any fascinating concept you’re studying?

Reading more about Astronomy, although I’m always reading about it or watching watching something on it on some level. My husband and I have both been re-reading a lot of the Greek myths.

🌿What kinds of acts of creativity/forms of art are you currently doing?

I’m painting, working on two books, working on my website and blog, drawing all the stuff I normally do, I’m drawing a unicorn to paint for my nieces nursery right now and writing a short spooky story.

🌿Favourite impulsive/’bad’ coping techniques?

Overeating and eating sweets for sure. I am having liver problems and I am switching antipsychotic medications and the new one makes me super hungry at night, and because of my liver I’m supposed to be on a special strict diet...but I just want frosting and cake....

🌿Favourite healthy/’good’ coping techniques?

Being with my family, Art, chatting with my sisters and mom, learning things playing with or petting my cats!
